1. Introduction: a hello there and welcome to this many course on getting us side hustle. My name is Flavio, and I am just very passionate about side hustles, and I just firmly believe that everyone should have a little side business of your own. Now, a question I see over and over again. Not just in my group, but also in many other groups are questions along the lines of Hey, what's everyone side hustle? What's everyone's business? I'm just looking for some ideas, and I get where that question is coming from. But at the end of the day, everyone is different. Everyone is different. Amounts of resource is different talents and different strengths and weaknesses and time. And, you know, the list goes on and on, so it's just very different for everyone. Just because someone is very successful earning maybe even six figures doing X business, it doesn't mean that business would be perfect for you. It might be very opposite. Just as an example, many years ago, I began a side hustle as a wedding deejay. So for some people, maybe that would be a great idea before others. That would be a terrible idea. Maybe you don't have 3 $4000 to get all the equipment up front that's required. Maybe you're terrified of speaking in front of people and speaking into a microphone in front of people. So that would be a terrible idea for you, Maybe have no interest in being around people in helping someone plan an event. If that's the case, that would also be a very bad idea for you. Um, so it's just, you know, some examples there. So my goal is to knowing that I can't be the one to give you the exact idea and, you know, business to run with. I can hopefully get the mind thinking a little bit of a lot of different ideas of what people are doing out there. Then you can do a little bit of extra research once you find something you want to zero in on. And then from there, definitely ask questions and guidance to help take that to the next level. So that's really with the goal is for this many course. It's not in any way any comprehensive guide to go over in detail. How to do any of these is just more of how to get you with equipped with ideas so you can go from there. So it's broken up into a few different sections. Number one Services based, whether it's local based or freelancing and then also product driven, which is e commerce, network marketing, things like that. And then, of course, any other ways of making money online that maybe don't fall into those categories. So I hope you find this very helpful. If you have any questions, definitely put them in the comments asking in the group. Um, feel free to do any of those, and we can hopefully help you get started with a side hustle of your own. Thanks for checking this out, and I hope it proves to be very valuable to you.
2. Local Based Businesses: All right, So we're going to start this many course with going over local based businesses. This is perhaps the most common. I don't want to say easiest, but it's definitely the most common that most people start with when they're looking for a side hustle or business. This is what I started with back in 2000 for when I first began side hustling while I was in the military, in the Navy. And that was a wedding deejay business, which you will see D. J here on the list. So again, this is just a list. There are many more than this, and some of these you can go down a rabbit hole and even create many different versions or other similar type businesses that you can dio. But again, this is just to give you an idea. And this is, um, you know, again local based businesses, meaning it would be a good idea. Teoh, have a website market, that website have business cards network with other people in the area. Um, you know, list yourself on Google. My business. You can come up in your local ghoul results, you know. So that's what comes with this territory in this section off local based business and you want to listed on other places. You can list that on places like Craig's, less than other local classified directories, your local paper, any newsletters that maybe local churches have. Um, you know, diners sometimes will have the placemats or other boards and things like that. We can poster business. You want to do all of those as well. So basically, those are all the things that come with local based business, all that kind of grassroots marketing and then also some paid marketing you can do to get that word out. Um, once you do start to get business, the best way to get repeat business is number one doing a great job. I think that goes without saying for any type of business, but also getting, you know, referrals from all those people doing a very good job for them having word of mouth having them say, you know, Hey, if you want to deal with this, um, you know a great moving company or a great handyman or whomever you want them to mention your name in that same breath, Another way you can do it is to join a lot of local Facebook groups. Each city in town has their own, like local buy, sell trade. Typically, it's OK to post businesses and those or in certain days again, you want to double check that first, make sure you're not spamming anyone or anything like that. So let's go through some of this list here. So for local based businesses, we have something like Candyman. So if you're good with your hands, you're good with, kind of, you know, doing little odds and ends your good around your own home with doing things like that. And maybe you're not like me where you have to basically hire somebody all the time to do something. And being a handyman would be great for you. Um, you know, for instance, my brother is very good with doing things like that. So that would be great for him. For me, Not so good. I'm not very good with doing things like that s so maybe that could be a very easy one for you. List yourself on Craigslist. In places like that, you'd be surprised how fast your phone starts to ring or, you know, you start to get messages to perform the work. It's it's pretty fast. Landscaper kind of goes along with that. You can easily, um, do a landscaping business. If you don't like toe landscape, you can even, you know, subcontract have some other people do it with you. And I'm not giving any tax advice. You have to see the laws in your area. But, you know, have somebody do and you pay them. So in other words, if you get a job to do some commercial landscaping for $100 maybe you're gonna pay someone $50 you keep the other 50. Um, you know, whatever it might be just as an example, and you can see right here for this. This is a landscaping company brought up in my area. I'm not crazy about the Web site, but it's decent, gets the job done the basic website that at least they can point some people towards. So that way, when someone says, you know Hey, do you have a website? Let me check it out. Because these days most people do want to check out some sort of credibility or anything like that. They can at least pointing to here to have some basic information about the company. Andi, have somebody be able to ah, move forward. So that's on example. There you can have you be a photographer and on bats for events, mainly unless you have an area that you could have as a studio. That would also be bonus points and be very good to specialize. Maybe in business headshots. Maybe you conduce specialize in families, our engagement photos or new babies. You know that's the rabbit hole is talking about. You can go down that rabbit hole of a photographer, something a simple as that, but really specialize in when you specialize. It's