Midjourney AI: Crafting Consistent Characters For Creative Professionals

1. Introduction to the Course: Hello everyone. Welcome to the course on how you can make use of mid journey to create consistent characters for your project. This is where we will be making use of Mid Journey, which is an EI tool using which you can create amazing images. And this particular tool shines the bright test for this particular use case. There is a lot that we are going to cover in this particular course. We'll begin this course by taking a look at what mid journey is, how you can set up your account, how you can create your first image with the help of mid journey. If you're not aware of what mid journey is, don't worry. I'll have you covered in this particular course. Then we will start talking about what is consistent character design? And we will actually start doing this hands on. We will actually learn the techniques using which you can create a character with different expressions, different poses. We will also learn how you can isolate these characters so that you can use them in your creative projects. We will also learn about some of the techniques that you should be aware when using mid journey to get consistent output. Which will be very helpful when you're dealing with consistent character design. Now like I said, this is a completely hands on course and I'll be showing you everything practically. This course will equip you with all the knowledge that you need to know for having consistent character design that you can use in things like visual communication with your audience or if you're doing a branding exercise and if you want to have consistent characters at different places, whether it's on website, mobile app, or social media. Let's get started. 2. Beginning Journey With Midjourney: Hello everybody. So let's start exploring what is Mid Journey? Here on Google, I'll search for mid journey. You will be shown this particular website, which is the first website in the search results. This is the official website for mid journey. I'm going to click on this particular link here, which is midjourney.com You'll be taken to this particular landing page over here. Now this is the official website of Mid Journey. What is mid journey? Mid journey is nothing but a generative AI software program, and it generates images. Now how does it generates images? These images are generated from natural language of the humans. To my journey, you have to give an input and this can be a description about the image that you want. For example, if I want an image of a cat besides a coffee table, you can give this as an input. You can specify different things and as much of details as you need in the image and mid journey will create an image for you based on your description. What are you doing here is you are giving input to this particular software program in natural language of humans. And this is the language in which we humans communicate. This is taken by mid journey and the output is I generated image. The input that you give is known as prompts. Here on the website, you can read more about Mid Journey and understand the team members and what it is. It's an independent research lab. Mid Journey is the name of the company and it is also the name of the software. You can go through this, okay, and you can understand the team and everything. You can also see over here like it's a very small team, it's 11 full time staff. Yeah, this is about mid journey. Now you can click on Showcase and check out different images that have been generated with this particular software. Okay, you can explore and this will give you a gist about the ability of this particular software. Okay? So you will know what ability this software has. All right? Yeah, you can do some exploration over here. Now, here on this page, I'm going to hit Sin, Okay? Now, the moment you hit sign in, you will notice that you are being redirected to another website, which is Discord.com This is a separate app which is being used by mid journey to function. Now what is Discord? I have a tab open over here called Discord.com Discord.com is a place where you can create communities. It's like a chatting application, okay? And you have different communities that you can join. You can do one to one chats, or you can do community chatting also. This is essentially a instant messaging tool with some social abilities. Okay, so here on Discord, you have Discord servers that you can create. Okay, so we'll take a look at this one shortly. So you will be redirected to Discord.com if you click Sign In on Mid Journey. And if you don't have an account like a Discord account, you can create an account by hitting register. Or if you have an account, you can login to Discord. Okay, so I'm just going to create an account, a new account, because I want to show you the fresh onboarding as well. I'll fill in this information and I'll continue. Now, once you have signed in or signed up, whichever way you choose, in the earliest step, you will be shown this particular page over here, which is an authorization page. So, like I said, Mid Journey operates with the help of Discord, and Discord is a separate application. Now, within Discords, you have a concept of bots. So you can have bots and you can add different bots to your chat and you can work with them. Mid Journey is a bot that exists on Discord. So it's asking me that an external application, mid journey board, wants to access my account and I'm giving access to all this information, which is fine. So I'll say authorize. So just click Authorize over here, Judge. Okay. So you might get an error if you don't have a verified Discord account. Okay. So I'm just going to go to my e mail. So since I've just created the account, this account is not yet verified. So I'll just verify this account by going to my e mail and just hitting the verified link. Okay, so I've verified my e mail. So I'm going to hit dismiss and I'm going to sign in again into mid journey. Okay, I'll just go through the process again because my e mail was not verified and it