Before you Open your Shop: Hey guys, Here are ten steps to get the right mindset for success on Etsy. If you're just thinking about opening an Etsy shop, here are ten tips on how to get a head start. So before you actually open your Etsy shop, I would definitely suggest to decide on your product and think of the ideal potential customers that might purchase from you. So think about the name of your shop as well and the industry that you are in. The next step is to research the industry that you are entering Market research is actually very easy to do on Etsy marketplace because you have the widest range of similar shops selling somehow similar items. So if you wanna do a quick research of the marketplace, you should definitely type in your target keyword, search for the similar shop performing well in your niche and see how they're selling similar product. If you notice that not many products come up when you actually search for them, it might be a sign that this particular product is not quite popular on Etsy or on the contrary, if you see a high engagement, if you see a lot of sales of the similar shops, Than it means that you are entering an in demand niche. We can also do that on erank.com But doing it on Etsy is very easy and it's much less time-consuming. Determine your niche. So there are a hundreds of well-established Etsy shops on Etsy marketplace already, because this is a very high demand market place with a high volume of sales. So entering a marketplace like this is not often easy because you have a high volume of competitors as well. So one of the reasons why someone might consider purchasing from you amongst all the other sellers out there, is your unique product. So having a niche product is always important and not just when you're selling your products on Etsy. This will come in handy in all the other aspects of your business because having a unique niche makes you stand out from all of your competitors in all the platforms. So the difference between your product and the product of your competitors might be something very simple but easily noticeable. So for us it was actually the versatility of our bags and many different ways of how you can actually use it. And this soon became our main selling point. And this is how we actually were able to stand out from all the other leather bag sellers on Etsy and gain success relatively quickly on this platform. If you don't have a product that will necessarily be physically different from other products on Etsy, it's not a problem at all. There are still different ways how you can market your product, to stand out from the competition. So this includes price marketing and building your brand. You can also influence customers decision by setting a lower price than your competitors. Position yourself for success. So one of the reasons why Etsy is so different from all the other marketplaces out there. And why people come to shop here is to buy custom made, hand-crafted unique items from unique people. And this is actually why you should market yourself as an authentic artist, to catch an eye of an interested buyer. and you can easily do that by adding different pictures in your about section, maybe adding a short video So this is actually quite interesting for customers to see And I've had many customers check out my about page and just seeing how their products are made is really unique experience. So you should always make sure to have your whole story here on Etsy and the about page, telling the story of your brand, the story of your product, how it actually came out to exist. This is the part of Marketing storytelling as well. There's different unique ways how you can actually tell even the most boring story, which will make your brand stand out from the competition. Etsy advises us to fill out all the fields on the first page of your shop. Because when you're first starting out, this is, this is tremendously important to gain trust of your customers and to speed up the process of conversions as well. So before you have a lot of sales, this is the first thing that customers go to check out to see if you're actually a trusted shop. Look at Etsy as a long-term investment. Etsy is about putting in the work and putting in the hours and seeing the outcome in a couple of months. So when you do the work, when you upload a listing constantly, maybe twice a week. Later you will see that this listing that you've uploaded couple of months ago, we'll be working for you in a year, in two years, in three years. This is why it's such an important investment. Each product that you upload on Etsy is also your potential investment because this listing will be bringing you traffic and orders in a long run. like in my case, For example, this listing has been my best seller for years now. And I've set it up, I think four years ago. As the time goes by I've changed a couple of things within this listing. I have updated photos, I've updated a little bit of description, Added. some in demand keywords, But, like most important thing is that this listing has been my investment and the working mechanism for my shop for years now, and I've only been improving it a little bit throughout the time. So when you put time and effort into this platform, adding new listings, improving them, Etsy will become fully automatic mechanism generating passive sales for you throughout the years. So what I do now on my Etsy shop is actually I do little bit of improvements whenever I have time or maybe I add a new listing for my collection. But even if I don't do anything on my Etsy shop, I will still be generating sales because I have already done the work. I've put in hours and I made the effort to this whole investment of an Etsy shop. And now I'm just generating sales on a daily basis. Be patient. The success on it doesn't just happen overnight, No matter how hard you work, it definitely needs some time for Etsy algorithm to kick in. So for me the first Sale happened in the first three weeks of me being on Etsy and adding listings twice a week. And after a couple of months, I was already generating enough sales to actually rent my own workshop. So even though the results for me where relatively quickly, it took about six months to have a stable income on Etsy. But again, this results are different for all the shops out there. And this mainly depends on the price range of your product. Though the first six months on Etsy are always there hardest, This is the time when you start doubting yourself, so dodging your product, your work. And one of the most important things is not to give up and to the quiet opposite and double your efforts on working on this platform. After you've done the work, you should definitely be patient and know that your efforts will pay out. So Etsy algorithm is basically the machine that takes into consideration the activity and the quality of your shop from the day you actually open it. So as soon as you open your Etsy shop, the timer goes on and you have to make sure to be active on Etsy platform from the day one. So having prepared listings is a great way to start uploading your products right away. This will definitely come in handy in the future and you will have the easier time ranking on Etsy. So my advice would be that before you open your Shop, make sure to prepare your products, So at least 15 listings to be ready to upload, except the fact that your shop won't be perfect from the start. And that's totally okay. So our strive for perfection is often one of the main factors why we hesitate to do something if it's not done perfectly. I've hesitated on opening an Etsy shop for actually years. So when I first finally opened it, my listings were far from perfect. I have decided that the first step for me on the path to success was to actually have my products listed, gain some important feedback, and then work on my listings constantly. So when I look at my product from the first year that I've opened it compared to what we have right now. There's such a huge difference in photos, in the product itself, in the description. Like basically everything is so much better now, but I would not be able to achieve this results if I did not start somewhere. So if you have this doubts about your product, Just just go for it and upload some quality products and makes sure to work on them. And this is actually a great thing because you'll have the opportunity to improve and compare your results. No turning back attitude. So before Etsy, when I was working on my designs from home and I did not have the opportunity to rent a proper workshop, I was feeling stuck and I didn't really see how I could grow without any investment or a workspace So when I discovered Etsy and saw all the possibilities that this sales channel could potentially bring me, I immediately knew that I either stop making bags at all or I will go above and beyond to succeed on this platform. And that's exactly what I did. And After I made this conscious decision My life changed tremendously. I started prioritizing my work and I started putting more effort. I starting going above and beyond for this. And honestly this changed everything. I was making more products. I was taking more pictures. I was working crazy hours sometimes after I would come home from my part-time job. But it was so worth the effort because I realized how important this craft actually is to me. And that if I was willing to go above and beyond for this work, then I was definitely not ready to give it up. Believe in yourself and your product. So I think along the way we've all experienced the imposter syndrome And sometimes for artists and creators, it's really hard to realize how, how actually authentic you are, and how different and unique your product is. For me, it was really hard realize that someone might actually want to buy my product. This was one of the main barriers in my life why I was so unsure of my work. So when you are on Etsy, you should just know that you deserve to be here and you deserve to get reimbursed for your work. This mindset will help you so much in a long run. if you have the right attitude on Etsy from this start, this shows in your product, in your marketing, in your branding, and your Etsy shop will thrive. Quality always comes first. Whatever you decide to sell, just make sure that the quality of your product is a top-notch. Customers on Etsy expect high-quality handmade products And that's why they shop on Etsy and not on Amazon or eBay. Quality of your product will most likely determine the future of your shop. Quality of the product has the tremendous impact on the reviews, and reviews have the tremendous impact on the conversions of your shop. I've gathered this information from my personal experience on this platform, And also I researched other Etsy sellers experiences with Etsy. And these tips proved to improve their online presence on Etsy marketplace drastically. 3. 10 Reasons to start selling on Etsy today!: Here are ten reasons to start selling on Etsy today. If you're just figuring out how to take your craft to the next level and make a living while doing something to truly love, you've come to the right place. I was able to achieve a lot with this platform in just two years. But even after the first six months, I was already able to hire team and rent my own workspace. In this lesson, we'll go through all the advantages of opening an Etsy shop or in case you already have an Etsy Shop, I hope this will give you the motivation to optimize it even further. Number one, for me is the cost. Opening an isotope is actually free. And in case you have referrals, adding couple of listings will also be free, in case you don't That's also fine because adding each listing only costs $0.20 and that's very reasonable price for such a huge platform. So in my case, when I first started with just $20, Etsy was the most efficient and cheapest way to get seen by hundreds of people in a very short period of time. Number two for me, is a traffic. In 2020, there was more than 60 million buyers on this platform and only 10% where the sellers. This means that the demand on this platform is much higher than the supply and you have a great chance to be competitive with this platform and catch an eye of an interested buyer. Etsy actually works really hard to promote their platform in many different ways to bring this tremendous traffic to their website. Which means that half of your job is already done by Etsy and all you have to do is direct already interested customers to your Etsy Shop with Etsy organic search or Etsy Ads. So another cool thing about having an Etsy shop is that customers can actually search for your shop outside of Etsy as well. For example, here we have Etsy marketing and SEO. So This statistics are specifically from Google, Yahoo and Bing, but mostly they are from Google. And we can dive in into the statistics and find out how many visits Google brought us exactly. So mostly it depends on what kind of product you have, how many products you have, and how good you are actually ranking on Etsy search results page as well. So for example, if I want to type in my main keyword from Etsy, leather bag for example, We have a lot of results on Google, but as you can see, Etsy comes up at the top. So when we click Etsy right here, we are redirected to Etsy search results page under this specific keyword that we've typed in. And if you have an Etsy shop and have a great ranking under this particular keyword, you will come up at the top of the search results. Growth opportunity. I can tell from my own experience That Etsy is a real deal. And there's no better place to sell your work in order to get a better result. If you play your cards right Etsy can easily become your full-time job and the main source of income for your business. Etsy has the most user-friendly interface comparing to all the other platforms that I've had experience with. So I always advise my students to start here and get acquaintance with e-commerce world And maybe then go on to more serious platforms like Shopify or WordPress. This way, it's much more easier for you to understand Shopify, for example, if you have your experiences on Etsy beforehand. It's actually the easiest to navigate amongst all other e-commerce websites. Number five for me is low fee, as I mentioned earlier, Opening an Etsy Shop is free and it doesn't require much of an investment. Overall, it's much cheaper than opening an actual physical store or selling your work anywhere else. Etsy is also cheaper than many other e-commerce platforms of the same scale. So there are a couple of fees from Etsy that we need to take into consideration in order to establish the correct pricing for our products. So there's a listing fee which is essentially $0.20 per listing, which means that each time you upload, renew or sell listing, you pay $0.20. So there is a shipping fee as well. So if you have a separate shipping cost and you don't have a free shipping guarantee, or you're adding shipping as maybe expedited shipping option. In that case, there are also fee of five percent from your shipping cost. There's also transaction fee which was raised this year from from 5 to 6.5 percent from the total cost of your item. So if you offer free shipping guarantee, it might improve actually improve your Ranking in search engine, it might motivate more customers to purchase from you And also you won't have to pay any fees for the shipping. So Payment processing fees are different according to the location of your shop and whether or not you use Etsy payments or people with PayPal. Paypal has its own processing fees, but if you use Etsy payments, then depends on what country you live in. There are different fees for every country. So for the US is 3% plus ¢0.25 per sale from your total costs. We also have additional cost if you're running Etsy ADS. So if you make below ten grand is 15% per sale, which was made through Etsy ads. And if your revenue is above ten grand, in that case, it is a little bit less, so it just around 12%. So Amazon handmade, for example, charges 15% per sale and regular Amazon has $40 monthly fees plus any additional fees that apply during the sale. As for me, Shopify is the cheapest option, but it's not a marketplace and it doesn't have as much exposure and you need additional funds to get all this traffic to your website. So you're basically paying a bit more for the huge exposure and the huge traffic that Etsy provides an brings to the website. Number six, better understanding your customers. Etsy has one important feature that I think is essential for your business growth, which is messages. When I started on this platform, I had couple of products and I had no way of knowing whether they're good or what needs to be improved. And Etsy messages actually provided me with the opportunity to have the direct contact with my customers. So after awhile, I basically knew exactly what my customers wanted, They had a lot of custom request, They had a lot of suggestions on how to improve the products to meet their needs. And after a while, I just started implementing all these changes. And I just noticed that my product got a lot better. So currently we have more than 340 listings and they are all different products. We now make Basically everything you can make from leather. Honestly, the new products that we designed, the idea came from our customers. And even with the existing products, we've added so much things that we would have never come up on our own. For example, for this particular design, we've added the leather patches because our customers told us that they appreciate the strap being wider because of the heavy things that they would need to put inside the bag. We've also added the back pocket option, the laptop sleeve option, interior zipper option, and key chain holder All because our customers reached out to us and asked for this specific features numerous times. This is how we've realized that there is a demand for this specific features. Later on we've added more accessories and a webbing strap So these are all customizable features which you can add from here. And this is all very exciting because Etsy is all about being custom and having many options to customize your product as much as you can. We've started with one small design, and now we have four sizes, ten different options to customize our item. Suddenly I understood exactly what my customers