2. The Overhand Shuffle: Alright, so let's look
at the Overhand Shuffle. And again, this is very, very basic and you probably know how to shuffle a deck
like this already. But I just want to kinda go over some of the finer points, just so when we start doing a few more advanced
flights later on, you're not going to
run into any problems. So the Overhand Shuffle
looks like this. The key to making
it nice and neat is pretty much the
way the left-hand and right-hand work together. So the left hand is
falling like a cage. So it's these three fingers here that are gonna be on the
right-hand side of the deck. You someones gonna be
on the front and then your left thumb is gonna be
on this side of the deck. So if you have a look at, It's basically forming
like mechanic's grip. In fact, you can almost imagine this is like
mechanic's grip, which is on its side. And all that does
is it gives you a nice target for the cards. And that way when you're
shuffling the cards that are going to
end up nice and neat and it's just going
to make everything look a lot neater and a lot
more professional. So and that's the left-hand or the right hand is essentially gripping the cards like this. So you're, you've got
a good solid grip. I normally only use the two middle fingers and
thumb at the top. And then you're left them.
It's just gonna come over and pull a small group of
cards into the left hand. And you just gonna do that
over and over and over again. So very, very basic, but it's important that we know exactly how to do this properly, because it's going to make
learning advanced slides later in the course
a whole lot easier.
3. A Surpising Revelation - Performance : So if anyone asks me to teach them a trick that
they can literally do in like 2 s and
requires no skill. I'm going to teach
him this because if you can cut a deck of cards, you can do the trick
and you get to amazing discoveries all packed
into one super easy trick. So this is what it looks like. The Spectator picks a card, so they'll reach in
and take any card. I'll let you guys
have a look at it. So remember the card. And then I'm going to cut little packets onto
the table like this. And the spectator would
then put their card back into the deck so they put it anywhere
they want like though. So you bury the card in
there and it's lost. Now you have them, take their hand and place it
over the deck of cards. And you say now have your
hands over that deck of cards. There's no way that I can
manipulate the cards. There's no way that I can get in there and do
anything sneaky, right? They'll admit that is the case. Say, okay, watch
this, I'm the cast. My hand of the cards like this. Something really incredible
happens because now one Card, since face up and only one. And if you lift your hands and you have them lift their hand, one Card is now facing. They're gonna give
you this blank look because that is not their card, but you say Wait a minute, let me explain that
is not your card, but it's going to tell
me where you're Card is. Because this card
is a five, right? If we count 12345, the fifth card
would be your card before. Isn't that cool? And just as a little bonus, not only did I find your card, but I also found the 1234 aces. Isn't that amazing Trick? Good. You see you guys,
super easy to do. And now I'm going to
teach you how it's done
4. A Suprising Revelation - Explanation: So when I first started
learning magic, this is a trick that I did all the time because it's
so easy that you can just concentrate on giving it some dynamite presentation.
And it's really strong. People absolutely
love this trick. So let me show you
how to set it up. There's a little bit
of setup involved. You need the four aces
and a five spot. Alright? So here's the setup. It's very, very simple. All you're gonna do is
you're going to place your four aces on the table. You're going to place
your face at five on top. And then you're going
to place all of the other cards on top of that, alright, and actually
secret setup. So you do this before we
do this trick on anyone. So just to recap, now, you've got all of the cards. You got to face up five and
below your face at five, you have your four aces, right? So you've got the card set up. You have someone pick
a card so they'll reach in and take a card. It just be careful here, don't spread too far, otherwise, they're
going to see that five. So the way that you
avoid that as if you spread nice and slow like this. Just say take any card, you just go nice and slow. They're going to
reach it and take on you'd never gonna get, trust me, you're
never going to get to the end of the spread
without taking account. So they take a card like this. They look at the card. So just so you guys can follow along, it's the jack of diamonds. Alright? So you haven't seen the card. You've got your secret
setup on the bottom here. They don't know about that. So you're going to
say right, I'm going to cut small packets, the top of the pack like this. And whenever you want, just say stop cutting
packets like this. They say stop. Wherever
they're happy, they say stop. They're going to place
their card on top. And what's now going to go
right on top of their card. But you're secret
setup right here, right by the way,
don't do this, right? So you're set up now it's gonna go right on top of their card, and the trick is done. But here's where you
make the magic happen. Because you're going
to take the cards, placed them in front of the
Spectator and have them put their hand on top
because at this point, they have no idea that
the tricks already over. But here's where you
create the magic and you say with your
hand on top of the deck, is there any way I
can get in there? Is there any way that I
can manipulate those cars? And they're gonna
be like there'll be adamant that they're
not letting you in there. And you say, okay, well, just imagine this as I cast
the shadow over the card, one Card and only one Card
turns itself face up. Sounds impossible, right? You have them lift
their hand up like this and if you
spread the cards, there's your face up, fine. Alright? And you say that they're gonna
give you this blank look, are going to burst out laughing
at me like, no, it's not. Be so hang on a minute. I didn't say it was your card. I just said one Card would
turn face up. Right. This is going to tell me
where you're Card is. So here you're going
to take all of the cards are both the five, okay, put them to one side.
They're not important. Now when you get to the five,
you're going to count down. Alright? So if you slide the five off, you count down 1234 aces, right? And the fifth card. And
what was your card? You show them the card. And that's their card,
the jacket diamonds and they'd be
completely amazement, that's going to
blow their minds. And he said, But wait, because not only did I find your card, but being the expert
card shark that I am, I also found the four aces and no one will ever wants to
play cards with you again.
5. Circus Card Trick - Performance: Alright, this is one of my
favorite tricks to do because it's a great trick for
wanting free drinks. And it's also got me an
upgrade at an airport. It's a business class,
which is really nice, so there's no guarantees, but you can try it and
see how far you get. This is one of those
Tricks for It's probably more FUN for you to perform it than it is for the
person to see it. Not to say they are going
to absolutely love it, but you get a little kick
out of this as well. Let me show you the trick and show you why this is
one of my favorite, favorite tricks to perform. So you have someone shuffled
deck of cards like this. Okay, so the cards have really, really well mixed and shuffled. And you have them pick
a card so they'll reach in and take any card they want. You can turn your
back and have them have a look at it and
do all that stuff. I'll just show it so you guys so you guys can follow along. So here we have
whatever this cards, okay, let's imagine that
I'm doing the trick on you. So I do want you to
take part in this, okay, so remember the card. I'm going to cut the
cards like this, okay, just say stop
wherever you want. And let's imagine you say stop their place the card back and I'd lose the
card in the deck like so. So the chances now if
Me find in your card, I like one-in-a-million, right? One in 1 billion now
has like one in 52, but still like pretty railroads. So we're gonna have a bet. So if I don't find your card, I'll buy you a drink,
energy drink you'd like. But if I define your card, you buy me a drink, say ideal. Alright, so we've make a deal. The thing here is,
I'm going to be looking for your reactions. Good luck, stone
into a camera lens. But when you're doing the
trick on the Spectator, you'd say I'm going to try and
pick up on your reactions. So I'm going to try and pick
up on your body language, on your micro
facial expressions. So don't react to a
UC or card, right? So I'm gonna go through
the cards like this. Give them a little rub. I'm usually pretty good at this. I'm usually very good
at this. I think. Like kicking the cards
all over the place. I think. No. No.
