1. Particle Hair Grooming In blender Vol 1 Promo: Welcome to particle Hair Grooming In blender volume one. In this course will be taking a look on how to create particle hair in blender, as well as grooming and adding detail to the hair using very simple techniques that is easy to understand and follow along. Particle Hair is one of the notorious things to deal with in computer graphics world. But in this course will use formula based and easy to understand grooming principles that will help you to understand complicated tasks. Wether you be a complete beginner or an intermideate student. After following along with this course, you'll be able to start creating and grooming particle hair for your characters. Please take note that this course is a continuation of one of our courses, Modelling The Head in Blender Vol on one right here on Skillshare. My name is Fernando Adelino Williams and I will be your instructor for this course. I am really excited to have you in this course. Lets get started. 2. Creating particle hair: Okay guys, Welcome back to the cost. End of this lesson. We're going to be creating the hair with the Particle System right here in Blender. Alright, the Particle System is a little bit complicated to use, but I'm going to try to make it very, very simple so that you can understand how to use it. A list, select our head geometry here, alright, and I'm just going to come here to subdivision surface and I'm going to deactivate that. And the next thing that I want to do is I'm going to tip to get into edit mode, right? If we were to create hair, we need to define the polygons on which the hair geometry is going to grow. Then we're going to separate it from the selection. Alright, so with our face mode selected here, I'm just going to press C on the keyboard. I'm going to select some, just going to leave this line here, the eyebrows sitting here. So I'm just going to leave these polygons here and I'm just going to start right here, alright? And I'm just going to select a K, something like this. And I'm going to take this one as well. Alright? And I'm just going to come right here. Actually, I'm just going to deselect to the S1 and select this one. Alright, perfect limit ten round. Let me pray. See again in Please continue this selection process. Let's see how it looking here. Think we need to select some more. Alright, let's see. Let's see. I think, yeah, I think that's quite good. So we can leave this one here and we can take that one. I think this one, we need to deselect it off. Okay? Alright, so what I'm gonna do now I'm going to go Shift D on the keyboard to duplicate those polygons. And I'm going to press P on the keyboard to separate by selection. Alright, so we have these Head is 001 and I'm just going to call it I'm just kinda call it Hair Mish, alright. Hair and as Chrome mesh. And with that, I'm just going to come in here and add my subdivision surface there. Alright? The other thing that I want to do right here is that I want to hit Control a on that. And I'm just going to say freeze or transforms. And selecting the head, I just want to add my subdivision surface, Beck. Alright? Now you can see now that these geometries are sitting on top of each other. So what do we wanna do now is we wanna scale these Hair Michelle a little bit inside. So I'm going to press Tab to get into edit mode. And I'm just going to press a to select everything. And I'm just going to scale these in, just say hair, alright? Okay. Until the way we can see abnormal, alright, if I can go shifts it, you can be able to see that that Hair meshes just sitting inside there. Alright, perfect. So with this hair mixed selected, what I'm gonna do now is I'm kinda come right here to this thing that looks like, well like a USB cable. I'm going to come to this thing right here, just below this panel for the modifiers here. Alright, so this is the Particle System right here in Blender, alright, to create the hair from this Hair Particle thing, you just need to click this Plus button. Alright? And when you do that, you can see now that the hair is actually coming from one side. Alright, it might be because we still have our mirror modifier standard, but let's just tended to Hair. And you can see that the hair is coming from one side. Alright, so with this selected, I'm going to come here to the modifiers. And I'm just going to come here to mirror and I'm just going to apply. Alright. Then this way now you will be able to create the hair properly. Now, after doing that, you can see now that we got a whole lot of crazy things I've been in here. And this is because of the settings for this Hair Particle System. So I'm going to come back to the hair Particle System. And under hair, I'm not going to explain all the settings that we have here. I'm just going to explain the settings that we're going to be using. So we're good number here. So this number controls how many hairs you see right here. Okay? So if I put three for example, you can be able to see that we've got three. Hey, is there, alright, so let me keep it with three for now, we're going to come back. And the length controls how long it is gonna be. Alright, so that's it. And with the segments, this is actually the subdivisions that we have right here on the hair. If we enter into edit mode for this hair, you'll see that