Greetings Everyone!

This is a short SEO (stands for Search Engine Optimization) tutorial course where we shall be discussing how you can optimize your WordPress websites. Using SEO tools and WordPress plugins, we will work on a page of your site, and go step by step to optimize and increase your overall ranking score.

SEO basically helps to improve the site's visibility in search engines like google, bing, etc. Thus, it's very important to optimize your website. This course will talk about:

1. URL Optimization
2. Writing SEO Title & Meta Descriptions
3. Alt Text for images
4. Header Tags
5. Submitting sitemaps to major search engines such as Google, Bing & Yandex
5. and some SEO Tools & Keywords (more on the resources)

After this course, you should have a broad knowledge of how you can better format your website pages for SEO. You will get a brief idea about keywords, how to find them, and how you can apply them to your website.

1. Introduction - WordPress SEO: Greetings everyone. I am Saujan Pradhan and today I will share some quick tips to improve your site's SEO score. Needless to say, SEO is very important to every website owners because it helps to improve the site's visibility in the relevant searches. However, I have seen most of the website's doing very little to nothing to improve the site's SEO. This could be one of the main reasons why, despite the great content search engines like Google cannot find your website. Thus, with this course, you will understand how you can work to improve the SEO for your website pages. So what will we learn in this course? In this course, we will get a picture of how you can better your website pages in terms of SEO. We will work with the live website and go step by step on improving its page's SEO. We will cover URL optimization, writing, SEO title and meta descriptions, alt text for images, header tags, submitting sitemaps to major search engines such as Google, Bing and Yandex, and some SEO tools and finding keywords. This course is very descriptive. Thus, you will not require any coding skills or technical knowledge. If you have an existing WordPress website or are planning to build one, you can apply all the understanding of this course on the website to improve your SEO score. After this course, you should have a broad knowledge of how you can better format your website pages for SEO. You will get a brief idea about keywords, how to find them, and how you can apply them to your website. So let's get started. 2. Improve SEO score of a WordPress Website's page: Greetings everyone. In this tutorial, we will learn how we can improve the SUS score for WordPress website. For this tutorial, we will be using the site directs and Katmandu.com. This will be our site to improve the SEO. A very little has been done for this website. Let's log into the dashboard, WPS admin, enter your username and password. The first thing I want to check of any site is its URL and permalink structure. So this is a side. Let me go to the news blog bays. So this space, IDs 166, is not a good practice in terms of SEO as it does not make any sense. So all the pieces are formatted in such a way. This is not a good practice at all. Let's try to optimize the URL. In order to improve that, go to your dashboard, go to settings. And permalink. Never used as plain as it gives an ID, which does not make any sense. You can use a post name or customs structure as you prefer. I want to show category and post name. You can keep or delete these trailing slash. There's a debate if it adds value to SEO naught anyway, we'll delete it, scroll down and save changes. Now if I refresh this, here's the category, and here's the base URL link. The URL, however, looks a little longer. The good practice is using sought words, maybe three or four, and using a keyword. In order to choose this URL slug, go to your dashboard, go to post. As this is a pore space. You can directly Quick Edit here. I will write fewer words and assume my keyword is explanation. Please don't use underscore. Instead, use a default or hyphen two separate words and updated. The other option two entities click on the blog, click on edit, and make changes and update. So if I refresh this, we have a better optimized URL for this space. We are competing with the keyword expedition. If I scroll down, it's empty at the bottom. Now anyway, let's go to Plugins, Add New Search, Yost, SEO, install, and activate. Once activated, it's either at the top are here, click on it. Will come to this later. Let's go back to our base and edited. So if I scroll down, I can see your SEO. So here's the Google preview for mobile and x star. This is all random now, actually, it has been taken from the title. This is the default setup. I haven't changed anything. If you want to change this, you can go to use the SEO such periods. If you change it here, it will reflect on respective bases. So you can browse through all the pages and make necessary changes, adding or deleting, what do you think? However, we strongly recommend to do things manually. For a meta descriptions, you can add exert Just in case. If I refresh this space, then you can see it will take exert. This is only for the rough idea how it works. If you have many pages on your site, possibly than this could be a way to add title and meta description. But it's better to manually added as we might want to add keywords