Are you afraid of illustrating people? I designed this class to help you overcome your natural fears when you think of drawing human figures. Doodling people is a great fun, and it can develop you in so many ways.
Who this class is for
This can be a great practice session for you if you are a beginner at people drawing. We're here to develop confidence in you by learning simple people illustration step by step. The skill that you can learn in this class can also be a great help when you will make your urban sketches.
What you will learn
We’ll be doodling plenty of simple little human figures in different body poses. First, you learn how you can build up your figures from simple 2-D shapes like rectangle, triangle, or ovals. Then we will add further details to our subjects, and make them look more realistic by drawing some simple shadows on them. As we're moving forward, we will draw more and more details, and more and more complex little human figures.
Doodling people has several benefits. It acts as a form of meditation, helping process your thoughts and emotions while enhancing cognitive functions. You can improve your perception, observational skills, hand-eye coordination, and last but not least, it’s a great fun.
What tools you need?
During this doodling session, I’ll be using an inexpensive office paper and a regular ink. Alternatively, you can use a pen or even a pencil. Your skills will develop in similar way. You will just get a different look.
Additionally, I’ll be using a middle gray marker for illustrating some shadows on my little figures. This marker is optional. Don’t worry if you don’t have it at hand. I'll show you how to draw the shadows with the ink.
But if you choose to use a marker, note that the ink is tend to seep through the paper, so I’ll be using a paper board below my paper to avoid unwanted traces on my desk surface.
Learn & practice
Now, I hope you’re excited to dive into my simple people doodling session. Let’s make some fun by drawing tiny little human figures together.
