1. Course Intro: Hi, My name is kids liking me, and I am a daily YouTube blogger. Recently, I've been getting a lot of people reaching out to me and asking me questions regarding YouTube. So I decided to make this course based off some of the most common questions that I get asked. But I also wanted to make sure that we don't just take in the information and not do anything with it. So the first half of this course will be me talking about what I've learned through my daily blogging journey. But at the latter, half of this video will move into creating a vlog together from filming toe editing as part of this course project. And it doesn't stop there because I want to make sure that not only do you create your first vlog, but you also continue and keep up the consistency towards the end of this course, I'll be giving you seven extra content ideas to continue YouTube journey after initial project together. You have no idea how excited I am to have you in my class. So without further Dio, let's get started
2. You Have A Voice: who? Wow, you know, for somebody who puts a daily log out, I'm gonna be honest with you. I am a little nervous right now. I have never done this kind of thing before creating a course putting out videos. I know a lot about longing, but it's just the thought of condensing everything that I know about. Logging into courses is a new concept for me, but I always believe that the best way we grow is to step outside of her comfort zone. So here I am. Here you are. Let's get started. The best place to start is to introduce myself. My name is Kit Ski Me and I am a daily YouTube blogger. I've been blogging since January 1st 2027 putting out a video a day since January 1st 2020 . At the time of recording this video, I think I'm 100 and 30 probably close to 100 and 40 videos in. I'm sure that number would have gone up by the time you're seeing this video, but that's where I am currently during my daily blogging journey, I have learned a lot in terms of how out of log y vlogging is so important, just the whole concept of logging in general. I've learned a lot from and a lot of it is things that I wish I knew when I was first starting out, which is one of the reasons why I decided to start this course because I wanted to help people who are starting off on their blogging journey. Hopefully what I learned can potentially help somebody else out there. That would be amazing. So that's why we're here. One of the messages that I want to really push out there for anybody who's hesitating on blogging, your voice isn't for everybody, but somebody out there is waiting to hear your voice. And what that means is in a world where we have seven billion people, there are people out there waiting to connect with somebody like you. Just remember that you're never gonna know who you're gonna impact in a positive way. So keep that in mind next time you get kind of hesitant of putting out the video. When I first started blogging, I mainly did it for me. I had personal goals that I wanted to meet, and I just started uploading videos because it was something I wanted to do to grow myself as well as to have an outlet for creativity. What I didn't expect at the time was that I would eventually go on to attract people in my life who I connect with. Its just been a really awesome experience, something that I wouldn't have ever imagined and an opportunity I would have never had unless I took that first leap and started blogging so crazy for me to even think about. Now that I am a part of, you know, some people's daily routine when you're starting your channel, don't worry about that in the beginning, because when you start your channel, you'll eventually attract those people in your life. But when you're starting your channel, always start for yourself. You are the person that needs to benefit the most out of this. But always remember that by following your journey. There's a lot of people out there that you could potentially be helping as well. That, to me, is the beauty of logging. But enough about that. This is just a quick introduction. I'm really looking forward to having you guys in my class, so if you guys are watching this video right now and you are hesitating on starting your channel or you have started to your channel. But you're having a hard time picking up that mo mentum. Hopefully, this course will help you get through some of those hurdles, so let's get started.
3. The Four Benefits Of Vlogging: So the first thing we're gonna be talking about is the benefits of blogging and why. I think blogging is one of the best content out on YouTube. So I prepared for reasons why I think of logging is amazing, and the number one reason is the ability to build a community unlike any other YouTube mish . I think flogging gives people the ability to connect with you on a more personal level. Unlike you know, top 10 scary videos or do it yourself channels because a lot of time when you're flogging your blogging your day you're blocking your life, allowing people a little glimpse of you in your life and how you live your life. And I think because of the the ability to connect with people on a more emotional level is stronger. So instead of just building regular fans, you're out now building super fans. These are the people that are gonna be invested in when you put out merchandise. When you put out books what whatever it is that you do, people are gonna flock to it because they want to support you as a person. And I think blogging is a fantastic way to build that kind of community and that kind of audience, the more genuine you are in your blog's, the more opportunity you're gonna have to create super fans because of that strong connection, your building because you're building it on such a emotional and personal level. The second thing that I like and one that I didn't even realize was gonna be the case because you're showing a part of yourself, your ideas, your thoughts and your putting that all out there in your blog's. You have the ability to connect with like minded people all around the world. Ever since I started blogging on YouTube, it has given me a platform to meet people that I would have otherwise never have gotten the chance to meet. I've created friendships through this. I've created a community of people that I could reach out to and talk to, and it's It's been a wonderful journey, one that I never even realized would be a possibility. But that is something that I'm super grateful for. In I think is a fantastic reasons why vlogging to me, is so amazing. Third thing is logs air typically easier to make. I think blogging in general from a technical standpoint is easier to produce. I think the amount of difficulty in a log is dependent on how much effort you want to put into it. If you want to do straightforward videos where you just talk in law, that passes as of love or, if you want to, you know, do different camera angles and include B roll and just super Casey Neistat type thing where you make it. You make things more cinematic that also passes of logs. So the I think the beautiful thing about log is that you could really be creative and put as much technical effort into it as you want. Or you could just literally lace your camera on a surface like this and just start, start talking and connecting with people. You don't have to worry too much about what kind of content you're going to put out there because he was blogging. You could literally just vlog about your day. You could talk about what you ate that day. You could make it as interesting or as little effort as you want, but I think from an like a technical aspect, I think it is one of the most easiest contents to really get into. The fourth benefit to blogging for me is that I feel that of Logging Channel is almost future proof. We hear me out on this. There are a lot of different YouTube issues out there that follow a trend. You know, the do it yourself trend, the makeup trend like the muck bang trim there, so many trends out there. People hop on and they find immense amount of success. But once that trend dies out there, Channel also tends to die out a loop. Really good example is do it yourself channels were really big thing back in the day. There is a lot of do it yourself channels that made a lot of money. But now that the do it yourself trend has died out, there's a lot of do it yourself channels out there that have struggling channels that don't have much success is they used to. But as of Logar, you're showcasing your own personal life, your own personal journey, and that is constantly changing. You constantly grow and changes a person, and the logs will tend to evolve as you evolve as a person. It's a great way to keep consistent fresh content that gives room for flexibility because people are following your life journey instead of a temporary trend. So those are the top four biggest benefits that I've noticed since having started blogging .
4. The Downside of Vlogging: in this video, I'm gonna be talking about the downsides of blogging. Obviously, I have to be fair. Not everything is roses and rainbows and unicorns. There is definitely constant flogging, and the number one thing I think people are going to struggle with when they're blogging is that it is a very slow growth. It's a slow and steady wins, the race kind of niche, because blogging is more about a person's personal life and personal journey. Instead of topics that appease YouTube, analytics or algorithms, I think it's going to take time for people to find you to connect with you. Teoh want to be a part of your journey. A lot of loggers that I even watch it took a few videos for me to get into them. It's almost like getting into a TV show halfway through. Instead of following somebody from the beginning, when you kind of drop yourself into the middle of ah TV program, you still don't really know what's going on. You don't really know what the characters are, but once you start watching a few episodes and you're like, Oh OK, now you start to understand the personal little better you start to understand what their life is about. You start to see the character development. That's when you get hooked on people's channels. And that's what it's been like for me when I got into bloggers. It's never the first video that grabs my attention. You have to think about it in terms of being somebody's friend like you. Don't just pop into somebody's life and then you're automatically their friend know it takes time. People have to get to know you. I think because of that it's a very slow process to grow, even though it is kind of slow start because you're not really appeasing the algorithms or the analytics. You're not a part of a huge trend. You're not talking about, mainly topics that people are searching for you and you're talking about you your life. Personally, it takes a moment for people to get attached to that. But once they get attached to that and it, once they are on that journey with you, you're gonna have a lot more dedicated fans than people who are just following a trend. You kind of have to weigh that as an option as a pro and a con okay? Yes, it's gonna be slow. In the beginning, it's gonna take some time for you to gain that mo mentum. But once you do, the fan base you create is going to be much stronger. For me, it was hard definitely in the beginning, because, you know, when you start your YouTube channel and you put that much effort into something, you want people to see your videos and you want people to subscribe and like and common and engage. But it does take time. For some people, that was the slow start is going to be a con, so just keep that in life.
