1. Blazing Overview : Yo, what's up with you? Welcome to our course meal, Jonah. Check. Just call me out. I'm here in my room with simple studio settle. Do what I love to do most in this world. Exactly. Making beats best part you want. I don't need all that extra stuff to be considered professional. All you need is a durable laptop, inexpensive quantity speaking on quality and says, if you want to write down, should be able to hear my new beat planet Background is over. What you think you kind of beach you want, right? If you said no, that's fine, too, because you're not here to create you have your own stuff. That's what I'm interested in here. But first I gotta help your skills so that even if you stop, I'll let you use selective hearing from our voice on this part. I will go over every single thing you should expect to be in this beginning, of course. But before that, a little bit about me. Obviously, I'm ahead. Pop producer. Florida Born and raised. I'll be using FL since really studio seven years. This I go to school for no mentor. No course YouTube wasn't popping and you took two years old. Can I know? Starting off. So you haven't given up? Really? Repeat, everything I know is from the ground up a real quick shots off producers, artists and creatives that I work. And I really appreciate you guys now releasing this fl Studio beginner's course. Because I know some of you watching right now. Could really And at the end of the day, I see US producers as a growing family. We can't grow if we don't share the knowledge we have this need. This course is to sections spoiler alert. I'll give you a cell packed up Personally used for free 1st 6 Alexis, I wish I had first opened fl froze. I'm covered. All deduce adults in the ins and outs off the FL studio in any unnecessary I want money for you, that's all. That should just go through it yourself. Find out last section. This section right here is why you care to enroll in this course. This sexual right here has the skill set that beginners need. Are you still trying to find this is produce? It is easy. First you gotta learn number one. Still get that separates all beat makers. After that, it's all happened twice, producing the next see one inside peace 2. Pointers: you know what's up? What's up? Welcome to the point is lecture. Let's get started now. Here are a few pointers that I would like to give you in this little lecture here, right here. These are also tips and tricks that you could keep in mind these air stuff that I use personally while making beats as well. No, here's one thing in the demo. You cannot save your work now. You can not just make a beat and in just save your work and then try to come back where you left off because the devil the only way I can say you come coming back been saving your work, is let's say, Let's say I may be here and I have the demo and I don't wanna lose this. The only thing I could do here is minimize this and then don't ever exit out of the NFL studio. If you have something in progress, just minimize it. Then whenever you're busy or do whatever you need to do, you come back to this and you have everything here. The only way you could save your work is clicking File Export wave or MP three files like I said wave or MP three. I don't touch these because these are unnecessary. So Wave and MP three file these the only prominent and necessary flowers that I save my working when it comes to making beats. Now, another day, the CPU load history right here. What this really does is trucks out how much noise you have within your beats. Let's say I could have a lot of sounds. I have 24 35 sounds. It doesn't really matter this this right here. A Z could see numbers went up right? If you have a lot of sounds playing into a pattern, this will literally scoot to the side in the number will rise up. If it goes red, then this is bad, and that means that you have too much going on. And that's not good, because they could fuck up the sound of your beat. Now, another thing. If you're trying to use FL Studio and another program at the same time, let's say you're on YouTube trying. Teoh, watch a video and you have YouTube and you have FL Studio Open and you can't really hear anything on YouTube. It's because this is on and you could fix that by clicking options and then audio settings . You look this input output device right here. Okay? If you can't hear anything outside of FL Studio when this has turned on its because this osteo for all or fl studio osteo drive is on now, in order to fix that, the computer itself already have a few sound cards or sound devices. Now, if you click on here sound devices that's within the computer here. Now you can go back to you to go and refresh the page. And now you'll hear everything again. Now you can function the sounds of both things at the same time. Now you can make a beat here and then pause and then go back to YouTube and then try to get whatever you working with now, these air The Pointers. See you in the next lecture. Peace 3. 