We will get a theoretical background into some theories and some concepts of the tourism industry and then we will see real-life examples. Together we will dive into all the steps of the creation of a tourism product. We will define what is a tour/tourism experience then we will see how to put our idea into the table and then how to make this idea take form. Everything you need to start and you will need to continue performing will be demonstrated to you. Many people have a hobby/passion that they are really good at it and they would like to make it into a tour or an experience as their main profession or a part-time job and they just need a small push. My first experiences were about local legends that I really love them so anything is possible. Please consider this course as the ideal nudge! I have 3 academic degrees in tourism, years of managerial positions inside the tourism industry but I was still afraid/did not have the courage to start performing my own tours/experiences. In order to conclude as I am mentioning in my course, If I can do it obviously you can do it also. So join me to see step by step how you can achieve it.

What is a Tour?: The word tour comes from the word tourists, that you can find it in the old thing bees. And with the word to run, that comes from the friends work. That obviously comes from the Latin word tornado ray, that comes from the Greek word terminus. That means more or less. With a very quick Internet sets can be defined as a journey for pleasure in which several different places are visited. So let's break it down and identify some characteristics of tools in order to make everything more clear. At Tour is the outcome of many different elements. Some of them can be tangible and some of them can be intangible. For example, it can include elements made by humans or even from the clients. For example, in the tool, whether you are attending in a beer brewery and you brew your own beer, then it isn't combination of tangible and intangible elements. In other cases, there are tools that do not even include two guides, like self tours through applications or devices. Furthermore, tours have a life cycle. So it means that you cannot study it. Here, we need to mention that is not mandatory for someone to be a tourist in order to participate in a tool. And let me explain. Tourist is considered someone who is moved at least for 24 hours from his permanent address and his purpose is recreational or for a job or to visit friends or relatives. And it cannot last more than 12 months. Simply, you can have as clients in your tours, also people from the same city with you who want to rediscover the city. Same-day visitors who are not going to spend more than 24 hours in your city. But in the core to listen activity. And as we are going to see later, we can even elevate one as an experience. This presentation, when we refer to a tool, we mean that it is an activity that involves everyone who is visiting your area, need someone else to deliver the information, even guide them to prefer something that they're familiar with. It can be, for example, historical book In the center or a bike ride in the mountain. It can take place and their water or the sky, the limits. And only based on our capabilities, there are tools, for example, with hot air balloons and tours with antique cars, took with professionals or tools, with people who are passionate about their hobbies. And they have transform them into tours. Tours that they involve eating or drinking. And tours where you play games like treasure hunters, private tours, or massive tours, tailored maim, or fixed one. Seriously, the more you think about them, the more they come to your mind and the soul always. Thank you for watching. 3. What is an Experience?: What these inexperience, we saw what he said. Now let's see what does an experience. And in the end, you will decide what you would like to offer. Let's start from the very beginning with an analysis of the experience economy. You will hear many times and you will see the written also many times. Nowadays, tours are called experiences. Airbnb, for example, is called the tours experiences TripAdvisor. He renamed the tools on your experiences, then rename them via Torah, and then the rename them again back to experiences. But why, why they are called experiences instead of two? Let's see what you would think after, when analyze what is an experience. And let's see what you would like to offer to your clients. The experience economy was first used in the 1998 article by Joseph buying the second and dames eight good model in order to describe the latest form of the economy. According to them, the economists have four stages, the labels. In the first one, we have the basic one, the economy of commodities, where the people and trading products with products. In the second state, we have the economy of goods, where the goods of the previous state process and now that exchange for money. The next states of the economists out of the services where you can hire a specialist. In the last stage, where we are now, we have the economies of experience. Let's make it a bit more clear with an example. Let's say that your dotted, your friend or someone you love has a Bertie and you would like to make her a birthday cake. In the first stage of the economy, commodities, you will have to grow your own CDS to cry in them, to make your own flower, to collect the honey from bees, to milk the cows, to get milk, and also process it and make green. And then process again, I mean, but also if you like candles, you will have to make them buy your own. Or you can exchange some of the honey you previously collected with someone who needs some honey and he had some candles to warfare. In this stage of the economy, we don't use money, we don't have currency exchange. You have absolute control about your daughter is going to eat. But it's going to take incredible long time. Literally. If we want to make a cake for someone would love in this level of economy is going to take months, at least the gate we have now in our mind, the second stage of the economy, the economy of goods. You can go and sell the milk or the handy you collected in the previous states of the economy. With the money you will get, you are going to buy prepared flour and butter and the rest of the ingredients you need to make the cake. Steel. You will need to bake the cake alone. But you will have reduced the time and effort. As you can see in this level of economy, we have money. By having money, we can buy some ingredients already prepared and we can focus the extra time we have into making either more money or other things. The third state of the economy services with the money we made by saving time, by buying products or by selling them in the previous stage of the economy. Now we can hire a specialist to make the cake for us. In this state, we are going into a pasture shop. We are actually putting all the responsibility into the past receive. Now we don't have to do anything is literally going to take minutes from months. We jump into minutes when the state is stagnated and when getting a product's doesn't satisfy us anymore, we sets from something gets, as you can guess, is where we are now. In the last stage of the economy, the experience States, we book a specialist team playground that they are going to offer a unique experience? Well, let's take the concept to the tourism 5th in the first states. To everything by Rome. Like in the state of the commodities with transferring the destination by our own, by driving, walking or cycling. And in sand mixed dreamed occasions. If we own our own playing on a helicopter, we haven't book anything. And we go face-to-face to the receptionist and we asked them if they have availability. And when we settled down, we'd go out to the town, totally buy your own and just working around. We have no idea where to go through it. We'd have no idea where we need to buy. We do everything by our own. That sounds amazing and I miss it to be honest. But nowadays is going to require a summit statement. Probably money that I'm going to double thinking before I'm going to have this kind of occasion in the second stage of the economy, the goods one, where we trade goods, we can make our three padded with more comfortable by septum thing, by buying a print travel guide in order to recommend us, actually to read where to stay, what do we eat, what to see? By giving some money and a relatively tiny amount. For a pretty Travel Guide, we're saving us money and time by minimizing the risks. Now we don't have to go out and totally by around and start knocking on the doors of all the hotels and wasting hours to find the accommodation. We don't go out and eat in some questionable restaurants. Now we have someone to recommend this big chains money. And in order to save some money. In that third stage of the economy, the services we go into a travel agency will be booked, everything. And also now we don't need to travel alone. We can use a bus, plane, a plane. And they aren't everything for us before we traveled because now we have a professional to move us around, driver, a pilot, Captain. We usually hire specialists to orient everything for us. And when we mean everything, we mean everything and also provide us some tools. Now we are entering into the experience stage of the economy. And now that everything is at end for us, we have save time and money and we have the help of specialists in order to know where to go. And I'm also in the extreme occasions we have our troubled guy with that. If we don't have either network connection to their phone to communicate with a specialist. In this case, the travel agency. We finally want to do something that is going to be tailor-made for us. We want something that is going to be unique. And remember this board, what these and experience. It is an event or occurrence which leaves an impression on someone. That is a definition of the experience and that is what people are looking at nowadays. They want something to remember. They weren't ending pressure. Noted tool that everyone else can do it. And hundreds of time before them and after them is going to be repeated exactly the same. People. One, It's something totally unique, is it boasts good warfare it to every time, different. But it's possible to offer a different experience because every person is different. The tools take you from point a to point B. And in the middle they provide you with some useful information. But what we can do is to start from the point a. And in their way to provide our clients with unique experience, we want to create something and it's going to stay in the mind of the clients every time they referred to replace to remember this paint time with us and stay with me in order to see how to do it. The service. Thank you for watching. 