1. What is SEO and what is a small business: Hi, everyone, and welcome to the scores. We're going to talk about the S U for small businesses and first thing first what? We want to define sport. ASIO s so at zero stands for search engine optimization, which is the practice off increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through organic search engine results. And now I would like to say something about small businesses. So what we mean when we say small businesses, we can refer to enterpreneurs to certain organizations projects that are in their early development. We can refer to even companies with fewer employees and so on. And when I talk about small businesses, I like to as to mention two important factors for someone toe qualify small business. Those are usually the company's or startups that don't have a special that TV, special sector, devoted toe marketing activities. And the second condition is that they don't have so much content they can publish every day . OK, and if you are satisfied those two terms, then you can say you can qualify as a small business and marketing. But of course it depends in any case, what I want to do in this in this course is to show How can small websites actually rock rank good in the search, although usually those first places will be taken by big companies, big websites, but says that have a lot of visitors and so on. And this course we're going to take a look at some tips on how you can improve your ranking and have a great ass. You even if you have a small outside your small business, so stay tuned and I hope to see the following videos. 2. Most important SEO tips for small business: Hi, everyone In this video, I would like to give you the most important tips when it comes to s U for small businesses . And keep in mind that these things theseventies will serve us as a city lecturers for the rest of our course. So the 1st 1 is still create a logical website structure. The 2nd 1 register with Google search results and big Web asset tools the third clay or create the Google my Business page and built locally the four month conduct Keyword research and target long tail keywords The 5th 1 optimizer page titles and method descriptions the 61 make sure there are not any technical problems. The last one request links from business partners. So Theseventies will serve us a great guy with how to improve your s You if you're a small website if you're small businesses, So make sure to stay tuned and to implement afterwards. Thank you for watching. I hope to see the former videos 3. Logical website structure: hi, everyone in this video, we're going to start with our tips that we mentioned in the previous video, and the 1st 1 would be to create a logical website structure. So Google says that according to their guide on how to become a ghoul friendly website, you should build your side with a logical link structure. Every page should be reachable from a least one static text link, and what this means, actually, is that your side should make sense to navigate. That means that your home page should link to your other important pages such it's about content services, contact us and so on A good side structure. This is really important to know that good side structure means great user experience, and moreover, a good side structure provides you with the site lings and what cycling's are there listing format in the search engine results page that show your sights Main page, along with several other internal links, which are listed below, and the here. I'm going to show you and an image off a Google search result, and you can see basically what side Ling's actually are. So there are huge issue advantage. They increased the lavage ability off your website and the point users to the most relevant information. The increase also your brand reputation. They improved click through rate, they short in the conversation, funnel and so on. So it's really important to know that by creating a logical website structure, you will be able to have this thing that is shown here. So people will also be able to see your other pages, not just your main page, and that is really, really helpful. I'm pretty sure that you really so examples like this when you search for something on Google. So keep in mind that is really, really helpful and really, really good for your ASIO. Now the question is how to build a successful website structure and here I'm going to give you four tips. The 1st 1 would be to plan out a higher he before you develop your website. And what higher here means is actually a way to organize your information. So something that is simple and it makes sense your higher. He will also become your navigation and your Ural structure eventually. So everything important begins there you can plan that's trucked that higher. He that structure in next selling wort, you can make more cups online. You can draw it on the white white board. You can even make it on the paper. So the important thing is to make it logical and to actually preparing before you publish it. And the general recommendation would be to keep the number off main categories between two and seven and to try to limit the number of sub categories. Okay, but of course, that will depend on the nature of your business and someone. The second tip is to use a shallow that navigation structure, and that means to make sure the pages, especially the important, was the most visited. WAAS are not headed to deep within the website, so shallow sites work better, not just from the usability perspective but also from the crawler perspective. The author tip is to create a header that list your main navigation pages are pretty sure that your only familiar with this but your top headers should list out your main pages. Anil Patel suggest that if you also have a footer with your manual ings, that you should duplicate the main links from your header to your footer. Because if you add some additional categories that will only complicate the user experience . And I I agree with that. And finally the 14 would be to develop a comprehensive internal linking structure. So the basic idea here is that every page on your website should have some link two and some link from another page on the website. So