failed. So yeah, I'm just authorizing it again. And you will see the home page, like so. And you will see a side bar on the left hand side and an option to purchase a plan on the right hand side over here. Now here you have a link, Join the Discord to start creating. To generate an image, you will have to join the Discord channel. Now if you click on this link over here, like Join the Discord, to start creating, you will be given an invite to the Mid Journey Discord channel. Okay? And you can see there are quite a few members here. I'll accept the invite. It will take me to the actual mid journey, actual mid journey server. Okay? So you can see over here, the official server for mid journey. All right, here you're going to see everything that is happening here on the home. You can see like everything that has been happening across different channels. You have different channels over here. Okay. If you're a beginner, you have to go to this Newbies channel here. You are going to see what images like everybody is creating, okay? You can see like they've given this as a prompt. You can see this is the output that they're getting here. Okay? You can see this is the image that is being generated by someone. You can just play around with what is happening in the world of mid journey. Okay, yeah, this is about discord and how you can set up your discord account to get started with mid journey. Okay, here you're going to see all of this chat and new prompts are coming every now and then. This is very active. And you have one more Newbies room as well here. You can see over here, these are all the other images that have been generated by users around the world. 3. Options With Midjourney: So let us try doing something in this particular channel. What we are going to do is we are going to try writing a prompt. I'm going to say in the message box here, I'm going to say, I'm going to say this is the prompt that you need to use, or this is the command I should say, forward slash imagine. Here you're going to see this change into a text box thing with this word prompt. Now here you need to write in the description of your image that you wish to create. Let's say I enter, astronaut going to space. Okay, And I just hit Enter. Now when I hit enter, you will see a message that terms and conditions have not been accepted by you. So I need to accept the terms of service. Or you can go to this particular link and read more about the same. I'll just accept this. Okay. So you see a message over here that due to extreme demand, we can't provide a free trial Right now, I'm not a subscribed user with this particular account. Okay. Mid Journey offers a free trial, but right now as I'm recording this video, they are not giving free trial because of the extreme demand they have. What we need to do is we need to subscribe. You can enter this command, Subscribe. I'll have to say subscribe. You'll say Enter. You will see a link to go to the subscription. Here you can see open the page below to pick your plan and subscribe. You can click on this and it is going to show you a pop up that you're leaving Discord. Okay. I'll say Visit. It's asking me for some verification. I'll be taken to midjourney.com So this is one way of going to the payment page. Alternatively, what you can do is within your mid journey account, within the login here you have an option to purchase a plan. So you can even click on this. So the moment you click on that, you are going to be shown the subscription page. Over here, you can see different subscription options here. Like the Basic Plan, you have Standard Plan and the Pro Plan, and this is yearly billing. You can have monthly billing two. Okay. And here you can see how it works. So here you have limited generations, like around 200 a month. Here you have general commercial terms, you have access to member gallery, and you have three concurrent fast jobs. And also in the standard plan, you have 15 hours of fast generation. So you are being billed as to how many hours of fast generation you're using. So if you cross 15 hours, it is going to generate images a little slow. All right. So this is how the plan works. So you can subscribe to any of the plans. You can subscribe to $110 basic plan as well, but it should be fine. And if you have a free trial or if mid journey is offering free trial, when you're watching this video, it's well and good. You can even use the free trial motions. So free trial is enough to learn about mid journey. So this is about the plans and subscriptions that mid journey has to offer us. 4. Your Own Discord And First Image: We have signed up for the Discord account. You have this Mid Journey server open. You have joined this Mid Journey server. Now here you can interact. Okay? You can start typing in the command in order to generate an image, you have to say forward slash like. So you're going to see different options here, Okay? Forward slash, you can say imagine, and you can specify your description over here. This way you can generate the image over here. But the thing is, we won't be generating image this way here in this Newbies channel. There is a lot of noise. Everybody is generating their own images over here. Okay. So there are lots of images that are being generated. Instead, what I would recommend is you should create your own server and get the bot added to that particular server. And you should work over there there. You will have your own images only. And not a noise like you can see over here. There are different images that are coming from the entire world. If you do that, if you add the to your own server, okay, you will only see what images you are generating and not the image from everyone else. Here on the left hand side, you can see this plus icon on the left hand side bar. You can say add a server. I'll just say add a server. And it'll show me some options here. I'll say create my own. I'll say for me and my friends I'll say Fs server. Okay. You can give whatever name you want. I'll just hit Create. The server is created. Now you will have this general channel appear over