No. Definitely not. Definitely, definitely,
no. No. That's it. Yeah. I think the next card I
turnover is gonna be your card. Right? We shook on it. We have a deal. Remember, if I took the Ten of diamonds and turned it over, I think you owe me
a drink, right? So this is a really intrigued because they think
you've messed up. They think you screwed it up. They think they've got to
drink out of you and then just ride that the last second. You take first position. And it's brilliant,
brilliant funds. So let me teach how
to do this one. Very, very easy. Let's go
6. Circus Card Trick - Explanation: Alright, this is one of my
favorite card tricks to do because it looks like
you screw up, right? It looks like you
completely mess it up. And it's a brilliant way
for winning free drinks. So 22 reasons why I
love doing this trick. And even after like
30 plus years of performing magic, I
still do this Tricks. It's so much FUN. So let me explain how to do it. Again, like every
single trick in this course is super,
super easy, right? You have them shuffled cards. So when you get the cards back, you say so look, you can see the cards are shuffle, write. Similar to other
tricks in this course. What you're doing here
is it looks like you're being honest than showing
the cards are Shuffle. But really what I'm doing is I'm remembering
that bottom card. So right now, I'm
remembering the queen of spades and I commend
that to memory, but it into my memory. And they have no idea
that you've done that. Just don't make it obviously, I don't be like, yeah, you just say look in the
cards a shuffled and I just clock that bomb
card and I remember it. So you then have
them pick a card so you spread the cards are like this and they'll take a card. You can turn your back and
have them have a look at Card. So see you guys
can follow along. I'll show it to the
camera here. So I'm going to use then
on heart's, right. So let's imagine
they've chose the card. You've got your back
turn, you've not seen it. When you turn back around and the cards face down, It's okay. I'm going to cut
little packets of cards from the top of the deck like this
wherever you want. Just telling me to stop. And they'll stop. You. Place the card back
on what's gonna go right on top of their card. But the card you've
remembered, right? Don't sign it face up like this. I'm just showing you guys right. So the card you remembered is going to be going right on
top of their card, right? So now you know exactly
what to look for. You just look for
the queen of spades, but here's where you sell it. You say, okay, we're
gonna have a little bit. If I don't find your card,
I will buy you drink. You can have any drink you want. But if I do find your card, you got by measuring deal
and you make the deal. But you say to them,
if you see your Card, don't react, don't give anything away because I
might be able to tell. Yeah. So complete poker face, no expressions are going to try and read your body language, so just stay
absolutely like stone. And then you start turning
the cards face up like this. And I'd like to rub a little on the back as if you're trying to pick up on the
psychic vibrations. And all you're doing is
you're making a little messy pile on the table. Now. The one thing that I'm
doing now is I'm just looking for one Card
right to the card, but I remembered Queen space. Alright, so I'm looking
for that queen of Spain. And that's all I'm doing. So as I'm turning the
cards up like this, I'm just looking for one Card. And as I do this, I'm just staring at them
and trying to pick up, I know the next Card now see, I saw the queen of
spades go down. I know the next card
is gonna be this, but I'm not going to stop. I'm gonna go past it. And I'm going to keep the zero. I'm still looking for the card, but I've left it there. And they've seen it go down. And they apparently see
that you've messed up. And then you go, Yeah,
I think I got it. I think the next card I
turnover is gonna be yours. They think you mean
this one, right? They think that you've
completely messed this up, but listen to the words. I think the next card is
turnover is gonna be yours. You never said it's gonna
be this one, right? The next card I turnover
is gonna be yours. Pretty confident, shake on it. And of course the repeat
hand off at this point, they think they've
got a drink out of you and you reach down, take their card and
flip it over and you better get ready to run because they will
want to kill you. But this is so much FUN. Have found with this one guys
7. Sisters Card Tricks- Peformance : Alright guys, first
record, of course. Are you ready? So anytime you can give
the deck of cards to a spectator and have them do everything that
they shuffled, they cut, they deal, and the magic happens. You have got a miracle on your hands because
they're gonna be like, but you didn't do anything. You didn't even touch the cards. And that's what makes this
next trick so strong because the spectator does everything. Let me show you what I mean. So we're going to
use to cards, okay, the two queens, I'll tell you why they are important
in a second. But first of all,
here's what you do. You give the cards to the
Spectator and you'd say, I want you to deal the
cards in a pile on the table and you can
stop whenever you want. So they start dealing
the cards like this. Then anytime they want,
they're going to stop. So when they feel like
it, they'll stop. And then you'll say, Okay,
take the first queen and place it face up into
the pack like so, and drop the rest of
the cards on the top. And that's pretty far right? And do the same thing again. So you ask them to
deal the cards once again into a pile just like this and anytime
they want and they really can stop
anywhere they want. They stop. You asked them
to take the second queen, put it onto the cards, can place the other cards on
top. Just like that. Say so let's think about
this for a second. You've done everything right. You dealt the cards yourself, the cards have been
in your hands today. Touch the cards. Influence where you
stopped dealing, you ought to completely
free choice, right? They're going to say yes. You say That's interesting
because now if we have a look where you put those queens or we can see the two queens here
face up and the deck. So I'm just going to take the card that's
above each queen. So this card right here
and this card right here. The interesting thing is that even though you could
have stopped at any single one of these Cards, you help the Queen's
Find the twin sisters. The cards have been in
their hands the whole time. They've done everything and
you've got a miracle, right? Let's get into it.
8. Sisters Card Trick - Explanation: This is a cool trick, right? So the reason why this
is so magical is because the spectator does
everything you give them the cards they deal, they can stop
wherever they want. And yet they managed to find the two mates of the
Queens is so, so cool. So here's what you need
to be able to do this. First of all, you need to
do a little small setup. It's very, very simple indeed. So you're going to take the four queens and
you're going to have them in alternating colors. So in this case, red,
black, red, black. And you're going to
take those four queens, put them on top of
the deck, and then take that top card and
put it on the bottom. So that will essentially
give you black, red, black on top with
the other queen, the red coin on the bottom. Alright, so you've secretly
set this up before you start and you
start the trick. So you're going to deal the
top two cards onto the table. So one on top of the other. So first queen,
second queen on top. And this will mean that
the, the mates will match. The Red Queen will find
the other Red Queen. The black queen will find
the other black queen. So you give the deck of
cards to the Spectator. New say I wanted
to take the cards, I don't want to deal them
in a pile on the table. You can stop wherever you want. Now, they start to deal
the cards like this. And then they stop
whenever they want. You instruct them to take the first queen and
place it onto that pile. And you say put the rest
of the cards on top. Now, unbeknownst to them, the queen that
matches is secretly on the bottom of
this pile, right? And they don't know that, so
they'll drop them on top. And then that's your
first queen done. The two queens and scattered, they have no idea that
they've done that. You then say, Yeah, you're
going to take the cards again. You instruct them to
deal the cards one more time in a pile on the table
and they can stop forever. They want they start dealing
the cards like this. And they can stop
wherever they want. It really doesn't matter
when they're happy. You asked them to
take the final queen, place it on top of those cards, and drop the rest of
the cards on top. And because of your setup, now what they're
doing is dropping the other queen right
on top of that. So42 baby. So you've got now the
two queens matching up. But you do a little
bit of a recap. Now this is really important, you say to the Spectator,
see, you've done everything. You had the cards
in your own hands. Did I touch the cards and
there'll be like, No. You were dealing,
did I influence you? Did I make you stop
at a certain point? They'd be like No. I said that's interesting
because this is the place, so this is the position where
you've put the two queens. And now all you do is you take
the card above the queen. In other words, if you imagine
the Queen's looking up, it's gonna be
looking at its mate, is gonna be looking
at the other queens. So that's how you
can remember the Queen's looking up. So
it's the card above. So you take the card
above, the first queen, come over here, card above the second
queen. Just like that. And you say, wasn't
it interesting that even though you
could have stopped it, any single one of those cards, you actually helped
the two coin queens, Queens, queens, find
that twin sisters. And that's just
such a cool trick. The Spectator had the cards
in their hand the whole time. They did everything.
