1. Meal Planner Intro: Hi guys. So mixed costs, we're going to be quite a few plant generator that will help you've been misled meals that you can eat everyday from mom. So just as you think and this one was shot feeds the Roman, you refresh the page. It will just randomly, randomly slide the meals four-year until you find a coalition that Yik overhead in the breakfast, lunch, and dinner tabs. This is where will the data or the meals that you want to eat, and then it'll all work out and put it together in this overview tab. And I'll show you how to do that so that you can create is not this v itself, because it takes off their immediate Steve's or one should follow steps. I'll teach you in this course.
2. Excel Basics: Hi guys it. So in this lesson, I'm going to be showing you some of the basics to use Excel. The overhead you've got awake she and touch, not the one. You click the plus icon to delete. Yes, you'd right-click and click delete name. I will double-click on it and type in why I wanted to call it, which is going to be January to June. The age of these little boxes that are called cells. And you can work out the cell reference by looking at the column letter undrawn, which are both highlighted. So this will be i ten and is displayed in the left-hand corner over here. Now, I can type in text to say hello or numbers. Oh, both text and numbers. I can highlight all the cells in the spreadsheet by pressing control and a, or by clicking this point over here. And I can make changes to the font size, the font style. I can make it in bold, italics or underlined. I can also press Control B for bold, italics or IV underlined. I can have all three. If I want. Over here, I can create a color for the background of the cell, which is yellow. I can choose any other coliform here. But notice that y is different to the no fill option. And that's because it gets rid of those lines on the outside. So I'm going to change packs, no fill. So it looks like an animal cell. I could style the color of this one to light blue or any of these other colors. I'm just going to delete all these by precedent. Or if I made a mistake, I can press control zed for undue or control y 32. And it's the same with these arrows. Undo, redo. And we'll show you how to copy text. So if I press control and say, I can then paste this over here and it will remain in the same place as it was before. I can use right-click, copy, right-click, and paste them. If I want to move this from this cell to another cell, I would press Control X or right-click, and then I would paste it over here and it removes it from its old location. I can resize the shape of the cells and the rows. If I was to insert a new row by right-clicking and insert, it would copy the properties of throwable. Whereas if I take one down here, it would just be normal because this one was adjusted. The following is also adjusted. If I was to close in yellow and I added, insert a column, this would also be yellow. Now I'm just going to delete all of this. Quick way to get rid of any authors. Slugged. All right-click until he. Now over here is the function bar, and this displays the exactly what you type now in the cell is just bigger and sometimes easy to work with. So type our function used equals button, prefers reads number, so we're going to use 56. So if I type out equals here, I would use this cell reference. Add this cell number of sour foods equals 11, and that adds up those two numbers. And if I change this number to seven, it automatically calculates it. Now to do a subtraction, I would have to change this to the dash minus sign, and that will give me m. So F1. Now to multiply the two numbers, I would use the star sign. And for divide out if I double-click into a double-click into the cell, I can also edit it. And for dividing, I would use the slash. Now if I want to merge two cells together, such as this and this, I will press this button hip merge. And it just makes the two cells into one. And they also wanted to pose to center the text in the center and to onMeasure. I've pressed the same button again. If I wanted to merge a large area like this and start typing. And I hit Enter. You can see that I put the text in the middle, top, bottom, left, or I just wherever I wanted it to go really.