7basics: Yo, what's up? What's up? This is the seven basics. Now let's get started. Now. This is the hint bar. What this does is tell you the names of each button you put your mouth on, as you can see here, I'm just wandering around with the mouse and and I look at the hit bar and then tell you whatever you put in your mouth on now, not only it does that. It also gives you the number, or should I say percentage of each adjustment you want to make to your knobs? As you can see here, I'm twit. I'm turning knobs left and right, and I see percentage. Now, this is important because if you're trying to make a certain beat and you want a certain level or percentage over volume at a certain sound, then this is where it comes in handy instead of you second guessing your adjustments. Now here the plane stop buttons. Now pay attention to this little circle right here. This is just gonna glide here and go back to the beginning. The difference between those two right here right is the stop button will bring the be all the way back next basic time, Merrill. This functions within the platelets. Now let me turn to sequence or off. Now, this right here is the playlist, and I will be teaching you more about this in the plainest lecture. Now, let me make a little session. They just like to show you what it's time Ero does. Now, if I press play, as you can see, there's this green line. This is playing within the session. Now this scrolls automatically. When this is on, when it's off, it doesn't. Now, let me show you something. Then when the timer Aero is on, it'll just scroll by itself. As you just saw. I wasn't touching the mouse. It just did it by itself. If this is off, it's just going to leave the screen as you just saw. Then I'm gonna have to adjust the scroll bar or really keep up with this green line. Next basic is the time. As you could see, this tells you how long your session is. As you could look at the time of year as I scroll here, it tells you how long your session is, and it also tells you where you are within the session. Next basic is the monitor. Let me turn the secrets and back on so I could show you Now make a little pattern Talk to show you how to what this does. What this does is show you the frequency and wait form of a certain sound. Let me play this year, As you could see, little waves are going up and down within this little square. And this shows you a little box version of what? The sound. Maybe last but not least, here's the health, but it's your second Google with NFL studio. Well, all right, there's this seven basics you in the next election piece. 4. 9 Tools: you know what? So so is the night to his lecture. Now let's get started. This is the magnet. I don't use this much because I used what I always used to call Superman. Now these two are very similar. As you see, I will be teaching you more about super magnet in my future tutorial. But for now, keep the magnet at its default setting. Here is the draw tool. Here's the painful. I used to work the same way. But using the draw tool, you can scatter your patterns here Their previous You can move him as well. Same with brush tool. No difference between you two is with brush tool. You can lay down patterns in the track. Drank. Now here is the delete tour. In self explanatory, you can delete Thetis wave deleting takes on this. Now here's do you want to do when he's a shortcut. You wanna right click of your mouse over what? You want to be easier now? Oh, this is a reminder that you have the devil basically trying to get you by the full version . Now this is mutual. What this does is mute pattern. You can also do you commute individually for you. Now here's the magnifying. But you could do here is assuming on each pattern. Yeah, something you click again when you're zoomed out. Now here's the playback for playback. Tool does is play back a certain part over clip that you want to hear Not for example, immediately. All of these like to show off song produced for somebody. So show you how this works. Yes, I was doing that. Produced that song I'm not going to sing in case you're wounded. That's tour is this is basically your history. This shows you everything you're using with the session use it and nine tools to you the next lectures piece. 5. Step Sequencer: Yo, what's up with sub? Welcome to the step sequencer. I'm going to show you what it is, how it works in what it does. Okay, have your fun. Now, let me tell you about these knobs right here. These are the volume knobs. Okay, Now, these little dots right here, these green dots are the mute solo buttons. Okay, Now, if you want to hear this, only the kick trying here that only turn everything else off. If returnees off, you won't hear these. And you could only hear this. Now, here's a shortcut. If Teoh if you want to make life easier now, you can right click the kick light and click solo. Everything's turned off and you could only hear this. Now, if you wanna undo it, you can right Click it again. As you can see, there's a check here. This means the solo is active. Now you could click it again. Now everything's back to normal. Now. The reason why this channel rack title is here is because that's what it's originally called. The step sequencer is another word for channel rack, but I call it the step sequencer is because it sounds better than channel wreck to meet now . It also caused the channel rack Destec, the step sequencer in the FL Studio Bible. Which is what I'm gonna be giving you later in the course. No, this little speaker thing. Where? Here, you can play something, click. It is gonna pause. Now, here's the plus sign. This plus sign accesses your V ST's more sounds more sense, More melodies. This is what I'm going to show you later in the course. Don't really have to worry about right now. Now you could extend the step sequencer if you want to make a longer pattern within it or if you wanted to be really sure you could decrease it. This is really adjustable. You could scroll it up, school it down as you could see. Now here's the display filter. There are mainly four sections in this display filter. Only two we see is all unsorted. Unsorted are drums and melodies that you will be playing here in this step sequencer. And there's the audio where if you grab a sample or song or anything is gonna be listed here as well and it's gonna play that, Then there is the automation score where you mix and master and tweak all your stuff. I'm gonna be showing you that later during this course. Now, these knobs right here are the panning knobs. Let's say if I want something in my right speaker or my right headphone, drag my mouse up and it's gonna only be playing in the right. Same thing for the left if I want something to be playing the left. I dragged my mouth down and everything is gonna be playing on the left side, as you can see here. Now, this is the step sequencer See you in the V ST's piece. 