2. Course 1 - What is personal style?: Defining your style personality starts with knowing who you are and what image you want to project, giving you clarity and direction in finding your style. So, knowing who you are and what image you want to project will help you to find your style. But what is personal style? Personal style is creating a visual picture of yourself through clothing, showing your distinctive character. When you meet people, the first thing they notice about you is your physical appearance, and when they lack information about yourself, they may judge your character based on what they see. So your appearance creates a picture of who you are: your clothes, make-up, hairstyle, body language, and how you talk and carry yourself. So style is more than the clothes you wear; it's the total package that should be in harmony with what we see on the surface with what is inside. It's the image you choose to project and how you want to be perceived by others. But personal style is also a powerful tool to express your mood, emotions, and passions through the clothes you choose to wear. When you are happy, you are most likely to wear an outfit that uplifts your mood. However,
when you are down, you can also choose clothes in vibe colors or just a bit of high heel shoes that can lift your spirit. For example, wearing a suit for an important meeting can give you the confidence you need and a professional look. So selecting clothes that express your individuality gives you the power to choose how you want to feel and how you want to be perceived.
The most important aspect of style is a distinctive appearance. As Diana Vreeland well said: "Style is originality." Be original, learn to embrace your style, and dress in a way that should highlight the essence of who you are: your likes and wants, your desires and goals, your aspirations and dreams. These are the factors that complete your individuality yet show your original style. Establishing your style means finding a look that works for you and makes you feel good yet show your identity.
3. Course 2 a - Why is it important to have a clearly defined style?: The next topic will cover why personal style is essential and why you have to dress according to your personality. fashion preferences and teach you how to create a style that makes you look good

knowledge and tools needed to create a
personal style that's authentic to you and help you confidently and stylish
navigate any situation. So join me on this journey of self-discovery and
style exploration. And let's help you
create the appearance you've always dreamed of. How you dress is an
expression of who you are. And style is a great
way to express your personality by dressing and presenting yourself
in a certain way. So style can be a tool for self-expression
and self-empowerment, allowing you to feel more confident and in control
of your appearance. Also, style can be a
way to communicate your professional
or social status and a way to express your
mood, personality, and values. So overall style can be a powerful tool for self-expression and
personal branding. The secret is to choose a style based mainly on
your personality, to help you design the
image of your best self and cultivate the character you wish to embody in different situations. This allows you to create a role for yourself that is authentic and genuine
and gives you the freedom to evolve
and Transform as needed. Furthermore, by
selecting the style that resonates with
your true self, you are allowing yourself to express your unique
qualities and strengths and project an image consistent with your innermost
desires and aspirations. Ultimately, this can help you build a sense of competence and self-assurance and
navigate life's challenges with grace and ease. If you are looking to
create your unique style, starting from the inside
out is essential. This means getting to know
yourself on a deeper level and finding ways to express your personality through
your appearance. One great way to start is by taking time to reflect on who
you are as a person. What are your values, what are your
interests and hobbies? By understanding these
things about yourself, you can develop a style that
reflects your true essence. Once you have a good
sense of who you are, it's time to start
thinking about how you can express that through
your appearance. This might mean playing around with different colors, fabrics, and styles to find what
feels most authentic to you. It could also mean incorporating accessories or jewelry that
have special meaning to you. Remember, creating your style
is all about expressing your unique personality and making a statement
about who you are. So have fun, be creative, and most importantly,
stay true to yourself. So to create a style that works for you and not against you, here are a few tips. Start with what you like. Take some time to identify the colors, patterns, and styles you naturally gravitate towards. This will help you create a wardrobe that you truly love. Second and very importantly, know your body type. Understanding your
body type is essential for creating a style
that works for you. Choose clothes that flatter your figure, and make you feel more confident and also
consider your lifestyle. So consider the activities
you do regularly and choose, comfortable and practical clothes. Your style is more than just
the choice of clothing. It's your image,
destiny, and armor. It's a powerful tool
to communicate with the world and express
your unique personality. How you dress can strongly influence people's first
impression of you. So it's essential to pay
attention to your style. And ensure it
accurately represents who you are and how you want to be perceived. So look at your style as a journey because living
a life full of style requires a willingness
to embrace change and the understanding that your
style constantly evolves. So style is not a destination
you can arrive at, but rather a process you
must continually work on. However, by setting your mind
to it and take action, you can master your style and create a unique expression
of who you are. So don't be afraid
to experiment, take risks, and be
open to new ideas. Your style journey is ongoing. and each step is an opportunity for growth and self-expression. So embrace the process
and enjoy the ride. The keys to creating
personal style, are self-esteem, creativity,
and experimentation. By following these
three principles, you can develop a
truly unique style. But the most important step you should start your journey in finding and creating your style I,s to be honest with yourself, this can be difficult and
