1. Introduction and Trailer: Hey guys, my name is
bears and welcome to the Encyclopedia
of color changes. In this course,
we're going to look at 20 plus color changes, but wait, you're
probably wondering, what's a color change? A color change is magically transforming one playing
card into another. If you like card magic, then this course is perfect for you because color
changes are some of the most beautiful
and visual things that somebody can learn, which you can use to impress your friends or you can
put them on social media, then you're going to like them. I think you're going to do them because they're not difficult. And even if there is one that
is a bit more difficult, I explain it step-by-step so that there's nothing
to worry about. You'll be able to do it if
you put it into practice. Magic requires practice
just like any other hobby. But I think if you're here, you're ready to put
it into practice. So grab your deck, any data that you have around the house and let's
get it going.
2. What do you need: The only thing that you need for this course is a deck
of playing cards. It can be a poker deck
of playing cards, or it can be a bridge or a canister deck
of playing cards. As long as you can
hold it in your hands. Just like this, you'll be able
to do these color changes. Now, I'm going to be using a poker deck of playing
cards because this is the standard size thick that magicians use
around the world. But honestly, I didn't have
this when I started out. When I started out, I
just used a bridge deck because my family
didn't play cards. So when I ask them for a
deck of playing cards, they were like, yeah, We can give you a thing. I think your aunt has one. Right? Because nobody in my
family used playing cards. So my auntie had a bridge
deck of playing cards, and that's how I started magic. So don't worry about it. All you need is a deck of
playing cards of any size. And you can start
learning these.
3. The level required: Now let's say that you
want to learn this, but you just start it out. Now there's a couple of
things that you need to know before we keep going forward. I've actually posted
a course is called Zero to Hero in card
magic here on Skillshare. And if you're very
new to card magic, then you should
start with that one. Because in that one, you're
going to learn the grips, you're going to
learn the spreading, and you're going to learn
the pickup, the double lift, and everything that
you need to know in order to perform this changes. Now I still go over them very
succinctly in this course. But if you really want
to go in depth and learn these notions
and concepts, then it's better if you
start at a beginner course.
4. Push Through Change | Easy: The way that I do this
color change is by having two cards back to
back in this fashion. Now there are multiple ways in which we can arrive
in this position. But the most famous
one is actually just pushing two cards
with your left thumb. And this is an act
that you get used to. While you keep
fiddling with cards. You push the cards, you get that top card, and then this one you
actually pulled back. But meanwhile, from
underneath you're actually pressing up with
your pinky finger. By doing this, you
are instantly getting a break underneath
discard the second card. And this is a thing that
magicians use all of the time. Now, once we haven't
arrived in this position, we're going to position
the card in this way. Notice how my fingers are
holding the court from the right side and my
thumb is actually coming from above as if wanting to
actually compare this twice. If holding a bottle. Once they come here,
I'm just going to push the card like this
with my thumb. So I keep going up and
then push the card, but I do it while my
wrist don't 180 degrees and my right hand
comes in groups, the car catches the car. So the way that I do it, notice I push with my index and then I
continue with my thumb, push with my index, continue with my thumb. And then I have this
beautiful color change where it looks as if I'm going with my left hand over the cord and changing
its identity. Because if you do
it fast enough, it doesn't look like you
are turning the card. And that's why it changes. It's a beautiful illusion
when done swiftly and surely surprise all of your friends and
family when you do it.
5. The Slap Change | Easy: Here's a change that has been
around for so many ages. High, the chord in your
left and your right palm. Prepare the deck, slab it and drop the card
at the same time. So I'm slapping, dropping
by flexing my fingers. And that will actually create
this beautiful change. The way that you
get that card in poem is completely up to you. You can actually
use one steel that we're actually going to learn in this change, just like that. But honestly, many magicians
in the past taught this just by stealing the chord in any fashion that you want so you can steal it
from the bottom. That was what I did there. You can steal it
from the bottom. It gives stated from the middle. It doesn't matter
where you're from as long as the slept App card hard, then you're going to have
that beautiful color change. You can actually slap
the card and steal it, but it's not as magical. That's where you
just want to slap their card and instantly
the cart will change. This is beautiful if you're
palming the card off the top of the deck while
you're talking to respect it, to attract attention to the
front and then slap the cart. There you have guys
the slab change.
6. The Erdnase Change | Easy: The only change is the most
part change in the history of card magic and it's being
taught in very many bandwidths. Now the worst way they
can do this is by pushing the cart from
over here to the front, coming down and then
changing the car. It's completely horrendous. Please never do
this in your life. The way, the way that
magicians we'll talk, we'll teach you, is to have you hand open next to the cart. Your pinky finger
slightly bent like this. So when you come over the card, when you strengthen that pinky, you can take the card and you
instantly move it forward. Now at this point, you
can actually contact a car from underneath
and change it. And what I mean by
contact that card from underneath is what the
base of our right palm. I'm actually going to come in contact with this card
and pull it towards myself while having my fingers completely squared like this. So that when I come over it, I can push that card
which is kept here. Underneath the three. You're here. Push, pull towards yourself. And this is something
that will happen. Notice, because it's
very cold in this room. The bottom part of my hand
isn't SDK as I want it to be. A fix for this is to just blow hot air in the bottom part
of your hand like this. And once you do this, once it will instantly
start sticking. So before you make a video
or you perform for somebody, just make sure that
your hands are sticky enough in order for the cards to be pulled like this site performed in a couple
of times in front of you. It's very important
not to push the cart. So obviously, that's why the pinky does a
very subtle job, job at pushing
this cart forward. From that point on, you can
just pull this card towards yourself by flying down
pressure on that card, pulling it towards
yourself until it evades over here,
coming forward. And at the same time when
you're coming forward, this finger going to push that three but it's not
pushing it while I'm here because I don't want to attract the attention
towards the fact that this court has actually been out to jogged like this. What I want to do
is I want to cover the card and then
instantly change it. I'm over here. Sorry about that. My fingers I started
getting a bit less sticky. I have over here, I come over it and then the
card has changed. Over here, come over it
and the card has changed. So there's no moment in
which the spectator will see that I'm pushing
or pulling the cart. That is the earnings change.
7. The Duck Change | Fairly Easy: This color change relies
very much on physics. And the way that you apply
force on these two cards is very important because
they're actually flipping in the air,
just like that. So we're going to get two cards just like this,
have them back-to-back. A technique that you
should know at this point, do it in any way that you fashioned by pushing
two cards and then bringing this
one on top and having a pinky
finger over there. And what we're gonna do
is we're going to contact the bottom-right corner of the card with this
side of our thumb. Just like that. Not many magicians
will do it like this. Many magicians will
do it like this, which is something
that I do not do. Because many times
this meaty part of our my thumb is very steep. And as such, I'm
actually going to stick to that card like
that and I don't like that. So one part of my hand that is never sticky is this
the middle side? So I can take the corner
with the middle side. And then at the same time, I'm pulling my middle finger right here on the front side in such a way that it almost evades almost the court
escapes from these two. Notice that there's barely
any meat on those two cards. Put your finger way too much. You're gonna get this
springing motion. Too much finger is
going to cause you a spring and then that card is
most likely going to flip. But if you put just a little
bit and I'm talking here like a millimeter of your finger on the front
of these two cards, you can actually pull back
your pin, your middle finger. And this will cause both
cards to flip forward because you're also
applying pressure with your thumb forward
towards the cart. So these two cards are locked
here in this pressure. And then I'm actually
going to pull back with my middle finger. And those two cards
will roll tape. Apply pleasure over here and those two chords will
rotate just like that. And notice that I'm
not really sitting completely straight like this. I'm not sitting like
this. I'm actually coming at an angle. So my hands are going
at an angle like that. And this will allow
the card more space to flip in order to arrive completely flush on top
of the deck like this. Make sure that you get
the positioning of the fingers correctly,
the pressure. And then make sure that you tilt your hand in order to
allow the car to flip. And you're going to
get the duck change.
8. The Shapeshifter | Intermediate: The shapes if there is a
beautiful color change, and from my point of view, it's one of the most
visual color changes that you can learn early on. It's honestly, it looks a little bit like video editing
because the spin of the cards happens
so fast that it's just not humanly possible
to follow the spin. Basically, what you're
doing is you are causing these two cars to
spin around just like that. And you need fingers that are big enough that
it's just put it like this in order to grip the card at the two carts because you have two cards over
here back-to-back. I didn't give you this. I honestly skip this part because I thought
it was obvious. But you have these two
cards group between your thumb and your
middle finger. And obviously you
need enough space in order for these
two calls to revolve. If you feel like you
don't have enough space, try and go with your
tips at the corners. But this will cause sometimes
for the courts to flip more than you want
them because you don't have a powerful grip
on the coordinates. Now, if your fingers are not too tiny and you have
something like this, there's so many other color
changes that you can do. So really don't, don't get your mind stuck on the
shape shifter just because it looks cool
and you want to do it if your hands are
not big enough yet, just wait a couple more years. If your hands just
aren't big enough and you're already grown
enough and you know, they're not gonna
get any bigger. There's plenty of other
color changes to those. So just keep this one. Now. Yet they still cards by turning one car and getting
a pinky brick underneath the second chord and
greeting the corners over here on the left inner side and on the right outer setting. Then with your left, left hand, here's what I do. I pushed the deck inside
just a little bit. Actually. No. You don't need to push the day and never push the day. I just felt like that's
something that I might do. So I get the card, I tilt it a little bit towards
the left side and a grip the other two corners
that are free with my left thumb here, with my ring finger. Very important, my ring finger, middle finger, ring finger. Because I want this car
to actually look like it doesn't really move too
much from the deck. You see just like that. Now here's what's
going to happen. I'm going to start applying
pressure over here. And I'm going to release
first from my thought. If I released from the thumb, the current will go
towards the right. Now if I released from the
thumb and the middle finger, the current will rotate. So this is what you're going to be getting at the beginning. You might be getting
something like that. You might be getting something
like something like this. And the courts are going
to fall down on floor. The most important
aspect behind the shape shifter is clipping the
card with your right hand. And this is pressure
that you will have honestly to
just play around with because actually
I put it I've done it for like
12 years now and it's second nature for me, but I remember at the beginning, let me
try with the other hand. I definitely haven't
done the shape shifter as much
in my other hand. So I can say that it is a bit more
difficult with the other hand. But the CFC, this is something that will never happen in the other hand, the thing is that I
am applying pressure, but it's not very powerful. Because if it's too powerful, it doesn't allow
the court to flip. If it's too little. It will allow the course to spin into here just like that. So play around
with the pressure. They are holding the card width. And then you're going to
have to play around with just how much of a spin
you're gonna give it. Because sometimes they
can actually spin it in 360 degrees. This is 360 degrees. I think I can do it even
more. That was 729. That was actually
500, oh my God. 360 plus 180, 540 degrees. 540 degrees right there. So the shape-shifter play with the pressure makes sure that you have your fingers in
the right positions. And you're gonna get it,
you're going to get it. Just put into practice is
not something that will be done with in one day or a
week. Just keep doing it.