wanted, and this was honestly turning point for my business. Number 7 - Learning from your competitors. Etsy is full of all kinds of talented creators who have been on this platform much longer than you have and who have substantial number of sales and have already implemented the best practices for their shop in order to learn from them and become better, you have to actually do a research on your competitors, your target market. You have to basically find a shop that is doing really well in your niche and that you really like And you had to find out what their key selling point, what exactly might be working for them, and what you can bring and implement to your unique shop as well. This doesn't mean that you have to copy someone. Your shop has to be unique and different in its own way And the best you can do, just learn from someone who has already experienced what you're going through. Also, if you go on your erank.com, in competition section, there are several tools that you might be using if you want to get ahead of your competition. So Here in the listing section, you can type in the name of your competitor shop and see their best-performing listings. Also here we have the tag section, which is also very fascinating. Again, you should type in the name of your competitors Shop and erank will show you all the tags that this shop is using on all of its listings. Basically, I learned everything from my competitors. Number eight, Etsy is basically artists Marketplace. Etsy is the marketplace for artists, for talented creators. And if you're one of those, than Etsy is the perfect platform for you. Etsy values, new ideas, new creations, and it promotes the artist constantly. Number nine, what I especially love about this platform is that after a while you can just sit back and relax a bit and gain profit from your work without a need to constantly be present. When you are done optimizing your Etsy shop and you are at the point of constantly receiving orders on a daily basis You can then put your whole effort into creating new designs or running your physical store, or working on a new project. And you'll be receiving orders from Etsy at the same time. Because you have already built your Etsy shop and you have put in effort, you can then continue to receive passive orders and focus on something that will be even more beneficial in the future. Number ten, Fast results. So once you get at least one of your listings out there in the first five pages of Etsy search, you can have the fastest results which will then ensure a sale and a good placement in Etsy Search. And this is your opportunity to have the highest exposure in a very short period of time. I used to upload a new listing every other day. And after three or four months I already had constant income. This results actually differ according to your product and the price range. Cheaper products tend to have higher conversion rates and the shops with cheaper products usually take off quickly. But if you're selling something more expensive, it needs a little bit more time. In conclusion, I would definitely suggest investing the time and effort into this platform, Because from my experience, this is the most promising and effective marketplace out there. 4. 10 Etsy Review Hacks + Star Seller: Our lesson for today is entirely about the reviews and how to manage them. My Etsy shop has hundreds of five-star reviews, and I believe this to be one of the main reasons for our success. Reviews on Etsy are not easy to obtain, but it's definitely worth the effort because ultimately reviews on Etsy have a tremendous impact on the conversion score of your Etsy shop. In fact, if I review motivates customers to purchase from you and increase your conversion score, your listings will automatically perform better in search engine. Unfortunately, not everyone leaves a review and the most standard rate for a review per sale is usually 30%, 30% percent review rate is actually a very good sign that you are doing something right You should aim for that average 30%. And this is same for my case, as well. As you can see, only 30% of my total customers have left me a review in the past couple of years working on my Etsy shop and trying to perfect it I've managed to come up with the best strategies that honestly doubled the quantity of my reviews. These strategies are very simple to follow and implement, and they are all based on my personal experience. Number one, answer the messages quickly. Answering messages on time increases a chance of a sale by 30%. It also shows that you take this business seriously and it affects your overall customer service performance. Make sure to give the detailed answers to all the questions asked. The best way to respond to messages quickly is by downloading Etsy seller app. This way you'll get notified whenever customers message you on Etsy and actually according two new Star Seller program, you should answer your customers within the first 24 hours when they first reach out to you in order to maintain the perfect score of 95 percent or more. Star Seller program is relatively new initiative from Etsy. It actually replaced the ODR score, which was initially the metrics to differentiate the quality shops from shops that are more reckless or do not provide a certain level of customer service. Star seller rolled out in early 2022. And its main goal is to build trust between customers and Etsy sellers. Star Seller program consists of three main aspects, which are right here. And in order to receive a star seller badge of the month, you should satisfy all of those three aspects right here and receive a minimum score of 95% in each of them. Star Seller program does not directly impact your performance in the search engine yet. But if you are relatively new shop, it will definitely help you to build trust with your customers and it will have a positive impact on your conversions. So the star seller program, collects the data from the last three months, including message, response rate, average rating, and on time shipping and tracking. So average rating is the average rating of your entire Etsy shop. And if you have an average rating of 4.8, which is not that hard to obtain, You are eligible to have the perfect score on time. Shipping and tracking is basically how you manage and monitor your orders. So it includes shipping your orders on time and including the tracking number for your orders. Number two - Set the correct expectations regarding your product. So the real product should always exceed the expectations of your customers. One of the best ways to manage expectations online is by providing realistic and yet tasteful photos of your products in the listings, your photography should always be a top-notch, but make sure to capture the features of your product realistically like the exact color, the size, And also makes sure that pictures don't oversell your product too much to avoid any chance of customers disappointment after they receive a real product, make sure your product is high-quality and worth the price. As I mentioned earlier, quality is something that customers pay a lot of attention to on this platform. And it's one of the most important criteria's in order to get the best reviews. And especially if you have a relatively expensive product, you have more pressure to provide the best customer service and the best quality. Number four, set the accurate shipping timeframes in your shipping settings. Always make sure to set the right expectations for the shipping and let customers know if the shipping is Experiencing any delays. From my experience, this especially applies around holidays. I always make sure to warn my customers about the possible delays and offer them expedited shipping option. We've had cases when a customer was frustrated after a shipping delay and even though it was not our fault at all, this prevented us from getting a five-star review for a perfectly good product. You should always make sure to set the correct processing times as well and make sure to ship your products within this time frame. Number five, makes sure to provide your customers with the detailed information regarding your product and its features. This includes dimensions, materials that are used, functionality, color, maybe some usage instructions, care instructions, and everything that might be useful for a customer to know before purchasing. You can add that information in the description and this will give the customer an opportunity to learn about your product, make an informed decision, and know everything there is to know before purchasing in order to have the correct expectations. Number six, track your packages. Always make sure to keep track of your shipped orders and keep your customers updated and informed every step of the way. Your job is only done when the customer has your package and is truly satisfied with it. From my experience this step is actually quite important. And not many sellers do this. Because actually when you update your customers regarding the whereabouts of their package, it shows that you have a great customer service, great communication. You care about your customers even after making a sale. And they are in fact your main priority. This also helps you with establishing communication with your customers on a more personal level, which has a direct impact on their overall experience with your company. Offer discounts. If you can afford to give a discount coupon, it's a very good way to give it to a customer who reached out to you in order to make him or her feel more special and appreciated or give it to a return customer who will definitely appreciate it. Offer free customization or personalization. So Etsy is all about customized and personalized items. And that's one of the main things. How this platform is so different from all the other marketplaces out there. Etsy encourages you as a seller to create customized products and meet the needs of your customers as best as you possibly can, and provide them with something that they can't Simply buy In a regular store. For example, when customers message us regarding slight adjustments in order to have a custom-made product which is made specifically just for them. We gladly do it for free. That by customer sees as your priority is not just making a profit, but establishing a real long lasting connection between a brand and a customer. In my own experience, little things like this encourage customers to leave a five-star review 100 percent of the time, Accept returns and exchanges. That way you'll avoid a pissed off customer and a negative review, especially when you're just starting out and have a few reviews, it's always best to go through with the reasonable demands of your unsatisfied customer rather than risk getting a one-star review. Negative reviews affect the purchasing decision of your future customers, And they also have a negative impact on a ranking of your Etsy shop in search engine and also might become an obstacle in a receiving a star seller badge in the future. If you receive a one star review on Etsy to not panic and make sure to reach out to your customer first before actually posting a public response. Because if you post a public response, your customer will not be able to change the review later, That would be really frustrating in case you guys do figure everything out and customer would be willing to change their review. Package your product with care and attention to detail, you have to ensure this safest packaging for your product. If the package arrives damaged customer will most likely demand a refund or sending a new product. So it's always best to avoid any possible complications. If your product is very delicate, consider shipping it with a box. If you have a branded packaging, a tag, or a brochure of your small business. It's also a huge impact on the overall review. Customers just love interesting and original packaging, which shows that it was packaged with care and attention to details. Make sure to slip, a postcard, a small gift, or a coupon. If you have a relatively expensive product, it's always a good idea to have a branded packaging because it actually increases the value of your product. We always make sure to slip a postcard, which is essentially a thank you note written by hand. And in this note we thank our customers and encourage and remind them to support our small business By leaving a review. this strategy actually works really well and it shows a personal touch. Etsy added a video review. And this is really exciting because now your potential customers can actually see your products in action and experience it from other customers perspective, which will definitely have a positive outcome in the future. So your final goal is to create a memorable customer experience which encourages your customer to go above and beyond, to thank you for your time by leaving a wonderful, heartfelt review. Happy customers should always be your main priority. A happy customer is a loyal customer who will spread the word about your shop statistically to at least ten other people. 5. 10 Best SEO Tips from a Full time Etsy Seller: Ten ways to optimize the SEO of your Etsy shop for success as C0 is essentially one of the most important part of managing a successful Etsy shop. And without a good SEO, your shelf simply won't get an exposure it needs in order to have a good conversion rate and constant sales. So what is an SEO? The definition is quite simple and you don't have to be an expert in this field to understand how it works. Seo stands for search engine optimization, and it basically means how you can let the ETS algorithm and know what accept your product is and optimize your Etsy shop in a way that it's easily found by the right people searching for those similar products. Its main job, like with many other search engines, is to provide the most relevant search results to this search queries of its customers. So your main job as an Etsy seller is to send the correct signal to add 0 guarding your product to get the most efficient matches. So we don't actually need random people searching random things on Etsy, we actually need our exact audience who is searching for our product. This is why Etsy prioritizes some products or by others in the search results. So these products are seen more often. They have a good engagement. They are sold multiple times. And it's actually can see that this product is a high-quality product, which is very relevant to specific search query. Write down the important features of your product. It will help you visualize your product and break it down into pieces. And we will use this later on to assemble our target keywords. Separate the basic features of your product, like color, size, material, occasion that it might be used on. Also make sure to point out your target audience. So who would ideally buy and use your product? This will actually come in handy in the future. Think like your customer main job of Etsy algorithm is to connect you with your ideal customers searching for the exact product. This makes shopping on Etsy efficient and relevant for you and for your customer. You have to look at your product from customers perspective and imagine what they would actually search for in order to find your product. So for example, in my case, because we make hand-crafted leather bags, one of the main things that our customers might be searching for in order to find our product is leatherbacks probe women, leatherbacks for men. Or it may be leather bags for travel. In this case, that travel is the occasion that my purse might be used on. There are many different ways how we can intuition actually assemble some keywords. And this is where you should definitely start to generate ideas. Avoid generic keywords as much as you can. Every keyword essentially comes with a set of supply and demand data, which means that some keywords are searched for very often and by lots of people, but they also have high supply. So because these keywords are so popular, lots of already well-established Etsy shops are ranking on the first pages. So there's very little chance that you will get a good ranking using such an overly saturated keywords. And the main point of the good SEO is to figure out which keywords are actually more accessible to you. So generic keywords are typically one word keywords with a lot of searches and a huge competition. So if I typed in a one-word generic keyword like bags, for example, H-plus show more than 2 million results. But if I type in a more specific keyword like leather bags for example, where I used the material of my products to make this keyword more specific. In that case, there are just 400 thousand results. It's more specific keywords like this are called long tail keywords. Long tail keywords are most specific, S3 for word phrases which are quite specific to whatever you're selling and very specific to us search intent. So customers who are already aware of what they want, they will not waste time of typing generic keywords. They will be more precise in order to find the most relevant results. And basically long-tail keywords are less common. They have much less search results. Less people are actually searching for it, but people who are searching for it are determined to make a purchase. So these are the people that we need to attract in order to have a grid conversion rate. These long tail keywords mainly focus on the main features of your product that might be relevant for some customers. Using more specific long-tail keywords instead of a generic ones is actually the key to every search engine optimisation. This gives you the best opportunity to have the less competition get ranked better and have people in your shop who are determined to purchase your product. You have to be very careful though, not to use too specific long-tail keywords that no one actually searches for. And this is exactly why we do keyword research. So there are several ways how you can do an effective keyword research on LC. My personal favorite is E rank.com. But you can also do a keyword research on marmalade. And there's also a way that you can generate some authentic keywords on Keywords Everywhere.com. So E rank is great for keyword research and it also has so many useful tools to help you optimize your store, which I will discuss further in the next lessons. So my advice while doing a keyword research is