1. Short Form Shoppable Videos, Oh My!: Okay. Be honest, no judgment, but when was the last
time you purchased something off of the Internet
because of a video you saw? If you're anything
like me, it was probably today, or at
least sometime this week. In the world of
marketing, videos are at an all time high. And creating shoppable
videos is a way that all of us can get
it on the phone whether you've got your own product
to market or you're just really enthusiastic about the products
that you love. My name is Mary Lou Mantle. I am a full time content creator and longtime internet shopper. One of my main income
streams is through shoppable videos on platforms
like Amazon and Flip, as well as Tiktok,
Instagram, and Facebook. They're also one of my favorite types of videos to make. It's
really so much fun. I get to share products that I enjoy and they're
pretty easy to make. Once you get a system
down in this class, you will learn what a
shoppable product video is and why you should be making them along with different types
of product videos that you can make right now. And don't worry,
I have plenty of filming and editing tips
coming your way. I got you. For our class project, you will create your own
shoppable product video. And you can post it
wherever is right for you. If you can't tell. I am super excited to go
on this journey with you because it really is one of my favorite types
of videos to make. And anyone can do it for real, for real, for real,
even you. You got this.
2. Class Project: For our class project,
you'll create at least one shoppable
product video based on the styles that we
will discuss in this class, you can choose to make
an explainer video, an unboxing video, a how to
video, or a testimonial. And you can do it in
one of these styles, talking head demonstration
or product showcase. Don't worry, I'm going to
have lots of examples for you had to choose
one for you to do. I would love it if you would do a Talking Head testimonial on a product that you already
love and if you're feeling spicy and want
to do more, do it. I chose this as our class project because it's
going to give you a hands on experience on the entire process of
making a video like this. Because there are some
things that you're just not going to learn until
you actually do it. When I was getting
started, I was often worried about the
camera quality, my hair, my face, this, that whatever, I was worried
about the wrong things. With time, I realized
that all that people really want to know is should
I get this thing or not? And that realization made
the video not about me, but about getting this
information about products to the consumers
in the easiest, most efficient and fun way that I can do it. And you're
going to do it too. The first thing that
you're going to do is choose a product that
you already love. It's so much easier
to make a video about something you love
versus something you hate. The next thing is to prepare
your talking points. Make a couple notes
about the product. Features, things that you like about the product
or how to use it. Think about them,
write them down. And then I want
you to film it in the simplest way
possible for you. Which might mean sitting in a
studio with all the lights, the cameras, this to that. Or it might mean
getting your phone, propping it up against a window, and talking. That's simple. It doesn't need to
be complicated. Please don't make
it complicated. The video can be
vertical or landscape, but it needs to be
60 seconds or less. Here's what you're
going to need space for footage because sometimes
people forget to check that. I can't tell you
how many times I would record something
and they're like, oh, you don't have
space, you'll need somewhere clean and not
distracting to film. It could be a studio, it
could be a blank wall, it could be just a clean room. A really great place to
do this is in your car. And you can edit this video in any video editing
program that you want. Now if you're just getting started and you're
like, oh my God, editing, I don't know
what that means, I suggest that you use Cap Cut. It has really good
free options for PCs, for Max, for iphones, Androids. You'll be able to do what we
need to in this class with the free version at the
time of recording this. And if that still sounds
intimidating to you, I have another class here
on skill share on how to edit on cap cut for absolute
beginners to go watch that. Once you edit your video, you're going to post
it to the class. In our class projects, you're
going to have to upload to Youtube or Tiktok somewhere
where you can get a link. And then you're
going to post that link in the project section. Then we can all take a look at it and I can give you feedback. Now wherever you're watching, take a second to look
around you and see if there's any products
that you would love to share with people. Find that product that
you love and think about how you would
tell your bestie that they definitely need this in their life and most importantly,
have some fun with it. This is supposed to
be fun, honestly. It should just be fun. Now onto the first lesson. Okay?
