1. Intro: Hey, Skill share my enemy. Sylvia, welcome to my first class. Have you heard of people working from home? Maybe. And does the thought of making your own schedule appeal to you? Or maybe one work while you're traveling? Or you just want to spend more time at home with your family? If so, then you can start today and become a virtual assistant. Threw up work just like I did in this class. I'll be teaching you the basics. First will be figuring out if this is really right for you. We don't want to be wasting time here. Then we'll figure out what you can offer. And lastly, we'll set up your own accounted profile. Enough work. So does this sound interesting to you? If so, keep watching. But before you go on to the next lesson, introduce yourself in class project down below. Just one. Our just sentence is enough just so we can get to know each other. I'll make sure to coming back on your project and give you any tips I can at this point, but we'll be adding to the project in future lessons, so don't worry 2. Is Freelancing For You?: So let's get started on learning how you can start a virtual assistant business with up work today. He's freelancing really right for you. Do you remember the questions I asked you in my in True let's recap. Do you want to make your own schedule or work while traveling, or even just spend more time at home with your family? If you answered yes to most of these questions, or even just one, you probably have a good enough reason to start working from home. Now can you commit to this? I mean, there's no overnight success, and you probably have to do a bit of work to find your first client. And at the beginning, if you're currently working in 9 to 5 or studying in university, you'll have to do a bit of juggling around with your new freelance business. And for that you need to be organized. You need to organize your schedule so you can have time for everything your current commitments as well as your new freelance business. For that, you can make use of the calendar app, or even just a paper planner is fine. I personally like to use the apple callin the rap just because it sinks really well between all of my devices and I get to call recorded a total of my clients and my personal projects as well. You should start by blocking time for your non negotiables. This would be your 95 if you're working on or your classes. If you're still in university, you should then fit your feelings in clients whenever you get the time. Maybe you wanna wake up early in the morning to get some work done. Or maybe you have a long lunch break or even probably wanna work just weekends. That's fine as well. And remember, if it doesn't work, you can always shift it around and try something new. We hold have 24 hours in our days. You know the saying, even Beyonce has 24 hours in your day and she gets things done so you can, too. Now, are you motivated? I mean, I don't want to scare you, but of course not every day is going to be a good day. You may have some trouble by and sorry there some days where you just might not feel like working today. On those days you should think again about you. Why and why you're doing this. If it's for the freedom of your schedule, think about the last time you had to see no to something you wanted to do or someone you wanted to hang out with. Think about how good it would feel to be able to say yes to wherever you wanted to dio. Or maybe if you wanted to travel more patrol places you've been wanting to visit. That could be a motivation. Are you just wanted to spend more time with your family? Picture them when you don't feel like working. Now take five or 10 minutes to reflect on this. If you feel like adding something to your project, feel free to do so now. Maybe share a bit about your why or maybe you wanted to share some organizing tips for your schedule. Maybe you want to share your schedule, take a screen shot of it or take a picture. If it's a big but planner, just share something in a class project, and if you don't know what you have to offer, you can watch the next lesson 3. What Can You Offer?: now, what can you offer? You may be thinking, Well, I don't know what I can do as a freelancer or as a virtual assistant. Well, that's where I come in and help you. Let me go back to these questions. Do you currently work 9 to 5, or do you have a degree or are still in university getting your degree? If so, trust me. You already have some skills. You can add them to your class project. Just start a bulleted list and start writing them down. Anything that comes to your mind, you can think of software Usu's before any people skills. You have glasses or trainings you had to do for work. Anything, really. Just write it down. Now what, are you really good at it? Convey something you've been braced for by a friend or family member or something you've been wanting to share online because it's something you know you're good at. Don't be shy. Share it in a class project as well. Now what do you love to do? What would you do even if no one paid you for it? What would you do right now without hesitating? Maybe you're thinking well I know what I love to dio, but I'm not necessarily skilled at it. That's okay. I mean, that's what skill share is for. There's probably a class for what you love, but you're not skilled at it, so you can probably learn more about it. Even today, after you watch my class, so right, it's out, whatever it is, the true love, and we'll find you a skill that promise. And remember, you don't have to do the same thing forever. You can shift your focus at any time. This is just a couple of guidelines to help you find a way to start as a virtual system doesn't mean you have to do this one year from now five or 10 years from now. You just have to do something today to get you closer to your goal. 4. Creating an Account!: now for the actual upward part of this course, that's creator account. When you get to a port dot com, you should see this home page see there at the top right corner. You should click. Sign up and you'll be prompted to write your name and email address. Then you should select your own country, create to secure password and then select. I want to work as a freelancer. No, forget to take those boxes and click. Create my account. You'll then receive a verification email. It's pretty straightforward, so no need to guide you through this part. You will then be prompted to create basically, what will be your profile on up work. You'll be selecting. What's the main service you want? Offer which you can select admin support. If you're aiming for more of the general virtual systems, Are you conceal ECT any of the other ones? Just pick whatever works best for you. Then you will be telling them the skills you want off for your clients. This was your experience level. Remember, you can edit any of these later. Just pick whatever fits you right now. While those previous informations will help clients find you on a platform. It's your profile that's going to do this selling for you and convince clients that you're worth higher written over all the other freelancers out there. So you should start by having a professional photo of you. Now, this doesn't have to be professionally taken, but I would advise you to go with a white background. At least this could be taken at home. Mine was taking at home by my boyfriend, and it works perfectly fine. So this is something you can do today. Next. You should add a professional title. Now what this is is what comes below your name, and you should describe what you do in a short sentence. This is also searchable, so you should use relevant keywords to your business. The lawyer title. You should write a professional overview here. You can go into more detail on what you talked about in your title and overall again convinced your client that you're worth hiring. You should write this with your ideal client in mind, as if you were talking to them so high. Like your skills what you can offer anything that's relevant to your business. You can also add your education and employment history, and you should always be honest with your English proficiency. You also need to set up your rates now. I'm not going to go into more detail on this because it's such a personal thing. You will differ whatever you are in the world or wherever you are in your life or even wherever your skill set is. You should know that you need to have a margin for a pork fees as well as non billable hours. These are the times that you are looking for clients or interviewing with different clients , etcetera. Leslie, you need to add your availability and your location. Please be honest. Here is well because you don't want to take up more work than you can do and have it before work. You want to be doing quality work, especially in the beginning, but off course, always so you can get good feedback and then you can have a better reputation on upward. So I would just say, Start small and build up from there. If you think you can do more work, the rest is pretty straightforward. Just at your address and your phone number, and you're good to go. You should be hearing back from up work within the next 24 hours. In the meantime, don't forget. Tried your title and your overview and your photo was always you want to to your class project.
