1. Introduction: Dislike a mathematics, the more you practice, the more your creativity will increase. High, I've got multi-core visual artist, NFT artist, and an art instructor. I have been in this field from past ten years. Before coming to this field, I was working in an acute renal department. I always wanted to become an artist, so I quit my job and dedicated my life to art and creativity. I have conducted more than 30 art exhibitions, workshops, and have been featured in many magazines and newspaper. I'm specialized in doing mixed medium, especially using charcoal, acrylic, and mixing them with a gold foil. And I also have worked by burning the paper using salt to give the antique look. In this course, you will learn how to use gold leaf with the mediums like charcoal. I will also be showcasing my style of artwork. I would recommend to watch basic drawing videos on Skillshare for better understanding. Here you can go to the Search option and you can find amazing drawing videos. In my class. We will be taking all these mediums to the another level. I will also be explaining how to preserve these artworks and what type of paper can be used for the better results. Come and join me in this amazing journey of imaginations. Thank you. 2. Tools To Be Used: Let's start with the tools that need to be used. So here I have a pencil eraser and the image of the drawing that I have to make on the hot press paper. Along with that, I have gold leaf. This is the particular company's leave that I use. So it's a good-quality and you can see it also have a good texture. This is how these leaves looks like. They're very thin and need to be handled carefully. I have gotten to merge the charcoal. Then there is a compressed charcoal stick which will be used in the form of powder, brown charcoal powder for the background. Then papers, terms or your birds can use either of it. Charcoal pencil for merging small detail areas. Ie pencil for detailing, pencil eraser for erasing the detail areas. And the gold leaf which I will be using for the class. 3. Let's Draw: Now let's begin with the drawing part. First, I'm making a circle by using compass. This is the hallow. And in front of that, there's a figurative part, which is both up. For the drawing part. I would recommend you can go to skillshare.com and you can see many drawing videos. If you need any help in making the portrait like this. After completing face, lots of time for the folds, I'm trying to capture each and every fall of the clot, so it will be easier for me to do charcoal later on. In the second video, we will be doing chalk. 4. Using Charcoal- Face: In this class, I will be showing how to complete phase by using charcoal. First time working on the hair part. So the tip is that you have to fill dark and light shadows in an alternate lines so that it will give a 3D effect. Now for the face, as it is small, I'm doing the detailing part by using papers terms. Or you can also do with the ear buds. So it's better to use peppers terms for smaller area as it will cover it very smoothly. And along with that, it will be very neat. So now that I've completed the space along with the neck, in the next video, I will be working on debri 5. Using Charcoal- Drapery: In this video, I will be making draperies of the cloth, which is whereby the day praise were made in the drawing video. Now it's easy for me to fill it with the charcoal. So you can see in the image like the depressor very dark in color. So I will be using darker shades of black and white. Here I'm using stamps or you can use you can use your Burt's charcoal pencil, charcoal stick, an eraser to make the folds. The process is quite simple. What I'm doing is I'm starting with the darker shade, then going to the lighter shade. So it is basically from dark to light. You can see when two deputies are meeting at that point, I have used a pencil eraser to erase that part. So it gives the effect of the 3D effect. So let me repeat the process again. So what I've done is for the one-day pre, I have used a darker shade to the lighter one, so it is merging from dark to light. And then again for the another debri, the same process has been repeated from darker to lighter shade, where the lighter shade and the darker shades are meeting. At that point, I have erased that area to give it a 3D effect. So this is how I have made all the deep freeze. So using this technique, now, my Buddha has been completed. All the charcoal part has been done. So I will also fill the hallow with the charcoal. Then the next step is the golden leaf. I will be using golden leaf to make this artwork pop out. 6. Use of Gold Leaf- Part I: In the last video, I have completed the charcoal is made with charcoal. Now it's time for the gold leaf. How to use gold leaf? I'm just showing this. So here I will be using gloss medium to fix the gold leaf. I have taken a small quantity of gloss medium in a container and then I will be applying it with the help of a brush on the area where the gold leaf has to be covered. Right now I'm doing it on the one side so that it will not