1. Welcome: Welcome to the beginner beat making course in FL Studio. If he knew to music production. And you're trying to figure out how you can program your own beads. This is the course for you. You don't need music theory to follow along. I will show you how to program your drums, how to program your melodies, and some basic mixing techniques so that you beat sound descent for recording. Or if you're ready to start with the music production, Jenny, make sure you switch off all destructions. And I will see you in the course. 2. Navigation: Welcome to the first episode of the beat making in FL Studio. In this video, we're going to focus mainly on the interface, the navigation, where to find things, okay, all the basic stuff. And then we'll move on to creating the bead and every day. So at the top you can see there is a Play button, MR. Job and a record. I'm pretty sure you didn't know what that is right next to it. You can see these two switches here. There's the pattern mode and the song mode. The pet in mode is basically the loop phase, where we're creating melodies and drones in 18 biosystem by Luke and the song mode, that's where we can arrange a bit and ten it into a song with intros, hawks versus that is the song mode. It's the arrangement mode. Again, Patton is the loop phase. For example, we have a loop over year, I'm just going to click. So we have different things. For instance. But this is a loop which is the pattern mode, okay? The song mode. This is where we are arranging a bit into something with structure, but I will show you how to do that later in the tutorial. Okay, but for now I'm just going to show you real quick on how that works because I want you to get it. Okay, So plate. Great. So we have key club heads in one loop. Okay? So what we can do, we can split by China. Basically we're splitting the Keq club head two different patterns instead of one petal. As you can see, this is better than wine, okay? So by splitting, now we have airway kick in 1 pentene, Cleburne, one-party hired in wind petty. Great. So this is where you will be switching to different patterns. Okay? So now that we have patterns, we can switch to song mode. So you might be wondering, where do I arrange? Don't worry, we'll just go to View playlist. You can see it over here. View playlist. So this is arrangement window. As you can see, a playlist arrangement. So my different patterns, you can see them over here. My kick. Let me show you something. Let's switch it back to pet him. It only plays the pet in, but it doesn't do anything over you suspect a song. Okay. Let's put the clip over a year ago. Okay, So that is how you use pettiness and so mode and thus the difference. So you do know the petty in the song, the play, the stock and the record. So the record is the button you use to record midi information. And Volcker's, let's click and see what happens. Okay, So what would you like to record? Note, see the half-life for more information, But RB, the help file right now. So you can decide if you want to select audio into the Edison audio editor recorded, which is you want to record vocals or a ghetto, or do you into the playlist as an audio clip, which is recording audio, but it goes straight to the playlist arrangement window, artial duplicate, nodes, and automation. You want to record your keyboard playing with your sustains and everything that includes the automation, any adjustments you're making while you play everything, you can record basically everything with this button. And this is the temple. This is the tempo as you can see over here. So there is also a hint pineal that tells you what's what. So if you hover over it, it's going to tell you what it is, is going to tell you what it is. Okay, great. So the tempo is the speed. So it's the beats per minute is the tempo beta. Okay? So to hear what temple or the Betas in, because you don't have any instruments yet. We switch on the metronome, get poem. Let's play. But to patent. Great. Let's go up to the tempo. So you're going to use the metronome to make sure that you playing everything on temple. So over year these other buttons, this is wait for input. Let's say you want FL Studio to start recording when you press a key on your keyboard while you play, then you switch on, wait for input or else it's going to come toolbars, then you can start recording. Great. So this is your typing keyboard to piano keyboard. I'm pretty sure most people who bought because don't have midi keyboards yet. So this is the button you're going to use to switch on your keyboard, your PC keyboard, to function as a midi keyboard, right? By switching it off, your keyboard only triggers short cuts, alright, so keep it on. Red stuff. So let's go over year. So what this is, is a step sequencer. This is where we create melodies, drum, all that good stuff. You can see these bars year to click in triggers. You just use left click to remove the trigger. Right-click. Click in there. If click, remove the trigger, right-click. Okay, so let's play. That's at the template 20 and 25. Again, let me say I wanted to create a typical fall to the floor. I'm going to left-click. Okay, Let's edit. Okay. Let's say you don't want it to be too repetitive. You went to add some variations now and then we can just over a year drag it. And another for Buzz by great night to activate it and it'll click in. Okay. Just copy what I did over there. With this Bamaga. Again, when something like okay, let's say I denoted like the snare. What I'm gonna do is I'm going to go to my pecs. Go. So this is, this is where you're going to find songs. So to change this 800 eight snare to another sound, let's say you find something you like, like they're 70, 73, and here you can just drag and drop it. Boom. I like that. Let's say you feel like you're SNA is too loud or too low, and you do have a volume option over here. There's the channel or you. Okay. Great. I'm going to say you went to, went to Penn, you're hired to the left. You do have a panning knob right next to the volume. Good. Okay. So there is also another option you can use tool and adjust your volumes without using these knobs, which is using your mix at interface or so to forage on the mixed age is click over