About This Class
This 10 minute class will teach you, step by step, how to transfer images on fabric in an easy way. After completing it you will be able to transform any piece of fabric, from a simple T-shirt to a giant sheet -depending on the time you want to devote and your patience- and make it completely yours.Â
When it comes to DIYing, I find that the funnest part is enjoying the process and not trying to be perfect. If you want something perfectly printed, probably you will need to pay some extra $$ and ask a professional printing store to do the job.
However, I believe that you will be amazed by what you can make and transform with this method. You'll be able to bring to life photos from your craziest adventures, decorate your couch with throw pillows with your favorite quote and so much more!
In case you are not sure of what to transfer - I got you covered there too! I totally realize that it is not for everyone to have a photo that truly means something to you on your pillow. Or you feel that you don't have that good photography skills to start with.Â
I'll save you the trouble of searching for the perfect images online (we all know how time consuming that can be) and I'll give you few images and quotes I made for you, ready to be printed!Â
So grab a cup of your favorite beverage and let's do this!

Transfer you own image on a piece of fabric or download one of the attachments to use. Be creative and transform a tote bag, a tablecloth or whatever you have!
Are you a bit skeptic regarding your skills? No worries! You can always try on a scrap piece, realize it's a piece of cake to do it yourself and get started!Â
WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS
You will need:Â
- your images - printed from a laser printer or laser photocopierÂ
- canvas / fabric piece
- Copy Transferer - a "glue" that helps your print to get transferred on fabric. I use PowerTex (European brand) BUTÂ you can also use Mod Podge that is easier to find worldwide
- cutting board or a hard surface (such as a cardboard)
- Scissors
- Brushes
- Water
- Sponge
- Iron
- Blow Dryer
Steps:
- Cut your image so it is as little white space possible around it, but don't over stress about it if it is a super detailed image
- Put the hard surface / cutting board under your fabric piece. If you are using a two-layered piece (pillowcase, tote bag, t-shirt) put it between the two sides.Â
- Gently brush your transferer on the surface of your image. Make sure you put a thick enough layer so it will stick on the fabric, but be careful to not over-soak it because it might tear apart on your hands.
- Glue it (right side down) on the canvas/fabric. Use a spatula, your fingers or a piece of toilet paper to push all its edges on the fabric.
- Blow dry it
- Iron it
- With a damp sponge gently scrub of the paper layer.
- Blow dry it again
- Ta da!Â
Please note that the images will get transferred mirrored and that they might have a grungy look around the edges.
Personally I love this handmade look because it adds to its unique character.Â
