1. What's included - an introduction to the course and Sian: My name is shown. I'm from Manchester in the UK I'm a videographer, photographer and animator on din This Siris on going to be showing you how to use premium now a list about May I've been using Premiere Pro on the Adobe Creative suite for around six years now I've used Premiere Pro. Both Windows and Mac anglers were teaching you premiere pro on Mac today, but the commands or similar on Windows I did study filling media. However, everything I know within video has been self talk from the age of 14. So what makes me qualified to show you how to use Premiere pro and edit like a youtuber? I'm actually youtuber myself. I have been on the platform for around seven years now, which is quite daunting, but I've been making films and high quality videos for around five years. Now I have a masked over four million lifetime views across my channel and gained over 25,000 subscribers. Within this Siri's angles be teaching you a few things on. We're going to go all the way back to basics. Here is just a rough outline off what is included in this course because we all have a different understanding. A premiere pro. You might be a complete beginner or you might be on a different level skip to a video which you feel that you get the most value out off. I'll see you in the next video.
2. How to download Premiere Pro: Theo be showing you house get Premiere Pro. So let's jump in to it. You join me here on the Adobe Creative Cloud website, you need to actually sign up for Adobe prices and plans. Berry. Why a lot on a derby? However, I actually jumped straight in. Andi, I think, paid something like £16 a month for the whole creative cloud suite, which is extremely cheap. Compared to think it's 70 or £80 I'm not too sure, but sign up, get your account sorted, and then you need to download Creative Cloud onto your computer, which, if you come up to the top right hand corner, you will see a little cloud and you're basically find the APP store. But for Adobe programs, do you need to scroll down and find Premiere Pro and download it, which I have pretty much got every single program set from a few things. It will also download Media and Corder, which is basically your rendering engine. You'll learn more about that when we hit the 13th episode of this series. Now, if you're a bit off an artist like me, you might want to download photo shop. This integrates quite well into Premiere Pro and also after Effects, which is basically a video editor but for more virtuosic sorts of shots and animation. But why mainly just stick into Premiere Pro? You can download overs, though, as well, Like Audition. For example, the main apse that integrate into Premiere Pro is Adobe Audition on on Adobe After effects was these have downloaded and installed. Just go on, open up, Premiere Pro, Join me in the next video, where I'm Going to give you a guided tour off Premiere Pro.
3. How to locate around the layout of Premiere Pro: in this video, I'm going to be showing you around. Premiere Pro. Let's hope so. Premiere Pro is just loading up now, but when you load a premiere pro, you agree Teoh with basically the home page. So I'm just gonna go ahead and click New Project on, then give it a good name. So let's just do test. Browse now, always be mindful where you're saving your your actual premier profiles. I prefer to save them onto a hard drive because the internal storage on Matt Books is terrible, so I'm just going to stick it in my personal folder. Choose now, if you go along to scratch disks when you open up, Premiere Pro Thes won't actually be like this. It leaders say Documents. I'll have some costume one now. I just prefer to have all the scratch disk data in the same place as my actual premier profile, because then if you're sending it over to someone you know exactly where it is. Send all those files over and the footage included in it. My laptop is really taken after on it just makes life so much easier. So we'll go ahead and click OK, and you're greeted with this blank canvas. Actually, no usually greeted with this. This is what you'll be greasy breads, and it'll have whatever beside. But let's just go into assembly first and stripping old backs of the basics so it's not too overwhelming. As you gathered, you can talk all between different work spaces. We'll put the top here. The main ones that I use is actually assembly. Editing and color are editing color and effects don't really use the rest of them. But let's just keep it simple for now. Let's keep on assembly. So, as you can see here, this is your little tool bar on. Of course, you can't actually do anything with it yet because we haven't imported any footage, which will go through the next video. So if we go to the left here and you'll see projects, this is where you'll invite your media and all your files will sit here for your actual Project. Media browser is so it's similar to project set project You actually, in part with media browser, you can go through obviously all of your files on your computer markers, just not to overcomplicate anything. Marcus is just something that you reduce. If you were trying to organize your footage, we had a lot of salt aging needed to organize it a bit better. Then, if you go down to the bottom on, we might just have to pull this out. These are all your different ways of viewing your content. So, for example, you can even see in a list of you or in like big icon views on how you're going to arrange your content and so on. Join me in the next video, where I'm going to be showing you how to optimize your project settings for each project.
