presented in this training. I'll see you in the
next lesson. Thank you.
2. How YouTube Works: Now let's understand
what YouTube really is, how it works, and how it compensates its
content creators. Well, to start here on
the computer screen, I've created this
mind map to help us understand what YouTube
is and how it operates. To begin with, let's understand
what YouTube actually is. YouTube is a video
streaming platform where users can watch, share and upload videos, functioning similarly to other streaming
platforms like TikTok, Facebook, Instagram,
and many more. However, YouTube stands out
due to its vast content of long form videos and its integration with various
monetization methods, allowing content creators to generate income in
different ways. In other words, when
we refer to YouTube, it is nothing more than a
video streaming platform that works similarly to TikTok, but with different
characteristics. On YouTube, it is
very common to find long duration videos
with full resolution, as well as short videos
known as YouTube shorts. In other words, when
we talk about YouTube, it is like a kind
of social network for videos where you can watch, share and publish
videos on the platform. Here on the YouTube
homepage to show you more or less how the
YouTube platform works. So here on the left side,
this is the homepage. On the left side, we
have several options. Here, we have the homepage, which is this specific page. The YouTube algorithm,
mainly for you, the viewer, tends to recommend videos that
you usually watch. For example, if you often
watch Finance videos, the YouTube algorithm will only recommend channels related to
the Finance niche for you. In my particular case, it's selected random videos
because the algorithm doesn't know exactly what type of video I usually
watch after all. I'm not logged into
any account here. You try this with a
connected account, you will see that on
your YouTube homepage. Only videos related to what you usually
watch will appear. Besides this option,
on the homepage, we also have this shorts option. There will be a specific lesson
only about short videos, but I will briefly summarize what shorts videos are for you. They are basically short videos, similar to those on
the TikTok platform. So you can watch some
videos as well as upload videos here
within this option. We also have the
subscriptions option. We won't be able to
view this option now. But basically, in the
subscriptions option, you'll see your history of
the last videos you watched, your playlists, liked videos, and many other things. In addition to the library page, we also have this history option where your viewing
history will appear. That is the last videos you watched here on
the YouTube platform. If we scroll down here, we have other options in
this Explore tab. We have trending,
what is trending. It is basically the top trending videos on
the YouTube platform. Here we have various topics, and now in the latest
trending videos, we have these videos. If we select games, for example, the trending section will display topics related to games, specifically the
trending videos on the YouTube platform on the
day you're viewing them. What YouTube has done is further expand this
explore option. When we go to Explore, we can explore videos
on various topics. So we can view trending
videos, shopping videos. When we click on shopping, it will show videos
related to purchases. Also have music,
movies and shows, live videos, gaming, news,
and many other things. They've categorized content
into specific categories. So when we use the
Explore option, we can find trending videos on specific topics
within the platform. Additionally, we have the
option to search for channels. Just type here and click the search button to search
for a specific channel. We also have the
YouTube premium option, which is basically
a subscription on the YouTube platform, where you pay a monthly fee of around 20 rays to watch
videos without ads. Another advantage of subscribing to YouTube premium is that you can watch videos and listen to music
completely offline. For some people, subscribing to YouTube premium
might make sense, while for others, it may not. Going back to the
left side again, we also have YouTube
Music and YouTube Kids. YouTube music is essentially a music platform
similar to Spotify, but in this case, it's
YouTube's own music platform. We also have YouTube Kids, which is YouTube
specifically for children. So if you have a
child or a nephew, instead of them watching
traditional YouTube, they can watch YouTube Kids. Finally, on this left side, we also have the
settings option, which are your account settings. To access it, you need to be logged into your
YouTube account. We also have a report history, a help option, and you can also send feedback
to the platform. You want to suggest
an improvement for the YouTube platform,
you can send feedback, and if you need specific help or are experiencing
a particular issue, you can click on Help and
request support from YouTube. Besides these options,
on the left side, we also have the option by
clicking on the three dots. When we click on
these three dots, we get additional options. Here, we have your
YouTube data option, which shows your data on
YouTube when you click on it. We also have the
appearance option, which allows you to change the appearance of your
YouTube platform. So I'm using the
theme from my device, which is currently
set to dark mode. I'll switch to the light theme, and consequently,
my YouTube channel will have a completely
light theme. Personally, I like to
use the default theme, which is the device theme, a dark theme that I find better. We can also change the language
of the YouTube platform. If you click here, you
can change the language. We also have this
restricted mode option, which will hide all
types of videos recommended for viewers
over 18-years-old. In other words, the algorithm will not recommend
such videos to you. This can be a useful tool if you're a reaction
streamer and want to avoid watching plus 18 videos live on
other platforms. If you want to
activate this option, just check this box, and
there's no problem at all. Besides this option, we can also change the location on
our YouTube channel. So I'm currently set to the
United States location. We also have this option
for keyboard shortcuts, which will show you
some basic keys that you can use on
the YouTube platform. I'll click the Dismiss button. And to wrap up, we have
the settings option, help, and the option
to send feedback. In summary, the YouTube
platform is basically this, a platform that
functions like a kind of television with various channels
publishing videos daily, and it's one of the most
accessed platforms in the world. YouTube pays its content
creators through advertisers. For example, let me click on this video by a
YouTuber named Mr. Beast, and we'll
see that there's an ad playing before we
even watch the video. So this advertiser is paying to host this ad on the
YouTube platform, and YouTube will
pass a portion of that payment to the
content creator. Now we can see the
content creators video right after the ad. To better understand how content creators
are compensated, let's go back to the mind
map I created for you. Well, returning to our mind map, let's understand how YouTube compensates its
content creators. Content creators on YouTube
are paid in various ways, one of which is through the
YouTube partner program, YPP which allows creators to earn money from ads
displayed on their videos. Monetization on YouTube is paid directly by advertisers
to content creators. Of course, YouTube retains
a percentage of the amount paid by advertisers and content creators
receive their share. The compensation you receive
on YouTube is not fixed. It depends heavily on the number of views you
get throughout the month. So if in a certain month
you have a lot of views, you'll most likely
receive a good amount. In the following
month you don't get as many views as in
the previous month, obviously, you'll receive less. Therefore, your income
varies and is not fixed depending on your
performance on the platform. Additionally, there
are other ways to earn money through
the YouTube platform. To start, the first way I've already mentioned
is through ads. The main way to make
money on YouTube, where creators receive
a share of the revenue generated by ads shown before
or during their videos. The second way you
can be monetized on YouTube is through superchat
and super stickers. In other words,
during live streams, viewers can pay to
have their messages or stickers highlighted
in the chat. Also have YouTube Premium, where part of the revenue from YouTube premium subscriptions is shared with content creators whose videos are
watched by subscribers. There's also the channel
memberships function. Viewers can become
channel members by paying a monthly subscription to
access exclusive benefits. And finally, the
last way you can generate revenue through YouTube is through
merchandising, where creators can sell branded products directly
through the platform. Throughout this course,
I will delve deeper into these income streams
available on YouTube. Again, I emphasize that the compensation you receive
on YouTube is not fixed. It depends heavily on the
number of views you get throughout the month as well
as other external means. I in a certain month you
have a lot of views, you'll most likely
receive a good amount. If in the following
month you don't get as many views as in
the previous month, obviously, you'll receive less. Therefore, your income
varies and is not fixed depending on your
performance on the platform. So that's it for this lesson. I'll see you in the
next one and thanks.
3. How YouTube’s Algorithm Works: So guys, in this lesson, we're going to understand what the YouTube algorithm
really is and how it works. To begin, I'm here on the computer screen
with this mind map, and we're going to
understand what an algorithm actually is before we even
get into how it works. The YouTube algorithm is a
complex system of rules that the platform uses to decide which videos will be
recommended to users. It analyzes a variety of
factors such as watch time, engagement, likes,
comments, shares, users watch history,
and much more. The goal is to personalize
the user experience by showing videos that are most relevant and interesting
to each person, helping to maintain
user engagement and satisfaction
on the platform. In other words, when we refer to the YouTube algorithm or better yet, algorithms
in general, we're talking about sets of rules that most
platforms follow, whether it's Tik Tok,
Facebook, Instagram, or even YouTube itself, to recommend videos to users. YouTube, like other
social networks, operates based on an algorithm that is not much
different from TikToks. Most of these social networks
function through algorithms because the longer
a user stays on the platform, the
better it is for them. For example, YouTube
has an algorithm designed to keep users on the platform for as
long as possible. Ah, Matthias, I didn't quite understand what
an algorithm is. I'll give a basic example. If you go to your
YouTube account into the Shorts videos tab and start watching a few videos based on the videos
you've already watched, the YouTube platform will
begin recommending videos, similar to those you've
previously watched. That's an example of what
an algorithm really is. And, Matheus, why do I, as a content creator, need to know about the
YouTube algorithm? The simple reason is that by producing content
for the platform, understanding exactly how the
algorithm works gives you a better idea of how to create the best possible video
to make it go viral. That's precisely why
it's important to understand how the platform's
algorithm functions. So how does the
YouTube algorithm work? Let's go down here. The YouTube algorithm uses a complex set of rules to
suggest videos to users, analyzing several
factors to determine the relevance and
quality of the content. In other words, the YouTube
algorithm doesn't rely on just one rule to base itself on when recommending
a video to others. It has a whole set
of rules behind it. Remember the example I
gave about watch history. Based on the videos you
watch on the platform, YouTube itself will start recommending videos similar
to the ones you've watched. Are also other sets
of rules that apply. If, for example, you don't necessarily watch
the entire video, but you engage with it
by liking, sharing, or even commenting,
the algorithm may understand that
this is a type of video you enjoy and start recommending
similar videos to you. Even the videos where you have
a higher watch retention, the algorithm will recognize that this content
is interesting. Even the videos where you have
a higher watch retention, the YouTube algorithm will recognize that this is a type of content you're
interested in and will start recommending
similar content. Continuing, I've
separated various sets of rules that the platform uses
to recommend your content. To start, the first rule, which is very
important for you as a content creator to
follow is watch retention, and what exactly is
watch retention? As the name suggests, watch retention is one of the most important factors that influence the
YouTube algorithm. Basically, it refers to how long viewers spend watching
a particular video. There are two main types of retention that the YouTube
algorithm considers. So when we talk about
watch retention, we're referring to
how much time you spend watching a
particular video. If hypothetically, you publish
two videos on the platform and one of them has
a low retention rate while the other has a
high retention rate, the video with the high
retention rate will be viewed positively by
the YouTube algorithm, and it will start recommending that content to other people
with similar interests. When we talk about watch
retention on YouTube, it has two main aspects. The first aspect is retention
in the first few seconds. In other words, the
YouTube algorithm values the retention of the
first few seconds of a video. If viewers remain engaged
in the initial moments, it signals to the
algorithm that the content is attractive and worth
showing to more people. Is a very important point
for you to know because before you even start
the entire process of creating your video, you should think about how
to capture attention in the first few seconds to
ensure good initial retention. It's crucial to grab
as much attention as possible during the first
seconds of the video. It's natural for retention to drop as the video progresses, but the first few seconds
are key to securing a view, and the algorithm
will recognize if the content is indeed interesting
to recommend to others. The other aspect
of retention that the YouTube algorithm also considers is overall
watch retention. In other words, retention throughout the entire
video is also important. Videos that are watched until the end indicate a high level of interest and are more likely to be promoted
by the algorithm. As I mentioned, retention in the first few seconds of your
video is very important, but ensuring high
retention until the end of the video is even
more crucial for the algorithm to understand
that this type of content is relevant and to start recommending
it to others. This is one of the
sets of rules that the YouTube algorithm relies on to recommend your
videos to other people. The second set of
rules is the click through rate known as CTR. What exactly is that?
The frequency with which users click on the video after seeing it in
their recommendations. High CTR suggests
that the title and thumbnail are attractive and
relevant to the audience. How does this work
in practice Matheus? Well, I'm here on
the YouTube homepage where we see numerous videos. The CTR or click through rate, as the name suggests, is basically the number of
clicks your video receives. For example, if we open
the YouTube homepage, various videos from different
YouTubers will appear. This counts as an impression
of the thumbnail. If you click on the video, it will slightly increase
the channel's CTR. And consequently, the YouTube
algorithm will also start recommending that
YouTubers channel due to an attractive
title or thumbnail. Of course, it also needs to
have good watch retention. If you combine these
two characteristics, the platform's
algorithm will start recommending your
content even more. How can I get a higher click through rate on my
videos, Matthias? Well, one tip I can give to increase your CTR or better yet, the click through rate
on your videos is to put a lot of effort
into your thumbnails. Create eye catching
thumbnails to attract more people to
click on your videos. A practical example
we can use involves two YouTube channels that
publish similar content. The first channel created a thumbnail that
wasn't very appealing, resulting in a low CTR. Meanwhile, the
second channel made a very attractive
thumbnail related to the video and as a result, achieved a high CTR or
click through rate. The YouTube algorithm will
analyze these two videos and start recommending the content with the higher
click through rate. Therefore, this is a way to use the click through rate
to your advantage. Always strive to stand out by creating more attractive
thumbnails than your competitors so you can achieve a higher CTR on YouTube. Another factor we should
consider regarding how the YouTube algorithm works is the user's history
and watched videos. What do you mean, Matheus? I didn't quite get
that. Well, basically, the YouTube algorithm uses
a channels search history, views and recently
watched videos to suggest relevant content that aligns
with the user's interests. This is a metric
that we can't fully control when it comes to
the YouTube algorithm. Based on this
factor, for example, if you watch videos from
a particular YouTube, the YouTube algorithm will start recommending videos based on your recent search
and viewing history. So let's say you've
been watching videos related to finance. The YouTube algorithm will begin recommending more finance
related videos to you. In addition to watch history, there's the engagement factor, which is very important
for the YouTube algorithm. When a video receives many
likes, comments, and shares, the algorithm
understands that it's high quality and
interesting content, increasing the likelihood of it being recommended
to other users. This is also a
crucial factor that the YouTube algorithm considers when recommending your
videos to others. That's why throughout the video, it's helpful to ask for likes, comments, subscribers, and shares to further boost
the platform's algorithm. There are appropriate times and ways to ask for engagement during the video
so that it's not annoying and even
makes the process fun. Another important
factor that benefits the YouTube algorithm is SEO. When we talk about SEO, if you're not familiar with it, it stands for search
engine optimization. In other words, using
trending keywords and hashtags can increase
the visibility of your content on YouTube. This allows your video to
be more easily found when users search for specific topics or trends on the platform. In other words, good
SEO work can enhance the algorithm's effectiveness
in YouTube's search engine. If someone searches for
a particular video and your video has strong SEO with good keywords and hashtags, it will have greater visibility in YouTube's search engine. This is a crucial factor for increasing your
views even further. In summary, understanding how the YouTube algorithm works and the important
sets of rules for getting your video
recommended will give you a different perspective on how to create the best
video on the platform.