a lot easier to get business because you can become known in your areas. That person, the go to person for that type of, um, you know photography D J. Same thing. This is the business that I begin back in 2000. For here is my website. Um, it's a very good website, but I'm biased because I'm the one that did it. But this is a website that gets the job done, builds a lot of credibility, has a lot of functionality. People can make payments on here. They can book me through here. They can even chat with me on here. So this is something else that you can do. And again, it's just that the more credibility and you know you can really sell your clients, the more you can sell your potential clients or prospects, the easier it's going to be for them to book you now. For local based businesses, you don't have to have all these websites. You can also utilize Facebook. So basically, with Facebook, it's getting more and more advanced where you can do more and more things on there so you can even book right on the platform. People can choose times if you really try hard enough. You can even have people pay you through the platform through messenger and things like that. So there there is a lot of increased functionality so you can get away if you want to to, with having starting out for just mainly a social media presence and then with Facebook, that could be your main webpage, if you will. You can even buy a domain for like 10 bucks, if not less, and you can have it direct over to your Facebook page, which is a no brainer. To do that along the lines of D. Jane photographer. You can also be a wedding planner. You going to be a videographer breaking away from that a little bit. You can do car detail ing very easy to do that and get, you know, listed locally and whatnot. House and commercial cleaning Very popular one. It doesn't sound very sexy, but everyone needs these types of services, especially cleaning, especially commercial places. They all need to have their places cleans, so they're constantly looking to maybe save if they're already doing it. Or if it's a new business and new space, they're going to be looking for cleaning. But then obviously people looking for house cleaning as well all the time. So that's a very good one to do, um, as well. And again kind of like that landscaper one. If you don't want to clean yourself, you can also start to subcontract out. Get the clients first, and then when you do, you can post on Craigslist and other places like that that you're looking for someone to do some work and then you can pay him a portion while you keep the other portion retail store that requires a storefront because we're gonna talk about e commerce later on. So local based business would be if you find a very inexpensive storefront in your area that you can get and you can sell products from them being a consultant's. If you have a past life where you're very knowledgeable in a certain area, you can be a local consultant for similar type businesses. In my case, I was. I'm very experienced in the insurance industry and financial industry because that's where I have a background in. So if I wanted to, I could be a consultant to local insurance and financial companies and, you know, kind of helped them with their business and kind of consulting with that. So that's an option. Or maybe you have a background in the mortgage industry or you know, any other type of industry out there you can do moving company or packing or anything like that to, you know, local based. You know, you just need to get a truck, or unless you're doing just packing or actual moving help. That's another popular one right there. I know every time that I move, I don't want to do all that myself. So I hire someone to come in, do the moving even if I'm going to drive the truck. If I rented my own truck, I still want someone to come in. And you know, I'm hiring the labor. Basically. So that's something else you can do that is very popular Dog Walker dog trainer or boarding ? Um, you know, moving companies on here twice. I apologize for that. But we already covered moving company. You could do meal planning or fitness very big right now. Anything. Meal planning, Because people want to be healthy. They want to plan ahead for the weak, but they just can't do it. So now you can help them with either menus or the actual food itself being delivered to them. Very popular right now. In the local space, you can do tutoring for people s. So if you're very good in particular subject matter, for you know whether it's elementary or middle and high school is more popular, of course, and also college where you can specialize there. If you can play instruments pretty well, you can do instrument lessons. Those air very, very good money. And if you posted on Facebook and, um, Craigslist. In the local places like that, your phone will be ringing almost right away. So if you can play the guitar, piano and other types of instruments, I highly suggest utilizing that knowledge by doing instrument lessons. Very, very good way to to monetize your knowledge and a real estate agent insurance agent those air 10 99 sales positions that you can kind kind of do whenever eso those air. Very, very good quote unquote side hustles as well. Or, you know, side business toe Have that maybe can even morph into your permanent business one day, you know, a full time business. And then, lastly, I have electron ICS, repair, auto repair any other types of repair. You can think of phone repair if you're good with gadgets and things like that and repairing screens. So all those different things are also very needed, um, out there. So again, this is just to kind of get the ideas moving. I do have some more resource is and the text below thes ideas air repeated there, along with any links to ideas that maybe I'm giving you or resource is so any other questions that you have on these local based businesses or any other ideas, go ahead and post them below. Duffy, look forward to seeing some answers there.
3. Freelancing As A Side Hustle: all right, so we went over local based businesses. The next one is my favorite one. This is the one that I've utilized the most since about 2012 or 2013 ish when I first started getting into Web design. So with this one here, this is my favorite for a few reasons, because I'm focusing here on freelancing, mainly freelancing that you can do from the comfort of your own home. Now, that's that's what a lot of us want to be able to work from home and do a lot of things from home. So everything on this list are things that you can actually do from home. So graphic design, if you are good with graphics, you know, photo shop illustrator, any sort of programs like that. If you have a background in that, you could be monetizing that you can offer graphic design. There are many, many businesses and entrepreneurs, and you know, plenty others out there all the time looking for quality graphics, especially this day in age with, you know, social media being very popular, Um, and that just means that there's more and more of a need to have quality graphics for People's Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, other channels, their websites. You know any of their projects, things like that. So there's always always in need for graphic design. So if you are skilled in that area, or if you're not skilled in that area and you want to learn, then I highly recommend picking that up as a um, you know, a skill that you have, you know, obviously could be learned. No one was born a tiny infant already knowing how to do graphic