1. Intro To SEO Training: Congratulations on making it to this online training. I'm so excited that you're here and that we're gonna get your business ranked on the first page of Google. My name is Adrian Homer. Again, I'm a professional marketer. Over the last few years, I've worked with over a dozen businesses and helped them grow by getting new customers through a variety of different marketing methods. One of them being SEO and organic traffic, getting organic traffic to come to a website and converting that traffic into leads and ultimately new customers. In 2019, I helped one business grow their organic traffic by 500 percent and they did $300 thousand in sales from organic traffic alone. In October of 2020, that same business had one deal that was worth over $60 thousand from a lead that came in from organic traffic. So that's the power that SEO can have and that's how it can help grow your business. So I'm super excited you're here. I'm going to just introduce a little bit about this online training so you know what to expect and then we can go ahead and get started. I've come up with a proven method that once you learn and apply on to your business, you can get ranked on the first page of Google. My goal is to make this training as simple and applicable to you as possible, easy to apply to your business so you can get results as fast and easy as possible. Even if you have a lot of competitors in your area, I'm confident that with the advanced SEO methods, tips, and strategies I show you and that you apply, you should be able to outrank even your competitors. And the reason I can say that confidently is because most local businesses don't spend thousands of dollars a month on professional SEOs to help them get ranked. A lot of franchises maybe do that. Or large companies that can afford advanced SEOs to help them get ranked. But for locally owned businesses, it's not as doable and not as widely seen. So that's why with this proven method that I've used to help many businesses get on the first page of Google. I'm confident that even if you have competitors, you can outrank them and get your business on the first page for your local area that you serve. At the end of this training, once you've made it through everything and applied all the methods that I show you. And go ahead and schedule a 15-minute free call with me. So once you've made it through the end of this training, there's a little link at the bottom where you can schedule a one-on-one call with me and we can review what you've done as we start applying my proven method to your business, this is what you'll need. First, you need access to a wet your website. You need to be able to create and publish content on your website, whether it be a blog post or page with a title and a URL. So if you can do that or if you have somebody else manage your site, try to get access to it, get some login credentials, but that is the first thing that you will need access to. So you'll need a website and you'll need to be able to publish content on your website. If you don't have a website, I would recommend getting that set up first and then come back to this training once you have simple URL, a domain, and a website setup for your business. Now, whether you're a business owner, a manager, or an employee that wants to get a ranked for your local business. This course is for you and this training will help you accomplish just that. I've made this online training super-simple and as you follow along with me and apply the steps along with me as we go through this training, you will be able to grow your organic traffic and get ranked. So bookmark this page, click on any of the section headings below, and it'll take you straight to that section and save the password that you've gotten your email and then go at your own pace. You can come back to this training anytime, anywhere from your phone or computer. And you will need access to your website though so that you can apply everything I show you as we move down this training. And by the end, we can have our one-to-one call. And then you should be set up to be ranked on the first page of Google.
2. What Is SEO And How Does It Work: In this video, I want to go over what SEO is and the theory of SEO so that you can have the right mindset and approach SEO the right way to grow your organic traffic and get new customers. So let's dive in to what SEO is and how it works. Seo is an acronym for search engine optimization. Seo started right along with the first search engines and the Internet such as Google. Back in the nineties, search engines like Google, Yahoo, being Duck, Duck Go, all work relatively the same way. It's an algorithm that scans every piece of content on the Internet, skins the code of the content to understand what that content is, and it will plug it into search results as people search for different things. Search engine's goal is to provide the most relevant and best results based on a user's search. So if I type in a coffee shop near me and I'm in Salt Lake City, Utah. Google will provide me on the first page the most what its algorithm thinks and deems to be the best results for that search. So our goal is to understand that algorithm, understand what it looks at, and create a piece of content that will position you on the first page of Google. So the first thing you need to understand is that search engines crawl with something called crawling bots. Every piece and line of code on every piece of content across the entire web, the over the Internet, and determines how it positions in rankings depending on search terms, websites are built using codes such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS. You don't need to understand or know these codes at all. Just understanding how the Internet is built, we'll help out. So browsers such as Safari or Internet Explorer Firefox display that code it reads and displays that code is a visible functional website. And search engines such as Google scan that content to understand it and see how it can plug it into search results. So search engines are like Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Yahoo. They scan the internet and put up results that users click on. Browsers, read websites code and displays it so we can actually see it and use it. And those are some key things we need to understand before moving forward. So when we talk about SEO, we want to create content that search engines algorithm will scan and understand and position for a certain search term we want to rank for. We can manipulate our content so that it is ranking for certain search terms and keywords. So if I've lost, you already, don't worry about it. Everything will make more sense as we move through this training. But for now, the simple version of what SEO is is it is search engines that scan the Internet and plug-in content for people search results. That's in a nutshell, what SEO is. For example, if somebody searches for custom printed flags, it's a user looking for someone who wants to buy some flags, maybe for the restaurant. Google will then scour the Internet. It already has and it understands all the content and it will put it on the first page of Google, the most relevant content for that search. If we want to rank for that keyword, then we'll create content that is aligned around that search term to help us get ranked more, we want to make sure our content is the best fit for that search term. And we do that by understanding the algorithm and the ranking factors that Google and other search engines look at to determine how a piece of content should be positioned in a search results. So if we can create a piece of content that gets ranked for our desired search term, people will click on it, go to your website. You'd then have the opportunity to capture them as a lead and turn them into a customer. Now that we understand what SEO is and how it works a little bit, Let's move on and dive into how we can actually start creating content that gets ranked.
3. Creating Your Title and URL: Hey, how's it going, everyone? Don't mind the glasses I was wearing contacts in the last video. So we're going to move on and start applying and creating content to get you ranked. So we're going to dive right in and actually start with a brand new page that we can optimize to rank for your local business. I mentioned that there are over 200 ranking factors that Google and other search engines look at to determine how to position content on a search results page. On-page optimization means optimizing content to rank for a specific keyword. On-page optimization is one of two branches of SEO and is super important. And it will make or break your success with organic traffic. So it's important to get it right. But don't stress too much about getting everything perfect, especially as you're learning. And on your first attempt with ranking content, you'll learn as we go and over time get better and soon you'll be able to just do things second nature and be creating optimized content on a regular basis. As we go through the rest of this training will be focusing on creating one piece of content and ranking that one piece of content. And instead of going over all of the ranking factors and making a long video about everything you can do. And believe me, it could be a masterclass on just on-page optimization. We're going to just take it one step at a time and do one ranking factor at a time as we go through this training. Then when we're all done, we'll be able to sit back and see the whole picture and how everything comes together. So don't worry about doing it all. We're just going to focus on one factor at a time. And I'm going to do it along this training and then you can do it along with me. So the first on-page optimisation factor we're going to focus on is the title and URL of your content. It's time to start the process along with me, you're going to have to log into your website client, whether it be WordPress, Wix, Shopify, or another content management system and create a new page. Don't move along with me until you have a new page ready to add content to. The first thing a new page needs is a title. Your title shows up on search results and your website and might be the most important on-page optimization factor that Google looks at when trying to understand what your content is about. So we want to make sure your title includes the keyword you want to rank for. Instead of doing a ton of keyword research and finding all of the keywords related to your business that you could rank for. We're just going to focus on one that will help get your business ranked locally on the first page of Google. So here's the structure of your title should follow. Your title should include your number one service or products category, your location you're trying to rank in. And a value slash clickbait type warning at the end. I'm going to read off some examples of titles so you know what I mean? So we want to have service plus your location that you're targeting and plus some value clickbait type text. Here's what I mean. Tanning salon, Denver, number one rated in 2020. Carpet cleaner, Wichita. Oh, sorry. Carpet cleaner in Wichita, five-star service, number one rated in 2020. Best residential electrician in Clarksville, 100% guarantee. Massage therapy to sun, best value, number one rated in 2020. So just as you can see from hopefully from that, I list the business, service or product category, for example, massage therapy, then the location, Tucson, then a clickbait slash value that will entice people to click when they see it, which will be best value number 1 rate in 2020. Or in other cases, you can do a 100 percent guarantee, five-star service number one rated. Other things that distinguish your service, makes it better or distinguishes it as your unique selling proposition. You could add maybe a lifetime warranty if you offer that money-back guarantee, things like that. Here's another example. Wedding care, wedding caterer, St. George, most affordable, best value. This could be a wedding cake caterer in St. George that is more affordable, lower price, and just has a good overall value when people are searching for that, that will entice people to click when they see it. You can even mix and match location and service like Denver's number one tanning salon. 2020, best value. So you put Denver first, then the business service tanning salon, and then the value Denver's number one, tanning salon 2020, best value. So that's kind of all mixed up. But you want to have those three elements for sure. Notice that all of these examples are different, especially the last value part. So get creative mix and match and come up with a enticing title that has your location you're targeting, your service or product category. And then some value text somewhere in there that will help people want to click on your content title link when it shows up in search results. So now I'm going to make a new page on my own website. I'm using WordPress, but if you're using something else, that's okay, just follow along with me. I'm going to share my screen and show you what I'm doing. And then you can apply the same things on your website. So now I'm going to share my screen and so you can follow along with me. I'm on my computer now, I'm logged into my WordPress dashboard. I'm going to go over here to pages and click new page. And again, this is going to look different if you're using a different content management systems such as Wix or Shopify. But find out and if you don't know how then do some YouTube and find how to make a new page on your website. And I'm going to use the title for my own marketing business here. Amuse the this title. Paste this in. So this is right here my title, SEO services bountiful, highly rated plus results guarantee. And then I'm going to hit Publish now, depending on your site, if you publish a page, it might show up in your navigation automatically mind doesn't. So I'm just going to publish it for now. And then once I'm done with it, I will. Because we're not even close to being done. Then I'll tell Google that it's ready to be added to search results. So one thing I'm actually going to do is I have this SEO plugin installed on my WordPress site. If you are using WordPress add recommend downloading the plug-in Yoast SEO. It is free and I'm going to go down here and hit allow search engines to show this page of search results. And I'm going to hit No, should search engines following films page just leave it as yes. And then when I'm done with the page, I'm going to change this to yes. And then that way it will start showing up in search results, but I don't want it to show up. So for now, I'm going to leave it as is. So moving on, notice that I have right here with this app. This is how it will show up in search results. So site title, I'm going to delete that. I don't want my site title. So now and the separator. And then it's just the title and the page, SEO services bountiful. So this is an example of how it will show up in search results. Seo service has bound for Hillary plus hurdle is going t. So if people see that in search results, they're highlighted. Click it because it says highly rated results guarantee, which offers value. And they're searching for SEO services in the location of bountiful. And so I'm going to publish it just so we can see what it looks like and moving on to something else we need to pay attention to already. So notice that I am using a specific service rather than a general business idea. So I am a marketer. I offer, if you look at the homepage of my website, offer a lot of services to help businesses grow and a lot of different marketing Services. But I'm focusing on one of them being SEO. So another example of this is, so for example, if I'm trying to rank a spot and a beauty business, I would focus on ranking for one service like pedicure or face mask or massage rather than Spock. So in that example, the title would look something like best pedicure service, Wichita number one rated best value rather than best spot Wichita, number one rated best value. And then I would recommend being as