This course is ideal for animators, illustrators, graphic designers, creative artists. In general, anyone who wants to create professional typographic animations with the leading motion graphics software on the market. With patients, a positive attitude and perseverance you will succeed. Your tongue is now joined occurs in animate as a professional level 2. Before to Start: Hi there. I'm so glad you have decided to take this course. I will teach you how to create incredible typographic compositions quickly and easily. After each lesson, I will provide guidelines to ensure you get the best results possible. So make sure to follow them in practice. By the end of the careers, you will have gained the skills to animate the four course projects. Like a professional, I am excited to see your work, so please upload your projects to the course project gallery. If you have any comments or questions, feel free to pause them on the discussion board. I can't wait to see what you come up with. So let's get started. 3. First Steps: Hi there. Before we start animating the project, Let's get in touch with the After Effects interface. We're going to work with a standard workspace, but you can choose your preferred option. The first step is to create a new composition. So we go to composition, new composition. Open a new 1920 by ten at composition at 24 frames. Gave it 5 s, and name it. Perfect. Now, with the help of the Text tool, we write the world creative. Let's take a quick look at the After Effects interface. The panel where you see the texts is a viewport. This panel shows the results of our designs and animations. At the bottom, we can see the timeline panel. This panel is where you will spend more time creating the animations. From here, you can easily modify the transformation properties of the layer. If we look to the left, we can see the project panel where all the compositions we create, an aldol files we import will appear. And at the top we can find the essential tools. Now, we are going to learn the most null keyboard shortcuts for this course. The chart goods refer to the layers properties and the commonly used tools. Let's the how to open the layer properties with a single click. Press a for the anchor point. P for the position S for this scale are for the rotation and T for opacity. Now, let's see how to access the main tools with the touch of a key. Press V for the Selection tool. Hold the Space-bar for the hand tool, for the Zoom tool. W for the rotation tool. Why for the pan behind tool and Control T or Command T on Mac. For the Text tool. It's about practice, projects and resources. You have a PDF file available for download with the most helpful shortcuts 4. Let's Start: Hi there. In this lesson, you will learn how to prepare your first typographic composition. This initial setup process is very similar to all the projects we will be doing throughout the course. And once you apply it, the first time, it becomes very fast and simple to apply it to new projects, we can easily modify the text from the Character panel. As you can see, it's a very simple and intuitive panel with the typical options of any other Adobe software. If you can't see it, you can activate it by going to Window character. With the layer selected, we modify the font. I am going to use Poppins. It's a font is often used for my Motion Graphics projects. I am going to adjust the size and scale it vertically. I don't like to modify the proportions, but I have room for exceptions. Finished, I am going to leave it white and we thow stroke. Now we apply the reptile fact to our texts. We sell at the text layer and go to Effect Stylize reptile. Thanks to these Effects, we can create a pattern of our texts in all directions. We must increase the value of expanse, right, pan, left, expand down and expand up. If you can't see the Effects Controls panel, you can activate it from Window Effect Controls. But there is a problem when applying the effect directly. We cannot create a space between the words and the result is a bit chaotic since it can be difficult to know where the word starts and ends. Luckily, the solution is very simple. We just need to pre-compose the text layer. So let's remove the effect. We right-click on the text layer and click on pre-compose. We give it a name and click on. Okay. And with a double-click, we entered a new composition that we have created. Now the idea is to adapt the composition size to the text we have created. To do this, we click on the region of interests option, this little symbol here, and create a rectangle around the texts, leaving a little space around the texts. This space will separate the words when applying the repartee effect. That seems perfect to me. Finally, we go to Composition, Crop Comp to Region of interests. This way, we can adapt the composition size to the texts we created. Let's go back to the composition project one. And now, yes, we apply the rubber tire fat and apply a value of 5,000 in all directions. In the timing option, you can choose the press at you like them. I personally really like the brick option. Also from the Effects configuration options within the timeline panel, we can find composition options. These very interesting option allow us to highlight the original texts over the rest. I am going to apply 35%. Great. With these. We will have our composition ready to animate it. If we reduce the scale, we can see that it text is repeated over and over again in all directions. But for the first project, we're not interested. We want the text to look beer, so we're going to leave it as its original size, 100%. In the next lesson, we will create the first project of the course. See you there? 