1. Welcome!: Hello, my name is
Christine and welcome to this new Procreate
illustration course. You will create this
colorful illustration with a wonderful perspective. You will do that without
using hard edges or angles, but the size of the
different elements you will get to create a
beautiful atmosphere for your illustration by using multiple textures
and color intensity. By using a limited
color palette, you will create harmony
and beautiful contrast. All you need for this
course is the iPad, the Apple pencil, and
the procreate app. You don't need any prior
experience in Procreate. This course will feel like a brief with all of
that being said, Welcome to this colorful course.
2. Background: For this colorful illustration, you will need to create
in your procreate app a canvas that has
4000 by 4000 pixels. This will give you enough
layers to play around with different colors,
shapes, and textures. The color pallet you'll use for this illustration is the
coffee time color palette. You will find the
color palette in the resource page of the course. The two brushes you
will need to complete this illustration
is the texture, the KV brush and the
inking, our mom brush. The two brushes will be found in the resource
page of the course. The first thing you
will want to do is to set the color
of the background. So let's make this
beautiful bearish color from the bottom right side. This will create a warm and pleasing
atmosphere for this artwork. After you've set the color, you will want to go to the first layer of
the illustration. On this layer you will create some lines that descend from the top left side of the
canvas, bottom right side. These lines will
create a sense of perspective like a beautiful
road scene from the top, it is a pretty rare and special
angle of seeing things. So let's make the Canvas
a little smaller so it can be easier to
create these lines. Now let's create one beautiful
line descending from the top left side of the canvas
to the middle right side. And then you will
want to add one more of these lines
on top of the first. And now let's move lower and
add one more symbol line forming a little triangle in the bottom left
side of the canvas. Now that the lines of
the perspective, dan, you will want to
create a sense of light and shadow to
your illustration. For that, you'll want to
pick from the brushes, the beautiful KV brush, and start creating
the sense of depth to your illustration by coloring the bottom right
side of the canvas, making sure you
create this shadow at an angle of 45 degrees. Just a bit of this shadow
will be enough for the time. And now that you've
placed the shadow, you will want to create a
little bit of light as well. So you'll want to pick
from the color palette, the clean wide from
the top right side. Using these beautiful brush, you will want to decrease
its opacity just to help that light up a
little bit slower. And either more delicate manner, just a few passes will be enough to brighten up the atmosphere. You can build up the
textures until you reach the diagonal
half of the canvas. Now you'll want to
create a feeling of fresh and easier to
your illustration. There's like a light breeze
is moving through the air. For that, you'll want to
pick from the brushes, the hormone brush, and decrease
the flow to about half. These lines should look
very transparent and light. So you will create
a couple of curves that build a shape of a circle. By doing this, you will create a greater sense of
movement, your artwork. You can create these lines, making them why
there are thinner. It doesn't really matter as long as they describe the
same main shape, that beautiful circle
from the middle. And with that, you have finished
creating the background. Let's move to the next step.
3. Red Leaves: In this next step, you will have a wonderful time creating some simple and
beautiful leaf shapes and the corners of the canvas. This will make the
illustration seem more focused to the
center of the canvas. For that, you will
need to create a new beautiful layer and then
go into the color palette. You will want to pick
the dark burgundy color from the middle left side. Then you will start to create the directions of these leaves. Starting with the
bottom right corner, you will add to each
corner of the canvas to beautiful lines directed
to the middle of it. Now you will want to move
to the bottom left corner and do the same very
simple process. At the end you will
want to move to the top right corner
and add one more line, just like before,
you will want to let the top-left
corner free of leaves. So you will let the
composition breathe a little bit and not feel
too close and tight. Now let's get a little closer to the leaves from the
bottom right side. Now you will start creating
some beautiful leaf edges, making the lines point
in different directions, going around the two lines. Now you can move to
the next couple of leaves, repeating the process, living from one
side of the line, keeping a little distance and creating three beautiful tips. The one from the middle
being a bit bigger. Now let's create the third leaf, making it a little more narrower so it can nicely fit
just right here, making the little pointy
tips a bit smaller. Now let's move to
the corner from the top right side and give
it as well a small edge formed by a couple of consecutive little edges after the drawing of the
leaves is done, you can zoom out and fill all of the shapes
with the color. As you can see,
after the shapes are filled and those pointy
edges are more visible, the composition looks much more concentrated to the middle. Now you will want to make the little red leaves a bit less saturated and contrasting
with the background for that, you will grab from
the color palette, the orange from the
bottom middle side. And then using the
texture KV brush, you will want to
let the flow lower. Then you will use the
selection tool to make sure the textures you will create
will color only the leaves. After this, you will grab the
brush and now lightly add just the light hint of this bright orange to
the edges of the leaves, just to soften a little there, HE aspect and lighten
up the composition. After you have successfully
apply the textures, you will create some veins across the middle of the leaves. For that, you will
want to grab from the color palette a
dark, nuanced color. After this, let's move
a little closer to the leaves and grabbing
the album brush, you will trace that
beautiful middle vein. And then you will add on the
right and left side of it a couple of short line
placed at 45 degrees. Now you can move to the
next beautiful leaf. Add that straight line in
the middle and a couple more lines directed to the little
pointy edges of the leaf. As you can see, this
really helped them get that very
beautiful leafy look. You will add for the little
leaves from the bottom left side as well,
these beautiful lines. And with that, this
simple step is done. You have finished creating
the first set of leaves that will add up to the
beautiful foreground. Now you will move to the
next step and create some more of these beautiful
warm colored leaves.
