1. Introduction: Hello everybody. Welcome back to a ukulele class. Today we're going to be learning dream, a little dream of me. This is a little bit more advanced to the class. I would not say it's super advanced. So beginner to intermediate, I would say. I hope that you enjoy. I will be referencing a document that I will include in the project files that has the words and the courts on it. So if you want to follow along a little bit better, go ahead and open that up on another tab or printed off whichever suits you. And let's get right into it.
2. Strum Pattern: Let's begin learning these drum pattern for this song. Let's go ahead and just play it on a C, which is out to you. My third finger on the third fret of the a string. So there's our C chord. This strong pattern is going to be, let's just play it one time through just so you can hear it. So it's so your hand is going to be going down, down, up, down, down, up, down, up, down, up, up, down, up. Let's play that a little bit slower. So our tempo is going to be 12. Ready? Play down, down, down, down, down, up, down, up, up, down, up. Last time. So there is our strum pattern for the entire song. There might be some slight changes, but when we learned the chords with this drum pattern, we will get to those later on. Let's go ahead and jump into learning the chords.
3. Chords: Let's go ahead and learn the courts that go along with the storm patterns. So for each chord, we're just going to play it through the strong pattern once. Each time I teach it to you. The cords switch multiple times throughout the strum pattern, but just to practice the strong pattern will stay on one chord. Make sure you learn these chords well enough that when I say the name of a chord, that you are able to know where it is and can switch to it pretty quickly, because that will be necessary when we're learning the song. So let's first take it slow and just learn the placement of all the chords. I recommend pausing the video after each chord or after each two chords, switching between them a couple times just so you get the memory in your fingers of where the cords go. First, let's learn a C chord, which is what we used for the storm patterns. So you should already know it. In case you forgot. Third finger on the third fret of the a string. All the other strings are open, so, so there's a strong pattern. Let's go tempo 1, 2, ready, play? The next chord? I'm gonna move a little bit closer here. The next chord is going to be a B7 chord. So for this court, you're going to place your first finger on the second fret of the E string. Your second finger on the third fret of the C string, and your third finger on the fourth fret of the G string. So that should be how the B7 chord sounds. So let's so from C to B7. And let's play that through this drum pattern. So one, Two, ready play. Now let's learn the F chord. So the F chord is going to be first finger on the first fret of the E string. Second finger on the second fret of the G string. That is the F chord. So through this drum pattern, 12, ready play. And there's our F chord. Now from the F to the G7, you're going to pick up your second finger. You're going to move it to the C string. So second finger, second fret, the C string. You're gonna keep your first finger on the first fret of the E string. And you're going to place your third finger on the second fret of the a string. So from the F and the G7, playing this drum pattern, 12, ready? And there's our G7. So let's go through and play each chord once the strum pattern switching from C to B7 to F to G seven, just to get those chords and your fingers a bit better. So on the C, we're going to start. One, two, ready see, B7, F, G7. Those are the first four ports that you're going to denote. Let's learn a, another chord that you will need. It is the A7 chord. So for this chord, It's fairly simple. You're going to place your first finger on the first fret of the E string. And there's our A7 chord. The next chord you will need to know for the first first is going to be an F minor chord. So for this one, I typically play it by placing my fourth finger on the third fret of the a string. My second finger on the second fret of the E string. And my, sorry, my second finger on the first fret of the E string and my first finger on the first fret of the G string. So fourth finger, third fret a string, second finger, first fret, E string, first finger, first fact, G string. So the C is open. And that is our F minor chord. So now we know C, B7, G7, A7, and F minor. We are also going to need an a chord. So this a court you're going to place. It's similar to the A7, where your first finger is on the first fret of the C string. But then you're gonna put your second finger on the second fret of the G string. So with a strong pattern, one to read, you put the next chord is an F sharp minor chord. This court, you hold that a down and you place your third finger on the second fret of the E string. So with the strong pattern 12, ready? And then the next chord is an E7. So I typically play this by placing my third finger on the second fret of the a string. My second finger on the second fret of the C string. So you're leaving that Eastern open. And then your first finger is going to be on the first fret of the G string. And with the strong pattern 12, ready put. The last core we will need is going to be a G-sharp chord. This one is slightly difficult if you have smaller hands like me, but I can play it. So hopefully you can as well. For this one, I like to put my third finger on the third fret of the a string. My fourth finger on the fourth fret of the of the Eastern. My third finger or my second finger. I apologize. My second finger on the third fret of the E string, and then my first finger on the first fret of the G string. So I'm just gonna go through that one more time. Third finger, third fret, a string. Fourth finger, fourth fret, E string. Second finger, third fret of the C string. First finger, first fret, G string. And that's your G sharp. And he'd only like 2.5th. And you've gotta be able to switch from the G-sharp to the G7 pretty quickly. So, to switch quickly, you're going to slide, pick up your first fourth finger, slide your second, third back, and place your first finger on the first fret of the D string. So let's just practice that really quick. So G-sharp slide, just G7. One more time. G-sharp slide to G7. There we go. So that's really the hardest part of this song. That's the part I struggle with the most. So those are all of the chords that you need to know. Go ahead and watch this video as much as you need to learn all of the chords and get really comfortable with them. And let's go ahead and learn the verses.
