1. Introduction: Hi guys. This is Ritchie. I'm an architect by profession. I have done my bachelor's of architecture from Bangladesh, India. And I've been a practicing architect for about four to five years right from college. Idealized how important it is to show you a plan in our design in a very present, a bell way, clean and crisp with I know it takes that extra effort, extra time to render a plan on Photoshop, but it goes along way. It creates a very good first impression when they see that you've put in that extra effort. So in this class today, we are going to learn how you can render your plan in a good way so that the client has impressed and it gives you an edge over the others. I will take you through the whole process, which includes identifying what you are trying to show through your design. What is the important aspect of their design? How to prepare your AutoCad file so that it's easy and lady for importing on Photoshop and you can begin your work right away. Rendering on Photoshop itself. And yeah, that's about it. So I hope that you add, looking forward to learning this, and I really hope you enjoyed the class. I would suggest that you take a plan of your own or through the resources provided in this video to start rendering along with me. So that it's easy to catch up, it's easy to learn. And at the end of the class you have something that you have done. So I'm looking forward to this. Let's begin. 2. What do you want to show?: Hi guys. So before we dive into it ending up land on Photoshop, it is important to know what you are trying to show through your design. You're doing an architectural design proposal. Are you doing an interior design proposal? Or is it the landscape that you want to show? It's important. Don't know, bought part of design. Are you trying to show how we're tying to show a greeting? If not, what is it that you're trying to show a zeta conceptual level design that you're trying to show. Is it just concept diagrams that you wanted to put up? So for example, if I'm tying to show my landscape design and in the proposal, then I would probably give the highlight to the landscape part of the project and just give an outline drawing of the architecture that is there in between the lines. If I was doing an interior design proposal, I would not focus event a little bit on the landscape. That would probably not even be a part of my image. And I would be probably showing oil that dialing down the elements in its own Gallo carpets, rugs so far, etc. etc. If it's an architectural proposal, I would probably even want to show a day exterior to show what the connection it has with its surroundings. I wouldn't focus too much on the period aspects of the building. I would just show a basic furniture and layout and that's about it. So once you've figured out what is it that is important to your design, it becomes easier. You know what exactly you have to do. And yeah, That makes, that makes life really simple. So Sadat, class today, what I'm going to do is I've taken 11 design of mine. Have a look at your plan and decide what is it that you want to show. And let's meet in the next class. 3. Getting the file ready on AUTOCAD: Welcome back. So now that we've discussed what is important to us and what we want to show through a plank. Let's dive right in and start the whole process. So before we get into Photoshopping, I will be showing you how I get my plans ready on AutoCad. And once we have done that, we'll move on to Photoshop. So we're going to start by opening the AutoCad file that we want to render. I will open my file. So this is my plan to give you a brief idea. This is the main road. This is the card drop-off. The car can go around and get out this way. Once you are dropped off, you enter here to the deception. This is the clubhouse. And I forgot to mention this is lack of weekend farms stay sort of thing. So these are the pathways. The central idea is the common area within days alone. There's seating, there is a pole. And these are the individually weekend stays and around it as the jogging path and as a separate jogging park in itself on this side. This is this art of Mogul garden sort of idea. So moving on, Soviet going to make a list of the things that we then need to start off with the walls. And then the second thing is the furniture, then the flooring. Then as we move our dose, the glass, the pathways. What DO because we have a pool though, cheese. And that's all, I guess, any hard hard scape that is there. So that is my list. So these are the things they need. So we've been separate. This is all but all plan. We are going to separate each of these layers and two are different, different area. So we'll start by drawing a rectangle around my plan. So this is our main plan. I'm just going to make a copy of it in case I lose something. So now to start off with the first thing, the walls. So generally we need many jobs. The plant oils, I'd enter differently. So it's not an issue at all. So I'm going to say li, I saw. Now my boys have oils have created. I will just copy this and put it separately. And then I've been an isolate the LEA. Now it's important that you copy this rectangle as well so that it becomes easier for us to get each of the layers in the same position. So I'm just going to