And you have a miracle. And you guys
9. An Emotional Discovery Performance: Alright, so this is a picker
Card, find a card trick, but you do it in a way that
seems absolutely impossible. You do it under the
strictest conditions in the first possible way. And yet you managed
to find the card, and it requires very, very little skill whatsoever. The key here is all
in the presentation. So you have someone
shuffle a deck of cards. I give the cards are
a mixed like this. And then you can spread
the cards out and show that the cards R&D,
very well shuffled. You say, okay, here's, here's
what I'd like you to do. I'd like to reach over, Offer group of cards and hold
them against your chest, make sure that I
don't see anything. So they'll reach over and they hold the cards
against the chest, like okay, When you feel ready, I want you to look down
at the bottom card, the card right against
your heart right now. Okay. And I'll turn away. So obviously I can't say anyway the moment, but I want you guys
to follow along so I'm going to cover
my eyes like this. Let's imagine now that you look down and you see
this card, right? You see this card, and
you'd remember it. And then you put the cards back against your chest like this. Okay. And I turn back and say Now, I want to be fair
about this one, it'd be more fair about this. So I want you to
give the cards in your hand, just a single cut. So you cut the cards in your hand or they cut
the cards in their hand. And you say now there may
be a possibility that I know the top or bottom card
of the packet on the table. So I want you to cut
anywhere you want, lift up a group of Cards, place these cards inside and lose that group
somewhere in the deck. So think about this
now for a second. It's been so further been holding the cards
against the chest. They've got anywhere
they wanted. They've had a little
look at the card, then they've
immediately cut it into that deck and then cuts it
into the deck on the table. It seems impossible that you could know the
card. However. You stare lovingly
into their eyes. And he said you can
getting something, getting the impression of
one Card, one Card only. You chose a black card. He shows a five. No. No, I didn't think so either. That's why I got your card. The jack of diamonds
10. An Emotional Discovery Explanation : I love this stroke. This is
such a sneaky trick, right? Because this is essentially someone is thinking of a card. So they've taken
a look at a card, the thinking of it,
and you find it. However, it's done
in a way that seems absolutely impossible
that holding the cards against the chest, the cutting it into the deck. And the more Impossible that
you apparently Make it, you're actually leading
them further and further away from
the actual secret. This is like misdirection
at its best. So let me show you this trick. Let me
show you how to do it. You have someone shuffle
a deck of cards. Shuffle the cards like this. When you get the deck back, you're going to turn it face
up and you're going to see, look, so all of the cards
are shuffled, right? I'm, This seems very fair. It's not fair. This is where you cheat because
all you're gonna do quite simply is you're going to catch
a glimpse about Top Card. So right now I'm going to
look down and I'm going to remember the eight of hearts. Not like in the last take
where I completely forgot it. But you're going
to look at the top Card and remember the top card. So in this case, I'm
remembering the ace of hearts. They don't know that
you've done this. So they're going to admit, yes, I've shuffle the cards. So okay. I want you to cut the cards and cut them anywhere you want and quickly hold them
against your chest so there's no way that
I can see anything. So they cut the cards like this and the hello cards
against their chest, okay, Now remember, you
know, this card, right? This is the top card, you know, this is the at the
card you remembered. So you say, Okay, I'm
going to turn my back. When I turn my back, I'd like to take a little look at the card against
your chest right now, the card at the bottom
of that packet. Alright, so you turn around
and they'll quickly have a little look at the card
against their chest like this. Now, I'll show it to you guys
so you can follow along. So they're going to
remembering the, the, the ace of
hearts right now. Alright. So that's the
card that they'll see. And then they'll put Card cards, then they'll put the
cards back against the chest like this, right? And then you turn back
around and you say out, I don't want to be any way
that I could see that card. So I want you to quickly just
give the cards are Cuts. And this is the secret
because you know, this top card, right? When they cut the
cards, they're going to be cutting the cards like this. They're going to pick cutting
the card that you know, right next to the card that they've just
looked at, right? So now the two cards together, and that's the secret
to the whole trick. You now make it even more
elaborate and you say, but there may be a
way that I could know the top and bottom
of the card on the, the packet of cards
on the table. I want to make it
even more impossible. So what I'd like you to
do is to reach over and anywhere you want the
cards on the table. So they'll reach over, cut
a little, pack it off. And he's saying in place
you're cards in your hand into the pack so that now there is absolutely no way that
I could know the card. So remember you
shuffle the cards, you cut them and held
them against your chest. My back was turned. Then you cut the
card into that and then cut the cards
into this pack. It really does seem impossible
that you could have any idea what their card is. However, we know the ETA hearts and we know that their
card is next to it. So all you do is you still
lovingly into their eyes? Please do a better job than
I did in the performance. When I go through like this. When you go through like this, all you're doing
is you're looking for your key card, right? So the card you remembered, which is the ace of hearts, the one after it is gonna
be their card, right? So you just bring the
cards up like this. I've spotted the card
that I remembered. I know the one after it. So the card to the left of
it is gonna be their card. And you'll place it
down on the table. And I like to just miss call it. I'll go. It's a
black card, right? It was a club. Now, I didn't think so either. That's why I've got your
card, the ace of hearts. So this is a really nice example of a trick that's
very, very simple, but you seemingly make it
more Impossible and lead them further and further
away from the secret, you're gonna get a
kick out of This one
11. The Spectator Cuts the Aces Performance : So just because I'm
a really nice guy, I know this is a top ten lists, but I'm going to throw
this in as a bonus. So this is another
way that you can have the Spectator Find the
Aces only this time. Instead of doing it, they do it, which quite often makes it a much stronger trick because they've done everything right. And you'll see that
that's an ongoing theme throughout this course. If a spectator does everything, it automatically makes it
a really strong trick, which is kinda cool when
you think about it. So with this, you have, you shuffle a deck
of cards like this. And then you give it
to the Spectator. And you say, right,
I'm going to have you carry out a rich ritual. And if we do the ritual right, something pretty, pretty
cool That's going to happen. So you ask them to cut the deck of cards into
four packets like this, just dropping a couple of
cards off each time, right? They do that. And he said I wouldn't need
to take the first packet. I'm going to take three cards and place it
underneath the others. I'm placed three cards on top
of the remaining packets. And they do that
with each packet. So they take three cards like this, they
put it underneath. Then he put three cards on
the top of each packet. Again, three cards underneath, and three cards on the
top of each packet. And the final packet,
three cards underneath, and three cards on the top. That each packet, if we've
done the ritual correctly, and remember the spectators
done all of this. You have them turn over the
top card of each pile and they have found the four aces
12. The Spectator Cuts the Aces Explanation: Alright guys, so this
is another version of finding the Aces. The nice thing about
this version is the spectator does everything, they do the ritual. And so I know there's
another version on finding the Aces
on this course, but I thought it might
be nice just to have a bonus version because this is one that I
used to perform. I think it's pretty cool because the spectator
does everything. So what you need to do
is you need to secretly have the four aces
on top of the deck. Alright, so before you start, you've got the four aces
on top of the deck. Now this is optional. If you want to
apparently shuffle the cards like this,
Here's a way to do it. You don't need to
do this, but I'm just throwing this in as bonus. Instead of shuffling the cards. Your hand like this,