design. It just doesn't happen that way. You know something that people picked up and learned while taking some classes, maybe even high school indefinitely in college or other types of avenues like that. But there are a lot of courses and things you can take right online and, um, and learn how to do graphic design website designed pretty similar to that. That's kind of what I began with when I started working online was website design. I know how to code a little bit that I've learned over the years, but not a lot. So these days you can actually do a lot of Web design. There's a difference between Web design and Web development. Web development is more into the coding and getting very custom with the website that I do not do. I do hire out when customers or clients need that, but it's not something that I do. If you're good with coding and all that, then you can definitely do that. You can do custom websites and Web development as well as app, development and things like that for businesses. But for myself, I mainly focused on the design part of it and constructing the website and putting it together. So these days, if you're using WordPress or Shopify, I'm sure even squarespace which kind of the three big ones out there. But if you're utilizing those types of platforms, you don't even need to code. You can just go on their learn how to put. They mainly operate off a templates and things like that, so it's not extremely difficult to do once you kind of get in the weeds a little bit and learn how to do it. So maybe that's a skill to pick up on decreed websites for people along those same lines is being a social media manager. That's something that over the last year or so I have, you know, focused my business more on instead of Web site design, where it's kind of one and done. I like doing the social media work where it's kind of recurring revenue. I get someone on retainer for, you know, X amount of dollars per month doing their social media. So again, if you're good with social media or you want to learn more about it, that's a great opportunity for you to be able to do that. I recently did a course showing people how to grow Facebook pages, how to get Facebook clients. So things like that also help people out and get getting going, Um, bookkeeping service. So, along with that, you can also do bookkeeping any sort of other accounting things like that. Virtual assistants. Or maybe you don't know bookkeeping specifically, but you want to be a virtual assistant. Virtual assistant is basically being someone's assistant in their business, but you're doing it virtually from home. You're not there. Um, you're kind of like an adamant assistant, but from home, So maybe you helping with emails you're helping with phone calls. Maybe you're helping with some data entry. Maybe it's even more intense in that, and you're helping with their social media and helping with, you know, some of their other needs that they have. But these days, many businesses and entrepreneurs are looking for virtual assistants. It keeps the costs down. They don't have to hire someone in their location toe. Help him with these different things. That's certainly a very good avenue to take resume writer career coach If you're good with writing resumes and helping people look for careers, you know you can you can do that. Ah, as a service is well, you know, linked in would be a great platform toe. Showcase yourself. There you can do editing services, copyrighting editing anything along those lines again. Websites, podcasts, YouTubers. All these channels have a lot of content. Bloggers, um you know, even online magazines and things like that. They all need editing. You know, authors. No. So all these different types of things and create again a nice website and his Facebook page market yourself. If you're good with edit saying maybe you're a English major, things like that you can put all that to good use video, photo production or editing. So basically, either video or photo editing or production again, there's a lot of entrepreneurs that are doing a lot of content for podcasting, for you tubing just their business in general, or many local based companies that are looking to take their marketing to the next level. And they want some local videos done, and they want photos done so you can do all that type of work right from home. Cold center services, Phone sales If you're good on the phones, have experience on the phones and sales. You can offer companies that service to be able to basically be a telemarketer for them. Recall, Sir called Center from home, and you can even end up hiring out and getting more people and really increasing that business. Travel planner for corporate um, many corporate places. Air always looking to plan for a big conference of there's maybe a big trip of theirs, you know, especially sales organizations always planning, um, so they need somebody to plan. It may not be the actual travel agent, but also somethingto help plan. Not all companies have that internally said something that you could help with data entry. We kind of talked a little bit about that with the virtual assistant idea and then also writing. We talked about editing, but maybe for good at writing, you could be a ghost writer for either writing books for people. And you can ask yourself, Why would I do that? Why would I want to write a book, an e book or a regular book for someone else other than myself? Why not put your own name on it and make your own money? Well, there's risk involved to that. There's a lot of books out there, and just because a book it's self published and put out into the world, that does not mean it's going to sell. So that means that you like a lot of authors and artists out there. You can be putting a lot of things out there and then don't get any money from it, and therefore all that's high new spends. You did not get to sell it because it's not just writing a book. After that, you have to market the book. It has to be, you know, the right audience that they're selling to, but in your case, you don't need to worry about that. If you're just a writer. Go a ghostwriter. You can write a nonfiction book for someone on a topic. Let's say health or fitness or business or leadership or management Or, you know, whatever your area of geniuses, you can write that and then your your job stops there. If they're going to pay you 500 to $1000.2000 dollars. Whatever it is for that book, you make that money for that time that you invested in making that book, and that's it. After that, if they sell a lot of copies, find they do. If they don't, it's not your problem anymore. You got paid for the work that you did. You have to worry about marketing that book, Um, and also writing block articles, writing, you know, basically anything again. We're in a content world where there's a lot of content going out so you can do a lot of writing, um, s CEO and ads. If you're good with digital marketing s seo Facebook ads, things like that. You can do that for freelancing. You can help companies over entrepreneurs do there, there s CEO and do there Facebook ads and run it for them and everything like that meal planning and fitness. I think we may have talked about this a little bit of local based business. But, um, you can do this also online by doing like some sort of online meal planning or fitness coaching of fitness planning, things like that online that you can help people with. You can do tutoring online. We talked about this at the local level. Um, you know, cheering high school students and things like