4. What are the differences between an experience and a tour?: What are the differences between tours and experiences? Both tools and experiences are part of the tourism industry. But what relieves their main difference? Let's start with. The main characteristic of the tools is that we know the beginning and the end of any tour. We know the point a, and we know the point B, the beginning and the end. We know where we are going to start and the ending point. Furthermore, at my opinion, the most important characteristic of a tool is that it doesn't matter how many times you're going to repeat it, it will be the same. The main purpose of a tour is to deliver information. Usually the tours I provided by today operators, that mainly they are global players like booking.com via TripAdvisor. Look, I'm giving you a guide. Obviously. I am part of this example. Everyone can have their tools from those platforms. You don't need to be a gigantic company, but in many cases, you need to be accompany. And that is because in the majority of the countries and places and cities and provisions around the world, You need a license in order to perform and tool in order to deliver to. And in many cases, you also need an insurance depending on the area. Tools can be delivered by professionals, by license guides, by people who are passionate about the subject. And in some cases, volunteers. Volunteers in museums. Delivering tools can take place in a city, in a forest and anti monument, or in a modern monument, in a museum, or in a national park. In a river. By using a small fatty or in a highway, by using a bus. Literally, as we saw before, tool can take place everywhere. But as you notice, the main characteristic is movement and the delivery of information by book in a 2D, you can rest assure that you will see in a couple of hours the majority of the information you need about the place, you would have the opportunity to see the main attraction and generally is considered time-saver and expedient from the other side. Stay load according to the needs of the client. You cannot repeat an experience because it's unique. The main purpose of the expedient is to create memories. We have deliberative information in the tools. Creation of memories in the experience. Usually in order to deliver an experience, you don't need to be a professional travel guide, if you are, is even better. But you need to comply with local laws. For example, if a city requires for you to have a license, then deliver experience, you need to have a license. This is a case here in Spain, especially Barcelona and Madrid. You need to have a local license. But the difference with the tools is that they are not limited to quit warfarin experience. For example. It is becoming very popular for the cookie classes over by local people in their houses. Furthermore, in contrast to the tools, sometimes people who have had experiences can only deliver entertainment. I'm not information, for example, but I'm in experiences. It's a very popular, highly growing sector now where you have the attempts to run some kilometers with a local person. Usually this person doesn't deliver you information. Delivered you some information, but it doesn't deliver you a fully two or some other experiences like to raise your hands Quranic look information and some others not. I've done treasure hunts when the activity has nothing to do with the history of the city and trays your hands or they were actually delivering amazing information about the history of the city. I've done one in Madrid and one in Athens in Greece. Now, this is not the role nowadays, almost all experiences of Adam findable and quality information. But this is not the main purpose of the experience, as I'm repeating. Also, what I also repeated with time is the word experience is usually used with the word glocal. The main purpose of an experience to tell it to as a tourist or a visitor. But as a local, many people now prefer to avoid lemon attractions and they are seeking for a much more authentic experiences. You'll see the use of the words here is people seeking. Now they want something more authentic. Obviously, that does not mean that you cannot have an experience in a touristic place. Totally. You can do it. You can have an amazing experience in New York. You'll have an amazing experience in London, Paris, in Beijing, in super, super populous and touristic cities. Here I'm going to provide you one of my favorite examples. The best way to describe the difference between tools and experience is through the biggest experience platform provider, Airbnb. Now, let me explain. When you book a hotel, you do it because of the good prices. And also to do it because you have the security that you have a standard of services. We are going to receive a standard of services. We know that when we book a hotel, we are going to receive breakfast. Listen, breakfast usually is the same all around the world. We are going to receive some other services like have a person in the reception that if we need something, we can call him. In many hotels, we can have a parking in other hotels, we can have a laundry. Some hotels are also based in good locations. Generally is difficult to find a hotel. Especially of the big things is in a weird case, when we look in Airbnb, I will stay in the house of the local person. We do not have any of the guarantees that we have in the hotel, but we do it for the expedience of living as a local. They break fast that mainly suffered in an Airbnb may contain local delicacies, but it's for sure going to be less diverse than the black parts that we are going to have in a hotel. We are not going to have a receptionist 24 hours actually there for us, but we are going to have an actual local that if we need any information on where to go to eat, wherever we wanted to go to drink. We can ask actual someone who lives in that city. And maybe he suggested something that truly the locals go to location. Usually it's not going to be in the center of the center. You're going to find an amazing anybody in business in the center. But because of the price, usually people tend to book. Airbnb is a little bit outside of the center, but close to metros and other ways of transportation. We also going to move as locals. So similarly to the hotels and the Airbnb IS we have tools and we have experiences with a tool, you know, but you will get. But with the experience we have that promise. We don't have a get and we have a portal ms. Of something more personal around authentic. Obviously, the perfect situation will be a combination of those two to have a standard. So again, Andy, that we are going to receive something unique and authentic, but it's now impossible. Here. I need to mention that obviously there is nothing but with two's me personally, I have delivered countless of them. But if you want to increase their value, so if you already performing or if you wanted to performance and you want to elevate them, you want to have an element of uniqueness. You have to cannot form it into an experience, can be elevated into experiences. Now let's see how we are going to do that. And as always, thank you for watching. 5. Can everyone perform an experience?: Can everyone perform an experience? To answer you this, I have three degrees in tourism, a diploma, a Bachelor, and Master. I have work and I have created a tourism company. So after many years of creating a theoretical and practical background, I can tell you, yes. Obviously, yes, everyone can create it to raise my experience. I have met people who had a very low volume voices, but they manage to captivate very big audiences, big groups, I meant ladies and the user provide historic and experiences about battles and veterans who actually took part in this battle. Listening quietly to everything. I met young people performing street art experiences, and I met all people performing architectural bike experiences. Literally everyone can perform or an experience. This is great for you, but also increases your competition. Some people indeed, C2, activities as an easy way to make some extra money. And that is great. But at the same time, they can have lower standards because it's not their main profession is not their main source of income. They tend to create issues for the people who want to make tourism as their main job. Like in my case, or hopefully in your case, if you have the passion and the knowledge, then in my opinion, and according to my personal experience, you will find your way in that totally. Trust me, I met people who didn't want to work in the tourism industry because they had a little bit of extra weight. Or they believe that they cannot control a group of many people, are they believed that they're not interesting. The opposite. I met people who believed that they know everything. The birthplace is analysis placed in the planet and the tourist, we'll just wait in lines in order to visit it. But the category I am meeting more often are people who either believe that work in tourism. You see they're very easy or very difficult. Work in the tourism sector and especially performing experiences is a professor and that they will put you in the front of your clients and they will decide how worthy you are. You will see later in another chapter the importance of the reviews. The only thing I can guarantee you is at Porto phony or your weight or your appearance, or if you have extra anxiety is not important when you have no later than the passion about your subject. And you really, really want to create or guide or perform an experience. As always, thank you for watching. 6. How to start a Tour or an Experience?P1: As an independent air, a tour guide, or a business owner or coordinator, you need to understand some basic elements of how to start the learning experience. As I mentioned all the time, nowadays, almost everything can be transformed into an experience if you are willing to work hard and if you are passionate about it. Let's start from the very, very obvious. You need to know your subject extremely well. You need to know your subject by heart. You need to know your subject before you even think that engaging with it. If your city requires you to have a license in order to provide historical two, then give the exams. If your country requires from you to give them other kinds of exams, please take them in order to get the proof that you know your subject. If you want to provide a culinary experience, then you need to know by heart all the heights in the required mass of your country. If you want to provide the support experience like we're showing the previous chapter, that now they're running experiences are very popular. Then you need to know first aid. If you don't have to be a doctor. But you need to know the first aid. And at least if something happened to your client or to yourself to be able to solve it. To perform an experience or a tool is not money grab is the way to make money. It's quite the opposite actually. Let's say now we are going to give an example. Let's say you laugh to solve riddles and you're like the history of your town. You can create a hidden treasure game with your friends if you like it. And if your friends enjoying it, then slowly you can start investing in better gadgets like quality maps or a compass or whatever other kinds of materials that you're going to need it. And you are going to investigate the beat and we are going to improve it a little bit. When the tool is a quality standard that is going to satisfy it. You know, your friends, you, then you will have to contact with someone professional. And these professional can be a tour guide or historian depending on what kind of tool you want to create. And they're going to help you with a script. You can do it by your own, but if you starting, I recommend you to hire a professional. Now it's more bracket. Always, always, always provide your clients with information that you are sure about it. As a professional in the field, I honestly appreciate when another guide slash experienced performer is responding to me with honestly, I don't know or please let me take I am sorry. I am out of my expertise here. You can imagine how much I appreciate when people say that to me because it means they are honest. It's impossible for us to know everything. And after many years of bone that with the clients, I can assure you that the clients appreciate that also. Now, closing the bracket back in the equation. Now that you have your guts for your reader or your treasure tool, you have conduct the professional in the field, and you have the script. And the script, these contain reliable information and information that you are sure about them. Now you can stand performing your tutor or your experience to people from your area. This is extremely important before you put it into any platform, you need first to perform it in the locals. It, tourists from abroad or another region is going to have 0 knowledge about your area. So maybe he cannot detect any flows. It doesn't mean that there's not a good tool. Maybe it has some logical flows, but someone from your area may be, can be able to recommend you embed the root, or going to ask your questions. Someone from abroad will not ask you that easily. For example, this a personal example. In a tool I created for the city of Madrid. At 1, the clients were listening to study about the building and the main square, the mean square is called Bertha, the soul. And there is a very big middle in the middle that is called the house of the post-office. That building was never a post office. And the people of the city of Madrid, that immediately when I perform it to them, to local, they asked me why it's called like that. Obviously, I didn't know. As I mentioned before, I was honest. I said I didn't know, but I started resetting because I didn't like not to know. And also it was my first stop. I did my research and they found that is called like that simply because the street behind that building is called the post-office treat. Now. This top, as I mentioned, is the first of the tour and I use this information to break the ice. Starting like that. Here you can see the house of the post-office. That building used to be many, many different things in the past, except the post-office. It used to be pretty zone a police station. In a period of time, you used to be offices. Nowadays. It is the headquarters of the Community of Madrid. And this the official place where the people who are celebrating the change of linear years. Now I would like you to tell me why this is called the heart of the post office. And in that moment, I'm