1. Rosary Introduction: Hello everybody. I am going to show you how to make your own rosary. Whether you want to keep it for yourself or you want to give it to somebody as a gift, or if you want to sell them. This is how you do it. 2. Rosary Materials: Okay, here are the materials you need to make your rosary. You need some beads. You can find your beads at any local arts and craft store. I found mine at Walmart. But you, if you're going to use the same type of beads for the whole rosary, you're going to need at least 59 beads. I'm going to make wooden rosary with all wooden beads. So I'm going to be 59 wooden beads. Next journey, you're going to need beat spacers. You can get these Pete spacers are Walmart or Hobby Lobby or your local arts and craft store. So you're going to need some packet of beat spacers. Here. We're also going to need some string or cord. This court must fit the size of B that you have. So you might want to get a strong string or cord. So when you pull the rosary, it, it doesn't break easily. You're going to need a cross for the end of the rosary. This could be a metal cross. It could be a wooden cross. It's up to you. You can find his crosses at a local Christian store or you can find them online. I got this cross, a pack of crosses at on Etsy.com. And it was very affordable. You're going to also need a centerpiece for your rosary. The center priest has three holes where you can put the core, anti the core through. And you can have whatever centerpiece you want. There are many different types out there. I chose to pick the RNA-DNA, want to nuke bit centerpiece. You're going to need these metal rings here. So you can put them on your cross and on your your centerpiece so it can make the the court accessible and easier to tie the knot. And you need a not tire tool. So here is a not tire tool. I got this from Etsy. You can find it at a rosary store or the arts and crafts store. But I found mine from Etsy. If you don't have one, you can use a pencil or something similar to the shape of a pencil, preferably skinnier than a pencil to help you tie the knots if you do not have they not tire tool. And of course you're going to need some scissors so you can cut the cord or the string. 3. Rosary Structure: Okay, this is the structure of the rosary. The rosary begins with the cross. This is where you're gonna put your metal cross or wooden cross. Then from there you would have a solo be separated by spacers. Next you're going to have three consecutive beads here. Then spacers at a solo be. Finally, it's going to tie onto the centerpiece. And from the center piece all the way around, you're going to have five decades of consecutive beats. What that means is a decade is 10. So you're going to have a spacer than 10 consecutive beads for the Hail Mary prayers. Then you're going to have a spacer and you're going to have a solo before the Our Father prayers thing. I'm spacer and you're going to have another decade, going to have another consecutive 10 beads as baser than a solo be spacer. And another 10 consecutive beads. Finally, going to have another solo be separated by spacers. Then you're going to have your 10 beach here. A spacer, us, a solo, be a spacer, then another 10 consecutive beats. So summing it up, I am going to tell you that there's going to be five decades of consecutive beads. And in-between them is going to be a solo bead. 4. Getting Started on Bottom Section: Okay, so to start your rosary, we're going to start with the center piece. And we're going to create this bottom portion of the rosary first. So let's go ahead and get started. Okay, so we start out with the center piece that you have. And that is where you're going to connect a little metal rings that you have onto your centerpiece holes. This is going to make it easier for the string to fit in there and to tie the knots. So you're going to go into and do that. And after you finish putting the metal rings on to your center piece, we're going to go ahead and start the bottom portion of the rosary by getting a, about a foot and a half of chord. So whatever type of chord you choose, you're going to about a foot and a half of that because we need some extra core to tie the knots. Okay. So you have your foot and a half cord here. Okay, So we're going to start from the bottom of this centerpiece. And what you're gonna do is you take the end of your chord and you're going to put it into the metal ring that you attach to it. And from there, you're going to put at least four inches of slack here, a four inches. So you can tie the knot. You're going to get that together like that. And you're gonna get your not tire tool. And you wrap that around like this. And then when you wrap it around, you're going to overlap. I'm going to overlap the portion you have on there. You're going to go around your tool about three times. You can go more if you want. Then this is why this tool is important, because it has a hollow area here to stick one side of the, of the string in through there. And also the other side of the string in through there. And you're going to pull it out the of the tool on the bottom here. Okay. When you do that, you take the tool off. And there you have a car, you a string that's wrapped around itself. And you pull it together. And you can pull the knot a little closer to the centerpiece. And when you pull that apart like this, tightens up. So you're going to tie in as much as you, as you can. And you take one side, one side of the string and pull it in. You take the slack part of the string and pull it. So that created a nice naught for us right there. Okay, So then after that, you're going to go ahead and the slack part off, reaching your scissors. And if you have little scissors is probably easier because you can go into detail on cutting the small part of the string. So we got a little knot and now we're going to work on putting the beads in. Okay, so as you see the structure of the rosary. Here is the rosary here. We're going to want to start with a spacer bead, dental solo bead, that a spacer bead, then three consecutive beads. And a spacer, a solo, and a spacer. Okay, so we're gonna get our beads and we're going to put them on. Okay, so first we start off with a spacer bead. So make sure you get the spacer beat in there. Then we're going to have a solo bead. Then a spacer bead. Okay. So it's starting to look like the bottom portion of the rosary. From there we put the three consecutive beads, 123. Okay, You can pull that together and we see that it's starting to look more and more like it. Then we put the space or bead and a solo bead and another spacer bead here. Okay. So we have the bottom portion set out for us now. Okay. Just like that, it looks like the structure of