1. Introduction: Hello everyone, welcome to this beginner friendly crochet course. In this class, we'll be creating a beanie is simple and quick project that's perfect for those new to crochet team. I have a fondness for crocheting beanies as they are not only fast to make, but also look fantastic, especially as gifts for your loved ones. Check out some of the beanies I made in different colors for Christmas. In my previous class, I covered the basics of crochet for absolute beginners and tough you how to create your first project, a scarf. A student of mine had the idea of making a matching beanie. And here we are. If you are a complete beginner, I strongly recommend you to watch the previous class first. As you will need to have a basic understanding of crochet to make this beanie. Are you ready? Let's get started. 2. Materials: As previously mentioned, this beanie is designed to match the scarf from my previous class. So we'll be using the same stitch, the half double crochet back loop only. This stitch is great for beginners as it's easy to learn and provides a texture touch to your project. To complete this class, you will need to know how to chain slip stitch and make a half double crochet back loop only. If you are not familiar with these techniques. I recommend you watch my previous class crochet course for absolute beginners. For this project, I'll be using bulky yarn, specifically, less than two bolts of willpower be 100% wool from happy sheep in color 30. But you can use any bulky yarn of your choice. The amount of Yan you'll need will vary based on your size, but you will need around 130 to 180 g or 100 to 150 yd of Yan. If you'd like to use the same yarn I used, you need two bowls of willpower peak. In addition to yarn, you'll need a ten millimeter crochet hook. Caesars will need a tape measure and stitch markers. 3. Making the Beanie: This crochet beanie is made by creating a large rectangle and then seeming the sides to create a tube. When n is change together to form the top and the other end is folded to create the brain. I will demonstrate how to make an adult size large Beanie. But I have provided a chart for other sizes as well, so you can choose the correct one for you. To start. Make a slipknot and chain the number of specified for your size according to the child. For the large adult size, I will be changing 31. Use a tape measure to double-check the measurement as using a different type of yarn might affect the final outcome. Skip the first chain from the hook and insert a half double crochet into the second chain. Continue inserting a half double crochet into each chain until the end. You should have one stitch less than the number of chains you started with. So in my case, I have 30 stitches. Begin the second row by chaining one and turning your work. From now on, you will be working with half double crochet back loop only, meaning that you will be working into the back loop of this teach only. This is the V of the stitch with the front and the back loops. This is the back loop. Insert a half double crochet back loop only into the first stitch of this row, working through the back loop only as I said. If you are a beginner, consider marking the first stitch stitch marker. So you can easily keep track of where the last stage of each row should go. Continue working until the end of the row. You should start noticing that interesting texture of the piece as we skip the front loop. Can you see? This will be my last stitch. Begin the third row by chaining one and turning your work again. Locate the first stage. You identify the back loop and work a half double crochet back loop only into it. Mark the first stitch if desired, and continue with one half double crochet, work into the back loop of each stitch. If using stitch markers always plays the last half double crochet into the stitch by stitch marker. Repeat this pattern for each row. Work a half double crochet back loop only in each stitch. Chain one, turn until reaching the desired height of your rectangle as indicated in the previous chart. In this case, my goal is to reach 19 " achieved through 33 rose. Use a tape measure to double-check the measurement as using a different type of yarn might affect the final outcome, requiring you to add or remove rows accordingly. With our rectangles finished, it's time to form a tube by folding and stitching the ends together. We'll do this by his lips teaching the two ends, making sure the stitches match up. Start by inserting a crochet hook into the first stitch and then into the corresponding first chain on the other side. Slip stitch together, continuing to do so along the row, making sure to work loosely so the hat remains touchy. The same may look slightly bumpy, but that's okay as it would be on the inside of the hat. Later we'll turn the beanie right side out for a clean and tidy appearance. To create the top of the beanie will change the end by cutting the yarn and leaving a long strand. The final result will look like this. Thread, the yarn onto a needle and gathered the top by going in and out through the stages. Pull the young tight. There might still be a small hole at the top which can be closed by using the same thread, that needle. So just go in and out. When finished, not the yarn and wave in the end. Turn the hat right side out and fold up the brain. You're BD is done. 4. How to Change Colour: Now I'm going to show you how to change color lengthwise. First of all, decide where you want to change colors. Keep in mind that the lower part of the beanie will be folded. So if you'd like something like, I did consider working two-thirds of the beanie in one color and one-third in the other. Count how many chains you need to work in one color. And when you reach that number, switch yarn while keeping a tail that you will later waiting inside your work. Do not cut the old yarn as you'll keep switching from one to another as you work, work the first row as usual. And when you arrive at the last chain of that color, yarn over, insert your hook and pull up a loop. You now have three loops on your hook. Now, drop that color in front of the word and use the new color to complete the stitch. Just as you would with the old color. Continue working with a new color until you reach the same spot on the next row. Again, when you arrive at the last stitch of that color, yarn over, insert your hook and pull up a loop. You now have three loops on your hook. Now, drop that color in front of the work and use the new color to complete the stitch. Continue working with a new color until you reach the same spot on the next row. Keep working in this manner until you reach the desired width of your rectangle. 5. How to Make a Cute Pom Pom: If you'd like to add a cute pump palm to your beanie. Here's a simple method to do so. You'll just need your fingers, some yarn and a pair of scissors. Take the yarn and place the tail and facing you. Wrap it around your three fingers, making sure to wrap tightly and consistently. The more times you wrap the yarn, the thicker and fluffier your palm, palm will be. I wrap it 100 times. When you are satisfied, cut the yarn on the same side where the beginning is. Carefully. Remove your fingers. Making sure not to let the tide center and Ravel and cut a piece of yarn about 6 " long. Tie the yarn in a tight double or triple knot around the centre of the raft yarn. Making sure the knot is tied and secure. Use a pair of scissors to trim the loops on either side of the North, making sure to keep the tide center intact. Finally, fluff the pump bomb and trim any stray yarn to make it round. To attach the palm, palm, insert your hook, crochet hook through the center of the beanie, slightly to the left, grab the yarn tail of the pump on and pull it through. Then insert the hook through the center again, this time slightly to the right, and grab the yarn, pull it through, and tie a double knot on the inside of your beanie to secure the Bumppo. Finally, wave in the tails. 6. Outro: Thank you for joining me on this journey. I hope you learned a lot and are now able to create your own unique projects.
