1. Introduction and Supplies You Will Need: Hi, friends. How are you? I hope you're having a great day today. I'd like to introduce you to this project. This is a drawing and watercolor painting project, and it is designed, especially for kids. You do not need to have any drawing or painting experience at all to be successful with this project. I will take you step by step through all the steps you need to take. Today we are going to be creating this cute bear holding a heart. Let's talk about the supplies and the materials that you will need for this project. The first thing that you'll need is a piece of watercolor paper. You will need some watercolor paints and a bowl or a cup with water. You will need a paintbrush, and you will need either crayons or oil pastels and a paper towel. So go ahead and collect all of those supplies and materials, and I'll see you back here in the next video. 2. Step 1: Draw a Bear and Hearts: In this step, we are going to draw our design. So let's get started. I'm going to use my oil pastels, so I'll set those crayons aside. So let's find the color brown in our set of oil pastels or crayons. Your set might not look exactly like mine, but just do the best that you can. Find the brown or if you can't find a brown, find a black or any dark color. So the first thing that we're going to do is we're going to draw our bear's face and head. So let's get started. Find the middle of your piece of paper and go up just a little bit from the middle. And what we're going to do is we're going to make a line that looks like this. It's like an upside down U, but it's more squared, right here and right here. That's going to be the side and the top of our bear's head. Let's give him some ears so he can hear. And those are just going to be some curved lines. And then inside those curve lines, let's add a little bit of detail, which would be another curve little line. Okay. Now what we're going to do is we're going to make some paws that are going to hold onto a big heart shape. And what we're going to do to make those paws is this attached to this line right here and this line right here, we're going to make a U that's upside down into the side a little bit like this. So let me show you that again. So we want to make sure it touches this line. So we come up, and we come down like a diagonally shaped Then we're going to give him some paws. So those are just some zigzags, zigzag line. Now what we're going to do is we are going to come out from the very bottom of these lines, and we're going to make the bottom part of our bear's body. So we're going to come down with a straight line, not touching the ground and do the same thing on this side. And then we're going to make some feet for him. So a line coming in, a line coming in, a line coming up, a line coming up, and a line coming over, and we're going to close up that shape. So there's the head and the face of our bear, and this is going to be the body. All right. Now what we're going to do is we are going to go up to the face, and we're going to make a few lines. We're going to make his nose area. So a line about in the middle of his head. And then we attaching those two ends of the line. And then let's put our brown oil pastel or crayon away. So now we're going to create a heart right here in the middle. I'm going to choose red, but you can certainly choose any color that you'd like. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to come down between these two paws and I'm going to make a very small dot. That's going to be the in between part of my heart where those two lines meet. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to go from that dot, curve up, and then I'm going to touch this hand of my bear, and I'm going to do the same thing on the other side with a curve line. This is going to be the top part of my heart. Now that I have the top part of my heart, I'm going to follow that line down and around, and I'm going to bring it back down here to a point on either side. So now we have our bear holding our big heart. I'm going to put my red oil pastal away, and I'm going to finish with some details inside my bear. So I think for his cheeks, I'm going to use some pink. And I'll fill that in with some pink when we start painting. And then for his eyes, I think I will use some black. For his nose, I'll use some black as well. And then I want to make a little bit of detail on his tummy. So I'm going to use a different shade of brown, maybe this lighter brown. So what I'll do here is I'll come up and then I'll come down here. Like this, like a little patch of brown. There we go. Now what I'm going to do is I'm going to go to the outside of my drawing, and I'm going to add some more details. I'm going to pick up my red oil pastel again, and I'm just going to make some hearts with my red. The reason why I chose the red is because I wanted to choose the same color as this red. But of course, you can choose any color that you like. Now I'm going to fill in my red hearts with a little bit of detail. So I think I'll use some green. And I'm going to just put some patterns on the inside of each heart. So I have some dots here, some light green dots. On this one, I'll put some lines. And I'm just going to go around to these smaller hearts, and I'm going to add patterns on the inside of those hearts. Alrighty friends, I'm finished adding some patterns onto the inside of each of my small hearts. When we come back, we will start painting our design. I 3. Step 2: Paint the Design: In this step, we are going to paint our design. So let's get started. The first thing that we're going to do is we're going to add a drop or two of water to each pan of paint. And what this will do is it will soften up the paints a little bit. It will dissolve the paints so that they are ready for us to use. So I'm going to go ahead and take a moment to do that. Here we go. Alright, let's turn our attention to our drawing. So we have a cute bear with a big heart with more hearts on the outside of the drawing with patterns inside. So there's a lot going on here. I encourage you to get creative with this project, use the colors that you'd like to use. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to first paint my bear, and I'm going to paint him brown, and he's going to be a lighter brown, so I want to make sure that I mix quite a bit of water in with my brown paint. And then I will just start painting away, and I'm going to just add more colors and more paint as I go. And I'm just going to focus right now on the bear, and I'm also going to focus on the hearts. I'm not going to focus on the background at this point. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to speed up the video, and you can watch me. And then when we come back, you can get started. Alrighty friends, when we come back, we will start painting the background. 4. Step 3: Paint the Background: In this step, we are going to paint the background, and I'm going to paint his nose black at the very end. So I've decided that I am going to use blue to paint the background, and I'm going to go ahead and work on that. I'm going to try to be very careful and not go over my lines to get into my other paint colors. Alrighty, friends, I'm finished, and I'm really happy with the way that my cute little bear turned out. I hope that you had fun with this project. I will see you next time. H.