3. Uploading Your Class Project: To do a quick video
update on how to submit your class project. Because I didn't realize this, that you have to use a link
in order to upload it. Otherwise, me and other students are not going to be able
to see your project. In order to give you any
feedback on the class page, you're going to go over
to submit project, which will take
you to this page. And you're going to
have to add a link. You can add a project title,
a project description. Now because our
project is a video, you're going to have to
upload it to Youtube or Vimeo or somewhere where you can upload a video
and share a link. And upload it and
share the link. So I've uploaded my video to Youtube and we're going
to go over here to share, so I can copy the link. We will copy that
and I will bring it over here and paste
it into the project. I'm going to add the link into the project description
just in case. Then I'll add a little title. And when all of that is done, you're going to press Publish. Now I can see that my project is included here with
your class projects. There is no place to
click on the link that was added through
the link button, but I can copy and paste the link that you put
in the description. So if your project
doesn't have that, I haven't been able
to see your project. So please go in
there and edit it. And then copy and
paste a link so I can take a look at it and give you some feedback and
support your work again. Thank you so much for
taking the class.
4. What is a Product Video?: First things first, what even is a shoppable
product video? Well, as you might have
guessed, it's video, but specifically
about a product. And hopefully with the
goal to sell the product. Depending on where
you're putting this, it might be shoppable in the way that as someone
is watching it, they can click on a link to the product and buy it right then, which
is what you want. In this course, we are
specifically making a short form shoppable
product video. And I think of this in a
couple of different ways. So you might have
the product video, which is a video
about the product. Then this may be
positive or negative. Maybe you like the
product, maybe you don't, but it is a video
about a product. Then there's shoppable videos. These are videos
that have the link attached to it that you can
actually purchase from. These can also be negative or positive, but like if
the link is there, hopefully you're talking about
stuff you actually like, so people will buy it. And then there's UGC, which is user generated content. I consider these something different because there kind of is a whole
different art to this. But a lot of what you're
going to learn in this course you can
utilize with UGC. In mine, in my personal opinion, they
are not the same thing. Ugc is basically a commercial that a company pays a
creator to make for them. So while these might end
up as shoppable videos, they might end up
as product videos. I personally believe there's a whole other game to
that in this course. I just want to get you
to making the videos, the whole UGC of it,
That's for another day. Why are we making them short? Why under 60 seconds? The types of videos
that I'm going to teach you to make
are specifically geared towards short form
platforms like Tiktok, like Instagram reels,
Youtube shorts, principles of the videos
we're going to make. You can also do those
in long form if you wanted to vertical
or landscape. This is personal
preference for you. But also think about where you're going to put this video. If the platform is a
vertical video platform, then make it in vertical. If it's a landscape
video platform, then shoot it in landscape. You do have the option
of shooting your video in a way that is landscape, But you could crop it
in to be vertical, which just has everything to do with how wide your shot is. Because if it's not wide enough, your face is going
to be real close. While making your
shoppable product videos, I want you to keep
this goal in mind. Be the solution. Be the video that
someone sees that makes them decide that they're
going to make the purchase. Be the one that answers the question that they
were on the fence about. And they're like, maybe I
would, maybe I wouldn't. But you come along, you
show them your video, and they're like,
oh my gosh, yes. That's exactly what
I needed to see. I'm buying this right now. Authenticity is so important. I want to know when
I'm watching videos, people's real opinions of it. You can make a video saying all these wonderful things about a product and
not believe it. And the audience
is going to know, mean audiences
like me will know. I'll be like, no,
that's not real. Please, I don't
trust this creator. And what you want to do is
to build trust as a creator, with your audience when you're making your
recommendations. Which means you don't always have to make
everything positive. It could be a mix of
positive and negative. You don't necessarily need to go bash everything on the Internet. Like if there's
something that I hate, I probably just won't
make the video. But there is the trend
of de influencing. That's a whole other
thing. We're I gonna get into that by
being authentic. I mean, you give
your real opinion. You don't have to talk like
you're in a commercial. You don't have to do
anything in any certain way. We just want to see
how you as a person, as the creator that
we love to watch, uses this product,
likes this product, dislikes this product,
give us the pros and cons because you
can sell things. I mean, like I like
this and this and this, this part. It's okay. Or I'm not so crazy about
but there still are all these other good things. There's tons of ways
you can do this. Just be honest with me,
okay? It is what I'm saying. And with these product videos, you want to be
informative and engaging. And for me, engaging
just means entertaining. But that doesn't mean you
need to be cracking jokes all the time if you are not
that type of creator. If that is not your personality, informative and engaging. So the viewers want to watch, they can get their information, and then they can make
the purchase decision. You want to be concise. You want to get to the point.