5. Mindset: today's video. I want to talk about mindset, I believe, 100% that anything in life you want to be successful at your mindset is probably the number one key to success, mindset and action. I think skill how while you film what kind of equipment you have, all that kind of stuff is secondary to success and the number one cause of success is your mind set in action. I have a lot of friends who are filmmakers and photographers and are phenomenal, like 1000 times better than what I do. They have more expensive equipment. They have better cameras, they have better camera skills. They have better editing skills, much more than me, and a lot of them want to be YouTubers and want to be vloggers. But out of all those friends that I have that are really skilled, which were skilled, that I am, I am the actual blogger and youtuber because the reason is you can know about something right, like you can learn and study and gather all the equipment you think is necessary in order to be a successful of longer. But unless you take that first step unless you cross that barrier from knowledge, knowing something, knowing how to do something to actually doing something. You're never going to be successful at it because it's not about how much you know. It's about how much you do and how much you contribute. Because at the end of the day, what makes somebody successful isn't how talented they are now. I'm not saying that talent is not a contributing factor, but it's definitely not the number one factor to success. Action is definitely much more important. That mindset to just do something is much more important than how much you know of something. I think of it in terms like this, where you could read as much books as you want on how to ride a bike. But how much you know about how to ride a bike? Does that make you an actual bicyclist know? The action of actually writing the bike is what makes you a cyclist, you know, especially like when I started learning how to ride a bike, I was probably about five or six. I never opened a book on how to ride a bike. I just learned by doing it. What I've found is that people who spend way too much time worrying about the equipment they have or how they're going to film something or how they're gonna edit something and spend much more time just learning about the thing they fall into a trap called analysis, paralysis. And what that means is, basically, you analyze things so much in your head that you start to hesitate. You start to worry about the little my new things that, ultimately, well, either fix itself or won't matter in the long run. And one of the things that I want to warn people is that you know, it's good to watch other YouTubers and how to videos, especially if you want to learn something. But that should never stop you from starting. You should never be like, Oh, I need to learn this thing 1st 0 I need to get this thing 1st 0 I need to figure out this tactic first before I turn on the camera or before I'm good enough to start because that is always going to hold you back, as it has with a lot of my friends who are super talented and I think would do fantastic as a YouTube blogger or find success in whatever YouTube channel they want to create. But because they never cross that barrier and take that first step, no matter how much skill they have, no matter how much expensive equipment they have, they will never be a successful of Logar unless they start. So people who are less technically skilled than the people with skill those people, as long as they start, are gonna six find success faster than the people who know much more about camera gear and the technical side of filming and editing. Keep that in mind mindset. Inaction is much more important to success than how much you know and how much skill you have. What I want to stress here is don't compare yourself. Don't worry about how much skill you have. Just start because skill is a is learn herbal. But having that mindset to take action that is much more important and often times that's not something that most people do. That's where people always get hung up on. Always remember mindset. Inaction is much more important to success, rather than how much you know about the technical side of filming and making videos
6. Why Motivation Won't Get You Far: Oh, my goodness. So now that I've talked to a little bit about mindset in action, I also want to touch on the topic of motivation. One of the biggest traps I fell into when I first started blogging. Or even sometimes. Currently, I'll tell myself, You know what? I'm just not motivated to make a video. I'm not inspired, You know what I mean? Like, I don't know if that has ever happened to you, but that has definitely happened to me where I just won't record a video because I'm not feeling motivated. And I want to talk about the dangers of that because one of the things that I found out very quickly and the hard way is that motivation does not last. Even if you get a spark of motivation and you record your first video waiting for that next motivation to make the next video and to continue being consistent based off of when you have your motivation is not gonna be very helpful because motivation it comes and goes so rapidly. And so what I found that is much more important than having motivation to do. A video is building the right habits to consistently make video content. I've been putting out a video day since January 1st 2020 especially in the beginning. It was a really hard process to have motivation to start to hit that record button and make a video because there are moments where I'm just like man, I'm too tired. I worked all day. I don't want to have to deal with this. I'm not feeling motivated to make a video. I'm not even really comfortable making a video because I'm not in the right headspace. Like if I listened that voice in my head and just allowed myself to be like, Oh, don't worry about it, you could just do it when you're feeling motivated. Well, I don't know when that motivation would have come, so I probably would have never been successful as a daily vlogger or YouTube blogger. What really helped me keep up that consistency When it came to YouTube, blogging was just making it a habit that if I said I was going to do it, regardless of how I felt, I still turned on that camera. I still hit that record button, and I still gave it everything I had. The more I did it, the easier it became. So even in moments like today, you know, after I record all these coarse videos, I'm not going to want to sit and record of long for myself and edit of log for mice myself and spend another four or five hours just editing and filming and then upload ing. But because I've done it every single day, regardless of how I felt, it's gonna be easier for me to do it, because I built up that strength and habit of doing something, regardless of whether I'm feeling like I want to do it or not. In moments where I don't have the motivation because I built up the habit, I don't have to rely on waiting for the next spark of inspiration. I could just produce a video regardless of how I'm feeling, and a lot of people will say, Well, motivation and inspiration is what produces the best videos. Not necessarily true. Some of the best videos that were received very well from my audience and viewers were some of the videos that I didn't even want to make in the first place. Some of like I wasn't even feeling making that video, You never know what's going to spark a feeling in somebody. So just because you're not feeling motivated to make something doesn't mean it's not gonna inspire somebody else. You just remember that the next time you're not feeling motivated to make a video, if you relied on motivation solely to be a successful blogger or YouTuber not going to get you very far, it's so much more essential to build that habit within yourself to do something that you're going to say you're going to do, regardless of how you're feeling in order to find the success you're looking for when it comes to YouTube and blogging.
7. Ready, Fire, Aim: that needs to be washed. Um gross. Okay, so I had to take a break for a second and put on a hoody and a hat because I was getting cold and my hair was bothering me. But we're gonna go ahead and continue on with our trajectory of success going online with the motivation and mindset. I really wanted Ahonen ominous because this is so essential to your success as a youtuber. It took me so long to get this concept because I spent way too much time when I was starting out my blogging channel, researching, being self conscious about my abilities and my skills and trying to plan out. Okay, this was the big one trying to plan out my niche, trying to figure out what I wanted to be about, what I wanted my channel to be about. I spent hours and days trying to figure this out until one day, my husband was like, just record your first video. It doesn't matter what it's about, just record it. And then, as you're doing it, you will figure out what you want your channel to be about, because then you'll you'll figure out your channel. You'll figure out what it is that makes you happy. You'll figure out what you want. What kind of story you're gonna want to tell on your channel when YouTubers ask other you tubers? Well, how do you start? And they tell you, Just start. That's literally what they're saying. Don't worry so much about what your channel is gonna be about. Don't worry about what your content is gonna be about. Just film. The first video that comes to mind I think about it in terms of budding business owners and their business plans is one of my last businesses was a media company. A lot of technical books on business like college textbooks will tell you you need to have a business plan before you start your business. But when you talk to a lot of entrepreneurs and actual business owners, they will tell you, just start your business. You'll figure it out as you go. And it's because you can spend as much time and oftentimes days writing out a business plan of exactly like what you plan on doing your projections and all that kind of stuff. But once you start your business, you realize very quickly that everything you wrote all that time you spent writing a business plan is now completely different. It's so hard to predict what is going to be successful or what is going to stick in a business without having started the business. And it works very similarly on YouTube as well. You could sit there and plan in your head exactly what kind of content you're gonna have, what kind of niece you're gonna have. But you don't really know what your audience is going to want to see or what's going to grab your audiences attention or even what you're going to be interested in filming. In one of the business books that I was reading, there was a chapter that said, People spend way too much time ready, aiming and firing instead that what they should be doing is readying themselves than firing and then aiming. So that book basically meant was people spend way too much time in that evening phase where they're trying to aim their trajectory before they fire. What you should be doing is getting yourself set up firing and then aiming, and then adjusting where you want to be, you think about a lot of YouTubers who started a lot of their content in the beginning is very, very different from what they do now. You know. A good example is Shane Dawson. He started off doing skits and videos and flogs, and then he moved on to doing, you know, tasting word food and conspiracy videos. And now he's making docuseries, you know, And so just because you decide on what your channel is going to be about its most likely going to evolve and change, So spending so much time worrying about that in the beginning isn't gonna do you much good . Because like I said, one thing I found out is the moment I started. It wasn't too long after that when I realized everything that I thought about and planned completely changed. And another reason why I think it's so important to ready fire aim rather than ready aim fire! Is that ready? Fire! Aim, I feel like gives you more flexibility once you start writing down your goals. And once you start figuring out, you know what exactly you're going to do when you start your channel and you realize quickly, that's not exactly the direction you want to go. It's gonna be hard for you to be flexible and then change and evolve because you're like, No, that's this is not how it's supposed to be. I have a plan. But if you ready, fire, aim and then you start adjusting your content after you started, I think you're going to be much more open to just being flexible and changing and then being more like Bruce Lee says, being more like water just being being more flexible. So I really recommend the idea of ready fire aim ing Don't spend so much time worrying about what your content is going to look like, What kind of things you're going to talk about, what your channel is gonna be about what your nature is gonna be. Just start. Just pick up a camera start a great place to start, is an introduction video and then go from there, you'll start figuring it out. The more you do it so
8. Don't Copy Other Vloggers: the other day I was watching an interview between James Charles and Philip DeFranco. One of the things that James Charles said that really stuck out in my mind is people who become successful on YouTube as a platform. They find ways to capitalize on what makes them great and they run with it. And I think that's a really, really important thing to think about, because when we're starting off flogging and I don't think this isn't wrong by any means, but because by doing this I feel like it gives us ideas and it gives us something to strive for. But one of the things that we do have to eventually move away from is not copying other bloggers. When I first started doing YouTube blogging, I was highly inspired by Casey, and I stopped blog's like I wanted to be the next Casey Neistat. And if you look at a lot of my earlier videos in the period where I was very influenced by Casey Neistat, a lot of my shots and stuff over a very Casey nice daddy. I'm sure you also have a lot of lockers that you respect and love their content. But one of the things that David Dough, Brick said. When he was interviewed about this, he said that a lot of mistakes that people make is they're always trying to be like other bloggers. Instead of trying to be the next David Dough Breck. They take parts of what they like about David Dough Brick and then incorporated in themselves without fully becoming or trying to be that person. And I think that's super important, because when it comes to success on flogs like, you know, nobody wants to see another Casey Neistat. Nobody wants to see another David Dobre because they're already they already exists. What people want to see it, something new, something fresh, something that somebody else that will inspire them. And so I think it's a really good starting point to watch YouTubers and try to emulate them in the beginning to kind of like test the waters until you find your footing. But the goal should never be to completely copy somebody else. Nobody in the world is going to do you better than you, because at the end of the day, the whole point of flogging is showcasing your experiences, your journey, your life so when you're going out into the world and you're starting your blog's, don't try to copy other bloggers. Take the things that you like about those the bloggers that you look up to but always try to find a way to express yourself in your own unique style. Because, like I said before, people are not looking for the next Casey Neistat or Mr Beast or James Charles or Philip DeFranco. People are looking for somebody else to give them fresh ideas and fresh inspiration. So always aim to be yourself in your videos. And don't worry about what other bloggers air time.