uncomfortable at first, but it's worth it. Once you are honest
about who you are and where your
style comes from, you will find that
your personal style will naturally
begin to take form. Furthermore, it
can help you build confidence knowing that this is how you'd like
to look and feel. So let's talk about each
of these three keys. Self-esteem is the foundation
of a good sense of style. A person's confidence is an integral part of
how they dress. If you don't feel
good about yourself, your clothes will reflect that. And when you feel
good about yourself, your clothes will help you
project that confidence. So if you want to create
your style, remember, building your unique
sense of style is simply accepting
yourself as you are. You don't have to
change who you are. You can conform your clothing
choices to who you are. It's easy to get caught
up in trends and fads, but it only comes down to it. Those things won't last forever. They will change along with the season and
maybe even weekly, while you will always
be there for yourself. So take this opportunity to explore what makes
you feel good. Try some new things out. There is no better way
to learn than by doing. Creativity is another element to take into consideration when
developing personal style. Because it allows you to step outside of the box
and try new things. Also, it allows you to find new ways of expressing
yourself through clothing. Whether it's by adding a unique accessory or changing up the color
scheme of your look Being creative helps
you express who you are in a way that no one
else can do for you. And finally, experimentation is an essential part of
creating a personal style. It allows you to try new things
without fear of failure. It lets you explore your interests and
inspirations without feeling like you have to conform or fit in with the
norm of society. Allowing yourself
to experiment with new ideas is essential to
developing your unique look. Experiment with different
styles of clothing. Try wearing sweaters instead of a jacket or a skirt
instead of jeans. You'll never know
what might look good until you try it
out for yourself. Experimentation shows you
just how much potential you have within yourself. The more you experiment, the more confident you become
about who you really are. What is the secret to
creating a distinct style? Your style is more
than just clothing. It's a way of
expressing yourself. It's about the things
that you love. It's about what
makes you feel good. So when someone asks you, what's your style? It can be
hard to know how to answer. But if you are looking for a
bit of help getting started, here are some quick
question to ask yourself. What do I like? What feels good? What do I love about myself? How can I make myself
feel more confident? Once you have answered
those questions, it's time to start
building your own style. So the first thing to do is
get in touch with your style. You might want to consider what kind of clothes
make you feel good, which colors look best on you, or how different fabrics
feel against your skin. Once you know what
works for you, start building an outfit around these things that feel right. Knowing what you want is
another secret to great style. And in achieving this is to
understand your own taste. So it can be challenging to
know what you like, and even, more difficult to find
clothes that match. But if you take
the time to learn about yourself and your tastes, it will be easier to find
pieces that reflect who you are and what you
want from your wardrobe. Also, you should
not just look at fashion magazines
or follow trends, but also understand yourself
and your preferences. This means defining your style and finding what works for you. When it comes to style, many women seem to think
it's about wearing the most expensive clothes and accessories or having the
most up-to-date looks. But really great style is
much simpler than that. It all comes down to fit. When you wear clothes
that fit well, they make you feel
confident and comfortable. and when you look good in what you wear, it shows in your
face and demeanor. It's impossible to have great style without
feeling great. Having a great style
means that you are confident and comfortable
with yourself. And you can express
your personality in every outfit you wear. And one of the most powerful ways to express your
individuality through clothing is by creating
outfits that reflect who you are. as an individual. That's when your style will become more than just a set of clothing. It will become a reflection of who you are and
what makes you happy.
5. Course 2 c - Cont. of Why is it important to have a clearly defined style?: what is the first sign that shows a mismatch? The young woman's appearance: cocktail dress, old-fashioned jewelry doesn't match her modern hairstyle. Second, her choice of clothing doesn't show her age. If you see Simon's reaction when the girl said that she is 21, he said, Really? Third, the first song she sings doesn't show her passion for singing. She mentioned that she has been singing since she was two years old. You could feel that she was unnatural. She was on the stage to perform and nothing else. Her appearance doesn't reveal who she is: her personality, her age on her passion. Simon has noticed the discrepancy and advice her to persuade them that she's a great artist, Tyra Banks's reaction was on the spot when she said: keep it young. Also, she immediately took the jewelry and the shoes off and mussed up her hair. And, notice what the girl said. I feel more comfortable anyways. The moment she started singing the second time, you can see that she was comfortable. and feeling good in her skin. Everything was in harmony appearance, attitude, and emotions. She was able to deliver the message and the feelings of the song, engaging with the audience, she convinced everybody that she was a great singer. So what is the conclusion of this video? To create the first impression, you have not only to be well dressed and look polished, but also to feel comfortable and show a side of your personality in order to send the right message, the young woman couldn't send the message she wanted on her first attempt. The whole appearance and the choice of the song didn't match who she was, and she couldn't deliver the message she wanted that she's a great artist with an impressive voice. But the second time, after she got into her skin, without heels and jewelry that empowered her, and a better song choice. She impressed the judges and the audience with her performance, sending the same message that she's a great singer. To be the best version of yourself is not only focusing on what clothes and accessories to wear.