I personally do this by showing as often as I can the thing that they're
looking for right away. There's like the question
or the fun thing about this product that
I want to know about. I will show that right
at the beginning. And then get into the talking or the demonstration
or the unboxing. Because people want to know. They want to see
there's a thing, there's a thing that
they want to know like, have you ever looked up
a video about lipstick? 5 minutes into it, then
they put on the lipstick. I's like, no, just show me at the beginning what it
looks like on you. And then we can talk about
all the other stuff. But I want to see this thing. Show me the thing
right at the top. That's a good way to be concise. Another thing I like to do, if there isn't like a thing
to show at the beginning, that's the thing that
they're looking for, is to put something funny,
something eye catching, something that's
like a little weird, a little scroll stopping, something that makes
somebody say, what's that? What is that? I need that, do I need that? I need that. And remember with great influence comes
great responsibility. If you're out there and you
recommend something that is not good but
somebody buys it, now they're at home with this
product that isn't good. You are now associated with this product that is not good. You're not a trustworthy
recommender. You're not a trustworthy
video maker person that said stuff on the Internet. You don't want to do that.
You want to be trustworthy. Be responsible with
your recommendations. And no, it is not
just the product, it is also you. It matters.
5. Types of Product Videos: Now let's talk about some
types of product videos. There's so many ways
that you can do this, but I'm going to break
it down into four that I happen to
use pretty often. We've got the explainer video, the unboxing video, the how to video,
and the testimonial. You can make these
types of videos on pretty much any product. So I'll demonstrate
with the hair clip and explainer video is talking
about what is the product. This is a hair clip. It's used to clip hair. Especially good if
you have long hair. Then there's an unboxing, depending on what
packaging it comes in. It could be a very
detailed video or it might be very simple. These hair clips come in a pack of two,
that's kind of it. We'll go with this pence
because there's a package. This is the multicolor pen
pack from Marylos desk. It has a case with it and it comes with all of
these different colors. And you can take them out,
you put them back in, and when you're
ready to store them, you just snap it, set like that. Then there's the how to
video. Back to the clip. In order to use this clip, you want to pull back your hair, you're going to do
a little twist. And then you will clip
it just like Matt. And then when you're
ready to take it out, you just unclip it
and then you're free. Then there's the testimonial. I like these clips because
they hold my hair really well. I will say that the gold
is fading a little bit, but I don't have so
much of a problem with that because that
part is near my head, but it does have a really
good spring to it. I like this a lot to recap and explainer video This is
what the product is. Boxing is this is the
packaging that the product comes in and this is
everything that it comes with. How is this is how to use the product or ways to use the product and
the testimonial is, this is what I think
about the product. Of course, you can do a
couple of these in one video. You can do them all in
one really big video. The world is yours. The key is just that with
these types of videos, they all give some kind of information to the consumer
about the product, which is what we're here to do.
6. Styles of Product Videos: Now let's get into the three easy ways you can make a shopp
able product video. That was dramatic.
Here's three ways you can make a product video. Of course, again, there are
so many ways you can do this, but these are the three styles that I find to be
the most effective, efficient, and I use a lot. We're going to talk about
the Talking Head video, which is a tell
them kind of video. There's a demonstration video, which is a teach
them kind of video. And we'll talk about
a product showcase, which is an inform
them kind of video. A talking head video is like
what we're doing here. It's a head that is talking, this is you on camera, talking about the thing
that you want to showcase. A demonstration video
can have you in it. Or maybe it's just your hands, or maybe it's just the products. But the key here is that you are demonstrating the
product in action. You are teaching
someone how this actually works in real life
as opposed to fake life. Because that's kind of
a thing now, right? So maybe you would, depending we're not
getting into that. And then there's a
product showcase, which is where you inform
them about the products. So you might just be showing without your face the
different features of a product that you find
are important or are the key elements of that
product. And here's the key, remember what we talked
about in the last video, the explainer video,
the unboxing video, how to in the testimonial. You can do any of these in the three styles that
we just covered, the Talking Head, the demonstration and
the product showcase. There's some links in our class description that
will bring you to different examples of what I'm talking about
in these video. The title will say if it's a
Talking Head explainer or if it's a product showcase
unboxing, lots of examples.
