fire fight that will let you create detailed vectographics
using simple prompts. You'll learn how to
control colors and add elements to
your compositions, enhancing the dynamism
of your designs. Then we're going to also
touch on text effects. We're going to create
impressive text effects from simple prompts. We're going to experiment with various styles and integrate them into graphics
for posters, flyers, presentations, logos,
social media content, and even more to boost
your creative output. Hroughou this journey, we will not just use Adobe firefly, we also incorporate elements
of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and
Adobe express to leverage the full spectrum of features
offered by Adobe firefly. Each module includes
an assignment to apply what you learned, ensuring that you
continue to create and innovate why you actually
progress through this course. Are you ready to unlock the
incredible potential of your artistic talent
with Adobe firefly? So let's get started and see
where this journey takes us.
2. Class Project: Hello, there. I just
wanted to remind you that this course is packed
full of information, is quite extensive, and
we're going to cover lots of tips and tricks
about Adobe firefly. But we're not just
covering the web app. We're going to
cover also some of the aspect of it
within Illustrator, within Photoshop
and Adobe Express. My suggestion is, do the assignments when you
find them along the class. You should be able to see them at the end of each section. Make sure you
publish at least one of them in the project
section here in Skills, at least the one that
you're most proud of, and I'm really looking forward to see what you do with them. I'll see you in the next class. When we're going
to start to learn how to use firefly. Okay.
3. Understanding Adobe FireFly: Hello, and welcome. In
this brief presentation, I'm going to answer
five main questions. What is Adobe firefly? What is useful,
where to find it, if it's free or not, and
why Firefly is so unique. Well, the first question is
taken from Adobe website. Adobe firefly is a standalone
generative AI web app that introduces new
methods for ideation, creation, and communication,
greatly enhancing creative workflows with
generative AI technology. In other words, Adobe
Firefly is a web app. The uses AI to help you come up with ideas and create
stuff more easily. It's designed to make your
creative projects flow better and faster by
leveraging the power of AI. What are the uses
of a Dobby firefly? Well, one of them would
be brainstorming. You can quickly generate up to four ideas or
more than four ideas in a matter of seconds or discover new unexpected perspective
within firefly, just by typing simple prompts. By creating assets, so you can enter a description
of what you want and watch firefly
instantly creates digital assets for you that you can use
commercially as well. Project updates. For instance, if you want to amend a project
or an image for a client, perhaps altering a background or changing a style from a logo, you can simply do that
by using firefly and typing simple prompts or
anancement and edits. For instance, you want
to enhance your editing with firefly in Photoshop
or Illustrator, removing unwanted elements
or more effectively than content aware fill or
perhaps dynamically recolor icons based on
feedback in AB illustrator. One of the many features that
we can take advantage from Adobe Firefly is removing
elements in images. I photos, they have very
little source material. What I mean by that is this. Let's say we have a
picture of me here with my friends that we took in
Shangela China many years ago. We would take a photo
with a local person every time we have to
commemorate a visit to a, a special place, and this time
we couldn't manage to take photos singularly with a local person, only
a group follow. Now, if I wanted to
remove from the equation, my friends here, not
that I don't like them, but let's say I want to try to remove them
from the picture, it would have taken me
probably 2-3 hours to do that. And the reason is
the way you would approach cloning
within photoshop, it would have taken me
considerably long time. First of all,
because I don't have enough material here to clone. Same thing on this area here
and the flooring as well. I wouldn't have been
a good job either to look at because I don't have
enough source material. But now with the Dobby firefly, I could achieve something like this with a single
click of a button. This took me literally
1 minute to do. Just the time to highlight the subject within the
photo and press generate. And this is absolutely
mind boggling. The amount of time
that now we save with generative AI is significant, and we cannot underestimate
this tool nowadays. Now, where can you
find Adobe firefly? You can use it by visiting this website, firefly adobe.com. Or if you are a subscriber, you can go to Adobe
Cloud app on your PC or Mac and access to Adobe
firefly directly from there, which is going to lead
you to the website and you can actually
use it directly there. Adobe firefly is web based, so lives on the web and you can only access by
going to the browser. But there are also
other ways you can access to some
of the features in Adobe firefly directly
using adobe express. So we have text to
image and text effects that we can use directly there. In adobbitop we can create
text to image feature. But also we can
use this locally. We can use Photoshop, and we can benefit from generative feel and
generative expand, which are from Adobe firefly. Also in Illustrator, if you want to use generative
recolor feature, we can definitely use it
directly on our local computer. Bear in mind, though,
if you want to use Photoshop and Illustrator and take advantage of
AdobbiFifly features, we need to be connected
to the Internet. Now, is Firefly free. Now, WiFirefly is free up
to 25 credits a month, so you can create
a free account, but this is the
limit that you have. Now, if you have any
subscriptions with Adobe Cloud, you can have from a few hundred to a few thousand
credits a month. Now, I have an Adobe
subscription that allows me to access to all the apps
within the Adobe ecosystem, and it gives me up to
1,000 credits a month. As you can see here, if I go
to Adobe firefly website, on the top right corner,
you have an icon. You can click on the icon there. And you can actually
see your account name, and down below here, you'll see the monthly generative
credits that you have left. Now, how do the credits work? So one prompt is
equal to one credit, and each prompt will generate four different variations or four different images
with the same prompt. So ear in mind that you
have four variations, and it only costs
you one credit. Now, if you want
to find out more about Adobe Firefly
and its features, if you watch this in the future, please visit Adobe Firefly
Help page for latest info. Now, why Firefly is so unique. Firefly is unique because
it's safe for commercial use. And that means whatever you
generate within firefly, whether you create
a color palette, whether you recolor an artwork, whether you create an image or a composition or
an illustration, it's free for commercial use. And the reason why is that
is because Adobe Firefly is trained purely on the
Adobe stock archive, which has more than 300
million curated images. Within the Adobe
environment is also trained on images with no copyrights
and no royalties, but it is also trained on images which copyrights
have expired. So you have a plethora
of archives of images of illustrations of material and database that you
can benefit from, and you can use it
for commercial use. Another factor that we need to consider is that
Adobe is committed in preventing harm and bias
using generative AI tools. And what that means is
if you're trying to create an image using a famous character
description or using a famous name or a famous brand
or a notorious character, a won't know what
that character is. For instance, if you're
trying to recreate Spider Man into an illustration, Fireflight doesn't know who Spider Man is and what sex is, if it's male, if it's female, what ethnicity is, what color is, it
doesn't know anything. It will interpret your
prompt according to the description rather than
the famous character name. For instance, if you're
trying to create a picture of Queen Elsa from
Frozen playing a piano, it will actually create
Elsa from Frozen, which is Clay referencing
from a Disney movie, but it will create
something similar. Now, it will grasp some of the elements from my
prompt, for instance, the word frozen and the word playing piano
and the word queen, and it will try to represent
something of that sort. But nothing has to do with frozen and quid Queen
Elsa from Disney. Another example would
be this Indiana Jones in lost ancient ruins in
the middle of a jungle. Now, as you can see, I've got four different
jungle ancient ruins with no character whatsoever. So here also gives me this
little warning saying one or more words may not meet user guidelines
and were removed. So it basically doesn't
know about Indiana Jones. It doesn't know about
Elsa from frozen. It doesn't know about
famous characters as well. It will give you always various diversified
solutions for your prompt, which makes it very
safe to use with no worries about any
copyright infringement. So now that we have
a good understanding of what Adobe firefly is, let's get started
with the class.
4. Overview of Text to Image: So before we get started, I just want to give
you a quick overview of Dobbie firefly website. So the first things
we're going to do, we go into firefly
dot a dobby.com. And this is how the page looks like at the time
of this recording. We have a section on
the very top here left, which allows us
to browse between home community favorites
about and help. On the top right corner, we have the option to log in. So if you have your
account already logedin, Please do so by clicking
on this icon here, when you click on it, and we'll show you your name
and your account. So make sure you are logged in. Then we have this bar here
in the center of the page, which allows us to type a prompt to create an image
to generate an image. But before we do that, I'm
going to just scroll down, show you other
features that we have available now in a W firefly. We have the first section here, which is going to show
you all new features. At the moment, you
have one coming soon, which is a generative
audio and video, edit your audio
and video content with firefly. Very exciting. I'm looking forward to see
that feature coming soon. We have a new feature
here and we can try, which is structure reference. I'm going to cover
that later on. Then we have these
other features that we can use right
away with firefly, which is text to image, you can generate images
using a prompt text. Then we have generative feel, which is a relatively
new feature not just in Adobe firefly,
but also in photoshop. But if you don't
have a photoshop, you can take advantage of
this using Adobe firefly. Then we have also
generate templates. You can generate
templates using text. This is an amazing
feature as well. We can try in a Dobbie express. Then we have generate a vector. This is done within
Adobe Illustrator, generative free color, and also we have text effect, which we can try in
Adobe express as well. If you scroll down
here, you can see all the generated images of the communities or
people share and publish their own work here and
you can do the same. You can explore any
of this if you're curious to know how
they actually did it. You just hover the cursor over any of these images and you can see a little prompt how the image is being
created, essentially. You can also browse
the community gallery by going to view
community gallery. Here you can explore all the
different the latest artwork as well as some video from social media where people share their experience
with Adobe, firefly, and other
Adobe products, which is pretty exciting. It gives you some
inspiration and some more ideas or creating art. You can actually explore any of these images and you can amend them by using
your own prompt. But let's go into our
home here on top left. We're going to go down
here and I'm going to click on text to image. Now that way here, we
can actually explore all the other artwork. And my suggestion is to just
use this as a reference. If you like one of this image, you can click on the
image and you can see what settings the
users have used. So for instance, down here, you can see the prompt, and this is the prompt to
generate this image. And you can also see
on the side bar here, what model is being
used, what aspect ratio, what filters, et cetera,
et cetera styles, and all the things
that all the effects as well that we're going
to cover in this class. My suggestion is, try them out, perhaps change some
of the prompts here to experiment
different results. But otherwise, you
just go back here on the top left under
text to image, and we are now ready to generate our own image by just clicking
on the prompt area here, and that's what we're going
to do in the next video.
5. Create your first image: Okay, now we are ready to
type our first prompt. Now we're going to go here,
and we're going to type a mag of coffee. Now I'm going to go
into generate here and the blue button, bottom corner. And now we're going to
see the firefight layout. It's going to
generate four images for each of your prompts,
but do not worry. It only cost you one credit
for each generation. So that is a good news. Now, as you can see, I've
got here four images. Let's explore this and
choose a one that we like. Quite like the steam here with a little bit of
cinnamon on the side, quite like the greenery
in the background. So quite nice. But
it's a very simple, very simplistic prompt, but we can actually
make the prompt a little bit more interesting to get a little bit better results. So let's say I'm going
to go down here. And I'm going to
use a mac of coffee on a wooden table
in a living room. And let's see. And
as you can see, when I type my prompt, I've got some
suggestions here on top that can give me some
ideas, for instance, with an nice cold water, with an empty white wall, with an orange warm plate. I'm going to just
leave it as it is and just press generate. By the way, you can remove
those suggestions by just switching this
little switch off. Next to the generate button.
I'm going to leave them on. It's good to have some
inspiration from firefly. As you can see now, I've
got a wooden table. I've got a living room
in the background, quite like the greenery, you've got as well
in the background, makes the ambience
more cozy, more warm. But let's say I want to
even expand this prompt, and let's be even more specific. A mago coffee on a wooden
table in the living room with a C with a C view. Through a large window, and I'm going to
just press generate. And by the way, when you do these iterations and you
want to keep the image, I'll suggest you
to save the image, but I'm going to show
you how to do that. So for instance, now that
I created this image, let's say I'm happy with the image number
four, this one here. When I have the curse
over the image, I can do a bunch of things. As you can see, I've got
this icon popping up, One other thing you
can do here down below is to rate the results. If you like the results, you
can just give it a us up, so you help Adobe to make
firefly even better. Also you can leave
some feedback as well. By doing that, you can just specify what things you
liked about the prompt. I'm going to just leave
it blank for now. Other things you can do, you can of course download the image, and you also can mark
that as a favorite. So I can click on the favorite, and it will save it into my favorite section in my
Adobe firefly account. I can also do other things. I can edit the image. So if I want to do
that, I can do a bunch of things such as
generative feel. So this is something
that has been implemented also in
photoshop and allows you essentially to make
the image larger and to basically let the AI build the
rest of the image for you. Pretty amazing, we're
going to cover that later. Also, we have to
generate similar. So if you like this
image and you want to generate similar image to this, I can click on generate similar. I can also use a
structure reference. So this is a new feature in Adobe firefly that we're
going to cover in this class. And we also have other
features that we can add into Adobe Express, which is another application. For instance, if
you want to apply certain filters and adjustments, we can do that, and
also remove background, very useful feature as well. We can do that in Adobe Express and also add some text and more. Now, for instance, if I want
to generate similar images, all I need to do is
spiclygenerate similar, and it is going to keep
the image that I like, and the other three are
going to be generated now with this as a reference. As you can see, now I've got more options very similar
to my fourth image here, and I quite like
this image here. If I like that image, all I need to do is
simply just download it. But if I want to create
the image, for instance, with a different aspect ratio, I can go to my side bar here. As you can see on the
general settings, I've got the option
to see the model, at the moment we have
firefly image two. As a time of this recording. We also have aspect ratio. We can change the aspect ratio
to be one of these four. Let's say I want
to have landscape. Four by three. You can
even have white screen. This is amazing if you want
to create like thumbnails for your content videos or
for any other purposes, you can actually change the
asper ratio quite easily. I'm going to **** landscape. And nothing happened
unless I just go in to generate and it's
going to generate essentially other
four images for me. When you create these
iterations, of course, it's going to generate a completely different
image or a similar image. As you can see, I've got
still the C view and I've got my g of coffee and
also some greenery as well. So the quality is
absolutely stunning. I quite like the
image number four. Let's download this image. I'm going to go to
download button. So when you do that, you have
this message from Adobe. It says promoting
transparencies in AI. Adobe is committed to promoting transparency
around content generated with AI tools
like Adobe firefly. When downloading or sharing content generated with
a Dobbie firefly. The content credentials
will be applied to let people know that you
created this using AI. So this content credential is something we're going
to cover later on, but essentially is metadata that is going to
be attached into your images when you generate
them using adobe firefly. So people can actually
trace the image changes and all the different
parameters that have been used to
generate such an image. So this is something that Dobby wants to make
sure you are aware of. I'm going to click on Continue. And now the image is being
saved into my download folder, if I want to see it, I can click the image and the
image it's quite big. So I can go here and I
can make it slightly smaller so you can
see it. On screen. And if I want to see the size of this, I can go to my tool, I can go to adjust size, as you can see this image
is 2304 by 17 92 pixels. So it's quite a big image. So you can actually see
them also in centimeters. And if you're thinking
to print them out or in millimeters or any
other percentages up to you. But this is the pixels,
20300700, almost 800. So the image quality
now in Adobe Firefly is definitely improved from a
previous version of Model one. And this is how you create and generate images by
iterations using the prompt. In the next video, we're
going to spend some time talking about prompt
engineering and how we can best approach firefly to generate the
best images ever.
6. How to talk to Firefly: Let's have a look
at some tips and tricks about how we can talk to a Dobbie
firefight to get the best content and
the best images ever. One of the first rule in basic prompting is
to be specific. You're going to
hear this word very often during this class because the more
specific you are, the better the results would be. An example would be a
fluffy cat sitting on a windows hill looking
out at the city scape. So this would be
descriptive enough to get you a nice image.
Be descriptive. Example will be on the right, secret agent seen
from the future, backlit in a decadent post apocalyptic cafe, serious face, dark appearance,
scrapla the jacket, cinematic lighting,
cinematic poster style. Now, I said on the
right because I wanted a white asper
ratio for this image, and I want to have
the secret agent on the right side of the image. Again I was very specific
and descriptive. Be empathetic, so
you can actually put some feelings
into the description, tender moment of a
child sharing in heartfelt conversation with
the elderly grandparent, love, wisdom. Some keywords at
the end as well. Also, trying to be as
creative as possible. For instance, studio
shot of a futuristic, high heels, warm, red, blue, gel lighting, Boca made out of
mechanical materials. So again, you need to
be very creative when you write your descriptions
to get the best results. And of course, you
can iterate that. And the fifth rule here is don't refer to famous characters,
films or brands. And the reason why I say that is because I was trying to create an image using the
descriptions in point number two
to be descriptive. On the right secret agent scene, I wanted to have a secret agent similar to blade
runner and I wanted to have him wearing
a leather jacket similar to Hang solo
from Star Wars. Even though I was writing those prompts couple of
times with iterations, I couldn't get anything
closer to what I wanted. So Firefly does not know about famous characters
and films or brands. So make sure that if you want
to have specific objects, for instance, a
leather jacket that looks like hung
solo in Star Wars. Trying to really be descriptive
about the jacket that you want to see and iterate
that during your process. And that's the best way
to approach adobiFirefly. And that's one of
the reasons why Adobe firefly is
compliant with copyright. So you're not going to
have any issues in terms of copyright
infringement, et cetera. An example of bad prompting
is the one that we tried in the previous video.
A mug of coffee. This is just a
very simple prompt that produces actually a
picture that you can see here. This is the picture that
came out out of this prompt. Even though we're
using a firefly, the new model generation, which is amazing and creates amazing pictures such as this. I didn't specify what I
wanted if it was a metal mug, a ceramic glass mug, I didn't specify any of that. So this is too short,
definitely is too short. It's not specific enough. What sort of environment
scenario I want this g to be. It doesn't have any description, so poor descriptions,
and it's too objective. So it's just very cold
description of what I wanted. So make sure you put
your own feeling, your own personality
into the description. A good prompting would
be a realistic image of a large steamy mug of coffee on a wooden table in
a cozy living room, with the sea view through a large window during
sunrise wide angle shot. I highlight those keywords
in red, steamy, cozy, wide angle shot because
I really wanted to convey that into my image and trying to be very very specific and very
personal in your description. Again, it describes the
image with details. It has subjective
interpretations. That's what I want
to have when I have a cozy living room. I want to have a
steamy cup of coffee. I wanted to have a
wide angle shot, describe the background,
the objects, if there are people, animals, or any other elements
within your image. If you want to refer more into prompt engineering and how to talk best with adobe firefly, again, this is a software that will be updated in the future. And depending on
when you're watching this, things might change, but you can refer to the
Tips and Tricks website of Adobe through this link or
you just search on Google, writing effective
prompts in adobiFirefly. Usually, the first and
the second search on Google is the Adobe
website that you can actually refer to to get the best out of a
Dobbie firefly. With that said, I'll see
you in the next video.
7. Explore content type: Let's explore some
effect in adobe firefly, and how can they dramatically change the look of our
images and our prompt. So I'm back into
text image here, and I'm going to
write this prompt. On the right secret agent
movie from the future in a post apocalyptic
Asian antique shop, a scruffy dark brown
leather jacket, thin jacket, lights reflection
through his dark glasses. Let me just put this properly. Dark mood, cinematic lighting
and cinematic poster style. So it's very specific of
what I want to achieve. I'm going to just
press and generate. I was going to elaborate
that into a square image. I'm going to change the aspect
ratio just in a second. But I want to see what sort of effect will apply to this image. So that we go, I've got
now my secret agent, and I've got four
different style. A quite like the second one
and the first one as well. But I'm going to change
the aspect ratio. I'm going to go into square, and I'm going to
go into landscape. I'm going to choose
white screen. This is going to
be a film posture I'm going to just
click on generate. Now we have our wide
screen view of our poster. Quite like this one
here, quite nice. The fourth one and this
one here is also nice. There also quite nice. Yeah. I think I wanted to have a different
look of my leather jacket, but now quite like this one
here, I'm going to rate it. And by the way, fire flight will apply a type of
settings automatically. And this is determined by the switch here,
which says auto. So that will basically
determine your prompt, and it will apply either a
photo effect or an art effect. So if I click on art and
I click on generate. As you can see, when I click
on any of these effects, it will add a tug
down to my prompt, as you can see, I've
got this art tug. And now I'm going to
click on generate and see what it does to my image. Okay, so it applies a certain an art
filter into my image. In fact, it doesn't look like a photo looks like more artwork. Yeah, I quite like this,
but I prefer photo. I'm going to go back to photo. And as you can see, when I
switch between art and photo, the label will
change here as well, because you can have both. But you can apply
many other factors we're going to cover
just in a second. Now, I'm going to
go back to photo. One of the few features that
I really like about firefly. Now, is the fact that you can
change the photo settings, if it is a photographic
photo realistic image. I'm going to choose
this photo here. And I'm going to
this photo here. Oh, quite like this
one here as well. I'm going to choose
this one here just for the sake of this exercise, but I'm going to
go here, and then I'm going to go into
photo settings, as you can see, is
automatically applied. But I can go into this
little arrow here, click on it, and I can
change the aperture. If you go all the
way to the right, it's going to go to focus 1.2, which is basically going to make everything around
the subject blurry. If I want everything sharp, I need to go all the way to the other side
of the aperture. So when it is under focus 22. As you can see, I've got also a little preview of how the picture is
going to look like, and it gives you this nice
effect of the subject. I'm going to just stick
with 1.4 quite like that. Also, I've got the
shutter speed. This is something that you
can also move with a slide. If you want to have
a longer exposure, you can just change this. I'm going to just
leave it as it is. And then we have
the field of view, which is going to
change essentially the viewable area. Of the image. So if you want to have
it like wide angle, if you want to
have a more close, and that will change the
millimeter here of your lens. I will basically emulate a lens. So this is a 35 millimeter
lens equivalent. We also have 40 millimeter, which is a quite wide angle. Otherwise, you can go very
close, 300 millimeter. Let's say I want to
have a 28 millimeter, and I'm going to
just press generate. And as you can see, when I
now apply these changes, the auto button will
automatically switch off. So it's not automatic anymore. It will basically
apply my settings. And this is something that
you can change all the time. And as you can see, now, I've got a little bit of
why the shot of the image. I'll go a little bit more
context in the background. I quite like this image
here, quite nice. I'm going to stick with I'm
going to stick with this one. Actually I'm going
to download this. I'm going to press continue. It's good to have it, and I'm going to just
rate it as well. This is just some
of the effects that you can apply to your prompt to your images to make
dramatic changes. In another video, I'm
going to show you some of the effects that you can
apply to your image. Okay.