breaking the ice with a client because I was encouraged them to discuss and in-between them. And as I mentioned many times, this is only the beginning of the tool. I create this small trick to break the ice in the beginning of whom I told by the observation of the local people in the trials. So always do trials with locals and another case, creating a footstool also in Madrid about the more traditional foods are mandated, the most additional wall and the more traditional fast food is a fried squid calamari sandwich. So obviously it was included as a stop to go with my clients to eat a calamari sandwich whenever it's preparing it. And there was taken the pixels, right? In this case, I had the local asking me with a real question is ice that it doesn't make any sense for my grid. That is in landlocked city to have acid traditional fast food, seafood. Obviously, I never realized immediately. It is, is it? Because obviously I didn't know why it is. And I found that this has roots in the past because the tildes support the importation of the fees and they surfaced into Madrid's religious regions. During the opinion of the LinkedIn, you could admit the child support to eat seafood. These random event has as a result mandate, even if it's a landlocked, to have one of the biggest fees and seafood consumption in the world nowadays, only behind Tokyo. That is a Csa heat down. Obviously. I use that as a game and I was making quizzes with my clients, like tell them why calamari sandwich so famous here? Or can you guess which is the most famous fast food of Madrid? Or I was using some random says, I see this and Madrid between them. And there was asking them which city of those do you think they have a higher fish consumption? Again, although small conversation and questions in order to break the ice were provided by the locals by simply asking me simple questions that they were so obvious. And now I made these things, these small, breaking the conversations and questions and providing information to my clients that are going to stick with them. This happened to me countless of time. So it is mandatory to first perform your tour earlier experience to local people. Now, let's say that you already have all the requirements and your country wants from you. You know the subject perfectly. You have performing to the locals and you have taken into consideration the comments of them. 7. How to start a Tour or an Experience?P2: How do we make a 2D and experience? How do we make a cooking class and experience a tool, as we said before, it's deliberative information. But how we make that malcolm bald? First of all, the most important thing is to keep everything is more numbers. This is my rule actually. My role is eight people maximum. I know that it sounds like you are willing to lose money in like that. And I know that many people will tell you that the secret to make money in dualism is large groups, for example, qualities. But you do intentional tool. You just read a script, you don't deliver an experience. The experience shouldn't be better. Cernan it unique. And to give the feeling to the claim that there's someone special. When you have this MAN group of people you can, they may instantly to make your clients to feel unique. I mentioned before all these small quizzes that I'm making to my plans. Now. Another example, when I introduced myself to the clients, I always ask when names and where are they from and if it is the first time in the area, when it says modal group, you take all this information and then you use them to make the tool more personal. So what we actually do, we transforming the tooling to experience. Now, I'm going to give you examples as I always do, to make it a bit more clear. Those examples are taken from my personal experience. Now, Spain in Madrid, because of the geographical location, are visited by many French people. So every time I had French clients, I will deliberately passing from street was called victor walk. Before we go there, there was asking all the group to tell me who is according to them, the most famous friends. Victor remote, this is super famous writer. Usually the people were responding to the probably the most famous French system, Napoleon, or the current president end of that year. And sometimes they were mentioning Victor Hugo. Then I was building this trip and I was asking them, how much time do you think victory book Staying that did link in that street in order to take his name. I was asking them all to guess how months and then I was revealing that he only state where survivors but, you know, we were making a small game. Someone was saying one year, five years, either one day, they'll say he never came here. So we're making always a small group conversation. When I had Italian clients, I will always solve them. One of the most historic buildings of Monday that is called generally building. Generally is one of the most famous insurances. And this building is one of the most famous in Madrid. And my today and clients always like it. If I had the abilities client, I was taking them to the most traditional borough of the city of Madrid that is called ****. That in the UK English it means in this blank male genitalia. Obviously it has nothing to do with that they call the rooster is a symbol of the French monarchy and the Western inspired by that. But I was asking them to guess why they have a neurospora simple. Then I found an American Texas barbecue in the center of Madrid. And because now Madrid and Dallas, Texas have a connection. I had many claims from Texas and there was always passing them outside of this barbecue place. They were over surprised that they actually can find a barbecue Texas in the center of Madrid. All these things, I made them instantly, knew the city and made it so well that they have the ability to make all my clients to feel unique. And I was doing the tools for them to make my clients feel unique. And I was doing the tooth for them. So it wasn't included in the modern Western experience. And I was hearing these stories in the beginning. I told you, I was asking where are they from, and I was paying attention to them. This is how you make something unique. This is where we stopped performing a tool and became an experience provided. This is how you personalize it, we make it unique. I'm going to repeat these words, maintains. After hundreds of two, I could solve the oldest hospital to the peoples who are studying, working in medical, in the medical sector, for example, when I had doctors or nurses, when I had civil engineers, architects, I will take them to some of the most famous and unique architectural examples in the city of Madrid. One of my favorite examples is that Ireland, where is the oldest fire hydrant? Because a client once asked me and I have no idea. And then I had a group of firefighters and I showed them, I showed them the coat of arms of the material firefighters. And they became very emotional that I pay so much attention to them that I make it so personal. You know, I heard in the beginning of the tool that these people are firefighters and they came here for vacation and I took them in the oldest fire hydrant. And, you know, it's not something that happened in a simple tool and it's not something that I can happen in a tour of many people. When you have a small group of people, you personalize, it doesn't have to be more expensive. Once a candidate coupled asked me if that anterior it's tiled can attend in handling tool. And I told him obviously, because they told me they said it's a big fan of ghost stories. I said, and they pump the list of traditional Spanish birth stories that I printed for them. I also so some of the stories in order to tell, to de-link the tool and get the law report of the most traditionalist with soap of Madrid that had the shape of a ghost. As a thank you for the time that search my experience and for the entertainment. And also because she's setting the same person with me. I love local legends and stories and this kind of stuff. All those preparations happen in a couple of hours and they send me in the morning. I was lead in the evening. The result was that this couple, this coupled with the tight and they loved it too so much that they even message me after the year. And they're still talking about my tour. And the inside is commenting about lollipop that I gave here. That was amazing, That wasn't a tour anymore. That was an experience. You see here in this example, when a handy tool became an experience, in other rule I have is always getting some traits. If I have written customers, I remember a couple from Australia that they moved to Madrid and they want to lend the city to do some tours every time they had different order relative visiting them. Every time I was paying attention to what they like and I was getting to them next time. So for example, we're passing in front of the wine store. They've been discussing with the wine delight. I was getting them for the next time now. So I was asking sneaky, kind of splits the lake and stuff like that. Those things are symbolic. They're not expensive, but there are valuable enough to elevate it during the experience. Now, let's see, remember the definition of the experience. Experience is an event or occurrence. It leaves an impression too sanguine. So I was leaving the profession, those people, and I'm super proud about that. So far we talk of how to personalize it to another elevated in experience tour is the provision of information, is to provide information to make something is unique each and experience. Now, in order to elevate it to another, to make something more unique. We have many tools. We have personalization that we talk now, but we have other things to make it memorable. You can create an incredible atmospheric, many different ways. I don't recommend it, but I see that the very popular, you can catch them for example. I personally don't like it, but I saw many people liked it and they talk about it. And it is something that branch it into their brains. So there is an experience for them for sure. But me, I don't like it a lot. In those examples are the people who dress like beef eaters and they do tools in London, or the people who dressed as pirates or the people who dress the according to the period of the tour they providing, the engagement declines to become part of the experience. Now, Another example I have is that in S3 tool, we were offering in the end of the tool to the clients an option to make a small graffiti. So you were learning about FETs and in the end of the tool you could do your own graffiti on equality had paper and you can take it as a souvenir. It wasn't an extra price and that was totally free and it was great. And another treasure hunt tool that I had another participate in Athens. In Greece. You will be able to show all the results. You will win a golden crown of olive leaves. Obviously it was plastic believers equality one. So the purpose of this was that it was a very difficult and not for everyone. And if you were able to forget, you can deliver. And another case and the private distillery in Scotland. Super boring. But in the end, we have the opportunity to steal our own recipe out, to blend around whiskeys, and to make our own totally unique whiskeys. That was great. Now, if you're planning to deliver a footstool or a cooking class, then it's important to loan on the Stokes and all the gradients plainly. I'm going to give an example that I saw with my eyes. If you use tomato, tomato according to where you're from in the recipe, you need to know what kind of tomato you use when the domain to arrive in Spain, permanent in America, and from which country it's originated. Why you need to know this? Now, let's see what I faced with my own eyes as an example. What you prefer and what sounds were interesting to you. Now we're going to add some tomatoes to the pan. Let's make a small quiz where the winner is going to win the ability to taste our current recipe first, can you tell me a fruit that arrived from Russia and America around the 1800s to Spain. And the beginning was considered a relative of the eggplant. And also europeans were very suspicious tweeted because the first moot analogies consider it as a relative or belladonna. Now, you see here we have formation domain TO and we have a study. Now. You continue. No, no ideas. What if I tell you that these fruit became the main liquid limit theorem and diet. No. What about noun? Without that, we cannot have a pizza. Bravo, the green booger Lucan is the tomato. Obviously. You don't need to make a story or a quiz every time about every gradient. Otherwise it's going to become a super long and very, very boring and getting some kind of performance. But is important to know some elements, some parts of your experience, very, very good place to show professionalism. And second, to make it interesting, when you have a small group of people, you can engage with all of them. And you can make these two hours to count with small gestures. Like if you know a hidden spot in the city and you take them there and you ask for a phone and you take them. I photograph. Every time they're going to see that photo, they're going to remember of you. I have participated as clients and tools that seriously and don't remember anything about I remember the places where I took the tool, but I don't remember anything. It is very important to understand that very few people want someone to lead them and travel date. Because many of the tools nowadays is this test. You hire someone for a couple of hours to provide you with the same information that are in a travel gate. Some people obviously wanted, but not the majority. The majority is seeking for an experience and they seek for something unique. And because all of us, we are unique. And as always, thank you for watching. 