to try to aim for the golden keywords. And keyword is essentially what I called keywords with high demand and low competition, mix your keywords in your titles. So when you add a new listing on Etsy, etsy algorithm does a very short boost up your listing and actually shows it at the front page of many competitive keywords for a short period of time to test your listing for relevance. Using broad keyword is not always a mistake. I always advise to sleep one or two high-demand generic keywords into the mix with more specific long tail keywords in the front. That will give you the opportunity to rank on all fronts. And also, if the listing does well in the future, you're listing might even establish its place on the front pages of some very broad and competitive keywords as well. For example, if your product might be a great gift for someone, it's a great way to start generating keywords from here. So for example, here we have Valentine's Day gift, here we have Mother's Day gifts at Christmas gift, teachers gifts out. There are actually multiple ways how you can promote your product as a gift on multiple occasions. And you can also research multiple gift options and give keywords on un.com. This will give you the opportunity to rank on all fronts and actually take a chance on the high demanding generic keywords as well. But your main focus should always be your PR size, long-tail keywords, because these keywords will actually bring you the right traffic. So this is why your listing should actually be relevant to your title and your texts. So using generic keywords will, might actually give you faster results. And it depends very much on what your product is. If your product is in lowering price range. And this generic keyword is very high converting keyword, it might actually be great for eliciting to use a keyword like this alongside with other long-tail keywords. So semantic keywords, these keywords right here, which people are actually searching for it at the moment. And every search engine has, the suggestion using semantic keywords is quiet easy. If you type in a one word keyword of your product, it will give you suggestions on this specific products. So these are one of the most popular searches under your specific product. But what I usually do is I researched these keywords in Iraq and sometimes I might include them in my titles if they are relevant to what I'm actually selling. Another way to create some relevant keywords is to find a shop that is doing really well in your niche through Etsy search and has quite a few cells. You have to just look at what keywords they're using already on their bestseller product. This will help you to have a better idea of your market and your target audience. You can also do a competition analysis on Iran.com. But doing it on Etsy is a great way to get inspired. This does not mean that you have to copy someone's keywords are listings or anything else. This just means that in order for you to have a better understanding of your market and your target audience. It's a great way to actually look at what other similar sellers are doing. But I would definitely suggest researching keywords in Iraq as well when you find something that you think will be applicable to your shop as well. So what I usually do with tags is I always repeat the keyword that I used in the titles and then add some more relevant long tail keywords. In addition. This ensures that you are repeated keyword have more weight and they indicate to its algorithm that they are in fact the most relevant keywords. So make sure to use all 13 of your tags. Use long-tail tags as well. So make sure to have to Word tags instead of one. Makes sure to have different keywords as your tags. Because you want to rank in other keywords as well, and not just one or two keywords and having different keywords in your tags, we'll make this possible. So the title of your listing is obviously one of the most important place where you want to put the most important long-tail keywords. Titles have the most weight in your listings. And this is what you want to especially focused on when optimizing your listing for search engine. And it also matters in what order you put your keywords in the title in order to achieve the best results. So you have to prioritize your most important long-tail keywords in the title and put them first. So the first three phases in your titles have the most weight. In this search algorithm, I usually prefer to keep my titles longer than suggested. And this way I have more opportunity to rank for more different keywords, but at the same time, I make sure not to use all symbols and I leave some space just because my title should also be easy to read for my customers. So your title should have some really important long tail keywords, but they also should be easy to understand for your customers. Also makes sure to separate your titles with a comma or a dash. So when writing listing titles, make sure to always have different titles for all of your listings. And write as many unique keywords in your titles as possible. So when you have a lot of listings on Etsy with a unique keywords and unique tags. You are maximizing your potential and you're reaching your target audience as much as you possibly can. But also makes sure that all of your keywords are super relevant. And preferably long tail is a great way to see what keywords are doing well for the particular listings. And that's why I always advise to advertise some of your listings in order to see which actually performing well and which keywords are really working, you have a better idea on which keywords are worth using more frequently. There are three places where you would want your target keywords to exist. The first is obviously the title, which is the most important one. The second is the description, and the third are the text. Search engine optimization is not just about generating keywords. It's about all the other things that you have to do in your shop in order to optimize the whole SEO of your Etsy shop. But one of the most important things to do is indeed, to start with keywords. We also have to do a little bit of touch ups in our Etsy shop in order to optimize our entire shop for this year. So the first thing that is advised to do is to actually have one of your main target keywords right here, just below your shop name. The other thing that many are two sellers actually advise us to do is to have your main target keyword right beside your shop name right here. This is again for the search engine, but it's not a necessity. This is just a suggestion. Next, we have this sections right here, and it would be great if you would include your main target long-tail keywords as your section names right here, filter your products accordingly. You can also include couple of keywords in the announcement and the About Us section right below. Overall, in order to have constant cells and a good conversion rate, it's important to have the right traffic coming your way. So it's very important to reach your target audience on Etsy. And the only way how we can actually do that is through keyword research. So make sure to use long-tail keywords, author of the tags, and make sure to always do the keyword research before uploading your listing. 6. 10 Hacks to creating Photos that Sell: Lesson number is Six. Creating pictures that actually sell good photography skills are the key to selling on any e-commerce platform, and especially on Etsy, where visual part plays a crucial role in attracting new customer base. The first small icon that the customer sees of your listing should stand out and influence your customer's decision to click on your listing and actually follow it to your store, which is not very easy to do since there are hundreds of other Etsy Sellers out there trying to achieve the same exact thing. But take it from my experience, it's totally doable and you don't even need an expansive equipment or a photo studio in order to achieve the results. Today, my company is fully capable of hiring a photographer in order to do all of our photo shoots. But honestly, I'm in love with the process of taking pictures by myself, because I know exactly how to show my product in the best possible way. I know every angle that I need to take in order to influence my customers to fall in love with my product. In this short lesson, I'll show you the most cost efficient ways to create beautiful, clean, minimalist pictures that Etsy loves, and that I personally use on my listings as well. Number one - Equipment When I first started my small business, I didn't have any investment. But what I actually had was my camera, which was a wedding gift. This is Cannon Mark 3 5D with 50 millimeter lens, which we bought secondhand with our wedding money. And it has been working great for at least five years now. Even though I'm not in any way a professional photographer, I enjoy working with this camera very much. And the quality of the pictures with this 50 millimeter lens have been very clear and very professional. And this is honestly, the best purchase that I've ever made. If you have the opportunity to purchase any of the Canon Mark models in 3-4-5 series, that would be a great investment for your future business and it would help you tremendously in a long run. The other alternative would be to take pictures with your phone, which I'm sure would also look amazing. Alter some slight editing and touch up. Number 2 - Lighting. Though I have purchased some really expensive lighting equipment along the way, I actually still prefer using just natural light. I don't actually use any other equipment at all, In order to take clean, minimalist, budget pictures like this All you need is a white Wall and natural light. I've noticed that pictures taken in this setting always tend to perform better and have more natural colors. Having natural colors in your listings is always important on Etsy because customers do pay a lot of attention to realistic colors, And in order to have realistic expectations, it's always better to use natural light. Number 3 - The Setup. Etsy always prefers that we take as minimalist and clean pictures as possible. I've noticed that picture with a white background tend to perform much better than in any other setting. That's why as the main first picture, I always use white background pictures, Where the product is the main focus. This way for customers it's much easier to see your product and actually analyze it. So for this clean, minimalist white background setup. What I use is a white wall and table that I purchased from IKEA for just $20, which creates perfect white surface for all of my products. Overall, pictures with white backgrounds and natural lighting tend to be more natural, Customers respond to it better and the white surface actually reflects light much better than any other color Number 4 - Staging. Whenever I have a new product to shoot, I always try to keep it simple with the staging. You don't want to overdo it. I usually just shoot clean minimalist photos, but sometimes I love to customize my products with different home décor accessories, for example, that compliment my product and give it more interesting look. When you take pictures like this, always try to choose the accessories that go perfectly with the items that you are selling and always try not to overshadow your main product with additional accessories. Having 50 millimeter lens gives you the opportunity to actually blur out this accessories and have your product as the main focus. While this complimentary accessories will create a really nice, interesting background. Besides clean white background in pictures, I always recommend to take your product pictures in more of a natural environment. Which mostly depends on what product you're selling. Main goal should be to help your customers imagine how this product would benefit their day-to-day lives and actually help them realize that they need this product. I personally love to take pictures of my bags, Outdoors, while traveling in the streets, in the interesting cafes. By doing so, I help my customers imagine Where and how they would potentially use my product. Try to imagine your product in the most flattering setting, where your customers would ideally use it and just shoot it there. For example, if you're selling something that people would ideally use while traveling, while, for example, hiking or taking walks. It would be really nice to shoot it in the nature and just show your customers all the potential ways, that they could use your product and benefit from it. Pictures taken in the nature speak to people who love traveling and like pictures taken indoors in interesting unique location Always set more interesting vibe that speaks to its target audience. Number 5 - Models and Styling Besides creating a perfect background, It's always important to have someone showcasing your product, especially if you are selling accessories or clothing. And the best part is, You don't have to hire an expensive modelling agency and you don't have to hire a photographer. From my experience, the best way to showcase your product on Etsy is to either do it by yourself or have friends or family members to model for you. Doing so we'll guarantee more natural and more genuine pictures. In my case, I love showcasing my products myself, because that way I can showcase my products in the best possible way. I can also show my customer base just how in love I am with my products. I've noticed that customers love seeing real creators In the pictures. It makes them more connected to you, It makes them feel like they know you. And it just makes the whole purchasing on Etsy experience so much more meaningful and interesting, than just hiring bunch of models. Creating interesting Pictures like this, where you interact like a creator actually builds trust even before the decision of purchasing. I've also noticed that little bit of styling also goes along way. Try to match the clothes and accessories that your model wears, To the product that you are shooting, to compliment a product, to create a really nice, coordinated aesthetic to all of your listings. I mostly prefer to wear beige or neutral outfits To always have my products as the main focus. But also sometimes I like to experiment and I wear some interesting accessors with my outfits, which actually help my customers imagine what they would potentially wear with my products. And this is so interesting, because there are so many ways you could potentially influence your customers to see your product in their day-to-day lives. Choosing a person to showcase your product has also a lot to do with your target demographic. So If you're selling kidswear for example, it would be nice to have little children showcasing your products, having this little fun photoshoot where it's obviously clear that your product is for kids. If you're a target demographic is older generation, it would've been nice to have a representative of that similar age group representing your products, so that it's easier for your target audience to see themselves using your product. Number 6 - The Angle Etsy advises us to take the product pictures from all angles to create Correct expectations and to showcase your product from all sides. So in my experience, I always showcase my product from the front, where it's usually the main picture, I always showcase them from the side where you could definitely see the dimensions and the detailing. I showcase them from the back as well, where you have the feature to add additional back pocket for example, And I've always tried to showcase my product in the best possible way, because customers can't physically visit my store. Instead of adding this pictures separately, you can just create one collage, featuring all sides. Numbers 7 - Creating Complimentary Product Duos and cross-promoting your products. What I found as the most useful tip selling on e-commerce, is that you can easily cross promote your products by using just pictures. If have several products that you think go well with each other, Make sure to shoot them together and include this pictures in your listings. In my case, I have a set of matching bag, matching bracelet, and matching wallet. So when I showcase how well this products go with each other in just one picture, I make my customers purchasing decision so much easier. Most of the time they purchase, all three of these complimentary products. Doing so, helps your customer make a better informed decision, It helps you sell more items, It helps you save on shipping costs And it helps to promote all of your three products at once. If you have one product that is selling really well, make sure to include a picture of the complimentary products in that best-selling listing, And also makes sure to include the link where customers could purchase this additional complimentary products in the description. Number 8 - Photoshop. I'm not a Photoshop expert at all. This is not my main occupation, but I've learnt some few tricks by myself, while editing my own pictures. Whichever camera you're using, I can guarantee, that you will need a slight touch up in order for pictures to look more professional and clean. I use Adobe Photoshop CC or Lightroom for most of my editing, and I try to do as minimal editing as possible. I usually just play with brightness and saturation to make my products pop up and have more natural look. Because usually when you take pictures with your camera, Even in natural light, most of your pictures will turn out to be darker than they naturally are. So your job is to make them more presentable and to make them look as realistic as possible. Always try to not overdo the editing, Because your pictures should always look as realistic and as natural as possible because customers, will expect the same product When it arrives to them. And as we know, it's always important to create realistic expectations for your reviews, for customer satisfaction, and for creating a loyal base of customers. If you're not familiar with editing on Photoshop or Lightroom, it's not a problem at all. You can create a really nice filters on Canva.com And Canva also has a lot of useful tools which helps you with editing, creating collages, and just creating some promotional banners for your store. Number 9 - Creating informational content. If your product needs a soundless video tutorial on