2. My Watercolor Palette: Okay, So in this video, I'm going to show you the custom pilot that I need for my watercolor landscapes. The colors that I have chosen for my palate is not just decided overnight. It's quite a long since I've been doing watercolor landscapes, and now I very well know which colors I use more on toward kind of colors. I perform more in my paintings, the colors that I have chosen here as according to my style. When you prepare your palate, you will see some colors are similar and some will be different. If you are someone who prefer painting Mutar landscapes, your palate will be entirely different. So here what? I'm gonna show us the kind of colors that I perform for my paintings. So you really don't need to follow the colors that I'm using here. The freedom is yours. You should be the creator off your palate. Considering the colors that you like to see more in your paintings and also the colors you see here as from babies brands, I haven't concentrated on any single brand. As such, all of them are artists. Great for the Globe brands. I have chosen colors from art philosophies and a clearer Rembrandt White Nights and I think one or two tubes off from Daniel's Mad aSpro. So it is a mix off various artists grade waterpolo brands. Before filling up the pallet, I had an idea of a child colors I used normally on. I squeezed out a little off paint onto my palette and a certain manner keeping although orange and the browns on the top and all the greens and the blues on the bottom line. Now let's start scratching each of these colors that I have got on my pal Elect. The 1st 1 I have here is lemon yellow. This one is from art philosophy. As I mentioned earlier, you can go with any product, and 2nd 1 I have here a respondent and yellow. You can also use gamble cheer, low interruptus color on the 3rd 1 I have here as yellow joker. This is more off a natural on earth and yellow, which is believed to be made from clay, and it goes very well with born Sener to create all those or turn tones in your painting. And now I have us permanent yellow orange at the gorgeous yellowish orange if you don't have to share, you can always makes a little off gambles yellow to four million and get a similar color. Now I have here as permanent dread. This is one of my favorite color. It's a bright and beautiful red. This one is from art philosophy. You could see it is a very bold red on the other one I used before the permanent yellow orange that was also from art philosophy this I two off my favorite shades, which I used in my landscape paintings. That is very nice to see how AH little of these two close can add a lot of contrast to your paintings on. Now I have here is crimson. It's kind of a common color. You get it in all the normal watercolor sets on the next one. I have here a SROs off ultra Marine. This one is from Daniel Smith. I haven't added any other violet or purple in my palette. I will be mixing and creating my own whenever amany need. Now I have here a spon sina. The remaining two on this line is also going to be tones of brown, the one I'm scratching. Now this Parliament brown, and the last one on the rule has burned number. All right, we scratched all the yellow, orange and brown. Here s a closer look when you haven't organized palette to your painting process will become way too easy, and that is the reason why you should always have an organized watercolor palette according to your color choices. Now that's quickly spice to close on the bottom line. The one I have here is bright yellow green, and that's the first color that I have on the bottom row. It's a very fresh and tender green. I allow this color for meadows and those crane landscapes the next green. I have here a saccharine, which is one of the most common on the most used colorful landscape. These two colors go very well together. The bright grain on Bond Sap Green looks like a campaign. Those money plan leaves with these two colors. Anyway, let's go with the next one. This menace believe green. It is more off a muted green for my greener areas. I always work with a combination of these three shades on the next one I have here is Hooker's Green. This is a little more brighter green. I use this one for those bright green mountains and trees. Mostly now, let's go with the next one. The suspense. Great. It issues when you need to add those darker tones on also when you need to add more details . The scandal gives our final look to your painting and now we're moving to the blues. This one here has intercourse. It is one of my favorite shade. If you have taken my class on monochrome paintings, you will see how much I have used this color. I love this color, especially for the way the stones it kantra use by modulating the amount of water. It is my most favorite shade to paint monochrome paintings. The next blue I have here, a Stella Blue Red. It is a very bright and bold blue. It's a beautiful blue. I mostly used it for sky and water. This one is from the Brant from Grand. If you don't have a tailor blue, you could always use ultra Marine instead off this one in your palate. The next flu I have chosen for my palate is bright blue. This one is from the brand to white nights I will be using the spoon four skies Mostly You will get to see that when we try our techniques. And also when we paint our main projects after bright blue the next share I allow for sky and cerulean blue. So if you have certainly in blue you can always use that one instead of pride blue for your skies. So the colors that I have chosen here for my palate is according to my personal preference you can change it accordingly. Maybe you may prefer Prussian blue or cobalt blue answered off the blues that I have chosen here. So the ultimate choice is yours now The next blue I have here is turquoise blue from the brand Rembrandt on. After that we have one more blue left, the turquoise blue I mostly used for water on Sometimes I use it for that tropical blue sky . When you're painting, see and those tropical beaches. This one is the perfect color. But you can use for water and also for the sky. And the last one I have here is Cabal Green. This one is from the brand Mirdjalal Michelle. It is one of my most favorite color. I use it quite a lot again. This one Also I use for mostly water and sky whenever I feel like painting those based on sky and those tropical beaches. This is the color of which I often use. It's a beautiful basil blue. If you have watched my classes on not on light you would know how much I love this color for night sky aspirin. I love the contrast between a bright blue and the space Toulepleu. It kind of gives that illuminating effect for your sky. All right, so those are the 20 shades I have chosen for my palate, the colors that I have chosen here according to my personal preference. So you don't really need to stick to the same colors that I have chosen here. I have acted the names off all the shades. So it is quite easy for you to identify the color if you have Mr name. So if you closely look at the collection that I have here, you will understand. I have chosen three or four variation off the shades like a how four green for different blue Andi for the friend yellow on three different red and three different round. This will make my water glow painting process much easier, as I have readily available options in my palette. On also, when you have a custom made watercolor palette, you will start to identify your style on. Also, all off, your painting will have the same identity. If you haven't tried watercolor painting much, it will be a little difficult for you toe Decide on which all close to our in your palate. But once you have done quite a lot of paintings, it comes to you very easily. You will kind of have an understanding in your mind which will close you prefer, and also it is absolutely okay if you don't have this many variations of scullers because the bright yellow grain can be made from sap green on lemon yellow, you just need to add a paint off submarine to lemony alot to get the bright yellow green. So even if you don't have these many relations and your color palette, that is also okay. It took me quite a lot of time to arrive at a palette roughly maybe in your because I used to just squeeze out paint onto my palate on Just use it acid er's and create a home message palette. I never had an organized palette like this before when I closely watched my paintings on my water glass tubes. I kind of understood which all colors I prefer in my palette because you can really see some wealthy watercolor tubes are getting over faster than others. If I look at my watercolor tubes, I have Bradley used literally in green on cobalt blue. So those are the two shades, which I don't use much in my landscape paintings. So that is why I haven't included that in my palette. Maybe you are somebody who prefer weird in green and cobalt blue over the colors that I have chosen here. So those choices totally up to you, you should be the creator off your palate, and that should be totally according to your personal preference on to your style. When I started watercolor painting, I never had the habit off keeping an organized palette. I simply used to squeeze the paint onto the pallet on starting sing from there, and then every time I have to put a new color onto my palate, I used to simply sold for some caps Andi. Later, I understood that is a very messy process I might have used to get confused, which is which color so slowly I understood. This is a very messy process. I should have a proper organized palette with the colors are used mostly, and that is how I decided toe create a custom palette for myself on I've been using the same clothes for over a year now. Some of the colors I have changed over time. I didn't have Taylor blue. I was using Prussian blue interact that on. But I got Taylor blue. I thought it so good Blue and I could replace pressure low with this one because it is more bright and bold and fresh in blue, and I kind of liked this metal were Prussian blue. So over the time your palate will also change your color preference will change. There are so many more colors Machar mia to try. So maybe when I try some new clothes in the future the chances I might change some of these with the new shades. Or maybe I will stick to my older palette. Those alterations are very normal. Sometimes it could be just the brand because I tried indigo from white, Knight said earlier on Ventura Newton. And finally I decided to go. But the integral from sin earlier, which is small, bright Aunt Pigmented compared to the other two prints. So want to start using radios, brands and various colors. You will have a proper understanding the child colors you need in your palate. Here is a closer look off all the colors that I have chosen for my palate, all the yellows, the red and brown Andi. At the bottom line, you have the green and the blues. So yeah, those are the colors that I have in my palette. I thought it was important to talk about the colors that I have on my palate before I proceed to the further exercises. This is not a task which you need to do immediately. You can just follow the paintings that I'm doing and to go with any blue or queen which you have at the moment on. Once you have done quite a lot of paintings, you will automatically have an idea of a child colors. You prefer more in your paintings, so this will happen over time. You don't need to rush and decide on the colors. Right now, in the next radio, I will be taking you through the remaining all the material swivelling to follow my class.
3. Materials you'll need: before we begin, let's quickly have a look at the materials you will need to follow my class. Let's start with the paper and almost all my classes. I recommend going with an artist. Create paper, but it's off 1 43 minimum on which is 100 person courtroom aspirin. To get the best result. It is very important to go with an artist. Create paper most of the time you feel at your paintings just because you didn't go for the right kind of paper. So please go with any artist grade quality watercolor people, which is off minimum 1 40 MP on which is 100% cotton. You get three varieties of political people in the market called pressed rough on hot press . I will be using a cold press particle of paper, which is perfect for the kind off washes that we are using in this class. A cold pressed people has called the right kind of texture, which is perfect for watercolor landscapes. On this is the kind of size I will be using for our main paintings. This is a six eyes. I just cut my A four people part into four equal pieces. You can go with any kind of size you prefer. We'll be working on couple off very simple, minimal watercolor landscapes, which doesn't have much details. So to get a beautiful result, it is better to go with a smaller size of people. But then the final size is yours. So, yeah, that's all about the watercolor paper. So please, co but and artist great watercolour paper. I often get messages from my students saying my result is not looking like yours. My paper is absorbing the pain faster, and it is not staying. But the answer to all these questions are quite simple. Go with an artist, great particle paper. Want to start using an artist? Greed, particular people, or you will surely see a difference. So just give it a try. I know it is quite expensive. If you are looking forward to grow as an artist, it is very important to upgrade to a good quality paper. All right, now, let's talk about the brushes daddy made. You will need a wash fresh to a client, even called the water onto your paper. I will be using this three by four inch wash fresh by Princeton, a turn Princeton velvet cities. As the paintings are quite small, this fresh will be enough to apply and even cut off water onto the paper. Now the next burst, you will need us a medium sized brown crush, the society's number six round brush again from Princeton. This is from the head of state CDs. The great thing about this brush is that it comes back to a very nice point, which makes it easy for detaining aspirin, so I don't need to use a small openings for my detailing. On These are the only two bridges that I will be using throughout the class, as the size of the paper were walking on today is quite small. These two brushes are enough. You don't need to have any larger sized rum fresh or are medium sized flat brush or anything. These two are quite enough on. Don't be stressed if you don't have a flat brush. It is absolutely okay to use your bigger size round brush to apply. Anyone caught a water onto the paper. All right, so that's all about the brushes. Andi, I always spoke about the colors in detail in the previous section we discussed about each and every color on my palette, I will be using three or four shades maximum for each painting on. I will be explaining that while be paint, I won't be using the entire range of Carlos and today's class. Maybe it was just an exercise to show you how I organized my watercolor palette. So as the progress you will get to know the color that I'm using for each technique or each painting now to mix in the Kahlo's, you will need a mixing palette. As my colors are already on the palate, I will be using the same palette to mix my colors. You can go with any kind of pilot that you normally use. As I mentioned earlier. You don't need to Russia and organize your palate for this class. It was just an exercise to give you an understanding about the colors that I normally use. So we spoke about the watercolor paper precious on the colors. Along with that, you will need a pencil on eraser. Some people tell well on a masking tape last, but not the least you will need to, which are so water one has to stay clean on the other one a super himself. The pain from your brush. So that's all about the materials that you will need to follow my class now quickly go grab all the materials and join me in the next video. Let's get started.