you're going to turn the deck face up like that. Now if you do an
Overhand Shuffle, drawing cards from
the face like that, get to about halfway or so. And then the remaining cards
just placed underneath the other cards like that and then turn
the cards face down. And it just means
that you still got your four aces on top of the
deck. Pretty sneaky, right? So it looks like this. Instead of shuffle the
cards face down like this, you just give the cards
casual or shuffled. Place these back underneath. And it gives the impression that you could for cards and mix. Important thing with
this is not to don't, don't make a big thing about it. It's just a casual thing here. Let me show you, let me
show you a trick, right? In fact, you're gonna
do this and that's the sort of attitude
that you want. It. It's not important. If
you act like it's not important the audience not going to pay too much
attention to it. So anyway, you're going to give the cards to the spectator
and you're going to say what I'd like you
to do is to cut the deck into four piles and
you can actually show them, it's probably good
that you're going to just cut from the
bottom of the deck, just a couple of the cards, a good packet of Cards go from the bottom of
each of the cards. So you start to
demonstrate like that. Just dropper, drop a few cards off the bottom each
time like that. So you kinda demonstrate
what you'd like them to do. And of course, they would
then take the deck of cards and they would
cut, cuts and cuts. Right? So you end
up with four piles. Now your race is over
here at this point. You've got your four aces on top of this file, but
they don't know that. Cc, I'm going to
teach you the ritual. You start from the pilot, the opposite end of the
Aces might you say, Why don't like you
to do is to take three cards and put
them underneath. And then put a card on top of each of the
piles on the table. So you have them do
this with each pile. So they're going to take
three cards underneath and then one Card on top
of the piles on the table. And you explained that
this is a ritual. They do this with
the next 13 cards underneath and three cards on the top of each of the
piles on the table. When you get to the last one, this is so cool. So remember this has now got like three cards on top of it. You do the ritual,
three cards underneath, which is getting rid
of the three cards on top of the Aces, right? And then a card on the top
of each pile on the table, ace, ace, ace, and you've got, you find a lace on
this one, right? So that's how the ritual sets the whole thing up. But
it looks very cool. And then at the NDC now
you've done everything. Yeah. You've had the cards
in your hands. You cut the cards into four
piles and you did the ritual. And you have them turn over
the top card of each pile. And they have found
the four aces. And I think that is a
very, very cool trick. It's a nice way to find
the four aces and joy
13. The 21 Card Trick Perfomance & Explanation: I'm not even line here. This is the first Card
Trick I ever saw. My dad showed it to me. Chances are, it's a very, very famous Card Trick. He may have seen
this one before. It's called the 21 Card Trick. And chances are if I've done a show and I meet with
people at the end, or people comes to say
height at the end of the show and they say,
Can I show you a trick? Chances are, it's going
to be this one, right? But it is, it's easy to do. It require no setup. And it's a Killer trick. So it's a brilliant one
to know because you can do it with any deck of cards anytime, anywhere, no setup. And it's absolutely
mind-blowing. So you have someone
shuffle the cards like so. With this one, I'm
going to explain it as I go through it and it's probably going to be
better for you to follow along with the cards in hand. Because the cool,
cool part about that, as you're going to actually
feel yourself, right, you get to trick yourself
and you'll see alcohol, this trick it, right? So, but I'm going to explain the trick rather than do
it on someone because I don't have anyone
to do the trick on because I have no friends. That's enough for that, right? So you have someones shuffle
the cards like this, have the cards, mix
the cards like this. Then you take the cards
and you're going to deal out at three rows
of seven cards. So I'm going to start
on my right, okay, and we're going to
just steal the cards face up like this, that's 123. Now you're going to go
as if you're dealing around of cards like this, and you're going to
deal seven cards in each of the three roots, okay? So that's five. Mode levers, six, that's seven. Okay, so we've got 1234567 cards in each
of the three rows. You say so I don't want
you to pick a card, I just want you to think of one. Don't don't give me any indication of what the card is about of all the cards here. I just want you to think of
one Card and remember it. So let's say, for example, sake right now, someones thinking to the
four hearts, alright? You say to them, imagine
they're just thinking of it. You've got no idea what it is. But you say, all I want
you to do is to tell me which of the three rosettes
in don't point at the card, just telling me the row. So in this example, they would say the
middle row, okay? So each time we do this, you're going to place
the middle row. Imagine that now you've got the three packets
of cards like this. You're always going
to place this in the middle of the other two. So in this example, I'm plate, I said sandwiching this packet in-between the other
two packets. Right? So that's the way you do it. Then. Now you turn the cards face down and you're going
to once again deal out in exactly the same way you did before
starting on the right. I'm going to the left, like this and he's
going to deal out again three rows of seven cards. So as you deal the
cards out like this, you end up again
with three rows. And this time you say again, don't tell me the
name of the card, just tell me which row it's in. And for our example, now, it could have moved
at this point, it's kinda stayed
in the same place. So at this example, it's
still in the middle. So whichever row they say, you make sure that
that packet of Cards goes in-between
the other two. So in this example, our fours in the middle packets, so we replace that in the middle of the other
two packets like this. And then you go one more time. And this is the
final time again, starting on the right and
go into the left like this. And you're going to deal out
three rows of seven cards. So just like this, just like you did before. And this is good
because the cards actually moved this
time because it will move around for the
final time. You asked them. Now which row is the card? And of course in our example, it's the four of hearts, so
they would indicate this row. So again, you're going to
put this packet of cards, that packet of cards they named
in-between the other two. So I'm going to
place this card on top because it contains the card and then this
one on top of that. So we sandwiched it in the rows. You're going to turn these
face down and put it back on top of the deck. Now the cool part about this is, doesn't matter which
card they thought of. If after each time
they tell you the row, you've put it in-between the
other two and del out as, as we've said, you're going
to fill yourself now. Because if you deal out
the cards and spell, I'm a magician, you
will find their card. So we deal one Card
for each letter. That's I, M magician and a, G, C, I, a, N, one Card, their
card before of heart. And hopefully you
filled yourself. All right. So it's it's a procedure
that you do three times, three times three rows of seven cards and whichever
row they mentioned, you just make sure
it goes in-between the other two packets of cards. You do that three times. And at the end, no matter
what card they've thought of, no matter where it, where it
is or how it's jumped about. At the end. You spell are, I'm a magician and you'll
always find their card.
14. Unlocking the Code Performance: So imagine being able to have a deck of
cards shuffled and then putting a code into the deck which unlocks
the four aces. Sounds pretty cryptic, right? Sounds pretty cool. So this is what the
trick looks like. You get a deck of cards
shuffled like this. So all the cards are
pretty well-mixed. And he say, Okay, I'm going
to show you a kind of ritual, ritual that will unlock
this deck of cards. So in other words, I'm
going to just start to turn a couple of cards face up. And these will give
us the code that will unlock something pretty
cool in a second. Alright, so I think
that should do it. Alright, so now
we've got our code. I'm going to cut the
cards like this. So we've got a group
of cards here. We've got a group of cards here. We've got a group of cards here. We've got a group of cards here. So now you've shuffle
the cards, right? And the completely
random order you give the cards are
first shuffle, right? But hopefully with
this code king, a king, queen, we're going
to unlock something. Let me show you
what I mean. So in other words, a week got kinky. If we spell the word king, that's K and V.