how to use it, or just a nice way to showcase your product, You can now upload a video to your listings, And this is actually really very much encouraged by Etsy. You can also create informational collages on canva.com where you can just showcase all of the steps the customer needs to take in order to use your product in just one single picture. I always recommend putting the important Customization information in the photos, because usually customers don't read the descriptions thoroughly, And to avoid any confusion and unhappy customer afterwards, it's always better to ensure that the most important information is seen in the pictures. Number 10 - First Picture that Sells All your first listing pictures should match and create this wholesome aesthetic and give your brand, your shop more presentable and clean look. It's almost the same as when the customer walks into a physical store. And you can tell a lot about the brand just by looking what their store looks like. Instead, you are welcoming your customers into your online space where the main tools that you have, which can help you navigate and influence your customers purchasing behavior is your listings, your main cover, and your first pictures. That First listing, picture it the most important factor in the success of your listing and ultimately your store. Even if you have the best titles, best keywords, best description, and your listing finally pops up in your customers search results, It's really important to have a picture that the customers will interact with. So the first picture is the picture that sells, and it should be the picture that influences your customers to click on your listing, to favorite it, to purchase it, and to create this conversion which will ultimately give your listening a score. Your picture should stand out from all the other competitors out there. Especially if you're competing for high demand keywords and want to drive all this traffic back to your shop. There are several tips, that I've noticed that work best for first pictures that I've implemented to all of my 300 listings. The first one is that I've also mentioned earlier is the white background because it makes it much easier for customers to spot your listing among all the other competitors in the search results. If your offer a wide variety of colors or sizes choices, you can put them as a first picture in order to attract larger base of customers, who are looking for a different size or color choices. Another great tip is to show your customers how to use your product as the first picture. For example, if the customer is looking for a laptop bag, I'm showcasing my purse with a laptop, just to show them, this is exactly what you're looking for. You're instantly answering your customers needs just by showcasing one picture. Overall, I can definitely say that good pictures were the key factor in our success. Creating tasteful pictures is not hard at all, And it doesn't require much of an investment. You can absolutely do photo shoots by yourself with a good camera, But if you do decide to hire a photographer, make sure to participate in the shootings and guide your photographer to shoot your product in the best possible angles. Because at the end of the day, You are the person who knows your product the best, and in order to get the most efficient results, you should always participate in the shootings and show your own personal view. Picture is on Etsy are much different than on any other platform, And they should always reflect the authenticity of your brand, the uniqueness of your product, and your touch as a creator. That's all, I hope my tips will help you develop your own personal brand, and stand out from the crowd. Thank you. 7. 8 Etsy Hacks: Etsy is a complex marketplace and there are quite a few things that you need to optimize on Etsy before you start receiving steady sales. This course is all about that. But in this short lesson, I just want to share with you some hacks that I've noticed to work really well on Etsy and that are super easy to implement in your shop. So the first advice would be to advertise your new listings when everything is in order and your listing is ready to be published, an advertised, I would definitely advise to advertise your new listings right away. So Etsy add is quite unpredictable and we don't really know how ads it picks the listings to show to your target audience. Some listings might not get the views at all. For some reason, at the algorithm chooses to advertise new listings more aggressively. And this is why they often get more views, has a few marketing options within its marketing panel. And in my experience, this sale option works best. Anywhere between 2040 per cent sale is a great way to engage your customers and to actually influenced their purchasing decision. So this, this type of promotion usually works the best. Also, I would definitely recommend to put a sale on your bestsellers. So make sure to have the price that you're comfortable with, even with the sale, and make sure to have your best sellers on sale often. And if you notice that people have some of your products in their cart, makes sure to do a sale on that product as soon as possible, because this cell influences your customers tremendously to make a purchasing decision faster. And in that case, it's a great chance to actually establish a good ranking in Etsy, search, have conversions, and make some sales. Tax advice would be to respond to your five-star reviews. So Etsy has added this feature recently. So now we can actually respond to not only the negative reviews, but to the positive reviews as well. So responding to a five-star review is actually a great way to show a potential customer that you are active on this platform and that you actually care about your customers. And you're eager to thank them for their positive feedback. Also, when you respond to a five-star review, the review is always locked in in your dashboard and no one can actually change it. So if customers will have any further questions or inquiries for the product, they will be motivated to reach you privately and you will have the better chance of actually communicating with their customers directly. But the most essential part is to genuinely thank your customers who took the time and effort into leaving you a heartfelt review. And personally, for me, this is the most important thing to maintain that communication with my customers and not many customers actually take the time to leave a review. And obviously, those who do are truly loyal and amazing customers. There's also a great practice of adding one listing multiple times. You can have multiple products like this and test them with different keywords, with different pictures or descriptions and actually see which one is performing the best. After you see the results, you can deactivate the ones that are not performing. Makes sure not to have too much copies of that. Your customers are not overwhelmed and confused when youth, when they visit your Etsy shop. But you can have two or maybe like maximum of three listings of the same products where you have the opportunity to test each one of them. So recently, Etsy emphasized in our dashboard that Etsy updates are quite important for the customers and that they actually encouraged to visit your shop more and more. I would definitely suggest to take an advantage of Etsy updates because first of all, you can showcase your product in many different ways. You can showcase your workspace or the working process, or maybe a recent photo shoot that you would like to share on your feed. And this is a great way to interact with your customers and actually tell more about your brand. So make sure to post updates often and engage your customers. You can also tag the product that is in your pictures. I always make sure to include the links in your product description. And also make sure that your links are short and easy to understand. For this purpose, I used this website, which is amazing. It's very easy to use and it's totally free. We can also do a cross selling type of marketing in your description. So if someone buys a purse frame, you can actually link the matching wallet in the description. This is, for example, what I do the most often. But depending on what products you sell, you can do a cross-selling and up-selling in your listing description. And another great way to engage your customers and actually make their purchasing decision easier and influence their purchasing decision is to actually have the text on your pictures. So depending on what you're selling, you can have different picture images and they're really easy to create on Canva, for example, I offer my customers many customization features and in my pictures, I make sure to emphasize each option just to help my customers visualize the product. So for example, if I offer additional strap or maybe something that would go perfectly with my bags, I always make sure to showcase this additional product in each of my listing. And I also make sure to include the link in the description. This is why when customers and to my shop, they often by more than one product. If you would like to rank higher on Etsy Andrew specific keyword, make sure to conduct a keyword research on your rank and make sure to pay a lot of attention to ads the competition filled right here, and target keywords with few competition. So this filled right here should be green. 8. Etsy Search Algorithm Update 2025: Hi guys, We're back with yet another update from ETC, including the new etsy search algorithm. So as we can see, the only constant is change with this platform. And we have to actually change and take into consideration all the adjustments that are being made. Especially with this search algorithm. Because if we do not change accordingly to, the algorithm, will have less chance of ranking in search results. So the latest change with the algorithm that we'll be discussing today is To description algorithm change. And it's actually not complicated at all. It's not a huge change, but it's something that would definitely need to acknowledge and actually change some specific locations in our listing description. So here we have this announcement from Etsy and it actually, it actually concludes everything you need to know about Etsy search algorithm, which is super helpful. The one thing that has actually changed is this section right here. So the new Agave, it actually tells us to write more customer oriented description instead of writing like bunch of keywords for the computer, for the SEO. So what we normally would do with the path algorithm was that like we have our main keywords right here in the title, and we would just copy and paste our time, our main keywords in the title right here. And this was kind of a trick to treat the algorithm into thinking that these keywords are our main target. And honestly, it was not a great strategy because costumers would have to read this titles all over again in the description. This is what most of the Etsy sellers currently have in their description titles. And Etsy enrolled this new algorithm change where the first, the first sentence should be like a copywriting done, right? Basically, it has to include some of the most necessary keywords of your product here, but you also have to have your customers in mind. So your first description sentence should be informational, it should be inside thing, and actually, you should motivate your customers to purchase your product. So we have to delete this bunch of keywords right here. And honestly, this was not the right strategy from the beginning. But if you have done that in the past, just make sure to delete it on your listings that are not ranking well because it's a great chance to actually pump. You are inactive listings because it's, the algorithm will start to scan the descriptions. And this is one of the many ways to actually improve your ranking. So this is the sentence that I've chosen for my product. As you can see, it has some of the keywords right here. But one of the most important things is that it's actually a sentence so customers will be able to actually read my sentence right here, understand the concept. And it actually will include some of the keywords that are also informational for my customers as well. Because for example, this purse is convertible. So I'll have to include how they can actually use it. So I'm using my keywords in a way that's actually beneficial for my customers to understand my product and also for the SEO. These are the two manufacturers that we have to consider with the new algorithm. And the next thing that I'd say advises us is to have the most important information upfront. So this is how I've done my description and I've been doing it for a long time. So I use bullet points to actually to have this information like separately so that customers can easily scroll down this info really quickly and understand one of the most important specifications of the product, which might include color, size, maybe ways you can potentially use it. The most important part of your product description should be at the top of your description page rates here. And it will be best if you use bullet points just to make them easily readable for your customers. The next, what we have here is the similar product. So I'm using internal linking right here for the similar product in other color. And I'm using also cross-selling technique where I offer additional products. Right here in the descriptions. It's working really well for my shop and I want everyone to be using this technique. So this is the cross-selling done right? Because I have the listing short URL right here, which I've already shortened. It's not a huge URL that is ugly and confusing. This is already short URL which I edited in the app. So this is the cross-selling listing right here. And I have this actually in my pictures right here. So that way when customers actually scrolling through my product pictures, they will see this additional strap. They will see the texts and they will, if they're willing to purchase, then it's easy for them to do so because they have their picture and I have the link in the description right here. As you can see, my description is quite long. So you don't actually need to do a long description like this. And if you do the shorter one, it's actually better for the customers because they don't have to scroll down all of this to understand your product. But for me, my product is very specific and I just needed this extra space for all the instructions. Another tip is to include some of your keywords all over your description where it actually makes sense. So you have to choose one or 21 of your most important keywords. Like this is one of my important keywords, for example. And I have actually incorporated it in my description as well. So it's all over the place. As you can see, there is another keyword right here which actually makes sense in a sentence. So you have to make sure to have them all over your description just in case it's the algorithm scans your whole description. This will be an additional signal for Etsy that your keywords are indeed used properly. Another thing that I want you to consider is that if your product is performing really well on Etsy, always be careful with any adjustments. So for that purpose, let's go over to earring. Over here. Let's click listing audit, and let's follow this listing on our bank account. So as you can see, urine also tells me to be careful but modifying my listing because it has a good sales history and it has sold multiple times in a very short time. So one of the most important things is a grade. So if you have a low grade right here, then there are some major things that you'll need to alter in order for your listing to improve its ranking. There are some recommendations here that are not necessary to take into consideration. For example, for me, it's the description length, which is quite long for the earring. And urine always advises me to keep it shorter, but it's not the major thing that would damage my ranking. So it's fine if we don't take it into consideration. Other things that we'll need to consider are the titles right here. This is the best analysis of the titles that you can wish for. The paid version that we are looking into right now. Has this all the fields available for you to see and actually understand how many people are actually searching for this keyword, how many people are clicking on it? This is the percentage amount and this is the competition. So here you can see which keywords are actually performing well for your listing and which keywords are the most important ones. So we start our title with the most important keywords as your member. And here is how you can actually find them on earring. This is one of the most important grey lines right here which we need for our most important keywords, because our main long-tail keyword should be used at the start of our title and used in the description. Those best practices for attributes, categories, and descriptions right here. So make sure to take a look to adjust your listing according to this best practices because these are in effect, direct tips from Etsy. If we add a superstar keyword right here at the beginning, you rank might give us the suggestions on which keywords to use in order to improve ranking under this specific keyword, urine will show me if I need to do anything to improve the ranking according to this result, I already have this keyword implemented in my title and in my text. I have it even with other keywords right here. And actually it's the algorithm will understand this keywords separately as well. So I have used this keyword multiple times within my description, my title, and my texts. So I'm good here at the bottom of earring right here we have the previews section, which actually shows how our listing is perceived by Google's search engine. So this is another thing why it's best to actually have a sentence at the beginning of your description instead of just bunch of keywords, because Google actually takes into consideration this first sentence of your listing. So actually, this is a great chance for us to improve our ranking on Google organically or with offside ads, the ads. So let's be especially careful when modifying our bestseller listings, especially when we do anything with the title and tags because that's the main way how we are ranked on Add to Search. And if we have some keyword that we rank really well in, for example, I'm blanking on the first page with this keyword. I definitely should not remove this keyword from my title, from my tags and even from my description. Description was the list attribute that Etsy algorithm actually took into consideration. Now things are changing, so make sure to adjust your description with some of your keywords, but please avoid keyword stuffing. Because ads it does know when you're including keywords for computers and not for your customers. We are done optimizing our listing for the new etsy search algorithm. And we just need to give our products, our listing some time for the algorithm actually to consider this changes. It can also hit they renew button right here. Just to refresh your listing in the SI system. 