1. INTRO: 5 Ingredients of your Brand Identity: There are many courses about convo out there on you, Jimmy on YouTube, and many of them do a good job at explaining what the platform is all about. Very quickly, they show you how to start designing Facebook covers. Instagram quotes, YouTube them. There's an hour that now this is useful, but I wanted this course to be more connected to your day to day reality As an entrepreneur or a business. Boerner created this course as a practical, step by step guide that will help you grow your business by developing your visual brandy. And by that I mean creating all the visuals. You actually need to start promoting your business or your project. This is how I believe I can provide the most value to you by understanding exactly what you need in terms of visuals and by introducing you to a tool. Can VA that will help you design like a pro? Even if you're not a designer, that before you start designing, you need to figure out your brand identity in this section of the course, we are going to make sure you have clearly defined the five key components that tell the world what your brand stands for a k a. Your brand identity. Now that is your mission, your vision, your target audience, your brand personality and the core values you stand for. Use this short section of the course as your checklist to remember the key concepts that make visual identity.
2. Your Mission: So let's start with your mission. Your mission statement explains in one or two sentences why your organization exists. It defines who you are and what you do. So if you don't have a mission statement for your business yet, I suggest you pause this video and spend a now or two trying to figure it out. So, yes, you heard correctly. I said one or two hours just to come up with one mission statement. So basically could be only one sentence. Why, um, I suggesting that you take that long because your mission statement is probably the most important sentence you will ever right for your company. It needs to really be on point and really represent perfectly the mission of your company. So you need to make it short. Very clear, as in every word is to count, like you cannot take one word out of it. It has to be memorable, and it has to be meaningful, as meaningful as possible, actually, so usually you will find the company's mission statement very high on his home page on its website. For many of them, it will even be above the fold, meaning you don't even have to scroll down to read that mission statement, and most of the time it will be the first thing people read about your company. So take your time to develop a very powerful mission statement.
3. Your Vision: next you have the vision. Your vision statement tells the world where you want to go. It is the ideal scenario you have imagined for your company. It is the positive outcome you're trying to achieve. It is your company's purpose. The biggest benefits of a powerful vision is that it provides a direction and helps your organisation prepare for the future. You need to have a clear vision in order to make the right decisions, create your strategy. Decide who are the best people to hire to set your priorities, but also to focus your efforts in the right place. So make sure you have a clear vision for your organization and that you put it down on paper in your vision statement.
4. Your Target Audience: next on our checklist is your target audience. This is where you describe who your customers are and why they need you. In other words, high your products or services solve their problems. Their pains. Now I could create an entire section, or maybe even an entire course about how to define your target audience, as this is a broad topic, and it's really the foundation of any marketing activities. But this is not the place to do so. In this course. I just want to point out that you should know who you're talking to with your brand. Think of it this way. Who should want to be friends with your brand? Get very specific with these questions. You have to know the age, gender, location, income, very short status, occupation, educational level, the type of Facebook pages they like. You can't even go so far as giving a name to your specific target audience by being specific, and by really getting into the details of who that target audience is, you will form a much clearer idea off who your brand is talking to.
5. Your Brand Personality: Once you know who you're talking to, you have to define your brand personality to do so. I suggest you make a list of five objective that describe your brand. This will set the tone for both your visual design and you're writing your copy. Are you exclusive in mainstream? Are you classic or the rebel? Don't hesitate to ask the people who know you and your company and your project for input and perspective. It could also be useful to list five objectives that your brand is not using. The is or is not. Exercise will help you grasp your brand's personality and figure out your voice. That is the way that you will communicate with your audience.
6. Your Core Values: last on our checklist is the core values your brand stands for. These are simply a list of values you carry deep down. It is in your identity, and it's something that you want to build your company upon. They represent the core principles that would guide you through your decisions and actions . Make sure to keep a list of these fundamental values at all time. Alright, this finishes the lesson. The main take away is that before you start designing your brand style guide, you need to figure out your brand identity. We've learned that the key components to creating that brand identity, our mission, your vision, your target audience, your brand's personality and your core values.