copy it from this point and place it here. Yeah. So my voice, his lady. Next is the furniture. I'll find the child's little tricky because it's not always in the same layer and there's always something that is missed out. I'm going to try my best. Because if you see this isn't furniture interior, this is in furniture fixed, sanitary fittings. So I'm going to select all of these layers and isolate them. This, this and also the sanitary fittings. So as you can see all of this as isolated. I'm going to copy this again, place it separately. Again, we need to copy this. So I'm going to copy it from this point. So I'm hoping I've covered all the furniture here. Now furniture is done next is the floating. So I've created hatches from a floating. So all I have to do is select this, do select some MLA. So that all my floating edges I selected copy this rectangle as it, and copy it onto the site. So I already have the floating. So I've created the tiling pattern for the floating into hatch itself. So next we have grass but waste water pool, trees, we've applied separately. So all these layers that are two ways to do it. You can either use P line and map out the pathways that you have in this manner. You can do as shown. And you can basically get the pathways separately like this. Or you can just do it on Photoshop as well. I prefer to do this so that I'm clear about what my pathways and Ola. Same goes for the grass. I will use P line and trace over whichever part is the grass. So I already have it radio. I would do the same with the pole if required, but as of now, it's not required for in this case. So JAR file is read. 4. Plotting the AUTOCAD file: So what I'm going to do now is use this rectangle to plot. You can plot by pressing Control P. I have when I'm going to use joined to PDF or you can convert it to EPS as well. I'm going to select the sheet size. Select these this exact box. I have a C3b. It's good to have line weights and everything already worked out how not to get so that it becomes easier. Select the options as required. Landscape Fit to paper A3. It's better to create a specific folder for it. This is the plan. I'm also going to plot my voice. Select the same box and in the same position. So I'm going to name it. I'm going to plot my furniture layer as well. I'm going to plot the floating hatch. These are the pathways and the sister grass. So yeah, you can save this file as well in case we need something else later. And yeah, I like to break down my plan into multiple layers like this so that it becomes easier in case we need to increase or decrease the stroke on some things or make it darker, light dot. We sometimes it's required that you highlight specific areas, so it becomes easier if you already have it on a separate layer because highlighting the whole thing doesn't make sense. So we will discuss it for a day in the next video. Now, for example, if I was going to render and architectural, architectural proposal where I just wanted to show these houses. What I would do is I would just take this back effect. The same process follows. I would buy, just take this part of it and walk on it on a bigger scale. It would require more detailing. Of course. I will try to show the relationship between these four elements. So now that we have a plan ready, we can move on to importing the highland Photoshop and starting the process of rendering. I hope you guys have your plans ready to move on. 5. Importing the file to Photoshop: Welcome back. Now that we have our plans ready, Let's start by importing it on Photoshop so that we can begin. I'd end up process. So like you can see, have opened Photoshop. Photoshop is an Adobe product. It is a raster image software which is used for editing photos, for digital art, for rendering AutoCad plans like this and so on. This is its logo. You can download Photoshop from the Adobe website 8 or Pfizer trial period of seven days after which you will have to buy the license for the same. So we're going to start by opening the main plan file. Go to the folder where you had saved it. And this is the plan media box crop to me, the box. This is the size resolution of 150th gardener. But I'm going to select the 100 to give you a basic idea. And the mean for the shop tab is here. You have options like file, Edit, Image, Layer, Type, select, etc. and so on. You are tools that I needed, like the Text Line, Fill, Color, crop, or love data 0. I will not go into details of this only Eisenmann that we require. I will tell you about the tools. The other thing is the layers panel is 0. You can delete a layer, a new layer, make a group, and so on. So that we can change the opacity, say LAP ACT, etc. hill. So we're going to start by renaming this layer. This is the plan. You can double-click on it and select the whole thing and say the plan. We will create a new layer. The second option is create a new layer. Drag and drop it below. So this layer is below. And we are going to fill it with white so that weekly ad able to see this plan. So this bucket sort of dual as the paint bucket. We click on it, make sure the color you've selected as white eye And we just collect q. So now you can see the plan more clearly. Moving on. Now I'm going to open the voice file. Select, make sure you've selected the same