your navigation should accomplish internal linking to the main categories and sub category page, and that is really, really important to do. Especially if you have a small website. If you don't have that many content and so one, then it would be easier for you to respect the steps to implement this Davis. So make sure to do that. Thank you for watching and see you in the next video. We're going to talk about our next Thank you and see there 4. Google Search Console & Bing Webmaster Tools: Hi, everyone In this video, I would like to talk about why you should register with Google search console and being Web masters stools. First, I would like to define them. Google Search Console is a Web service by Google, which allows Web masters to check indexing status and optimize visibility of their websites . On the other hand, being Web Master Tools is a free service as a part of Microsoft's Bing search engine, which allows Web masters toe add their websites to the big index crawler, cedar side performance and a lot more without for a review. I would like to give you an overview of how you can access these things. And keep in mind that this is a bit technical thing. So I won't dive so deep into this. I would suggest that if you want to set up the whole process to take a look at some tutorial on how to do so, and what you can do is come to Google and type a Google search console and click on the first thing and this side will open and then you can read some information down here if you wish. But the most important thing here is to click on start now and then you will need to law again. If you have Google analytics, you can log in using the same details. Ultimately, alternatively, you can log in with a Google account. Okay, so once you have successfully locked in, if it's your first time, you're going to see a page like this where you can add your domain. If you already have some properties, you will see them listed here, and you can add them with the bottom that you will have here in the sidebar. When you add your domain, the next thing that you will have to do is to verify your website and you will have several options to do. So okay, now we'll head up to big being Web master tools, and I want to show you there what you can actually, how you can access it. So again, come to Google type for big Web master tools and it, like on the first thing, you will see this one this page and you can you need to sign then if you have Microsoft account, if you even have Google account, it will accept it, and then you will come up to dispatch, so it looks a bit different. But what you need to do is enter your website, Ural. Here, click on that and again you need you verify. So you will have several options to do so. And from there you will see what's next. So as I said, I won't go so deep now. I just wanted to give you an ovary and how it looks like. And I suggest again, taking some taking a look at some tutorial how to set up this from the beginning to the end here. I just wanted to give you an overview. This is really important to have some deep look into performance and in Texas process. So I would suggest that you do this not just for Google, but also for Bank. Thank you for watching and seeing the falling videos. 5. Google My Business page why and how: Hi, everyone in this video, I would like to talk about why you should create Google my business page and build locally . So first we'll start with Google. My business page. Google. My business is free, and it's important to note that Google, my business listing, doesn't replace your business website. Google. My business gives your business a public identity and presence with the listing guru, and I would just like to give you an example first to to see here. So if I type for example, Matt, you're Daniel's depressed real estate. You can see this window here on the side bar, and that is actually with Google. My business is. So instead of going directly to the website and making some feud a few steps more in order to find out more about them, I can see here there in this case logo how their office looks like where they're located on the maps and, of course, some other things such as address hours, phone appointments, even sometimes questions, an answer and so on. So this is a very, very something significant when it comes to s you, especially for the small website and, um, the thing I want to mention here is that there are two reasons that I would like to point out why you should have Google my business. The 1st 1 is it often appears at the top off the search resource. For local terms, that means that it pushes down the regular organic listing so you can get to the first place, even if you don't pay anything where you have lower organic ranking and, secondly, thes air free business profiles from Google. In other words, your business profile appears right when people are searching for your business or businesses like yours or Google Search and the Google maps. And those are the two reasons I would like to mention why you should have Google my business. Now. I would just like to show you how you can start creating. You're claiming your Google my business page, and it's very simple. You just need to follow the steps. So you come to Google Page and the you search for Google, my business click on the first thing that pops up and you will be brought this page. You can read more about it here and how it looks like and so on, which type of information you can provide etcetera. But when you're ready, you can just press start now and you will come to this page. And here you can see an example how it looks on the phone so which different options are allowed and so on. You can type your business name here. In this case, I will just But you shopped out me to show you what's next. And when I click here, you will see it asked for my business name and now I will have to choose my category. After that, I will have to choose my location and so on. So I wouldn't like to go eso deep now because that moment will ask me to verify and so on. And I have already very far for the businesses that I wanted to. So I don't want to make an additional one just for the demo purposes. But it's pretty simple. So you just go next, next next, providing necessary