8. Structure Reference: Now let's talk about structure. The structure effect is something you find
here on the side bar. Now we're going to use
the same prompt image that we used in the
previous video. And reference here is
something you can apply. You can apply your own images. You can apply an image that
comes with a Dobby firefly. So this essentially helps you to change the outline and
the depth of your image. So for instance, if I want to change the background
perspective, I can use one of these
outline example. I can go to even
browse gallery here to check all the other effect and the other images
that I can use. I go here are three categories. I've got abstract,
I've got photography, and I've got also line drawings if I want to have that instead. I'm going to use an effect
that is under photography, just to show you what it does. And I'm going to just show
you something like with a very wide angle with a very far background
like this CD scape. I'm going to click on that.
As soon as I click on that, it will apply the
structure reference down below here on my prompt, and I'm going to
click on generate. Okay. Now, from that image, it would actually
tried to put some of the objects and some of the background far
away from the subject. So it tried quite
hard in some of this. This did quite a good job. This one here quite
nice, actually, make the subject a little
bit further away from the camera and quite
like this photo. And then also this one not much. This one did a good job, but the actual subject looks
a little bit distorted. So not sure if this is a desk
or is a reflection of him, but it looks like it didn't
really come up properly. I think the best image is this, and I'm going to rate this to help firefly to get even better. So I'm going to download
this quite like it, and I'm going to also
put it into my favorite. So I can actually reference
to this later on. So if you like an image, and before you
iterate the image, perhaps you want to save it and you want to put it
into your favorite, so you can actually
bring it back and you retrieve it and then
work on it later on. Now, let's try one
of other reference. I'm going to just click on this reference
photography to remove it. As you can see, when I click
on it, it will apply it. When I click on there again, it will remove the
tag from my prompt. I'm going to go up here and I'm going to use one of my images. So I'm going to click
on upload image, or you can click on this icon here as well. Doesn't matter. And I'm going to
just apply one of my image that I did I
took a long time ago. In Singapore, and now this
image has been applied, and now I'm going to generate and see what
effect will reproduce. And as you can see, I've got the image here as
you see the image. The image is a building, very colorful building
with this perspective. So you've got this angle on this building and I've got other buildings in
the background as well. And as you can see, try
to actually reproduce that same building here using the same effect for my prompt,
which is pretty amazing. Let's try others. This
one is also quite nice. Firefly also tried to
keep the same sort of Asian shop style to my image, which is also quite remarkable. I would probably say this
image is quite nice. So that is a sort of thing that you can try
with your own image. I'm going to try in a
different image now. This is a completely
different image. This is going to
remove that one there. This is a temple in
Anchor in Cambodia. I'm going to upload
that in here. Again, this is something
these are just photos that I'm trying
to apply to my image. I'm going to press generate. But you can also
try illustrations or something that is completely abstract and see what
sort of effect you can get out of your image. Now, that one is a
temple in Acho but there's no actually
reference whatsoever. But the results are
also quite interesting. I can actually, I can definitely use one of these
images for my content. If I don't like
that, I can click on the little x icon next to my
image here on the side bar, and I can click on
Generate again. And what it does it will go
back to the previous prompt, the previous results,
the very first one. So I can just experiment here. So just choose any of this ever go and try to upload your own image as well and see what sort of result you get, and I'll see you in the next
video and we're going to explore more effect
in Adobe firefly. Okay.
9. Exploring Effects: So let's continue to explore our effects area by
going to effects. And we have quite a few
here, quite a few filters. Some of them are
the popular one, as you can see, I've
got Bok effect, I've got layered paper, synth wave, go painting, digital art, et cetera. But you can also
go to movements, and you have lots
of different ones. You go art deco, you
go Baroque, Cubism, I've got here fantasy, I've got film noir. These are just some of the effect that you
could also find in photoshop as well,
glitch graphic. So you can apply some of this. You can go to material
effect, techniques as well. You got also concepts. You've got beautiful bohemium. You got divine.
You've got nostalgic. So let's try some
of the popular. I'm going to go into something
like Bouquet effect, and I'm going to just
click on generate. You can try one at a time. You can try a couple, if you like or more. You can apply quite
a few actually. Okay. This gives me
a bouquet effect. Everything in the background is blurred, nice effect here. If I want to remove it, I just click on it again. It's going to remove
it from the tag here, and I press generate
to go back to the previous effect to
the previous image. I'm going to apply
something else. I'm going to go
into something like synth wave and to painting, for instance, and I'm
going to press generate. And this is sort the
effect you can get quite like the purple color
reflection through his glasses, the reflection through his
leather jacket as well. Let's see here. Yeah. So this is definitely one
of my favorite. I'm going to just
mark as a favorite, and also I'm going
to rate it. Okay. Now, you also have the option
to explore all of them. I can go to all. And here
you can see them all. You can see all the
effects you can apply. You can also, for
instance, apply cinematic. I'm going to try cinematic and I'm going to press generate. So if I don't like an effect, all I need to do is sprily the x next to the
label I don't like, the tag I don't like, and it will remove the
effect from my image. So as you can see, I've got a cinematic look now, kind of makes the face
and the skin very smooth. But I quite like actually the roughness
that I had before. I'm going to just press
cinematic to remove it, and I'm going to press generate, to go back to the
previous roughy scratchy look quite like this feeling
actually on the picture. By the way, if you go
all the way on top, and let's go back into our
popular to shorten the list. You also have three
parameters here. You got color and tone,
you've got lighting, and you also have camera angle. Let's try color and tone. I'm going to go here, got some black and white, got golden, cool
tone, monochromatic. I'm going to try let's say what What's going to look
like with vibrant colors. I'm going to pre press generate. And just by applying the
subtle changes to your image, you can really tweak
it and really get the right sort feel that you want to get
out of your artwork. Okay. This makes it too
purplish, in my opinion. Perhaps if I want to convey
these two or two washed out, first two are acceptable, but still too much
purple in the image. I'm not sure exactly what no I don't really like I'm going to
call vibrant color again. Press and generate, and I
go back to my previous view my previous image version. I can try another one
let's say I'm going to try muted color and
fresh generate. Again, as of the time
of this recording, you might have
different effects, and you might see something
different effects. And again, more power to you. You can try more tools and
more effects to your image. Okay, this mute the colors. I'm going to just go
back to my previous. This one is still my favorite. I'm going to go to lighting.
I'm going to try some of the lighting of back
lighting dramatic light. I have long time exposure. This is going to be
good for let's say for waterfall pictures
or nature shots of water falling or
a stream of water or a stream of water for
instance of river. And you can use long time
exposure to have a nice effect. Okay, let's try, for
instance, studio light. Generate. The studio
it gives me a again, really subtle change
to the image. I'm going to stick with
what I've got here. So you don't have to necessarily apply lots of effects
to your image. If you already got the results
that you need. It's fine. Let's go back to camera angle. I'm going to try
a couple of this. I was already a close
up macro photography, landscape photography, you got also shot from below.
Okay, let's try this. If this is already
actually from below. I wanted to have a wide angle. Let's see what's going
to do to my image. Okay. The first this image, not really wide angle,
probably the background, became a little bit wider. The subject is still quite
close to the camera. This can be a wide angle
of the background, wide angle of not much of a wide angle
here. Probably here. You've got a little
bit more white angle. It's all about experimenting or just going to go back
to my previous image. So you've got plenty here to try on to mix up mix and match. So fun with this,
and I'll see you in the next video and
we're going to explore more effects in firefly.
10. Matching Reference Images: We are learning
so far how to add some effects into
our prompt image, whether you want to have
a photo realistic image or whether you want to
have an artwork style. You can do that here
in content type. We also learn about structure, how we can change the outline
of our image and even alter the background by
applying one of these existing images or even
uploading one of our image, and it will change the structure of our image dramatically. We also explore the effects and all the different filters that we can apply to our image. And this is as far as we got. W firefight, we
also allow you to change the overall look of your image by uploading your own images or using
one of these images here. So this will apply
essentially the style of the image and override the
effect of your existing image. What I mean by that, if
you have an image with four or five colors in it and
you aplod this image here, it will apply those five
colors to this image. I will lose these colors, and those color will
be overridden of it. So for instance, if I choose this image here
on the reference, and this is a sort of a neon
light purple and blue color, and I apply to my image here
and just press generate. Now, it will overwrite
the colors of my image, and it will apply this instead. Let's see how it looks now. Okay. Boom. Now you have a completely purpliish
bluish color style image. I lost all the details
from the other image, but I retain the concept. But as you can see now, I've got a completely different style
applied over my image. If I want to apply
a different one, all I need to do is
simply just click on one of these and press generate, and that will actually replace the one that
I just applied now. As you can see, when I
see style reference here, I've got that one when
I click on another one, it will override that one. You can't have both
at the same time. Just press generate.
This is sort of like a drawing effect
almost to the image. And then we go and now we got a completely different
feel to our image. It's completely now
changed the aspect. It looks more like
a drawing and uses like two or three
four colors max. Uh, I can choose a
different one here. Again, you can experiment
a press generate. Of course, you can even upload
your own images as well. It could be just an image, an illustration or
anything that you like. This is also kind of similar to the neon one
that we had before. I'm going to just remove that press generate and
go back to this image, and I'm going to go
to Browse gallery. Here, you got quite a few
popular ones as well. With just a few colors. You got acrylic and oil. We could try one of this, actually, Acrylic and oil. Let's see, I'm going to try
this one here and apply that. I'm not showing you all
of the four versions, but again, because I prefer
that image in particular, but you never know sometimes you stick with one image and then once you apply an effect, you might like a
different version of it. That is now our effect, our acrylic view of our image. Quite fascinating,
actually, the fact that you can really dramatically
change your initial concept. Your initial prompt can be completely altered by
applying these filters. Now, we're applying
this one here, like a desertic style. This is a market or farm look. Okay. The secret agents in the farm in this
really remote village. We can try some
water color as well. We can try this one
here, generate. We also have some
pencil drawing, some architectural
sketches as well, three D. That's it. So this is another
style reference. I'm going to try
this drawing here. I'm quite curious to know,
quite like that one. I can also apply
monochromatic if I wanted to. So I can go to something like that, something
more minimalistic. I've got some three D effects. I've got some digital
illustrations as well. This has certain key colors, and that can be
applied to your image. I've got neon, neon effect. Let's try one of these
digital illustration. You got plenty. You
got photo studio, you have photo manipulation. Okay. This is quite
stylish, actually. I quite like it. Yeah. So that you got other colors and
other effect. You can apply. You got textures. You
have color and lighting. So apply one of these, I'm going to try geometric. Feel free to experiment
with the reference effects. You got plenty here to
experiment and to try on. Bar in mind, you can also upload your own image as well to
apply different effects. Feel free to experiment and be creative with these
effects, and in next video, I'm going to show you
some other ways to change the intensity and the
strength of these effects.
11. Strength Slider: After changing the effects
and adding a reference image to match the style of the image into our prompt and
into our concept, we can also change the
strength of these effects. On the styles, as you can see, I've got visual intensity, which we applied before, but we also have strength. The strength slider
will affect the, the matching image
that we applied, and also the effects as well that we applied in
the previous video. Now, if I go here and I drag
the strength all the way up, click congenerate,
it's going to give me more accentuated
effect on the image. Now if I visit my artwork is still
processing number three, but you notice now the image the effect is
more applied on the image. You see the texture here, it's more marked
into the picture. If I go into the other side, so if I drag the
strength all the way down and press now generate, the effect is going
to be more subtle, more soft, and less accentuated. Let's see how it looks. It's a bit softer. As you can see the outlines as much
softer than before. It's more looks like
in a hand painting. But otherwise, you can just go back to strength
in the middle and just press generate and it will remember the previous settings, and of course, it won't take any time to
process the image. So I can stick with
this, but bear in mind, you have the strength
slide which will affect the effects that you applied and the filters that you
apply to your image. So ever go with that and I'll
see you in the next video.
12. Visual intensity slider: Now that we learn how to change the counter type from
photo to an art piece, we also can change the
intensity of our effect. For instance, in
this picture here, I can go down here on
the styles and change the intensity by using
this light here. So I I drag this slide
all the way to the right, I will increase
the intensity and the characteristics of my image. Now if I click on generate, I'm going to have
a more, you know, marked features on the image of this secret agent and on the background features
as well and details. And I've got also other example
here to prove the point. Again, I can choose any
of this, for instance, for disc sort of intensity
I quite like image one. For this image two, I
will probably prefer. Number one is probably best for me. I don't know about you. If I instead going to let's
go back to this one here, and if I instead now drag the slide visual intensity all the way to the left
and press generate, I will get a more kind of soft or softer feeling and
effect on the image itself. And every details now are
kind of more bit more softer then not
accentuated as before. Otherwise, I can just go back to the middle where
I was before, and this is my initial image. Or I can go one step a little bit further
in terms of intensity to see if I've got some kind of middle ground and see if I can compromise my image
characteristics to a new result. Now, I got a similar
results from before. It is a subtle change. Again, this is very subjective. I quite like actually, the visual intensity
that I've got from here, and I quite like the first image because I got lots of more
going on in the background, more objects, and
more details also in his jacket and his
face features as well. So I quite like this one here. I'm going to just vote as well. I'm a good advocate of firefly. I just want to make sure that they know that I like
certain results. But this is how you change the visual intensity
using the lider. Now, in the next lessons, I'm going to show you
more features and more controls that you can
tweak with your image. Okay.
13. Colour, Lighting and Composition: Let's explore now how we
can change the look and feel of our composition,
our images, or our art piece, by applying some new colors, some lighting, and
some compositions. So we explored this before
in a previous image, but I'm going to reiterate this by using a
different prompt, and I'm going to type
something like this. Lady bug resting on a flower, bouquet effect, sunrise, summer
day after a rainy night. I'm going to just
press generate and see how firefly is going to generate
this and interpret this. So we have the leti
bug on a flower, quite nice after a rainy night. It gives a little bit of water
drop into it, quite nice. I've also wanted to have
a photo realistic image. So it's already applied
as a photo, brilliant. Now, if I scroll down here, We have our structure,
our styles, but we also have these
three parameters that we explored before
in the previous image, which is color and tone, lighting, and camera angle. This will dramatically
change the composition, the coloring and the look
and feel of your image. By going to color and tone, we find some of these filters, for instance, black and white, cool tone, golden,
monochromatic, and muted color, vibrant color. So I can apply one of these. Let's try a vibrant color. And when I apply that
it's going to add that tag down below here
on my prompt lighting. Let's go to lighting,
or go back lighting, dramatic light, golden
hour, harsh light. We got low lighting, multi exposure, studio
light, surreal lighting. I'm going to try let's say, we're going to try
surreal lighting. On the camera angle, this is going to change
our perspective, the perspective of how the
image is going to look like. I've got here a close up. I've got landscape photography,
macro photography. This is a lady bug, so I
can try macro photography. I also have shot from above, shot from below, and
wide angle, et cetera. I'm going to try
macro photography. I'm going click on generate. As you can see, when I type here on the prompt Boca effect, it will automatically apply bouquet effect on the
effect. Pretty clever. Now, the image here
looks stunning. I've got here the
first interpretation, which is quite nice. The second one here
gives me a lot of blurry and bouquet
effect on the image. The third one and the fourth. They look a little
bit artifact here. But if I want, I can just change the lighting or a
different effect. I can go to lighting. I can choose for instance, let's look, dramatic light. We can try that
and press generate and see if what gives us. And now we have the
dramatic light, which gives us a completely different effect on the image. I quite like this image
here, number three. Let's go back to golden hour. As you can see, I've
got a brilliant effect here on this blady bag. I can choose actually
photo number three. So just by applying vibrant color and golden
hour and macro photography, I achieve this sort of effect. If I want to change
the camera angle and I want to have
something, for instance, like a close or let's
say shot from below. Let's see how it
looks. It's good to experiment different angles. Even something unusual
that you've never done before or goes against the norm is always good to
try, especially in firefly. Again, it's very similar
to the macro photography, but I still retain the boca effect like this
image here, quite nice. But again, feel free to
experiment and change the look and feel of your image by applying these
three parameters, and you're going to have
lots of fun with it and applying the rest of the effect
that you learned so far. Me going to explore more tips
and tricks about firefly.
14. Deep dive into Photo settings: Let's take a look now
at other tools that we have available in firefly that
we briefly touched before, but I want to just
reiterate on them. I'm going to type the prompt, a photo realistic waterfall
in a jungle, Wilderness, wildlife, lens flare effect, pure emerald, and blue water,
and nature photography. Go to click on generate
and there we have it, we have a beautiful waterfall, quite a few here, quite like the number three
and number four. I'm going to just rate
the results as usual. Let's take a look at the
photo settings here. Now, firefly will automatically
apply these effects and the settings if you prompt
results into a photo. But if you prompt results into an art piece, it won't apply. In this case, this is a photo, photo settings are applied. But I can as click on
this little arrow next to auto to find out what
settings we have available. Now, in photography,
we have aperture, shutter speed and field of view, but you don't have
to necessarily know about this terminology. All you need to
do is simply have a cursor over one of the slider, and I will actually
tell you what it does. For instance, if
you have a cursor over aperture, it says here, adjust the amount of background that is blurred to draw
attention to the subject. For instance, in this case, the subject is our waterfall. So what we can do here, we can change the focus to be, for instance, a bit more. On the right side. So if you move the focus all the
way on the right side, it will make the subject in focus and the
background blurry. This case, it won't really
work on this picture, but if we don't know that and you want to just experiment, all you need to do
is simply do that, go to the focus all
the way up to 1.2, and click on generate and see what sort of effect
you can achieve. Sometimes you never
know you might get actually in effect
quite interesting and can be definitely used if you
like it. Let's have a here. It looks like now the
waterfall is nice and sharp, and also everything
else looks like sharp, some of the water
here, it's blurry. An interesting effect.
Definitely can be used. It looks like almost a picture from one of those storybook. So it's quite nice to
have this sort of effect. But let's go back to focus. For instance, focus eight
was in Focus eight. Let's go back all the
way to the Focus 22 and see what effect
we get out of that. So if the aperture is
all the way to 22, let's see what
firefly is going to interpret out of this settings. So now we have a well, a more sharp picture. So everything looks like
sharper and there's not really anything in a blurred doesn't
have any blur feel at all. Okay, that's fine.