6. VST's: You know what? Some of us up here in a V ST's lecture and I'm gonna show you we're PSC's are and how they work. Now, if you could click right here, this is gonna show you most of the fiesty is that you have on display. Now there are two different types would be ST's There are the sound and melody Be ST's Then there are the sound adjusters to split those indifferent Differentiate those two There are the controller Midi dispatcher sampler and the visual Those are all the sound just RVs teas Now the sound vsc our drum miscellaneous sent classic And since special those air all the sound of a STD What I mean by the sound The STD's are the one that contained you playing an instrument. Can you see now using a sound PST? You can do a lot with this. You can use it in the sequencer here, or you can play it in the piano world, for example, in your show. Now, one thing about using V ST's This really can help you out when using your melodies and let me start here by showing you more plug ins. This more plug ins. But no here shows you all these V s teacher here. Plus more than deep inside this inventor, These are all more v ST's. Now let's say I want something that's not on display, but I wanted within the display section I'll just click and check one of them and click manage plug. It's what this does here is the one that I just checked or the ones that I just checked. I can scandals and easily bring them to the display section. Now this is doing a fast can. No, it's already done. These two of the one that was that I just selected to be a ball on display. Now I could makes this out when you click back in here again. Now, boom. These tools are now on display for me. Personally, I used the V ST's that that bring off the sound only I use the sound. VSC is only in the piano room because that's easier. Now the sound editors like these right here I don't use these too much because they're not is convenient to me as the sound v S t. But lucky for you, you're able to distribute difference between sound V ST's and the Sound Editors. Now, this is the V STS lectures. See you in the next lectures piece. 7. Browser: yourself. So looking to the browser, let's get started. All right, One thing about the browser here I call this the drawer. One thing about the drawer here is you can click certain things and there followed, As you can see here in the only two things that I really, really pay my undivided attention to when it comes to checking things in the browser is the Packs folder and the recent follows Focus. Reason why is because things in the Packs folder is what you were really going to use when making beats and in the recent file folder thes Air Things that you already used already dragged in. And if you want to use it again, you could just get in the recent files and use it again. Now one thing I love about the Packs folder is that you can really make your own folder within the packs voted. Let's say you're gonna want your own little sound pack or your little samples or anything like that. You can make your own folder and then put it in here, which is by doing this. Going to your computer drive program falls. Times 86 go to image line Image line is where FL studio is. You click here. Click out from the studio Now, after you click FL Studio, you caught a data. Go to patches. Then you go two packs. You see, this is the same packs photo you see in FL Studio. Now these air all the folders within the PAC Support now from here you click, right click new. No photo. I'll say put loud. Just for convenience. Six. Now I can go back in the FL studio. Right? They asked. I start just over a year. All right, now you could see the loud folder is here. Now. This is the browser. See you in the next lecture piece. 8. Metronome n Tempo: Yo, what's up with some this dimensional in tempo? Now let's get started. Both the Metrodome and Tempo have to do with rhythm and pace. Now, here's dimensional. What it does is make sure that you are on beat and what it also has, which is features. And these air the sounds that you could use in your preference. Now, for example, let me show you. You right, click the Metro norm and then you controls. Okay, Now you get the point. So with the temple, it is the speed or pace off the beat. Now, let me make a beat to show you what I mean. Okay, along with the Metro. No, let me turn it off. Working with the tempo, you can increase it or you can decrease it. No, the tempo also has features, which is the temple tap. What this does is help you find the tempo of a certain song or whatever else you import with NFL Studio. Now let me take all of these out and then show you now I already important a song in here just so I could show you what? What this does. Let me click the way for him Now let me find a triple way. Brought in a friend. Pretty Carlton. Stunts in the mix in the legacies found Ways. Now, as you can see here, dependence on has a 1 45 tempo. Now, if I put it into the playlist If I put this into the playlist, it'll actually match the Metro. No way. As you can see here, this is the mention. Ullman. Simple. See you in the next lectures piece. 