7. SKIT: Let's Design your Brand Style Guide: Now that you have clearly defined your brand identity, I would like to introduce you to the concept off Brand Styx Guide. A brand style guide is a document that explains how an organization presents itself to the world. It takes the heart and soul of your brand, your mission, vision and values and translates that into design. All the well established brands have a brand style guide, and if you're serious about your business, you should have one too. Is I mentioned earlier? I want this course to be very practical and connected to your reality as an entrepreneur or a business owner. What you need is to build your visual branding, meaning developing all the necessary visuals that will help you present your brand to the world, right. Well, if you think I'm right, so yes, out loud. So instead of starting this course with the traditional designs convalesce, you create like a Facebook cover or YouTube thumbnail, which, by the way, we will cover later. During this course, I thought it would be smarter to start designing by creating your very own brands Die guide . By the end of this section, you will have a document like this one. But for your very own brand, it will visually present all the guidelines related to your logo, color, planet, typography, imagery, style and tone of voice. And the best thing is you will design it with a little bit of help for me. This will help you maintain consistency throughout all the visuals you will create in section 56 and seven. And consistency is really the key word here. You want your brand to be consistent so that people start to recognize it and to remember it so fascinating and sorry. Passages had bet and let's go to Cannes. Got up.
8. Your Brand Story: way are in the main can, uh, screen right here, the home screen. And the first thing we need to decide is the format we want to choose for our brands Die guide. And this is really up to you guys. It depends if you go for if you want to go for landscape type of document In this case, you might want to choose the presentation format right here. But you could also go for a vertical kind of like a portrait kind of orientation for your document. And in this instance, the A four document will be a good choice. I personally prefer to work with landscape documents. So I will go with the presentation right here, which is 1024 by 7 68 picks its so just click on this one and can I would create a new blank document. So from this point on, you can basically choose between two options. We can go and create everything from scratch eso We will design every design elements ourselves, or we can choose one of the layouts that the canvas team has designed for us right here. And some of them look pretty pretty nice As we scroll down right here, you will see different things. Not all of these layouts are actually free. Some of them don't have this free labor on them. That means that some of the photos inside of them are for sale for $1. So it is not actually the loud that can vie selling but the photos inside the layout. So it doesn't really matter if you choose a layout that's says free or layout. That doesn't say free, because if you change the photos inside of this specific layout, you won't have to pay anything anyways. So let's just pick one layout that we that we like, regardless of whether it's free or not. The second thing you will notice is that when you hover over the layouts, you have a number showing up right there on their top right corners, and these numbers actually represent the number of pages these layout contains. So if we choose this one, for instance, we can see that they have 10 pages in the layout. If I click on it, I can see all the pages and also mentions the name of the creator of this of this template , J. Alexander Santos and I can have a preview off all the different pages, which is pretty cool. Close it here. So I want to choose a layout for my cover page s O. That will be the cover off my brands Die Guide. And to be honest, I can have, like, this one because it has a nice big picture, and I like the front as well. So in order to to understand if this Louds will fit my project and just clicked on it Andi , I see that, Yes, this could do the trick. So I'm gonna start with the layout page. So for this, I'm just clicking on the first page right there, and it will load automatically here on the convo work area. All right. And you see that this photo is not a free photo because it has the canvas watermark on it. But it doesn't matter, because I would replace it for another photo. So let's do that. Let's replace this photo for another photo. In order to import your own personal photos into can va, you just have to open them on your computer. So, in my case, I had them prepared here on my desktop and you just drag it to Canada like this and you drag it here on the left side and it will start uploading. So I recommend you don't use like, very heavy files when you upload on on on canvas because it could take longer toe upload, but also because it will make your document heavier if you decide to export it in a pdf, for example. So that's it. My photo is loaded. I just grab it and drop it on the design right there. So you can see it is now replaced and the watermark has disappeared off course because this is now my photo that we're using on the layout. All right, The second thing I want to do is to replace the color of this border right here. We can see, like, kind of a greenish border. And I don't like this. Green doesn't represent my brand. So what is this border anyway? So it's not a border per se. It is ah, green shape that is actually behind the photo. So I'm just gonna put these things back into place, and we are going to change this color. So in order to do this, you have to click. It's a little bit difficult, but if you move it, it's easier to click on it. We're going to change this color for one of our colors that we want to use for brand identity. Actually, so it's It's possible that at this stage you haven't defined all the colors of your color palette, which is okay, you will have time to do this. But in my case, because we are using the federal connections branding for the purpose of this exercise, I do already. I already do have a color palette, so I'm just going to grab one of my