1. Introduction: Hello everyone, welcome to quilling flowers. My name is Akhila Talanjeri and I'm going to be your instructor for this course. In this class, I'm going to teach you how to make six different flowers using quilling paper. The class is structured such that in each video, I'm going to show you how to make one flower. These flowers are really easy to make and use some very basic tools. As a class project. I encourage you to make one, many or all of these flowers. I hope you'll all find these videos really easy-to-follow. Feel free to ask me any questions. Let's get started.
2. Simple Flower: Hello everyone. Welcome back. In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to make a basic Flour using quilling paper. We first start with two quilling papers of ten millimeter width and one quilling paper of three millimeter width. I'm going to start by taking ten millimeter wide quilling papers, placing them one on top of the other. And we'll start cutting fringes on them. Using my scissors and cutting fringes. Just like I'm doing here. We're going to continue this all the way to the length of the paper. Once done and sticking to papers together to make one long quilling strip. To the other end of the quilling paper. I'm adding the small three millimeter quilling strip and using some glue to stick it to the end. And we're gonna wait for it to dry for awhile. Once this is dry, it should look something like this. And now we're going to start quilling from one side of the paper. Now using my slotted tool, I'm going to start quilling this long strip of paper from one end. As I encounter the fringed strip, I am being careful so that the strip doesn't fold or slip. That ruins the look of the flower. We're going to continue this till the end of the strip. Once I'm done, I'm going to slowly remove it out of the slot to pull and tighten it a little bit at the bar. And now we're going to secure it with a little bit of glue. Make sure the bottom is flat. I'm just keeping it on a flat surface and pressing it with the back of my slotted tool. You can choose to do this with a pen or pencil, whichever you please. Once done, we're going to apply some glue to the bottom of the flower to make sure it's all nice and secure. And now we let it dry. Once dry, it should look something like this. And now we're going to start opening the flower slowly by just pulling the fringes. Once you're satisfied with the look of the flower, you can stop brushing out the fringes. And you should get a flower that looks something like this. You can choose to make this in any color you like and use it on greeting cards, Headbands, head clips, etc. I hope you really enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you for watching.
3. Rose : Hello again. In this video, I'm going to show you how to make a rose out of cooling bit by. I'm going to start by taking this phi millimeter wide cooling people of an orange, pinkish color. You can just any color you'd like. I'm going to insert my grilling tool and start cooling from one end. Once I'm done making a simply coil and I'm going to remove it from my slaughter tool, set it on a flat surface and let it unwind. No, I'm just bringing it to the size. I wanted to be. Just eyeballing the size and bending it to make this crescent shape. Once done, I'm securing the end with some glue. You're going to need to make three more of the same kind of almost the same size. And we're going to set it aside and let it dry. Now to make a smaller version of the same shape, we're going to cut the coiling strip in half to get the smallest strip and start cooling from one end. Once it's done, remove it from the slotted tool. Said the coil on a flat surface. Let it end wind, pick it up, bring it to the desired size, and bend it to get a crescent cheap. I'm securing the end with some glue. And now we make to more of the same kind and set it aside to drive. That kind of make the CM crescent shape of a third kind of a bigger size to make that am going to need a bigger grilling strip. So I'm sticking a half schooling strip, do one full cooling steps. So this makes it 1.5 in size. So now I have a longer strip of killing people. And we're going to follow the same process as we did before. Start cooling from one end, set it on a flat surface, let it unwind. And using my fingers, I'm just going to bring it into a crescent shape. Secular The end with some glue. And we'll make four more of the same size like that. So now we have five big crescent shapes for medium-sized crescent shape and three little crescent shape. This is all legally need to make advocates, to make the center and taking a darker shade of red. And we're going to make a type a coin out of this. We're going to insert my slaughter, don't mechanize type coil. Remove it. We're just going to pull it a little tight. And with some glue, I'm going to stick the end. And we're