9. Patterns & PluginPicker: Yo, what's up? What's up? This the pattern and plugging picker lecture. Now let's get started. So this is the sequence, sir. As you already know now, these little squares in here case you were wondering are the patterns. Now you can also make multiple patterns in the pattern selector. Matter fact you could make infinity. But me as a professional producer used 13. No, Another court thing I like to show you. Here is the plug and picker. What this does is differentiate your pattern and your channels and all. I forgot to show you one thing. These air, the patterns thes air the channels sounds you used to make the pattern. Now let me make patterns to show you what I'm talking about in the plug and picker make about, like five. No going back in the plug and picker. You can also see what patterns you made and you can hover your mouse over him and play the preview. Now you can also have you the candles alone as well. Now here's the thing. The good thing about doing on both is when you hover your mouse over your pattern. You see what channel you use to make your better. Also, here's another court thing about making patterns. You can also make one in the piano road to now. If you exit the piano roll, you'll see that it has a different view. It looks as if you made it in the piano roll as well. Now, after making patterns, you can go in the playlists and then lay him down, which is what I will be showing you in teaching you how to do in the playlist lecture. But for now, I just want to make sure you understood what a pattern and the plug in picker was. That's the parent unplugging picker lecture. I'll see you in the next lectures piece. 10. PianoRoll: yo was good. Yeah, welcome to the piano roll. Not is getting started. First things first, in case I didn't mention the piano has a button you concern off and on as well, including the sequencer, the flameless, the browser and the temper, which is which was taught in the Metrodome in Temple Election. No speaking that a temper in case you were confused in that lecture. Once you direct your song in a sequence, sir, you have to click the way form for the song to play, not the play button. And don't ever put your song anywhere, but in that sequence it because there's no other way. So you put the song in the channel Rack Clinton Channel and click the way form in order to get a better preview. No, Once you start clicking the tapper to get the tempo, tempo is gonna pop up. But as you keep on tapping, Temple will resize automatically. That's a good sign that you're doing something right, and from there you just keep on stepping. Then you'll see what to do. If you are individual learner, gold back to the Metro, Move in Temple lecture and you see what I was talking about. Now in the piano roll, there's these two brushes using the 1st 1 you can lay down your scores and you can move them is freely as well. Now, using the second brush, you can let your scores down, but you cannot move them now. With the second brush, you can meal an unused, but you cannot move them unless you go to the first brush. You cannot mute in a mute with the first breast, and they should go back to the second brush. No, I just wanted you guys to get a gist of these two brushes. That way you could be aware and not get things all fucked up. No, when comes to the sequencer. The default note is a C five. Don't ask me why, because I'm not even sure myself. But it's not a big deal, because you can move those in the piano whenever I see. And plus, you only really need the C five notes for the collapse in high hats. As you get better, you'll find out you'll be rarely using a step sequences. Just pay attention in my future. Kourtney's forces. Sorry about that, and witness as I abused this piano because US producers are always looking for that clean sound. And that C five note will not always have that. Now let me lay down a simple melody in the piano using this BST. And right now I just want you guys to get a gist of using the piano road just the late on it beat. And you guys have the option of just watching me because I'll be narrating what I'm doing. Let me start off by deleting all these people thing here. Teoh here it's besides that way right there and I know it looks like I'm randomly lane he scores down, but the truth is, are betting over the temple ways and I know how this method is going to sound, but that's just from me constantly doing this in the P on the world. And I'm sure you guys will pick up the skill as you get better at use NFL. Now let's see what this sounds like. Uh oh. On one thing also forgot to mention was that me personally as a producer, I only use the first brush and the draw to, and I just stick to that when it comes to laying down my melodies. This right here is the piano roll. See when the next clip peace 11. Playlist: Yo, what's up? So this is the playlist. Now let's get started with the planes. Does is it allows you to lay down your patterns when you're done making them in this sequence, let me show you like I showed you in the last lectures. You can make several patterns within the sequencing, but when you're done funding yourselves for your patterns and you start making your bees afterwards, your beat will be ready for the plane. This you're probably thinking when I'm done making my Bebo, am I gonna lay it down like it's shown in the video? And the answer is, No, you're not because you sound to be all over the place. Matter of fact, I think of it like this. When you listen to a song, it goes left to right. Right now, when you're done making your be, be sure to separate the difference between your versus and hooks. In case you don't know, regular song starts with a hooker verse and ends with verse in hookahs. Well, now I need you to pay really close attention to the next lecture because I'll be showing you a shortcut that'll make label your versus hook really easy while you were in the process of making your beats. Now let me mention that I could easily say that before I make a beat. I already like, know what B is going to sound life or how I'm gonna lay it down in the playlist. Eventually, you guys are going to get to that point as a professional producer. Now, look, if this doesn't make any sense right now, don't worry yourself. Just take your time going through these lectures while following along on your computer, and I promise you it will make much more sense. Now. These are the planus. See you in the next lecture piece. 