So, do not dress only to impress others or to be in the theme with a song like the young woman in the video did, because the authentic style encompasses your inner beauty, what you value the most, what you want to become, how you envision yourself. So trust your taste and wear what makes you feel comfortable. Express yourself through what you wear, because style is an extension of who you are. The clothes you wear reflect who you are. Your character should match your style and personality, So the clothes you choose wear should match your personality. Also, your style reflects your passions and goals, so find the style that tells a story about you. Style projects the real image of the person behind the close. So don't try to wear clothes only to look great, to have a great appearance. Find a style that makes you feel more like yourself. The purpose of having a defined personal style is not only to emphasize the best of your body figure, but also to highlight your distinctive character. To be Authentic

Her signature style is a provocation, revealing a bold character, and Selena Gomez masters the street style with an effortless yet put together style and a youthful look.
7. Course 3 - How to create your personal style: Building your personal style starts from the inside out. As we talked about before, your character and personality play a significant role in finding and creating your style. But also, your personality is the one that has an impact on your likes and dislikes. Why do you like certain garments and dislike others? And the same with colors, prints, and designs. The best example is when you go shopping, you see a beautiful outfit on a mannequin. Your friend would say try it on. But you say it's not my style. You feel that no matter how beautiful that outfit is, it doesn't reflect who you are. It doesn't suit your personality. So your clothing choice, the way you dress up, reflects your style, influenced by your personality and character. A great example is the legally blond movie, where Reese Witherspoon plays very well. Elle Woods's character, She dresses like a Barbie doll, ponk outfits with a girlish attitude, carrying around her dog. The moment she arrives at Harvard Law School. She looks like she doesn't fit in that environment, even though she proves that she's smart. Nobody takes her seriously. Why? Because her appearance doesn't reflect the right message for that context, she is knowledgeable and trustworthy. she has realized that she has to change her way of dressing. She has many attempts: choosing to wear a pink suit imitating Jackie Kennedy's attire. But what she needs to understand is that she has to dress so she can convey who she is to that specific audience, which was different than her hometown audience. She has also to understand that imitation does not create her personal style and Does Not. Equal Aqurate message. So to show her capability and to be noticed by the teachers, the first thing she did was to change her appearance completely. She has started wearing classic pieces in neutral colors and even changed her hairstyle. As you see in this picture, she's studying while wearing a simple pair of jeans with a top. and a pink belt. Her look shows that she takes her study seriously, too. So what she realized is that she has to go through a transformation. Ah, but remember, this is a process. It cannot be done overnight in one move, so she gradually changes her style until she finds the outfits that work for her personality and sends the right message. As you see in this picture, she wears a pussy bow top with polka dots. There are feminine elements that express her personality, but the overall look sends the message of a mature person that has found her style and identity. So remember, what you wear tells the story of who you are now.
8. Course 4 - ttract success through your personal style: Why is personal style so important, and Why do you need a personal style? First, to build confidence and self-esteem, improving yourself into a person who is worthy of admiration and respect.

Think about how you feel when you put some effort into dressing up, put some makeup on, style your hair, and wear some heels. Your look is pulled together; you feel beautiful and confident, ready to conquer the world. Looking your best all the time is the key to building your confidence and gaining admiration and respect. Because this is the power of personal style: when you look good, you feel good. Second, to create a personal image that allows you to evolve in your career and personal life. It's human nature to evolve in life, to go through a transformation not only physical but spiritual, intellectual. How dramatically this transformation commands personal progress that starts with the way you look. If you remember when you were a college student, you had your uniform: jeans, a shirt, and a pair of sneakers. However, when you started looking for a job when attended job interviews, you pay more attention to the way you dress. You start upgrading your look from jeans and a t-shirt to trouser suit. And here's why. Because you want to impress, be credible, show respect, and prove that your look match
with the message, you want to send. All these aspects are related to your image, which is reflected in your appearance and style. Third, it helps you set goals and succeed in all aspects of your life. Because success is not to be pursued. It is to be attracted by the person you become.