8. Do we need a script?: Do we need a script or not? I mentioned in the previous sections that I use and I'm just creating scripts. But when I'm talking with other experience creators, we always discuss the hot topic. Even need a script or not. Obviously, I am going to be boring. And I'm going to tell you that it depends. Obviously, we cannot have a strict script, a script that we will follow blindly. As we said in the chapter before, where we compare the tools with the experiences, the uniqueness of the experiences is that they cannot be repeated. That is the main characteristic of the experiences. But, but we can do is that we can have a guideline that we can use. And let me explain. As I mentioned in the chapter of how to start experience the previous chapters, there is a point where you know your subject so well. And the next step is to seek some help to create your script. What that means is that we will need to have a specific set of correct and precise details in order to be able to provide our clients with up-to-date information. That does not mean that you will have to follow it blindly. Let's say that you offer a byte architectural experience and you realize that your clients like more than architectural structures, then it's pointless to keep showing them buildings that they do not prefer. That adaptation ability is the key. And another example is what happened to me many times during the food experiences. For some reason, people do not bother to inform you about any food restrictions or preferences before the meet your personality. You can have in your mind a more or less structure script, but you need to know many choices. And as we said, to have the ability to adapt without the client notices. In the case of experiences, we have three main trunk is the script you have in your mind. But the brand sees the adaptations. So it's up to you to always create a unique experience. Here I need to mention some exceptions, like for example, some pressure hands that you literally give the script to the clients. So they have to follow it to in order to solve and reach the end. So in that case is we have the beginning and the end, like most of the tours. In this case, in this experience, we also have the beginning and the end. But what will happen in the middle is up to you to make it unique. Another exception asked for the experiences where we need to blindly follow the script is the safety instructions. If there is a dangerous threatening path and everyone needs to pass a one by one with two meter distances. And you have a couple who wants to pass Together, we are not going to allow them. If there is a food tour food experience and the parents won't you to serve alcohol to an underage person? Definitely, you will refuse it. We never change or adapt the safety instructions. This part of the script, we never touch it. Now, in order to conclude, by having this script, we have 50% of our experience because we have a guide to help us move around. But the other 50% is up to us to make it unique for the clients. By knowing our subject very well, we can almost always guarantee that we will offer a unique experience to our clients. Theme of the script as our combustion. It is mandatory to use it in order to navigate, but it's up to us of how much we are going to use it. That's always thank you for watching. 9. Some Examples of Experiences.: Hello. Now I'm going to provide you with some examples of experiences. I am planning to update this chapter very often because the possibilities are countless, always evolving. Let's start with the most popular of the experiences, the historical ones. It can be, for example, a name in history, but also it can be about modern history. It can have countless forums. For example, there are historical experiences where they are delimited through the food of its period. You sit in a table and they provide you different disease. And it's, this is from a specific period and they're telling you the history behind it was brilliant. Another example I have, it was that was I participate in historical experience about the Spanish Civil War, that we're using the buildings of only one strip to deliver all the period of the world. And it was fantastic. Was one of these buildings still have bullet holes and other building by users, a hospital in that period, another building was the opposite political party of the period. It was a great idea. Only one street, almost all the history of the world. Now, you can offer historical treasure hands or MIT the mysteries when you will need to learn about the specific event that can be, for example, the Jack the Ripper or any other kind of depend that is probably the most famous one of a specific period. Very popular and also are very discovery experiences where you did discover replace usually cities. And mainly they contain discovery of new food scenes or discovering the new trends or foodborne arts like graffiti is in big cities. We can also find luxury experiences where you provide a local with a specific budget. And then you have someone taking you into the hidden gems of the city to soap, eat, drink, and etc. Usually this kind of experiences involve high levels of personalization, like Taylors or unique handmade jewels. On the other side, we have the vintage secondhand experiences where you do exactly the same with Alexa experience, but you're setting for unique products like a period pieces, vintage clothes, Analytics. Obviously in that case, that budget is, I'm only not extremely smaller but smaller. Now. We also have experiences with banks, rollers, electric scooters, that they're becoming more unpopular in the cities. And especially they are very helpful for people who wanted to make the experiences a little bit less tiring and to cover more ground. Usually people do who visiting a city, they do too many things in just a few days, so they tend to be tired in the end. So they choose these kinds of experiences where they use something else to move them around. Probably the most famous of all, the food, the experiences, are the ones who are becoming more and more popular. From how to make your own cheese to visiting a house of a local and cooking together. And from experiences like where you have to fit your own fees to blend your own whiskey, the culinary experiences and Israeli Without Limits, foot grows and Topaz experiences were interesting and chocolate fountains. This is a truly wonderful way to provide a truly unique experience because few things are guaranteed to be unique. Every, and it's time and food is one of them, very popular and also the adventure experiences. Similarly to the food, one's almost anything you can imagine now can become an experience. Leave a couple of hours in the night and learn how to sort fight mountain bike experiences, scuba diving experiences, not getting experiences, whitewater rafting, everything you always wanted to try outside. Now we are going to talk about my favorite kinds of experiences. That is the new skills experiences. I really like those where you usually meet passionate local people and your lens. Something new from how to make a vertical garden or the closed state, to how to play a local board game. Patel workshops with states of the area you are now, and how to create the music and instruments, how to make a local hotel, and how to collect honey. The possibilities here, like food, also infinite. I will give you an example of one of my favorite experiences of this kind, participated months in advance in experience when you had to learn how to make comics from 0 in just two hours. And then you have to depict some scenes of the Greek mythology. I never saw a better way to teach small children events of the Greek mythology. It was brilliant as we talked about the educational part of some of the experiences. Also we have experiences about the white life that mainly has as a main focus, their understanding and conservation instead of observation like working with a donkey, not on the donkey but within them for a couple of hours, experience how it's to be a worker in a white lives shelter and observed the control feeling of some animals like vultures that is happening in order to conserve these kinds of experiences. Transforming into a valuable tool of how to make conservation more clear, especially for small children. Last but not least, in the last few years, I have been really, really happy to see many experiences related to running and sports. You can be running in historical centered or running in a little bit. Big stadium and running and being a mile or a running. And tonight, the amount of people who are running is getting higher and higher. Similarly, the experiences that their focus to the runners are getting more and more. Now, I hope I provide you with some examples. I hope I give you this particle. It's up to you to make the spark a fire. Me, as I mentioned before, I had the passion about local legends. I had the passion about the haunting stories and then transform them into experiences. This is how I started. I'm highly going to recommend you to do the same. It doesn't matter what is your passion, it doesn't matter what to expect these, it doesn't matter what you'd like. If you sit down and you think about it, you will be able to transform it into an experience. I did it. You can do it. That service. Thank you for watching. 10. Platforms.: Hello. I'm going to start with the elephant in the room. Obviously, if we have Begins through our own website, we denote pay commissions. So we totally prefer people to book through our website. The problem is that it's almost impossible to have a website so sophisticated in comparison to a platform like Tripadvisor or Airbnb. Those platforms are using sophisticated, very, very complicated algorithm that they can actually bring so many more clients. For example, this happened many times to me. When a client is taking a restaurant close to a starting point of your experience and you have uploaded your experience into TripAdvisor, they're going to get recommended of your own experience, even if they book the restaurant or not. Something impossible through our own website. When someone is booking in a commendation and need B&B or in Booking.com or in hotels.com. Some tools they are going to appear to them if the starting point is close to this accommodation. These groups here to have our own website and to be a very good website. And trust me, your clients, when they ask you if you offer more tools or more experiences, is always better to recommend your website and most of the clients don't have any problem to book through our own websites. But we need to understand how the platforms are working and we need to work with them. Obviously, you need to understand how the algorithms are working in every platform. For example, some platforms are preferring to promote tools or experiences that they cost less than twenty-five dollars. That was in reality a couple of years ago in some platforms. Don't ask me why. I don't know how the algorithm working. I know what they are preferring but not why or how they are working. Some other platforms preferred tools so that they start and some specific times. It is very important to attend as many webinars, they're going to offer to you. Trust me, all of the big platforms they are offering webinars to explain to you how they are working. It is totally recommended to do in combination of your own website. And then most famous AS or does whatever the test, online travel agencies. So if you want to start again in tourism or if you have it to this business, those companies have to become familiar to you. Even it will take them or not. For example, Airbnb, expedia.com, TripAdvisor misclassify author is the same company. Trivago will get your guide. Those companies half to become familiar to us. Obviously, you will need to take the otoscope that there are more popular in your area by the time you are going to discover by your own, how you are going to work, where you are going to post your experiences in bits platform you prefer with platforms have the better messaging system to communicate with our clients. Bits platforms has admitted commissions. I'm not here to advertise a specific platform. I can tell you that me, I'm using Airbnb and TripAdvisor. Those mainly those to some of the platforms didn't accept me. I don't know why. Some other platforms they accept me but I didn't like them. But the good thing is that they super-easy to use. All of them is super easy to register. Some of them require insurance. I had an insurance, so I don't have any problem number that some of the bib will have a problem. They don't have insurance, some other like maybe you don't need to have an extra insurance. In some others you have, for example, TripAdvisor. You need to have an insurance and you have to upload it. You are going to find there are so many out there, you're going to find for sure the platform that fits in your needs. As always. Thank you for watching. 