12. Shortcut Manual: l J Yo, what's up with up? Welcome to the shortcut menu, and I'll be telling you and showing you my little shortcuts not is get started when you want a copy and paste something you always want to get this electoral, for example. These are my late outscores that I want to come. Now we go to the draw to so that we're able to move. He scores free now click control, See to copy and control V to paste. This is useful for doubling up on certain sounds down way. Need to duplicate the same selected scores to extend it, then control be now we got eight bars of fire. All right. Now, this is the part where I need you guys to pretend So we got this fire as trackage is laid down in a plane. This because, you know, way can't lay down tracks in the piano, but it's not yet safe. Now, control s is the quickest way to go about saving. But we got to keep in mind that this is the demo in saving you work as a father. The demo is like trying to win the lottery. So the alternative to that is shift control are this right here will allow you to export the recession as an MP three Or you can export it as a wave by clicking control are what I'm saying now. The space bar could be a convenient play and stop button for you to if it's not already. Now let's refer back to what I was saying about differentiating your hooks and versus in the previous election not to differentiate them. Wanting to add markers with control teeth, I noticed this mark right here called Auto. It would not hover over it. Thes two arrows you see here give the market a lot of mobility. He could move it wherever you need to talk about right clicking it. You could also rename called Oh, and one more thing. This chain right here called the enable note in the hint bar is another select to know about. I think someone you might even find his convenient. This one all right? No, you guys already know how this select tool works. Now let's sign some light on this. Enable Norway literally like when it's flicked on this. We've enabled permission to group The scores were currently working. How by clicking Shift G. Did you see here? The colors change blue and remove it all together. Now you can easily not two birds with one stone by simply clicking, shifting G that will turn it on and group it at the same time as you see warning guys once the scores and grouped in a pattern. It's grouped for good, locked in as long as this chain is on. But if you decide to rotate between the two tours, you'll see that, said scores. Being grouped is not a terrible thing. But do not, I repeat, do not use dismounted on late patterns in the play. This that's a huge no no Onley in the piano roll on scores. All right, so these right here with my frequently use shortcuts hasn't progressed. I'll be hitting the shortcuts real quick. So to me, it's a good idea to just quickly cover them so that no one gets lost ourselves. No, no, no. But seriously, if you knew them already, don't worry about those air, just reminding for what's to come. But if you didn't, that's even better, because now we're all on the same page. Okay, Now go ahead and glide through the last lecture because the next section is what you guys been patiently waiting for. An extremely in depth beat, making basics break them Peace your 13. 7 Unnecessaries: ill was so pure d there. Seven Unnecessary is you should ignore when use NFL studio. All right, now, these are just my opinions. I know some other genre like medium might find them useful, but I personally don't because they're just not as convenient in reliable to my style. And there's your ce I It's only where I'd say you guys what works for me and what doesn't. Okay, now, 1st 1 is his piano clock, right, man? This one right here, so unnecessary. It doesn't even have its own name. Look what it says in the bar. Basically, this is another record button, but a quote like first, take it out if I'm using to record. But what? I gotta do this. Turn it on. You start recording with the space bar and to stop recording it with the space bar. Now, watch. When I turned this, no name on in charge recording with the space bar. Do you want to live? I got a press, some random key on my keyboard to start it. And another random key to stop it. See this? Just rent next lend record. I literally use this like two times ever. You gotta have the intention off gluing two things together. If you plan on using state and you got to be a complete perfectionist, even deal with this tool, I think is more useful. Medium for short. As for hip hop, it's unnecessary because a record like that it is like this. Once you record one take, let me turn this on record one take and decides to record another. Especially if you made a mistake. The 2nd 1 will overlap the first and create this awful mess. Now they must do it again. Now you also need the actual record button in order. Support this plan According to now we got no now got loop recording recording is basically fl studio for dumpers. What I mean is you have to be extremely dedicated to recording the same thing at least 1000 times to get it right. Because somehow you know you mess up first night. That's just 60. I really don't want it. So you guys is painful example? Let me see. Right? Well, yeah, It makes you guys have your record, but not for this to work. Now, right now it's on four bars, right? Okay, this is getting time. You can extend the bars, me and loop by pressing options Project