7. Before You Start: Now that you know
these different types of videos
that you can make, these different styles
videos that you can make, I know you are just
full of so many ideas, but Gizmo told me to tell
you this before you start. This may seem like
an extra step, but outline what it is you want to say so you can make
sure you keep it concise. And I still use
outlines all the time. I'm using an outline
for this video. The key is narrowing down what info you were looking for when you were
shopping for this product. Like, was there something
that you're like, I wish I knew this
or there's something specific that made the
buying decision for you. What was it that you
would have loved to know about this product
and tell us about it? And then narrow that down
to your top three points. We have less than 60 seconds, so we got to get to it. So does give me the good stuff. And think about who
you're talking to. What is the audience that
you as a creator target? But also what is the
audience that would purchase this product?
Is it your best friend? Is it your boss? Is it your cat? Think about
who you're talking to. It'll make a difference. And we're going to
edit the video, So don't worry about trying to get everything in one take. Don't worry about messing up. Please do mess up. Try it a lot. Try some
different things. This is not a one take and
that's it kind of situation. But I'm not saying you might
not get there some day. But in this class
we're going to edit. Always remember that your videos do not have to look
like anyone else's. They don't have to
look like my examples. They don't have to
look like what you've already seen on the Internet. They don't have to
look like commercials. They just have to look
like your videos, Whatever that means
to you, Gizmo. They're ready. You're ready. Tell them they're ready.
They're ready. You got this.
8. Filming Your Videos: Now let's film some videos. The first thing you need to
figure out is your setting, and this does not
have to be fancy. You don't need a
bunch of lights, you don't need to
build out a set. You just need a place
that is not distracting, that looks clean and makes
sense for your video. If you're doing a video about power tools and you have
access to a garage, then shoot in your garage. But if you don't have
that, that's okay. Try to use it in the setting where you would
actually use this. Really, it just needs
to be somewhere nice and not distracting. And preferably
close to a window. If you're near a window, that
is the perfect lighting. If you can open them up and get some lights
shining on you, maybe that's all
that you need to do. If it's still looking dark, you might have to go to a
different window in your house. But sunlight is the best light. And if you really
don't have that, put some lamps in front of you, just get some lighting
on you so we can clearly see what
you're showing us. A really great place to
do this is in your car. Assuming you don't
have a bunch of stuff in the car behind you, it can be a really nice place where you can get good lighting. It's not distracting and
you'll get good sound too. Videos. I'm typically
just using my phone, but sometimes I will use a different camera depending
on what I need to get done. But for the most part,
it's just off my phone. If you're filming
with your phone, the audio is probably
fine as long as you're not too far
away from the phone. Same with the camera,
it's probably fine. If you want to
start upgrading it, then you can, but it's not
necessary, it's just not. If you need gear recommendations for camera audio, lighting, things like that, we can talk
about in the discussion, but it's not the
focus of this class. So just use your phone. If you can use your phone,
just use your phone. And to make this as easy
as possible for you, I really suggest shooting
things in a batch, meaning you're going to create more than one video
in a sitting. For our example, I did three
videos on the same product in different styles that we're talking about
in this class. You don't need to do three
videos of the same product. You can do three videos of different products
in the same sitting, totally up to you. This is especially
easy if there's a certain style that you absolutely love and it's
very easy for you to do. You can just do that
same style over and over with a bunch of different
products in one sitting. You don't need to
change your shirt. You don't need to
make things look different. You can
if you want to. But for the purposes
of this exercise, you don't need to do it.
Just film some videos. And once you're ready
to film, you're more than welcome to use notes. I use notes for all my
videos and have fun. Right? Remember, have
some fun with it.