9. New Image Alt Text Update Explained 2025: Hi guys. So I'm back with yet another update from Etsy and how we can improve the SEO of our listings even further. So if you're active on ads platform, you must have noticed this new announcement on your dashboard regarding alternative text to your images. So today we'll go through the SEO optimization of our images. And honestly, I've been doing this or my Shopify website for years now. And my images have been ranking really well on Google. So if it's the same for search engine, in that case, alternative texts on your photos will definitely have a positive outcome for your listings. So Etsy has added this new feature and this new SEO optimization technique to help improve the search query for people with any vision impairments. So to make their purchasing decision and their understanding of your product easier and basically to help them understand what your product is, even if the picture won't load or they won't be able to see it. So the alternative texts on pictures is also great for search engine bots because basically this text on your pictures will help anyone and anything that can't see to understand the content of your pictures. And that includes bots as well. So this has exactly the same as we do when we're trying to rank in Google Search. And we tried to communicate our product with Google bots and basically help the bots understand the content of our pictures. And this is very important for Shopify weeks, WordPress, and WooCommerce websites, because basically in Google search, your pictures will be able to rank separately if Googlebots know the content of your pictures. So we don't exactly know how this picture will be impacted on Etsy and how they will rank if they even rank separately. But it does say here that this can include search engine bots. The search engine of your listings might improve. The main goal of this new search engine optimization on Etsy is to include the exact description of your picture in your text. So this does not include your brand name. You should definitely use some keywords because this is your product on the picture, but you should avoid over stuffing keywords. And basically, the description of your photos should be a sentence which actually makes sense and not a bunch of keywords. So including these techniques in your pictures might improve your ranking in search engines because this will definitely be a signal for ads, the algorithm that you are trying to rank for that specific keyword and that you are indeed targeting that product. So let's do this optimization for one of our listings right here. I have just found out about this new initiative couple of days ago when it was first announced. And since I have more than 300 listings, I was not able to go through all of them. So today we'll do one of my bestseller listings here. And basically what you have to do is anterior listing. Find a pen right here. And now you are able to describe your listings image in detail right here, including one or two keywords of your choice. So another thing that I want you to be aware of is that this will also impact the listings SEO on external search engine. And this is exactly what I was talking about when I was mentioning Google bots and how this typically works on Shopify, web apps, websites and weeks and WordPress. So basically when you include the description of your image right here with one or two main keywords. Your pictures will be able to rank on others external search engines like Google being or Yahoo. And most likely, we don't know this for sure, but most likely when the bots bulk finished indexing your pictures, your pictures might rank in Google image search, for example, or Bing image search or Yahoo image search. So your pictures will be able to rank separately under the specific keywords as soon as bodes well furnished, indexing it on your advocacy. Page, and this is great for outsourcing traffic from Google search engines and it will help you drive off site traffic to your shop. So basically, this is a great initiative to improve the search engine ranking, not only on Etsy, but on other search engines as well. So let's start crafting a sentence which will be informative, which will be beneficial for people who have vision impairments, and which will also be beneficial for our search engine. The best practices is to aim for two hundred twenty, two hundred and forty words right here. So make sure that your description is not too short, but it's not an hysteresis city to have exactly 250 characters. So let's start by describing our product right here. So this might include color. This might include who, who our product would ideally used. So in my case, this product is for women. It's brown. You should also include the material that it's made from. And it will be great if you would be able to define the size of your product. So what we did here is we have just came up with all these features of our product in one sentence. I have listed here that it's for women, that it's a phone wallet, which is my keyword, that it's made from leather, also mentioned a color here, a size. I mentioned that it's handmade from the finest leather. It's also convertible. This is another keyword leather purse. And I've basically tried to explain what other features it has that might benefit my customers, which is also quite important in terms of keywords and also for visually impaired customers. So as you can see, I have not maxed out my description right here, but in my opinion, this is enough for one product because I have ten more of this pictures to fill out with different descriptions. And this is actually one of the important parts as well that you have to make sure that all of your descriptions are slightly different because each of these pictures might rank under specific keywords. Basically having, having different alternative texts on your pictures. Make each and every single one of your pictures unique. And it gives your pictures chance to be rank separately. So avoid just copying and pasting one description. I will definitely recommend to go and do the copywriting for your product and come up for ten different descriptions for each of your product pictures. This is a great question right here. What happens if I don't add text alternative to my images? So basically if we don't do the optimization of our images and we don't add them in our listings. It's a search engine will take the title of our products and will automatically assign it to all of our images, which is not the worst-case scenario because when you optimize your titles for search engines, you do, you do put an effort to improve the ranking. So basically your title will speak for itself. And I'm sure that your titles are very relevant to your product. So it will not be the worst case if they will be ranking under your pictures as well. But in terms of each picture having a unique description which will benefit the visually impaired person as well and as well as will provide a different information for each product picture, two different search engine bots, I would definitely recommend putting a time and effort into coming up with unique alternative text descriptions and filling out all of your pictures separately. 10. 5 Etsy Keyword Research Tools 2025: Hi guys. So today I want to talk further about keyword research on Erank platform. Because when I was first starting out, I remember this being quite confusing. And I remember choosing the keywords on a random basis, just what I thought would fit my listings most. But without keyword research on your erank.com platform, Honestly, it's a waste of time and effort to choose the keywords only by yourself without doing a keyword research first. Keyword research is super, super important and you should definitely keep out all the guesswork out of your listings because you should know exactly which keywords are generating traffic, which keywords are more accessible to you. And this is honestly one of the most important parts of being successful on Etsy. So as I've mentioned earlier, we have two main keyword SEO tools. Erank and Marmalead. And honestly, you should try both. But in my case, I just think that erank is more precise, it has more options, and it's more user-friendly. In my personal experience, when I first started out, it was a tremendous help throughout my journey. And today, I want to share with you tools that I think will benefit your Etsy shop the most. Number 1 is, of course, the keyword tools, which has multiple keyword options right here, and we'll go through all of them in a second. So basically all of these tools do one thing. They help you with keyword research and choosing the right keywords for your listings, but they have different options within them. So the first one is regular keyword explorer tool. Basically it does the keyword research for you. It's easy, it's simple, and it just in one-click. This keyword has been in fact very popular on Etsy over the past week. We see the searches, we see the average clicks. And this percentage is, I might have mentioned earlier, is quite important because this means that your target audience is really engaged into finding the right content. And they're not just browsing, they're actively clicking on the results page. So this is the competition and I think it's in my opinion a bit, a lot. So anywhere between like maybe a 100K to 200K is more accessible. It's easier to get ranked, but it also depends on average searches. So in my opinion, it's a bit overly saturated, But you can try to rank anyway. You can also choose the target market here. So for me it's mostly US. What I like about erank is actually gives you more opportunities, more relevant keywords right here. And you can see all the data you need right here in front of you. So even if this keyword is not for you, you will see similar keywords here which will help you to choose the ones that are really accessible and really relevant to your listings. Make sure to always check the CTR right here. And honestly like if it's more than 100 percent, in that case, it's golden. It's a golden keyword in my opinion, because usually in my niche, in my market, it's below 90%. 106 means that your audience is super engaged and the conversion rate in this option is also, is also quite high. So like for example, if you have this product than this keyword is like one of the keywords that you should include in your title because of the high CTR, the quantity of people who searched and then clicked for this particular keyword, for this listing under this particular keyword. So in this case, the competition is quite low. As you can see there, like a good number of average clicks, but this searches are not as high as we would like for our main keyword. So what I would recommend doing is choosing couple of keywords, marking them here and adding them to your keyword list, which we'll discuss in a second. And then choosing the most, the keyword with the most searches and the most Clicks within your chosen keywords, So in your keywords list. So this might also be one of your tags or one of your secondary keywords as well. But I would definitely recommend to focus on the keywords with more searches. But makes sure to always take into consideration the competition here as well. So For example, this keyword is very nice right here because it has very few listings in the competition area. The searches for one keyword are pretty decent, and the clicks are also on point. So this is basically this divided on this percentage. Yeah, you can just skip this part right here and focus on the percentage, this searches and the competition. This was the keyword explorer tool. So this was just for exploring. And this is very similar tool called Keyword Tool. So the difference between these two tools right here is that the keyword tool actually gives you more insight on the product specification itself, including the average price, including average views or like daily views, total viewers and average hearts. So this is basically the same tool, but with this additional tabs right here. So you can just skip the explorer tool and use the keyword tool instead. This gives you the same related keywords right here, which will help you tremendously to explore other options of your listing titles as well, instead of just having one basic keyword. So what I usually do is I write down my main keyword right here, like basically what my product is And then I searched for additional search terms that I might use in addition to Long tail product title. And as you can see, the silver jewelry silver ring is very frequently associated with the gift. So this is an additional sign that you can also market. Your listing as a gift, as an anniversary gift, a birthday gift, or a Christmas gift. So this is very important to make sure that you diversify your listing titles as wide as possible because you don't really need a lot of keywords of the same product. So you might as well just target for different keywords, then you have a greater chance of ranking under multiple keywords, under multiple section and attracting more customers. So this is the gift section right now. And with the gift keywords, they're very, very competitive. But you might find the ones that are suitable for you and that are not overly saturated as well. So what I want you to focus on in this tool right here is also the average price. And I've talked about this in my previous video, but just make sure to have this in mind. Because if you are marketing a product like over the $100, in this case, this keyword is not really for you, even though it gets a lot of views. And maybe it is the product that someone might give to another person. People looking for this specific people searching for this specific keyword. I'm motivated to pay just like 20-30 and a maximum of 40-50 doors. So make sure to keep this price point in mind. The next tool within the keyword tools is the bulk keyword tool. And essentially this also does the same thing. So if you have a list or you have the idea of what you are searching for, we can type in and save time. So for example, I just typed in five of the keywords because I couldn't think of More since it's not really my product. But just to give you an idea of what it does, it gives you the perfect opportunity to compare your chosen keywords right here. And it has all the data except the price and average views. But if you click on them, again, it will direct you to a keyword tool where you will be able to see the specific information for this one product. So to sum up, in this case, you can use either bulk keyword tool or compare keywords tool if you have multiple keywords that you want to research at the same time. Another tool that I saved for last in the keyword tool section is the keyword list. So basically when you like the keyword, you can just click this. This star right here, and I have already maxed out my keyword list. But if I make the new one, then it will still be available. So you will add this keywords in your keyword list where you will be able to monitor them and later use it on the next listings as well. This is a great tool and I have already created a list with 50 keywords right here. And you can do this same one like this. Now, let's head over to the next section that I would like to show you is monthly trends. So this tool is actually great for two reasons. One, it's a perfect idea source for your next product because it has a lot of ideas on what products are currently trending on Etsy. So if you're looking for an idea to create a new product that will be in demand on this platform, you can just go ahead and browse the categories, find your category and find the keywords that are actually are searched for very often. Another great thing is that if you already have a product and you can see that some of the keywords that are trending actually can be applicable to your product, already existing product. In this case, it's a great way to source some new trending keywords for your already existing product and bump this product in the search results. So from the shop setting right here, there's another tool that might be useful to you if you've been on this platform for more than a month or so, so some of your listings are already ranking and you would want to see which ones and what position they have. So this shows the page that they're on, Etsy. And this is the position on that first page, for example. And this is the time that it was last spotted. This is actually quite accurate and this is great for keeping track on your listings and which listings are actually performing well. And I would definitely recommend syncing in your erank with your Etsy account. Because in that case, you will be able to pull all this data from your Etsy account to erank platform. So the next tool is listing audit, which is essentially the way to alter your listings to comply with Etsy algorithm and the best practices to get found on Etsy. So basically this is one of my listings right here. This is not the best performing listings. I have more than 300 listings, so not all of them are best performers. Most of my listings have more than 90%, 95 percent of visibility score. But this is just one of the listing that I didn't work much on. As you can see, those people who searched for it are converting quite well. So in this case, this is the new listing and this is why it's actually law in visibility. But what I want you to focus on is actually this recommendations right here. So right here you