4. Mastering YouTube Studio: So everyone, in this lesson, I'm going to explain what YouTube Studio is
and how it works. To begin, let's refer back to that same mind map I presented to you
earlier about YouTube, and I'll explain what
YouTube Studio actually is. YouTube Studio, as
the name suggests, is a tool for content creators
to manage their channels, videos, audience
interactions, analytics, editing, comment
management, and much more. Offers a centralized
platform for creators to efficiently monitor and improve the performance
of their content. In other words, when we
talk about YouTube Studio, we're referring to the
YouTube for content creators, where we can publish videos, configure our videos, manage
our channels branding, and use many other features. To access YouTube Studio, I'm here on the
YouTube homepage, and the process to
enter is very simple. I'm using a channel that I've specifically reserved
for these lessons. You'll click on your logo
after creating your channel. It's worth noting that if you don't have a YouTube
channel yet, there will be a specific
lesson teaching you how to create a Gmail account
along with a YouTube channel. But it's a very simple process. So after creating your channel, these other options will appear. You'll click on YouTube Studio, which is the environment for content creators entirely different from
traditional YouTube. Inside YouTube Studio,
we have numerous tools, and right away, we can view
the channel's statistics. Here, we can analyze the current statistics
of our channel. For example, this channel has
around 3,080 subscribers. In the last 28 days, we've had a total
of 259 views and more than 2 hours of watch
time within those 259 views. This channel has few views, mainly because I haven't been
publishing videos on it. I'm not yet sure if
I'll continue with this channel since it's
a Minecraft channel. In fact, I'll open its
homepage so you can see it. It's a Minecraft channel I created where I publish
several shorts. In the short section, I'll select the most popular videos. Some of my videos reached
over 20,000 views, 10,000 views, and so on. It's basically a channel I created as a test for
something bigger later on. During this testing period, I managed to gain a total
of 3,080 subscribers. Obviously, some people
unsubscribed because I haven't been publishing videos,
which is understandable. Here, right at the start, we can see the
channel's statistics. In addition, we also have the performance of the
most recent video, where we can see the number of views the video has received. For example, 51 views the
click through rate CTR, which I mentioned
in the lesson about the YouTube algorithm and
the average watch time. Another very important metric
is the average watch time. If this metric is close to
the length of your video, it means you had a great
average watch time. Besides these options, we
have the YouTube Newstab published videos where we
can see the entire history. Below that, we can see the
most recent subscribers. By clicking on CAL, we can
view all the subscribers, the number of subscribers
these people have, and the date they subscribe. Going back, we also
have the option to view the most recent
comments where we can see all the comments
on our videos. If you click on the Seymour
button, for example, it will open the
comments tab where you can respond to
your subscribers. In this case, it's set to show comments I haven't
responded to yet. If I uncheck this box, it will also show comments
I've already replied to marked with a heart or
taken some other action on. It's very important to maintain a certain level of interaction with your audience so that they become loyal to your channel. Returning to our YouTube
Studio dashboard, we have these other options
below the channel statistics. By clicking this button, you can access your
channel's analytics. For example, we're in
YouTube analytics, where we can view
more detailed metrics about our videos
and our channel. There will be a specific
lesson on this tool, but I'll show you a
bit of how it works. Initially, in the
channel statistics, we have an overview where we can see the views from
the last 28 days, the watch time of our videos, and also the number
of subscribers. In the last 28
days, for example, I lost a total of
ten subscribers. Some days, I gain subscribers, like on this day when I gained one subscriber and on another
day, I gained another one. In terms of views, YouTube shows a graph of the
performance of our views. Scrolling down, YouTube displays your top content
during this period, meaning the content
that generated the most views in
the last 28 days. Matheus, can this period
be changed? Yes, it can. If we select the last 90 days, a larger graph will
appear because I was publishing videos
during that period. We can change the month to view another period,
such as February. When applying this change, we can see that in February, I had a total of 11,000 views, 116 hours watched and
gained 65 subscribers. I didn't publish many
videos in February, but if we scroll down, we'll see that the
top content has already changed,
displaying other videos. If I change this
metric, for example, to January 2023 and apply it, another metric will
appear because I was also publishing videos
during that period. We can view another month like December Remember to first
select the start date, then the end date, and
finally click on Apply. In December, for example, I had a total of 152,000 views. This was the month
when I published the most videos on this channel. As I was very focused on the
performance of this test, I received many
views, watch hours, and gained a lot of subscribers, totaling 1,400 new subscribers
just during this period. During this time, one of my
videos had 21,000 views. Within your main content
for this period, another video reached
20,000 views and so on. Besides the overview option, we also have the
real time option, which is essentially
YouTube Analytics, providing up to date
information about your channel. For example, the current number
of subscribers is 3,080. If this number increases, it will automatically
update just like the number of views
in the last 48 hours, which is currently 19. Below that, you can see the most watched videos during
this time frame. At the top, you can see a
bar chart showing the times when your subscribers are most
active in watching videos. Scrolling down, you'll see the most recent content similar to the YouTube
Studio dashboard. In addition to the overview, there's also the content option. In this tab, you can view even more detailed metrics
related to your videos. For example, you can see how many people liked
your videos during a specific period out of
a total of 11,000 likes, I gained 1,000
hundred subscribers. It's important to note
that many of them subscribed during a period when I wasn't publishing videos. There are many other
metrics available. Scrolling down
further, you can see exactly where your channel's
views are coming from. For example, under how viewers
found My Shorts videos, 94% of these views came
from the Shorts feed, representing the
majority of views. Next, are views generated
through YouTube search, the Channel page,
and other sources. This function allows you to know exactly where your video
views are coming from, which is essential for further optimizing the process
and gaining more views. If you click on traffic source, you'll see the external
sources that generated views, such as an unknown website
that generated only 0.1% of the traffic,
which is really low. I also generated views through
WhatsApp Google Search, YouTube, and Mozilla Firefox. In the search option,
you can discover which keyword terms most helped
people find your content. For example, when clicking on YouTube search terms
like Minecraft, Naldino, Sonic shorts,
and so on appear. If you click on
suggested videos, you'll see the videos
where your video was suggested to others. Obviously, I had few views
through suggested videos, so this metric isn't
very relevant to me. Conclude, we have the
playlists option where we can see which playlists generated the most views for
my channel's videos. Additionally, we
have other options here like seeing who chose
to view our content. In the case of shorts, this
can be considered a form of CTR because the video is
shown in the person's feed. For example, 289,000 people
saw the video in their feed, but what really counts as a view is who chose
to watch the video. Out of all the people
who saw the video, 52% chose to watch it. Going back up, we can switch these metrics from
content to video. It's important to highlight
that videos and shorts are entirely different things within the YouTube platform. But, Matheus, isn't
it all video? Yes, it's video, but
the YouTube platform considers videos and shorts
as distinct categories. For short videos, shorts, we'll see the metrics
for the shorts, and in the video
option, we'll see the metrics for the videos
during that period. For example, I had a
total of 41 impressions, which resulted in 15 views. This gave me a
click through rate, CTR of 31.7%, which is
considered very high. I would say that this
is an excellent CTR, and I also had an
average watch time of 1 minute and 38 seconds. Would need to analyze
the video length to determine if this
is really good. But with such a high
click through rate, CTR of around 31%, it's an excellent result. It's important to note
that this rate may have been influenced by the low
number of impressions. If there were more impressions, the CTR would likely be
slightly lower than 31%. In the all option, we can find all the metrics, such as which types of
videos had the most views, which generated the most
subscribers and so on. In the A tab, we can find
metrics for almost everything, such as the types of videos
that generate the most views, the most subscribers, the most published types of content, where visitors find
my channel and average daily views
per published video. To conclude, in the
content option, we have impressions and how
they generated watch time. In this case, I had a total of 11,000 impressions
on my content, and about 36% of
all my content was recommended by the platform to other people, which
is very good. Below, you can see
the click through rate CTR across all my videos. My click through rate
is good above 10%, which is considered
a great rate. Additionally, I can see the
views from impressions, which totaled six oh six. It's worth noting that
since I had a lot of views, these were generated by
shorts and regular videos. Shorts don't generate
impressions, so consequently, I didn't have that many impressions
on my videos. If I had published
more regular videos, the number of impressions
would likely be much higher. Finish, we also have the metric for average watch
time per impression. In my case, the
average watch time is relatively high,
which is positive. We also have the
audience option. Within this option, we can access detailed information
about our audience. For example, we can see
which channels related to the content we publish are most watched by our subscribers. At the top, we find data on returning
visitors to the channel, unique viewers, and also
the number of subscribers. Scrolling down, we can analyze which videos most
increase our audience. YouTube shows the videos that generated the most subscribers, as well as a metric
on the content your audience most
frequently watches. Since I'm not currently
publishing videos, this metric isn't
displayed for me. Further down we find
information about the top regions that
watch our videos. For example, 58%
of the views come from Brazil while the rest
come from other countries. But, Matis, how are you getting views from
other countries? Basically, this type of content doesn't require me to
speak to be published. I'll even show you
one of these videos. It's content that simply plays
music and shows an action, which consequently generates
views in other countries. Additionally, in the
subscriber watch time metric, we see that non subscribers
tend to watch much more, accounting for about 99.5% of the views while
subscribers watch less. I believe this metric
turned out this way because it was the
first month of my channel, so most of the views came
from non subscribed people. You can also see if
people are watching your videos with or
without subtitles. Finally, we have a metric for the age and gender
of our audience. Of my entire audience, 54% are male and 45% are female. Further down, we can see
the average age range of the audience that most
frequently watches our videos. Returning to the search option, there are other
available features. This option is very useful, but it's not yet fully
functional here in Brazil. If this tool improves, I'll create an exclusive
lesson just about it. However, it's a very good
tool because it allows you to track the search volume
for a specific keyword, especially keywords in English
and in other countries. Back in our YouTube
Studio dashboard, we find other options. For example, we can
analyze the statistics of a specific video as
well as view comments. You already know how
to view comments, but to see the statistics, just click on Access
Video statistics. This takes us to a page similar to the
channel's analytics, but focused on a specific video. Here you'll find all the
information such as views, watch time, and subscribers. In the reach option,
there's information about the audience's interaction with the video among other metrics. I believe there's
no need to explain each metrics function
in more detail. Turning to YouTube Studio, we have the content
option where we can manage all the videos we've
published on the platform. On this page, you
can set whether the video will be private,
unlisted, or public. In my case, I prefer
to keep my videos public because there's no
reason to keep them private. If you check the
selection boxes, you can also make bulk changes. For example, by clicking
Edit All videos, you can make bulk edits, such as adding a default
description to all videos. In my case, I won't do this, but this function allows you to add a common description
to all videos. If you want to monetize
all your videos, you can also do
that collectively. For example, if you
monetize your channel now, you could check all the boxes, find the monetization option, and enable it for all videos without having to do it
manually one by one. You want to add all
videos to a playlist, you don't need to do
it manually either. Just click on AD, select
the desired playlist, and apply it to all videos. In the more options section, you can delete all videos,
but I won't do that. In the restrictions option, it will show if any video has
restrictions such as music, country or other issues. In the date column, you can see the publication
date of the videos, along with the views, comments, and the percentage of likes
and dislikes on your videos. Are numerous other options
available, such as editing. If you click on Edit, you can configure and
customize your videos. This includes
selecting and filling in a title, adding
a description, and either inserting
a custom thumbnail or using the default
YouTube thumbnails. You can also set the video to be public, private, and so on. Additionally, you
can edit subtitles, add video cards, and
adjust other settings. An interesting feature is
setting the audience type, specifying whether the content is intended for children or not. If you click the
Show More button, even more options
will be displayed. If your video is sponsored, you can check this box to indicate that it is
a sponsored video. Below, you can add tags
and many other things. You can complete the entire
video editing process here. Still within this screen, we have the analytics
for our video, which I've already shown you
and also the editor option. In this case, it's
YouTube's own video editor. Personally, I don't know
anyone who uses this tool. We also have the options
for comments and subtitles if you want to add
subtitles to your videos. If the video has received
any copyright restrictions, whether for music or misuse of specific content, it
will appear here. In my case, nothing appears because I'm not
violating any rules. Further down, other extra
options will be displayed. Leaving our video, we also
have the community function. For example, the community tab allows you to enter
a specific channel. I'm going to access a friends
channel called Jaqinho Dog, who has a Minecraft channel. Once in his channel, I click
on the Community button. The community is basically a tool where you can interact
with your subscribers. He makes posts and engages
with his subscribers. So here in posts, for example, all the types of posts I've made on my channel will appear, and there will also be an
option to create a new post. I'm going to create
a practical post. Within my channel, I click on Community and can create a post. I'll write hello everyone
and click the Post button. I want to publish an image, I can select that option or even create a poll
among other things. I'll post this and see how
it looks. Hello, everyone. If we refresh the post page, my post will appear.
Hello, everyone. In my case, I'll delete
this post because there's no reason to keep it active
since this is a test channel. Going back, we also have
the playlists option. All the playlists you've created on your channel
will be displayed. Additionally, there's a newly launched tool
called podcasts, which can be interesting if you focus on the podcast niche. It provides full support for setting up your
playlist and more. In my case, this tool
won't be very useful. Continuing with the
YouTube Studio overview, we have the Analytics option, which I've already explained earlier, so I'll skip this part. Comments option has
also been explained. We also have the
subtitles option where we can set up subtitles
for our videos. Here, all the videos
will appear with subtitles either in draft
or already published. If you started creating a
subtitle and didn't finish it, it will show up as a draft, so there's no need to worry. To customize a subtitle, select the specific video and the language in which you
intend to add the subtitle. I'll select Chinese
as an example. I've added Chinese to
configure my subtitle. To configure it, we need
to set up the title and description of how
the video will be displayed to those who
speak this language. This involves a translation
process which can be done using Google Translate or
even ChatGPT, for example. In the subtitle section, click the ad button and start typing the
subtitles manually. If you already
have the subtitles ready, you can upload the file. We have two options that are
disabled because this is a music video and there
is no spoken content. Consequently, these tools
will remain disabled. But they are YouTube
tools that perform the automatic subtitle
insertion process in your videos as well as
automatic synchronization. In other words, YouTube's
AI automatically syncs your subtitles
to the correct timing. Returning to YouTube Studio, we also have the
copyright option, which I've already explained. I'll explain again.
This option is where if you have any
restrictions on your videos, whether for improper
use of music, images or video, you will receive a notification
here about copyright. If you receive a strike on your channel related
to copyright, the notification will appear
exactly here in this tab. Since I'm in compliance,
nothing appears for. Additionally, we have
the monetization option. Here is where you can activate monetization for your channel. In the specific lesson on
monetization on YouTube, I'll explain how the
monetization process works and the different income streams you can generate
on the platform. I'll give a brief spoiler. How can you monetize
your channel? Are two ways to monetize. The first is traditional
monetization, where you need to
reach a minimum of 1,000 subscribers and
achieve a total of 4,000 watch hours across all your videos in
the last 365 days, meaning within a
one year period. Once you reach this number of
views in the last 365 days, along with the goal
of 1,000 subscribers, your channel will be
eligible for monetization. It's important to
note that the 4,000 watch hours metric is only
valid for traditional videos. Shorts do not count
toward this metric. The watch time is only valid
for traditional videos, and this allows you to activate monetization for your channel through watch hours
in the past year. Another way to monetize your
channel is through shorts. However, this metric
is a bit high. You need to reach 10 million
views in the last 90 days. Although this goal seems high, it's not too
difficult to achieve, considering that shorts are
heavily promoted by YouTube. Algorithm pushes these
videos more frequently, allowing you to get a lot of
views and grow even faster. After following some
of these two rules, you just need to complete the remaining steps
such as verifying your account and setting up additional security
configurations for your channel. Make sure to follow the
community guidelines, especially regarding
copyright and comply with some of
these checkboxes. You can submit a
request to YouTube itself where they will
review your channel. This process usually takes
about one to two days. After they review your channel, you will receive a response and your channel can
become monetized. That's basically how the
monetization option works. Now, on another channel,
this is my main channel, which is already monetized. The monetization tab
looks entirely different. We have the ads option where ads are enabled on my videos. These are all the videos
where ads are activated, including ads on shorts videos. In my case, since I don't publish Shorts videos
on this channel, there are no stats
related to Shorts videos. There is also the channel
memberships option where we can find
the total number of members on our channel. YouTube membership
program allows you to build a kind of community
within the platform. Members pay a certain monthly
fee for their subscription. I personally charge 0.26 per
month as a symbolic fee. I don't have many members, mostly because I haven't been publishing many videos
on this main channel. Currently, I have only
one active member. This is the revenue generated in the last 28 days just
from that one member. If we look deeper, we can see which videos generated
the most new memberships, which can help you gain
even more members. This allows you to identify which type of video
attracts more memberships. There's also the
option for supers. This supers option includes
superchat and super stickers, essentially donations that you can receive on your videos. I've received
numerous donations, and it would be
interesting if YouTube provided specific metrics
for these donations. There's also a merchandise
option where you can add a store to your channel
and other features. That's basically how
monetization works. Additionally, we have
the customization option where we can customize
our channel. Here we can
personalize playlists, videos, channel trailers, and featured videos
for non subscribers. We can also configure
the channel's branding. It's possible to create a logo, a banner, and even add
a watermark to videos. There are also advanced details we can add to the channel, such as changing the channel
name and the handle, which is a kind of
username for the channel. You can also add a
description for the channel, set up links, and
contact details. The contact details option
is very important as it allows potential sponsors to
reach out to you via email. These contact details will be found in the about
section of your channel. Additionally, there's the
audio library option. There will be a specific
lesson just on this tool. In short, it's a tool
where we can find royalty free music completely free within the
YouTube platform. Another option to conclude
the lesson is in settings, which are the advanced settings
related to your channel. Will be a specific lesson
where I will set up our channel using this
Advanced Settings option. In the YouTube dashboard, we also have the Create option. Here you can upload
videos, go live, create new posts,
create a new playlist, and even start a new podcast. For example, if you
want to upload a video, simply click on the
Upload Video button. You can drag the video
into this option or click the Select Fils button to choose the video
you want to publish. After selecting, you'll proceed with the configuration process. That's how the YouTube
Studio platform works. I hope you enjoyed this lesson. See you in the next one,
a big hug and thank you.
5. 2 Paths with YouTube: One of the first
things you need to know when you're interested in becoming a content creator
is that there are two paths. What do you mean, Matheus?
I don't understand. There are two paths you
have to choose from depending on which direction you intend to take
with your channel. These two paths are
nothing more than timeless content
and timely content. What do you mean by that? What on Earth are
you talking about? When we refer to
timeless content, we're talking about content that regardless of when someone
watches a particular video, will still be relevant to them. This is nothing more, nothing
less than a timeless video. Can you give some examples
of timeless videos? For example, tutorial content tutorial videos are
certainly timeless, because regardless of when someone publishes
a tutorial video, it may still be
useful to someone watching it many years
after its publication. This is an example
of a timeless video. Other examples of
timeless videos include content
related to stories, documentaries,
channels about series, movies, cartoons, anime, and gaming channels,
whether in the form of gameplay or videos related to the history of
the game itself, there are countless
other types of content that we can highlight
as timeless content. In other words, when we talk
about timeless content, we're referring to any
type of video that you can publish and it will remain
relevant in the long term. Regardless of when
someone watches it, the video will still be
valuable to the viewer. This is timeless content. I like to use an analogy
for timeless content as a seed because you always reap the benefits
in the long term. Had numerous YouTube channels, and one of them focused
solely on timeless content. I had the mindset of
posting a daily video, and the analogy I used was, I'm planting a seed today. Then after about a year, my channel was monetized. The videos I was posting daily continued to bring in
even more views for me, and consequently, my
channel was monetized. It was generating a great income simply from doing nothing. This was because the
type of content I was focusing on was
timeless content. So based on my analogy, I was planting seeds and
overtime reaping the rewards. On the other hand,
timely content, as the name suggests, is the kind of content that lasts for only a short period. Do you want some examples? Videos related to news driven by a certain hype around
the news you're covering are the kind of content
that usually lasts between a day and
at most a week. In other words, only during that period will people
watch your video. This is, in fact,
timely content. As it's the type of content that will last for a short time. For example, if
you're working in the gaming niche and a
specific game is released, you could make a video about the announcement of
that game's release. This would be timely content because after the
game's release, people won't have a reason
to watch your video. Another example
could be if you have a channel about the Geek
world covering series, movies, anime, and
many other things. And then a particular series announces that it will
have a new season. You could make a video related
to the announcement of this new season and share your thoughts on what
might happen, for example. And in this case, you'll only gain views until the
season is released. After the release, people won't have a reason to watch
your specific video. So when we talk about
timely content, it's the type of content
that functions like a wave, and as a content creator,
you have to ride the waves that come
your way daily. And, Matthias, you titled
this lesson as two paths. Should I choose a specific
path to follow for my channel? Not necessarily. A
channel is only truly good when it combines
both of these paths. From the moment you
manage to merge your channel with both
timely and timeless content, it's even better for your
growth as a content creator. Of course, there are
various YouTubers who only follow a single path. There are YouTubers,
for example, who focus solely on
timely content like news, while others focus
on timeless content, always aiming for the long term. Deciding which path you want to follow with your channel
depends on your niche. In some niches, it's beneficial to work with just one path. In other niches, for example, it's beneficial to
combine both paths. You can work with both
timely and timeless videos. A practical example, I
have a friend who has a finance channel and
publishes three videos a week. Of those three videos, two are timeless content
aiming for the long term, and one of them is timely
content, which is hype driven. Matios, where does he get the content ideas to
publish videos every week? When I show you how to come
up with content ideas? I'll show you some strategies, but to give you a brief spoiler, it's a good idea to pick up
on news or events related to your niche as a content creator and make a video about it. The great thing about focusing
on both paths when you're a content creator is that
with timeless content, you're planting seeds
for the long term. With timeless content, you're gaining even
more subscribers. In the short term, you
tend to grow and gain many subscribers
during the high period of that news or
event, for example. It's even great to
ride as many waves as possible related to the
niche you intend to work in. So that's all for this lesson. These are the two paths every content creator
needs to know. I hope you enjoyed this lesson. I'll see you in the next one. A big hug and thanks.