9. Time to Edit: So how did filming
go? Huh? Yeah. Let me know now that you've
got your footage, it's time to edit those videos. If you're a complete
newbie to video editing, I have another class
that you can go watch on editing in Cap Cut, which is the app that I'm going to be using to demonstrate the editing in this class. So make sure you go watch that. You can follow along
here or you can go and watch that and
come back. It's all good. If you're an experienced editor, you can use any video
editor that you want. The concept will be the same in any video editor that you use. I just like Cap Cut because it's easy to use and you
can do everything you need With the free stuff on the app in both IOS and Android. It's just like, is
this a People Pleaser? You know, she's a
People pleaser. I batch created videos in the three styles that we're
covering in this class, Talking Head demonstration
and product showcase. As a refresher, a Talking Head is a tell them kind of video. A demonstration is a
show them kind of video. And a product showcase is inform them but with like
music or voice over. Great, Let's edit.
10. Let's Edit! Product Showcase: All right, let's edit. I said we're going
to be using P cut in order to demonstrate
the editing here, but you can use any
video editor that you want if you're completely
new to video editing. I have a skillshare course for beginners on how to use Cap Cut. I have the Pro version,
but everything that we're doing at the point of
making this video, you should be able to do
with the free version of Cap Cut because they're
very simple things. We're going to go to new
project and then I'm going to bring in the first
video that I want to edit. Let's edit them in the
order that I filmed. Keep it simple. Select the clip that I want and then
I'm going to add it. This one is the
product showcase. So here in the time line, you
can scroll back and forth. And what I want to do is just
get the best little bits where I showcase all of the things about the product
that I want to share. So we're just going to
do this pretty quickly. I'll scroll to here. I like a reveal. We'll
tap on that split. Delete the part we
don't want, show this. I like seeing the reflection, like how the light
plays with the logo, so I'm going to keep that part. You can also zoom
it on the timeline by grabbing it and
pulling it apart, so then you can get a little bit more precise on
where your cuts are. All right, so we
show that there's a little pocket in the back. That's fun. Okay, now we're
going to get into opening it. I want to make sure I show the un zipping and then
we'll show the reveal. Excellent. All right, we got a little pocket on the side
here that has the cables, so I want to showcase that. Pull out the cable, then I'll show the specifics on the
different cables you're doing. Technology, this is particularly
important because people need to know what
cables it comes with, because that's information that people might want to know. There we go. This one's a little
bit more in focus. I'll get rid of this
clip. There we go. Show that we'll go
to the other cable. This is the charging cable. I always like to
choose the clips where there's some movement because
these are quick cuts. Slots is happening. So if you can put a little
bit movement, then it just makes it a
little bit more dynamic and then it makes it
easier for you to find the cuts that you need. And then already right
here is where you can see the time of your video. So I can see that right now
I'm at the 13 second mark, so we're doing good to stay
underneath our time limit. And then I can see
the second number says it's 1 minute
and 21 seconds. So I know that overall the video is still longer than a minute. Okay, we're going
to show this turn here and then show off the good. All right? If there's any really pretty
labels, pretty features, just stuff that's exciting
to you that you want to show off or might inform
a buyer's decision, then that's what you
want to showcase. Same thing. Show the
logo on the other side. You see, once you get good at this and you know
what you're looking for, you can get through
this really fast. It does not need to take
long to make these videos. With this kind of video, you absolutely do not need
to show your face. But because these
are headphones, I thought it would be
good to show them on, but we didn't necessarily
need to have that. Okay, then we'll
delete this last part. Total video right
now is 20 seconds. So we'll play it through,
make sure there's no like duplicate things that could get taken
out like this. I don't need to do that twice. Then she'll put them on and
then she smiles excellent. Okay, we'll play it back. The beginning is not
really eye catching because I don't know
what we're looking at, but this could be an
eye catching shot. I'm going to grab that
one, tap that clip, and then I'm going to
hold it and then drag that to the beginning here. Now the first shot is a
reveal that could be shorter, can just come in
split and delete. There we go. Maybe we just
don't even need that one. Cut things, you don't need it, that could be that short. Does not need to be long. Dot, yep. Uh huh. Yes. Here we go with the zipper. Let's see there there. Then going underneath