Spell the word ate. The gene page T, spell the word king
and queen, QU. And I don't know why
this always works. But even though you shuffle
these cards with that code, it always unlocks the four aces. You find the four aces from
a shuffled deck of cards. What a card shock
15. Unlocking the Code - Explanation : Alright guys, so this
is a cool trick. It's not a pick a card trick, it's something
completely different. You take a deck of cards, you have them shuffled
by the Spectator. And then you talk
about codes and unlocking the
secret of the deck. And it's all sort of very, now you see me slash
Da Vinci Code, right? Which makes this really
appealing to me. I think it's a really,
really awesome premise. So here's what you do. Give the cards through the Spectator and
have them shuffled. And then when you
get the cards back, all you need to do is to
make sure that the Aces are spread out
throughout the deck. So in other words, you don't want the
Aces close together. You want the four
aces pretty much evenly distributed
throughout the cards. So in other words,
if I spread out now, we can see that this is
work all this is good. Alright, so you can see that the four aces, they're
not altogether. In other words, it's not
an Acer Card than another as you want to evenly
spread throughout the deck. So we got lucky here. If it doesn't happen this way. And you find that the Aces
are close together and you'll see why as we go through,
through the Explanation. You can, you'll see why they're supposed
to be spread out. But if you see that they're
too close together, just give the cards back to the Spectator and say
Shuffle more, Shuffle more. I want to be absolutely sure that these
cards have really, really want MAC well-mixed. So they shuffle and Shuffle
and Shuffle in Shuffle. And actually, the
more they shuffled, the more Impossible it
seemingly makes this right. When you get the cards back,
here's what you're gonna do. You're going, it goes
through the cards like this. You're going to do it
with the cost toward you so that they can't
see what you're doing. But obviously, I'm going to show you exactly what I'm
doing from here. All I'm doing is I'm going
through the cards like this. When I spot an ace, the
Carlson's left of it. So we've got the
ace of spades here, the cards to the
left of the ACE. I'm going to turn face down. Alright, I'm going to just stick it out of the
deck like this. This is known as out joke, but I don't want to
complicate things. You just have it sticking out
the deck. Go through again. I'm going to find my neck
stays the ace of clubs, so the card next to it, I'm going to turn it over. Leave it sticking out the
deck so it's backwards. It was the only difference is it's face down and
go through again, Find the next stage,
the ace of hearts. So the card next to it, we're going to
turn it face down, leave it sticking
out the deck, right? And then remember
you do all this with the cards towards you so you can't see what you're
up to at this point. Finalize the cards to the
left of it for six of spades, I'm going to turn it face down. But it backward it was but
sticking out the deck, right? So you've got this
situation here like that, and you square all of
these cards up like that. So basically all you've
done is you've took the card to the left of each case and you've
turned it face down. That's all you've done. They don't know that
you've done it. Then the cards face down. Now. We need to do now
is this group of face down cards that are above the first face up card to the bottom
of the deck, right? So you essentially just
cut the deck, right? You put the first
face up card down, and then all the cards
Below that face-up card. But before the
next face-up card, your place underneath that
first card like that, right? Next face at Card you
place on the table. All the cards Below
that face up card. But before the next face down, face up card, you're going
to place on the table. That face at Card down all the facedown cars that
were underneath that card. But before the
next face of Card, you're placed
underneath that Card. And finally, you'll
place your final face of card down and all of
the cards underneath that. So you say that now
you've unlocked the Code 68 king jack, that is the Code. Secretly what you've done that they have no idea
you've done this is, you've now got the four
aces on the top here, okay, but you're going
to disguise this by saying it's like a code. So you're going to say the
first face of Card is a six. So we've respell six, dealing a card to the
table for each letter, that's S Phi X. And you take the rest of the cards and you
place them on top. You're going to do
this three more times. So eight, E, F, G, H, T, and the rest of the cards, you placed them on top, King. You spell out king
dealing a card for each letter K and G, put the rest of
the cards on top. And then Jack, he spelled J, C, K, rest of the cards on top. You so well that's the Code. And what I like to
do here is just turn these face-up cards face down on top of the
packets. That's the Code. If that's the correct code, we should have unlocked. A surprise, the 1234 aces. You find the four aces from
a shuffled deck of cards using cryptic codes and a DA vinci code
like presentation. I think this is a
wonderful trick guys. So practice it. It might be a little
confusing at first. It might seem like
there's a lot going on, but after you go over
it a couple of times, you're going to
have it in no time. Alright. Enjoy
16. The Impossible Prediction Performance: So this trick I learn
in a newspaper, and I didn't think
anything of it. I just was reading the
newspaper and I saw the trick. I just kinda went through it. Okay, that's, that's kinda cool. But forgot all about it. Then about a couple
of weeks later I was doing a show and I did the
most mind-blowing lead, difficult sleight of hand. You have ever seen literally like killing myself 30
min, knocking myself out. And at the end, they went key, another key, do one more. I was, I was a bit stumped, but anyways, something made
me think of this trick. I did this trick. It was like everyone's favourite trick that I was like I got of it, it I've just been
talking about Self out for 30 min and then I do a trick that I
found in a newspaper. But it's really
easy anyone can do. And yet you've got
the best reaction. So the question is, why or why did it get
the best reaction? Well, again, from
start to finish, give the cards,
that's a spectator. They did everything. They made the trick happen. And they were like, But
you didn't do anything. And that's what made
this Trick stronger than all of the other knuckle Boorstin stuff that
I've done it before it. This is what the
trick works like. You get someone to
shuffle the cards. They give the cards are
really good mix and I could shuffle anyway they want. Then the end that you
can see that it's a pretty well shuffled deck. And then you have them take
the cards and you say, oh, actually before
we do anything else, I'm going to take out
Prediction card, right? Let's take out Prediction Card. I feel is gonna be
important later on, but that's the only
thing I'm gonna do. I'm going to give
the cards to you, so you give the cost to them. And you say from this point on, I will not touch the cards. You say take the
cards like this, and I want you to
just start to deal the cards in a
pile on the table. Already. Keep dealing.
I'm going to keep dealing anytime you can stop. So they're going to
keep dealing and keep dealing and at some point
they're going to stop. You, say you got any idea how many cards you
just don't know. Did I influence the number of cards that you just
dealt on the table? No. Did I touch the cards? No. Did you shuffle the cards? Yes. Well, let's go one step further. So what I'd like you to
do is to deal of cards in-between menu
like a poker game. And so they do that. They deal you Academy Card,
You caught me a card. So they're gonna go
back and forth dealing themselves a card and
dealing you at Card. So they're doing everything at this point. They've had
the deck in the hands. The deck in their
hands the whole time. Okay, and you've not
touch the cards. He says So let's just recap for a second what we have here. I took a card out
before we even started. You use shuffle
the cards, right? You shuffle the cards and then you dealt a number of cards. Did I did I control how
many cards you don't know. Did I influence you in any way? No. Could you have dealt any
number of cards you wanted? If you did dealt a
different number of cards, we'd have a completely
different outcome. But these two cards are going to tell me something
about this Card. For example, this card is
going to tell me the number. This card is going to
tell me the number, and this card is going
to tell me the suit. So if this is a nine
and this is a club, then that will make
this card the nine. Oh, they've had the cards in
their hands the whole time. They've shuffled, they
dealt, they did everything. You have a miracle,
wins all around. Let's get after it
17. The Impossible Prediction Explanation: Alright, so you've really
got to try this trick on someone to appreciate
how strong this is. The key to this whole
trick is selling the impossibility of it
is all presentation. Maybe if you get the
presentation right, then it will absolutely destroy. So I'm gonna give you some tips as to how you can do
that as we go on. The actual trick is really easy, like it's super, super easy and you just gotta be like
kicking yourself going. Why is that seriously? And it's easy to think about
these tricks and going, okay, they're all easy then maybe they're
not that impressive. Couldn't be further
from the truth. The key to the whole thing is the presentation doesn't matter how difficult the trick is. It depends how you present it. The reaction that you're gonna
get from the audience is all about how Impossible
you make it seem. So this Trick is a really good example of how we can do that. So you don't require any
special setup whatsoever. You can borrow deck of cards. You have the cards
shuffled, mixed. And as soon as you
got the cards back, you're going to spread
the cards out like this. You can spread
them on the table. You can split them
between your hands, whichever way you're
going to do it. You just say, Look, this is, you've chose the order of
these cards now, right? Again, it looks like
you're being honest. You're not, you're doing
this for a reason. Because what you
wanna do is you want to look at the top
two cards here. So if I just move these
aside for a second, I'm looking at these two
cards and I'm making a card by using the number of one Card and the
suits of the others. So in this example, if I use the number of
the first Card, which is the two and the
suits of the second card, we have the two
of spades, right? Give you another example. So say you've got
the cards back. The different example here, you've got the cards back.