Let's go back to focus eight que
like that effect, and then just prec generate and it's going to go back to
the previous settings. And let's explore shutter speed. Shut the speed in this case
can be used for movements. So if you have a car speeding up or someone dancing,
or in this case, a water streaming through
a river or a waterfall, you can actually use
this shutter speed for your advantage. So Shutter speed here, if you have a
accurse over there, create a blur that
includes a streak of light or a moving object
across your photo. As you can see from the bridge here from the photo
here, there is a bridge. If I move the shutter speed
all the way to the right, as you can see the lights now are actually in a
longest posh view. Looks like a beam
of light moving, which is quite nice effect. I can actually use
this effect for my waterfall and
see how it looks. I'm going to drag this all
the way to 10 seconds, and I'm going to go
down to generate and see what effect we can
achieve with that. Nature shots usually
are quite good, especially when you
have some dynamic going on in the image. That long exposure
effect is a bit applied, but not as much as I
thought it would be. But if we want to apply
that into our image, there is another
tool that we haven't explored just yet
and you scroll down all the way to the lighting on the color tone
lighting and camera angle. If you go to
lighting, you should be able to see long
time exposure. This is an effect
that we can use for certain pictures
or certain art piece. Now, I'm going to apply
that long exposure and applies it on my
prompt down below here, and I go can't generate. And let's see if now makes
any difference to our image. Now we can definitely see
the long exposure effect on our waterfall from
the first image all the way to the fourth. And we can definitely
choose one of these. Beautiful photos. Let's go
back to our photo settings. The last one is
our field of view. These function essentially
emulate the lens. If you're not a photographer, all you need to do
is simply have a cursor here and it says, adjust the maximum
viewable area. If I want to make the
picture and the area wider, all I need to do is
simply just move the slider all the way to
the left, and it says wide. Now, if I click on generate. To leave the long exposure
effect into the image. Now the field of view says
there is 14 millimeter. Now we can definitely see
some wide angle effect. We can see that the waterfall
is actually closer to us, but it gives us a wider
view of the area around it. And if I do the opposite, if I go all the way
to 300 millimeters, so it's kind of
using a zoom lens, going very close to the subject. In this case, our waterfall, let's see what sort of
results we can get. Now, it went closer, but not as closer
as you might think. This is a nature
shot, of course. But if you use this
effect for a portrait, you're definitely going
to find some differences. For instance, if I completely
change the prompt, I can just delete all of this, go back to the
prompt and delete. Another way to rewrite a prompt is just going
back to text to image, going back to this page
and write a new prompt. I can say, I just wrote a portrait of a young
girl dancing in the rain, summer feeling, smiling,
city lights reflections. Let's see what we can get. Now we can use some of
those photo settings. So we got four results. Now, the image is quite close. But if I go to
photo settings now and I click on the
arrow next to it. As you can see the
field of view it has 80 millimeter, which
is quite close. But if I want to make
it like a wider view, I can go all the way to
wide and click on generate. And now I think you're going
to have a better idea, better understanding on how this effect might apply to
this particular scenario. Hopefully Firefly will show
us a good emulation of that. Yeah, it's going to
show us a little bit more on the image, this is definitely
a little bit more wide angle than the other ones. Yeah, this one is also as well, a little bit more wide angle. And I will probably
vote for this one. It looks like a little
bit further away. If I go to photo
settings now and I go to the other side and I zoom in
with 300 millimeter effect. Now we have definitely a zoomed image, much
closer perspective. Again, if you want to
accentuate on this close up, one other thing you
can do is either amend your prompt and just type close up or you can go
down to the settings here on the lighting
on the camera angle. And here, we can actually
use the close up filter. So that would be
part of our prompt. We can try now to go to generate and see if it makes
any difference. But of course, the prompt is the one that firefly
will prioritize. So in this case, it is
a young girl dancing, so I wanted to show you
the young girls dancing. And that's it. It still gives
you some sort of a dynamic. It's definitely
closer than before. And now, if I just
show the other images, Definitely the picture
is improved by using these filters and in conjunction
with the photo settings. Experiment more and more
with photo settings. You have lots of
controls within firefly, and I'll see you in the next video when
I'm going to show you more about Firefly and
it's incredible features.
15. Using Prompts as Style reference: Now that we come so
far with firefly, and we learned all the
different parameters and effects that we can
apply to our prompts, there is another tool in our
arsenal that we can use to make our photos and our
artwork more consistent. For instance, if you want to
create a series of images or a series of artwork which
have the same sort of effect, look and feel, and you want to keep the
consistency of your art. And if you want to retain all the effects that you apply on this image,
for instance, the Boca effect,
the vibrant colors, the surreal lighting,
the micro photography, and all the other changes that you applied in this
image, Of course, if we change something in our prompt and we're trying
to generate another image. It will completely
change the look of it. If we want to keep the
look of this and keep consistency in our artwork
and in our photos generation, we have a tool, which is
actually hidden here under edit. So, for instance, if I
choose this image and I like to use this image
as my reference, I can go to edit and I can use
this as a style reference. So you have the option.
You're going to click on it. And that will be applied
in our prompt down below. Now, if I want to change something in this image,
let's say, for instance, I want to have
instead of a ladybug, I want to have a
monarch butterfly. I'm going to just do that. A monarch butterfly. And I click on generate. That we go. Now, we have a Monarch butterfly with
the same effect that we applied before for our lady bug with now a beautiful butterfly. And I can actually check all the other versions
of the photo, and I still like
the first image. Beautiful. So this sort of look can be applied with
other insect, for instance, if I want to add let's say, I want to add a firefly. I can click and
generate amazing image, or if I want to
have a dragonfly. So amazing results here. And not just the first
one, but as you can see, I've got the second
one, even the third one amazing and the
fourth one as well. Amazing, amazing results by just using the reference style, and this option will really change the game for
your image creation, your art creation, and
keep consistency in your series of perhaps
collections that you want to create
for your portfolio. So I hope you enjoy
and I'll see you in the next video with more tips
and tricks about Firefly.
16. Saving iterations and favourites: During the process of crafting
the right prompt to get the right image and during
the iterations as well, if you want to save an
image that you really like for later reference or
for later retrieval, you can actually save
it into your favorites. You have an option here
on the top and corner of the image to save it into favorites as I was doing
during this class. And I can also
download the image. If I want to retain all the
settings and the prompts and exactly the same sort of view that I've got here
with all these tools. I can actually go into the
image itself and I can save it into my favorites
so I can later retrieve it, or I can even share
this with someone else. So if I click favorite now, I can view the favorite
down below here. I've got this little pop
up window that comes up. But when that disappeared to locate where
your favorites are, you just go into the icon here, the Adobe firefly on a top left corner or you
just click the back button. When you do that, it goes
back to the main page. Here you have a tab
on top for favorites. When I click on favorites, I can see all the
favorite images. If I have a curse over this, I can actually see the prompt. I can see the
button to download, and I can also see the samples. If I click on view samples, it's going to go
back to this view, Is going to retain my my tags, if I have
any, my prompts, and all the settings that I actually applied
to this image. So I can go back to that stage and I can carry on
from there if I wanted to. So very, very important to save your settings by saving the
image into your favorites. I encourage you to use
this feature to save your different stages of
image creation. Okay.
17. Sharing your work with a team: When we create something
in a Dobby firefight, we need to be aware of
the fact that iterations can actually override
your initial image, and perhaps you might lose
what you created initially. So if you want to
save this image, you can go and save it as a favorite or download
it if you want to. When you download something
to share with someone else, if you use this download button, it will flatten the image. So they won't be
able to actually see all the settings that
you applied to the image, and perhaps they won't
be able to amend the image in Firefly if
they use Firefly like you. If you want to share
your work with someone else that uses Firefly, then you would have to
share it in another manner. And that is by going to share the share button here
that you see on top. Now, when you click on share, you have a bunch of options. You got copy link to image. You also have the option to copy the image and paste into a
document if you want to. You can also save it to a library to your
library here in adobe, You can also submit
to community. If you do that's going to
appear in the gallery view, so everyone else
can actually see it and can actually see
all of your settings and amend it to create other imagery and
other art with it. Or you can actually open in a Dobbie press to add
perhaps text or to add more effects
or to use it for brochures or any other documents
that you want to create. In this case here, we want
to share with someone else who uses firefly. So we're going to go
to copy link to image. That is going to create a link. And then if I want
to see this link, I can actually share
it by message or via e mail or whatever
other tools you have. But if I open a new tab
and I just paste that link in what you're going to see or what my friends are
going to see is this image. They're not going
to be able to see the other three images that
you have, but only this one, but they're going
to see all the tags that you added into the image, all the settings here
on the side bar. Essentially, what you
had, in your view, they be able to see it and apply changes if they wanted to. They can also
download the image. And you also have
the button down below here that says Tripmpt. When they click on Tripmpt, they will be able to then generate other images
according to that one. And that is how they're going to collaborate with your
art by doing some back and forth and you'll be
able to actually work with the team if you are working on a big project using
the share option.
18. Where to find Firefly text to image features: Okay. Abi five fly text
image technology can be accessed from other applications within the Adobe
Cloud ecosystem. One of them is Adobe press. Adobe press essentially
is a publisher and also allows you to create
social media posts, social media material
and content as well as Instagram and also flyers and presentations
and much, much more. You can also edit
videos, edit photos, and do all sorts of things, creating brochures
and much, much more. And this is going to be another
video for another course. But you can also
access the text to image technology by
going down here, and you can see you've got
text to image down here, and you also have generative
fill, text to template, and text to effect,
which we're going to cover later on in this class. But you can actually
access to text image, and you can actually
type a description of what you want to create. Let's say we want to create a, I just typed a tennis player during a match on a green court. Very, very simple.
Press generate. And now it's going to alert me that generative
AI in Adobe apps. It's a technology that you can access and you can take advantage of and
you need to agree, I'm going to agree to the terms. Now it's going to
generate my image. As you notice here on
the left hand side, we have similar tools that we saw before
in Adobe firefly. You have now the describe
prompt area here, the bar. Then you have the content type, so that can be auto
photographic, et cetera. This is automatically detect your prompt and create an image, say I want to create a
photo, I can click on photo. I can click on generate again. Of course, you can
choose the style, popular movement themes, and now it's going to
generate a new image, and it's going to
give me four results like you see in firefly. I can choose between
these results. Let's say I like this image. I can click on load More
and it's going to load other four iterations
of the image. And I can just simply click
on them and it's going to allow me to choose
whichever image I want, and I can carry on doing that. I can also have the option
to use generative fill, which you're going
to cover later on. But this is the other way you can access to these features. Of course, you have
limited tools, but this is within a W express, and you can also do much,
much more with this. You can also access to this
page directly from Firefly. If I go back to my
Adobe firefly and I'm going to my favorites and I
choose one of my favorite. Let's go back to
our firefly here. I want to create a brochure perhaps using this picture
using Adobe Express. All I need to do is simply go to share I can go to Adobe
express from here. Open in Adobe express. When I do that is going
to open the image into Adobes press in the same
fashion as we saw before. I've got the image here, and I've got some tools
here on the left hand side, and I can do stuff
like generative fiel, I can erase things, I can remove backgrounds, I can crop and I can
do all other things. I can apply effects
adjustment, et cetera. So this is the other way you
can access to Adobes press. The third place
you can access to this technology is Adobe stocks. Adobe stock is accessible by
going to stock adobe.com. So this is the page
of Adobe stocks. Of course, you can get ten images when you
start your free trial. But if you don't have any
subscription with it, you can still access to over 800,000 more than
800,000 images. So don't exclude this done write off from your list of
places to access to images. This is a perfect place to go and take advantage
of the many, many pictures images and illustrations you can
use for your work. But there is a
section here on top, where is the last tab actually. It says, generate for click on. I can access to this page, and of course, it's
going to alert me again, says generative I in adobe apps I'm going
to agree to the terms. After I do that, I've got
a prompt bar over here, and I can type the same
thing as I typed before, a tennis player on a green court during a match. And I can click on generate. Once you generate your image. In adobe stocks, you
have four options for iterations or four
versions of your image, which is going to generate now. On the left hand side, you
have the usual suspects. Some of these tools
are available here, which are from adobe far fly. Aspect ratio, I can
change the aspect ratio, I can change the content type, whether I want a
photo realistic image or an art piece or a graphic. I've also got the style options. I can choose one of these. Now, I've got these
four options. Very different from what we
actually had in WS press. But I can choose
let's say this image here and I can save
it to my library, I can download it
if I wanted to. Of course, if I go back here, I can apply a photo effect, I can apply a wide
screen if I wanted to, I can use iPerrealistic, and I can just generate and it's going to
generate other four images. Now, why you generating
your images in Adobe stock, you also have similar
images down below here. These are suggestions that
you get automatically, why you generate your images. And of course, you
can access to this, even if you don't
have a subscription. Again, as I said, you
can access to more than 800,000 photos without
any subscriptions. So if you are subscribed, if you have any sort of
plan with Adobe Cloud, you can access to more
tools and more images. But D, exclude, as I said, this is a brilliant
tool you can access. And as you can see, I've got
other four images on top. And again, I can do
the same thing here. I can choose the one I
want, I can download it. Now, the other place
you can access to these image generation
technologies is photoshop. So I'm going to just close this and minimize the two windows. I'm going to go into
Photoshop in photoshop, I can access to this by
creating a simple file. I'm going to go to new file, I'm going to create
a custom file. And let's say I'm going to
do a 1920 by ten 80 Canvas. And press create. This
is just a y Canvas. What I can do I can
just select a section. I'm going to select
the whole thing here with my selection tool. I've got this little bar that appears right at the bottom. Sometimes at the top, it
depends where you left it off. But you can see now I can
click congenerat field, which is very similar
to text to image. But when I click
congenerative field, I can actually type
here another prompt. Let's say I want to create a. A house, a beach house
with a large window, a surf on the side. Sunrise. Actually, sunset. Okay. And press generate. So he's
going to generate something. This is not the text to image. It's more like generative fiel, which is slightly
different technology than text to image, but it's something that
we can apply in photoshop and we're going
to cover a little bit more later on in this class. Now we're going to wait until photoshop
creates something. So that is my image. I've got three different
versions here. I've got the first one, the second one and the
third one here. So I can choose between
the three and of course, I've got the option here
on the right hand side to kind of delete the
one I don't want. If I'm not happy with that, I can click on generate again, is going to generate
other three. So that is something you
can do, and of course, you can access to this versions here on the right hand side. So this is something
you can, of course, tap on if you have an Adobe
subscription with photoshop. But bear in mind, there will be other
places as well within Adobe Cloud where you can access to text to
image generation. So so stay tuned on
the Adobe ecosystem, and I'll see you in
the next video. Okay
19. Firefly New Image 3 Updates: Welcome back as we speak, Adobe has released a new image
model for Adobe firefly, which is image model three. So if you go into the
Adobe firefly main page, you're going to scroll
down here and you can go to text to image. We're going to
generate a new image. I'm going to go to
the prompt here. And as you can see, all
these galleries here are the new model. The
majority of them are. Yes, the new model
three, which is amazing. So we're going to
go into the prompt and we're going
to type a prompt. I already typed a prompt here, as a jungle with leafy plants, tropical birds, and a river. I'm going to click on generate. Okay. And here on
the left hand side, you see the model
that we have now available is Firefly
image three, which is a new model
is the preview, probably is under Beta, but they just released
it probably today. And as you can see, I've got my jungle and the
quality is breathtaking. Amazing illustrations here. And you can also compare from previous image
firefly model, which is the Firefly
image model two. You can click on that, we
can click on generate. Okay. Let's see how the image model two will
interpret my prompt. As you can see, the model and the quality is way different
from the new model. I'm going to just go back to image three and I'm
going to generate again, it's going to generate
other four versions of my prompt on my concept, whether it's going to
be an illustration or whether it's going
to be a realistic. Um, image is up to the model. But in this case, it's going
to be an illustration. Very nice. I love the colors. And you can also
go down here and experiment with the
visual intensity. You can actually make that
illustration a little bit more intense and more complex by
just moving that slider. Ever go with that. And let's see what are the four
versions we get. And it's definitely
more complex. You get more details within
the photo, it's more complex. And as you can see the line art on the leaves,
it's more complex, the mountains in
the background and the birds details definitely
definitely improved. You can actually now
go down here and tyalistic a realistic
jungle with leafy plants. Let's have a look what we
get with image model three. So again, it interprets
as an art, an artwork. I can go to photo and
I can go to generate. And you can go here,
and now you can see this is the sort of quality, the level of quality you can
get with image model three, which is pretty amazing. Standing photos, and
you can also change the aspect ratio and all the other things that we covered in this class already. Pretty exciting. Go out there, create amazing graphics and amazing images with
firefight model three.
20. Adobe Resources: One of the many resources
that you have with Adobe is the livestream and also
the discord community. And now I am in the main
page of Adobe firefly. And on the top right corner, I've got this button here. It says join the Discord. This will access to
the discord community where you can actually share and read about all the
different updates or other people's experiences
with adobie packages. You also have a button that sometimes appeared
when there is someone live in DA Dobe community or DA Dobe company,
in this case. There is a live going
on at the moment. If I click on Watch Live, I can actually see
the live stream that they actually
doing at the moment. They're talking about
Adobe press mobile App And if you missed out
on these streams, you can actually go to YouTube
and you can search for the Adobe official
channel where you can get all the updates
about the Adobe tools. So this is just a coincidence. They have got this
livestream going on, but I just wanted to show you that you can access to this, and you can also interact with the members of Adobe directly. Here, you can just activate your profile here and to
join the conversation and to ask questions if you
have any in regards to whatever they are releasing and they're sharing
at that moment. So this is a very
beautiful tools and easy to access directly from the main page of the
application that you're using. In this case, Adobe firefly. For more tips and
more resources, please follow along
with this class, and I'll teach you more and
I'll share as much as I know about what you can do and what
you can learn with Adobe.
21. Overview of Generative Fill: Now is the time to explore another brilliant feature that
we have in Adobe firefly, which is generative fill. If you scroll down
here on the home page, we notice we have texted image, but next to it, we also
have generative fill. When I click on it,
you notice you have this other page with a
gallery of different images. And these look like more generated images,
not real images, but if I have the cursor
over any of this, you notice all the different
things and elements I can change within that image with this feature
generative fiel. I can remove things, I can add things into it. I can completely change the
look and feel of an image, if I have a cursor
over another one, as you can see all the different possibilities and even more. This is, you know, the
sky is the limit here. You can actually, you know, completely change
and revolutionize the way a picture look. And again, you just explore all the different things you can do in any of these images. But if I click on this, I can actually see
the minimalistic, you know, layout of generative
feel within firefly. So on the left hand side, I've got these three tools. I've got insert, remove
and pan, just to navigate. And then I've got also the
tools down below here, I've got add, subtract, settings, background,
and invert. When you have a the cursor
over any of this is going to show you a little
explanation of what that does. But we're going to cover that
in the next video anyway. But again, I've got
this little cursor. Now, I've got insert. I can brush in an area, and I can actually type what I want in the area to appear. If I want an object to be there, if I want to have an animal or any other things
that you can think of, you can add into the image,
which is pretty amazing. This is really free
up your imagination and your creativity in ways
that wasn't possible before. Before you had to install photoshop or
professional software, you would have to have
some sort of knowledge about the software in
order to do this changes, to create something
from scratch. And this is something that
is available now in firefly. So we're going to
go back here on the generative field
on a very top left. And another option
that we have here available is to upload
our own images. And that's what
we're going to do in the next video where
we're going to explore this amazing feature and all the different things
that we can do with it.
22. Making an image come to life: Before we get started
uploading an image, I just wanted to show you what the potentials are by
using genogy field. I was like experimenting, trying to add some
elements within an image. And as you can see, I've
got a good scenario here. I've got a man
running on the beach, I've got a woman some buffing, I've got a kid playing
with the sand, I've got a dog. So I added a lot of
elements within this image. And as you can see, the
original image looks like this. If I opened the
image, you notice, this is the original image. And this is what I
created out of that. Pretty amazing. Out of nothing, I created some life
into this image. Now, we're going to
get started now. Going to go back here
on the genetic field, and I'm going to
upload an image. You should be able
to see this image in the exercise file. So follow along those folders and you should be able
to find this image. When you upload the image, you just bring the image in and we're going
to press open. So the image now is in, and now we have these brushes. Of course, you can
move with the mouse up and down if you want to draw perhaps here where this
bar over imposes your image. And I've got, of course,
insert, remove and pan. So let's start by
adding some elements. I'm going to click on Insert, and I've got this brush tool, and this will add
something in my image. If you want to subtract
something in an image, or you need to simpli subtract. But now we're going to
focus on Ed first of all. I'm going to here on
this part of the house, and I'm going to basically
draw a little line around the edges first
because I would like to have some sort of gazebo
here on this area here. It is quite empty,
it's quite sad. So I'm going to highlight
everything because I want firefly to have lots of freedom in order to generate
a nice gazebo. Once you've done
that, as you notice, I've got now a bar down below here which allows me to
describe what I want. And I'm going to say I want
to have a wooden gazebo with C through curtains and green plants around it. So I'm going to
click on generate. So it's going to give me some similar image that I got before. Of course, I haven't saved the one that I just showed you, but as you can see,
I've got here, three options down below. I've got the second option. The third option, which kind of kind of trying to create
another window here, which doesn't look
really realistic. So I'm going to just
try the first one here. Of course, if I don't
like any of this, I can click on more
here down below, and it will generate
other three. So we just need to be patient here and it's just a process of iterations until we
get the right results. Let's see what sort of
gazebo now generates. Got some greenery in around
the gazebo, the second one. The third one. I quite like this one here and I'm going to just press keep and
I'm going to carry on. So for instance,
here, I want to have a nice glass window, and I'm going to just
highlight everything here. And I want to have basically, you just need to have a little bit of skills on
moving with the mouse. Of course, if you
have a pen tool or if you have another
like a tablet, you can definitely
do a better job, but you don't have to be precise because firefly is
clever enough to, you know, generate something
around the edges as well. So I'm going to just say here, a glass a glass window. Actually, I want to
say a double glass, a double glass window door. That's it. Press generate. So now I've got
this first image, second image, third image. Let's say I want to
go for actually, I'm going to create
another three. As you know this is
also it's clever enough to understand where the
reflection is coming from. So the sun is here and it's
all the reflections as well, and also the same thing
for the see curtains here. It kind of follows actually how the image is. So
it's very clever. So this is another double
door glass door window. This is a second version,
a third version. I quite like this
one here, actually. I'm going to leave it
here and press keep. Then I'm going to add some
life into this image. I'm going to just put a
little dog over here. And a man. I'm going to make a
little bit bigger. So I just need to
give a little bit of hint to a Dobby
firefly, what I want. So I'm going to say a dog and
a man running on the beach. And hopefully he's going
to generate them in the order that I drown
them with a brush. I want to have the dog here and I want to have the man here. So hopefully he's
going to do that. Yeah. Okay, that's fine. The direction, actually, I
want to have that direction, see if I've got not
quite what I want. I'm going to express
more and see if it gives me another solution. Another kind of interpretation
of what I want. Okay, let's see. Okay.