we've got five divisions. So these divisions will actually help you to ship this year. Alright, so let's keep it a default of five. Alright, I'm gonna jump all these other settings because I don't think they're important for now. And I'm going to come right here with children. If I come here to symbol, you can now see that each Hair Particle have produced the more hair is actually ten right here, because this is set as the display amount. So you can see we got ten here, ten here, ten here. So that's what basically the children is all about. Alright, I'm gonna keep it like this for now. And I want you to see another sitting called clumping While this clumping does is if we can push it all the way to one. You can see here now that this actually came to a point, and this is actually how hair behaves in real life. Alright? So I'm just going to put it to a 0.25. I don't want much clamping on the hair there and list, just go back to the emission settings. So I think we're going to go the default of 1,000 hairs, something like this. And you can see this is crazy. So on the hair length and this is our along the hair is gonna be, so I'm going to put it 0.1. We just wanted it to be 0.1 m. All right, then you can kinda see what we have there. And I'm gonna come down here to the children and I'm going to set it to end up on later it actually then you can see the hair mesh that we hear right here. Okay. And actually, I'm going to keep the children 10.2 on the Render Settings. I'm going to put them to 50. Alright, so let's go down. I think I'm a big to the children. Again, we want to come here to this guy called roughness. And I think there's something called random here. So this random, if you push it all the way, you can see that is just randomizing things. So we just want to add a little bit of randomness to this hair particles. So I think I'm gonna go with 0.01 on that. And this size, you can see if we can hold these, am not quite sure what these can do, but you can see that is doing something there. Alright. So I think on this size, Let's just put 0.5 and coming to the threshold. If the threshold is set to zero, you can see that we got more of the randomness there. If we can push it all the way to one, then we're just kind of getting rid of the randomness. I suppose that was this doing. Alright, I'm gonna put it at 0.6 probably, or something like this. Alright? And I just want to add a little bit of color to the solid we can be able to see properly. So coming to the materials tab, I'm just going to click right here and add a new material. And I'm just going to call it skin for now. Alright. I'm just going to choose something that can resemble skin a little bit. So I'm just going to press Tab to get into edit mode and press a to select everything. And I'm gonna hit Assign and coming to viewport display. I'm just going to change this. I think probably something like these could be good to go. And coming to the hair mesh, we wanna do the same. So I'm going to create a new material here and I'm going to call it Hair and as Chrome mesh. And I'm just going to turn this guy out a way of black. Alright, I wanted to be black. So this is what we have in terms of setting up our Hair Particle System. In the next lesson, we're going to start grooming the hair. I'm going to show you the way that I've found to wake best. Alright, I'll see you on the next lecture. 3. Measuring the emitter distance: Okay guys, Welcome back to the cost end before we can start grooming, I'm just going to come here to our Particle System. And I'm just going to rename these to Hair and as current mesh. For now, let's just activate these Hair mesh that we have right here. Okay, and if we can hit seven to go to the top view and press Shift Z to get into wireframe mode. Wanted to see something here. We've got this mesh right here, and this is the hair mesh. Alright, so I want you to see this line. You can see it's ending here. Actually, let's just come here to the modifiers and deactivate this subdivision there, alright, so that you can see a little bit more. And this one is actually the head geometry. So you can see that will get a triangle here. Let me deactivated subdivision surface as well. Alright? So if you can see here, this is the last line for the hair geometry, and this is the last line for the hair mesh. Alright? So what I'm gonna do is I'm going to press Shift a and less just it, probably a plane. And you can see is quite huge. So I'm going to scale it down and I'm going to move it up. Alright? Okay. And I'm just going to hit tab to enter into edit mode, okay? And I'm going to select the vertices here. And I'm just going to take these two, I'm just going to say a major center, take these two major send. Alright, so you can see now that we got a line sort of thing here. Then if I can zoom this now and move this down a little bit, and start snipping these. So you can see this is the line for the hair mesh geometry. In this the line for the head geometry, they may get out of edit mode for a second year. And I'm just gonna say object set origin to geometry. And I'm gonna push this down, alright, something like so. And I'm gonna hit tab to enter edit mode. Then I want to use my Snipping Tool. I'm going to activate my snipping tool is here and makes sure that edge is selected. Then with these, I'm going