Sometimes I like to paint simply to enjoy the process without investing a lot of time or resources into creating a perfect masterpiece. Can you relate? Well, I created this class just for that! In this class I will share each step of my quick process to create tiny, textured landscapes. We will combine acrylic paint with one special ingredient, modeling paste, to create thick, chunky textures!

The beauty of this process is that you will see your small painting come together quickly, and have fun in the process. We aren't worried about perfection, but are focused on a simple process that can produce unexpected, beautiful results.
What you'll learn:
<ul><li>How to move from inspiration to a simple sketch.</li>
<li>Techniques to underpaint, and add chunky texture!</li>
<li>How to examine your inspiration photo and choose the lightest and darkest areas.</li>
<li>How to contrast between flat and thick painted areas in your composition.</li>
</ul>Who might enjoy this class:
<ul><li>New artists who want to explore a beginner-friendly technique.</li>
<li>Seasoned artists who might want a fresh idea or simple project for fun. </li>
</ul><img src="https://static.skillshare.com/uploads/discussion/tmp/ba3203d1.jpeg" class="zoomable rounded-image-wrapper" alt="ba3203d1.jpeg">
I've included a few resources that might help you as you create:
<ul><li>A downloadable <a href="https://www.amielynnmurray.com/access-resources-for-tiny-texture-class" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">guide </a>with written instructions.</li>
<li>A link to my <a href="https://www.amielynnmurray.com/access-resources-for-tiny-texture-class" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">inspiration board</a> full of landscape ideas.</li>
<li>Access to my <a href="https://www.amielynnmurray.com/access-resources-for-tiny-texture-class" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Texture Painting for Beginners</a> class.</li>
</ul>To take this class you'll need a small, flat 5x7 canvas board (or other rigid surface), a sketching pencil, acrylic paint, a paint brush, palette knife, and of course some modeling paste.
You'll finish this class with at least one 5x7 tiny textured landscape... but you might find that once you create one, it's hard to stop there! And, since you already have your supplies out, why not create a few? Or even a small collection? I like to pop these in a frame without glass, display on a shelf, or even give with a gift instead of a card. You can even write a little note on the back.