specific, so that will look different for whatever your business is. But going back to making a specific service rather than just trying to rank for your business generally. And this is a benefit because when you're hyper-focused on one service, you are more likely to rank. And then when you get people coming in for that one service, you can cross-sell and up-sell your other services. And then when you're done with this training, you can duplicate the same process throughout this whole training with all of your services. So once we're done with one service, you can do the same thing for your other services and then make a page for your general business as well, which I'd recommend doing on your homepage. And that's a whole other SEO course. On its own. So right now, I would recommend focusing on one service. Putting that in your title with your location you want to target. So now something else we want to make sure is applied is to our title is the H1 tags. And this is what I mean. So by default, when I make a new page in WordPress, the title automatically shows up right here, and it is already in H1 tags. And let me show you what I mean. Right here I can see the source code. You can see right here there's an H one, then the title, and then it ends h one right here. But if your site doesn't do that automatically, then make sure that you wrap it in H1 tags. You can do that by editing the HTML of your page and Shopify. There's a little HTML on the top right in WordPress, it's this text tab. And then put a opening bracket, H1 closing bracket. And then at the end of your title, put opening bracket forward slash one, and that closes the tag and then closing bracket, just like that. And this is very important for your title. So now we have this one title. And that tells Google that you, your title is the highest priority. It just makes it a Google aware that this in fact is your title. And then as you can see, I have two of them now here because I did one here, but I already have it. So I'm just going to delete this, but just make sure your title is wrapped in those H1 tags. So now moving on to another important thing we want to look like, look at which is the URL. So let's take a look at the URL. So right here is the permalink, which is the URL. Now we want to change this URL to only include the service and location, and we're going to take off the value text. So SEO service is bountiful is all I want and I'm going to delete this hit, Okay? And that way It's hyper-focused on our service or our product category and the location, and that's it. Another thing that you wanna do is depending on what website management system you use if it's not wordpress, figure out how to change the link structure so that, But be careful so you don't ruin links across your whole site. Notice here how it's my domain marketing dot Adrian harbor.com, forward slash and then my keyword. You want to put your keyword as close to your domain as possible. So here's some examples of what not to do. Here's an example I had, another example I have so we can do so if my title and another example is best residential electrician in Clarksville, one to a 100 percent guarantee. And my domain is mom's electrician.com, then I would make it mom's electrician.com forward slash residential electrician, Clarksville. And I put little dashes in between the words. So you see, this is my keyword, best residential electrician in Clarksville. This is my whole title. And that's what I want to show up in search results. But then the URL is going to be different from the title. Url is just going to be the location and service. So here's an example of what not to do. Moms electrician.com, forward slash 1234, forward slash pages, forward slash services, forward slash residential electrician Clark's film. That's an example of a URL page hierarchy that a lot of websites are built using. There's a time and place for that structure, but it's not here. You usually see this if your page is a sub page of a parent page, for example, you're doing your domain is the homepage, then you have different services, and then you have sub services on your menu. And so that would make sense. But for our purposes, we want to cut out the middle fluff and make Google now specifically what our page is about. Now that you've gotten your title and URL setup on your page, make sure you save your progress. I went ahead and just publish the page, but it's not I made sure to edit a little thing that makes it so that won't show up on Google and it won't show up anywhere on my website. So you can do that or you can just save as draft, which is just as good. And then once the page is all set up, we will publish it and then let Google know it has arrived, but we'll get to that later. For now, let's move on to other on-page optimization techniques and factors. So we should have our title and our URL set up really well to rank for a service and location. And then as we add content to our page and do other things, then it'll be ready. But this is the first step in doing that. So this is what my page will look like in search results. Seo services, bountiful, highly rated plus results guarantee. Notice on all my examples, I put the value texts in parentheses. That is a catch here I moral catch the person's eye more in search results. And then it separates it as kind of a sub title. And if we go back to our examples, you'll see that I put everything in parentheses. And then if I have two things, I'll separate it. So five-star service with the little bar here, number one rated 2020 having parentheses. And it kind of makes it a subtitle and stands out and still adds value. So you get your main title and then some value and it makes, catches people's eye and will help get more clicks once it is on the search results page. So I think that covers everything for the title and URL. On on-page optimization. Make sure you have this step done before we move on. And now let's go ahead and move on to other on-page optimization techniques and ranking factors.
4. Adding Content To Your Page: Okay, so now that we've got our title and URL setup, we're going to move on and start adding content to our page. So I'm going to share my screen again over here. And I have my page here up in WordPress. Now I use a theme builder, or sorry, a page builder premium paid for page builder and theme. But I'm going to avoid that for now and just create content in a simple layout here. Wordpress. If you have a page builder, I would recommend using it so you can just format and make it look a little bit better. But I'm just going to create content here to keep things simple. And if you have, if you don't use WordPress, you can just follow along with me and try to just make it look as good as you can, all adding your content to a page if you're using a site builder and you can't add content to a page, then do some research on YouTube. Maybe even contact support and ask them how you can add your custom content to your page. So the first thing we want to do now is create a sales pitch and CTA, which is a call to action. So once people click on this page, the first thing you wanna do is capture their attention, sell them on your service and then give them a call to action or CTA to help drive a action. Whether it be submitting a contact form, a quote form, calling, or visiting your store's location. So what I'm going to do, okay, so we want to write a paragraph pitching the service you're trying to rank for talking about the value and benefits or any unique selling points that distinguish your service. Make sure there is a clear call to action. So, and these are some examples of color actions. So let me go ahead and write that out. Seo services bound for highly rated results guaranteed. All right, so I just wrote out a paragraph here and a call to action. All I have to do is link. And I'm going to copy my link I here. So I'm going to link this call to action. And right here. So let me just read this real quick and see you can see what the paragraph is if you're looking to gain organic traffic to your website, and this is my example for SEO services bountiful. If you're looking to gain organic traffic to your website to ultimately gain new customers. You've come to the right place. My name is Adrian Hall Berg and I'm a professional digital marketer. I offer SEO services to businesses and bountiful and other cities. Notice how I use the keyword SEO services and bountiful, right in my first paragraph. So you wanna make sure to include your title keyword, which is your service and location you're targeting and put it in somewhere in your first paragraph, just as I did. And that will let Google know. Again, besides your title that this is content about SEO services in Bountiful, hi, create an SEO strategy built specifically for your business. I offer results guarantees so you don't have to worry about spending any money in this. I can get you the results you're looking for. So don't waste any time looking online or missing out on new customers that are searching the web for a business like yours. Click here to start a free. Oh, click here to start for free. Once you fill out this short application. Once you fill out, I'm going to put, once you fill out a short application form, I'll start creating an SEO strategy for your business. Then I'll be in touch and scheduled time for us to meet one-on-one and review the growth strategy. Are you ready to get your business discovered online by new customers looking for the products and services you offer, then fill out the short application and let's get started. So notice I have a call to action. Click here to start for free is the call to action. Then I'd kinda expand on it. And then I offered again, are you ready, Get your business discovered online, then fill out the short application. Let's get started. And this is a little redundant, so I'm just going to shorten this. Are you ready to get your business discovered on the line? I'm going to delete all that, then fill out the short application gets started. So now we have our paragraph ready to go. So that includes a paragraph. Selling myself, selling the service, explaining some value. I have some you have to include value. And basically it's a sales pitch and then a call to action that drives action towards either visiting your store location. You can put call now to schedule an appointment, whatever it is you want, whatever action you want a prospect to make to get them to contact you or whatever to gain that new customer that lead to gain that lead, put it in there in the form of a call to action. Now, we're going to go on and add more things to this page. The first thing I want to do is add any reviews, recommendations that creates more value by other people recommending we're reviewing this service. So I'm going to copy this. Come back over to my page. I'm going to paste down, here's what people say about SEO for their business. And I'm just going to paste this. Whoops, paste. And then format it to make sure it looks good. Here's what people say about I'm going to specify it to my SEO. Work for their business. I'm trying to make it about them. So if you don't have any reviews or recommendations, you can even just put something in that basically gets people excited and makes people see you as a industry leader and as a credible business solution, whatever that may be. All right, so now I have two reviews and or recommendations whenever you have another good thing if you do have reviews online sale on Google, paste in some stars, if it's a five-star review, then put out your review, the person who said it, and then go online, download five-star image and paste it right in here as a five-star review. But this is what I have going on, so foreign. And then the other thing that you wanna do is add an image somewhere in this first party or content. So we can do that in a couple of ways. I'm going to just put it right below my first paragraph. And let me show you how to optimize an image for SEO. So I'm gonna go to my image library if you're working in another another page or sorry, content management system not in WordPress such as Wix or something else. Figured out how to add images to your page and put in an image. Now, this one works and this is the important part. When you put in your embed your image on your page, you want to edit the image, edit the image details in Shopify know you can right-click on it and click or double-click on it or something like that. Or just find out a way where you can edit the actual image. And then right here we want to pay tax, pay attention to the alt text, title and description. So right here we have our alt text and I'm going to paste SEO services bountiful right there. I'm going to change the title to SEO services bountiful. And even in the description, I'm going to put SEO services bountiful. And then in the caption, I'm going to put something else that includes the target keyword, the service, and location. But then I'm going to change it up because this will be visible. So I'm gonna put example of SEO. Grow, growth, cheese for a bow down if full business. So now this is different, but it includes SEO and bountiful example of SEO growth for a bountiful business. So insert that into my post again. And you see here it's right under there. Now I'm going to edit to make it big. And then I'm going to center it. So now I'm going to update my page and let's take a look of how it looks. So we should have a paragraph that sells and it has a value about our service, a clear call to action an image, and then update the image and edit the alt text title description, and then put a caption at the bottom of it as well. And then put in any reviews or recommendations you have. And then that'll be off to a good start. I already updated. So let's take a look, see how our page looks so far. So right here, SEO services, bountiful, highly rated results guarantee. Now, I'm going to touch on one more thing, but this is what it looks like so far. So it's looking pretty good. You can see the end. I'm going to show you the HTML texts real quick. So all of this code is what Google and other search engines scan to understand what your page is about. So as we expand on this. Read this title, it will read that it has SEO and bountiful in the text. It will read these links that go to get started as a call to action. It will read this image, which is right here. I'll read the image link, the alt text, the description, and the caption. And right here you can see in my code it says WordPress caption text, example of SEO growth from Bountiful business. So all of this is telling Google that this page is about SEO services and bountiful and it's more likely to rank. So I'm going to close that. And this is what we're looking at so far and we're looking good. So like I said, in my last video, I use this app called Yoast SEO. And if you are using WordPress, I'd recommend downloading it. And then right here, the Meta description is what shows up in search results as a description. So let me show you an example of search results. I'm going to put it into keyword custom printed flags. Go down to some organic rankings. And right here, Here's the title, and then underneath is a description. And then depending on the code, you can even have five-stars, like these ones are. So you can see all these, these are ads, so we won't pay attention to those. So we want to include that. If you're using this app, you can write it right here. So I will, I'm going to just copy what I wrote at the top. If you don't have that app and you're using another website builder, then by default, Google just takes the first few lines of your content. So whatever you want to show up in search results, which is usually a sales pitch. So I'll show you what I mean. I'm going to copy and paste this first sentence, and I'm going to paste it down here so you can see what will look like. So right here you can see bomb, it shows up. And the images here too, which is great. So you can see that Google is just going to automatically pulled the very first words in your content so you wanna make sure those words are selling and enticing