That one is much better. I would say this one here. Again, you notice the
reflection as well, the shadow that it creates as well. It's
very, very clever. Now, I'm going to have
also something else. I'm going to have a I'm
going to keep this, and by the way, I'm going to
have someone butting here. So I'm going to create a little bit of perspective
a little bit here, and I want to have a
girl sing lying down. Relaxing. To like this one here, I'm going to keep it this one, and then I'm going
to have I'm going to draw a nice parasol. I'm going to have it like
this. I'm going to just give a hint to firefly, to have a nice parasol. I'm going to just make
sure I've got enough. Because when I tried before, I try to kind of
brush very thin area, and you kind of give hard time to firefly to generate
something into it. You've got a restriction, so you don't want
something to be too big, but in this case, a para white. Okay. We got that
one. We got this one. Uh, let's see, quite
like this one. That's fine. And then we're going to create
something here. I'm going to have
actually I'm going to have a bunch of children
playing with the send. I'm going to just give a
little bit of space here. I'm going to say two
children playing with send. Just press that. Yeah, I like
this one here to express. Keep. I love the fact
that it actually retain the shadows
and the effect that it should retain for a sunset effect sunset
image like this. Now, I could carry on, but you got the gist
on how to use it. You literally you brush an area and you type
description of what you want. Fun with this and feel free to upload your own
image if you want to, and I'll see you
in the next video, and I'm going to
show you other tips and tricks about
generative field.
23. Removing objects and background: Now that we learn how to
add objects into our image. Now we're going to learn how to actually subtract objects, and we're going to
basically cover all these tools down here. So we now know how to add. But what about removing? I'm going to go into remove
here on the left hand side. And if I want to remove, for instance, something
that I added before, for instance, the umbrella, I can just go here
and brush off. Completely say, if I
don't like this at all, and I want to redraw, or I changed my mind, and I don't want to
have anything there. I can do that. And after
you brush the area, you have a button
downblo It says remove. I'm going to click on remove. Okay. And now firefly
is going to kind of analyze the image around it and see if he's going
to do the magic for us. And boom is going to
basically make everything smootlesss like the parasol was never there and
pretty amazing. And I can click on a couple of options here to
see how it looks. I would say a quite
like this one here and leave it there
and a press keep. So another thing you
can do with the brush. If you're going in
two settings here, you can choose the brush size. Of course, you have the option to move it manually this way, but you also have an option like you have in photo shop with the brackets in your
Let me just clear that. With the brackets
on your keyboard, you can make the brush
bigger and smaller. So if I want to
perhaps delete some of the imperfection
within the sand, I can do that and
I can press remove and that will basically
make the sand perhaps further
or remove some of the blemishes or some of the imperfection that
I want to get rid of, as you can see, it did
a pretty good job. Other thing you can
do is I'm going to keep that I'm going
to go to settings. I can also change the
hardness of the brush. So either softer or hard, but just moving the slider. All the way to 100% is hard, so I can actually make
brush strokes much more accentuated,
much more marked. Otherwise, I can go to
here and I can make the brush tools a
little bit softer. So the edges are a
little bit smoother, but in this case, I'm going
to leave it as it is. I can also change the brush
opacity if I want to have the brush not to be too
abrupt on my image. I can use that. Of course, if I brush that on top of it, it will mark the area even more. So these are the settings. Then we have background.
Background allows us to remove background
from an image. In this case, if I use
background is going to basically remove all the objects and keep all the subject. Not really what I
was looking for. So I'm going to click on Clare. Of course, if you want to remove the background and you can invert that back, you
can also do that. So it basically
removes the subject and keep everything else in it. That is the invert button. I'm going to express cla
I'm going to close this. I'm going to go back
to generative fill. And we're going to
open another image. I'm going to show
you another way to remove subject which is very exciting that is going to revolutionize the way
you edit your images.
24. Hours of work reduced to seconds: Moving forward from
the previous class about removing object
within an image. We're going to aplod
another image, which is an old image of mine, and I'm going to just drag and drop it into the upload
image area here. You find this image also on your exercise files if you
want to practice along. I'm going to just drag
and drop it into it. And this is me with my
friends in Shangri in China. We went there quite
a few years ago. And I always wanted to take this photo with
a local person, and we never managed to do
that. So we were there. I wanted to take a
photo with this lady, but eventually we took
a photo together, and that probably
happened to you as well where you want to
kind of mark that moment and you know about that holiday and you want to have a
photo with someone local, just you and them. But of course, your
friends comes in a way, not that I don't want them
to be in the picture, but we didn't have a chance to actually take
individual photos. So, this case, I
wanted to remove these two people here so I can actually be just
me and the person. Now, with this tool now, let's see if it's possible. I'm going to just press remove
the remove tool over here, and we're going to by the way, the panning is just to move the picture a little bit higher. I don't have to remove
anything above the image. I'm going to go back to remove, and now I'm going
to go to settings, and I'm going to make
sure that my brush, hardness is hard
enough because here, I've got the edges here
to be a bit more precise. So I want to have a little
bit more control out of that. The brush size is
pretty much okay. That's fine. And then I'm
going to start to brush away. So I'm going to just do that. And basically, I have to go
through the edges first, trying to be as
precise as possible. And of course, I can use the brackets to make the
brush a little bit bigger. Mol, in this case,
closer to my hand. So if I want to now just need to be very precise
here when I do this. So be patient when you're
trying to do this. Of course, if you
made a mistake, if you go all the way there, you can still go
back into subtract, and then it just
brush that in again. So bear in mind if you
made any mistakes, you can go back and go back to subtract. Just
go back to add. Again, I'm going to try to brush those genes
out of the way. And I'm going to just
remove this as well. And here, I'm going to
make my brush smaller. Again, I'm using the
bracket key to do so. You don't have to
be super precise. I guess, because generative
AI and especially, you know, this generative feel, it's quite clever to understand the
surroundings within an image. And then I'm going to do the same thing on the other
side, my friend, sorry. If they see this, hopefully, they're not going to get upset. But of course, if I
want to remedy to it, I can actually do the opposite. I can remove myself
to the scene, and they can have a picture with the lady instead
of having it with me. But it's just an experiment. I'm going to remove
a little bit here. I'm going to leave also
the area out of the way, and I'm going to make the brush a little bit smaller, again, with the brackets And now we
are pretty much ready to see what sort of magic Adobe firefly will achieve and I go
to click on remove. So the dream to
have a picture with a local person
will come to life. So it's pretty amazing
how headed this chair. Let's see if face
another version of it. It's got a wooden chair here. Oh, I quite like this one here. I can actually try three
different versions of it. It's pretty amazing
how it kind of understands all the backgrounds, all the surroundings
of the image. This would have
taken me probably hours in photoshop to achieve. And this did in a
matter of seconds, like in 5 seconds,
10 seconds maximum. I will probably choose. Let's see if it's another
one with a wooden chair. I think I would probably
prefer this wooden chair. And I guess if I press now keep, this is going to be the final image that I can actually print out and perhaps
show up on my wall. So pretty amazing. So
this is what you can do in a matter of seconds that you wouldn't be
able to do before, and it would have
taken you probably hours and hours of
work to achieve. And sometimes it's
even impossible to reproduce some of this,
you know, texture, especially in photoshop with cloneing there is not a lot of material that you
can use to clone and to kind of achieve
this sort of results, even with the shelf here, with the wardrobe
at the background, you wouldn't be able to
do that because there was enough information for
photoshop to clone this. And now we generally
feel this is possible, and it's pretty amazing
what you can achieve. Experiment with this.
Use your own images, F fun, and I'll see
you in the next video.
25. Importance of Selections: Let's talk about the shape of
selection and the level of control that you have with generative feel within firefly. What I mean by that
is when you want to draw an object within an image, it's very important to
how you draw the shape. For instance, before you saw me creating different
objects in this picture. But if I want to, for
instance, create, let's say, a man with a dog
running on the beach, like you saw me before doing, if I just draw a square and just say I want to have the picture of this
man and the dog here. Let's say I make this shape, and I'm just type running
running man with a dog. So I'm going to click Generate. And now firefly
will interpret that using the shape that you
just drawn on the picture. As you can see, now the
dog is on the left, and the man is on the right. I've got here two dogs, and I've got the
man on the side, and I've got this one as well. And if I press generate again, This will give firefly
complete control on how the picture
is going to be, how the composition is
going to be as well. Now, if I want to, for instance, to have the man on the left
and the dog on the right, at the moment, as you can see, the man is always on the right, and the previous
pictures as well, the man is always on the right. Yeah, I've got even two dogs. So in order to get
that level of control, I'm going to press cancel, and I'm going to
press also clear, is to draw the way the composition that you
are actually thinking of. So for instance,
if I want to have a man on the left hand side, I'm going to make the shape
there a little bit taller, and I can make the shape
where I want the dog to be a little bit shorter. Let's say I want to
have the man there, and I'm going to keep the same
prompt and merci generate. And let's see what happened now. Now, firefly will, of course, trying to understand my shape. And as you can see,
now the man is on that side on the
left hand side, but it's running
opposite to the dog. So I want both of them to
run in the same direction. But again, I would have to basically specify
that on the prompt. But as you can see,
just by doing that by paying a little bit more
attention on our brush strokes, firefly will understand better how we want that
composition to be. But I wanted to show
you something else. If I press cancel, When you're trying to draw
something like a shape. You'll notice here
next to the prompt. We have this little button here, this little three sort
of lines options. So if I click on that,
you have these settings. This will allow you to determine how much control
you want to give to firefight and how much
control you want to have yourself when you draw
this brush strokes. You got match shape, so match the image to
your selection shape. You got free form
and you go conform. So if you leave that as
a default in free form, whatever you trying to draw, firefly will determine
whatever image and you will basically interpret whatever he wants to interpret. Instead, if you want
to have, for instance, a man here and a dog next
to it, what you can do, you can actually go to conform, and that will basically constrain Firefly to
follow what you want. So for instance, if I want to
have a surf wind surf here, I can actually draw a shape, and, you know,
leaning on the wall. So he would understand I
want to have that sort of, you know, you know, direction. Like, A, I'm going to
type a surf board. Surf board and go
press generate. And now firefly needs to follow my instructions and my orientation
as well of the stroke. Let's see what sort
of results we get. And now we got the results. Okay, so we can use any of this quite like this one
here. I'm gonna press keep. But as you can see now, it understands how I
want that to be. For instance, the man
and the dog, same thing. I can actually put here
just to prove my point. I'm going to just put one. Two. Three, I'm going to really challenge now firefly to understand
what I want. And I'm going to say two men and two dogs running
on the beach. Let's see what happened now. Now, as you can see,
on the options, if I press on conform
and I press on generate, Now, firefly should
understand in theory, that these two are the dogs, and these two are the men. Now, I haven't even left
a lot of room to draw, but as you can see, Firefly now follows what I want
composition to be. I can choose any of this and, I can even draw more
by generating more. Let's see if it continues to
keep the same composition. And it gives me
other three versions of the two men with the dog. I'm going to just keep this one, even though the dog
that looks a bit weird, but I can re draw
that at any time. But consider this when you
try to draw something, try to make sure you draw with the shape and directions
that you want, and then click on this little
option down below here. To determine if you want
to have a free form, if you want to leave firefight
to interpret that more or if you want firefight to follow the shape and the direction
of your brush strokes. Down below here, you
have preserved content. This is choose how much of the original content will be
kept in the generated image, so you can actually
choose to have to retain more original areas
than the shape, and then the actual new
object you want to draw in. The guidance strength
is determine how closely the generated
content keeps to the prompt. So you want firefight to follow exactly
what the prompt says, or you want to have
a middle ground, so you can actually have a little bit more room
for interpretation. You also notice something here. So if I go back to this
if you go to settings, you'll notice you have
this little tutorial here video on top. It says brush settings. Size changes the
size of your brush, hardness adds
obstract feathering, Opacity determines how much of the original
image is preserved. As you can see that
there is a fish, and if you just use a little
bit of feathering brush, you can actually
add another person or something else there. Have a different composition without compromising, you know, too much about the
quality of the image, the blending of a new object
into an existing object. And as you can see
that one looks like more sort of a dress, almost from a fish
with blending in a person and So you can actually have this sort of effect
in a generative field, but bear in mind, you
have this kind of control the settings
about brush opacity, brush hardness, and brush size, as we explored before, but you also have these
options down below where you can
determine how you want the brush strokes and firefly to control and
generate your images. I'll see you in the next video.
26. Replacing background and outfit: Let's take a look of
another application of generative field that we
can apply to our images, and this will
massively change and reduce the time that
we spend in editing. I'm going to be
using an image of me and you find this image
in the exercise files, feel free to use that
or use one on your own. This is the image of me. I took this image quite
a few years ago. Now we're going to
remove the background by clicking on the
background button. So when we do that is going
to remove everything, including the desk as well. Now, if you want to retain some of the elements
within the image, all you need to do
is simply go to subtract here and just use your brush here to include whatever element
you want to keep. In this case here, I want
to keep the desk. Okay. But you can feel free to
do whatever you like. You can actually have, you know, a completely different desk by just using the
generative fill feature. I'm going to go back to
add and I'm going to remove that background there
with some children toys. We don't want to have that. Now we go. By the way, with settings, I'm going to be using brush hardness up to 90%
because I want to go through the edges of certain of certain objects in this case, and here as well. But you don't have to be
necessarily too precise. Just as long as you're happy with that and it's
not massively wrong. I mean the selection. Let's say we are
happy with this. Now we're going to
create a background. I'm going to say a
professional studio with C view with the C view. With palm trees with palm trees. That's it. Press generate,
let's see what we get. Now, when you do this
sort of editing, make sure the image is sharp enough and
it is not too blurry. I tried to do this with very old images which
weren't really sharp, and the results
weren't really good, especially for the lighting and the effect the
lighting effect, you know, the positioning of
the light on those pictures. So here, I've got
three version of that. Quite like this one, actually.
It kind of messes up. The first one messes
up the background. I'm not sure what this is, but perhaps we can modify there. Let's see the second
one. It's okay. The third one has a
little bit of sea view, but it looks a little
bit weird as well. I think the first one is the
one I'm going to choose. This option is quite nice. I'm going to just keep
this and let's say I want to remove this from
the background. I don't really want to have that because it looks strange. So I'm going to go into remove here on the left hand side. I'm going to make sure that
brush strokes are quite big. And also, I'm going to settings, make sure the brush
hardness is up to 85. The brush opacity,
I leave it as is, and I'm going to just remove this ugly chair from
the background. I'm not even sure
if it is a chair, but I'm going to just
roughly do that. And making sure that I'm not going to compromise
the rest of the image. Let's see. And I'm going to just leave it as it
is and press remove. So I've got that. I've got this other solution
and this one. I think the first
one looks the best. I'm going to keep this one. So this is how you can change easily the
background of an image. This would have taken me
probably longer in photoshop to do that or using any other tool that
removes background. But I can remove
imperfections like this. If I wanted to, I can go
to remove, I can go here, and I can really
be I can go here, and I can just fix all these little
imperfections to get the right effect,
the right results. For what I want to achieve. Okay, that's good enough. I'm going to press keep. I'm not even checking
the other ones, the other versions of
the generative feel. Now I want to change my outfit. There's nothing wrong
with this outfit, but I just wanted to show
you how you can go about it. I can go here and press
insert in this case. When you want to insert
something new in your image, you need to go to insert. I'm going to make sure that
my brush is big enough here. I'm going to go to settings. The hardness is 90, which is good enough, and then I'm going to go
and I'm going to basically Okay. Go around the My outfit, first of all, around the
perimeter of whatever object, whatever, item you
want to change. I'm going to keep my arm there
to make it more realistic. And you don't be necessarily precise here
when you do selection because firefly will
be clever enough to fill up those gaps and those imperfections
as much as possible. Let's make this brush
a little bit bigger. We're going to go here and we're going to get rid of this shirt. And we're going to
make this selection. It takes a little
bit, of course, it depends on the
image you're using. I'm going to try to be
as precise as possible. Of course, if you go overboard, you can still subtract and
get back what you lost. And we go. Now here as well. Also with the neck when you're trying
to do neck selection, make sure you select as much
neck as possible because you want to make sure
that when you change outfit using generative fill, you want to give
firefly as much room as possible to create
something believable. Because this is going
to be, of course, artificial intelligence,
kind of creative touch. But we go. Now we're going to go
into the description. I'm going to say a black suit. That's it. Going to
make it very easy. Let's see what it
does. Of course, the black suit
have long sleeves. Here, I've got a little bit of my arm uncovered and
let's see what it does. It does quite a good job. I think the second one
is quite believable. I'm going to just press more, and let's see if I can
change the outfit to be a little bit more suitable
for my body shape. I think I think we
reached a verdict now. I think we're going
to go for this one, because I don't know why we
put this microphone in front. I don't know why, but I'm
going to just keep this. And this is the end
results of our image. So this would have taken me quite a few hours
to do in photoshop. For the suit,
changing the suit in photoshop wouldn't
been easy at all, because you have to, you know, find the right suit and
the right you know, the right perspective as well. It wouldn't be easier,
you know, up until now. So this is what you can achieve
using generative field. So ever go with this and
with your own images, and I'll see you
in the next video.
27. Generative Fill in Photoshop: Okay. Hopefully, you
have experimented enough generative field
within Dobby firefly. Now is the time to do the
same thing in photoshop. We are within a
photoshop at the moment, and we're using this image, which is the acoustic
guitar image that you find in
your exercise file. Feel free to use that or any other images
with no background, essentially. So
this is the image. Now what we can do
to basically create a background would be just by
going to a selection tool, here on the left hand side. Just use the rectangular tool. You can highlight the image, and now we are ready
to generate something. Now, if I go directly into
generative field here, I can type, for instance, something like white
sandy white sand. And I'm going to press generate. So this will be quite
similar to a Dobby firefly. It's going to
generate something, but we're going to
notice something completely different in
terms of applications. We're going to see now
a Sandy sandy beach, like a white sand. You got three different results. Of that. You also
see the versions, you see them actually here on the right hand side as well. You can actually click
on them and you can also delete them from here if
you don't like one of them. But now, if you want
to apply the image, the guitar that we just
had onto the send, what we can do, we
can actually drag this layer that we see here
on the right hand side. And we're going to drag
it down to make sure that the guitar over
impose on top of it. But as you can see, the image, the two images, the guitar and the send are not really
embedded together. They are not really
blending together. The completely
different shadows, different perspective,
and doesn't know the picture does not
belong to the background. And this is not what we
really want to achieve here. We generative feel
we can actually make even more improvement
to this picture. So in this case here, you notice I've
got my generative feel layer here
and my white sand, and this is something
that we need to scrap to start again. We're going to just
select that and press spec space to delete it. But in this case, what we want
to do we want to actually select the surrounding
of our guitar. In order to do
that, we need to go into the layer here and what you need to do we need to
just place the cursor on the actual thumbnail
here of the guitar. Before we click on
it, you hold down the command key or control key
in window and click on it. What it does, it will highlight
the actual object here. Now, we want to do the opposite.
We want to invert that. We want to actually
select the background, not the object itself. We want to retain the object. In order to do that,
we need to click on the invert pattern that we find down below here and it is
actually this one here. So if you have a curse
over this icon and you just leave it for a few seconds, it will
tell you what it does. Invert selection. We're
going to click on that. So it looks like nothing happened by actually
happened, something. You have now the
background selected, and but the guitar. So the guitar is not selected,
just the background. And now we are ready to
create a background. And this is very important
in order to blend the object that you want to highlight with the background. So we're going to click
on generative feel, and we're going to write
white sand. Very simple. I'm going to click on generate And let's see what happened
now with a W firefly, generating a Sandy background and see if it blends
it with the guitar. And as you can see, now we have sort of the layout of the
guitar also in the sand. We have three options, and three different
versions, got this one here. This one with also the
lie shadow on the side, very, very clever, and then
we have this one here. So we can choose one of these. We can have different
versions of it. Let's go to generate again, and let's give it another go, even though I'm quite happy with the first version
here of the guitar. Again, if you keep on generating images within this project, you need to be careful
because the project can become quite big. So be aware of that. Now we have these
other versions. Not quite this one.
This one is okay. It's got the shadow
here on the side, which is not really what I want. I think I'm with I
quite like this image. So this is the one
that I want to keep. And as you can see, when you
select the one you want is going to be highlighted here on the right hand side
of your sidebar. You can delete the other ones. So if you don't need
it, just press the bin, and you can delete
the other ones. So the project won't be as big. And this is how you can essentially blend backgrounds
with an object in order to promote it
or in order to make a nice brochure or nice
posture of something. So you can use this in
many, many different ways. So ever go with that and I'll see you in the next video. Okay.