4. Getting started - Using the correct project settings for a YouTube video: think video and going to be showing you how to optimize your project settings. Let's jump into it. Okay, Now that we actually have a say file a natural document, we can go ahead and import some footage. You can do this 103 ways. You can go file in part, bacon double clicked in the project files. Or you could do the shock off command. I slash control. No. Command control. Yeah. Control I on your windows laptop slash computer. I'm just going to try and find some generic footage now. I haven't actually pulled this up yet. So, for example, there's a good range of footage here, the area. So I've got a range of files which is now important on your Stephen. Drop on to the left in sight. Now, as I said in the previous video, you can if you got a lot of footage, you can toggle into different views, but I prefer to have it in a thumbnail view. We're going to have to create sequence. You can either do file new sequence or you can do command end for new on. I'm just going to call this a role. A rolls in terms of settings. I know that this first, each hairs all filmed in 60 frames per second, you might want to click on 60 frames here. These are all the settings for the preset that you just selected. However, I don't really touch these unless I'm doing something really specific, whether it's a square instagram pose, for example, or from using VR video. So that's why I'm way making new sequence. But you're not sure what frames per second your footage is. You can simply just drag and drop onto the sequence area. Join me in the next video, where I'm going to show you the work flows and ways you can organize your a roll footage.
5. How to organise A-roll footage: this'll video and Grimsby showing you how to organize and preview your a role. Voltage. If you don't know what a role footage is, it is just like me speaking to the camera. Now, this is a role because we're looking at a role in this video. I'm going to show you a way off. Looking through your April on placing it into a sequence is just gonna lay all out like when you do a jigsaw. You've got all your pieces laid out for you. This is what we're doing now. Essentially. So there's two ways of looking through your thoughts. If you can eat the dragon, drop into the timeline. I use this little total thing to zoom in here. And then if you hover over the white lines, you can drag to make the audio listen bigger on, then use C on your keyboard. Just a court up. I'm just gonna mute that for now because it would be quite annoying from scrubbing through footage, so I probably want a corset around there. So from there I just use the short cuts on my keyboard. C and D. C is the cutting tool like the I think It's a razor blade, actually. And then he goes back to normal where your cursory is on. Then if you go right to the edge off the clip, you can essentially just drag it around. And then instead of MoveOn each clip individually, you can just click in the white space. It'll highlight it backspace, and it moves your whole cottage down. But I don't like lips. I'm just gonna get rid of it. Another way off. Doing this is, while quite loosely is actually, if you go back into your footage, you can double click on the click, and then you can actually watch it up at the top. Now, how are you going to get this down to into your sequence is that you highlight in and out. This only really works. If you've got sort of short clips that you know, you're just gonna trim the ends off. So, for example, I'm just going to click I fit in on. Then I want to come out here. So I've got that selected there, and I'm going to place it into the timeline by clicking comma on. It will just appear in my timeline on It's the same again. If you want to add more footage in out drop, what to do? The more intricate weight of editing. I simply just cooked, like so going to speak this up now? Okay, so I made some simple courts there on this is all basically a roll of me just talking to the camera. That not necessarily that clip there. But you get the idea of how to chop Andi move footage around. Join me in the next video where I'm going to be showing you how to preview and edit your B roll footage.