and ticks off right characters, et cetera. So let's write it manually. Simply delete this file writer as CEO title. So for now I'm copying the site title and pasting it. But it is shot as indicated by red line. So add more text to it so that it becomes green. Please note, you will need to add a key word here, expedition for example. And also we need to write a focus key phrase for this space. So let me write expedition here. You can also write a long key phrase. Anyway. Now let's write the meta description. This one was taken automatically. I'll copy the first line and paste it. You can write your own custom meta-description. Just make sure you add the keyword expedition here and make it overwrite text. Lend note the red versus green color. Now we have added the SEO title and meta description and also improve the URL. And the other thing to look at is MAs. So all the images need to have a description. For example, this basis using this image, click on it. This image does not have this alt-text. Every other fields are empty so far that you can simply add the sites title with the keyword or copy the SEO title. You can customize the title and as we'll write captions and descriptions, this website is already developed. But if it was a new build or for new post, please use a proper name for images. Don't use a random name, such as EME is one to four or something, or even numbers. As for this amaze, instead use a proper name with the keyword. You can use short names as matching the title. Anyway, said images. Now we have added alt text to images used. Seo also offers SEO analysis. So click on it. It says we have two problems. One, there is no internal links. It's always better to add links to your pages, redirecting to other pieces of the site. For example, it could be related blog links are productive links. As a demonstration how it works, let me add a link to this space. Let me close this. Maybe I can add this space, copy the URL, and write relevant contained, and add the link. I would like to open a new tab simply because I want use it to stay in this space. But again, you can choose anything. So as we added the link, the problem is fixed. The other problem is that text words, the good practice is to use 300 words. I will just copy paste for now to make you understand, you will hover need to write a proper new text. You can see that the problem is gone. Let me just reverse it. So this problem can be solved by writing 300 words. Let's look at the other improvements. Key phrase in the title. The exact match of the focus key phrase appears in the SEO title, but not at the beginning. So what it is trying to say is, here we're focusing on the key word expedition, but the key phrase appears in the SEO title, but close to the end. So it is suggesting us to use a key word at the beginning. And then of course, make some changes so that the sentence makes some sense. So we have resolved that problem to now let's look at good results, outbound links. So this basically means we are referencing or sharing link to other pages. This is definitely a good practice unless you are linking it to a competitor. Here we have said Outside link for this republican internal links, we just added a link to our own basis. Key phrase in the introduction. Yes, we added it at our intro text. We have use it in the title as well. Key Friesland, it's good. Density is good. Don't overdo it. Not more than five times. For example, if we are focusing on Expedition, if I write one more expedition keyword, a nun is a problem as we use it six times. So the good practice is to use keywords four to five times max in a pace. Let me delete this key phrase in the meta-description. So we have added in the description images all attributes. We added the alt text on images. So this happens to be new key phase for the website. Q phrase in the title, we add tested it in their CIO title. And cafes in the slug, which is this one. Or if we go down this one, we have the key word. So this is how you can optimize your base. Everything is good. Exit for wordcount, which is quite low. Anyway, after all the changes simply updated. Now repeat this for all of your website pieces and post. Just a reminder. Now we have added a SU title and meta description. It will not instantly appear here. For example, if I search for direction Katmandu, This is the title and this is the description. This will not change overnight, but we'll take some time, could take up to five days or weeks. But anyway, please do these changes to all pages and posts or fear website focusing on the pace keyword and this will help each contained might have different keyword or key phases. In this readability tab, it directs you how you should write your text. Like use simple words, lives passive texts, smaller to the point sentences, and more transition words, meaning linking words for ideas and phrases. Anyway, one more thing about adding links. They are basically follow and nofollow links follow links basically tell search engines that you value that link. So external follow links will improve other pieces, other rating. For instance, the link here is normal and the default links are followings. However, if I do not want to add value to this link, we can write nofollow at possibly do it if I don't trust this site or if I fear it will have an adverse effect on my website. To add nofollow links, simply go to