9. The Blessing of Having Low Views: I think I've been sitting here for about three hours, recording videos back to back to back. I really have to go to the bathroom. I'm going to do that after this video. I need to, like, walk around, maybe have a piece of chocolate. I don't know. In this video, we're going to talk about how it's almost beneficial. Toe have low subscribers and viewers in the beginning. And I think a lot of people that I say this too illiquid, But let me explain. Hear me out. I'm not crazy. Just just listen. I got you, especially when you're starting out. Most likely you're belongs. You're gonna be all over the place and often times I hate to say it, but it's probably not gonna be great. It's not gonna be. It might not be good, and that's OK, because anything we start, we're not going to be great at it in the beginning, because how we get better is just continually doing something right, because the more you do something, the better you get at it because you build the skill you build the habit, all of that stuff. We've talked about this so in the beginning your videos are gonna be great. You're probably not really going to be proud of it. I sure wasn't if I look at some of the videos that I did earlier on, and it's almost like Cringe Fest. But like, there was this weird part of me where I I was really self conscious about the videos that I was putting out because I knew they were that good, but at the same time was disheartening because I didn't have any viewers or people engaging or watching my videos. Something somebody said has changed my view on this. And I'm so glad I heard it, because that moment they said that I was like, Ho, you were so right Think about it in terms of being on stage in front of nobody and then being on stage in front of how hundreds of thousands of people. Now, let's say you're on stage, you're doing your thing and then you mess up. Would it be easier to mess up in front of nobody? Or would it be easier to mess up in front of 100,000 people? So think of that when you're starting, when you're trying to get a foothold when you're trying to get comfortable in front of the camera, having somebody watch your videos in the beginning, when you're still trying to get used to the idea of logging and getting used to being in front of camera, I think is gonna be a lot more pressure for you. And so when I thought about it that way, I was like, Wow, you're right. By the time I started getting viewers and people watching my channel and engaging it with my content, I was starting to get more comfortable in front of the camera, and I was starting to be happier with the content that I was producing, and I think about like, the old content that I had. And I'm like, Man, I'm glad nobody watched this when I was starting out and that people people came in. Just a zai was starting to get more comfortable. So if in the beginning you're having that moment where you're unhappy because you don't have a lot of subscribers and viewers, Well, first of all, it's gonna take time. But secondly, think of it in terms of those moments just being a no pressure platform for you to be as creative as you want to fail as many times as you want to figure out your footing and to figure out your place in the YouTube world. Because, like I said, it's so much easier to focus on your content and what you're creating without the problem. When you don't have the pressures of somebody watching you, and as you continue to flog and hone your skills and stay consistent, you're going to start attracting viewers. So no, don't worry about not having him in the beginning because eventually they will come. But just allow that time to be a moment where you just practice. It's just a dress rehearsal before the actual show before the audience starts coming into the theater. And then by the time audiences start walking into the theater once you start getting more comfortable with your YouTube, there is just a different way of viewing, having little account of you counts and engagements. In the beginning,
10. Don't Delete Your Old Content: the other day I was watching a newness honest video. And if you don't know what Yunus honest is, it's a channel hosted by market pliers Ethan Nestor, also known as Crank Crank game plays. They were talking about YouTube. One of the things that market players said that stood out to me is, Don't delay your old videos. I think it was something very important that needed to be said, and I've also heard Mr Beast say the same thing. I think when you're starting off and you're still in that phase where you're kind of self conscious about the things that you're putting out, one of our biggest immediate reactions is to want to delete some of the old videos. I've definitely been in that position, but believe it or not, there is going to come a time when you're going to look back on those old videos and be grateful that you still have them up because it's a great reminder to you of where you started and then where you are now because you start to because you'll you will see the evolutionary progression of how much your videos get better and better over time and It's not just for you, though. I think you know, when I look for YouTubers. One of my habits is all goto a YouTubers channel, and I'll see I'll see their videos and I'm like, Wow, they're amazing. And then what I'll do is I'll hit that sort by old video button and then I'll look back at their old videos, and it's almost inspiring for me to see old videos of how they started. If you go to Mark, apply or even Ethan Nestor, which is create game plays or even Mr Beast or even David Gilbert, like even Casey Neistat, like all those YouTubers Shane Dawson, it doesn't even matter if you sort by old videos and you look back up how they started in the videos they put up and then you see what they're doing now. It's like Holy crap if they started there, and that's about where I'm at, like there's no telling how much I'll grow over time and how much better I'll get overtime . And so having those videos as a constant reminder of where you came from is really, really important, not just for you, but other people who come across your channel A swell. The thing that I used to get hung up on is just thinking back to old videos. And I'm like, Man, should I have said that like, should redo that video? Don't worry about it. Once you post a video, it's in the past. While you should worry about is focusing on your next content. Don't don't get hung up, hung up about what you already did. Think about what you're going to do.
11. YouTubers You Look Up Too: All right. So this is gonna be your first assignment. Now that we've talked about not deleting your contact, not coughing other bloggers, what I want you to dio is actually look up YouTube bloggers, you admire that. You get inspired by that. You get motivated by in this assignment, I want you to look up your top five YouTube loggers or YouTubers, that you look up to go to their page, look at some of their newest videos and then after you're done watching their newest videos , what I want you to dio is that want you to sort their videos by oldest to newest? Because how it's laid out right now is gonna be newest to oldest. So what I want you to do is go back and sort it by oldest to newest and watch some of their old stuff watch some of their old videos and then compare it to their newer stuff. And the reason I want you to do this is because I want you to understand that usually when we come across these bloggers or YouTubers, we see them once. They've gotten to a point where they've had some success and once they've gone to a point of having like high production content because they've built it up over time. But one of the things that we usually don't do is go back and look at where they started. I personally think it's extraordinarily motivating to see where people start, because oftentimes compared to what they're doing now, it's not great content. But the thing that got him from that not so great content to where they are now, where they're putting out great content and high production value with expensive equipment and all that stuff they had to start from somewhere. And I want you to visually see that point where they started from. Most likely, that is where you feel like you are at. I just want you guys to get a visual understanding of where you could be. So go to your top five YouTube breeze that you look up to and they will get their newer content and look at their older content and really compare and see the evolutionary change and progression as those YouTubers group. If you can't think of top five youtubers that you're into check, the resource is have and I will have a list for you. There
12. Best Vlogging Equipment: All right, so now we're getting into the nitty gritty of things. Now we're gonna be talking about equipment. We're gonna be talking about editing. I'm gonna give you guys a project to film yourselves your first flog, and then we're gonna go through editing. But the first thing we're gonna talk about is your blogging set up in the beginning, the best absolute best absolute best equipment you could get your hands on for blogging is honestly, whatever you have available to you, Does that sound cliche? Probably. But it's true. I don't know if I mentioned this in other videos, but I used to own a media company. And so because I used to own a media company, I have decent gear. But do you know what I use the most log with my iPhone. I literally every log sense probably coming to Japan has been filmed on my phone. And oftentimes I get compliments on the quality of my footage. And most people don't even know that I fill my videos and my vlogs on my phone. And there are three reasons why record my videos on my phone. Number one is accessibility. I've done the whole thing of carrying around camera bags, having my mike's in my bag, having my cameras, my SD cards of the batteries, the tripods like I've gone through all of that. And for a while that's how it was blogging. Every time I leave the house, it wasn't just my wall in my phone I was taking with me. It was like a whole bag. And then when I went to go start filming my videos instead of just taking my phone out of my pocket and just starting to record, I would have to go through the process of setting up my camera, making sure the SD cards in there, making sure the mikes on there, making sure the levels for the mikes correct. And then, you know, it's just worrying about all the steps. But I found out early on, especially in the beginning. It was so much easier just to use my phone because I have my phone with me all the time and having to carry around all that gear just became super tires. And when you're doing a daily log like I am, it was almost de motivating to have to worry about carrying all that gear, worrying about the setting of my camera, the exposures, the F stops, the mic settings, like all of that was such a pain in the butt from the beginning. And it was, honestly, I almost quit blogging in the beginning because I was like, This is this is too much work So I took away the extra steps and just started using my phone, and it's been helping me keep consistent. Now am I going to stick to just phone blogging for ever? Probably not. I mean, I definitely want Teoh revert back to using my gear, but especially in the beginning, when I'm trying to build a habit of being consistent, it's so much easier. Just use my phone. That's probably the number one reason I recommend just using your fellow owners. Just whatever is most convenient for you. Number two is in skin conspicuous nous. I know that that sounds kind of shady, but its not necessarily about, you know, just like trying to capture other people or in like a stalker. Rewe. That's not what I'm talking about when I talk about them inconspicuous. What I'm talking about is when you're out in public, especially when you're starting out blogging. I think there's a lot of nervousness, right, because you're it's so awkward flogged in public. But when you're just using your phone of love most of the time, people don't really even notice you having your phone out in blogging. And oftentimes, when people see your phone out like that, they probably assume that your face timing somebody. So I feel like in the beginning, when you're not used to blogging in public, it's so much easier to have your phone and just pull it out and just flog really quickly rather than having this whole rig set up with this camera and this microphone and this SD card. And you're like trying to financial everything as you're trying to log and try to get used to public flogging the third and final reason why I think using my phone is so much better than having an entire rig. I think it helps get rid of the barrier. I've already talked about this a little bit, but when you're trying to create content consistently, making the steps of logging as simple as possible is essential because when you're starting out already or worrying about so many things, you know, you're worrying about how awkward it is to block in the first place. Then you're worried about like the shots and like your your your think you overstate your over thinking so much when you start adding the complexities of like having to deal with a camera, it's just too complicated in the beginning. For me, it was definitely a setback, and I almost quit daily blogging because of it. To make it easier for me, I just I just use my phone. But if you are insisting on getting a camera for flogging, one of the cameras that I recommend is the Panasonic GH five. I think they've upgraded like it's that camera itself is a little bit older now. They have updated upgraded versions of that camera and the reason I like that camera and specifically, and I think there's a lot more cameras that do this now. But they have that flip out screen. Let me show you eso This is my luminous expand our It's a Panasonic, but its the GH five bloomin x you. But it has this flip out screen, right? Listen, you can do this. You can do this you could do that. And I think when you're blogging, it's It's really useful toe have this flip out screen so you don't necessarily have to get the GH five for the Panasonic. But just having a camera that just has this flip out screen is immensely helpful for flogging, because then you could do this, and then you can actually see on the screen what it is you're doing as you're recording, So it's a very helpful tool. So if you are going to get a camera and flog with the camera or just do you tube with a camera, I recommend getting a camera with a flip out screen.