year of your mucosa. Remember your input and will always help you out. You'll make so good. This is the mixer. Okay? So I want to say in my 60k Matlab everything basically two different mix a truck so that I can be able to manipulate the sounds. So what I'm gonna do is I'm going to right-click, right click hold, drag down. Now I've selected everything. So in Sichuan, right-click these roots elected Chinese to this truck is root selected channels starting from this Shrek. Okay, so the first one will route everything to this one trick. Everything will play in one mixer trick. So we're going to select the second one which is root selected Chinese studying from the strep. Boom, OK. Now you can see everything is over here. Now content on. So the mix, this is where we can be able to manipulate the sounds. Ed, EQs. For example. Let's say the room short, maybe. Didn't wire. I'm going to show you how to use EQs and everything later in the tutorial element instead, step-by-step. But for now, I want you to get as much value from this introverted so that when you're going for what you can easily follow along with things. All right, great. So this is where you go to load your effects. Great. Replace if you want to change it instead. If there is no effect or were there select whatever. If it, boom, boom, boom, great. So that is the mixer. You can see this is your volume, and that's your mixer. So let's go to the top left. Here you can see these file. This is where you'll be able to import midi notes or audio clips, all that good stuff that you import, that you export if you want to export your P2 and P3 flag metafile WAV file. Again, this is where you can open recent projects. And you also have Save Options. Save, it's just safe where you've already saved, Save As it's where you can save for the first time and title your project, Okay, and save it way you want, and you just click Save for FL to just save your progress as you go. Great. And then you get your edit. That's where you can copy cut. And you have your ad. This is where you can add instruments. Girls, I went to add the Flex plugin. And this is your petals. This is where you can make adjustments to your pet is like split by China. Let's say you have a low pianos drum, everything in one pet and you can just split by China. Here you go to View, this is where you can decide if you want to see your piano roll. Okay? So the piano roll, this is where we will be creating melodies. So you just left click to click in notes, right-click to remove the note. What's your view? You also have the option to switch on and off piano rolls. Oh, yeah, As you can see, this is a viewer piano roll. Okay. So this area covers almost the same thing as this, okay? And then you have your options. That's where you can go to settings, all that good stuff. You have your tools and you have your help. Great. Okay. As you can see to the left side of the forward is yay. So this is your browser. This is where you'll find precedes recent files. Your drum sounds go to pegs. Your instruments. Okay, Great stuff. So these are drums are downloaded myself, okay, in drum samples, you might be wondering how to do that. You just go to file to import your own drum samples. Okay. Go with a drum samples. Okay, boom, you see another folder over here. Okay, great. That is how you input your drums. Great. General covers, general settings, your audio, this is where you can select your audio interface, your midi. This is where you can select the input as your midi if you have a midi keyboard to play notes with, so you can just select enable to use your keyboard as a midi call. Show. Okay, this is all you need to be able to make beads mix all that good stuff. So in this course I'm going to show you how to make your beads or to create melodies, how to program your drums, how to mix your beads, how to automate, how to arrange your bids. So that's it for this video, guys. See you in the next one. 3. Writing Melodies & Chords: Welcome back. In this video, we're going to focus on creating melodies using your piano roll, as you can see here, this is the default setup with the key clubs 800 eight. I went to remove that. Let's go to File New from template, get minima. Let's select Empty with $0.04, right? Great stuff. Oh, okay, and now there's nothing over the right. Let's open the piano roll. Oh, great. Okay. Left-click to open the piano roll. Okay, and now let's look for a sound. You can right-click on the sampler here, replaced the assembler, or go to add and select the instrument you want. But in this case we're going to use replace Flex plugin. It comes with fl Studio. Let's see what we have here. Okay. Yeah, I'm using my computer's keyboard to create the sounds you hear on right now. Yeah. You can use yours. Right. Now I want to show you how to use the piano roll first before I show you how to create melodies, go to the piano, makes it out to create melodies. You just click in notes. To remove the note. You just right-click, get. So let's say this is what we have to bend. Maybe the head note, you just go to slide, switch on slide. Then the next note you click will be a slider. Okay? So C. Put it here. So what then is click again. Great. Let's lower it with two It tastes. And that is how you use the glider. Again. At the bottom, you have your controls, which is your pH control, your velocities. For example, if I adjust the velocity just by right-clicking up and down, okay, listen to it. Velocity basically is how hard you hit the node. You can switch the control. Note pen. You can pin the notes. Let's play. Now they go from speaker to speaker, okay? Alt hold, left-click to default, okay? No delays, node filter cutoff frequencies, all sort of controls over. Yeah, okay. But mostly you going to use the pain and the note velocity. All right, Great stuff. So now let's look for yourself. There's too much sustain over year. Feed back. Let's just the delay feedback. Let's adjust room. Tone it down. I like that. Turned on the mix from the delay and they're great. I like it. Okay, great. So now we're going to create the first melody. I like this sound, so I'm not going to look for any other sounds. If you interchange the sounds, you can just click on it. But I like this