Text. And right, REL is a call to nofollow, something like this. Doing this, I'm dealing search engines that I may not valid this base. So search engines can decide whether or not to grant additional authority to this space. So that's how you can add follow and nofollow links. And after all the changes, do not forget to click on update. Now practice this to each and every post of your website. Knew this for every single pays and post. Thank you very much. 3. Using H1, H2 and H3 header tags: Now that we have successfully optimize our paces, it's as well very important for our website to use headers like S1, S2, S3, et cetera. While constructing a pace, please make sure you are using all these edges. For instance, if I go to places and homebase, no matter what theme or build a you are using mixture. You use S1, S2, S3, and so on. For example, this heading is using S1. This one is also using H1. So instead of using x one for all, some hitters should be using S2 and sum should be using S3, S4, and so on. So mixture one developed decide you are using all the headers. Simply go to use SEO and go to webmaster tools. So here are some popular search engines we want to submit outside maps will work on each of them, except for re-do. It requires Chinese phone number. Let's start by submitting the site on Google Search Console. Click over here. Let's verify our site. You can upload a file in the root folder, or let's use an easy method of using HTML tags. We need this tag copied and pasted over here. We only need the code. Only this much is required. Unsaved changes. Then click Verify. So the site has been verified. Now let's go to Search Console. It seems like I already had a site earlier. Anyway, click on here and add property. You can verify via domain, but it requires DNS. So let's do it using URL Prefix, copy the URL, and paste it. Continue. We have verified the ownership, Go to the property. So here we are. For data to appear here, it will take some time. So let's submit a sitemap. Click on it. So no sitemap has been discovered. Now go to use SEO. Go to Features. You'll see XML sitemaps. Click here, and you'll see the sitemaps. So they used SEO has prepared a Sitemap For us. We can customize a sitemap and acts what not to crawl. It, however, depends on the search engines, but yet we can remove some links from the sitemap, go back to yours, and go to such console. So you can navigate to each tab and choose what to display and whatnot. For example, I don't want to, so taxonomies, maybe I don't want to. So archives to four RSS simply have postLink and blogging copied here telling that they contain appeared first on your website. Anyway, you can customize the sitemap, the scroll down, and navigate accordingly. As you may not be willing to let search engines crawl every pages. But if you are not sure, then you can keep it as default. Save changes. In my case, there were two outside maps. So the number has changed to six. Anyway. After the changes, simply copy it and paste it in and submit. So we have successfully submitted sitemaps to Google. Thank you very much. 5. Submitting Sitemaps : Yandex: Now after Google Search Console, let's add sitemap to Yandex. Click on the link register. Fill in your details. Except terms. Add this I2 RL is the verification code. Simply copy and paste it, save changes, and then check. So it has been verified. Now go to indexing. And sitemaps. Confirm and add the sitemap. Go to 0. Features. Sitemap, and add it here. Sewage processing, it will take some time. If you click on summary, the data will appear soon. So we have submitted our sitemap to Yandex. Thank you very much. 6. Submitting Sitemaps : Bing : Now let's verify with being Click on the link. Signing will use email and the password. So either you can add website manually. But I like to do with Google search console because it saves lots of time. Impulse, continue. Choose account. Allow. I want to import this side. Simply click on it and import some error. Let me add the URL manually. It's still the space of meter. However, despite the era, it seems that the data has been processed and can take up to 48 hours to reflect anyway, go to the site maps. Thank you very much. 7. Website SEO Score analysis and Keywords: Now that we have worked on our website paces and submitted to search engines, let's find out how we can check our SUS score. Please note we have only worked on one piece of this side. You will have to make changes on all the pages and posts for better score. Let's search over suggest on Google. It's an amazing tool by Neil Patel. Simply click here and click on Tools and SEO analyzer. Paste your website URL and analyze. This will take some time to crawl. So you can see the Peace Corps organic shirts and backlinks. Here are the issues we need to fix. On free versions. There are some limitations, but it's usually helpful. If I scroll down, you can see the website speed on the stub, which is good to second, for mobile, it's not great. So improving pays speed is also very important for SEO. In fact, formal value can also take Google mobile friendly test and run the test here. The site is mobile friendly. However, there are some issues. There. Issues are related with Analytics, code and Adsense. This might be an adolescent. Anyway, make sure the site is mobile friendly as it's very important. So we need to improve this for Wordpress site, I do