13. The Best Editing Software: all right, So now that we've talked a little bit about equipment now we're gonna be talking about the editing software because that's another question I get asked quite a bit. Is what editing software I use. I use Final Cut Pro if I don't have access to my computer. And if I don't have access to file cut pro, I will edit my videos on I movie on my phone. Or if I'm using my friend's computer and they only have Adobe premiere. Like all use, Premiere is well, personally, I prefer final cut pro I've used Premier, I've used Sony Vegas, and there are technical reasons why I prefer the final cut pro over those Softwares. But at the end of the day, the biggest reason I use Final Cut Pro is because I have a Mac and it just works so seamlessly with my Mac. I'll probably go into more like technical details of why I choose Final cut pro over Adobe premiere, because that that seems to be like the biggest, like, which one do you use? I'll probably talk about that more in my more advanced how to edit course that I'm gonna be making in the future. But at the end of the day, whatever you have access to is the editing program you should be using. Be honest with you. For the most part, all of them pretty much act the same. Some of them have more bells and whistles. Some of them can't do as much as the other programs do. But when you're talking about just cutting and pasting and putting a video together, all of them do that. In fact, I know YouTubers who specifically still use just I movie on their computer because it's easiest for them and they don't want to pay an arm and a leg to get premiere or final cut. And their video is still really good. I mean, yes, there are more technical things that you could do with more. You know, expensive software like Final Cut Pro. It'll be premier, but you could still make really great videos by using free software. In the resource is Tab. I'll put a list of paid editing Softwares as well Aziz free editing Softwares so that regardless of what your budget is, you'll have a place to start in terms of editing software
14. Where To Get Music: I am a firm believer that music is very central to setting a tone for videos like I think movies or especially horror movies like with and Without the music so completely different , even comedy movies. It's oftentimes the music that really helped make that moment much more impactful, and I think it's the same thing with flogs. I mean, they're of logs that I don't even put music in, and they do just fine. But I do like to also play around with sound and music, especially to set a mood. So in this video, I'll be introducing to you guys some paid sites and free ones as well that you could use for getting music for your videos. Now my husband, who is also a youtuber he uses YouTube's audio library. It's a free library source for music that YouTube has. There is actually a lot of good stuff in there, even has sound effects and the ability to search for music. The one downside for me is that even though it offers good music choices, I feel a lot of them is pretty basic, and I also don't like the interface of the me YouTube music library The site I use for music is called Epidemic Sound, and it's a paid site. You've probably heard of it or seen it advertised. I know a lot of YouTubers use it as well. I just love the wide range of choices you get for music and sound boards and sound clips. I love that you could take music from epidemic sound, and you could break it up into different stem so, like you could take out the percussion part if you want to, you could take out the melody part if you want to, or you could have the whole music. I love that you could kind of play around with the music, and the biggest thing for me is the ability to sort through the genres as well as moods. For instance, if I wanted to make something funny or comical in my vlogs, I would just sort through bloopers or funny and epidemic sound will bring up all the music that fits that blooper and funny. The search function on that thing is just so awesome and so amazing. For instance, I did a cooking video for one of my vlogs. I wanted music that fit that cooking show, vibe and epidemic sound had already generated an album called Like Cooking Show. That really would put somebody in like a cooking show mood. And I just think that's awesome You're gonna find out soon is that editing usually takes the longest. Filming is easy, but editing is the part that takes the longest. And when you make your blog's, I'm not even gonna cut that. I'll just leave that in there. And when you spend so much time editing and then you have to spend time searching for music that fits the mood. And you have this huge library that, like simplicity, of just being able to search through genres or moves or like albums of fit specific videos , like all of that makes everything so much more easy and seamless. The only downside to epidemic sound and this is a This is actually a pretty big downside is that it is a paying membership fees. You're basically paying epidemic sound a monthly fee to have the rights to play the music on their site on um, in your videos. But if you stop paying for their membership, you lose that ability to use the copyrighted music And that could potentially get you flagged by YouTube for using copyrighted music to stop paying your epidemic subscription. Because the moment you start paying for your epidemic subscription, then you don't have the rights to use that music, even if you have been paying for in the past, will still flag it. So that is a downside, because I use epidemic sound for almost every single one of my blog's. And if I stop paying for epidemic sound, all my videos would basically be flagged for D monetization. Not that I'm monetized right now, but eventually when I do get monetized and if I did stop paying, prep it and make sound. So I see that as being a pretty big downside, which is probably one of the reasons why my husband prefers the YouTube audio library. But if I'm going to be you tubing in the long term and I'm gonna be flogging like I think it for me, it's worth it to have epidemic sound because they give you a great selection of music. There interfaces awesome. They just the things that you can do with epidemic sound is just is just great, so I don't see myself not paying for it, so I just, you know, it doesn't bother me too much, But in the beginning, especially if you're hot, you know you can't pay for a subscription. You don't have money to put into your blog's. Then just use a YouTube audio library. For now, that's a great source for access to free music. I'll leave the link to both of those in the resource is top, so you can go check that out.
15. Filming The Vlog Part 1: The Intro: Alright guys, in today's video, we are going to be making a vlog. Now I want to start by saying that I has almost hesitated making this video because the conditions for making this video is not perfect. Let me turn this on. Not perfect by any means whatsoever. My husband is sitting across from me. He's watching videos. He's clicking on his laptop. My family is on the other side of that wall walking around like an elephant. You can absolutely crazy noises. I just want you guys to know that when you're starting, no condition is ever gonna be perfect. But what we have to do is work around it. You can't change the circumstances that are happening around you, but you can change what you're going to do with it. So today you can see that I have to set ups going on here. This is gonna be the blogging camera that we're gonna use today to record our vlogs. The footage from this camera is gonna be used to piece together of log and we're gonna edit that together in the editing portion of this video. This video is gonna be my behind the scenes camera I'm going to take you along with me behind the scenes of how I position my camera, my thought processes behind certain shots and how I structure things that way I could give you guys tips and tricks along the way. So when I was trying to come up with the topic of what I could do for our first flog together, I was thinking maybe we could do something simple, like walking to the park and filming that or going to the store and buying our favorite snacks. I think something fun and outdoorsy, but I don't want anything to stop you from filming a block. I don't want it to be like, Oh, I can't go outside today. I don't want the topic of the blood toe limit you on what you can and can't do. So today we're gonna be doing something simple from the comfort of her own home. I mean, I'm still in my pajamas and we're gonna be utilizing this as a prop for the blawg today. Today is gonna be simple and short, going to take a topic that's typically mundane and try to figure out a way to turn it into something fun and flog herbal. So today's of long topic is gonna be doing laundry, Not how to do laundry, but just my journey of doing laundry today. So let's go ahead and get started. The very first thing that we're gonna record is the intro to the block. Normally, when I do intros, I usually just start with a simple hello. And then I go into an explanation of what we're gonna be doing for the day. So let's get started. You got to get all of that out. Pretty flog. Get ready for this. Hey, guys, What's up, kid? Here. Thank you for tuning into today's flog. And now, as you notice I am still in my pajamas, it is raining outside. It's one of those days where I just want to stay home and be lazy, but I really can't be lazy because I have so much laundry I have to dio So today's block, we're just gonna be doing laundry. Okay. Okay. Um, well, before and see, this is a port part and I want you guys I want you guys to understand I hesitated there. It's because that's a very natural saying, even in front of the camera, you're gonna hesitate no matter how many times you've done it before. No matter how long you have done it, there's always gonna be a moment where you gonna hesitate? You're not going to know what to say. And that's okay, because editing magic, we'll fix this. You're allowed to pause. That's totally fine. Go back. I think I know what what I want to say to continue this, all right, but the first thing I want to do, but the first thing I want to do is actually look presentable. But the first thing I want to do, even though I'm not gonna leave the houses, I want at least look a little bit presentable. So let's go ahead and start by getting out of these pajamas. All right, so that was a decent enough introduction, and I know it might have looked like it was all over the place. There were pauses or hesitations. There was a point where I stopped and talked to you guys. Don't worry about it. We're going to fix all of that with editing magic. Now, another thing. I want to point out that you saw that I did this at the very end where I covered the camera to make my screen black. The reason I did that was because in the next scene I have a transition idea of what I can do to transition into the next scene. Let's go ahead and move into that scene.
16. Filming The Vlog Part 2: Fade To Black Transition: remember how I did this with the camera? I made the screen go black with my hand. Well, this is gonna be the next transition shot that I was thinking. I thought it would be really cool since I talked about how he needed to change. My clothes is toe Have a scene where I'm pulling clothes out of the drawer and I'm gonna show you guys how I'm gonna be doing this. So this is the shirt I'm gonna be wearing for the day. We're gonna take the blogging camera that we're gonna hit record s. So say hi, guys. Say a little the blogging camera, and we're gonna put this flogging camera into the drawer. Kind of like so kind of looks like that, you know? And then what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna go ahead and put my shirt on top of it. We're gonna close it, and the next scene is just gonna be me taking the shirt out of the drawer. So we're gonna go like this, and that's gonna create a really cool effect when you piece it together. Let me show you guys a little bit of what I took here. But This is what it's gonna what that shot look like now it doesn't look like anything right now. It just looks like a shot of somebody taking a clear close out of the drawer. But it's going to have a really cool effect when you piece them together. Now we're going to go into the changing of the clothes, and I have a really fun effect that we could do for that as well.