going to let it dry like that. For the next step, we're going to need a piece of Tomoko, Styrofoam and cork board and some pins. Now I'm going to place the center coil and secure it with a pin. And they're going to start placing our crescent-shaped around it. To make the patents. Firstly take the three smallest sized crescent shapes. Glue the edges of older the shapes like that. And we're going to lay them one over the other. Just like that. And we're going to hold them for a way to make sure the Old Stick and we're going to add depends. To make sure they're holder place. Once you're done pinning them, they should look something like this. And now we're going to start with our second layer. Glue the edges of the medium-sized crescent shape. Lead one under the other, and secure them with some pins to make sure they hold their shape. Once you're done, it should look something like this. Now for the last layer, glue the edges of oil. You're five pieces. You five large pieces. Like dad led and one under the other. O, press them like this to go all around the flour. And now we're going to secure does with the field pins just to make sure that they hold their shape while the drain. And once you're done, it should look something like this. And we're going to let it dry. Once the glue has dried, you're going to slowly remove the pins. Like this. I'm holding the flutter down so that it doesn't just unravel itself. Make sure the glue is completely dry before you remove the pins. And the last thing is out. You have the flower, you roses now Ruby. You can also choose to make it in a variety of colors, or maybe even add some leaves to give it a little bit of interest. I hope you really enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you for watching.
4. Daisy : Hello, welcome back. In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to make a daisy using quilling paper. Going to start off by quilling paper of five millimeter with in the color white. And we are going to use my slotted tool to start quilling from one side. Once I'm done making the coil throughout the length of this paper, I'm going to remote from the tool, set it on my table and let it unwind itself. Like that. Now I'm just going to bring it to the size I need it to be. And now I'm going to make a petal by pinching on one side of this quilling paper. Just like that. And once that's done, I'm securing the end with some glue and they're going to let this dry. Now, I have made ten to 11 petals just like these. You can just eyeball this size because the petals arent always perfect. And just to make sure the petal holds its shape, I'm going to apply some glue on the top. Makes sure the glue is clear. So you don't have any color on your petal. To make the center I'm taking the ten millimeter wide quilling strip in the color yellow and layering these strips one on top of the other. And I'm going to start cutting fringes in them. Once I'm done cutting fringes throughout the length of the people, I'm going to stick them with some little bit of glue to make sure I have a long quilling fringed strip. You're gonna wait for this to dry. And once it's done, using my slotted tool, I'm going to start making a fringed coil. You're going to have to be careful to not break the paper. Once it's done, I'm going to remove it from the slotted tool. The back should look something like this. Just just pull it a little bit from the bottom. Tight with some glue. I'm going to stick it like that. We're going to apply some glue to the bottom of this piece. And using this tool, I'm going to shape it. Ideally, you would want to wait until the glue is semi dry. I was a little impatent here. You're going to apply some more gluing back. And we're gonna set it aside to dry to make the base of this flower. And we're going to cut a small circle out of this piece of card, which is just a little bit over the size of the coil we just made. For comparison. It is just a little over the size of this coil. And we're going to apply a generous amount of glue on the piece. And once that's done, we're going to start sticking our petal. On this side. You can choose to stick them in whichever order you would like. I like to go with the opposite is first. The advantage here is that you can move the petals around while the glue is still half dry. So you can choose to make any changes. And once that's done, you're going to let it dry. Now using our hands, we just going to slightly open this piece, make sure it's dry before you do this. And once done opening the fringes. It should look something like this. Now I'm going to apply some glue to the center. And I'm going to stick this yellow piece. And that's about it. Your Daisy is ready. I personally like this very much. This is one of my favorites and it's very easy to make. I hope you really enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you for watching.