people that will see your search results to click on it. So I just copied and pasted right here, and this is what it'll look like. So here's my title and then the description. If you're looking to gain organic traffic to your website, then to ultimately gain new customers, you've come to the right place. So if I read that in search results and I'm looking for SEO services and bountiful, I'm really likely to click on that because it's sounding good so far. And then I see this little graphic of traffic going up. So that's perfect. If you don't have a setting, I know you can edit this in Shopify as well actually if you're using that, and I don't know about Wix and other sites, but by default, Google will pull the first few lines. So make sure your first sentence is enticing. And if you can edit the specific meta description, then go ahead and you can even change it and make it different. But I'm just going to leave it as the same. So we're looking good so far. I'm going to update this. And I'm actually going to, at this point, I'm going to change this. I'm setting that says don't allow search results. I'm going to hit Yes. So I'm going to allow Google to actually show this page because at this point it's ready enough if it does just so far show up in search results and people click on it and see it. Then I have my call to action and I have a way to capture the traffic coming to this page. So it's not finished, but it's ready to at least show up if it can't. So I'm going to hit Update and then we should be good to go. So make sure you create content like this, don't you doesn't have to be exactly like mine, but make it your own. Just make sure you have the right elements and the elements are sales pitch in a paragraph, clear call to action, image with meta-description, alt text and goes, oh, a caption, and then some reviews and recommendations as well. Now if you're a local business, we're gonna do one more thing. I actually am not a local business, particularly since I do marketing, I can serve clients across the country. But since you're a local business, you should have a Google business account. If you don't, go ahead and go to Google My Business Create Account and make, and then you put in your address, you're going to have to confirm your address and go through that whole process and then come back here. And we're going to want to embed a map of your location on the page, even if you don't have a physical store put in the address of the office you operate of. It can even be your own house. As long if you're operating out of your house as a business, that's okay. You just need to have a map somewhere ready to go. So we won't put that in here quite yet. But this is the difference. If you are a brick and mortar and you have a local location for our storefront location, then you're definitely going to want to embed the map right here in the front. So I'm just gonna do that as a quick example. So I'm going to find. This in maps. This is my dad's photography business that he operates out of his store. Embedded maps. So if you just go to Google Maps and put in your address, then copy this HTML click Share and then embedded. And then I'm gonna come back over to my page. And if you don't have your business up on Google Maps, on Google in the form of Google Maps, then you're going to want to set that up. So once you've set that up, I'm going to click here and click on text or HTML. And I'm going to paste that code right here. I'm also going to come back here. And then now you can see the map is embedded. I'm going to center it. Now. My business is little bit different, so I am not a local business. I can serve customers across the country. So the map, I pulled this from my dad's business and it is different from the location I'm targeting in my example. But in your case, and for you, I would highly recommend using a embedding a map of your business location, whether it be a physical store or just the office or maybe your home that you operate out of. And make sure it matches the location that you're targeting. If your map is different from the location you're targeting, I would update your title to the location that matches where your business is now, embedding a map on your content is good for two reasons. The first is if you are, have a physical location where customers come to, such as a dental office, a spa, massage therapy or something like that. Then you want to embed your map near the top of your content right after, right after your sales pitch and call to action. That way, when customers land on this page, they can click directions and come visit your physical location and see exactly where you are located. Then the second thing or the second benefit. And this is where it's beneficial to embed a map, even if you, for those businesses who serve a local region, but they don't have a physical store. Maybe you just work out of your house, but you work with clients in your region. And you're going to want to embed a map, but then put it at the bottom of your content. Once we're done adding all of our content, put it at the end. Because you don't necessarily want to drive people to your location. But it's important that to at least have a map embedded on your page for this second reason. And the reason is when people are searching for your service and they're in the area that you're targeting or around it, such as a bound for your location. Google will connect the dots and it will read your content. You'll see that you're this contents about this service. You're in this location, but then it will scan your page and read the code of your map. And it will see that you have an embedded Google map and that map location matches the location you're targeting. So I'll connect those dots and anybody who's searching for your service that's in your targeted area, they're more likely to see your content ranked on the first page of Google if you have a map on your page because then Google knows that you're actually in that location and Google's crawling bots that scan your page will connect the dots and I'll see that, oh, you have a map in this location. Your title is in this location. Your title is the service and somebody's looking for that service and that person is in the location and we'll connect all those dots and help you get ranked. So if you have a physical address that customers come to embed your map near the top of your page like I have here. If you just serve a local region but you don't have a store front, then make sure you still have a Google business account setup with your address, whether it be your house, that's okay. And then put it at the bottom of your content. That way, it's for Google's sake rather than a person visiting your page. And when it comes to on-page optimization, there's two branches within that. One is optimizing for the algorithm, which is Google's 200 ranking factors. And then the second is optimizing for user experience. So some of these things we're doing is for user experience. For example, putting a map at the front of your content. If you have a physical location is better user experience so that if somebody lands on your page, they can find your business having a call to action and a sales pitch right at the beginning is user experience. Having a reviews or recommendations is user experience. These things will help a physical human being when they see your content and buy into your business, they'll learn about your business and it will help push them to actually come visit your business or whatever action you want them to take, whether it be calling them, submitting online form or something like that. But once somebody lands on your page, you want to actually lead them to take action to become a customer. So if you don't have a Google business account, just go on Google and type in Google business setup an account, putting your address, and then you can go to Google Maps once you've gone through that process of confirming your address, and then you can go here. So I'm in Google Maps. I type in a business. You hit Share, embed map, copy HTML, and then paste that HTML in to your content. Whatever kind of content management system you use. You can do this in WordPress or Shopify or Wix or any other thing. So I'm going to update it. So now I have a map and again, this is my example. My service, my location and targeting in my, in my title does not match the map because I am not a local business. But for your case, you are in this is the same method I use when I'm trying to rank other local businesses. So there you go. I hope that covers everything. Make sure you have all this done before you move on, you're going to want to image with the proper description, alt, texts and caption. You're going to want a sales pitch, a clear call to action. Make sure you put in your keyword, which is your target service and location. Put it right in the beginning. So this is kinda like the keyword right here. So when Google scans this page, sees your title in H1 tags. It sees it reads your URL, which is your keyword and location. It reads your, your keyword and location here in the content. It again reads it in your image, in the caption, again in your map, and then it sees more content in your reviews and recommendations. So, and then it reads these links, it reads, Google's algorithm will read everything on your content, anything that is code, it will read it and try to understand it. And that's why we need to create this content as we do so that the algorithm knows what our content is about. It's about in my example here, SEO services bountiful, and then it's user optimized as well. So if somebody actually lands here, it's ready to go. So I'm going to update this and I'm going to change that setting I did in a previous video. I changed it so that I know that it's my pages and done, but if somebody does find it, it actually will work though. I'll lead them to fill out a form. So I'm going to change my setting to allow search engines to show this page of search results. And I hit yes, that way, we're not done. But at this point, once you're done with this step, you can make sure it's visible in search results. If you're saved and draft, you can go ahead and publish the page and will continue to make edits to it, but at least the page is technically usable, right? If somebody does see this in search results and clicks on it, they'll be able to follow through your call to action, whether it be to call for an appointment, fill out a form, or whatever your call to action is. They'll find directions. They'll see an image, they'll see recommendations and reviews. So this page is technically ready to be used and to show up in search results. So I go, I went ahead and did that, but we're going to continue to make more Edit.
5. Adding 2k+ Words And Content Linking: Okay, Now that we've added some information about the service that we're talking about on this page and have a clear call to action as well as embedded map or in some reviews and recommendations. And remember, if you don't have a local store front that you're trying to drive customers to a physical location. Then save the embedded map for the bottom of the page for Google's algorithms safe, but not necessarily when people come to the page to come to your store. So we're going to move on now and start adding more content to our page. And one of the top five biggest ranking factors that goes out and looks at is the amount of content. And in other words, the word count, how many words a page has and the longer generally the better. Because it tells algorithm that this is an informative piece of content that has a lot of information which is beneficial to users searching the web. So we're gonna go ahead and add 2 thousand plus words on this page in kind of a blog style format. But we're going to space out sections with images. We're going to add images, maybe even some gifts and if you have them, videos. And then we're going to optimize the images, gifts and videos, and having multiple types of content, different files. So if it's a video will be dot mp4. If it's an image, it can be dot JPEG or PNG. And if it's a gift, there'll be dot GIF. And that is good to have a dynamic content because it also tells the algorithm that there's a lot of different kinds of content elements on this page, which is generally a better user experience. So help your on-page optimization get your page ranked a little bit better. So in this section that to do here, adding short paragraphs. And the way you write for a webpage or a blog is different than you'd write other mediums of content. You want to break it up into smaller sections and give a lot of space. And then you also want to just keep the user on the page as much as possible by engaging them asking questions using headers. And so we're gonna go ahead and go through all of that. And at the end of this video, at the bottom of this video, I'll have a little template that shows how a page laid out. So you make sure you have a checklist and a template for the type of content you want on your page. So for now, I'm going to start editing my page. And this is one thing I'm going to add actually on this page. So we talked about having H1 tags on our title. After that, all other headers we want to do H2. So I'm going to add a header here that says ret come recommendations for. And remember we want to try and use our keyword and location as much as we can naturally in our content, but don't use it too much or it's blatantly put. Keywords are put in there, your content too much because that's called keyword stuffing. And that can actually be a negative thing from the algorithm. If it sees too many of the keyword, then it'll think you're stuffing your content folders keyword. So we just want to place it naturally and keep it, you know, not too much, but still have information about our target location in our service throughout our content. So I'm adding a header right here, recommendations for ESY services now not putting the location in this, just the SEO part, which is still part of our ranking factor or our desired searcher. And I'm going to click this heading two. And for those of you who have a different situation, you can see here it's wrapped in this H2 tags. So you can edit your HTML, raw HTML and wrap it in a H2 tags. And this basically means it's a sub-header. So we have H1 and H2. And then if we ever do a third header, like perhaps something else, then we can do H3 and you kind of stack your title in that way throughout your content. So now we're going to, I'm going to add another section here. I'm going to say about SEO services. Oops. And then I'm going to also make this H2. And now we're gonna go ahead and fill 2 thousand plus words and some images and video if you haven't imbedded and some GIF files and throughout this content. So just, I'm going to speed through this part and I'm going to write. And then we'll go over and look at the content. I've added some ideas. I'll list some ideas below this video of different content you can add. But just for things to think about, you can talk about your business, your story, your backstory, your vision, your mission. The other services talk about how you fulfill the service on this page. So if you're a plumber and this is about plumbing, sir, home plumbing services in Phoenix. You can write about the experience from a to Z, how As soon as somebody calls, you get offered a free consultation and maybe a free quote, you go to their home, you fix the problem than you, you know, you can just talk about the services you can offer to talk about the other services that you do, and talk about any value points anyways, you can help save customers money anyway. You can just help make it better or anything that just sells yourself. You can put all that into this content. You can talk about a paragraph of where your business started from like founded 15 years ago with the idea in mind to offer affordable plumbing services for homeowners, that could be your whole story that you write about. So if you're not an awesome writer, Don't worry about it. Do your best. If you know a writer that you want to bring on to help you