lead. Great. It's open the piano row. First, let's look for suitable tempo. There is no rule to selecting a tempo. You just go with what you're feeling at the moment, okay? Okay, I'll go with 110. There's a few basics unit to know to create minor and major codes, right? Let me show you something. Okay. 1231231234. This is C minor. This is how you create minor and major codes without key, both skills, using your boss basic it. To create the C minor code, I'm going to select the root note, skip two notes, and paste another note. Skip three nodes. Paste another note. That's a minor chord, okay? So it's. But this one is called this y to note on the dead one, 1, 2, 3, note on the fourth one. Okay? So it's 2, 3. That's your minor chord. And the major chord is the opposite. The major code is 3, 4, which is instead of skipping two, we're going to skip three. Then auto-magically it's 12. Then the last node. So that's a major C code as plane. That's major sea. A minor doesn't do it. The C major is more, hey, people was a major chord. It's an add-on. It's more dark because it's a minor chord. So remember, this is how you create major and minor chords are just using your mouse or gay. It's a, if you were to create G minor, you're going to hit the note Jew. Skip two notes, 123, okay? Then skip three nodes with creating a minor. Now 123. The fourth one, you heat the note, okay, so that is G minor. G major. Instead of skipping two from the root note, we skipped three, which automatically makes it a major. And that is how you create minor and major codes with just your mouse. All right, so let's get to it. Let's look for a dogma NOT Let's see if we find something. All right. It's just too much. Let's go for now. The sun. Instead Nexus. If you enter a place, you just click Replace. I'm going to keep it somewhat. I see inset axes. All right. 1231234. Then just control selectivity. Okay, did that. So I selected the root node ID Mulan, and then I used it 34 to create major chord from that. Okay. That Let's go 123123123123412312341231234. And the great thing about the technique, you just going to hear when the next pattern is supposed to be a minor or major. And I'll show you how easy it is to just switch from the right one. Swish the obtains control. Just a little bit. Okay, great. It's good to modulate that status. No, LET got to set it to 16 to 32 to find out a softness to for nasa. So some selection is also important. Sometimes you might think the melody is not working, but it's the sound you selected. Key that, that crazy. Now, Let's try this one. Okay, Let's Shine. Control. Shift on to duplicate. Now we have code. Look at your hipbone and if you're not familiar with keys, and you can see this is D. All right, so 1, 2, 3. That's a minor cut. Great, let's play. Let's send this ped to mix it, check and see if maybe we can get something dopa momentary. Now. So here's what we did. We sent this paired to a separate mix, a trip, edit, gross beat, gross bit comes with LFOs studio. Right? On precedes looted, momentary, and went straight to the gates. So this is half gate Is William and use these ones. Okay, Let's layer it. I'm going to clone that, which is duplicating the sound. If I want to copy the notes playing here, the codes, I can just right-click on the sampler, copy. Paste. All right, Great, So I'm going to look for another sound because I want to layer it with another sound so that it sounds big. Great. It's play the Senate tool in Mt. Let's fill to p, q, right? Click highpass. Lowpass, this band, right? Okay, Let's say the speed of the gates AND gates. As I did, I think we can automate the gates lead to in the arrangement window. So let me just play one. K1. K1, both sounds. More heavy. Cells will fit the whole peoples of layer. Okay, Let's look for another sound to spice it up. Yeah, I like that. It's a plucks are. Okay, Let's go straight to the piano row. Sum like that. Like that. Remember, left-click, right-click in the note. If you went to shop the note to extend it, just hover over it. You're going to see these arrows extend, sharp it down, or you can just go over a year. You would select the Slice tool and just jump into, okay, this is the brush tool, this is the pen to the dual most saintly. Remove right-click. So the brush will always paste the same note you clip before. So I'll images click this one green. So that when I click the next node, It's the same side. You don't have to chop it down again. Again. I like that. Let's go. Again. Remember control select every day shift and extended the bar. All right. Yeah. And you can see the ghost notes they are showing here, right? So you just go to help, Ooh, no goes notes, go to ERPO. And it will cause notes. So you can see what happened previously and will also guide you over year to make sure that you are in key and everything is go, Let's play list and then stayed 10 to the feedback from the delay. Like that. All right, let's save, let's save, let's save, go to Save. As again, I'm just going to see we do for now. 4. Writing Melodies & Chords - Part 2: All right, great stuff. Okay, let's switch off the plan for now and go to my drum samples and do Edit Base, but a pink arrow, it will work for this one. Okay. All right, great. Great. To see you as this one. I like this one. 80 it seeks, let's say to a bass drum. Okay, Great. Okay. Okay, check this. Check this out real quick. Okay. Check this out. Completely different note, because sample is a WAV file and it's in a different key. Okay, so if you try to pay along with the melodies, you'll be lost. So I'm going to show you how to fix that problem first, make sure that the 800 eight, you're going to use these in key. So let's get to it. Let's preview the rapport through to Rapa edit, coup. In audio editor. It's going to show in Edison. Edison, let's go over a year. The regions detect pitch regions. Click that G sharp too. Now we know the 800 eight is in G sharp two. So we're going to go back to the wrapper, select the envelope. Okay, and look for G sharp. All right, So this is G, and this is G-sharp, right? So this is G sharp to K. You can select this one, you can select this one doesn't matter. Just make sure that we're not see for this 800 eight because it's in G-sharp. Set a to G sharp. And then now it's in key. When I hit D, it hits D. Alright, let's see eight again. Can you hear that? Great. Let's hit now. It's in key. Let me set it back to that C and D delivery note. That is how you fix your 80. It if it's off-key, just find which kids in and just set it to the right key. And from there you winning. So let's play and see if we can come up with any melodies for the baseline. I like the vibe. You can see and you can wrap when these you can cry on these, you can do whatever. All right. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Okay. If you like the 800 eight, you can just go to produce a grind dude comb. This is a free drum kit by the Joker bits. Let's play. So you first create the melody in your head and converted into area melody in fruit loops, right? And this is a technique in US men, even if you away from your studio or your computer, you can just pull up your phone and record your melody ideas, man. All right, so let's go. Let's look for the key. So instead of creating the melody over year because it's too low, we're going to use the higher octaves and then lower the sounds. All right? Okay. Remember the root note is D, exome is in D minor. The pizzas in D minor. Ok, OK. Ok. I like that. Control, select everything, shift, extend the bar. So basically we're repeating the same thing, but we're going to switch it up right? Then the second ones goes. Yeah. All right, great. I like that. Good. Let's take it to a low O2. Remember WHO control are a doubt. Let's play it again. Now you have two options to sustain the note. You could just leave it as is, which is using the envelope settings. Let's go back to the simpler select envelope. As you can see, it is a take hold. Gk sustains food. Do you ever really snow? So it determines how long it goes after it hits a note. Okay, but for me, I love control men. So what I'm gonna do, I'm going to set my attic to 0 because I want to hear that initial transient for the 800 eight, that initial from the ADA to kick. So let's make it again up. Good. Let's adjust again. This maybe it's low. And you hear that. Can hear that. The Arctic is a bit slow. When it's 0. It hits on the toilet. Okay, so this sustain and release determines how much time do we have? Let's go crazy. Get us to shut off. Now it's gone. Okay, great. But you need some of it to be on. So this is a little bit. So the decay is more like a sustained in a way. We are going to come back and adjust these later when you have a kick, but I'm going to paint the full picture when we have the kick in the song, right, let's play for now. So what I'm gonna do now to manually sustain the airways, because I want it to sound like a normal baseline. So I'm going to say, Whoa, control node and I'm going to say Control L. Control L then extends everything automatically. So let's play. Again. You might be wondering, how do they do those cool gliding, sliding type of base effects is stuff men. So what we're going to do now, we're going to switch from using typical note. A glider Elijah showed you earlier. So it's slide. Again. I'm going to switch the slide and Suzhou and put them into get. So put a mentor is a synthesizer if it glides, denote, okay, so I'm going to use Slack, put them into, okay, So let's go. So this is DA, the Senate deep. You don't have to select a D, but for stead, as I'm going to show you using D, you can select it now that note, as long it's in key with the song is played. It yet it so cool man. It is chop it off. Make it to a separate node, okay. That sounds that sounds okay. You can get you can you can go crazy. Okay. Let's go back to the whole, let's adjust the old. Okay. Now is the radius. You can do the same thing with the glider also, which is moving from different octaves, is going to make a difference. Let's fade, not hire one. Like that one. Again. Remember to move the nodes from Octave to book to you. Just hold Control arrow down or up, like this room. Okay. Good. Just to Slido. Good and just ship it enough that some stoke. You sit. Huge difference just by chopping the lighter note enough. All right. So you just have to be open-minded and they are no rules to this ODE. Your music baking stuff. They like that. Again is at the plug. Will get us try something else. Let's try something else with this blacks. Okay? Let's say you want to chop it down again, but you want a smaller bottom. These simple, you can just switch your grid settings. Let's say go into six, that you can adjust it to a super super small snap to grid settings. I wanted to to to, to, to, to somebody at let's see it. Again. Let me show you how it did that. Deep bed. So what a deed control select everything and then extend up and down. Right? Great. So and I'm going to set it to right of step is fine. Okay, 1, 2, 3, 4. Gotta wanted to sound robotic while these are selected, I'm just going to double-click and turn down the velocity. Just did a little bit like that. Again, let's sounds like a delay as is. So I don't think when it does delay as play. Nice. And more reverb. Let's save again, Control S to save because you already selected your location to save and your project title, glass Save As now you just see Control S, it saves your project automatically. Are here something, I do hear something like a string, some like a string. So let's go to citrus. Fruit tea plugin also. Only fed plugin is nixes so far, okay, Great. Such as SCLC, Foo, string. So i e is something like so here's something we can use that good. And they're grown sound like to solve streaming in new way. Oops, I'm like that. I'm going to show a conventional. So NSAIDs will shrink policy that like this. Ooh, ooh, some like bit. But no. No. Because some things for you. As clubs, everything to school, to sound foods is always STR and symbol, right? Great. What did God? It's too sharp, fancy, just too sharp. Okay, let's see if we can use this one in the sun I'm hearing right now is a UHF. Yeah. Yes. I'm like these two here, something like that. But not in front, just to back. You can Hadley aid. It's Let's see if it works. If it doesn't, we just remove it. Okay? Okay, let's send it to a separate mixer track. So to do that, select the mixes and let the China you want