seconds. And but then you'd be messing up the default piano outlook. So let's not even go there going to be able to leave these music. It's all back to channel direct. Okay, now we got this footprint Step editing. Look, this simply terms your steps in scores. In other words, your desktop or laptop keyboard turns into a midi keyboard. When this is on, unless you know how each score will sound of the piano roll. I see this being problematic. Watch this. Notice how we weren't able to hear what we were playing until we played it back. Turn it back on again. So you don't talk about I think quick Number five is the undo redo tool. Pretty self explanatory. But only one does one mistake. Let me show you something quick. I mean, they down some steps in this Tim a wreck? No. You see what I'm talking about right here? This tour has nothing on control Boat Z not personally think this tool should go as far as I needed to, but that's debatable. Another unnecessary is the line content, man. only because there's nothing interesting ever really going on over here that you probably couldn't even get. I'm salty because is this money, huh? In the content library. This is another money hungry online content. Two point. Oh, do Now, if you guys a curious about any of these, for whatever reason, you could reach out to me for the deeper school peace. 14. Timeout: Yo, What's up? Feature producers How you guys feel about the last section? This is a beginner's course. So breaking down every inch of the infant studio interface the best way possible had to be the keeping before we do anything else. Now that that's out the way, there's no limits. I'm making sure you guys are confident to make whatever you want, however you want. I know I can't please everyone at once. When you guys decided to drop refuse, we'll reach out to me. I don't know. Maybe you had something. You were looking for it personally but didn't find it real quick. Let me take the time to thank you guys. Thank you all for putting up with me and investing in your skills by taking this courtroom . I put lots of time in this course, and I appreciate you putting the same amount of energy to go through it. Now. The reason I'm on this platform right here is to make sure you guys learn everything the best way possible because my options as a passionate producer, we're limited. Aziz Muchas I know about producing. It's hard not to throw everything at once on you guys in 30 minute lectures. So when I'm a collection, I think about it. Like if I was starting off, What are the main things that need to know To get comfortable fl and to get where I am now . So if I didn't teach something you were expecting expect that something to be in my next course? I plan to be extremely detailed with everything I teacher without overwhelming, long boring, an excessive info. Instead, the info I give you is just right. That way you could practice your skill one step at a time. Okay? Now, this is where you get my personal sound pack that we're going to use in these lectures to make a trap. Be once you downloaded the PAC. Put it in a new photo like I sold during the browsers lecture. Now, if you're not able to download the pack under this cliff, send me a message in the discussions or email me at LJ on skill, sir, at gmail dot com under the subject name, Game time. Send me blazing. Then I'll respond with the pack within the out Peace 15. VST n PianoRoll: ill with some puts up. I'm happy you made it this far into the lectures were done learning the basics. Now it's time to finally learn how to make professional based beats step by step. Now, before we start, I want to quickly go over the V STS. It makes you guys have everything you need to follow along. No. Remember that mentioned you confined your V ST's here, right? What I didn't mention was that each sound BSC has a preset folder where you could find your sounds seen, right. Think of it like this. V S t is like a warehouse storing its own unique sounds. But for some of these V s tease, the cells won't always come from the presets photo. Instead, you have to browse around the PST until you find a sound bank or a sound name. You can either click the sound bank to pull up all the sounds. Poor locate two arrows like these right here in Just switched through sounds. By the way, I decided to make a trap beat for this guy. But everything you learn, we'll apply to any other style. Okay, now, first things first. Look at the browser and open the packs Voter to your left. You should have this pack sported that I gave you with these eight sounds. Okay, you guys ready? Follow along with what I'm doing. Clearly replaced more. Okay, This sound named glass right here is called a stock Sound the terms pretty self explanatory . No, I didn't include this in the pack simply because I wanted us to find it manually. We'll be doing a lot of that in the future course, So get yourself comfortable. Now that we got our first melody. We need to find our first note for score Source. European Road. Let me tell you something that's basically second nature toe. All professional producers thought you got to keep in mind that you no longer have to think about that is the first note or score that you put down is the second most of Courtney notes to choose listener here. The first note represents the sound you pick is the foundation to the rest of the scores. That will come after Now. Watch me right now. I gotta look for something that resonates with this sound that I choose So really, my form jet. Okay, this is it for me not pay close attention? Because each note after the 1st 1 must complement each other and or one another. You let that Thank you, ladies last. Yeah, not me. Okay, now let's listen. Toe. OK, now you all remember me saying the first note is the second most