9. The Slipper Change | Intermediate: For this change, we're going
to execute a double lift. And we're going to kick
forward these two cards. Then we're going to push down on the front of the card
with our index finger. And this will create
this buckle on the right side of the card
and push at the same time, instantly getting a break
beneath these cards. Now we're going to use
these break in order to push our pinky finger inside, place our thumb on top, and then use our pinky to get that card from
underneath to the right. Once we do that, we
can actually steal that card and cause
it to change. And it will look just like that. Get your pinky,
pinky underneath. Move your left thumb
on top of the card and then using the meaty
part of your finger, press I put it on the request using the meaty part
of your finger. And because of the sweat, when you will stick it to
the card and you move it, that card will move
with the pinky finger. And all I'm doing is just
extending my pinky finger. Now, the grip from the thumb
is actually a light grip. So do not press down a lot. You just I'm just
lightly letting my finger who were there in
order to keep that from card. And meanwhile, I'm extending my pinky finger so
that card comes out. This all happens while my
hand is coming over it. The same time getting
that card out. And I don't need to get it
out more than this because my right pinky
finger is going to contact this corner of the card. And my base of the thumb is going to contact this
coordinate of the card. I'm going to pull the card and then I'm going
to drop it on top. And this way, we have
the color change.
10. The Deal Change | Intermediate: What better way to have a car changed and have a
spectator select the card, and then you take that
card and you Please sit down and has changed
in the process. And you can repeat this as
many times as possible, because what you're actually
doing is you're getting that second card from the
deck by using a second year. So this is something that you'll actually learn in gambling. Gamblers will use this
in order to deal cards. And honestly, I have seen people do this
much better than me. So honestly, maybe I'm not the best
source to learn this from, but I am a good
source if you want to just do a color change because people aren't able
to follow this. If you want to use this in a professional poker
game, there's no way. You should definitely learn
this from a different source. But as a color change, what I'm going to show
you guys is enough to create a beautiful color change. Oh, there we go. We push,
and then we change it. So the way that we do
it is by using one of the things that we learned
early on in magic. And that is pushing two
cards to the right. And the way that we have it set is by having these two
cards pushed to the right, we can use our
right hand to grip that second card and pull
this top card to the left. So just to this very slow, push two cards,
that second card, put it down, push the cards. Notice I can grab the
top card if I want, but if I go a little
bit towards the left, I can actually grab
both cards, actually, so I'm grabbing both cards, but my left thumb is
pulling that top card back. And you keep doing that
on and on, on and on. Now, I can actually
alter between the thumb, middle finger when I gripping or the thumb
and ring finger. Just see which one is much
more comfortable for you. Your original method is with the ring finger
when you grip the card because it
actually gives you much more cover on the cart. And go like that.
And then you stop. Take one card, flip it over, push two cards, grip. You actually covering the card
and then you put it down. Just like that. That guy is
is the second deal change. You have seen me actually
perform it in this fat, not in this fashion, sorry. In this fashion, which
is the classic way of doing doing the
second deal change. And as you've noticed, I'm not I'm not so good at it. So I actually thought about it. And I said, I might as well
just teach you guys this one, which I feel is much more beautiful and
not many people teach it. And I think you will do a much better job at
then with this one. This one feels a little
bit more advanced because you have to push two
cars almost as one. Whereas here you can actually just push two cars normally. And it will still look convincing if you do
it swiftly enough. So there you have guys.
The second deal change.
11. In the center Change | Easy: This color change, we're
going to have a card turn face up in the middle of the
deck and we're ready to go. So from this position you're going to have
somebody selected card and only spread the
top portion of the day. Because if you go deep enough, you're actually going to
reveal the other card. So spreads somebody
selects a card. In this case the five of hearts. Now, the thing that
I did in my way, five of hearts,
five of diamonds, let's get a different card. Is the thing that I did in my performance is
an original control where I go like this. It looks as if the car
goes in the center with the chord is actually
controlled to the bottom. I feel like this is a bit
too advanced for you guys, so we're going to learn
something different. It's called the tilt. The tilt is done by getting a pinky buried
beneath the top card over here and creating a space in which you can actually
place your finger. Let me show you guys a
little bit over here. See, so you have this space and the car goes
into this space, creating the depth of illusion. So it looks as if
the car goes in the center because there's
all of this space above it. If you would see it like this, you would know that it's
actually second from the top. But on a instantly if I
just lifted a little bit, you can imagine that
it goes in the center. So the way that you do this is by just
getting a pinky break, by pushing a cart or
by counting the card, you get a pinky break. And then with your pinky, you're going to
lift that card up. So initially it's
always down over here and the pink is just going to come forward a little bit and push
up on the card. And this will move the
card higher on the thumb, which has actually
used as a blocking, blocking step. Let's
put it that way. And this way we can have a permanent break in-between discard and the
rest of the deck. So now I'm going
to take this card, place it face up, make it look as if it goes
in the center of the deck. Nice waveform. And now when I spread the cards, I can actually reveal that
the current has changed, but our card is actually
still second from the top. And from this position, you can do plenty of stuff. You can put the card over here, turned the triple over, and then place this
coil over there, just snap it and change
it back into the yeas. And then we can
have the A's over here and change it back
into another five. So there's plenty of
stuff that you can do if you just play
around with it, you're going to
learn quite a lot. But I know, I know I
went ahead of myself and I did those things that you probably didn't understand. Let's go over it once more. That card is face
up in the deck. When we take that selection, we create the tilt, we place
this one in the center. Ruffle a little bit, spread and make sure that you keep that card
hidden over there. Reveal that the
corn has actually changed from this position. Actually, I can actually
refer to cards over here. Get a pinky break
beneath those two cards. Flip with this triple that I have over here as
one single card. Snap my fingers and I
want to push this card. I will be revealing that there's a card face up
here, which I don't want. So this is why I did over here. I neck Tight the deck and I placed it back down
and I instantly changed and then a
grip the deck back. And I took this coordinate, placed it on top before
you guys could see it. Now I can flip this one as a single one and
change it again. Call it changes are
beautiful if you stick them together one by one. And I'm sure you
guys are going to start doing that as soon as you learn a couple of more
changes and you practice. So let's move on.
12. The Paintbrush Change | Fairly Easy: The following changes called
the paintbrush change. And it's got this name
because you're actually brushing the card
on top of the deck. Honestly, if you are
doing it like that, like it used to be
done back in the past. I believe that people nowadays
will get what's happening. But if you get it to the point where it looks as if you're not actually touching the
top of the deck at all, then in that, in that case, you're gonna get
something very beautiful and something that will
look purely magical. Now the way that
we do this is by getting obviously a double lift, something that you'll do
with every color change. And we are gripping the
bottom right corner of the court with our
thumb on top and the other two fingers
in this fashion, middle finger right here on the bottom side and the
thumb and index finger. So we're going to be pushing the top card towards
the left side. And we're going to be flipping this on the top of the deck. But it's not only our right
hand that does the flipping. It's actually our left fingers that once that
card is over here, we're actually using
the fingers to close that card on
top of the deck. We push and those fingers just
close the cord instantly. Notice that if I would
do it in slow motion, it will look like that. So we have the cord here. I push just a little bit. And from this position, once I go up, I can actually use from
underneath my fingers, notice just grabbed that
chord and close it. You can do that as well.
Just try it out and I'm sure you guys are gonna
get it pretty fast. Go slow, grip, grip
that cord and go high with the card that is
underneath over here. Here. Push, grip instantly and go up. And there you have
it, guys, That's the Paintbrush changed
numbers to it. If anybody else will tell you that it's a
difficult change, they're lying, they
just don't know how to explain it better. There you have it guys. Now makes sure that you
play with your thumb. You can actually go higher on the card if you feel like you need a little bit more
pushing off the card, and this will actually
make it look. The court could not have escaped your beautiful grip
right here on it. Play with emotion as well. If you guys want, you can
actually go like that. That's totally up to you. It doesn't look as magical
from my point of view. But don't play around with
what you do with it because you can definitely
do plenty of stuff. You can go here like
that and change it. You can come over here with the thumb and just do
something like that. So there's definitely
motions that you can apply, play around with
and see what you discover and what you like.
13. The Turnover Change | Easy: I have taught this color
change so many times and it's such a beautiful color change because you can do
it in so many ways. You don't even have
to do it like this. Just the idea that one chord
is actually being turned. Sorry about that. One card
is actually being turned while the rest goes towards
it is a beautiful change. And I've seen this change done very badly and very
well at the same time. Notice how I can
do it many times, but then I have all of
these cards on top. It's a beautiful change. Let's get into it. So we push a car, you get two cars
back-to-back instantly, just like this, and you're actually going to have a pinky break underneath the court. So you're going to place
your fingers underneath so you can grab the car just like in the paintbrush change. We're not going to do
the Paintbrush changed. But if you ever do the
Paintbrush changed with chords that are
back-to-back like this. It will look as if that card
is actually still the king. And then you snap your fingers
and you have a change. So there we go, a bonus change
inside of another change. Now, this is something
that you will start doing with
all of the changes. You'll start to see if they, if they combine and
what you get out of it. Obviously, if you
have the sort of creative attitude towards
magic or towards life. So we get these cards we
grew up but underneath, and you slide them
down over here. And after you slide
them down over here, you're actually going to close your left hand over the chords, gripped them and come back. So you're basically just
turning the card like a peasant and nobody
sees you doing it because you're doing it with the other hand and
the brain just cannot comprehend these advanced
alien movements. Believe me, I've done
it to so many people, smart and dumb, rich and poor, Gypsies and other
people and all of them love it because it happens
instantly in swiftly. And you're not doing this, which would literally
insult their intelligence. This, oh my God, this actually kills their
intelligence instantly. Now it's very important that
you slide the card down, close it with the deck, and then help the card go on top of the
deck just like that. So I'm not grabbing the card, I'm not going after
it like that. So it's not it's not a lot
of movement on my left side. See. It's actually a very gentle
thing where I hold hold tight this packet and then I use my right fingers to just put that card on
top of the deck. And by just keeping
my left hand still, those cards will go on top
of the deck by themselves. I don't need to do
any extra movements. So when I turn my deck over, then instantly that
coal will have changed. Now obviously you want to
use your index finger over here in order to grab those
scars because it helps. And if it helps, it's nice. If it's dice, you're going
to feel good about it. So you have the cord down, you come here and using
your index finger, just going to group those
two carts gently and nicely. There you have it, guys. A lot of talking a lot of talking for a very
simple change, but I feel like it was very
essential because it's a change that many
people teach very bad.