17. Filming The Vlog Part 3: Quick Change Transition: So in this scene, we're gonna be doing a fun cut together where I do a quick change of my clothes. I think it would be fun to do a transition where I'm wearing this close one second, and then in the next second, I'm wearing a completely set of different clothes. So we're gonna go ahead and film that scene now of my camera flogging camera set up over there. I have my clothes that I'm gonna wear set up over here, and then we're gonna I'm gonna show you how we're going to do this part. Put the camera down, get you guys sell set up. Okay, You seem perfectly. This camera can see me perfectly. Now, What I'm gonna do is I'm gonna do that quick change transition where I'm gonna jump. And then in the next, like after when I land, I'm gonna be wearing completely different clothes. So let me start the camera. Cocoa. Cool. Looks good. I'm recording. Let's go ahead and get changed. Okay. Now I got to remember where I landed. I got to remember where I'm at as I'm changing my clothes. This is really important. Sometimes you have to like move around, away from where you're standing locally right now. I could have my clothes right here, so I don't have to go for good to stand right here. What I would recommend if you have to walk away from this to get something or change something, I would just put, like maybe little stickers or markers. So you know exactly where you're standing. I'm gonna go ahead and make this scene black for a second while I change into these clothes . So you guys don't have to see this part. All right? Now back. I change my clothes in this camera. It's gonna be a quick transition. So we're gonna have to do the jumping thing all over again. Just make sure that when you do the jump that you're in the same place you were. I moved a little bit, but it's fine. I think mostly I'm in the same spot, so we're gonna jump real quick. And they do that a couple more times so that I have a choice between a couple of jobs so that some of the other jumps might flow soon. Leave with the first clip that I shot somebody do a couple more times
18. Filming The Vlog Part 4: Explaining The Story: All right, So now we're moving on to the next scene in this scene. I'm gonna be talking about, like, a little bit of clothes explaining what it is I'm gonna do because, like, I have a pile of laundry here that needs to be clean And there's like, a basket right there that needs to be folded. And I'm just gonna be explaining that in my blawg I changed. Let's go ahead and move on to the actual doing of the laundry. As you can see, guys, I have a pile of laundry. There's needs to get done. And I also have some clothes here that have been sitting in that basket for, like, three or four days that I need to fold. And I have just been I just been playing it off because I'm lazy. It's fine, but let's go ahead and start with taking care of that laundry. We're gonna do the folding of the clothes. The one thing I want you guys to understand is that belongs were not pretty or cohesive when you're filming it, there's all over the place, and there's one thing that I think I had a really hard time with. was because I felt like, as I was filming at everything felt wrong. Everything felt like I don't I don't still know how it's going. Like I don't I just don't know how everything is going to come together, but trust me and editing it will just keep filming. You can fix it in post. That's actually a very common thing. That is said quite a bit in like the media world is like, Really, What are you going to do about that mistake? Don't worry about it. We'll fix it in post post meaning post production anyways. Okay, so now we're gonna go ahead and get us. Take a video of me organizing my clothes. Now, I'm probably going to do, like, a time lapse shot for this on my phone of me. Just kind of like dumping everything out and then putting everything back so that I know what I'm gonna wash and stuff. I have an iPhone 11 Has the time lapse If yours does not have the time lapse, don't worry about that. You could just set your phone down. Do you like a regular shot? You could leave the sound in or you could take out the sound and maybe overlay different music to it to make it kind of fun. But we're going to go ahead and get that shot here. We're going to go ahead and record this. I have my phone right here. I am going to do a time lapse. So it's going to start time elapsing and, uh, yeah, I got my camera set up with how I want it to be. So I'm gonna go ahead and put you guys down and continue on with filming this portion. This is actually kind of fun and difficult because I'm trying it like setting will do different camera angles, different camera angles at the same time. Time lapses do is it takes the footage and the pieces it together. So it looks like it's happening very fast when you're doing a time lapse. Try to dio your motions like regular speed and try to give as much time for the camera to capture as much footage is all right. That should be good enough
19. Filming The Vlog Part 5: Using Jump Cuts: So we're going to go ahead and move on to the next scene, which is me taking the basket into the laundry room and usually for things like that, I do like a very quick transition where I'm gonna go up, up, up, up, pick up the basket, maybe get some shots of my foot as I'm walking out of the room, opening the washing machine door, putting my clothes and putting what's open closing all of everything, starting the buttons and doing the laundry. And I think I'm gonna do this in very fast successions. And what it's gonna do is I'm gonna take few a few seconds of each clip, and then when I go into editing, I'm going to piece it together really, really fast. Like, did it? It it it it it. Let's go ahead and do that one. I think it be really, really fun. The first shot I'm gonna do is of me picking up the basket. What we're gonna do with that is just gonna point the camera ports basket and I'm gonna do a shot where I'm doing this. And like I said, all of this is going to come together in the end. I know you guys probably confused as to what all of this is gonna look like on the at the end, but trust me, it's gonna come together, not getting magic. That's all I need for that shot. And then what I'm gonna do next basket and I'm just gonna get a shot of me. My foot just walking. So I have the basket, and then it's just gonna be shot of my foot. Just walking. That's all I need. Let's move on to the next shot. All right, Now we're in the bathroom. I have a bunch of clothes, They're go. We're gonna go ahead and put that clothes in the laundry. But we're gonna take really short clips of the steps along the way. And then when I piece it together at the very end, like I said, it's gonna be like did to do that and you'll see what I'm talking about. But let's go ahead and get their shot. We're gonna go ahead. What we'll do is recording. That's one short. That's a little shot. At this point, I'm actually gonna put my phone into the washing machine. It's gonna be a next shot inside the washing machine but close coming in into the washing machine. So let me show. You guys were talking about late. I'm laying my phone is the Washington take that same chunk of clothes and I had just started that should have created a really full of that just closed coming into the washing machine. Just a one shot. It's just fun. Be creative with this and then, actually, you know, it would be really cool. It would be really fun if, since it was the clothes coming out of laundry with last seen, that might be really fun to do the last piece of clothing being taken out from the laundry basket. So what I'm gonna have to do and bury my phone into the laundry basket? Let's do this. A lot of this is prepping. You have to do a lot of prepping when you're doing blog's, especially if you're going to do a lot of different shots have been recording, so we're just gonna go ahead and just take out one like we normally do. All right. The last scene rose right here where the clothes came in, and then I went black. So the next scene. The next transition next scene would be a transition shot, last piece of clothing coming out of the laundry basket. When you piece it together, it's gonna look really, really cool. So I'm gonna go ahead and go on with a couple more of the shots that I want. Now, I'm gonna do this scene of me. This always hard to do because I have to do it one handed opening this so we'll get a shot of me grabbing. It'll be like, basically all the shots I want. And like I said, it looks like a lot of shots, and it takes very long. But when you piece it together and editing, it's gonna be like, Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom boom E. Now, in this scene, I'm gonna talk about how I'm gonna be like, Okay, now I got the laundry being washed. Now I have to go back to my room and fold the clothes, so we're gonna go ahead and do that. So Ready? All right, guys, Laundry is all right. All right, guys, during closes being washed now I have to go back to the room and take care of the clean ones. Pulls. Do it
20. Filming The Vlog Part 6: Filming With Slow Motion & Timelapse: All right, So we're back in my room. I have my camera set up right here, because I'm going to do this, like, fun thing right over here. I had this idea as I was walking back from the bathroom to hear because I was like, Well, what can I do to make folding laundry seem fun? So I thought it would be really cool to use this little no function on my iPhone. Some phones may not have this. If you don't, that's totally okay. What? I would probably what I would do in that situation and is used your regular footage and just put, like, epic music over it or something fun. So but this is the thought I have. So what we're gonna do is I'm gonna sit in slow motion this shot, and I'm gonna put like I'm gonna be throwing the clothes onto the ground. I'm gonna be I'm gonna grab the basket, I'm gonna throwing the clothes onto the bed. But because it's in slow motion, everything is gonna be very, very slowly. And then at the end, I'm gonna grab the clothes and I'm gonna, like, lifted into the air. And it's just gonna like, come falling down, trickling down very slowly. I think would be really funny to do that with epic music playing in the background just to make it seem like it's like a whole epic thing. And then I'm gonna make, like, faces like, you know, just like intense faces. And I just think it's gonna be really, really fun. So we're gonna go ahead and do that And then after the so motion, I'm probably gonna put in a time lapse shot of me folding the clothes to maybe like, clown used like doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo todo So it's gonna go in from this, like, epic like, ah, slow motion shot too. Do do, do do do I think it'll be really fun? Let's try it out. I don't know how it's gonna work, but in my head it looks really funny. So we're gonna go ahead and shoot it like that. So we're going to start with a slo mo it slo mo button and that I'm gonna put you guys down . Yeah, You guys can't come with me on this one because I need my any My hands. So you guys are gonna be sitting right there watching in this life. All right, let's go. So again, explaining the shot. I have my long here and it's gonna be me. What I do is I might come into the scene with the laundry basket like this, and then just walk into it and then just start throwing clothes onto the This is one thing I forgot when you're in slow motion and make sure to walk at a normal speed. Because if you walk slower than you normally do, it's gonna be even even being more so. That's something I always forget. So walk into it so you could cut this up with epic music. Ah, there goes. Ha. What? Insane, Then let's see the end. All right, go in a hug. It nice gonna shoot that one more time. But that's basically the gist of it. And then we're gonna go ahead and go into the time lapse shot. Let's do everything , everything. That and then we're gonna transition it into the time lapse shot. Let me double check the footage real quick. See how that Trudeau let me see if I like it before you go into time. elapsing. That looks intense. Oh, my gosh. I'm like throwing my back into it. I love it. Who? I'm like slaughtering this close. Ah, yeah, Sly in it. I love that I love all my sons Husbands. Underwear is like falling off my shoulder. That's great from here. We're not gonna move the camera angle. We're going to go straight into time lapsing.
21. Filming The Vlog Part 7: The Outro: All right, so now I'm done folding the clothes. I could probably make this go on a lot longer, you know, putting my clothes, once my closer, done washing, putting into the driver. But honestly, this I think this was a very short and simple log. People got the point. I think it was just moment t meant to be more entertaining than anything. So if you want to go ahead and film all of that, you're more than welcome to. But I honestly think this is a really good place to stop. I'm gonna go ahead and do an outro video thanking people for watching the log and wishing them they have a good day. Yeah, let's go and do that real quick. We'll probably just do it on this bed, honestly, So let's go ahead and fill the uh Oh, holy crap. You know, it's getting humid and hot in Okinawa, Japan, when you're sweating from doing laundry. Oh, my gosh. It's one of those things where I feel like I'm gonna have to take this clothes and throw it immediately and slipped into the washing machine because of how much of a sweating just from doing my laundry. It's crazy. Anyways, that was it, guys. Just a simple day of doing laundry. You know, the whole goal for today was that I just wanted to be lazy, But I feel like I did more work than I normally. Anyways, I love you guys so much. Thank you for tuning. And I will see you in tomorrow's log by, uh, by piece. All right. I haven't altro that I do, and I always forget what it is. All right, I'll see you guys in tomorrow's love Peace by all right. Oh, my goodness, guys, that is honestly it. That is how you film of luck And it's really simple. You could take out all of that, what we just did and just have yourself sitting there folding clothes and talk about your day. That is an acceptable flood. Those were usually called talking flogs. Or as I like to call them on my channel talking bargains. But that is also acceptable. The fun thing about flogs and the reason why I wanted to try to make a vlog out of something What people usually find to be mundane is that you can take any situation, be creative with it and turn it into something funny and fun and exciting. So you don't have to have this extravagant lifestyle where you go out into the world and you're jumping off cliffs and Machu Pichu or you're living this crazy exotic lifestyle. You could make an everyday singles everyday situation fun. And you know what the best part about that is is that you have the ability to connect with people because a lot of people are in that situation. So making a simple situation fund for people to watch is a challenge. I think ultimately it's much more rewarding because so many people will be able to relate to you in that situation. Was everything ideal for this block? Absolutely not. The lighting wasn't great cause it's overcast E I. In fact, I had to turn on the room light. Normally, I don't have to. My husband's clicking away at his computer by families outside the dog is barking. No, nothing is ever gonna be perfect. But the thing that we have to remember is, despite our obstacles or obstacles, we feel we may have. We just we keep going anyways and we keep creating, and the more we do, the better we'll get. And the better we get, the more successful we'll get. And the more successful we'll get, the more opportunities we're gonna have to do much more fun and extravagant things. Thank you guys so much for coming into this video. The next video is gonna be of us actually editing this long footage, which I'm really excited because I know there is a lot of footage. Is that where you were like, I don't know how that's gonna fit in. Trust me with editing magic, it's all benefit in perfectly so I'll see you guys in the next video by.