28. Multiple prompts: Now we're going to take a
slightly different approach with generative feel. We're going to open
the same image that we used before acoustic
red guitar PNG. You find this file into
the exercise files folder. Now, once we're here, we're
going to basically apply multiple prompts to
create a composition. The first things
we're going to do, we're going to rotate
this guitar a little bit. We're going to go
into the crop tool here on the left hand side. Once you select that, we're
going to go and we're going to have a cursor
over one of these edges. You see the curved arrow appearing and then
we're going to basically Make sure that guitar is slightly
more up right. Then we're going to select the guitar and
we're going to make sure that The guitar is nice and selected
and pressed done. Now the guitar is a
bit more upright. We're going to expand here. What we want to
create is a window. Basically, the guitar is leaning
on the side of a window, and we have a nice beach view with some palm trees as well. So we're going to
essentially extend this frame, this Canvas. By going to the crop tool again, we don't click on that again. We're going to now
extend our field view, we're going to zoom
out command minus to go a bit zoom out. Big smaller in Windows is
control minus, I believe. Then we're going to go up here. We're going to extend this image to have a little
bit more room for a nice glass window with
a beautiful beach view. We're going to make sure
that the The floor, got a little bit
space for the floor. And let's say we want to
have it slightly like this. And then once we
ready press done. So this is how you can have a different Canvas
for your composition. Now we're going to select our guitar, we're going
to go to command. Hold down command or
control in window and click on the layer here to
select the guitar. And now we're going
to invert that by clicking on the
invert button here. We're going to click
on it to invert, and that will invert the selection for the
rest of the image. So it will blend the guitar
within our generation. And now we're going to go into generative field and
we're going to type a glass window with Beach view and palm trees. Let's click on generate, let's see what sort
of image we're going to get out of firefly. See if he understands that
I want to have the guitar leaning either on the windows or on the side of the window, and I want to have a
beautiful view and see if this composition
is going to come out the way I envision it. This will take a little
bit of iterations. So this is one way looks like more a balcony than a window. But let's have a look at
the second one is this. The third one is this, which is actually not
too bad this one. It is just took this in
a different perspective. Actually, I'm going
to keep this. This wasn't what I actually
initially planned, but I'm going to
keep this as it is, and now we're going to
add another object. Now we're going to go into
the selection to here, which is the second
icon from the top here on the top left photoshop. We're going to highlight
something like a section. Let's say here, and I'm going to just go to
generative fill, and I'm going to type a
leafy green exotic plant. Okay, and press generate. So now within that selection, We're going to see
something appearing. Let's have a look if firefly
does the magic for us and makes a plant that blend together with
the rest of our image. Okay, we have the first
one here, got the second, which looks a little bit fake
because of the lighting. Lighting is so important
into an image. This is the third one. I would say it's more into, I think it blends better
with the rest of the image. This is also quite
nice, actually. Uh, I'm going to
keep this one here. I quite like this one here. I'm going to just
leave it as it is. Now, if I want to extend
the view of my image, I'm going to use
another tool that we're going to cover
in the next video. But practice with this,
and as you can see, you can add objects with multiple prompts within
the same composition. So ever go with this and I'll
see you in the next video, and I'm going to show you
generative expand. Okay.
29. Generative Expand: Another technique
that we can use in photoshop is generative expand. This is achievable by
extending the image, asper ratio and size and essentially let firefly
generate something for us or even using a
prompt by generating the remaining area that we want to actually create from scratch. Now, we're going to go
into our crop tool here and we're going to essentially change the option that
we have here on top, as transparent default
to generative expand. We're going to click
on that. And now we're going to zoom out a
little bit because we want to extend the view of our image
to be a little bit wider. So we have a perspective
that does that. I want to be able to
have this sort of image. Now, I'm not going to
write anything here. I want to see a firefly
does a better job than me by creating something
out of nothing. I'm going to generate. And let's see what sort of
things is going to create, if he's going to
extend that window. If he's going to understand that there is a plant there and he's missing the kind of
the vase down below there, the flooring as well. Let's see what results we get. Okay, so this is very good
results. The first one. Of course, we have some
water here going on, which is not very good. I mean, I thought that was good because of the window
and the extension there. But let's have a look at
the second version of it. Okay, we have the vase and it's not wet on the
floor, which is a good. The good thing not having
a flood in the house. And the third one has a different kind of
view for the vase, and the guitar looks like it's actually leaning
on something else there. But I think this is probably what I would
probably go for. Otherwise, you can
go to generate and see if we go say if we have an three versions of
our generative expand. And by the way, when you do
this generations, of course, you have all the
variations here, all the versions here
on the right hand side. Make sure you don't clutter
this with lots of images because it will make your
project huge in size. So I'll probably suggest you to delete the images
that you don't want. So that's the first option here. The second option is this one, which actually makes the
view a little bit better, and this is the third one. I think it changes
the perspective of the window just slightly. The vase here is a
bit unrealistic. Uh, here, it's better, but the guitar looks like it
is fluctuating somewhere. I'm going to create
something now, and I'm going to zoom in. I'm going to go into command plus or control plus in window, or you can actually
use the space bar, hold down the space bar
and then with the mouse, you can actually move in the area you are
interested in going. And the guitar here is
floating, which is not good. We're going to create something. We're going to go into
the selection tool here on the left hand side. And now we're going to highlight an area next to the guitar. And I'm going to create a
stool or actually a guitar. Okay. Holder. Let's see what it does. I'm not entirely sure I've never done actually this before, creating a guitar holders and specific objects
within Photoshop. Let's see if firefly is clever enough to fix
that problem for me. Okay. That one is the first one, the second one and the third one actually did a pretty good
job for the second one, and I will probably just
keep that as it is. That one is, could
be a guitar holder, guitar stand, and I'm going
to leave that as it is. The only thing that's
missing in this picture is the remaining part
here, of the house. It's nice view, but it
looks like the guitar, it's kind of left on
the side on its own, which is a bit sad, and also
the composition doesn't look as clear as I
would like that to be. So I'm going to go
back to the crop here on the left hand side. And I'm going to use
generative expand, so make sure that the top
here when it says feel, it says generative expand. And we're going to
expand. These are the area of our beach house. And let's see now If let's see now the
generative field does a good job in terms of compensating the remaining
part of this room. So by using different prompts,
process of iterations, experiment with
different expands and different perspective, this is a beautiful first
version of our image. There's a little
bit of artifacts here at the top of this palm. Let's go to the second one, which has a little bit
more realistic view and the third one here, which is kind of this
fuzzy view of the plants, which I don't really like. Let's have a look at the first. The first one was this,
which kind of had a little bit more extension
in terms of room. Second one. I quite
like the second one, but I don't like that plant. I would have to recreate that. Again, if you like a perspective like this and you
want to retain it, you can still go back here, highlight the plant and then
create a different plant. In this case, I
don't want to touch that too much because
I quite like this one. I'm going to keep this, and this is the sort of result you can get Photo command
zero or control zero. It will adapt the image to the window that you
have in photoshop. And that is a sort of
result you can get out of generative expand
generative feel and all the different prompts
and you can apply on a picture and a composition. Fun with this, and I'll see
you in the next video. Okay.
30. Further edit to your composition: While we're working
on our composition, creating new prompts, using creating expand
and generative feel, we might want to change
some of the object that we created with something
else in the later stage. In this case here, I want
to see if I can find a better guitar holder
for my guitar here. So I can go on the
layers section here and click on
the guitar holder. So when I click on it, it's
going to basically apply whatever change I want only on the guitar holder without
affecting anything else. I can go down below here and generate other guitar holders. I'm going to just
leave it as it is, guitar holder and
press generate. Let's see what other
versions I get. Okay, so if I zoom in, I can actually see the image slightly bigger,
I've got that one. I've got this one. It's kind of making up the guitar holders. I've never seen this ones here, but I think I'm going
to stick with this one. So this is going to
be my guitar holder. I'm not going to try to do
more. This is enough for me. So once you know
which one you want, a good practice
would be going to the version here,
the variations. Select basically the
variation you want. You can select different
ones and delete the rest. The reason why I
say that is because it will take a lot of
space in your project. So make sure you only keep
the one that you selected. You can find this project
in the exercise file, but bear in mind,
for each layer, you're only going to find
one image because I kept only the image that I wanted
for that composition. Otherwise, the file would
have been too big to share. Now, we're going to also delete others plans that we
don't want to have. And we're going to add
another object here. We're going to go into
the selection tool again. This is a good practice,
and we're going to go here and we're going to
highlight a section. And we want to add here
a leather armchair. Let's see if it does a good
job in creating one armchair. In this case, a
leather armchair. We have first one,
the second one. Third one, I'm going to
generate another three. This one could be acceptable.
Can we have this one? This one and this one. Okay. This one can work out. I'm going to generate
other three. I give it a last try. This can work but the lighting. The probably from some spotlight on top of the room can work. One of the arm chair here. One of the arm is actually
higher than the other one. It doesn't really work for me. This one is too classy. This I will probably
stick with This one here. And that's what I'm going
to leave it for now. The rest of the images here
on the right hand side, I'm going to delete, and I'm going to keep
only the one that I want. I'm just going to make
sure all my layers has only one image. And that's how you generate multiple prompts and
completely revolutionize the way you create images with adobe firefly
and photoshop. Okay.
31. Limitation in Generative Fill: Before we carry on
with this class, I want to point out the
limitations that we have with generative feel and generative
expand within Photoshop. As Atmos recording,
which is April 2024, the resolution the
cap that we have in Photoshop is 1024 pixels. As you can see here on this Google search says understanding the
10204 limitation. When using generative
feel photoshop caps, it's rendering resolution
at 1024 pixels, and it here says as
of November 2023. Even though we are in 2024, we still have this limitation. You might have noticed
when you open this file, acoustic red guitar in
beachfront house dot PNG, that this file is
quite big in size. If you go into the image on top and you click
on image size, You might notice that
this image is huge. It's actually 12,000 pixels
by almost 6,000 pixels. So that is quite big in size. So we have a basic
limitation of 1,000 pixels. So with generative feel
and generative expand. So you might have
noticed some fuzziness, some blurriness in the image. And as you can see
here, my plant here, for instance, is
fuzzy, quite blurry. And if you look
around the image, you might notice that is not as crisp as you might
want it to be. So I did a quite a good
job on this plant, though, but the guitar is quite sharp, but the rest is not quite
sharp as the guitar. To fix this, we would
have to basically regenerate these objects
one piece at a time. What I mean by that is
we need to generate 1024 pixel by 1024, manually. So we're going to go
into the selection two here on the left hand side, and on top of it says
style, it says normal. We're going to instead
use fixed size. And here under width and height, we're going to just put 1024. I put 1,000 just to make it. Easier. So put 1022 by 1024. And when you click
anywhere in the image, now you have this little square. Now if I want to regenerate
one of these objects, let's say I'm going
to go to this vase here and I'm going to zoom in. Now, the plant is not too bad, but the vase looks a
little bit blurry. Comparing to our guitar,
which is very sharp. Everything else is quite blurry. To fix this, what we can do, just click on that and point
at the vase in this case, is within the 21,000
pixel by 1,000 pixels, click on generative fiel, and I go to click generate and see if it's going to
create something sharper. So this is kind of the way we need to approach
our huge images, in order to fix those blurness, those imperfections, let's
see what's happening here. We have now a probably
definitely sharper vase, see if we have any
other version of it. I'm going to generate more
and looks like these vas are not very good in terms of shape, the resolution, though,
it's definitely better. One, two, and three. I'm going to probably
try another time. We're not very lucky this
time in generating vases, but We give it another try. Okay, this looks definitely
better, definitely better. I'm going to go
for this one here. Okay, this looks definitely
sharper than the other vase. And if you can see
the composition now, it looks better. Let's
go to the other one. Same thing. When I click on it, as you can see, is 1,000
1,000 pixel square. So it just gives you an idea
of how big this image is. So we're going to go here and we're going
to do the same thing. We're going to
congenerative fill and press generate. We're
going to zoom in. We're going to wait until
Firefly does its magic. And let's see if we have a
better fuzz than that one. And let's zoom in, and let's see what
other versions we have. Definitely not this one, going to generate another one. Be aware of these limitations. We were working with
a very huge image, and that happens, especially when you use generative expand. If you want to expand an
existing image to be bigger. Be aware of the fact that you
might have blurriness going on when you generate
the remaining area, the missing area of an image. So you would have to work 1024 pixels by 1000241 at a time. You definitely going to
have better results. Okay, let's stick with this. I'm going to press command
zero. Control zero. Definitely our vases
now look way better. In terms of the plant itself, we would have to go
and in this case, I would have to fix the plantau I have to go into one
area of the plant, go to generative field
and press generate, and that will make the
area of the image sharper. We would have to do the same
thing if you want to extend, expand this image to make it
wider or to make it deeper. And as you can see, now,
the plant area there, it's definitely sharper, and I can do the same
thing for the rest. I can just select another area. Let's say I'm going to
go to this leaf here. I'm going to just do this
one, and I'm going to stop. Otherwise, you know, this
video is going to be too long, but I just want to show
you what you can do to fix those blurrness,
those imperfections. Okay. The third
version, it's fine. Come on zero. Now, the picture definitely looks better
than what we had before. And if you see comparing
to the first image, if I just over impose the first image and put it
all the way at the top, you'll notice this is
what we had before, and this is what we have now. That's the difference.
As you can see, the vases resolution here are blurry and here
are much sharper. The leaf as well, actually much better here
than they were before. So bear in mind, you
have the limitation. If you want to also extend
the image and make a bigger, you would have to
also select an area. So you would have to
go into the crop. We're going to zoom out. You're going to
extend the image. And now that we have
the transparent area here, we're going to press done. If I want to generate
remaining area here, I can go on top under selection, and I can go to fixed size. Now when I click on the image, I've got this little square, and that will allow
me to then select an area and press
generative field. Make sure you include a little bit of the
area that you want to clone or you want firefight to take as a reference
and then press generate. And that will generate a sharper rendering of
the image of that part, rather than have a fuzzy area. And you would have to go
on doing the same sort of thing to extend the
rest of the image. This will take, of course, longer to generate your image. But of course, you're
going to have also a list of generative field
here on your layer side. But again, you're going
to have definitely better results if
you use this method. In case you want to
then expand without having to worry about the
fuzziness of the image. What you need to
do is simply go to the style, go back to normal. Highlight the entire area here. Let's say I want to highlight
that area there only. I can click on generative
field and click on generate. And you might notice
that is not as sharp as you might think it would be
because of these limitations. This is going to basically approximate and
it's going to make the pixelation more
evident and more visible. Now, it did quite a good job, but if you trying to zoom in, you'll notice it's not as sharp as areas that you have here, see this palm outside the
window, it's much sharper. The area here is not as sharp, but in this case, for this sort of image,
it might work out. But, for instance,
the frame is not as sharp as you might
want that to be for, you know, for the
rest of the image, just to make sure that
everything is consistent. So you would have to
basically work out pixel, 10,000 pixel at a time. So as long as you're
aware of that, let's make sure
that your image is nice and sharp and
you're happy with that, and I'll see you
in the next video.
32. Generative Fill Automations: With the release of
generative fiel. Now we can automate
actions within Photoshop. I'm going to show
you how to do that with a bunch of
images that we have. You should find this image on the exercise files
the portraits. Now, what we're going to do, we're going to
essentially change the background of this image. And we also happen to have
other portraits here. Now, here we have five images, but you can have as many as
you want within a folder. And we're going to go
back to Photoshop now. Okay, the first thing
we're going to do, we're going to go
into windows on top, and we're going to
enable actions. After we here, we're
going to basically create a new default actions. We're going to go
into the plus cycon here down below at the bottom. And we're going to call
this P ground generator. We're going to
just press record. Then we need to
record a series of actions in order to
change the background. They will have to be repeated automatically by
Photoshop for us. I'm going to click on record. The first thing
we're going to do, we're going to
select the subject. And now we're going to go
into select on the top. We're going to go into
modify the contract. We wanted to make
sure essentially that the silhouette here is a
little bit contracted. Let's say five pixel
will be enough. So when we do that, now, as you can see the
silhouette now, the highlighting area line is actually a little bit inward. This will let the background blend better with the subject. Now what we need to do we
need to invert the selection. We're going to make
sure that everything else is selected,
but the subject. And now we're going to
go into generative field and we're going
to type a prompt. So the prompt is this, bouquet
effects of night lights, sparkling L designs,
colorful lens flare. I'm going to click Generate. So this will generate now three different backgrounds
that we can choose from. I'm going to just leave the
first background for now, and we're going to let now
Generative field do its job. As you can see, we have now
a different background. Now we want to save this. We're going to go into file. We're going to save
A were going to save in the same folder
where the other porches are cli cononsave. Press. Okay. Now we need
to basically close this, and we're going to b
now finish the action. We're going to go into window, and we're going into actions, and we're going to stop the recording by
clicking on stop. So now that we
recorded this action, we can go into file. And before we do that, shock we're going to go
back to the folder. We're going to delete that portrait PSD that
is being created. Just to make sure
that everything is clean and ready to go. Now we have these five images, we're going to go
back to Photoshop, and we're going to
perform an automation. We're going to go to file,
automate batch, Now, the set should be
under default actions, and actions would be now our background generator
down below here. We're going to make sure the folder is the
same folder where the rest of the portraits
are and click on Choose. This is the folder,
press choose. On the destination, we're going
to make sure that it says save and close,
and now we press. Now photoshop is
going to perform all these actions for all the images that we
have in that folder. To create essentially three
different backgrounds for each individual photos, and it's going to save these into each individual
photoshop file. So this is very time saving
because with one action, we can literally perform lots of different changes
on multiple images. Okay, now the work is finished, we're going to close photoshop. We're going to go into
our portraits folder. And as you notice, now we have five different photoshop files. So for each of them,
we have our subject, and we have the background
that we wanted. Now, if you want to amend
any of these background, all you need to do
is simply double click It's going to
open that in photoshop. And down below here,
we have the bar where we can choose a
different background. So we can go and
just decide which one fit best for our subject. If we like the one we want, on need to simply
just close that. It's going to ask us to save. I'm going to press
save, and now I can close that and now the
background is being applied. This is a huge time saver for
any one of us that wants to perform automations
and repetitive tasks with generative feel
within Photoshop.
33. Generative Expand in Firefly Updates: Welcome back. As we speak, Adobe has released
another couple of features within
Adobe Firefly, and one of them is generative
expand within far fly. Before we could only use
this within Photoshop, but now we can use it
directly in Firefly. If you scroll down here, you see you have new
SS generative expand. You can also use
generative feel here and then use the expand
function there as well. I'm going to click on try it. So we have now the same
layout that we saw before. This is just an
image from a sample. But as you can see, now we can use the expand by simply just dragging the Canvas
to make it larger. We can go here and you can
even choose a landscape, we can choose y screen,
you can choose portrait. You can do whatever
you like. Let's say we want to do a portrait actually, and I'm going like generate. This is pretty exciting now. You can actually do it directly on the browser on firefly. You don't have to
necessarily use photoshop. If you don't have
photoshop subscription and you want to
just use a firefly, you can definitely do that. Pretty amazing. You can
actually go back into Expand. You can now choose three different versions
of the animal hair, and you can actually click
on more if you want to have more options, more
generating fills. Otherwise, you just press cancel and you can just make this expand even go bigger
and press generate. This is a free form Canvas, and now I'm basically
generating well, fireflies generating all the missing parts
within this image. So pretty amazing. I just a few seconds, I've got a complete
different scenario here. I've got a couple
of options here, lying on the grass, lying
on this other fields. And you can click on
more and you can get you more options,
more scenarios. More generative ideas. Amazing. This is probably
best than the other one. I think this is my favorite one. So that's what you can
do now within a firefly. Generative expand is in F one and I'll see you in
the next update. Okay.
34. Assignment with Generative Fill and Expand: The assignment for
this module is to apply what we covered so far, which is generative field
and generative expand. The first thing I want you
to do is to essentially use generative expand to make this image bigger on
the left hand side. All you need to do is simply expand this area here where you find the rest of this
lake After you expand, you can create something here. I would like you to
create something in this area here,
whether is a house, whether is a cabin, whether anything that you can think of. Then I would like you to add here something whether it
is a boat or anything else. Then I also would
like you to try to make this area here a
little bit more appealing. Also, I would like you to create a bridge that goes from
here perhaps to here, or you can have the freedom to create
something different. Also, as the last thing I would
like you to do and to try is to perhaps create something here in the
middle of the lake, whether it's a
floating restaurant or floating platform or an
island, whatever you like. Try to add these elements. Just to recap, you
need to create generative expand by expanding
the left hand side of this image and then use generative feel to
create one two, three, four and five elements. If you feel like you
want to add more, feel free to do that, and this is the assignment
for this module. Okay.