4. Yellow Leaves: For this beautiful
and simple step, you'll want to
create some simple, yet very vibrant yellow leads. So you will go to the Layers and create a new one on
top of the others. After that, you
will want to grab the Amon brush from Inking and the beautiful orange from the bottom middle
of the color palette. Now you will get closer
to the corner from the bottom right and shape
one beautiful leaf. Creating firstly the direction and then building
the edges around it, starting with two little angles on the right and the
left side of the line. And after that, we'll close the shape on top
with a wide angle. As you can see,
this leaf fits very nicely between the two red ones. Now you will move to the
corner from the left and add one more
beautiful orange leaf. Firstly, adding the middle line. And then you will
create two edges on each side mirroring
one another. And then you will close
the shape on the top. After the shape is closed, you can fill it with
this beautiful orange. It is so easy to
create these leaves. So let's move to the top edge and add one more beautiful leaf, adding the middle line. And after that, creating
those beautiful spiky edges, making the lines may be
a little curved inward. And at the end you can
close the shape on top with another
wide angled curve. Let's fill the shape of the leaf with this
beautiful orange. And after this, you
will want to create a little bit of a shadow on the base of the
orange leaves. For that, you'll want to make a selection of the three leads. And after this, you can
grab from the brushes, the beautifully
textured KV brush. Then you will want to pick
from the color palette, the light brown from
the bottom left side. And after that with a low
flow and the big size, you will go around the leaves, a couple of light passes, just a bit will
be enough to warm up a little bit the
look of the leaves. Now let's decrease the size
and increase the flow. And then you can go once
more around the edges of the leaves just to create a little bit of
nuance diversity. So it won't be just a
simple plain color. Now you will create the middle veins for
this leaves as well. For that, you will grab
from the color palette, the beautiful brown from
the bottom left side. Now, as before, you will
create that middle line and a few more lines directed
to the small pointy edges, making the size of the
brush a bit bigger. Moving to the leaf
from the left side, you will do the same. Just take your time to
create this delicate veins, moving to the top, adding that last middle line and the beautiful little
lines on the sides. And with this beautiful
step is done and you have finished creating the foreground for
the illustration. After this, you will select the Move tool and set on work. You will grab the leaves and the leaves outside
the canvas so you can have a little bit more space for the next elements
of the composition. You can play with their position until you feel like
they sit nicely. And after that, you can move to the layer of the red
leaves and do the same. Press the Move tool set on warp and drag the
beautiful leaves outside until they nicely fit the corners and there are
no gaps left between them. Let's play a little bit
with the leaf from the top. And with that,
this step is done. Look at how wonderful
and welcoming these leaves look in
the warm atmosphere. Let's get into the next step.
5. Branch: In this step you will
create a beautiful branch that will host a very
playful little bird. In the later steps, this branch will be placed
around the top right corner. And it will have a beautiful
white curve that will end on the left side with a couple of delicate tweaks for the
creation of the branch. You will need to pick
from the color palette, brown from the bottom left side. After that, going to the layers, you will create another
one on top of the others. Now let's draw the top
of the branch like a curved line that
is a bit tight. And then you will create the second on the bottom
of the first, getting the lines closer as they move to the left side
of the composition. And now let's close the shape of the branch on the
top of the artwork. After this is done, you can feel the
shape of the branch with this beautiful warm brown. Now you can create a
couple of small branches. So let's create the first one on the left
side of the branch, a little curve going upward. And now let's maybe
extend the shape of the branch with one more
tweak on the left side. Let's maybe make it
a bit more thicker. Now you can move to
the right side of the main branch and add
one more curved branch, getting outside on the top. Now that the main shape of
the branch is finished, Let's get a bit closer
and soften those angles created between the
branches so they don't attract too
much attention. Let's make this angle as
well much more quiet. And now let's move back to the last branch from the
left and maybe make it a bit thinner because it looks too heavy for its
position on the tree. So let's take a bit of its thickness from the
bottom side of it. This look much better. Now that you've finished creating the shape
of the branch, you will make some
textures on its surface to give it that
beautiful would look. For that you will firstly
make a selection of the whole brand and then
going to the color palette, you will grab the
lighter neurons of brown from the left side. Now let's get a little closer to the branch and bringing
down the size of the brush, you will start to create some
lines curved down branch. This will help the shape and
the direction of the lines. A bit more exaggerated
and much more suggestive. Let's add two more little lines on the right side of the branch. And now you will move back to the little branches and go
across them with a couple of simple passes just to integrate them into the
whole look of the branch. And now that you have successfully
created the textures, you will want to darken a little the right
side of the branch. For that you will pick once more the brown from the bottom, and then you'll decrease the brightness of the
color to about 30%. Now, with this darker nuance of brown and the kVp
brush from textures, you'll start to apply this shadow color on the
right side of the branch. So it may seem like it's
hiding between the leads. This effect makes
the branch seem like it's fading and will not attract too much attention from the middle of
the composition. Now it looks much more
integrated in the whole picture, very beautiful and small. And now that the brand
is finished as well, you can move to the
next Bureau whole step and start creating a curious little blue bird
on the top of this branch.