to select this lowest point here. Let me start with the highest point. I'm going to select it here or right. And I'm just going to snip it probably right there. Okay. And I'm going to come in here and tick the bottom point. And I'm just going to move it up here and I want to snip it to the line right here. So I'm going to snip it right here. Okay, Perfect. So just make sure that these things are snapping properly. Alright? Alright, perfect. Then I'm going to get out of edit mode and I'm just going to bring back the origin to the center there. And I'm just going to push it out of the way. Alright, let me just push it a little bit more. Okay, Then coming here now, you can see that the orientation is no quite right. And I'm going to flatten it into the Z by hitting S and Z and zero. Alright, perfect. Looking at this, if I can hit N to bring in my Properties panel. You can see now that we've got this distance here, if I can move these, you can see that things are moving. Alright? So what I wanna do is I one to deactivate these for now, you can see that this line is pointing in the Y axis. And I just want you to copy this by hitting Control C, alright? And then we can go ahead and place it X and delete that. Okay, So that actually helped us to measure the distance between those two geometries there. So coming back to the viewport shading, I'm just going to come in here and bring back our subdivision surface. And the same applies to these Hamish geometric. Ok, and now I'm going to come here to the Particle System and activate the hair mesh and click anywhere to deselect that. Alright. You just need to make sure that you come right here where we go to object mode and get into particle edit mode. Alright, you can see now that our hair Mitch is no longer the same. So what you need to do is you need to come right here where we got this thing like a span and a screwdriver. Alright? And you come to the options here and make sure that you click children, then you can see our Hair expec. And I just want to increase this tips here, 23 a little bit on the viewport display. Alright, perfect. If you can come here, you can see this thing written radius. This is the radius of the brush here. So this is called the brush. Alright? So that's the radius. If I increase this, you can see it gets bigger. I decrease, it becomes small. Or I saw adjust these as we awake. And if this trend is one, that means you will be Grooming more. If it's less than, you will be affecting lace this hair particles. Now coming here we've got this thing called deflected in meat. Alright? And what it does is that if this is unchecked, once we start combining all the hair, so disappear and get straight into the hair Mitch, that will create, alright. But we want to keep this on N T on the distance. That's where we want to, to pump that value. Now, let's say, for example, we say 10 m here. Alright? And I come in here, let me just reduce my brush size and I start copying the hair. You can see that it can't comp. The reason being that the emitter distance is actually way, way bigger than the value that we did put right here, which was 0.1 m. Alright? So you just need to make sure that you are just this, alright? So if you put it at zero, that means if we come, hair is going to lie flat with a Hair mesh that we created inside. Alright? But we want the hair to be actually ending up until this geometry here. So we know the distance between the hair mesh, which is the one inside where the hairs coming from. And this head geometry, we know the distance is that which we measured. So we're just going to come in here and hit Control V. And plug that distance there and hit Enter. Alright, so if we start combi now, the hair I will not sink inside this Head geometric. Alright, so that's one thing to bear in mind. 4. Grooming the hair : Okay guys, Welcome back to the cost. And in this lecture we're going to start grooming the characters hair. I'm going to explain these brushes is we use them. Alright, I'm gonna hit Enter to get rid of the properties panel that I need to make this brush probably 35 or so. And the strength, Let's make it 0.5, alright? Something like that. If you start brushing this hair, you don't want the brush to go inside like this. And if you do like this, then you're going to have a serious hard time to, to come this here. Alright? The way you can view here is totally different from how you're going to come this year in this computer graphics thing. I'm going to show you the best way that I found that truly the works. Alright, Make sure you keep your brush at a distance of a fade away from the tip of the hair particles. Alright, so somewhere there you go on like this. You don't want to be going in like this. This will not give you good results. Alright? The other thing is you don't comp on the center like this. You don't come in here instead of copying like these, Alright, you need to come on the tips. So you're actually dealing with a profile this here and T you get your desired look. Alright, so let's start being induce, see what we can come up with. So I'm going to hit one to go to our front view. Let me just bring in a reference image so that we can see how our Hair is designed here. Alright, so let's come here to the outliner and click here. And let's change these to be an image editor. Alright, and