the bottom, I just want to jump cut there just to get rid
of that little leg. The point of this
is to like we want, oh here, this was
a little too slow. Let's drag this out
a little bit more. Pulling those out so we could actually
just cut this here. Right there I think is good. Okay, because I show the
bow's logo on the other ear. I don't think that I
need to have both here. Depending on your taste,
everything could be longer. It could be shorter for
the purposes of this demo, we're just trying to get
it in there quickly. Excellent. Now, because this is going to
be used for a sales piece, as a shoppable video, I can't use like
top 40 pop music. I can't just use whatever
you have to make sure you use music that is approved
for commercial use, so you can have it in an
ad and not get in trouble. In Cap Cut, you can go to Sounds and then over
here is commercial. And these ones are
licensed to be used on Cap Cut and Tiktok
for things like ads. But depending on where
you're going to put it, you might need to choose
something else if you're trying to put this
on every platform or, you know, depending on where
you're trying to put it, you have to make sure you
have the rights to the music. I like to use music from this website called
Upbeat because they have a really good selection and your music is
safe everywhere. So that's that's just
my personal choice. Just double check and make
sure you're in the clear. I did not tell you you
could use Brittney Spears. I didn't I didn't. You have to use the music you're allowed to use. So
let's look here. There's unboxings. We
can just press play. Okay. Yeah, that's fine. We're
going to add this song in. I added it at the
end unintentionally, so I'm going to just grab it then pull it
all the way over. It starts at the beginning. Okay, so we're going to cut
it here. Delete the end. And then just make sure we
pm it to where it ends. Where the video ends. Now you could start with the music
and edit to the music. That's a whole other game, we can learn that another time. Right now, the audio from
the video is on here. You can hear the zipping, but if you were recording in a noisy place or you just don't want the audio right here, you can press mute and all of the audio from the video
will not come through. Now, you can't do that
with your talking videos, but you can do it with this. And then when you're
done, you'll press export in the top corner, and now it will be
in your camera roll. Excellent. I would
consider this video a product showcase
explainer explaining all the different pieces that are important to this product. Here's our finished product to right. Super easy things for you to remember if you're doing
a product showcase video is show all the parts of the product that
are important to you or are eye catching. You want to put an eye catching
clip at the beginning, because if it's just
like a box of something, nobody knows what this is. But if they're
scrolling through and then they see, ooh, this thing. Now there's a little intrigue
and then they will want to see what else comes with
this product you're editing. Look for the clips that
have some movement in it, have a little bit
of visual interest. And make sure you use music
that you're allowed to use, okay, Okay, deal, deal.
11. Let's Edit! Talking Head: Now let's edit our
talking head video. We'll start another new project, and I will bring in the clips from the Talking Head video. Now I have two clips for this video because I
did my Talking Head. And then after I
stopped recording, I thought of another thing that would have been a
good beginning, so I just recorded that again
and brought them both in. Because we're going to put
them together. No problem. The second clip, I want
to be the first clip, so I'm going to grab it and I'm going to drag that over there. So we will scroll through. I want to look just
where she's talking. Split that. Delete that. Great, All this parts. I don't need these other
parts. Okay, great. We want to get right to where the talking is
starting again. Al right. If you want to zoom in more, you can pull the timeline
apart. All right. So I messed up a little bit
there, so I want to make su, I cut out that one, forgot
to say the brand name. And I wanted to make
sure I said that. So I just paused, took
a breath, did it again, and then I will cut out
the one where I messed up and then it'll jump right
to the one that I want. Okay. I'm looking at my
notes here. No shame. In some notes, I want to get right to where
I'm starting to talk. First off, in my notes, I wrote down the three
things that I want to make sure I cover with
these headphones. And it was that they're quiet, that they're comfortable, and
that they're my favorite. I didn't like my
first time saying it, I just said it again.
Just took a breath. Start again, and then we
can just cut that part out. And then if you end
up cutting too much, tap on the clip and then
you can drag it back. Looking at the note scene,
what else I want to say? I started a little bit, so I said it again. We'll split all that
and get all that out. We're thinking about what
we're going to cover next. I always like to end with
something goofy like that, but that's like my style. You don't necessarily
have to do that. Do what's right for you.