resolution and the same crop to option. So now this is our plan. I'm going to rename it to walls. We are going to copy this layer to a main file. So I'm going to say duplicate Leo document. You have to select this. Make sure you have this file open so you select plan. Okay? So now if you see this model is layer is already here. So if I remove this, just the walls are present here. I'll close this file. Similarly, I'm going to open all the files. Pathways, green furniture and floating scrub to Media Box resolution of 150 to 300 word, the word. As the resolution goes higher, the file gets heavier. You love to do this for each file. Now make sure to rename the layer first, but with Right-click duplicate layer to the main file and close the file. So now you can see all the layers. I'm going to press Save, plan, render. I hope you guys are ready to start venturing. This was the whole process of importing the file onto the software. So let's move on. 6. Adding the basic colors: Welcome back. So we have finally York to the render process of the whole flawless. I hope you guys, I excited and let's start. So how we're going to start is caused by giving the basic colors to each of the things that are required for the green. Grass is green, motto blue, and so on. So we will just start with that. So let's start with the voids. I'm going to turn off. Each of that delivers the key here is the dough enough option. So I've turned up for all the other layers, I am going to use the magic one tool. And what the magic one tool does. This is the magic wand tool. What it does is it selects everything which is in the same color on the layer. So I'm going to click envoys because we had on that layer, select your eye and as you can see, it's selected everything else late, everything that is why you enjoy reading that is empty. And you do the same thing. You make sure your Add to selection by Dennis selected. So this is the single selection act to selection, subtract from selection. And this is the, whatever is the overlapping part, that is what this dielectric. So make sure your add to selection option is selected. And so now you can see that everything else is selected. Now if I create a new layer and use my fill paint bucket tool and select color black and put it here. It makes everything black. But that's not what I want. So I'll press Control Z. I'm going to white. I'm going to do is use this option. Right-click, right-click, and say select invoice. So now it has selected my walls. Now I'm going to rename this layer to walls. Hatch. I fill the layer with black. So as you can see, my boys are filled black. Now I don't want this spot to be fully black. It's a sloping roof and it's a clubhouse have not gone into detail, so it's just a box. What I'm going to do is again, select the Magic Wand, stay on walls. Leo, select this right-click layer via cut, and I'm going to name it as clubhouse. And what I'm going to do with a du, so basicity to talk to you percent so that it looks later. So this is my Leo. So my voice was clubhouses done. I'm going to go to the path Twilio. These are my pathways. So again, the same thing. I'm going to use my magic wand tool. Go select the pathways Leo, and use the magic one tool and select this. And I'm going to hide the color that I wish to add. So my pathways, I'm imagining them to be Gree. I'm going to actually really with black and just reduce the opacity to what do I need? Yes, So my pathways, I didn't, now coming to the green path. Same thing. I'm going to select this. So what had happened only a voice, I was selected the Twilio and I was chained to select. So it was giving me a wrong outlaid, right? So now I say contrarily, you go to green. I select this, go to green edge. Select that eye color that I want. So our greens then floating, we have the hatch and the plan. So when I turn on all the layers, and this is how much we've managed to do. Now if you see these spikes which are a part of this unit, they are also supposed to be green. So what we are going to do is use the magic one tool, select the plan layer and select this. So it has selected this area for me. Ensure that you've selected the AICPA selection tool and click your stores so on. You can select for all the houses. I think that's about it. I'm going to go to the green hatched layer, make sure the same green is the paint, but use the paint bucket tool and fill. So my green is all selected. Now, if you see this part of the plan, this is like a mogul garden. So these four quite dense or whatever we call it, those, that also green. So what I'm going to do is again, select line, use the magic one tool. Select these four squares. Go to the green hatched Leo, and select, use the paint bucket to fill it. So this much of our work is done. Now coming to the next layer. Next thing, this is the main drawing which is circulating and this is Rho Lord as well, Endo root. So we are going to use the magic one tool, select plan. And select this layer which has selected the road. And select your SQL which has selected all these force roots are going to create a new layer name it drawed. Again, I'm going to use black for now, Philip II and reduce the opacity to whatever I feel is required. Right. Now. Coming to this part, what I want to do is maybe create a water sort