here. Okay, now what I would recommend you, you should go to the Mid Journey channel. You should click on Mid Journey part over here. We need to add this board to our server. Now the moment you click on the Mid journey board here, you're going to see this option here, Add to the server. You can say, Add to server, Ask for some authorization. And it will also give you a drop down which will show the list of servers that you have. I'll select the server that I have created here. Okay. And I'll say continue. It is going to ask me for the access and I'm going to authorize. It's asking me for some verification whether I'm a human, which is fine. I'll verify. I'll go to my Discord server here, you can see the mid journey bout has been added to my server. This is how you can set up your own server and add the Mid Journey bot to that particular server here. Now you will only have you working on mid journey. If you want some inspiration and you want to see what others are doing, you can of course switch over here to this particular channel over here or server, and you can see what's happening around the world. All right, we'll switch back to our own server and that's how you can get the pot rolling. What we are going to do is we have head over to the server that we have created. And here I have a channel where I'm going to write a prompt. I'm going to say slash, imagine. Let's say I wish to generate an image of a cat that is peeping outside the window. I'll say a cat peeping outside window. I'll just hit into this will take a little bit of time to generate the image. You can see the progress also over here you can see it's generated 15% and it'll take some time to finish the generation for this image. Here, here. Now you can see the image generation is complete. And if you click on this, you can see the image that Journey has generated. You have different variations of cat peeping out of a window. Okay, now if you take a look at the output over here, you will see some buttons, which is U1u 234, and this one is V1v 23 and V four. What does this mean? Here we have images that are numbered. This is the first image, we have second image, this is a third one, and this is the fourth one. U one means upscale one. Like the upscale first image, one means generate a variation of the image. One, we have these four buttons to upscale any of these four images if you like V1v 23 and V four are to generate the variations of any of the images that you have over here. If I want to upscale, let's say three, I can click on this. Then you have a button over here which is a refreshed button or red button. If you click on that button, it will regenerate. The image. It will just send that command again. Now you will have the command go in again and you'll see the image generation happening again. The image generation is done now, and you can see it generated a different image right now. Whichever image you like. Let's say I like from the previous option, I like the third one, I can say three. What it will do is it will upscale this image over here with the best quality, okay? And you can see here, you can vary this, okay? You have some options here. You can zoom out to zoom out 1.5 x. Or you can have a custom zoom set in. Okay? You can write, click on this and or you can just click on this and you can save the image like this. Or alternatively, what I would recommend is you open this in browser. It opens the full image in the browser, and you can see the level of details that it has given you. You have this glass which looks a bit foggy. There are some few drops of water. You have very nice details of the cat. Okay, So you can save the image from here and save it onto your computer for future usage. So this is how you can generate the first set of image using mid journey. So let us also explore these options here. Okay, so we have very strong and very subtle. If you wish to generate a variation of this image with some strong elements to be varied, you can use the very strong. Or if you want the variation to be subtle, you can use this option. Okay? If you click on this like I clicked on very strong, I got this as an output, okay? You can see the option applied was variation strong. And you can see this image, there was a little bit of variation that was applied. So you can see the glass change. Here, you can see the reflection, okay. Here you see everything is forked out and not that clear. Outside. Here you can see some marks on the glass. There are some changes also to the cat. Okay? You can see some differences in like the fur style and all this is vari, strong. Now if you say zoom out, you can even zoom out over here from the image. So you can zoom out two x, 1.5 x. Or you can specify a custom zoom over here. Okay? If you click on custom zoom, you will be shown like what zoom level you want, okay? I did a zoom out 1.5 x and I got this result over here. That same image was zoomed out 1.5 x, you can see over here. Okay, Then the third option that we had is pan out. So you have pan out left, right up and down. So I clicked on pan out up, and if I scroll down, you will see like over here, the image panned up a little bit. Okay. You can see over here now you didn't see much of a difference over here, so this was the original image here, so you can see the difference of this image here. Okay, so these are the different options that you can play around with after you have upscaled an image. Okay, so that's how you can work with image creation with Mid Journey. 