That is our initial edit. We're at 55 seconds. I find that the talking
ones tend to be longer, but still try to keep
it under 60 seconds. So here's a quick
little tip if you want to really make a point. So she says say
ever twice, right? So if you do ever, and then I can do a thing
called the key frame. I have it where I want
the movement to start. So key frames are going
to help with movement. In your videos, you will tap this little diamond
that's right here. So it sets the first key frame. And then you get where
you want it to end, want the movement
to end, and then you place it like this. So it's going to do
a little zoom in. One of my favorite
little things to do, So here, because we've
got three points, right? So maybe I want to do a split
here to make the point. Here we go, right
before the first one. I'm going to do a split
here, quiet right? Do a split there for
the comfortable. And then for the third one, the video in the regular
size, the second one, I'm going to zoom it
in just a little bit. The next one I'm
going to select it, zoom it in just a little bit more to take it down
just a little bit. And then this one,
we're going to zoom it in all the way, much closer. Let's see how that
looks. See this one. I want to move it.
This one also, I want to move it to the side. If for whatever reason you
do something, you're like, I made a mistake, right
here is the undo button. So you can press that,
it'll undo the last thing. You can undo a couple
if you need to, but if you want
to bring it back, like you accidentally
press that or you decide like you actually
did like that edit, you can press the other button, which is the redo with
your Talking Head videos. I do suggest you add
some captions to it. In Pcu, it's very easy to do. You go to text here
at the bottom, and you can go to auto captions, which may or may not
be a pro feature. If it is a pro feature and
you don't want to get, you can probably caption it in the app that you're
posting this in. But if it is available,
you press Start. Just going to automatically
put the captions in there, like magic captions
are in there. You can move these around, you can change the style, you can put different fonts. There's so much that
you can do with that, but for now we're just
going to take those off. When we're ready, we're
going to press export. It will go to your camera
role and we're done. Make sure it did
export another sound. Excellent. And here is
our talking head video. If you don't have noise
canceling headphones in your life yet, you
should get these. These are the ones, these are my absolute favorite
headphones ever ever. This is the Bows QC
35 headphones and they are quiet comfortable,
they're amazing. First off, the
noise cancellation on this is like no other. It is the number one. I've worn these on airplanes. I have made my loved
ones take these on airplanes because they
are just so good. And not only is the noise
canceling really good, the comfort is excellent. We've got really good
headphone squishies, and there's this nice little
cushion here at the top. I can wear these for
hours and hours, and it's never a problem. And they also look really good, Right, right, right, right. Things to remember with your
talking head video are to make sure you are in an
environment where it is quiet. So when you're talking the
microphone can pick you up. So you don't want any like
crazy background noise. You want to get somewhere
where you know you can speak clearly and get
your points across. Have your three
points written down. Have three things about the product that you
want to talk about. This video, I would consider
a Talking head testimonial because I'm talking about my actual opinions and
experience with the product. I made sure to pick three
things that I wanted to cover. That they're quiet, that they're comfortable, and
that I love them. And if you mess up,
it's totally okay. Take a breath. Say it again, and then cut those
parts out later. Nobody's ever going to know, they'll just think
you're perfect, 'cause you are on
to the next one.
12. Let's Edit! Demonstration : Now we're going to
edit the third video from our batch creation session, which is the demo
demos can be tricky if you don't have everything ready and sometimes things
don't work right. So this demo took a little
bit longer for me to film because I was having issues getting the technology
to connect. But depending on
what you're doing, that might not be a problem. But demos tend to be the ones
that do give me problems. If it's going to be
any problems at all. There's just more
factors going on versus my opinion or showing you the physical product.
Go to new projects. I'm going to pull in that clip. If you need to
preview your clip, you can tap on it and
it's going to open it up and you can make sure that
it is the right clip. So that's the one
from the last video. Now this one is the
demo that, that I want. We're going to add
that video clip. This video I consider
a demonstration how to video tutorial
when filming it. I didn't do any talking because we're going to do a voice over. Okay, so I'm showing some of my first steps here. All right. First clip I want is a little showcase of
what we're going to do. We're going to connect
the headphones to your phone because
this one has an app. I'm showcasing that
you have to download the app and install that. All right. I'm signing in. I'm not going to share
all the sign in stuff because I don't want to
showcase my sign in stuff. The next step is to
show turning it on. Turn it on, there we go. And then we show that
there are some lights and that it shows up in the app. So this is where I
ran into some issues. Look, she is so
annoyed. It happens. And then finally it did connect, so we will jump to
that. Turn it on. I have blue lights,
there's something else. I'm missing something because I must have cut off something
that I was supposed to have. I'm just press back
until I find it. You can also add the
footage back in from your camera roll if you're missing something that
should have been there. I like this where
I can put it up to my ear because it
does say something, it does talk to me to say
it's ready to connect. Now it has connected. And then put the
headphones on and enjoy, that's still too long, so I've got some
long clips in here. There's something that I
still need to get rid of. And because we're going to
do the voice over for this, I'm going to actually press
this mute button so all of the clips will not have audio because we're going
to do a voice over. Here's the clips
that I need to get. Okay, so this big clip, that's not what I need now. The whole video is 29 seconds. That's more like it. Show it. Okay. She's going to
connect to the app. You're going to install the app, you're going to put
it in pairing mode. Then you're going to look
for the lights to change, and this is actually
in the wrong order, okay, So we got logical
steps here, right? So this is what
we're going to do. First step is this.
