Welcome to the Studio! Hello, it's Froyle here! I'm thrilled to invite you on an incredible journey of creative discovery. As a mixed media artist with over three decades of experience, I'm deeply passionate about two things: creating beautiful, opulent artworks and inspiring you to unleash your creativity.
Art has the power to connect us with our roots, express who we are, and imagine who we might become. In this ninth class of the 100 Days of Collage series, you’ll explore culture and identity through the language of mixed media. Each prompt encourages you to reflect on personal experiences, cultural traditions, and the shared stories that shape us as individuals and communities.
Over seven lessons, you’ll honour your ancestry through symbolic imagery and textures, celebrate diversity by working with cultural patterns and motifs, and map out your own journey of self-identity. You’ll craft collages that capture the essence of home, create portraits of resilience, and celebrate traditions and memories. The week concludes with a vision for the future—inviting you to imagine growth, transformation, and hope through layered, forward-looking designs.
This class encourages introspection, storytelling, and the celebration of culture in its many forms. Whether through symbols, textures, or colours, your collages will become deeply personal works of art that speak to identity, heritage, and the beauty of diversity.
All levels are welcome. These prompts are designed to guide you into deeper expression, using whatever materials feel meaningful to you—from photographs and maps to fabric, patterns, and found objects. Your art becomes the canvas for both remembering and reimagining your story.
So, let’s gather our materials and create art that celebrates your culture and identity — together