14. PullPush Change | Easy: I love simple color change, Honest to God, I do. And I think many people
love simple color changes. The most simple it is, the more beautiful it is
because you're actually for, oh my God, look at that. Yes, you're gonna be
using three cards. And the way they do it is
by getting a double lift. Oh my God, I said double lift. Getting a double lift.
Lift. Just like that. You're flipping this card over and you don't
need to flip it yet. You can just push the cards. Then use these two cars
to flip that card. And then these two cards are actually going to go over here. Notice that very advanced wrist moment that I've done over here to put the cart does not something that you want to be doing
at the beginning. As such, you're going to flip this card face up,
which is a double. Turn that card over here and place this
double over there. So now I can just go forward. And when I put my fingers on top of
discard and come back, it's going to drop that
card from underneath and create a beautiful
color change. Now this is a simple change, but I swear people are going to dance to the music of
this color change. Now, it's very important that when you do
this color change, you don't do what I just did. So you do the change. Just like that. Don't
push two cards. So what you wanna do here is get those two cards up and
instantly just turned it. So if you're doing for social media, doesn't
really matter. But if you're doing
it for real life, what I usually do, I take this card and place
it underneath. And then these two cars,
they flip over like that. It's a simple change. You're going to get it
instantly, but it's.
15. Zach Change | Easy: We have over here
beautiful change, a modern change that has been actually
developed in the past, I would say seven
years by Zach Miller. I think it was 2015. So this is a modern change. You're not going to see any
old video of this change, and you probably
not going to find a lot of tutorials
about this change. There's always secrecy around stuff that people
don't perform anymore. They've invented it, dropped it, and then they just move on. So here it is, guys, this beautiful color
change that you will see only by a few people done. And I think it
needs to be done by more people around the world
because it's so beautiful. You have these two chords. It's a double lift, obviously, you grip it over
here at the corner. Thing that we've done with
the paintbrush change, something that we have done
with the turnaround change, and it's something
that you will be doing a lot. So get used to it. We have these two
cards back-to-back. Know, we have them in a
train, choo-choo train mode. It's bottoms to France
right over here, the king in the back just
hugging the a's from the back. And here's what happening
in slow motion. So the thumb is
actually going to drag that card on the
bottom of the deck. Right over here. I've put the thumb on top of the card and I pull it
underneath the deck. But notice in order
for that to happen, I actually need to position
that the card over here. Now this is a weird position. I'm not saying it's not
and it's probably not something that you'll ever
do except for this change. And it's probably not
something that is natural. Why would you ever
hold the car like that except to
perform this change? Just know that people
don't think about it. Nobody thinks about it. So what you wanna do is
you get the carnival huge. Don't need to grip
it like I just did. I was over exaggerating. The card is gripped. Placing the two chords here
on the side of the deck, you turn your restores the
right side of the deck, place your thumb on
top, right over here. And this term is actually
going to peel the card. And at the same time
it's going to kick the car the deck
towards the right side. So you're peeling
the card and you're kicking the deck
towards the right side. And by pulling that card down, you are revealing the
one from underneath the. So when you do that, you can actually covered the
fact that you're stealing that card with an up and
down motion like that. And believe me,
it's going to move banana just like that because
you're doing it fast. It's impossible to
follow by the human eye. So I'll do it in slow motion. So just just get comfortable with blocking
record over here. Pushing down on the top. If you don't feel like
you can just steal the card with the thumb alone. Use the same thing like
we did in the paintbrush. Change. Push this card
towards the left side, instantly pull the
card down and you do the motion just like
in the paintbrush change. You push the card, you do
the motion at the same time. So you're over here,
push the card, get that card
underneath and slap it. There. You have it guys.
There you have it, practice it, master it. It's amazing.
16. The Hover Change | Easy: If you have learned or an
exchange and you like it, then you're probably
going to like this change as well
because it's got a very nice attitude towards
the fact that you're hiding a card and complete plain view
underneath your hand. Now, sometimes you're gonna
be doing something like this and you're going to
feel like you're the best magician on the planet, then nobody can see you. Then you look on camera
and it's just bright, they're stinging in your eye. Now, the way that you
do this is by getting a pinky brick underneath
the top card. And you're going to
cover the top card with the base of your left
thumb and the right hand. Sorry about that right hand. And the way that we do it is by covering the
identity completely. And I have a small
reference, have the index, touch the joint of
my index finger, the bottom joint
right over here. And once I do that,
I know that the rest of the chord is actually
hidden underneath. Now, the secret to
this entire change is that this card
will be gliding. It will be gliding on my nail. Once the card is on the nail, you can just move it
around and it's going to behave as if it's tripping on steroids because
that chord will not stick to your finger because the nail is a very neat surface. It will not stick at all. If we don't use the nail, we're actually going to
get something like this. See how the chord is actually
sticking to my finger. But if we use the nail, we can get something like that. And we can actually
reposition deck. And the current is
still over there just gliding on our nail, waiting for us to
come back with a car. So we have the basics. Pinky break underneath,
get the nail in there in the bottom part of our index finger over
here on the index. Slap it on top, and then apply pressure with the base of our
thumb on the nail. So we're literally lifting that card and hiding
it over there. We have the fingers over here. We just wiggle,
wiggle over the card, pretending to be
master magicians. And then whenever we want, we can just drop this
card back on top and wave goodbye through
the deck. Just like that. Just like you would wave
goodbye to somebody, you wave goodbye to the deck. And it creates this
beautiful atmosphere where the spectators
things your God. And you know, you're not.
17. Cardini Change | Intermediate: Here's a beautiful change that
I am so bored of teaching. I've taught this change
way too much in my life. Honestly, the cardiac change. Such a nice change. You can do it in so many ways. You have no idea.
You can do Guardini. Still the card from underneath, put it back on top. You can do multiple
codon is if you want. It's just one of those
changes that has been around for so long that
people got so bored of it, they started creating
many variations of it. And there's the ego change
that goes like this. So there's many variations of it and we're going to look
at variations in this, in this encyclopedia, in
this video over here. But right now, let's
just look at this. Guardini is beautiful. I'm not saying it's not. It's just once you once you've been teaching it for
hundreds of times, I believe you'll never
loses its charm. So get a double lift,
obviously over here. And then you're going to
use your pinky finger to kick that card off,
just like that. Now, I have taught
this to a couple of people in France and
they couldn't do it. They just, they didn't
have the muscle developed under finger
to pull a card down. So if you encounter
that, just do exercises, just get these cards and try and pull down with the
pinky finger over here. Now, what I do is
I gripped the deck from the right and left side over here with my thumb
and middle finger, so that when I pull
this card on top, it will be the only
car that will be dislodged from the
rest of the ones. Now, I know dislodged is a word that some of
you might not know because who knows
who is listening to this video from other
parts of the world? It calls. It's actually
oh, I got it. I stumbled. So the word means separate.
It will separate. It will be the only card that's separate from the
rest of the deck. Just like that. The keep doing that a few 5,000 times and then
after 5,000 times, leave me a horrible review because you did it 5,000 times. Don't ever do
anything 5,000 times. Just practice it in under fire, practise it by performing
it to friends. Now let's go for
the second thing. You need to cover it with
your hand. You can't top. And magicians do this, this flick, this nice flick. I think it comes
from, I don't know, I don't know where it comes
from, but they do the flake. Boom, the flip happens
while at the same time, the cord is being covered with
your right hand over here. It's not rocket
science covering. But from here you're going
to grip the packet with your right hand and
your left fingers are going to drag that
card underneath the deck. Just like that. It's not hard either. It
just dragging it underneath. Grab the deck. Right now your fingers are on
the face of that card. So from this position, they're actually just
going to move towards the left side and
the current will naturally follow
underneath the deck. Flake, grab underneath the deck, twist, flick, grab underneath
the deck, and then twist. The reason why magicians twist deck at the end is
because they want a motivation for bringing
the fingers in this way. Because if you
would do just this, watch, it will look so weird. Like why did you go towards the left side in order to come back towards
the right side? So many times magicians will cover emotion inside
of another motion. It's, it's, it's used everywhere is basic
basic knowledge. You probably know this already, so I'm just repeating myself.
18. Snap Change | Intermediate: Beautiful snap
changed by Admiral. You get two cards
and then pull them instantly changed,
just like that. Now this is a monumental change. It's been done by David Blaine, has been done by
so many people and there's so many
variations of it. And it's based
around the tank guy, which is one of admirals
favorite moves. So basically you're
going to be moving that card behind the
other one just like that. And it's in a sense in a sort of tank I position the thing I pollen is something
that I talk over in the zero to hero of course
here on Skillshare. So if you don't know,
I think you know it. So let's just move on. You get a double
lift. Just like this. You grip the card at the bottom, index with your two fingers
and the thumb in the back. Now, your middle finger
is going to go backwards? Yeah. Just like that. Just like that, you're
going to pull that card. And then your index finger
and your thumb are going to hold onto this chord while your middle finger
keeps going backwards until it arrives in 1980, because this is going
backwards in time. So I know my jokes
are in the best. I don't even don't
don't worry about it. I'm not working on it. I am okay with my humor. So you are here. You pull the card back, you have the finger on top, pull it back, and then
card will be in the front. That's it. That's the
that's the snap change. It's called the snap
change because model would snap the court at the same time. Don't do that. Don't do that. You can just
do something like this, which is what I do
in order to get rid of the card instantly, is not my creation. I hate it when somebody
says this is what I do, This is what I do know, bro, you learned it from
somebody and you do it as well, but you make it sound as if it's something that
you've created. It's not. This is something that Dan
and David and they had. They have beautiful
applications for the Snapchat shout out to them and they've bought from the United States. So the way that I do
it is I come here, I snapped the card
as I'm coming down. And then that chord is instantly ditched
on top of the deck. And now I can flip
this card over and make it look as if it's always
been just one single card. Come over here,
slap, boom, finger. That's the snap change, guys. I feel like I might have
rushed it a little bit, but honestly, I think you guys got it. I
think you guys got.