6. How to organise B-roll footage: this'll video, I'm going to be showing you how to preview and edit your B roll footage. B roll footage is the silky smooth gliding shops or cinematic shots. You might describe the mouse and this is how to organize them and edit them into a timeline . If we make a new sequence and call it, be room so command and then type in. I know for a fact that this is B roll here because it's not me. It's the camera, like in the a roll. I'm going to scrub through the footage and find a perfect place for I want to come in on. Then I want to come out here, so click Oh, and then placed into the timeline. I'm gonna repeat this for the next few clips, which I'm gonna speed up, and then I will going to more intricate details of it. Okay, so I've got my B roll down into my sequence now. Just gonna meet that so it doesn't do our heads in as I'm scrubbing through. So if I just play it now, the A's kind and I just make sure that it's all the footage that I could want, which Yeah, it is. Once I have all my b roll into timeline, I'm going to move on. Aunt, think off a way that I can put all of my footage together. You can put a rough plan together by if you just write it down of how you're going to compose this It to make a compelling story are just pull it together. Some people just sit down and go right. Put this in this in this But I prefer just right over plan. So I'm not stressing out as I'm doing as I go along. Join me in the next video where I'm going to be talking about everything. Music slash soundtrack for your videos.
7. How to source music for your YouTube videos: on. Welcome to the music segment. Using soundtrack music in your video can take it to the next level. I'm going to go through three different options you could use to social music video YouTube videos, The first being epidemic sound. I've left a link for epidemic sound down in the description if you want to try out. Epidemic sound was the second ever music library that I have ever used its around £10 a month on 9 99 or something like that, and it has a vast range of soundtracks available for you to download. The best thing about epidemic sound is that they have sound effects that you can download as well with your subscription, and you can also download the individual stems off track. So say, if you just wanted the percussion drums, you can download that individual stem and your timeline. The next sound library that I use is music bed music. Bed, I have to say, is my favorite out of epidemic sound. Andi Bed. They have a much better range of sort of modern songs, which I like to use in my videos. However, epidemic sounds like a bit more corporate hand flappy sort of sounds. Music bed is just £14 a month, which is a bit more expensive than epidemic Sound, however, for how many tracks you have access to on can use in your channel is unlimited for your four month on. They clear old copyright strikes so you can monetize your content. Now if you don't have a budget at all, that's fine. You can use the YouTube sound library If you go through, you might hear a few familiar sounding tracks, and that's because back in the day of so L. A. And Alfie days and everything basically, we all used to use YouTube Sound Library. They do update tracks as much as possible. However, it's free. You get what you pay for, which, to be honest is amazing. Tell you you can also get sound effects on the Chip Sound library book. They're just not as good as epidemic sound. So which one would I recommend? Value for money Epidemic sound. My YouTube network actually pay for my subscription with epidemic sounds, so I don't pay a thing. However, I do pay the faulty pounds a month music bed a legal to you, which one you want to use. Join me in the next video where I show you how to get everything into your final composition on Put together, ready to explode.
8. Creating a final composition - A&B roll: I think this video we're going to be composed in a role and b roll into the final composition. Once you have selected your sound that you want to use in your composition, you can go ahead and import them. I'm going to do command and I to import. Or you can simply just do Dragon drop. I want to use this one drug on drop in unsorted. I'm going to make a new composition and call it Final A and B roll. Andi, I am going to roughly bring my clips over from my different compositions that I have here on Put it into my final one example. I want to open the video with a role. So I'm simply going to copy and paste over the footage. So command CR control, see? Click onto your final A and B roll and then paste, which is command the Divya Andi. I'm going to do the same with the rest of the footage. If you want to have all of these highlighted and sent over, you can simply just highlight them. Come and see he wants. Move your curses. The end of the clip you can toggle between your left right, Open down keys to go back. One key frame you do left forward. One key framing go