5. What Are Consistent Characters and Why Need Them?: Hey, they're welcome back. Let us begin talking about consistent characters and understand why do we need consistent characters and what are they. Let us first understand what do consistent characters mean. Consistent character images are images where we have visual representations of characters that have a consistent appearance in terms of style and all the features that the character would have, but the expression and the poses would differ. Okay, this is what consistent characters mean. To create consistent characters. With the help of AI, you can generate the images with the help of some good prompting. All right, now let me give you an example about what I mean by consistent characters. Here on the screen, you will see a character which is consistent across all the images and the expressions vary. Here you can see like different poses. This is pose one, pose two expressions are also varying. Okay? You can generate more images like these, maintaining the consistency of the character. You can see over here, this is smiling. The smile is really broad here, the smile is not that broad. And the smile actually is completely missing over here. Okay, She appears to be smiling a bit. The smile is not that broad. This is pharma broad with the hand is okay. This image is not generated properly. If you see the hand is looking weird over here. Okay? But if you do smitrations in prompting, you will get a better image than this. Also, the legs are not proper. I would say this last one is not that proper. This one is a different image, this one is a different image, and so on. Okay? And you can see like there are different images that I have created and I have not iterated much on this, but you get an idea of how consistent character works. Okay? Now the question is, why would you want to get such an image where there is consistency in terms of characters? Now, there could be several use cases and several requirements as to why you need to do this. Some of the examples that I can think of is creating a comic book. If you're creating a comic series and if you want your readers to follow a journey of a character, then you might need a character and you might need to have a different variation of the same character. Another use case that I can think of is creating a video game or having a animated film. Okay, these are all the examples where you might need a consistent characters. In today's world, you can take help of EI to get these generated for you. Now if you are writing a book or if you are a brand, then to consistent characters are important for you. Okay. If you are a brand then usually brand a thing called mascot where they are doing a commercial. Or if they have a website where you're doing some branding. Then in that case they will make use of that mascot on their website or in the branding video or commercials, and they would use that particular image in different forms. Okay. If you use different mascots for your brand images or for your branding website, then the customers might get confused. So it's really important you maintain a consistency there as well. All right, so these are some things that I wanted to highlight about consistent characters. And we would be learning how we can create these characters, iterate on them, get better results to use them in our work. All right, that's about consistent characters. 6. Getting Characters With Midjourney: Hey there. Now it's time that we begin creating the characters with Journey. Here I'm on my discord and I have a new channel created where I'm going to work on the characters. Here I have an text editor where I have something already written. This is the formula for the prompt that we can use with Journey to get a character sheet. Now what is a character sheet? Character sheet is a sheet with different poses and expressions of a particular character. You can use the character sheet and you can take it further with your character development. What I'm going to do is I'm going to make use of this formula over here. This is a formula that are generally used to generate characters. I'll copy this and I'll duplicate it over here. And I'll create a prompt over here. You can say character sheet with multiple poses and expressions. You can specify the character description. I can say expression for beautiful. I'll say beautiful girl with blond hair. And you can specify more description, like what kind of ice you want. So I can say green eyes and red jacket. You can specify style as well. I can say Pixar styles. I can say in Pixar style, this is something that I have written. What I will do is I'll copy over here. I'll switch over to mid journey. I'll say forward slash imagine. I'll paste in the prompt over here, I'll say Enter. At the moment you say Enter, mid journey will begin working on the images. It'll take some time. We'll wait for a while. As you can see, I have an output over here. I can click on this and you can take a look at what mid journey has to give you. You can even open it in browser and you will have a zoomed in version of this. You can see this is a character that we have in different poses and different expressions. Okay, I should say I like this one over here. Okay. This one is pretty good. This one is also pretty decent. Both ones on the right hand side is something that I liked over here. This is what mid journey has to offer us. If you're not happy with the results, you can tweak in the description over here and you can get even more results. I can copy this and I can also say, imagine here instead of blond hair, I can make it like black hair. And I can say over here, okay, while mid journey is generating this image, I'll also show you how you can get the image in different aspect ratio. Here you can say imagine, well put in the same prompt. At the end, you can put in an option, you can say hyphen two times like so here you can say R. R means aspect ratio and you can say 16 colon nine. This is the aspect ratio that I'm looking for. Instead of R, you can even say aspect something like this. Okay, I'll just say enter over here and let us see what mid journey has to give us. But as you can see here, the previous prompt that we had given to mid journey, it is completed. The prompt. I can open this in browser over here. As you can see over here, just take a look. This is the character sheet that it has given us. Okay? You can see this one is pretty good, okay? It has images with full length. This one is also pretty decent, okay? Results are good, and it will depend on what input you're giving. Now, in this particular image, you can see the hand is not proper. It's coming