5. Project 1: Basic Distortion: Hi there. In this lesson, you will create the project you see on this green. Very simply. First, let's create a background. We go to Layer New Solid. We name the layer and apply the desired color. And we drag the layer below the Text Layer. Good, we apply a gradient to make our texts more attractive. To do this with the selected layer, we go to Effect Generate four color gradient. When applied, a four color gradient is created automatically. In this case, I like the colors that appear by default, but you can modify the colors to your liking to achieve a different result. I am going to modify the different colors or redeem points to get a smoother gradient. Great, It looks good to me. We can modify the position of the effects within the project panel. If it is above or below, the Effects works differently. I am going to leave it on top. I like it better. Now we create an adjustment layer. We go to Layer, New Adjustment Layer. And we make sure that the adjustment layer is on top of the rest of the layers. But why? Because they Effects we apply on an adjustment layer will affect all the layers below it. With the adjustment layer selected, we go to Effect Distort. We're please do not confuse it with Wave Warp. They are different Effects. Perfect. Now we can configure the Effects options from the Effects Controls panel. As you can see, there's a lot of different work styles. Arc, bolt, flat, fish. You can play with the different options and see which one you like best. In my case, the style that I liked the most for this project is wave. But I want the distortion to be more exaggerated. I am going to turn the band value up. Perfect. We're almost there. Now. We just have to add a liter animation. To do this, we select the composition texts one, and create a keyframe in the position property. By clicking on the stopwatch, we placed the text in the desired position, advanced to the end of the composition and move the text to the right. And if we preview what? As simple as that, we already have our first project ready to share 6. Project 2: Spherize: Hi everyone. In this lesson, we're going to create the curse second projects. But before we proceed, let's organize the project panel a bit. Let's create for new folder by clicking here. And we need them project one, project to project three and project four. And we drag the compositions from the previous lesson into project one. To begin, we create a new composition with the project two folders selected. We go to composition, new composition. We're going to call it project two. Again, we create a 1920s by ten at composition at 24 frames. This time we're going to give it 10 s. With the help of the Text tool. We're going to write Motion Graphics. Again, I'm going to use the Poppins font, reduce the size and reset the scale to 100%. I am going to leave it wide and without stroke the same as before. This is perfect to me. We right-click on the text layer and click on pre-compose. We give it a name and click on. Okay. And with a double-click, we entered a new composition that we have created. Exactly the same process as we did in the previous lesson. Click on the region of interests option and create a rectangle around the text, making sure to leave some space around the texts. Next we go to composition, crop Comp to Region of interest to adapt the composition size to the texts we have created. To save time, we go to the composition projects. One, we select the CC rubber tire fact from the texts one layer and copy it with Control C or common CEO Mark. Next, we go to the composition project two, we select the text to layer. And with Control V or Command V on Mac, we paste the effect simple, right? In this way we can save a lot of time. Now, we're going to create the background. We go to Layer New Solid. We give it a name and click on Okay. And we drag it below the texts composition. For this project, I want to create a background with a nice gradient with the solid selected, we go to Effect Generate Gradient Ramp. When applied, a two-color gradient is created automatically. We only need to modify the colors to our ligand. We can also modify the colors position simply to create a more beautiful gradient. Grades is looking very nice. As we did in the previous lesson, we are going to create an adjustment layer. So we go to Layer, New Adjustment Layer. And we've the adjustment layer selected, we go to Effect distort. This figure is this favourites Effects allow us to create a sphere shaped deformation very easily. I'm going to increase the value of SSRIs. We can also modify this fierce position, although we are going to leave it in the center of the screen. I am also scaling down the texts composition to fit inside the sphere, almost habit. Now, we create an illusion of depth in a very simple way. And we're going to create it with the Ellipse tool. But before continuing, we go to addict deselect all these way. We ensure we don't have any layers selected anabolic creating a mask instead of a shape layer. Perfect. Now we create a shape that help us generate the depth Effects. It is about creating a circle that defines the shape of this beer that we have created. To create a perfect circle, you need to hold the Shift key while making the circle. This is perfect. Now we increase the stroke size. And I am going to color it black and apply an opacity of 60 per cent. Finished creating the deaf effect, we go to Effect Blur and Sharpen gaussian Blur. And we increase the blurriness value until we get the desired result. For me, it is perfect like this. Finished, we animate the project. To do this, we select the text to layer and create a keyframe at the position at the beginning of the timeline. Next, we advanced to the end of the composition and move the text horizontally. And that's it. We have created these fantastic Animation with the minimal efforts 7. Project 3: Wave Warp: Hi again. We have already created two amazing projects in just a few minutes. In this lesson, we will create the curse, their project. As always, we create a new composition. So I'll buy new 1920 by ten at composition at 24 frames. Give it 10 s and name it. With the help of the Text tool, we write the word Animation. In this case, I'm using the web as new firms, but you can use your favorite. I am going to modify the size a liter, leaving it white. And without stroke. Perfect. We right click on the text layer and click on pre-compose. We give it a name and click on OK. With a double-click, we entered a new composition that we have created. Exactly the same process that we did in the previous lessons. We click the region of interests option and create a rectangle around the tax. And we go to composition, crop Comp to Region of interest to adjust the composition size. As in the previous lesson, we go to project one composition to work faster, we select the CC reptile fact from the texts one layer and copy it with a Control C or Command C on Mac. Next, we go to composition project three. We select the composition of the texts and with Control V or Command V on Mac, we paste the effect. We can also reuse the background from the previous project. To do this, we go to project two and copy the layer background. Next, we returned to project three and paste the background. Finally, we drag it below the rest of the layers. Learning to reuse materials to work efficiently and saves time is essential when you dedicate yourself professionally to creating animations every day. This can mean a significant saving of time. Now, we're going to create an adjustment layer. We go to layer, new adjustment layer. Remember to drag it above the rest of the layers. And with the adjustment layer