right. But if you want to go directly on the cuts of thes highlighted, um, tracks here just simply go up or down. So paste comes in. So, me talking to the camera and then I think in between thes I want to include my liberal. So I'm gonna click on to be room, and I'm thinking that we could use the clip off going onto the plane. Okay, so I want to use thes two first. I'm just gonna highlight control. See, go over to final B roll and then use my keys just to locate back and copy paste them in. Now, I know that on this clip, I haven't need to know of it, so I can actually just drag it back out a bit. I am them going to move this over now. I don't want any sound on these parts cause I'm gonna put some music over it, so I'm gonna do command l Which on links your faucet from its audio so you can essentially move them as two tracks that aren't together. I'm just gonna do backspace to delete that. And then right, that's my a role. So go back into the room. This one final locate back. Um, Link. See, I really only used the whole of this clip, but it's a bit too long, so I am actually going to drag this up and you can see this Align the spine above her. This is actually the opacity. So how much you can see off the clips if they drag it down a bit? And then if I, for example, port drug, put me underneath it, you can put two clips like that together, so that's what capacity is. But I don't want to do it that I want to speed it up now I can speed it up in one of two ways. I can simply just use our on my keyboard. Oh, I can click in the sidebar here. So are my keyboard and then go to the end of the clip on Just struck it in essentially what it does its speed up the click a lot more than what it wa. So I just want to make it a bit faster. However, I am just going to stretch this back out again because there is another way of doing it. If you wanted to play at 100% and then speed up slowly 220 or 300% of whatever you couldn't , right, click or double click. If you're on a Mac, go open clip key frames So that the line here this is essentially what showing Now, see, be low capacity that's turned on. You want to go in time, remapping and then speed on it just changes. This'll line here essentially on. What I want to do is that when it gets here, I want to make it faster. So I'm gonna hold down command and then put a key frame on that and make sure you got command. Otherwise, you're it doesn't talk about it. It's a command key frame. And then I'm gonna drag this line up like so on. If we played back suddenly goes fast, but I don't want it suddenly give fast. I wanted to eventually get faster, so I'm going to just move thes lines and it creates that nice slope. So a gradual increase in speed, like so that's how you do you speed changes. If you filmed some sort of time lapse going to be role again on Oh, I like this son. Some right shot. So cocky paste Andi, this bit is actually found on a GoPro anyway, so it's actually a some rise that's already been filled again. I want to speed it up a bit more because the inbuilt GoPro set things. Just don't those fasters But I'd like So there we have The sun's getting bright, bright, brighter, perfect. And I just want to cut it here, actually, So I'm gonna drug in the end, all I'm going to use seat on the keyboard and cut it. So let that delete it. And then I am just going to do the same here. I'm going to on link it. So command l on. Then click on that click. Are my keyboard unjust? Speed it up a bit. So it's not was boring to watch and it's faster, you know, highlight it. Click back now I want to add music, so I'm going to drag and drop this in here. If we listen to it back, though, it's gonna be loud now. But turn it down a bit. The music's way too loud similar to the capacity line on the speed ramp line. This is actually how loud or quiet track it's you can drag it open down on. I'm just gonna find the right moment, Okay? So as it goes into that time lapse, then I won't the soundtrack to go louder. So similar to the time ramp, I'm gonna click command on the keyboard. Just drop to. So this is going to make the bit louder. Drive the old. Now you listen back. It naturally does. Get out. I might just drug out a bit longer. There we are. And now it's going to speed up. This soundtrack is actually from, um, music bed. See, I think this one should speed up a bit sooner, and then I'm just once believed that empty space there. Okay, so we're going to go back into speaking territory again now. Gonna make it quieter by cooking, commander my keyboard on, then clicking on the lines. Create to the dots, drag it down. It's the same with this one. It's gonna be quite abrupt. So Jeff is going to create a little crescendo so it isn't in your face, and I'm just gonna drag it down a bit, a bit loud, and then have it fade out on Friday, The our the So that is essentially my A and B roll edited together. Join me in the next video where I'm going to be showing you how to compose your final edit for just a role.