of feeling hill. But if you see, if I use the magic wand, select line and use the model magic one pool, it's selecting the whole area. What I need is water, just heal. So what I'm going to do his US plan and use the brush tool. Reduce. It says maybe 22 points. Click here, press Shift and click kill. So I've created a line which might block this. Similarly, I'm going to block it still doesn't seems cheap. If you see my obesity is 13 percent. That's why the line is late. If I want it to be darker, I can click 70 and there you go. I'm going to leave it light. This was just to show you. Now I'm going to use the magic one tool. Select this, which becomes water. Where else do we have watered? This is the pool, so there's what Dojo and this is the jacuzzi. So we have what? Toyota as well. We're going to select this, create a new water lilies. And we are going to fill it with blue, maybe a little lighter. So we have covered the border layer as well. I think this is the toolbar to Fountain, so we can add that to this as well. Right? Now all these remaining areas, either index. So we're going to select via going to create a new layer for decks. For the deck we are going to use some thing brown. Now, this central thing also I would be treating as desert deck. So here we go. Now what is left is this car park areas, which is going to be another layer. So I'm going to select everything here. Create a new layer for the car. And what color do we add to it? I'm going to leave it very light gray again. So I'm just going to turn it black first. No. I don't. No light this area selected, we need to remove it. Hind. We will go to that Pathways layer, select the subtract from selection tool and select this. So the pathways have got ten minutes to go back to car POC colored black. And I'm going to reduce its opacity to 10 percent. Press Control D to unselect. Now as you can see, this is left as well. I am imagining that to just be green. So I'm going to go to plan layer selected, go to the green hatched layer and select, select this. And to select the color, you can, to select the same color. You can open this and then directly come yard and the color picker tool comes in. So it's a legacy, same green. And then you can use the paint bucket tool to fill. So most of it is done. What I'm going to do is since it's a site plan, I'm going to leave all these houses as they are completely right and not get into details of the same. That I will take a small part of it to highlight it for my presentation. For now, let's leave it at this. So what we are trying to show you how it is these units and how they relate to each other. Yes, So we are done with our basic colors. To get an idea about how it's going to be. We will go on to the next part where we been a day 10 at shadows, make it look better. So I hope you are ready with this much and looking forward to the next one. See you in the next video. 7. Water - effects: Welcome back. In the last video, we had a basic colloids on basic colors on the plan. Now what we're going to do is firstly, delete old unwanted layers. I'm just going to turn off all the layers. Ueno. Start with the roared, my road layers perfectly fine for dose. Dex, buck, stone, remainder. But two is floating. We don't need this green green hatch pathways that house. And we don't need these walls as well. Now what I'm going to do is being the mean plan layer below. Yeah. So we will start with water. So we need to give what sort of depth that I know it's a flat color. So what we're going to do is double-click on it. You will open this layer style box. So to give depth to what DO, what we can do is given a no shadow. So when you click on the inner shadow, it opens this on the side. Now, there are multiple things that you can select depending on your understanding and depending on what you are looking for. So the opacity of the shadow, do you want it to be 100 percent? This doesn't feel great because it's showing depth, it showing that there is no water in it. So I'm going to keep my opacity. I maybe 45, that the sense of inner shadow. So if it's harsh sunlight, you would have this much shadow, but it's very late for me. You can also change the angle. But you have to make sure that you use the same angle for oil shadows that device, it look known. I'm going to keep it at 45 degrees. You can also change the size. If you do this, it becomes fully Doc. I'm going to just keep it this much. So depending on what you are looking for, you can change. The noise, adds a little bit of it doesn't look so good so far. Vata Cortes smooth, so you don't need any noise as such. So that's it for them. So when you zoom out and see, you can see that there's adept in the water. Now I'm not very happy with the color. So I'm going to select all of it and change the color a little bit. This may be looking a little too dark. So I think this looks fine. So as you can see, there's a little bit of depth. So this is how you do the water, save it. And let's meet next for the grass part of it. 8. Grass - effects: So like you can see, we've already edited the design. Now what we're going to do is walk on the grass, select the green hatched layer. This is all trial and error and things which will look good to you. So what I might be doing might not look good to anywhere