4. Practice - Sky for Beginners - Part 1: sky is an important part of watercolor landscapes. And if you know to paint different kind of skies, it is really going to help you master your watercolor landscapes. In this video, I'm going to teach you how to paint six different water glass guys, which can be done quite easily. This exercise is really going to help you in your future paintings. I have already divided my paper into six divisions on I have a jar of clean water which I will be keeping aside The shame that I'm using for the sky is bright blue. You can also you certainly influenced of bright blue. And if you don't have bribed, you are either cerulean blue. You can use Prussian blue. This is the shade that I'm gonna use for the sky. It has a bribe. Blue by White Knight. It's one of my favorite color for painting sky. So you already know I will be using only two brushes throughout the class. So using my three by four inch wash fresh, I'm gonna apply and even called the water onto the first section. And now I'm switching to my size and we're six round brush. I'm loading my brush, but in 1/4 bright blue and I'm just dropping in the paint onto the wet background. You can see the way I'm taking my brush and leaving some wide caps and between which will be my clouds, which is random. Leave Lee White gaps in between lectures. It doesn't really need to have any specific shape or pattern wherever you want. Clouds just link those paper white on Philip, the remaining area and blue. So I made the background, but and I took bright blue on Die randomly filled in some a diaz, leaving little wide gaps in between. That's the only thing I did here. If you want to make the blue brighter at some 80 s, you could do that. All these needs to be done before your background tries. All right, now, let's wait for that to dry. Meanwhile, let's try another one. Make sure Your Grace has reached every bear and you have a nice even coat of water. As I mentioned the art supply section, it was okay. If you don't have a flat push, you can use her bigger size strong bridge to apply and even called the water. That is absolutely OK, All right. So the paper is dead. Now. I'm gonna go with the same exercise which pitted Oliver. I'm loading my brush with bright blue on. I'm gonna simply a drop in the paint onto the wet background, just like how we did in the first section, leaving some white gaps in between. So the way you're applying your blue paint will determine the shape off the clout. If you want bigger clouds, you need to leave a bigger white cap in between. And if you want smaller clouds, apply your blue color closer to each other, reducing the gap. So, at the same exercise, which I did earlier this time I made the clouds little more bigger. You can see the shape of the cloud, which I have here. My background is still wet. Now I'm going to switch to pains. Agree on. Do you think pains? Great. I'm going to add some shadow for the clouds. I'm using a very light tone off pain screen. And remember, my background is still bet it hasn't tried. Now, wherever you have your clout, just drop in a light tone off pains great onto the bottom part. Ask your background is still wet. It will nicely blend in with the remaining off your sky. All you need to do was just drop in a light tone off pain scree onto the Borden part off your clouds There is no any specific rule to apply the scullery. You just need to drop in that color onto the bottom line off your clouds on As a background is read it will nicely margin with the remaining off your sky on my sky as beautifully dried You can see the fluffy clouds I have here Now I'm gonna go with the 3rd 1 applying and even the water for this one Aspen I'm going with bright blue and pain scream But this time I'm gonna give much more emphasis to the clouds For the first tool they started with bright blue first And for the 3rd 1 I'm starting with pains. Great. I'm loading my brush with a light or off pain. Scree on. I'm gonna create the cloud first. So here I am, creating the clouds and the shadow together I'm dropping in pain scree, which is the shadow off my clouds on Dwight caps in between are the clouds If you want we go clouds. You need to make those white patterns bicker. All the six different skies will be doing in decision will be better on red sky. The size of the sections were working here is quite small, So it is little easy to manage when the size of your paper increases, you have to be a little more quick and consistent. So I have dropped in enough off pains. Great. Now I'm switching to bright blue. Now, using bright blue, I'm gonna give a proper shape to the clouds. We just have added the shadows. The shape of the clouds are not yet defined. And that's what we're doing now. I'm just taking my brush around doors wide caps which we have added on. I'm simply taking my brush around those shades on adding some blue color in between. I'm not adding too much of blue. I wonder why Clouds to be more emphasized. You can see the two big, fluffy white clouds because it here the shape and size of the clouds will totally depend on the way how you apply your blue around it. So if you want bigger clouds, leave a lot of people white and reduce the amount of blue that you're applying on the 1st 1 We simply left in some white gaps on on the 2nd 1 be introduced pain, scree and the added shadow off the clouds. On on the 3rd 1 we made the clouds more emphasized by making the cloud speaker on introducing more shadows. Now let's go over the foot one. I'm starting by applying and even called the water The 1st 3 we went in but blue Andi White competition We created white fluffy clouds This time I'm going with the blue and yellow sky The shade that I'm using now a stay Luke blue You can also use ultra marine blue interruptus color or you can just continue What the blue you were using before on the second share that I'm gonna use along with blue as yellow I will be using my permanent yellow. You can use any warm yellow that doesn't create a green. When you mix that with blue, you can also use Naples yellow. But it's so very safe color that doesn't create green when mixed with blue Also Indian yellow. So don't forget to check your yellow and blue before you proceed with your sky. If you don't have any off this yellow, you can just use crimson or any kind of pink inside off yellow. We're just looking at the technique. The color doesn't matter. So I have applied a little of yellow at the border, leaving some white in between. This is a very simple sky. I'm not adding any clouds. Now I'm going to switch to Otello blue and I'm gonna apply that onto the top area. Ah, very light on off blue. And maybe I've allowed some in between those yellow lines School. This is a very simple sky you can combine, but mountains are any other interesting foreground elements. Now I'm gonna make the blue a little more Indians on the top Just over here on maybe a little over here asphalt. Andi, that's it. Our blue and yellow sky is really It's a very simple yet beautiful sky can experiment the same thing with different colors blue and pink, blue and purple are crimson and arrange There are many more options you can experiment But now we're going with the 4th 1 I'm applying a bad cold water on to the fourth section for this one. Also, I'm going with Taylor blue and permanently alot. But along with that, I will also be using a little off Cruz off ultra Marine. I'll be creating a purple shade mixing cello blew onto Roestoff ultra Marine and I will be adding the clouds. Using this color, you can go with any kind of purple that you have got a new palette or you can mix and create one using crimson on blue. I'm starting with the yellow again. This is primary yellow now, just like how we did it with the Paynes Grey. I'm gonna create those clouds using yellow. I'm gonna simply dropping the a local or onto the bed background at the same technique which we used earlier. It has just that the colors we're using now is different. I'm leaving that people white in between, which is my clouds. This is just to make you understand how you can create the same kind of clouds using different clothes on. Make your sky look more dramatic. You could do the same thing with any color off your choice. Now I'm taking a little off Grosso's Alger Marine on mixing that with a little else Pedo blue to create a nice purple Now in a similar way How I took pains Great to create the shadow off clouds. I'm using this poeple on doing the same thing. I had already left some paperwhite in between. On over to the bottom part I'm adding this purple color. Ah, very light one off Popo And now I'm gonna switch to my blue. Andi, I'm going to apply that onto the top A dio. Now I'm adding some blue tint in between the clouds as full. If you're going with the same yellow and blue competition, it is very important to check your colors before you proceed because some of the blue and yellow can create a green been mixed together. So be careful about that. Now I'm again going with purple and I'm making the shadows more talker. I went in with lighter tones. If you want to try the same thing with Bordeaux tones that is totally up to you. You could go with a more brighter yellow, purple and blue and create a more dramatic portion off the same sky. Now let's go with the last one. I'm applying and even called the water now on this last section I'm gonna try a worthy simple evening sky. I'll again going with some lighter tones, starting with Pullman and yellow. As I mentioned earlier, you can use Gamble JLo instead off this month. Now drop in some yellow color onto the bottom. You can leave some white lines in between just a few random yellow lines. Now I'm switching toe orange. This time I'm going with a more reddish orange. I'm taking a little off permanent trade on mixing a pinch off yellow into that to get a more reddish orange. Now I'm gonna drop in that color onto the red sky to starting few lines and between the yellow a little onto the top hospital on You could see I have left some area on the top over there. I will be adding blue if you want to make the orange more Indians, you could do that. Now I'm switching to blue amusing Taylor blue again And I'm gonna add that onto the top media which I had left and that we're done with the last sky. You could see how easily we created a multicolored evening sky. You can experiment the same thing with different colors, So we tried six different skies for the first foreign. We just went in with bright blue. We applied that onto the wet background and created clouds, leaving the paper white on. For the 2nd 1 We introduced little pains create to create the shadow the clouds on for the third born. We went in with the same technique, but we emphasised more on the clouds. We made the clouds more defined on for the 4th 1 rebounding with a low blue and yellow, and created a very nice daylight sky. On the next one, we tried to create clouds using the same combination off blue and yellow on be introduced, a little off popular in between to make sky more dramatic. On on the last one, we went in with a multicolored sense. It's guy. We played with light tones of blue orange in yellow and created a very simple evening sky. All right, so that's over. Six different is these guys. Now, in the next section, I'm gonna take you through a little more advanced portion of skies So give this a try and join me in the next section.
5. Practice - Sky for Beginners - Part 2: in the previous section, we tried six different skies. They were quite a C. I think it's time to try a little more advanced sky. I have divided my paper into two divisions, and this time I'm going with a pick or size. I'll be going with a bigger and better washing off. The 3rd 1 be tried were recreated lease to fluffy clouds. On on the 2nd 1 I will be going with a little more advanced sunset sky again. These two are absolutely big differently. I'm quite sure. By the end of the section, you all will be quite confident to paint beautiful skies. So I had to begin, just like how we did the only ones I'm starting by applying and even called the water into the first section. Just a nice cold off water Onda. We are good to go. I'm trying a bigger and better illusion off the third sky. We tried on dime started with Payne's gray, just like we did earlier, and I'm creating the cloud first. Then I will go in with the blue on, make the shape of the clouds more defined. I have loaded my size number six round brush with enough off pain scream Andi, I'm going to simply drop in the shade onto my bet Background on creating those shadow off the clouds Don't be scared Just dropping the color, leaving some wide gaps in between which will be your clouds You need to have a rough idea how much clouds you need And how think you want your clouds to be so according to your choice Leave the paper white I'm thinking off great in three big, fluffy white clouds One at the bottom, right end on maybe one on the top, right corner on another one in the middle So that is what I have in my mind on That's why I'm leaving paperwhite over those areas. No, I'm switching to bright blue on. I'm gonna apply that onto the top left corner on. I'm going to define the shape of the clouds. I'm just taking the brush around. Those shapes were created using pains. Cree the background is right, so the colors will kind of combine with each other living a very natural plant. I'm going to repeat the same thing onto the bottom area, taking the blue color around where we have applied pain scream now over to the right, and Espo, you could see I have created three fluffy white clouds. Now the clouds look very well defined. We all know what watercolor when you're applying the color, it looks very bright, but when it dries, it tends to fade a little on it goes toe are much lighter, too. So now it's timeto adding more taco tunes if you need. If you want a lighter looking sky that is up to you, you can leave a Tacitus. I'm gonna add some brighter tones off blue on pain scream so that once my sky dries, it will still look bright. And my print you shouldn't be doing the step off. Your background is starting to dry. You should only be doing it if your background is still. Bet you won't get a small blend of the Bagram to starting to dry, so it's better to leave it. Lassiter's If your background the starting to dry on with that, we're done with our sky. It has completely dried. You can see those three big, fluffy clouds which we created. Now I'm gonna show you how you can change this one into a simple watercolor painting anger Load my brush with enough or bright yellow green Andi, I'm gonna create a little off landscape at the bottom as the progress with the class, you will have a better understanding on how to create BC Watercolor landscapes with very simple elements. So here, respond trick wants to have your sky. You just need to add a patch off green landscape at the bottom. I used bright yellow green. Now I'm switching to sap green and I'm gonna add some darko tunes to give it more texture. I have added a green patch at the bottom. Now I'm gonna add to trees. Ah, very rough shape. I'm not gonna detail it. One here on one right next to it. A taller and a short of one. Now I'm going to switch to Indigo and using indigo, I'm adding some darko tones. Just one to the left side on. That's it. Our tree sad down. It's a very basic tree. Now, using integral, I'm adding shadow for these two trees. On with that, we're done with her first symbol sky. Quite iffy, right? I want you all to try it out with your favorite blue. Now let's try another one, which is going to be a simple sunset sky. I'm starting with applying and even called the water on to the second section. Make sure your brush has reached every bear and you have a nice clean even called the water on the entire paper. This is very important to get a clean and even blend of colors on. That is the reason why I always stockman going with a bigger size brush to apply the court of water. But the bigger size brush you can quickly apply and even go the water on a larger idea. If you are going with the smaller size, brush the cold, the water may not be even, all right, so let's start painting the sky. I'm going with former and yellow. You can also use Gamble JIA Lou. If you don't have permanent yellow on, I'm simply dropping in the color onto the bed background, leaving little off wide gaps in between. Not a lot of white caps just fuel random lines when you add in the other tones on Once your sky tries, this little white caps in between make your sky looks like it shining. So that is the reason why you should be leaving this tiny white caps in between. Now I'm switching toe orange, this oneness permanent yellow orange. You can go with any kind of orange that you have got. If you want to make it more intense, you can also use scarlet are formally in orange. I added the orange of the top. Now I'm adding that onto the yellow background, you can see how the color is blending into the background. Now I'm switching to Pullman and brown this oneness more off reddish brown. If you don't have a similar color, you can makes Bonsignore with your one million dread or scarlet to get a similar kind of color. We need a reddish brown. Now I'm gonna drop in this color onto the vet background, starting from the top, just dropping the color onto the vet background. Um, adding the darko tones mostly at the top, where I have a lot of orange towards the bottom. The orange told us less, and there is a lot of yellow, so I'm gonna add in a little off orange onto the bottom area. Aspar. You can see how the colors are nicely blending into each other now, if you want, you can clean your brush on just help. In the blending process, you see a clean brush Andranik around those areas where it means little helping blending. I'm quite happy with the sky so far. Maybe I will drop in some more brighter turns off orange and brown. I will add some orange tones here on some more towards the bottom. I don't want to cover up the entire lighter tunes at the bottom. I think I will leave it there now. I'm switching to brown on making the top ideology more intense. You can see how bright and warm over sky is looking. I'm really happy with the result. We only used three Kyllo's yellow, orange and permanent brown. If you want more Indians and bright sunset, you can add more off Scarlett and four million on this is the result of a sky has beautifully dried on our sky is literally glowing. Now I'm gonna add a simple element at the bottom and just like how we change the 1st 1 in tow are many painting. I'm gonna turn this one also into a complete painting. I'm starting with Bowman into yellow orange just Like all we added the green patch on the top. I'm gonna add on orange patch at the bottom. And now I'm switching to Poland and brown and adding some taco tones. I'm really loving the way the spoon is true. Pressing so and lower with the sky. I want to make the border media more darker. So I'm switching to paint scree and you think trains. Great. I'm gonna add more Darko tones. It's a very simple step, but this is going toe. Give your landscape a lot more definition. I blended the colors, leaving a little off orange at the top. Now I'm gonna quickly dry this up. All right? Now, I'm gonna add a simple tree on the right end. Just bustin on fuel branches. You can go with any subject. You prefer to make the task a fear. I went in with a very simple tree. With that, we're done with our sky exercise. Let's have a quick recap off the colors be used for the first fun. Great. The shadow off the clouds. We used pain scree. First we went in the pain screen and created our shape off the clouds. Onda, we left the paper white asset us. Then we went in with bright blue and made the sky more defined. So, as I mentioned earlier, you can go with any kind of blow you prefer. You really don't need to stick to bright blue. You can also use any off your pay. Still blue passport. Keep experimenting with your favorite colors now for the bottom one. For the sentence sky, we used permanent yellow. You can also use Gamble cello, Hinden alone or any other warm you load. I do have. On the second change, we abandon work US. Permanent yellow orange. This is a very light orange. If you makes a very little amount off Scarlett or woman and into your permanent yellow or gamble Djalo, you will get a similar color. If you want a more bright sunset, you can really go with your scarlet or four million on the throat shade. We used this prominent brown using this color. We added the darko tones into the sky. Andi, that's it for the top sky be used only two shades. And for the Borden sky, we used only three shades. Both the skies are quite easy to do, and you will end up having a very beautiful result. You already So how easily we created the sunset sky. Go ahead and experiment with different colors and make it more dramatic once you master how to pain different kind of sky. It is very easy for you to create stunning vertical of paintings. Try out all the six different skies we painted on the earlier section on. Try to change that into many watercolor paintings like this. In the upcoming sections, we will be looking at different foreground and background elements, so give it a try and explore different kind of skies, but your favorite colors he