can choose a superstar keyword and then you erank will check your description for this exact keyword. So my advice would be to Focus on one keyword, mostly on one keyword at a time. Then you will be able to optimize your listing specifically for this keyword. So superstar keyword tool searches for this particular words in your descriptions, in your titles, and in your tags. So if this particular keyword is not found within your description, for example, this means that you should definitely make a change and alter your description. So in my case, this is not actually a silver bracelet, it's a leather bracelet. And you can see that it's present in all of the above placements right here. The next what we have here as the tips that this listing had been sold multiple times. And when you see this sign right here, it means that you should definitely be careful with altering anything on your listing and especially the title and the tags right here. So these two have the most impact on their SEO. So if you have a listing that is performing well. Just make sure to be very careful with adjusting anything on this listing because even a tiny adjustment, like for example, removing one keyword or removing one tag might have a tremendous impact on your search performance. So the other tool that I want you to focus on is this tool right here. So basically it shows you the tag performance of this tag right here that we have chosen, has this many searches, this many clicks, and this is the competition. This is the best practice for Etsy attributes and four categories and the description. And if you're first starting out, I would definitely recommend to read all of those above, because this will be a great guide for the optimization of your overall listing. And this are the best practices from Etsy itself. Erank is specifically designed for Etsy. In my opinion, it's a great tool to monitor the performance of your existing listings and optimize the new ones for the future. And the last but not least, this is the competition listings section, which is quiet of a sneaky tool, where you can put the name of the shop, which you feel is your competitor. And you can click to analyze this shop listings. So this is our dashboard here, and this is an error. I don't have any missing attributes, but sometimes erank does this. This is how many of my listings are spotted on Etsy. And it's a little bit more than 30%, which is quite high for any store right here. you should never expect this to be a 100% or so because with having a lot of listings, there comes a certain, a certain struggle of always trying to differentiate all of your listings. For example, always try to come up with new titles, different keywords, different tags, and sometimes it becomes quite exhausting. So like having a lot of listings is quite hard sometimes. So I always make sure to monitor the performance of all of my listings. And if some of them are not performing well, I make sure to deactivate them And like push for the listings that are performing well to make them perform even better. This is all about the Erank. I would definitely recommend you to check out the other tools as well. As you, as you've noticed, some of them are quite similar, but honestly they're all great. And this is the only tool that I use for Etsy. 11. How to Change Titles in 2025 - New Update: Etsy has rolled out the new update, which we just have to discuss because it's super important for your visibility. So let's dive into it. The way we write titles on our listings has completely changed, and we have to keep up with these changes in order to remain visible on Etsy and push our product to the right audience. So Etsy rolling out updates quite frequently. This is why we update our course on a regular basis. But this update is particularly different from all the others because it specifically changes the way And as you know, from our previous lessons, titles are one of the most important parts of our SEO strategy. It's how our customers find us. It's how we describe our product, and it plays a major role in the visibility of your listings. After this update, the focus from titles has shifted a bit, and Etsy now tells us that it's not as important as it was before. And of course, we have to do keyword research, but we don't have to pile our titles with a lot of keywords, and Etsy has become much smarter throughout these past few years, and it actually understands the content of our listings and our product, even without stuffing our titles are with a lot of target keywords. So mainly, the reason behind this update is to make it clearer for our customers what our product is about, what materials is it made of, what color it is, and all the necessary attributes that help our customers with the decision. And also the new way that we now will learn how to do titles includes much shorter version of what we used to do in the past. So let's dive in and let's see this new guide that Etsy has rolled out just recently. And here we can clearly see what changes we need to integrate in our listings. For example, in the past, we used to write the gift keywords in our titles to emphasize that this product can be given as a gift and also to rank for this specific keyword, which is quite huge on Etsy because Etsy has become this, like, gift oriented marketplace, and everyone is trying to use this keyword. But according to the last change, the gift keyword that includes, like, gift for him, gift for her, like a birthday present, like, I don't know, anniversary gift and stuff that we used to use quite a lot in our titles is now has to be removed. We can, of course, use it in our text and in our description, but it's not as relevant in the titles for our customers, and mostly it's just done for the SEO purposes. So this is why we remove it from our titles. So the next one is, like, beautiful, perfect, the best. So these words are no longer relevant in our titles. Remember, the titles now have to be clean, short, and very precise and descriptive. So anything that does not fall under this category and is mainly used to promote our product in any other way rather than describing it has to be removed. I've never reinforced these keywords, for example, the sale, free shipping. I would never write them in our old titles, even before the update, but right now, it tells us not to include these keywords specifically. So anything promotional that does not describe product, as I said, should be removed. The only thing that we should keep in our product titles is for example, color, material size and the information that is actually useful for our customers in order to understand our product. So now we mostly focus on our customers instead of the SEO. We make our titles more human. And this is actually quite a trend because Amazon also started doing that a while back, and it's all about the user experience now rather than SEO game and keyword stuffing. So this is, for example, our product which has the old titles right now. And as you can see, there are a lot of things that need to be changed after the update. For example, the gift keyword, we will, of course, remove. We will make this title much shorter. We will leave the words that are important, so we will still need to do keyword research for this. But instead of choosing four or five keywords that are similar to each other, we will now focus on one and maybe like two keywords per listing. Should definitely uh, try to avoid repeating keywords or writing them in, like, different ways. This is the old way how we used to do it. But right now, like, one keyword that describes your product really well is enough. Um, and of course, it has to be easy to read and easy to understand. This tool is designed to help us to do that. And especially for shops that have a lot of listings, like I do, it comes in handy. This is Etsy search visibility section that appeared on Etsy a few years ago. And here we have the new section that is basically suggestions on our existing product titles. So if we hit update titles, here we can review our listings that Etsy suggests that needs improvement. And basically, this is quite a lot of listings, honestly, because all of my listings are done the old way. The only thing I would definitely recommend is not to change titles on the product and the things that are working really well for your shop. So try not to change best sellers, products that have high visibility and are selling really well. Just keep an eye on them. And if you see a sudden drop in sales and, like, visibility and likes, then you can change it. But I would definitely not recommend messing with the listing that is performing well for you. Besides the best sellers, we can change all of our product listing titles from here. And all we have to do is do like this pen right here. And if we want to add something to this suggestion that Etsy actually made for us, we can, of course, write it here. Right now, Etsy has changed our listing titles completely on its own. And the new title is basically what Etsy thinks will work best with the keywords that we have on this product. So here we have long title with a lot of keywords that are repeated. We have the gift keywords and stuff like that. And here we have this main target keyword that Etsy deliberately left for us and, like, other important information that would be useful for our customers. So I think it's pretty short. I would definitely change some things about this listing. For example, I would add one more long tail keyword after the keyword research process. But other than that, I like how easier easier this process has become. The main goal is to help our customers understand our product. So we can include these gift keywords and other target keywords in our tags at the bottom of our listing. But rather than that, we can leave it as it is, or maybe add some high demand log tail keywords after this instead of this. If we don't want to change the titles on all of these products, we can just unselect them and proceed with the one and proceed with the ones that we feel can benefit from changing the title. Um, in order to check if your product is doing well, you can visit the statistic page and see which listings are performing well, so we don't change anything about them and work on the listings that are not generating the exposure that we need. So for example, if we go into this listing and scroll down, we will see which organic searches and keywords broad customers to our product. Here we will see the clicks that was brought by Etsy, the clicks that were actually brought by Google, because we know that our listings are also seen in Google. It can be an organic search or it can be paid ads, but we also have a lot of customers from Google who find our products, our Etsy products searching from Google Search Engine. So here we can see the keywords that are working for this listing, and we will try not to mess with these keywords, and we will try not to mess with this product. If you want to alter the titles of your listings, remember to check this graph anyway for each product because you don't want to remove keyword that is working well for your product. So if you want to make the title shorter, make sure to check the stats first for this product. Remember which keywords are bringing you traffic and make sure to leave those keywords in the titles and just remove other ones that are not showing up up here. So this is the newest update, and I recommend doing this right away. And if you are struggling with choosing keywords, remember to use ERNG. We have a keyword research lesson here in this course. This new update is very different, as I said, from others, and I think it's designed to make our life a little easier. We don't have to repeat keywords and, like, choose a bunch of keywords for one product, and we can just focus on quality product photos, interesting descriptions, and, like, what makes our product unique. Rather than entering a bunch of words. So I think it's a good thing, and I think Etsy understands our product now much better than than it used to do before. And this is why we need to focus less on Etsy algorithm and a CEO and more on our customers. So make sure to write titles that really speak to your customers and make it easy to understand what your product is about. This is the new way, and I hope you guys will find it very interesting and fun to work with your new titles and see you in the next lesson. 12. 10 Minutes to Create a Listing on Etsy: Let's add a new listing in 10 minutes. The first time you actually add your first listing on EtS, of course, it's going to take you much longer than 10 minutes, but after a few tries, after a few products, you will learn to do it faster and more efficiently. So let's get to it. The first thing we need to do is go to our shop manager. You can go from here from the Pan option and then go to a listing section where we will have an option to add a new listing from the bottom on the right top corner. So now in the first section of our listing page, we just have to choose the category for our product. You will not be seeing any categories from this drop down list because this is my top categories that I've been using frequently. So in your case, this field will be empty. What do we do in that case? How do we choose a category? Because the first category that you choose right here is actually of much significance. So it's very important to choose a very niche category that is specific to your product. So the easiest thing to choose a category to put right here is to actually go to ADC and two categories right here and then find similar products. For example, in my case, because we sell high backs and backpacks, I would choose a backpack category from here. And now I see that one of the main categories is bags and purses, and then the niche category that falls under bags and purses is backpacks. So in this case, the people who would want to buy a backpack would choose a backpack category. And in this option, we have fewer competitors. So it's actually better if we go to niche categories. We can actually go and see other categories from this section. For example, if I do handbags, in that case, I have an option to choose even more niche products. For example, handbags and cross body bags. So in this category right here, the competitiveness is much less rather than in the first two. The main point is to get the people who browse products on EtS through category fields right here to be able to see your product um, under the category of your choosing. And it's easier to do when we pick niche categories, and I would choose to pick at least three. So in this case, there are three categories, and my product will appear in all of those three categories. If you don't want to do this, you can actually go to Ebnk and choose a tool called category tool. Here, it does exact same thing, but it just shows you the category right away. We put cross body bags, we do the lookup and it will give us the exact category for this particular product. Here it is, it's the same. You can also see the popularity percentage for each category that is suggested right here. In this case, I will go with a cross body bag. And my product appears in all of these three related categories and subcategories. Okay, let's go to the next step. And if you have been on Etsy for quite a while, I want you to know that the list uploading process has changed a bit since the last few years. And usually when we used to upload products, all of these items would be in one listing, but now it just gives you it gives you more opportunities to, for example, explain how your product was made. It gives you separate field for that. So it has changed a lot for the past few years. So here we're just choosing if we want to upload a physical product or a digital file. In case of a digital file, in this particular option includes only digital downloads. So if you're uploading that kind of product, you can of course, select this, but in our case, we'll be proceeding with a physical item. So now there are simple questions like who made this product, and Etzi basically wants to know everything about the production of each product. This is why it's so important to be transparent with Etzy regarding the production and how you source your item. So this is a finished product. In our case, when was it made? How does your shop produce the item? So in my case, it is made from scratch. If you are doing print on demand, this is a production partners for this listing field, which you have to fill up with the instruction from the print on demand website. Okay, let's go next. And now we have our listing, which will now have to fill out with the relevant information concerning the product. So the first one is title, and the title field is the field where we put in the main target keywords for our product, which we of course research in earing. So by now, you have to have the keywords ready. Paste them in the title right here. These are my target keywords for this particular product that I'm uploading right now. We have gone through the keyword research process. I will not be doing it right now for all of my keywords. Enter the keyword and see that egarchesEverg clicks and competition are all in green. And I'm actually really, really glad with these numbers for a single keyword. There are great statistics, though. So I will definitely be using this keyword as one of my main keywords in the titles to prioritize the keywords that we feel are most important for this particular product. For example, if I think that this keyword is doing particularly well and is very relevant to my product, I will want to include it at the beginning of my title. By doing so, I let AT algorithm know that this keyword is the most important one. In the title, the first three keywords are usually the ones that are prioritized by algorithm, and also customers see the first keywords most often rather than the other part of the title. So this is why make sure to put your most important high quality keywords in the beginning of your title. The next thing to do is to upload our photos, and we have them, of course, ready, and also upload a video, which is great for conversions. And I definitely recommend you to shoot a video of your product and upload it even if you are doing it with a mobile phone. This is what Etsy says about the video that listing that have it get more conversion. So