that. You can also do it online. You don't have to be right there to tutor, especially what Skype. In all the technology that we have today, you can do translation services that's becoming again, more and more popular as we have people from around the world that are looking to get into business here in the United States or here, states expanding out to go somewhere else. So you can do that any which way that you want to translation services. Also a very big one. So again, this is, um, you know, not an exhaustive list, but just some ideas to get you going, and I want to show you a few platforms that you can go to. So for instance, on this one I put in virtual assistant. This is fiver. I love the links below. And you can have you can find so many people to do things for you. So now you have all kinds of different ranges of prices and everything like that. But it's a platform. And for this person, they have a lot of reviews. $50. So basically, they're going to be a virtual assistant, and then they have their pricing here. So $50 looks like it gets, um, five hours of work. That's $10 an hour. So you might say you don't want to earn $10 an hour. I hear you. You can change that around so you can make yours be, you know, three hours of work for $50. So now you're earning more money per hour. You know, that's that's up to you. You decide the prices, but fiver is, ah, platform where buyers come on here and look for people like you that are offering services . So that's a good place to go. Another place similar to that is up work. You can sign up to be on here to be a freelancer and again you can see that tailoring it to people look in the hire freelancers, and they even give you ideas of some of the different things that are available here. Um, outsource. And a platform that I like that I'm actually a freelancer on as well as free up. I will have that below. They do not take ah, whole lot of freelancers on. But when coming from a referral on them or likely to look at that candidate So I will give you a link below that you can utilize if you noticed. Have some information here about the top 1%. They are very strict and rigorous about who they take, um, under their platform. But I can tell you it is a very good platform, um, to come on board to So I can definitely share that with you there. And then, lastly, you can also go into craigslist. You can post here in the services section. This is I can also get some ideas you can post in the service of section five year service follows whichever category can post it there. And then also, if you go to gigs, that this is where you confined. Um you know, people that need different things. So this is, you know, electrician's helper lead electrician's. So this is right there showing that that they need someone someone needs a freelance writer . Now, I will also say that, you know, at the end of the day, this is Craig's. There are scams on here, so be careful. Make sure that you're doing the right thing and doing your due diligence to look up and make sure that it's a legit type of business or person that is looking for somebody. So that's some freelancing. Ideas that you can do will have some more. Resource is below this video for you, and we'll see on the next lecture.
4. Ecommerce: All right, So the next topic or area of side hustles that we can do is e commerce. And this is one of my favorite areas, since this is where I, uh, besides freelancing. This is kind of where I am doing my side hustles as well. So let's begin. Um, you know, first, let me start off by saying that e commerce, you probably saw this category. And if you've never done e commerce, you already probably wrote this section off because you're thinking to yourself I don't have any products. And for the longest time, I thought that as well, and I wanted to get into selling products. But I'm like, I don't have products. What am I going to Dubai, You know, a pallet full of products. What am I gonna create my own product and find a factory that will do it? That's just too much work, right? So the good news is, we don't need to do that anymore. We're in a time right now where we can, um, do a lot of products on demand. Weaken, drop, ship them. We can do affiliate products. We can you know a lot of things. So I'm going to get into some of those right now and again. The point of this course is not so overloaded and get in the weeds and show you how to do all these things is just that it's possible. Then, after that, you got to begin your own research to start to go down that rabbit hole and see how you can continue and possibly do that. So let's start with the 1st 1 You want to start any commerce, but maybe you don't have a product, and you the 1st 1 is gonna be drop shipping to either a website with that. So that's like your own Shopify website, maybe WordPress utilizing woo commerce or something like that, Um, or to a marketplace that's, you know, something like Amazon or eBay in those types of places and, um, you know, etc. And all that, so we'll go over some of those so drop shipping or affiliate products kind of the same thing. I personally use affiliate products in my e commerce shops by importing some Amazon products and a looks native to the Web site, except that when they click the buy now button, it brings them to Amazon the check out, and then I received a commission for that for offering that affiliate product. But if it makes sense to my website and helps the customer because it's something that they're looking for and I just don't carrier carry it, then I feel that's a win win for both the customer as well as myself. So that's how the affiliate products work in terms of e commerce. I'm not going to spend too much time on those right here. But I do have that on the list because if you wanted to, you could create an affiliate product. Onley website. Really, if you wanted to. But let's talk a little bit about the drop shipping for a second. So for drop shipping, this is a tool. It's called the SM tool that you can drop ship easily so you can drop ship to either eBay or Shopify with this one and has plenty of suppliers. Now, eBay again do your own research and everything, but eBay is pretty strict with what you can or cannot, um, drop ship and and how you do it. But Theus M. Tool, they do have some information on that, and they do have, I believe a, um, e bay drop shipper that is supported by them. So, um, you know, you definitely want Teoh check that out. But they do have a bunch of information here as two different ones that you can drop ships or drop shipping basically is finding a product on any of these sources that they have. So in other words, maybe at Kmart they're doing away with a product, and they have a rock bottom price at, like, $20. But I noticed on eBay or Amazon that it's worth 40 $45. I can literally drop ship that product Aiken listed for 40 $45. Since I know that's what it's worth, and then when someone actually buys it, then I go ahead and purchase it from Kmart and ship it to the customer. So that is drop shipping in a nutshell. Basically, you don't have the product yet. You're only going to have to purchase it if someone purchases that product now. Another way that you can do it is this is another website again. I'm gonna have these links below, but this is wholesale to be, and I've actually used them before. and wholesale to be. I've used it to, um, drop ship over to eBay a while back. So this is the places they support Amazon, eBay, Shopify, big commerce woo commerce bonanza. So all these different places that you can drop ship tubes and