colors. So this is to remind me so that's D 81 c 66. You click on the plus button, you enter the code the hex code, and you go enter. And right now you can see my pink here from my logo, and my comfort colors is now into the can va. And you can see the nice thing is that this color, this pink color is now saved in under my document colors. I can use it later. All right, let's reposition this correctly, and you can see how you're can va grids are actually these purple lines right there are actually helping you center the photo, so it's really easy to center your element in Canada. All right, this looks good. So now next step, we're going to change this text. And one thing I don't like so much about this type right here is that there is a lot of space between the letters. So I want to reduce the spacing between the letters to do this. I'm just going to select the element and go to spacing, and you can see here Letter spacing 200. I'm going to reduce this to 40. And now I'm going to reorganize these techs here, off course to customize it a little bit more. And I'm gonna change the text. I'm on this to be bigger, and this one right here is going to mention the name off my brand. Okay, let's make this a little bit smaller. Or maybe this one a little bit bigger. So now it's just a little bit of rearranging. Center it, make sure everything is centered. Okay, that's looks nice, but I can see one thing straight away. Is that this brand style guy text like those two text combine here are not really centered on my on my page, So I want to center them. But it's quite difficult to select them both, as you can see. So there is a little trick to this. You can click right here on the top, hold your click and go down to select these two elements. But you will see that the photo is also selected. So we need to de select that. For that. I'm gonna press shift and click on the photo. Now, you see, only these two text boxes are selected. I'm going to group them using the group button so that I can move them around. Mawr conveniently group. All right. And now this is just one element, and they can move as one element. Okay, so now it's easier for me to center it. You can see how can Va assists me with these, uh, these purple lines. And now I know that this text is exactly centered on my document. So this looks good. Maybe put this one down a little bit more. All right, so that's the first page. That's my cover. And now we are going to create another page with my brand story. So for the brand story, you can pretty much bring any information you like. But in my case, I would like to display the mission and vision of my company. So you don't have to just stick with your mission and vision for this brand story page. You can bring more of the five key components of your visual identity like we've seen in the previous section. For example, you could speak about your brand personality. You could speak about the core values that you stand for, etcetera, etcetera. But for for now, I'm just going to go with mission and vision. All right, So to do this to design the second page while first I can add a page and you will see that can VA recognizes that I've been using this pink background? So which is nice? And I'm going to go back to the layout tab right here to go back to my bread, kind of lay out and see if there is another page, another layout, basically inside this layout that I could use instead of creating everything from scratch. So now I want to present my company's vision and mission or mission and vision. So I think this page could actually do the job. So I'm gonna make sure I select my second page right here. And I would click on the desire layout. It will load here, just as it did for the first page. Okay, great. Let's start with basically changing this green for the pink. And I see that this black color for my Texas not really nice. Um, I could also go for another color than pink. So let me check my visual identity here. I could go, for instance, for discolor a BD zero de six. All right, enter. And that sets my second color right here. So the black off the text is looking better. I would say that on the pink, I could also have changed the black for white and keep the pink background. But I think this pink is a little bit intense, and I prefer to go with this light blue. All right, so now I'm going to basically change this title for my document information. So I will just based here mission. Now I will place my company's mission here on my home page. I do have here my mission. Our mission is simple. Okay, so I used this. Go back to Canada. I would click on the second box and select the text based My mission. Perfect. Now, when I want to do is to have a second part, like to other boxes here. One with the tighter vision and another one text books like this one with my company's vision. All right, so let's do this. We can select them individually, or we can select them both and go copy. That's a little shortcut. I'm showing you guys. We put it here. We can do the same trick. Make sure everything is aligned. We select everything and can valances make sure this is centered. I replaced this for vision, and I replaced this for my company's vision. All right, so now we have one last thing to do is to change this bread visual right here. And for that, we can upload another photo. Um, I don't think I have one that will do the trick here. So I will just upload one, remember? Just open it or find it on your computer. I had prepared it right there, and I would drag this photo to Canada. It will upload once it's uploaded. Right now, it's uploaded. I can take it, drag it directly here. One thing I want to show you. I don't really like how it's looking right now. I don't really like to see my face right here, and it's a little bit blurry anyway. And I think their arm or interesting parts on this photo. So I'm just going to double click on the photo and I can see the whole photo and I can move it around from left to right. So basically finding the best section of the photo, it's gonna be probably this one. I kind of like how you can see all the head right there is kind of funny. So I'm gonna go for this. All right, so we have our two first pages of our Brian style guide