Look, they're all shuffled. Again. I'm going to look
at these two cards. So here we have at
four as the number and a club as the suits, four of clubs, you get the idea. It's very, very casual. So you receive the cards back. Can you say look, you can
see they're all shuffled. And I've looked there
and I've gotten four of clubs and
I've created a card. Now, if whatever reason, you spread the cards
and you have either two cards of the same suits or two cards of the same number. You just say, Tell you what,
give them another shuffle. I want to be
absolutely sure that deck is well-mixed because it makes what we're about to
do absolutely impossible. So just give them the deck back and say give,
give the cards. Another Shuffle. More shuffled is more shuffled. While I shuffled,
It's almost like the more they shuffle a deck, the more Impossible
It's going to make the trick because it has
nothing to do with it. But it doesn't mean that you get another shot at just
spreading the cards out. And now you can see I'm in a much better position and
I've got an a and a diamond. So I, I say that they've
shuffle the cards. You say, Look, the cards are all mixed, are
all shuffled, right? And I looked down and
ICMA and a diamond. So immediately I
bring the cards to my chest and I remove
the ace of diamonds, the card that I've just created
from the top two cards. You turn the cards
back around and you place them in front or give
them to the Spectator. Remember, we've got the first two
cards here that we know. You're going to
laugh now because it's so stupid, it's so easy. You've taken a card
out and you say, what I want you to do
is I want you to take the cards and what's the deal them in a
pile on the table. So of course, what's
gonna happen here is those cards that you've
just remembered. They're gonna go down onto the table first, so
they're gonna be here. All of the accounts are
going to go on top and they're going to stop dealing
whenever they want, right? So say they stop there. Okay. Now, here you add a bit
of time misdirection. So you want to take
you want to take them away from what
they've just done. So you say, now, I'll lead
them down the garden. In other words. So you say if you got any idea how many
cards you just dealt, know you weren't counting. Now, did I influence
the amount of cards that you just don't know? She had a completely
free choice? Yeah. Okay. I want you to take those
cards and you've just created a little bit of time
from what they've just done. That helps sell
the impossibility. You say take them cards
and I want you to deal them between you and me as
if we're in a poker game. So they deal one Card as you, one Card to themselves and they keep dealing the
cards like this. But essentially what this is doing is just reversing
the order of the card. They just don't have the table. So that basically means that
the two top cards are now back on top of these
two packets, right? These are the cards
that we made. Remember? Just crazy, we've got the eight and the dome so
you write it down. So it's really stupid. Why do you think about it? They've just dealt a pile of cards and then they've just reversed the order of
the Cards. Thats it. But you're putting up this
smokescreen by your recap. Now listen to the recap. So I say so the
start of the trick, I took a card out, right? Yeah. You shuffle the cards? Yes. And then you dealt the cards. Now immediately, I've created a false memory because that's
not what happened at all, but that's what
they'll remember. In other words, they shuffle
the cards and then I took for card out but by
switching back and go in, do you remember I
took a card out. You shuffled the cards and
they're going to say yes. Then you dealt as many cards down onto the table
as you want it. And I had no influence and the cards have been in
your hands the whole time. So it creates a false memory. It sounds like they
shuffle and then just started dealing
straight away. It's not what happened at all, but it's going to
help this whole thing seem even more Impossible. And then we separated the
cards into two packets. So you've done
everything, right? All in the presentation
here guys, this is what really sells it. So you don't have to
remember by the way, which is, which is the
number, which is the suit. I just normally turn
a card over and ago, I remember that was the suit. So I say, so this card is going to represent a suit, right? And this card is going
to represent a number. So if that is a number eight and that is a diamond, we have. And they'll say,
Hey, of diamonds, say and you have just done
they've done everything. They shuffled, they dealt, you didn't touch the cards. And that, believe
me, plays a lot, lot stronger than them when you first learn
that you think, are people going to
see through that, trust me, they
weren't Rehearse it. Try it and it will can trust me?
18. Better Than That Performance: You're gonna love this stroke. Trust me, you're going to
absolutely love this trick. I'm not going to say
anymore than that. I'm just going to show
you the trick and then I know you'll fall in love with it and I'll teach you how to do. So. You're going to
have someone named any number between say, 10.20. So let's say they say,
I don't know, 17. So you deal down 17 Cards. Thats 123-45-6789,
1011, 1213, 1415, 1617. Now, most magicians would have you look at that
Card and remember it. But we can do better than that. We're gonna make it
even more random. So you had a free
choice of any number. So they can say any number, we're just using
17 as an example. So they said 17, 17 is 1.7. We add those digits
together, we get eight. So we're going to
count down 12345678. We've got a new random card, or it have a look at this card and burn it into your mind. This is gonna be
your card, right? Okay, we're going to place it back here so I don't see it. We're going to lose
it into the pack. Like so. Now at this point, most magicians would pick
up the deck and they look through the cards and
they try and find your card. But we can do better than that. I just want you to
repeat the name of the card over and over
and over in your head. Ace of spades, Ace of Spades, ace of spades, right? So, but we can do
better than that. Because if we take the cards
now and we spell out as a, C, E and spades, S, P, D, E, S, right on the letter S, We have one Card, you're card, the ace of spades. Now, most magicians
would stop there. But we can do better than that. Because over here we spell Ace. And if we have a
look at these cards, you'll find that we do in
fact have the four aces. And over here, we spelled Spain. We have a look over here. You can find we have
a flush in spades. Now, most magicians
would stop there. But we can do better than that. Because let's imagine
we were playing poker. Gift the cards, a little riffle. We end up with a royal flush. And there's no way we
can do better than that.
19. Better Than That Explanation: Talk about multiple climaxes, like how many surprises are
packed into this trick? It's amazing. It just, it, it starts off as a, you pick a card, I find it. And then suddenly you
find the four aces. You found a flush and space, and then you end up
finding a royal flush. And the spectators are taken
on this roller coaster ride. It just starts, then it just builds and
builds and builds. Tell you what, this is such
an amazing trick because it's got so many surprises
and it's so easy. Seriously, it's almost
criminal how easy this is. But you get so much out of it. So you need to do a little setup and it's very easy to remember. So first of all, here, the cards that you need
to remove from the deck, You need to remove a royal flush in spades than the
other three Aces. So obviously you've got one
over here are the three Aces. And then just the
flush in spades. So five spade cards, right? And the setup, It's
very, very simple. First of all, you're going
to tuck your ten jack, queen and king of spades
with the ten facing you. And you're going to put
them on top of the deck. Then you're going to
take your four aces with the ace of spades facing you on the top
as you look at it. And you're going to put
them on top of the deck. And then you'll
five spade cards, you're going to put
on top of everything. Now if that's your setup and that's going to make
the whole trick work. So I'm gonna do a little bit
of a false Shuffle here. Don't panic. This whole course is based on no skill whatsoever. So I'm going to
teach you a very, very simple but deceptive
false shuffle to keep those cards were they are obviously normally you'd
shuffle the cards like this. Well, I want you to
do is instead of shuffling the cards with
the cards face down, I want you to flip them face up. When you shuffle
now, you're just drawing cards off the face. A regular shuffled like this, but you're just going to
Shuffle about half the deck. When you get about halfway, you're going to put
these back underneath the other cards like that. And if you do that at speed, it does look like
a genuine Shuffle. But what you've done is you've kept all of your setup cards here nice and intact on
top of the deck, right? So just a very, very simple Shuffle, drawing cards from the face
for the cards face up. And they see a lot of cards and a lot of faces moving around. It's very deceptive. And then when you get here, you just put these
back underneath. And all of your cards are on top where you do
very, very casually. And it really is very deceptive. So to do the trick, you're going to get someone to
do the trick on. And you're going to say,
okay, let's do a trick. You do a casual little
shuffle as you speak to them. These go back underneath. And you say, give
me a number, 10-20. So it can be any number. And what you're gonna do here
is you're going to force the ace of spades on them
in a very clever way. Cinema what number
they'd give you, let's say 15. For example. You're going to deal 15 cards
face down onto the table. So that's 123-45-6789,
10 111-213-1450. Right? You now explain. Most magicians would stop there and have you looked
at Card and remember it. But we're gonna do
better than that. Because the number,
whatever it is, 15 in this example, has got two digits, 1.5, and you add those
two digits together. So if it was 17, it will be 1.7 equals eight. If it was 131.3 equals four. So whatever the number is at the two digits together,
in this case it's 15. So we say we, you chose
a number 15, that's 1.5. If we add those digits
together, we get six. So you now take this packet and deal down six cards, 123456. And you say, and just
have a look at this card. And you have forced the ace of spades on them,
unbeknownst to them, they think this is a
completely random choice, but you've made them
pick the ace of spades, which is the key
to the whole trip. After they've
looked at the card, you're going to place
it back on top of the delt pile on the table and all the
cards in your hand, you're going to place
on top like that. You're going to place
that whole packet back on top of the deck. You're now set for
the Revelation. So you say to them
at this point, most magicians would
pick up the cards that have looked through and they
try and find your card, but I just want you to
think of your Card. Now of course, reading
their mind is pretty easy, that is fine because you
forced the card on them. So we know it's
the ace of spades. So a nice line, line I'd like to use here is just think about
the card, right, and remember it and keep, keep naming it over, over and in your mind, keep repeating the name
ace of spades, Ace of Spades, ace of spades. First reaction,
they're going to freak out because it's
completely random. How could you possibly
know the card, though? Just thinking of, say now most magicians
would stop there. However, we're gonna
do better than that. So if I spell out as
so here you spell it as stealing a card for
each letter That's a, C, E. Here are your other three Aces
now and spades with an S. And you deal the cards
in a separate pile, S, P, D, E, S on the letter S, the card over, and that
is the selected card. Now that isn't absolutely
brilliant trick right now, but that is just set you up for a series of revelations
that just gonna be like Rocky for finale style. So since most magicians
would stop there, but we can do better than that. Because remember over
here we spell Ace. Well, that would explain why. Now over here we
have the four aces. A really nice
Revelation of the Aces. Say now remember over
here we spell spades. That would explain
why over here, we have nothing but spades, a flush in spades. Now, they're gonna be thinking
that has to be it, right? That is, that is an
incredible, That's amazing. But we're gonna do
better than that. And they're thinking what
working you go from here. And at this point is to take the ace of spades like this and you place it
in front of you. And you say, if
we give the cards a little riffle like this, we end up with the
best poker hand you could possibly imagine. And deal of cards off. That's the king,
That's the queen, that's the jack, that's the ten. And we can't do
better than that. You have just blown the mind. And I don't think
there's another trick in this course that has so many surprise endings and
for that makes it one of the favorite tricks in this course for me to take
the time to learn it. There's a little
bit to remember, but it is well, well-worth it. Enjoy guys. Go knock them dead.