we're going to click Open and I'm just going to go to my reference images, and I'm just going to look for the Character models ****, alright, here we go. So this is the front, this one we are dealing with now, looking at this, you can see that the hair is flowing sideways, right? And even right here from the profile view, you can see that the hair is also flowing sideways like this. Let me just push this a little bit down, okay, so this is what we're going. Alright? So we want to start shipping these. And you can see right here on the middle, we got something like a deep there is not actually at the center, is on the sideway a little bit, but let's start copying this year, makes sure that your brushes note halfway, probably fed like so. And you'll want to start copying it. Alright, I am not releasing my my mouse button is a comp here. Alright, so I'm just coming. I'm turning everything. I want all these geometric to be hidden here. But I can do that at once. So I'm just going to do it slowly, right? So I'm just copying this hair, turning it and beginning with the tips, right? Perfect. Then I'm going to come to this side and I'm going to do the same thing. Ride something like this. Alright. I'm gonna come again. So you can see what we are doing right here. Alright? And I'm gonna keep going with this hair, your mid-30s. Alright? Alright. I'm gonna keep going until we got to decide. Look, right here, you can see now that we studying have to have a separation. So I can come in here now slowly with the tip of my brush. And I can start turning these and also turning this one to this other side. Then I can come in here now. And you can see that one these and other here they, that is no turning. So you just need to keep turning it like that. Alright? So we're gonna go slowly with it until we got that deep there. Alright, and I keep telling, alright, perfect. Let's come to this one. And I keep telling it. I think guys to need needed to be a little bit down. Okay. And let me just tendon here a little bit. Okay. So you can see that DP studying to be formed there. So if I can come here now you can see the Columbian that we did there. Alright, then we're gonna go to the side view by hitting three. We just want to do the same thing. Go with the tip, make sure you don't over deep your brush, okay? Alright. Alright, and when you get to the edges just ten, this thing, alright, we wanted to touch The Head geometry there. So we come from this side. Alright, perfect. Let's do it one more time. Right? And we keep brushing the hair. We keep brushing this here. And you want it to be smooth. Makes sure that you are actually getting the profile that you are looking for. Something like that. Alright, so we want to attack it as well down here. Alright. We keep going. We want to keep going here. We want to keep going. Right? So I'm showing you every stage here. Then after that, I'm going to ask you to complete it by yourself, right? And this week with that whole day, I think we can have it right here. You can use this brush is a great brush as well. We normally have this puff brush. So you can see if you pull it, you can be able to put geometric up, alright, with this brush. If you hold there and pull it up, you can do the very same thing. So I think we might as well go with our comp brush is for pulling the hair. Alright. And I'm just going to come in here and poor that a little bit and ten it. And continue copying this here. Alright. Let me computer a little bit some more. I don't want this character to have long hair. The reason being that this is this is a male character. I said boy, alright, so we don't want him to have long hair. Alright? So looking at this now, you can turn around and you can see the hair that you have and you may say, Oh goodness, this is not looking right, but believe me, this is where the way to go. Alright? So I'm just going to get this angle and I'm just going to go with a tip. Just like that. How easy is that? Alright. Alright, so just make sure that you are getting the tip of this Hair. Push it until you gotta decide look. So probably you might want to go for rounds with their head like this. Alright. Let's go like this, right? And I'm gonna keep turning the head. You could also do it on this side. Alright, so you could see right here that this here is just quite too much. You could come in here and ten this hair, like so. Alright. Alright. So you could actually do it on both sides. You'll come in here, ship it to something that you might consider, right, according to the profile view. Right? And you turn these and make sure you're not deploying to in, probably it fed it maximum of the angle. Alright? Then you come this side. You might do the very same thing. Alright? Here we might need to ship that. Looking at this side, you might need to ship that is well, okay. So this is just how it goes, right? Don't want to make sure that this here is coming down. Alright. Perfect. We don't want some here that it's gonna be sticking out on the face there. Alright, so let's continue. Doing that. You see is quite easy process. You just need to understand how he's done. And the ones you know how it's done, then it becomes easier. Alright. Okay. I'm just going to pour that Hair little bit back there to create a deep there. And I continue the very same thing. If very