19. Zoso Change | Easy: Also change is very similar to the harbor change that
we learned over here. But instead of doing, doing it with your
fingers over here, you're actually going to use your thumb to move
the card in the back. So it makes it look as if there's no way for
you to hide the card, but you're basically
stealing it with your thumb. Position your thumb
on the bottom side, and the rest of your
fingers on the front. And tilt your hands, both your hands towards yourself so that the cord is
actually hidden. From this position. You can come back,
finger over here, pull the cards towards
yourself and you have this also change happen
instantly just like that. You can do a multiple zone also change if you position
your thumb correctly. But is that an advanced move? Yes. Will you guys
learn it completely? So the way that you do it is by, you know, when you put your, this also change,
you're actually just placing the side of your thumb over here on the bottom sites with
just one chord. But if you want to
move multiple cards, you have to flatten your thumb. Move it so it's
half on the card, half just wiggling around so that when it
comes over to three, it can actually contact that three instantly and be
able to pick it up. And you can keep
doing that as long as you keep repositioning with
your pinky finger the card, which is a bit too advanced
to be teaching right now. But you guys have it over here
with just one simple card. I hate it when that
happens, there we go. So one card covered, tilt you tilt your
hand backwards, come down with the cards that
you're hiding it over here. Do this motion which is motivation for the
change happening. Because if you just do this, it would look static,
weird and solids. So you do it with
a little bit of wiggle and then you come back. And if you want to
do the multiple, if you want to make it whoa, I just changed it
back and forth. That is a change I did not
plan to be doing right now, but I suppose it's a
beautiful change nonetheless. There we go. So this
also changed guys. Practice it, do it, It's done by dark, dark, pretty beautiful Change. Hope you guys enjoyed that.
20. Top Palm Change | Advanced: I'm going to teach
you guys the more of the holy grail of
palming, Oh my God. Hyping it up so much,
I didn't even do it. So it's like that to
basically just talk, palming the card as
you're placing the deck down and it happens
instantly in your palm. And one of the very
first changes that I did in my first
year of magic was to reveal the deck like this and wave it and reveal the change. And then I can go
into the slab change. And you do this by
gripping the deck in this fashion is
called the Biddle grip, but your pinky
finger is actually positioned like this on
the corner over here. So it's gonna go down. This is what's happening without
the rest of the fingers, is just going to go down. The way that they explain
this is that imagine that this part of the
deck is actually a slide. And you're bringing the card on the slide as if it's
a five-year-old kid, it's your kid and you're
going into part with them and you're just letting
him slide on the slide. So that was that was a
very weird comparison, but I know that I
hammered it in your head. Just go with the rest
of the fingers on top and use your pinky finger. Notice that I'm pushing down
over here till I get to that slide and I keep pushing until the
card goes in my palm. Now, I don't think
anybody else on the Internet will find a
better way to explain this. But what I really
do need to tell you guys is that this
is a hard part. I mean, you need to be able
to hold the full deck with your fingers so that
the big doesn't move while you
press on the side. Because one of my students, he was 16 and he was
trying to do this and the deck kept moving
towards the right side. And that's because his hands just couldn't hold
onto the deck. I mean, you need power
in order to hold that deck in position and then pull the cord
towards the right side. Now, don't get me wrong. Once you keep doing this, you'll actually discovered that you don't need that
much strength. It's all about technique
with the pinky finger. But in the beginning, it's, it's actually the other way around because you want to get accustomed to being able to poem that card in your right hand. Position like this, index, the other three fingers, thumb on the inner rights sites that you reveal as
much as possible. Pinky finger over here, flatten and now watch. I start pushing on it. Meanwhile, I'm gripping the
deck so it doesn't move. I'm over here and I go down. And instantly upon some of the times you're going
to get that, don't worry. What you need to adjust is the
way they pull on the card. So if I go too much
towards the right side, the card will go underneath. If I go too much
towards this side, the court will spin. If I go at an angle, what I need to do is pop
that card in my palm. And the way that I do this, if I explain, I need to
explain a bit better. If you apply pressure
over here on this side, the court will go like that. If you apply on the
corner and you go to much towards that side, the court will actually rotate on the corner
just like that. Now you need to apply pressure
on it and go forward. As much as you can
see that the cord goes perpendicular
almost in your palm. Press down and the current will go just like
that in your palm. And then you have
the color change. It's probably going to be one
of the most difficult ones that you're gonna be
facing early on in magic. But it's nice because
there's actually a practical ability
that you can put into application for
other tricks except for just color changes because
you're palming the cord, you can do so many other things.
21. UpDown Change | Easy: So here's a beautiful
color change they can do right away. Just like that. Now, the idea behind it is that you need
to be able to do this, this double lift, which is used for the gold
change by Dan and Dave. Obviously I don't,
I don't have it completely done the goal change, but we'll learn that
a little bit later. Meanwhile, I'm going to start practicing the
gold chain so that it can actually teach it to
you guys in a more fluid way. But until then you get a pinky break underneath
the second card, you grip corners just over here. You're going to use your
thumb to just riffle down, but you're refilling
down with the card. The way that you do
that notice is just by putting the card underneath the thumb and then randomly inserting it at any position
in the deck just like that. So Grip, go down, but take the corner with you. And instead of going up, we're going to just place the card over here on the thumb. Just like once you're in this position, you're
going to leave it there. Don't move because if you move the cars are going to separate. So don't move,
don't move at all. Just imagine the polices
right there next to you, what a gun. No more. Keep the cards over there. And you're going to grip
the inner right corner of the card and just the
front of the two carts. And notice that if you pull
towards the right side, the car from underneath
will stay stuck to your thumb while the other
one will go in the deck. And you have the
color change over their grip and then pull
towards the right side. And you do this while
you come up and down. Okay. You're over here, you come
up and when you come up, you pull the card and
then you come down, you reveal the change. That is the color change. Guys. There we go. We
have it over here. Grip the card, pull towards the right and
you do it in the motion. Bring the card out. And now obviously you have
a card face up in the deck. If you want, you can instantly go into the change that we just learned where you reveal that the court has
actually changed. If not, from this position, you can go into the other
change that we just learned. And from here you can go into the other change that
we just learned. Yeah, I'm going to I'm going to keep showing you guys there's different ways in which
you can actually stick these changes one
after the other. And you're going
to have a lot of fun with them once
you master them.
22. Open Book Change | Easy: Two-way says change into
two random cards or two random cards change
into the two aces, which is a beautiful
color change that you can do with four cores, but you need to arrange
them in a certain way. So let's say we want to change
the cards into the twist is we have the aces Just
like that frontal front. And then we have
these other two cards over here just on top. Now what I'm gonna
do is I'm going to turn the first one and
then the second one. But now I'm going to have
to count four cards. So the way they do
this is up to you, but you need to
get four cards in your hand because it's
all four of those cards. One way they can do
it very simply is to have a pinky break beneath
the aces from the beginning. So you start off by this, you turn those two cards over and then you peel
off the front card. And now you have this triple over here in your right hand. And all you need to do is close the tool and push the car, just like we learned into the paintbrush change
and close and open. And this is actually
going to create a beautiful color
change right over here. We close, we push and notice what's happening because I'm pushing these two cards. When I close and open again, those two cars will
be left on top of the deck and it will create
this beautiful double change. And once you do it swiftly, it will look like this. And it's a marvelous change. You have that code over here, so you can instantly tell you expect it to you
if you don't like the aces doesn't matter. We can go back to the
other random course, don't worry about it. Now, obviously we still
have that card over there, but you can get rid
of it in many ways. It's just something you
can deal with later. But now you have this
beautiful double change, which you can do.
23. Spread Flip Change | Fairly Easy: Here's a beautiful color
change developed by Lee Asher. So the way that we do this is let me get the deck, the SAP. We show a card, e.g. the four hearts,
and then this one changes into the
two of diamonds. And the way that we do
this, sorry about that, is by actually getting our
fingers underneath the deck. So notice I am coming
with the spread, some spreading the cards. I'm stopping somewhere. I'm coming over here on the
bottom part of the cards. And then with my right fingers, I'm going underneath
the deck and I'm coming in contact
with this cart. By coming in contact
with that card, I can actually hold the
entire packet and then just let it go and
keep on to that card. It's as simple as that. You're keeping on to
that chord while you're letting the rest of
the packet just flip. And it's a beautiful moment
when you pull it off because it literally
feels so natural. It's being used as a
force most of the time. But if you use it as a
color change like this, if you do it fast, it will look amazing. So you have the four and you need to do it fast like that. And you will be
something like this will happen in the beginning where the cars just don't flip. But the secret behind
it is that you need to just hold onto
the side of the packet. See, I'm holding onto the side. And by holding onto the side, I can come down fast and the entire packet will
flip over is just physics. It will happen by itself
if you flip over. So you go down and up
fast, just like that. But obviously, I can do this in the deck
doesn't fall down. What I need to do is allow
the courts to fall down. So I allow the packet
to fall down by just slowly creating this gap. You see by creating this
gap and doing it fast. The cord from underneath, we'll stick to my fingers. The rest of the
packet will flip. And you will have
this beautiful, beautiful spread change.