35. Assignment Solution: Okay, welcome back.
Hopefully, you have done the assignment. This is the solution or
one possible solution for this assignment. The first thing that
I ask you to do is to use generative expand, and this is something
that we need to do on this area of the image
on the left hand side. The first thing
we're going to do, we're going to click on the crop tool here on
the left hand side, and then you would
have to make sure that on the field here on top, you have the generative
expand selected. Once you've done that, you can actually drag this area here. Let's say we're going
to go up to here. And then we're going to click
on Generate down below. We're going to leave
this prompt area blank and let far
fly do its job. Now we have the rest
of the lake here. Now, the second thing that
I ask to do is to use generative feel in this area
here by creating something. So we're going to go
into the selection tool here on the left hand side. We're going to
highlight an area. And we're going to just
create here something. We're going to have
here a wooden cabin, rounded by green, if plants. That's it by leafy glands
and press generate. This is the first solution. Then we have the second
one and the third one. I'm going to generate again
because I actually had a little bit of better results the first time I
was trying this. By the way, you find a image of this in the solution folder where you see what
I've done in that one. But I'm just trying to doing
this along the way with you, so you see how I go about it. Okay. This definitely looks
better than the other one. The second one and
the third one. I think I'm going to go
for the first one here. Now, the other element
was a boat here. I'm going to just
highlight an area, and I just say boat as simple as that,
and press generate. Okay, so this is
the first solution, the second variation and the third one quite like this one, but I think I'm going to go
for the first one because it's very similar
to my cabin here. Then I'm going to make this area here a little bit
more appealing. I'm going to just say here. Garden. I'm just going to give Firefly very simple
prompts so that has got enough to work around and to elaborate the
surrounding of my image. Okay. So that's the first
solution for my garden. Second one. Is quite
nice and the third one. So it's quite green
here and yellow. I quite like actually this
contrast with, you know, this tulip, I believe there or some sort of other kind
of flowers, red flowers. I'm going to stick
with this. Then I'm going to put some lipa. So I'm going to just
highlight another area. And I'm going to
just say, let's see, three back packers and
just press generate. Now, sometimes when
you put numbers of elements in this case,
three backpackers, may not create exactly
three, it might create two, or it might create
more, it depends on the area you
highlight as well. Let's have a look if
we are lucky enough to get exactly what we
actually prompt. Okay, we have actually
four here, but it's okay. That's fine. This is
the first solution. The second one followed my
prompt and the third one. Let's see. The one that I
think I'm going to try, I think I'm going to try
with the second one. That's perfect. Also,
proportionally speaking, this looks a little bit
taller than this actual hat. So I'm going to
just want to make a little bit more
proportionate solution here, proportion you know choice. The other thing we wanted
to add was a bridge. So I'm going to add a bridge from I'm going to try to
do something similar here. Now, something different
to the one that I actually saved in the
folder and that you have. So I'm going to go back
here. I'm going to highlight this time using the rectangular to and go back here and press
and just type a bridge. Okay. First solution,
nothing, second. Third one, it kind of
created something here. I'm going to just press generate
and give it another go. Sometimes you have
to try probably two, three, four times.
It really depends. Or sometimes you have to
probably re select an area. It takes a little
bit of attempts to get exactly what you want. Okay. It looks like trying
to create a platform here, which is not exactly
what we want. Okay, so I'm going to
try again this time, I'm going to type
a wooden bridge. I'm going to try to be a little
bit more specific and see if this time we are lucky to
get exactly what we want. We have a platform there.
This looks like a bridge. The third one is
just a platform. I'm going to keep this for now. This is our bridge as
the best result so far. The other one, the other
element that I ask you to add was some sort of
floating element here, which could be an island, it could be a platform, it could be a
restaurant or anything. I'm going to just type here, a floating restaurant.
Let's see what it does. On the example that you have
in the assignment folder, you should be seeing a sort of a little floating house in
the middle of the lake. Let's see what we get now. We have something
there going on. The second one is a floating
looks like more boat. And these are two boats as well. I'm going to just
press generate again. I'm going to give
it another try. Okay. And bear in mind, this image is quite big. And if you watch the limitation that we have with Ado firefly
in terms of resolution, you might notice that there are some pixelation sometimes, or the picture is not exactly as sharp as
you might think. Okay. This is the first attempt, second attempt. Third attempt. I think I'm going
to go for the first one is a platform here, and that's it for
the assignment. So we created some life. We created something
here, a garden. We created a boat, a
bridge, a platform, and this little cabin as well, and feel free now to take
advantage of these tools, and I'll see you
in the next video.
36. Introduction to Generative Recolour: Welcome to this section,
we're going to talk about another feature
within Adobe firefly, which is generative recolor. Now, we are in the main
page here in Adobe firefly. We're going to scroll down here, and you should be able to
see generative recolor here. Now, this is run within
Adbbie Illustrator. So if you click on Learn More, you can actually
see a little bit of the features here
on the main page. Feel free to ever read here and see if you like it or something that
you're interested in. But essentially
what Adobe firefly does with this feature
is allowing you to generate colors from a
prompt to change an artwork. It's a very, very
useful feature, and I'm going to show
you that just now. We're going to open
a Illustrator, and if you open the file fruit composition black
and white dot SVG. This is something
you're going to find in the folder within
the exercise files. This is a fruit composition
and is black and white. I'm going to show you how
with generative recolor, you can actually recolor and create a palette
completely from scratch. Now, to enable this, if you go to edit at the
top here on the menu bar, and you go into edit color, you have an option that
says generative recolor. Now, the reason why
it is graded out is because we need to highlight
the artwork first. We're going to go to the
selection tool here. Pressing V, and just
highlight the artwork. Once it is highlighted,
you're going to go to edit, we're going to go
into edit colors, and we're going to go
to generative recolor. So this will open this
palette of different options. And by the way, if
you want to open this section here in
another way is by just selecting the artwork
again and by clicking on the recolor button down
below here. Same thing. You're going to have
exactly the same options. You just need to go from
recolor to generative recolor, and you're going to have
exactly the same options. Now, on top, you have
an option to create a prompt to actually describe how you want
those colors to be. Now, down below, you also have an option to choose
one of these samples. We have quite a few here, you've got nine, and you also have advanced
options as well. Now, now we're going
to explore the prompt, first of all, and
then we're going to try one of these samples. So a description would
be, for instance, a modern vibe of red and purple. Click on generate can
be anything you like. So now, it's going to generate four different variations
from that description. As you can see, I've got red
and purple in a modern vibe. So if I click on one of these, it's going to apply
that to my artwork. So as you can see, I can go
to four different variation. And if I want to, I can just use these three dotted icon next to the variation
that I want. If I want to mark
as a good result, as a bad result, if
I want to delete, you can do that as well. Also, you can experiment
using sample prompts here. So if I click on a
little arrow next to it, I can choose one of these. For instance, if I want to
choose yellow submarine, I can go here, and this
is going to give me four variations of that sample. Let's have a look
at this one here. Quite yellowish. This one's got some fluorescent
greens as well. So you can literally
try to many variations, and you can also select certain
areas within the artwork. You can also
regenerate that using the same prompt
yellow submarine and see what sort of
other variations you get out of that.
Let's have a look. And we get other four
variations. More interesting. You got an orange,
you got more blacks, more yellows, a good contrast and dark contrast as
well, which is very nice. You also have an option
on top to recolor. So this will allow you to
access to these color palettes, and you can actually
move this to variate essentially to
a variation of colors. Manually, and
sometimes you might find very good vibe colors here. Very good combinations. And of course, you have prominent
colors down below here, which allows you to drag
left and right the color you want to be more prominent
within the same image. Down below here, you also
have a couple of sliders. The one here on the left
allows you to change the brightness of your
colors and the hue, and the second one
here allows you to change the saturation
of that color. So you have plenty of control, and you also have plenty
of control on top here, because these, of
course move together, but you can also unlink them
by clicking on this link. And then you can just
move individually all the colors that you would like to add into your artwork. So you have plenty of flexibility here in
order to use recolor. But generative recolor
is where you can actually get your
creative flow by describing whatever you like and create amazing color
palettes for your art. I'll see you in the
next video for more.
37. Endless colour combinations: So let's just pick up
where we left off. And let's try to see and explore as much as
possible in terms of how we can create and generate lots of different kind of
combinations for our colors. Now, as you can see, I left off with yellow submarine
from the previous lesson. Now, I might have changed a little bit because
I was tweaking a little bit my prompts
and my variations here. But let's say we want to have another element that
will alter our prompt. Let's say, now we have
yellow submarine. But we also want to use some
colors here on the palette. I actually be able to add a color that I like
within the same prompt. So if I want to go to plus here and I want
to add a palette, all I need to do is simply go to the palette
here on the color, and I can just simply select by dragging this lider
somewhere in the middle, so I can actually
see the spectrum of colors down below here, and I can just color
pick whatever I like. Let's say I like
this cyan color, sort of turquoise, y and color, And basically, as soon
as I pick up the color, it's going to be added
to my list here. I can actually go
into, for instance, a more on my magenta color.
And we go. It's there. Now, if I want to see the combination between
yellow submarine and that, actually, I want to
change submarine. I don't really need
to have that into it. I'm going to put just yellows, leave it like this
and press generate, and let's see what sort of combination we're going
to get out of this. And then we go now, we
have four variations with yellows and
my magenta color. And there we go. We
got that variation. Now, if you want to
change that even more, we can click on generate to
create more combinations. We can also have a control over the palette by going
to re color here on top. When you do that, have the
spectrum here, the color will, and I can actually move
this around my spectrum. This looks like sort of
a triad combination. Tricmbination looks like uses opposites or in
between each other. So if I choose a color here, it's going to choose
something on this side and on this side as well
as a combination. I'm going to show you this color harmony just in a second. So these are just the way that the color behaves
between each other. So I'm just moving
my color wheel to experiment different combination
quite like this color. And of course, you
have the options down below here to change
the prominent color. So if I want to have
less of a black, I can just move that to the
left to the right, actually. Change the color dramatically. If I want to have, for instance, more of this color, I can
drag that to the right. I can even go further and even change that
color even more. It will change completely the
feel of my color palettes. I can do that by clicking on the curved icon here on top to go back a few steps just to
retrieve what I had before. And also have got the
option here to change the brightness of my
colors and the hue, if I want to have the
saturation as well, of that to make it
very vivid like this. Another option we
got to go back to generative y color is by
using advanced options. Now, if you go to
advanced options, you'll be able to
actually use one of the color science,
color combination. If I click on this
pop up menu here, if acclicon harmony rules, these are all the different ways that you can combine colors. These are basically
mathematical equations that can be applied to prompt. So in this case, if I use complementary it's going to basically change
the colors here. To complimentary. Or if
I want to go to analogs, it's going to change
it to analogues. If you're not familiar with
these color harmonies, these are basically
mathematical equations that will be applied
to your prompt. If you want to find out
how these colors are basically combined together and what they mean, essentially, you have to go into the website, if you go to Chrome
and you can go to your browser and just
search color do ab.com. This is going to
show you this page, and you just need
to go to create color theme and press visit. Here, you can see on
the left hand side, we have color harmony. You can see you got all of these terminologies that you actually saw in
Adobe Illustrator. For instance, things like
complimentary or analogs. If you want to know
what analog is, you just need to go in here, click on analogs, and this
is what analogues means. For instance, if you pick up a colors that chairs yellow is going to pick up all the
adjacent color within yellow. If I move that old
way to Magenta, for instance, is going to pick up all the colors
adjacent to that. If I want to find out what
perhaps complimentary is, I can click on complimentary. And complimentary essentially is the opposite color of
what you picked up. For instance, if I picked
up something like magenta, the opposite color would
be green or bright green. If I want to go for
instance to a yellow, the opposite color
would be purple, and so on and so forth. If I want to find out other
terminology, let's say, try it, like we had before, now we have the sort
of combinations, and these are just
mathematical equations to see what sort of
color combination, it's more suitable for
what you want to do. For instance, you also
have shades and these are shades of the same color to give you a more different vibe and different character
to your color. Monochromatic is within
the same range of color. If I choose red, all
the different kind of red up to the dark one, if you want to choose, for instance, split
complementary, and this will give you
sort of a complimentary, but it will split the
opposite color in different directions to give you a more variety on
your color palette. Now, once you find out and figure out how this
color palette works, you can go back to Illustrator. I'm going to just close
this for a second. And now you can actually go
here and choose one of these. So if you want to experiment, for
instance, ponochromatic, I can click on
monochromatic there, I can click on, I can
go to my recolor here. And now you can see
my color wheel, is actually aligned
as a monochromatic, like the same sort of
shape that we saw before. And we can still tweak these
colors directly from here. I can go down here on the adjustment
brightness to make that brighter and to have brighter color on my
palette and on my design. I can go back to my saturations to have the more saturated. If you want them
to be more vivid. Perhaps I can go
to something like towards red or magenta, to have a little bit
more vivid colors. It really depends what
sort of vibe you want from that specific artwork. If I want to, for instance, add a little bit of yellow here, I can unlink that. And that will allow me
to actually move any of these dots in whichever
direction I want. So for instance, if I
want to get some yellow, as you can see, this is what is going to be affected so far. If I started to drag
stuff into the yellow, I can actually notice
what is going to affect, and I can just go and experiment
with different colors. And sometimes it's just
a matter of your taste. It doesn't have to be necessarily
a mathematical equation that will determine how you're going to choose your palette. Here, creativity
is the main word that you need to consider when you create the
color palettes. And after you actually find out that this is what
you want that we go, you can go back to
generative recolor, and you know you can still
experiment with other colors. You can even highlight
certain section here within the artwork and perhaps only change certain area
only if you don't want to affect the entire
the entire artwork. Or even go even just
smaller or you just select one single individual art there and then just go into recolor and perhaps you want
to change that. And, you want to experiment
as much as possible, you know, to see how it looks. Okay. Yellow it's
quite nice, actually. Go back to generative, recolor. And here, again, now it's
all about understanding the terminology
and going back to advanced options and choose
the color harmony from here. And as you can see now, you understand what they are, if you know the shape of the color harmony
you want to apply, you can just simply
click on one of these. Let's say I want to click
on left complement. Get that you can
just press okay. Then if you want to
experiment on top of this, you can go to recolor, you
can go to generative color, and you can actually
type another prompt, or you just co here and tweak your color wheel and to experiment more
different combinations. So you can create infinite
color palettes and colon combinations within
generative recolor. F f with that, and I'll
see you in the next video.
38. Generative Recolor in Mockups: One of the many applications where we can actually
experiment and use generative recolor
would be for mock ups, for products that
we want to sell, and we want to perhaps
demo to our clients. And one of them would be perhaps showing them our design on a g or on a T shirt or any
sort of merchandise that you're thinking to sell or to promote that design
to the company, or perhaps you are
thinking to sell merchandising using
your own design, and this is where recoloring would be amazing to
experiment with. Now, I've got this file, which is called T
shirt recoloring. You'll find this file
in the exercise files. I'm going to basically
demonstrate how two designs can look
like on a T shirt. Now I'm going to zoom in, and I'm going to go to
the first four designs. Now, as you can see, I've got a design that
we already know. We worked on this
in previous videos. I'm going to select
that the first T shirt, and I'm going to zoom
in just slightly. Have that a little bit bigger. And then we're going
to go into recolor. So make sure when you do that, you highlight the T shirt
and the design together. I've done it in such a way
that you can actually see both T shirt and design
changing at the same time. I'm going to click on recolor, and then we're going to go
into generative recolor. Now we can actually
use a prompt. I'm going to be
very simple here. I'm going to just type orange. And I'm going to
click on generate. So now I've got four
different designs here. I can click on the first
one with the green, and of course, the artwork
will change accordingly. I've got the second one,
the third and the fourth. Now, I can also
change that again. I can click on generate again to give me the four versions. And I'm going to show
you also other ways we can change the color, to have more fantasy, to have more styles,
and more mood. I quite like this one here, I quite like the black one actually that we have
before here this one here. We try some of the harmony
colors in the previous videos, and this is accessible by
going to advanced options. I'm going to click on that, and I'm going to click on the top here on this pop menu when
we have harmony rules. And now we can
choose one of these. We can go to complimentary. We can go to something
like analogs we can go to, for instance, triad or
even shades, as well. Let's see if we get a compound
as well, quite like it. Now I can click on. And if I
want to further experiment, I can go to recolor. I can go to my color wheel here, and I can just choose a different tone for
that pecific T shirt. And I can also unlock that
by unlinking it to just have more control on the
color within my graphics. I can change the blacks. I can change all the tones to be in adjacent
color palettes. In the neighborhood
of that color, I can actually change
those and make a completely different
design, which is amazing. I can also change the
prominent color here by going there and change
perhaps the T shirt, to be in a different color. If I want to go back, of course, I want to do what I've done. I can just press
that a couple of times to just go
back where I was. I can go to generative recolor and I can choose one
of these as well. I'm going to leave
this as it is. I'm going to go to
the second Thirt I'm going to highlight
the second tshirt I'm going to do the same thing. I'm going to go to recolor. Then I'm going to go into let's put this on the other side, so we keep consistency on
what we have on screen, and I'm going to go to
generative recolor, and I'm going to choose
one of these existing one. Lets say I'm going to
go to faded emerald. CT, and let's see
what sort of effect, what sort of color
combination we get. So we get that one, get
that one with the greens. We get that one here as well. Now, I can also choose to
have perhaps another color, which is going to
be prominent within this Al is going to be
present with this design. For instance, let's say
I want to have yellow. I'm going to go to
colors here on the top, press on the plus button, and I got con this color here. And by the way, if you
don't see this palette, the watches, you can
go to the color here. You can just simply move
one of these faders. To have this rainbow
of color down below here and you can choose your own color using the color picker. Or you can go to these watches, of course, and choose
your own color. Now, as soon as you click on the color is going
to be applied here, and now we are ready
to click on generate. Let's see what changes we're
going to have on our design, keeping the faded emerald city. Now we have these options with yellow tint into it,
which are quite like it. Let's try to keep this. Now I'm going to go down below, and I'm going to try the same
thing on this design here. And I'm going to go and
choose a sample prompt. I'm going to go to
Levander Storm. This could be good perhaps for a certain kind of clients
that light these warm colors. And these are the
colors that we applied. I'll actually apply on that one. I forgot to do something. I actually forgot to
highlight my T shirt. I have to highlight
the thir first, click on Recolor, and go to generative recolor
and click on Lavander. And I think I apply
that on top ready. But I can choose a
different tonality. Oh, I can choose
a different vibe. Let's say yellow submarine let's see what sort of effect
do we get. Let's see. Oh, I quite like this one here. Also, this one is very nice. I'm going to highlight
the last one, and I'm going to do
the same thing, color. I'm going to go here. I'm going
to choose a salmon sushi. I think I'm going to apply. This is a T shirt. Let's see. I'm going to try the red,
but I'm going to actually choose again, my yellow color. I'm going to click
on generate again, and let's see if applying a yellow makes the
design completely different or change
completely the way It looks. I'm going to just stick
with this one here. I'm going to go to the
second part of my t shirt. Again, I can just
highlight a section. I can press Command plus to go to that section there.
I can do the same thing. Now, I can just highlight the
T shirt again just to make sure I've got my color
wheel here and I can change the design
manually as well. This gives me completely
different vibe from the T shirt and from my jungle that you probably recognize
from previous videos. I can do the same thing for
the rest of the T shirt. So this just took me a few minutes just to
make this mock up. And this will be perfect to present to our clients,
to our customers, and even to promote this as a merchandise product
to sell online. So pretty exciting times
with generative color. I hope you enjoy it, and I'll
see you in the next video.
39. Introduction to text to Vector Graphic: In this section,
I'm going to show you text to vectorgraphics. This is a feature in
a Dobbie firefly that allows you to create
vector vectorgraphics, in this case, just by typing a description
of what you want, which is pretty amazing. The sky is the limit. I'm going to show you this starting from Adobe
firefly website. As you can see, I'm
in main page here. F I scroll down here,
you should be able to see all these little features, and one of them is
generate vector. And this is run in a
Adobe Illustrator. Now, I'm going to
click on learn more. This is going to show you
all the main features of text to vectographic. What we're going to do, we're
going to click on try now, and this will open Adobe
Illustrator within our computer. I'm going to click
on that to open, and now we are in
Adobe Illustrator. Now, if you don't
have that facility within Adobe firefly
website, do not worry. The next video I'm going
to show you how to create a vectographic
from scratch. So very me for now. Now, as you can see, I've
got this sample image, and I've got this
little square here when I can create a vector graphic. But before I generate anything, I just want to show you
the layout a little bit. When I click on
this square here, by the way, I can
just move the square, I can resize it by just moving the dots to make it
smaller or bigger, and that is as simple as that. Now, with adobe and with
any Adobe package nowadays, you have video tutorials
that will pop up whenever you click on any of these icons on the
left hand side. Which is very handy, and also you have video
tutorials as well, which make your life much, much easier, especially
if you want to try something new or some other new apps that
you never tried. A Dobbie has done an
amazing job in terms of making their apps as
user friendly as possible. Now, I'm going to skip
this video for now, but you can watch it
at your own leisure. I'm going to press G. And I'm going to basically go to properties here on
the right hand side, and here, you're
going to see all the different options that you have available within text
two vectographics. Now, I've got four different
types of vectorgraphics. I can click on this little icon here next to the description, just to show you that
you have an option to create a subject
to create a scene. T that you see here, these little mountains with
a river, this is a scene. Then we have icons, and we
also have patterns as well. Now, I'm going to
create a subject now just to show
you what it does. We are ready to square. I'm going to just press there. And if I want to have an idea of what sort of
subject I can draw, I can go to this little
light bulb here on the right hand
side of the prompt before I even type anything. I can click there and it's
going to show me what sort of things I can create
within this scenario. Okay. Let's say I'm going to go to colorful spaceship here. I'm going to click on
that and now he's going to give me the warning that, of course, this is
generative I apps, I'm going to have to agree
to that thermso conditions. That's fine. I'm
going to press agree, and now it's going to
generate that spaceship within this little square.