6. Practice - Foreground elements - Part 1 : all right. In the earlier video, we try different type of skies. Now it's time to try some foreground elements, which you can use in your landscape. We will be trying to fool kind of please, which can be done quite easily. So I'm starting with this bright yellow crane. It is one of my most favorite color to paint a landscape. I'm going to start by adding of shape first. Then I will show you. How can you translate that shape into a tree? The shape is very simple. You need to add a a droplet or a leaf kind of a shape first, So that's the shape. Now I'm switching to SAB cream, and I'm just adding some dots around that shape, so this will be my leaves. It would represent that fall a huge. You simply need to take your brush and a doctor pattern on adding these leaves around that shape, so the shape is more defined now. Now the same thing you can do what are much more doctor color? I'm going with identical mixing little of sap green to that to get a forest green kind of color. Now I'm repeating the same exercise off, adding those daughter patterns around the shape to give it more definition, you can see how gradually the tree iss for me be venting with a lighter tone first. Then we added the daughter pattern using sap green. Now I'm going with the doctor, and I'm doing the same thing you can randomly at the dock O'Toole's. But the more Dakotan should be concentrated on either one side. You can choose either left or right. So if you look at this one on your screen, you could say I have concentrated more on the left side for the Darko tunes on. I have considered like to be hitting on my right side. So that is why I left that area lighter on my left area, a s'more taco compared to the right side. So if you have five or six trees on your landscape, you have to follow the same for all those five or six trees. Now I'm using the same technique, and I'm gonna paint a tree, the one we tried earlier. It's more like a bush, which you can use as a landscape element. It's not really like a tree now. I created the same shape again on that drop, Let o r believe whatever you want to call it. And now I'm creating those daughter pattern around the shape. And after this, I will be repeating the same exercise using sat cream. This is a very simple tree. You can create a cluster off these trees on bond, make your landscape look more interesting. Now I'm switching to SAB Green and I'm going with that Dr Pattern. You can see how easily we transform that leaf shape into a tree. Now I'm going with the next doctor. I'm mixing integral and saccharine, too ghetto to get a darko cream, and I'm going to repeat the same. It's the size of cutting those daughter pattern. You just need to simply take your brush in a daughter pattern and create these foliage. I am leaving the right area. Acid is I'm not adding too much of darker tones there. If you want more textures on the tree, you can keep on adding more darko values. Now I'm going with a much more taco toe on I'm adding the final details onto the tree. So yeah, that's our tree with the same technique. We tried a shop on a tree. Now I'll just draw a line at the bottom so that you get an understanding which part of the land and where the tree is starting. So these two we started all right from the ground the stem has not seen. Now I'm going to repeat the same exercise and create a tree which has system adding the shape first. After I have added the shape, I will go in with sap green on Are those daughter pattern around the shape? Then I will go with the doc 02 and I will repeat the same exercise. Just give it a watch way. - I guess by now the idea is clear now, once this dry seven, I'd understand. Meanwhile, I'm gonna show you the same tree using a different color. I'm going with the yellow and orange competition. The technique is exactly the same. Just like how added the shape First, using light green, I'm repeating the same process using a low. I'm adding that leaf kind of a shape. Once you are comfortable with the process, you don't need to go step by step. You can really and a daughter pattern along the sheep as you progress Now I'm starting to orange. And just like how I had the Darko tunes of sap cream, I'm gonna do the same thing using this orange shade. Want to get total With the technique, you can experiment the same thing with any color off your choice. You can paint the pink tree or a purple tree. Andi. Create more contrast in your painting. Now I'm going with permanent brown on. I'm adding some taco tunes this time. Also, I'm adding the doctor. Don't only on the left side on dime living the right side. Lassiter's. This car industry is perfect for a spring landscape. Now I'm going with a Darko tune on, mixing a little off pain screen into my prom on adding some more taco tones over the left side. And that's it. We're done with our orange tree. Let me quickly add the stream for about 33 on, but that we're done with our first type of trees. I would quickly add some color onto the base, so here we went in with a conical shape for the tree, the experiment with different heights and different colors. Now, on the next one, I'm going to make the shape of the tree, a little more advanced. All right, so let's go with the 2nd 1 I'm gonna start with adding a basic shape off the tree. We'll try one and green and one orange. This time we'll go with a bigotry with a little more octo spread. That's the first shape I will add one more on the right side, maybe a little more taller. One. And I will paint Warren and Green and other one and then yellow and orange competition so that you can use one for your great landscapes, and you can use the other one for your sprinkler. It's want to have the shape pretty. It is quite simple. The technique that we're going to use the same as before. I'm going with SAB Green first, and I will add this onto the left side, off my first tree onto the outer area. I'm taking my brush and her daughter battle to create those leaves and foliage. Together. I've allowed a little more off Sakhalin than I will switch to my light green Now for the remaining area. I've allowed my life green, and after that, just like how we did all your I will add more darko tones, so the basic technique is all the same. It was just at the shape of a little different. This time I'm done with the first layer. Now it's time to add more taco tunes and mixing indigo and saccharine together to get a Darko Bali off screen. Now I'm again taking my brush in that tortured pattern on adding more darko values on the left side. You just need to drop in that Children dollars and patterns onto your background on that will create a very nice texture to your tree. You can add as many Dakotans as you want. If you want to make the tree look more docker, you can take sap green and add more taco values over the right side. If you want to make your tree look more wild, you can just get rid of that light green, which we used on. Just go in with sap Green on and Dakotans that will give a different look to your tree. All right, now let's experiment the same tree with the spring Look, I'm going with permanent yellow. I am gonna apply that onto the second tree we have out of the shape already. Now simply apply the color onto that shape as you go around the outer. Just just take your brush and a daughter pattern. If the same technique between use for the grain tree, that is just that this time we're going with the spring look on. The colors are different, so we added a low shade onto the entire shape off the tree. Now I'm switching toe orange. Amusing permanent yellow orange. If you don't have one in yellow orange, you can mix a little love formally in our Scarlett to your gambled, she allowed to get a similar color. Now I'm taking my brush and a daughter pattern similar to how it it earlier on, I'm adding Darko tones off orange onto the yellow background. Once I'm done with this, I will call in with prominent Brown. Then after that, I have allowed more Darko tunes using pain scree. If you're doing any spring landscape, you can use this kind of a tree in your landscape. You can create four or five off similar trees, but different heights, and also you can more relate the color. Some of them can be more brownish in color and some of them can be more orangish, and some of them can be more yellowish. When you play for that color variation, it will really make your painting look more interesting. If you're painting a spring landscape, you should be using the same color tunes for your boredom. Part Asper. It shouldn't be green. You can paint the ground in your local but some brown tones, and then you can paint the sky in a very bright blue color. So there are so many ways to use each and every element to be loaned and this class to use in your future paintings, you can experiment the same thing with different colors. You can experiment the same thing with different skies. Now, in the next section, we will be learning more about the background elements so you can mix and combine everything according to board you have in your mind. You can look for inspirational pictures and combined the techniques we learned. All right, so with that, we're done with our second type of tree. I will quickly add, though stem for these two trees, and I will add some color onto the ground aspirin. I hope you guys were able to paint these two type of trees. If you haven't tried it, it just give it a try on that issue. If you try it once, you will nail it in the second time. It isn't that difficult. It is just that you need to get that shape right. The rest is just dropping and paint onto the better background. If you are an absolute beginner, you can always start by adding the sheep using a pencil, then ideo color. That way it will be a little more easy for you. Now let's do a quick recap off the Carlos be used for the 1st 1 we used bright yellow green on. Then we used SAB cream, and we added some taco tunes on. After that rib ended with a much more Doc Oto off green, we mixed into go and saccharine together to get that taco tune. This is the kind of color because when we mixed in tico and sap cream on for the 2nd 1 being used permanent yellow on former me yellow orange. And to add the darko tones we used permanent brown. Along with that, we mix a little off pains. Great to get a more talk of ocean off brown. So those are the four colors be used for the second tree. But the spring look. Before we jump into the background elements, we will experiment some more trees and I will see you in the next section.
7. Practice - Foreground elements - Part 2: so we tried two types of trees earlier. Now I'm gonna go with the 3rd 1 We're just going to be more like a pine tree. This time. I'm going with hookers green, which is a more vibrant green than sap cream. I'm using my size number six round brush. Start with the straight line. After you have out of the line, you just need to add in the foliage to either side. Just take your brush from the center towards the outer side and then keep on adding lines like peace as to come down. You can make them more dancer on, more larger. After you have added the line at the center, you just need to take the pressure in a very screw. Please. Crappy movement on. Create the foliage on either side, as I mentioned earlier as you reached the bottom, make your lines move wider on. Add more foliage, its gentle the bottom. It will look really nice. Now I'm going to mix Indigo and Hooker's green to get a more darko cream and using the darker green I created, I'm gonna roughly are few taco tunes at the bottom of the foliage, just a very few. I'm not going to add a lot. Just did thes lines. I'm adding some taco tones under need. Those foliage. Now I'm going to try the same tree with Let's foliage. I'm starting with a straight line again. I have added the line. Now I'm taking my brush indescribably scrappy plateau on time, adding the foliage. This time I'm not adding them close to each other. I'm leaving some gaps in between so you can go with the radiation of these kind of trees. When you're painting your landscape, some of them can be told her. Some of them can be shorter. Some of them can be very 10 Santic, and some of them can have very little for aged like this one. Now let's drop in a few taco tones. I'm adding fuel taco tones here and there and that Sirte. So they have 1 10 cent victory on we have one tree, but very less for the age. Now I'm gonna add few trees in the background using a light or turn off screen. This will give you an idea how you can compose your pine trees in your landscape. All right, there you have your trees now I'm going at sac. Rain on. I'm gonna paint the ground. Once I do this, you will get an understanding how you can ghost histories in your landscape. For the border part, I used sap cream. Now, as I go up on when I'm about to hit those trees, I will make the green darker. I'm using the same shade be used for the Darko tunes mixing into go and hooker's green to get a darker tone off screen. Now I'm gonna add that over here. You can see the way I'm taking my brush. I'm not adding a flatbush onto the top. I'm making that grassy pattern. No, I'm gonna blend that with the green I have at the border. I guess you all have taken a look at the class splitter. If you haven't, I will just give you a quick abate. More than 60% of the class, as composed of various techniques on it, is very important to go through each off them. If you want to master your landscapes, I will be taking you through latest elements which you can use in your watercolor paintings on the final projects will be doing into this class will be a composition off the elements we learned. So it is quite important to go through each of the sections. Okay, so we went to different ones of green. Now, to add more textures, you can just drop in fuel darko tunes as the base layer is still. But the darko tones we're adding now will nicely, much into the background, creating a very nice grassy texture. And that's it. We're done with the third type of tree. Let's have a quick recap of the Carlos be used. I invented the Tuco's green for the pine tree. Then toe are the darko tones I used. Identical. I'm extreme to go with hookers, screen to get the dark green. Now let's quickly drive on more type. There is no penitence gets required on directly going and with the bright yellow green. By now you might have noticed how much I loved this color, and that is the reason why I have this on my palette and also sap green. You can see how much have usedto scholars. These are too close. I always have on my palette when I'm doing my green landscapes. I'm starting with bright yellow green on adding a patch off this color, and now I will switch to sap green before I go with the next shade. I need to wait for this to dry, and I'm going with the layering technique. Looks like the light green has dried. Now when I'm applying, Zakri, just have a look at my brush movement. I have left the bottom like green untouched, and I'm taking my brush in a grassy pattern, just adding lines from top to bottom without touching the base green. Now, in a similar pattern, I will select the entire line. So all you need to do us take a brush from top to bottom on, add lines close to each other and create a grassy pattern on the top. You can just randomly full the enter your area and which will color your using. And again, we'll wait for this layer to dry. Once this drives will come back with a much more DACA turn off green. Looks like that has tried. Now I'm mixing sap green on Interco to get a dark Odin off green, and I'm going to repeat the same process. I will take my brush from top to bottom on add lines close to each other and create a grassy pattern. This is going to be the final layer, so we believe the top acid is we leave that grassy line on the top asphalt. I'm Jill, randomly taking my brush from top to bottom, adding in 1/4 lines, we have created three different layers of green. You can see how beautiful the combination is. Looking already, you can experiment the same thing with yellow and orange, so you're basically open. Be yellow joker, and then you can go with a permanent yellow orange. Then, for the top part, you can go with branzino or permanent problem on. Create a brownish bush in off the same thing. All right. Would that be finished? The bottom Leo's. Now I'm adding few pine trees using a darker tone off screen. We just need to paint a beautiful sky and add the spun in before crowned. That will make a beautiful painting. Let me quickly add the's pine trees in a similar way. How we did earlier, I added the stems list. Then I'm taking my brush in outward moment from the center onto either side to create the fully age I would like for more trees to make the composition, Beto in the upcoming sections will be exploring different type off mountain so you can combine a snowy mountains in the background on any off the sky you learned in the previous section. And also you can use this one as your foreground element that will make a beautiful painting on this. How you can mix and match the radius elements we are learning in this class. Avalanche bamboo tree at the right end, I'm really loving the variation of greens we used here. I hope you guys are enjoying a decibel. Interrupt the light green. You can also use lemon yellow if you're born a more yellowish layer for the bottom. Now I'm taking sap green, and I'm painting the ground for the lighter tones. I'm using my pride yellow green. Now I'll add in more taco tones using sap green to starting few lines. Maybe feel more. I'm just dropping in the paint into the wet background. Andi let it blend by its horn, adding a crossing pattern at the top on dropping fuel taco tunes on the light green layer asked for, and that's it. So the colors were used where bright yellow green then be used. Sap green for the medium tones. After that, we used indigo. They mixed integral WhatsApp crane to get a dark coat on a screen, and those are the three shades were used, all right, but that we're done with our foreground elements. Exercise. I hope you all enjoyed it, and I hope you all they're able to follow along. So we explored four types of trees, but you can use in your landscapes first. We went in with a very basic truly, then be made the tree into a little more advanced re than depending with pine tree. Then we combined pine tree, but few more layers of cream. You can combine any of the sky and one off these trees together on to create a beautiful painting. Just need these two elements a sky on a tree, just like how we did this one. You can change the tree here on to use any off the tree, which we tried earlier and create a small painting. So give it a try and join me in the next section. Let's explore more elements, which you can loosen your watercolor landscapes