9. Creating a final composition - A-roll: this'll video and going to be showing you how to compose your faucet together into a final composition. So if you want to make YouTube videos where your just sat in front of the camera and you want it cut up like this to this show, this is really simple to do. Let's head over on, have a look at a role editing. So I have all of my a role here. We won't play it back because it's just nonsense at the moment, something that I picked up out of thin air. Now what stresses me out the most is that it's not equal. So I'm just gonna have this line here drug, and then I can see the audio files a little better because what I'm going to do, so I'm going to import a soundtrack. Now. This soundtrack isn't right for this specific video. However, I'm just gonna quieted it down, or you can use the close bracket. What I say. Just Teoh make it quieter. All these dead spaces. When I am speaking, I want to cut those out because I want it to flow a bit better. So I used to see on the keyboard than to use the cutting Kartal back on to be selected. The area that I don't want delete it and then slept the area just clicking back on it on, then the backward. Same again. I want to have this late this middle part highlight it, then back. And so that's how simple it is, really say, if I say something funny in this clear a lot of YouTubers for comedic effect, we'll put a little zoom on it, which I will show you all how to use the sex part one of the next videos. So don't worry about that may put in the music and that's it. That's how easy and simple is just to edit a roll on. To be honest, the more it flows, the longer attention you're going to get. So the longer people agreed to watch your videos far join me in the next video, where I'm going to be showing you how to add effects onto your video
10. How to add effects onto your YouTube video: welcome to this video and Grimsby showing you how to add effects into your composition to take your video for the next level. I'm gonna talk you through the effects panel now on. If we go all the way up to the top and go along effects in these individual folders, you know the different effects that you can use those presets that you can use, which I don't really use. These presets, it all but video effects. I do now say I have a short hair that's really, really well blue, but I know that could be better. I'm going to use something called warp stabilizer and this just stabilizes the actual shop . So what I did there is I clicked on it, drugged and dropped on. Select puts it on the select eclipse that I would like it to stabilize. Now, if you look over here on the left hand side, you can see that it's actually analyzing the clip to see how the effects can stabilize. Now, this could range are especially which computing use in some computers. Just stay away from what stabilizer because they won't be able to process it. However, this computers completely find it's the new 16 inch metal pro. It shouldn't take too long unless you're doing like a three minute video that needs stabilising. But I essentially on the do for little clips because it just kill your computer of the white. Okay, so now this is stable, stabilized if we just watch it back. There's a lot of installation on here, which is flexible, but I won't show you in this video. It still is quite stabilized anyway, because the inbuilt stabilization on this camera that filmed on it is actually quite good. You can also play around with all of these settings. I usually do preserve scale so you don't lose all of the image on then. If it doesn't need stabilising lots, I can just drag it down a little bit, and it just takes out little bobbles. Now, if you want to be a classic YouTube, you can use the distort panel and then use mirror. Now, what Mary does is what mirror say's just drag and drop that onto the clip. You just play around with the mirror, essentially with the actual effect on DSI what you can do with it. A lot of people use these for comedic effect. And yet all I can recommend is that you go through the effects on just see what each one does. So say it once here to zoom, ed, create a zoom effect of slowly Zoom in ed like so are you. It is even out you Essentially. So goes the effects top of the top. And then you will have all your options down the side here on what it does between those two key France's that it slowly animates it. Andi transitions it Joe me in the next video, where England's be showing, you have to color correct your footage.
11. How to colour correct your YouTube video: think video. I'm going to be showing you how to color. Correct your footage. Let's get into it. Oh, every clip you capture on your camera or phone will be perfect. And this is why we have color correction a song as it's not completely under exposed and over exposed meaning it's too bright to dark. You should be okay to color. Correct it. Now, what I do is just tuggle along to the color tab on. I want to call a crack this first. Now, there's not a lot wrong with this clip. Actually, I might make it a little bit cooler if I wanted to get across that It it was cold outside, but it wasn't, You know, I was in Bali at this point, so I actually just gonna leave it on the same road. Um, I am going to bring the tent a bit, download to green so you can take away from the sweaty nuts off May. There's nothing in light, magically overexposed or under exposed in this clip. So I'm just gonna bring the white silk just to create a bit of contrast and then bring the blacks down. So the difference between the clips is a massive basic correction, and that's how you use it. And then you might want to actually put a creative lot on all off these clips to make it look rt wherever. So what you need to do is you need to go down and click on. So it's highlighted at your project files quicker to file no and then adjustment layer. Essentially, why we use an adjustment layer is number one. It just saves time on it actually saves your process er as well, for some reason, the normal to show how so gonna drag and drop onto a new track And I'm just going to pull it all the way out. You need to select the adjustment layer and click on creative, and you can actually go through. See, I have lots of third party looks installed ones I've actually bought. But I know for a fact that these here are the ones that are in built, so I'm going to click on the look. You can actually use the arrows to toggle through them, so that looks nice. So you just click on the middle off it. You can do one or two things to decrease the intensity. You can simply druggie open down. But I like to leave this on 100% and then adjustment layer. I like to come over here, just click on the toggle animation off, and I like to reduce it down to 50% or whatever. Just reducing the capacity of the adjustment. Liars is how I prefer to do it. But you can do it Either way. There's no right or wrong way of doing it. And yeah, that's how you basically apply fancy filters to video. Join me in the next video, where I'm going to be talking everything about sound. See that?