the rosary. So next we got to put our cross on there to finish the bottom portion of the rosary. So to do that, you need to Let's go ahead and get this other rosary. Oh, okay. So to put the cross you need to get your cross that you have and make sure you put that metal ring at the end of the R cross. So the so the string can fit into and there and tie the knot. So we put that in to the cross ring. And we tie it, we get it close, make sure the beads are tightly against each other. Then we have about we'll have like about an inch to get like an inch like this between that space, that last space or bead and string that's wrapped around your cross. So it's about an inch. And from there we got to make R naught. So we get are not tire tool or whatever tool that you have. And you wrap that around that not right there where they're hollow on top of the hollow area. And you get that string that's leftover. Call it slack string, slack part. And you're going to wrap that around your tool here. Can wrap it as many times as you want. And you're going to overlap the string. That's, that's there. Sometimes you have to redo it. Okay, so you're going to put that over the tool. And you're going to wrap the string around the entire tool three times. Let's do another one, Let's do four. And then finally, when you bring this string around, you can put it through the, the the hollow part of the tool here. Okay, so when it's through the hollow part, that's where you can slide that tool out and see how it look like the string wrapped around, up, wrapped around itself. And that's where you can pull it. So you can tighten it. Tylenol. So you pull one part or the one side is where the cross is pulled apart. And can you pull that slack part? And that's how you tight in here or not. Ok, and make sure you get some strong string record because you don't want it to be breaking when you're trying to do these, not here. So we are not. And now we know we cut the slack off right there. Okay. So looks like we have the bottom part of the rosary complete. All right. 5. Creating the Decades: Okay, So I got about three feet of this chord or string, whatever you want to call it. Okay, so there's a lot of string I got out here. So I can have enough for all of the beads and also enough to tie the knots. Okay, so what we need to do first is we need to start from, I like to start from this right side of the centerpiece. And we need to tie a knot here. Okay, So tie a knot how we just did the last time. So when we tie it now we put the string through the ring here and we get about four inches, four inches of slack. And we pinch here, pinching on the left-hand side right here. So we can get ready to tie the knot. So we get are not tying tool here. Make sure you get the hollow side up. And from there, we put it on top of a hollow port part right there. And we hold it there with our finger. And from there we're going to wrap it around and overlap the string. And you can do this for three or four times. The more times you do it, The bigger than not you're going to have. So I'm gonna do about it like four times here. And then after four times, you slip the both parts of the string into the hollow part of the tool here. Okay? So we've got the short part and then also the long part here. Okay, It's going to take some practice to put them together. So don't, don't get discouraged if they're not comes out kinda weird. At first. I made a whole bunch of these rosaries and I still have trouble with the, not sometimes. So you bringing the long part of the string and through the hollow part of the tool here. So now both the short end of the string and the long part of the string are in there. So that's where we slide the tool off. And that is where we can pull the knot together. Tighten the knot. You might want to employ more towards the center piece. Okay, so there's the not. Now we cook the short part of the string off. And now we have are not. And we have a long piece of cord to do all of the other beads. So let's take a look at a rosary and see what the structure is. So next, we're right here. We're going to need a spacer bead. Then we're going to go ahead and do consecutive, 10 consecutive beats. And we're going to start with the decades of these, of these wrote this Rosen go and start with this base, your bead. And continue with the decades. So continue to put the beads on and this structure here. So you're going to put 10 beads, consecutive beats, and the spacer bead, and then a solo bead, space or bead, then another 10 consecutive beads. Then a spacer bead, solo bead, space or bead. And another 10 consecutive beats. Spacer be so little bead. Spacer bead, 10 consecutive beads, space or Beats, Solo be in space or beat. Then another. Finally, the last 10 consecutive beats here. And at the end you're going to put a spacer bead. And and that's, that's where you finish it and you tie the last knot there. And I'll show you how to do that when we get there. 6. The Last Knot: Okay, After you complete putting all the beads in a structure, and you finish to the last spacer bead here, you're going to need to finish the rosary by time that last not. So to do so, you're going to get the end of the string and put it into the ring on the centerpiece. I then you're going to make sure you squeeze the beats tight together and get the leftover string here. And you're going to need about one inch like that. And could tie or not. So from there you're gonna get you're not nodding tool, not tired. And you're going to put it around like this. And, and from there you're going to wrap, wrap it around your tool and make sure you overlap it with the other string. So you're going to tie this around about three or four times. And after that, we're going to bring it over to the top here and pass it through the hollow portion of your tool. Fetal have a totally can wrap it around a pencil, then slide it the pencil off. Then put it into the round hole that you make after you slide the pencil off. Okay, So putting that in there, slide the tool off. And from there you can pull the string on both ends here. Tight, too tight and you're not. Okay, So you tighten the knot and all you need to do now is cut off the excess string. Okay? And there you have it. Here, completed. Rosary. 7. Final Thoughts: All right. There you go. You have completed your first rosary. And you can go ahead and mix and match the style of bees that you want to put on her rosary. You might get different beads for the solo beads here. Or you can get a different style of bead for each decade. It's up to you. We can create the way you want it and you can make it as, as colorful as you want. And I hope you enjoyed this class and thank you. And if you have any questions, let me know.