24. The Fan Change | Fairly Easy: Here is a color change that is, has been around for so long. The idea of fanning the deck and changing the identity of a playing card
underneath the fan. It's a very beautiful color
change. I'll give it that. And you need to do a couple of things in order
to be able to perform it. First, a one-handed fancy, you'll have to learn that
guys in another source. I teach it here in the
zero to hero course. And there's other sources on the internet that
you can look at. Then we have to be able to get a break
beneath the top card. So we do the fan and
here's what happens. We have this break over
here and we're going to stick our right fingers inside that break and collect the playing card by clipping it in-between our ring finger, our middle finger,
and our index finger. So without the fan, imagine I'm doing the fan, I'm actually doing this. I have over here the fan, I clip the playing card
in-between those two fingers, and then I put it
underneath the deck. So that's what's
actually happening. So in order to ditch
the chord afterwards, you're going to have to
open your left fingers, put the card underneath. So when we have the
fan, we go over here. I've collected a playing
card by rubbing. That was a bad, very bad one. Let's go again. I've
collected the playing card. I go twice with a
fan over the deck. And on the second turn, I'm just going to place
these chords underneath the deck and close the fan. Now, if you don't wanna do that because you're in a situation where maybe you have two playing cards for,
this was three. Maybe you have two playing
cards on top of the deck. Then you might want to
kind of get that break. Maybe you want to
change the identity and not have to ditch this
playing card. Not a problem. You can just close the fan
on top of the card in place, everything on the
bottom of the deck. This way you're
completely clean, like there's no face-up card, and you just have one playing
card on top of the deck. So once more, we
execute a double. So we go double. Yeah, I cut the deck swing, cut the deck fan here. While I get a pinky break
underneath the top card, I found once and twice, I start closing this one. The court is actually the SAP. I just realized this
code is actually faced up when you
do it like this. In this situation, I would
actually put the deck. I would close it and I will put it underneath and I won't
have the course face up. Kind of a kind of a
tricky situation, I would say if you don't
want any sort of headache, just just perform
everything face-up and then you can just
end it right there. That's the fan change
it comes from, it comes from this thing in court manipulation where
you vanish the deck. It's basically the same idea. Instead of stealing one
playing card over here, you actually still the
entire deck and you turn your hand in order to vanish
the deck, just like that. There you have it
guys, the fan change.
25. Flick Change | Easy: This is a simple and
visual color change that you can do right away. Get half of the deck and spread it on the
table just like this. Or you can do it very nicely
and keep it neat like this at this position. So it's gotta be
facing your way. Then we're gonna get a card and another court back-to-back, just like that. There we go. We're going to place
these two using our thumbs in the
center of the deck. Make sure that you apply
pressure with your thumb and your index fingers so that those two cords stay stuck. Now, we're going to create
a little bit of distance between this packet from
the table or the spread, of course from the table, which needs to be a
little bit chaotic. And this card, and then
we're going to hit it on this side of the courts. Just give it a flick. And in that moment that
the courts are going to flip and you're going to have
a beautiful color change. It's easy as direct,
it's simple. What more do you need?
26. Angel Change | Intermediate: For this change, we're
going to use a flourish, and this is called
the angel display. It's when you stick a card
on your thumb, basically. And it's done by just applying
pressure on the court, but there's a small secret
for it and let's get into it. The first thing that we do is we apply pressure with the
nail from underneath the card so that the
courts sticks only to the meaty part of our thumb. Because if we would
apply pressure with both the both parts with
both tips of our fingers, it might stick to the thumb or it might stick to
the index finger. We don't know. We
don't want that. We want just the thumb. So that's the secret behind it. Apply pressure with your nails. Just the nail is applying
pressure there and this way, the card will stick
to the thumb. But when you're doing
it on top of the deck, you actually just need a pinky break underneath
the top card. Apply pressure on
the top of the deck. And then when you lifted the card will stick
to your finger. And we're going to use this
knowledge for a color change. So execute a double lift, get a pinky break
underneath the top card. You're instantly going to
apply pressure on this deck, show it to respect it, put it down, and then
you're going to come up. And that card is going to stick
to your finger over here. And then you're
going to come down. Now, there is a
work-around this, you're going to bend this card a bit more than the other one. So you lifted you bend
it and you put it down, and then you basically
have the cord prepared. So now when you
execute a double lift, there will be some air between this chord and
the one from underneath. So you can just show it to the spectator and then
come up and down. Notice what I'm
doing. I'm actually showing the deck
applying pressure, putting the deck down. First. I'm actually coming with my fingers next to the card. I am still keeping my thumb right there
on top of the deck. And then once I know
that the cord is actually completely
covered by my hand, I lift up the card. Now, as you can see, it keeps separating
because I keep explaining. But this is supposed to
happen in a swift motion, up and then down, instantly. Show, come up and
then come down. And this will look like this. You come up and then
you come down and you do this beautiful
motion with the fingers. And many times
you'll see magician add magical motions to their, to their color
changes because it makes them well, more magical. Just like that. Show put
down fingers next to it, block and then come
back down, show up. The court hasn't stuck at all. Come up a bit. I've done it way too many
times, one after the other. Now my finger isn't SDK. Show. You come up and
you come down and the card has changed
and then you flip it and that's it, guys.
27. Marlo Spread Change | Easy: The secret behind the Marlow
spread change is to have a card face up in the center
of the deck, just like this. And then take a card from
the top of the deck, place it halfway inside. Then place the deck
down and make sure that the card is placed on
the right side because you're going to spread the deck and all of
the cars are going to cover that card and reveal the
one that is in the center. Not only that, but look at that. You actually have no other card because that one is hidden
underneath the spread. If we were to take
the courts and spread them now the
court will be revealed, which puts us in
a great position to perform the change once more, we put the card over
there, place it down. And now you can
spread the cards with just your hand like this. But make sure that
when you spread them, the courts will cover the queen. Because many times I'm just going to take
a random card here. You can go like that. The court will stick out
here in the front, which is very, very bad. My fixed for this is to actually
when you take the card, instead of placing your hand
completely on the deck, place your thumb and middle
finger on the top and bottom of the deck and
spread the deck like that. So this way the courts are
actually going to go into a straight line and
reveal your change.
28. Zach Change Biz Variation | Intermediate: This is a variation
of the sac change. And instead of using two
chords and dragging the cart, we're actually going to
use one single card. And we're going to
position it here. And then have our fingers contact the face of the
back of the playing card. The first playing card were contacted with our
middle finger. And then we're going to drag this up while this
one goes down. So we have this action
happening just like this. One chord is going down
and the other one is coming up with our
middle finger. And that allows us to keep doing the color
change on and on. So all you are doing over here is plucking the card
out just like that. You're lifting it
up with your middle finger and then
you're grabbing it with your thumb finger
and straightening it out. And when you put
those two things head-to-head, come over here, grab it with your thumb, pull this one down, and at the same time you've
come with this one up. Notice that I'm actually
holding the playing card with my thumb so that I can
actually grab the next one. Not only that, but
I'm not placing the card alongside
the entire deck. I am actually placing it
further so that my thumb can come over here and
grab the playing card. Then I move a little bit forward in order to
provide the thumb some cover while it puts this card behind the
deck just like that. And then we have a
beautiful color change. It. Just make sure that you
position yourself in such a way that the spectator does not see
you grabbing the card.
29. Spring Flip Change | Advanced: This one is very similar
to the other one, which we learned when
we place the courts back-to-back and we
hit them like this. But this action is
actually happening while we do a thumb spring. So we have the two
cards back-to-back. We grab them, we lifted
their cup in this position, and then we insert
them halfway through. At this point, you're going
to have to do a thumb spring. If you do not know how
to do a thumb spring, you can look at the Zero to Hero course that
I have here or on any other course that
you want on YouTube. The thumb spring is one
of the most famous ones, is actually more famous than
this one from the front. Because cord this have
actually popularized it. And magicians have taken
it because it looks much more beautiful
and the courts can be controlled much smoother. Now, take a look at this C
and take a look at that. They go much faster from the front than they
do from the thumb. Because we have one finger
over here that we can play with instead of four
fingers in the front. I think that's just my not. So they haven't guys
just positioned those two chords like that. Placed them on the left
side door thumb spring, and you will have that
beautiful change.
30. The Dracula Muck | Advanced: So this is actually an
evolution of the techie change. We're going to hold the court in the same position
as we did before. And then we're going to
have a cart bend similar. But instead of
coming over here and dropping the card and
continuing over motion, we're actually going
to poem the top card. So watch. I go underneath. And once I'm in that position, I can actually grab
that card completely. This happens fast because
I go underneath very fast. And that card will
completely be in the poll. So watch, I go underneath
and I instantly flex my fingers so that I
can pull that playing hard. And once I'm in this position, I will turn my hand and
I will drop that card. I have a card that is bombed. And then I've actually switched that out for
the one in my palm. Over here, you will notice that the cord goes
completely in the hand. I go with this corner in the middle of
the playing card is very important because if I
go to low, see what happens. If I go too high, then I can actually
manipulate the playing card. So just as a point of reference, this coordinate
goes in the center. So you go with the
coronary in the center. You pull on the playing
card, you stop. You turn, you drop this playing
card on the table and you push this forward and then
reveal the color change. This card will go
on top of the deck, you just drop it in the deck
or you digit in your lap. But if you're performing for social media, it doesn't matter.
31. The Tekky Change | Intermediate: For this color change,
we're going to be hiding one chord underneath our
poll, just like this. And the other chord is
going to be on the table. As a quick explanation,
here's what's happening. I'm actually
inserting this chord underneath that one,
just like that. So right now the court is
being scooped up completely. It's a bit more
difficult to show because I don't have a
camera underneath the table. But if I would move the cart forward in my poem
just like this, this is what would be happening. We go underneath the cord and then I am retaining
that top card, while at the same time
I'm dropping that court. So this is what's happening. This is why I moved the card deep into my poem so that
I can spread my fingers. So the court is being
clipped between my thumb and the rest
of my poem as such. And the hand is relaxed on
the table just like this. You have to be careful so that the court doesn't
expose here in-between the pinky and ring
fingers something that happens quite often in order to help you do bend
the playing card on the sides so that it can insert the card underneath
much more easily. Now, watch what I do. Don't keep I can keep my
hand completely straight, but at the beginning I remember
that I tilted it a bit forward so that I make sure that it goes underneath
the playing card. Now as soon as I feel
that it's underneath, I will relax my thumb and I will continue the motion with
my hands just like that. But this time I won't be
spreading my fingers because I know that chord is a
little bit forward, so it will most likely
show once more. We clip, we go underneath
and we come over here. Just like that. That's the techie change.
32. The Throw Change | Fairly Easy: Here's a color change that I discovered in my
first year of magic, and it's very simple. And I love the
visual aspect of it. You execute a double
lift and you situate this just like this on
the side of the deck. This is because
you're going to be pulling the top card of the deck to the left so that you can
throw this card forward, executing a beautiful
and visual color change. Sometimes you're going
to have that happen. But the throw happens
with the fingers. So if you're not familiar with
throwing a card like this, then you should start
training that part first, two fingers at the
corner from above. And then then you go with
the fingers front and back. You will release it when
you are going forward. The thing is, this is probably something that everybody knows because you use it at
poker when you deal cards. So you drag the top
card is throw this one, but this one will be visible if you don't necktie the deck. So as soon as you
throw the card, then neckties the
deck. Instantly. Throw the card and neck tie, take the card, put it on top, and put the double lift back, and you have the throat change.