out, you can do that as well. You can even hire writers on websites like text broker.com or Fiverr.com for really low prices. So you can look into that as well. But I'm going to skip along here and go ahead and write out all my content for this page. All right, so I went ahead and added some content to my page. I didn't add quite 2000 words, but I'd recommend for you to definitely add 2 thousand plus words and you can split it into all the content you right, into a Word processors such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs, and then you can see your word count in there. So this is my pages I have so far. I have my title, SEO services bountiful. My URL matches my call to action cells pitch. And then this is all my recommendations and then these are all the content added. So I added this image with captions. I have a gift here. And then I had all this content. And then at the end I have another call to action. So this is the very end. And notice that on my images, I edited the alternative text or alt text, the title, I added a caption and the description. And on this particular title, or sorry, this particular image, I named it the exact same as my keyword. Then all my other images or gifts that I added, I just did other examples. So you wanna make sure you have all those filled out and that one image is related. All of your images are gifts or videos should be. I'm unrelated to your target keyword in search term. And one of your images should be your exact search term you're trying to rank for. So I have that all finished and done. I went ahead and implemented my content onto my page builder so that I could add this, these pricing brackets that I use on my page builder. You don't have to do that. So, yeah. So go ahead and add 2 thousand plus words of text and images. And now that we've done that part. And then for those of you who don't have store front that you want to drive customers to embed your map at the very bottom. And now what I'm gonna do is I'm going to go through out my content and I'm going to add some links. Now, linking is important. You want to have for every 100 words, three external links. That means a link. And I'll show you exactly what you mean a hyperlink specifically where you highlight some text. I'll do it here, and then you link it to a different website. So for every ten, hundreds of texts, you want to have three hyperlinks external pointing to a different website. And then you want, also want to have some internal links point to other parts of your website as well. So I'm going to go ahead and do that right now. I'm going to scroll down here, right around here. Bountiful business. So I'm just actually going to search that and I'm going to do an external hyperlink. I bet there are some, Yep, see Bountiful utah.gov business resources. So that's a perfect external link. It's not a competitor. I'm just going to link to that page. So you now you can see right here, I have an external link, so there's one. And then SEO experience, I'm going to link to other parts of my website. So we want to put in some internal links and external links. So I have my SCO page here. I'm going to copy the link to my SEO page. And right here, I'm going to internal link at that. Now I'm going to just go through and add some more internal links, an external link. So everything, every time I say SEO services, I'm going to internal link that to my SEO page. And if you are creating content for a main service, then you can link to other services, other service pages you can link to a blog, you can link to your homepage. I have. But I see, yeah. I'm even going to link to these. So I have these recommendations from two different businesses. I'm going to link to those businesses. There's a terminal or sorry, external links as well. So I'm just going to add some links now and go ahead and add some for every 1000 words, three external links, going to different sites and then just place where it makes sense and don't do too many links, but every other paragraph at minimum have internal links as well. Where do they make sense? So I have this one. And then I'm going to link to this business as well. So these external links will help the other website you wink to. So you don't want to link to any competitors, but any resources, any other blogs is fine in that is beneficial ranking factor to Google. So now I need to add some more internal links. And again, I'm just gonna do some internal links. So I have a few external links, I have three. Internally. Let's do one more SEO service. And I'm linking to a bountiful page. So that should Google will see that link and connect it to my content being related to that search term, SEO services bountiful, I'll see I have an external link to Bountiful business.gov and they'll be a good connection that will let the algorithm know that I am a good bountiful related SEO. So I'm gonna do that right here. Businesses in Bountiful. I'm actually going to hyperlink that. So linking to some other websites that are related to that, local to our target location for in this, in my example, it's bountiful. So now I've placed some backlinks, both internal and external. I've added images that are optimized around my search term. So yeah, that should be it. So make sure you put in 2 thousand plus words of text, some optimized media, which is gifts and images and embedded videos if you have them. And then play some internal links which links pointing to other parts of your website. And external links which are links pointing to another website. And then once you're done with that, we can move on to our next section. Also put a featured image. So I put a featured image right here, which is an optimized image which shows up in search results right here. And that optimized image, if you look here, it my target keyword and is the alt text title and description, and it's my featured image. So that is good for search results as well. So now that we've done that, we can move on to letting Google know that our content is ready, and then we can move on to off-page SEO as well. So I'm just going to update this and then we'll be ready to go.
6. On Page Check Up and Updates: Hey, how's it going, everyone? So in this video, I just want to go over everything we've done so far. As far as on-page optimization goes, make some updates and just cover the important things that you need to have done on your page. So I have my, I'm gonna go ahead and share my screen here. And we'll just review my example page and everything we have done so far. Okay, so here is my page. You can't see it. Let me lower the browns. So right here you can see my URL. This is my domain. And right after I have my target search term, which is my a service and location SEO services bountiful. Just like that. I've updated in from recent videos my H1 title, which you can see here. And this is my H1 title. It matches my target search term exactly. But so if you notice you don't see it that other titling. So I'm going to go ahead and edit this page. Now I have a setting and I know Shopify does too, where you can change your meta title, which is what shows up in, and that's right here, and that's what shows up in search results. My title that will show up in search results is SEO services bountiful, highly rated plus results guaranteed. Guaranteed should be the proper. So I'll update that and that's the title of my page. But my URL is different and my H1 title on the page is different as well. And it's just ultra focusing on our target search term because this is what we want to rank for. Then I have a short description, paragraph or two talking about the service selling it, pitching it with a call to action. Click here to start for free. Fill out the short application. Then I have an image and an embedded map. And let's, let me 0. And yeah, we'll just move on from here. And then I have an H2 headline. I have some reviews recommendations, then another H2. And if you're lost with me, H2 or the tags. And H1 should be the number one tag for your title, your page. And then H2 and H3 are like subtitles and that are lower importance on your page 4. And that's for the algorithm, Google's algorithm, then this is NH3, More Services. And then notice I have some links, internal links. So this links to my SCO page, h3 title and more images. Again, if these don't matter, this is just the layout I put on my page. Another link, link here. And then we should have some external links. So do you know what I must not have? I need some more external links here. Whereas the bound and full, alright, here, bountiful business. So these ones are external links. So this content could use some more links. I could use some links in this paragraph. Link. Definitely in this paragraph, you don't want any section big block of text without some internal and external links. So that's a mistake I've done so far. I have some internal and external links, but I definitely need to add some more. So we have some links. Notice this is the page I just clicked too. It's just an external site. So we want some internal links and external links. So, and then I don't quite have 2000 words of text, but I'd highly recommend for you to fill in 2000, at least 2000, if not more, and the more content you add, the better chances you have to rank. So if you're super competitive, I would even go up to 4 thousand words of text, which I know might take some time, but it's definitely worth it once it's ranked and set, you'll be able to capture those customers and it'll definitely be worth it. So I have, let's just imagine this as 2000 words of text. Right now off the bat, I could use some more internal and external links. I have my H2 and h 3. These are H2. Notice these ones are bigger, 12 through four. It doesn't match though these are some design flaws that I will edit real quick. Because these titles are bigger, they're still H1 and H2 tags, so the tags are correctly, but I can also just change the size of the and text. So this is important. I'm gonna go back actually and redesign this whole page. So this page is minus. It could use some more links, some internal and external links in here. So I'm going to go ahead and add those more internal links, but I'm going to also go back through and just redesign this page. And I'm to look like one of my just look like a better page design wise, but it has all the elements for the algorithm. So when the algorithm reads this, it will understand that our target search term is SEO service bountiful. We have a lot of texts, we have images with alt descriptions and the notice this is my featured image. You notice here I put it in a featured image. If you have that capability, do that and then make sure that featured image just the alternative text, the title and the description are all your exact target search term. So this is my featured image for the page and it matches my desired search term. But then if we look at the other images I have there other there have SEO in it but there are variations. So they're just similar but different. I have this GIF SEO, this, Let's see yours. That other image I used, Not this one. Sql Server is bountiful 0, so this one matches as well. So I have two images that match my desired search term. So make sure all your images are optimized around your search term and that you're featured image is the exact search term. And yeah, that will about do it. Now, look at this page, for example, this my SEO page. See how it has some design to it. A little bit, not much to be honest, like this part. It's just a little bit more designed and it looks a little bit better. Minus this little chunk could use some work, to be honest, but I'm just going to go through and redesign this page and make it just visually look better design wise for the user. But that doesn't, doesn't necessarily help the algorithm. But what it does do is if a user spends more time on your site and if it's designed well, they are more likely to spend more time on the page that is an indicator, one of the ranking factors to Google that will help you boost your ranking. So if somebody lands on the page and then bounces and a bounced is considered, someone visits and then leaves within three to five seconds. That will hurt your rankings. But if somebody lands here and then spends time on the page that tells Google's algorithm, because it can track people's time on a page. So it tells goes algorithm, this content is valuable. It's, people are looking at it, are spending time on it and it will boost your ranking. So I'm just going to design it. And that's why it's important to add a video too. So I'm actually going to even put in one of my videos right here at the beginning. If you have one, I'd recommend putting it in. If you don't have one, it's as simple as shooting a video on your cell phone. I know a lot of people don't like to be on camera. Just pull out your cell phone, talk about your business, talk about your services. Upload on your website and put it on the front page that will help increase your time on page which will help increase your rankings. So I'm going to redesign this page, but as far as on-page optimisation goes, recovering the basics and the base level of things. We have our H1 title, we have internal external links, we have optimized images, embedded map, h2 and h3 headers, more images, long content, 2000 to 4000 words, can start with 2000. And if you haven't trouble getting ranking, then, then we might want to go up to 4 thousand words of text, a call to action at the end. So those are all the important things so far for on-page optimization. Like I said, I'm just gonna go over to this page. I'm going to redesign it and add a video in it as well. And then we can move on to some things we're gonna do off-page, some things that help your local results, your local rankings overall. That's so everything we've done so far is helping rank this one piece of content. But we're also going to make sure you have your Google business set up, your being searches and things like that. We're gonna make sure your Google My Business account and set up your being places and your apple, There's an Apple Maps. So you want to be on all those services so that any device anybody's using, whether it be Apple being or Google, there'll be able to find your business locally. So we're going to move on to some of that off-page things. Once this content is done, I'd also like to mention that 46 percent of Google searches are for local services. And I think something like 60% of searches, searches are on mobile. So by designing a good-looking page and using a good page builder, it helps ensure that your page will look good on mobile, which is crucial because most searches are on mobile devices versus a desktop. And most Google searches are for local services, such as the one we're trying to rank right now for you. So this is all really good that we're doing all this. So make sure your page is covered on all the things we've talked about so far for on-page optimization. And then we're gonna move on to creating your, make sure you have your Google, My Business setup, you're being places and your Apple Maps. It takes some time, but once it's set up, once, you don't have to do much after that. And it will just help you get more exposure locally and get traffic to your website. And it's kind of a bonus outside of, it doesn't necessarily directly apply to getting ranked, getting this content ranked. Everything we've done so far is getting one piece of content ranked. But what we're gonna do next is to just help you get local exposure overalls to make sure your bases are covered and you're getting all this searches and traffic related to your business in your local area. So we want make sure all that's covered and it'll help your overall site traffic and rankings as well. So that's the next part, but for now, I just want to make sure we covered all of our on-page optimization and that we're good to move on. So good luck, make sure you have all this finished up. And then let's move on to some off page methods and things we need to take care of to help your local business get seen and get the traffic from local searches.