dry quickly. You can also use fabric call instead of gloss medium, but make sure you mix it with water to dilute it. Now, I'm making the gold leaf and placing it unevenly on the area where gloss medium was pleased. You can see I'm covering that whole area. It doesn't matter if it comes on the phase on any area which is outside that gloss medium, because when we will remove that gold leaf, it will only stick to the area where we have applied gloss medium. I'm repeating this process for the second half of the halo. Now according to the image, I'm placing small pieces of gold leaf on the portray. And also tearing some of the leaf into small pieces and then placing it on the neck and on the debri. The next class, I will be removing the exists of gold leaf and we'll be doing the detailing on it. 7. Use of Gold Leaf- Part II: Now the goal is, has been placed, it's time for removing the excess gold leaf. For this, I'm using brush to remove the excess of it in some areas where the gloss medium was not placed properly in that area, it will be removed. So it's completely fine because that I have done it intentionally. As in that area. I will be filling it with the charcoal later on to give it a sculpture look. Wherever I feel like the gold leaf has to be placed at that area. I'm using gloss medium to fix it. So I'm using chunks of gold leaf to fix that particular area. I'm also using chunks of gold leaf to fill some of the areas in the debri as well as on the face. You can also use favorite color, mixing it with the water for fixing the gold leaf. I prefer to use gloss medium because if excess of gloss medium is there, then it cannot be seen when it dries up and that's the best quality of it. You can see here on eyes. Also, I will be placing the gold leaf. Now we go to the next lesson, but filling up the gaps between the Gordian by using charcoal. 8. Use of Gold Leaf- Part III: Now in this lesson, I will be working on the patches which were left while placing gold leaf with the help of charcoal and stamps, I'm creating shadow inside that particular area which doesn't have gold leaf in it. Then also I'm creating boundaries of Harlow. I'm also adding some shadows on both Javier gold leaf is there. So it will give a 3D effect. The next lesson, I will be using brown charcoal to give the final touches. 9. Preserve The Artwork: In this video, I'm using fixated to fix my art work. And here I'm using boosts raw product, which especially made for peaceful charcoal, pencil artworks. And here first I'm spraying it in a horizontal direction. After that, I will be spraying with the vertical direction. So this is to make sure that none of the area should be left. And you should always make sure that artwork should be placed vertically, not lying on any surface. And also make sure that the painting should be a little bit away from the spray so that the drops off. This should not be spilled on the paper. 10. Introduction To Papers: So now it's time for papers that can be used for gold leaf as well as for charcoal. So first I have ivory sheet, it is 210 GSM. It doesn't have texture, but it is good for gold leaf. Then I have rice paper. Rice paper is very thin, but combining those paper, it become a very thick and good-quality. And I have used rice paper in most of my artworks. Then I have cartridge paper that is 140 GSM. It is good for basic sketching and very good for gold leaf. Other than then I have hot press, cold press and rough paper. So hot press paper, you can use our Fabriano sheet. It is a good quality and it is very good for charcoal as well as for the gold leaf. Apart from that, we have cold press, cold press have good texture on it. And it is very good for watercolors. And apart from that, it is also good for the code. So these are the papers that you can use. And thank you for watching. 11. Final Project: Now it's time for the final video. And congratulations that you have made it here. So now let's recall what we have done. In the first class. I have talked about tools. In the second class. I have worked with the pencil and made the portrayed. In the third class. I have worked with the charcoal and make the face. In fourth class, I have basically made the day pre by using charcoal and the charcoal tools. After that, I have worked with the gold leaf. For gold leaf, I have used gloss medium to fix the gold leaf. Then in the next class I have erased the excess of gold leaf and also play some of the gold leaves where it is being necessary to put in another class. I have worked on the detailing part of the gold leaf by using the charcoal medium. After that, I have fixed the artwork by using fixative so that it will not come out, the charcoal will not come out. And then after that, I have talked about the paper that you can use for gold leaf as well as for the charcoal. Please don't forget to share your project in the project gallery of each class so that I can review it. You can also ask me questions there, and I can definitely give all the answers. And apart from that, I would love if you could review this class, then Buh-bye.