6. Finding Your Niche on Youtube: How to Define and Validate a Niche: Now that you understand
the two paths a content creator should take, in this lesson, I'm going to introduce you to
something very important. What a niche really is, the importance of
defining your niche and the characteristics needed to define a niche for
your YouTube channel. So I'm here with this mind map. To start, let's understand
what a niche really is. A niche is a specific
area that brings together a group of people with common interests and needs. For example, someone
might create a channel dedicated to
topics like vegan cooking, makeup tutorials, fitness tips, financial education, or
even specific video games. Of these niches serves an
audience of people looking for specialized content and relevant information on
particular subjects. In other words, when we
refer to the word niche, we're talking about a
category of content that focuses on a group of people
with common interests. We have niches for
gaming content, history, movies, and
series, and so on. You're thinking about
becoming a content creator, whether on YouTube,
blogs, Instagram, or numerous other
social media platforms, one of the first
questions you should ask yourself is what niche? Or rather, what type of content
do you aim to work with? If you create a
profile and produce content without defining a
niche before even starting, it will confuse the algorithm of your profile,
limiting your growth. And, Matheus, what are the advantages of
defining a niche? I've outlined some advantages
in the mind map to describe the benefits of defining a niche before you start
producing content. The first advantage
I've noted for you is greater authority
and expertise. What does that mean, Mathias? By focusing on a niche that you enjoy and
have knowledge about, you can become an
expert in the subject. This not only increases your credibility but also strengthens the trust
of your audience. Over time, you can
become a reference. And when people search for
this type of information, they will find your content
in that specific niche. In other words, this is one of the main advantages of defining a niche as
a content creator, the likelihood of
becoming an expert and further improving
your credibility in a particular subject. Let's suppose
hypothetically that you really like history, already have a deep
knowledge of it and decide to become a content
creator on YouTube, Instagram, or numerous
other social networks. You start posting your first
videos, and over time, you'll become an
expert on the subject, further enhancing your
credibility because you're working in a niche with which
you're already familiar. Another advantage of
defining a niche as a content creator is
less competition. What do you mean,
Mathias? I don't get it. Why would defining
a niche result in less competition for
me? Here's the thing. Choosing a specific niche
that you enjoy and have knowledge about allows you to become an authority
in that subject. This reduces your competition because when you stand
out in a specific field, the competition
becomes less relevant. After all, those who
provide high quality, unique content in a specific
niche naturally stand out. Other words, by defining a niche that you
like and already have some knowledge in and by producing high
quality content, the competition will
be greatly minimized. You'll be delivering
higher quality content, and any competition
that arises will be quite irrelevant to you
as a content creator. That's why I emphasize
this point so much. One of the most important
things you should do before even becoming a content
creator is to ask yourself, what is the best niche
in which I can Excel? When you choose a
specific niche that you already have some knowledge of and can dive deeper into, gaining credibility,
it can provide you with less competition
in content creation. The final advantage I've highlighted in
defining a niche as a content creator is a stronger connection
with your audience. By focusing on a specific
niche that you enjoy, you'll establish
authority in that niche and create a direct line of communication
with your audience. This makes people more
interested in your content, creating a sense of community, increasing engagement, and
fostering follower loyalty. This is one of the
significant advantages of defining a niche
as a content creator, because by becoming an
authority in a specific niche, you improve your connection with your audience and
build loyalty among followers who will
watch all your videos simply because
you're a reference in that particular niche. So these are some advantages
you'll have by defining a niche before starting the
content creation process. But, Matthias, how
do I choose a niche? Scrolling down
here, I've outlined some characteristics you can use as a basis for choosing a content
niche to work in. One of the first ways is by
selecting personal interests. Do you go about this process? I've noted three
steps you can follow. The first is to make a list
of your likes and interests. Write down what you enjoy doing, the types of content you consume the most
on the Internet, whether on YouTube, Instagram, Tik Tok, or other
social media platforms. This will help you identify niches where you have
greater affinity. Working with a type
of content that you like and are already
comfortable with significantly increases
the probability of becoming an authority
in that particular area. That's why I recommend
this approach of listing your personal interests and likes to potentially
create content. Another way to choose
a niche is by asking others do you do
this in practice? Friends and family can give suggestions on types of
content that suit you. They may notice skills or interests that you
haven't recognized. This is interesting and can be a useful exercise before
defining a niche. Ask people close to
you who know you well, and they can suggest types of
content you could work on. You can note down
these suggestions, even if you don't
follow all of them. But this exercise,
combined with the list of personal interests and
likes, can be very helpful. Wrap up the topic of personal
interests and preferences, the last approach I'd
recommend for choosing a type of content is to
reflect on your experiences. Areas where you've already
had experience or intend to study can be promising niches to start as
a content creator. Your personal experience can add a unique perspective
to your content. This means you can
start producing content in a niche where you're already an expert or in a niche you intend to
delve into an explore. A practical example
is a close friend who had an interest in
finance and economics. Always worked in a
different field and never really delved
deeply into economics, but he started creating
content based on the knowledge he had about
finance and economics, and as he dug deeper into the subject, he
gained credibility. He didn't initially know much
about the topic in depth, but he started
with what he knew. As he produced content, he continued to delve
into the subject, further enhancing his authority and credibility in the niche. This is one way to choose a
niche, selecting interests, personal preferences, possible
experiences you've had, and experiences
you plan to have. Make a complete list
of the niches you've identified and choose the
one that's ideal for you. Another way to choose a niche is by identifying market trends. You can observe
competitors by analyzing other content creators and
niches you're interested in. This can provide
insights and give you a sense of trends in
that specific niche. Watching international
content is also an interesting
strategy because often trends in specific
niches start in other countries and take
time to reach your country. Exploring international
content can give you a holistic
view, or in other words, an out of the box perspective, helping you anticipate trends that haven't yet arrived
in your country. Happens frequently. Many
niche and sub niche models first emerge outside
your country before reaching the
national market. When you watch other
content creators abroad, you can anticipate
possible trends that might arrive here. An example of this
is the type of react content or
reaction videos. This style of content wasn't very popular here in my country, but was already quite
common in other countries. However, in my country, this content gained popularity, especially during
the 20 pandemic, when the react content
style expanded even. This is an example of
a content niche that started abroad and then gained momentum in
the national market. By watching content
from other countries, you can bring trends
that are already popular there to
your own country. Another practical example is
the drop shipping market, which involves selling products without the need for inventory. This business model, along with the related content
niche started abroad. Imagine if you had already been studying the
international market and knew about drop
shipping becoming a pioneer in this
subject in your country, that would be very
beneficial for you, both in terms of authority
and market opportunities. The last method I
use to identify market trends and choose a niche is by
analyzing hashtags. You can take your
list of interests and personal preferences and
search for hashtags in each corresponding
niche to analyze metrics and gain insights not only about the
niche as a whole, but also about sub niches
within that specific niche. I talk about sub niches, I'm referring to subcategories
within a larger niche. For example, in
the gaming niche, we have several sub niches
like game react videos, gameplay, game stories, game story summaries,
among others. So sub niches are basically subcategories encompassed
within a specific niche. But what are the
characteristics you can use to define a niche and start
producing content? There are a few
characteristics I've outlined. The first is choosing
personal interests, as I have already mentioned. Other words, choosing a niche that you enjoy and already have some knowledge about
will allow you to produce content with
greater affinity, which is crucial for success. One of the most important
aspects to consider before defining a niche and starting to create
content on YouTube, TikTok, or various
other social media platforms is to choose a specific niche that
you truly enjoy. After all, working
on something you love brings much more
satisfaction and affinity. If you start
producing content in a niche you're not
really interested in, it's likely that you
won't feel as motivated. But if you choose a niche
that you genuinely like, your dedication will
be much greater which will be reflected in
the quality of your content. This is exactly
why it's essential to define a niche
that you appreciate. Another important aspect
when choosing a niche is to observe the hashtags
related to that niche. Analyzing hashtags and
the most popular videos within the niche helps you
understand what is trending. When you search for hashtags in a niche that interests you, you can identify not only the most popular videos and trends, but also understand
which content style is performing well and
assess whether it's worth investing in
that specific niche by also analyzing the
level of competition. Another important
characteristic in choosing a niche as a content creator
is to create test videos. Before launching an official
profile, validate the niche. Create parallel profiles to test your niche and
videos and publish these videos on these
alternative profiles to validate both the
niche and the content. Before launching your
official profile, you can check whether the chosen niche is truly promising, as well as evaluate
whether the content you're producing is
relevant to the platform. Validation is optional,
depending on the person, niche, and video style. If the video is of good quality and ensures good retention, both initially and
throughout the video, as well as good engagement, it indicates that it's suitable
content for the platform. During testing, if your video has all these characteristics, it might even go viral
on the test profile. If that happens,
you might need to turn the test profile
into an official one, which has happened
to me a few times. I published some test
videos on a profile, and at one point, one of
those videos went viral. Within a week, it
reached 100,000 views and kept growing until
it hit 6 million views. That video was crucial in
helping me monetize my profile, as it helped me reach
the minimum number of followers and views required
in the last 30 days. Initially, my intention was for that profile
to be just a test, but with the video's success, I ended up turning it
into my official profile. The last aspect, while not
exactly a characteristic for defining a content
niche is a piece of advice. Be flexible and willing to
adapt to the niche you choose. Your interests and the
market can change. So it's important to always be open to adjusting
your niche as needed. Strive to evolve and
adapt to changes in the chosen niche because otherwise, you
might fall behind. I've seen cases of major
YouTubers with millions of followers who didn't adapt to new trends and ended
up losing relevance, even with a large number of
followers videos no longer get many views
because they fail to adjust to the new
market demands.
7. Popular Niches to Grow on Youtube: Previous lesson, you
learned how to choose and define your niche before
starting content production. In this lesson, I will present some niches where
you can stand out. Perhaps among the
niches I'll present, you'll find one that
sparks your interest. I've divided this list of
niches into two parts. First, we have the
successful niches you can explore with
a personal profile, and then we have the
niches for dark channels. We'll have a specific
lesson about dark channels, but to give you a preview, a dark channel is a type
of channel where you don't need to show your
face to create content. The realm of Dark channels, there's also a wide variety of successful niches
where you can Excel. Starting with successful
niches for personal profiles, I've highlighted the vlog
and lifestyle niche. In this case, these are videos where you share
your daily routine, day to day experiences, and other similar content. Videos in this style
can be interesting for you as a content
creator on YouTube. Another very interesting and
timeless niche is gaming, where you can create gameplays, game reviews, and other
related activities. We also have the education and learning niche in which
I've specialized. You can create a YouTube profile with an educational focus, sharing your skills
in video form, whether it's in
programming languages, languages, mathematics
or other areas. This is a very promising niche. I've come across many
nutritionists on Instagram and even on YouTube who produce
educational content. I've also found
physics teachers, IT instructors, and other
educators doing the same. This might be an interesting
niche for you to explore. You can build your authority in this field and eventually work on selling digital products
among other possibilities. There is also an
educational sub niche, which is tutorials and tips. You can create profiles
on YouTube and other platforms with the goal of creating tutorials and
instructional videos. On YouTube, when you
enable monetization, there's a membership feature
where you can produce exclusive content for members and you might even sell
this type of content. The monetization lessons, I'll show more
about this feature, which can be a great source
of extra income for you. In addition to selling
video lessons, you can produce content
related to tutorials, tips, tricks, and other topics. This is a niche where you can
also become an authority. Just like in the
educational niche, if you dedicate yourself, you can even become a
reference in the field. These are some niches
I've selected for you to use as a foundation for
your personal profile. Now, if you want to
build dark channels, what are the best
promising niches? I've compiled another
list of promising niches, and among these niches, I have some faceless
channels that generate passive income for me
every month on YouTube. For those interested in creating faceless channels on YouTube, you can explore the
podcast clips niche, which is very promising. If you take these podcast
clips and edit them well, you can further increase
the contents engagement. It can be very interesting
and promising. In fact, on one of
my YouTube channels, I have a profile dedicated
exclusively to podcasts. I don't make clips from
just one specific podcast, but from several based on a specific niche of people regardless of the podcast type, many podcasts allow you to create clips to
publish on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and
even other platforms. It's also possible to make
clips from videos such as streamer live streams
and regular videos. Many YouTubers and
other content creators allow you to create clips. I have a close friend who makes clips from
live streams for an influencer and has a profile with about
70,000 followers. He earns a good monthly income
from YouTube monetization. In addition to the
platform's monetization, he sells digital products
on these profiles. In the lesson on
alternative ways to make money with
YouTube monetization, I'll explain in detail
how you can do this. I spoke with this friend, and he mentioned
that in some months, the sale of digital
products generated much more income than
the monetization of his YouTube profile. Another type of profile you can develop on YouTube
is football clips. I have a cousin who runs a football clips channel
that generates many views, allowing him to monetize
on the platform. Besides these mentioned niches, you can also develop dark
profiles focused on movies, series, soap operas, cartoons,
and motivational clips. Come across many
of these profiles, both on Instagram and
especially on YouTube. They are motivational profiles that take clips from podcasts, movies, series,
and other types of content and use them
to motivate others. This type of profile can be very effective for selling
digital products. There's also a subcategory within dark channel niches
related to football. You can create a
profile exclusively for football news on YouTube, providing concise news updates. You can narrate the
content yourself, use a narrator, or even
a voiceover AI tool, which will cover in an
additional lesson to handle the narration without needing to use your own voice. Are also faceless
channels that show before and after transformations
of famous people, such as singers, actors,
journalists, among others. This is a faceless
channel niche that, depending on the approach, can be very successful. Another niche for faceless Channels is movie and
series summaries, which falls under
the subcategory of movie and series clips. This is also a very promising
niche for monetization. Lastly, we have the game clips niche where you can
take cut scenes, gameplay footage from
other content creators, or even from your own gameplay, edit them, and re
upload them on YouTube. This type of content can
also be very successful.
8. Creating Your YouTube Account and Channel: Hey, everyone. Welcome to another module of our
complete YouTube course. In this module, I'll be
showing you how to create a YouTube channel from scratch and how to set up
this channel properly. Alright, so here I am on the computer screen on
the YouTube homepage. Let's create a
channel from scratch. The process is
actually very simple, so you're going
to go to YouTube. Next, you'll click on the
sign in button, okay? Here, we'll need to log in
with our Google account. But Matheus, I don't have
a GM account. No worries. If you don't have
a Gmail account, you'll click on the
Create Account button. If you already have a Gmail or better yet a Google account, just sign in with
your Google account. All right. In my case, I'm going to create an
email from scratch. So I'll click on Create Account. Then click on for
myself to continue. Here, you can fill in
your first and last name. You can even put the name
of your YouTube channel. There's no problem
with that, so I'll put complete YouTube course
and click the Next button. Next, you'll enter
your date of birth. I'm going to enter a random date the exact day I'm
recording this video, so I'll put June June 25, and for the year, I'll
just make one up. Let's say 1999, since I know this will be an
email I won't be using. All right, folks, here we
have the gender option, and you'll select if
your gender is female, male, prefer not to
say or customize. I'll select male and
click Next to continue. In this part, you'll
choose your email address. If you already have
an existing email, you can enter it here. Since we don't have an email and are creating one from scratch, you'll click on Create
a new email address. My new email address
will be exactly this. Complete course,
Um 82 agmail.com, and I'll click the next button. In this part, we'll create a password for our
YouTube channel. So I'll enter a password here. Done, I've entered the password. Here you'll fill in the
password and then confirm it. Next, you'll click on the
next button to continue. We'll land on this page. On this page, you'll enter your phone number to complete
the confirmation process. This step in the account
creation process is optional, but for some people,
it might be required. I would say it's a
very important step to enter your phone number, because if you ever lose
access to your email, you can recover it through
your phone number. So I'm going to enter
my phone number and click the next button. You'll receive an SMS code on your phone number to confirm
your Google account. At this step, there's an option
to add a recovery email. The recovery email serves
the same purpose as the phone number to make
your account more secure. If you ever forget
your email password, having a recovery email or phone number will allow you to recover your
account easily. In my case, since this isn't
an account I'll be using, I'm going to click
the skip button. Next, we'll need to confirm some terms from the
YouTube platform. Check these two boxes, then click the Create
Account button and wait for the
process to load. All right, everyone, now
we've landed on this page. We now have our YouTube
account connected. This would be my homepage. So we've got our
YouTube account. And with this YouTube account, I can now subscribe
to channels, comment, like, dislike, and do countless other
things since I've already created my
YouTube account. However, this
doesn't necessarily mean that I've created
my channel yet. To create your channel, it's a very simple process. You'll click here and
then click on the Create a channel button. This
is the procedure. If you already have your Gmail account and you just logged in, you'll start from this point and click the Create
a Channel button. Here we'll be
selecting an image, a profile picture for
our YouTube channel. In the lesson about channel
customization and branding, we'll be working on this
point specifically. Next, we'll set a name for
our channel as an identifier. This is exactly where I'll
create my YouTube channel. Let's say I'm going to create a gaming channel on YouTube. So I'll put my name
as Matheus Games, a pretty generic name, but that's the name I chose. It's a good idea to choose a name that's unique
and stands out. All right, I'll enter
Matheus Games altogether. Done. Here you
have an identifier which works like an
Instagram or TikTok handle. In this case, it would
be a sort of username. So I'll enter 43 us Games. Instead of using A,
I'll use a four, and instead of using E, I'll use a three, and this username is
actually available. I'll click Create Channel after filling in all the
details, and that's it. My channel has been created. Matheus Games is now set up. If I click here again,
there's an option to view your channel.
We'll land on this page. If we click here again,
we'll find YouTube Studio. So inside here, as I've
already shown you, is where everything
works in practice. That's basically how you create your channel on the
YouTube platform.
9. Advanced Channel Settings: Alright, folks, after you've created your channel on
the YouTube platform, we need to proceed
with the customization and branding of your channel, which basically involves
creating a logo and a banner. So you're going to click on the customization button
within YouTube Studio. Next, you'll click on branding. This is exactly where we're going to personalize
your channel. We'll be selecting
a profile picture right here on this page. Here, we have the option
for an image and a banner. This is exactly
where you'll choose an image. So that's it, folks. That's basically how you can personalize the branding
of your channel. So that's it for this
lesson and thank you. Just kidding, if it were
another content creator, their lesson might
end just like that. However, in this
specific lesson, I'm going to show you how
to do this process in practice where you'll learn how to create a logo
for your channel, a banner, or even a watermark, whether it's a profile picture, a logo, or a banner. You can use some
editing software like Photoshop, for example, as it's one of the
software where you can create a logo for
your YouTube channel. However, we're not going to use this software to create
a logo and a banner. Ah, Matios, can I select
a picture of a character, a photo of myself or many other things for my
channel's profile picture? Yes. You can definitely
choose a photo of yourself, a character, or
many other things. There's no problem with that, but if you want to create a logo from scratch, that's fine, too. Since this is a gaming channel, specifically the
one I'm setting up, perhaps a logo with letters
wouldn't work very well, but I have other ideas. The platform you'll be using
to create our logo is Canva. So you'll access the link in the resources section and then click on the
Create a Design button. Alright? Here, we have
the option to search, and you'll type in
YouTube profile picture. YouTube profile picture
already appeared below. I'll select this option, wait for the loading process, and we'll land
right on this page. On this page, a blank
page will appear along with numerous templates
for YouTube channels. So we have logos from other people that we
can use as a reference. Here's the logo for
this specific channel. Logo is circular because
YouTube channels use circular profile pictures. So in this case, you'd need to insert an image of yourself where the image
should be circular. Here, we have
numerous logo models that we can use as examples. Look, this logo here is a great example for
my channels niche, which is related to gaming. There's also this
other logo here, which is a person's logo. You could use a photo
of yourself and make some personalized adjustments to the image of this
other channel here, which is just the
profile picture with this girl and many other models we can use to create our logo. So I really like
this specific logo. I'll just make a few minimal
adjustments to this logo. I really liked it, so
this will be the logo. I'm going to make some
adjustments to it. But before I do that, let's
go over some of the steps. If you go to the
design section and search for a specific
design model, you can select your
channel's niche, and various models related
to that niche will appear. Search for the gaming
niche to continue. A variety of images will
appear that we can use as the base for our YouTube channel profile picture, right, folks. However, in my particular case, I won't be using
these other models, so I'll stick with the
one I've selected. I'll click on the
elements button and we'll add some
additional elements here. I'll type in PC to
see if I can add a new computer graphic
or I might type gamer. Continuing on, we see various graphic elements
related to gaming. I have this model here,
but I won't use it. I'll just use it as a base to
build my logo from scratch. So I'll click the
ad page button. You can certainly
use the logos and templates available within
the Canva platform, but in my case, I'll create
a logo from scratch, right? So you'll see in the elements
section, in elements, you'll search for the niche you plan to focus on for
your YouTube channel. Let's say you're working
in the culinary niche. You'll search for culinary and various graphic
elements will appear that you
can use to create your logo related to
the culinary niche. This example applies to
other niches as well. So in my case, I'll
search for gamer, and numerous graphic
elements will show up. The first thing I'll select
is a background image, a background image
to use in my logo. So I'll type in
gamer background, which would be a background
photo related to gaming. Let's take a look at some gaming related backgrounds
we could use. Let me try typing in
cyberpunk background and see what options come up. Various backgrounds appeared. Now I'll type in
smoke background. This would be a smoky background,
a type of background. It's quite interesting to use this background. It's
a great background. So now I've already selected a background for my
YouTube channel logo. I'll go back to elements
and search for gamer. I've searched for gamer, and now we'll select
the graphic elements. I'll click on the CA button, and various elements
will appear that we can add to our
YouTube channel logo. For example, I'll insert
this particular logo here, take this logo, make a
few minor adjustments, then center the image exactly. In the text option, I'll add text below by
selecting add heading. I'll type in my channel
name Matheus Gamer. All right, I'll change the
font here, click on it. I'll select the Montserrat font, which is a font that I
even recommend you use. Additionally, I'll change
the color of this text. I'll make it white like this. I'll edit the text to say Matheus gamer or something
like that. Okay, folks. Now, I'll click on
the Effects button. You can do the same. And within this effects option, you can add some
effects to your text. In my case, I'm going
to add a neon effect, which is a very
interesting effect to use in my YouTube
channel logo. It will look
something like this. I made some adjustments
to my logo, and it will look
exactly like this. I'll reduce the size of
this image a bit, right? I'll go back to design and
select this circular template. Okay, everyone, I'll take this exact model and
then we'll copy it. All right, so we're
going to scroll down here to delete the
image of this guy. Let's copy just
these two images. You'll select both. Hold
down Control Plus together. Select both images, both
the text and the image. You customized. Selected
both with Control Plus. Go to the second image,
which would be page two and paste it with Control plus V. Your text will be
transferred there. You just need to make a
few minor adjustments. Okay, folks. This doesn't mean you're
going to use this model. Just make some
minimal adjustments. I'll make a very minor
adjustment here. I'll reduce the size
of my image a bit since a YouTube channel
image is circular, and we need to be
careful about that. I'll place Matheus
exactly like this. It looks something
like this, right? So we'll go back
to our main image. I deleted it and you'll copy
the exact model you made, select both with Control plus C, go back to the main page
and see how it turns out. Will look exactly like
this when you save this image because you use
this circular part as a base. When you upload this image
to your YouTube channel, it will already be perfectly aligned with YouTube's
platform guidelines. For example, I'm going to
delete these other images. Then I'll click the Share
button to save this image. Click the Download button. Next, you'll choose the
JPEG or PNG format. I'll leave it set
to PNG by default. Then you'll click
the Download button to download your image and done. Image has been downloaded and I now have a logo for
my YouTube channel. I'll select this image,
click the Upload button, and here we'll select exactly where we downloaded the image. I think I made some
minor adjustments, just to center it as much as possible for our YouTube logo. And it looks exactly like this. I'll click the Done button. Next, you'll click the Publish
button, and that's it. I'll click the Access button. Next, we'll continue, and our YouTube channel
logo is now set. And how do we create a banner
for our YouTube channel? The process is
similar. You'll go back to the Canva homepage. Then you'll click on
Create a design and type exactly this.