then they have basic information here about their integration. T do all those. So would that be and said, you know, what you do is you find different products and same ideas that theus m tool that we just did. You find a different products. So let's say I wanted to maybe, um I don't know if I can actually see them without logging in or anything. Maybe So this one is giving me an idea. So, uh, no. This video pack is but suggested retail prices 3 99 and it costs me 100. So my profit is to 99 now, sometimes some of these air a little inflated. But even if we took some of that away instead of offering for 3 99 maybe if you did it for even $300 now you're talking a wholesale price of 100. That's still a very good amounts of profit. $200 in that example. So the nice thing about this is it Does it auto magically, You just click about in all the, you know, stock photos and description pricing, and everything goes over to that platform. So you know, again, you can do, um, over to Amazon. If you wanted to do a marketplace in When you're starting out with the commerce, I do recommend starting out with marketplaces. It gets your feet went very nicely, gets you some sales because they have people. They have shoppers already. So Amazon has millions upon millions of shoppers every month on their website that already have the credit cards stored and ready to purchase products. And if you could do your own website with your own name and branding, that's the long term play. But in the beginning, no one knows who you are. They're not going to take out their credit card and purchase from a website they've never heard off unless it's very nichd and specific, which again, that's a different conversation for a different day. But if it's just a general online store that has so many various products, kind of like Amazon, why would I want to purchase their when I can just go to Amazon and purchase. So I do recommend, you know, starting out on Amazon. And you can do that by going the Amazon seller central and where you can register here. There is a cost for Amazon Seller Central's $39 a month. But again, if you ask me to be able to sell on Amazon, the world's best marketplace and arguably the best company in the world, to pay only under $40 per month to sell on their platform to me is an absolute no brainer to me. So that's exactly how you would do it is good. Amazon seller Central Sign up and you can drop ship to there with products now along those same lines selling F B A on Amazon once you sign up here, FB A. Basically means fulfilled by Amazon, so it means that I find products that I want to sell. But I don't necessarily want to deal with customers or find those customers, or what I do is maybe you, you know, it's called the Retail Arbitrage, where you can go to your local stores, finds low priced products new products by them, and then you ship them to Amazon and you list. Um, And when someone purchases it than Amazon goes there, what they do is they shipped the products to the customer, they fulfill it, and then you get paid, so you don't have to worry about doing that, so you only go to the post office one time. So as an example, you go to the stores new purchase, maybe 40 products of something you think is going to sell Very well. You go and shipped those 40 products, you're done. You can wash your hands of it for right now in terms of, you know, physical. Anyway, obviously, you're going to want to track those, make sure that you have a price right and maybe might have to make some tweaks along the way. But that's kind of how f B A works again from a 20,000 foot of you, Um, so he'd be able to sell regular products on Amazon. You can do printing a print on demand, so print on demand is basically T shirts and mugs and hats and things like that stickers. So basically, you create a design. So if you're looking here on these, all these different designs. Someone just created the design, not the shirt. I can only drop shipping. The product does not exist yet, so you create a design. You upload it and it gets put on all these different products that red bubble has or spread shirt or merch by Amazon or all these other different platforms all post some links below. And what happens is when someone purchases the product in this case red bubble, they would go ahead and fulfill it, send it out to the customer, and then you receive a royalty, much like a book royalty. So that's how print on demand works. And then you can also buy wholesale lots and sell retails. That's kind of something you can do with FDA as well. And again, I'm not gonna get into great detail. But the idea is the same. You can buy a big lots. You can find them on eBay, but more even better, you confined him in China and you know Ali Baba Ali Express and places like that. So where you confined? Um ah, whole bunch of products that you can sell. But again, the product problem there is you may get stuck with inventory. You do have inventory risk, unlike drop shipping a print on demand where you don't have that kind of risk involved. Um, the other thing you can do is you can also sell on, um, you know, do along with products reselling that last one. We're gonna talk a bit more about reselling afterwards on eBay, in places like that, but on etc, you also can sell vintage product. So these this is their vintage category. So for the art and collectibles, for instance, if I click that it should take me to here where I have these difference, um, products that I can look at now again, you might know these products into now and no vintage. I personally don't know vintage, so this model would be hard for me. It have to do a bunch of research and what not to know what sells but through the, you know, vintage is something that you can sell on Etsy, um, as well. And last but not least, self publishing and selling notebooks and things like that. I personally do have a course on this. I will link to a below, but this is another great thing. So basically, this book right here is a notebook. That's just a cover like that that you can easily create. And the inside is blank, pretty easy stuff. So you basically upload a blank book. Um, and when it sells, you make royalties on it, just like a regular book or like that print on demand example that we did. So I do have a course that shows you all of this. It's called low content. Publishing is basically what this business model is. There's also a lot of other information on lines very popular, and maybe that's a very good option for you. Toe sell online here on Amazon, and you can also do it on other platforms like Barnes and Noble Kobo and things like that. And that about covers the e commerce section. Any questions post them below. And thanks for checking this out. And again, this is just a 20,000 foot view. There's a lot of directions we can go in with all these, and we'll talk a little bit more about reselling when we get to that area. But for right now, I just want to go over this