20. Out of This World Performance : Alright guys, this is easily in the top ten best Self-working card tricks
because it is one of those tricks were the
spectator does something absolutely incredible and has no idea how they've done it. Normally you'd have
someone take one Card. You're going to ask the
Spectator to pick 26 cards. Therefore, making this Trick
26 times more difficult. That's magicians logic for you. But you go through, they're
going to point to 26 cards. So you're gonna get
1-234-567-8910, 1112, 1314, 1516, 1718 1920 2120, 2203, 2042, 5206. Right. So I just want to double-check. That is 123-45-6789,
1011, 1213, 1415, 1617, 1819 2021, 2324, 2526. And if there's 26 there, there must be 26 here as well. That's, that's very important. Now you say to the Spectator, if I were to tell you
to go through the cards and to separate to know which one is red and
which one is black. You probably wouldn't be
able to do it, right? You'd be like, There's
no way I could do that. So that's why I didn't
ask you through it because I didn't want you
to get in your own head. But if we go through
the cards like so, now you'll notice that you've
actually done just that. It's like go through
the cards like this. You can see all of
the reds are on one side and all the
blacks around the other. And you've actually
managed to separate every single red card from
every single black card. In fact, I don't want
to spend too much time. And this you can see all
the reds on one side, all the blacks on the other. And you've just done
an absolute miracle.
21. Out of This World Explanation: Out of This World, there are
1,000,001 versions of this. It's a classic of magic. The idea is that the Spectator, it takes the cards and they deal the cards randomly
into two piles, and piles are flipped over. They've somehow
amazingly separated all of the red cards
from of the black cards. Quite easily. One of the best Self-Working
automatic card tricks that you can possibly learn. Now, there are a lot of
different ways to do this. This is one of my
favorites because I think it's over before the Spectator realizes even what
they've just done by the time you're
turning over the cards and revealing this incredible, incredible climax at the end. They have no way of
backtracking and figuring out how the heck they
just did this, right? Because they got all
the credit for this. They did all the work. So here's a secret. You're going to
separate the cards before you start into
reds and blacks, right? So you've got all the red cards on top of the black cards. Needless to say, you need
a full deck for this. So 52 cards gives you 26. 26, blacks, makes
it a lot easier. Make sure you tell the
joke is that as well. So you've got the red's
on top of the blacks. They don't know that
you've done this. You've explained
to the Spectator we're gonna do a
little test, right? And what I'd like
you to do is to touch 26 cards in the deck. I should go through. When they touch. You, just stick it out for
deck like this, right? So technical name is al chug, but for your purposes, it's just stick the card out of the deck about
halfway, right? So that's what
you're going to do. So each time that such a card, you're just going
to stick it out the deck like that. Yeah. So as they go
through, that's five. We're gonna do 26. So that's 678910. And we're just imagining
that these are the cards that the
spectator is touching. 1112, 1314, 1516, 1718, 1920, 2012, 0220, 3204, 2526. So when you've got
these 26 cards sticking out of the deck
like so what you're gonna do is reach over the other
hand and just pull them out and put them
off to one side. Then you just you
say I'm want to double-check just to
make sure there are 26. And you're using this as an excuse because
what you need to do now is to reverse the
order of these cards. So as you deal just to
check there are 2061, 2345, 6789, 1011, 1213, 1415, 1617, 1819 2021, 2022, 0324, 2526 cards. What that's just done is it's reversed half of that deck so that when you turn them over, there'll be opposite colors. So you've reversed the order of This packets when he turnover, it'll be reds and blacks. Once you've counted 26
cards here, you say, of course that means there
must be 26 cards here. And what I'm doing here is as I'm bringing the cards
up to look at them, I'm looking down at
the cards and I'm just spotting the first right
card that I come to. So in this case it's
the tender hearts and I'm going to
remember that card. Okay? So it looks like this. If there are a 26 cards here, that also must be 26
cards here, right? On all I'm doing is secretly
I'm looking at the tenant. I'm looking at the
first row Card, remembering what that card
is because you're going to need that in a second since
the ten of hearts, right? So that's done with
the cards facing you. You place the cards down. Then you say to the
Spectator, alright, so if I was to go
through the deck and to ask you which card is red, on which card is black? And we went through
all the cars. You think you'd be able
to do that without any mistakes and they'd
be like, No, no way. You say, well, what if I told
you you'd already done it? Because if we have
a look at the cards now on all you're gonna
do is you're going to take the cards and
you're going to deal one at a time off
the top of the deck. Both at the same time. As you do that. They're going to start to see
this incredible Revelation. We're, all of the
reds are on one side, on all of the blacks
are on the other. And you start going through
the cards like this. And as you're dealing
more and more cards, you can get faster and faster to build the pace
of the routine. But what I'm really
doing is I'm looking, I'm waiting for the ten of hearts the show up in this time. As I'm doing that same look, you separated all of the red cards from all
of the black cards. It's absolutely unbelievable. And there's my ten. When
I see the ten of hearts, I can't carry on
because I know now that now all of these are blank
and all of these are red. We have to switch these packets. And the way that we
do that is as soon as I see my key card appear, I say, let's just
save some time. And I pick this packet
up on my right, and I'm going to put it half
over the packet on my left. My left hand just
picks everything up and turns it over like this. And then you've got all
for black cards here. And you spread these
out here like this. And you read and write cards
spreads out here like this. Then gives you this, this Perfect finished where all of the blacks
from one side and all threads are on the other. Okay? So just to give you a
recap of how that would look, we're just going to
switch these back into position like this. This is the position
we're up to where we are, where we hit our ten
of hearts like this. And we've got the
wrong colors here. This is what it looks
like, a real speed. So you've just dealt
them down and you say, let me just save us some time. All of the blocks on one side at all of the reds on the other, you have an unbelievable
finish with a spectator has separated all the throat cards from
all the black cards. This is a classic of magic. It's super-strong. It's so easy, go out, do it and destroy. So I just wanted to cover
a what if scenario. So the first tip
I'm going to say is when they out jog the car, when you're out jogging,
when you stick in the cards out of
the deck like this, just makes sure that you put them out far enough because that means
that when you strip them out, it's gonna be that much easier. So I'd say just about
halfway is usually my go-to. So when you put
in the cards out, don't put them out a
little bit like that. Just make sure you're
putting them out halfway. So that way it's going to make pulling these out
so much easier. The other thing I'm
going to say is, what have you run out of
cards? What do you do? So let's give the example that you going through the cards like this and you're
going to run out of cards. So you ask them to touch 26 cards and they
got 123-45-6789, 101-112-1314alright. Hold that helps guys
22. The Lazy Man's Card Trick Performance: Let me just kinda put this
Trick into context for you. So imagine this, right. The Spectator has the deck
of cards in their hands. And from the stance of the
finished with the trick, You never touch the cards. You never touch the cards. But they essentially pick card, put it back into the deck, mix into the deck themselves, and put the deck on the table. From that point, you cast
a shadow over the cards. You've never touched them. You can tell them exactly
where the card is in the deck. And they all didn't deal
down to that number. And they find the card. Like just just think
about that for a second. How mind-blowing is that? And that's exactly what you're
going to do in this trick. It's so cool. So obviously, I would give
the cards to somebody else. I'm gonna have to do it
to show you the trick. But you've got ever imagine that the spectator does
everything in this Trick. The cards are in their
hands from start to finish. You've got an absolute miracle. So let me show you the trick. So they, they reach in and
take any card like that. Then you give them the cards and they memorize the
cards from this point. I will show you guys,
remember the card. Got it. I'll turn it face down. So don't say see, I'm
being very FERC license. I can't see it in the monitors. Right. So they've remember the card and you get them to
put the card back and they can mix the card in the deck wherever
they want, right? So they're gonna keep mixing the cards like this
and cutting the cards. And they can do this as
many times as they want. I can even do it with
the cards face up. So the mixing like this and
the Cuts and the cards. And they can cut the cards
as many times as they want. And then they put the cards
face down in front of you. And you've never touched them. You just look them
right in the eye and say position three. And you get them to take
the cards like this, to deal down 123 cards
and they find their card. This is an absolute killer. The ready. Let's get after it.