8. Practice - Background elements - Part 1: in the previous sections, we explored how to pain different kind of skies, and we also explored how to paint a different kind of trees. Now let's explore some background elements. I will be taking you through a serious off beautiful mountains, which you can use as your background elements. All right, let's start first. We'll be exploring a very easy snowy mountain. I have a piece off. People ready here. I'm gonna start by adding a pencil sketch. Ah, very simple basic pencil sketch of a mountain. I will add one or two mountains. One over here on may be a bigger one on the right side. All right, so we have to London's there. Now. I'm gonna add an irregular line right at the center, dividing the mountain into two. Just a random line with an irregular. She will be adding darko tunes onto the right side and will be adding lighter tones over the left side. The same goes to the other mountain. I just divided the mountain into tool by adding on irregular line at the model. You can also add some simple lines, just few here and there. This will act as a guide when we are the color. All right, so that's a sketch. Now I'm going with a lighter tone off indigo. You just need a single shade to paint the snowy mountain. Go with a very light on off intercourse or any other color you prefer. You can also use Prussian blue Are pain screams? It doesn't really matter. So we had divided the mountain into two. I'm gonna add the color onto the right side. This despair, you have your shadows. I had a very light on off Interco over the side as to reach the bottom. You don't need to blend the color and Charlie into the background. You can just leave it asset owners. Now the same goes to the other mountain. I'm going to add a lighter tone off into go onto the right side. You can just follow the part that you had drawn on at the night or turn off intercourse onto that area as you reached the bottom. You can leave the lines, Tacitus. You don't need to fill it in a very clear manner. You can leave it us random lines now on to all these little lines, we added. I'm adding a light own off in tickle. Our mountains are looking so snowy already, you could add some more. Lean your lines and a very rough manner. The new adding a pencil sketch. Make sure you're adding, are very light lines. Don't go with the very bold dark pencil lines. As we're working with very light on off into cool, your pencil marks will be visible. You could say how easily re created a snowy mountain. We played that very minimal color. We divided the mountain into two, using an irregular line. Andi onto that patch, we other lighter tone off into go and also the added some rough lines here and there, and that's it. Now let's go down to the one. I'm starting with the pencil sketch, just like how we did earlier. I have a lot to mountains on. Using an irregular line, I will to buy the mountain into two. On one side, we will be adding, although Darko tunes, which is the shadow on the other side, we believe as a lighter tone. We have a lot of smaller one here. All right, so the sketches ready on our first mountain regions went in with a very light on a skin tico, and we added that color onto the patches we created. This time we're going with a little more detailed manner. The first step is the same, just like how we painted the 1st 1 in a similar way. I'm gonna Philip dispatches using a light one off Integral. - So I filled all those parties on the right side. Now I'm going with some random lines. I guess you guys are getting comfortable with the species knowing mountain as we did the same thing for the second time. Now our mountains are looking exactly like the ever one, and this is the first layer. Now we'll be adding more details on top of this to add the details. I'm switching to pain screen. We're going to add some dry brush. Strokes will be adding more on the right side and very few on the left side. Loaded brush with our Darko tone off pain scree on w. Pressure on a paper towel to promoting my show. Now you can easily create driver strokes all you need to the worst. Remove the excess water from your brush. Now add driver strokes on to either side of the mountain We just need some minimal strokes on the left side, on more on the right side, just like how we added the integral. It's quite simple. Load your brush with enough off pain scree that the brush on a people trouble and more the excess water. This way you can create dry strokes quite easily. Now keep on adding driver strokes more on the right side and very less on the left side. Repeat the same process until you are satisfied. So I added these dry brush patterns on the entire mountain. Now I'm gonna add more on the right side for thes three mountains as I'm imagining my shadows to be on the right side, that area and it's really more talker. So I'm randomly adding more Darko tunes only on the right side. The same goes but this tiny mountainous. For just making those patterns more talker. You can see how different the first and the second set of mountains are looking on. The 1st 1 we just went in with a lighter tone off Chantico on be added a very minimal color . On the 2nd 1 we repeated the same exercise, and on top of that, we added more details and textures using pain screen. Now I'm adding more Darko tunes, mostly on the right side. If you look at the mountains closely, you can see the most of the snow was created by the paper white. Other than adding those shadows on little details, we left the paper white asset us on. That is what created this newly effect. You can add asked me Dakotans, as you want, but make sure you're not going, but, ah, bold decline. You can go with small broken lines and little scruples are. You should go with dry brush patterns. Your line shouldn't be looking toe pulled on sharp. All right, there you go. They explode two different types of snowy mountains. We blend in with a very simple one. Then, on the 2nd 1 we combined the first technique, and also they added some details using driver strokes for the 1st 1 We just used a single color, which was Indigo on for the 2nd 1 We used in to go as the last pains. Great toe, Adam, the details. I hope you guys and charge these two techniques. It is very easy to create a snowy mountain. It was just that you should go with a very minimal amount of color. The snow should be your people white on. You should only be adding shadows. You can explore the same technique using just pain, scree or some taco green, which will be the color that you're choosing. Go with a lighter toe on Darko turns off the same color. You could also try the same thing, but Darko Brown Aspar. You can check some inspirational pictures from Google on to try exploring different color company shits. Now let's go one more step forward and explore another snowy mountain, which is going to be a little more advanced than thes two. We tried. I'm starting with a very simple pencil sketch of a mountain like we did earlier, one mountain on the left and another one on the right side. Now adding an irregular line at the middle on dividing the mountain and to to creating a patch on the right side where you will have your taco tools on the sketches. Ready Now let's explore the co technique
9. Practice - Background elements - Part 2: so we had already added the sketch. Now I'm gonna go But Taylor blue, You can use any blew off your childs. It doesn't need to be Tell a blue you can use Prussian blue Ultra Marine are any other blue that you have got Now, just like how we did earlier I'm gonna add the stay low blue onto the right side of the mountains where we have created that patch This time I'm going with the very bright on bull abortion Off blue Aaliyah We went in with a very light tone us integral. I'm simply feeling of dispatch here until a blue now going to the mountain on the left side on doing the same thing. Want to have a basic pencil sketch? It is quite easy to add in the color. Even if you are an explode, you can always begin by adding this basic sketch The process become much CEO if you have this guidelines now, as I come down into love adding a solid color like about I will be more relating the color I will go in but some taco tones and some lighter tones in between. On also as I progress down I will be adding some dry brush pattern testicle. This is to get more textures on the mountain. Now I'm switching to Indigo on using this color, I'm adding some light to tunes at the bottom. I'm not adding a flat wash. I'm going with the dry brush battle. So the technique that we're using for this mountain is mostly the same as we tried earlier . It was just at this time we're going with a little more boulder color than earlier for the other two mountains, we went in with a very light own. This time we are going with a very bold and bright emotional blue. Now I'm switching to a light on off India core on onto the left side. I'm adding some washes like this. We're here. Aspirin. This mountain is not going to be asked, minimal as the ones we tried earlier. This time we're going with more details. I'm making the border bar little septal by adding a court of water and smarting. Bad color looks like there's a lot of dry patches there, and that's the first layer off our mountain. Now I'm switching to pain scree on. I'm adding some darko tones just like how we added the deck shoes on the second mountain. We're going to add more textures for this one. Aspar on the 2nd 1 reinventing with very minimal textures behind this one, will be over doing it. I took enough of paints grade that that on my people total to remove the excess amount of water. Now I'm going to add Darko tunes More on the right side. Andi comparatively lesser on the left side. All you need to do us load your brush within 1/4 pains cree w Oppression of people travel on. Remove the excess amount of water on to keep on adding those driver strokes on the mountain . More on the right side and less on the left side. Go in a very random manner. You can add an ass money as you want. I'm making the site of the mountain more doctor, just randomly scribbling over that blue background and creating as many textures as I can now going on to the left side and doing the same thing. You can also add some broken lines and scribbles in between. Make sure you're not adding in bold on declines and on the done with ever more texture and more detailed snowy mountains. So the second shade be used along with Philip Liu, a Spain scree be used a darker tone off Main Street to add in the details. Maybe I've liked somewhere Darko Tones over here, all right, and that we're done with our mountains. Now I'm gonna quickly show you how you can change these mountains into a simple being, too. By adding very few elements, like a ground and few pine trees. You can change these mountains and toe a startling painting. So I'm gonna go but a light on off Interco and I'm gonna paint the crowned over here. Go with the light on off intercourse now at the ground at the bottom. I'm going to start with the line. Then I will just fill and are very light on us Indigo over here. And that will be my ground. Now all I'm gonna do was having act on pine trees over here over this line, which I added, Let that dry, meanwhile, have allowed in line over here at school again, going with a light on off into Go on, adding the crown for this mountain here you can go with the combination off Flatbush and driver strokes. But go the very light on. No matter which blue you are using, the ground needs to be in a lighter tone for this one. Also. Over here you can add some pine trees and to make it a complete painting. Now let's go with the top one. I'm taking pains. Agree on. I'm gonna add feel pine trees over this line. I'm going with a very rough shape, adding a line first on taking my brush in a back and forth movement to create the fall age . I have a lot fume or maybe ah, shorter one on a combination off shorter and taller ones here and there You can see how easily these mountains transformed into a beautiful painting. Now I'm going to add all rough shadow here for the other trees as well. Maybe I have a large few little trees here and there, and that's it. Maybe you could add all nice blue sky on that will complete the whole painting. If you want, you can fill up the entire line and pine trees. That's totally up to you. I just wanted to show you how you can transform simple elements into a beautiful painting. The same thing could be done onto the bottom one asked for. You can add a competition of shoulder and total pine trees over this line. You could go in a little more detailed manner asked. This mountain looks much more closer to you, so yeah, that's all. We tried three different snowy mountains, starting with a very basic one. For the 2nd 1 we went over the same technique which we used earlier on. Along with that, we added some ot tails on for the Taliban. We went in with much more polo details. You get to choose one from these and use a past, your background element and any off your future paintings. Now let's try something and a different shade. Now the only she'd be used where blue and pain scree. Now let's try something in green. I'm going to show the same kind of mountains in different colors so that you haven't understanding how to use the same technique and different ways. The basic technique is all the same, but when you change the color, eight off the mountain has a very different look on. It can be used in different situations. The one we tried earlier as we went in the just blue, it became a snowy mountain. Now, when I'm trying the same thing, what green? It will become a very lush green mountain, which you can use in your green landscapes. I have the basic sketch really here. That is so much similar to the previous ones. Now I'm starting with bright yellow green on. I'm gonna apply that onto the right side for a change. I'm gonna make the right side lighter. And the last side More Darko. Which means I will have all the shadow and the Jacko tunes concentrated on my left side, the stand. You're not leaving any white. We're going to simply cover up the anti media and pride cream. Now I'm switching to SAB Crane and I'm simply adding fuel lines on top of the bride cream, which I applied to give it more textures. I'm only using two shades for the site. Bright yellow green and SAB cream. You can go with any green off your choice. It is just that one side will be lighter on the other side of Morocco. Has the light will be hitting on one side and we'll have the DACA tones and shadows on the other side. All right, now I'm going to switch to the left side. I'm going with a dark a bushel sap green. I'm simply filling up this area and that color, as we have created that division using an irregular line at the middle, you just need to follow the line and simply add in your color onto the left side. Now I'm gonna go with the doc. Oh, tunes. I'm going to switch toe a dark abortion of green. Yeah, before that, this line is very important. You need to have that lying very clean and sharp. That is what gives your mountain and identity. I'm using indigo to add my taco tunes. Yeah, One more thing. When you're adding the color on your left side, make sure you're lighter tones on the right side has completely dried. Otherwise, the colors can mix in together and create a dirty patch. You won't get a sharp line at the middle, so the sharp line is very important. So concentrating more on the irregular line at the middle, I simply add in the doctor tones onto the green we had applied earlier. Now you can see how prominent that Linus looking now I'm going with moon taco tombs. You need to add these darker tones before your base layer off saccharine tries. I think I'm down with the darko tones. Now I'm switching to SAB creating on I'm gonna add some more taco tunes on the right side. I'm leaving that lighter part Lassiter's I won't that dark and light junction at the middle , so I won't be adding any darko tones over there. Andi, that's it. We're done with our first green mountain. Now let me quickly show you how you can change this little mountain in tow. All complete painting. I will add some lighter mountains in the background. I'm going with Interco and I'm adding a mountain in the background, maybe avalanche another snowy mountain behind it to create a little more depth 12 painting by all this exercise. My intention is to give you a proper idea about how to paint background and foreground elements and also how you can change those elements into a painting quite easily. Now I will add a snowy mountains of the background, something similar to the one we tried first. Now I'm gonna drop in a little off sap green onto this mountain here on then at the bottom. I've learned a few more taco tunes and also act some trees at that line. The technique section of this class is quite important as well. Be trying similar elements and other main paintings. So if you have tried all these ones, it is really going to help you. In your main paintings, you can mustard quite easily. Everything has completely dried. Now let me quickly add few tiny trees over here, just a very a big shape that doesn't need to be detailed. I'm adding some shapes. They are very far from you, so you don't need to put a lot of effort, just a shapes in off. Now add shadows for all these little trees using the same color. If you want, you can full of the entire line. Using little trees like this, maybe have allowed a few more when we are adding these kind of trees always remember to play but different heights. Those little things will are a lot of character to your painting. It is very important to play with different tonal values and also different heights. These two things are very born, and when you're adding trees, if you look at the trees around you, none of them look the same. Some of them will be darker in color and some of them and be lighter in color on. None of them are in the same height. Asphalt. All right now let's have a quick recap is too close we used. We went in with bright yellow green on. Then we used sap green toe. Add the medium tunes on. We also went in with a brighter thrown off sap green for the left side. Then, to add the darker tones we used in Tico on also used a lighter version off into Goto the background mountains.