YouTube channel banner. Land on this page again where numerous banner templates
will appear that you can use as a base
to create your own. Here's an example of
one banner. We go back. We also have other banner
models like this one and so on. I'm going to do
exactly the following. At this stage, I'm
going to select a pre made banner template to
build my specific banner. So I'll be using this
particular banner as a base to create mine, but I'll make some
minimal adjustments. I'm going to copy
this background. You select it with Control
plus C. Then I'll go back, select the background
of the banner, and either paste
with Control plus V or delete the current background
and select a new one. I'll make some adjustments
to this image. Edit the background, click on Edit photo, then
click on Adjust, lower the brightness a bit, reduce the contrast slightly, and increase it a little. Obviously, I should
reduce the shadows a bit, increase the black tone a little or even better like this, as I've customized it, right? Here the name is different, and I'll change it
to Matheus Gamer. Change the font, click here, and you can select any
other type of font. But in my case, I'll
be using Montserrat. Alright, this is the
font I'll be using. We'll lower this a
bit, center the text, and increase its
size slightly, okay? It looks more
interesting this way. I'll take the same logo and
insert it here as well. This logo will be placed
roughly here or here. I'll leave it right
here at this spot. I'll just change the color
of the subscribe part and the game controller
logo to match my channel's logo.
And that's it, folks. Our channel banner turned
out exactly like this, okay? More or less like this. Save your banner. After
personalizing it, click on share again,
then click on Download. Here, you select
the same format, delete these other models so they don't download together. I only want to download the
specific banner I created. Click on Download, wait for the download process and done. Our banner has been downloaded. I'll go back to YouTube.
Select the exact banner image that I created with you. Then you'll need to center
this specific part. All right? Click on Done. You need to center this black part exactly. Click Done to continue. Then click the published
button and wait for the process to
complete and done. Our banner and logo
have been created. I refresh the page so you can see exactly
how it turned out. So this would be my
profile picture, and down here would
be my banner. And if we click on the
Visit channel button, our channel looks
exactly like this with our profile picture and the banner we just
created using Canva. Obviously, this was a pretty
simple process for us to create the branding
personalization for our channel. So that's more or less
how you can create a logo and banner for
your YouTube channel.
10. Channel Customization and Branding: Guys, after you've
customized the branding and created a banner and logo
for your YouTube channel, I'm going to show
you how to make some advanced settings
within your channel. I'm here on my computer screen, on my channel's homepage. I made some changes
to my main logo, just some minor adjustments,
mainly to the text. It turned out like this,
and to fill in and perform the advanced settings
process for our channel, you're going to click on
the YouTube Studio button. We'll land on the
YouTube Studio page. Next, you're going to do
exactly the following. Click on the Settings button. Here, we have numerous
advanced settings related to our YouTube channel. Have this option here
called default Units, where you can change
the currency you'd like to view within
YouTube Analytics. Personally, I like to
leave it in US dollars, but I'll show you how to
change it to Brazilian Ras. For example, on my
main YouTube channel, I'll click on the
Settings button and change the currency to RAs. I'll change it to Ras by
selecting Euro, right? I select it here, click
the Save button, and done. The currency conversion
will switch to Euro. Set a more recent date here, so I'll change it in
my Google analytics to the month of
September, for example. It looks like this for
the revenue this month. I published many videos, and that's exactly
how it appears. I came back to my channel, the one I was configuring. I'll keep the currency
in dollars, okay? It's important to note that
this setting is only visual. It doesn't mean that the amount you'll receive will be in As. When you receive payment
through YouTube Adsens, it's in dollars,
and automatically, when that amount hits
your bank account, it's converted to your
country's currency or even stays in dollars. It doesn't mean you'll earn the exact real values shown here. We also have this
channel option, which is a very
important this option, you'll make the
following setting. Under country of residence, you'll select the country where you're publishing your content. It's very important that
you select this option. I'll put the United States here. The keyword settings
option is where you'll configure
some SEO settings, meaning you'll insert
some keywords related to the type of content
you intend to publish. Will be a specific lesson just
about this keyword option. But to give a brief
overview, basically, you'll insert some keywords related to the niche
you plan to work in. For example, my niche
is a gaming channel, so I'll put in games, press Enter, and add names
of some popular games, too, like Resident
Evil four, God of War. Can also include the names of popular YouTubers related to the niche you intend to work in. You can add sub niches and
many other things as well. For example, I'll add sub
niches like gaming blogs, game reviews, and so on. It's important to only
insert keywords related to the niche you're working
in on the YouTube platform. After configuring this,
click the Save button, okay? I'll go back to settings
again under channel. Additionally, we have the
advanced settings option where you can make
some configurations. For example, through
this option, you can specify if your
content is for children. This option is relevant if you're creating
content for kids. For instance, you can mark that your content
is for children. In my case, I'll
select the option. No, this channel is
not made for kids. This means the content
is for everyone, but not specifically
for children, okay? There's also the option to
link Google Ads accounts. This option isn't of much
interest unless you want to run ads on Google Ads to
further promote your channel. Personally, I won't
be using this option, but if you want to, you can link your channel to your
Google Ads account here. Additionally, we have the
automatic transcription option. Transcription, in case
you are not aware, is a YouTube feature that shows your video script
as the video plays. For example, I'll
select a video from a YouTuber and see if it
has transcription enabled. Seems this YouTuber has
transcription enabled, so you click on the three dots and select Show transcript. It will display
something like this. It's been a while since
the Super Mario movie hit theaters and so on. This would be the
entire video script or rather the video transcript. This is an option you
can enable or disable so that your audience can view the transcription of your video. We also have the option to
disable interest based ads. If you select this option, personalized ads based
on viewer interests or remarketing won't be displayed on your
YouTube channel. Disabling this option isn't
ideal because when you do your YouTube channel
may generate less revenue, so it's up to you. Additionally, we have
the clips option. If you want to
allow your viewers to create clips
from your videos, you can enable this option. In case you're not familiar, a clip is when a YouTuber allows viewers to create short
clips from their videos. You can click on the three
dots and select clip, then create a video based on a specific part of
the original video. This type of clip can be
shared on your channel. Moreover, we also
have this option for other settings and even for removing content
from YouTube. This option here to manage
your YouTube account allows for some more advanced configurations
regarding your channel. For example, within this page, you can create an additional
channel or you can click on notifications to adjust
various settings for your YouTube channel. Additionally, we
have this option for video playback settings. Here, you can configure how you prefer to watch
a particular video. There's also the privacy
option where you can choose to make all your
playlists private. For example, if I deactivate
these two options, my playlists and descriptions would be visible to my audience. In my case, I'll keep
these two options enabled. It's an important feature to personalize your channel
further since it won't show which channels
you're subscribed to or the playlists
you've created over time, such as a playlist
of videos you liked. Type of playlist won't be visible to your audience
if you check this box. Additionally, we have the
connected apps option where you can connect a
specific app if you want. There's also the billing
and payments option, which is more for cases
where you plan to make purchases within
the YouTube platform. In advanced settings, you'll find your user ID
and channel ID, as well as the option
to move the channel, meaning you can
transfer this channel to another email or account. There's also the option
to delete the channel, which involves more
advanced configurations for your YouTube channel. If we go back to the feature
eligibility section, you'll see options that should be enabled on your
YouTube channel. For example, standard features
are automatically enabled, allowing you to upload
videos, create playlists, add collaborators
to those playlists, and add videos to them. In other words, the basic
functionalities within YouTube. Intermediate features, you can upload videos longer
than 15 minutes, add custom thumbnails and
conduct live streams. To access these features, you need to verify your phone number on this YouTube channel, which is essential if you plan to become a
content creator. You must have all
the necessary tools enabled within YouTube. The final configuration for
advanced features allows you to dispute copyright claims on a particular
video more quickly, create daily live streams, upload multiple videos daily, create more YouTube
shorts daily, embed your live streams
on other platforms and use external links in
your video descriptions. Last option is particularly
important if you want to include links to external
sites in your videos. It's crucial to have
this option enabled, as it also qualifies you to apply for monetization
on your channel. It's very important
to ensure that you activate these
three feature levels, standard, intermediate and advanced on your
YouTube channel. In addition to
advanced settings, we also have the option
for upload defaults. Here, you can configure a default template for
your video uploads. For example, you can
set an automatic title, description, visibility, and tags for all future
videos you publish. The description setting is particularly useful because you typically use a
consistent description for most of your videos. You can create a
standard description here that will apply to
all your future videos, requiring only minor adjustments for each new video you upload. Also have the visibility option, which I prefer to set to public. And in the tag section, you can add some tags, not necessarily all related to the specific video
you plan to upload, but tags related to your channel and the type of content
you usually post. This option works similarly to the keywords feature
within your channel. Here, you'll fill in the
keywords in a summarized way. These are the keywords that
will represent your videos. This process can
greatly assist you in optimizing SEO
within your channel. Example, in this tag section, you'll add a few keywords related to the video
and niche publishing. Then when you're actually
uploading that specific video, you can make some changes and add even more tags to the video. Beyond this basic
information option, there are advanced
settings where you can further
configure your channel. These settings also allow you
to fine tune your videos. One such option is
automatic chapters. This feature enables you
to add chapters related to your video and you can
choose to enable or disable. Additionally, there's
the licensing option, which you can set to
YouTube's default license, providing copyright
protection for your videos within the
platform in the standard way. For the category, you
can select the type of category that usually
applies to your videos. In my case, since my channel is about games but also falls
under entertainment, I'll choose
entertainment instead of games to reach a
broader audience. There's also the subtitles certification and
Language Option. Here you'll select the language of your video so the algorithm can understand which country or audience your
content should target. Next, we have the language of
the title and description. You can also set this
to Portuguese, Brazil, or the country
where you intend to publish the content.
I'll mark this as well. In the comments
section, you have four options to manage your
comments more effectively. For example, the first box allows all types of
comments on your videos, including offensive comments,
spam, links, and so on. The second option lets you hold potentially inappropriate
comments for review. I prefer to keep
this option enabled, along with the third option, which is a stricter approach, but currently in Beta. The time you're
watching this video, this tool might be
fully functional. I recommend keeping both
of these settings enabled. You also have the option to
hold all comments for review, meaning every comment would be reviewed by you before
being published. Lastly, there's the
option to disable all comments on your
videos altogether. So I've already made the
advanced settings on my channel. I'll click the save
button to continue, then click on Settings again. We also have this option here. Within the permissions option, I can perform some
tasks that can help me in the process of outsourcing my YouTube channel management. For example, I can invite other people to have limited
control over my channel. Of course, they won't
have full control. But if I click on
the Invite button, I can invite an editor who can
only upload videos for me. For instance, let's say I
outsource the editing process. I can add the email of
a specific editor here, giving them permission to upload videos only in private mode. They won't be able to
change the videos from private to public,
only upload them. So if you've outsourced
the editing process, your editor renders the video and you can add
their email here, allowing them access to your channel solely
to upload videos. If you click on Access, you'll also find numerous
other things that you can outsource within this
permission section. In this case, you're
granting permissions for other people to have limited
access to your channel. As the owner of the
YouTube channel, you have full control, meaning you can
remove these people, but they can't
remove your access. Additionally, we have
this community option. In this community section, you can add some moderators
to manage your comments. There are administrative
moderators who will have full control over comments
and other moderators, as well as standard moderators. Also the option for
approved users. So if a specific channel frequently comments
on your videos, it will automatically
bypass review. You can add their channel under the approved user section
by selecting their channel. We also have the option
for hidden users. In this section, you can
block certain channels, meaning you won't see any
comments from these channels. To do this, you just
enter the name of the person or channel
you want to block, a very simple process. Additionally, we have the
real time redirect option. This option allows you to redirect viewers from one
live stream to another. So if someone is ending
their live stream, they can redirect their
viewers to your livestream. When you enable this option, any channel can redirect
viewers to your content. This means anyone can send their viewers to
your other videos. This option can greatly help you grow your
YouTube channel, especially when it comes
to live streams, right? Additionally, we have the
option for blocked words, where you can block specific
words within your comments. For example, if someone comments
using a particular word, that comment will
automatically be deleted. Let's say I want to block an offensive phrase
like you are an idiot. In my example, I type
it here, press Enter, and automatically when comments containing you are
an idiot are posted, YouTube's AI will remove
that message, right? You can add multiple words
to this blocked words box. We also have the option
to block links if you want to prevent links from
being posted in your comments. Personally, since I enabled that option in the Upload defaults under
advanced settings, these two options will
automatically send any links posted in my
YouTube video comments for review because they are
flagged as potentially inappropriate and will go directly into the
review process. Additionally, we have
the defaults option. Within this defaults option, we have the comment settings
we've already configured, as well as the option for
messages in your live chat. This option, you can enable a checkbox where
YouTube's AI will automatically review
all real time chat messages during
your live streams, and you won't be able to see
those types of comments. Lastly, in settings, we also
have the contracts option. However, this contract setting relates to YouTube monetization. When you enable monetization on your channel within
the YouTube platform, this option covers
all the contracts and terms you've signed
with the platform. So that's how these
advanced settings work within your
YouTube channel. I'll click the save button to save all the
configurations I've made. And that's roughly how
the configuration process works here in our channel
within YouTube Studio.
11. Creating Personalized Playlists: Hey, everyone. In this lesson, I'll show you how to create custom playlists on
your YouTube channel. I'm here on the
YouTube homepage, logged into my channel, Flink, I'll go to my channel
so we can take a look. This is a test channel I
created solely about Minecraft. We don't have any
playlists created yet. So if you click on
the playlist button, it only shows the
Led videos playlist, which is private, by the way. Create a playlist
on your channel, you click here, then
go to YouTube Studio. In the YouTube Studio
dashboard, click on Create. Next, click on New Playlist, and here you'll give
your playlist a name and description and
set its visibility. For example, I'll name my playlist Minecraft
trolling and put in the description Videos
trolling and Minecraft. Is my playlist. I'll leave
the visibility set to public. Click on Create,
and there you go. My playlist is now created. If I click on the content button and then go to playlists, the playlist I created with
you earlier will appear. I'll click on the Edit
button for this playlist. This is where we can add
our videos to the playlist. To add videos, you click here. And with the three dots, you can add videos to
your trolling playlist. I had this video here, and I can add this one as well. We basically have
several videos that I can add to this
YouTube playlist, but it will just be these
four particular videos. I'll click on add videos, okay? Let's wait for it to load. It looks something
a playlist with four videos related to trolling
on the YouTube channel. So that's how you can add
videos to your playlists. It already appears here
in the playlist tab. When I go to the
playlist option, it shows exactly the playlist
with the videos I selected. I'll edit it again. This
takes us to this page. Here you can also
make some adjustments like changing the
order of your videos. If you click here, you just
hold the video and drag it, allowing you to adjust the
order of these videos. If you click on the three dots, you can also set a thumbnail for your playlist to make
it even more appealing, as well as remove videos
and do many other things. Basically, our playlist
has been created. Now, let's go through
the process of customizing these playlists
on our YouTube channel. You'll click on the
customization button, and then you'll see the
option for featured section. Remember, my YouTube
channel is currently set up like this with shorts
and regular videos. I'm going to make
a few adjustments here by clicking on
featured section, then add section, and
next, I'll add a playlist. The playlist I created will appear right here at the bottom. Minecraft trolling. I'll place it at the top so
you can see it right away. I'll click on Publish. Now, I'll go to my
YouTube channel and refresh the page so you can
see exactly how it looks. Minecraft trolling, videos
trolling in Minecraft. So it ended up looking
something like this. It's great if you set it up just like I did on my main
YouTube channel. For example, here, I selected
the most recent videos. These are the latest videos I've published on the
YouTube platform. Here, I selected
cryptocurrency topics, a free course related to cryptocurrencies that I
created and short videos. Alright, I've
organized everything nicely with the playlists
on my YouTube channel. You can do the same with
other channels, as. Right? So I'll leave this
customization at the bottom, click on the published button, check out my channel again, and that's exactly
how you create a playlist and customize it
on your YouTube channel. I hope you enjoyed this lesson. See you in the next one.
Take care and thanks.
12. Video Structure: Hey, everyone. Welcome to another module of our
comprehensive YouTube course. In this specific module, we'll be covering the creation
and uploading of videos. To start off in this lesson, I want to show you the
structure of a YouTube video. I've created this mind map to outline the entire structure
of a YouTube video. First, when structuring
a YouTube video, you should start by
brainstorming ideas. So you've already defined a specific content niche you want to focus on for
your YouTube channel. Consequently, you need to
come up with video ideas. There will be a
specific lesson showing you how to generate ideas
for your YouTube videos. After you've gathered some
ideas and written them down, the next step is to
create your script. There will also be a
dedicated lesson explaining the entire structure behind a script and how to write one. But Matheus, is a script
really necessary? Is it mandatory for every type of video
we create on YouTube? Yes, having a script is one
of the most important steps. Even before you start
producing a video, the script ensures that
your video will be as effective as possible
for your audience. If you create a
video on the fly, it might not be as interesting or engaging for your viewers. After you've written
your script, the next step is recording. This is another crucial step. Recording process will depend on the type of content
you plan to create. For some types of content, it might be useful to
record yourself on camera. For other types,
you might record yourself and share
your computer screen, or maybe you prefer not to show your face at all and
just show your screen. You can create a presentation, a well edited video with just your voice and many
other possibilities. There are various
recording styles you can implement
on your channel. Once you've completed
the recording process, you'll move on to
editing your video. Editing is another crucial step. Is it really necessary
to edit my video Mateos? Yes, it's definitely one of
the most important steps. It's important to note that the recording process
may involve some errors. It's not always perfect. For example, while recording
this specific lesson, there were small mistakes that
you might not even notice. Only my editor knows what
those mistakes were. We move on to video editing, which is one of the key steps. Whether you like it or not, it's vital to edit your video and make it as engaging
as possible for your audience to increase
content retention. There are many ways you
can edit your videos. Since this is an
educational content, I don't have too much
editing work to do. The main task I have is syncing the audio from my
microphone with my camera, configuring the camera and syncing it with the
computer screen. After that, I send the
video to my editor to remove any mistakes
during the editing process. Really important to
understand this. When you're recording
your video, don't worry about
making mistakes. It's normal and it's not
always going to be perfect. When I first started
creating content, especially on YouTube,
I used to think that there were no mistakes during
the recording process. So when I tried to
create content, I would push myself to ensure there were no errors
during recording. Even though I might have
avoided any recording mistakes, the video wouldn't always turn out well enough to
post on YouTube. As a result, I would spend
hours and hours trying to record even a short video all in the pursuit
of perfection. It's important to
know this and not to stress if there are
mistakes during recording. If you make a mistake,
just keep going. Don't need to delete
the video because you can remove the errors
during the editing process. Once you've finished editing, the next step is uploading, which is when you publish your video on your
YouTube channel. You'll set up your title, description, thumbnail, tags,
and many other details. So that's roughly how the entire process works behind the scenes
of a YouTube video. Many people think
it's just a matter of turning on the
camera and posting, but there's actually a whole
process behind it, right? You start by
brainstorming ideas, then you write your script. Once the script is ready, you move on to recording. After recording, you
move on to editing. Once editing is done,
you upload the video.