to send it to. Right click, not left-click, right-click. Go to channel routing. You select route selected to this track. Just the strike. Okay, Perfect. It's so what I'm going to do now I'm going to filter it, but I'm going to use an EQ like I did with the other page. So I'm going to select the fruity parametric EQ, okay? So this is an EQ basically, with the EQ, we use it to remove frequencies we don't need and boost where there is a need. For example, we don't need the low end on this. So what we can do, we're going to just tend on this knob and chocolate. Is it? Let's do the same thing from the side. But don't worry, in the mixing phase, I'm going to teach you how to mix using the EQ and compression. Okay, let's play. Right now you can just follow along and do what I'm doing with the CEU. Get a shy shifting to a lower octave control. Our doubt. A one-piece out to be like way, way, way, way far to a boy and you can hear it, you can just feel it. Right? It's play. Games go down. And then yeah, and then, yeah, and, and, and death. So now we have a DO Loop going wherever melody we have some beautiful spices with the plug. We have a base which is 800 eight in this case. We have like go sound like bad pad. So far. So good. That's it for this video, we're going to save it as is. And the next video we're going to be adding drum. So I'll be teaching you how to program drums in FL Studio to see you in the drum programming episode, Let's go. 5. Drum Programing: Welcome back. In this video, we're going to focus on programming drums. We already have a dope code going. Maladies, 800 eight. Now it's time to add drums. It's play. Okay, let's look for a good look for a kick. I'm gonna go to my drum samples. I'm going to use the same symbol Peck I use, which is by Joe, could be a Jew, could be. Yeah, free drum kit. I like this one. Okay, so are we going to do, we're going to drag and drop or you can just say right-click open a new China, okay? Because if you say Send to Selected Channel, it's going to replace this one. Okay, and that's my cake. Are like these numbers over here. That number. Next. Remember to click and triggers. You left-click to remove it. Right-click. Let's click it in. I wanted to follow along with the basic rule. Switch it up over a year. Now. Okay, great, we have that over year of the control options also. So this is your graph editor. Left-click here. You can be able to manipulate the instrument or drum sound, in this case, care. So this is your note page here. So you can, this is some mini piano row. This is your velocity. You release your phone pH, you're panning. All that good stuff. Okay, So we're going to focus on the velocity. Okay, to switch off the iterative. Girls tend on the velocity on this one so that it sounds like a real person is playing it. This one also three steps. Switch off the metronome. Okay, great Sutra of the graph editor by left clicking again. Okay, now we're going to send the pet in to my piano row so that I can be able to manipulate the kick even more. Okay, so we're going to right-click to send it to piano row. You just select piano roll. Great stuff. So what I'm going to do now I'm going to see control select everything. Click Shift and hold it, drag. Again. Just play. Okay. Yeah, let's make it interesting. Great. That sounds to me. Guy, remember what our talked about? Now it's time to ingest the 800 eight a tech because I don't want it to be too sharp because these are Keq for that. Okay? So for them to play along together, what I'm gonna do is I'm going to add just a touch, just a little bit. Instead of having my iterate hitting this part, I wanted to hit this hard. Just 5% Just like this or it could be a little bit messy. 2%, 3 percent is fine, it's not too slow. Okay? My kick kick off, I want to show you something. Kicks sort of fills the gap. And then the tail goes with the 800 eight. Okay. So they are no clashing. So we haven't started mixing or doing anything else. Just this trip alone creates a dope relationship between your KYC and 800 eight girls go to 5% tech spec it. Oh, great. Yeah. Okay, Great. Let me show you something real quick. There's the kicks initial attack. We can say it right? Okay, let's go to the envelope settings. If we adjusted, it solved now that initial punch is gone again. So on the cake, we're going to keep it on again and remove a little bit of it using the active time on the arrow. Great, great stuff known as Suzhou of the melodies and focus on creating a dope drum loop again. Control S to save. Now the kicker 800 eight, sound like one instrument list of whites. I like this one. All right, great. Great. Okay, Let's go. Let's add. Use a shortcut, right-click fill each two-step gap, but we don't want it to sound robotic. So what I'm gonna do, I'm going to play with the velocity. This one is like this. Right here. This again, I like that. The piano duplicate that. Extend these 2.5 step. So and to create that much and going if it would, these ones are just extended away. So I'm going to say control eyelid over there. We're gonna go to the wrench over here, the tool, and select the ITO. Yeah, so this is a topo. So we're going to use the time to create the Trump's like that. Okay, Great. Shift duplicate. Again. I just want the first part him that much in interpret your foot. Let's go now. Okay. Let's go. Let's play. Send it to the mixer. On the left-hand side. This is a base, but this is I want to read next to my right. Control S is look for a snare. I like this one. Promote the number. Kayla, send that to the piano roll and say, Let us to be good. Hold Shift. Standards such as this one. Here. Like bit, just extended, just a little bit, just a little bit darker. Orange to chop it. Okay, let's just chop the last one to shop. Like that. Just changed in like that. A scope where a split. However look going. So stop, so stop, but I want to layer it with SharePoint layer, MAC layer with a clip. Shortest one, obeying your journal. Remember, if you say sent to scroll replaced Snap, cash number like a project screen. Okay, great. Displayed here on the second one. It ends with the cap again, that's what we want to do. Okay. So that's all for the prep. Now the way to duplicate this, you just move