completely free to change it. I'm just showing you what we can do. So one thing that you can do again, your reside that little bit of shadow, but you cannot give as much shadow as you gave to the lacO because as you know, the depth of the water is more than a Kusto look like. The depth of the grass is very little. So my distance is going to be reduced further. I'm going to just keep it at three or maybe went to the size of it will reduce as well. Again, size also is that to me before I ten looks a little too much, is talking to a shop. I'm going to reduce the pace 50 as well. And I'm going to add a little bit of noise in this because it is glass. So you can see it's got little bit of nice by noting that can be done is to go to Pattern Overlay. So there are many patterns I'm selecting. You will have to see what looks right. Hi, and you will have to keep the opacity to a minimum. You can also do isn't the lips a bit of noise to this? So you'll have to select this, select brush, select a because size to reduce the hardness as much as possible. And keep the opacity pretty low. Select a darker shade of this green. And a little bit of on the edges. I'm going to reduce the opacity folder to give it a smooth gradient. So that can manually be done, but it depends on the time you have. I prefer to just go by this. And the Warsaw Pact ANOVA with a little more opacity. And so as you can see, grass is slightly ready as well. 9. Pathways - effects: Now what we can do is select the road layer. I kind of don't like how dark it is. I'm going to reduce the intensity. Again, go to Layer Style. I'm just trying out a lot of options here. So I've created the bevel. I've used that Bevel and Emboss option and I'm selected texture. If I remove texture, you can see it's clean. When I add texture to it, it gives this effect. Which is nice because the road is supposed to be a little bit of, I can also change tread depth of this. But I don't need so much, just one Tesla field. So that doesn't feel too smooth. And like you can see that little bit of texture made Haldane effect. We can also take back. Yeah, that's it. The color has lightened a bit. I'm going to increase this to 60, 50. And that's, we are going to do these pathways. Again, I'm going to go for a little bit of turnover. So I'm going to use this pattern so that it looks like a styling. Maybe I can deduce the size a little bit. I don't want it to be too dark. Yeah, that set So when you see my pathways also ready, I'm going to just try out a little more before I close this. I don't know, and to do this. And that's it. So my iPad quiz, hi radii as well. Now this docking is what is left. I'm going to again just to unpack the ANOVA layer and leave it. So the color seems very light. So I'm going to increase it. 10. Gradient- roof: So my plan is almost today. Now if you see this part is looking very late, tackle a Bose. What I'm going to do is I'm going to show it as a roofed structure instead of gray. So I'm going to select this area. And I'm going to right-click to select the gradient tool. And I'm going to still draw lane familiar to you. Now, the thing is I've selected, right? So, so I'm double-clicking. I've selected the grain didn't tool. I'm going to click here, which will open this. I'm going to select, click on this, which will show the color. And now I'm going to select that color which I need for my rules. And he will be a lighter version of the pink. Because the opacity is 30 percent. It's showing that we can make it 100 times. Yeah, that's it. So this is a roofed structure. 11. Deck - effects: One more thing left as these decks. I am going to again, just go for Pattern Overlay and maybe reduce the opacity a little bit. You can choose what works best for you. I find this convenient as also an Adobe to do weight wherein you find the texture of the image that you want and then you use the concept of clipping masks. I shall teach you about it and some class for now. Let's stick to this. I'm going to write a little bit of shadows or depth till in Russia Erdogan Lord, to have to do a drop shadow so that it looks race. So you can see that the friend sealed. So when I unselected, their depth is gone. And when I select that again, it kind of gives that depth. I do not want it to look that deep. If we do this, it looks like it's floating and debt. We do not want it that way either. So they can go into keep their distance minimum. And that's it. So like you can see, it's already, don't forget to press Save. And as we move on to the final part of our tutorial, we are going to add the trees and talk cause to this. But entering, one more thing is, we have not added this outer Lord, if you feel like you need to add it, you can do it. And in the same way, I'm going to go to plan, select the area, create a new layer, say dumb, mean roared. I add black to it and reduce the colors as much as I want it. I'm just going to add a little bit of noise to this. With the pack. Don't overtly. It's very minimal and I'd like to keep it that way. And I'm just going to make it a little bit darker. Okay, It's not looking so great. So going back to late, and that's set by, it'll make it 40, I think. Covid, only the final part is left fled in the eye. The trees to why design. So looking forward to seeing you in the next