13. How to Generate Ideas: In the previous lesson, you learned about the
structure behind the video. In this lesson, I'm
going to introduce you to ways you can
generate video ideas. There are several methods I use, and I'll share some
of them with you. The first method is to analyze channel similar to your niche. This means you can search
for profiles on YouTube, Instagram, or even TikTok that
are related to your niche. You can analyze the type of content these people
are producing. You don't necessarily have
to copy all the content, but you can take
some video ideas and build a script based on your creativity or
even improve on content that has already
been for example, one thing I like to do is to analyze videos on
channels similar to mine, watch a few videos, and
note what didn't work well. How do I understand
what didn't work? You should use the platform's
algorithm as a basis. If the video is favorable
to the algorithm, it means it's a very
promising video. In the lesson on script writing, where we'll build a
script step by step, you'll better understand
these characteristics. How can you find
channels in niches similar to yours to
get video ideas? You can search on YouTube for a hypothetical video you might publish or even search for a specific topic
related to your niche. Various YouTube
channels will appear, allowing you to watch
and analyze them, making a list of ideas. Another method I like to
use is Tik Tok itself. Suppose, hypothetically,
I've chosen the gaming niche where I'll create summaries
of game stories. I can easily go on TikTok and search for game
story summary. Various videos from
other content creators, summarizing game
stories will appear. I could note down
some relevant ideas to create content
for my profile. In addition to searching
for specific content, you can also search for
hashtags related to your niche. This way, you're not just
analyzing a part of your niche, but the niche as a whole, allowing you to get
even more video ideas to create on your
YouTube profile. In my hypothetical niche, I could use the hashtag games. When I search,
various videos from other content creators related to the gaming niche will appear. If you're a nutritionist, simply search for the hashtag
nutrition and press Enter. You'll find many videos related to the nutrition
niche, and from there, you can get plenty
of content ideas or rather videos that
you can later develop. Another way to get ideas, which also involves
analyzing a niche related to yours is by looking at international content
related to your niche. As I mentioned in
previous lessons, many trends that reach your country may have
started elsewhere. By following content
from other countries, you might catch a
trend that's just starting abroad and become
a pioneer in your country. Not only gives you
content ideas but also provides a
competitive advantage. Instead of searching
for video titles and hashtags in your language, you should search in
English, Spanish, and other languages to get
even more video ideas. Another interesting way to get video ideas is through comments. As you start producing
content on YouTube, many of your viewers
might leave comments on your videos and some of them might offer
video suggestions. A clear example I can give
is in a tutorial niche. Suppose you create educational
nutrition content. Occasionally, you might receive questions from your
viewers in the comments. Based on these comments, you can easily formulate a video idea. Additionally, you might receive direct suggestions
in the comments. These suggestions
are very valuable because considering the
platform's algorithm, it only recommends
content that people like. If people are asking for it, it's because they're interested in that particular content, making it a promising
topic for you to create. But what if you're
a beginner and don't have many comments
on your videos? No problem. You can search
for channels related to your niche and analyze the
comments on those channels. You might find some video
suggestions that you can note down and develop into
content in the future. Another method I use to
generate video ideas, and I know it might
seem a bit obvious is your own creativity
but with a twist. Remember when I mentioned in the lesson about defining
a niche that it's important to choose a niche you already have some
knowledge of and enjoy? Well, for this exact reason, when you know and like
a particular niche, many video ideas
will come to you spontaneously simply because you are engaged with that niche. For example, there have been
times when I've come up with ideas while writing the
script for another video, simply because I was working on content I enjoy and know well. I say, you can generate ideas
based on your creativity, we also touch on another point. The more content you create, the more ideas you will
naturally come up with. This is a natural process. Sometimes, while
producing one video, you might get ideas
for others and so on. The last method I use to get video ideas is through the ChatGPT Artificial
Intelligence. If you're not familiar with it, I'll give a brief overview. ChatGPT is an AI powered chatbot that interacts like a human. This AI isn't just any chatbot. It has a vast database, and any message you send to
it will generate a response. So you can ask it
to perform tasks, answer questions, and even request specific tasks
to be done for you. Among the tasks this
AI can perform, generating video ideas
is entirely possible. But how do we do
this in practice? Let's say,
hypothetically, I have a law channel focused on practical aspects
of criminal law. I post videos on Instagram, Tik Tok, and even YouTube. I want to generate video ideas. What do you need to
do with ChatGPT? I'll provide the access link for you in the
resources section. By default, your
chat will always come in the chat 3.5 version, but if possible, you can
use the GPT four version, which is even more intelligent. Now let's send a
message to the AI. In this field, I'll write
the following message. I am a criminal lawyer. I produce educational
content aimed at reaching both an audience within my
niche and a general audience. These are educational
videos meant to clarify doubts and teach things that
many people don't know. I post videos on Instagram, Tik Tok, and YouTube shorts. Please provide ten
short video ideas for me to publish
on these platforms. I sent this message to the AI, and it began describing
some video ideas based on the details I
provided. Here's a tip. As you use this AI, it's crucial to provide as
many details as possible. Since it's an AI, the more
information you give it, the better the
response you'll get. So I provided some details here, but of course, I could
have included even more. Can I revise this message? I'll add, I am a criminal
lawyer in the United States, because sometimes when
you say criminal law, it might interpret it as international content or even related to criminal law
in another country. So I'll correct this message, click save and submit and done. It gave me ten video ideas that I can develop
for my Instagram, YouTube shorts, and
even TikTok profiles. The first idea it suggested is know your rights
during a traffic stop. Briefly explain what
rights individuals have if they are pulled
over by the police, including how to interact with officers and
what to avoid saying. The second video idea is
understanding Miranda rights. Explain what Miranda rights are, when they must be read, and what happens if they are not
read during an arrest. The third suggestion is what
to do if you're arrested. Provide a step by step guide on the immediate action someone should take if
they are arrested, including requesting an
attorney and remaining silent. And below, there are
many other ideas. The cool thing about this AI is that it not only
provided the video idea, but also helped me
understand how I could structure the video and
what I should cover in it. Now I have a general direction
for creating my script. Let's look at another
hypothetical example that illustrates the
usefulness of this AI well. Suppose I'm a
nutritionist who also produces educational content on these platforms I mentioned. Wrote the following
message to send to the AI. I am a nutritionist with an educational channel
about nutrition, where I talk about
various topics for a broader audience with
an educational focus. Additionally, I present
some diet ideas for people who work out
among other things. I post videos on TikTok, shorts, YouTube, and Instagram. Please provide ten
viral video ideas so that I can create scripts. Short videos of 60 seconds. I'll send this
message to the AI, and it will start generating some video ideas based on the characteristics
I requested. The first video
suggestion it provided is top five foods
for muscle gain. Quickly list and show live foods that are
excellent for building muscle with brief explanations of why they are beneficial. The second suggestion
is healthy snack swaps. Show common unhealthy snacks and provide healthier
alternatives, highlighting the
nutritional benefits of each swap and so on. Matheus, are the ideas that
chat provides unique yes, all the responses that ChatGPT
gives you will be unique. This happens because of the
vast amount of stored data. In other words, if you ask the same question that
I sent to the AI, you will get entirely
different video ideas. It's possible that one or
two might be the same, but overall, most of the responses will be
completely different. After all, each response
is unique to each user. Other very important
thing to remember is to always provide as many details as possible in your question. A cool thing you could do as a content creator who
already posts regularly, or even if you already have
a list of ideas to develop content is to provide this
list of ideas to the AI. This will help the AI get a better sense of the style
of video you want to make, or you can even send the
titles of your recent videos. This can greatly help the AI provide the best
possible responses. Based on all these tips I've given you to generate
video ideas, take a notebook or
even a notes app on your computer and make a list of content ideas
that you can create. I hope you enjoyed this lesson. See you in the next
one and thanks.
14. Scriptwriting: After you've noted down the video ideas you
want to develop, we need to move on to the next
phase of video structure, scripting where we'll
actually write a script. I'm here on the computer
screen with this mind map, and to start, let's understand the entire structure
behind a script. Yes, folks, a script
also has a structure. There's a specific order based on the
platform's algorithm to write the best
possible script so that your videos
can go viral. So in the structure of a script, I've broken it down
into four stages, starting with the first,
which is a powerful opening. When we refer to a
powerful opening, it means starting
your video with a hook that immediately grabs
the viewer's attention. This could be a
provocative question, a surprising statistic,
or even a curious fact. You can use many other things depending on your creativity. It's crucial to
capture as much of the viewers attention
as possible in the first few
seconds of your video, even when you start
transcribing your script. Initial video retention is very important for the
platform's algorithm. After all, YouTube's algorithm evaluates whether the
initial engagement of the video is positive
to determine if it's worth recommending that
content to other people. So within the first part
of constructing a script, it's vital to create something that grabs
the viewers attention to ensure initial retention in the first few
seconds of your video. This helps the YouTube algorithm recommend your video to others. If you follow this guideline, your video could go viral. The next part of a
script structure, after starting with
a powerful opening and capturing the
viewers attention, is the development of the video. This involves unfolding a
narrative in an engaging way, maintaining a healthy balance between informing
and entertaining. Use graphics, text
on the screen, and good editing to keep
your audience focused, aiming for every moment of the video to invite the
viewer to stay until the. In this part of the script, which is very important, you'll start transcribing the
main theme of the video. You can transcribe the video normally within this section, but remember to keep inviting your viewer to stay
until the end. Another crucial aspect is doing a thorough job in editing. If the video is well edited, you can ensure higher retention until the end of the video. This is very positive for
the platform's algorithm. If the video has good
initial retention and good retention
until the end, YouTube's algorithm
will evaluate this positively and recommend
the video to others. Before you know it, your video could go viral and
gain many followers. The next stage in
our script structure is the call to action, CTA. Where near the end of the video, you should invite the viewer
to engage with your content. This could be an
encouragement to like, comment or even
follow your profile. Do this creatively
and naturally, integrating the call to
action into the content of the video without it feeling
forced or out of place. In other words, the
call to action is basically the prompt for
action that you place, especially near the
end of the video. Give you some examples of CTAs. Suppose you have a drop
shipping store and a Tik Tok profile where you promote your
store's products. Near the end of the
video, you could prompt viewers to click the
link in your bio, which would be the
link to your store. This would be a type
of call to action. Similarly, in your
personal profile, referring back to
the example from the previous lesson about
an educational channel focused on criminal law, near the end of the video, I could ask for a like
or in another video, I might ask viewers to follow. In each video, I can
ask for just one thing. If you're working with
short 62nd videos, the time you have to
create content is limited. If you use that time to
ask for likes, comments, shares and followers
all at once, the video might end
up being a bit dull. That's why it's important to use just one call to
action per video. But in longer videos,
it's good to have this type of interaction
throughout the video, but choose the best
moments to do so so it doesn't become boring and you can maintain your attention. So let's say you're
developing a long video. Throughout it, you
can ask for likes, subscriptions, comments or another type of
call to action. When should you do this? In the best moments
of the video? Example, near the end, it's good to include this
type of call to action or even at the beginning of the video after
the introduction. Once you've captured
the viewer's attention for the first few seconds, you can then include
a call to action. Another important thing
when doing a call to action near the end of your video
is not to be too direct. Be as subtle as possible. Do it in a creative
and natural way, so it doesn't come off
as boring to your view. Sometimes you might ask
your viewer to follow you, but if it's done in
a monotonous way like if you like the
video, follow me. They might not
respond positively. However, if you ask for a follow more
creatively and subtly, it might be more appealing and your CPA conversion rate could be much higher than
it normally would be. To wrap up in the
structure of a script, we come to the
memorable conclusion. This means ending
your video with something that stays
in the viewer's mind. It could be a teaser
for a future video or even something that encourages the viewer to
rewatch that video, a thought provoking question
that promotes reflection or even a conclusion that encapsulates the essence
of your content. So when finishing the scripting
process for your video, aim to end in a memorable
and impactful way. After all, the YouTube algorithm also considers this point. For example, if we compare two videos on the same topic
by different creators, where one has a higher
retention rate until the end, and the other has
a lower retention the YouTube algorithm
will obviously favor the video with the
higher retention rate. Consequently, it will start recommending that
video to more people. To better illustrate, let me
show you a retention graph. This would be a
graph representing the structure of a script. At the bottom, we have the duration with the start on the left and the
end on the right. If you don't fully understand
this type of graph, I can show you a
practical example. As a content creator, you can easily find
this type of graph on YouTube or even within
YouTube Studio. I'll pull up the content
analysis option and select a random video to do a
basic retention analysis. Here, we have the
video, and below it, we find the retention rate, which is the retention graph. At the bottom, we
have the duration of our video with the start
here and the end here. This particular video
had 5,000 views. I've zoomed in to give you
a better view of the graph. But analyzing the first
few seconds of my video, it's clear that the
retention rates started declining right away. In the first 10 seconds, only 42% of all the people who watched the video stayed on. By the halfway point, out of 100% of the viewers,
only 20% remained. By the end, only 10% of viewers made it to the
final part of the video. This is roughly how a
retention graph works. The retention graph for
this video isn't very good, since the retention
rate is quite low with only about 20% of viewers sticking around by
the middle of the video. That's a very low
retention rate. A good retention rate, at least up to the
halfway point would be a video that still holds
around 50% of the audience. This is still
considered positive, but if it drops below
20% early in the video, it's not a good sign. When we look at this
retention graph and compare it to the script
structure I provided, it's clear that this video doesn't have a very
impactful opening. After all, in the
first few seconds, the retention rate
fell below 50%. This is why it's so
important to capture your viewers attention right
at the start of the video. Initial retention is crucial
for the YouTube algorithm, as is ensuring retention
until the end of your video. It's possible to
create a video with a strong opening that secures
good initial retention, and the graph might
look something like this with a gradual decline
throughout the video. This would be a more
favorable graph. On the other hand, a
graph like the one we saw earlier with extremely low
retention is not ideal. A video that maintains around 50% retention by the halfway point is
already something positive. There may be instances where this initial retention rate remains very high and
then slowly declines, as has happened with
some of my other videos. For example, in a
YouTube video where from the start the
retention rate was high and stayed that way until the end with around 70% to 80% of viewers watching
all the way through. This is undoubtedly an extremely
positive retention rate. YouTube algorithm views
this as a positive signal since YouTube wants its users to stay on the platform
as long as possible. When you create a video that maintains a good retention rate, the platform will naturally start recommending that video to more people because the longer a user stays
on the platform, the more beneficial
it is for them. Here is a retention graph of a YouTube video that
performed exceptionally well. At the start of the video, the retention rate was 158%. Let me explain why
it's above 100%, but you can see a high
initial retention rate that stays high until
the end of the video. When it reaches the end where I show what I wanted
to demonstrate, the retention rate drops, finishing at around 70%. But why is the retention
rate at 158% or over 100%? This means that people rewatch the video to better understand
what was at the beginning, which likely explains the
retention rate above 100%. This is an extremely
positive retention rate, whether for YouTube, Tik Tok, or any other platform,
and they see this as highly favorable further recommending the
video to more people. Even so, these are still
considered high retention rates. If you can ensure that
more than 30% to 35% of your viewers
stay until the end, this is extremely positive
for the YouTube algorithm, increasing the chances of
your video going viral. Therefore, whenever
you're building a script, aim to ensure as much retention as possible until the
end of the video. Create an impactful
beginning to ensure good initial retention and keep those viewers
engaged until the end. This is crucial for your growth
on the YouTube platform. Now, you might be wondering
how do I write a script? As I mentioned earlier, there are two styles of
scripts you can use. One of them is the
script based on topics, which is what I'm
following in this lesson. In this style, most of what I'm saying
comes spontaneously, and the bulk of the work
is left for editing. After all, when
recording spontaneously, it's completely normal to
make recording mistakes. I say this from experience, having worked with video editing for other content creators. During a certain
period of my life, I worked as a video editor, and many times well known
content creators would send me videos with
numerous recording errors, especially when they recorded using the topic based method. This is one way to write
our scripts using topics. So here are the topics I'm going to cover
throughout this lesson. I've already presented the
structure of a script, showed the retention graph, introduced you to
YouTube creators Center by showing retention
graphs of some videos, and now we're discussing
how to write a script. Soon, we'll move on to practical examples
of transcription, and we'll wrap up
with the method I use to write scripts
with ChatGPT, which is also entirely possible. This is more or
less an example of a topic based script
where you can jot down all the topics you'll
cover throughout the video and then record yourself talking about each one. There's a significant
advantage to recording a topic based script, as it ensures spontaneity
in your content. If I were probably recording this lesson using a
transcribed script, it wouldn't feel
as spontaneous and it might even become boring
for you as a viewer. That's why in some
specific content, I prioritize topic
based scripts, while in other content, I develop a transcribed script. Do I write a topic based
script? There are two ways. One of them is manually
jotting down notes, where you can use text files like Word or even Google Docs, which is a free
tool from Google, where you can manually
note down all the topics. So I'm here with my Google Docs. I could easily
start writing down some topics that I might cover
in a hypothetical video. Can do this whole process of
jotting down topics based on your creativity and
knowledge about the specific content
you're planning to create, or you can also use the
assistance of ChatGPT. In the previous
lesson, for example, it provided me with
some video ideas. I can easily take some of those ideas and develop
a topic based script. I'll take the criminal
law niche and ask it to formulate a topic
based video script. I'll write the following
message to the AI, write a topic based video
script about topic and describe all the relevant
characteristics of your specific video with as many details as possible
that you want to include. Add to what I've
already written. Ensure good initial
retention in my video, as well as maintaining
good development, and towards the end,
remember to include a CPA, call to action, asking
for a follow or a like. I'll send this
message to the AI, and it will start formulating
the topic based script. There you go, everyone. This was the response from the AI, where it developed a
complete topic based script, a video script on what
to do and what not to do during a police stop with
a duration of 60 seconds. So we would start
with an introduction. You could begin with
a catchy question to ensure initial retention, such as Hey, there. Welcome back to our channel. Today, we're diving into
an important topic. Your basic rights during
a police stop in America, whether you're driving, walking, or just hanging out, knowing your rights can make
a huge difference. Let's get started. This would very likely ensure good initial
retention for your video. The next topic is already
in the introduction. As you scroll down, you'll see all the topics on how I
could structure this video. More or less in this way, ChatGPT developed a topic based video
script for me and I can easily take these
topics and transfer them here to my Google
Docs where I'll begin. In the introduction, I'll write exactly what I'll
say in this topic, then move on to the next topic, which would be the development
of my video and so on. After that, I can proceed
to the recording process. Just a heads up. Don't rely 100% on ChatGPT when
developing video scripts. After all, AI doesn't have the
creativity that we humans. That's why it's very
important to take all the content it
provides and further enhance it with your
creativity and knowledge of the specific subject of
the video you're creating. But this is one way you can develop video scripts
based on topics. The other way to
write video scripts is by using transcribed scripts. Transcribed scripts are those where typically
everything you as a content creator will say throughout the video is
composed within the script. Let's say I start
a new script here. I could begin this
script by saying, Hey, everyone, how's it
going? This is Matheus. In this lesson,
we're going to talk about how to write a script. This would be a
transcribed script. I could easily write out a full script for this
lesson you're watching, which would be a type of
fully written out script. This is basically what
a transcribed script is and how do we write
a transcribed script? Same way that you can write
a topic based script. You can also create a
fully transcribed script. You can write it manually
in the same text editors, or you can use the help
of ChatGPT. Just a tip. When writing a
transcribed script, it's a good idea to write it manually based on
your creativity. Then you can use AI to make improvements or you
can do the reverse. You can use AI first to
draft a script and then enhance it according
to your tone of voice and creativity. And how can we create a transcribed script
here with ChatGPT? You can send the same prompt, but instead of
asking for topics, ask the AI for a fully
transcribed script. So I'll switch here. Write
a transcribed video script. I'll also modify
this final part. I want a transcribed script. I'll send this message
to the chat and it will start formulating a fully written out video script for me. Here in the first few
seconds in the initial hook, we have the narration
that we would speak. From there, the cut
screen transitions to the presenter in a more
neutral environment, or you can add a bit of editing flare according to
your creativity. Next, we move on to the
introduction of the context. In other words, all
of this narration would be the transcribed part. You can easily take
this transcription and adjust it to match
your tone of voice, your knowledge of the
specific subject, and what would be favorable
to the YouTube algorithm to ensure the highest
retention rate possible for your video.