5. Network Marketing: All right, So next let's talk about network marketing and you know that's MLM um, you know, multilevel marketing, whatever you wanna call it. That's what it used to be often called now. These days it's more called network marketing, mainly because you are networking when selling these products. So let me talk first a little bit about network marketing and fuel my thoughts on it. So network marketing is, you know, and you can see some examples here of companies. I'm sure you've heard of some of these on the list, whether it be Beachbody, Herbalife, AdvoCare. You know that there's tons of them in all kinds of difference, you know, types of topics or products. Rather. So this is just a small, small fraction of the types that are out there. But when it comes to network marketing, my thoughts on it is this. Basically, it is a, um, you know, distributor or you are distributor for their products. That's your relationship to them. So, in other words, if you are going to be doing Beachbody and you're gonna be selling some of their supplements or shake ology, which is their shakes, in essence, they just are supplying you with a product. So what I mean by that is some people get caught up in the fact that you know their Beachbody or their herbal life for their AdvoCare. Forget about that. You know, build your own brands, build a website, build your own social media presence, a group of following or something that instead would be focused on health in that case or weight loss. Or if you're doing one of these other ones, that is not health related. If it's Tupperware, or since your party light, then it's about, you know, being social and partying and candles and things like that. So focus on that and not so much who that you are selling four. And I always kind of relate that toe like, um, you know, financial firm, for instance. You know, if you have a something, something, you know, financial wealth agency, they're not calling themselves Prudential Agency. They're not calling themselves, you know, whatever product or flavor of the day. They're selling their kind of coming up with their own name and selling it if you go to a local convenience store and they have a lot of different products inside their branded as themselves 7 11 for example, Do they have their own products? You know the generic brand, of course. But I'm talking about the rest of the products they have in their are not theirs. They get it from suppliers, but at the end of the day, they brands themselves. How they want in that case is 7 11 so I'm gonna put a link there if I can hopefully confined it. But I came across a very good example of that for somebody who's a Beachbody coach. But by going to her website, you wouldn't even be able to tell that she's a Beachbody coach just because it's a branded as herself, as you know, being someone who's very good with fitness and health. And she even wrote a book, and so she can market that. But at the end of the day, when she recommends products, she's just gonna recommend Beachbody. But it doesn't have to be, you know, the only something that she does. And I think that's a mistake. I see people doing on social media. They'll join one of these network marketing companies, and then all you see in their feeds is, you know, different um, you know, you know, Hey, I work and I'm doing herbal life right now, So check out their products and on all that. So I think that's a little bit, you know, going backwards. I I think it's better to build your own brand and say, Listen, if you're looking to lose weight or get healthier, send me a message or click here to sign up for a consultation call, I will help you. And then that way you're number one. You're not selling any product. Instead, you're just selling a service of yourself and then from there, talk to the person, find out their goals and then match them to the right product. And again, I want to start off by saying, I understand you're not a doctor or anything like that in that example. But you know, at the end of the day, you do have products to offer, and you can just kind of pointing in the right direction and say, Look, if you're looking Teoh, you know, lose weight like you've been telling me, then this product maybe is going to be good for you or whatever product you know, if you're dealing with any of these, So it's just very important, I believe, to just build a brand. And I also wrote an article about that all linked below with that. But you know, an article about building your own brands and not getting caught up in you know who it is that your supplier is? You know, it's just your supplier, you know, that's just where you get your product from. It doesn't mean you have to become herbal life or you have to become Beachbody or it works . You know your brand yourself as a health person and fitness person in that example and take it from there. So hopefully that makes sense. If not, put in the comments below, and I can help out with that. But that's all I'm going to say about that. But as you can tell, I'm very passionate about having your own brand and business and just using them as a supplier not, you know, branding yourself as as all of that. You know, like you know, some people do their cover photo with whoever the network marketing for and their profile photo and their description and all that. I would not take that approach instead I would be branding as myself. And then those happen to be the products that I offer. Um, so yes, hopeful that makes sense and, you know, just to take a look, an example. So there is, you know, Beachbody and again, if you do it that way, I personally have no problem with network marketing. I think it's a good opportunity, but it's not for everybody. And that's where I get hung up on also where I see a lot of people out there posting, you know, Hey, join my team and you know, I'm doing X amount of dollars and you can to that That's not true. I spent almost 11 years the insurance business, and I've seen a lot of people come and go That can do well in selling insurance and some who did not. It's not for everybody, and network marketing is no different. You're selling a product at the end of the day, so if you are good at selling, if you can get passionate around this product, if you know, since we're looking at Beachbody, if you are a fitness buff, then for you it probably will be easy. But if your telling your friend, who you know, just does not eat healthy and has, you know, pizza and milk shakes every day. Um, then for them, if they're gonna have a hard time probably selling these products because they're just not gonna be as passionate about it. So maybe for them, it might be a different type of product altogether. You know, maybe not even herbal life, maybe something like candles and partying and being social. And maybe that will work for them. Thrown parties with party light. So I do know someone personally who does very well with party light. She's very social. She does a lot of parties and get togethers, has a big team and all that. So for her, it works, you know, it's just it's something that's, you know, that she can get behind that She has fun doing, and that shows in her passion, and that's why she's able to sell a lot of these products and do very well. So So again, I really believe that with network marketing, there's nothing wrong with the brand branded as yourself look at a lot of different options out there. In fact, I even came across an article I'll share that below. Also, because again, there's just some products. But I came up with a very huge list of, like the top 100 network marketing companies of 2019 which is when I'm recording this. But you can do that for any year on day. Take a look and see what the top companies are in terms of grossing. You know, that's all I care about. How much money are they making each year? What's their revenue each year? Because if they're not doing a lot, that tells me there's not a lot of successful people there. They don't have a lot of resource is or they don't have a big field, so I may be one of balance. Maybe I don't want the biggest representation out there because it might be a little saturated by also don't want someone