Let's see what we get. Again, we're going to get three different
versions like we get in photoshop when we're creating something using generative
feel. Same thing. Now we have this rocket here. As you can see, I've got
three different versions, I can just skim through them
by clicking on this button, and I've got three
lovely rockets. I also have the versions here on the right hand
side down below here. If I want to regenerate them, I click on generate better. Otherwise, I can simply
create something different. Now I can simply zoom to
make the rockets bigger. I can position it
the way I want. And the cool thing is that when you create an object
within a scene, firefly will
generate that object using the same color
palettes as the scene, to make it blend better. In this case here,
it looks like quite orange but if I want
to change and recolr, I can click on recolor, and that will give me
more options to recolry. I'm going to show you
this feature later on, so do not worry for now. Now, if I want to
create an entire scene, what I can do, click on this object and press
pec space to delete. If I want to highlight
the whole area here, I can go to the first
icon here on top, which has selection or press V. And I'm going to highlight
the entire section, and I'm going to click
on generate better. But before I do that, I need to make sure that
my type is the right one. In this case, if I click on
this icon next to the prompt, I'm still on the subject. I need to go under scene
and scene will generate an entire scene for my
frame for my cavas here. If I click on here on the
prompt and I delete a prompt, you'll notice I've got
the light bulb again. To give me some idea
of what I can create. I'm going to click
on that. Now I've got different scenes
that I can create. This just gives you an idea of what beautiful vectographic
you can create. You can also change the scene here on the right hand side, on the type, and I've got scene, subject icon, and pattern,
same thing, essentially. Now, let's say I want to
use one of these scenarios, and I want to change this
with something else. Let's go to something like
vintage car on highway, desert sunset, retroposter
design. I love that. I click on that, and
it's going to generate essentially three different
versions of this scenario. Let's have a what
firefight does for us. And now we have three versions. This is the first
one. That's the second one and the third one. If you like one of
these and you want to adapt it to your Canvas, all you need to do is simply
just drag these dots. Stretch and to make it bigger. Of course, it will
distort the image. If you want to do
that, you can just go to edit undo scale, do scale again, or you can press command Z or control Z
if you're in a window, and you can hold
down the shift key. When you do that, you can resize that retaining the proportion. Do not worry. I'm
going to show you this even more later on. But let's say this is our image, and we want to
modify it or if you want to make it more
complex or less complex, we also have those controls
here on the right hand side. The settings, you have
detail in vectographics. What that means is,
if I want to make these vtographics a
little bit simpler, I can just drag this
lider for details, all the way down to minimal, or if I want to make
it more complex, I can go all the way
on the other side. Let's say I want to
make it minimal. So after you do that, nothing happened
because you have to press again on the
generate better. I can click here down
below the picture, or I can click on
generate better here. So let's give it a go and see
what happened. There we go. We have now a simpler
version of that, and we have other
three versions. That's the second version, and then the third version. So we have also options
to change the coloring, the effect to create
icons and patterns, which I'm going to show you
in the following videos. So B me and I'll see
you in the next video.
40. Create your first Vector Graphic: Let's create our first
example in Adobe Illustrator. We're going to basically create a new document, a
blank document. We're going to go
into a new file here, in Illustrator, and we're going to go into document presets. And we have some example. But we're going to go into the untitled here
and we're going to create a 600 by
600 pixel document. We're going to make it
simple, 600 by 600. And we're going to
leave everything as it is and press Create. Now, by the way, you also find a blank document already
in the exercise files. So if you browse
within this section, and you go into the folder, you'll find blank AI. That is the same as this. I just wanted to show you how
to create one from scratch. I want to create a
children's book for my two daughters about animals
in different environments. Now I'm going to start
here by creating a scene. The first thing
we're going to do, we're going to click on the retgle here on
the left hand side, and we're going to
highlight our Canvas. We're going to in this case,
select the whole Canvas, make sure you match
the actual square. Now we are ready
to create a scene. We're going to go here on
the right hand side and make sure that the type
we are under scene. After we do that,
we're going to zoom out a little bit command minus or control minus if
you are in window, we're going to go into
the selection tool again, or v if you are in window or Mc now we are ready to
generate something. We're going to
click con generate. I want to create a
leafy green jungle. With tropical trees
and a waterfall. I'm going to click on Generate. This will generate three
different versions of our vector graphics, like we have in photoshop
with generative field. And bear in mind, we also
have under settings. The detailed vector
graphics is under minimal because we left there
in the previous videos. Let's have what sort
of graphic we get, having a minimal details. So this is our first version. We have our second version
and our third version. Okay, let's say we
like the second one, but I want to
change the details. Let's go here on
to the settings, and we're going to
change the minimal. We're going to go in the middle, and we're going to click
on generate again. Let's see what sort of complexity we have now
on our vector graphics. Now, sometimes it comes up
simpler because was already in minimal and sometimes do illustrator and fireflight
needs to reset. So for some reason, sometimes you might have simpler graphics, so do not worry
if that happened. In this case didn't
happen, but that's fine. So as you can see, it's
a bit more complex. Now we have other three
different versions of our waterfall. And I can just revisit the
previous ones as well. Okay, I would probably say
I will probably choose the This first version
that we have before. I'm going to stick with
this. Now, I want to create also an object,
an animal in this case. I'm going to go
here on the scene. And I have to basically
select subject. But before we do that,
this is very important. You have to d select
this selection. Otherwise, if you do that
now and you select a prompt, it will replace our scene,
which we don't want. We're going to click away, click again to delect our scene, and now we are ready to
create a new object. We're going to go now
into the rectangle tool, and we're going to create now a small little square where I'm going to create a
little flamingo. We're going to go into
the selection tool again. I'm going to move this
here. Okay. And now I'm ready to generate something. I'm going to go to
generate better. I'm going to delete that prompt. I'm going to make
sure that the type, I change it to subject. And now I'm ready
to type my prompt. I'm going to delete
the old prompt. I'm going to just type flamingo, drinking in the river. Press, generate. Let's
see what we get. So it's very important to
deselect after your generation, create a new rectangle, a new area where we can actually prompt
something new in it, and of course, the type. It's also very important. And now we have our flamingo. We're going to make that
a little bit bigger. We have three versions of it. So I can visit the versions here on the right
hand side as well. That's the first one. That's the second one. And the third. If you want to zoom
in, of course, you can do command plus or control plus to
go a little bit further into the picture to see how it looks.
That's the first one. That's the second
one and the third. Okay, I want something that
actually drinks within that. Let's say I want to have
actually like this one here. I'm going to just
move it on the side. And I'm going to
leave it like this. Of course, if you don't like it, you can click on generate again to get other
three versions. I'm going to leave it
for now like this. Now, if I want to change
the color of my flamingo, I can do that by simply
clicking on the flamingo. And I can go to recolor. When I do that, I can have
now this palette that I can simply just move by
holding one of these dots. This will change the tone and the color palette
of my flamingo. If I want to keep it let's say on the red or
on the pink side, let's say I want to
keep it like this. I can also use the
presets as well. I've got generative
recolor here on top. Let me just move this here because you've got this
little tutorial as well. It's going to show you
what you can do with it. I'm going to dismiss
it from now. And I'm going to go to
generative recolor. This will give me
some sample prompts. Let's say I want to
use one of these. It's a summer by the sea. I'm going to click on agree, and let's see what recoloring
does for my flamingo. So this is a very cool feature. Once you create your object or your scene or your pattern, you can change the recolor the color by
clicking on recolor. These are the other four
versions of my flamingo. I'm going to click on this
one here, quite colorful, quite pinky and give me the nice purply and bright
colors, quite like it. I'm going to leave it like this. Otherwise, I can go back to recolor and can actually
change any of these palettes. Manually. But I'm going to show the recoloring in
the next video. At the moment, this
is what I want. Now, I also want to create
a pattern for my book. I'm going to click away, deselect that. I'm
going to zoom out. And I'm going to create a
rectangle next to this. By the way, if you want to move your objects around
within Illustrator, what you can do is just
press the space bar, hold it down and just
drag your objects around. Now I can create a pattern. This could be a pattern that
you can use for your book, like for the first few pages, the first page on the second
page or the end of the book as well as an introduction
to the book itself, just to give a little bit of
character to your creation. Now we're going to
go into type here, and we're going to
go into pattern. On the pattern, we have some of the example down below here. I've got a graphic sea waves, I've got tropical forest leaves, and I've got also
orographic shapes. Now, I can choose any of this just to have a look of
what sort of, you know, pattern we get, and
if it's something that can align with
our jungle here. Now we have three
beautiful pattern. I'm going to go to the select or press V to just select that, and let's see how it looks. If we zoom in, looks
pretty beautiful. We're going to go down
here, we're going to go into the second version, which is this one
and the third one. The third one looks very
similar to our pattern. But let's say we
want to change that. We want to basically
rate our own pattern. Having this selected, I can
go down here and I can say jungle with tropical
plants and birds, let's say, I'm going
to press generate. Now it's going to create three versions of our new prompt, which is going to
be probably more aligned with our jungle here. And now we have this
beautiful token here. We have also another
version here with the parrots and another
version here as well. Very, very beautiful,
very details as well. I love it. This would be
probably one of my patterns, quite like this one as well. But let's stick with this one. This is the thing you can do just in a matter
of a few minutes, and this would have
taken you and me probably several hours
to create before. But now we text the vector
graphics functionality, we can definitely speed up our work and make amazing
graphics and content.
41. Creative ways controlling colours: So let's take a look now of the level of control
that we have with colors within the text two
vectographic in illustrator. I opened this file
called Artboards AI, which you find in the exercise
files under this section. And we have three
scenes three scenarios. We have the jungle,
we have the Arctic, and we have a desertic
scenario as well. Now, when we select objects and when we create some graphics within
these three scenarios, we need to make sure we select
the right environments. These are three
different environments or better called artboards. And in order to find out if we are in the right environment, we need to go into
windows on top here. And we're going to
go to artboards. This will tell us
which artboard, which scenery or which
environment we are in. At the moment, we are
under artboard one, which is our jungle. If I click on the
artic here, scenery, we are under
artboard number two, and if I click on the desert, we are under artboard three. This is very important
to know where we are because this will
determine the colors that are going to
be used to generate whatever object or graphic
we want to create. We're going to start
with the jungle, artboard one, and now I'm going to create an
object within this. I'm going to go to my
selection tool here and you can just use
the as a rectangle. I'm going to just
highlight an area. Let's say I want to
high the area there, and now I'm ready to
create an object. Now, I can use directly
the prompt area here. But if you want to use the
prompt bar down below here, you would have to go back
to the selection tool, or v, and then you're going
to have this bar down below, so you can actually start
to create something here. Now, before we even
start to create our. In this case, I want
to create a cactus. We need to make sure that under type, we are under subject. So in this case, we
are under subject. And the style,
here it says none, even though we have
this reference asset, which is turned on. So this reference
asset essentially will take the style from whichever
artboard is selected. At the moment, we are
under artboard one, but it says still none. So what we need to
do we need to simply click on artwork
here to select it, and as you can see,
is now highlighted. And now on top the style, it says, reference asset, means that this style of cactus will take the same
style as our jungle. Now I'm going to go down
to generate better, and I'm going to
type wild cactus. I already done it before, so it's there ready. I'm going to type a wild cactus. Now I'm going to
click on generate. This will generate three
different cactus design. That we have a style similar
or same style as my jungle. Now we have the line work here, and now we're going to wait until it's going to color them. Now we have three cactus styles. Let's say we're going to use I'm going to use the
second one here. I'm going to drag it down
just so you see it better, and I can actually zoom in to see how this
cactus look like. As you can see, it is using the same design as our jungle. I can actually drag it here, and this blends perfectly with my environment here,
which is perfect. Now let's try something else. Going to go back
here. Now, let's say we want to use this cactus
in our glacial background. Now, if I want to, all I need to do is simply
just drag this object here. And now, as you can see
the reference assets is taking the glacial icon. Now, if I want to generate a cactus as the
same style as this, I would have to go
to generate better. I'm going to leave the same
prompt and click on generate. So this will generate
three cactus style. Similar to my arctic
circle scenery. As you can see, I've got
three beautiful cactus, and in this time, they have the same style
as my glacial background. Now, I can do the same
thing for my desert, but just going here and
moving the object to the desert scenery is going to change that
to this artwork. So now I can just go here and generate a new set of cactus, which they're going to
take the same asset in the same style as my desert. Now I've got three
beautiful wild cactus, which have the same
reference as my background. Let's say we like this
design of cactus, but we want to basically use the colors from the first scene. In that case, all I need to
do is simply go to Picker Here on the right hand side, and I can select the scene I want for that to
take the color from. I'm going to go to the
jungle in this case. When I click on
jungle, it says here, your selected style is being
added to the style picker. As you can see here, I've got my jungle here under the picker. Now I can go to generate. I can click on generate better. Now this is going to generate a cactus or three
styles or cactus, which they're going to
have the same colors as the first jungle. As you can see, now I've
got a beautiful cactus, which has the colors
from my jungle, using the style of my desert. I can mix and match all
of this accordingly. Now, I can also do
something else. Let's say I want to go
and recolor this cactus. I can go to recolor here
having that selected. These are the level
of controls I've got over this object. I can change the color by
going to color library, and I color library,
I've got a plethora of different kind of color
styles and color palettes. I can choose any of
this For instance, I can go to I don't
know, I can go to foods, for instance, beverages,
and this will take the colors from
food and beverages. Now, I can also choose something else or I
can go back to none. And I can also use colors auto. Under auto, you can decide how many colors you want
that cactus to have. In this case here, you
can go to auto and we'll automatically decide how many colors you want that to have. Or if you want to have up to
three colors or two colors, it will automatically
pick up three colors. And then it will
automatically color for you. This is the level of control
you have four or five, or you can go back to automatic, and you can do that as well. Another cool feature you
have is color theme picker. This is different from
this picker here. This will override whichever you know scene you
have on the pica. So, for instance,
if I want to have this cactus to have the
color of the glacial, keeping the same design, I can go to Clothm pica. I can pick up the
second scene here, which is the glacial scene, and it will take the
colors from that scene. Other things you can do here, you can actually move
the color palette to change the colors manually
if you wanted to. Now, if you're not
happy with that, you can just go back to undo, which is the little
arrow here on top, and it goes back to the previous
view, which is this one. The other sort of control you
have is prominent colors. Here you can actually go and then select the prominent
color that you like. Let's say you want to
have this dark blue, and you can drag it to
the left to have more of that into your
cactus or less of that. As you can see, it will
change in real time. Other things you can do, you
can change the brightness of your cactus objects and the hue, or you can also change
the saturation. You want to have a rich colors, you want to have more washed
down colors is up to you. This is the level of control
you have within the object. And also, you have a
generative recolor on top. This will let you basically experiment different filters
that we already have. For instance, if you
want to go for something like summer by the sea,
you can click there, and that will generate
colors for that design, to look like
something like this. So if you want to have that, you can just pick up
the color you like. Let's say you want
to have that one. Or perhaps you want to
create a different one. Let's say you want to
go to a trip discolts. Let's see how is going
to change the colors, something more like psychedelic, and there we go, and then you can just choose
the one you like. Or if you just change your mind, you can just go back undo or just go back to color on top, click on Color theme
again and select your glacial that will go
back to the previous colors. Or if you want to
experiment with the desert, you can go to the desertic
view or the jungle, and that will change in real
time, which is pretty cool. That is a sort of
level of control we have within text
to vectographic. And it's amazing. Now I can actually select a way to just select everything. And I can decide to have that
perhaps in my arctic scene. When I do that,
remember when you drag the object within
an environment. Now we have the picker, which is still in our jungle. If I want to change there, or It simply go here,
deselect it first. Select it again,
select your scene, let's say the artic
in this case. I would say, your selected style has been added to
the style pica. And we go now we have the
Pica with the glacial. Now if I want to
generate another one, I can just go to
generate and click on generate Beta to have a
different version of it. So you have infinite ways
to change styles and colors on your artboards and your vector graphics
within Adobe Illustrator. This is amazing and it gives you endless possibilities to
be as creative as you can. As you can see, I've got
now a beautiful cactus, which as a glacial vibe. Another level of control
that we have through colors is by going to
generative recolor. And we saw this before
the sample prompts, but we also have an
option to create our own prompts based
on the description, which gives you
endless possibilities. Here it says, describe the
color palette, the mood. Let's say I want to say
a cold frozen snowy feel and press generate. This will generate four set of colors based on my prompts. Now I've got a more
cold frozen and snowy feel to my cactus. I can actually
have it like this. I can click on Artboard two, to have a nice zoom in, and this is my design for a cactus living in an
arctic circle scenario. F with this and I'll see
you in the next video.
42. Assignment: Okay, now is the time
to test our knowledge. We text to vetographic
within Adobe Illustrator. Now, you can open this
document call out of place.ai. You find this document in the exercise files
within this section. And what I would like you
to do is to create a scene, a landscape or anything
that you like, whether it is a landscape
or whether it is an interior design of a room or anything
that you can think of. And try to add 1-3 objects
which are out of place. What that means
is you can create perhaps a desertic
landscape with a snowman somewhere or something unusual
within that landscape. It's a very simple exercise. Just create a scene and create a couple of subjects
within the scene. Then I would like you to change the colors as
well if you don't like the color that is come
out with the prompts. You can use the recolor and the generative
color as well to create your own colors and to make something
unique and creative. I'm looking forward
to see your work and I'll see you
in the next video.
43. Assignment Solution: This is just one
interpretation of the assignment I just
gave you before. What I've done
here, essentially, I created a lost city in
the middle of the Amazon, and the odd subject that
I added the flamingo, the lion, a tiger, and also a sport car in
the middle of this jungle. That's what I've
done, and I used the same color assets
as the artwork itself. I haven't actually
changed them much. But this is the
assignment, very simple. Help you enjoy it, and I'll
see you in the next video.
44. Overview of Text Effects: Another exciting features
that we have with a Firefly is text effect. So we are on the firefly
do adobe.com website, and we scroll down here and
we have these features, and one of them is text effect, which runs within Adobe Express. We're going to click on
try in Adobe Express is going to open our website
here with a press, and by the way, this is
new do express dob.com. And here you can
create all sorts of things from presentations
to social media posts, graphics, logo, flyers, resume, web page, et cetera et cetera
You can do so much here. Now, as you can see,
down below here, we have also options
to create text to image directly
in Adobe Express. We can use generative feel
as well for our graphics. The two features we're going to talk about in this class would be text effect and
text to template. Now, as you can see,
on the text effect, I've got this example here, which is this nice
stitchy effect, which is dark blue
embroidery stitches. So this is just a
prompt that someone created to make this
nice font style. Now, I can actually
describe my own image here. So the feature here is
to describe what kind of effect would you like
to have on the text. So, for instance,
if I want to have a snaky skin or a
crocodile skin on my text, I can just describe that. But before we even
type anything here, I want to show you another place where you can actually
access text effect. If I scroll down here in the
main page, you'll notice, apart from all the templates
and all the models and all the different examples
that you can actually use, you also have text to
image down here with all the different options and all the different
samples of other peoples. You also have a generative feel. We also have down
below text effect. We have the same boxia where
we can describe our text, how we want that to be. We also have some example
here with some prompt. Very simple prompt.
For instance, this prompt here is
just says caramel, or another one is blueberry, or another one is blue three D rendered plastic
smooth balloons. Let's explore one of
these, for instance, I've got a colorful, dried flowers and berries. I'm going to click on this one. So this is essentially
the word flower, and they basically
applied this prompt. It says colorful dried
flowers and berries. That's what we got here. Now,
we have a bunch of options. We're going to cover
also in the next class. But just to give you a brief introduction
of what you can do. Here you can change
the sample effect with the one that we
already got here. Of course, we can
actually go and view more by clicking
on that and you've got a plethora of
different kind of effect from reflective
natural abstract, animals, texture, et, etcetera You got plenty here to kind of take
inspiration from. Let's go back. On top. We also have the style. We can have realistic
embellished, so we can cover all
of this later on. If I click on realistic,
for instance, and I want to press generate, I can click on generate, and that will give me essentially four versions
of my that style. As you can see, now I've
got a different style. And by the way, this will take one credit out of
four variations. So that is stamos recording. If I want to create
more results, I can go to load more and that will load other four versions of the same style with
different take. And then we go,
I've got other four over here then I
can choose from. Other thing you can do, you
can customize your text. You can change the font with
a different font style. You can change that
to be thicker, tight, medium, and loose. Perhaps you want to have
your flowers to be a little bit loose
around the edges. So I can click on loose, I can click on generate, and that will give me
hopefully that effect. Let's overlook what it does. Now as you can see, you've got a more loose
kind effect on my word. I can click on a different style and different variations. Okay. And in the next video, we're going to explore more in depth about how to change funds, how to actually create
our first prompt, and how to create new graphics from
all these options that we have available
in AW press. Okay.
45. Create your first Text effect: After familiarizing with the
layout within Adobe Express, now is the time to
create our own prompt and create our own
effects for our font. Now we're going to change
this to something else. I want to create a tree house. And that's what I'm
going to do. I'm going to just like tree house, I'm going to resize this. I'm also going to change the font style.