in from the back, okay? Which is not right over here here. The ear is slightly weird. You will see some weird things in the images here, you will see something weird. So that is okay. You can absolutely upscale the image and you can work more on this. This one has the hand missing. There will be some minor issues, but you need to work on the iteration and get the perfect results. Okay, this is about character sheet and how you can generate. Now if you scrawl down over here, this is the problem that we had given with a aspect ratio, as you can see over here. If you open this in the browser, you're going to see the images being created in a different aspect ratio, okay? The results have been good. So you can see here like this sheet is pretty good. Okay? If you like this result over here. Okay, this one for example. I'll just go back to discord here. Let's say I like V four. But the problem is with V four is the head and everything is getting cut. In that case, what you can do is you can upscale this four. I'll upscale this one. Okay. It will give me an upscale version of the fourth image. Now thing is a lot of things are being cut here from the head. From the head. A lot of things are being cut. What you can do is you can ask mid journey to sue out a bit. Okay, this thing is being cut. If you see at the top head head and all what I will do is I'll say zoom out 1.5 x. What mid journey will do is it will give me a zoomed out version of the same image, which will make sure that the cutout portion in the image is taken care of. Okay, You can see over here, it just zoomed out of this image. It's generating the image. It's right now at 15% But right now, even at 15% you can make out like it's not cutting now because we zoomed out by 15% Also, you can play with the prompt if you're not happy with the result. This is something that I already mentioned, but we'll wait for this to complete. The image generation is done and if you like zoom in this one, you should see that the results are better. Now, earlier the head was getting cut. Now the head is not getting cut. This is a frequent problem where in mid journey will give you a zoomed in version of the image. If you see the previous image here, this is pretty zoomed in. Everything is being cut from the top. Sometimes it will be cut from sideways, but top is more frequent in my experience, what I have seen over here. If you like a particular character sheet, then the probability is it will be cut. And then you can zoom out and get it fixed. For example, this character sheet. This is also zoomed in if I get an upscale version of U Three over here, okay, If you scroll down, you should see this one is getting cut two at the top. If I have to isolate the characters like I will have all the images without heads, which is not good. I can ask mid journey that, hey, just zoom out this image, it'll just zoom out and generate a better one. Now here in this example, you can see the heads are not being cut and it's pretty decent output that we have got, right. It has tried to modify the image as well. That's why it has given four variations here. Here it has given two full character sets. Okay, which is good. Now if you come here, it is still in the process. We'll wait for this one to complete. The image generation is complete. Now you can see here it has zoomed out the image for reference. If you take a look at the previous image, it had the heads cut out. This one is definitely better. Okay, if you want to save this or this one, the earlier one, what you can do is you can get any of the versions and just save it. This one we had four variations. This one also gave us like four variations. So let's take a look at this one here. You can see this last one is pretty better. Last one is what I like. These ones are good. Okay, Also one thing here, the legs are being cut. You can experiment with the prompt and tell my journey to give a full length image. Let me try that as well. What I can do is I'll play around with the same prompt. Okay, I'll say, imagine I'll paste in the prompt. And I'll say in Jacket. Let us type in full, and let us say Full Body in Pixar style. I'll just press Enter and let us see what the output looks like. You might have to experiment with a few words and tweak the prompt pit to get the right result. But we're not sure what this particular thing will give us. Beca clearly specified, I need full body from head to toe. It seems like it's giving. Here you can see these images. Let's hold on for a bit and let it completely generate. You can see these images are far more better. Okay? I would say better because the legs are being cut out in the bottom line over here, the second line in the image that her legs are being cut out. But if you are liking any character set, what you can do is you can select that one and zoom out. Zoom out will give you the full length, unlike this one. If you see this one over here, okay, This was being feeded over here and that was a problem. Okay? In this image, it is being cut out from the bottom. If I, let's say, let me see which one is better. Let's say this one, fourth one. Or if I like this one, this one is also good. Let's take the fourth one. I also upscale the third one. Okay? We'll wait for the upscaling job of both. Okay, both are done pretty quickly. What I can do is I can zoom out this one here. I can even zoom out this one here. Zooming out both will make sure the cutout heads and the cutout legs will be fixed for me. I'll wait for a while. I did zoom out for both these images. The results I've got is, this is one image, the zoomed out version, as you can see, the other image that I've got is also this one. This one still has the leg cut out, but if you take a look at the previous one, this one is far more better. Okay. What you can do is you can finalize any one of these. I'll be finalizing the first one here out of this image. I can say upscale the first one and get the upscale version of the first one. I again, use that character sheet for whatever work we are willing to do. Of course, there are some issues still with the image like you can see here. You have the third hand. The hand is not proper. The hand is not proper. The sand is not proper, but it's a decent style to begin with. Okay, this is about character sheets and how you can create character sheets based on a description. And these character sheets can be developed further for whatever creative work you are doing. 