33. The Waterfall Change | Intermediate: Here's a beautiful waterfall
color change that is very similar and there's very simple and similar
to the slab change, similar in the idea that
we have a card pond and we're just going to
drop it on top of the deck. The way that you pull on
the cord is up to you. You can use the Vernon
pump just like this, or you can come and
ponder it beforehand. And then doing. The idea is that you have
a card pond in the deck. You have, you have a card
palms in your hand over here. And then you're going to execute a waterfall and weight
accord slip for a second. You execute the waterfall. And then at the last moment
when you drop the cards, you're going to relax your hand. So that code from the
hand drops as well. Obviously, in order to
be able to do this, you're going to have to
learn how to do a waterfall. Now, there are various sources in which you can actually
learn how to do a waterfall. So you can search that one out. But as a quick idea, you're going to bend the
cards in such a way that you insert in-between all of
these cards, just like this. Notice how I'm slowly weaving. All of the cards are not
bending the entire deck. I'm slowly caressing
it so that each card goes on my skin at
a different part. I am slowly releasing them. And you combine that
together with the card farm. See over here I relaxed and the court will fall
on top of the deck. And it's a beautiful simple
color change that you can execute if you know
how to do a waterfall.
34. Swipe Color Change | Easy: Here's a beautiful and
very simple color change that you can do right away. All you need to be able to do is get a pinky break
at the bottom card, on the bottom of the deck. Just like that. You pull down on that card
and you do this by beveling the course towards the
left so that all of these courts can actually be
accessed with your finger. If you're a beginner,
this is not easy. So what you can do instead
is actually riffle one card with your thumb and instantly position your
finger right on it. You riffle one card and then you position
your finger on it. And this can be done in
an instant on the back. So you can do it with the pinky, you can do it with the thumb, or you can do both at the same time you grabbed
the deck and you're just going to pull that card
down, which is very easy. And you positioning, once
you're in this position, you're going to swing
cut the top deck, which is the swing cup, can be a difficult
curve at the beginning. But all you're doing is you're lifting the packet with
your index finger. You're moving the index
finger to the left and you're grabbing that
packet with your left hand. Once you're in this position, you're gonna go once
above that card. And then at the
second time when you wipe that card with
the other packet, you're going to drop
that card on top by just relaxing your grip on the
cord and letting it fall. Once more. We're over here. We go once and then
at the same time, we're going to drop
that card over there. Now, once you drop the card, you actually want to
make sure that you flex your left fingers so that you can square the
card up instantly. If you want to do a
multiple color change, all you're doing is
actually springing cards. You're dribbling chords
from the right packet. So I'm just doing
this like that. I'm just dropping chords. While at the same time I'm
going over the packet. I know that this packet here on my right side is actually
getting smaller and smaller. But as long as I do
it a couple of times, it doesn't matter though, if you do it more
than three times. Spectators. Well, queen of diamonds, two queen of diamonds. Yeah, it's a duplicate
in the deck. Spectators will actually start realizing just
what you're doing. Once it's perfect, you
can use it as a vanished, can use it as a color change, you can use it as a production. There you go, guys.
35. The Ballerina Change | Intermediate: This is called the
ballerina change, and it uses a double lift, which is placed at the
corner of the deck. And you place your thumb on both cards here at the
inner side of the courts. But that's because
you're going to contact the back of the card. This is one chord
and that's one cart. So when you actually
move your fingers, they're going to separate, which is at the core
of the color change. So contact the back of the
cards with your middle finger. You're going to need slightly
larger fingers for this. You're going to pull the
top card with your thumb towards yourself and
then you can come back. It's a small movement which is actually covered by the hand, as you can see, for a second, it will look as if
that card has changed. So we have over here we cover the cord has
changed, as you can see. Then when we come back, we're going to use our
right fingers to square that card up and come back
in the initial position. Place over here. When we cover, we move the cart,
so we cover and we move the cart
at the same time. Notice that I'm actually covering both chords
and then I'm coming down in emotion so that I can
cover the entire movement. And over here, I'm
going to start positioning my fingers on
the card that I wanted. I move my thumb with
the card that will stop exactly in place,
just like that. And I come down. Let me show you guys. Over here. We do the change. I position my fingers. I started going at an angle. And the way that I
do it at an angle is by applying a lot
of pressure with my thumb down and using
it as a pivot point. Just like that. Over here, contact on both
sides, color change happens. I place my fingers, I start using my thumb
as a pivot point. And then I come here at
the base of my thumb while clipping the coordinate with my right fingers that
I can turn the card. And that's the ballerina change.
36. Dance Change | Intermediate: For this color
change, at the start, we're going to bend the corner of these two chords a
little bit with our thumb. This is going to help
us in the beginning. So we can do the
color change much smoother until we can
actually do it for real. You turn one card face up. And notice that because
that chord is bend, we can actually lifted those two chords as
one single chord. And that's the whole
secret behind this. So we turn one card and
then we're going to lift both of those up with
our right finger. We're going to tilt
both our hands towards each other so that the right finger
can go inside of the gap and push
this cart forward. Then we're gonna place
it back on top of the deck and execute
a double lift. So once more, we turn it, then we can lift both of those. And all of this happens in this dance where I
showed the card. And then I turned back. So it doesn't look
weird that both of the hands are turning towards each other
because in a sense, it looks as if I am
pointing towards the card. So do get the motion first. You are over here, you
come towards yourself. This can happen sometimes when you're taking
multiple cards, or you can do is bend
the deck the other way around so you don t have
that happen to you. Turn the card, come back here. So this is the motion. I'm turning my left hand
inwards and outwards. And the other hand goes inwards and outwards at the same time. So I think, oh, I forgot
to flip those two over. So we have back-to-back,
come over here. I take the chord C, I turn, I pushed the cart forward so
the change can happen. I point that the
court and then I turn it around like that. And just by turning my wrist and then I placed
it back on top. It's a nice flowy color
change that you can do it simple once you want to actually do it for real
and not bend the cards, basically what you need to do is you turn those two chords and then you're
going to refill with your thumb another card so that, Okay, let's get a two
cars are contrasting. So we're going to refill
with our thumb 12 cards. And once we have these
two chords were in perfect position to execute the color change just like that. Third one card, you
point at the court, and meanwhile you refold those two chords and
you execute the change.
37. Table Spring Change | Advanced: For the sprinkler change, we're going to execute a double. And then we're going
to place it on the table by bending it
inwards just like this. When you place a
double on the table, use your index finger nail to
push down on the middle of the card so you can let go of your fingers and then
lift with your nail. Do not press with the Pope of your finger because it
might stick to the card. And that might actually
just botch the cards and reveal that there are actually two
cards on the table. So use your nail. Now, we're going to have to be able
to do a thumb spring. You can learn this from various
sources on the Internet, so don't get discouraged. If you really like
the scholar change, as long as you get
a thumb spring, you are able to do it. Basically, what's going
to happen is we're going to spring the top
card towards the left. And because it has been
moved towards the left, and because it's bent like this, we're gonna be able
to scoop it up, just scoop it up in the
middle of the deck. It's very similar to the
spread Marlow change, where the cord is actually
hidden like this. But instead of hiding it
underneath the spread, we're going to scoop it up with the spread and then we're going to hide it at the same time. So let me show you
guys once over here. Notice that when I
spring that code was instantly moving and the one from underneath
didn't move at all. So the idea is to come with your left hand
close to the card over here, starts bringing on top. Notice that the
court has actually moved from this position. My left fingers are
actually going to dig underneath the card
while I keep springing. And then I'm going to square everything with my other hand. The secret behind this is being placed in such a way that
you can scoop that card up. Let me show you were
scooping right over here. I'm trying to do it slow motion, but I really got to
catch that card. There you go. Notice that the court has actually been scooped
up over here. I can just press it
with my right hand. And the card has changed. We go once more. We go, I spring,
I start scooping. If you scoop up both chords, is going to be a vanish, which might not be
exactly what you want, but it's still a magical effect. Over here. We're going to spring on both and then we're
going to scoop up. So I'm really going to
give up trying to do this in slow motion
because it really, I really can't do it like that. So we go over here, spring and then we scoop
up just like that. Let's do it a couple
of times together. You need a pad for this. So it's very important
that you have a pad because when you're
springing the cards, you're actually going
to dig a little bit deep into the deck so you
can scoop the card up. And you can only do
that if you have a path just like that
and then you scoop up, try and do this very focused. So when you're doing the spring, watch the cord as it's moving
so you can take it up, you can take it up in the deck. Because if you're
doing it mindlessly, it's not going to happen. So try and watch
always the king. I mean, whatever card you
have, how is it moving? Can I scoop it up? And then
if you see it moving off, then try instantly to scoop it up and you don't even have
to finish the spring. Notice that when
I'm actually doing the spring, it's very small. It's a very small spring. That was that was a mistake. I pressed on the
court with my pinky. It's a very small spring
because that's all I need in order to
take the card up. There. You have it, guys. That's the spring change.
38. Rub a Dub Dub Change | Intermediate: For this color change, we're
going to use a technique that's called the
rubber Dub, Dub vanish. And it was created
by the late Darrow. And meanwhile, the move has actually been evolved
into this version, which can now be found
on Vanishing Inc, which I think you guys
are really going to like. I actually learned this back in 2014 from a friend of mine novel way before
it was published. So he had discovered it, and meanwhile somebody
else had published it. You get situations
like this and magic. We're two people think
of the same idea. And I thought, what if you could do a color change, right? You have the card over here, you cover it, you can
still see the corner, but then you show that
the court has actually changed and you're going
to do exactly the vanish, but you're going to retain the top card and you're going to leave the
one from underneath. So execute a double lift. Move the card at an angle over here and place your finger, your thumb, on the index. Now notice that while
my thumb is over there, I can actually move the card completely flushed with
the rest of the packet. And this is possible
because from underneath, my middle finger is
contacting the back of the bottom card and
my index finger is contacting the top side of the two cards acting
as a pivot point. Because when I pull the cord, I'm actually pushing
up slightly so that the court can revolve
on top of the deck. So I'm in this position. And then I'm going to neck
tie my wrist a little bit because I don't
want you to see that I am stealing that card
on top of the deck. And this is why the
rest will go in. But it has to happen
quite shortly. So the first thing that I
do is I place the corner, the inner right corner of
the cards on the table because I want that card from underneath to
stay on the table. And then with my pinky, I'm gonna come over
here and start applying pressure on
that card so that it stays on the table
because I want people to focus on that
corner over there. And notice that I
place my hand in such a way that first of all, I am covering the
car just like in the ballerina change over here. By the time that you
reveal the card, the card has actually changed. So over here, when I
come over to the card, this is actually already
the court from underneath. So I'm over here. I'm over here. I
come over the cord. And at this point I go
forward and then back a bit so that people will
think it's the same cart. Now from this position, I can actually pull
on the cord just slightly so that I can make sure that the card will stay on the table and we'll
go down on the table. So I come over here,
I pull the cord. People can see the corner. I am neck tying the left hand. If you want, can
even drop it and attract attention over here
on the card has changed. From here, I will
place the card on top of the deck without
anybody seeing. Then I will turn
the double as-is. And there you have it guys. That's the rubber Dub
Dub color change.