class, don't forget to save. 12. Adding the trees: So we are in more step. We are at the final part of our presentation where we will add that trees. So like you can see, we are getting a predictably our idea about what our project is. How the individual houses up lists and how they have their own guidance which are facing each other. How the pathways connecting each of these houses, how does a dedicated parking space for each of the objects and the areas which are there dx. Now, we need to show where the trees are in this project. So what I do for this, as I basically go on the Internet, find that three PNGs that I would like to, please. We need it and plan, which is the top view. So you can decide what kind of tree 1 to place. You want it. More like watercolor, who wanted to realistic? Or you just want a black and white version of it. So it depends on how far a lot you want. You can also use multiple kinds of trees. You can use a simple line drawing like this. So I'm going to show you both. You can place multiple ones and decide what looks best. Going to tie this as well. And I'm going to try this and this. So I'm just going to save a copy. Please set go. I need to delete the white part of this, so I'm going to use the magic one tool. Select over it and press Delete control Lee. So this is our key. You can select this marker tool and then press Control T to change the size. The three-layered is looking to transparent and it's not even seeing your. So I don't think this will work. Going to tie out the next one. I'm going to go in for this green line has of now use the magic one tool to delete the surrounding. Name it as Ci. I can press Control T to change the size. Not sure how it does look. This is looking at I'm going to look for something else. Maybe this one. I'm just going to open it in a new file. Select the magic one tool, right-click and say color range. And press Delete, hind the duplicate layer on to plant render. Control realty. Reduce the size. And I think I like this T better than this one. So I'm going to just delete it. I prefer the realistic tree. So this whole part of minus covered with trees. So when there's a, there's a shadow. So we are going to create a shadow first. So you can adjust like you want. And that's it. Now I'm going to press Control oil. And Jesse Chuy get took place that control oiled drag it took place it. So it keeps creating multiple copies here, what you can do is create a group and put the steady trees. And so now everything related to the trees will be in that group. So my t is your dragon. I'm going to have small plants so I can reduce the size of it. And just, I'm going to circulate all along the garden. I've left this little open to step in. And now again, I need a good T, So I'm going to select a big T and place a few along the border of the plot. I've placed that is, yeah, I'm going to place one here. One more thing left to do is I discuss to show the packing. So again, for dy dt, I go to Google, search for a car PNG and plan. I can use a simple line drawing like this or use the real test. I'm going to go with this one. I'm going to paste it in a new file. I'm going to just select the ADL, that car and say layer via cut. And duplicate this layer onto my planner. And I'm going to reduce the size of it using Control T to rotate it and place it wherever required. That's placed on the cause and it is done, we are ready to save. So let's move on to the next final video of this. 13. Saving the file: Solving have come to the final part of this video. High as you can see, the plan is looking quite good. It's giving a clear idea about what is red, how much green we have, how much pathways we have, what is the jogging track? How much water the idea we have, and how each of the unit is interacting with each other. You can see how I've placed DO units facing each other so that there is interaction and that is clearly seen after the planet's been rendered. While you can do is add the labels, name each part of the plan, and that's it, then it's good to go. I'm not going to label in this way due because that is something I'm sure all of you can do. Generally, what they do is hypotension, the form of a presentation on PowerPoint. So I save this as a JPEG high and then I do the labeling dead. So let's do it. So what I'm going to do is I've saved the file since I want to skip this, but I'm just going to crop W Canvas. This is a crop option which adduced and you press the tick mark to get it done. And we are ready. I'm going to save the Photoshop file first. Do a Save As you can save this as a JPEG, you can also save it as a PDF because I use it on PowerPoint, I save it as a JPEG. Xian Jedi, save time. You can decide what quality you want. I generally go from medium to not increase may fail says, Okay, and that's it. I will save as a JPEG again, you can use it anyway. If you are going to print it, it makes sense for your to Laban he or using the text tool. So you can number these. You can change the color to black. You can number this time create a key for it some way you are seeing the oneness, the pathways to as lawn. To use the pool. You can left align it and so on. You can create the key foot it by giving the numbers here. So I'm going to leave that part here. And That's it. We are done.