same thing. Alright, it's ten that and let's continue comping. Want to come in here and copy right here. You can see that we need to fix the sum mole, okay? Alright. Okay. So that's just how it goes. Continue doing this. Until you get something that he's more this higher level. You can see that some of the hair good, deep denote little bit. That's okay. Deal with that. As we go along. So let's just continue shipping. Where the hair is protruding much you might dip your brush a little bit more, but I don't encounter you to go home more than it fed. Alright? Okay. I'm gonna come in here and I'm gonna do the same thing. So this is a tedious process, but I'm just going through everything so that you might able to see this in real time. Well, it needs a lot of practice for you to do this. But believe me, if you we do what I'm teaching now, you'll be able to ship this here that way you want them to be. Okay if you continue model now you can see the head geometry that you gave, but you can see now that is to not quite right. And here you can see that some of the hair went into deep. So just make sure that you obtain your geometry through the site. Get the right angle and click and hold and pull it out. So you're just pulling those. He has a little bit out. Just go around and try to do that somewhere here as well. Just you just pull it. You are not brushing. As such, you just pulling those hair out. Alright, perfect. And coming here, you can see now that we need to pull out a little bit there. Alright? If you look right here in the front, you can see that the hair is standing here in the front here. Alright. But I think I'm just going to give it a little bit of style. I think I might go around and turn it like so. Alright. And instead of telling this geometry, this side, I think rather tin everything to go to the side. I keep rotating my model and I'm gonna keep turning these. Alright? And you can see here, we don't have a hair here. I'm just gonna put me in here and pull that out. Okay. I'm just going to pull that out to a little bit. Okay. Then I'm going to come in here and I'm just going to keep turning this hair geometry. Alright? The same applies here. I think we might want the hair to ten right here. So I'm just going to ten here. And I'm going to bring back some of these hair geometry you can see to us pushed more to the side. Alright, so I'm just going to bring it back and down if I can. So you can pull it down as well. Alright. Write something like that. You can see we got here as there. Alright, then watch you can do, now is you can come here to these Caesar CAN to, you know, the job of this is to cut. So let's try maybe I'll write in terms of a braille size. Then you can come in here and you can cut everything that is just on the EA. Alright? You'll want to cut this geometry right here. Behind the ear. Okay? Probably something like these for now. And coming in here you want to do the very same thing. Be careful when you cut also because sometimes if you cut it in angle, it might cut something on the other side. Now, I can come back to the brush. Alright, sometimes you might make it smaller, let's say 20. Okay? So you could come in here and tick the all of these Hair and push you to this side. So you click and grab it. Alright. You click and grab it to this side. Something like that. So click and grab it. Alright. Why do we are trying to do is we're trying to make a division there. We want all this geometry to be tamed. This other side, alright? And this one right here, we got this trend here. We want it to be ten to the other side. Alright, so with this now, you can come back now to 35. Okay? And you can now ten these right on the tip. Make sure you don't dip your brush. Okay, so it's this very same principle that we've been awaking with. So makes sure that you keep turning that he has. Alright. Something like this one went a little bit too much. So bring it back and and tenant, you might even straighten it. Alright? If the hair is not doing what you want, then you can style it again, alright? And you keep turning these Hair, keep turning it. Alright. Alright. And coming here you can see now that we don't have hair here, I think I did cut to my soul. If you want somewhere to go down here, what you can do is you can come here to your length, your length brush. Let's just reduce this probability to 35. Alright? And you can come maybe from this side and you can just start pulling these hairs. Alright? Something like that. Alright. So that's what you do with this length brush. If you're hair is quite short and you want to extend it, then you can come to your comp brush and you can start copying it back again. Alright? Something like this. Alright. Then if is too much, just come to your Caesar's and start cutting. I encourage you to cut things from this side like this because if you don't do that is going to affect things on the other side, alright? And continue working on this profile until it looks right. Alright, so as you in the next lesson, and I'm going to show you the hair that I come up with. And we're going to move on from there. 