39. The Flickshift Change | Advanced: Here's a color
change that's very similar to the shape shifter. You're going to do is basically pivot the cord
outside of the tech, hit the corner and make the cord revolve just like
this, 180 degrees. Now, you're going
to have to do this a couple of times that you get used to the pressure
that you have to put so that the cord springs around. But it's definitely much
easier than the shape shifter. And this one can be done
by absolutely anybody. It doesn't matter if you have smaller or bigger
hands because you are taking the court outside between your index
finger and your thumb, then all you have to do
I do apologize for that. All you have to do is flick it with your thumb
and middle finger. A thing that we should at this point be very
familiar with, since there are many
color changes that focus on flicks like that. Now, probably I went a little bit through fat
too fast through this. So let's go step-by-step. You take a pinky break. We need the second card as you
turn the top card over and then you can take the corner at the pinky with
your index finger. And you contact the corner at the outer right corner
with the thumb. And you're going to revolve
this around the thumb. So you go forward until
the cord is like this. And you move it outside
of the deck because you want to be able to revolve
the cord when you hit it. And if it's over here, it's going to hit the deck and it's not something that
you want to happen. So here, over here, you
move forward a little bit just by extending
your thumb. And you're going to
come over here at the corner and just flick it. Now, if you position
this chord correctly, you can hit it as hard as you, okay, not that hard, but you can hear it. Hit it harder and not be afraid that the court
will spin too much. Because when it does spin, I'm trying to hit it
hard but not that hard. When it does spin, the
corner is going to contact the top side of
the deck and it's going to stop the two
cards completely. And then you can just place
those two cars on top. You're over here.
Notice that I'm still pretty close
to the deck because I want those two cores
to hit the corner over here and then
place the courts back, hit and then come back and
just play around with this. Try and see just how
hard you need to hit. Sometimes they hit
a bit too hard. But if you hit too little, I mean the, the
flick is very soft. You're gonna get
something like that, which is not definitely not one-to-one or the court
is going to revolve so slow that the eye of the spectator is going
to be able to follow it. What you need is to find a nice middle ground
between those two, where you have a
beautiful color change. Just like that. I hope you guys
have fun with that.
40. The Pull Snap Change | Intermediate: In order to do
this color change, execute a double lift, and then hold it
here at the thumb. In this position. Please. All three fingers from your left hand on the
face of the card. And make sure that the cards are actually let me
let me show you. So the court isn't actually
sitting on top of the deck. It's actually sitting right
next to it over here. So if it would be
on top of the deck, we couldn't we couldn't
do the change. But if it's sitting over here, which is something
that you do by lowering your fingers,
just like this. Then we're able
to do the change. We start buckling the
card just like this. And we come with
our right hand and we grab the two carts. But here's what's
going to happen. I'm going to press
this chord down, while at the same
time I'm going to pull the cord underneath the packet and move
forward with this card. So let me show you guys. We are over here. The two chords are
next to the deck. I am buckling the cards. I'm grabbing the car
from underneath. I'm pulling that
chord underneath. And then I'm moving forward
towards the spectator so that they don't see that
chord going under the deck. And when you weight, it
failed when I told you, when you do it fast, even if you get
something like this, you still have the
card blocking it. So you can get away with
just squaring it up. Double lift, hold. Make sure that it's next to it. Buckle. Go forward, release. Let's go again. Double lift, hold, buckle, graph
from underneath. Go forward, pull the card with the three fingers
under the deck. And then you can put the card here and show that
it has changed. It's a beautiful change. It's snappy, works great for
social media and real life, if you like the
snap, change them. This is a nice variation that
you can actually perform.
41. The GOAT Change | Advanced: Here is a hyper visual
color change that happens under the
snap of your fingers. Just like that. Basically you're going
to snap the first card inside of the deck
and then slow motion. What's basically happening
is you're moving the bottom chord
and you're snapping the front card
underneath the packet. But at the base of this is
actually the double lift, which is the most important one. Because when you are actually
moving the cards over here, you are putting them
in such a way that when you relax your thumb, that bottom chord is
going to move and the front curve is going
to stay in position. And if you have a very
new deck, Let's see e.g. this one, then it's going
to work like a charm. You get a card, you
flip it over there. And notice that all
I have to do is just slightly relax my hand. And the court from
underneath is going to move, which is very nice for a
new day, just like that. So what we need to learn
first is the double lift. Let me put this
course over here for a second. Pink cards. So we're gonna get
a double lift, a double, a break
underneath the two cards. We're going to
grip the courts at the corners with our
thumb and middle finger. And then we're going to find a place in the deck
with our thumb. But this is going to happen at the same time with the double. So I'm basically clipping
the card with my thumb, moving it down and then finding a spot
where to insert it. So my thumb is here
on top of the courts. I grip the courts. I start moving my thumb
together with the cord. Notice that it doesn't
stay on top of it. It stays underneath
it all the way. I go into the center and then I buckled the cards because I want them to turn into an arrow. And if there are
buckled like this, the outer left corner is going
to become like an arrow. And when I push down on the
bottom part of the deck, I can actually use this to
insert the two cards inside. Now we're going to
insert the first corner. And then we're going to
rotate clockwise with our middle finger in order to insert the other to
the other coordinate. So we go over here and then with our middle finger,
we return here. And then we place the card. Now your left thumb
has to stay in the same position
because if you relax it, and this is where we bring the other cards so
I can show you. If you relax it, then the two chords
are going to split. We're in this position. And if you relax the courts
are going to grip, pull down, insert inside, turn clockwise, place the card at that position. So notice that the
core displaced completely in the direction
of the coordinate. So it's not placed like this. It's not placed like this. It's placed at an angle so that the corner and the
cards are aligned. I have moved my left pinky over here because when we snapped
the court let me show you. If we snap the card and
the pinky is and there, the court is going to
jump out of the deck. You're over here
and you snapping. And it didn't jump now, but many times it will jump out of the deck
just like that. So what we need to do
is get the pinky in position while we are
doing the double lift, we're putting the court
there were moving into pinky in here. You're going to relax your hand and you're going to
position in such a way your fingers that
your middle finger is going to contact the
coordinate of that card. Now, this needs to happen
fast because if not, obviously people are
going to notice that the two carts have split over there and then we do
it to other cards. Replace it. Notice that when I
place the double, I'm actually moving grip to my index and thumb so
that I can continue inserting the cord inside
of the deck because I don't want the court to be
out jogged way too much. I don't want it like
this. Well, if you want a very visual color change,
you can do it like that. But usually you want
the cord inside of the deck door over
here and then you snap your fingers while
at the same time, you relax the thumb, you place the middle finger
already in position. If I want to move my thumb, then my finger would hit
both of those cards. But because I'm
relaxing my thumb, then my finger is going to
hit only the code from above. This is called the goal
change by Dan and Dave. And it literally blew people away when it showed
in their DVD. And then some, and I remember
being a kid and discovering this change and
literally thinking it was edited because I couldn't, I couldn't understand how it how it could be done,
but then I learned it. So now I'm passing
it over to you guys. And I think it's a
very beautiful change, will take some time
to get used to. But believe me, when you
pull it off in front of somebody after many, many, many times practicing yet you're going to
feel so happy about it. There you have it guys,
That's the goal change.
42. Bottom Steal Change | Advanced: Here is a very
classic color change that has been around for hundreds of years because
it's based on a bottom palm. This is something
that magicians have used for color changes as well, but they've mainly
used it to steal a chord from the bottom
of the deck and then probably produce it from
different parts of their body or from a spectator shoe
and whatever, any position. Basically, you do this by actually gripping the deck
in a Biddle grip over here. Positioning your
right pinky finger at the altar right corner at
the bottom of the deck. And then you are going to push this core
towards the side. This happens as the deck comes
in contact with the hand. Notice that the court has actually been moved
in this position. And this happens because once that card comes in
contact with the pinky, the pink is going to help it
move at an angle like this. Once it's at an angle, we all we have to do is
move our hand so that we can grab that card in palm position and
then color change. The court we move the
cart has been pivoted, and then we can take it
and change the cart. You can do it from a normal
position as well like this. All you have to do
is place your pinky in that position and then use your index finger to pivot
the card out just like that. So it's a very simple motion
of pivoting over here. You stop when you feel like you have it in good
position for your card, for your palm to
just take the card out and do the change pivot. Take the cord out to
the change pivot. Don't drop the card. Pivot, take the card out, do the change. When you're taking the card out. You'll notice that
you actually have to dig a bit deeper so that you can contact the inner left corner of the chord with the
base of your thumb. This is completely okay, and it won't attract
any attention. It will just look as if you are stroking the deck in a
gentle manner like this. And then like that. So just make sure that you have
the pink team position. You pivot the court,
you steal it, and then you drop it on top. There you have it, guys.