7. Google Search Console: All right, So at this point we're about halfway through this training and getting your content ranked on the first page. Then after you're done creating your content, There's a lot more that we need to do to help it get pushed to the first page. And there's an important step we need to take. And then I'm gonna go into some other things that don't necessarily help the page we're working on yet ranked, but it's good to get a local presence and local traffic organically for your business. So we'll get into that next. So the first thing we wanna do is set up your website with Google Search Console. So if you just type in Google Search Console, click here and you're going to have to verify the ownership of your website and then add a sitemap. And then what this tool is is it's plugging your website into Google's search console tool and then it can scan your website more easily. You can index pages which is just letting Google know that it's ready to be scanned and it will just help connect to your website to Google's algorithm better so that you can get all your pages ranked. Help out with SEO. And then you can also see some issues or scanning problems and just monitor the crawling up your website through Google's algorithm. So the easy way to do this as if you're already logged into your website. Just copy your URL and paste it here. And then it will auto verify through Google Analytics, which I already have set up. If you don't have your Google Analytics set up, I would go ahead and pause this video, go set up your Google Analytics. And the way you do that is you set up an account through your email or Gmail account. And then you just embed some code on your site. And then Google Analytics will start tracking all the activity on your website, which is beneficial in the long term of you're just tracking the activity on your site. So I've already set up my Google Search Console here. Through that Google Analytics, there's other ways to verify your ownership. If you don't have analytics, you can embed some and text code on your hosting service provider. So if you're having trouble verifying the ownership of your website, just go on YouTube and look up some videos. How to verify your website with Google Search Console. Follow the steps on Google gives you as well, and get that step complete. So once you have verified your ownership of your site with search console and you have your account made. You're going to want to go to sitemaps and add a sitemap to from your website. Now a lot of website builders come with sitemaps automatically. For me, in WordPress, I am just going to use a plugin. The automatically generates a sitemap. So how does Google XML sitemap generator, which is perfect? Not should work? So I have my sitemap link here. I'll move this down so you can see it. So it looks something like this and it's just from a plugin. It usually ends in XML. And I'm just going to put that in my search console. And then this is just a way for Google to understand all my pages on my site. And there we go. So couldn't fetch. Okay, there we go. Discovered URLs. That way. It'll just help Google's crawling be able to see him your sites now usually then when you create a new page, like I've my example page in this training SEO services bountiful. And I click on that, you can add your URLs here and you can request indexing. Indexing tools currently disabled. I don't know if they're actually going to bring it back, but usually if you make an update to your site, you can just request to recrawl it. And then within a, usually a day, 24 hours Google we'll re-crawl that specific page, see your updates, and then it can plug it into search results more quickly. Since it's disabled, there's no way to index your pages, so you just have to wait for google to scan your page automatically. It could take a week to a month, even. So SEOs, definitely a long-term game play. But once you've created your content and gone through this entire training after a week to four week school should scan it and you'll see where it's positioned. And then you can use, we'll get into it later, but we'll do some competitive analysis and see how we can make it better and boosted up the page. So yeah, that's step number one. You want to set up your Google Search Console and add a sitemap. So we've done that. Now, we want to move on. To Google My Business. Now this doesn't directly apply to boosting or getting me the content we've been working on in this training ranked. But this will help just get your business traffic organically from local searches in general. So you're gonna wanna go to Google My Business. If you already have this setup, you can skip this step. If you don't, then I'm just going to go through it really quickly. I won't go into too much detail, but I haven't actually made a Google My Business for my marketing business, just because I don't serve locally and I'm not don't have a storefront, but it's still worth doing. So you just add your business name, business category. And then this location will show up on Google Maps and Search when customers are looking for your business, definitely hit Yes. And then put in your address that you operate out of Yes. Service. So you can add multiple locations. Definitely put in your location that you're targeting in this training. So I have all the like local cities. Then put in your contact information In your website. And then finished. So now my site or my Google, My Business page is set up. So if people are looking for my business, are related in my services and categories, and they'll send you a postcard to confirm that that is indeed your address. So just go ahead and have them send. It usually takes five to seven days or five days. You just put in a code once they send you the postcard and then you can confirm your address and then you're set up to go. So add services. So I'm going to add SEO, video. It's right here. I'm just going to add all my services so that when I show up in local search results, people will know what I offer. Just going to add the top power services and then put in other information like when you're open hours of operation and things like that. And then just put in some information about your business. I'm going to just take my paragraph right here and then add some photos. So this is like almost like a Facebook page but on Google Maps. So you just want to have some information. This is also where people can leave reviews for your business. So if you're a local business, it's really important to have this set up and ask your current customers to leave reviews, which is super beneficial to gaining authority for your local community. All right, so once you are all set up and you go to Google My Business, this is what I look like. You can add your e-mail, pen, you're get a postcard, verify your business at reviews and you can manage a lot of things in here. So that's good and make sure you have that setup. Now once you have your Google My Business profile set up, you want to do the exact same thing with being places being as the search engine default on Microsoft devices. So it's important to set that up and then you're going to want to go into Apple Maps as well. My Apple Apps has about 60 percent market share and is the default for all iPhones. Anybody searching. I'm on iPhones in your area. It will be on map, Apple Maps, and you essentially are you just going to set up the exact same information you did on Google, My Business, but with being an app, Apple Maps as well. So I'm not gonna do that now, but set that all up and then it'll just help you get more organic traffic to your website into your business. For people searching for your business category and services in your local area. So I'm not gonna do that now, but so that should cover, make sure you have your Google Search Console, account setup, verify your website ownership, putting your sitemap, and then make sure you have a boom. My business account for sure and then being places and Apple Maps. So I have all that setup. Now. We can move on to some off-page optimization and getting some backlinks to our content, which is the second branch to SEO. The first branch being on-page optimization, the second one being off-page optimization. And off-page optimization includes your domain authority, which is, has a lot of factors to it. It's the how long your domain has existed. So the age of your domain accounts for your domain authority and how many backlinks you have pointing to your site that shows Google that you're an authoritative site. So if you have a lot of back links from other websites pointing to your site, it tells Google's algorithm that you're have authority and it increases your domain authority, which helps your overall ranking factor for all your content. So I know that's a lot of stuff that I just mentioned, but we're gonna get into it in this next section and getting some backlinks, I'll show you some strategies on how to do that. And they'll be a huge part in helping get your content ranked. So let's go ahead and get going with them.
8. On Page SEO Bonus: Hey, what's up? I just want to review some on-page optimization things before we move on to help you fine tune some on-page optimisation, ranking factors and tactics that will help all your rankings in the future and this page. So I'm going to share my screen here and let's just cover these few items real quick. Okay, so I have my example page here and one thing I want to mention is that that's bad for on-page optimization is having duplicate content. So if you have one page and do you think, and you're thinking, oh, I'll just copy and paste all of this content onto another page, but changed the URL and the title to try and rank for two pages that won't fly. Google scans it and if it sees duplicate content, it won't know which one to rank and it just discredits both of them and doesn't even count them all. So you have to have unique original content every single time. So I just want to make sure you're aware of that. And then here, another thing, consider is linked to your page that you want to rank on other parts of your site and especially your homepage. So your homepage is the most important page of your website. Google looks at it as your main domain page and ways it the most. So any links coming from your homepage will be weighted heavier than pages coming or sorry, links coming from other pages like a blog. But once your URL is done, ere your pages published, you wanna go ahead, head to your homepage like this is my homepage. And place a link somewhere on your homepage. I'm will add a row here actually near the bottom. I'm going to add a row that says like SEO services bountiful with just a button and a link going to my page. Okay, So then also if you have blogs on other parts of your page, go into your blogs, edit them and just play some links to your page. And so that you have other pages internally linking to the page you want to rank, especially from your homepage and any page you're trying to get ranked, put a link on the homepage is a good way to help get you there. So another thing I want to mention is to add this as a new tactic actually that I just tested and found and did some research on. So I'm adding this to the training to add multiple H1 titles. I wouldn't go more than three. But for this training, let's start with two. So we have our first H1 title, right? I'm going to go ahead and edit this page. I'm going to add a variation of my title about halfway down the page and I want you to do the same. So whatever your title of your H1 title is, what should be or exact search term you're ranking for, which should be your location and City, which is a city or region with your service. So if we look here and I edit this, we can see that it is one, right? And we can see these tags right here, H1. So I'm going to just duplicate this title and then I'm going to bring it down about halfway through my page. I'm going to put it right here. Edit it. I'm just going to change it. I'm going to put bountiful SEO services. So you see I just switched and I just put the location first and then my end, it's H1. Let's see. You can even add something else just so it's not exactly the same because that's still pretty close. Bountiful SEO services by h marketing. That will work. So that way it's different, but it still has my target as an H1 and that will double down tone. Google like this is the content for bountiful ICO services or SEO services, bountiful. Now I tested this kind of idea. On another page I was trained to rank and just by adding another one variation, my ranked jumped up by like four spots as at the, near the bottom of the second page. And I moved up closer to the middle of the second page. So I just wanted to let you guys know. I'm just going to change that color. Get rid of that. So there we go. That's all there is to it. I'm just going to save this and publish it. And now when Google scans this page, it will see this H1 title and this HON title, as well as all my H2 and H3 titles that are all related to the content and all related to SEO in bouncy that Let's see what's this one? H2. So yeah, that is the three things I wanted to mention. So don't have any duplicate content. Make sure to go with throughout other parts of your website and that internal links pointing to this page you're trying to rank, especially at a link on your homepage to the page we're trying to rank here. And then a second H1 title halfway through your content and make it a variation of your target search term. And again, your target search term should be a service you offer plus the city you want to target. Which yeah. So that's, I just want to mention that as an update for some on-page SEO to help you out. So yeah, that's about it. Let's continue on to the next section of this training.