5. Detailing The Hair: Okay guys, Welcome back to the costs. And in this lecture we're going to be detailing our hair. Alright, so we want to take a little bit of control over this hair particles that we have right here. Alright, and I asked you do to detour hair a little bit. And I know that you hit some difficult times. And one of the difficult times that we're having right here in Blender is that if you convey here this side, the hair, the Beck is getting affected. Or if you combine this other side, the hair will get affected. So let me come to particle edit here. And you can see the emitter distance is to set there. So the emitter distance will actually help us so that they hair particles does not sing inside the hair geometry. And it also helps to give a little bit of volume to the hair. Alright, but at this point now I'm going to deactivate it because we want to try to make sure now that we come in here and close some of these gaps here. And I'm just going to come in here to our Particle System and I'm just going to reduce this display amount of ten. Then I'm going to click here. You can see that it's a little bit manager bona, because of the bug that we have in right here and blender with the hair particles. I've gone ahead and upgraded my blender. Now, if you come here to this Blender icon here and come to play screen, you can see now that I'm using 3.20 alpha is on the experimental stage. If you go to the blender website, you'll be able to get the, even though I have this Blender three-point tool with to have the very same problem waking with the particles here, here, especially the fact that when you compute this here in the front, it affects the hair, the back there. Alright, so much you need to do. You need to come out of this trend more deal age mode and come into this vertex mode. Alright? So you just need to make sure that you zoom in a little bit and you'll come to the end of that hair particle and point your mouse there. Alright, in press L annual coupon, alright, in that way you'll be able to select that strand there, alright, then coming to your comp, then you can be able to actually ship it now the way you want to ship it. So you can push it into position. Alright. So you're done with that. You'll press Alt and a on your keyboard, you'll be able to just deselect that. You can come to that strike there, press L, alright, and now you'll be able to ship it a little bit better if it is short, you come here to the length here. And you can just pull that down, right? Then you'll be able to adjust the length thing. Then you can start copying it. Alright, so that it can become the way that you want it to be. Alright? Okay, so you can compute like that TO come here from this side as well. And try to come this. So you need to look at this from all angles, right? And check how things are coming. Is you go along, alright. Let me just pull this back here. You need to rotate your model, okay? And see how things are coming together. They, if he's singing like EHS, whole press and hold and bring it out. You can bring it out there. Alright. So you just need to make sure that you are closing the gaps that we have there as well. Alright, perfect. So you got that one done. You press Alt and a on your keyboard to deselect that. Then you can come in here, you can see now that this hair strand is not going right. So come to the end of that Hair strand and press L. Actually this is not the hair strand that we want. We want I think this one here. So press L, then you'll be able to get it. Alright? Then you can come in here and you can position that this is how you have to go now, if this tangent time, okay? So just make sure that you do this, then you will be able to ship this the right way that Joanne, So tenure model. And you'll want to push this a little bit closer to the surface day. And you can see here now that some of these areas are out. So you can come in here now to this guy here, and you can box select that area there. Then you'll be able to get those hairs. Then you can press Control numpad players on your keyboard. Then you can be able to grow the selection. Then you can come here to your comp brush and you can come this a little bit better, okay? So try to push it closer to this surface there. Alright, and you come from these NCL, you'll want to try to make sure that you are shipping this. Alright? Well, then you can see now that we can start getting some detail old a to deselect that we're looking at this hair is in the frontier. We just need to make sure that you ship them as well. So you need to come in here, then you go to tenure model to a position like this, and you just need to come in here and select those vertices. Then you can see we've got other vertices that got selected, which were not intended to be selected. So if you press Control on your keyboard, then your box select, you will be able to deselect that can your model and check if nothing else selected. Alright, so this way all the elbow to help us to get detail a little bit. So hit Control NumPy to zero to grow the selection. Alright? And you can come in here now I think you want to straighten this hair a little bit. So just ten your model down a little bit like this, then make it straight to begin with. Alright? So you'll want this to be straight a little bit, then you can be able to style it now with Daytona. If you did tau a little bit and it looks okay, that's alright. Then you can go strand by strand until you get actually what you're going for. Alright, so we just need to make sure that these things