15. Essential Equipment for Video Production: Before I introduce
the different ways to record videos on YouTube, I'll first go over the
essential equipment needed for the
recording process. Some of the equipment
I'm going to mention in this lesson are ones
I'm currently using. So, here on the computer screen, I have this PowerPoint
presentation that shows a list of essential
recording equipment, starting with microphones. I've selected four
microphone models for you, all of excellent quality. Some offer great
value for money, while others are more
affordable options to help you start
creating content. If you're on a tight budget and plan to start recording
videos at home, it might be worth considering a Road Smart AV plus lavalier. Or you could opt
for a blue Yeti, which is also great
for home use. You could also
consider a Rod NTA, which offers excellent
value for money. These are entry
level microphones suitable for beginners in
the content creation world. You can start with
a lavalier mic, a blue Yeti, or even a road NTA. If you already have a
good budget and want to invest in a quality microphone
for content creation, you might want to consider
purchasing a SOR SM seven B, which is the microphone
I'm using in this lesson. The SOR microphone is excellent, but you could also choose another cost
effective microphone that's about half the
price of the Sure, such as the Blue Yeti model. These are great value
microphones with quality that is somewhat
comparable to the Sure. If you have a higher
budget or are already seeing results
from content creation, it might be worthwhile
to invest in high quality microphones to further enhance your
content quality. For example, on Amazon, I've selected some
Pi fine microphones, which are of excellent quality and offer good value for money. Both this specific model and this other one
are very interesting, as is this other model. Most of the Pi fine microphones are also of excellent quality. You might also want to consider
this specific microphone. If you search more, there
are other blue Yeti models, but they have a
standard model and also the nanomdel which only has minor differences from
the regular version. Microphones I'm
mentioning are ideal for content creators who
are already earning income from their work or who have
enough capital to start content creation in the best possible way with good quality. To wrap up the
microphone discussion, another great microphone, particularly popular for
podcasts is the SUR SM seven B. This microphone is excellent for producing
content on YouTube, Instagram, and various
other platforms. It comes at a
higher price point. But as I mentioned, this type of microphone is geared
toward content creators who are already
earning revenue from platforms like YouTube,
Instagram, and others. However, if you're just starting
out with a tight budget and want to get a good quality microphone at a decent price, you can go for the blue Yeti. This microphone can
usually be found for around $130 or even less. If you find it suitable, you can also purchase
a Fi fine microphone which offers great
value for money. If your goal is to create content outdoors
outside of your home, you might want to
buy a lavalier mic. Lavalier mic is
especially useful for those planning to produce
content outdoors. If you're creating content
in various environments, it's a good idea to have
a lavalier microphone. In other words, if you plan
to create content outdoors, this type of microphone
is very useful, and you can find it on Amazon, along with other
lavalier microphones. The microphones I've
mentioned are very useful for recording
content at home. If you plan to create content
outside of your home, whether on the
street, in a mall, using your phone's camera
or even another camera, it might be a good idea to
buy a lavalier microphone. Of the best lavalier
mics I would recommend is the
Road Smart Lav plus, which offers great value for
money and excellent quality. But, Mateos, can I create content with these
other microphones? You certainly can, but the
quality might not be as good. That's why lavalier
microphones are specifically designed
for this purpose. O essential equipment for the recording process
includes cameras. If you don't have a
dedicated camera, you can even use your
smartphone as a camera. I've listed an iPhone
here just as an example. But you can use your own
phone without any problem. But, Matheus, my phone
doesn't have great quality. If it has a decent camera,
it's definitely usable. There's no excuse not to start. I've seen many
content creators who started with a phone that
didn't have the best camera, but they worked well in editing. As they began earning
money from the platform, they invested in a better phone. Phones with good cameras for content creation
include iPhones, especially from the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, and newer models which are of excellent quality. The Jeomiline and some of the latest Samsung phones are also great options
for recording, both at home and on the go. Matheus, I want to create
content at home on my computer. You can also buy a webcam. Here's a Logitech Brio webcam, which records in full HD and is a great entry level
cost effective option. If you have a good budget and want to invest in
a better camera, you can go for a black magic
camera that records in four K and has more megapixels
than this specific webcam. You could also use a GoPro
camera in other situations, or if you want to
produce content with excellent quality in a
more professional way, you could invest in a
professional camera. There are various camera
models you can choose from. You could buy a Sony ZV one
or many other Sony models. You could also invest in cannon cameras like
the Con SL three, Canon T seven I, Con R ten, and others, which are excellent entry level models with
good quality if your goal is to produce content in a more
professional manner. If you don't have
much of a budget, you can start with your
phone, no excuses. Always focus on good editing to keep your audience as
engaged as possible. When choosing the camera, you'll use for content creation. It's also very important to
consider using a tripod. Whether or not you choose
a camera depends a lot on the type of content
you plan to create. On YouTube, sometimes you
can create content that doesn't require a camera and
only needs good editing. So a camera might
not be necessary. But for those content
creators who have already chosen the type
of camera they'll use, having a tripod is
also essential. A tripod serves as a support for your
phone or even a camera, and I've listed a few
specific models here. For example, we have this
entry level tripod for phones, which is cost effective
and very useful. You could also go for
this other tripod model, which works for both
cameras and phones. This is a tripod
model I used for a long time, especially
in the beginning. Currently, I use this
specific tripod, which is designed only for
cameras, not for phones. Another very interesting
tripod is the Gimble tripod. If you're recording content, this type of tripod holds your camera in
a fixed position. Suppose your camera is
set in a specific spot. If you move your
hand up or down, the phone won't move
the tripod will. This can be very useful during recording to avoid
excessive camera shake. Another important
piece of equipment you should consider
is good lighting. Beginners who will be
recording with a phone, a ring light with an integrated tripod might be a great option, especially for those creating
content on their phones. You can easily place your phone in the center of the ring light, which will provide lighting
directly on your subject. I used ring lights a
lot in the beginning, especially when I
didn't have a camera. I recorded my
videos on my phone, and for a long time, I relied
on this type of lighting. Another very interesting type of lighting is the
Elgato key light, which provides excellent
illumination and was one of my best investments
for my lighting setup. Other great lighting
option you can consider is the aperture MC RGB Liddy, which offers various lighting
effects in one device. The cool thing about
aperture lights is that they're wireless, so you can recharge them, and they're very useful for
creating content outdoors, especially at night
when you need good lighting to record
in a specific location. This type of lighting
can be very useful. On the other hand,
a ring light or an Elgato key light might not be as useful outdoors because
they need to be plugged in. Another type of lighting
that's very useful, especially for content creators using a professional camera at home in a studio or in other
settings is a soft box. Soft box is a box with a light inside that illuminates
an area very well. Another similar
lighting option I mentioned earlier is
the Elgato key light. The advantage of using
an Elgato key light is that you can control
the brightness level, whether through your computer, a stream deck, or
even your phone. To wrap up the
discussion on equipment, there's a somewhat
optional piece of gear that can be very useful if you're recording videos with a transcribed script,
the teleprompter. Teleprompter essentially
displays the script right in front of the camera. Typically, the teleprompter is positioned exactly
where the camera is, and this can be a
very handy tool, especially for those who create content based on
written scripts. Instead of memorizing the entire script
or reading a line, pausing, reading another line, and then doing a lot of
adjustments in editing, you can simply use
a teleprompter, which will be placed right
in front of the camera. This way, you can look directly at the camera while
reading the script. Personally, I don't have
this tool at the moment, but I have used it before. Especially when I was
producing a lot of YouTube content with
detailed information. In some videos, I couldn't
memorize all the data, and in those specific cases, the teleprompter was essential. So these are the
essential pieces of equipment for the
recording process. I'll provide a link
to these items in the resources section. By accessing this link, you'll find all the products mentioned, including microphones,
cameras, good smartphones, and various other
pieces of equipment. I hope you found
this lesson helpful. See you in the next one. Thanks.
16. How to Speak Better in Your Videos: Hey, everyone. In this lesson, I'm going to give you some tips on how to speak well
in your videos. After all, speaking
well is one of the most important skills
during the recording process. One of the tips I
can give you right away is to speak more
openly and naturally. One of the main mistakes that
every beginner makes during the recording process is speaking in a somewhat
closed off manner. This happens due to nervousness, and you need to make an
effort to speak more openly, not in a very closed off way. And let's be honest,
a lesson like that wouldn't be very
engaging for you because I'd be speaking in
a completely closed off way and maybe the video wouldn't
turn out very well. So when you're
recording your videos, it's very important
to make an effort to speak more
naturally and openly. Matthias, what if I
recorded some videos and my diction wasn't very
good? Don't worry. It's okay. If you notice that
your diction isn't great, it's important to highlight that diction improves over time. The more you practice or rather, the more you record
videos for YouTube, the better your diction,
speaking style, and many other
things will become. Started producing my
videos for YouTube, I didn't have very good diction, but I improved over time
and always aimed to evolve. Another thing you should
consider to improve your speaking is keeping
your throat hydrated. When your throat is dehydrated, your diction
naturally gets worse. Whenever I'm recording a video, I pause to drink water. You don't see this, but I frequently
pause to drink water. I have a bottle here on my desk, and I drink plenty
of water during the recording process because
with a hydrated throat, you speak much better
during the recording. If you want, you can
even try a test. Record one video with a dehydrated throat and another while drinking
water frequently. Throughout the video, you'll notice a significant difference and improvement
in your recording when your throat is hydrated. This is one of the
very important points because you're using your voice, so you need to take care
of it as much as possible. Another thing you should
do if you notice that your diction isn't
great is to practice. Even though diction
improves with practice, there are some
exercises that can help accelerate this process of
improving your diction. You search on YouTube
for diction exercises, you'll find plenty of exercises to further refine your diction. Another very important
thing is that during the entire
recording process, it's natural to make mistakes. If there's a mistake, there's no need to delete the video. You can continue,
and during editing, you can remove that part. This is something
very important for you to know, and in
case you didn't know, most YouTubers, when recording videos, make recording mistakes. I mentioned this
because I've worked as a video editor for some
YouTubers with large followings, and it was noticeable that
they made recording mistakes. Recording mistakes will happen. If you try to record a video perfectly without any errors, you might get
nervous, stumble over your words and encounter other issues during
the recording. It won't always be perfect, so it's very important
to be aware of this. You can record calmly, relaxed and without worrying
too much about mistakes. If there are mistakes, you can remove them in the
editing process. Other important point is to record your videos
with a script, whether it's bullet points or a fully written script to
make your videos better. But, Matheus, in the lessons where you presented
the equipment, you mentioned a teleprompter, and I don't have the money
or space for a teleprompter. No problem. You can use a teleprompter
on your phone or computer. You can record a video
using a teleprompter on your computer screen
completely normally or download a teleprompter
app on your phone. When you open this app,
it will run alongside the camera and you can record the video reading the
script naturally, looking at the camera and your viewer might
not even notice. These are some tips to help you speak better in your videos. So that's it for this lesson. I hope you enjoyed it, and
I'll see you in the next one. A big hug and thanks.
17. Methods for Recording Videos: Everyone. In this lesson, I'm going to show you
the different ways to record your videos. One of the ways you can
record your videos, as mentioned in the
equipment lessons is by using a camera. Let's say you're using your
phone I have my phone here, so I'll open the
camera and I can start recording
using its camera. So this is my phone's camera. I could record a
video with it just by placing my phone on a tripod. You could also use
a Lapel microphone and connect it directly to
the phone for recording. If you're using a Go Pro
or a professional camera, the process is similar. If you're using a webcam, you would need to use
some software to record. One such software is OBS. OBS is a free software
that allows you to record both your webcam and your computer screen capture
audio and do a lot more. With OBS, you can
film your webcam, record your computer screen, stream live, and more. The main advantage of using this software is that
it's completely free. You can download it by following the link I'll provide in
the resources section. In fact, I'm using this software to record this specific lesson. Within this button here, you'd find a button
to start recording. Configuring your OBS is
quite simple and basic. Click on the settings button, then on the output
button to make some configurations
related to recording. Since I'm recording right now, some settings are limited. But in the video section, you
can change the resolution, I E, the quality of your video. The quality of this lesson is
set to ten ATP in full HD. In the recording section, you can set the folder where
the recording will be saved. In the audio section, you can configure and improve the
quality of your audio. In the streaming section, you can make more
advanced configurations to further enhance the
recording quality. Are some settings you
should adjust in OBS. We also have the scenes
and sources options. In the scenes option, you
can add various scenes. Click on scene again, and I'm
back to viewing my screen. Here, you can create
multiple screen layouts. In the sources option, you can add several
other screens. You can insert a window capture, a game capture, a
screen capture, entire monitor, and so on. Say, I click on screen capture. I select the monitor I want
to use. I have two monitors. On one monitor, I have the topics I'll cover
throughout this lesson. On the first monitor, I'm
doing the practical work. Let's say I want to record
on the second monitor. Click the Okay button. This way, I made some adjustments. That's roughly how
the screen recording on my computer works. I'll go back to the main screen. That's how the recording
process works in OBS. At first glance, this program
might seem complicated, but it's actually quite simple
for recording your videos. Plenty of tutorials
that teach you how to set up the program
and start recording. In summary, as I explained, it's a straightforward process. In the audio mixer option, you can adjust the audio levels. If you lower it, the
audio gets quieter. If you raise it, the audio returns to its original quality. Here you can adjust the audio, and there's also the
desktop audio option, which is your computer's audio. I have it disabled
because I don't use it, so if I enable it,
you'll hear it. I leave this option
disabled because I only work with the microphone
audio during my lessons, so there's no need to
have this option enabled. If you want to
stream live on OBS, click on the Settings button, then click on the stream button. Here, you select the service
where you want to stream. You can connect to your Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and
many other platforms. Let's say you want to
stream on YouTube, you click on YouTube and
connect to your account. After logging in, click the Start Streaming
button and you'll be able to go live using OBS. How do you connect
a webcam in OBS? Click on the Plus button, select the video capture device. Click Okay and choose which
webcam you want to use. I don't have any webcam connected as I'm using
this external camera. The camera is recording
externally, and in this case, I have to synchronize
the microphone with my camera since I'm
recording separately. Another program you can use for recording is called action. This program is very
simple, but it is paid. There are also free
versions you can use. I have the paid version
of action here. I don't use it very often, but it's a very simple program. The layout is straightforward. You can select the monitor
you intend to record. You have the option to record
a specific window, a game, stream live, record only audio, use a webcam, and
many other features. Simulate a recording
process with you. It's recording now. I click
the rec button and then stop. The recording is done. I'll open this recording
for you to see, and the quality is very good. This is a recording I just
made using the action program. Where is this recording saved? Click on it, right click
Open Output folder, and it will take you directly
to the video folder. I delete this recording now. Delete Selected file. Okay? It's also another program you can use to record your videos, stream live, record audio,
and many other things. Another program you
can use if you're recording with your phone and want to use your microphone, let's say your microphone can't connect directly
to your phone, is that you'll need to record the audio from that
microphone via a computer. For this, you can use
the audacity program. Audacity is also a free
program similar to OBS, but its purpose is solely
for audio recording, making it one of
the best programs for recording audio
from your microphone.
18. Design and Creation of Thumbnails: So, guys, after you've put together your video
before posting it, there's something very
important you need to do design and create
your thumbnail. Just like we can create our
channels logo and banner, we can also create
thumbnails for our videos. You can use various photo editing software like Photoshop, or you can use the
Canva platform, which allows you
to create logos, banners, thumbnails, and many other things in
a very simple way. Create a thumbnail
for your videos, you click on the Create
a Design button. Here, you type
YouTube thumbnail. When you click, you'll be redirected to a
page where you can choose to either start with a blank page or select a template, depending on the theme of
the video you're publishing. I'll select a blank page and then choose a
template inside. We'll be redirected
to a page where we'll actually design
our thumbnail and I'll click on the
templates option to choose template based on the
style of thumbnail I want. Search for earn, and you'll see various templates related to the thumbnail I'll be
creating in this lesson. Out of all these
thumbnail templates, I'll use this specific one, and I'll edit it step
by step with you. This thumbnail style says, Learn to earn $5,000 online. The first thing I'll change
is the thumbnail title. To edit the title, just
double click on the title, and you'll be able to type. So I'll put passive at the top, income at the bottom, and sources in the middle. Then I'll adjust the three
texts for better visibility. To move multiple
elements like I did, just hold the shift
key on your keyboard and select the elements you
want to change together. Now we technically have
a ready thumbnail. If we click on Design, we also have many other
thumbnail templates. Another thing you
can do using Canva is to search for the type
of video you're making, as well as the niche
you're working in, and various thumbnails related to the content you're
creating will appear. I'll type gamer and many gaming related thumbnails
will pop up, right? So it will look
something like this. This is the thumbnail I can
see within Canvas platform. Can also change the font by
double clicking on the text, which allows you to edit it. In my case, I won't change the font or make many
changes to this image. If you want to add other visual elements to your thumbnail, you can click on elements to add more features to make your thumbnail even
more attractive. But in my case, I'll
keep it just like this. To save this thumbnail, click on the Share button, then click on the
Download button, change the format to
JPEG, click on Download, and wait for the image to download the thumbnail
we just created. It turned out
something like this. This is the thumbnail
I'll use for my video. Wait for the upload process, and it looks exactly like this. I would use it as the thumbnail. If I had a picture of myself, I would replace the image of
the woman holding the money, but it turned out
just like this. In summary, creating a thumbnail with Canva is quite
a simple process. If you're experiencing
a creative block when making thumbnails,
you can do the following. Search YouTube for the
same type of video you're planning to post and analyze your
competitor's thumbnails. For example, if your video is about passive income sources, see what other people's
thumbnails look. These are the styles
of thumbnails for the videos I'm developing. One thing I've noticed
is that most of them are minimalist thumbnails with a very minimalistic
and light design. And with Canva, it's
entirely possible for you to create a
thumbnail like this, too. Canva is an excellent
design tool, especially for
beginners who don't have much knowledge
of design software, as it offers various features that allow you to do
all the design work, and it's very easy to use. Another approach you
can take is to combine Canva with ChatGPT
artificial intelligence. You can ask ChatGPT something like describe how I can create a viral thumbnail
for a video and then provide all the details
related to the video. For example, if the video is about passive income
sources online, see how it describes the process of creating
the thumbnail. Provided the following
suggestions. Bold, catchy title, use large readable fonts and keep the title concise
and intriguing, like earn 5,000 yes
month passively. Vibrant colors, use contrasting colors to make the
thumbnail stand out. Consider using a
bright background with darker text or vice versa,
eye catching images. Include an image of yourself with an expressive
facial reaction, such as excitement or surprise. Add relevant icons or
symbols like dollar signs, graphs showing upward trends or logos of popular
platforms, and so on. Based on the
characteristics ChatGPT described for creating
my thumbnail, I can apply these concepts
in Canvas image editor. Remember to test
different options. Experiment with
various thumbnails and see which one works best. You can even ask friends
or colleagues for their opinion to help you
choose the best option. So that's how you can use ChatGPT together with Canva
to create your thumbnails. A very useful test you can
do with thumbnail styles is to analyze your videos
CTR. Click Through. If your video has a good CTR, it's a sign that it has a
strong thumbnail and title. If you notice that a
specific thumbnail style is achieving a high CTR, you can try to maintain that
style for future videos, which will help you develop
the best possible thumbnails.
