1. Burnout Prevention - Intro & Outcome: Welcome to prevent burnout in under 30 minutes. This class is for freelance artists and illustrators juggling clients and endless socials. By the end, you'll have a personalized anti burnout calendar and daily Ritual checklist. It's practical pause and work along. Your class project is to share your filled calendar. To kick off, let's start by looking at what burnout is and what causes it. 2. What Is Burnout & What Causes It: Before we map your drains, let's understand burnout. Burnout isn't just tiredness, it's emotional exhaustion, cynicism about your work, and feeling ineffective. For creatives, it shows up as dreading your sketchbook, resenting clients or scrolling instead of making art. What causes it? The main triggers overwork without breaks, endless gigs with no recharge time, lack of boundaries, emails at midnight, socials 247, loss of joy, doing client work that doesn't spark you or comparing yourself to trending artists. Examples, saying yes to every commission, then burning weekends catching up. Death scrolling Instagram instead of resting, skipping nature walks because there's no time. Pause and write. Which trigger hits hardest for you? Circle it. Now let's map your specific drains. 3. Map Energy Drains: This lesson, we are going to find your burnout triggers. Get your notebook ready. We are going to be working with two prompts that will help you identify what drains your energy. Prompt one, list three daily habits that drain you. For example, checking Emas first thing, endless Instagram scrolls or late night client revisions. From two, node time wasters. For example, that's scrolling on TikTok or saying yes to every gig. Pause and write lists. First, list all that you can think of. Then circuit three that you feel are your biggest drains. 4. Build Boundaries: Set your boundaries, set no socials and time block routes. Here are two prompts that help you build out these blocks for a regular routine. Prompt one pick blocks. For example, no emails or socials nine to 11:00 A.M. For deep work on your projects or of social Sundays. Prompt two, add recharge slots. For example, 30 minute nature walk or weekly gallery visit. Pause and list four to five routes. 5. Craft Rituals: From the roots you listed in the previous lesson to start building rich words. For example, morning blog with no phone till after your coffee is done. Or to wrap up your day, take a walk with no screens or a weekly reset, for example, Sunday social detox. Choose three rich words and write. My daily ritual is 6. Build your Calendar + Course Project: Let's put it all together. Here is your calendar formula. Grab a calendar or draw one yourself into your notebook. You can also use the starting page and many calendar agendas. Monday to Saturday, fill in your time block and your ritual. Sunday. Is this your day off? Make it a full reset day. For example, Mondays, 9:00 A.M. No emails blog and Nature Walk. Sunday, socials off. Pause now and fill your weekly calendar. After you are done, read it out aloud. Once you're happy with your plan, share your calendar as this courses project. You can share a photo of your calendar and upload it in the project section of this course. B now that you have your schedule, let's make sure to remind yourself to start building a habit. Pin your calendar to a place that you see daily, for example, pin to your desk. Make sure to reuse it. That's the end of this short course. Thank you for listening. And here is to some detox time, less energy draining and more time to create. This short course is only one in a series.