are a little bit straight before we can start doing the shipping here. Alright? So with this now you can come in here now. And you can start shipping this. Alright? So you can come in here and start turning some of these hairs here. Alright, so you can just press and hold and pull it back. Okay. So if you hear us too long, you can just cut them off, alright? Then you can come from this side. And you can see things are looking crazy here. So you just need to come in here and start clumping this back, right? This way to be able to go up deck for sure because the emitter is deactivated there. Alright, so calm this here until it tasty. We should have kind of a cave until it goes down to the surface of the hair there. She right there that we need to bring it closer a little bit. Right? They need to bring it close. My computer is a little bit slow right now. So you can come in here and you can cut some of these, you can see is quite big. Alright? So you can come in and cut some of these. Alright? Then you can come in here and continue styling this. Alright. So this will actually give you a little bit of control actually over this Hair Particle System here. Alright, so come to the other side and continuous shipping these red. You can see this too much there. You can compete in a little bit. Alright? Perfect. Alright. Then you can come in here now from the bottom. And you want to try to compete down a little bit. Okay? Alright, then you can press a to deselect everything. Alright? So you can now come in here and try to calm everything from this side. So come in here in complex things here until they look right. Okay, come from the other side this well, and try to come, you can see those ones are actually we actually coming out. So you can see those hairs are out. You can just try to calm them in a little bit some. Then you can come in here and share be some more. Alright? So you just need to make sure that you do this. Now, at this stage. Now you can see now that the hair is getting close to what we will want. Alright, so what you need to do now is you need to come and select each and every strand here and ship it accordingly. All right, so probably you could come in here and maybe you'll get this trend in Shu, have over these press L. Alright. And you can see a little bit short. So you can come in here and try to make it along a little bit, probably a little bit longer. Alright. Then you can come in here from this side. You can come into position this way. You'll be able to get the detail that to one, alright. So you can position it coming from your side as well and see if we have that cave going down the rice. So you just want to make sure that you do such kind of things like this around. If you want to turn it more to the side, you can go more to the side, but I think I'm quite happy with this. Alright, so a to deselect that you can come in here and get probably this Hair strand here, press L, Alright, and let's make it along a little bit. So I'll make it longer. I'll make it along, alright, something like that. Then we can come in here instead convenient. So we just need to put it in a position whereby it will be able to close the other gifts that we have, the array. So I'm just going to push it closer to that Hair strand that I did ship there. Alright. To something like this. Okay. Now coming from this side, you can see this out. So you need to make sure that you push it inside. Press all the a, and you'll come to the next hair strand. So that's how it just goes. So Let's get this one here. Alright, and I'm going to push it out a little bit and let me increase the length here a bit. Alright, I think, I think that was quite too much. Alright? I think something like that. Alright. Then I'm going to come out, alright? Alright. Then I'm going to come in here and I am going to make sure that I bring this out a little bit somehow. Okay? Alright. And now we need to position it now. Okay. If it's sinking inside here, you can just come in here and pull it out. Right? So you can pull it out from this side, this, so that we can have that cave that we are looking for the right. Then you hit all the a on your keyboard. Then this way if you go like this, you'll be able to ship all these hair like this one. You can now turn it to the side. So you can just turn into this side there, alright? And you can pull it out some more. So you just need to make sure that you keep doing this and until you have all these Hair is coming the way that we want them to come in, this one as well. You need to make sure that to increase the length and you can push it to the side and you'll get the ship. It takes a little bit of time and effort. I'm just going to ship this without selecting those hairs. Alright? So I'm just going to push them close, is there. And when they are closed now, I can now come in now and go strand by strand. Alright? Okay. And you can see here that is a little bit sinking so you can just pull that one out a little bit. Okay. Pull it out and you can come in here. You can see that the hair singing this, so you can pull it out, alright, in coming to the bag, you just need to make sure that you come in here and select this hair is probably you want to do this at the end, the last stage, alright? Because the bag is quite simple to deal with. So Control plus to grow the