22. Editing Part 1: Intro: Yea. OK, so we are back in business. Welcome to the next video. In this video, we are going to be going ahead and taking the video clips of the log that we shot. And then we're gonna be editing it in this video. I just want to let you guys know that this is not gonna be a detailed how toe edit video. I'm gonna be making a different course on more specific details on how to edit. I'll go deeper than I will in that course than in this course. This video specifically, I'm going to be using final cut to edit with. If I went into more detailed, it would just I would just have to make a video on how to use final cut pro. But since that's not everybody that's taking, this class is going to have final cut pro. I wanted to make sure it's just kind of an overall view of how I put clips together and how I edit it and how I put music together and what where I put music in and how I do the titles and stuff. I actually wanted to make this class so that you didn't have to spend any money. All you would have to use your phone toe and a computer toe, make a vlog and use editing software and all that. But when I want to go ahead and download DaVinci Resolve, which is one of the best free video editing programs out there, from what I'm told, I've never actually used it myself. I was going to use it with you guys and show you guys how to use it. For some reason, my computer wasn't having it. I think it's because it's old and it doesn't have a lot of space. Was having issues getting. It had nothing to do with the actual DaVinci Resolve program. I know a lot of friends of mine who have it and use it and love it, but for some reason it wasn't working on my computer. I didn't really want to go ahead and download I movie because I have final cut. I just want you guys to know you don't have to have fancy editing software. You don't need a fancy camera. You can at it using anything, anything that cuts clips together. You could make a block out of the don't let the fact that you don't have final cut pro or Adobe premiere be a limiting factor for you. There's always free editing software out there that you guys can use and still create amazing clogs. I know people who personally use those and still make amazing blog's. So let's go ahead and jump into my screen. This is gonna be one of those where you're gonna be looking at my screen. Let me go ahead and get that part set up. I should have already done that, but I didn't. And perfect. All right, we are in the screen of my computer. As you can see, this is the editing software, and as you can see why I've already plugged in the clips now, one thing I do want to say is that the clips that already in here I did kind of edit it a little bit, but it's not like a huge deal. It's just that to save time, because editing is usually the part that takes the longest. I just plugged into place all all the clips that I knew where they needed to be, and each clip I kind of tweaked a little bit by taking the beginning and end as well as the in betweens where I was explaining to you guys on the BTS camera. This camera ended up capturing all of that too. So I took that all out. Otherwise it would have been an extraordinarily long clip. OK, so another thing that I want to say is that I will be including these in a resource tab, these clips so that if you guys want to go ahead and download these clips and play around with editing, used these clips to the practice editing you guys are more than welcome to. But I highly highly recommend that you guys use your own clip, so make your own flogs and, ah, work on those clips. But just in case you guys don't have clips to work with, I'll be including these specific clips. In the resource is Tub. Without further ado, let's go ahead and get started. Let's go ahead and play the first clip and see what we got here.
23. Editing Part 2: Editing Vlog Intro: Hey, guys, what's up, kid? Here. Thank you for tuning into today's flog. And now, as you notice I am still in my pajamas. It is raining outside. It's one of those days where I just want to stay home and be lazy, But I really can't be lazy because I have so much laundry I have to dio So today's block, we're just gonna be doing laundry, OK, But the first thing I want to do, even though I'm not gonna leave the houses, I wanna at least look a little bit presentable. So let's go ahead and start by getting out of these pajamas. All right, so there is a couple of things I already know that we can do to really make this this more engaging and fund. I know a lot of people will probably clipped the videos. Ah, clip the videos together to make it more short, like where they want to be, and then I'll go back and re edit each clip to make it more fun and exciting. Um, but I'm gonna go ahead and just make each clip fun and exciting. So the first things first is this part right here? It's a lot of those days where I just want to stay home and be lazy. But I really can't be lazy because I have So so this one where I talk about, I have so much laundry I have to dio. It would be really cool if I just kind of blew that portion up so my face will be closer. One of the things you guys probably notice that YouTubers do a lot of the thing called Jump Cuts and Jump Cuts is used to help take out some of the unnecessary pauses. But it's also a way to keep people's attention because people have very short attention spans. And if you were just using one clip where you're just constantly talking, for the most part, it doesn't hold a lot of people's attention. So a lot of YouTubers will use jump cuts and like zooms and do amounts to make things more entertaining than it actually is. And those are the tricks that we use. I think I read somewhere in a film book that said, If you look at a TV show and you count one, 234 the camera will be at a different angle It's a little camera trick to keep people's attention. So, um right here, going to be, like, so much laundry says so. Okay, So much laundry. I have to dio So we're gonna go ahead much longer. Okay? So, laundry, I have to dio Okay, So this one right here, I'm just going to go ahead and kind of zoom it in just to kind of like, emphasize this point. So it'll be like, I just want to stay home and be lazy, but I really can't be lazy because I have so much laundry, I have to dio All right, so say that makes a little bit of a difference. Although I think I kind of zoomed in a little too much, though this this about this much zoom would probably be fine here. Thank you for tuning it. So even here, like normally, I would probably just cut this tiny portion out just to make it seem, um just so that I take out some of the unnecessary pauses. Hey, guys, lets up hit here. Thank you for hope. Its hose kit here. Let's up kit here. Thank you for tuning into today's flog. And now, as you notice. I am still in my pajamas. It is raining outside. It's Ah, outside. It's one of those days where I just want to stay home and be lazy, But I really can't outside. It's one of those days where I just want to stay home and be lazy. But I really can't be lazy because I have so much laundry I have to dio So today's block, we're just gonna be doing laundry case block. We're just gonna be doing laundry. Ah, but the first thing I want to do, even though I'm not gonna leave the houses, I want, at least like a little bit presentable. So let's go ahead and start by getting out of these pajamas.
24. Editing Part 3: Fade To Black & Quick Change: So Okay, right here. So this is gonna be the transition between me pulling that close out. So this is where we're gonna be. Oh, all right. So I have to cut some of this to make it more cohesive. So the moment it turns black, Okay, kind of like one frame at a time. That moment, I'll just cut wherever that moment, wherever that is. Okay. And then in this clip, wherever the moment is, where it starts to get, like, OK, so that's the flat frame. So the frame right before that. All right, let's go ahead and do that. See where? How the getting out of these pajamas. See, Isn't that a cool transition? Because otherwise, if we hadn't done that, they would look like this. But we turned that and we did this. Ah, that's a cool transition. So getting out it makes it more interesting. Then it goes. This is the part where I jumped. And then in the what I wanted to do was when I the moment I landed, I would have been a different clothes. So what we got to do here is I have to find a moment where I see we go jump. Probably somewhere around here. Take the other one. Okay, so this is where I stopped. So this is probably so around. There should be good. And then we go Think that and then it will be like, Ah, and that awesome is that little move each magic trick. So although I should have, I should have probably moved the clothes here because it's it's quite obvious, Like, because what you want to do in those situations is you want to make sure that l everything else around you stays the same. Um, but obviously there's my clothes here, and then there isn't here. So there's that change difference, but just keep that in mind. But it's not like a huge deal, but it's something I just noticed that it kind of like takes away from the scene, but whatever. So let's look at that. Who? Let's go and get changed. Boom! Nice. Her fixed
25. Editing Part 4: Vlog Explanation: all right. And then we go ahead and move on. This is where I'm the next clip is of me explaining what I'm going to be doing that day and how what I'm going to do. Well, I know I'm gonna be doing laundry, but now we're going into a more finer detail of what it is that I'm doing. So let's go ahead and see what it iss. All right, I am changed. Let's go ahead and move on to the actual doing of the laundry, if you can see you guys, I have a pile of rubble well of laundry. There needs to get done. And I also have the laundry you can. So see, this is the part where I've used these pauses right here. I would probably clip out just because it doesn't need it doesn't need to be that long of a pause. So what I'll do is I'll take that and then I'll take a clip it out and then be like of the laundry. You can see you guys see, that's so much more smoother. And then that can also probably be, um, shortened. Doesn't need to be that long. Laundry that needs to get done, and I also have some clothes here that have C. I kind of like stuttered my words there. We could take that up. We'll go ahead and take that out done. And I also have some clothes here that have been sitting in that basket for, like, three or four days that I need to fold. And I and so a lot of these lake usually especially like my husband. He'll just go in and clear out. All of those pauses will just take it out before he edits everything. Um, so for the most part, I'll go ahead and do that to some of the pauses, though I'm finding that certain in certain clips. Some of those pauses are necessary, so I'll actually wait to watch through the clips before I take out deposits to figure out what I what I want to keep in what I don't want to keep. Because some of those pauses your necessary most the time. It's not, though, so it flows change. Let's go ahead and move on to the actual doing of the laundry. All right, I am changed. Let's go ahead and move on to the actual doing of the laundry. As you can see, you guys, I have a pile of laundry. There's some things to get done, and I also have some clothes here that have been sitting in that basket for, like, three or four days that I need to fold. And I have just been fold. It totally messed up there. Whatever, Um, I have just been putting tonight. Let's take that out Old and I have just been at and I've just been putting it off because I'm lazy. That also could also take out that pause. Easy. It's fine, but let's go ahead and start with taking care of that laundry. See, as you can see, like there certain parts where I started my words, those parts I typically take out just so that it doesn't sound, um, so like there's so there's not as many like clips in the sound. Her clips to the clip. It's just a smooth it sounds more like smooth, so there's still some clip. I gotta figure out where that is taking care. Okay, so So a lot of this stuff that I'm doing right now isn't 100% necessary. I'm just a little bit more indignant laundry we're gonna do okay, And there's a really long pause here that I could take out 100. We're gonna do the folding of the clothes. Let's do it. See that part right there? That that hole this pause that, like pause there. I would leave that in because I'm doing this Would weird hand thinking. I'm just going to and I think that's fine Clues. See, it's not like just me just pausing to figure out what I'm gonna say or just filling it with thumbs and as it just makes more sense. So let's play back that clip and see where we're at. As you can see, you guys, I have changed. Let's go ahead and move on to the actual doing of the laundry. As you can see you guys, I have a high level of laundry. There needs to get done, and I also have some clothes here that have been sitting in that basket for, like, three or four days that I need to fold and I have just been, and I've just been putting it off because I'm lazy. It's fine, but let's go ahead and start with taking care of that laundry. We're gonna do the folding of the clothes. Let's do it