6. Bird Main Shape: In symbols that you will create a blue bird standing on
the top of the brand. This bird, as for the other
elements of the composition, will indicate to the
middle of the yard work. And we'll create a
beautiful sense of dynamic for the illustration. For that, you will
firstly want to create a new layer on top
of the others. Now, you will go to the
color palette and pick this beautiful bluish green
from the top left side. This will help you later creeds, some very beautiful and intense blue colored highlights
on this green one. So let's get a bit closer. And of course, firstly, undo this election of
the branch from before. Then making sure you are
scale on the last layer. Let's grab the unknown brush and create a beautiful
teardrop shape. As you can see, the middle section
of the teardrop is indicating towards the
middle of the illustration. Now let's just fill the two
halves of this teardrop. Now that the main body
bird is then you will want to place its little head on the bottom side
of the teardrop. So let's draw a
beautiful symbol circle and fill its shape with color. Now let's make some little
adjustments of the shape. Firstly, making the top of the teardrop a little
more smooth and uniform. Now you will move
to the top side of the neck and take out
some of that angle. Moving to the
bottom of the neck. You will do the same. This time taking even
more of that angle. Just so it seems like the bird, it's holding its
head a bit higher. Now you can get
closer to the head and add a bit more
of an angle to the bottom of the
circle to create a wider surface for the
features of the bird. And now you will want to
add a bit more color to that edge until it appears
like a smooth counter. A bit more on the top
of the head to make the head of the
bird seen larger, let's accentuate the line from the top to create a base for the beautiful wing from the back and on the
bottom as well. And that will make a beautiful shape for
your pretty little bird. Now that the shape is finished, you'll want to make a
selection of the entire shape. After the selection in spending, you will want to pick
from the color palette, the lighter nuance of cold
green from the top left side. Then let's grab the beautiful
KV brushed from textures and making the size quite smaller and the flow
to about a half, you will start to apply the texture light on
top of the shapes, a bit on the head. And then moving up on the body, keeping the light more concentrated on the
left side of it. Now let's add a
very fine strip of light on the bottom of
the body shape just to create that complex sense of volume and a little bit
on the face as well. After the beautiful highlight
of the body is finished, you will want to
create some details like the shape of the
wing from the front. For that, you will firstly grabbed from the color palette, the dark green from
the top left side, and the mom brush from inking. Now you will firstly create
a line curve down on the middle right side of
the body shape at the end of the line which stand
for the body of the wing, you will add some
sharp pointy curves, just like for the leaves pointing towards the
top of the body shape. Now you will move to the head of the bird and he will
place a simple that, a beautiful little circle in the middle of it to
shape Hi of the bird. Now moving to the top
right side of the shape, you will add a line to signal a little shadow
underneath the body moving and making the
line of the wing a bit more twisted to
make it more beautiful. And now you can move
to the top side of the shape and place a
nice and long contour. As you can see,
this bird may need a second wing on the
top side for making it. You will need to undo
the selection of the shape and going back
to the color of the body, you will add on the top of the dark culture a thicker line, making it thinner at the beginning and wider
in the middle of it. Let's adjust a little
bit of its shape from the top to make
it much smoother. And after this is time to create the tail of the bird foreign by some beautiful long feathers going outside the
top of the canvas. So let's start adding
these feathers. You can place them so they may
form a beautiful fan shape at the end because the tail is placed on the
edge of the canvas, it doesn't need
too many details. The eye of the
viewer must remain focused in the middle
of the canvas. After the beautiful
feathers are finished, you will want to
make a selection of the tail and the
wing from the left. So you can play some
delicate highlight on them. Now, let's go to the brushes and pick the beautiful
textured brush, getting the little closer, Let's bring the
color of the wing a bit more similar to
the one of the body. And now moving to the tail, you will do the same. Just a couple of passes will be enough to accomplish that. After the highlights are done, you will want to play with the contours of the
wing and the tail. So you will go back to the color palette and
grab the dark green. Now picking up the
hormone brush, you can adjust a little bit of the culture from the
top of the body. And now you will add
two lines on the week, one on the bottom and
another one on the top, and another beautiful segment in the middle to make that wings
seem a bit more visible. Now moving to the
bottom of the tail, let's accentuate the base of it, placing a little bit more
of this beautiful shadow. And now let's go between the feathers and place
on the right side of them some of this
shadow so it can give them a beautiful
sense of volume. Then let's undo the selection of the two elements and make a
selection of the entire body. Now you will place some
delicate shadows on the bird. So let's get a bit closer and lower the flow of the brush. You will create the
shadow on the bottom of the head and the chest of
the bird from one stroke. Now let's move to the wing and plays a little beautiful shadow on the bottom side of it and the little line on the
bottom of the bird. Now you will move
to the tail end, place to whites shadows
on the feathers from the right and another thinner
one on the left side. And with that, the main shape of the little bird is finished. Let's move to the
next step and create the details of the little bird.