3. Creating Breakfast Table: I'm gonna start by creating the first tab, by reading the sheet to breadth-first. And because there are ten different things, I eat my breakfast, I'm gonna write down the number from one to ten and equipment here, and this is right now a few numbers such as 123. Highlight them all in the bottom right. If you click that button and drag it down until the number next week goes on me once I want to get some return. So that's number ten and I let go. It obviously fills out the rest of the numbers for me. And so what we're doing now is n to the ten items I would leave about first. And I've already got them written down. So I'm just gonna copy and paste them. You can just change them to be whatever you wanted to be. And I'm just gonna click in-between Celsius to make the column width much the text size. Now start crate natural table. I'm going to shrink this cell down a little bit because I need space for one number, which you'll see in the next video. And I'm going to write out the first day of the week, which is Monday. And then I'm just going to press tab to go to the next cell. Choosed a, just like before. We're going to highlight them and drug it till it gets to someday. I just need to copy this cell and make a gap in between each of the days. So if I click so a copy, go to Insert copied cell and actually do that for all the days. I've got press copy in between after every time I paste it. So it's copied. Control-c, Right-click, Insert, copied, Control-C, right-click, insert, copy it, control c, and so on and so on until the old. Now you can see that for some of the cells that Wednesday and the text is crossing over. So what we're gonna do is highlight all these days Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. What we're doing is by herding them all, I'm gonna make them all bigger by the same amount. So all I will do is just click on any one of them and drag it. And then they would all increase by that much. And big enough. I can see them all on the same screen like this without him scroll left or right. So with that, I'm going to highlight all the cells by clicking this button here, making them all size 12. And I want these to be in bold, just so the standout. So I'm going to do is press Control B for bold. As you can see over here, we'll make them in pink, which is this cool hair. Or you've done from a new spreadsheet, you click More Colors and the stack clothing, you'd press release. We size 14. Underneath there is where we have our number. So I'm just going to highlight all these cells, merged them just so it looks me and press, we will type in we rather. And I want this to be in bold as well and size to two challenges to type in. These size 14. Yes, I do it. So this will be an orange juice was a bit different. And what we're gonna do now is copy or rather not. We're going to copy these ones and paste it from week to week three and week four. And Stuart up chains up to E two. This will be week three. Week four. And now if I slept the whole table from still create a nice little border by pressing this button here and selecting all borders. So now I've got a nice table and I just need to input the data, which I'll do. Wanna talk about the formulas.
4. Adding the Formula: So we're going to build connect using T formulas, the run between and VLookup. So stuff with define between any formulae, de-luxe, I'll blow stuff with equals. So we'll put equals earned between. And as you see, it's popped up there. So I'll just type run between brackets. And I'm going to choose a minimum number and the maximum number that running into the range I want it to be. So looking over here, I've got from one to ten of all the one comma ten close brackets and we'll hit Enter. It gives me a random number. If I press F9, that refreshes that. So and as you can see, it gives me a different number every single time. Now to see the VLookup, I want to know what meal number five is. And as you can see, it's a smoothly, but I need the cells automatically for me. So if I press equals v lookup brackets, now the number that I want to look up is this number, whatever that may be. Calmer. You need to put a comma after every bit of information, Maxwell. And as you can see here, is, it's asking me for the table. So the table suffers from this cell Colon and it finishes in this cell. So I'm looking at in this range. And I wanted to tell me what the second column is. So in this first column, and I wanted to tell me what it says in the second column. So I'll press number two, close bracket. I want to press it. You can see Canada ones host, which is correct. And if I do it again, gives me number three, which is we erect, and that's correct. So I'm gonna do is just copy this into here. Now, as you can see, it's giving me for free, which is correct. And when I look in there, as you can see, that the table has moved down. And that's because when I move myself of Hamlet Copy Paste Formula and moved it down to yourselves. And so now it's moved it down to cells O'Hare software, but not from happening. One, it is going to this formula and put dollar signs around E and for and what that does is it locks in and not the, sorry, I need to do the B2 to see 11 basically where the table is and that those locks in the table. So no matter where I've copy paste my formula to always look in this table over here. So if I hit Enter and now if I copy and paste it, and you can see that the formula is still looking at this table, which is exactly why I one. And if I just copy and paste this down here, down here, now, just need to copy across into all the other weeks. Some real quickly. Just using control C, control V. Just using arrows to move down and right. Although you could also use enter and Tab to move down, right? Once I've finished with this, I'm just going to make my console a bit bigger so that the writing is easier to read, is not crossing over into the next Bell cell. So to do this, I'm just gonna highlight I only want the cell with the taxon, so I'm gonna hire only cells. And I'm just gonna make them all bigger all at once by the same amount. So if I just go, this should make more bigger. That's not big enough. So just going to make it a little bigger. Realistically, I could go all the way up to the edge of screen as long as you can see everything on there. So I'm just going to do that. So now all the data, all the texts in the cell, and I can see everything without going to scroll to off to the right.