information and after, and you will actually be published right away. I think so. But without with in the following period, you will have to verify that account and so want. So when you're done with that, and you will be published in this way, and that is really beneficial when it comes. Yes, your ranking. The next thing I want to mention is getting involved with locally wins and at your small business to local directories. On that is the whole point of building yourself locally sore. If you attenders full, sponsor certain local events, Be sure to ask for the referral by the organizer, so that could be trade shows, gatherings, meetings, meet up concerts and so on. When you do or introduce something, you ask for a local news coverage, interview and so on. So all of those are some type off examples where, where you can build yourself locally, you can also move on to geographically relevant citations such as local Chamber of Commerce , other local business association and directories, for example, local networking events, community hubs and so on and off course. But you can always do is look for any online publications related to your industry. Usual examples are yelp foursquare city surgeons, so on. So those directories will usually represent and actually have a list off businesses in that area, and that can service a great advantage for you because you're a small business and you want to build yourself that you can start locally and then go on. But this is the best way to start, because usually publish mints in those directories are free. Thank you for watching out the following videos. 6. Keyword research and long tail keywords: Hi, everyone. In this video, we're going to talk about how you should perform or do keyword research and target long tail keywords before we start. I would like to say that as a small business owner, you don't need to pay for keyword research because there are many various free online tools that can help you with this task. The most popular ones are Google. Keyword planner Uber suggests keyword that I owe where you can create a comprehensive list of short tail and the long tail keywords, and we're going to talk about these two categories afterwards. First of all, I would like to mention you on example. Let's say that you're in the butcher shop. It's called top meat, and you would clearly want to pop out for searches like Taught me to trust top meet what Time to stop meat close. How long will it take to walk to talk, meet top meet phone number? And the good thing is that if you have a Google my business page, it is most likely that you will pop up for these queries right away. However, when it comes to more general queries, you also want to pop up. But if there is a lot of competitors and your smaller business, it will be harder for you to do so. So that's why when we talk about keywords, we generally separate them into two groups. Short tail keywords or foundational keywords and long tail keywords. Foundational key words usually are have a very, very broad meaning in general, so they have 1 to 2 words included. Whereas long tail cures are those that are for 34 and more keyword phrases, which are very, very specific to whatever the user is searching for. You see, whenever a customer uses a highly specific search phrase that they tend them to be looking for exactly what they're actually going to buy, that is what they're interested in. In virtually every case, as those specific surges are far more likely to convert to sales than general generic surges that tend to be maybe more oriented toward the general research or seeking off some information with long tail keywords, you can outrun the competition that is long. Tail keywords give you an option to show above competition, even if you're a small lower website, and that is really important to note also keep in mind that foundational keywords can be too narrow. That's what the long keywords are for. But going to general means that it will be harder to run for that term. And the here I prepared a nice photo for you, where you can basically see what I was talking about the whole time now. So depending on the number off key words, you can see the how high when there's a single word phrase or 2 to 3 words. Phrases. There's a highly additive market there for those words, but if you have four plus word phrases, it becomes high conversion and local petition market because people are searching for something specific and you should use that opportunity to pop up right there. So when there's only few phrases more general ones, usually the big companies, the big website will pop up first. But this more keywords when there's high conversion, is an opportunity for you to escape from that big competition from those big websites and actually show up. For that reason, you should aim at the qualifying for a certain long tail keywords, which are often search and then displaying your website there off course, ultimately you want to rank in the search engine results page for short keywords also, but long tail keywords will help you do that eventually. Don't forget to focus on long tail keywords. Also, to answer voices this and surges, which are very popular for local queries. I won't die very deep in tow, voice assistant and voice search, but I would just like to say that when people speak, they tend to use more words rather than when they write or type. So in that case, long tail keywords will also rank you better for the voice search, which is very popular nowadays. So that would be it regarding the keyword research. So make sure to preform keyword research and to aim for the long tail keywords. If you're a smaller, small website small basis, thank you for watching and seeing the next video. 