7. Bird Details: In this episode, we'll
create the details and the features
of the tiny bird. For that, you will want to
firstly go to the Layers and create a new layer between
the branch and the bird. On this layer, you will draw the little food of
the bird for that, you'll want to grab
from the color palette, the beautiful orange from
the bottom middle side. Now you will want
to get a bit closer to the bottom side of
the bird and increasing the flow and decreasing the size of the
brush you'll create for little curves that stand
for its little fingers, one going on the back of
the branch and free more below the chest following the
round shape of the branch. They don't need to show up
too much, just a little. So you can indicate
that the bird, it's standing on its feet. After this is done, you can go and select the
layer of the bird. Now moving to the phase, you will create the
beak of the bird, starting with a curved line, like a smile on the
bottom left side of it. Now from each of the
sides of the line, you will draw two
more lines to create a triangle with the
angle from the bottom. More alarmed after this, you can feel the shape
of the beak with orange and getting even closer, you will adjust its shape, making the curve from the face much more pronounced and wide, making the corner from the
left a bit more curvy. So it may seem like
it's going behind the head and for the
right side as well, after the shape of
the beak is finished, Let's create a bit
of shadow on it so you won't want to make
a selection of it. And then grabbing
the light brown from the bottom left side, you will add a simple
line on the bottom of it and one more following the
curve base of the beak. Moving on the layer of the leg, your 12 firstly make a
selection of it and then add some of this shadow on the bottom side
of the fingers, still letting a little bit of the orange from before visible. Now that the details of the bird art then you
will want to create some beautiful highlights around the back and the
head of the bird. Now let's go to the layers and select the
layer of the bird. Then he will go to
the color palette and select the light blue from
the bottom of the palette. Now you will start to play some beautiful light strokes on the surface of the feathers. Just a couple of
them will be enough. And now let's move
to the wing from the left side and place a
beautiful wide highlight. Moving back to the
wing from the right, we will place a couple
more highlights creating that beautiful
texture of feathers. Now you will move
to the head bird and create some delicate
stripes of flight, beginning with a wide
one on the counter. You will want to create
these little lines up. It's shorter so the feathers can seem a bit more delicate. Now let's move a bit on the lower side of
the back end plates, some short parallel
lines to signal the beginning of the body and to better
describe the shape. Moving back to the neck, you will place a
couple more shirt and lines to create
that feather. Look tomorrow, little feathers. And now let's move to
the tail of the bird and following the opposite
side of the shadow, you will play some
delicate lights to bring up the volume,
the feathers. At the end, let's move back
to the head of the bird and add a wonderful
round highlight on the top of the eye to
create a bit more contrast so that I can pop out
and be more visible. And with that illustration
of the bird is finished. After this, you will
focus on grading the main character
of the illustration.
8. Character Drawing: In this step of
the illustration, you will create the drawing
of the beautiful girl. You will go to the Layers
and create a new one. On top of the rest, you'll want to make the drawing
as visible as possible. So let's grab the wonderful dark green from the top left
side of the color palette. The first thing
you'll want to do is to go to the layers
and hide the rest of the layers just so you have a little less information
around and things to focus on. After all, the other layers
are not visible anymore, you can start the
drawing with the head of the character shape
as a simple circle. Nothing too complicated
for the start. After the circle
is the new want to create a segment going
down from the circle, directed a bit more
to the right side, then you will continue the line and make it twice as long. And this time directed a
little bit to the left side. After the two segments are done, you will want to add one more horizontal segment with two little lines on
each of the ends, the line, these
lines will stand for the front of the code of
the girl and her waist. Now you will continue with
the color of the code, shaped as two triangles on the two lower
sides of the circle. After the two triangles are, you will continue with the
right side of the code, creating gum vertical
line and then the right shoulder living from
underneath the triangle. Now let's move to the left side. And as for the right side, you will add a vertical line to close the shape of
the upper body. And then you will
close it on top with a curved line
standing for the shoulder. Now that the top side of
the code is finished, you will continue
with the lower side. For that, you will draw
two short lines going down from the middle at
about 45 degrees. Then from the end
of the two lines, you will draw on
the right side are parallel line to the
one from the middle. And then from the middle
of the middle line you will draw another one
going to the left side. This will create
a beautiful fall in the middle of the code. After that, you'll move
back on the left side and draw a parallel
line with the last one. And then you can close
the shape and the bottom. Now you will close the
right side of the coat on the bottom with another
horizontal line. Now moving on the line that
goes on the left side, you will draw one more line
creating a very sharp angle. And then you will
close this beautiful fall on the bottom with
a tight curved line. After the bottom side of
the code shape is finished, you will draw the legs of the girl throwing the
leg from the right side, you will create another line
near the edge of the code, parallel with the middle line. And then you will add one more sharp line to
signal the knee of the girl. Then you will
continue the leg with two more lines going down, a bit longer than
the first ones. Now below the knee, you will add occur that stands
for the top of the boot. Then you will link
the right side of the curve with the
bottom of the leg. After that, you close the leg
on the bottom and you will create the bottom side of the boot with a
very simple shape, like an oval tilted a
little bit to the front. Now going back to the
top on the left side, you will create the top of the left leg like a curve
directed to the right side, hidden underneath the coat. This leg will be flexed, so you will need to create
the leg as a V-shape, going to the left side
with a tight angle. And now let's add
one more small line on the top to create the
thickness of the leg. At the end you will
create the left foot directed downwards as an oval. And with that the two legs of the girl of
Saratoga and as well, now you will create the
two arms of the girls. So you will have to
continue constructing the code starting
on the left side, you will continue the