5. Sunflower : Hello there. Welcome back. In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to make a sunflower using quilling people. I'm going to start by gluing two yellow colored cooling strips together. I'm using a five millimeter wide strip here. And the reason I'm doing this is because my quilling strips are too small, you can choose to skip this step if you have longer quilling strips. I'm going to let this dry for a while. And then from one end, using this tool, I am quilling to make a coil, I'm going to insert the quilling tool and start turning it like that. Once I reach the end of the paper, we should to remove it, set it on a flat surface, and let it unravel itself like that. And now I'm going to just adjust the size to my liking. And I'm using my fingers. And we're going to shape it into an S shape like this. Here's a close-up of how to make it into an S-shape. Once that's done, you're going to secure the end with some glue. And this becomes one of our petals. Now, I have made about 12 or 13 of these petals. You can choose to make as many as you wish. For the base, I'm going to cut a small circle from this piece of card. I'm going to draw a rough circle here. And using my scissors and cut it. And this will become the base of a flower. Once that's done, I'm going to cut a small slit. Just like that. I'm going to bend it like this to make a cup. This is going to give the illusion of three-dimensional real flower. Now using some gonna start sticking all the patents. At around the edge of this cup. I'm using glue that dries clear. Make sure you use that as well. Now since the glue is not completely dry, you can move the petals around flower to adjust it to your liking. now, it looks something like this. Don't worry about the center. We're going to add a different center to it. To make the center. I'm taking this brown quilling paper of different shades to just give it that little bit of interest. This is of ten millimeter width. And now we're going to start cutting fringes in them. Just like how I'm doing here. we're going to continue cutting fringes to out the length of the brown paper. And once done, you should get something like this. And I'm going to start with the Darker shade using my tool, just slowly turning the fringed quilling paper. And to the end. And sticking my lighter brown, Now, the darker brown, one on top of the other. To kind of give it that layer effect. I suggest you to be careful here because the fringes tend to break really easily. Once it's done, I'm going to cut off that little bit of extra I have. And I'm going to glue the end. It's include just like this. And now we'll remove it from the slotted tool carefully. And this is what the top should look like. I'm going to add some glue to the bottom. So it's secured and holds its shape. And then we're going to stick it. Just like that. I'm going to set it out to dry a little. And now we're going to open the center, after its dry. After opening the fringes. You should get something like this. And that's it. You're sunflower is ready. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you for watching.
6. Daffodils : Hello everyone, welcome back. In this video, I'm going to show you how to make a daffodil using cooling paper. I'm going to start off by gluing, DO five millimeter in yellow colored cooling strips together. Because my cooling steps are small. You can choose to skip this step if you have longer cooling strips. We're going to let this dry. And using this law did tool. I'm going to start making a coil. And just like that. And once it's done, I remove it from a slotted tool. Please it on my table. And let it unwind with just a little help here. And once that's done, I'm going to bring it to the size I desire and pinch it on both sides to give it the shape of an eye. The end with some glue. Like that. I'm going to let this dry. Similarly, I'm going to make another coil using the same process as we did before. But instead of making this true shape of an eye, I'm going to bend it such that I get a crescent shape like this. Now I'm going to secure the end with some glue and set it aside. To make one by T, you're going to need one big yellow eyes. Those smaller eye shape of a slightly darker shade. And four of these crescent shapes. And to work willing strips that I am going to stick together. And now we're going to start assembling the petty. I'm starting off by taking the bigger eyes sheep, going to apply some glue on both sides, just like that. And I'm going to stick the darker ships on each side. After this, we're going to stick darkness and shapes on the top like that. And do more at the bottom. And we're gonna set it aside to dry a little. Just reshaping the pedophilia like that. And once it's dry, I'm gonna take my ghrelin strip and go all around it to make sure I have a secured Petit. I'm shaping this assay goal. Since this is mostly people, it is easier to sheep and manipulate. So feel free to do that very week. Do you think it's unnecessary? Tightening it up here a little bit. And once it's done, we're going to secure the NBA to glue. I had made six paintings that look just like this. And now I'm going to apply some clear glue on dog just to make sure that all the ships hold that position and don't tend to loosen up on the way. For the base of our flower. I'm going to cut a small soccer out of a piece of a card. I'm going to pipe a small slit in the middle. And using some blue. I'm going to make it into the shape of a smaller cup. Just like I'm doing it here. We're going to bend it to make a small cop. We're going to set it aside to dry. And once that's done, we can start sticking out petals. We're going to stick them in layers. For the first layer it will have three by this, please, evenly. And we're going to stick the other three on top of this. Using the stool to just hold the flour. Once it's dry, you're going to add some glue and add our second layered on top of that. And pinching the bedrooms in the bottom a little. Just to give them a different shape. You might need to hold it down a little bit for it to dry in. Once it's done, all died up, it should look something like this. Now to meet the same dot, I have used a darker shade of yellow and made something of a shape like this. Using some tweezers and my hands. I'm going to start shaping this by pinching it on the science. Just like I'm doing here. To make the center of this scaffolded. I'm going to pinch it on six sides like this. And wanted to done, it should look something like this. Now we're going to stick this piece, the sender of a flower. Let us, I did decide to dry and mandatory dried. It should look something like this. In that set I defiled, elicit ready. I hope you really enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you for watching.