selection. And let's hold Shift and select some of those hairs. They, right, so we want all those here. So the bank, let's just check if we don't have something else selected. Alright, like here we go. This here, hit Control and deselect those. Alright? Then when you come here to the back, take your brush to, and you can just try to tag them in a little bit and rotate your model and Zoom so that you can be able to see a little bit better, alright? Okay, come from all angles and you can try to, to tune those. Then you can press Alt a and come off of that. Alright, in here you can see we've got a gap there. So you just need to make sure that you check which strand is actually controlling the CSU. And you can see this trend is actually controlling that. So you can just try to bring it forward, all right, or to the other side so that you can be able to close the gap. If this Hair strand is short, then you know what to do. Just need to make sure that you add the lengthy and you'll be able to push it to the side. You can just come in here and increase the length there. Alright, then after you've done that, let's come back to the complex shear, right? Then you can come from this side now in, you can see now these things out. So you just need to make sure that you come from this side and you can do some tucking in, something like that. So you'll come to these points here. We will go this vertices here kind of thing. And you gotta make sure that you push it into position, alright? Then you can deselect that. So you just need to make sure that you do that. Even here where you see the hair is coming out to go to select those trends and calm them one-by-one and continuous shipping this year, if you feel like the sum here that is shot somewhere, like here, maybe you want to populate some hair a little bit. You just need to do is you'll come to your edX tool here and you need to make sure that this count is set probably to one, alright? And the keys is five. So the keys is the number of vertices that we might have on that hair strand. So if I can come in here and let's say I click here, alright, then come to my brush. If I tell my model, you'll be able to see that here. Stranded good editor there. So I'm going to press L on the keyboard to select that. Alright, and now I can come here and calm bit, probably to the side. Alright? So I'm going to get to the side like that. Alright? If I wanted to be a little bit longer, you know what to do, you just need to come in here, make it along a little bit. Then you can come in here and you can start coming this thing down. Alright, so complete until you get the desired look. If is sinking too much, you can pull it out, right? To something like that. You can go ahead and complete how you hair looks. But me, I'm just going to continue going. So that's it for me. I'll see you in the next lecture. 6. Hair Grooming final touches : Okay guys, Welcome back to the course and in this lecture we're going to be doing some final touches to our Hair Grooming, alright? And I'm just going to come right here to our Particle System. And I'm just going to change the display amount here and I'm going to put that. All right, then you can be able to have a preview of what we have right now. Okay. So I can turn around and you can kinda see the Grooming that I did there. And the other thing that I wanted to show you is if you can come right here to your little me, come here. If you can come here to your render properties here, alright. You can see we've got if here is a render engine, okay, so what you need to do is you need to come down a way. It's written hair here, alright, so you'll come down here and you change it from strand to strip. So you can see the difference here. You can see now that they were a lot of gaps here. But if you change it to strip, then you can see now that the flow of the hair is a little bit better, okay? The other thing that you can do also is you can come back to your Particle System. Alright? So I'm just going to come in here and I'm just going to look for, Let's see, Hair ship. Alright, so you get your hair shape here and you can see here this diameter root. So this is the diameter of the hair at the ends here. When you come here you can see this setting written diameter root, alright, is set to 1 m. So what you want to do is you want to reduce this, okay? So that the hair can be a little bit thinner on the outside here. Alright, so if you reduce it, let's say 2.5, you can see that it becomes thinner here, but we lose some hair as well in the process. So I'm just going to sit mind probably 2.8. Alright, it to something like this. Alright. And if you're hair becomes little, you can come back to the children. And probably you can add maybe 50, lets say, for example, okay. So with 50 hair, as you can see how the geometry's looking right now. Okay? So you might as well come back to your hair shape again. And to reduce it, probably they say 0.5. So I'm just going to leave it at 0.5 because we want the a is here to be a little bit, a little bit thin. Alright, so I'm going to leave it 0.5 or even 0.6. Let's try that, right? Because we don't want to have some gifts as well there. Let's try 0.75. 0.75. So I think that's quite looking good. Okay, So that's all we need to do in terms of Hair Grooming. I'll see you in the next lecture. 7.