00:02:06.970 --> 00:02:11.000
Achieving a great personal style, increasing your confidence, and improving your image, empower you to set goals and work consistently toward them. Evolving and building up a solid personal style helps you to create and achieve a great image. It's your trademark that you will be recognized by and will give you the advantage of being known.
9. Course 5 - The five style personalities - Classic style: There are five common style personalities that we will go over, and you will discover which one you relate to the most. However, remember you are unique. Maybe you won't fit in precisely into one of the style personalities. I have chosen a few style variations to offer as examples, so it would be easy for you to find your style personality. There are five style personalities, classic and conservative, natural sporting, dramatic, creative, feminine, elegant, modern chic. We'll start with the classic style. The classic style is clean, safe, and traditional. People with classic style value classic pieces over trendy ones because they know what works best for them, and they stick with it. They like to have a uniform, a look that reveals their personality attributes, but also timeless and flattering. Classing personalities are attracted to timeless pieces and structured pieces. They don't like to wear busy prints on trending pieces because they don't want to make a statement with their clothes. Instead, they want to impress with their character. Women with strong personalities usually prefer a classic style. Elegance, refinement and simplicity are the keynotes for the classic style. As Coco Chanel said, " Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance." A woman who prefers classic style will wear for business attire, a simple sheath dress. that shows a well-defined waistline and a blazer that emphasizes the shoulder line. And she will wear classic accessories like pumps, pearls, and a structured bag that perfectly relates to the classic style. Classic Casual makes you think of a uniform: a pair of jeans or trousers with a button-down shirt or a sweater. Classic Causal with a pop of color reveals A-line skirts or dresses in neutral colors or the classic combo: trousers with a blouse and a cardigan in soft colors. Classic with a modern twist recreates the classics combining them with modern pieces. Victoria Beckham masters the modern style, showing an artistic flair in mixing up the classics with modern pieces. A variation of the classic style is the preppy style which is defined by plaids or tartan prints. Nautical garments, stripes, polo shirts, bright and pastel colors, headbands, bow ties, and feminine details like embroidery or floral prints. The best example of the preppy style is the Ivy League school uniform, as the Gossip Girl movie reveals through the inspirational characters. The adult preppy style reveals classic pieces in pastel colors that reflect a laid-back yet
00:03:52.130 --> 00:03:53.050
polished look.
10. Course 6 - Casual/Natural style: The casual natural style looks for comfort, loose fit, and low-maintenance clothes, natural fit and relaxed. Usually, people who adopt this style are friendly, athletics, and love outdoor activities. Casual staples are jeans, T-shirts, sporting garments in earth-tone colors and easy-care fabrics. Business Natural reflects a simple and relaxed outfit. A classic dress with a comfy cardigan. On-the-go practical and versatile accessories like flats. a tote bag, and a pendant necklace that suits the active lifestyle. Casual natural meets comfort and laid-back outfits that reflect a practical and relaxed. style. One of the variations of the natural style is the athleisure style, but the Athleisure personality style doesn't reflect basic occasional clothing. They seek comfort and flexibility, mixing high-low pieces, sporty clothes with tailored pieces, so they don't look too casual. In this picture, we have a pants suit paired with sneakers with a sporty jacket style. What makes this outfit stand out so they don't look casual and sporty? The answer is the designer bag, and the fur stole that elevates the look. The Tomboy Style resonates with an adventurous and bold personality, revealed through staple pieces. jeans, plaid shirts, blazers, baseball caps, masculine-style shoes or military boots. A woman with a tomboy style, prefer casual clothes with masculine inspiration, which they style according to their body shapes and sense of style. But their look and silhouettes are still feminine. Tomboy style is borrowing from a man but wearing it like a woman.
11. Course 7 - Dramatic/Bold style: the main characteristic personality traits for people with dramatic style are creativity on enthusiasm. They, like, know how to make an entrance, wearing clothes with a wow factor. People who are attracted to this style, like to wear the latest trend clothes not only to make a statement, but to be noticed and admired for their original. and unique approach to fashion trends. Bold style assures to trigger a reaction, so you make sure you have a personality that can handle that. Here is an example of a bold business style, a simple dress with one stand-up piece, a Blazer with ruffles, and accessories are on a large-scale note: a bold necklace, a pair of heels, and a fashion-forward bag with prints. But be aware that bold doesn't necessarily mean colors, but sometimes shapes for accessories like in this image. In these pictures, we have a dramatic style with classic pieces paired with a fashion-forward blouse with dramatic sleeves and minimalist accessories. Artsy style is another good example of a dramatic style featuring both prints and colors that reveal a strong and artistic personality. The whole look, from head to toe, exudes eccentricity.