26. Editing Part 5: Jump Cuts 1: this clip right here. I'm just gonna leave for a second, cause I'm not putting any music in just yet. And I'll I'll tweak this one once I start putting music in. So I'm just gonna not worry about this one right here. Gonna go ahead and move on to the next scene. So if if you remember, this was the scene where I wanted to do everything like do, like, really fast sequences and so it's going to start right here, and then we're going to go. It's going to go all the way. Maybe I might not use all of it, but we're going to go ahead and start really clipping these together really fast, and you're gonna see here what I was talking about when I was telling you guys this in the BTS. So Okay, so so right here. We're just gonna go ahead and take out this one right here. That's that's all I need, literally. That's all I need. Just that portion right there. Just just that noise. And then this one will probably I might not even use this part, but just kind of showing quick clips, sequential clips of just going to do to do to to do, just making it seem like there was like But, you know, everything's going fast mode of fast paced. But it still carries the story along because it's like, OK, first he's grabbing the basket. Then she's walking to her, the place. Next. He's opening the laundry machine, but it's instead of doing it slowly. It's just, like dictated to do. It's just like a fun way to move the story along without dragging out some of the clips. So and then I'll probably And then I'll probably take out that. Probably take out that. I think I like that. Clip it cool. So it's like, Yep, that's good. Um, and then there's so there is that do bum good, good, good. And then So this was the part where I took the clothes out of the laundry basket. So this part, I'm probably going to want to see where it starts getting lighter, like we did in the last clip over here, or is it like here? So we're gonna go ahead and go back and do a similar thing. We just want to make sure where it's getting a lighter. Okay, right around there. Perfect. So we'll go ahead and do that. See, that was such a cool transition. Ah, love it. Okay, cool. Cool. Cool. Okay, so we'll probably do the probably you that and kind of here. So probably, actually, we'll just take out that. See how fast this is getting. So it's like telling the story, and it's contributing to the pace of the story. You know exactly what's happening. It's just instead of it getting long and drawn out, it's just do Did you do? Did you do I keep making that now of noise? Did you did you to do right? All right. Perfect. Okay, so this part right here, um, so this part I might actually keep the sound because that's a very unique sound. I'm gonna start with me pushing the button and then
27. Editing Part 6: Jump Cuts 2: leave it there. Let's see. Okay. And then I like the water. Sound it, Actually, I love that sound. So I just get I might get the beginning of that. So that's where it starts. So we're going to go ahead and do that, Okay? That's all I need. I don't need very long clips, so hum accidentally. Well, that I think I did. 22 takes that. No, I did not. Okay, so I like hit it, Actually, kind of like that. At first, I was like, Man, should I redo this? But now let's look back at it. I actually kind of like the clumsiness of hitting that the side of the laundry machines. We're gonna keep that of them. All right, That's good. Good. I'm just gonna take that. I don't really know if that's certainly there we go. Just a quick clip of that. There's not a lot of noise is because the water is so out overpowering, But that's fine. And then we're going to go ahead and cattle. All right. I put the cap on and then put this back in the sink, and then I grab the softener. Okay, so we'll take that um, perfect. And then we're just doing the same thing. My husband's watching something on YouTube right now, and he's trying not to laugh so that it doesn't bother me. And then we're gonna go ahead, include that sound and then pouring this in Cool. So we don't need it to be long. We're just gonna go ahead and take a little portion of that so it shows that we're what we're doing And then good and, uh, actually kind of like that. I might keep that that, like, section I'm just having, like, struggling to put that on, because I think it's got a buddy and then we'll just take out this and then just make it. Let's see how that looks. Yeah, that's fine. I hadn't do that. All right, so and then that was it. All right, Now let's take a look at that. We did a lot of cutting their I. I don't know if you guys quite saw what I was doing, but let's go ahead and see how that looks. Um, now that I cut everything up, so I think it's a little long. Normally, I wouldn't do so much of that in like such a long, long stint, but we'll see how it looks. So here it is. Actually, I think that actually turned out really good. I think it works because there were certain clips that kind of offset the like, constant the data, like this clip right here where I think that was a good break between the dedicated the debt. So I think, uh, I think this actually works. I'm actually really happy with it. Nice, Todo I love that our laundry machine does that. Perfect, actually. Think that looks good? I like the little mistake there. Nice. Okay, so we're gonna go ahead and move on to the next clip.
28. Editing Part 7: Acknowledging My Mistake: All right, guys, Dirty clothes is being washed. Now I have to go back to the room and take care of the clean ones. I'm gonna go ahead and I'm gonna see what that looks like. If I take out that pause back to the room and take care of the clean ones, we'll do it. Um, was do it. And one schools do it. So right here. Okay. This is a mistake I made right here. I did this thing where I would I put my hand in front of the camera to make it go black, cause in the next scene, I was planning on doing that little transition again. But I totally forgot to do it in the next scene. So I'm just gonna take out that part so that you don't have to worry about it, and it just ends with me going was do it. Bulls do it. You could see me like going in for it, but it's fine. Okay, so this is the slow motion shot. Now, this is going to require some music editing, because what I wanted to do was make this sound intense and crazy. And like, just insane. I'm gonna have you guys watch some of it. We're going to go through this without the music added to it. Um, but yeah, Let's just watch it. Um, first of all, you're probably going to notice that this the video quality is not as good. There's a little bit more noise to it. That's because usually when you shoot video footage in slow motion, it needs more light to capture. The room is pretty dark, so the slow mo just came out more grainy. But that's okay. You know, sometimes you get clips like that. Don't worry about it. If it still tells the story, don't don't worry so much so much about it, especially in the beginning. Like don't let these little tiny things make or break your video. Here I am walking into the scene. Here we go. Oh, oh, do Oh, I love it. I love out everything to slow. My face looks so intense and then here ago, throwing it down. Bam! I love it. I love how my husband's underwear just flying out of the basket. It's great. Oh, I love how the slow mo on the iPhone captures the sound. It makes it so much more like due to yo, Here I go. Lifting it up into the air. Oh, this is so good. It is so great. I have found my husband's underwear just ends up shoulder referred balls. Okay, so that looks good. Um, and I know the time lapse video is also going to look good, so I'm not gonna worry about that right now. We're gonna go ahead and add music through that later to make it more fun and exciting. Let's go ahead and finish clipping the rest of it because we're now at the end.
29. Editing Part 8: Cleaning Up The Outro: uh, Holy crap. Okay, so right here. I actually I think depending on my mood, I may not shorten it, or I may, um, this port in this portion, I might just kind of tweak it to see, like, if I could have less pauses. But the pauses actually work in this in this clip. Like, I think, like it makes sense. You know that pause. I just probably doesn't have to be that much pause. So let's see. Let's see if we could make this a little bit more fun. So here I go. Falling into the bed. That's fine. Let's see if I could just get the next scene. Just my feet. Just waving. Okay. Ah. Okay. Let's just go ahead and clip that. Yeah. Care. Let's see if I could uh oh. Uh oh. Uh ah. Let's see. Uh Holy crap. You know, I actually like that flow a lot better. I'm glad I cut those out. Now, I don't think it necessarily needed to be cut out, but like I liked all those moments where I might get, like, grunting noises, and I'm like, flapping my feet in the air, but, um, there are so many different pauses in there that I feel like I could take out and still have those moments without having those pauses as well. So holy crap. You know, it's getting humid and hot in Okinawa, Japan, when you're sweating from doing laundry. Oh, my gosh. It's one of those things where I feel like I'm gonna have to take you on an injury, Actually. Really? Like that. I might see if I could I actually might Might zoom that part because it was just kind of gross. See what that looks like? Oh, okay. Yeah, I kind of like that. I kind of dig that, although probably keep accidentally zooming it more than I should. There we go. Kind of center me 100. Oh, my gosh. It's one of those things where I feel like I'm gonna have to take this clothes and throw it immediately untill into the washing machine because of clothes and throw it immediately untill into the washing insulin immediately. And so I kind of made a mistake there, and I might intervene, so I might be able to salvage that. Let's see how that sounds into the washing machine because of how much Uh, no, That's when he went into the washing regime because of how much it was sweating just from yes back. That pause could be taken out much of this wedding just from doing my laundry. It's crazy. Okay, meet me breathing and deeply before I talk Quirk Anyway, that out. It's crazy. Anyways, That was it, guys, It's a simple day. The guy's just a simple day of doing that. Was it guys just a simple day of doing laundry, you know? Ah, sometimes it's like if I cut Thies too close together, it's too much of a jump cut and I don't know if I like that. Let's say doing laundry, you know, the whole goal for today with this Fine. I think these two clips here matched enough that it's not too bad, So we're gonna keep that under. You know, the whole goal for today was that I just wanted to be lazy, but I feel like I did more work than I normally. Anyways, I love you guys so much. Thank you for tuning and I'll see you guys in tomorrow's log piece by
30. Editing Part 9: Epidemic Sound VS YouTube Music: All right. So one of the things I want to do is I want to go ahead and, like, make this portion epic. Unless I want to find epic music to do this. Now, I talked about this, um, in a different video, but I use epidemic sound, but we're not going to use epidemic sound because epidemic sound costs money. And I want to just let I just want to prove to you guys that you guys don't need a lot of money to do this. But if you want to, you're more than welcome to use epidemic sound. I'll probably talk more about the epidemic sound stuff in my actual like, more in depth editing course. But I'm gonna try to pull a lot of the music that I'm gonna use for this from the YouTube audio Music library, which you to pass for free. Um, so in here, I typed in epic, and I'm gonna go ahead and listen to this one. Like how it starts. It says a hip hop, though I don't know if I was feeling the hip, I wasn't sure I would like the hip hop, but, um, I'm kind of like in this. All right? All right. I can feel that. Let's go ahead and give that a shot. We'll see how this list looks.