12. How to add edit sound and add effects onto audio: think video and we'll be showing you how to do everything around sound changing the loudness slash dynamics off a search and clip on making things flow smoothly. Even into this video, I'm gonna be talking about sound and sort of simple sound design things that you can do. We've covers how to make things loud and quiet in the last few videos by just literally drag in this line here. However, if you got a say in the background of something and you got something quite annoying and you want to just get rid of it, go into your effects tab down here and then into audio effects. This is where you can get fancy with all of your audio. So noise reduction, you can remove a click from a piece of audio. So say, if you had something that let your fire alarm battery needs changing. It's just in the background annoying a. D Homa. So what I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna drag the d Hama onto my clip. That's a drag and drop scroll down onto audio on. Thank you can actually I'm not going to go through. This is actually quite advanced stuff, but This is just so you get the idea of how to add. So I'm just gonna add a simple notch filter onto a certain frequency. So if we actually just play that he's west, the home is on. Basically, it'll just get rid of the home. That's how you add audio effects. Join me in the next and final video where I am going to be showing you how to export your video.
13. Exporting your video ready to upload to YouTube: final video in this series, I'm going to be showing you how to export your final edit ready to upload to YouTube. So now we've got projects that we want to. We want to export it. We want to make it into a natural video. A few ways of doing this we could do command em. Which its command media. That's what it stands for. Something like that. Um, are you can do file on then export media. I just prefer to you short cuts because it it saves a lot of time. So output name. You can click on that on you can change all. So I'm just gonna put in personal A and B roll safe Andi thes are actually all of your settings to the two ways off exporting. You can export through Adobe Media Encoder or you can export through Premiere Pro. I prefer to export through the adobe media card because it's a specific program just for exporting on, and I find it a lot more powerful and quicker, but you can export through a premiere pro. The only downside that say through export permit is longer. You do end up having bigger file sizes especially if you're uploading to YouTube. You saw one smaller file sizes. Otherwise YouTube is going to compress the hell out of that video, make it look awful to export through Premiere Pro. If you didn't download Media and Carter should have downloaded anyway on you just actually click export after this. Obviously, you can add on YouTube to native andan export with preset, which is specific YouTube, which I'm not going to do. I'm going to export it through media encoder. So I'm gonna quit. Q. Now, it does take a little bit of time to get it over for obviously if the program used to open right. So this is a completely different program to Premier pro on. What it will do is essentially it's going Teoh, render your sequence that you want to export. Now, what I do for specifically YouTube is that I need to close all these system presets. Andi Theun go down to Web video Social media scroll down to YouTube 10 80 full HD obviously dependent on what set in June brought in birth to your sequence. So all you do is just hold onto that drag on, then dropped onto that on it will put sets in zones with and then just quick, the play button in the corner. The best thing about media encoder compared to Premier Pro is that media encoder actually shows you a preview of what? Where it's up to. Where is you? Only get essentially a line in Premiere Pro to show you how long was left. As you can see, it would take a lot longer in Premiere Pro. Once this has finished rendering a video ready to upload to YouTube. If you've enjoyed this, Siri's please, I don't know what you do. Give us thumbs up. Subscribe. I don't know if you would like me to do another. Siri's just coming down below, and I will read it. If you have any recommendations for what you want me to teach you also coming down below. Andi happy creating, I guess