9. Off Page SEO Part 1: Hey, how's it going, everyone? So in this video I'm going to dive deep into explaining and teaching you about off-page SEO, which refers to domain authority and backlinks. So I'm gonna go ahead and explain what those things are, what affects them and how they affect your rankings. Now, I mentioned earlier there's two branches to SEO. One of them is on-page optimization, which we've covered so far. And we did that by creating an optimizing your content with a URL, a keyword, your H1, H2, H3 tags, optimizing images, videos and gifts, and adding long text. 2 thousand plus words of content. I'm putting in videos and things like that. Along with on-page optimization is also user optimization where you make the page look good and try to make it enticing to whoever visits the page so they continue reading. And that way they spend more time on your site, which tells us Google's algorithm that it's good content and it'll help rink more. So that's on-page optimization. Off-page optimization refers to your domain authority and backlinks. Now domain authority is basically the authority of your site. It's a score from one to 100. Every industry has kind of there ranges on it's pretty impossible to have a domain authority of 90 plus. For example, Facebook domain has a domain authority of 99 or 100. Google.com is a domain authority of a 100. So social media sites like that will be 90 plus. Walmart.com for example, will be like 90. And then so you want to look at your industry in your space. You don't have to worry about too much. But the important thing is you want to shoot for a domain authority that's higher than your direct competitors and that way you can now rank them. So domain authority helps your overall rankings on your entire site from all your pages, blogs in your homepage and everything. The two main factors that determine your domain authority is 1, the age of your domain, how long your domain has been on the World Wide Web, which you can't really control, but over time that will help it and the amount of quality backlinks that are pointing to your site. Now a backlink is another site, another website and another domain with the link on their site that links to your site. And so when, when Google's algorithm scans that other websites page, it scans all the links. And when it sees one Lincoln's pointing to your domain, it will weigh the value of that link, and it does that in a few different ways. One way is backlinks that are on the top of contents on the first two paragraphs are weighted more than if they're at the bottom or somewhere in between. So if you want to get a quality backlinks pointing to your site, make sure try to get the link on the top, the very first paragraph or second paragraph near the top of the page. Another thing to consider is that a backlink has to be have the do follow attributes, which is just a code tag in the link telling the algorithm do follow this link. And those are the only links the algorithms count towards your authority. If it's a nofollow link, it doesn't count. So for example, social media links are automatically know follow. So if you just go on Facebook or Twitter and you put it in your website link as a post. That doesn't count as a backlink. But if you have large following, then people can click on it. You can still drive traffic, but it doesn't work for backlinks thing. So let me review what we have here. So we want to focus on your domain authority and you're specifically getting quality backlinks. Now, another determining factor that makes a quality backlink is having a backlink from a domain that has a higher domain authority than your website. For example, if your website has a domain authority of 15, then you want to get backlinks from websites that have a domain authority of 16 or higher. If you get backlinks from a website that has a domain authority lower than yours, it's weighted way less valuable by search engines like a lot less. In fact, one, backlink from a domain authority higher than yours is worth 10 backlinks that are lower domain authority. So you want to focus on just the one backlink at a higher domain authority. So let me go ahead and review all of this real quick. I know that's a lot of information, but I'm going to show you some tools and how we can determine and look at all those things. So I'm going go ahead and share my screen here. And then we can get started. And I'll show you the tools I use to find your domain authority, your page authority, and competitors, and then look at search results as well. So you can see. How you're positioned with your authority and your links. So on this section we're going to focus on getting you back links as well. And with this training, I come up with a shared Google Sheet with everyone that participated in this training where we can all exchange backlinks. And so I'll get into that as well so we can all be set up with some linking. Know. So off-page optimization means domain authority and backlinks. So I use the Chrome extension. If you don't have Chrome, you can just download it and use it just for this or find a similar tool called nofollow simple. And what that allows me to do is check for backlinks if there are no follow. So I'm going to show you an example of that. So this is, let me go to a my example page that we've been taking a look at. And I'll use this nofollow do follow tool so we can see if the links are no follower and do follow. And it just makes me reload the page and you can do this on any webpage to see that. So all of these are due follow links, these purple ones because they're not highlighted and I don't have any nofollow links, so they're all do follow because they're not highlighted. This tool will show me. Now I'm going to head over to, let's say just and then go over to my personal Facebook. Hopefully it's not crazy. I don't use Facebook too often. Let's go to another website. Reddit.com is go to Reddit.com. Okay, now I'm going to use that same tool. Will reload the page. And now do you see all of these links that are highlighted in red are no follow blinks. So all these links that you can click on our nofollow links versus do follow links. So that is a tool you can use for to determine if a link is duple or nofollow. Now, another tool I use is the MozBar. So I'd recommend going to moz.com, MOZ.com signing up for a free account and then downloading the MozBar, it goes into your browser. And I'm going to show you what that looks like. And this tool will show you your site and other sites, domain authority, page authority and the links, the backlinks. So I'm going to turn on my MozBar right here. Now. I don't focus on SEO for on my personal marketing website, but I do on other sites just because I get clients through other ways. I do intend on growing my SEO though. So I'm going to want to, this is our example page here. My SEO services bountiful. I've redesigned, it's just so it looks a bit better for the user experience. And notice I have 0 links, my page authority is 3 and my domain authority is 4. So as I add links and google scans those links, they'll start showing up here. I'm going to go to another site that I manage and show you an example in this site I do SEO work for and to drag traffic. It's strike now.com. They make custom printed and branded supplies like pop-up tents, banners, flags, things like that. So I'm going to head over to this tense page or you can just look at this homepage. So on this homepage we have a 141 Links. Page authority is 33 and domain authority is 23. And now this is a good example that I want to mention real quick. So one way you can increase your domain authority is by increasing the page authority across your website. And what I mean by that is you can have. So this website, for example, has a domain authority of 23, but a page authority of 33. And if I want to, and then if we look at other pages, the pages, page authority will be lower than 23. So my MozBar is now see here page authority. So this page authority is high, 29 higher than the domain authority, and we have 36 backlinks. You can also click on this and the MozBar, and I'll show you specifically where those links are coming from, the domains and the domain authority of those backlinks. So you can really use this tool to analyze this. Now, back to what I was saying with if you want to increase your domain authority, one way to do it. Increasing the page authority on average across your whole site. And what I mean is, for example, let's say you have a domain authority of 16 on your website and your homepage page authority is 20. And then the rest of your pages on average are below 15, maybe one pages 10, 11 pages eight, that most of your pages or lower page authority to increase your domain authority, you can work on each page and increasing their page authority. And the best way to do that is optimizing them. Seo, optimizing them getting more traffic, getting raped and backlinks pointing to those pages. If you have a lot of backlinks pointing one page, it increases the page authority. Now, as you increase the page authority across your entire site, it will lift your domain authority as well. So if all of your pages have a page authority of 20 and your domain authority was 16. It will help push that up to 171819 and even 20. So as you increase the page authority of all your pages, your domain authority, which is the entire domain, follows suit and will uplift as well. So this is a long-term plan, game plan for SEO. And it's something to pay attention to because if you're having trouble ranking, big factor is your domain authority. So you can work on increasing your domain authority by getting quality backlinks pointed to your pages and your homepage. And the homepage is the first page you want to focus on because that is your root domain. If you type in your domain, it goes to your homepage. So if you get a ton of back links going to your homepage, you can help increase your domain authority. And then if you increase the page authority across all of your pages, that will help increase your domain authority as wealth. And the higher your domain authority, the better chances you have to rank any and all of your content. For example, if you have a domain authority, let's say is, isn't a scenario. You have a domain authority of a 100. Let's just say, can you just publish a page and you just have one title and the URL. Your chances of outranking other pages that have a way better content. But let's say you're competing with pages that have 20 domain authority, 16 domain authority, you have a better chance of ranking number one, even though you have a blank page, Let's say you just have your H1 title and the URL and that's it. The rest of the page is just blank or just super small and not very good. And other websites, Let's say they have really long content, really optimized page H1 title URL, but their domain authority is like 10. The domain authority site with a 100 will probably outrank, but that's just, that rarely happens. That's a broad example to help you understand the importance of domain authority and back linking. So now that you understand that a little bit, try to keep that in mind. We want to now move on to getting some backlinks to your site and to this content specifically. Now even if your domain authority is low, if we can get a lot many quality backlinks pointing to the page we're trying to rank. Then you can still get this page ranked with a lot of backlinks.
10. Off Page SEO Part 2: So what I set up here is a spreadsheet where everybody that participated in this training will have access to the spreadsheet. It's right here. If you click on this button in this training and what this spreadsheet will do is everybody will add their business name, add the URL of the page you're trying to rank. So the page you created in that for this training, add that URL here, then add a description of your business like a paragraph, two to five sentences, just kind of talking about your business, your products, your services, and maybe even a little pitch in there. You can even just copy the first paragraph you made in your content for this training and put it in there, your URL. And then we're gonna make, have everybody involved in this training make a blog. So I have made a blank blog post here. And if you don't want, because you're afraid this blog might hurt your website. Look, or you just don't want people to share it. Or maybe you have a system where every time you publish a blog it sends out your e-mail list. Whatever the case is, you can make this blog published, but then make it not public. You can make it. I use a plugin or another feature and get it published it, but make it not visible or viewable from your site so that your customers, your e-mail list won't be able to find it. If you want to do that, go ahead and do that. But we still want to have this page published. And we want to make sure that Google will find it in search results, so it has to be scannable. Search engines should be allowed to search this page. But basically, I'm just going to make a blog post called local businesses I love in the United States or something like that. You can name it something else. Like have another example here. She our favorite local businesses in the US, or my favorite local businesses. And basically, the idea is we want to make a blog post and then come back to this sheet and we want to copy and paste every business that participates in this training as a paragraph and then link to their content that they want to get ranked. So basically we're all going to create a blog post and we're going to put hyperlinks to everybody's content so that everybody can get some backlinks to that content to help it get pushed to the first page of Google. If we have a 100 people participating in this training over the course of one month, then everybody should get a 100 backlinks to the pages are trying to rank for. And as this training continues and more and more people get added to this training, I'm just going to send an email out once a month with the new additions to our list. And over time we'll just be able to help each other. I'm hopefully, I mean, I assume most people on this training art direct competitors in the same city, if you are, don't link to your direct competitors, just miss them, skip them out, but you can both be successful. And this will just help everybody grow their domain authority and get this page ranked by getting some quality links. Now, there will be a mix of domain authority is some domains will be lesser than others and will still want those links. Because even though we want to focus on getting backlinks from domain authorities that are higher than us. It's okay to have a mix of every kind of link. That's good. So even if you have a backlink from a lower domain authority, and it will still be beneficial to help get your content ranked. But I think over the course of all this, there'll be a lot of domains that are higher than yours and a lot that are less. But combined. It will just be a good linking