7. Hibiscus : Hi everyone, welcome back. In this video, I'm going to show you how to make a high viscous out of quilling paper. We're going to start by taking the red color quilling paper and using my slotted tool. I'm going to start making a nice coil. Remove the coil from this tool. Please, it on a flat surface. Let it unravel. And then I'm pinching it on one side to give it this petal shape, which is glue the side. Like that. It will set this aside to dry You're going to need six of this shape. I'm going to take a darker shade of red quillng paper and cut it into half because I require a smaller size of quilling strip. Now, using my slotted tool, I'm going to start making a coil from one end. Once I'm done, I'm going to remove it from the slot to place it on a flat surface. And now I'm going to pinch it on two sides to give it the shape of an eye. I'm going to secure the end with some glue. You're going to need three of these for each petal. And now we're going to start making the petal to make the petal and taking a piece of themocol or Cork board. And some things. I'm going to start off with the big petal here. I'm going to secure it with the pin. And we're going to add the smaller pieces. One on the right and one on the left of this petal. I'm going to use some glue. Stick these shapes. Make sure you're pinning these pieces as you go along. So the hold the shape and dry accordingly. The advantage of paper is that. You can bend it however you'd like. So it is quite easy to make the shapes. Once you're done with all the pieces, it should look something like this. And it's all nicely pinned down. They're going to let it dry. You will need to make four more petals just like that. And these are the pelals for our hibiscus. Now to make the center, I'm using some red quilling paper. And I'm going to make a simple petal, just like the one we did in the beginning. I made a tight coil. Now I'm going to remove it, place it on a flat surface, let it unravel and pinch it on one side. Like this. Once I am done shaping it, it should look something like this. And we're going to glue decide. And now we're going to add another piece of paper over this one. let it aside We're going to focus on making this a longer so that it becomes the center of the hibiscus. After using three quilling strips. We're going to get something like this. And now to make sure it holds, I'm going to add some glue ready when needed. And I'm going to pin this down on my piece of thermocol Now to give it some extra effect, I'm using yellow color paper and cutting it into half and just making tiny coils using my quilling tool. Like this one here. We're just going to tighten it up and glue the end. Like that. I'm going to make six mode of these. To make the base of the flower and taking this round piece of card and cutting a small slit, they'd do it. I'm going to apply some glue and bended laid this to, give it the shape of a cup. And this gives the 3D effect for our flower. After it's dried. I'm going to apply a generous amount of glue on this base. And you're going to start sticking our petals. Makes sure that petals are spread out evenly. You might need to hold these down for awhile while they're drying. And once it's all dry, it should look something like this. The same day should look something like this one so dried. And now we're going to stick this yellow coils on each side. Now we are going to stick the center to our flower. Make sure the hibiscus is entirely dry before doing this and done sticking the center and your hibiscus is very, I hope you really enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you for watching.
8. Final Thoughts: We have now reached The End of the class after making six quilling flowers. I hope you all found this class inspiring, and I hope to see more of your creations. Thank you so much for taking this class. See you soon.