11. What you need to know before the first client.: Hello. Now we know what is in experience, how to start one, how to elevate it to or into one. And which platform to use. Now I think is the appropriate time to check what we need to know before the arrival of our first plant. Here, I'm going to provide you with them most common questions that tourists and visitors are making and the word unexpected outcomes you need to think about before to perform an experience or a tool as a company or as an individual. Toilets. The number one overall is continuously to know where your clients can access into toilets. You cannot believe how many times my clients asked me for access to toilets. Sometimes they're coming to the experience after a meal. So they had the beer or a wine and they need to visit the toilet. Or in the summer, Some clients drink a little bit too much water so they need to visit. It told us a little bit more often. And many of them there are now in a new territory, so they new cosines for them. So there will be more sensitive to food sayings is they always need access to toilet and you need to know all the time the closest one possible to you. Very similarly to a toilet, it is crucial and very important to know what the time where you can find water. If you are a business owner or even individual, you can create a leaflet with recommendations, for example, you can, it doesn't have to be leaflet nowadays. You can also make the QR code. But let's say lifted the social suffering tangible and people like that. You can put the flea markets and think markets, some interesting restaurants, and some of the things that you think your client should know. Again, here you need to differentiate yourself from the big companies. They recommend the typical ones, the big changes just to get an extra permission. You are the unique one, the one who first inexperience. And that's why you will mention that all of these places are real choices and you don't take any commissions of recommending them. That's why your clients do not need to mention your name, the name of your company. In that way, you create an atmosphere of trust. Many, many clients also are asking how to return back to the hotel by means of transportation from the ending point of our experience. So you need to know the transportation system of your radii relatively good. Last but not least, many, many clients are asking whether the typical souvenirs or sweet desserts or something they can took from your area but comb. So here also the area where you can sign by recommending something totally unique. And that's always thank you for watching. 12. How do we price our products?: Hello and welcome to the pricing chapter. Now, let's start with the truth. Even if you are working alone or you owning company, you will always feel that you are pricing your products wrongly. Many times you would ask yourself, is it actually worth it to do this tour in a super hot, whether it's asked for one client and let's say $10. And other times you will sit in your office and you will look for some future bookings worth of thousands of dollars in just a couple of days. And you will ask yourself, is this, this is actually happening with a surprise. In all businesses fortunately or unfortunately, you have to take as a Christian duration or for the competition. Except if you're doing something totally unique, that you are actually going to have the monopoly. For example, if you are the hot air balloon excursion, this kind of companies usually, these tend to be only one operating an area. In all the other cases, you have to take as a question duration the prices of the people who are offering something similar. We said that the experiences are unique, but there are some that they are in the same category. For example, experiences about fooled. You have to take a sequence duration, the price of the other people who are offering similar things that you never, ever and their value, your products. Or engagement. If you are seriously engaged with the creation of an experience or a tool, and you believe that you can offer a unique service, then you can put any prizes you'd like. And you will refer to your competitors to raise their prices, or in some cases, logarithm. We talked about the platforms in the previous chapters. But what you need to understand the very weird is how their commissions are working and take into consideration your real income. Let's see a real life example, Airbnb that I mentioned before in the chapter of the platforms that I'm using a lot. It's adding a 20% commission in an experience. So we have 20% of the Airbnb commission plus 21% of the final price. That is the Spanish taxation, the EVA plus €1, that is my train pass by, plus €1. That is a price of four bottles of water is always cutting with me. To uterus better equals 6.4. That is a commissioner on the Airbnb plus the €2 of my expenses plus in 5.37. That is expanse taxation in the price I'm going to receive after the commission of the Airbnb. So from the €32 in my pocket are going to enter theta2 minus 6.4 plus two plus 5.37 equals 32 minus 13.76. The real amount of the money are going to enter into my pocket after the two or the experience of the €32 is going to be 18.2218. But you know what I mean? When you perform in twos or experiences that cost on the platform €32, then you need to have 55 people to make a profit of €1000 that this might stem from many people. Obviously, when you perform experiences or tools with 55 planes, you have series chances to receive some tips. Sometimes they can be big or sometimes it can be just a cookie. It happened to me. It's impossible to calculate that. And this is the pleasant surprise. Take as a consideration that in those €1000, I haven't calculate your personal insurance or the students or the accompany. And obviously when you perform experiences that extra, extra expenses like tickets, equipment rental or products like food or topos or wine. You have to take on them as exploration, but also those roles, expenses for tax, a redundancy. But that varies depending on the country. So please please please have in your mind that if you offer three hours to experience of 33 uterus, it made look that you are asking for €11 per hour that you only need. Third, declines to reach the milestone of a €1000 or dollars that some people translate, that they just need one client per day and they have to work three hours per day. And they're going to make easily a thousand years, but in reality, they're going to mate, as we said, the 6.6 of the Airbnb permission plus the 545 of the Spanish Succession in data that applies after the taxation plus the two for your personal expenses is going to be 18 Euros. Instead of making €1000, they are going to make 565. This is the case when someone is 100% of legal and he's doing everything by paper and that always, always, always recommend you to do everything. Legally. I've seen many times in my career and I'm seeing people full of energy started working in the tourism industry only to get disappointed after their first Saturday. And many companies have a hundredths of clients or they're struggling to make their profit. So be ready to work a lot and ask what you believe you deserve to receive. Always, always asked the price. You'd think you'd be safe. Here we are going to return to my point above of how we report them is to have bookings through your website or on site. If you have bookings that way, you are worried the commission of the authors, one that I want to make clear here is not to be afraid to price your products with a price that reflects your effort. I'm repeating that all the time during this chapter, but it's super reporting to do that because I've seen that all the time they work, their hours were spending the complete tutor and experience are awarded. Pricing manipulation happens all the time. So you may see your competitors the same, more or less experienced or tool with you super competitive. But this is happening in order to attract traffic in their website or to attract some traffic into their soaps or the physical subs. And it can happen exactly the opposite. Some they have an extremely expensive product to the sense of value into the company. This company is offering to serve thousands of Euros, but also the opening Sam or 50 extremely potent comment here that I need to mention is that you can only use them and you receive from a tool only after you complete it. I saw that so many times, especially with new companies, that they use the money they receive four months in advance and they collapse when there is a cancellation. Please please please always use the My name of a tutoring experience that is completed. Now that I mentioned about the cancellation policy, we are going now to our next topic, the service. Thank you for watching. 13. Policies: Hello. Now in this chapter we are going to talk about policies. In many countries, EPC legal not to have policies on your website and they are fixed. So please ask a professional in your area. Obviously, when you are working with external entities like you are following the policies that they have. When you are creating your own policies, then you have to take some things in consideration like cancellation policy. That is the most common policy that your clients are going to reference to you. Here you need to understand the area where you are performing. If you perform in Scotland or in Canada, for example. And you know that sometimes it's going to rain a lot, then you need to make it clear that your tools can be canceled by the client or the operator or the performer because of the width there. If not, then you would have to perform the tool in their aim. Me personally, I love performing tools and experiences in the rain because we are actually literally alone. Me and my clients. But in general, most of the people don't prefer it. And also it's dangerous because it's more slippery for opposite that link from the previous example. If it's very hot, you need to have the option to cancel the tool or even the client to be able to consent without any problem. Otherwise, you put everyone in danger. You cannot perform under extreme conditions like very, very cold weather. Here in the cancellation policies, what is the most crucial is the time limits t dt, when the client can cancel the tool and get a full refund until when the client can cancel and get that he found and when the client can cancel and not receive any refund. Again, we have to be very, very clear about the exceptions. It's not nice to receiving isolation, but also is not logical not to give a full refund to your clients if they face a natural catastrophe or a pandemic. Personal sickness. Another policy that you should consider to include permission of the use of the photographs that the guys had taken. There is nothing more common when you finish an experience or a tour to ask for a photo with her clients, that is going to be the main promotional material, but only if you make clear that you have the right to use the photographs. I'm only after you ask the permission from them. Furthermore, you need to make clear to your policies that you need to know if your clients have any health issue, that you need to know any health issue. We never asked for medical records as an acidic gas. But for example, if you're doing an experience that consists jump scarce or high-intensity activities like running experiences we talked before, you need to know if your clients have any heart issues. For example, not the exact medical condition, but if there is one that you should take as a question duration. Another very important policy is the one about the age limitations. Make sure that in your policies, you will make clear that we are going to respect the local laws. In case of a food experience or a food tool. That, for example, you can never, ever offer something alcoholic to a person that is not in a digital age. I've seen that so many times. And it's so dangerous for you, for the person that participates and for your company. If you represent the company. Also, you need to make sure in the policies that we mentioned that the person that provides the tool cannot wait until some specific minutes. Personally, I have a 50 minutes gap. If the rest of the guy and I agree to wait. Otherwise, please five-minutes. Also, if I'm providing a private experience or a private tool, then I have a 45-minute limit. But in the case that they don't have another experience later, if I have, then my limit is 30 minutes maximum. This was very, very clear in the policies section of my website. Furthermore, you need to make very, very clear in your policies. If your clients need to have their insurance or if you're going to cover them. As I said above, in my case, I always had an insurance for me and my clients because it's the log here in Spain, you cannot do anything without having an insurance. But in many other places, maybe it's not necessary to provide your clients within students. So you need to make it clear. Last but not least, make sure that you comply with the loss of privacy policies and cookies in your website. That's always thank you for watching. 