9. Your Logo: Okay, Welcome back to Canada, guys. In this lesson, we are going to add a few more pages to our brand style guide, and these pages are going to be talking about logos. So your logo, your company logo, how you can present it to the world and what you can and cannot do with your logo. So this information will be very useful to help you the people in your team, but also sometimes freelancer freelancers that will be working with you like a graphic designer or maybe a video producer or someone writing a block post about you. But they need to access some visual element of your visual identity. So we just continuing our project. We are going to create one more page. And, as you can see, can Va gives us the blue background. But we are going to get rid of that by selecting it and deleting it because we want to present our logo's on the white background. It's more convenient, by the way, I'm not going to show you in this course how to create your own logo. This is not a course about creating a logo, first of all, because creating a logo is not a beginner's type of level. Creating a logo is something you have to think very seriously, and I don't recommend you do it yourself. If you are a beginner graphic designer, Ah, we totally recommend you purchase a logo from a professional because your logo, it's basically the face of your company, so your logo needs to be perfect. So in this lesson, we are going to assume that you already have a logo and we are going to import that logo and his different variations into Canada. So that's what we're going to do. And for me, I'm going to use the Fair Trade Connection logo, which we happen to completely redesign, like a couple of weeks ago, thanks to my brother, who was also a graphic designer. So he really helped us with the first version of our logo, which we liked and has been our faithful logo for the last seven years. But now we just thought it would be a good idea to refresh this logo, so we kept the main concept but made it a little bit more modern. All right, so the first thing I want to do is basically to import this logo into Canada. So here in my on my desktop, I prepared the different variation of this logo. So right there, you might not have as many variation for your own logo. You might have only one version of it. What I do recommend is that you have at least a vertical version of your logo. The icon only of your logo. That means the visual part of your logo and a horizontal version of your logo. All right, So, as you can see now, I have my three basic versions of the logo, so I'm just going to make sure I select this document page and click on the logo. So that's it? That's my first version of the logo. Gonna make this a little bit smaller, and I'm going to make sure it is centered. So this is basically the vertical version of my logo. Right? So maybe it will be a good idea to express that this is the vertical version of the logo. So what I want to do, basically I want to have some kind of title like this one, like that one that says vision. But that would say vertical. For example, So there's two ways of doing this. I could just copy this text books without its attributes, which is pretty useful. Or I could just go Texts. New texts. Bring this down here. Changed the Funt. The same front is this one. So this is railway heavy. So another nice thing here. Guys can vary. Remembers your document fund. So these are the funds that we've been using in our documents so far, so that's pretty convenient. I confined really heavy. I can see this one is an old caps. This one? Not so the way to change this. You can go here. So if I click, everything is uppercase. Now I see that this one has more spacing between the letters I can check. Yes, it's 1 20 This one probably doesn't have 1 20 Let me check. No, indeed, I have zero. So I just bring this up to 1 20 like this and the size of the Texas or so not the same as 28th. So I make this 28. All right. So, as you can see, it took me a long time to get to the same result, so I'm just going to delete this one and I have my vertical tighter right here it is. Okay, but I would like it to be a little bit more fancy. After all, this is my brand style guide. And I want this to be stylish. Right? So let's make a little extra effort and style this a little bit more. So first we're going toe align this. Make sure this is clipping. You know, you always want to do these guys to clip your selection area very close to the edge of the word. If you would go like one extra step, it will actually show in two lines. You want to be just at the limit, because once when you're centering your element aligning your elements, this is very important. So that's pretty like this. And I want to add a little shape behind it, so it looks actually cooler. All right, so what I want to do is use a shape and I will use a simple rectangular shape like this one . Make this Moeller like this, and I would put it on top of it. You see, can va helps me centering it with my word. So I want to make this all the way there. But as you can see now, my rectangular shape is just on top off my text. So I will bring this element back foot doing this. I need to select it. Then I go to arrange and push it back like this. Of course, it's black on black, so it's not gonna work. Going to use white. Okay, so that looks okay. I have to bring this down a little bit. Make sure this is centered. Perfect. All right. So I have the first variation of my logo, the vertical. I want to create the horizontal use of my local right now. Okay, so I have the horizontal right there instead of starting from scratch again and creating these creating everything again, I can just copy this page. Guys, I just use this. It would create an exact copy of this. I get rid of this one guy, insert my horizontal logo, make it a little bit bigger, like this. Make sure it is centered. All right. And of course, need to change this vertical for horizontal. As you can see this bigger, the text needs more space. Same here. I'm gonna clip it right before it actually sense the text back to a second line. Make sure to the line like this. Good. So now we have horizontal version of my local greats. What I could do, I also have an icon. So it's basically the same. It's just a visual part of it. So I can take this, make its molder, and I can use this actually on this page to show. Okay, this is my main logo, but