structure for your content. So I'm just going to put this in an example. So I added, I have a I'm a photographer as a hobbyist and a professional, and I put my photography website here as an example of just for the sake of this training. So I have this paragraph here, and I have this here, I change it to H2. Here's a list my favorite local businesses around the US. I hope you enjoy this list. Feel free to check them out if you live in their area and link to them as well to help their SEO efforts. So then what you'll do and this is my example post you can edit and change it to however you like. But I put in my photography business here as an example. So I'm going to copy the business name and this will be filled out with everyone who participates in this training. And then I'll email everybody once a month on updates so that everybody can see the up-to-date people added to this training who participate in this link exchange. And then I'm just going to paste the name of the business, copy and paste the name of another business here, H2. And then I'm going to link to their business domain. So don't copy. I opened up my target, this my photography website. So I'm going to just copy the URL domain and link it here. So this is my domain name. And so it's linked. Then I'm gonna come down here and then paste the description paragraph of the business. And then somewhere in this paragraph link to their desired ranking page. So the page we've been working on in this training, we want a link pointing to each other's pages. So I'm just going to highlight some text here and desired ranking URL. So I'm just, I don't have a ranking page on my photography website that I want to boost. I'm just going to use the same link here. But if this where, so for example, this is my desired ranking page right here, my SEO services bountiful. So I would just copy this first part, paste and link it here to the business name if that were the case. And then copy the entire URL, which is the desired page we want to help get ranked and this link to that. So I hope that makes sense. So I just rank to the domain which is the homepage right here on their business name. But then in the paragraph I linked to the paid the specific URL page that they want to get ranked, which is the page we're working on in this training. And so that's my example. I just got my photography business. So just to make it easier, I'm actually just going to put domain URL. That way you can copy the domain URL, paste it right here in the business name as the hyperlink, and then go ahead and link into business description. There desired ranking URL. So put your own URL that we've been working on in this training. The content of the page you made, put that paste the URL here, paste your homepage or domain name here, paste your business name here, and then a short description right here. You can just copy and paste the description you used on your, the first paragraph. You used in your ranking page, like this for example. So if what I did here, I pasted that right here. And then, yeah, and then just put the blog article here, the blog post that you make. Just paste it here. So now you can see age photography. So if I click this home, this top page link, it goes to the homepage, which is my domain. And if I click on this page, it will go to my desired URL, which in this case is the same, but usually it should go to that page. So then over time, as people participate in this training, this list will grow. And eventually this blog post will have multiple paragraphs. So then I'll add another business here. A, so I'll do one company I worked for and help their SEO efforts out. I'll do strike visuals. As another example, H2, and I'll add that to this list here. So business names, straight visuals. And then let's go, let's write to one of their pages. I want to get ranked. So this is the desired page. But this is their domain. So here's their domain, their page, and then we need a little description. So let's go. I'll just copy this description. Paste it here. So I'm going to now come back over to my post. Add this paragraph even though it's short. So now I'm going to come here, copy the domain, paste that as a hyperlink here. And then trach visuals trade show, I'm going to hyperlink this. So I'm going to come here, desired ranking URL. So this is the page we want to help get rent. And then I will link that bomb. So now we have an example there. So then I'm going to update this page, make sure it is. Allow surgeons to post this in search results. Yes. And now we're good to go. So hopefully that makes sense. And as this grows, we can just help each other link to each other's sites. So now I just want to review this MozBar real quick. Again. Can, once you're signed in and make a free account and download as MozBar, you can use it to analyze the search results pages. So let's look at this example. For this company strike visuals here, who I do SEO for. They make custom printed and branded events supplies and banners, table covers, pop-up tents, flags, things like that. And so I typed in my search results custom Brian pop-up tents, which is one of the pages I ranked for them. And so if we scroll down and I turned my MozBar on, and I'm just going to show you this so you can see how links, domain authority and page authority all play into ranking. So right here's my ranking. It's number five on the first page of Google for the search term custom pop-up tents. And this is the strike now website, the page I rank, and we can see here we have 36 links. Our page authority is 29, or domain authority is 23. Now let's look at the competitors. So everybody on this page as a competitor in our search results. And so we want to outrank them so we can look at other people's content to see how we can do better and outrank them. So let's look at the one right above. Their domain authority is 32, so it's higher. They have 230 links, so a lot more in their page authority is 33 and They're one above me. Now their name custom pop-up tents made to exact needs. It's not the exact phrase. So that can give me an edge custom printed pop-up tenses the exact search term, google will say, okay, this one is more relevant. And this one is close custom pop-up tents, not custom printed. Sorry about that. So custom pop-up tents, not custom printed, but then it has a higher domain authority, more links, and so it's ranked higher. So if I wanted to rank these guys, I would invest in more links. And over time that our domain authority to go up. And, but I could also work on on-page optimisation. I could see how many words of text this page has and make sure my page has more. So if they have a 1000 words, I could put 3000 words, which would increase my on-page optimization, which had helped me out rank them. So now let's look at the one right below. So their domain authority is 19. They have 568 links and their page authority is 32. So they are, page authority is much greater than their domain authority, mainly because they have way more links. But it still, and it's the same custom pop-up tents and canopies. So it's similar search term, but again, it's not the exact search term in the title. And I probably outranked them because our domain authority is Heider, are higher. My on-page optimization is better because my title is more exact to the search term. But then also their links. They could have 568 links that are all domain authority 10. And I could have 30 links that have a domain authority coming from websites with the domain authority, let's say 30 or higher, maybe 70 or 80 domain authorities. So my 36 links will be more valuable than their 568 links simply because, and I don't know that. But if we click here, we can actually view their links because the MozBar will track this. So they have 60 linking domain. So only 60 domains are giving him 568 links. Let's look at the domain authority by clicking on the domains list. So their domain authority is pretty high. 91 is super high. Yeah. So who knows what all these websites are, but they have pretty high domain authority. They also have a high spam score, so they might not be weighed, weighted as much. Now let's look at our links. Just to compare. This is just an example of a page I've ranked. So you can just get an idea of linking and authority. So our domain authority or page authority or linking domains. So we have 17 different domains giving us 36 links. So domain authority is high, spam scores are lower, this one is high, and this one is high, but our domain authorities are pretty good. So see most of them are higher than our, our domain authority of 23, except for this one. This is, and these two are the same, but most of them are higher. So that's really good. And we have more, but you need to sign up for the pro version to see that. So go ahead and download the MozBar. You can use it to look at your results page for the keyword you're looking ranked, trying to rank for. So this is the key when you're trying to rank for, you can look at the first page and you can kind of see what the domain authorities are, the links a page authorities, and see their titles. You can even click on the content, so on and click on the one that's ranked right above. And I'm just going to copy all of the text. Second tell you. Yes. So they have a lot of text on this page. So that's good. This page is really highly optimized. I can tell just because it has so much content. So if I just copy all of that, I'm just going to open up a new document here and then paste it. And this is an example of competitive analysis. And then I'm going to hit Tools word count and see, okay, I see. So they have 3,030 words on their page, which is a lot, plus all their images are probably optimized as well. So that's good. They have 3000 words. So that means on our search results, I want to make sure my page has more words than theirs, and that will help me out rank them. They have more links than me, but I'm just second. And I can tell you this page probably doesn't have 3000 words of text. So if I make, say 4 thousand words of text, I could bump up above these guys in the search results. So that's how you use the MozBar to check out links, domain authority and page authority for other sites, your competitors in search results and your own site. So I hope that helps you understand off-page optimization. We went over backlinks, domain authority. You can pay this service to a guest post and things like that. Now I want to get into. In our next video, I'll go over the top five ways you can get backlinks. And one of them I'll mention here now is just reaching out to your local businesses and asking to do a guest post. Guest posting is one of the best ways to get backlinks. And that essentially means you reach out to another business. And you say, Hey, I want to write a post and publish it on your blog about your industry or about your services or something like that related to them. It'll help you because it'll add content to your website and it will help get you more organic traffic. But then once you've write that and publish that post, put in a backlink to your page that you want to get ranked and make sure you put it at the top of the page. Because remember I mentioned links that are at the top of content get weighted more valuable than links in the middle or bottom of content. So that's a great, good way to do that. And the best way to do that to is your local community. So if you don't have direct competitors, or even if you do just focus on other businesses, say you're a cafe trying to get ranked on the first page of Google for cafes in Boston, Massachusetts, you can reach out to a bike shop in the area, or let's say Boulder, Colorado because There's more bike shops probably in Boulder, Colorado. So say you're a cafe in Boulder. You reach out to a bike shop and you say, Hey, I want a guest post on your site, talk about your biking in the local area. There'll be beneficial to you because it'll help you gain organic traffic and add content to your website. And then I'll place a backlink to my site. And you can also ask them as well like hey, if you want to guess plus on my site, you can do that as well. That way, you're basically just putting content on each other site with a backlinks to the content you want to get ranked. And when Google scans those pages, it will see that the IP addresses are coming from the same area. You'll see that you're both local businesses in the same region. And that is a good valuable backlinks because if Google reads their page from the bike shop and sees your link pointing to your site. And then it sees that you're in the same area. It will add authority to your website, google will think, okay, so other businesses in the same area or Lincoln to him, they must be authoritative. Let's boost their domain authority and let's boost their rankings. And that's kind of how the algorithm thinks. So I hope this is not too much. I know this is a long video. I covered a lot of information. In the next video, I'll go over the top five ways you can get links. But I please participate in this link sharing, um, project for everybody that participates in this training. I'll email everybody once a month and we can see business Listening Blog. Yeah, I'll e-mail everybody once a month and let them know of updates. And over time, more and more people will be added to this training and participating in this. And over time, we can add more and more links to each other's sites. And basically, just once a month you can update this blog. Just paste the business name linked to their home domain, Paste their business description and link to their desired page that they wanna get ranked. And then over time, this blog will just grow, um, and grow and we'll have links coming back and forth for everybody to help get our content. Boost it up in search results. So, yeah, check out the MozBar tool and use that for competitive analysis to check your page authority, your domain authority, and how many links you have. And then since Google's indexing tool is, I'm upright now I think they've permanently suspended it. We're just going to have to wait for a week to four weeks to see when Google naturally scans pages and see the links coming in. So once you place a linked or have a backlink pointing your site, it could take up to a week for that to actually show. So SEO is definitely a patient's game and a long-term plan. But let's click this button here and it will give you access to this shared spreadsheet where we can add everybody's information. I'll go through and review it every once in a while. Make sure to put the link to the blog as well right here. And then I'll go check it out and I'll just put a yes or no if the blog is up-to-date, so everybody's aware with sharing links. So thanks for watching. I hope this wasn't too much. If you want to cut double down on retain this information, go ahead and review this video a second time if that helps. And let's move on to the next video where I show you the top five ways you can get backlinks to help boost your ranking.