this is why I definitely suggest you to shoot a video and put it right here. The next thing that we have to do is actually to include our keywords in our Alt text. If you're new to EDs, you have not yet seen the Alt text, which has rolled out in the last three years on this platform, and this is what Et actually took from other platform that has been using Altext for years like Shopify and other platforms that actually help Google search as well to index photos. But mainly Altex was created for people who have visual impairments and use screen readers to understand the content of a photo. It actually also serves search engines for the same reason. So it's very good for us to help search engines to understand what our product actually is, and we do it by using keywords. So this is the Italian leather handbag, one of the keywords that I have been using in the titles, and I'm just pasting it right here and clicking Apply and then clicking Done. So I'm doing that for all of my photos, and I suggest you do the same. I know it's a bit of work, but it's definitely worth it. And your Etsy listing photos might even appear in Google Image search after you do that because they're all indexed by Google. The product has to be shown from all angles. Also, if it's an accessory, it has to be worn by a human, I don't know, a model, a family member, wherever you choose to represent your brand, but it has to be shown as an accessory, like styling it, wearing it, et cetera. The reason behind that is also that people like to imagine themselves wearing or using your product. And also, it helps them understand the sizes and the dimensions of your product better as well compared to white background. After that, we have our thumbnail, which we can set from here and use this section right here to adjust our thumbnail the way we want it to be shown in search and in our shop manager as well. And the thumbnail is one of the most important visuals that you will use for your product because thumbnail determines the clicks that your product will get when it finally appears in search results. Make sure to your first product, have your first picture be the most I don't know, eye catching and click Worthy so that it actually drives traffic to your entire store. After that, we have description, and my description consists of several factors. After Etsy started indexing description and getting keywords from our description, I started to write it differently, which includes best practices that Etsy suggests us using. So which mostly is including this first selling sentence in the beginning of your description, including keywords that I want to rank for very organically throughout my content. And after that, of course, I have bullet points, which outline the most important features of my products that I want customers to see right away. So it's mostly benefits. It's mostly that this product will last a lifetime, premium quality, et cetera. After that, I have dimensions, which are very important, of course, to have in your description. I have the description of the leather that I use. So you have to actually write all of the instructions that you want customers to know, including how to take care of your product, the materials that are used, et cetera. So the full information regarding the product. After that, we have the personalization, and it depends if you're offering something custom and unique. You can always edit. You can always edit later as well, but make sure to put it to activate this button right here, which makes the personalization optional for the buyer. So if someone wants to just simply buy a product, they don't have to put anything in this field. Okay. After this, we have price, and if you offer one variation, you can write the price right here. But if you offer different options within one product, then you'll have to the products are different within the price, you'll have to add the price separately for each variation. Here we have the quantity. And here we have the variation options. So if you offer different products, you can add them using the predetermined variations, but I actually recommend creating your own variation. So if I'm doing, for example, the size, I will do size right like this, and I will add all those variants for different price and if I have different quantity for each. For this particular reason, let's do a different price and hit Apply. So I can sell a small purse for $200 and the medium or like 100 and the medium for 150. One thing that's left to do is to manage variations. And manage a picture for each variation. So if I have uploaded the picture of a small sized purse and a medium sized purse and I want customers to see the exact product when they hit on these variants and try to choose them, in that case, I will have to just activate link photos to this variation and select a photo. So, for example, this one, and, for example, this will be medium, and I just hit done. Okay, and hit apply. The last thing that is left to do is to fill out attributes and texts. In order to get in front of those customers who are filtering categories, we need to fill out our attributes right here, which also includes strap options, material, which is super important. If you can find your exact material, primary color, in my case, it's brown. If you offer a product in two colors, single product, then you can type secondary colors as well, and primary fabric type, in my case, it's real leather. Make sure to fill out all of these attributes which will help algorithm and also customers to find your product throughout all the alternatives. We can also go as far as fill out everything. Doesn't necessarily mean that your product will sell well on holidays like Christmas and stuff. So don't go changing that every holiday. Just make sure to highlight one that you think is most appropriate and just stick with it. After that, we have the second most important part of our SEO regarding uploading listings, which are text. So titles and texts are two most important aspects that determine ranking of your listing. Of course, other parts like photos, photo quality, photo text, description, and everything that we've been through also plays a huge part in ranking as well as the price and the product itself. But in terms of doing on page SE and keywords. Titles and tags are the ones that are most important. So in terms of tags, these are just additional information, keywords that you have to put here, but customers will not be able to actually see them. So you are doing this just for the ADC algorithm and just giving additional information regarding your product using keywords. In this particular case, we use, again, long tail keywords as well as we did while doing titles. So if you have more keywords that you have not used here in title, you can also use them in text. And you can also use the keyword that you have used in title. So kind of kind of, like, tell Etsy once again that you do feel strongly about those keywords, and you do feel like your product is what is stated in the title. The only thing is that the tags won't let you do more than 20 characters. So in this case, we have to split tags separate long tail keywords. For example, this will be a leather belt bag, and I can also use additional tag with one of the keywords and make a new keyword. Try to reach for something new. I can use gift keywords again. I know they're very competitive, but I want to take an opportunity to target them as well. I'll try to include maybe a a style of the bag and something else. The most important part is actually to fill out all of your text. So use 13 texts exactly, no less and make sure to research all of your texts in EAC. Here we have the 13 keyword options as well, but we don't actually have to use 13. Just make sure to write the exact materials that are used in production of your product. And if you use two, three, it's completely enough for now. Will also help your ranking if someone tries to use the material you're using as a keyword. So the only other two things left are shop sections, and if you have not yet created a shop section, you can do it from here, and I definitely recommend creating a lot of sections for different types of products. Firstly, it's easier for customers to browse your products, especially if you have a lot of them or we have a lot in the future. It's easier for them to browse. It's also indexed with keywords. So we use keywords for all of our section names. I definitely recommend uh, separating your product and doing an easier navigation for both SEO and your custom prints as well. So this is all for our product. It turned out to be actually great. And yeah, it took us a bit more than 10 minutes because of the explaining, but I'm sure you will do it much faster next time. 13. 5 Top Traffic Sources for Etsy: Today we'll discuss top five traffic sources for your Etsy shop. Number one is organic Etsy search. Organic traffic is usually the most high converting traffic out there. So it's always best to first invest your time and efforts into creating quality organic ranking. So there are a couple of key steps that we need to take in order to improve our ranking in Etsy search, having a good number of Listings will go a long way. Your listing should have different titles from each other and Always try to rank for as much different and unique keywords as possible. Do keyword research on erank before uploading a listing. Add new listings constantly. It's especially important for new Etsy shops, but it's also quite important for well-established Etsy shops as well. New quality listings often have the priority in Etsy organic search, and they also rank higher for quite some time after posting Etsy loves active shops And for the most efficient results, it's recommended for new shop to add at least one listing per week, And For a relatively older shops, I would definitely recommend to add at least two listings per month in order to remain active and relevant. This second is my personal favorite, Pinterest. Pinterest is one of the most powerful social media sites in the US after Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Pinterest has over 444 million monthly users worldwide And most of these users are here to make a purchase. Your pins have a long shelf life on Pinterest, which is great for driving traffic in a long run as well. I've had pins on Pinterest that I've uploaded three years ago that are still generating traffic for my Etsy shop. As of the beginning of 2022, more than 75 percent of its user base, where women, which is the main target market for most businesses, most of its users are millennials and older users who are well-off, have more disposable income and are focused on purchasing higher-quality sustainable products. In order to optimize a Pinterest account, there are few steps that we need to take into consideration. Create a business account to be able to advertise in the future, and also to have access to all of your pin data and analytics in your pins use vertical images. Pinterest algorithm always prefers vertical images over the horizontal ones And also according to statistics, most of its users browse Pinterest on mobile devices And vertical images are considered much more optimized for mobile users. Create idea pins and videos, often. Since these two are latest edition to Pinterest, they usually gain more views easily in a shorter period of time. Also make sure to add text overlay to your pins for Pinterest algorithm and make sure to fill out all the unnecessary fields when creating idea pins or videos. You can also create ads on Pinterest from a business account, which are very much alike to Facebook ads. You can choose your target audience on Pinterest by their interests or the keywords that they're typing in order to find a certain product or even include both of those options in your Pinterest Ad. So I've personally quite enjoyed working with Pinterest ads, It's a great tool to drive conversions and traffic to your website. And if you have tried Facebook ads at least once in your life, it will be quite easy for you to do the Pinterest ads as well. So the only downside that I can think of is that Pinterest is also quite expensive, maybe not as expensive as Facebook ads, But at first stages, you will need definitely some minimal budget. And you can't really monitor how many people purchased your product from your Etsy store. From Pinterest, you can only monitor that statistics from your own website when you have the Pinterest tag installed, you can actually apply for a free consultation And Pinterest experts will help you set up your first ad. Creates smart Pins. Smart pins are essentially usual pins on Pinterest, where you include the link of your product in the pin itself. So when Pinterest users see this pain in their feed, when they click on it, they are redirected to your Etsy shop. Optimize your pins and boards, create relevant boards to store your pins and use relevant long tail keywords. Pinterest is essentially a search engine with its Own algorithm. And like with most search engines, in order for your pin to rank, you need to use long tail keywords. You'll also need to do a keyword research and use relevant keywords in your boards title, pin title, and also the description of your pin. Just make sure to avoid keyword stuffing and keep your descriptions short and enticing and informative. And citing product pictures, which will stand out. Pinterest is super visual platform and the quality of the pictures is very important in order for your pen to get re-pinned. Also makes sure to create fresh content regularly and focus on creating pins instead of re-pinning you can also find relative popular group boards on Pinterest with a lot of contributors request to join and contribute by pinning quality authentic content. Use semantic keyword ideas for pin titles And also you can see the demand on each of the keywords in Pinterest ads. So the third in our list is obviously TikTok. Tiktok, was the most downloaded app of 2021 with 656 million downloads. Tiktok is now more popular than Instagram among Gen-Z users in the US. Tiktok is great for creating Trends. Your video on TikTok has much more potential going viral than on any other platform And I've personally witnessed many businesses, including my own, to gain a huge amount of traffic in a short period of time on this platform. Make sure to create new content regularly keep an eye on the trends And sometimes you might also want to use trending sounds with your videos. Because TikTok has become so competitive lately, makes sure to consider improving the quality of your video and audio. Also the storytelling aspect of your videos is very important. So what would the users potentially gain from watching your TikToks? Are they informational, entertaining, inspirational, or educational? Tiktok is a great way to showcase your product in videos. And it's even more popular right now than Instagram Reels, but it's also quite competitive, So make sure to decide on your niche and come up with fresh and unique content regularly. Number four is the classic Instagram and Facebook. Instagram and Facebook are definitely top social media platforms in all the age groups And your business definitely has to have both account to establish a decent social media presence. But because these platforms are so huge right now, it's almost impossible for new businesses to gain organic traffic and organic engagement on any of those platforms for free. If you have the marketing budget, you can start promoting your product on Instagram and Facebook and Drive outside traffic to your Etsy shop that way. So depending on which countries you are targeting, Instagram and Facebook ads might be quite expensive for you. Especially if your target audience is in the US, you might have to spend quite a lot of money on Instagram and Pinterest ads. Before you figure out the right strategy and derived segment that will work best for your business and before you will actually start seeing some profit. So Instagram reels are actually trending right now. It's a relatively new feature from Instagram And Instagram is pushing reels from all kinds of creators much more than regular posts in order to keep up with TikTok. So if you'd like to rank organically on Instagram, attract new customers, and you have a talent for creating videos This is your chance. The last one is Etsy Offsite Ads. Etsy Off-site ads is sometimes a great way to drive traffic to your Etsy Store outside of Etsy but with Etsy. So Etsy Ads charges 12 to 15% per sale from Etsy ads. Etsy offsite ads advertises your listing throughout the web, including in search engine results like Google and Bing, social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest, Etsy publishing partners sides and Google Display Network site. Etsy may automatically advertise your listings on the platforms that it sees fit. And unfortunately, you have no control over which Platforms Etsy advertises your listings on. And you have absolutely no control over this platforms or cost-per-click. In terms of managing Etsy ads there's not much you can do except choosing the listing that you would like to advertise and the daily budget. When you start with Etsy ads at the first stages your listings might not get seen at all, But it's still a good practice to monitor the statistics of your listings and the cost every single day. At the first stages in order to determine which listing Etsy will favor and actually show to your target audience. It's great practice to set a daily budget that you are comfortable with and advertise all of your listings at once for at least a week to see which will perform the best. The performance of Etsy ads often depends on the quality of your listing. So listings that have been sold multiple times and have high engagement tend to perform better in Etsy search. But you can also try to boost other listings that you want to perform better as well. The performance of your listings in Etsy ads does not directly impact the organic search, But if your listing has gained traffic through Etsy Ads and increased the quality score through increased sales, your listing might rank higher in Etsy organic search as well. So one of the most important factors in ranking in Etsy ads Are the keywords of your listings. Some keywords are usually more expensive than others because of the high competition. So if you advertise a product with long-tail keyword instead of broad keywords, your Etsy ads cost might be lower and you'll have more chance of reaching your target audience. Etsy loves active shops that constantly bring traffic to their website from other sources And usually Etsy will favor those shops much more. When I first started on Etsy, I was actually actively posting my product on Pinterest, creating smart pins and redirecting customers to my Etsy shop And actually this tactic helped me tremendously to boost my Etsy shop and improve my ranking. It's very important to drive the right traffic to your Etsy shop from all the social media platform that you will use. So you need to users who will engage with your content, with your Etsy shop, with your listings and prove to Etsy That you are a quality Etsy shop with good conversion score. 