to the bar which is 1, 2 over u, which is control CV, great. That's 12. Then from this Pi you just make sure you've only view this bar, right? Great. Then Control hold C, v. Let's do it again. Control C and we will grade. But this club ain't doing it for me. Let's see if you can manipulated that. Okay. Let's give it a shot. Such as the DK. Yeah, like crazy. Like them. So in the club, It's all China retailer. Right? Yeah. And then and then an LLC row. So in the plug to its own channel, strip and then use Control S to save. Yes. Sounds dope. Now, wherever the Maladies, the codes, the drum loop, the tricks I was dope. Now it's time to move on to the next step. As you can see, this is a loop trip, just doing one thing over and over again. Okay? So in the next video, the next step will be arranging the PPT, okay, making it a structured beat with intros, hoax of S is our trues, all that good stuff. So in the next video we'll be focusing on arranging the bit, making sure it's structured, adding transition effects on the arrangement and automating, playing around with some filters and the parents, all that good stuff. So see you in the next video, guys. 6. Arrangement & Automation: Welcome back. In this video we going to start arranging the bit to get. So taking it from Luke mode to song mode, remember, Patton is Luke mode, song is the arrangement mode. Get. So this is what we have. Remember. Okay, Great. Now let's open the view play list. The arrangement window is opened. The arrangement window, as you can see here, this is the loop pattern one. So what are we going to do? We're going to split these two different patents. Remember I showed you that area, but I'm going to show you again. Okay, so these are patterns. We have everything in PET in one. So once we have the pair, the bed to the plan, the 800 eight in different patterns so that we can be able to do whatever one, put it in the arrangement window. Okay, so we're going to say split by China or to mitigate any bubble, bubble, bubble, bubble again. Now they separated. All right, great, great stuff. Okay, so I'm going to select the paired end OVS linked to plug base. Ghosts. It had, I had snare clip, right? This is it. Check this out. So I'm going to focus on the, the arrangement we known for now. So if you want to hide the browser for now, you can just go via view browser, left-click. It's got great. Let's Play. You can see it's not playing over here. Why? Because we are still in patent mode. So let's switch from pet into some mode. So let me duplicate this. Duplicate. Duplicate. We're going to start arranging care. We're just going to create an intro, hook and nervous. All right, great. So great. I want to remove all of these and just leave my pet. So what I'm gonna do over here, I'm just going to look at this spot because I want to create an interesting intro. And then what I'm gonna do is I'm going to filter these two. Okay, So I want to make it sound like an intro. So what I'm gonna do, I'm going to add a filter through tiller filter. We had where we had we're doing it. Is it boom. I'm going to simple training low-pass filter. Turn down the volume just a little bit and remove the second period. So what don't want this filter playing throughout the song? So all we're going to automate it again. This is where automation comes in. I'm going to turn down the volume now the mixed level is it again and right-click on the knob, create automation clip. You can see it's flat over here. What I'm going to do, I'm going to right-click create an edge point, create Creek denoted NIJ point. I just use one. Great. And boom. So let's hear it. Okay, I'm just going to enable this one and this one. Now the filter is gone without me minutest switching it on and off again. So that is automation. Again, it's great to add the interim phase. Just going to view them up rows over here. And to edit transition if it Yeah, I like this one. To zoom in and out control. Hold, scroll up and down using your mouse. Okay, great. So let's put it over. Yet. As you can see, it just disappears. Now what I'm going to do, I went to stretch this effect. Okay? So I'm going to switch over and stretch. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. So instead of cutting, it stretches and shrinks or the wave PFI school to slice. This. Nice. Okay, go to the brush tool. Right-click to remove that. Okay, Let's play it. Now. It's someone's low because we stretched the time, but do know our boat debt. We're just going to double-click to simple mode, which is going to set it to E3 generic. Now it's sums the same, okay? So I'm just going to look at these, but over year. Okay, let's send this to the mixin. And it don't just say, Yeah, I want to add a gate effective. So let's go to our groups bit. Go to half. Again when to leave as is because that is the only part where you will hear the transition, right? To start with the face and the smooth ER, the second period. Oh, okay, so to create a poll is overly, it just went to school what I'm going to do and what a potential slipped in and just would do on the piano roll is scope. With the drums. You just do the clipboard. All right. Let's save that. I wanted to make sense that we are going up, we're transitioning from these 200. Ok, OK. So I went to add transition. If we do that. Let's see if this works or were you zoom out. Okay, great. Send it to its own mix. A trip. Routine, so you get a script for now. If gas, I'm like this. This works. Yeah. Something like that. Okay. And it's too low. Okay. Senate two and M2 M6 subtract. You can also send the clip to an empty mix it just by opening its wrapper. Flip the arrow, route to free mix a trick. Too much detail because this group, like dead, like them. I wanted to convey this to be a bit different. So what I'm going to do, I'm going to add a filter to the second pant ocean. The precedence simple chain rule plus 10 and avoid them just a little bit. Great. Because it can't get loud again. So the strike led to automate create automation clip. Here you go. You can see it over here. No filtering. Second pan ocean. We don't have to create another clip because already have this one. So to paste this one, I'm just going to click on it with the brush tool and then