1. Welcome: Hello, everyone. And welcome to another ukulele tutorial. Today we're gonna be learning how to play a device from the sound of music. So let's get started in learning the courts. They're all fairly basic chords, so I think you can handle it. Let's go into it.
2. Learning the Chords: Let's learn all of the cords that we need to know in order to play the song. The first court I'm gonna teach you is a G chord. So this court is used in many you clearly songs. It's a fairly simple court. So you're gonna place your second finger on the second fret of the A string third finger, third fret of the e string and first finger second fret of the the C string There's your G court. Next court we're gonna learn is gonna be a d chord. So this one you can bar with your thumb on the G, C and E string. On the second fret of your d I personally play it with my 3rd 2nd and first finger. So my third finger goes on the e string second on the sea, first on the G string. So there's your D chord and later on we're going to D seven court and for that one, you're in a place your fourth finger down on to the third fret of a string. And again, if you're barring here fourth finger there or you can also use a start. It was D and D seven with the added third fret on the A string. Next quarter, we need to know is a c court. That's just 1/3 finger on the third fret of the A string, very simple court, and the next chord that we need to know is gonna be an A minor chord. So that's on the G string. You place your second finger on the second friend on There's your a minor chord, All right, so the next chord that we need to know is going to be in a seven chord For this one, you place your first finger on the first fret of the sea string. Here we are. And then, for the F chord, we're gonna place our second finger on the second fret of the G string. First finger on the first fret of the East ring, and there's the F chord. And next, a C minor chord, which is a bar on the C E and a string on the third fret. So there's your seem minor on. Then, through the G string is open again. You can also you don't have to bar. If you do not prefer Teoh, you can put your third finger on the third fret on a string second finger on the east during first finger on this e string and there's a C minor court. So the last chord that you guys did to know is going to be an e minor chord for this court To place your first finger on the second front of the A string second finger on the third fret of the east ring, third finger on the fourth fret of the sea string and then leave the G string open. And there is your e minor chord. Um, that is all of the cords we need to know. So I will next teach you these drum pattern and then we will go slowly over the peace with the strong pattern and the cords. Well, I'll walk you through that.
3. Learning the Strum Pattern: The strong pattern for this piece is in 34 time, which means it's a waltz. So, like 123123 So you can do a very basic. I'm just holding a C court right now. If you want to practice with me. So 1 to 1. If you wanted to do something a little more complicated, I'm going down, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down, up! So that's just throwing in a couple of up on the off beats in between the base. Very simple. Strong pattern. You guys will get it. Let's just hold a G chord and just just the downbeat. So 12312121 I'm gonna add in some of the ups, and if you want, you can try that as well. Okay. 123123 There we are. Next, let's throw together the cords and the strong pattern, and we'll get closer and closer to having the whole song together.
4. First Section: that. You know this drum pattern and the corns. Let's put them together and play the first couple of lines. So we're missing. The 1st 4 lines together starts under G chord I was Call him out As we go. I will play two measures of, um this drum pattern. So 123 Teoh G g g e minor A minor de seven g g g de seven. So for all of those cords, you just go through the strong pattern once. So just 123 Switch to 3123123 And then for the very last G chord on Meet me, you're going to just play through it twice. So, yeah, look happy, Teoh. And then in the next video ality to the next section the song For now, let's go through it one more time. Together I'll go a little bit slower. Just play along with me So 12322! Three G de See g e minor a minor de seven de I see g de seven energy. There we are next, subtlety to the following part of the song
5. Second Section: All right. So for the next part, the song we're going to start on a D on this is the blossom of snow May you bloom and grow section So I'm gonna play through Call him out each, um, core just gets one time through this room pattern. So I'll just play to mention of D and count you in. So 1232 de de seven g I see a seven de seven g. Yes, see, c minor g de seven. So for that part, every chord, just go see once the jump pattern, except for the very last year and for the G on bloom and grow so so twice doing the g there . Otherwise, everything else is just one time for this drum pattern. And next, let's put it together very slowly with the words and you can sing along with me or just practice with ukulele and hearing the words. And then eventually, I'm sure you will. Well, you'll be able to sing along with the ukulele part
6. Simple Strum Play Through : all right. Now that you know all of the courts strong pattern we've played through it calling out the chords I'm gonna play through song very slowly and sing along Play with me until you get comfortable and then try to sing along with me It's kind of difficult toe change the cords and due the storm part at the same time. But practice you will get there. So I will play two members of G and then we start. There you go. Next, I'm going to sing through it with the more complicated strum pattern a little bit quicker.
7. Full Play Through: Here's the play through for a device with the more complicated strum pattern and at tempo. So listen to this. Play along with me, sing along with me, get used to it and you'll get to where I am, where you're able to play and sing at the same time way . - And there you have it. There is a device. I hope you enjoy this class. I hope that you learn this song and enjoy playing it and have a really good time with your instrument. It takes practice. It takes time. But it's such a joy to be able to play and sing and play for others. And I hope you guys have a wonderful day.