5. Adding Lunch: Now we can create and launch tab. And what I'm gonna do is right-click this. And I'm gonna copy it. Will create a copy. And when I do that and you can move it to the end, we're gonna rename this to lunch. And now I'm just going to add some more, some more meals, just so we write xi. So if I just cut, oops, if I just slept and click this button, the button I, and just drag it down until I get 20. And i'll just delete these meals because doesn't have all gonna have for lunch. We're going to eat something different. And just for argument's sake, I've just written a list of takeaways. So I'm just gonna copy and paste this list. Obviously you won't eat. You might not eat takeaways every day for lunch. Or this is just an example on obviously your slept the meal that you want wherever CSU. So what need to do now is changed the formula, because obviously we've just got one tell anymore. We've got wants 2020. Then ultimately changes the local because Israel kappa top ten, top ten numbers. But as you can see, number 11 is not larger. But last because that's the last one, it goes up to number ten. So I should say Taco Bell. So to do this and just change the formula. So as you can see, c 11 is where it thinks the table finishes, but actually it's not, is now C21. So for typing c 21, you can say it now gives us the full table. And if I press F9, and if I press F9, you see the one at the top left. We'll just keep on refreshing the correct items bought. The other numbers don't follow the rules because they all go from one sand. So if I copy and paste this formula into the cells like we did previously, which now give me an accurate representation of all the meals I want to choose from. So copy paste. When we go to create the data, the data tab, I'll show you a quick way of how to copy and paste it, which is basically what we'll do. We'll just do one time, do the fishery, copy it, and then we can just copy it for the second, third, fourth week, which is a bit quicker. And I'll show you that when we go to create it in the tub. And that's how we feed another tab in about five seconds. Because once we set the first 13 in the second, second, third, fourth subs. But just as easy or easier rather. And the reason is easy is because we've done hardware first time around and nobody even copying and pasting it. But changing afib is.
6. Adding Dinner: So now we're gonna create the genotype. And again, I'm just going to copy and paste this launch tab. So if I copy, we'll move it to the end, create a copy. And I'm gonna call this one dinner. What we're gonna do is just to L0 plus ten. I'm just going to delete these items here. And I've already got a list of ten items I've had before. So I'm just going to copy and paste them. But again, you can just change them to be whatever you want to be wherever you, if you didn't, you can have more than ten must Intel is up to you. And again, what do you do now is just change the formula. So I'm gonna do x0 that tend as we want ten items and change the table. I could leave the table as well. I'm just going to change just because we don't need those action rose. Unless you add something, then you will deter, change it to whatever. If I want to add another item, I would then just change this formula to equal 312 rather than C 11. Like I mentioned in the previous video, I'm just going to copy and paste the formulas for equality only. And that we're not done this, I can just copy and paste them down. So what we do know is highlight this whole row. I just did that by holding down chair, clicking reversal, holding Shift, and clicking the right arrow until I got to the end of click, paste it. Paste, paste. You can say that this is one and the table is B2 to see elaborate, which is what I want. And that was luck. And copy and pasting two-thirds are time. So now we've got, I didn't want to come back first. What we need to do now is create the over you'd have. So it's easier to see all three of them up.
7. Create Week 1 Overview: Now we're going to create the overview tab and I'm going to open up a new she leave it to the front and tie pin over. Now, I'm going to start off by sapien out the days of the month or day three, which is one day, tuesday. And I'm just going to use this little shortcut by highlighting first and then dragging out until we've got Sunday overhead, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This also shows what we're going to be on that day. So I'm going to do is highlight these. And if I hold Control, I could highlight these as well at the same time. Someone to make them all bound. And size 14. After just a justice self-worth to make that bigger. Well multivariate data with all the cells and center the text just so it looks a little bit better. Now I want to see too, I want these all to be bigger. So they take up the width of the screen. See, it's just a bit bigger easily treat while still being able to say column one, tiny bit smaller. There we go. And do color this in black because you don't need this last boater block. First, we'll color in yellow. Breakfast, lunch. We will do a nice screen and dinner. Who would use a blue color? These? Hook them in pink the days of the week. And then I'm just going to highlight these cells above it. Merge them together. And this will be the month name. So we couldn't be in September, which is what I'll call just gonna make this bold and 16 close in orange. And we go. Now what I'm gonna do is just these and give it a BFA border just stands out. All borders. That is exactly what I wanted, although I have missed one thing. And that is the week number. So if I insert row here, and then if I highlight all of these, merge together, and I'm going to call this Week one. And this will also be bold. And size 13, we'll give it. There we go. That's what I need for the first week. And in the next lesson, we'll go three weeks, 234.