14. Communication with the client.: Hello and welcome to the communication with a client tapped it. I cannot mention enough, how important is the communication with the client? You know what they say about the first impression. In the case of your client, that would be the first communication and more specific, when you send the first message. If you are using platforms like we mentioned before in the previous chapters like Airbnb experiences or by after. That is the experience platform of TripAdvisor, then you can create automated messages. Patient ID. I had automated messages with all the details of where we're going to meet with our clients or how they can go there. What this will bring, for example, sunglasses, calf, an umbrella, warm clothes or sports clothes. And how they can recognize me from all the other guides. When I was still performing Airbnb experiences, I used to send a selfie of me one hour before the meeting in order to be able to recognize me. Later when I co-created the company, I was sending them that they would recognize the guides of our company from R0, characteristic blue shoes that everyone used to where obviously, when we have bookings through our website, we need to be very, very careful with the communication in males to get them on time, to respond on time, and not to lose any in this pump fire or something similar. I met many, many people who tend to have issues when they had so many males and they collapse. So unfortunately, we need to be aware all the time. Here, again, I need to mention that the communication does not stop when the two or the experience fitness, but it may continue also after, for example, maybe our clients come back to communicate with us, especially when they have a question about something we said during the two, or if they want the recommendation about a specific restaurant, or in some cases when they need the taxi number that we trust, or even directions how they can go to their hotel or how they can go to their port from their accommodation or similar things like that. We start this chapter by saying that their communication with our clients is that first impression, but also it can be the last impression. I cannot mention how important is to have mouth to mouth advertisement through our clients. This is the best way of advertisement. We can have thousands of followers on Instagram, but nothing can compete. The old mouth to mouth recommendation is crucial for us to keep a good communication with our clients, whatever they need. This is how we can achieve a technique clients, this is how we cannot see a sense of familiarity with our clients. This is, again, I'm going to repeat that counters of times. This is how we create experiences when we became more familiar. And as always, thank you for watching. 15. Appearance/What to wear.: Hello and welcome to the chapter about the appearance. I never thought that the appearance is going to be something that people would need to worry about before they perform an experience or a tool. But sometimes it can be important. In some experiences, your clothes can be your mirror. And let me explain. If you perform something called inhere, something related to food, then it's an absolute must to reflect cleanliness and hygiene standards. Also, if we request from my clients to bring with them, for example, trekking boots for a specific trekking experience. Then we also need to wear the most striking boots. Remember that our clients will be outside of their comfort zone. So with our behavior, we can motivate them. Is it hot? We're kinda where a cup, from my experience, our clients will also go into where a cup is it too cold? We can wear a jacket or whatever it needs. Obviously, if our experience includes safety risk and it requires safety measures, we need to be there first of all, to follow them. Income BY, for example, a helmet or a life jacket or whatever. But in general, I never saw it. If you commenting on the clothes or the appearance of a guide. Obviously, we need to be clean and tidy. But what really matters is our knowledge of the material we are talking about and in the end, our character or how comfortable we are going to make our clients. And as always, thank you for watching. 16. The first client.: Hello. In the previous chapters, we analyzed many theoretical aspects, like what is it about this inexperience, the differences. And if we need a script or not, we learn everything we need about how to prepare for our experience. We talk about where to place our experiences, platforms, the policies, even the appearance. Now it's finally time to welcome our face, value. Everything we lend, not theories anymore. But you can spend literally years learning everything you can imagine, but nothing can prepare you for your first gradient. You will always going to remember your first client. Now, I'm going to provide you with my personal experience. Do you know when they say that if something is going to go bad, is going to go surprisingly band. That was my first client. My very first client was a young lady from Russia. C book then Airbnb experience. I told here where I'm going to meet yet and what I'm going to wear in order to be able to spot me. I arrived at my destination 45 minutes earlier. Because of assumptions, I always go at least half an hour later. But in that case, I went for five minutes and the moment I arrived to my place to where we were agreed to meet, idealized than they were a huge protests happening in the center of Madrid. Protest specifically of taxi drivers against Uber. Obviously I got panic. I sent to the client through the application of the Airbnb. And after a lot of communication, we manage to meet inside the crowd. The two when we had to pass again through their protests and it stopped raining for the next two hours. I've had anxiety about the fact that they have to pass I gained and the finishing point, but it's very close to the protests, the rain. It was my first time that the worst performing an experience on the meat and one client, sorry, I was super anxious. And the result five-stars review and their habits to always check the news before an experience and always having with me an umbrella in my bug. Theories are amazing, but we need to go out there and meet people. And even if everything looks like it's going around, we can only learn from the obstacles. And as always, thank you for watching. 17. The client number 1000.: To be honest, I never realized that I will have a client number one hundred, ten hundred. Whenever it's taking my Google Spreadsheets, I just notice it and instantly I became extremely happy. The people around me told me that if you are satisfied with what you are doing, then you are not going to realize how they tamp passes. In this case, I was so focused on my next experiences and to my next projects that for me, perform Meghan experience was the best part of my day. And in many cases, I had some cancellation and changes are dates. And I only had one client. And usually they asked me why I was performing wire was even bother to perform an experience for only one person. I was always respond the same. And what to do? Sit home. And what's the v? I amount walked in with a new person. I'm learning about new countries, cultures, ideas. I love what I'm doing. If I was going to restart my life, I wouldn't change anything. People are not used to meet other people who love what they're doing with their lives. So I wish you to be one of those people who love what they're doing. And as always, thank you for watching. 18. Reviews.: Hello. Let's talk about the reviews. Vd views are considered there as the mirror of our efforts. So I cannot mention how we perceive them. They are, first of all, we attract new clients. They will be the most important criteria that they are Greeks by going to take as a consideration asked for where our products are going to place the inside the platform at the reviews, we can see if our clients actually liked the tour or if they just put the review their politeness after a couple of time, you will get the ability to detect flows in the reviews and you will be able to correct them. I'm going to give you now some real life examples from my reviews. Thinks like even though that's very long, we totally enjoy it. Too many dates and names. It was not very clear where they're meeting point was, as I said, all those IRA or comments from five-star reviews. So what I did was to correct them. I tried to reduce the names. I tried to make it even more clear where it's a meeting point. And in some cases I've tried to reduce the duration in all my carrier. Only one of my experiences had the three-star review. Once. In that case, it was based in the lack of communication between me and the client. I do not blame the client. It was just impossible to communicate. I accept it and they never happened to me again at the end of any experience, it is crucial to ask from your clients to write the review and do not forget, that is equally important to respond to them. Here the camps, what I told you about my rule above the eight people here comes in handy. This mod groups, as you will know them better in your response, you can be even more personally because I'm going to repeat it Congress of time. This is what are we doing? We become more personal because, but we are trying to offer is an experience. The service. Thank you for watching. 19. What we can do to support our tours.: What can we do to support our experiences that totally depend on our budget and what we want to achieve. Seriously, I know necessarily if you achieve what we are discussing, call this time and you elevate your products into an experience, then you already have a trip 19, 90% of your goal. When you add save a normal flow of clients, you can start thinking about some rewards, some gifts. I used to offer a printed recommendation list. Now I offer it to our code that is more ecological. Some people still prefer to have a tangible print it recommendation list with the places that they live in Madrid. Also, I offer magnet then severe opener, some discounts if the book and other experience, if I have time, I take the adults to try that. Additionally care of Madrid that is allocated made of marriage and it's called Macro. Now, as I said, in some cases, if they have children with them, I offer them a handmade lollipop. Furthermore, as I also mentioned, when I have retaining customers, I offer them the additional head domain suites and I'm trying to pay attention what they are. I mentioned during the experience in order to get it to them, obviously in logical 11th, last but not least, when I have the time. I also trying to get a little bit more with the social media by typing clients make posts, but this is not happening. Video of entropy understand you don't always have time. You will be able to decode your appliance after a couple of times. It's impossible to start from the beginning by offering things. Just wait, a couple of clients wait, let's say my suggestion, a handheld of clients, and then you will decode them. You will see you will manage to categorize usually what your clients asked from you. If you're in an area where you have a very famous painting, like for example, if you are in Oslo, you can offer them a small card with these famous paint in this case is the scream. In some other cases, if your area is very, very hard, in the end, you can offer them a handmade refreshment. If you're already has a very famous drink in the end, you can offer them some sort of the string or some sweet or a desert or something. It totally depends in your area. Try. What is important is to make an experience, to elevate something between expedience. This is 19, 90% after we additive that, we see that all the other things I mentioned in this chapter, the one-percent things that they are there to add the last details, but they're not the most important one simple table to start with the syndrome mind, don't waste money, effort and time in try to figure out what you should give in the end, your clients as a gift, try to have, a couple of clients tried to have Medical Foundation, a 100 if you want, if you are better than me to detecting items, then you can do it in 50. But this is my recommendation. This is my advice. Try to have at least minimum 50 clients and then you're going to see what they want. And as always, thank you for watching. 