selected, we go to Effect this door wave warp. From the Effects Controls we configured the fact. The most important thing is to eliminate the animation that is created automatically. To do this, we go to wave speed and set it to zero. Perfect. Then we edit the rest of the values until we get the desired results. The idea is to increase the value of waves behave and wave width. Until you get the desired results. We can leave the direction as it is at 90 grades. You can play around with the different values to create different results. This is a very intuitive Effects, very easy to set up. So don't be afraid and try different things. We need to apply another fact to avoid the error at the Edison's go-to effect utility, grow bounds. We drag it over and increase the pixels value onto the problem is corrected. Good, we almost have it. We need to create an illusion of depth to create a much more attractive animation. But remember, and sure, you don't have any layer selected before creating a shape. Let's go to a deed. Select all. This time we're going to use the pen tool. We apply a black color, fail and delete the stroke. It is about applying common sense and creating a shape that defines the shadows that the flag show form. Like this is perfect. We go to Effect Blur and Sharpen gaussian Blur. And we increase the blurriness value up to 200, for example. Finished, we can reduce the opacity to 40 per cent. Right now the blur looks weird. Okay, So to solve it, we are going to deactivate the repeat edge pixels box. Now it is much better. Finally guys, with the selected layer, we duplicate it two times and we place the shadows along the flag. I am going to duplicate it one more time. And we put it on the left side to have shadows throughout the design. And as always, we live the easiest part for last, animating the position of the texts. For this, we create a keyframe in the position at the beginning of the timeline. Next, we advanced to the end of the composition and move the text horizontally. And voila, we already have our third Animation ready? 8. Project 4: Advanced Distortion: Hi everyone. It's time to work on the course. Last project of all the ones we have done during the course. This is my favorite project because it allow us to create personalized distortions. As always, we're going to create a new composition with the project four folder selected, opening a new 1920 by ten at composition at 24 frames, gave me 10 s and name it project four. This time we're going to write the word Typography. Again, I'm going to use a Poppins font. I'm going to change the size. We leave the feeling wide and without stroke. Perfect. We right-click on the text layer and select pre-compose. We give it a name and click on. Okay. And with a double-click, we entered a new composition. We have created. We click the region of interests option and create a rectangle around the texts. And we go to Composition Crop cup, two regions of interests to adjust the composition size. So far is the same process as always. Now, go to composition projects. One in, but in this case we are going to reuse to Effects. Instead of one. We select the four color gradient effect in Y holding the Shift key, we also select the CC rapid effect. Then we copy them with controversy or common CMAC. Now we go to the composition projects for select the composition after-tax and with Control V or Command be no, we pay say Effects. As simple as that. I am going to modify the position of the colors so adapted to these texts. Perfect. Now it's much better. We're also going to create the background. We go to Layer, New Solid. We name the layer, apply the desired color and click Okay. Finished. We drag the layer below the text layer. Perfect. Now we create an adjustment layer. And as always, we placed it on top of the other layers. And with the adjustment layer selected, we go to Effect distort meshwork. The mesh warp Effects allow us to create incredible, fully customize their formations. We only need to click on one of the intersections that form the mesh lines and drag to create the deformations. In this case, I prefer to reduce the complexity of the effect to get a cleaner result. For this, I'm going to reduce the number of rows and columns to two. And we've deselected Effects. I'm going to create a custom desertion. Great, I think it looks pretty good. I encourage you to experiment. You can create very interesting em font shapes. As in the previous lessons, we create an illusion of depth to make our project look even better. And we're going to create it with the pen tool. But before we continue we go to Edit, deselect all to ensure we don't have any layers selected. Select the Pen Tool, leave the field black and delete the stroke. Width, create a shape to help us generate the depth effect. Remember, it's all about applying common sense and creating a shape that defines the shape of our distortion. We're going to tweak this shape a bit to make it look better. Okay, That's fine. Sorry, I just realized I did it backwards. We have to remove the field and apply a stroke of black color. Okay, This is perfect. Let's increase the stroke size. And we apply an opacity of 60%. To finish creating the depth Effects, we go to Effect Blur and Sharpen gaussian Blur. And we increase the value of blurriness the same as in a previous project up to 200, and deactivate the repeat edge pixels box. This is perfect. The time has come to animate the last project. To do this, we select the composition with a text and create a keyframe at the position at the beginning of the timeline. Next, we advanced with the end of the composition and move the text horizontally and ready. I loved the final results 9. Rendering: Now that we have our projects ready, we can export them. Keeping mind that the composition we currently have open will be exported. For these, we go to Composition and select add to Adobe Media Encoder. Media Encoder help us explore projects more efficiently. First, we choose the codec. In this case, we are going to use H 264. It explores the video in MP4, the most used format for the web. Regarding the output resolution, we can choose the Match Source, High or medium bitrate option to avoid mistakes and export it in the same size we have worked on the project. Finally, we choose the location to export the video and give the file a name. Finished click on the Play button here. And with these, everything will be ready. Once the process has finished, you can open your video and share it with all of us in the course project gallery. I am looking forward to seeing your work 10. Final Thoughts: Congratulations on completing the course. I'm so happy to have in your guide throughout this journey.