19. Uploading and Setting the Video: Guys, this is one of the
most important lessons in this module because I'm going to show you how to publish and configure a video on
your YouTube channel. Here I am on the
computer screen. Right after you've come up with an idea for a video,
built the script, recorded the video, done
the editing process, and created a thumbnail, you're ready to move on
to publishing the video. Click on the Create
button to publish the video and then
click on Upload videos. You'll be taken to
this page where you select the video
you want to upload. Click on Select Files and choose the video you
intend to publish. I'll select this video here and we'll wait for the upload
process to complete. Is my automatic description that I've already set up
on my main channel. One of the first things
you need to define when publishing a
video is the title. In the title, one of the tips I give is to be clear
and objective. For example, if the
main goal of my video is to present passive income
sources on the Internet, I could make a title like the best passive income
sources on the Internet. This would be a great title, short, clear, and to the point. Or, for example, earn over $20 a day with these passive income
sources on the Internet. This is a quite
persuasive title, but it's not click pait as these are income
sources that can generate that
amount depending on the effort. Stick
with this title. Here I have a pre
formulated description. I always start with
in this video I talk about and then add depending on the type of
video I'm publishing. I'll put in this video, I talk about ways you
can earn money through passive income on the
Internet, just like that. I have a sponsor
which is Binance and an ad for a specific
course that I will delete. I also have my
social media links and contact
information and so on. These hash tags,
it's important to optimize the SEO of your videos. Use three hash tags related to the content
you're publishing. For example, the content I'm publishing is about
passive income. So I'll use s passive
income, s earn money, or digital marketing,
and these are the three hashtags
related to my video. I'll adjust this part later
when configuring my video. Since I filled in my
title and description, let's select the thumbnail. I'll use the one we
created in Canva. Click on Downloads to
download the thumbnail. This will be the thumbnail for our video passive
income sources. Scroll down to
select the playlist you want to assign
this video to. I'm not assigning this video
to any specific playlist. Next, leave the video public and indicate whether the video
is made for kids or not. In my case, it's not. Keep scrolling
down. If the video is sponsored, check the box. In my case, it's not sponsored. We come to an important
part, which is the tags. Let's optimize the
SEO of our video by adding tags related to the type of video
we're publishing. I added tags like how to
make money, make money, passive income online, earn $20 a day. These
are some examples. I managed to complete the tags, but ended up going
over the limit. I'll make a slight
adjustment to finish up. There, I managed to complete it. I'll tell you it's around
500 characters in my tags. It's very important as you continue with
the publication of your video to make sure you use up to 500 characters
here in the tags option. Why? Because when you
fill in all the tags, you further optimize
the SEO of your video. And it's very important that
when you write these tags, you write tags related to the
content you're publishing. For example, if
you're publishing a video related to games, I think it wouldn't
make any sense to put make money, earn $20. It wouldn't make any sense, and the algorithm
won't know and might not even recommend that
type of video to others. But when you place tags that are exactly related to the
content you're publishing, help the YouTube algorithm
understand what kind of audience you want to target
with that type of content. For example, this
is indeed a video about income sources
on the Internet, and I used as many tags as possible related to
this type of topic. As I also mentioned some sources that I covered during the video, specifically to further
increase the SEO of my video. This part of tags is a
very important aspect of the video upload process because the keywords someone types in, if one of those specific
keywords is used, there's a good chance
the YouTube algorithm will suggest this
video to those users. Example, if someone
searches earn $20 a day, they might end up
landing on my video. Not necessarily will
they land on my video, but the YouTube algorithm will recommend this video
directly to that person. After you've filled in your
title, description and tags, and configured your
video according to what I've presented in
the previous lessons, click the next button to
continue the upload process. I'm going to enable monetization since this channel is monetized. If your channel
is not monetized, this option won't appear, but it's important
to know how to enable monetization on a video. Click the Enable button, then done and continue
because it's crucial to have all these boxes checked to
maximize your video's revenue. Next, click the next
button to proceed. Here, you'll check the option
for none of the above. Within this option,
you need to ensure your video complies with YouTube's advertising
guidelines. So if your video has
inappropriate language, it might not be eligible. If it contains violence, it might not be eligible,
shocking content, and numerous other factors, you'll need to assess if your content falls under
these restrictions. If it doesn't, check the
box for none of the above. Click the submit button, wait for the process
to complete, and then click Next to continue. Here's a part where you can
add captions to your video. An end screen is
also great to add, so I'm going to
add an end screen. I'll select one where
I'll add a video and also a button for
people to subscribe. Click the Save button,
and there we go. The end screen has been added. You can also add
interactive cards. You know what cards and notices that appear throughout
the video are. I'll add a card right at
this part of the video near the end and
suggest another video, for example, ways to make money. Click the Save button. It's a good idea to insert cards at the beginning
and the end of the video. Or if you cover a specific topic and have a related video, you can also select that video. So that's basically
how it works, right? I'll click Next again. In the check section,
my video was approved, and there are no
copyright issues, so my video is suitable
for advertisers. Click Next, and now we're at the stage where we'll
publish our video. We have the option to
publish it privately, where only I can view it. There's also the unlisted option where people with the
link can access it. There's also the
members only option, which I'll cover more in the monetization module where
I'll show you a bit about the members area so I
can leave this video accessible only to my members
or I can make it public. Additionally, we also have the option to schedule the
video. How does it work? Basically, you can
schedule a video to be published on a specific
date that you choose. So for example, I'm recording
this video on April 28, and I plan to publish
this video on April 28. I'm going to set the
exact time here. Let's say 6:00 A.M. All
right, and that's it. I'll leave this video scheduled, click the schedule button, and my video will be set
to publish. All right? Your video will go public
on July 25 at six n am. I'm going to add some
content here to continue. This is the video that I'll be publishing at exactly that time. Monetization is enabled. I'll click on
details to continue. Here, we have the video link, which is the link you
can share with others. This is the specific video, so it's playing for you now. I'll lower the volume a bit. So this is the specific video which wasn't necessarily
made for YouTube, but rather taken from a lesson. I won't be publishing
this video. Alright. This was just
to simulate for you how to publish a video here
on the YouTube platform. One extra setting before
we finish configuring our video is this option
that I mentioned earlier. I'll show you how to use it now. This option allows you to
add chapters to your video. Well, in most of my videos,
I include chapters. So let me show you some
practical examples. For instance, in
this specific video about how to source
products for drop shipping, I added chapters to it. The chapters are exactly here. Here we have the start,
followed by tool one, tool two, tool three, tool
four, tool five, tool six, bonus, and so on. If we click on Show More, you can see how it looks. Here's the video with
the chapters inserted. How do you add these? You
do it exactly like this. According to your video script at the exact time
a segment occurs, you can insert each
chapter for your video. So for example, for different
sources of passive income, I can insert the specific
time for one source, then another at a
different time and so on. But in this part, it's very important that when
you're setting up the video watch it and
manually insert the chapters. To insert the chapters, you select the
exact correct time. Here it's at 000, and I can insert
the chapter here. I'll put it at 0158 as source one so you
can see how it looks. You click the save button and
preview how it will appear. I'll open the video again, uncheck this box, and see how it looks with the
chapters inserted. We have the start here, and
this will be the start. So this is exactly how
it looks, everyone, and that's basically
how the upload and configuration process works
for our YouTube video. I hope you enjoyed this lesson. See you in the next one,
a big hug and thank you.
20. Monetization on YouTube: Ways to Generate Revenue: Hey, everyone. Welcome
to another new module. And in this specific module, I'm going to talk to you
about YouTube monetization, how it works in practice, how to set up monetization
on your channel, and additional revenue streams beyond
YouTube monetization. To start, I've put together
this mind map about what YouTube monetization
is and how it works. Basically, there are
several ways to monetize your YouTube channel and generate revenue
from your content. What are these ways? Well, I've separated them into
four main methods. The first method is through ads, where creators earn money from ads displayed
on their videos, such as display
ads and video ads. Revenue is generated based on views and audience
interaction. This is one of the most
traditional income sources for content creators
through advertisers. Depending on the number of
views your video receives, you could be paid quite well. Now, there's an important point regarding advertiser earnings. As explained in
previous lessons, YouTube is a video
streaming platform and one of the most popular
websites in the world. Because of its popularity, many people and
companies want to advertise where there are
potential future customers. Advertisers pay a certain amount to host their ads on YouTube. This amount is split
with 55% going to the content creator and 45% to the platform
for hosting the video. This means that all estimated
revenue earnings are passed through YouTube and you
receive 55% of that amount. Example, I have the
estimated revenue from my channel for March 2022, which totaled around 464. This was my share of the 55%. If I click here on the
Seymour button on this page, you can then click on
YouTube Ad revenue, and it will show
the total revenue your channel generated. So I generated a total of $842. Since 45% goes to YouTube
and 55% is passed on to me, what I receive here is
the estimated revenue. This is how YouTube distributes
your earnings to you. This applies to other
revenue streams within the YouTube
platform as well. I will explain more
throughout this lesson, but to show you a
practical example, I'm on YouTube's homepage, and if I click on
a random video, there's obviously an ad. This advertiser is paying
to host this ad on YouTube, and part of that amount,
since I'm viewing the ad, will be passed on to
the content creator. If I interact with this ad, the content creator
could earn even more. This is a specific
video I selected, and on the right side, we also have an ad
that we can view. Returning to the
channel statistics, there are two other
very important metrics you need to understand
regarding advertiser payments. You can click on
the Seymour button. On this page, you'll be able to see two
additional metrics, RPM and CPM based
on impressions. What do these two metrics
mean? Let me explain. CPM is the cost per
1,000 impressions. It's basically what
advertisers are paying to host their ads on YouTube
for every 1,000 views. So if I have a CPM of $5, will I earn $5 for
every 1,000 views? No, it's not exactly like that. You don't get paid per view. You get paid based on how
many people viewed your ad. There are cases where
people might watch your video but not
see a particular ad, and consequently, you
won't be paid for that. It's important to note that this scenario where people don't see ads is a minority of
those watching your videos. That's where the other
metric comes in, RPM or revenue per 1,000 views. This is the actual
amount you're being paid per 1,000 views on YouTube. So in the selected period, the RPM was 0.11. This means that for every
1,000 views, I earned $0.11. If I select a different period, this value might
be a bit higher. For example, let's
look at February. Let's take a look at this value. It's already gone up
along with the CPM. The CPM has risen to around $10, and the RPM has
increased to 119. So for every 1,000
views, I earned $1.19. I select another period
such as April 2021, when I started
publishing more videos, the CPM dropped from $10 to 455, but the RPM remained
consistent at 1:33. In other words, this
is exactly how you can earn money as a content
creator through advertisers. Another way to make
money on YouTube by enabling monetization is
through YouTube premium. If you're not familiar,
YouTube premium is a subscription service
that allows you to watch videos on
YouTube without ads. For example, with
this specific video, I don't see any ads because I'm subscribed to YouTube
premium on my main account. However, if I open an Incognito
window, ads will appear. Here's the video in
an incognito tab, and we're already seeing an ad before the video even starts. For those who use their
phones frequently, YouTube premium allows you to listen to music
with the screen off. You can turn off
your phone screen and still listen to music. Additionally, you
can download music, videos, and much more to
watch or listen offline. I'm a YouTube premium
subscriber because I don't particularly
like watching ads, but it's not just
for that reason. I listen to audiobooks and often download them to
listen offline later, and being a YouTube premium subscriber helps me
a lot with that. So how do content creators earn money through
YouTube Premium? Basically, creators
receive a portion of the monthly
subscription fee from YouTube premium users based on the watch time of their
videos by these subscribers. For example, if I'm paying around 13999 per month
for YouTube premium, a portion of that
amount is divided among the YouTubers I watch
the most on the platform. So, the more watch time
you as a content creator, get from YouTube
premium subscribers, the more you can earn
from this revenue stream. Let me show you an
example in practice. Go back to this
screen and change the date to March
2021, for example. In that month, I earned 116. If we scroll down, we can see where this
revenue came from. So 160 ls came from advertisers, meaning from videos with ads, and 0.32 came from
YouTube premium. I've seen cases where
YouTube premium revenue was even higher than ad
revenue on a channel. Where someone generated
around $500 from ads and over $1,000
from YouTube premium. In other words, YouTube
premium revenue can vary significantly
from channel to channel. Another way to
make money through YouTube monetization is through superchat
and superstickers. What are superchat
and superstickers? During live streams,
viewers can pay to highlight messages or
stickers in the chat, generating extra income
for the content creator. So basically, superchat and
super stickers are a type of donation that you
can receive when you're doing a live
stream, for example. A viewer can send a
message to highlight it, which acts as a donation
to your channel. This is another way to earn money on the YouTube platform. It's important to note
that donations from Superchat during
your live streams are also subject to a fee. However, the percentage differs from the advertiser's cut. While YouTube retains about
45% of the revenue from ads, when you receive a
superchat or donation, YouTube takes about 30%. This is still a
significant percentage, but there are alternative
methods to receive superchat payments
during your live streams where you can receive
the net amount. This is an important
point to highlight. Finally, the last source
of income through YouTube monetization is
the membership program. Offering memberships,
creators provide exclusive benefits in
exchange for a monthly fee, generating a stable and
recurring source of income. In other words, the
membership program is like a monthly
subscription where your subscribers can
sign up to support your channel and receive
exclusive content. Among other perks, depending
on your creativity, this is another way
to make money through YouTube monetization via
the membership program. The fee structure is similar
to that of Superchat. If you have a $10 membership, $3 will go directly to YouTube
as they retain about 30%.
21. How to Enable and Configure YouTube Monetization: Alright, everyone.
In this lesson, I'm going to show you how to enable monetization
on your channel. Before we get started, I
want to walk you through the requirements needed to activate monetization
on your channel. So I'm here in my
YouTube Studio, and you'll want to navigate
to this monetization tab. Once you're in this
tab, scroll down, and you'll see the prerequisites necessary to activate
monetization on your channel. There's an important point to highlight about
YouTube monetize. Are two models or rather two ways you can
monetize your YouTube channel. The first and more
traditional model is based on watch hours across
all your videos. In this case, you would enable monetization
on your videos. To meet this requirement,
you need to have over 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours in the last 365 days across
all your videos combined. Shorts videos count
towards this? No, Shorts videos do not count
towards these watch hours. This means that you
need to achieve these watch hours manually. While it may seem
like a lot of hours, it's not as difficult
as it might sound. I have a friend who started
his YouTube channel, and within a month, he was
able to activate monetization. What strategy did he use? He used some strategies
that I shared with him. In this strategy, you
should aim to publish at least three videos per week or daily videos
if you can manage. These videos should be over
8 minutes long to speed up the monetization process on your channel and also help
you gain more subscribers. However, the strategy to gain
subscribers is different. Here, we're focusing on a strategy to help you
accumulate watch hours. While gaining watch hours, you will naturally
gain some subscribers, but it won't be as many as you could get using the
other strategy. So you can follow
this schedule and aim to post at least
three videos per week, if possible, post daily videos. And these videos should
be longer than 8 minutes. But Matheus, is it just
about posting the videos? No, everyone, you
need to work on ensuring that the
YouTube algorithm starts pushing this content to
more people so that you can accumulate even more watch
hours on your videos. So you'll need to create
an attractive thumbnail that generates a lot of clicks
and views on your video. Do a good and engaging
edit to increase your watch hours and also
favor the YouTube algorithm. Use some SEO strategies and ask for your
viewers engagement. So you can ask your viewers
to like or dislike the video, subscribe to your channel,
and leave comments. Try to engage with
your subscribers in some way to further boost
the platform's algorithm. This way, YouTube will start recommending your
videos to more people. Consequently, you'll gain
a lot of watch hours, which will significantly speed up your monetization process. Got a basic idea of how to
gain watch hours, Matheus. Can I quickly gain subscribers? Obviously, you should
use about just kidding. You definitely
shouldn't do that. It's completely against
YouTube's rules. If you consider doing this
and YouTube finds out, there's a high chance
your channel could be deleted and it may not get
approved for monetization. But here's a really
good strategy that I used on a test channel. I managed to gain over 1,000 subscribers in less than a month by frequently posting shorts. If you can, post a short
video daily Shorts Matheus, why should I
post shorts? Here's why. When you publish shorts, YouTube's algorithm
pushes shorts videos more easily to other users. If you make a very engaging
and attractive video, YouTube will start
recommending it to more users. These users will
watch your videos, and as a result, they might
subscribe to your channel. Want to see a practical example. I'll open up my YouTube
analytics and show you how many subscribers I gained in just one month
using this strategy. So this is a test channel
I created in December. I'll select December 2022
until the 31st and apply it. Look at the number of
subscribers I gained, 400 subscribers
using this strategy. Throughout the entire month, I only publish shorts, and I got a total of 152,000 views and 400 watch
hours just from shorts. These watch hours don't count towards the
monetization counter, but this strategy
definitely helped me gain subscribers to activate
monetization on my channel. So, this is the first way you can monetize your
YouTube channel, but, Matheus, is there a
way to monetize shorts? Yes, there is a way
to monetize shorts, and the requirement to enable this monetization
is a minimum of 1,000 subscribers
and 10 million views within a 90 day period
or three months. At first glance,
this might seem like an unattainable number,
but it's actually not. As I mentioned earlier, YouTube easily pushes shorts
content to other users, and the chances of gaining a lot of views through
shorts are very high. In the previous
example I mentioned, I gained 152,000 views in
the channel's first month. Imagine this. If you
already have a consistent, well established channel with some videos and you
start publishing shorts, you could gain even
more views than I did. Want to see another
practical example? I have a channel that's
somewhat similar to mine. It's a Minecraft channel. If I go to the shorts section, you can see that
this person gets a lot of views on
their shorts videos. I'll click on the
most popular video. Look at the number
of views this person has achieved 136 million, 130 million, 93
million, and so on. So, you see, this requirement isn't as difficult to
reach as it might seem. Once you've met
these requirements, you'll need to complete a few verifications on your channel, enable two step verification, and follow the
community guidelines, especially when using
copyrighted music from others. Do not use other
people's videos. Always strive to create
original content. Once you have met all
these requirements, you can submit your
channel for review. YouTube typically takes about one to three
business days to complete the verification process and determine if your channel is
eligible for monetization. How do we do this in practice? Well, I can't walk you through this process step by
step because most of my channels are
already monetized and I've already set up the
monetization process. But submitting your channel for review is a very simple process. If you meet all
the requirements, you'll fill out a form where you'll create a Google
AdSense account, which is the payment
intermediary for content creators on YouTube, blogs, and many other platforms. This is the platform through which you'll receive
your payments. So you'll create a
Google AdSense account. After filling out the form, you'll integrate
this Google AdSense account with your
YouTube channel. Once that's done, your channel
will be sent for review. Now, let's say your
channel passes the review and is approved
for monetization. Your channel will
start generating revenue as soon as
it is monetized. Here's what you need to do to start making money
from your videos. You see this
monetization option. You need to make sure this
monetization option is activated so that you can generate revenue
from your videos. Once monetization is activated, this revenue tab will appear in your YouTube
analytics and you'll be able to track the earnings generated from all the
videos you post on YouTube. One important thing
to note is that once your channel starts
generating revenue, you'll need to go through
a verification process within Google AdSens. In this verification process, you'll need to provide
your personal information and submit it to Google Ads. Along with your
personal information, you'll also need to
include your address. It's crucial to
enter your address correctly because Google will send a letter to your address. This letter will contain a confirmation code for your
Google AdSense account. Is this process mandatory? Yes, it's a mandatory
process for you to receive your earnings
through Google Ad Sens. You must have a verified
address to activate your channel's monetization and receive your earnings
from YouTube. After you complete the final
settings in Google AdSense, you'll be eligible to receive
the revenue generated. So we have Google AdSense here. If we click to go to YouTube, it will show my
YouTube earnings. My last payment was 165 90 and my current balance is 21 97. The balance you see
on YouTube will not appear in real
time on Google AdSens. This balance always shows
up in the following month, usually after the 11th. So let's say you enabled
monetization in April. You'll only be able to
see the revenue you generated in April starting
in May, after the 11th. After the 11th, the
revenue generated from YouTube will appear
here in Google AdSens. So how do I transfer this payment from Google
AdSense to my bank account? Google AdSense payments
are made automatically starting from the
21st, and it may vary. You could receive the
payment on the 22nd, 23rd, 24th, or at the
latest on the 25th. You will only receive this
payment on business days. That's why the payment
window extends from the 21st to the 25th. But how do you receive this
payment from Google AdSens? Well, you can use your own bank, and depending on your country, you may need to use an
intermediary platform to receive these payments. That's all for this lesson. I hope you enjoyed it, and
I'll see you in the next one. Take care and thank you.