click here, alright, great. Duplicate this. Because I want it to continue filtered like days. Okay? What I'm going to add them when I add the PAG, We're back. I went to add the gated effect. Over here. We can automate the switch on and off knob, also known as this one. All right, so let's automate this button. Switch it off now. Create automation clip. Go to the first bit. It's already great automation clip. I'm going to get these. What we get. So this is the power of automation. It makes. If beats interested in displaying some skill. Again, Let's add a snare and click on this. And like that. And 800 eight. I'm going to copy this, but this service outro that FizzBuzz outro year as 0s. So I'm going to control selected, shift, drag it to the other side. Again, a 1D, these pit quanti you filtered. Now. No, no, no. Let's take the OK. Great. Now we have an initial weight is don't listen to this. Hi. Hello. Okay. Here. It interesting. And that is how you take a loop trip to stretch it a bit that an artist can see rep or cry. Or in the next section of the course, we want to focus on mixing. That is where I will show you how to use your EQs. You could press Use your reverbs and delays to make sure that you have a clean and professional surrounding it. In the next section, we're going to focus on the mixing pot of bit. So great stuff. See you in the next video. 7. Mixing Kick & Bass: Welcome to Section 2 of the course. In this section, we're going to focus on mixing the bit starting with the Keq and 800 eight. So our main focus will be mixing the Keq and iterate, making sure they work well together in that low and space and adding more punch and enhancing, you already have an arrange bid. Let's play. Great. Let's look at the loudest part, which is the hook. Okay, let's go to the mixer, exit out. Solo the kick. Okay? The kicks sounds clean as is, but let's add an EQ just to see what's going on there. You can see this is where the dominant frequencies on this kick. A lot of people will tell you to chop off the top and from your key, chop off the low end from whatever instrument. But you have to be practical about your mixing if you want to have great mixes, for example, if a chop off this top end, check this out. We said. So now I'm removing what makes this KEQ dope and what makes this kickstand out. So in this kick, Aaron need to remove the top end at the very same time. The top end frequencies are not the dominant. Instead, they will just add more gravy Tamar, low, and top range. Okay. Check this out. I don't want my kid to sound like this. Yes. Some cakes you got a remove the top end is just noise, but in this one it works. I'm going to look for another dominant frequency. And 80 and 70. I just want to boost the punch holes to get score. So again, this is new to rule. Do what sounds right? Around 70, tree 70 heads. I'm going to leave my kick around year minus eight minus seven dB gain. Great. So let's go to the 800 eight real quick, we boosted the 73 heads on the kick is go to the 800, 803, I'm just going to dip it just a little bit. Since they are sharing the same space. I went to dip the 73 heads on the, on the arrow it because I my 800 eight to add as a base. Remember, as a kid could get careless, narrow it. Illustrated to remove the top n and see what happens. Yeah. Sounds great. But I don't want to go crazy with it, but you can drag it like this. I can hit harder. So what are we going to do now when I add a distortion plugin? Today I'm going to use a food T wave shaper. Using Fruit Loops, food T wave shape away with it. For two waveshape, but it's a distortion plug-in. Okay. So you do need to do is just adjust this ban or we check. Let's say now, I like that. Stan it down just a little bit. Okay, Let's turn down the airway just a little bit. Great stuff. Alright, great. We're going to use a wave plugin, which is an iron base plug-in, of course you went to a more meat to the base. Okay. So this is a base plug-in. A standard score slowly. Sounds great. So what I'm going to do now I'm going to add a distortion plugin just to give the arrow a mall grade. At the very same time, a 12, you to hear it even on smaller speakers. So what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna add a fast distortion. I'm going to use the preset, which is the heat. First desorption is NF2 to stop plugin. Let's play. Too much of it. So what we're going to do now we're going to side chain the Keq and a2 eight, which is the last step. Okay, so psychogenic basically is a way to make room for the kick and 8 or 8 at the same time. Okay, So it's the effort they use on EDM tracks when the kick hits the 800 eight goes down in volume. So I'm going to show you how to do it in FL Studio K. So the first thing I'm going to do, we're going to select the kick and then go to this arrow over here, the 800 eight, make sure that kicked China, the selected right-click side chain to the strict select a side chain to the stroke node, side chain to the stroke on L6 side chain to this truck. Okay, Well, great. And then we go to the 800 eight track. We add a fruity, we're going to use a fruity limiter. The side chaining, okay? We're set it to compress. It will switch on side chain one. Okay? You can only switch on side chain one if you did the first step, which is clicking the kick and selecting side chain to the stroke. Okay, so fruity limiter. So what are we going to do? We're going to set the attempt to foster 0 release 00, the knee all the way up, the ratio all the way up, sorry, and the knee all the way up. Let's turn the threshold down. Now let's play the music. Hey, let's go crazy little bit. Scope, crazy. Slow attack. No slow-release or check this out. Steeping the volume. This is the Keq. When it hits the arrow, it goes down in volume and comes back foster care. So we're going to make sure the release is around three milliseconds. Let's play. Okay. But soften the threshold just a little bit. Because I don't want you to hear the deep. This is a hippo track. Again with the released that set it to 12 and 9, five milliseconds. Okay, great. So the great thing about it, you can hear the key clearly. You can hear the arrow it clearly, but crazy enough, they are sharing the same frequency