20. How we are not going to get bored?: If you have this question, then rethink if you wanted to do a tool or an experience. I cannot wait to do another experience. Sometimes I have to do four per day, more than 12 hours, but not because someone the first meal because I need the money, but because I want to talk so many people that they do the same job and held telling me that boredom is their biggest problem. But as I explained before, is impossible to get bored by doing an experience. If you're getting bored, then you do something grown. We said and we explained that every experience has to be different. And even if it's not different, readopted according to the needs of the clients. If we do something fixed, for example. But then you don't repeat yourself. 12 to your clients and ask them their hobbies about the families. If it's the first time in the place you are operating, if they had the tool before, they had another experience before, either had one before then do not repeat the same and try to adjust for me when people ask me if I'm getting bored doing the same thing every day. First of all, I'm not doing the same thing every day, but it's also like someone asked me if I get birth to meet new people. Obviously not. I understand that this mentality is not for everyone. But I'm afraid that if you are not willing 100% to engage, then yes, you are going inevitable to get both. That's why here we are trying to gather, analyze how we can create experiences, how we can became memorable. Honestly. Trust me too, that every time you see a good review when someone says This guy was so unique or different from the other tools, this was different from the other experiences. You are going to get so much confidence that you are not going to get bored. As I said before, if you get burned, you do something wrong. And that's always thank you for watching. 21. How we prevent something to go wrong during the tour/experience.: Hello. If you remember what I told you about my first client. You also remember what I told you about the acute protests that happened at our meeting point. Always we need to take the news in order to minimize and what the incidence now are numb better one and thought that the mandatory in my opinion and from my experience, way to protect our client, ourself and the environment in many cases is to have an student. I know that it's a big cost. It cost me almost 2 thousand Euros per year. I know that you would here and you will meet many people who perform hundreds of tours and experiences. They don't have insurance, but you should have, if I can give you one advice is to get an insurance even if it's mandatory or not. Now. Furthermore, it is always very important to always have someone available on their phone. So if you need someone to be able to contact him, obviously, it's very useful also for you to know the right phones, for example, the Medici phones. So you don't have to depend on another person, but the combination is perfect if you have some analysis and also you, because if somebody happens and you cannot set in your phone, you just call another person to do the work for you. Furthermore, it is very essential to carry some essentials like sun cream, umbrellas, water, all those things that I mentioned above, the insurance to have someone in their phone, to know their farms to carry some essentials. Our biggest weapons, if something goes wrong. And let me give you an advice. We need sometimes to say no to the clients if they request something that is going to be dangerous for us or for them. Now I'm going to tell you some examples of experiences that when drunk, some of my clients was suitcases and they demanded for me to find a place to store these cases. And they explained to them and I said No, that because there are also other people with me. There were a couple of two people waiting. I cannot do that. I know that I said we have to personalize things. But in logic and levels, we're not going to do some things that doesn't make any sense. To delay more than 45 minutes are experienced in order to store some suitcases. Another example is the Monday. On a private experience, a couple of two friends arrive. One of them was very drunk. Obviously, I don't need to mention that this never happened. I returned them, they're my name, everything find the virtue but disappointed, even angry. And my two worst experience that I had to stop pick pockets from opening the bugs of my clients. Don't need to mention how careful you need to be. Those are some of the incidence I'd face. But in general, in 99% of the cases, everything went perfectly well. I hope never to update this chapter, but if something new happen to me, I'm going to let you know. I'm going to repost new video here. The service. Thank you for voting. 22. Marketing.: Hello and welcome to the Marketing chapter. For some reason, everyone is obsessed with marketing and met people who started their business. And they were telling me about marketing campaigns and marketing budgets and many, many things with the word marketing the front. And the weirdest thing is that they didn't even have some maths, more mandatory things like insurance for the client's marketing. Don't misunderstand me. It's super important. But when you have both legs on the ground and you know your position in the market. Here is a trap. If you don't have a product that is warfarin in a super highly competitive vitamin somebody reviews in the beginning can be catastrophic from my personal experience, but without being a marketing next bit, I will suggest you to first try to elevate your products, to learn your subject extremely well. Try to get some good reviews. In the previous job that we said. That for me the magic number is 100. Maybe for someone who started is 50. After you're done, perform your expedience 50 times are your 250 times or 50 clients or you had 50 reviews, then you have a very good idea of how you can start advertising your product. You can do it through social media with paid advertisements in the online search engines like Google ads. And you can create a tangible marketing materials like liberates and brochures. But again, police have in your mind that your meter, as we sent in the chapter of reviews, is your reviews. So even if you create marketing campaigns in Instagram, Facebook and promotional videos on YouTube and TikTok. Do not forget to have a link where your clients can write or read your reviews. Furthermore, as we said in another chapter about the platforms, if you are working with or task the online travel agencies, then they are going to do the promotion for you. The better that reviews, the more they're going to appear in the suggestions. Better reviews, better places in the pages, and more promotion. And free. As I said in the beginning of the chapter, that everyone is getting super excited about the marketing. And sometimes that creates a danger of over marketing yourself and your company and losing their limit of uniqueness. Do not forget that you want to offer an experience to your clients, something unique to them. If you appear with executive of a company with a gigantic military London, unique tools by Harry, that is a random example of a fictional company. Then I don't know how much uniqueness you can offer to them. But again, it depends on what kind of clients you would like to have. If I can suggest you something, is that try to be these unique tab and that everything was so tasty and the people were so polite that every time you record in your memory when something says they were tasty than this gigantic, faceless fast-food company that you can find everywhere. Try to be the synonym of uniqueness. As we said, we're trying to create experiences. And experiences are related with memories. When people are going to think of our destination, they're going to think of us. The service. Thank you for watching. 23. Collaborations. : Hello and welcome to the collaboration chapter. If you've decided to invest a lot of time and effort. And you see finally a nice number of reviews projecting all the hard work. Then one day you are going to receive an email or a message that is going to be about collaboration with someone else or someone else collaborate with you. I'm going to explain that that message will come probably in the beginning from another similar experience performance. You are a small company and later from bigger experience providers and bigger two companies. By the time you are performing, you would realize that many times you would want the y, you're not collaborating with someone else. Usually performers or companies in the early stages prefer not to collaborate with others because they're afraid that they don't have enough good reviews to counter if something went wrong. For example, if I pass my tools to someone else or someone who's passed the tours to me and they got bad reviews. And I only have five reviews is going to be catastrophic. Furthermore, it's always risky to pass your clients through someone else in order to win on the sand percentages. But the same thing happen to you. Someone else can pass his clients to you in to reason. When we collaborate with someone, we tend to always think that someone is stealing our clients, but in the same time we can totally benefit, we can build the ones who receive the extra clients. In all the previous chapters, we are talking of how important it is to be unique and to perform experiences and have small groups. This is the rule. We never canceled this rule. Usually, when I see collaborations in our field is when a company has so many clients that they cannot serve, they keep accepting bookings. We should never do that. Those companies keep accepting bookings. They outsource the clients into other people. This is very bad for them, but it can be very profitable for us if they start trusting gas. But also it can be disaster because many people are not prepared to handle extra clients. I'm gonna give you a personal example of something happened to me. Once experienced provider asked me if I can perform a private experience, he sent me the budget. I accepted it because I had availability. But he never told me that this family was a family of faith in people. After my first soap, I had to perform the experience to the usual label of my standards. I took to everyone and make my quizzes. I answered all the questions. I still was trying to do this as an experience. In the end, everyone loved so much my experience that they gave me a massive tip because they believed that they pay much less than the experience mass worth it. But it took me almost five hours instead of two that was planned. As you can guess, it would have been a total disaster if I had another experience later. Fortunately, I didn't. But imagine, if you accept to collaborate with someone, please try to keep your standards and the character of your experience. What I will suggest to you is to collaborate with passionate people who perform a maximum of 23 experiences. Hopefully, you will try as hard as you to get good reviews. And there would be a great opportunity for you to learn new things to expand the horizons. Another form of collaboration that may be possible in the beginning is collaboration. Websites, accommodations, or even restaurants and bars. Least can happen with a direct promotion or by simply having leaflets with