recommend to free plugins, ought to optimize and lazy load by WP rocket. Try them if it improves site speed. As site speed is a broad topic. So we'll try bringing it in an adolescent anyway. If you scroll down, it will tell me the top as you issues, I can see all the issues. So these are all the problems on the site. The recommendations looks fine. Please make sure you have SSL certificate on your website for warnings. They are five pieces without at 122 pages without meta-description and two pieces, so space not found. In fact leaky. So these were all URLs and maybe I can redirect them to new pays all landing page. So go to the dashboard, add new search, redirection, plugin, install it and activate. Scroll down and go to the settings or you can find it at tools. Started up, continuous setup, finish it up. Finished. So you can click on redirects. It automatically tries to work on all redirects. Click on add new. My source URL is this. Paste it. If somebody goes to this link, I will redirect it to home-based the target URL. And redirect. If I click on this link, it redirects to homebase. Likewise, for this URL, do the same. So I believe this issue will be resolved. So five pieces did not have at one headings. It will tell me this basis to not have H1 headings. Simply go to this URL and add H1 headings, as we discussed earlier. That should result. Seven pieces have low wordcount. So this business have more word counts. So go to the links and increase their content. As discussed earlier, used SEO suggests 300 wordcount. So if we add 300 words, this will be result. Also not all seven pages are displayed here as we are using a free version of this tool. Duplicate meta contains. Let me open this two paces. And I did this as well. So what these spaces have same meta descriptions. Let me just add, just add quickly. So these two are different. This would be resolved then. Now long landing page. This is all about bids speed. So look into the respiratory pages and see what is causing the page to load slow. And 22 pages lack meta descriptions. It's because we have not added meta descriptions to all the pieces of this side. So these are the bases, the free version on a displaced five pages, like if I open the space, you can see it says, please provide a meta-description. So you need to add one. So you can add it manually and update. Please do it for all the pages and posts and that era will be result. So we have looked into all the era's. After doing all this, you can recall the website. However, the free versions will only have three searches have a level. So anyway, this is how you can improve the SUS score of your WordPress website. Now, another important thing I want to talk about is keyword analyzer. So this side also offers keyword overview, keyword ideas and content ideas. So you can go to keyword ideas and search for the keyword. For instance, if we wrote a great article, but despite the nice contained, the site is not ranking anywhere in Google. It could be because you might have written the contained on high competitive keywords and key phrases. Meaning that there are already big companies with high pays and dominant authority and backlinks trying to compete with the same keywords. So it will be very difficult for new websites to overtake them for obvious reasons. Surfers starting website, we need to find keywords that are less competitive, normally below 30. By that, what I actually meant is, let's search for a key phrase, website hosting. Choose a relevant topic as per your contained our site, choose the country and search. Now my free churches are over. Anyway. So here are the details. These top words have competition of more than 47. So I would avoid this rather look for the ones that's below that or in that range. If I check the filter, let me have the minimum search volume of 200 per month. As you difficulty, not the paid one, but organic B, max 30 and then apply. So these are the keywords and key phrases we should be looking at. Like topics such as web hosting on AWS has very low competition of 16. Try making a good container on it. There will be high possibility that your business will rank at the top. So this is how you can get keyword ideas, create relevant, contained, and use it on the focus key phrase as CEO title, meta description, imbecile takes, as discussed earlier, the search volumes are over 1500 or around, so this would be a good start. Likewise, do research on your relevant topic. Choose something with less competition. Another free tool to find keywords is word attacker.com. If you ran out of your free trials from here. I have read the daily limit. Anyway, so you can do the same search. It also has some limitation on the free versions. I cannot unlock much. So there's a difference between these two tools. But anyway, the competition is definitely low. Let's try web hosting. For a competition it's automatically below 30. So you can get a bunch of ideas and key phrases for your post with less computation, simply Google to get more free SEO tools and keywords. Find keywords are key phases with less competition, right? A great article on it. Use the keyword properly on URL, SEO title, meta descriptions, images, alt-text, et cetera. And you should search rank on search engines for that particular keyword, improving your online presence. I really hope this lesson was helpful to you. Thank you very much.
