1. Hello and Welcome: Hello everyone. My name is Mila. And in today's video, I'm going to show you how to make your PDF documents fully editable offline. We are going to use an online program that is free. It's called PDF Escape. And you don't have to register there, you don't have to create an account, you just upload your document and make it editable for your clients. Are you ready? Let's get started. 2. Preparing the Document: So here we have the workbook in Canva. This is the workbook that we created. You can watch the tutorial in my last class on my profile. Now we need to download to document. So we just click on the, arrow, PDF print, and download. I'm not going to click Download because I already have it on my computer. Now, let's go to the PDF escape: PDFescape.com. This is the homepage. As I said before, you don't need to register. It's completely free. So you just choose your file from your computer like this. And as you can see, our workbook is 12 MB. And if you want to use the free version, you can only upload 10 MB. What we are going to do now, we will go to Adobe compress. Here you can see Adobe.com for me it's in Spanish, so because I'm in Spain. So it should be, if you type in Google, Adobe compress PDF, you will find this. And it will be compress PDF. So you just select the PDF, like this. Okay? And here you can choose high-quality, medium quality or low quality. I usually choose to medium one, it's enough. Okay, compress. And here we go, See, so from 12 MB we did only 2.4 MB, which is wonderful. Now. Where is it? Oh, okay. We need to start our session. Okay. Perfect. I'm sure you can find different programs as well to compress your PDF files without registering, so look, I just download it. Okay. And now we can go to the PDF Escape. Choose file. I will choose the new one. Here we go. 3. Text boxes: Now we are in PDF escape. We have our workbook uploaded and we want to make it editable. So as I said before, your clients won't need to use this program. They will be able to edit it offline. I will show you how at the end of this video. Just have a look at some functions. You can choose the Zoom. I usually use 100. If I want to see the whole page I choose 50. If I want to see some details 200. Now let's go to our questions. Okay? So now I want to insert a text field here where we will be writing the answers. So I just go to Form Field. And here I can choose from these options. So probably you would choose Text. But if you choose Text, you will be able to write just one line. And we don't want that. We want more lines because the answer will be probably longer than just one line. So you choose Text Paragraph - Select, and now you just click and drop like this. And now here you can adjust the font, the size and the color. I usually choose Arial. And I usually choose the size 14 and black color. So now we can do the same with the question 2, drag and drop and the same here. Now let's say for example, you'll click here and you do something you didn't want. So you just go back. Yeah, easy. You can do the same with Before and After. Now, I want to see the whole page so I click on 50 % Before and After. Okay. Now let's say you are finished. You want to download the document. So you click on this green icon over here and it will be saved on your computer. Okay. So now let's go to have a look at the document. Just a second. Okay. See. So I just opened the offline document in Adobe and I go to questions and see? I can type. And I can see it's still pretty small. I could even choose maybe 15 or 16 size. The same here. Now when you want to close the PDF, it will ask you if you want to save it. So you can also save it on your computer. And that's it. 4. Check boxes: The next thing we want to do is to create the checklist. So we want the client to be able to click and check the boxes. So we go again - Form Field. But this time, we don't choose Text Paragraph, we choose Checkbox - Select. And again, click and drop. Click and drop. And I click on this again so that it disappears. I don't want it there. Right. I just want the client to do it, not me. Look, I did it wrong, so I go back. All right. Perfect. And again, I can choose the color. So this time I don't want the black color. I want grey. Okay, and now we are finished. We can do the same with this checklist. And again, let's see how it looks. So let's click on the green icon to download the document. And now I will open it here to show you how to do it. Okay, here we go. This is our checkbook, see, and now you'll click and it's done. Okay, So as you can see, the gray one is only in the last check box. So if you want to change the color, better do it at the beginning and before you finish creating all the fields. Because as you can see, These - they stayed black. So that's it. Again. When you want to close the document, you can save it. 5. Other Functions of PDF Escape: So another thing that you can do in PDF Escape is to edit your documents online. You can, you can draw, you can write. And then you can also insert images, white out some confidential information. And then again, you just download it and save it to your computer. Because sometimes if you want to use Adobe, you have to pay for the upgraded version so that you can edit documents. But here you can do it for free. And remember, when your file is bigger than 10 MB, you can always compress it in another program and make it smaller and then you can use the free version of PDF Escape. Okay, so I hope the video was useful. And as your class project, feel free to upload your workbook and with already inserted fillable fields. Okay, so let me know in the discussion if you have any questions, and I hope to see you in my next class. Have a great day.