important, right? Well, here's the first most important. No. Consider it the last note. The most important because it's the finisher. It sets the tone for the rhythm to restart and is the last sound you most like me here in any song without going to in depth understanding your octaves, majors, minors and shorts will be your best proof that each note after your first does complement each other and he's great. Highlighted notes signify a new active in yourself or tone level. All the Cesaire, your majors, ironically, there highlighted and knock you. Now you're start Are these white spaces We're black bars in between the sharps Come with the pounce on. I'll let you get the miners, but don't let these terms intimidate you. They're relevant to know but won't stop your skills improving If you don't know, this actually makes me think about releasing the keyboard course focused mainly on all the aspects of the piano. And it's rolling. Be making process. Okay. All that's left now is to duplicate these four bars into a 16 bar. All right, control to Okay, So what we just did. After duplicating these four bars in the 16 Barnes, I decided to make the last four bars unique, which means two things. This is No. This right here is no longer the most important score this is. And two, it's completely find a have 16 bars duplicated all the same. Now, let me show you a quick use it. No, no, no, no. High like this. Control things is fine, too. I want you to be a free choice maker. There's nothing worldwide following everything I do. But I'm encouraging you to have preference, you know, like you can put on like, you can move this hope, but no. Or down a note or octaves. Let me show you. Here, uh, moving up and over. Move this down. A few notes with this up. Okay, so right here at 55 Move this up to f six. Not meaning this down. And are we're already worried here So apply the free choice maker mindset in any other course you decided. Take for me all the Norman. If I had to summarize everything I explained, it would be in three words. Play by ear and everything else is gonna follow naturally, PCR. 16. VST n PianoRoll pt2: Yo, what's up with sup? Er this is our second and last melody. All right? Now you know where this sound came from. No. How about we do the same to the 2nd 1? Right here? First good packs, then go to a legacy Instruments strings Boom case of the guys wondering about the other sounds in the pack. Those are our drums from Collaborate with other producers real quick. Tweet this to about 55 so that the sound is short and doesn't drag. No, um, drag is I light controlled. Be control. Okay, Now let me feel these thes ones. Yeah. Do you? Yeah. No way. That's it. Right there. Not thanks for patiently. Following are I had to actually finish this pattern before I could bring it down. This right here is a court. It's when you play more than one note at the same time. Basically, it's a complete harmony. Now there has to be three or more notes for accord to be laid down. What you see here, three or more also, each note must have a gap leading to the next note. As you can see here to and in the next through the next note. Now this could be played with an actual piano. Really, this is just another unique option when creating melodies and you can move, accord together, up or down a note or active as you please. Oops. Now let's just play this and just tweak it. - Cool now our melodies, their complete. I hope you'll feel more confident in your beat making skills. It's time to start creating this sounds only you're capable of creating from your unique so the all in the last lectures piece. 17. Sequencer n Browser: ill with soap. What's up? Your our memories are doing. So let's pick up right where we left off with these drugs. Consider little Peck. Trump's in start is go, but I do All right. Okay, so I just changed the view of the channel rack to a piano. Rove you And that's something you notice I do a lot. I'm always in the piano room so you'll rarely see me use the channel rack on just drums. To lay down notes is the better option if we're talking quality. All right, now, before I started letting these drums down, I want you guys to know that drums are relevant to your beat, of course, but really, they're just follow ups and supporters in the grand scheme of things. So whatever pounding you decided to create for them depends on your style in the type of beat you're making now. As for your eight awaits and slow bases there just as important as melodies now that ate away is a melody or drone. It depends how you use it. It's the doper in the beat. The sub base is the room shaker in the beat. At least one of those is ideal to use in your drums using none. Man, that says a lot of bunch of drums, and that's a whole lot of bad being said. Now, in this case, we're only using the eight awaits while we're here. Always. And I mean always do this to your eight ways it cleans up your air weight from having that dusty sound. In other words, it keeps it from overlapping. So it sounds crispy and cleared. This is a little bit more advanced, and I do cover in detail in my advanced course, but I guess it doesn't hurt such as mentioned it to you. Okay, now, this right here is the part where I set up. I'm a let the drums talk the rest of the way. Now let's get it data, Wait a little bit. One thing when I lay down eight awaits, I like toe lay him down in a high pitch their way. I like this May benefit. Yeah, Hot metaphor. Let me zoom in, OK D six sharp. All right. I put this all the way down an octave. You know, it's gonna be the fun short. Now, let's see how that sounds now. Uh, just a way. Okay, - Get I'll be here. All this stuff like that sometimes you gotta tweet here. Volumes. That sounds like it. Get it? Good sound. Can I just get these? Hi. I