This is quite big. We're going to go
into the size here. I'm going to make this let's say 300 to fit the whole word. We're also going to change
the font style from here. So when you use W express and you go into
the font, family. You have basically access to
the Ad adobe fonts family, and you got plenty
here to choose from. You literally have
hundreds of this, and I can choose something
a little bit thick. Let's have a look at
this one, tree house. Okay, we can try this,
and now we're going to go into text effect
down below here. And we're going to
type our own prompt, and I want to type a wooden
Palettes. Wooden palettes. So I just created a tree
house for my children, and now I want to basically make a little brochure or a
little posture about that. So now I'm going to go into wooden palettes and I'm going to click on generate We're going to wait a
few moments until the Express is going
to generate my font. As you can see, I've got
this nice palette design, and it's now rendering
all the words, and also I can go down here and I can choose a
different style. So if I prefer another
style of palettes, I can just go here
and choose that. I now is rendering
all the words. Of course, the longer the word, the longer it's going to
be the rendering time. And you can choose between
these four, and of course, I can load even more if I
wanted to to have more variety. Now I am under realistic
under the style. So it's also like
all the shadows, it's kind of been very,
very precise here. I'm going to go and make this layout to make this
layout a little bit bigger. And now I'm going to
change the text here. Let's say I want to
have a tight style. I'm going to click on generate. This is going to
generate some sort of effect around the letters. I can go to medium, and let's have a look
what change you get. I believe for this specific
style with palettes, we're not going to notice
a lot of differences, but just for the sake
of the experiment. I just want to see what it does. Yeah, I changed slightly. Now, I can also do
something else. I can go into text effect on top here and I can click on
the arrow here next to it, and I can change
the font as well. While this is actually applied, I can go here and I can
choose a different one. Now, I chosen AlfonRgula but
I can go to something else. So as you can see, I've got a little preview of what
that font style is. This was quite thick. I can choose something a
little bit more even thicker, so I can go to
something like that, Barber Let's try this one here. So this is a completely
different kind of font. I can go and can make
this smaller. Let's see. Let's make sure they
fit within one line. We're going to wait until
firefly, in this case, is going to render
our Our material, in this case, our palettes. I think I'm going to stick
with what we had before. We have literally hundreds here to choose from. Just
for the sake of the time. Just for the sake
of time, I'm going to just choose what
we have before, and that was Alpha regular, and I'm going to stick with this, and that's what
I'm going to do. I'm going to just
go back to 300, which is the size
that I had before. Actually, I'm going to
go a little bit smaller. I'm going to go to 280. To give a litle space, and then we're going
to go into shadows. Down below here, you
got all these effects. You got tax effects, which
we already explored. We can also go into shadows
into shapes, into animations. If I go to shadows here, I can have a night
shadow just around the edges or just
behind my a word here. I can also choose the
color of the shadow. Perhaps I want to have
a dark brown just to, you know, follow the theme. I can also just choose one
of the others watches. I can go to more colors, and here I can choose any of
these colors if I wanted to, or I can go to custom and just pick up a color from here and just experiment in real time how that would look
like on my word. Let's say I'm going to go to
something more yellowish, perhaps or something darker. Let's keep a classic. And then we're going
to just close that. And we can choose also one
of these, for instance, we can that one is custom, we can go to strong
to have a strong. Shadow. I can go lift, classic. Let's see a classic. The color, I'm going
to stick with that. I'm going to go back to
shadow, and this is applied. As you can see,
when it is applied, it becomes highlighted. Shape. I can actually
have a shape behind my text at the moment, we have a yellow shape and
it's just a rectangle. I can have something like a rounded shape, if I wanted to, I can have something like more decorative, something like that, which is actually,
if I go into 50%, you can actually
see what it does. If I make this text a
little bit smaller. In fact, if I go back to text, and I make this to 150. Now I can move this
text to center. As you can see, this is
a sort of things you can add into your text. You can have, for instance, another sort of, you know, style, you literally here, you know, 20 or more
of this little styles. You can choose
whatever you like, or you can just go back here to normal shapes and
have that instead of having one of the
decorative fantasy. You got plenty to choose from. I'm going to just stick with the normal shadow.
I'm going to go back. And also, we have animations. We're not going to cover
animation on this, but just briefly,
I'm going to show you what it does. Essentially. This will have an animation in entrance and exit if
you create some sort of, you know, presentation
or like a little clip. If you want to create a clip,
you can actually make this. For instance, if I go to, I can choose one of
these animations, I can have something
like drift in. This is very similar to a
keynote or PowerPoint effects, and you can have
something that, you know, bungee effect, a grow effect, a shrink effect, tumble
effect, et cetera. You can choose any of this
and you can create onimation, but we can leave this for another training,
another course. Now, we have here the option
also to flip the words. Arizontally vertically,
this is just to change the opacity
of our wording. This is the outline thickness. If you want to have some sort
of outline on your words, you can actually use that and you can choose the
outline here color. By clicking on that, you
have the watches and you can choose a different
color for your outline, can be something thicker and can be something a little bit completely contrasty
with your palettes. You can make it
completely unique, and then you can
make it brighter. It can be something like that. Tree house, nice bright
red and the thickness. This is going to change the
thickness of your letters, and this is things
you can do here. Done underestimate
Adobe express, you can do a lot of
things that you could do also in Adobe photoshop, but in a easier way by just
accessing all these tools. Now I can just close this. I'm happy with that
with text effect. Other things you can
do, you can change the background color
of your document. If I go here and I choose
one of these watches, let's say I'm going to go to something like green
greenish, like that. I can have that effect. Or if I want to have
that transparent, I can go here and go
back to transparent. If you want to export this and perhaps use any other
effect, you can do that. Or you can have one of
these watches here. It's really up to you
what you want to have. Let's say we're going to go
for something dark like this, and we're going to just leave it like this. We
can go to theme. And on the theme, you
have all different kinds of watches you can choose from. Now, at the moment, we applied the palette effect. So we're going to
leave it as it is. We're going to go back
by clicking on the X. We're going to click on the word to bring back our side bar. And now we can go
back to our outline. Let's say change my mind. I don't want to have any outline quite like the fact that
we have our palettes, and I don't want to
compromise that effect. So I'm going to
leave it as it is. Things you can do
is on text layout. You can have the text as a default or as a
circle or as an arch, and also the way you align the
text as well from the top, let's go back to default. You can also align your text to be aligned to the left
to the right to the top. So this is if you have more than one word going on
and you want to align it. But again, you have freedom to move this stuff around
to centralize it. And on the text
effect, of course, you can try one of
these sample effects. If you're not happy with that, or if you want to try any sort of different kind of
type of palettes, you can go to load
More and you have now the full variations
of your palettes. So this effect is also quite nice. I'm going to
stick with this. So this is the sort of things
and the sort of control you have over a text effect. So F with that and I'll
see you in the next video.
46. Experiment Text Effects: Now, let's explore
some other prompts and some other tax effect. We're going to go into tax
effect down below here, and we're going to go and
choose a different prompt. In this case, I'm going to try a bare fur keep it very simple. Let's see what it comes
up with, and by the way, I can change the type
to say B got there. We're also going to get You're going to make our text a
little bit bigger as well. So we're going to go
into text effect. And while it's
rendering, you can actually do these changes. You can go here. You
can put that to be 250, or you can just drag the
corners to make it bigger. You can make this a little bit smaller and we go to make
it a little bit bigger. And you're going to click
outside, click inside again, and then you can move
the text box around, and then we're going to go
into the text effect again. And we're going to try
some other effects. So we got the first result
as the second results. Perhaps we can change
the font style. This looks to, you know, too regular to be
adapted for a bear. But it might work,
I can go into font, and I can choose
one of these fonts here, the default fonts. Let's say we're going
to try something like popular or Acumin P, that's the one we
had before actually. But no, this is not what we
had before it is different. We're going to choose
this actually, and then we're going to click
away and see how it looks. Let's say I want to have
this all capital letters. I can just have that
capital letters. Then we can try to
load more versions. As you can see, I've got
now four more versions of this fur And I can also change the prompt to be perhaps a leopard fair and
click con generate. So why you actually
make this experiment. You can change the wording, the text effect while
this is actually going and rendering your word. Let's go to three 50. And we can also make that
a little bit smaller. So here, literally
the sky is the limit. You can make all sort of effect. You can go back to
tax effect here. You can have also things
like customize your text. Let's choose lose and
click on generate. Let's see if it does anything on the edges of each letter. So we can make this writing a bit this text
a little bit bigger. Just to see what sort
of effect we can get. We also have the shadow that
we actually had it before. And let's see where we get here. Still rendering. Let's
try the second one. As you can see the shape, the contour of each
letter is now changing. It's a little bit
more lose in a sense, because we chose actually lose. We also have let's say
this version here. Let's have a look at this one. Okay. Now we're going
to try this one here. And we're going to also
try a different prompt. The easier is the prompt. The cooler is going to
be your experimentation. Let's say you're going to try Truberres going to click on
before clicking on generate, I'm going to let's say
you're going to type. And then we're going to press. You're going to try generate. And let's see what effect
we get out of strawberries. There we go, you got
our strawberries here. Of course, we can change the style as well from
realistic to embellished. I'm going to generate that. Let's see what it gives us. Again, you have so many
choices here to choose from. That's another way you can
represent your strawberries. That could be easily used
for one of your brochures. I can go to media here and I can just go actually
on the templates, but we're going to cover this
in the following videos. But you can see here you
can actually choose one of these brochures and actually add that into your
brochures, pretty exciting. Let's go back here and let's go into embellished the style. We're going to try
neon, neon neon effect. Using strawberries. Let's see what it does. And also, I want to change the
text style from Acumin pro to something Let's try something more smoother, in a sense. Let's try this one
here. Sweet. This is called eight heavy.
That's the font. We're going to wait
a couple of seconds. That is the first attempt. We're going to go to text
effect down below here, and we're going to
choose another style. I quite like this effect, but I don't know if
the strawberries are the right fruits for this. We can try something
like ice cream. And we're going to
just press generate. And we can have different
kind of effects here. Or we can actually say
here, Strawberry ice cream. Generate. We can have
four different versions. We can also, I like this
one. Yeah, that's nice. So we can actually
use this as a way to represent our flyer. Perhaps you can have a
different background. You can have something
like in magenta. Let's see, something
like that. Wow. Oh. It's actually pretty sweet, not unintended, there we go. You got now a nice view of your strawberry ice
cream in this style. Again, go with this, you also have lots
of sample effect as well to come and check, you can choose any of this. You can just experiment
any that you like, and you can also go into
media and you can have one of these for instance for
you for your brochure. I can choose for instance, something like let's say, I want to type suite. Suite, and then we're going to delete this image from here. And then we're going to have
perhaps this background. So I can double click on that. I can add that in. I can
have added more than twice. Okay, we're going to do that, and let's say we're going to
have this sort of effect. And now we're going to click
and we're going to click on San now we have our text box here, we're
going to resize it. That sort of things you can do. You can create and
then the next video, I'm going to spend some time talking about media, templates, and elements that you can
add in your design using text effect and
really unleashing your creativity as
much as you can. Okay.
47. Level of versatility in Adobe Express: One of the many things we can
do with our text now is for instant change in the
background with something more exciting than
just a solid color. So we can go to media here
on the left hand side. In fact, we can go
to templates to media and to all the other
things that we have available. So for instance, if we want to create a brochure or a poster, we can actually go to templates. And in templates, we have a myriad of different
kind of ideas and layout that we
can choose from where we can actually try
this word into it. So for instance, if you
want to try one of these, let's say I want to
try that one here, I can click on it, and this is a gray layout Instagram
square post, for instance. I can go to add as a page
or start a new file. I'm going to add as a
page because I want to still use this text
effect that I've got. As you can see, it just created another page next
to my style here. Now, if I want to, for instance, try that wording into here, I can simply go
into my word here. I can click on it, I can
press command C or control C, or just copy, and then I can go to the
next document here, and I can just get rid of that, get rid of that text as well, and I can actually paste Command
V or control on windows, or you can just
resize your text by just dragging the
corners of the text box. You can try here on the side. You can even resize
this to have a more, you know, a different
completely different style of your design, or you can have this completely
without any sort of, you know, text box just to have that You can have
that a little bit bigger. So you have a plethora of choice here to make your graphics
as appealing as possible. Other things you can do, you can also go to something like media. In media, this will access to all the Adobe stock photos
that you can choose from, or you can see beauty and
fashion, you have abstract. For instance, if you want
to try one of these, or you can actually
search here under photo, under the Adobe stock. You can actually
search for trees, for instance, and press. Turn. And now we have, like, lots of different
pictures for trees, and I can just drag and drop them in to
see how they look. And I can have something
like this, for instance. Now I can have this nice layout, and I can even go
and over and pose. I can go and put it in
the center of this, I can right click and I
can send it backwards. So now we have a word on top. If I don't like it, I can
just press the delete. I can press delete
on that one as well. And I can even change
the layout completely. If I don't like this
Instagram post, all I need to do is simply just go into the bin here on the top, right and corner,
delete and go back to my previous design. And here, I can actually
drag another one. So let's say I want
to drag that one in, and I can just simply do that. And I can just, you know, resize it. Over impose it. It doesn't have to be exactly
the same aspect ratio. And then I can send this back by right clicking and send back. And now I've got my word
on top, tree house. If you can't read it because
you need a text box. You can have a text box,
you can go to elements, and I can choose one of these even fancier than a text box. You can actually have one
of these nice effect. Let's say you want to
have the effect here, let's say this one here. That is our brush effect. I can make this bigger, and I can resize it let's make it a little bit smaller
actually, let it go. And then we're going
to make sure that it fits in the entire screen. We're going to go here, and that we go now, we
have our effect. You can have that and
you can also have the word here on top and you can just right click and go
to Sand bring forward, and you can have that sort. So you have lots of
control here to change your design to make your
design more appealing. Let's say you want to
have it like that. And then we go this is the
sort of things you can do, or you can actually create something completely
from scratch. So you can experiment
with another design. Let's say you want to
keep this as it is, and you want to
create a new one. Completely from
scratch, you can go to add here on the
top right corner. That will add another design. It could be the same size
as this. Custom size. You can also duplicate that. You want to create
a new version. Let's say we want
to duplicate this. We're going to have
exactly the same. In this case, we're going
to leave it as it is. We're going to
remove that shape, and we're going to try
a different shape. And as you can see, I've got so many choice here
to choose from. You can even get rid
of the background. You can start from
where you were before. You can go to,
let's say elements. You can go to something like this to create a nice graphic. Let's say you want to have
it here on the side and you want to have that one go on top, bring forward, so you can have a nice you know, a nice logo. Perhaps, you want to have that. Or you can go again to elements
and experiment with more. You can even see all of them. You can go to view
all and it's going to show you all the
different elements. You have three D elements,
you got abstract shapes. Literally, we can go on
here for hours and hours. So you literally have
hundreds of this. So the possibilities
and the versatility you have within a W
express is endless. The sky is the limit here. You can go to templates, and of course, you can choose
one of these templates, whether you want to
make a brochure, whether you want
to make a flyer, whether you want
to create a logo. You can actually go
here and really F fun with whatever design
you want to try. Let's stick with this one here. And this is what
gives you a sort of a presentation slide idea. I can click on start a new file. It is going to start a
new file because this is, of course, is a presentation. But again, you can copy
and paste your text between your documents.
I'm going to copy that. I'm going to go back here, and let's say I want
to paste that one there. I'm going
to remove there. I'm going to paste my
tree house effect, is going to now to render it, and we're going to make
it a little bit smaller, and we're going to make it. Let's say that size, and this is going to remove. We're going to
remove that as well. As you can see, I
can go on and on. This is just as infinite ways. You have infinite ways
to create anything here. You can literally use a press
for pretty much anything, whether you want to
create a document, a presentation, a flyer, a logo, anything that has
to be designed, Abi express will cover. Probably 90% of the things
you want to do in my case, 90% of the things, I can do it definitely
in Adob express. Now, this is what you can do is the level of versatility and creativity that you
can unleash within a W express and
with text effect. I hope you enjoy it, and I'll
see you in the next video.
48. Text to Template: And another great tool that we have on our disposal within Adobe firefly is
generate template. And this will allow
you essentially to create any sort of graphics, whether you want to
create a poster, a brochure, a newsletter, a presentation or
anything that you can think of just out of a prompt. So if you scroll down here on the main adobe firefly website, which is firefly adobe.com, you should be able to
see generate a template. This is run mainly
in Adobe Express. We're going to click on
try in Adobe Express. This is going to
open another tab with Adobe express main page. And if you scroll down here, you should be able to see the four features that
we go available, then you also have text to templates the one we're
going to explore now, and were able to text effect. And by the way, you can
explore all the way down here, the different
examples that we have available to get your
creative flow going. So we're going to
go back here on the text to template and
I'm going to type a prompt. I'm going to type a poster, of a yoga retreat in
Sin Tino Sardinia between ten to 17th of August 2024. I specify exactly what I wanted
a poster of yoga retreat, Istanino which is a
place in Sardinia, and this is a yoga retreat, which is going to be
between the tenth and 17 August 2024. So let's over look what it does. You can generate. I'm
going to agree with that. It says, text to template. You can create
editable templates with generative AI technology. I'm going to agree with
the terms and conditions. And now firefly is going to create four different
styles for my poster. And there we go, we
get four styles. So the first one here it says Yoga BlizRtreat ten
17 of August 2024, mark your calendars, wind
your soul with yoga, and then it says standing
Sardinian paradise. So, I haven't wrote any of
this, but as you can see, it just came out with a nice
image with a nice layout. The second one here says, Yoga BlizRtreat, find serenity. Then you got Yoga
Blest Sardinia, a serene Oasis, and then you got Yoga Bliz escape
and recharge. So you got kind of
a sporty style. You got a more relaxed
and chilled out style. And so you got four
different ones. If I want to generate four more, I can just click on
generate more results, and that will, of course, create other four
variations of my postures. Let's have a look what
we get. And there we go. We have other four
different styles, quite like this style
here, and also this style. Let's say we want
to go for this one, and I want to see some
variations within this style. I can click on C
variation here just above the poster, and
let's see what we get. So it's all about experimenting different styles and
getting more variations. And from there, you can
actually amend the creation the final creation that Firefly is going to
interpret for you. And let's see what we get. Okay, definitely better design. So I think I'm going to go for something like this,
Escape to serenity. And that is also yoga retreat
instantaneous quite nice, but I like the background here. This is kind of too crowded. I can't even read
what's in there, but also this one here. Yeah, there's so
much going on here. I think I would go
for this clean style. I'm going to just click on it. This is going to open
another tab in my browser. And now the template is going to load with all the
different layers and all the different
options that I can actually take advantage
of to make this brochure, actually this poster,
much, much more appealing. Now, as you can see, when
I click anywhere here, I can click on the background, and then I've got also here
the layer for the background. I've got the layer for
my text boxes here, for my other subtitle, and for the title here as well. And I can change that by
double clicking it and I can just change the phrase,
I can change the title. I can do whatever
I want with that. I can also go into
the recommended here, quite like this feature
that will basically give me this different kind of style
for this specific text box. So I can click on any
different text box that I've got in my posters, and I can actually get the
recommended design here. So for instance, if I want
to go for something a little bit thicker or
something slightly different, I can do that, and
that will apply automatically in
my brochure here. I can go here, I can resize it, I can make it a
little bit shorter. I can go to the the title here, I can double click
there, and I can see all the different kind of font. I can go to Vw A,
and I can change all this sort of style
mode of my poster. I'm going to keep
this one for now. I'm going to go
back to recommend it here on the left hand side, and things like, for
instance, text effect. If I want to go into
text effect here and I want to apply a font, I can actually use a font here. I can actually use a prompt
to change this brochure. So the sky is the limit here. And as you can see,
this is what you can do just from a prompt. You can create posters. Again, you can create
presentations, you can create any sort of media you can find
in Adobe Express. So this is pretty cool feature
within Adobe five fly, and I hope you enjoy and create amazing art and amazing material and content here
in Adobe five fly.
49. Assignment: The assignment for this
module would be using one of the Adobi stock photos that
you find under Adobe Express. And then after you lay
that into the Canvas, I would like you to
use text effect, type a nice title and
a subtitle down below, like a little catchy
phrase as well. I would like you to
do this, whether you want to use a althy theme or you want to use any other theme or any other niche
that you like. Feel free to do that. You have a complete freedom of
what you want to use. But I would like to
see a nice image, a nice title with a
nice text effect, and a nice little
slogan down below. So that is the assignment. Good luck, and I'll see
you in the next video.
50. Assignment Solution: Welcome back. I hope you've
done your assignment. So this is one of the possible solution
of this assignment. Now, I've chosen this
image as you saw before. So the solution of my
assignment is this. So essentially, I created a text effect using
tropical plants, and also I used this as
my slogan time to relax. So I've created this
on the text effect, and this is my prompt
fy tropical plants. And then here I've chosen
one of these results, and that is a sort effect
that I've got. I hope so. Added a little bit of shadow. I can went to
shadow and I choose the preset one,
which says smooth. And that's pretty
much what I did. Then for the text box here, I just type time to relax. And once you type that, you have recommended styles
here on the left hand side. If you want to see all
the recommended style, you just press view all and
you see all sort of fonts and ways different ways
you can actually see that slogan in a visual way, which is pretty pretty cool. So that is the assignment. It fun, and I'm looking forward to see yours and I'll see
you in the next video.