line of the shoulder on the bottom side with
the inside of the arm. And then you will add one
parallel line on top, living from the shoulder. Now going with another
angle to the right side, you will continue
with the forearm going over the code as well. Now you will create a line for the bucket parallel
with back of the code. And now you will
draw the rest of the hand going
inside the pocket. After the first arm is finished, you will want to move
to the right end, signaling the fold of the
code from the armpit. Let's continue a little bit, the shoulder down and now you will shade the army
going to the right side, taking a bit of
distance from the body. Then you will place limit
for the end of the code, and then you will draw the right and the left
side of the forearm. And now that the
code is finished, you will shake the
hand of the girl. You can begin by creating
the big finger with a little angle coming from
the right side of the hand. And now you will go the
left of the finger and draw three beautiful
fingers closed inside. Now you will draw a beautiful closed umbrella in her hand. So you will start
with the handle coming out of the hand
with a curve at the end. And then you can close
the shape of the hand on top in between the
hand and the code, you will place the
rest of the umbrella. So you will firstly draw two lines that go
behind the girl. And then in-between them, you will place a couple
of short curved lines. So it may seem like the
folds of the umbrella. Let's double the
lines in the back of the hand to create the
inside of the umbrella, you will now want
to create the face, hair of the character. So moving to the head, Let's create a beautiful line across the middle of the face, like a curve to signal the
direction of the face. Now, on the top of the
head you will draw a curve that stands for
a beautiful hair band. Now you will start to draw
the wavy hair of the curl, starting with the hair
lock from the front and directed to the top-left
side of the canvas. Now you will create the
right side of the hair with a beautiful curve that surrounds the right
side of the head. And now you will create
some lines that suggests a beautiful teardrop
shape around the head and intersect
in the back of the head. These lines will stand for the
direction of the hair lux. Let's create some more of
these beautiful lines to have an idea of how you want
your hair to be shaped. If you want to
simplify your process, you can always make
the hair shorter. Now moving to the face
of the character, and let's grab the eraser and
get rid of the left side of the face to shape a beautiful
curve for the jaw line. And then you will
get a bit closer to create the features
of your character. So you will firstly create the
two eyes of the character, like two curves that close with the little circle that
stands for the pupil. After this, you
will want to place a beautiful curved line going to the right to signal the nulls. One more line curved downwards for the mouth of the character. And with this, the main lines of the character are finished. At the end. Let's go to the layers and
reveal the rest of them just so you can see how your
character fits the illustration. As you can see, it overlays a little bit of the
beak of the bird. So you will go to
the Move tool and drag the character
until it's placed nicely in the space left between the bird and the rest
of the elements. And with that, you
are ready to create the actual illustration
of the beautiful girl, not only the drawing. So let's move into
the next step.
9. Raincoat Pants and Boots: In this wonderful step, you will create the
close of the girl. From that, you will
need to create one more layer on
top of the others. Then you can grab from
the color palette, the beautiful middle green
from the top left side. Just like for the bird. Now with this color, you will once again trace
the contours of the drawing, making sure all the
shapes are nicely closed. This process is very simple, but if you're drawing, it's a little bit inexact. You will want to make sure your drawing is placed
in the right position. So you will continue
to trace the contours, starting with the left arm
and then going down the body. Now let's move
lower on the coat, crossing to the right side of the code and shaping
the front of it. And now you can descend on the left side
of the right arm. And now let's move on top and retrace the shoulder and
continue the arm down. Moving lower the canvas, you will trace the
forearm of the girl. And now let's close the shape on the right side of the forearm. Now let's move to the
middle of the code and retrace the
color of the code. So you can start with
the middle of it and climb up on the color
from the right side, making sure you
close the shapes. And now for the
left side as well, shaping the bag, top side and bottom side of
the beautiful fold. Now that the top side
of the code is done, Let's move lower and remake the drawing starting with
the middle of the coat, creating that
horizontal middle line. And now let's start tracing
the middle of the code, going down and
moving back up and creating some beautiful folds on the hip of the
beautiful girl. And then descend on the
right side of the code. And moving to the left side, let's retrace the drawing of
the fall from the middle, shaping that beautiful triangle. And now let's go up on the
bottom side of the code and now closing the shape on
the back of the left hand. Such an easy process to do. Very relaxing. Now let's create
some beautiful folds on the waist of the girl. Just make that materials
in a bit more crowded. And now let's remake this beautiful shape
of the arm on top. As you can see, all the cultures of the code are nice and sealed so you are ready to fill the shape of the coat
with a beautiful color. So you will go to the
color palette and choose the last green
from the top left side. This will be the base color
for the beautiful coat. So let's start to
fill the two sides, the code and the two beautiful sides of the color as well. A little bit of color
for the other two sides from the bottom and the
little folds from the middle. And the base color of the code is ready for the next level. Now let's get a bit
closer to the hand from the left side
and once more, picking up the color
of the culture, you will want to create
a beautiful entrance for the buckets shaped as
an elongated rectangle. And now moving to
the right side, you will create one more of this pocket folds
as a final touch, let's add two simple lines on the two sleeves so you can add a bit more
detail to your coat. And now that the code is done, you want to continue retracing the drawing this time
creating the pens. For that, you will go to
the color palette and pick the light brown from
the bottom left side. Now getting a bit closer and
using the hormone brush, you will start to shape the contour of the
leg from the left, carefully closing its
shape on the bottom and the top right where it
meets the blue coat. You can get a bit closer
and take your time while making sure the culture
is nice and clean. After this, you
can grab the color from the corner and
fill the shape. Now let's continue the shape
of the leg controlling with this orange only
the shape of the pants. So let's stop where
the boot starts. And now let's fill the