4. Intro: Now that we know the strum pattern and the chords, Let's go ahead and learn BY intro to the song. So the courts for the intro are going to be C, B7 and G7. So C, B7, F, G7. Hopefully you remember those courts. Otherwise go back mixture. You can switch between those fairly quickly with the strum pattern. It's going to sound a little bit like this. So 1234. So the C is going to be down, down, up. The B7 is going to be down, down, up. And then the F's going to be down, up, down. And then G7 going to be up, up, down, up. So see B7, F, F, G seven. So let's just do that three times together. 12, ready, See. And there's the intro. So you play it through that two times. And then we get into verse one.
5. Verse: Let's go ahead and learn the verse to dream a little dream of me. So for the first line, we're going to just play through the intro just like we did. So those are for the words, stars shining bright above you. So starting on the C, One, two, ready play. And then night breezes seem to whisper, I love you is going to be a C B7 and then A7. So C B7, just like before. And then instead of f G7, hold the A7. Okay, One, two, ready is play A7. Let's do those two lines back to back. So C, B7, F G7, C B7, A7. So starting on the sea, on to read the play, C, B7, B7. And then we're gonna go to birds singing in the sycamore tree. So half of that line is f, half of that line is F minor, so it's going to be F. And then F minor. So the strum pattern is effort down, down, up, down, down, up, and then F minor four, down, up, down, up, up, down, up. And then the last line, dream, a little dream of me is going to be C, F, G seven. So, so it's going to be C X G7. Let's go through the entire verse quite slowly, all the way through with all of the courts. So 12, Ready seed. And that is the verse for dream a little dream of me. Let's go ahead. I'm going to sing it this time so you can hear what it sounds like with the words. So let's actually put the intro and then sing the verse. So intro chords, C, B7, F, G, 72 times through. And then we will say, so. One, two, ready, see again, star shining, but it produces suitable to lose. You. Go little dream. And V2 is going to be the exact same as first one, except the last slide we'll go. So for those chords is going to be a, C, G7, C E seven. So one more time. So while I'm alone in blue as can be c, three, G7, truly see the E7. So C, G7, si, esa E7. Let's just put that last line, one to read. You see ceded seven. So C, G7, C7. One more time without me saying the courts One, two, ready C. And then from v2, it goes into the perigee, which we will learn in the next video.
6. Bridge: Now that we know the verse, Let's go ahead and learn the bridge. So we were on the E7 going into the bridge after V2 and it's going to be starts fading, but I linger on deer. Each line of the bridge follows the same chord progression except for the last line. So the chord progression is a, F sharp minor, D, E 7. So starting on the after it minor, let's plot the third finger down. And then D, you can slide the first finger up to the D, or you can play the D how I initially taught you, whichever's fastest for you. So from the F-sharp minor, D, E7. So let's play that through three times. Like we're playing the bridge. I'm going to go slow. I'm not going to say the courts as we go. So just quick reminder, a F-sharp minor, D, E 7. So 1, 2, ready play? 23. And in the last line of the bridge is going to be a F7, G-sharp, G7. So same as before, a, after a minor. And then we're going to do the G-sharp. So let's practice that. The G-sharp to the G7. So let's do that one more time. 12, ready play. So go ahead and practice that a couple of times just to get that switch. That's probably the hardest. From G sharp to G seven transfer of chords in the entire song. So let's go ahead and pull a, the bridge all the way through. So three lines of a F-sharp minor, D, E, 7. And the last line, the fourth line, is a F-sharp minor, G-sharp, G7. So let's go ahead and play together. And I'm going to sing just so you know where we are and how it goes along with the words. So starting on the a 12, ready play stoves day, but I feel the anger on deer. Stay craving your kid. To linger to Don do. Janet said. So as you can see, I struggle a little bit with that core progression. Let's try that just one more time from I'm longing, so to linger till dawn. And then we go right back into the verse. So sweet dreams, so sunbeams find you. So go ahead and practice that bridge a handful of times so that you can nail the G-sharp to the G7. It's very difficult. And then we will go ahead and do a play along through the entire song.
7. Playthrough: This is the Polite through of dream a little dream of me. I will be following the court sheet in the project section of this class, starting with the intro. So I will count a sin and I will be singing along just so you know how it goes with the words. All ready? One, two, ready? Intra. Stars shining, right? Praises seem to whisper. Have you seen this? Marjorie tree bolded Audrey? Say, Kiss me. Jack has told me tired and tell me No, Miss me while I will go on and you guys can be dream a little dream of May and then into the bridge. Okay, So the space on the stack, to tilde on Dan Jones, say, sweet dreams, Wilson, the tri, three dreams, early medieval worries behind your games, whatever they be. Trading little DRI, me, back into the bridge. So this is the node her on due to the angular tilt on the chat. And then the last verse, single-player games also on the inside, if you through dreams, are they evolve reason behind you? The order as well, however, the B today, well, little dream of me. The last line is just CTs f and g. Little dream of me. And that is the entirety of dream, a little dream of me. I hope you enjoyed.