Second step is this. Third step is this. Here we go, right?
All right, listen, we're listening for
the ready to connect. And then the phone
recognized it. Okay. I actually
want to go back. I want to bring this back
here. Now I play it. This, Yes, This, Yes, yes. Okay, Roll it down to connect. Yes. And you're
going to turn it on. Yes. Put it in pairing mode. Excellent. Ready to connect. Excellent. Now it is connected. You can listen, and you can go so easy with demonstrations. You want to make sure
that it is clear and concise and you're not giving people the wrong information. Now let's record our voice over. I'm going to scroll
to the beginning and I'm going to go to audio. I'm going to just set this down and then I'm going
to press voice over. Now you can write out a
script if you want to. I'm going to free style it because I'm a little
wild. Press voice over. Then you can hold this
or you can tap it. It'll do a little countdown. I'm going to show
you how to connect your bows headphones
to your phone. First thing is you need
to download the bows app. Your phone is going to okay. I'm going to
stop that there. I messed up a little bit,
so I'm just going to keep the parts that I
like Stop there, split and then I'll delete
the rest and then we will keep it going, don't
think too much about it. Now, you will turn on your headphones and when they
show up in the app, you're going to pull it down to make sure you can pair it. You're going to hear
your headphones say, ready to connect
and then they will connect to the app and
then you are ready to go. So my voice over ended up a little bit longer
than the video, but that's easy to fix. It just got to see if there's
anything I can cut out in the audio or I can extend part of the
video even right there. I can definitely lose the beginning here because
there's like a pause. Pull this back here. Okay, let's see what we got. All right. There's a
little bit of pause here. I'm going to overlap
those audios until it starts right away here. I can actually trim down
the video a little bit. It is our demonstration video. I'm going to show
you how to connect your bows headphones
to your phone. First thing is you need
to download the bows app. Now you will turn
on your headphones, and when they show up in
the app, you're going to pull it down to make
sure you compare it. You're going to hear
your headphones say, ready to connect, and then they connect to the app and
then you are ready to go. Things to remember with the demonstration
video is that it is a show them video. So
you have to show them. Think about some logical steps in showing how a product works. You don't have to
necessarily do a voice over. You don't necessarily
have to show your face. You could do this
with just music. But keep in mind you
want to make sure the video is as understandable, clear, and concise as possible so people can do the thing
that you're showing them. Cool, cool.
13. You got this! : I really hope you
enjoyed learning how to create some
shoppable videos. And this is going to become more and more useful the more that different platforms integrate
shopping into their app. And we all love to shop online. And that's where you come
in with your testimonials, with your demonstrations, with your unboxings,
with the videos that are going to help the viewer
make the buying decision. Be the one that delivers
the information that helps the buyer make
that purchase decision. You want to make your
videos engaging, entertaining to the point, while still being
authentic to you. Remember, your videos don't
need to look like my videos. They don't need to look
like anybody's videos. They just need to look like your videos. With your opinion, with your style
of demonstrating, with your way of talking. Get the information in there,
have some fun with it. Do remember, with
great influence comes great responsibility if this is a trash product that you are
giving a positive review to, knowing that it's
a trash product. When people get
that trash product, they're going to associate that with you and that's
not what you want. There's so many
things out there. Just make videos about
the things that you actually do like and
actually would recommend. There's plenty. There's plenty
that you can work with. Now, go forth, make
those shoppable videos. And remember to create release and repeat.
I'll see you next time.