23. The Lazy Man's Card Trick Explanantion: One of my favorite
tricks on the course. Absolutely Easy to say
that this is phenomenal. And if you can think about
it or put it into context, we're, You never
touch the cards. You end up with a complete
and utter miracle. Like, seriously, this
is such a good trick. And I encourage you
to try this one. Go out. Well, practice it first, then go out and show it to someone and you're gonna
get the best reaction. Seriously, this is killer. So you need a little
setup for this. And it's very easy. You just gonna get any suits. So it doesn't matter
what suits it is. You're going to
have it in order. So in other words,
you've got ace 234-567-8910, jack queen. Alright? So these are
going to help you determine the position of the card at the
end of the trick. But all you need to
remember is that you set up the cards
in numerical order. This can be any suit. I'm just using spades as an example. The cards are in
numerical order, starting with the ace
that's facing you. And going all the way
through to the king. Ace at the face of the packet, king, the back of the
pack in numerical order. These go on the bottom
of the deck, right? Brilliant. Okay. So you're
going to start the trick. You start the trick
by having someone pick a card so you
spread the cards out, have them choose a card, and they take any
card like this, and then you put the cards on
the table in front of them. Remember, secret setup is on the bottom of the deck and
they don't know about it. So they look at the card. So in this example is
the nine of diamonds. They're looking at
the nine of diamonds. They're going to,
obviously you can turn away why they do that. Then you turn back around and you say, okay, you're happy. Your Card, place it on top of the deck. So
they place it on top. You saying give the
cards a single cut, single cup, meaning that they Cuts and then
complete the cut. Now this is putting that setup right on top
of their card, right? Like that. Now, the thing about this, it doesn't matter how many
times they cut the deck. The setup will
always be on top of their card because the
deck quirks like a cycle. So I don't want to go too
much into depth on this, but they can cut the cards as
many times as they'd like. But if we have a look
at the cards now, you can see that here we have the card and then we have
this setup underneath it. So it will always be next. The card will always
be next to the setup, providing that they only give
the cards are single cut, which is why how you explain
it here is very important. You just say a single cut. Okay? And they can do that as
many times as they want. Then you ask them to. You say, okay, well,
I want you to be absolutely sure that the
deck is being mixed. Now turn the cards face
up and cut the cards. And here's where
the secret lies. This is very clever because let's imagine if I spread
through the cards now and find our little setup
here so we know this is the card and here are all
are numbered cards behind. If you imagine, if
they cut the cards. So they cut the cards
directly at their card. Just by sheer fluke. They cut the cards here, so they'd be cutting
the cards on the table. But just as an example, they cut the cards here, right? You see how the
Aces on the bottom? Well that means it's position
one from the top, right. If they'd cut the cards
so that the three is on the face of the deck
than their card is now third from the
top of the deck, because you've got the
ace and two on top of it. If they cut the card, The five was on the face. We now have 1234, the card at the fifth
position, right? So that's how this trick works. What you're gonna do
is you're going to, after they've kept the
cards face down like this, you're going to
tell them to turn the cards face up
and cut the deck. And all you're doing now is you're looking
for a spade card. Now. Instantly I can see a spike
card on the top right now, I know that that card is fourth from the
top, that's 1234. And there's their card, right? But say it wasn't. So say it wasn't. They've
cut the cards face down. You say turn the cards face up and you have
them cut the cards. So you just have them cut the
cards and complete the cut. And you have them carry
on cutting the cards and completing the cut until
they cut to a spade card. So as soon as you
see a spike Card, you now know that tells you that their card is seven down
from the top of the deck. Okay? So you just, you remember that and you say, okay, turn the cards face down. Think about this for a second. You took out a card. You looked at it, you
put it in the deck, You cut the cards as
many times as you want. I've never touch the cards
and I won't touch the cards. Just look at me for a second. Now you've remembered
seven, right? You look in their
eyes and you say, I want you to count down seven cards from the top of the deck, and they'll count down 123456. The seventh card will
be the selected card, and you've never
touched the cards. The cards have been in
their hands the whole time. So this might seem a
little complicated. It's very easy once
you, once you get it, I suppose it's just getting it. So just experiment. Just like I've showed you. Keep cutting the cards, do the trick on yourself
a couple of times. And the card that you
see on the face tells you that position it is
from the top of the deck. It is an absolute miracle. Have FUN with that guys.
24. Skillshare Outro: Congratulations guys, you made it to the
end of the course. Fantastic, well-done. Hope you've had a FUN journey. I hope you've got a good
timeline and all the tricks. So the title of this course
is Self-working card tricks. Obviously all of the
card tricks are very, very easy and don't
require any skill, but they do require practice
just because they're easy Tricks doesn't mean to
say that you can get away with not practicing. So make sure that you'd go over the tricks
and memorize them and go over it so
you're really familiar with the setups, the procedures. So you don't need to think about that when you're
doing the trick, there's nothing worse than stumbling through
a trick and then screwing it up because you just didn't take the time. Practice. For one practice is PFK-1. And two, it just means that when you
do perform the trick, you're going to do
it a lot better. You're going to be able to relax because you're not trying to
remember what you're doing. And you can just focus
on having FUN and blowing the person's mind whoever you're
doing the trick on. So if you've enjoyed the course, I do have some other
courses here on Skillshare, so you can check them out
and I'll put a link to those courses on my Teacher page and potentially after
this course as well. So you'll be able to
find them easily. Lastly, if you have enjoyed
this little journey, if you've enjoyed learning
the tricks and you've got a few tricks that you can go
out and amaze people with, then please leave me a review. If you leave me a