who barely makes any money each year tells me, you know it may not be very established, so kind of summer in between might be the right answers. I'll share that below as well. But if you have any questions, let me know. But these are all good options. There are good companies. If you notice Primerica is on this list is well, which is a financial or insurance company. Rather, I mean, they do have financial as well. But Primerica could be an option to, especially for side hustlers, because they do allow for working on the side. They can help you get licensed, and you can sell insurance on the side, which is a very good hustle. Also, because you can do that in your spare time. And they're technically a network marketing company because you can. You have to be a manager. You can get people under you and all that other stuff, so look into them as well. If that kind is something that you'd want Teoh get into his, you know, financial or insurance products. So any questions post them below. Hopefully, this helps you understand a little bit more about network marketing. But again, brand yourself. Don't worry about the name of the company. It's your own company. It's your own business. They're just the supplier of the products that you're offering. All right, see in the next picture
6. Reselling (eBay etc): all right. Next. I want to talk about selling and reselling. Now, I don't know why this often gets overlooked as a viable side business, you know, because for as long as I don't know, I mean a very long time, probably hundreds of years. This has been a very basic concepts. Basically, you buy something at a whatever price and you sell it at a higher price than that. Any time you go to any store out there, that's basically what's happening, right? So if you go to a department store, you go to a food store. Liquor store doesn't matter wherever you go, they purchase that at hold sale. In other words, they bought quantity of something or just got good deals on something, and they're selling it to you for a higher amount. So why can't we do the same thing? And the answer is, you can, um, you can be a, uh you know, I guess it's called being a thriftier. You could be a thriftier where you can purchase things at a low price. You can look around at Craigslist and offer up and local paper, the Facebook marketplace and all kinds of different local places. Um, that would be retail arbitrage, or you couldn't even do it by going online and looking for deals online. And you don't even have to go anywhere, Have things shipped to your house. So basically, you look at the Internet and find all kinds of great deals of something that's on clearance and liquidation. Very good sales or hold sale things that you can purchase a lot of at a very good discount . And then when you do is you can come toe websites like, of course, eBay. And you can sell. Now again, this sounds very simple, but number one it can be difficult because you have to find the margins. You have to find things that you can sell. But number two. Even though it sounds simple, it's a legitimate actual business. There's nothing wrong with being a reseller. You kit. You could get on eBay, and I'm a big fan of having their eBay shops. You can get an eBay shop for a little as I think it's seven or $8 a month, and you can have your own identity come up with a logo, have a nice little art for it, and it's an actual eBay shop that you can kind of control kind like Etsy shop. We can have kind of your own identity to it, and you could have, you know, if you do it on eBay shop. It's nice toe. Specialize. So, basically, if you wanted to specialize in selling laptops, you can scour the Internet and retail places and look for very good deals on laptops and then resell them on your eBay shop or, you know, phones. There was a lot people that buy and resell cell phones. Or maybe you can specialize in clothing of some sorts. You know, whatever it is but definitely specialize. Get any based or going, and that's a legitimate actual business. There's nothing wrong with that, Um, other places you can cross post and sell on as well. In addition, eBay is McCurry is a great website. It's basically like eBay, just a little bit simpler to use. It's not as complex, in my opinion, and it's just a whole other audience that you can use. That might be people there on this platform that are not on eBay. So it's it would be a good idea if you were reselling things to be able to post on both websites. Next on the list. Here we have Posh mark. They've had a really, really big marketing budget in the last year because I see a commercial for them. Like every 10 minutes, My posh Marc is basically specializing in fashion, So it's kind of the e Bay former Qari, but of clothing. So if you wanted to specialize and or, you know, designer clothing well, on things like that, and this might be an option for you to I think they call it having your closet instead of a store. So basically you would list a lot of items, clothing and things like that and sell here on Posh Mark. So again, you can look on places like Craigslist for, you know, things that are for sale, maybe even things that people are giving away things like that and you can utilize to reselling these platforms. Um, you can utilize offer up, which they have a great app and also offer up now offers shipping. So now, kind of like eBay. You can even put products on their not for local, but for shipping as well. So that might be something that you want to dio So this is again a very great, viable business. And if you're unsure of where to start, if you're kind of in the beginning stages of, you know Hey, I'm one a side hustle. I'm just not sure what I want to do. Um, I'm a huge fan of just doing this. Just start hustling, buying some items, whatever you confined, and you'll get better at it and know what to look for. Also by you doing your research on eBay. So whenever I do that, I haven't eBay app, and I can even scan something while I'm at the store, and it's held me what it is selling for. So on the eBay app, you just click on, list an item or selling item and then click the barcode. And then when you scan that barcode, it will even tell you what it's going for on eBay. So example. You scan something and it says it's going for $60 you're at the store and you see that their name is like, for $2025.30 dollars. Then that's two times your margin, you know, absolutely. Take that. Buy that product by several of them list them on eBay, Um, for two times that margin, since that's what it's going for anyway. So with a little bit of quick research like that and having that app, you know you're good to go. You can also do re selling on Amazon. But like we talked about earlier with Amazon, there is a $39 a month fee. But again, it's your you're selling on the best platform on the planet, you know, arguably in terms of traffic goes and everything like that. So for $39 a month, you also conduce the same strategy with Amazon. You confined things low, price their wholesale things like that and resell it on Amazon for a higher price. And they also have to sell a rap where you can do the same thing. You can scan barcode, see how much it's going for and make your decision that way, whether or not you want to sell. The other thing you can do is you can go to thrift shops. You can find things that air for cheap there, you know, I personally know people ministries specializing like old CDs on DVDs and videos. They just know those very well. And, you know, they Kenbrell by those at thrift shops. Very inexpensive sometimes or 25 50 cents a dollar each, but specific CDs that air like collector's items or certain types of albums and artists and genres. They go first, highest 2030 50 60 some even over $100. So if you paid a dollar for one at the thrift shop and you can sell it over 100 that's pretty darn good return. So there's a lot of things you can do in the, um, reselling world. Eso again. If you're unsure where to start, I highly recommend starting with this. Just start hustling, finding things at good prices that you can flip and sell higher on all these different platforms you know, or specialize in one of these platforms or, you know, whatever, depending on what you're selling. So any questions post them below. But that's what I wanted to cover in terms of reselling on these platforms.