10. Practice - Background elements - Part 3: Now let's go with the second mountain. I will start with the very basic pencil sketch. I'm going to add something like a valley with a narrow part in the murder Had a line like this Now on the other side as well. Now, at the middle, I'm gonna add a nado cov award on. That's it. We have our basic pencils catch. Now I'm going to switch toe bright yellow green. Now living the rule, you can add paint onto either side off the valley. I'm simply adding my pride. Yellow cream. I'm not adding any paint onto the road. Similarly, ever laden pained on the other side hospital. This is a beautiful light green. If you don't have a some local er, you can mix Ah little of sap green to your lemon Hello and get a similar color. Now I'm gonna switch to sap green and I'm adding some jocko tunes onto this valley. Just dropping in sap ring onto the red background, you can see hold. Those colors are blending. Now I'm gonna add a little of bone. Sina asked. This is just to give the valley or more realistic. Look, just a little over board the sides a very light tone us enough. You shouldn't be going with a darker tone off Mancina. And now going back with sap green on, filling up the remaining area and sap green. So I used to different greens and a little Oborne. Xena, you can see how fresh and vibrant double values looking at the moment. Now I'm gonna add a light on of bones, you know, onto that road at the middle, just a very light tune. Be a little careful while you're adding the color passable, packed around the stool. But our next task is to add more taco tunes on the Valley. You can go with the Darko, tune off, sap green and keep adding lines like this. The green hasn't dried. You can see how it is nicely going and with the background, had enough off Darko tunes on either side. So we added a base layer. Now we are going with the medium tune off green. Now, after those, we will go in with a much more taco toe on. Add in the final details on to make the valley look more defined to create a darker tone of green on mixing sap green and intercooled. Now, just like how we added a medium tune off green in a similar way, I'm gonna add the darker tone, Aspar. So these are the lines. Very well. Have more shadows. So I'm concentrating on all those a Diaz bear Have elite art moon taco tunes. You can see how the road is standing out right now when we added the Darko tools. Now you can keep on adding lines on either side and keep Tebow Valley more text shoes now to the same shape we used earlier. I'm adding more into go on making the green mood talker, and I'm just dropping a little darker tones Onley onto these two lines. Now I'm gonna add some simple trees on either side off the road. It's a very simple tree. There's no details at all. You just need to add our similar shape on either side of the road on, then at a shadow at the bottom. I'm not hiding too many fuel on the side and feel on the other side, and that's it. I added very few trees. If you want to add more, you can go ahead with that, but make sure you're adding a shadow also after you add the shape off the tree. Now, using a lighter tone off the same shade, I'm gonna add a line of trees over here. Only on the one side you can see how I'm taking my brush, just adding lines like this at different heights on, then filling up the bottom area. It's a very cool technique to create landscape. I think I have used the same technique and few of my other classes Asper. So if you have taken my moral chrome class and also my class on a Night and Sweden both classes, I have used the same technique to create landscape. Now I haven't had few trees or word that line going with a darko tone off the same shade I mixed into go and sap cream more integral and less sap green. That is why the color is looking more like black. You can see how easily we created a green valley. I'm adding some more trees. Add an ass moneytree sassy wand. Don't forget to add the shadow. That is what gives your tree a complete look. Otherwise it will look like it was just floating in the air all right with that we're done with were Green Valley. Now let's have a quick recap of the colors we used. We went in with bright yellow cream and for the medium tones we used sap green. And along with that, we used a little born seen a passport. Then to add the darko tools were used in Deco, so those are the full shades were used. I hope you all enjoy art painting the simple Green Valley. Now let's try a different mountain with more details and more tech shoes. I'm going to add the pencil sketch just already a big line off a mountain and fuel lines just to guide me when I add the color. All right, so that's a pencil sketch. I'm really going with Integral, and I'm adding a taco tone at the top. As I come down, I will make the mountain look like I'm just following the shape that I added onto leaving the integral in a very rough manner. Now I'm starting to who goes green. This is a much more vibrant green than sap cream. Now just keep adding the green close to the integral. Mix them well on to take your color down. There is nothing complicated here. We added in to go on the top. Then we added Who co screen. Now I'm going with the bright yellow cream onto making the bottom part even more lighter, just adding that close to hook a screen on mixing that well so you could see on the top. We have a darko tuned and we have ah, medium tone at the middle on aspirants. The bottom. We have a lighter cream. You can see how I added those taco tunes on the lines. I added. That is why I told you this will act as a guide lines later. Now I'm following the same line. I'm adding more taco tones, using intercourse, starting from the top and then just fooling lines, which I had argued earlier. I'm not waiting for the bag going to dry. I'm dropping in the paint onto the bed to background so that the first step now we'll have to wait for this to dry. You can see how I use those guidelines to divide my mountain into different parts. This will help me when I add the darko tones. Now everything has dried completely. I'm adding in dry brush patterns onto the entire mountain. We already discussed how to add dry brush patterns in the previous section. I've ended with a similar way. Now I'm switching to pain scree, and I'm going with the very final details of the mountain. I'm separating the mountains into different parts by adding Dakotans. I'm just fooling the guidelines which we had applied. Add a darker tone along the line and give your mountain more defiant. Look, I'm going with the other two pieces. On the left side, you can see the wide variety of textures, because on this mountain we went in the three different tones of green in Tico who cause green on a light green, then be added driver strokes. Now we're going with a much more defined lines to make the mountain look more realistic. All right, now it's time to add some trees on the bottom, just like Obi did on the previous mountain Amusing pain scream and in a similar way, how we did earlier. I'm adding some broth shapes off trees a little more taller than the one we tried all their . I added few drinks of the bottom. Now, in a similar way I'm gonna add some on the cell phones off the mountain. The ones on the mountain needs to be very tiny. You just need to add some lines. You can see how I'm adding the trees. They're just lines. The shape is not really with civil. This are very far from you, so you won't be able to see the proper shape. Just a bread Ethan line. You can add more where you have those taco tones. Adam asked. Many treats Asselborn, but make sure the triggers, which you're adding on the bottom line, needs to be a little larger than the one on the sofa. So the mountain needs to be ready Tiny. Otherwise you won't have that sense of proportion. Now you see the light of dawn off saccharine, um, adding a rough shadow for all the street feels. So the colors we used were in Dicle. We added into Go on the top. That was the doctor stone we used for the mountain. Then we went in with hooker screen, which is a very by print beautiful cream that was a medium. Don't be used for the mountain. Then be used bright yellow cream for the lighter tones on for the final final details. We used pain, scree, he added. The darkest stones on the mountains and also the used paints create our the trees at the bottom. So, yeah, those are the four shades were used. Maybe I will add in feel more tiny trees on the mountain. I'm really loving this green mountain here. We'll get to see this kind of mountains. And really, if you look for then Screen Mountain, you'll say some of the kind of photographs and yoku and we are done. So we tried three different mountains using green on three different mountains using blue and paints queen. Now let's try something different in the next section. Are you excited? All right, let's quickly exam to the next one.
11. Practice - Background elements - Part 4: All right, guys, we are at the last section off our background elements. I hope you guys enjoyed the previous two mountains we tried and blue and green. Now, as I mentioned earlier this time, we're going to try something in Brown. Let me quickly al a pencil sketch and we'll really go in with adding the color. I added three mountains. Now I'm gonna add that irregular line at the middle on divide the mountain into two parts. One side will be darker on the other side will be lighter, just like how we did in the earlier sections. Or right now let's start adding the pain the first shared. I'm going with this yellow joker. This is a more attorney alot. I'll add a light to know a Loker onto the entire mountain. Just fuel random drugs here and there. I'm not gonna entirely fill the modern in your locker. As you see here, I'm randomly taking my brush on adding some strokes and a very rough manner. You don't need to worry about the doctor and the lighter side. You can randomly fill the entire mountain in similar kind of strokes and then we have our base layer. Now I'm gonna add more details onto this mountain. First, I'm going with a lighter tone off orange. I'm using permanent yellow orange. You can use guinea orange study have God, but go with a very light. Oh, we don't want a vibrant orange, just a similar kind of donors. Enough now, just like how we added the local with orange and add some random lines here and there again , don't worry about the lighter and the darker side at this point, just like mine. Your mountain may look messy, but that is absolutely OK. Once we add the DACA tunes, you will get to see how this messy lines are adding a lot of beauty to your mountain. So don't worry about the messy look you have at the moment now without any fear. Go ahead and add orange tones onto your mountain. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that we need to see the white background. Then we need to see the light or yellow tunes, and also the orange tones. Each and every color should be with simple. You shouldn't be covering up the entire base layer. Now I'm switching to born Sina on in a similar way. I'm gonna add some random lines onto the mountain again. I'm not worrying about the doctor and the lighter side. Our task is to go in with as many tones as we can on and at more and more texture onto the mountain. Along with adding those brown tones onto your mountain, you can also define the line, he added. At the middle, otherwise went to our Lord Browne tune. That line won't be possible, so just roughly defined that line. It will make it a C while we are the darker tones. Now I'm adding some driver strokes onto the entire mountain, and after this I will be switching to my taco tone. Get a taco to know brown on mixing paints, Cree and Mancina. If you have any darko browned readily available, like Van Dyke brown or bones number, you can really use that you don't need to mix and weak Darko problem. So here's the kind of color that I'm using. I'll start by defining that line at the middle. Then I'm gonna add Darko tones on the right side of the mountain on feel on the left side Aspen. But my main focus will be on the right side. This is where I have all the shadows on. I'm concerned the left side to be lighter. That is where the light is hitting so you can decide on which party want to be light and which party want to be darker. Andi, according to that, are the Darko tunes. I'm simply adding some driver strokes onto the right side of the mountain on Along with that, I'm also defining that center line now, adding fuel lines onto the left side. Just few random lines don't add Borland. Declines go, but Britain and delicate lines on When you're adding that trendline, take it in a broken pattern. Don't make the line continuous. You can see how I'm adding it here. Go with the competition off broken lines and that in scribbles. Now in a similar manner. I'm going to add some taco tones onto this left mountain Aspar. Now you can see how the mountain is taking its shape. I will add a few more Darko tones than I will switch to my final details. So far, we did quite a lot of mountains, and I think you guys are quite clear about sketching the mountain on adding the different tools. The technicals. Quiet. Similar. Now I'm gonna add the final details onto the mountain. I'm directly going with paint. Agree? I'm not missing any brown and toe that first, I will start by defining that line in the murder. Then I have a lot few taco tunes in a very random manner. Go the mix off bigger and smaller patterns. You can see some areas. I added a pickle patch and some areas I vented. But Britain lines. So go in a similar competition. Don't just randomly fill the entire area. Anadarko toe. All right, we're done with our first brown mountain. So the colors we used where pain, scree, burn Sina permanent yellow, orange and yellow joker. Those are the four shades were used. Now let's quickly go with the next one. I'm starting with adding the sketch off a mountain in a similar way. How we did while you're on, we have our sketch now I'm using permanent prone. This is some more reddish ground. You can use Ponsana if you don't have permanent problem Now I'm gonna add a flat wash off problem Brown onto the left side off all these mountains on. As I come down, I will be adding a little off orange, Pullman and yellow orange adding this towards the bottom. Now let me quickly to be the same. Step onto these three mountains here, So we went in with a flat wash of brown and orange. Now I'm gonna apply a little brown onto the bottom part Aspen. Then we will switch toe Darko tones or brown on. We will add more details onto the mountain. Now I'm going with a much more boulder, washing off permanent pounds, loading my brush with prominent round on, just dropping that culo onto the wet background. Now that will nicely blend into the background, creating a lot of textures on the mountain. You can our doors or lines or anything you prefer. It doesn't really matter. As the background is wet, it will just merged with the background. Now I'm mixing permanent brown and pains. Great to get a doctor to off crown. Follow the line we have added at the middle on Philip toe right side and the stock photo brown. This time I'm not adding too many lines or patterns. I'm just going with a flat wash as you reached the bottom. Leave it in a very rough manner. You shouldn't be taking it to department. Same goes with the other two mountains first to define the line at the middle, then fill it up as you hit the bottom. Leave it Awesome scrappy lines. Now the same goes for this tiny mountain here. So we added paint onto the patch. We creator now take those lines little more down on leave it in a very rough manner. Also, you can add some lines onto the left side of the mountain, just like how we did about just a few lines are enough. We already have added texture onto the mountain, so you don't need to add a lot of lines just big fuel random areas and add some lines and dogs and little patterns on. With that, we're done with our second mountain. Now, a quick recap of the Carlos prevented with pains great for the Darko tools on permanent brown for the medium tones and the background wash, and we also used orange along the bottom on that was Sirte. They're under the last type of mountain. This time I'm going with a little different shape. You might have seen these kind of mountains with a tapering top. The technique is going to be exactly the same. It was just that the shape is little different this time, just like how we did earlier. I will be adding darko tones and lighter tones on create more texture on the mountain. Along this line are the lad taco tunes and onto the other side. It will be lighter. So this time we have more divisions, which means you will have to concentrate on each and every single part of this mountain. We'll be going with a similar color combination we tried about. I'm gonna go with Pullman and Yellow Orange. Andi, I'm going to apply that onto each and every division I have created here. Then for the medium tune, I will go with permanent problem. You can also use bond scene Uh then once those later drives, I will go in with the Darko tunes in a similar way. How we did about so the added orange and drown. Now with the doctor tonal brown, I'm going to divide the mountain into different parts. I'm following the lines we added earlier and adding a taco tour now on to the final Etling , using a much more taco town of problem I mixed paints crave with prominent problem. Now, using that color, I'm defining all those divisions I'm yet to add. Depends gray tones. Let everything dry. Meanwhile, let's have a quick look at the colors We used the colors we used for our permanent yellow orange balm and brow on pains degree. Now I'm going with the doc 02 amusing pain screen, and I'm taking my brush along. All those divisions be created on adding a little off taco tone on all those sections. This will define the shape off my mountain. All right, so here are the mountains we tried. First we went in with a snowy mountain. We tried a very basic snowy mountain than we kept on, adding more details onto it. Then we went in with a greener mountains. We tried different kind of valleys, and we tried how to add more details onto it. Then we tried some mountains and brown tone. All of them have a very unique look, and you can use them in your landscape paintings. These elements will surely are a lot of character to your painting
12. Let's have a look at the colors: before we get started with our class protects. Let me give you a quick look on the colors. You will need to follow each of these class projects. I often get messages from my students saying it is always better to give a list of colors they would need in advance so that we can be prepared while China the class project. So here is the full paintings will be doing. This is a first class project for the sky. I will be using bright blue. You can use cerulean blue, are Prussian blue or any blew off your choice on for the mountain on the right, I will be using Interco on for this one on the left side of abusing Interco and a little off Zachary for the landscape of the bottom. I will be voting sap green and to get a jackal tomb, I will be mixing sap green on into good together and for the meadow at the bottom. I will be using bright yellow cream on toe. Add the darko tones and all those check shows, other because in submarine, so that's the first class project. Now let's look at the 2nd 1 The 2nd 1 is a flowery meadow and most of the closer repeated other than for some orange and right. So let's start with the sky for the sky. I will be using Taylor blue and a little off orange on for the mountain. On the left side, I will be using sap green, and for the one on the right, I will be using pain scree on over to the bottom. For the meadow, I will be using bright yellow creating and sap cream on to create that floral bed at the bottom. I will be using yellow, orange and permanent right on. Also to add that little narrow road I've abusing Bonsignore. So that's it with the 2nd 1 Now let's have a look at the 3rd 1 The term born is a mountain and the lake landscape on the colors I'm using for this one as turquoise blue for the sky. You can go with any kind of blew on for the mountain abuse in sap green and a little off bright yellow crane to our does. Lighter turns on for the mountain in the background. That snowy mountain I will be using integral now over to the bottoms with a lake to add the shadow off the mountain. I will be using sap green on for that middle part. I will be using cobalt green on. Then attend off turquoise on over to the right, and I will be using Taleb. Look. So those are the colors you will need for the toad landscape now moving on to the food and the final class project. It is very evident that brown is the major color on it is a combination off the mountain to be tried in the practice section. So the colors you will need a stay low blue for the sky again. You can go with any kind of blue for your sky. It doesn't need to be Taleb. Look on for the mountain. I will be using a bit off yellow ocher on yellow orange and for the second line off mountains, I will be using Bonsignore or permanent crown any kind of brown that you have on for the border part as well. You will need yellow ocher, yellow, orange and a little of bones in our to add the textures on for that little role in the middle. I will be going with a lighter tone of pain. Scree. So those are the major close. You will need to follow each of these class project. It is not already Beit Collection. It is a very limited palette for each painting. I hope you all are sorted for the class protects. So without any more ado, let's get started. Double first class project.