mean, - okay , not time for the snails. Let me see. What? I could do it. - Yes , that was good. Right there with me. One thing I like to do sometimes, too. Whenever making a beat like this, I sometimes take some sounds out so I could get a focus on certain styles that I like to input. Just like this one. I'm from the lay down a kick since I removed the eight await the symbols and the collapse Just just like a focus on this kick, right? - But no, all we gotta do is lay down to be in the planus, and then this whole thing will be complete Peace. Your 18. Laying Down Patterns : Yo, what's up with? So we're gonna lay down these powders. Let's get started now. One thing you wanna keep in mind when laying down your patterns is when you're in pattern one on the sequencing and you have all year you have while you're sounds made into a beat. Now here's what you could do in order to split these toe have their own patterns. You put your mouth slowing the pattern so like they're right here. You right, click it, then click split by channel. It splits every channel into their own pattern, plus in names, each pattern for you. Now that's one less thing you have to worry about whenever trying to split your patterns. Now, as go to the playlist, this is where you lay down your parents. Now, when laying down your patterns, you want to think of it as a song. Think of it as a song. Whenever you hear a song, there's the beginning, and then whatever drops first is either the hook or the first verse. Or however it goes in the same way, ends two ends with a hook or him to reverse. No, we hear so long you wouldn't think of a beginning. You want to see how you can lay it out as a beginning? No, let's try it up now. Which one would you want as a beginning? Ask yourself that way. Alright, guys, I told the glass as my starter sound. I recommend starting your main pattern at two or four bars. Also, for me, this automatically becomes the main melody for this. Be done. Let's start. Wait. What I'm doing right now is created Hook Standard link of a hope is eight boys anything longer than that? Before the first is a bridge. I talk on their blazing to check up. No well, you see me? Lay it out is a beginning than hook. Now here is to tell the difference by adding a marker, adding a marker. You wanna click where you wanted to start? Now here, look on your keyboard. Click the control key. Hold that impressed letter t Now, as you can see here, there's an auto marker right here. You can click right click it and rename it. Hook the boat. Here's house into sound So far, 12. But I draw that pause alone. Just dropped the hook in. All right, let's get to the verse. That was your patrol team. Move it. Yeah, 1st 1 All right. Cool. What would I want? Verse One to sound like. And when it first drops, think time. I'm starting with the string pen idea. Aziz, you know, is to start the first verse. But most importantly, our listeners. No, that is done. I don't know if you noticed, but I remained on the patterns while the pattern motors on with it on you get a preview of what? Having your about three earlier, I think would be as a song I met referred to the songs you listen to and put that same concept into lanes is beat out the way you want thistles. My own tip that I follow structure beats. So these gaps within diverse I was there were worse to explain why, but words were just confusing. More truth is, the more you train your ears, you'll realize certain sounds would sound annoying. Playing excellent bars. Theories. I was in a cell. - Okay , now you hear it and then you want to do Here is if you want the hook to pop back up after the verse. Here's one thing I do I get the select toe? Highlight the whole book. All right. No, to copy it. Click control, See on the keyboard. Now, what this does is after you copied it. You can here what it does, what it does when you paste. It is It's going to post the beginning of the hook right here within these bars. Right here. So now, um, after the f this is after the verse. Now, finally it right here. Control V Control and V is where you paste it. No, you can right click the empty space right here. And Adam, Mark, this is the hook again. That is this house good. This is gonna sound like after the first person. - No , some some producers do this. Where? Where? After the hook comes in, they want to be created. Create creative again, as in as in make another verse and add their own next second verse. Taste into it, you know, But me as a professional producer, this is what I do. In order to get the whole process everything up the way and quickly done. I copied the second verse. All right. I mean, the first person. Sorry. A copy and paste the first verse and make it a second verse again. No. I add my little tweaks and touches into the second verse. I don't just want it to be repetitive. You know, I wanted to riddle some people if they're good listeners, toe beats, whatever. Now, here's how I'm going to do this. Here. No. Click the kick click the It'll make org have a weight. I'm tripping. Click some high. EDS. Now, this is what the second verse is going to sound like after a second hook comes. - Okay , Now you see you. No, I mean, put the hook back after the second verse. Let me tweak some part of the hook. No, this is how you lay down to patterns. See you in the next lecture case. 19. Save Your Work: Yo, what's up with sub? You're going to save your work. Now Let's get to it. All right. First, wanna click file, then go down the export either. Ways for MP three file to make this faster click way file, you can save under an e file or folder you want but already exploited. So I'm just gonna replace this. This is always gonna pop up whenever you save your work. But it's for now. We're not gonna go any further. Just click Start.