rest of the shape. Moving down, Let's quickly retrace the shape
of the right leg, going down on the left side and on the right side as well. Closing the shape on the bottom and then on the top of it, where it means the blue coat filling the shape with color. And now let's create some
little details for the pans. For that, you'll want to make
a selection of the pens. And then using the bright orange from the bottom left corner, you will want to create some heavy light strokes,
the orange band. So let's apply a beautiful
line on the back of the top leg and now
where it means the boot, another beautiful
white light spot. Now let's retrace a line
around the flexed knee and then place
another light spot on the back of the right leg. As you can see, these
light helps you create a beautiful
sense of volume. Now let's add a little
bit of shadow as well. So let's go to the ballot
and grab the brown. And now you can
get a bit closer. Wants more. And lowering the size, you will want to place a line on the front of the
left leg and then another line on the
front of the right leg shaping the knee a
little bit as well. And with this depends of
the girl are finished. Let's now make the
beautiful shiny boots. For that, you will want to grab the green from the top left
side of the color palette. And getting a bit closer, you'll want to retrace the boot king that
backside a bit wider. And now let's create the back of the boot and the front of it, closing the shape on the bottom. And now let's fill the
shape with the dark color. And then you'll
want to make sure the top of the boot
goes around the leg. So let's adjust the left and the right side of
the boot entrance, feeling what is left
from the inside as well. Now you can move lower
and create the food, making it a bit more oval
and small at the end, and then fill it with color. Moving to the last book, you will carefully create
the counter from the bottom, following only the limit that is created with the blue
code from the top of it. Let's close the shape on the bottom and on
the top as well. And then you can
fill it with color. After this is done, you will want to go to the
layers and hide the layer of the drawing to make
sure that there are no spots left and colored. So you will adjust the top, the boot from the right. And now let's fill with color the top of the boot
from the left side, making sure all the
cultures are nicely filled and there are no gaps
left between the colors. And now let's apply some
highlights on the boots. So you will firstly make a
selection of the two boots, and then you can grab the beautiful middle
green from the pellet, the one used for the code. Now, getting a bit closer, you will add one more line on the backside of the
boot and another smaller one on the rest of the leg and one more
on the bottom half. Moving to the other boot, you will add a curved line
to describe the shape of the top side of the boot and another one for the food
on the left side of it. And now it's time to create some beautiful lights
over the code. For that, you will want to
firstly undo the selection of the boots and then make a new selection of
the entire code, holding the pencil down
and dragging it to the right until the
entire code is selected. Now let's grab the
beautiful light blue from the bottom middle. Let's add one over the
rectangle of the pocket, another one on the bottom side of the fault from the waste. Let's place one more on
the left side of the arm, making it wider on top. And another little
light on the color. Now let's move back
down and place another beautiful highlight
above the fall from the top. Now let's make the brush
a bit bigger and play so wide highlight on
the left side of the chest making it
thinner on the lower side. Then you will move lower in
the back of the code and create a line between the
sleeve of the coat pocket. Then you will add one more line along the
line from the bottom, and then some shorter parallel
lines going to the top, just to make that corner
a bit more light it. Let's add one more little fall on the top side of the waist. And now you will
move to the arm from the right and on the
left side of it, you will add two
little stripes of light to signal the light
coming from the back. At the end you will place
two more little lights, one across the
sleeve and another one on the left side of the
coat fold from the middle. And with that, the clothing
of the girl is finished. Look at how beautiful
they look together. Let's move into
the next step and create the hair of
the beautiful girl.
10. Blond Locks of Hair: This short simple step, you will create the
hair of the girl based on the drawing
from before. For that, you will
firstly want to go to the layers and reveal the
layer of the drawing. Now let's get a bit closer and picking up the beautiful
light brown from the bottom left corner and making sure you are on
the layer of the clouds, you can start to retrace
the drawing of the hair. So unless firstly trays
the beautiful conjure of the banks on the bottom
and then on the top of it, culturing little bit
of face as well. Now you will trace
the outside of her hair band and then the lock of hair from
the front of the face. Now let's move the
canvas so you can easily reached the
lines of the hair. So you will start with
the one from the middle. Now let's create the
one from the top, and then the one
from the bottom. You can make as many
hair lines as you want, but just a couple of them
will be enough to create that sensation of air
passing through the hair. Now let's make sure the shape of the hair is closed on the face. After this, you will go to the color palette
and on value page, you will want to increase the brightness of the
scholar at a lower, a little bit of the saturation. Now that this beautiful
yellow is created, you can start to fill the
shape of the hair with it. It seems like some of the
hair contours are missing. So let's grab wants more
the color and make sure the contours are sealed and on the right side of
the head band as well. Now let's grab the
color of the hair, wants more and feel the bang of the girl and then the
bottom of the hair. And with that, the color
of the hair is finished. Now the lines of the hair
needs a little bit of refinement so you can grab once more the color of the hair. And let's continue a little bit the line of the banks so it
doesn't look unfinished. Now let's move to the
top and get rid of the little details that don't feel important for
the look of the hair. Let's adjust the hair line
from the shoulder of the curl. And now let's get back to
the top of the bank and make the tip of it a bit more
elongated and beautiful. Now let's fix a bit of the line from the top
of the hair band. After this is done for the
color of the hair band, you go to the color
palette and big, beautiful light burgundy
color from the middle, then you can feel the
shape of the hair band. Now let's make a selection of
it with the selection tool. And after that, you can
grab that dark version of the color and the right
side of the hair band, you will create some
stripes to suggest maybe a different material that can detach from the
look of the hair. And with this, the hair of
the curl is finished as well. Now let's prepare it to
create the face of the curl.