31. Editing Part 10: Slow Motion With Music: to to This is actually really cool. Okay, so schools do it, Okay? I don't I don't like that. Like dip there. That's makes it seem like myself. My Spotify is cutting out. Let's go ahead and do that. Let's put that in there. We'll do it. Okay? This is where the sound gets better. So let's go ahead and we'll do it. Yes. Okay. So this part is where, like, the beat draw drops and that, like, it starts getting like, Dude, just so we're gonna go ahead and find a different clip. That kind of fits that better. Which would probably be this one. E e like it. Let's try it again. OK, it's OK. Let's keep going with that. Let's do it. So one rule of thumb, I want you guys to know when you're editing with music and you'll see that me doing this is with every like, you want to pay attention to the beats because matching your clips to the beats make it really, honestly makes or breaks your video flow. And when you're when you're attaching into music, I know a lot of people who just kind of put clip our music over a cliff, and they just call it good. But having those clips, like specific parts lineup to specific beats, I mean, that's this is all artistic preference. But just having that beat matchup to specific clips really makes, like the feeling so much more different, for instance. All right, let's let me explain. So for here. Like so that that boom right? I could have done this. Like I could have just left it, but see, like, it just doesn't feel as exciting, you know, But to be able to let go to have, like, the clip change as the beat is dropping, that makes that makes it more, like, impactful. See like that. Yeah. So you guys at the point. So I'm gonna I'm gonna match. I'm gonna match the beats. I'm gonna match the clips to the music to make it more like exciting. So it takes a little bit of practice, but it really does help, Like, make things more exciting. So here's another beat drop. So I'm going to see if I can find a different clip that Okay, this is kind of like me throwing the basket onto the bed. I kind of like that So let's see if that works. I don't know if I like that, because makes I'm not smiling in that moment. So I'm just, like, smiling in that moment here. Let's just go ahead and move past all that. Let me just see if I could. Yeah. So this is another part where the beat will make that doof noise. So this is I'm gonna, like, maybe do this. I like that face. I want to keep that face, okay? And then allow the clothes just kind of fall down on. So I'm gonna go ahead and stop that there. I really, really like that. I let me let me look it over, cause so where I'm digging it, Let's see what this looks like. Schools do it. I love that. Walk up with this music. It's so good. That's so good.
32. Editing Part 11: Timelapse With Music: okay. And then we'll go into like like I remember I was saying another Ah, in the beat on me filming portion I was gonna make this into, like, doo doo doo doo doo doo like a blue like a you know, like a fast paced like and like a clown chase type music. Yeah, because I think it would be really funny to go from, like, super epic to just, like, do, do, do do do do So let's go ahead on five music that fits That's typically the type of music I'm thinking in my head is called blooper But let me see Oh, my goodness. This is why I like epidemic Let me show you Let me like I'm not even sponsored by about epidemic Let But let me let me let me plug them in Roll click If we type in bloopers, there's so many. So you like This would be perfect for that, but we're not gonna use epidemic. We're gonna go ahead and find songs that actually work for this on YouTube. This just sounds like Pocahontas Way. Don't need that. Um, what else would it be called? A funny, funny mood Happy genre Oh, there we go. Um, well, they're genres. Okay, Let's see. I don't like that at all. All right, give me a second. Let me let me find the good. Let me find the perfect music for this. All right, So we're back. I did find one on here. I typed in clown and I came up with a song called Rodeo Show By the Green Orbs. And I do kind of like this. I do like the sound of it. So we're gonna go ahead and plug that in. I just like how it makes it more circus e and kind of like blueberry and funny. So we're gonna go ahead. Let me show you guys. What, um, what we're doing here. So So it doesn't need to be crazy. So we're just gonna go ahead. There is a part of this where I think I was talking to you guys most the time. So we're gonna cut that part out. There were. Yo, I think this is around the time I stopped talking to you guys, so we'll just use that. I'm probably gonna move it forward just a little bit more. Not that it really. You notice it much when your own in time lapse, but and see if I could. So this is probably where I'm going to end the sound. Okay. All right. So I'm gonna go ahead and finish do putting music and stuff and doing a little bit more to the clip. I'll come back with you for I'll come back in a little bit to show you guys what I did. But that's pretty much essentially what I'm doing is I now that I just, like, plug music in from here and then just kind of work with it, See if I could make it a little bit more entertaining a little bit more fun. Um, but for the most part, this is how we cut the clips together, and that's not gonna change. But I'm gonna go ahead and add titles, and then I'm gonna add music here, and then I'll come back and show you guys What I didn't see in a little bit
33. Editing Part 12: The Final Product: Alright, guys, we're back. I went in and tweak the audio's all the audios were level with each other as well as with the music, so I just kind of balanced all the audio out. Sorry I didn't show you guys that part, but those that part takes a while. I'm gonna go into more depth on those types of things when I make that course of how to use final cut pro on how to edit with final cut pro. But I went ahead, balance out the audio. Um, the only thing I think I changed is the music that I used on this clip here. The kind of like fun Clowney music I found found a better one when I was looking through the audio library for YouTube when I was looking for music for the other stuff. So I just, like, changed out the music for that, but otherwise just balanced out the music and added by end and stuff right here, which you guys will see in a little bit. This isn't like what I actually use for my for my YouTube channel and then Ah, yeah. So we're gonna go ahead and watch this together real quick. You guys will get to see the end results and ah, just see, like what we did together. So we'll split. Hey, guys, What's up, kid? Here. Thank you for tuning into two days flog. And now, as you noticed, I am still in my pajamas. It is raining outside in those days where I just want to stay home and be lazy. But I really can't be lazy because I have so much laundry I have to dio So he's block. We're just gonna be doing laundry, Okay? But the first thing I want to do, even though I'm not gonna leave the house isn't one at least presentable. So let's go ahead and start by getting out of Let's go ahead and get changed. All right, I am changed. Let's go ahead and move on to the actual doing of the laundry. As you can see, you guys, I have a pile of all hell of laundry. There needs to get done, and I also have some clothes here that have been sitting in that basket for, like, three or four days that I need to fold and I have just been at and I've just been putting it off because I'm lazy. It's fine, But let's go ahead and start with taking care of that laundry. We're gonna do the folding of the clothes. Let's do it. All right, guys, dirty clothes is being washed. Now I have to go back to the room and take care of the clean ones. We'll do it. Yeah. - Holy crap. You know, it's getting humid and hot in Okinawa, Japan, when you're sweating from doing laundry. Oh, my gosh. It's one of those things where I feel like I'm gonna have to take this clothes and throw it immediately untill into the washing machine because of how much of a sledding just from doing it's crazy. Anyways, that was it, guys. Simple day of doing laundry. You know, the whole goal for today was that I just wanted to be lazy, but I feel like I did more work than I know. Anyways, I love you guys so much. Thank you for tuning in. I'll see you guys in tomorrow. Love peace by
34. Editing Part 13: The End: All right. So that was it, guys, That was less. That's three minutes. That's less than three minutes. That was a full log. Just me doing laundry, taking a mundane task, a boring task that normally people would find. Not vlog herbal. But I just turned it into something fun, A little bit of an adventure. There is definitely moments where I was watching through it that I wish I did a little bit better. But for the most part, I actually liked how it turned out. I think it flowed out. Fluff flowed out. I think it flowed very well. It really, really helps when you add music and when you add those cuts. Because, I mean, you guys saw some of those clips. I'm sure either you guys were wondering, like, How is this going to turn out good at all, But with editing, magic, anything is possible. Um, so one of the things that I wanted to mention to you guys, because looking back what I would do better about what? This is two things. Um Well, actually, kind of one thing. Look at two things. Um, this part right here, Um, where I go, I do that I don't think I showed enough of that. I probably would the extend that clip a little bit out before I jump into the frame because like, if you do, if you watch this fast, kind of like hard to see what's going on by getting out of these pajamas. I was like, What is that cloth? You know what I mean? So I probably would have I would probably would have extended a that out a little bit. Another thing I would have probably done is, um, kind of here like it's not too bad. But there is. There is noise in this shock. There's nothing could be done, unfortunately, because it was lighting issue with slow motion, but kind a little, a little bit of voters me a little bit, but that's okay. One thing I want to kind of point out is having music really enhances it. But playing with like, moments where certain things get emphasized like this from here I have music, but then all of a sudden I don't. But I really can't be lazy because I have so much laundry I have to dio. So I think that kind of adds the comedic effect of like, you know, just like a moment of seriousness. And then we just go back into the happy music. I think that's a really fun twist. I saw that in someone else's video, and I was like, That's That's awesome. Um, but yeah, that's it. That's how we end it, um, of long. That's how I at least ideo everything. Like I said, his personal preference. You don't necessarily have to do with this way. Um, there are definitely people who find success and flogging by just talking to the camera as they're doing household chores. So you don't have to make flogs like this where it's like crazy and, you know, different cut scenes in different music. You could make any block successful. As I said earlier, I will also be adding these clips into the resource tab. So if you guys want to you upload this to your editing software and play around with it and make different versions of it, you're more than welcome to do that. But if you do take this clip and then you add it something together, I would actually love to see that. So, uh, please upload that into the skill share student thing, cause I that would be that would be really fun to say, Um or even what would be better is to see your own version of doing laundry. How? How can you make it creative? How can you make it entertaining? I would also love to see that. So please, please post that, uh, that's it for this video. So thank you guys. And we will we'll move on to the next video.