14. AI SEO - Artificial intelligence: We've previously discussed all the traditional ways of incorporating a SEO friendly keywords throughout our listings in order to optimize them for the search engine, this is indeed a great place to start. But now in 2023, I would like to tell you that there are easier ways that we can generate effective keywords and SEO friendly Descriptions by utilizing AI, AI SEO refers to the use of artificial intelligence technology to enhance and optimize Search Engine Strategies. Today, I would like to introduce chat GPT, which is my personal favorite AI tool, that I use across many platforms like Etsy, Shopify and Amazon. So with chat GPT, we can do a lot of things like generating keywords for our listings, Writing SEO friendly descriptions, and also writing emails and messages for our customers. Chat GPT is an Open AI product and Today I'll show you how to use it while creating our Etsy listings So we have to login with our email right here. And now we have three different tools that we can use. This is the one that we'll be discussing today, which is basically a chat version where you can give chat GPT different tasks and receive a very, very useful responses. So for example, I have a product right here which I'm going to post today on Etsy. It's a brown leather purse and I need some keywords right here, and I need the description right here. And Today I'm going to use AI in order to generate those components. So right now I'm giving chat GPT as simple task to write Keywords for this particular product. You can make it as long as descriptive as you'd like But for the purposes of this example, I'm just going to keep it short. So here are 20 keywords that we can implement in our listings And one of the most important thing that I would like you to do before actually including these keywords in your title is to check it on Erank. So we'll copy one of the titles right here, go to Erank Keyword Tool and paste it like this. Now we can actually check if this keyword is acceptable for us. In my opinion, this is indeed a very descriptive Keyword for this particular product, but it does not have many searches and many clicks. Now we can check another keyword. This keyword data is a bit too saturated, but in my opinion, it has a decent amount of searches and the CTR is great So we can include this keyword as one of our keywords in the title. So after we've checked the keywords in the Erank and included all the essential Keywords that we think will work great for this listings, we can do SEO friendly description with the help of AI. So now I've given AI a command to write us SEO friendly description for the same product. And just let's see what happens. This is actually a great SEO friendly description with our main target keywords included, which when know is essential for the Etsy Algorithm, which has started prioritizing keywords in the first two sentences of the description. Algorithm does take into consideration the entire description, but the first two sentences should be filled out with our main target keywords. So as you can see, this is a great copywriting right here. All we have to do is just copy this text and include it right here. Now we can make some adjustments and actually check if this description is exactly what we need for our product. Always make sure to check the results from the AI to make it more human and actually make sure that it aligns with your product. So we can separate this description in order to make room for the bullet points. So all we had to do now is ask AI to write us bullet points for this Listing. With bullet points, we actually have more chances of attracting customers attention to the most important features of our product. In my opinion, this bullet points are bit too long for this description, and I prefer my bullet points to always be short, clear and very precise. So let's ask the AI to make them shorter. This is actually much better. We can now copy this and paste it directly in our description. So now we're ready to post this description And as you can see, it took us about four or five minutes to generate Keywords, check them in Erank, and then ask AI to write us description for this product. And it's actually the easiest way that you can do a SEO on your listings And I would definitely recommend because it saves time, it is easy and you can focus on more important things that you can do in your shop. Another great thing that we use AI for is actually writing messages to our customers And it's one of the best features that I use in my customer service practice. If I would like to thank any of my customers for their purchase and just show gratitude I sometimes struggle with coming up with different texts that sound authentic And actually, this is a great way and you can tell AI to write Many different texts for your customers and be as specific as you'd like. So this is a great text written in a professional manner. And you can just include your product name and change customer's name and it's good to go. So now what you can do is actually alter the tone of the texts to fit your brand or maybe your personality And this is very easy to do. All we have to do is ask AI to write the same exact texts in a friendly manner. You can see how AI has changed the tone of the texts instantly. So here we had thank you so much for a recent purchase we truly appreciate your trust in our brand and choosing our brown leather bag. Your support means the world to us. And even in this first sentence, we already can see and sense the change in tone. Number one, how much time do I need to spend in order to succeed on this platform? As I mentioned earlier, this platform loves active shops, And when you put effort and time into your shop, it will definitely have much faster results. Being active on this platform is especially important for new Shops, who are just starting to establish their online presence. When I first started on Etsy, I spend on average two, three hours a day optimizing my shop and adding new listings. I always advise my students to have some products ready to post, which includes product pictures, copywriting, keyword research, and things like that, before you open your Etsy shop. And then after you open your Etsy shop, you have this products already ready to go and you can be active on this platform from the day one. Number two, how much income can a seller generate on Etsy. This is very subjective, According to what product you're selling, what is the price point of your product and the volume of your sales. Relatively expensive products, usually have lower conversion rates, but higher profit margin. If you're selling relatively cheaper products, customers usually need less time on a purchasing decision with cheap products And your sales and traffic and conversion rate can go up through the roof just overnight selling on Etsy. Number three, why Etsy and not Shopify. As I mentioned earlier, those two platforms are completely different And at some point you should start selling on both of them simultaneously. This being said, Etsy is a huge marketplace with a huge traffic that Etsy has already brought to you, and which need to direct to your Etsy stpre. Shopify is a stand alone website and you have the possibility to build something of your own and drive free traffic from Google to your Shopify store as well, which needs a little bit more effort, but it's totally doable And really possible. With Shopify, you have your own website and you have the possibility to give your brand and identity and something solid and something that you can actually look at and show your customers, on a local markets, stuff like that. And it's something that you'll always have and no one will ever be able to take it away from you. Question number four, Are Etsy ads actually worth it. Unfortunately, we have very limited options nowadays when it comes to Etsy advertising, and Etsy ads, and especially with offsite ads the fees, the percentage is quite high. If you've made more than 10 000 dollars a year, there's a small discount and you can advertise your listings for just 12% of your listing income from the ads. If you've made less than $10 000 a year, The fees for your offsite ads will be at 15% per sale. We don't have a way of controlling our cost per click, We don't have a way of managing how many people will potentially see our listings, or how much will cost to advertise any of our listings and mainly today, Etsy ads are very automated, which at one point, it takes away from the creator the pressure to navigate the marketing world, But on the other hand, it gives us very limited tools, When it comes to managing our Etsy ads. Despite all this, I still think that every Etsy shop should try Etsy ads at some point and In my opinion, it works for most Etsy shops. Etsy advertising is not cheap because there's high demand on Etsy ads right now because the market is overly saturated With different creators, and especially with some fields, it's quite expensive. The cost of your Etsy ads mainly depends on the product you are selling and your niche and how many other sellers there are out there bidding on the same spot on Etsy ads search results. In my case, I'm selling quite expensive products which are over a $150, So I have the possibility to include the Etsy ads fees in my product price. I'm advertising just over ten products a day, And the budget for each day is set for a maximum of 60, $70, depending on the period. If there are holidays, my budget is higher, my spending cost is higher, And sometimes Etsy ads don't even spend this much. Even though I have my Etsy ads limit set on 60-70, $80 per day, Etsy ads might spend 30 or $40, On some days when the traffic is low. I spend roughly 2 000 USD on Etsy ads per month, And from my experience, I make three times that much in just Etsy ads. So In my case, it's worth, And you just have to see for yourself after some time, if Etsy ads will be generating a return like that. Because anything less than two times your Etsy ads cost, is not worth it. You have to be quite careful with Etsy ads, When you are first starting out, And you have to monitor how much your ads spend and generate throughout the week And make sure that after a week or ten days, you are already generating some profit After your Etsy ads. quick tip, before you enable Etsy ads, I would definitely suggest working on your Etsy SEO and adding listings and just optimizing your shop so you have your right target audience and your Etsy ads cost goes to the right audience and not just some random, overly saturated keywords. Etsy ads cost mainly depends on the keywords you are using, And the product quantity that those keywords obtain. Number five, can I ask someone to build an Etsy shop for me and manage it? There are some organizations that work on specifically building Etsy shops and managing them, But I will definitely recommend being really careful with those services. Couple of years ago, a lot of companies like that got shut down by Etsy and a lot of shops that those companies managed from one IP, from one device got automatically shut down. So it's a very risky thing because when you use one device for multiple shops, It's a potential risk for all of those shops. So it's always good to be careful with your Etsy shop and the devices that you use to log in into and access your Etsy. Number six, and this is the question that I get asked most often. How much time does the Etsy algorithm need in order to show your listing to a wider audience? This again, is fairly subjective. Sometimes Etsy bumps Your listing at the top of the search results just to see how customers interact with it, to assign the score to your listing, and to assign how relevant it is to that potential and existing keywords. So for a short period of time, your listing my end up at the top results page with sellers with high volume of sales And this is a great thing, because if your product is good and you have great listing and a product description and pictures, your product might even established its place in the first five pages of Etsy results very quickly and it will bring your shop tremendous traffic. We also might encounter another scenario which is a bit more frequent when Etsy algorithm needs a little bit more time to rank your Listing and this process is a bit slow, But after some time, if your listing is optimized right, You will notice a huge amount of traffic coming up out of nowhere, after like a month that you posted a listing and there has been silence, For example, one day you might wake up. and encounter hundreds of potential customers visiting your shop. This means that your listing just woke up, Etsy has just a signed it a good place in Etsy search results after months of being inactive. And this means that you should never give up on your listings, which, you know, are optimized right. This can go both ways, Some of your listings might have high exposure in shortest period of time and some listings might need a little bit more time, So you have to be patient with the algorithm. Young first sale on Etsy is the most exciting experience and there's nothing more beautiful than that first cha-cha-ching sound. The first sale mostly depends on how many listings you have listed in your shop, on your keywords, on the listing quality on the description, on the pictures, and little bit of luck. First Sale, can take anywhere between one week to five month, which is a bit unpredictable to be honest, but it depends on a lot of things including the price of your product. Your Etsy Shop might start working when you least expect it. My first sale occurred after three months of listing My first 15 products. And honestly I was about to give up. So You should always continue working on your shop and listing products in your shop, optimizing your shop, even though there might not be many sales in the beginning. And you should never give up And you should never think that this dry period is because of your product or something else. Mostly the algorithm just needs more time to list your beautiful products and you just have to be little bit more patient with it. Number eight, how many listings should I have in order to succeed on this platform? Each listing is the opportunity for you to get seen, To get sales or traffic, and just to establish your listings position in the search results. I've noticed turning point, at 35-40 listings, and my shop just started to grow. After that. I started gaining some serious traffic. The customers knew that I was serious about my shop because I had over 40 listings and often you have forty listings your shop actually looks very presentable and it looks like you as a seller really care about it. Currently, I have more than 300 active listings in my shop and I'm actually doing the maintenance work every now and then where I delete listings that are performing poorly and not bringing me at a traffic or a sale, so that all of my listings are high-quality and have good conversion rate, which is also important for an Etsy SEO, number nine who is responsible when the order gets lost in the mail? As a seller with high volume of sales, I've experienced every possible scenario, the Etsy, the customers and shipping and anything you can imagine, I've gone through this. So naturally I had lost couple of packages in the mail. And I have my own solution to this problem. According to Etsy sellers handbook, if you as a seller, ship your product on time with a tracking number, if your product gets lost in the mail, you are not actually responsible. But on the other hand, the customer who also suffered during this transaction and didn't receive any product or their money back is also not a good thing. So what I am personally it do first I go to the post office to file an official form for the lost package. This happens after like three weeks that there's no show of my package. When The package gets automatically declared by the posts. They actually do reimburse you with some amount, But if your product is expensive like mine, you want to be reimbursed fully. I send a replacement product right away. And then I wait for the reimbursement for the lost package and the shipping costs. This is in my opinion, the best thing you can do for your customer and to maintain your customer Base and keep them happy. Number 10: is it hard managing an online Etsy business? I get this question quite often because some of my students are usually really scared When they imagine themselves running high volume Etsy shop right now. But there's something you have to consider, This didn't happen tom me over night. Just five years ago, I was selling my work on the streets, on the street fairs, on different markets. And I had no funds and I was working from home. If someone would have told me back then that I would have my own Workshop, my own factory at the age of 25. I would have never believed them. But this is the thing with work and dedication that if you set your mind to something and you have concrete steps that you need to achieve in order to achieve your goal, then most likely your dream will come true. Building an Etsy shop is like building a house, you have to do it brick by brick. I was able to achieve this with no funds running a business from a third world developing country, working from home. And you have to take into consideration my niche market is located in the US and my customers wait three weeks, just receive their package. So can you imagine what you can do in five years if you start selling and start working on your shop today. 16. Final Project: Thank you for finishing my course.