11. The Face of The Character: In this step, you will create
the features of the kernel. For that, Let's make sure
you are on the right layer. And now you can go to the
color palette and big the dark banished from the top
right side of the palette. Now you will trace the
contour of the face, starting with the
right side and then shaping the jaw line after
the conjurer is made, you can go to the
color palette and grab the dark green from
the top left side. Now let's decrease the size
of the brush a tiny bit. And now starting with the nose, you can retrace the
features of the face, making sure the new drawing
fits the one from before, and it's not bigger. Now you will redraw the two beautiful eyebrows
and the little mouth. Now you will go to the
color palette and grab the light beige
from the bottom of the color palette and fill
the shape of the face. Let's pick an eye color for the girl and fill the
irises with this color. And now let's continue
with the neck of the girl. So you will want more
big the color of the face and drag it on
the shape of the neck. After this, you will want to make a selection of the face. So let's grab the
selection tool and select the neck and the control
of the face of the girl. Now let's grab the
Amon brush and picking up the skin tone
of the face culture, you will place a big shadow on the right side of the neck. Let's close that line
of the forehead. And after this, you will place a big colored shadow on the
top left side of the face, going around the counter and back down on the
line of the neck. Look at how beautiful
this girl looks. Now, it seems like the
features of the face are a bit too contrasting
with the color of the face. So let's get a bit closer. And going into the
selection tool, you will select the
features of the girl. Now, going to the color balance, you will select the brown
from the bottom left side. Let's grab the brown and
fill the features with this much more appropriate
color for the face features, it looks much better. Now, let's go to adjustments, hue saturation and brightness, and play a little with the
brightness of the features, making them a bit darker. And with that, you have finished creating the face of
the girl as well. Let's go to the layers and
hide the layer of the drawing. As you can see, it looks so beautiful. Now let's get into
the next step.
12. Umbrella and Hand: In this next step,
you will create the umbrella and the
handle, the girl. So let's firstly reveal the drawing and then let's
move closer to the hand. Now, as for the phase, you will grab from the color bellow the dark
badge from the top. And now using the hormone brush, you will trace the
contour of the hand, starting with the big thumb. And now let's make the back of the hand crossing the
handle of the umbrella. Now let's move to the
fingers of the hand and retrace the rectangle
shaped by the fingers. And now let's
divide the fingers, lowering a bit the
size of the brush, so it can be a
little bit easier. Let's close the shape, the hand on top and
on the left side. And now let's go to the color palette and grab the light burst from the bottom. Now you will fill the
shape of the hand with this beautiful
light beige color. After the shape of
the hand is finished, you will want to retrace the shape of the
umbrella handle. So let's grab once more
the dark green from the top of the pellet and increasing the
size of the brush. Let's wants more
create the handle, making sure it's shape
is nice and thick. Now for the fabric
of the umbrella, you can choose any
color you please. It looks like this
beautiful, bright orange, but fit nicely next to the
beautiful blue color Coke. So grabbing the
beautiful orange, you will retrace the
contour of the umbrella, lowering the size of the brush. Starting with the little
waves from the top of the umbrella and making the
back of those folds as well. Now let's close the shape of the umbrella on
top and let's move inside and make
sure the two sides closed following the
contour of the handle. And now let's fill
the inside part of the umbrella with this
wonderful orange color. Now for the outside
of the umbrella, you will pick the beautiful
orange color from the corner and make it maybe a bit
lighter to appear more bright. Now let's move on
to the canvas and start shaping the
top of the umbrella, going down on those
beautiful curves, making sure the drawing
from underneath, it's nicely covered and the
lines are nice and smooth. Then you will descend
on the downside of the umbrella and close the shape of it on the counter
of the code, carefully following
the throwing hand, then you can fill the
shape with color. Look at how nice our
the color harmonized, that yellow looks
amazing next to the other nuances
of orange and blue. Now let's grab once more the orange from the
inside of the umbrella. And with it, you will
create some lines parallel with the sides of the umbrella over
the bright yellow. Let's make a selection
of the umbrella to create some shadows
on its sides. Now you will place a beautiful
shadow on top of it. Another one in the middle and one more on the
top side of it. For the end, you
will want to make a selection of the
interior of the umbrella. And then picking
up the brown from the color palette and the
KV brush from textures, you will want to apply some of this color on the
inside of the umbrella. Let's make the
brush a bit smaller and then let's
accentuate the coloring, the inside part of the umbrella. Now you can unselect
the umbrella. And with that, the
main character of this illustration is complete. Congratulations, Let's now move on to
the next step and play a little bit with
the position of the character and add some
wind, blowing leaves.