7. Affiliate Products: next. We're talking about affiliate marketing. So with affiliate marketing, this is a very common way. I don't is a common, but when people begin to look at online business of of sorts, this is kind of the first thing most people stumble upon is like blogging, affiliate marketing and kind of how to get started in that kind of universe. So, um, this is a, um Well, I'm gonna go through a couple of examples and explain a little bit, but basically, affiliate marketing is, you know, partnering up with some sort of product or service, and they give you a unique link that is tracked via cookies on a computer. So attracts your I P address and everything toe, you know, for them to know where it came from. So basically, if you click on a link that is recommended by someone and it's their unique link for that product or service, they then get credit for that sale, whatever that might mean. That might be anywhere from literally credit towards their account at that company. Or it might be actual dollars. Um, you know, for for making that sale. So let's go through some examples, but basically with affiliate marketing. Most of the times comes adding some sort of value. Now in this block, this is a very popular one. Thistles Jeff Rose, who is a former financial planner I might still be practicing but is a former financial planner, came out with a block and really started toe. Make a living this way, instead sharing his knowledge online. So this is a good example off having knowledge of something. So maybe in a past life, if you did something, you can probably monetize that on a blogging affiliate marketing. So it's a very good blah gets set up nicely. And, you know, if you go to the blogged area, you'll be able to see as tons of articles you know, top insurance companies, and it's kind of mixed up. Some of them really have no affiliate links, and they're just kind of adding value and everything like that. You know, they're just very highly, you know, Can you have a 41 K and IRA? That's a very good keyword that a lot of people going to search and find. So then, when they find that article, he's hoping that along the top here they you know, click on these other things and get to know him better and stumble upon some of these other articles that does have, um, you know, affiliate links. So that's basically what you know, what he's looking to do their. So with a lot of these ST Louis bank review, I find hard to believe that would be, um, yeah, I mean, there's there's definitely some affiliate links in here. So basically, um, you know, if you click some of these things, um, online banking so brings up the best online Checking accounts is kind of Lincoln toe other articles within his articles, which is always a good thing to do. So best overall has this bank. So if I click over to apply now nice and convenient here, um, that's an affiliate link, most likely meaning he gets some sort of credit or commission for it and all that, which again, if I find an article like this that puts all the information in the one place that I'm looking for personally, I'm fine with that. He's adding a lot of value. Um, so that's something that you want to look into as well as how much value can you be adding for articles like this? Because for someone who is looking for a new, you know, online checking account, um, this is pretty nice toe have these kind of very detailed reviews and comparisons all in one place. Okay, so this is kind of a you know, really, you know, built out block and everything were a lot of articles, and definitely bunch of links and everything, and that's how he makes money. Here's another one. Clever hiker. So this one is obviously a little bit different. It's not financial companies or financial products, but instead things around camping and everything, which is also another good niche because a lot of people gonna be searching this, you know, best backpack, 2019 pillows. And these are all good keywords that you could be searching. So when I actually found the article here. So this one, for instance. 10 best hiking shoes and boots. Um, you know, so they have all kinds of information, Some good pictures, like right here. This sure right here. Um, view at Amazon. So when I click that it brings me over to Amazon, they should have done in a new page, Would've been smart, but, um, it brings you over to Amazon. And now this is an affiliate link. If I purchased this product along with other products, they will get a commission for that. So again, rightfully self. They've added value and showed me a bunch of shoes and one article to help make my life easier. And they brought me and help me discover that shoe. Do they deserve a small commission? And it's no extra cost to me. Yeah, I think so. Um, I'm fine with that, and that's something that you would want to do as well. So the thing is, with blogging and affiliate marketing, a does take time to build that value. That coin, that credibility and most importantly, Google Toto find U and Index you and be, you know, recommending you on a normal basis, that's s CEO and which is a whole different ball of wax. But it could be done. And if you have a passion for it anyway and you want to write and share things like this, then it makes all the sense in the world's to be putting time into doing things like this and then just be patient and you'll start to see more and more traffic built now with that being said, you also everyone is different depends on your budget, and your resource is you don't have to write article after article and wait around for traffic. If you take the social media and have very good social media presence and create a following a group and other things, you can make affiliate sales much sooner. And especially if you pay for ads on either Google or Facebook and platforms like that, you can absolutely make sales much sooner. You don't have to wait. You know you'll see a lot off people out there saying all blogging takes time. You might not see any traffic for six months to nine months or a year or more. I mean, that's kind of true in some cases, but it really depends. Number one on your output. Hum. How many articles are you writing your niche? Like where your keywords selection are you picking some Very good, um, you know, in demand articles that are, you know, not overly competitive. And also, you know, again, do you have any ad revenue that you can spend to get some more eyeballs? on your articles. So again I'll put a couple of resource is below. I also put a free blogging challenge that I have that you conjoined to get your Kickstarter than blogging Should you choose to do this? And there is some affiliate marketing covered in there as well, and any questions post them below. But this is kind of affiliate marketing and blogging in a in a nutshell.