7. Character Isolation and Getting Them Ready To Use: Now what we have done so far is we have finalized on a character sheet. This is a sheet that I have. I can open it in browser. What I would recommend is you can open it in browser right click, and save it at a place on your desktop. What I've done is I've right clicked and save the image on my machine. And you can see this folder where I have the image. I can click on this image and I can open it this way. I have this now on my desktop. Now, as a next step, what we need to do is we need to start isolating the characters. We have 123456 around 1011 characters we have. We need to isolate them into individual ones. For that, what we'll be doing is we would be going to Google. We need to search for a couple of tools. One tool that you need is background remover for an image. The other tool you will need is a cropping tool. I'm going to search for image background remover. Here you can see you have quite a few options as you can see on Google. Another search result that you can do is image cropping tool. You can use any image cropping tool on your system as well, or you can use an online tool. I'm going to show you how you can use an online tool here on Google. You can see there are quite a few tools that you get. A lot of them are free. You don't need to pay for it. I'll go to this first tool. I love image. I'm going to add the image that I have just downloaded. Okay, I can just drop the image over here. Like once you drop, you are going to see this image being loaded. What you can do is you can drop it this way. Okay? And I'll just frame it this way. It's cropped and you can see crop image. Now the image is cropped and you can now download the cropped image. I can see download, and I can see one. And save it over here. Okay, Now the moment you save it, you come over here. And if you open the finder, or if you open the Windows Explorer, if you're Windows, you can see the image being saved, like so. This is a cropped version of the image here. Okay, Now what I need to do is I need to do the same process for all the images, All right? What I need to do is I need to say, select the image. And I need to get the image again. And I need to get it cropped, I have the image loaded again. What I'm going to do is I'm going to repeat the same process that you see for all the images. Okay, I'm going to crop all of them. Like. All right, so I have all the ten images that have been cropped now. And I can open it over here and you can take a look at all the images. Okay, here you can see everything has been cropped properly, and you have ten images, around ten characters. We need to do is we need to get rid of the background of all the images. All right, for that we need to head over to Google, and here you will have quite a few tools that you are going to see over here. I'm going to select removal. This is a tool that allows you to remove the background image for free. I can start selecting every image that I have. This is the first image that I selected the image. All right, this is what I had to mention. Isolating character is really important because you have the character with a background on mid turning. It's really important that you go through this process and get the image in its isolated form. We have done this for all the images. You can even upscale the image, which is optional. If you feel that the quality is low or you need to upscale the image, you can absolutely use upscale media to upscale your images using AI. 8. Creating More Characters: Hey there. Now let's begin to the next step. We have a set of characters that we have created with the help of mid journey, and these are all isolated from the character sheet. Now as a next step, what we need to do is we need to create more characters using the same features. Okay, what we're going to do is over here, let's say we have this character with a smiling face. I need the same person or the same character, an angry face, and how would I do that? Okay, depending on what sort of use I'm going to do with this. For example, if I'm using these characters for a comic book, let's say there is a scene where this character is angry or worried. I would need this character in that expression. Okay. Or using that expression. How would I do that? In order to do that, you need to get back to mid journey here, I'll get back to mid journey here. We need to start giving mid journey prompts. Now, what prompts you will give and how will mid journey generate images using these expressions? That is something that I'm going to show you. First, we need to tell mid journey that these are our characters that we have finalized. How do we do that? We need to upload all these images. I'll say double click. I'll select all the characters here. One to ten. I'll open all of them. You'll see all the characters come in over here. First, I'll upload all of them to Discode. Now this might take some time depending on your Internet connectivity, but for me, it was quick. Once you upload, you will see images coming in different sizes. This first one looks bigger, but actually it's not bigger. If you click on this, it's of the same size because that is how it is shown in the preview chat. Now what we need to do is we need to get the link for all these images. I can open this image in the new tab. I'll get the link for this image. I'll just remove this end part over here after ten final Png, I'll copy this link and I'll paste it somewhere in the text editor. Okay, now why are we getting these links for the images that we have uploaded onto Discord? The reason is we will be using these as references to create prompts to mid journey and this is something that I'm going to show you in a bit. We