A feminine style can also be dramatic, borrowing elements from the dramatic style, like a blouse with puffy sleeves on bold earrings, the images show two variations of the family style that are, in contrast, dramatic versus classic
13. Course 9 - Modern/Chic style: the modern chic personality is the essence of looking great and stylish all the time, showing an acute sense of fashion. The main characteristics of this style are naturalness and refinement. This person can be a trendsetter because she finds creative ways to match unique pieces and knows how to adapt fashion trends to her personality. However, this person doesn't follow the fashion trends. Instead, selectively chooses trends that give her the chic factor. Please take the time and read the characteristics of this style with regard to accessories and colors. I know there are a lot of details on the slide, but you can also find them in the downloadable pdf file. Smart business attire will create a business look with a simple dress and fashionable blazer in trendy prints or colors. Stylish accessories will complete the look, and they may very: a classic bag with bold earrings or just an elegant piece of jewelry, like a brooch or bracelet reflecting a subtle elegance yet a whole chic ensemble. You can create a modern chic style built on classic chic pieces by adding on-trend earrings, a chocker, on-season bags, and shoes. Or you can create a modern chic style, wearing classic pieces in unexpected ways. Style a classic pantsuit wearing the blazer with a modern belt, and roll up the sleeves a little for an effortlessly chic look. Or upgrade a regular office outfit with a flouncy dress and pumps to add the chic factor.
14. First steps on your style journey: The starting point of building your personal style is to begin wearing classic pieces. as straight-leg pants, A-line or pencil skirts. Later, you cultivate your sense of style by trying different styles of skirts and dresses, mixing and matching prints, and playing with accessories. Start simple. When you begin your journey toward creating your style, wearing basics: a tee with a pair of jeans and sneakers, it's an easy outfit to pull off. Play dress up and down with accessories: swapping sneakers with heels and adding a personal touch with jewelry. Then, take a step forward and learn a more sophisticated way to refine your style. Start layering clothes by wearing a blazer or a button-down shirt over a basic tee. Learn about proportions and how to mix and match colors and textures. At this stage, you start learning advanced tricks, such as the third layer always elevating the look. Mixing patterns give the chic factor to any outfit, and finishing the look with a contrasting bag or shoes is a modern approach to a classic outfit. Finally, after you master those tricks, you become confident about your style. You can perfect both the basic and advanced steps well, so they became instinctual skills, helping you to evolve your style. As you have established a foundation for your style, you'll be able to put together essential clothing and transform them quickly into an up-to-date outfit. One aspect to take into consideration and start building your style is to correlate your style with your physical features, body shape and facial features. I have chosen as an example Iris Apfel, who is a style icon, very known for her unconventional style and strong personality. In this picture, you have young Aris with dramatic features, angular face, prominent cheekbones, dramatic eyebrows and coiffure. She wears a white collar button-down shirt and pearl earrings that are classic pieces. The whole look has a modern vibe. and it is in harmony with her physical characteristics. Later, her style has evolved, letting her artistic side personality and her passion for textiles and design show off through clothing. Here is an interesting fact about Iris Apfel and her husband. They were involved in several designed restoration projects for the White House. As you see in this picture, she wears statement earrings and layers of pearls, bold colors,s, and a turban. All the elements suggest a bold, dramatic personality style. However, her style keeps evolving, with refined fabrics, drape lines, predominant natural colors contrasted with modern patterns reveal an excellent taste for fabrics. Her look borrows elements from dramatic style, patterns, and contrasting colors, yet keeping the look chic and subtle classic. Later on, she found her signature style: round glasses and red lipstick. Interestingly enough, she kept the bold accessories to express her artistic side. In this picture, she wears a fur stole, bold prints, and jewelry with a fashionable hairstyle. Her whole appearance exudes a strong personality, yet a youthful look. So, keep in mind; style personality is based on your character and physical features. It's a connection between your physical characteristics, facial features, body shape and
00:04:27.970 --> 00:04:29.310
your personality, indicating that your body is in harmony with your soul. The goal of finding and cultivating your style personality is not just to dress your body, but to create a balanced system between who you are and how you look.
15. Final tips: I want to share with you a few final tips. They're not meant to replace the information provided in the course, but to reinforce them. There are some jobs that are inflexible in their dress code and demand a certain uniform. For example, If you are a nurse or a doctor, you must wear a scrub. If you are a lawyer, you'll wear a suit in court to impose respect and credibility on your client. But outside of your job, you like to be more relaxed. Wearing casual pieces, such as a pair of jeans with a T-shirt and sporty shoes. So draw clear boundaries between your job on your personal life. Do not identify your style with your job.
