what are the sub groups for? just curious

Hey Bruce, "Thanks" for the comment.The subgroups will allow me to control the overall level, for anything routed to that group. As well as add Compression, EQ and EFX to the group overall.For example, if I wanted to glue the sound of the total drum kit together... I could put a compressor on the Drum Aux/ Subgroup, to compress the overall sound of the total drum kit... this is also very useful when dealing with background vocals.I usually tend to have a subgroup for every category of instrument/ vocal, that consists of more than 1 track... e.g.. Drums, Back ground Vocals, Keys, Strings, Guitars...etc.

OOOH!! thats so smart! So do you Compress, EQ and add efx.. THEN group them and give them an overall compression etc. or is the group its self what you tweak everything on?

I use sub groups in this way as well... in my case i compress, eq and add efx to each track individually then use the grouping to raise/lower the volume of an entire sub-group... i don't know if this is the best way to do it, but it works for me.
