Let's mix charcoal and gold leaf to produce a sculpture on paper. If charcoal is your favourite medium and you also love using gold leaf, then this class is for you. You'll learn how to blend the two mediums in this lesson.
Kamaldeep Kaur is an expert at charcoal painting. She has experimented with a variety of techniques and particularly enjoys combining charcoal with gold leaf to create a distinctive effect.

My name is Kamaldeep Kaur and I will be your drawing instructor. My journey started with following my childhood passion with much curiosity to deeply drench in the elixir of the phenomenal world of art and creativity. I completed my graduation in Mathematics in 2012 and did masters in Actuarial Science in 2014, then I took the artistic route and did my diploma and Masters's in arts.
Art has always connected me with people through various International and National Art Exhibitions and also by conducting art workshops and working as an art teacher.

Hands-on Class Project
Assignment:
Your class project is to draw a sculpture on paper. You can draw the following image or you can choose any other sculpture to work upon. I will be guiding at every step.
Adding gold leaf to charcoal art enhances the artwork. It gives it a unique and traditional effect.
Most of the material that is used in the class is easily available and it is pocket friendly.Â
Materials:
Recommendation:
- Black charcoal stick
- Daler & Rowney Willow Charcoal Medium (Alternative- Any Willow charcoal medium or a charcoal powder)
- Charcoal pencil
- Paper Stumps for Blending (Alternative- Earbuds and Cotton roll)
- Kneaded Eraser
- Fabriano Artistic Hotpress sheet (Alternative- Any sheet made of 100% cotton, Acid-free, min 140lb)
- Gold Leaf
- Fixative Spray