got the link for this first image. And the description is here. I'm just going to remove this first part because we don't need a character sheet with multiple poses and expression. Instead, let's see, I need worried expression. What I've done is I've pasted the modified prompt along with all the reference images. And I'll give this as an input to mid journey. Now prompt is gone. Now you can see you have four options. We had asked for a worded expression. This one is good. The third one, if I open it in browser, let's see the zoomed inversion. So you can see here at the top, these are okay. If you come down, these two are good. I would say the last one, like the third one and the fourth one. The fourth one is even more worried, you can choose the one that you want. But as you can see, look at the consistency. We had given ten images as an input or as a reference point for mid journey. It has generated the image in consistent manner. It has not changed the features or anything of the girl, but it has just modified the expression, which is amazing right now. This way you can generate character of any expression, right? You can give any expression to this character. You can upscale like this one. The third one if you're looking for a less worried phase or you can get a upscale version of this one if you're looking for a more worried phase. And let's try with one more. What I would do is I would like copy this entire thing. Or I can, instead of worried, I'll say angry expression, right? I can copy this entire thing over here. It's best to use Notepad or any other text editor like I'm using. It makes your life much more easier. I'll just say imagine over here and pet. Now we'll wait for the output of this prompt here. Okay, this should also give us some good results. Now you can see over here like the generation is complete. You can expand this open this in browser and semen. You should see this is angry. This one looks angry. This is slightly angry. If you like scrawl down here, this one is okay. And this one is far more angry, okay? You can see the results that you got. The output that you will get from mid journey would be completely unrelated to the images in which you're looking for. You're looking for something in continuity of this character. But if you skip the reference images in the prompt, you'll get something completely different and absolutely different, like you won't be able to use it in continuation. That is something that you're supposed to keep in mind. You can see now this result that I got is far more better than the previous one. So this one looks much more better. This is a bit more angry. This one is, this one does not look much. This one is even more. The last one, we've got a few expressions and we've learned how we can generate the character with different expressions in the same continuity with the previous character that we had. Okay, we have used the same features, same girl, but the expression changes. This is a power of journey and EI which can help you with your image generation. 9. Using Prefer Option Set: So I wanted to show you a option which is called a preferred option set using this option. If you're using something like a part of the prompt again and again, you can just set it as a custom parameter that you can add to your prompt. Now let me explain what I mean over here here. When creating the images or when getting a character set, this part of the prompt is fixed. What we have to do is we have to copy it again and again and add it to the prompt. Right? If I have to generate a happy expression, I'll have to copy the link as well and give it as a part of the prompt. What I can do is I can ask my journey to have these links set as a custom parameter. I can come over here option you can see over here Prefer option set. Okay, here it will ask you for the option name. What is the option name over here? The option name can be anything that you wish to give. Let us say my option name is list, I'll say or image list. Then you can see over here, you have one more option plus one more. You can click on this and you'll see this option value. I'll select Value, and I'll paste the image links over here, these are all the links. Okay, The name is image list and the value is the link of the images. And I can give this as an enter. You will see custom option image list set to this. Now let me show you how you can make use of this or how this can make your life easier. I'll come over here and I'll change the prompt to a laughing expression. I'll just copy the prompt here. I'll come over here, I'll say prefer. Since we're giving the prompt, I'll say, imagine I list. This is the name of the custom parameter or the option that we have created here. I'll paste in prompt, I'll say Enter. Now the moment you say Enter, you will see the custom image list is now being replaced with the list of images you can. What happened is when you pressed Enter, image list was substituted by its value that we had set over here. This makes our life really easy because we don't have to remember pasting the list of images. If you have a long message that is always a part of the prompt, you can set it as a custom parameter and then you can make use of it to accelerate your work. This is a very handy option and it's called option set. Okay. I'll also give you the link to the mid journey documentation over here. If you search for preferred option set, mid journey, you will get this particular link over here and you can say Prefer Option. And here's the link, you can see Prefer option set. This is a documentation where it talks about how can you set this. Okay, You can refer to this, but I've already shown you how you can make use of this. You can see the output here. We needed laughing expression or a happy expression. Last one is best. This one is also good. This first one is also good. This way you can make use of prefer option set. 10. Vary and Subtle: So now let's talk about variations. Here I have an image that I received as an output, and I have got the laughing expression over here. All right, now let's say