13. Class Project 1: so we did quite a lot of exercises. Now it's time to start. Will mean class protects. I'm going with an easy one. First, let's start with pencils, kitsch, Adaline a little below the center. Now I'm adding a mountain onto the right side. That's your mountain. Now. Add an irregular line at the middle. All right now another mountain on the left side. It's a very simple Benton's kitsch. There's nothing complicated here on the already discussed about the size of the painting. Beer doing it is quite small. It was just on a six eyes. Now I'm gonna apply and even go the water onto the sky for the sky. I will be using bright blue, just like how we did in the exercise section on. I will be creating a day sky with some clouds. So if you want to go with a different color or a different kind of sky, you could do that. We already explored different kind of skies. I'm not taking pains Cree and adding those shadows. I will be simply leaving it as white clouds, so if you want to make a more detail, you could do that. You can add a shadow using pain scream. I made the background, but then I'm simply dropping in price blue color, leaving some white shapes and between which will be my clouds. This is the same thing which we explored in the sky section. The sky is nearly done. E think I need to clean this area a little bit. Okay, so the sky is done. We'll paint the mountain once the sky dries. Meanwhile, let's go with the ground. I'm using a bright yellow green and I'm simply filling up the entire ground in this color. If you don't have a bright yellow crane, you can mix a little off submarine to lemon yellow. You will get a similar color. So don't worry if you don't have bright yellow cream the one time you think you're us from cell. Earlier on, you could say I'm nearly finishing the pain, which I had on my palette. I need to sell it, even sap cream that also I need to refer. So I applied a flat wash of bright to look rain to the entire landscape at the bottom. Now I'm going to sack rain, and I'm going to add more textures on the ground using some cream sap green and this bright yellow crane as a perfect combination. Really loud. The brightness on that freshness off the sculler e full to my brush with enough up sap green. Now, just closely watch how I'm taking my brush. Remember, my background is still wet. I added a line like that now living a little elves and happened between I'm adding multiple lines in an inclined manner, adding more onto the top. A DEA. So you need to wait for, like, one or two minutes. It shouldn't be too wet when you're applying your green color on it. Shouldn't be to try. As for it should be somewhere in the middle. You shouldn't be directly applying the cream lines going to the vet background. If it's too wet, the pain that you're applying will start to smart and create a blurry line. You won't get this kind of a line, so wait for one or two minutes again. It depends on the kind of people you're using. If you're using a kind of people, which drives very quickly, you should only wait for like, 30 seconds or less than hat. So depending on the kind off paper. You're using just a plant accordingly, but remember no to apply them to the very vet people. So the applied a flat washing bright yellow cream and created a background. Then I bent in the submarine on added these lines with a little gap in between. Now I'm going with a bit more doctrine of green, amusing Coco's Greenhill on just on to the border, in part on adding a taco tune. Just a free hand line. We just need to apply it on one end and labored free. You shouldn't be taking your line from one end to the other. You can see at the bottom part all the lines are looking very dark on as it goes to the other end. It is getting lighter. That is because I left the line free. I'm putting the pressure on Lee on one end. Then I'm leaving it free on. That's why I called these kind of lines. Now I'm going with a bit more taco tone of green. I'm mixing a little off into go into hookers, cream and again, going with free kind lines, adding dark, atone at the bottom end and then leaving it to sleep you can use the same technique to paint a lavender field or a big field. We just need to change the Carlos. You can go with our yellow and brown competition to paint away trained Andi, both glamping competition to paint a lavender field. Now let's pain the mountains. The sky has completely dried. I'm going with a lighter tone off indigo, and I'm feeling of the right patch we created. Just follow the line and simply Philip the patch we have on the right now. I had lighter tones off into go onto the left side, just like meted in the exercise section the same way how we've been to the first mountain. I'm adding some lighter tones off into Go onto the left side. I guess by now you guys are exports and painting mountains. We tried quite a lot of mountains, and this was the very 1st 1 we tried. It's a very simple yet a beautiful mountain. You can see how easily I painted this mountain. I left most of the people white asset is on added fuel lines here and there, and that's it. We're done with our first mountain. Now let's being the one on the left again. I'm going with Indigo. I would like in to go on the top, and as I come down, I will switch to sap Green. I won't be going directly with saccharine because that will be too bright for the background. I will be making a little off into Go into Sac Ri to get a muted kind of green because I don't want the background to be too bright as we have. Ah, very bright full ground. We already have a lot off brightness in the bottom, so let's leave the background a little muted. I created a muted green. Now I'm gonna fill up the bottom area and that color. I don't want a mountain to be to pride, and that's why I went in with a muted queen. If your color preferences different, you could go with our bright green. You can see how beautifully over landscape is taking shape. We have a traditionally mountain in the background on. We have another blue and green mountains in the foreground, onto pride and fresh landscape at the bottom all together. It's giving me a very fresh feel now. The only task left us to add a line off trees in front off Budi Mountains will go with the darker line of trees in front. Off the blue and green mountain on in front of the snowy mountain will go with a lighter line of trees. So that's only task. Left a tweet for that too dry. Then we will come back with the trees. This is a snowy mountain be used here on for the other mountain we just went in with In Dico and the muted green. We simply applied those two shapes onto the entire mountain. So this is how you can use the element to be learned in the previous section in your watercolor paintings. We just went in with the Basic Mountain. Looks like everything has dried completely. Now let's add the line off trees. I'm going with sap green, so on to the right side. I'm going. It sap green on. When I do the other set of tree on the left side, I will go, but a darker tone of green. I'm adding the baseline. I'm not going with a proper tree shape. I'm just adding lines close to each other. Asked is quite far from you. You don't need to put a lot of effort. Just these kind of trace are enough are thin and delicate lines close to each other. So you have that tree pattern on the top and the bottom party. Then fill up with the same color that you're using. I finished adding the pattern on the entire line. As you could see, I started with shorter trees on as I progressed and reach towards the other end. I went in with taller ones. All right, so the right side is done. Now I'm going to the left side. As I said earlier, I'm going with the doctor to are green. I'm mixing Interco Onda little of who goes green to create that for a screen kind of color . Just go up any dark Odin of green and doesn't really matter which close your mixing. We just need a taco tune now on to the left side. I'm starting with the base line now in a similar way. How why did earlier? I'm gonna add lines close to each other, and I'm gonna create a line off trees the color that I'm going with this quite dark. This is a very simple technique. Tow ARD landscape in the background. We just need to act in on delicate lines close to each other. Some of them can be taller, and some of them can be shorter and go with a combination of different height. It will make your landscape look more beautiful. Now fill up the entire line as you progress towards the other end. Make sure your lines are getting shorter. Maybe you can increase the height off the ones who have on the left end so that you have that progression off height just like I'm doing here. I'm just increasing the height of these lines on as I go towards the other end of Wilmington. Shorter and finally I made it to the other end. This is quite a time consuming exercise to add those tiny lines and make the entire line off trees. It requires a little off patient as well. Anyway, I'm very happy with the way this landscape turned out, especially the boredom part. I'm loving the Y brand and the fresh colors we have caught here, and also the Bagram is adding a lot of beauty to the foreground. I hope you guys enjoyed this first PC landscape we had already tried this landscape elements the mountain on the sky, which we used in this painting. If you want to try the same painting with a different element, you could do that. Maybe you can go with a greener mountain or a brownish mountain. Go ahead and try it out. Maybe you can change the sky aspirin. You can go with a different color for your sky. Or maybe you can add a more dramatic sky with a lot of clouds, So give it a try on explode. Different possibilities go with your favorite color. Andi enjoyed this PC landscape in the upcoming class. Projects will be going with a little more detailed manner. I wanted to give you a very quick and easy start on. That's why I've ended with uneasy one first. Now it's time to level up Arcane. Are you ready? I've seen the next section
14. Class Project 2: Alright, guys, let's start with over second class project. The 1st 1 was quite easy. This one looks a little complicated, but at us SEC as the 1st 1 Let's start with the pencil sketch. I'm adding a line at the middle on adding to simple mountains on either side. I'm adding a CO we popped at the middle or right, and that's of a pencil sketch. This is my most favorite painting they'll be doing in this class. And I'm so excited to start, I'm gonna add and even called the water onto the sky. Just a thing called the water. Okay, now let's start adding the color. I'm gonna go with the blue on an orange sky. I will be adding bright blue onto the top on over the bottom. I will be going with an orange tone. It's going to be a very simple sky. I'm not adding any clouds or any trauma into the sky. Just a little of blue on the top. On over the bottom. I will call with orange. You can go with any blew off your child. Just drop in some blue on to the top just that much. Now I'm switching toe orange amusing permanent yellow orange Andi again. I'm going with a very light tone on adding that on to the bottom insert off orange. You can also use the allure and create a similar sky. We tried in the practice section. You can see the cholera music. You're just kind of very light. When the sky dries, it will get even more lighter. So I have added a court off orange. Now I'm going to the bright Odone off orange, and I'm just dropping few streaks onto the light yellow orange, he added. Now one most wreak on the right end. I used permanent rate. You can see how easily we created a gorgeous guy. Now let's wait for this guy to dry. Meanwhile, let's pain the boredom landscape, art. Once the sky drives, we will add paint onto the mountain. I used the shade quite a lot. I'm nearly done with my fright ILO green. All right, so here s a quick dump Neil sketch I created When I was imagining all seen like this, I was trying the colors. How well it will go together. Let's start with a project. I'm gonna fill almost half off the bottom part and Brighton cream just a flat wash off this color. Don't worry about the road. Be added. We'll be coming back to that later. Just at a light, yellowish green toe, half off that bar to have at the bottom. Now, on to this, I'm gonna add fuel tunes off sac cream, adding few lines onto the wet background. Just a few lines randomly. That's enough. Now I'm gonna spit toe orange. I'm using permanent yellow orange, the same one we used for the sky on. I'm gonna add that at the bottom. This is to create that flower bed. Just add the orange she'd closer to the green. You have applied. We'll be adding more talker tones onto this for now, all you need to do us apply a flat wash of orange. If you don't have a permanent yellow orange, you can mix gamble, Jell O and a little of war. 1,000,000. Drink together to get a similar color. You can see the colors are mixing very well together. Now I'm spitting to Hooker's green. You can also use saccharine or any other green, which you prefer now on to the bottom remaining part. I'm gonna add this color you're painting might look messy, had this moment, but that is OK. We'll be adding a lot more. Details of the bottom will be adding more Darko tunes to create that levels at the bottom. So don't worry, even if your background is not looking small door. If it has some rough patches, that's absolutely OK. And that's the base layer. Are Bagram the still wet? Now I'm going to dock Oto off orange. Andi, I'm gonna simply drop that into the background. You can see how the color is spreading. You can follow the green line and start adding from there, all you need to do is just add random dots. The color will start to spread. Let it spread the way it wants to. Don't try to control the way it is spreading. I'm using permanent red. You can also use Scarlett or Formal 100 or crimson or any kind of rent that you perform. So I started with bright yellow green on guy filled half off the bottom parties in that color. Then I dropped a little off green tones here and there. Then the remaining part I went in with orange on over to the bottom, I added Hooker's green. Now I'm dropping in a dark illusion of orange onto the area where we had applied a light orange. The entire background is still bet. Now I'm gonna place a paper towel covering up half the Borg and part. Now I'm going to supply to some flowers. I only want them at the bottom. And that is why I kept a people trouble on the top. Now, before you start splattering, just remove the excess pain from your brush. Using a people trouble just rabbit on a people travel on. Remove the excess water so that you get Chinese plateaus like this. If there is a lot of paint on impression, you won't get these kind of timing splatters. You will enter getting those big splatters between look nice. So don't forget to dip your brush on a people toe. I'm using permanent dread. You can use any red off your choice. You can also use crimson are vermilion or any bright red add. Ask me, ask you want you can see the size of this plateau I'm getting here. That is just because I removed the excess water from my brush. Andi That's it. We got enough or flowers on the bottom now, using crimson, I'm adding some more flowers at the bottom just to get more bright off. Lass, all you need to do was just add random darts like this. You don't need to follow any shape or pattern. Load your brush. But the darko Don't afraid Onda had darts like this in a very random manner. On That's it. You have a beautiful flower bed at the bottom. Now I'm going to switch to a darker turn off green, and I'm gonna clean up the bottom part on mixing hooker's green and intercourse to get a Dakota off green. Now add that on to the bottom as to reach the orange flowers. You can take your brush in a daughter pattern just closely. Have a look how I'm taking my brush. When I'm reaching those flowers onto the bottom, I'm simply adding the color on when I'm reaching a plus. I'm taking my brush and a daughter pattern. You can also add some lines along with the daughter pattern, so it will make it look like the entire bottom has cross and flowers and so money while things are coming together. All right, The remaining off the landscape has tried. Now I'm taking a lighter tone off born scene, huh? Andi, I'm gonna draw that part We had left in between. I'm just following the line we had drawn. Go with a very thin and delicate line. I'm not really liking my throat. Go with a much more than a line. Actually, mine looks but thicker. No mind. Let it be like that. Now let's paint the mountains. I'm going to start with the mountain on the left. First I'm going to start by adding and even kudos Bright yellow green onto the entire mountain, our paintings looking so fresh and right. And I'm really loving the way this is progressing now I'm switching to SAB grain and I'm adding some medium tones onto the mountain just on to the top. A DEA now a little on the border. Maskell now going with a bit more pride to turn off green. Amusing Coco's green adding fuel lines on the top to give it more textures. All right, now you seem born number. I'm adding a thing lying along the rule along this line and also along the slide Go with Britain and Delicate line. We have one more mountain left on the right side. I'm going with the muted green for that mountain mixing paints great and sap green to get in greyish green. Go with a very light room and Philip that entire mountain, all right on Dhere as where we have read so far now my only to ask us to add in a little more details on to the bottom on at a few trees along the mountains. So I'm going with a darker tone of green and again, taking my brush and adulthood pattern on making the flowers more defined. You just need to do this along the line, very how those flowers go with the darko tone of cream. We just keep adding George like this to make the bottom area moved to find and task one is done. The next task is to add trees onto this line. The trees were adding, is quite simple. You just need to take your fresh from bottom to top and a free hand manner on. That's your tree. Now you can add as many as you want. Go with different heights. Some of them can be taller and somebody can be shorter. And also some of them can be in a taco. Tarnoff cream on some of them can be in a lighter tone. Go the variation off to on also variation of height. This will make your painting look more interesting. Don't add them in the same height. You can see the shape of the tree is quite simple. I'm not putting a lot of effort and cleaning up the shape. You just need to take your brush from bottom to top on Liggett free. So on the bottom, you tree a sticker on as you leave the line free on the top. You have a nice tip. Ask. The streets are very far from you. You don't need to put a lot of effort. Just add some wake shapes. E I added enough off trees. I'm not gonna fill the entire line. I left some areas in between. I think it looks better when you live Little gaps in between rather than covering of the entire line in trees. But the final choice is yours. If you want to cover the entire line using trees, you could do that on Dhere. Several final painting you can see how fresh and beautiful it is looking. We created a nice floral meadow at the bottom on we left the top asset is on. You have a nice contrast between that orange on the light cream on. That is the beauty off this painting. And we added some wake trees and simple mountains in the background on, but that we're done with our second painting and I hope you all in charge painting this flowery middle.