your experience, it depends on the size of the place. Actually, in December of 2021, I was in a tiny bit, Let's increase among them his village and everyone was promoting. The only Lady of the village was the limiting experiences from the newspapers to the only Taxi of the village. Everyone have a leaflet of a lady because everyone was super proud that finally Sandler was promoting experiences to that place in the big cities. Honestly, it's barbaric as everyone is trying to get the spot. I know tourist companies who are actually losing money just to have leaflets in the reception of specific hotels, just because it's going to create a good impression about them. For example, if you're nice, if your target is to have laxity private shopping experiences where you take your clients on a tour in the city. And at the same time you showed them all the ten days new shops and the tocar of the town, then it's important for you to have your leaflet or carve into the reception of Lexie recommendations. Some of those recommendations, I'm going to ask you such a high commission that in the end you're going to pay more than what you are going to earn, but isn't going to be super important for the image that you want to promote. Last but not least about the collaboration's, please, please, please make sure that you own the rights of the script of your experiences. Please ask a professional in the area that you are performing about the rights. You need to own your rights. The more people who are allowed to have access to how you perform an experience, then the more chances someone to borrow your experience. Only if you own the right of your experience can somehow security. But it's very complicated because if you are experienced, if taken place in the public, like 99.9% of the experience are taking place in the public. Then the very complicated to shake good that you own the experience. But you should ask a professional near area, if your experience is good, then eventually someone is going to try to copy you. And that the moment, that very moment you will know that you achieved something great and take it as ecospace that when people start copying you, it means that they admire you. But as we said above, the more unique your experience, the more difficult it is for someone to copy you. And as always, thank you for watching. 24. Competition. : Hello and welcome to the competition chapter. There are extremely few cases where people can create any enterpreneur activity and not face some form of competition. Obviously, there are some extreme cases of monopolies are places that they're so small that literally can only host one business. But in the vast majority of the cases, everyone is going to face some form of competition. Competition in many cases is considered something negative, but the reality competition can actually help us. First of all, our competitors are creating the framework of quality standards, the price range, and the size of a company. Let me explain. When we are new into an area and we want to start any kind of activity or business. The first thing we are taking is the prices of the people or companies who are operating in the same field. In order for us to calculate our price strategy. Something that you need to always have in your mind is that your competitors, fortunately or unfortunately, they are going to indicate the quality standards if they are there before us. This is a very common phenomenon in the tourism industry, but we can see it in many other cases. A very typical example is the fast-food restaurants. Usually they are located very close to its other. And the high-end restaurants, they're also located all of them very close to each other in a very different location. So if the other people who are operating in the same area with us have a very old established companies and they have done very big investments to their companies, then they are passing the responsibility to you to follow the same living. For example, in an island that is considered a very popular diving this dimension and it has many expedience people performing, they're having experiences is going to be very, very difficult and very costly for you as a new entry to establish a presence or even a company that is going to reach their standards. In the opposite case, they may downgrade your attempts to create something quite an expensive. Let's say that you want to offer a very luxurious food experience that is going to cause, for example, more than €500. And everyone else in the same area that you are offering this experience are offering a street food experience of thirty-five euros is going to be a very big challenge for you to manage the differentiate from all the others. Obviously, I'm not telling you that we always have to follow what everyone else is doing. As we said many, many times, that we need to be unique. And every experience is one of the kind. But it is always advisable to take the environment of where you are going to invest your time and your efforts. But again, obviously, if known was trying to do something new, then everyone will have stagnated. Be brave, me unique hand as always, thank you for watching. 25. How much time it is going to take until you will be able to say''I did it'': How much time is going to take for you until you will be able to say, I did it. My goal was to be able to be financially sustainable only by performing experiences into months in a year. I failed to be honest. I had to deliver lectures and also do some other works. And I had to work seven days a week for more than 12 continuously demands. In my case, if I say a little bit more, I have to work between 1416 months and then I was able to go for holidays. And then I said I finally did it. I achieved a financial stability and I was doing I'm still I'm doing what I love. So it depends on what you consider as an achievement. I met a person whose highest goal was to open a tiny agency. But for some reason he wanted to have a physical appearance, he wanted to have the physical soap, a physical place, and to start his tour from there. His dream was the wake up, go open his soap on CPS claims there from the start, everything. It took him three years. He finally I'd save it. But their end that he was paying whilst his biggest expense. So he delayed a couple of years. I mentioned above that they had participated in a treasured experience in Athens, in Greece, where you will be able to solve the riddle. You will receive a garden ground, plastic, but it was very good quality of olive leaves. The lady who was the creator of this experience in a couple of months was happier than she ever been. And secret here, super highly profitable job, not so high profile job that it was to rent private yachts and systems performing experience and it became her permanent job. And as I told you, CB or show happy and systole is because we still communicate. Yes. There are countless examples, good and bad, but most of them goods, but all of them, they are doable. If you decide to offer an experience, then it's totally up to you to put your limits. You start with something small and always put new goals. Say, I want to read a 100 clients. When you read your a 100 clients, put a new goal and say Now I want to read a 1000 clients. When you achieve this goal, try to put a new limit and say I want to read 100 five-star reviews. So always try to involve an always it will enjoy what are you doing and you will make it. I promise you. That's always. Thank you for watching. 26. Mistakes that everyone will do.: Hello. In this chapter we are going to talk about the mistakes that everyone is going to do. And I wish I had someone to inform me before I start with myself as an inspiration. Here I'm going to present you some of the mistakes that I noticed that many people tend to make, especially in the beginning. I could not control my excitement in the very beginning. Std, remember those days? I was doing way too many experiences per day, was performing three to four easily. Thankfully, nothing happened, but I cannot describe my stress when I had like a half an hour break between the experiences and that was running like crazy to cuts. The next one to be my spot. Give us super, super stressful manner of my mistakes. It sounds very ridiculous, but it happened to me many times is that I didn't have an extra t-shirt in the beginning with me or an extra trouser. Sometimes I got dirty, usually from pose of dogs because I cannot control myself and I always That's dogs. I have to deliver or the experience by wearing a jacket to cover the debt and it was too hot. Another one that happened to me many times is please avoid food that you know, that you have in sensitivity before you perform an experience? Haven't been more than ten times that I was desperately need to go to a toilet. I apologize for the clients. I bought them some coffee and tea anti went into place so I could use the toilet if you remember when I told you, but we need to know. I knew fortunately all the places that I had access to clean toilets, but obviously, it's not best to have your client waiting for you outside. Also, I talked about this in the pricing chapter, but I want to talk also hear about that In the beginning, I was very afraid to value my work. I wasn't asking the among the lowest consider that my experience was worst thing. In the beginning, was hoping to get some reviews or was asking much less money. Also in the beginning, I was afraid to do collaboration because I was worried that someone who's going to try to copy my experiences. And indeed, some people copied many of my experiences without even trying to hide it. In some cases they use the same promotion or for the life me. I got very angry. That was my main state. Because as I also told you in the previous chapters, I realized that actually it's an honor for me that someone was trying to copy me. Another one that I see very, very often to be honest, I'm the best example. I am very open to changes. I put so much effort into creating an experience. They considered that this pet factor one, usually I'm not very open. Since I mentioned in the very beginning that we have to perform it to locals in order to share my opinions. But you should do that in more of not doing in steel. But I should do it. I recognize that we all going to make mistakes. Those are just a few that I mentioned. I did maths mode. Some of them buy servers are financially related. I spent too much money to create the web, but later I learned how to do are distinct, so my own, but then they have a lot of times, you can say I saved some time, but in the end I have to recognize that I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't be able to find a job as a lecturer. I wouldn't be here to create this course for you if I haven't done all these mistakes, because in the end I became more wise. Handle service. Thank you for watching. 27. My final thoughts.: Hello and welcome to the final chapter. Many can perform it. But if you can provide experiences, literally, I have participated as a client in dozens of tours and seriously and don't remember anything. But I remember all the tourism experiences I participating. In the end, it is up to you. If you want a job that will offer you the opportunity to meet humans from all around the planet, to work out in the street, to give the opportunity to make your favorite hobby in a daily job, then to invest your time into the creation of experiences, it is a good idea. At the same time, I have to warn you that you will have to work during the period where everyone else is having vacations. Sometimes you will have to work for only one person and in other cases you will have four experiences per day. You will disagree with your clients and you will face difficulties. But in the end, when you put all the advantages and disadvantages in a scale, then I will definitely commend you to do it. If I could go back in the past, I will definitely have done everything exactly the same step-by-step. It is a very well-paid job. No. No. Is it a very easy to know? Is it a job that hides many difficulties? Yes. But is it the most rewarding job also? Yes. Is the feeling of having a five-star review amazing? Yes, it is. Is it a job that they will make your way say, yes, it is something that many people do not realize is that when you create an experience from someone else simultaneously, you create an experience for you. Every day you meet people from all around the world and you connect with them for a couple of hours and you save things. You've said ideas, views, and trust me, there are very few humans who can claim that they can do the same in a daily basis. I wish you the best and I hope you liked my lecture. And as always, thank you for watching.