43. The Pop Out Change | Advanced: There is a beautiful
color change that you can do on the table. The first thing they are
going to do is learn how to pull back one card from
the bottom of the deck. Now you can do this. You can do this while you are twisting the deck as
you're putting it down, which is something
which I like doing. If not, while the deck
is down on the table, what you're going
to do is press down on the deck, move it forward. Now this is a kind of old deck, but it can definitely
work with any, you move it forward. This will leave one
single chord on the table because it's
similar towards spread. But instead of
spreading the cards, you're actually just
going to leave one card. Once you have the one chord, you're going to press down on
it and bring the deck back. And this will actually give you this break
that I'm talking about. This break and hit hidden by the deck and held
with the thumb. And this is actually
a move from, I forgot the magicians name, but i'm, I'm gonna put
it in the credits. So we have this
held by the finger, which is something that you
can do even by springing by your dribbling one card and then getting into position. It's not a hard move. You can definitely get it down. So you have it over here. And then we're going to
move this chord forward at this angle in such
a way that we can actually grip the
deck and the cart. Notice that I placed it at an
angle over here because in a minute I'm actually
going to square that card up underneath
this packet. So I'm going to pop this card. And at the same time, I'm going to square
that card up. So you will have to split
these two actions into two. First, you will have to
learn how to pop the court. And the popping happens
by releasing the card. By doing that, just releasing the pressure from the
thumb on the card. And at the same time coming
up and down with the deck C. And if you do that,
you're gonna get a pop. Now, if you start doing
it better and better, the chord is actually going
to pop out at an angle. You don't want to drop the
card and then go up and down. It's something that happens at a fraction of a second because
I am actually going up, I'm releasing and
then coming down. So up, release down. And by doing that, I am making sure that I'm
shooting the car down. But sometimes I've
noticed that if I tell people to drop the course
as they're coming down, it just doesn't work for them. So they have to
make it one-by-one, release, up and down, release up and down. And then once they can get that, they can give up
the idea of release first and then go up,
release and down. So this part over
here is actually known as the benzene
has pop out. And it was initially
done like that. So you are over here, you have the break, and then you pop that card
out from over there. From this. Once you combine this with what I just
showed you a second ago, you have over here,
you're going to square this card up just like that. Just as if you're very softly stroking the deck and you're popping this card
at the same time, and you will have the
color change happen. Now this is, a lot of things are happening at the
same time over here. But while doing this to people, they love it because it's
something that magicians, every magician on the
planet has played with the pop-out,
the busiest pop-out. But nobody has actually done
a color change with it. So if you learn this, you'll know something that more than 95% of magicians
don't know. There we go. Just like that. The beautiful thing
about it is if you want to go a step further, but I don't think you
guys will want that. You can actually do it
multiple times if you take multiple bricks and you can actually do it
as a switch as well. So if you do it face down, you can do it as
a switch as well. So that is the
Pepto color change. I hope you guys enjoyed that.
44. SnapShot Change | Intermediate: Here's a beautiful and
simple color change that if I would show
you without the cover, it would look pretty silly. I mean, you're just
doing this, right? You're just flipping the
two carts like that. Now. Honestly, when I'm doing it, I think that you could actually make it look good even
if you weren't cover it. If you'd be pretty
fast about it. But we're not there and let's not talk
about other things. The first thing that you
need to do is get a break. We need the second
card and you can do that in various ways. So you turn that front, the top card over, you have now two
cards back to back. Notice that if you put your
thumb here at the index of the car and you move
your index finger. Index and index. I just realized. So if you put your
thumb at the PIP over here and you remove
your index finger. If you go up and then
down, very sudden, the court is going to revolve around the thumb,
just like that. Now, this is a
matter of training because all you have to do
is you have to come down. Notice that if I go
if I go very fast, the court will already turned. The two chords will
turn very fast. Just like that, I'm
doing a sudden movement, which is what we're going to use when we covered what a snap. So you have to get used to
doing the sudden movement. If you see yourself not
being able to do it, try and do it slow and
see what's happening. So if you go up and
down without the thumb, chords are just going to jump. But if you put the pulp of your thumb over
here at the corner, notice that the courts
are going to revolve. So it's all about a matter
of practice and seeing. Okay, how can I,
how can I do this? I have to go fast. I
have to go faster. There we go. Once you go faster, you will realize that
maybe the chords are actually turning
towards your left, which is not something
that you want to happen. And this happens
because you're holding down with your thumb
on the corners, which is now what
you want to do. What you wanna do is make
sure that the thumb is over there and it acts
as a pivot point. So you're basically
hitting the courts. So you're not keeping
them in place, but rather you're relaxing
your thumb over there. And when you're coming down, you're making sure that they
can actually keep moving. Because if they
can't keep moving, then the only part
that's going to revolve is the cord
around your thumb. So keep your thumb
relaxed at the corner. And you'll notice that
just a small tap is going to cause those two
chords to flip. And by tap, I mean
the courts tapping on your thumb as you come
down with the thumb. Just like that. Now
all you have to do is cover that with a snap. And you got yourself a nice,
beautiful color change. There you go, guys.
45. The Snap Flat Change | Fairly Easy: Here's a color change that I learned when I
started doing magic. And it's one of those
color changes that were thought on VHS tapes. It still hits hard
and is very visual. So I think you guys
are going to have a lot of fun doing this one. You're going to execute a double lift and
then you're going to move the cards to the right, but you're not going to
keep them perfectly to the right of them a
little bit lower. So that when you actually pull that card towards yourself, it will not be exposed in the front side of the deck because that's
what's going to happen. Let me show you from an
experience point of view. You're going to pull that
card while at the same time, slam that card down.
Just like that. Very similar to the rubber
Dub Dub color change where we're hiding the card, but this one happens in a snap, so you're going to
pull the cord and hit that second card down
at the same time. So if you know what's
happening over here, then you can already
start doing it. Because you're
holding the card from underneath with
your three fingers. From the top you have the thumb. You can freely pull this card. So all you have to do is pull the cord and then flick
your finger while at the same time turning
your wrist so that the spectator won't see that you have an eight of
clubs over there. A couple of times, there you go. Something that might happen
is you don't pull it too fast or you pull and
somebody sees the card, Don't worry about it
at the beginning. So all you need to do
is just focus on all of the actions coming together
as a color change. So do them one by
one first you pull, then you hit a new turn. And you will slowly
see that the gap between the actions
becomes slower, becomes smaller
and smaller until the point when there are one unified action just like this. Then you put it back on top, you turn it in, you have the color change.
46. Color Changes as Vanishes | Concept: A lot of these color changes can actually be used as vanishes. Let me show you what I mean. If I take a playing card
and I turn it face up, and I steal that second chord. Now, when I will actually do
the change that we learned, that code will actually vanish because I am covering it
with a face down card. That is just one example. If I were to do the earnings
change in the same way. Oh, sorry about that. I will do the earnings
change in the same way. It's a vanish. Again, if I take two cards, you know, the one
that we learned. I don't think we learned
this one though, but you can use this one
as a production as well. If you have a color change, think about, can I actually
use this as a vanish? Now there are ones that don't
work as advantage, e.g. this one or this one, they don't really work
as vanishes or as productions or anything else that doesn't, that doesn't work. But there are other ones
that really do work. Let's see, we have
the duck change. This one doesn't really
work as a vanished, but it can work as a switch. So if you have one card face
up to each other, right? And I can say I have
the eight over here. We're going to keep the eight
on top, which is the snap, changed them to
the Joker because the two courts have
actually flipped. And you can do the
same thing with anything that requires flipping. You can change those
two chords positions. So this is one aspect of color changes that I think
is really beautiful. The fact that you can
use them as vanishes. And I just wanted to point
that out so that you guys can look at the changes that
we have learned and see, Hey, can I actually
use this as a varnish?
47. Linking Color Changes | Practice Idea: In this section
we're going to look at linking color changes. That's when you take a color
change such as this one, are well from a seven of hearts, when eight of hearts, Let's
get to contrast in quotes. You're going to have
that happen to. You go from a six to a king. Then I can do another change. Then I can just keep on going, go from the king. The six to the duck change. Then from here to
the shape shifter. Oh, sorry about that. This one. And people will
completely get mesmerized just because the court keeps changing and changing
those about what? So regarding connecting,
there's no real thing about it. All you have to do is just make sure that you
don't stick with the same two playing cards. E.g. here, I might change
it to three cards so that I can take these two and
change it back to the nine. If I keep changing
the five and then, and then we go the nine. And then the five people will understand that those cards
are actually back-to-back. But if I take the five and I change it
once into the nine, and then I take a break
beneath the second corner, the first one, and I do
the turnover change. We have a new card,
we have the jack. In this position. We
have two cards face up. So I can take the jack. Sorry about that. I can take the jack and
change it into the five. Now. I can cut the Jack in the
center right over here, control it using any position. And then we can go
back into the jack, change it back into five. So I can play around
with the things that I have learned so as to link them. And this, this, all you need to do for this is just performed. The things they've learned. Say, I go from that one, I know I have two cars there. Now. This one I'm going to lose. This one. I snap my fingers, and then it has changed
back into the Joker, which I can change
back into the seven, which if I hit here, I changed back into the joker. This is so trippy when
you have the lady there and you flip
her and still do. I think this is a beautiful
aspect when you're performing either on camera or in
real life to somebody. Just the idea that
a court can change constantly into
other playing cards. It's very beautiful. Last thing that I like to
do is I combine them with card history in order
to cut the deck. Meanwhile, so that I can keep performing with
different courts. There we go. Then we go here. And I'm done. That's linking color
changes, guys.
48. Congratulations !: There we have it, guys. I think you need to
applaud yourself because we just reached the end. I mean, I don't know if you
sped up through all of them. Maybe you went and you collected one that you like,
it doesn't matter. You finish this course
and I congratulate you. I really hope that you take these color changes for a spin and you play
around with them. They're the things that I
loved performing on the bus. I love performing
them on the metro. I love when you are,
when I'm sitting. If you perform color changes, people will be very
attracted to them. And I just like doing it
because it's very offbeat. They're just watching and
being mesmerized without having to come in contact with me and asked me
for a magic trick. And that's perfect. Vanishes, productions
and color changes or visual things of magic
that you can do anywhere. And people will understand
that it's magic instantly. If you're doing a card trick
to yourself or practicing, nobody will know
what you're doing, but something like this. You can do anytime. These are great
for social media. These are great for real life. That's why I call it changes, are some of the favorites
for card magicians, evil magicians that don't
really do sleight of hand. They still do color changes
because they're so beautiful. So thank you guys very
much for giving me your time and for living magic. I love magic. You love magic. I'm very happy about that. I'll see you guys around
here in Skillshare. I have a bunch of other
courses in Korean history. I, of course, there's
inquired magic with Qualtrics and more
sleight of hand. I love sleight of
hand because that's where I'm actually good at and I focus on and we'll probably see
each other some more. So have a great day. My name is B's and
your name is awesome.