15. Class Project 3: I already said the previous painting breaded, That's my most rare breed from the four class projects will be doing. But once I finish this, I think I have to change. This is my most favorite one. I kind of like the green and Blue competition, which I have here Anyway, let's start with over painting the Green Mountains will be doing in. This painting has inspired from this but here that's almost similar, like the one we tried in our technique section. I'm just gonna copied hat and put that into the background on then paint our for groundwater. So I'm quickly starting with a pencil catch, adding a mountain on the left side. Then I will add one more mountain on the right side on a few little mountains in the background so the ones in the foreground will be the greener mountains. On the one to have the background will be snowy mountains. Now I will add the bottom line off the mountain. I'll just take my line in his exact manner on create that land at the bottom. Andi that said that civil pencil sketch. So we have the mountain on. We have the water at the bottom now for the sky. I'm going with turquoise blue. I'm directly applying turquoise blue onto the try paper. I'm not gonna let the paper. The area is quite small, so I thought, it's OK to go with the being directly. I'm not adding any clout, some areas and making the color lighter on some areas. I'm going with a little more brighter washing off turquoise blue, just filling the entire sky. Now I'm adding few lines using a bit more taco. Turn off turquoise blue. Andi let that blend with the background that said to pare down with the words sky. Now let's wait for this guy to dry, and after that we'll go with the snowy mountains. Then we will pain the grain mountains in the foreground for the background. One will be going with a similar mountain like we tried here. It's going to be a very simple mountain in the background on for the one in the foreground , just like I mentioned when we started will be going with does greener mountains. Looks like everything has dried. I'm taking a lighter tone off in Deco, Andi, adding that patch on the right side first, now I'm gonna add few lighter tones on the left side on, but that will be done with a bow, snowy mountain. Now with the same light on off indigo. I'm gonna fill up that remaining, but on the right side, just feeling a bad but with an even wash off intercourse, the same tone I used for the right fit on. That said, Now let's move on to the Green Mountains in a similar way. How we did on this one. So on to the right side of these two mountains, I will be adding a lighter tone off green. This is bright yellow green again and selling of these two mountains and an even wash of bright yellow green on. Later I will be adding darko tones. Using sap green, I added an even wash off like green on to both the mountains. No, I'm going with sap green. Go with a medium tonal sap. Green on just had few lines onto the mountain, just a few lines in a very random manner. Same goes to the one on the right side. Go with the medium tone, don't use a taco tune, and also don't cover up the entire light green background. We want our different colors to be possible or right, so that's a right side. Now let's go with the left side, where you will have more taco total green. I'm going with olive green. You can use either a little brain or sap create who cause green any kind of grain. As we'll be adding more Dakotans onto that, it doesn't really matter which cream you're going with for the base layer. Let me quickly fill up these two sides using olive green. Then we will be adding the darker tones. Once you reach the middle, make sure your like ring has completely dried. We don't want to close to smart into each other. We want a clear and sharp separation between both the colors, so building careful when you are raising the center. Now let's go with more taco tons of green. So which will be the grain that you are you saying Excellent love Interco or any other DACA blue to create a darko cream on? Let's add more taco tones onto the background, just like how we added sap green under the light green background, dropping some darker tones and a very random manner on the color will spread into your background, creating more textures. You can also clean the shape of this irregular line at the middle on define it as you progress. Same goes for the other tiny mountain on the right side as well. Now let's go with more taco values of green. I'm going with the same Cruces were used in the technique section, so if you have tried it out earlier, this is going to be very easy for you. You can see how the mountain is taking shape when we add more and more taco tones. So for the base layer we abandoned with a flat wash off all of green, you can also use sap, brain or any green off your choice, as I mentioned earlier then I went in with a medium turn off green, and now I am going with the final tone, which is a much more Darko turn off green. As they have multiple tones on the mountain, you can see the kind of textures we have caught here. You can also see the contrast between the right side and the left side, as we have a much lighter tones on the right side on Darko tones on the left side. Now, if you want, you can add more medium tons of grain onto the right side to make it more defined, especially on to the outer shape off the mountain. Now I want to these lines at the bottom. I'm really loving how this is progressing, especially those green mountains. By now, you would have realized how much I love this color. It's really a great color to have any watercolor palette. All right, now, just like are we did in the practice section. I'm gonna add trees onto the surface of the mountain on also onto the bottom line. Very tiny trees. You just need to add lines close to each other, a different heights as the mountain is quite far from you and this is in the background. Your you shouldn't be adding to large and tall trees. If you do so, it will go out of proportion. So go to Britain and small lines. You can add as many trees as you want on over to the bottom line. You can make some trees, little Tarlow, go with any doctrine of cream and keep adding trees. So this is where I have read so far. You could see over to the left and I went in with much larger and bolder trees on over to the surface of the mountain. I went in with very thin and shorter trees go in a similar pattern. It is when you play with different heights. You have that sense of proportion in your painting, so make a trees shorter. As you go towards the horizon on the ones which are closer to you, you can make a little bigger, just like how I did on the left end. Now I'm going to add some more tiny trees in the background. I actually mistook click on my record button. That is why I wasn't able to show you how I add in the trees. So sorry for that. But it doesn't have very some. No way how would it on the practice section. So I think you guys will be okay even if you were able to see what I was doing for that little time. Just go with bigger trees on the bottom area, which is closer to you on over the surface of the mountain. Go with tiny lines like this Andi, those lines will represent the trees again. I'm so sorry. I didn't realize I haven't clicked on the record button. Such bulbs woman's are part of the game. Luckily, we have a technique section there. I have explained everything in detail. I'll quickly show you some most model trees just onto sofas off the mountain. You need to add tiny lines like this. If you have added your medium tunes, you can just follow those lines just like alighted on the other lighter part. All right, I think we have enough off trees on the mountain. Now let's paint the water. I'm adding an even called the water onto the bottom part to paint our water. I'm not adding water onto these lines. I'm quite afraid whether the color will smudge. So I'm leaving those areas closer to the mountain. Asset is I'm not adding any water there just onto the boredom part. I'm adding water now. I'm taking SAB green Andi areas closer to the mountain. I'm filling up with sap green. This is the reflection off the mountain. So we need a green tomb over these areas which will be the green that you used for your mountain. You can start with that color first. Now I'm switching to cobalt green. The last shed I added on my palette, I'm adding that closer to the green on mixing those two colors together. Such a gorgeous color. Right now I'm switching to turkey, eyes blue, adding that closer to cobalt green and filling up the remaining area blending those two colors together. So we have a nice greenish lake over there. Now, just onto the right end, I'm gonna add let lost paler blue to make it more brighter and intense. Just onto this area, I won't be adding deal a blow to any other places. Just a little over here. Now blend all the colors fell or right, So the water part is Dan. Now only the reflection is remaining. I'm taking SAB cream now. Add that along the bottom line off the mountain. Also, Adam lines towards the bottom that will make the reflection off. The trees continue to still the other end our background, the still, but so it is very easy to add the's color. It will automatically blend into the background, living a nice reflection now, going with a bit more dark coat on a screen, adding the deflection off the trees. Just had a tiny line from top to Porton on. Leave it free. Let that automatically blend into the background. Don't try to makes the clothes into the background. Using your brush, it might leave rough patches. You won't get a small to blend, so just go around the bottom line off your mountain and add lines like these variable you have a tree on. Leave it free. Let it blend by. It's all Andi, that's it. We're done with our third landscape. I'm really loving the combination off the screen mountains and the basal blue lake at the bottom. Here s a closer look. You can see how beautiful that reflection is Looking on, that is the magical wet on wet technique. You just need to add them into the wet background on. They will blend and merge into the background, living a beautiful reflection. The colors were used to some mean focus at this painting and also the reflection, we added. We have a nice to Christ blue sky and bright green mountains on the base to Blue Lake at the bottom. Give it a try and enjoy the process. I'm very sure you're going to love it.
16. Class Project 4: Hello everyone. I hope you are enjoying the class so far on Dhere, we are at our last class project. This one is going to be fairly easy. If you have tried the technique section, it is going to be a compile devotion of the 1st 2 mountains we have here. I will be adding all yellowish mountain in the background and on full ground I have a brown mountain and then I will be adding a reward which runs through the middle on. That said, that will be our painting. So let me quickly add the pencils Catch. I'm adding the first set off mountain which is going to be yellow and orange and tone now going with the second set off mountain which isn't before crowned, starting with the Charter Mountain now going with a taller one. Andi, I will end this bit with a tiny mountain on the right now adding the road in the minto on we have over repentance kits. Ready now that's tarred with the painting. I'm gonna start by applying an even coat of water onto the sky. You can go really with the paint. As for as the size of her paintings quite small. You will be able to manage even if you don't read the paper. I'm using Taylor blue for my sky. You can go with any blew off your childs. Andi, I'm going with the Grady in sky brighter on the top on as I prove list towards the bottom. I will be making it lighter just by adding water at a very simple Grady in sky, using a single color if you want to go with clouds or if you want to add a sensitive guy and that is totally up to you, take your brush. In a back and forth movement, we added a brighter tone at the top on using water. We're bringing the tone down on over to the bottom. We have a lighter tone off blue Onda we have about radiant sky. It ready now. Let's wait for that to dry. Then we will go in with the mountains. I was kind has completely dried. Now let's go with the mountain for the warning. The background. I will be going the yellow and orange tone for the yellow. I am losing a Loker go with a lighter tone, Oscar Loker or any other yellow that you're using. Now add Ralph washes of yellow in a very random manner. It doesn't need to be perfect. You can just drop in some paint here and there, some lines and some patterns and little scribbles. We need to create lot off textures on the mountain. You shouldn't be covering up the entire people white. We need to have a little wide caps in between. At this point, to your mountain might look messy, but that is absolutely OK once we add the dark Oh, don't. It will start to look really nice. So don't worry about the messy look you have at the moment. Now I'm switching to bond Sina in a similar way. How we added a yellow tones. I'm doing the same thing. Using Mancina, randomly applying some lines and strokes, go into the yellow background a cane. You shouldn't be filling up the anti over yellow background and also the paper. Why? To have left in between at Alliance and a very rough manner. Some of them can be try brushstrokes, so you will have a lot of different kind of textures on your mountain. All right, I think that looks quite nice. No, I'm going with a much more taco toe off brown on mixing paints, gray and Mancina, moving the excess water from my brush by jobbing on a people tell world now adding driver strokes onto the entire mountain as the same technique we tried earlier. Keep on adding dry brush patterns until you feel your mountain has got enough texture. I'm quite sure all if you will be able to paint this one and a very beautiful way as we're trying the mountains for the second time. So I have added enough of driver strokes onto the mountain. Now it's time to go with the taco tunes and add to find details. Again. I'm mixing plains. Cree on bond, bond, Xena together this time or plains, Cree and less Oban Sina as I wanted a much more taco toe, just like how we have added the final details on to this one. I will be going in a similar pattern on time, adding the darker tones onto the right side off these mountains. First start by defining that irregular line starting from the tip off the mountain. Then you can fill up that part you created using a taco turn off brown on As you hit the bottom, you need to leave your lines in a very attractive manner. You shouldn't be filling up until the bottom. Now I'm going to repeat the same thing onto the second mountain. In the middle, you can see how the darko tones are giving a realistic look to your mountain. The messy look is going away now. After you have created that patch on the right side, you need to add a little scribbles and broken lines as well, especially on to the left side off the mountain. Just a fuel random lines and make sure the lions you're adding as in a broken manner. It shouldn't be to take on bold. You could see the way I'm adding the lines. All of them are in a broken man. Oh, I'm not adding any continues line. Some areas you can add some taco sports on some broken lines go with a combination of thes . Now I'm hiding details under the mountain on the left side, just like how we did earlier. I'm adding some Darcos boards and some broken lines, and it is cripples, all right, so the background mountain has done now Let's go with the one on the full crowned, I will be going in a similar manner. First, add uneven. Could've born sinner onto the entire mountain. Just go with a flat wash. Follow the line. We have added on Philip the entire mountain in Bonn. Sina. Now, as you hit the bottom of the mountain, you need to switch to yellow walker on Philip. The remaining pardon yellow walker. Blend these colors together where they're meeting on the remaining part against him. Play Philip What Yellow Walker. Same goes with a mountain on the other end area, Loker plant Mancina on and a local together, and Philip the remaining part of the bottom in yellow Joker. No switch back to Bon Sina. We're going to add more textures onto the bottom part. Just drop in the bone seen out onto the yellow background as it is spread, it will bleed and create these kind of patterns. You just need to do this or what? To the bottom. You could see how I'm adding those dogs and little patterns onto yellow joker. As the background is bread, it is nicely planting with the background to leaving. Nice check shows now will be the same thing. Using a taco tone of brown, you can go with a variation of tools, some taco tone and some lighter tone, and create more and more texture at the bottom. The only thing is, you need to do this before your background try. So be a little quick on do it before your background completely tries. Otherwise, it won't blend and create these kind of patterns now, adding fuel onto the top portion as well. The garbage is closer to the mountain. Oh, right, so that's done. Now we need to add some medium tunes onto the mountain before we go with the final detail. So I'm using a brighter tone off Bernstein. So stem defined the sea lions at the same toe. Then I will have to meet him to want onto the entire mountain way. Have two different tones of brown on the mountain. Be venting with a lighter tone first. Then we added a medium turn off brown on. We created all this patterns here. Now let that dry. Then we'll come back with a much more taco toe on. We'll add the final details we'd won, the mountain dries. I'm going to add a lighter tone off painted grey onto the road, just fill up the entire mountain and now even wash of gray. Everything has completely dried. Now I'm creating a taco turn off brown, mixing bowl unseen on pain, scree going with more pains, great and less of Mancina to get a tone, which is much closer to black. On using this color, I'm going to add the final details onto the mountain, starting with defining the shape at the Santo, then simply filling up the patch using this darko tone off brown. This is the same process before load for the mountain on top. Start by defining the pattern of the middle, then Philip that para choosing a Darko tune, then add in some little patterns. In between, go with a broken line. You can see how realistic are mountainous looking when we are adding the Darko tunes. This is the reason why you have to play the different wounds We went in with the light to turn for the background washed. Then we added some textures, using a medium tone of brown on. Now we're going with a much more taco tune and added the final details and with all those details homogeneous, tricking, so realistic. Now it will be the same process for that tiny but on the left side, WeII done. And I guess by now you all are quite confident in painting your mountains. They're one of the most gorgeous element you can add to your watercolor paintings so you can use the same process on experiment with different colors and textures and composed it according to the color of the sky and the board off the painting that you want to create. Finally, just to make the road look little more Beto, I'm adding some taco tunes over this line on also onto the line on the top, just a thinner line of shadow to make the road look more defined. Andi, that's it. We are done with the fourth and final class project. Maybe I should try the same thing with Al Green. A mountain. You guys also could try the same thing in green are mountains or maybe snowy mountains. Internet brown. You could go with green oh mountains on Dhere. It's a final look off about painting. You can see the radius kind of textures we have got here