13. Wind Blown Leaves: In this next step, you will
create some lovely wind blown leaves and you will play with the position
of the character. So you will firstly
go to the layers and making sure the layer of
the girl is selected. You will go to the Move tool and play a little bit with the
position of the character, making it a bit smaller
and repositioning it equally between the leaves from the bottom and the
branch from the top. After this, you will
go to Layers and create a new one on
top of the others. On this layer you will create
a number of leaves around the tweaks and some other ones
floating through the air. So let's firstly go to
the color palette and pick the bright orange
from the bottom left side. Now let's get a bit closer
to the two x from the top and shape of beautiful leaf
on one of the two eggs. You don't have to
make the leaves look exactly like a major. You can play around with the
shapes as much as you want. The mind always finds a way to make sense of the things around. Now let's go to the
color palette then pick the beautiful vibrant red
from the middle left side. Now you will create
a beautiful red leaf on the last tweet
from the left side, let's draw two curves
for the bottom side. Then two little lines
indicating inside of it. Then you can repeat the process once more on top of the line. After filling the
shape of this leaf, you will want to create some leaves carried
away by the wind. For that, you will start
from below the bird with a beautiful red leaf that falls into the direction
of the character. Now let's create the bottom of the leaf and the
two little lines, you already know how to create this beautiful leaves for sure. Let's continue
with one more pair of those lines on each side and close the shape on top following the direction of
that middle line. And then you can feel the shape. After this leaf is finished, you will want to create one more on the top-left
side of the canvas, following the simple rule. After each line from the sides, you will create a little
pointy edge that goes inward. Very easy to do these leaves. As you can see, this leaf is beautifully closing the composition following the circular direction
of the wind. This helps a lot to build that beautiful when
the atmosphere. After this, you will go
to the color palette and grab the bright orange from
the bottom left corner. Now let's get a bit closer. And as for the
leaf from the top, you will create this
falling leaf carried by the wind smaller than
the ones from before. And now let's grab
the color from the corner and fill the shape. After this, you will create a number of small leaves closer to the girl that will create
that sense of perspective. So you will get closer to the
left side of the girl and you will create
some little leaves using the bright yellow. They don't have to
be too complicated. You can play with
the shapes of them, making them smaller or bigger with as many edges as you want. As you can see,
these leaves follow those delicate lines
from the background. Now that the yellow
leaves are finished, you will go to the color
palette and grab once more the beautiful red of
the leaves from before. Now let's place just a couple of small leaves here and there, just to create a
bit of diversity. As you can see, it
is very easy to create that feeling
of flowing leaves. They create such a
beautiful atmosphere for this illustration. And now for some final touches, you will want to firstly make a selection of the
last big red leaves. After this, you will grab
from the color palette, the beautiful dark orange
from the bottom left side. And then from textures, you can pick the beautiful
textured KV brush. Then increasing the
size of the brush, you will place a
couple of lights on the red leaves just
to help a little bit, those beautiful leaves to integrate into the illustration. A bit on the leaf
from the top side, and then a tiny bit on the
leaf from below the bird. Now let's undo the selection of the red leaves and make a
selection of the yellow leaves, the stallion, you will create some texture shadows
on these leaves. So after you have
selected all the leaves, you'll pick the
textured kidney brush. And from the colors you will select the brown from
the bottom side. Now you will add just a bit of this beautiful brown on one
side of the yellow leaves, making them detach a little
bit more from the background. And after this, the
beautiful leaves are gun and the illustration
is almost finished. Let's move into the
next step and create some very important adjustments.
14. Elements Reposition: In this step, you will play a little bit with the
composition of the elements. So the illustration can
seem a bit more balanced. For that, you will
want to firstly go to the layers and select
the layer of the leaves, the branch and the bird by dragging each layer
to the right side. Now, all the layers
that are selected can be adjusted and moved
in the same time. After that, you will want to go to the Move tool and play with the position of the leaves by setting the move tool on work. Now you can adjust the position
of the leaves so they can maybe make a little bit
more space in the center. Let's drag the corner with
the bird a bit more to the top right side so it can make more space
for the curl. After you are satisfied with the placement of the elements, you will go to the layer of the last leaves from
the previous step, and then you will
drag them so they can match it with the new
position of the branches. A very easy to do. Now you will go to the layer of the girl and selecting
the move tool, make sure you set it on
uniform and then you will make its body a bit larger so it
can be a bit more visible. After you are satisfied with the size of the curl you
can play with the position of its body may be
making the girls stay a bit more straight and not
that inclined forward. And now you'll want to go back to the first layer
of the background, selecting the dark badge
from the top right side and picking up the hormone
brush from Inking, you will place a
beautiful shadow in front of the girl
living from below the food that is staying on the ground and moving towards
the front of the girl. After this is done, you can move to the final step.
15. Saturation and Brightness Adjustments: Now for the last step, you will want to play a
bit with the colors of the background because
as you can see, the elements of the composition create a strong
contrasts with it. So let's go into the
layers of the background and then picking up
from the colors, the beautiful dark orange
and from the brushes, the textured kidney brush, you will increase the size
of the brush and create a very light texture on the bottom right
corner of the canvas, accentuating that perspective
of the composition. You will create this
texture until you reach the diagonal half
of the composition. Let's decrease the flow
of the brush and create a couple more passes of
color in the center. As you can see, these
textures help a lot to create a very
beautiful atmosphere. Now, let's get a little
closer and picking up the dark orange from the
bottom and the hormone brush, you will want to accentuate the color of the girls shadow. After you have finished
grading the shadow, you will want to use the selection tool to
select the shadow. After this, you will
grab the brown from the color palette
and you'll use the textured keep the brush to bring a little bit of nuance to
the color of the shadow. So let's bring down the
size and increase the flow to apply a couple of passes
on the surface of the shadow. Just a bit of this
texture will be enough to reintegrate the shadow in the beautifully textured ground. At the end, you'll want
to play a little with the saturation and
the brightness of the main character
and the background. For that, you will firstly
go to the layer of the girl and then
going to Adjustments, Hue, Saturation and Brightness. You will increase the
saturation of the girl. So it can be a bit
more visible and detached from the other elements
of the different layers. It looks much better
now, at the end, Let's go the layer
of the background and going to Adjustments, Hue, Saturation and Brightness. And now you will lower
the brightness and maybe increased just
a bit the saturation. And with this, you
have successfully finished illustrating
your artwork. Thank you so much for
taking the course. If you enjoyed creating
your illustration, make sure you leave a review and share your beautiful artwork. Thank you once more
for your interest in art and see you in
the next course.