if I liked or the third version. Let's say I'll upscale the third version. Okay, this is for upscaling three. Alternatively you have V1v 23 and V four using which you can generate the variations of the image. Let's say if I want to generate the variations of the third image, I can say V three over here. What this will do, you see this will generate the variation over here. It'll take some time. But you can see the prompt making variations for image number three. Okay? This one is far more subtle. Now you can see it's far more subtle than the original one. This one is far more red. I would say this one is. Okay. All right, and if you take a look at the original image, let us take a look at what we had originally. I'll open this in browser, see this. This is like very red. I didn't like this, but this one is far more okay. Cheeks are far more red, I would say. All right. But you get a sense of what you can do here. This one is good. It is far more lighter, right? If you like an image, but you dislike small part of the image, in that case, you can use vary by region. 11. Using Seed For Consistency: Let me talk a bit about the seed number in mid journey. Every image that you generate in mid journey has a seed number that can be used. Let me talk about that. Let's say I gave this a prompt. Let's say I say, imagine, okay, and I say Fox holding a lamp. And I want Pixar style like so. Okay, so this is going to give me an image of a fox that is holding a lamp. Okay? And we'll wait for the image to be generated and we'll see how we can make use of seed number. You can see here I have an image of a cute little fox holding a lamp. Okay, now let's say I want the same style of the first image. I want a image of a fox that is holding a torch. Okay, What I will say is, I'll say imagine, and I'll say fox holding a torch and not lamp. We'll wait for the output of this one. We have the output of the fox holding a torch. Another thing is these two images are really distinct. Okay? This one is neither close to this one, but let us say, if I want to pick up this fox image, and if I want to get this fox only and the same image, but the lamp should be replaced by the torch, How would I do that? Let's say I want running pose for a beautiful girl, so I'll change this to a running pose. Okay, And I'll copy this entire thing along with the reference images. And I'll come over here and I'll say imagine. And I'll paste everything. Now we'll wait for the output. But the thought is we should have the same girl in the running pose and we will be able to use it. Now what I can do more is let's say if I want to show this lady or this girl on a running pose and I want to show it in the middle of the street or in a village area or something like that. I can say over here, imagine scenery, scenic place, and I can say mountains around and wooden parts. Let's say I wish to get this image in the aspect ratio of 1629. So I have just zoomed out this one and upscale the second version out of these four, Okay, this is a final image or the final character that I'm finalizing. The background is something that we can ignore for now because we'll be working on this, but for now, this is the final image that we have with us. Okay. I also played a bit with the background, if you scrawl up here, we had generated a background. This one, the scenic place, is something that we had generated. I requested for the first version, like the variation of version first, the image first take a look at this one, looks pretty good to me. Or if you have some other preference, you can absolutely get variations of that. Or you can simply upscale if you like any one of these. You don't need to pay anything. It provides you with some amazing abilities. Now, here at the top right, I'll say create a design. But you have a lot of templates also to choose from. If you wish to use images in a presentation, you have a template for that. And you can play around with a lot of templates over here. If you wish to have an Instagram post, you have a template for that. If you wish to use these a generated images on a post, a flyer, a document, you can absolutely do that. But I'll say create a design here. I'll say custom size over here. All right, I'll say presentation 16 by nine. This is the option that I got. I would be happy selecting this option here. I selected the presentation, and it has opened this thing for me. Now you can either select the presentation or whichever size you want to. If you go to Home over here, and I need to close this. Now here you have a lot of options. Like I said, you can select any of them. You can even select presentation from here, 16 by nine, which has the dimension of 1920 by one TP. I'll come back to our presentation now here you can go to Upload. First of all, you have a lot of templates here, but we won't be using that. You can place this particular character anywhere you want and you can experiment with your scene this way. You have really good options to make or use your characters that you have created in Nana is just an example that I have shown. You can make use of any other tool as well if you wish to. Okay, so you can show this girl really close, she's running like this or here. So it depends on what you're trying to do. You can keep her in the center as well and show that she's running somewhere or she's coming by. All right, like this, we have created a scene and the scene can be used anywhere. Like you can use it in your books. If you're writing a comic book or something, you can use it over there or any of your art work. The possibilities are really endless and you can use the same character in different scenes that you create using AI. And the AI tool that we use for this is mid journey. All right, this has been really helpful and it's amazing that with the help of EI, this is what we could create ourselves. So that's about using the characters that you create with the help of EI. 13. Now with mid journey, I would highly encourage you to experiment with different prompts and try creating different kinds of characters for your own project.
