1. Intro: Today, let's dive into something special. Open your sketchbook, pick colors that reflect your mood right now, and let's create a beautiful, meaningful spread that's all about you. Hey, I'm Oligo Bantas. Welcome to this short but powerful class. I will share with you a simple yet spectacular technique that will help you to create inspiring illustration. It is perfect for any skill level. I often use this idea to celebrate the seasons, like this summer spread I made. Today, we are focusing on autumn, but feel free to adapt it for anything that resonates with you. Holidays cosy Christmas vibes, all memories from a recent trip. Your class project is to create your own pages using this idea, your art materials, and your favorite colors. Let's get started. 2. Graphite Base: I've already picked up my colors. Today I'm embracing autumn with this warm calming palette. Please choose the colors that resonate with you. For example, when I worked on my summer spread, the combination of greens and reddish orange shades made me feel good. Tune to yourself, what are colors of your mod. Hmm. So what we will do. Look, the illustration is made up of several sections like a patchwork quilt. The content of each section is entirely up to you. Your thirds inspiring phrases, mortars, meaningful images, or just patterns and colors. It's all up to you. I usually paint in a sketchbook with a good watercolor paper, but it's not a must. Any sketchbook will do, this particular one is cheap and it's totally fine. First, I need a template. I'm using the rom shape with 10 centimeters sits. With it, I create the base for my illustration, leaving two, three, 4 millimeters gaps between the rooms before outlining the next one. Of course, you can use a rule for this, but in my experience, a template is faster and easier, and don't forget about the ches. Mm hmm. Done, and besides the rooms, I want to add round shapes like this one here. I love how they look together. For the circles, I'm using the bucket. A jar or anything that's right size will work as well. And I need to draw a frame around the circle. Well, the circle is ready. Look, I have this little sleeping squirrel here just for inspiration. It is from my old sketchbook because look at that. Sometimes it is so good to be like the squirrel, isn't it? I want to place her here. Your round shape will compliment the larger circle. And I'm drawing one more large circle over here. H of it. Okay, the graphite base of our illustration is done. Now I just need to erase the extra lines inside the circles and we can move on. 3. Colours: Well, with the graphite base. Ready. It's time to fill each section with something meaningful to you. Here are my colors. They are ready on the palette as well. In the main circle, I want to play something special to set the tone of my autumn. You can use a postcard with a message or vibe that speaks to you a meaningful phota, or find inspiration in a magazine. This is a free ad magazine from the pharmacy, I guess, and I love this pha. It fits my colors, and I love the idea of slow your mornings. That's something I'm truly embracing this season, it means going to bed earlier and waking up early. It is not easy for me to be honest by I love the act. Okay, let's glue this down and move on. I want some areas be filled with just color, and some will have simple patterns. For this circle, I want to use a layer part button because it's fun. I bought a gorgeous layer part print and have been enjoying it autumn. I'd like it to be part of my autumn sketchbook. Here will be sun kissed flowers. I recently created this watercolor, and it means a lot to me. So I want this reminder in my autumn illustration. I have a big skill share class on how to paint golden evening lighting. It is warm, beautiful, and packed with useful information and practice exercises. I put the link in the class description. All right. Now it's time to paint my little slipping squirrel. Little by little, I'm feeling my pages. The beauty of this approach is you can stop at any point and come back later. In an hour a day or a week, filling one area at a time doesn't take time, but it might be a creative pause in your busy day, time for yourself. Well, the first layer is done, and after letting it dry, I'll erase the pencil lines before adding the final details. 4. Finishing Touches: I've left this section empty to fill with words. Write something, uplifting, and to yourself. Maybe your plans for autumn or some supportive words. Remember this idea from the magazine. Let's add it here as well. It works better on this background, isn't it? And one more reminder for all of us, please mind that your art matters. Your creative voice is unique. I have this gold fabric paint, which I often used to add tiny charming details. H. I believe this is a perfect moment to finish this lesson. I hope you enjoyed it. You can find more ideas in my course five, Wow ideas to heal your sketchbook. So check it out if you like this lesson. Please share your projects and feedback. I do appreciate your opinion on such a form lesson. It's new for me. And don't hesitate to support each other. See you next time. Bye. Oh.