17. Bonus lesson - Ways to find inspiration: I often get questions from my students asking, How do I get inspiration for my paintings? How do I decide on a subject or a color competition? So in the section, I'm gonna take you through my ways, all finding inspiration from photographs. I never kind off copy a photograph 200%. I always try to get inspired by some colors or some subject on. I try to incorporate that in my paintings before I walk you through my process. Let's have a quick recap of the entire class, all right? So far, we tried quite a lot of exercises. We tried six different if he skies, then we gradually progress toe all day sky and also an easy sense. It sky. All of them were done using very limited clothes on. We also explored how you can use them in your pain tints. We tried similar ones in our class project. We also discussed how you can change the look off your sky by reducing the size and shape off your clouds on. Also, you can use different kind of colors to make it more dramatic. So they were quite a lot of things we discussed when people painting sky the same with mountains. We explored nine different types off mountains. The technique we used were quite similar, but we explored them and different clothes on, and we also discussed how different colors can bring different character to your painting. We started with a snowy mountain where we tried three different types of mountain, starting with an easy one. Then we gradually added more details onto it. On on the third born, we tried a little more realistic washing off a snowy mountain. Then we tried similar kind of mountains and green for the next set to be bent in with Mancina. We tried three different types of mountain in a brown tour. We went in with the same technique. It is just that we change the colors. We went in with a brown, orange and yellowish combination. So those were all the nine different types of mountains we tried along with sky and mountains. We also explore different type of trees, which can be used as your foreground elements. Now, what you see here is part of the exercise section from my class on moral chrome painting. If you have a little time, I would recommend you to try. That s for where I have explained how you can use a single color and just by using different tonal values how you can try to use different effects. This would also be agreed exercise for you to incorporate in your landscape paintings. So those were all the techniques and exercises be tried into this class, then, incorporating the same techniques. We tried four different landscape projects. Each of them were absolutely unique from one another. Now I'm gonna take you through my process. Are finding inspiration from photograph on real life elements. What you see is what inspired you the most. So just by looking around, you will get plenty of ideas. You just need to water sky, push the people around you with the nature on every little thing. So when it was, something inspires me. I quickly do accompanied sketch. This is one set sketch, mostly those rough pencil sketches with notes, which only I can understand. Sometimes that inspiration could be coming from a movie scene so quickly get set out on Adam notes about the Colosio would like to use this wake a building, a little pocket sketchbook, the next best way to get inspired is by looking at photographs. You can get plenty off amazing photographs from Google and Pinterest. Here in this photograph, you could clearly see how that shadow is visible along the border. Part of the cloud. We tried the same thing by adding paint agree. And here's a few more clouds, which you can get inspired from. Pick one from these and try to incorporate a subject off your own. You could add a meadow at the bottom, or maybe a tree or any subject off your choice. It is the same kind of exercise we did earlier. We tried a simple sky. Then we added a little off green patch at the bottom. In a similar way, you could try different subjects. It doesn't really need to be just a patch of greenery at the bottom, so the very first step is to get confident with your skies explored, different type of skies. Play with the colors, play with the size and pattern off the clouds on, get confident at it, then it is just a matter of agonised foreground subject. Here in this photograph, you could see how there is nice greenery on either side on there is a narrow, curvy part in the middle. You could uncover the same in your paintings. Here is another one. You just need to paint, agree? No patch of the bottom. Then you can add this. Friends. You can see how that little element is fighting a lot of character to the entire scene. So you just need to try a sky like how we tried earlier on at the green. Oh, patch with some more textures. And maybe you can add offense like this. Maybe some boats can sit on top of that friends. So this is how you get inspired from different photograph on compile them together. Here is another one where the whole focuses on a tree. So yah, explore everything around you and pick little elements from everything you see around. This is one quick technique we tried. We created a beautiful meadow using different tones of green. Now I'm gonna show you a few photographs where you can use the same technique by tweaking it a little bit. This is going to be one way how you can adapt what you alone on. Put it into a different subject so you can see this photograph here. It has a nice sunset sky and also that Greenoe Meadow At the bottom. Here is another photograph where you have a nice blue sky on a more browner and yellowish grass at the bottom. We already tried a simple sense. It sky on also be explored how to paint a quick meadow. Now imagine combining the sky and the meadow. The resulting painting will be much some illegible to see on the photograph on your right side. And this is exactly how you get inspired from photographs and incorporate the techniques you learned. Give it a try. I'm quite sure this is going to be a very nice competition with the scented sky and a nice greener meadow at the bottom. You can also use the lines in the street manner rather than keeping them inclined. Now this one, you have a sense It's guy and also a nice glowing yellow landscape at the bottom one. To have your sunset sky, you can pain the bottom with the grading abortions, yellow and brown, then splatter some brown into that to create more textures. Now, for this one cure, you just need to make the boredom landscape art and a brown and yellow company ship rather than going with the greener one. So you could try your Loker and bone seen our instead of the green on, then paint a nice blue sky and turned that into a beautiful painting. You can still combine that with the snowy mountain we have here so that you are not exactly copying the photograph. I will quickly show you a few more for the grass. Very can use the same technique which we used in the meadow. Here is one beautiful photograph where there is a sun glowing on the right end. Then you can just slowly take your landscape, starting with a yellow shade and turning that into a green as you progress towards the left end so that you are just replicating the glue that you have in the sky. Here is another one where you could combine the grain mountains on also the meadow be tried and maybe if you want, you can add these France s will on. If you are confident enough you can add those cow and cattle roaming around in their I really want to try this one with the third Green Mountain be tried, but I would be heading animals. I'm not very confident that that on Dhere is under one. You can see how the sunlight is sitting the landscape. You have some lighter streaks in between and remaining area. You have a medium torn off screen. You could try something in similar with the same technique we tried. Rather than adding too many lines, just go with two or three on. Make that potion lighter and the surrounding area go with a medium tone of green and create that line off sunlight for this one as well. You could try something similar. I'd like two lines to replicate the sunlight on. For the remaining area. Go with a medium on Darko. Turn off screen. There's the sound of the food of gravity of really light. You can combine the meadow and the green mountains. Be tried. It is a very easy one. You can use thes mountains on also the meadow. You can add some chilli EADiaz on to make it more interesting in a class project, we used these inclined kind of lines on the photographs we explored, or literally so how you can use those lines and different pattern you can use them straight or in a different uncle. Now let me quickly gets them for you. I have concluded them into three types. So the 1st 1 is similar to what we tried to go with any kind of subject. You draw your horizon line first, then at mountains or whatever you want on the 1st 1 we tried is this incline kind of lines . Now, on the 2nd 1 I'm again going to add a horizon line on some mountains in the background for this one. We're considering the horizon point to be at the middle. Now you can add lines which are converging to that point. So when you're using this type of lines in your painting, you apply an even coat of what forbid color you're using first, then argue lines in an inclined manner which meets at a point which is at the center. You can say photographs off Larrondo field and body field, similar toe this kind of arrangement. Now, on the last one, you just need toe add lines in the random irregular manner somewhat, um can be straight and some of them can be inclined. So here are three different times where you can use the same technique and create a different identity to your paintings. Now I'm gonna quickly show you how you can do the same landscape in yellow. I'm going with yellow joker. I'll start by adding a flat wash of yellow ocher just like her, which is the green. We went in with the light green first. Then we added medium and Dakota wants of green in a similar way. I'm starting with the yellow ocher on adding a flat wash of the sculler. You can use any yellow off your choice. If you want to go with the more brighter and pleasantly alot, you can use lemon yellow or gambles yellow. Now I'm going with orange and I'm adding those inclined lines. So this is the medium tune, which I'm using again. You can switch to any other color that you prefer. Maybe you can use vermillion trade or scholar trade, or you can directly go with a medium to one of brown. So I have added enough off orange in there. Now one switching to permanent brown on I'm repeating the same exercise, adding mood taco tunes towards the outer end of these lines here we're using the same technique. It is just that we're going with a yellow and brown competition just by changing the color . We have a different look for our landscape right now. So this is how you experiment, the techniques you learned using to friend Carlos. You can use this technique to paint a wheat field or paddy field are you can switch to a pink and purple competition on paint 11 to fill using the same technique. So there are quite a lot of things you can do with a single technique you learned you can change the clothes. You can change the pattern of the lines on, bring a total different look to your painting. So give it a try and explore different options. This painting here was my UNIDO vibrate. We tried into these class. We created an abstract floral meadow by splattering orange color onto the background we created. Now the same technique can be used in a little more detailed manner to create a much more beautiful meadow. This one was an abstract notion. Now, if you look at this picture, you can see how the floorboards have a nice shape and bright color. This is where you need to use a masking fluid to create a much more detailed emotional flowers. You need to sketch them first, then add masking fluid on top off it and wait for that to dry. Then you can create a similar background on once the masking fluid dries. Take that off on paying the flub ALS. Keep them a nice bright orange or any color that you prefer. You will find plenty off inspiration photographs from Google, but you can try with the same technique. You can either go with an abstract notion or you can go with the detail. Bushnell flowers just focus on the ones which are at the bottom. Then the Bagram ones can be an abstract worship. Here is few photographs, which you can use as a reference. You can play the different kind of mood for your painting. The spun as an even in sky with bright red flowers. Now this one is a very pleasant blue sky with the yellow landscape on and bright orange flowers, and here you have pink flowers, so the technique is all the scene. Try it over different colors, which complement your background and foreground. Now, finally, Let's have a look at some photographs. Fair. The whole focuses on mountains. We have tried nine different types of mountain. Let's see how we can get inspired by photographs and how we can adapt what we learned. This photograph here is a great example on how you can combine Ah, brown mountain on Green Mountain Together, you just need to go with a pale brown for the background mountain and for the bottom Green Mountain, you can use something simpler toe. The second when we tried here and here is on the one very can drill. Use the green Mountain. You can go with either the 1st 1 or the 3rd 1 we tried and also at a green meadow into partum. Same with this one. You can add some snowy mountains in the background on have a green mountain on the left side and also that landscape be tried by adding lines close to each other that could be tried on the right side, which is kind of similar to what you see in the photograph, and this is another beautiful for the grab. There you can try the pine trees and also the snowy mountain together. Now this one. Here is a clear example of how you can and at the technique we learned in the brown mountain, so the mountains we tried earlier has a lot of putting chill. It can be used in radius ways and your future paintings. You can go with Stewie ones. You can go with brown mountains. You can go what Green wants. Aspen, just by tweaking the color and tweaking the shape and combining them with different elements can bring a lot of character to your painting. So start building a sketchbook, paint and sketch everything that inspires you. It could be some kind of mountains. Some kind of trees are any other background or foreground elements. Don't worry about how good or bad your sketches are. Cable in your sketchbook. Scribble everything that inspires you. Your sketchbook doesn't need to be an artist. Great quality. You can go with any kind of sketchbook that have caught. You can add some color palette and maybe some burned out. Or some photographs, which inspires you. Just consider your sketchbook as an inspiration board. Very scribble on. Been up everything that inspires you. You can add some notes about the colors that you want to try? Trust me, this little sketchbook is going to be your best friend when you're confused about what to paint. I never liked the idea off. Recreating a photograph I always get inspired by the elements are the colors which I see in that particular photograph. And I tried to incorporate those elements in my painting rather than blindly copying what isn't there. This is a great exercise for your memory and brain. Aspar. Whenever I'm confused how to approach a painting, I just flip through my sketchbook on. My brain starts overflowing with so many ideas. I'm not kidding. I think you need to experience it by yourself, toe. Understand what I really mean? So take out a sketchbook today, scribble everything that inspires you if you get some photograph. But you want to try just to get onto your sketchbook country does a diary where you keep your secrets. So this is just for yourself. You can add all exercise as we try, and also, if any photograph inspired you, which I showed earlier, you can just get that also. But some notes about the colors and composition which you want to try This is going to be a great exercise. The one I'm showing here is not my actual sketchbook. The actual one is more Missy, which I don't share anywhere. This is just an example how you can add those rough sketches and notes. All right, so that's it. I guess you guys have got a little idea how to incorporate the elements you see around in your pendants. It's never too late to start building a sketchbook. And as we discussed, keep on adding everything that inspires you in your little sketchbook. It is going to be your best friend whenever you are in doubt.