space. That is the magic of site chaining. Okay, let's play now the low-end sounds type. So in the next video we're going to start using Ito's panning leveling. Okay, see you in the next video, guys. 8. EQ, Levels, Panning: Welcome back. In this video, we're going to start adding EQs and the purpose of painting and leveling. Okay, so let's play the song. Let's add the snare. Let's add an EQ to the snare. We're going to set it to highpass filter. Ocher, little bit of boost. Just 3.9 d b is four dB boost. Again. And choose the fruit to maximise. Girls at the fruit to maximize, we're going to use a preset. Warmness, no latency and precent. All right, great. Let's play. Push it down. Now the snare sounds hard, disk and warm at the same time as n muscles. Eto. I pass just ten, it does a little bit. It's bringing the highlights. Again instead highpass filter the high heads. As you can see, this is where the termination sequences are. So she's going to go straight to it. You don't want to go crazy. Unless you want to create some type of effect or change the tone. Intentional login. This is fine, what we get. So remember, in a live setting where these musicians playing, these always sounds that are playing from the layer, from the right and everything. So even if you're using a computer to making music, always remember that for your music to some realistic, you gotta apply panels. Hope we can have everything dead center. Okay, so I'm going to send my head hits tool the left. Again, just to fill up the stereo field again. Spin it down just a little bit. And under 800 eight. So it's nice to number Claire. Sounds great. Let's bring in the instruments. Start with the paired. Okay, Let's solo. The pair is add an EQ. This is where the dominant frequencies in the mid-range, the top range. Okay. So we'll go in to remove below n was just noise and it's just, it's just not as good as Chopin's. Again, it's a little bit of the top end, right? Okay. Let's look for the Stereo Separation knob. This is it, this is the Managing tool to the right. This is the separating tool to the left. Okay. So let's widen the page just a little bit. I'm just going to do 10 percent and then still wash 5% grade, say school to the second bird. There's already an each we're just going to turn on the volume just a little bit. Why didn't it just drew explicit? So why didn't this one? Just to visit an EQ over here. Some of the low end is already reverb and delay over here. So as dopa as is, Let's play everything. Okay, let's pin this one to the right and see if it sounds just a little bit to the right. So open up some room, bringing them together. This from the left to the right. To create perturbation clip. We're going to pin it. Gets a little bit grit sounds to families. And so I'm going to duplicate automation clip, right? Well, let's see. Sounds great, Sounds great. So in the next video, we're going to focus on compression, reverb and delay. You see in the next video. 9. Compressor, Reverb, Delay: Let's select the loudest part. Okay, let's add compress into the main sounds for consistency. Ok. So the waves are compressed. Compress. Great. So every compressor, you will find a threshold or ratio again, a tick and released nope again. So the threshold is the point where the compression start compressing. So everything after the threshold point will be compressed, everything before they won't be compressed. So the ratio is the amount of compression you want to apply a 50 to one heavy, heavy, heavy compression, okay? And we have a gain knob. So after compression we lose some volume because you're trying to create consistency, which is bringing down the high sounds, which is the mountains, and lifting up the low sounds, which is the valleys for consistency. Okay. You don't want to overdo it because it's going to sound horrible. So you just have to be practical and use your ears get. So the attack is how fast the compressor grubs to signal the releases of first lets go of the signal. Okay, let's play. Okay, let's set it to two to one. Set the attempt to 40. The easiest one to get the volume. You use the makeup gain to make up for the display. Let's get another lesson. This, remove this. Now we don't need a compressor on this one, I guess so I wanted to add reverb and delay to some insurance. So let's go to the same triangles, cancel. This is our central right-click. Right-click. You, you're saying China's, alright, great. So this reverb set the color delay. The green. Accept, said, Okay, let's edit a fruit derivative t2 over a year and it's edit daily. Routine delayed three the new the new fruity delay. Okay. Okay. I want to point to send my high heads to the delay. So what I'm gonna do, I'm going to select the high head and go to the sand volume over year. So S2 reverb. Look at your hint China sent to revamp. It tells you how much you sending. So status, I'm going to send 50 percent. Go to the reverb. China. Increased the room size. Okay, click Reset on the wet level. We don't need the dry signal over here and a switcheroo. Sit the DK2, too sick. Also have two bands. Yeah, this is a low and high could be moved from the right side. From the left side again. So this is the top end. Pushed a little bit. It was put in, I know too much. 2%. I want to add a delay on these. Select the correct. Great, great. Let's listen to remove all the IV solution for me. Here's difference. That's it for the mixing section. See you in the next video. 10. Final Words: Welcome back. We have come to the end of the course, are really hope you guys have lent a lot from the course. But please remember to be patient with yourself. Learning a new skill takes time, and it takes a lot of repetition. The more you repeat the same information over and over again, the faster your mind will get to understand it. Okay, So please be patient with yourself. Go back and rewatch the videos over and over again and practice what I show you. Okay, I will also add the project file, which is the Fruity Loops project file on the course for you to download, play around. So please, please, please be patient with yourself. Don't get frustrated because you just started producing music. My name is cerebellar syndrome bits September and I'm signing out.