22. Revenue External on YouTube: Alright, everyone.
In this lesson, I'm going to show you some
additional income streams that you can generate alongside
YouTube monetization, even if your channel
isn't yet monetized. You might be
wondering, Matthias, do these income
sources also apply to channels that have already
reached monetization? Yes, they absolutely do. These are income streams that you can start using right away. In fact, some of them
can even generate more revenue than what you
earn through YouTube AdSense. So to get started, I've created this min map to present to you the alternative income
sources you can explore alongside
YouTube AdSense. The first alternative
source of income is through partnerships and
sponsorships with companies. How does this work in practice? Creators can establish
agreements with companies to continuously
promote products or services, earning a fixed income
or commissions. In other words, if you've already gained some
visibility with your channel, it's crucial to seek out partnerships to promote
on your channel. Sometimes companies might even reach out to you to
form a partnership. This can be an excellent
additional income source to implement alongside YouTube. I imagine some of you have seen channels that occasionally
promote a company. This is likely happening
through sponsorship deals, and it's a great way to earn income outside of
YouTube itself. Another alternative
income source is through referral links. But what are referral
links, Mathias? Basically, creators
can participate in referral programs where you promote products or
services in your videos, earning commissions
or rewards when viewers sign up or make a purchase through
your referral link. In other words, a referral
link is essentially a referral system where when you invite someone
to a platform or service, you can earn either a
percentage commission or a specific amount for each action that
person takes within the platform or service
you're recommending. This is a very effective
way to generate income from your YouTube channel without
relying solely on Ad sens. If you decide to implement
this referral link strategy, you should align it with the niche you're
working in so that it makes sense for your audience to sign up for the
service you're promoting. I can give you some examples
that I've personally implemented using referral links so you can get a better idea. Instance, one of the referral
links I've used is for a cryptocurrency
exchange platform where you can buy and
sell cryptocurrencies. I once had a YouTube channel focused on cryptocurrencies
and investments. So in some of my videos, I promoted this
exchange platform by sharing my sign up link. People would register
through my ink, and from all the
transaction fees generated by buying and
selling cryptocurrencies, I would earn around 20%, and the best part is that
this percentage is lifelong. I did this for a long period, focusing heavily on
cryptocurrencies. I invited a total
of 2,440 people, and 74 of them remained
active after signing up. Below that, you can
see my earnings. The amount in Bitcoin reflects what I earned
just by doing this. So I'm going to convert this
Bitcoin amount into dollars, so you can see approximately how much I earned in that year. I have a Bitcoin to
dollar converter here, and I'll paste the exact
amount of bitcoin I earned during this period for you to see how much it is in dollars. At the current exchange rate, Bitcoin is valued at $66,000. And the amount I earned just from the people
who signed up through my referral link on the exchange platform
was around $6,084. This was the amount I earned as extra income just
through a referral link. I basically recommended
this exchange platform and people signed
up through my ink. Since I received about 20%
of the transaction fees from all the trades made by the people who signed
up through my ink, I earned 6,084 over a year. You might be wondering, Matheus, where can I find platforms
with referral links? You can simply go to Google and search for referral
link platforms, and you'll find various pages with examples of
referral programs. There are pages listing 45 platforms that have
referral systems, including Shopify,
Amazon Associates, Rakuten, Ebay, Partner
Network, and so on. Example, the Airbnb platform allows people to rent
temporary homes, and if you invite people through their referral
program and they book a rental, you can
earn a commission. If you search, you'll find
even more income sources. A very popular referral
link was from TikTok, which exploded during
the pandemic 20020-2021. Another popular one was
from Qui and so on. So researching platforms
with this type of referral system is great to implement on your
YouTube channel. Returning to our mind map, the third income source is
through affiliate marketing. What is affiliate
marketing, Matheus? Basically, creators sign
up for affiliate programs, promote products or services, and earn commissions on sales made through
their affiliate links. How does that work, Matheus? I'm not sure I understand. Affiliate marketing allows you to sign up for a
specific product, whether it's physical or
digital and promote it. For every sale made
through your link, you'll earn a commission. For example, you can become an affiliate with Amazon
and promote books. If people buy those books through your link, you'll
earn a commission. Let's say you
promote a book with an affiliate link for $10, and the commission
per sale is 30%. Easily earn $3 for recommending
that specific product. It's a system similar
to referral links, but instead of promoting
a specific platform, you're promoting a product, whether it's
physical or digital. How do I find
affiliate platforms to promote products on
my YouTube channel? You can search on
Google, as well. When you type in
affiliate platforms, you'll find various sites. For example, this
specific page shows different platforms that
have affiliate programs. There are programs like
Shopify Colabs Share A Sale, AWN, Cj affiliate,
click Bank, and so on. Personally, I use a
platform called Hot Mart, which is popular in my country. I use it to promote
digital products on some of my YouTube channels. Let me give you a
practical example. I have a YouTube channel
where I make sales through affiliate products
on the Hot Mart platform. In the last seven days, I've earned $568 just from affiliate sales,
selling digital products. These digital products
include courses, e books, recurring subscriptions like mentorships and
many other things. In my case, I made 56 sales, and these 56 sales were primarily from courses
with lessons and modules. This is another way
to earn money from your YouTube channel without even monetizing it through ads. Returning to our mind map to present parallel income
sources on YouTube, we also have product sales. Matheus, weren't you already
talking about product sales? Yes, I was talking
about product sales, but specifically in the context
of affiliate marketing, where you're selling
other people's products instead of your own. But in this case, we're talking about selling your own products. It can be digital products
or physical products. For example, in
digital products, if you have expertise in a specific niche where you've
already built authority, you can develop
courses, create eBooks, set up a subscription
service platform, or even sell your
own mentorship. This is an example
of digital products you can develop on
your YouTube profile, which you can then promote
and generate income from. For physical products, they can be anything
you come up with. I've seen many YouTubers
selling t shirts, mugs, and other items. Let me give you an example
of a close friend. He has a YouTube channel
where he creates things from scratch,
almost like an engineer. He started selling
electronic toy cars that he assembled himself
powered by solar energy. This is an example of a
physical product idea. But remember, the product idea should be related to
your channel's content. Another source of income
is faceless channels, channels where you don't
need to show your face. These can be about cooking,
documentaries, history, economics, investments,
soccer, news, TV shows, podcast
clips, and more. Faceless channels are
a great income source, and by applying this strategy alongside the other
income sources mentioned, you can further maximize
your earnings online. In conclusion, you
can also receive external donations similar to Superchat but using external streaming
platforms through PayPal, where you receive
the full amount of the donation and so on. These are the parallel
income sources to YouTube monetization that
you can put into practice. Analyze your channel's
niche and assess whether it makes sense to
implement these strategies. I hope you enjoyed this lesson. See you in the next one.
Best regards, take care.
23. Using Artificial Intelligence for Youtube Video Ideas: All right, everyone.
Now let's move on to the practical parts
with ChatGPT. In this lesson, I'm
going to show you how to get insights and video
ideas using ChatGPT. Here in the chat, you can do the following. Send
this prompt to it. Say something like, can you
suggest five video ideas for a YouTube channel and here
in this theme option, select your channels theme. I'll use digital
marketing as an example. I sent this message to ChatGPT and I received
the following response. The first video idea for a channel about
digital marketing that it suggested was beginner's guide to digital marketing, key strategies for 2024. Another idea was how to create a successful
social media campaign. There's also Best SEO practices, how to rank higher on
Google in 2024 and so on. If it gets the year wrong, that's normal because ChatGPT has limited knowledge
up to a certain date, and if it's outdated,
you can update it. However, in the plus
versions of ChatGPT, it stays more up to date. Another prompt you can
send to ChatGPT to get insights and video ideas is give me viral video ideas
for a YouTube channel about and here you
fill in the theme, as well as some more detailed characteristics
about your channel. I'll fill it in with a channel
about digital marketing. I make videos about
affiliate marketing, paid traffic on Facebook ads, new trends, and much more. In addition to describing my
channel's characteristics, I also describe some types of
videos I've recently made. I sent this prompt to ChatGPT and received the
following response. The first idea is I tried
TikTok ads for a week, a video where I could do
an experimental video showing how I use TikTok ads and whether it's
worth it or not. C for Facebook ads, how to generate $10,000 in sales in 30 days with
Facebook ads and so on. If we look below, there
are even more video ideas. So those were the video ideas I was able to generate
with ChatGPT. Besides regular videos, you can also create
variations of videos. You can make short videos
like those on TikTok or Reels with a duration
of 30 to 60 seconds. You can take the same prompt and modify it for a video on TikTok, Instagram Reels,
or YouTube shorts depending on the platform
where you plan to publish it. Say something give me viral video ideas for a
channel on Tik Tok, Instagram, reels, YouTube shorts about and describe your channel's theme and some more detailed
characteristics. I'll put digital
marketing and send this message to
ChatGPT. There you go. These were the viral video ideas for YouTube shorts
that it suggested. Quick tip to boost
your Facebook ads, performance, and
many other ideas. Below, there's also a guide on how to structure this video. So this is basically how
you can use ChatGPT to get insights and video
ideas as a content creator. This feature can
be very helpful, especially if
you're experiencing a creative block when
producing new content.
24. Creating Efficient Video Scripts: Addition to using ChatGPT to get insights and video ideas, you can also use it to create
video scripts or outlines. How can you do this in practice? Well, in the previous lesson, I got some video ideas. So you can send the
following prompt to ChatGPT. Create a video script about and here you describe the theme and characteristics of
the video you want. For example, in the
previous lesson, ChatGPT gave me some
viral video ideas related to digital marketing. I can ask you to
generate a video script. Let's use one of
the example videos. Top ten digital marketing
tools you need to know about. Highlight some key
characteristics of this idea. So I'll input top ten digital marketing tools
you need to know about, and include some key details to help it generate
the best script. I'll send this
message to ChatGPT. And here's the video script
that ChatGPT created. So the video would
start like this. Hey, everyone. Welcome
back to our channel. If you're serious about
digital marketing, you need the right
tools in your arsenal. Today, we're counting down the top ten digital marketing tools you
need to know about. Let's dive in. Below that, it organized the main topics I would cover
throughout the video. This is how the
script I requested from ChatGPT turned out. Another way you can create
a video script with ChatGPT is by sending
the following prompt. Create a detailed script
for a YouTube video about and then describe the video's theme and
some characteristics. I'll make the same
request as before, but this time, I'll ask for
a more detailed script. I'll input top ten digital marketing
tools you need to know about and send this message to ChatGPT. Here
we go, everyone. This is the more
detailed video script that ChatGPT generated. The introduction is quite
similar to the previous one, but it's more comprehensive. Comparing the following
parts of the script, you'll notice that it's
even more complete. Aanother type of script
you can generate with ChatGPT is a bullet
point outline. Don't know if you're aware, but every content creator
follows a script, whether it's a
written script like the one ChatGPT generated
or a bullet point outline. You can also create bullet
point outlines with ChatGPT. Send the following prompt. Create a video outline with
the key points I should cover and describe the video's theme and
its characteristics. I'll use the same theme and characteristics as in
the previous video, top ten digital marketing
tools you need to know about. Let's see which key
points it highlights. Here's how my video
outline turned out. The first point is
the introduction. The second is the content. Briefly introduce the topic
and purpose of the video. Mention that you
will be covering the top ten digital
marketing tools, highlighting their
features and benefits. And then it goes tool by tool. This is how our bullet
point outline looks. In addition to these methods for creating scripts with ChatGPT, there's a strategy you can use mentioned in previous lessons
called prompt priming, where you ask ChatGPT
sequential questions and then have it arrive
at the final question. I'm going to start
a new conversation with ChatGPT and ask, my video idea will be the same. Top ten digital marketing
tools you need to know about. Ask ChatGPT exactly this before asking it to
create the script. What are the best platforms
for digital marketing? The response I received
was as follows. The best platforms
for digital marketing vary depending on your goals, target audience, and
type of business. Here are some of the top
digital marketing platforms across different categories. And below, it listed each
type of platform by category. Now, I'm going to
write the following a sequential question related to this topic using
prompt priming. Is it possible to
earn money using all platforms,
scaling my business? This is a sequential question. The response I
received was, Yes, it's possible to
earn money by using multiple digital marketing
platforms and scaling your business effectively.
Here's how you can do it. And below, it listed how I could do this
process in practice. Now I'm going to ask
my final question. Since I've trained ChatGPT
through sequential questions, I'll use the same prompt. Create a video script about top ten digital marketing
tools you need to know about. I'll send this
message to ChatGPT. Look at how the
video script turned out with an even more
complete script. After all, I trained ChatGPT
using prompt priming, and it understood the
type of response I wanted based on my
previous questions. But, Matheus, the scripts that ChatGPT generates for
me seem too formal. I'd like to create a script that matches my speaking
style. No problem. You can create a video script using your own tone of voice. How can you do this in practice? You can send the
same previous prompt specifying that you wanted
to create a script. You'll define the theme and
characteristics of the video. Then press Shift plus Enter and add using the same tone of voice as the
video script below. Press Shift plus Enter again. And at this point,
you'll need to provide at least a draft of a script you've written manually before. You can send this
script to ChatGPT. So I have this script from another lesson. I'll
paste it below. Take a look at this script. Will it use my same
tone of voice from this script to create
a new one? Yes. I'll send this
message to ChatGPT and see what its response
is. Alright, everyone. Look at how the script turned
out when I asked it to use my tone of voice from a draft script I sent.
Here's how it looks. So, folks, today
we're diving into a fascinating journey through the top ten digital marketing tools you
need to know about. Just like how our thoughts
shape our reality, the right tools can shape your
digital marketing success. And this is how the
video script turned out that ChatGPT
generated for me. If you'd like, you
can pause the lesson to review and compare it
with the previous script.
25. Creating Viral Thumbnails for Your Channel with ChatGPT: Now you will learn
how to optimize SEO for your YouTube
channel using ChatGPT. This lesson won't only be
useful for YouTube channels, but also for some social media
profiles like Instagram, Tik Tok, and others. So Mateos, what is SEO? SEO stands for search
engine optimization. In other words, SEO is the process of optimizing
content for search engines. Are various popular
search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, and even YouTube, which we can classify as a search engine, since it is a search
engine for videos. With the help of ChatGPT, you can perform SEO optimization
for your YouTube videos, allowing you to rank your videos higher in search results. I'm here on the
computer screen with this video inside
YouTube Studio. So we have a title,
a description, and tags already filled in, but I'm going to use
ChatGPT to optimize them. How can I do this in practice? Here's HAGPT. You can
do the following. Let's say you want to
optimize your title. In ChatGPT, you can use
the following command. What would be good SEO friendly titles for
my videos about? In the theme, you describe
the main topic of your video. I'll input the main
topic of my video. Earn more than $20 per day
with passive income online. I'll take this title,
which is my theme, paste it into ChatGPT
and send this message. Here are the SEO
optimized titles that ChatGPT generated for me. How to earn $20 daily online, top passive income
sources, another title. Make 20 POs every day with these passive income
strategies. Another title. Daily $20 Income Online. Best passive income Ideas
for 2024, and so on. In my case, I'll use
this specific title. But instead of five sources, I'll just include
income sources, how to earn $20 daily online, top passive income sources. Now you can create a good
description to optimize for SEO. You'll write the
following command. Can you help me create an
SEO optimized description for my video about and
describe the theme? I'll use my title. How to earn $20 Daily online top
passive income sources. I'll send this
message to ChatGPT, and let's see what
description it generates. This was the description
it created for me. Unlock the secrets to earning over $20 daily with passive income sources
on the Internet. In this video, we'll dive into the best strategies
and methods that can help you generate
a steady stream of income without constant effort. Whether you're a
beginner or looking to expand your current
online earnings, these tips and tricks
are perfect for anyone aiming to achieve
financial freedom. And more content below. So this is how the
description that ChatGPT created
for me turned out. I'll make this change in the
video description option, paste the description
it generated and save it to continue. Another SEO
optimization task for your description is
optimizing through hashtags. This significantly increases
your video's reach on the YouTube platform. I added three hashtags, which are also good
Jas passive income, Jas earn money online,
J digital marketing. These tags were also
generated by GPT. To generate new tags, you
can do the following. Type the prompt, what
video tags would be effective for my video and describe the
theme of your video. So the theme of my video is
how to earn $20 daily online, top passive income sources. I'll take this same title, input it into ChatGPT
and send the message. Here are some tags it suggested. You passive income,
other make money online, do earn money and others. You can choose at
least three hashtags to optimize your videos for SEO. It's important to note that
these hashtags are also very useful on other social
media platforms like Tik Tok, Facebook, Instagram, and others. Can use these hash tags to optimize your videos
for SEO as well. Another SEO optimization
task you can do for your videos is
in the tag section. Tags are essentially keywords linked to your YouTube videos. For example, if someone
searches for digital marketing, my video might show up. It won't appear right now
because I've set it to private, but if I make it public,
it's likely to show up. Or if someone searches for earn $20 per day, it
might also appear. This is a very
important aspect of SEO optimization for
your YouTube videos. You're going to type
the following prompt. What would be good tags for a YouTube video with the title? And you can edit
either the title or the theme of the video? I'll input the title
to help improve the SEO optimization
even further. I'll paste my title again and send this message to ChatGPT. And these are some tags it
suggested. Make money online. Passive income, income
sources, extra income, online business,
income opportunities, digital marketing, work
from home among others. I can take all
these tags that it suggested and insert them into the tag section
of my video. If you do the same as I did, it probably won't work if you copy and paste them all at once, as it will result in an error
due to tags being too long. You need to separate
these tags with commas. Once you do that, you
can copy the tags separated by commas and
insert them into your video. I'll do that, and
here's how it looks. I'll click the Save button. Another CO task you can also perform on your YouTube channel is in the settings option. You go to the channel option, and in the keywords section, you can insert some
keywords for your channel. I'll delete the already inserted
keywords and in ChatGPT, write the following prompt. Give me keywords or tags for a YouTube channel and describe your channel's niche and
some characteristics like the videos you publish
and other information. I'll input a channel called Matheus Stangherlin
on digital marketing, investment and online business. I'll send this
message to ChatGPT, and these will be
the keywords it suggests for my YouTube channel. You do the same.
Separate these tags with commas and insert
them into your channel. I'll take these tags again, paste them into the
keyword section and click the save button. These are the ways
you can optimize SEO on your YouTube channel. I hope you enjoyed this lesson, and I'll see you
in the next one.
26. Boost Your YouTube Channel's SEO with ChatGPT: The previous lesson, I
showed you how to do SEO optimization for
your YouTube videos. In this lesson, I'm
going to show you how to create thumbnails
using ChatGPT. Mathis, is it possible to
create thumbnails with HAGPT? While you can't create the
thumbnail itself with HAGPT, you can get a guide or better yet a description of a
good idea to create one. Video where I did
the SEO optimization was this specific video. Thi thumbnail here I made using the guide that ChatGPT provided, I suggested including
an image of myself, but since I didn't
have one, I used a photo from another
example lesson. In ChatGPT, you can type the following prom to help
formulate your thumbnails. Describe a viral thumbnail
for a YouTube video about and describe the theme and characteristics
of your video. I'll define the theme and characteristics here,
which are my title. I'll enter my title and send
this message to ChatGPT. Instead of just
describing the thumbnail, ChatGPT generated
an image for me, an image that I can actually use as a thumbnails, and
it turned out really. But I'll send the
following prompt. 12 58x7 20 to tell ChatGPT that I want an HD
image to use as a thumbnail. So in this way, you can generate images with HAGPTO better yet, create thumbnails with HGPT. Now I'm going to use it to
describe a thumbnail so that I can create it from scratch
based on its descriptions. All right. Now describe
a viral thumbnail for a YouTube video about and then include the theme and
characteristics of the video. Don't make an image,
and there you go. Right below, it provided
some ideas on how I could create this thumbnails on the characteristics
I gave it. Based on this description, I can create my thumbnail
using platforms like Canva. I can also use software like Photoshop or Photoscape
to build my thumbnails. Matheus, I don't
have much knowledge in design to make my thumbnail. You can use the Canva platform, which is very simple to use. You can take the characteristics of the thumbnail type that ChatGPT formulated and create
a thumbnail within Canva. After creating your thumbnails, you can upload it to your video. It's important to mention that I created this thumbnail
using Canva, so you can see how you can do design work on that platform.