8. Add Week 1 Data: Before we get into Ukraine, weeks 234, the day year or the table for week one, and then LGBT to copy and paste at the end. So what is in the first tab for Monday Breadth-first, we're gonna press equals. I'm going to get this data from the breakfast tab. And it will come week one, Monday. We click that cell and press Enter. This will copy whatever is in that one sources of colored host. If I refresh, it, says toast. Now looks from assessed host. And we're just going to copy and paste this for the other days of the week. But the quickest way of doing that is by putting dollar, some dollar signs around that. And that's the cell doesn't change because as we go one cell to the right, this will look once off to the right of this, which is this number, and we don't want an actual item, so you have to revisit two-thirds of craft. Now, way I'm gonna do this is just by quickly highlight in the mall. And then what you do is change this number because as you change the slow, because if you click on this cell, click off. You'll see I need to go from F to H four, H four, J4, l four, and so on. So what militaries overview tab. Click back on the cell and change this to an H one. Then I'm gonna do is we just want to a j, j for a B, C D E F G H I J K L. This is L M N O P Q R. So now this has fruit we freak for coffee. Free, free, free coffee. Greek, aka toast. Greek, hug, and toe. So everything matches up 20 says down there on the worksheet. And so what I'm gonna do is do the same for lunch, so forth equals lunch. Just KFC hit Enter or propaganda as it changes every time you refresh it. And if I just copy the cells, you can see it'll give me the number which is white in one. So that's why after the dollar signs in which bomb really do toll signs and then should be the same as the one that. So as I move this across, so this will be h, J, l, l, and p. And let's just enter without typing. So that's why the error message Campbell. And so the lasagna for dinner, whichever taller signs again. And then just copy and paste it across. And again, plus step is just change the J L N P. So now we will look at creating weeks two to three unfold.
9. Weeks 2 - 4 Overview: Now in the final lesson, we're gonna look at quick weeks 234. And we're gonna do that simply by just cutting and pasting week Kwan and make a few alterations. So first week to week three and week four. Now which can change the names of here. And you'll notice that every time I make a change to the spreadsheet, it refreshes. That's one way to refer spreadsheet. So now let's just change these formulas. And quality databased changed this to the number six. I'm going to do is obviously particularly one line at a time. So for Poland it is just pressing Tab, click into a delete six tab o and doing and needs to do this for all of them. And the reason I'm doing the number six is if you look on the breakfast one for example, is it goes from b LFO down to F6, which about one, week two. And then when I get to week 34, I'll be using but he in ten. So this is quite easy, but just quite monotonous rarely. The reason those RMS is because I enter without parsing or hit top without pressing a number. So the formula is incomplete, which would mean it would have mics. And now I'm in week three and I need to use them. But so once you've done all of this, this is the end and you'll have a fully-functioning run them food and meal-plan generate whatever you wanna call it. And this will just make you feel, I feel a little bit easier, hope really mean shop thinking about what you can to make sure if you're a little be plugged up foia. Last week, weekend before this will be number ten. Almost. No. Don't do that. After I finish this over unless there's one more thing we can do now is just to make the size a little bit bigger for the actual test cuz the text, because I've noticed Islam size 11. So we can make up to size 12. So what we'll do is just highlight these by holding down the Control button. Stories can reach all summer ones, these and make them a little bit bigger just so they sent out a bit more savior obviously after you don't. And then you can just print this out and stick it wherever you want. Bill, is how we create our own demise.
