1. Welcome!: Unlock the full potential of your artwork with this Procreate quick tips class. In this short class, we will learn how to easily digitize your artwork and remove backgrounds using Procreate. Whether you are a traditional artist looking to bring your creations into the digital world or a digital illustrator aiming to clean up your designs, this class will guide you step by step through the process. By the end, you will have the skills to create high quality, transparent background images, perfect for prints, digital portfolios or online shops. If you're new to Procreate, I would highly recommend you watch my class, the power of Procreate, which is a perfect place for a big nurse to get started. 2. Digitise Artwork: We will start by clicking a picture of our artwork. So I'm using my phone to click the picture. I'm trying to frame it in such a way that I get the maximum amount of space occupied by the artwork. Then I'm sending this to my iPad, where I have Procreate to help me remove the background for this artwork. So in Procreate, I import this image into my canvas, and then I go to use and saturations through adjustments. Here, I will adjust the brightness to make it a little brighter and the white of the background to be a bit brighter, and I'll increase the saturation of the artwork. Next I'm going to go to the selection tool and make sure it's on automatic and select the background. When I select the background, I see, some of the fin gets added to the selection, so I'm reducing the intensity of the selection tool by moving my finger towards the left. Now I'll swipe three fingers and do cut and paste. This will create a new layer with the background, the white background. So I'm going to delete that layer. Now we are just left with the fish and some of the background to see it more clearly, I'll change the canvas background to black. Now, you can see that some of the background is left. I'll repeat this process, and this time I'll select the fish. This could be the first thing that you do as well, but I prefer removing most of the background and then selecting the main subject. Next, I'm repeating this process to remove all the background till I'm left with only the fish. Now I'm going to go to the eraser tool, select Studio Pen, which I love for erasing, and I'm going to refine the edges of this artwork and small areas which did not get selected with the selection tool. This is a very therapeutic process. So please do this and enjoy yourself while you're watching something on TV, perhaps. It doesn't take too much time. Once it's ready, I've used this artwork on my website. I've done this before for other artworks as well like this bird, as well as this bee. I hope you enjoyed this class. I would love to see what you have created. So do post your projects in the project gallery.