7. Page title and Meta description: Hi, everyone In this video, I would like to talk about why you should optimize your page battles and meta descriptions to start off. I would like to say that if your side this small, you want to make sure that there is a page title and meta description for every page you have if you have a big side. Of course, that will be hard because you have a lot of content. But if your side a small, that would be something that is manageable, that you can do and should do. When it comes to meta description, Meta description shows in Google search results. And here I prepared a photo for you to understand the difference between page Idol or title tag and meta description in case you didn't know the difference. So you can see meta description is a short description that includes your target keywords as well as informs surgery. What your pages about ASIO. Best practices for your meta description include having your target hearers as close to the beginning as possible and avoiding keyword stuffing. If you're not familiar with the term keyword stuffing, that is any time when you add cures unnecessarily to the point where their content no longer makes sense to the reader because there are too many keepers. Usually people will do that in order to trick the search engine to display their site at the beginning, because there are a lot of key words. But that's just keyword stuffing, as I mentioned earlier. So, moreover, I would like to say that page title on meta description. They need to entice surge engine users to click through your site. They should not exceed the language with at which Google begins to shoulder them in the search results on what I mean by that is that when whatever plug in your user program to write your matter description, you will see the limit off characteristics that you can characters that you can use. And it's It is important to respect to follow those limits because if you go over that, Google will shorten your text and maybe some. Sometimes it will show the important part and finally met Description and page title should contain your target. Keyword this, of course, an optional thing. It's not necessary, but it's not too recommendable. Finally, I would like to say that is your best practices say that your title should be between 10 and 70 characters in order to generate the best results. Avoid using general description for your pages like home and instead use unique description for each page. When it comes to title attack, each bait should have a different title that makes sense for that page and includes the target giver for that page off course. Do not overdo it with keywords. Don't go for keyword stuffing and putting a keyword ones in your title should be enough. That is again something, something general that is recommendable Thank you for watching and seeing the full videos. 8. Common technical SEO problems: Welcome back, everyone. The next thing I would like to darkness that Nicholas CEO. So you want to make sure there aren't any technical problems on your website, So you're a small business website? Might look fine on the outside. It can have great graphics, color phones, animations and so on. But if there are technical problems, Aziz, they would say the background or under the hood. It will likely back to rankings and traffic because although that is not visible with the naked eye, global crawlers can definitely see that some of the common technical s your problems have to do with First of all, speed and speed is important when it comes to rankings. If people need to wait too long for your website or pages to respond that they will look for a different solution. There are a lot of free throws which help you detect your speed problems and a lot of floggings. They'll help you to increase it. Next. One. Duplicate contents of duplication of plagiarism off content in your block posts or description off your products or services and so on will definitely downgrade your overall ranking by Google, and you should keep in mind that the next one broken links or links pointing to militias or harmful websites should be removed again. It will downgrade your overall ranking and up to finally a knocked in mice pages. So as we mentioned that throughout the whole course and generally in other courses, they just should be optimized for all devices in places. So people want access your website only through that stop, they will use tablets, every some are force and so on, so you should definitely optimize your pages. Those would be just in general tips regarding the technical ASIO. I want that so deep into that area. But if you have a small website, this should be sufficient. That should be enough for you. Make sure to implement to fix those things. If you have any problem with that and that will be enough for the starting point. Thank you for watching and seeing the only videos 9. Links from business partners: Hi, everyone In this video, I would like to talk about why you should request links from business partners and what I mean by this is asked for links from businesses with whom you have existing relationships. For example, suppliers, buyers, partners, etcetera. If you're a small business, forming a partnership with local organizations can be an opportunity to get back links from their website. In that case, you may already have existing partnership, so you need to do basically to get in touch with your partner website and ask for a link placement. I prepared here some examples off what co marketing opportunities could include and that can be creating a partner page. Part of Page can showcase who your partners are, and that is a great way to build trust with your new perspective customers so that can be within the about us page or can be a separate patient website name dropping your Parker in your email newsletter and also, for example, writing any book together and including links the website here. I prepared always with some additional examples, more general ones that you can use to build a partnership and coma to use that co marketing opportunity with your partners, so that can be co hosting a shared webinar, collaborating on creative block those sharing condom social media and supporting one another a trade shows or any other event. So these were just some examples off co marketing opportunities that you can use in order to link to your porters and build those back links to your website. Thank you for watching and helped the falling videos. 10. General SEO referral : Hi there. Thank you for taking this course. I really hope that you found it to be helpful. Now, I would strongly encourage you to take a look at my general s, of course, which you can see on the screen right now. Thank you once again and I hope to see you there.