11. Backlinks: Hey, how's it going, everyone? Welcome back to the next section on backlinks. Before I get started, on the top ways you can get backlinks to your local page that we're working on in this training, which will tell search engines that your page has authority and that it is valuable, which will help it get ranked. And like I mentioned before, backlinks are one of the most important things of getting any type of content ranked and is part of off-page optimization, which is the second of two branches of SEO. The first branch is on-page optimization. The second branch is off-page optimization, which mainly refers to backlinks. So it's super important. And before I show you or go into the top ways, you can get backlinks for your page. I want to mention, when you do place a backlink, it's important to have an optimized anchor text. And what I mean by anchor text is whatever text you have on another site that is hyperlinks. So you can have text that says, for my example, my pages, SEO services bountiful. So if I were to put a backlink pointing to this page and I was, for example, guest posting on another site. I would write something like local SEO services or SEO services or a marketing agency that has good SEO services. And that would be my text. And then add highlight that text and link to my page as a hyperlink. And that's called your anchor text. Anchor text is the text, that is the link. So I'm going to share my screen here and just show you an example, all the links on my page, for example, on this section that are blue. If you scroll down below this video, see this list of links and they're all blue. Or those would be hyperlinks and the linking text would be the anchor text. But it is a URL. So let's see. All right, here I have this new share my screen real quick, sorry about that. I'm on Chrome, this text right here, Chrome extension, that is the anchor text and it's highlighted as a link. So if I click on it, it goes to a different page. So that's what a hyperlink is. And you want to have optimized anchor text, which just means the text. The text for which you place here link on, needs to be related to your page. So again, it for an example, if I were to make a guest post, I actually, I'll get into biogas blog here. I'm going to just start a new blog on a site I manage as a guest post for my page. So I'm going to add a new post. And then I'll show you what I mean. And I'm actually going to fill this out, write a whole guest posts and then link it to my page and I'll get to it. This is one of the options you have actually as a guest posting, but I'll get to that here. Same. So this title will be using local SEO to get traffic for your local event. So this is, as I don't write a whole blog about using local SEO to get traffic for a local event. So this is targeted to people who put on local events and they can use SEO to get traffic to it. So that will be, and then I'm just going to write an example paragraph. I'm going to fill this all out later, but for sake of this video, local SEO can be 0, 1. Let me just write this out. So I have this local SEO. I'm actually just saw that's my anchor text. I'm going to link and then I'm going to find my page. So here's the link. Here's the link to the page in this example. Seo services bound unfold. There's my link and I'm going to place it. So seed the local or sorry, the anchor text is local SEO. And the backlink is a do follow to my page. So I'm going to fill out the rest of this blog. Save it as a draft for now. And then that will be once google scans this page and I'll have a backlink to my page. So now that I talked about anchor text, optimized anchor text related to your service or to the page you're trying to rank. Let's move on to the top ways you can get backlinks. And I have them all listed under this video. So I'm just going to explain each one under this video. So the very first one is guest posting. Guest posting is basically when you write an article, a blog, on another website. To help benefit their website. So it's about, it's related to that website's content. Whether it be their niche, their industry, something their customers or readers would like to see and hear or read. So you write a post for another website and then you place a link with optimized anchor text near the top of the page to your page. So that's what guest posting is. It's a great way most SEOs have used guest posting to get quality backlinks to their content. So here's a few examples of how to guess post, reach out to local businesses. And I mentioned this in the last video, but reach out to the local businesses in your area and ask them to do a guest post, write a blog for their site specific to their business and mentioned something about your business. In the first couple of paragraphs, you don't even have to mention your business. You just mentioned something that kind of relates the two. And then have an optimized anchor text in the first few paragraphs near the top of the page and link to your page. So basically just look up businesses in your area that are at your direct competitors. Give him a call. I know it will take some work, but given would call to speak to the manager, owner, store owner. Maybe if you have a local business owner directory, use public local business records to find the owners of those businesses their contact information you can usually find on your local governments website and then reach out to him and just be like, Hey, I wanna do a post on your website. It'll help you grow your site, help you get some organic traffic. And then if you want, you can write a guest post on my site as well, and they will agree to it. If you asked 20 businesses, you can get at least five, 10, maybe more, depending on, you know, people are willing to let you post on their side or not. So another way to guess post is write a guest post for a website. I manage the site I just showed you as an example is called athletic events apply it and it's one of the websites that I manage. And so here's some blogs on that site, trade show organizers designed for experience. And these blogs were made before I started managing it. So I didn't write these blogs, but these are just some examples. Increase cycling in London, trade show, event, ideas and tips. The very best exercise to prepare for your race. So if you want to just get a guest posts out there, I have a site that is perfect for all of you to write guest posts on. All you have to do is write an article that is at least 500 words or more about athletics, events, trade shows, sports or marketing. And I'll post it, optimize it and make sure your post gets a few, just like probably three or more. Do follow backlinks to your page. All you have to do is email me if I made a free Gmail just for this training, to email guest posting queries to its Hulbert marketing at gmail.com. Put guest post on AES. Aes stands for athletic events supply, and that's the website. Guest posts onto AES site as the subject line and attach your article, your blog post as a document or link to it. And maybe in a Google Doc. And with your hyperlinks already linked in the page, email it to me. I'll post it, publish it, and then once google scans that paid, you'll get a backlink to your content helping it rank. So those are some guest posting opportunities. And then, like I mentioned in the last video, we have a spreadsheet going. Everyone who participates in this training will get added to it and send each other links. We can also do guest posts on each other sites. So with everybody's permission, we can put an e-mail on that spreadsheet to contact and everybody can reach out to everybody on that spreadsheet and say, Hey, I want to do guest post on your site, and that will be even more beneficial. Guest posting is a better form of backlinks because Google reads, posts, blogs in pages as more credible than if you just have a link place somewhere. But either case, it's still beneficial to help your page rank. So the next way to get some backlinks is local business directories. Local business directories are websites that list to local businesses to help people find them and you can place links. So here's a list of a lot of a local directories, for example, is you might be familiar with are like yellow pages. Small business dot yahoo.com forward slash local. About Us.com, Chamber of Commerce.com, the BBB.org, Better Business Bureau. And next door, E local decks knows things like that. There's even one called local.com. So I'd recommend signing up for an account for all of these because it not only helps you get a link to your page, but it also helps you just get visibility to your local business when people are searching for your business and the area, a lot of these sites will pop up on Google and they might click on it and they'll find your business. So it's a good idea to just be on all of these sites and then get links to them. So another way you can get a backlink is to write a local resources blog and that local bloggers and other businesses know about it and then ask them to link to your post. So some topics you can write about our local events, highlight other businesses, history of your town, fun facts about your town, fun things to do in your town, things like that. And you basically just write a post, blog posts on your website that's about your local area. And those are some examples. And then you can begin to gain back links by creating that local resources such as roundup of events, things to do in your area. This can be done in the form of a blogposts. Yeah, I just mentioned all that in your article, shared information that would be valuable to local searchers. So people who are new to the area, they're just searching. They're not necessarily searching for your business, but they're searching for something related to your local area and then tie it into an offer that relates to your business. So at the end of the piece and an internal link to your local page, the page you're trying to rank with optimizing your texts like we talked about. That way anyone reading the article CAN, has a call to action. And search engines can recognize that you're covering a topic in depth, making your site more valuable. Now it's time for a bit of research, so I'm just reading what I wrote in this page. You can find bloggers in your area, influencers, people on social media, and even Event Coordinators. If you make a list of local events, reach out to all the event coordinators like Hey, I just wrote this blog post. Would you mind sharing it? And then send them an email? Give a special offer to their readers, which they give them as to your stories, a local discount, offered a share their website on social media, partner with the company and sponsor them. And that's a way of giving them value. And then ask basically, Hey, share my article and then if you don't mind putting a link on your site to my article so that people can find it. I'd really appreciate it. So that's another good way of creating value win-win situations and getting a quality backlink from a local blog. So another way you can get a backlink is write and publish a blog post featuring other local businesses. So it kinda make your own business directory and just write a blog post with a paragraph similar to the post that I mentioned. The last video that we're doing for everybody on this training, on this shared spreadsheet, he basically just write a paragraph or two about each business, the business name link to their sites and just make a blog post about local businesses that aren't your direct competitors. And then you reach out to each of them and let them know you've made a post and ask them to share it, can link to it from their site if they wish. Be like, Hey, I just made this post ruined your business. I want to let other people know about it. If you want. I'd love to get some more traffic to this posts. Have you in mind sharing it on your social media and linking to it from your site. I'd really appreciate it. And a lot of times they'll just send it to their marketing person or their manager, whoever managed their site, and they'll get it done. And it's a win-win scenario. And another way you can get guest posts, which I think I mentioned in the last video was to use Fiverr.com to purchase a guest posting and back linking service. Now you have to pay for it, but it can be more if you just don't want to do all the work that I've just outlined in the first few steps. This can be a great solution that uses just a little bit of an investment, but if it helps get you ranked on the first page, it definitely has a good return, especially over the long term, because you only have to do it a few times or, you know, invest once. And then once you're ranked, hopefully you stay ranked for a long time and you can gain more and more customers and have a positive return on your investment. So I recommend using this guy right here on Fiverr. I've used them a lot. So yeah, there you go. Those are some ways you can get backlinks to your page now to get ranked, you need to have backlinks. So in order to get the your results, you're definitely going to need to participate in at least 85 percent of these tactics to get some backlinks. And then you'll have to wait a few weeks for Google to scan all those pages to see are links, to see the links, read them, and then rank your page. So make sure that you, you can't do all of these because a time sake like and you're not ranked at this point, just take your time, do these things as you can, save some money, invest in some linking services because back linking is one of two most important ways to get a page ranked after on-page optimization. So super-important. So I hope this helps you get some ideas on how to get backlinks. And in the next video, we're quite near done this training with this training because we covered on-page optimization, off-page optimization, how to get backlinks. And I think we've covered and learned a lot. So I'm just going to do one more video where we review everything. And then after that, you can schedule your 15 minute consultation call with me where I review everything with you. We'd go over it and then we'll have to just wait a few weeks to see for all the links that you've made to go through, get read by Google's algorithm, and get your page rate. At that point, we'll revisit and see where you're at and how I can help you and how we can be successful. I want you to be successful. That's my goal at this whole training. So let's do a quick review, schedule our one-on-one call, and make sure you get ranked.
12. Last Video: All right everybody, This is the last video I'm going to make in this training and I'm going to review some things that we've covered so far and then talk about our next steps for your page getting ranked. So at this point you should have your page fully optimized and published targeting, service you offer and your location, whether it be a city or region, and with the city and service together as your H1 title and in your URL, you should have a long page of content with at least 2000 words or more with internal and external links. Optimized media such as images and videos, and an embedded map. And everything we've talked about with on-page optimization. And then at this point, you should have also at least had a few backlinks from all the shared back linking we're gonna do on our shared spreadsheet that I mentioned in our last training, as well as a guest post on a site I manage the athletic events supply.com to get you some backlinks. I am going to share my screen real quick and just review some things with the backlinks to show you. So right here I have a profile up then I'm making for a local.com, which was one of the paid pages I listed right here to get backlinks from a local directory. This one, you local. And I just want to say as an example, when you're putting your website in these profiles, I'm not putting my main domain, but I'm putting this site. I want to get ranked in this profile. So I just wanted to make that point. And then I'm going to find a category. Make sure you put in this website URL that you want to get ranked rather than your domain. So now let's move on. So I want to mention them that you should make a spreadsheet or a document to keep track of all of your Backlinks include the website URL. You placed your link on, their domain authority and the anchor text and include the URL of the page that you're linking to, which should be the page we've been working on this training to get ranked, use the MozBar tool to find out the domain authority. Now, because Google's Search Console indexing tool is disabled, it's going to take some time for Google to scan all the pages where you place your links. So use the MozBar tool and check your page once a week to see if they'll backlinks show up on your page. Now for example, my page here, I'm going to turn on my MozBar, alright, right here. So I've counted at least 10 links, so far backlinks that I've placed too, my page, but on the MozBar it's shows 0 links. So I'm going to have to wait a week or two and wait for those links to show up. And once they do, it will boost my ranking significantly. So make sure to check that out. Now before you schedule your call with me, make sure you spend some time on the back linking section and get at least six to 12 backlinks before we have our call, you should have at least sent me a guest post to put on the athletic events supply.com website where you'll get three backlinks and make sure you've done everything you can to boost your ranking. Each search results page has about ten results per page. So if you're all you have to do is type in your desired search term that you're trying to rank for. So in my case, it's SEO services bountiful. Just type that in in a Google search and scan through each page and see where you, where your page falls in the rankings. And since each page is 10, you can just count if you're on the second page, you're between 11 and 20. If you're on the third page, you're between 21 and 30 because each page shows 10, results. It wherever you, your page lands if it's on the second, third, or fourth page, try adding more text to your page to help the ranking and then do a competitive analysis with the MozBar tool to see how other rankings are more optimized than yours and list the ranking factors to work on to help boost your page. So if I look for my page and it's on the third page of Google, and then I turn on my MozBar, I can see what is ranked above me and see why they're ranked more or above me. Do they have more backlinks on is their domain authority higher? Or, and then I can click on the pages and see, do they have more texts than I do? And I can always put more texts than competitors. Your page should have more text, more internal and external links, and more media than any competitor. That's the key to on-page optimization. If the highest ranked page on the first page has 5000 words of text, you should have it 500 or sorry, 5500 words of texts read and 6 thousand words. More internal, external links, more images, gifts, and videos. And that will help your on-page optimisation be better than all the competitors. I know it takes some time, but once you're ranked, you can get all that traffic to your site and gain more customers. Make sure you have used the shared Google Sheet to add others pages and links to your blog and that you have backlinks on other sites as well that I talked about in our previous backlink training. Wait two weeks before scheduling our call to see where your page lands on the results page, just to give it some time for all the links and for Google to scan everything to see where you land. So at least two weeks to check for backlinks. And then after you've done all of that at this point, you can go ahead and schedule our call. And I will give you some in-depth analysis, pointers and recommendations to help your page get ranked. Then after you apply any recommendations I give you, we can revisit, have another call and see how your pages doing. Once we reassess your results, we can move from there. And again, I want you to be successful. That's why I have a results guarantee or money back. So at that point we can re-assess, see if you're ranked, if you're not, then we can decide what to do for our next steps to make sure you get the results you're looking for. So with everything said and done, I wanted to say thank you and I really appreciate you participating in this training. All the lessons and things you've learned here will help you with your SEO efforts for years to come, you can apply everything you've learned from back linking Tom page optimization to all of your pages, all of your website. And it will help you just in the long-term, gain more organic traffic and ultimately grow your business. So thank you a ton and I look forward to our cough.
