1. Intro to Mod 1: be making basis. Welcome to this music production Boot camp. Siri's four Beginners. My name is Joseph Evans, and I'm gonna be instruct you do this course now, the first module that you're in right now, we're going to cover how to build your own studio. All right, so all you have to do is enroll in the course I'll see on a decide and keep in mind. Also, they're six modules to this Siri's. So you're gonna wonder also enrolling all of those as well. All you gotta do is look in the class description or search for music production. Boot camp for beginners. All right, so without further ado, let's get it started. Peace. 2. Build Your Own Production Studio: be making basis in this lecture, we're gonna talk about building your own home studio. This could be a very rewarding process to seeing your studio going from point A to point Z . It's a very, very, very cool thing, and it really is gonna help you to take your beast of the next level. So the first thing I want to talk about his environment, we miss it kind of in the intro. But you have to create an environment that that that days basically makes you or forces you to want to produce music, and that's what it's all about. So when you're going to go get your equipment, also think about all other aesthetics that you continues. Okay, Now, there are five major pieces of equipment that you're gonna need now without saying right now, we are in a new wave of music creation, and everything is digital. Okay, so the first thing you're gonna need is a good, solid computer. It doesn't matter if it's a laptop or desktop ah, Mac or PC, but one thing you want to make sure is that it has at least 4 to 8 gigs of memory and at least I five processor. Now, be personally, I would recommend that you use a laptop, because that way you could be mobile. You go to different studios, different friends houses or other home studios or professional studios, etcetera. Okay, you also want to make sure that if you can afford it, get a Mac book or a Mac computer. The reason why? I mean, there is cool. I'm a mat guy. I'm not against PCs. But, you know, Maxie, cool. So it's all about your budget. The next piece of equipment that you're gonna need a course is your doll, your D A W. What does that stand for? That's your digital audio workstation. These are software programs like logic, like a Bolton like FL studio, like reason like machine. The list goes on. You want to make sure that you get a silent one and you could pretty much spend about $200 get everything that you need to produce quality music. So you want to invest in a good quality dog after you got your computer and your dog, the next thing you want to get is a digital audio interface. This piece of equipment is going to connect any external devices to your computer. So say, if you want to, you know, records of vocals or guitar riff or some base, or you know anything you know you're gonna need a digital audio workstation. I mean, digital audio interface to do that. Same thing. Also, which are many keyboards you're gonna need Usually. Sometimes you need to admit he that digital audio interface to connect your midi keyboard as well. All right, you can get a pretty good one for around $100. And if you have more money to spare, you can probably be much, you know, spend about anywhere from 100 to 2 to $1000 on a good digital audio interface. Now, another little piece of equipment that you definitely need is a za midi controller. We also we're going to stay like a midi keyboard. Okay, there's several ones that you can choose from. The ultimate thing is, get what would get what you like. Okay, there are a lot of great brands that you could choose from and everything, but if you spend about $100.200 dollars, you're gonna get some quality. Okay? Keep it in that range. Now, the last piece of equipment is you're definitely gonna need is some studio monitors. Okay, You want to basically make sure that you can hear the basis or lows and the highs? Okay. Don't get anything crappy if you can afford it. Spend about $300. Get you some K R k, some Yamaha's or some type of good, reputable brand, so you can hear your music. More than likely, you probably will be making music out of your home. You know, either your apartment or or a big room in your house, so you don't need to get the top of the line. Spend thousands and thousands of dollars on your monitors. Yet this start with something base, a base model. Okay, so those are the basic pieces equipment if you're gonna need or other extras and everything . But from here on out, what I want you to do is complete on exercise that have for you. Okay, there's a couple of pdf's. One is, you know, pretty much going through everything we talked about in more detail and also give you some extras that you can, you know, saying use and then also haven't exercise for you. Okay? Exercise is pretty simple. It's a pdf, and all you have to do is this. Fill it out. It's basically and get you in the dreaming mode of what you need to build your own studio. Okay, so check those pds out and I'll see you in elections to come. Thanks, piece. 3. Picking Your DAW: be making basis. All right, so in this lecture, where we're gonna cover is software. Once you get something that's professional, there's a lot of different professional grade programs out there. Once you get something on a professional level, it doesn't matter what software you use. I mean, you have pro tools, you have logic. You have garage, man, you have you no reason a lot of different programs and I'm gonna show you right here. I want I mean, I have actually GarageBand and logic, and I'm just going to show you the reason why I say it doesn't really matter once you get it on a professional level is because most of these programs are really, for the most part, the same. Let me go ahead and open up a garage being, and I want to show you, and it's this right away. This software program is what I'm going to be showing you how to make beefs in I'm not is not a tutorial program. There's there's not gonna be a tutorial aspect of this, but I'm gonna show you justice demonstrate different production techniques in this program . But it's only $5 in the APP store okay. The matter if you have Ah, Mac book. Okay. So if you don't have a Mac book, I'm sorry you can't get this program. But if you have a Mac computer, it's on Lee. $5. And you could pretty much make amazing beats. Um, in this Let me hold on my show. Your some I just wanted to let you just give a taste of what you could do in this program. I'm trying to tell you that once you improve your beat making skills, it does not matter what software you use. This is GarageBand is a $5 program, and I made this beat in garage men here. Okay, um, auto software programs. Pretty much you have certain things and going on with it. You can, you know, I'm saying you have sounds OK. You have a project window, and then you have an area where you can edit and mix. Okay, this is your project window. They have a place we can get sounds, and you have a place where you can mix and an add and edit. Okay, this is where you can makes an innocent where you can edit. All right, now, this Like I said, this is not a tutorial course. All right, This is a taught course on really giving you some basic fundamentals, but I wanted to go over there. So this this is what this is GarageBand and I want to show you now logic. And if you look at it, logic is really the same program. It looks almost exactly the same, right? Except for it does have a few extra goodies. Okay, Like I concolor cold the tracks, and I can do, you know, say you have more information that you could see right here. The mixing aspect of things is definitely better. You're saying so, Yeah, but I mean, but essentially, I could still make beats in a garage band, just like I could make him in logic. Logic is, this is a is a better program. Now, I'm not trying to just say that you just have to use logic or GarageBand. There are, you know, other software programs. They have a program called Able to live or able to that you know, a lot of people are on that they have, you know, it's really an endless amount, but, you know, so it's just about picking the one that you like and mastering that program. Okay, 4. Thank You!: be making basis. All right, so we made it to the end. Now, the first thing I want you to do is make sure you go ahead and complete that project and post the list of your studio in the class. I want to see that thing, and I know it's gonna help other students, so make sure you do that. Second, if you liked this video, Siri's go ahead and roll in all of the other modules. This is a complete beat making course and has six modules and it go ahead and go to the class description and role in all the other modules if you haven't already or search for music production. Boot camp four Beginners. All right, Thank you for washing again. I'll see you in module to