if I want to use it without the text, this is how it looks like. Okay, not bad. So we have vertical a orientation, like off the logo. We have the horizontal. So whether is can we bring to this document to give more explanation on how to use our logo ? Well, the thing is that I have some color variation of this. I can only part of my local, the visual part of my local. My my brother helped me create this, so I think I'm just going to bring this all right, so I prepared them here. So all these are color variation of my logo. So same going to important into Canada. Gonna take a little bit of time, but it's fine you can see. I think I have 1234567 variation of my logo. I can see straightaway that I missed one. Let me add it to this mix, all right and what I can do. I want to display all the color variation of the logo on the same page. I want to be able to visualize them all on the same pitch. So if I click on the 1st 1 I can see that it's displays pretty big, and I want this to be smaller. Otherwise I won't be able to display them all on the same page. So there are different ways of doing this. I could just bring the 1st 1 make it smaller to a size that I believe will be small enough so that I can display all eight logos. Go the 2nd 1 and do it. The problem if I do this, is that it's pretty difficult to make sure, or these logos are actually at the same size have the same size. You see it slightly smaller, so there is a trick to avoid. This difficulty is to basically click on each of the logo one after the other, and they will just can I will just import them all on top of another. And now you can see they're all here. But now what I can do is to select them all and resize them, making smaller all at once. So now you can see there or here, but or with exactly the same size, which is what I wanted to do. Okay, so now what I have to do is to rearrange these logos eso that it actually displays nicely on my page. They're actually eight of them. So what I could try to do is arrange them. Kind of like on a grid. I will select them all and make sure they are centered. And then what I will do is basically copied this idea of the title and the shape behind it Go to my elements Shape square, and I want to have kind off the same size as the logos there. So you see, if you reduce it like carefully can vary Gonna is going toe assist you into creating exactly the same size for your shape at this. So this is pretty neat, and I'm going to use the tighter right here so again, instead of creating another text, I'm just going to copy this one because it has ordered the attributes that I want for my text here. And I'm gonna call this icons. Right. So this is nice. This is centered. And this looks OK. Maybe a little bit too big. I just reduced this to 24 you can see again. I would make sure this is right before the split, and this looks nice. All right, so now we have the icons. Weather is Could we do? Yes, I do have a black and white version off my logo. So I want to create another page that will help me display this black and white version of my local. So here, I'm just browsing through the different layouts. Okay, so I'm in the layout tab. I was in the upload time and just clicked on layout. I'm trying to find the split equally between two color wrecked angers. Oh, it seems like this This visual right here could do the trick. Okay, lets try. So make sure you select the slide here, the page where you want this to come and you click here the first thing we will do is basically getting rid of all the text and all the elements we don't need. So we don't need any of that. And as we said, we want white and black. All right, that's pretty good. That's exactly what I wanted going back to my uploads. And I want to applaud now my black and white version of my logo. Okay, so I prepared them here. So actually have my logo in black for the horizontal and the icon and I have the same for how is until an icon for white version of my logos, I would just go ahead and import this into Canada. If you are going to pay a graphic designer, make sure you have at least this vertical, horizontally version of your ago. This is very important. If you have the chance, get the visual only, and this black and white version is also super important. So now they are uploaded. I'm going to start with the black version. Just click on your sleight to make sure you're on the right on the right page, and then I'm going to simply import. But I can't make it smaller. That's a little bit too big. This looks nice. Maybe this one a little bit bigger, like this. Perfect. And I'm going to do the same with the whites. See how I positioned it next to it. So basically what I did, Let's see. It was this more. All right, Let's let's do it from the beginning again. So you can see what I did here. I import it. But I remember this when I stretch it to be a rivet, bigger. So what? I do it just I just go all the way to one side or the other. And I would just pull this until I see the marks right there. So now I know thes two locals are the same size, and Canada even lets me like aligning perfectly to the 1st 1 All right, that looks decent. Same thing with my wife. So I would reduce it a little bit, position it close to this other guy here, and then I just again until I see the purple line. Almost perfect. And there you go. No black and white version off your logo, which is pretty cool. And that's it. I think we have a nice display off all the different variations of your logo. One more thing you could do, which is pretty common in Brent style guy. Especially the part about logos is to explain what you cannot do with your logo, the daunts off your logo. So let's do this in our case. But I don't want people to do in my company or even if I outsource some design work toe a freelancer, but I don't want them to do is to use my old logoed older version of my local. I told you, we recently rebranded our our company and basically redesigned our logo. So I'm gonna create another page, which with a white background, it's fine. And I want to call this the Daunts. Okay, So Okay, so I select this copy and the group this and I want to bring this down there so it seems like my text has disappeared. It didn't. What happened is that just can va So me using this black text on a black background So it changed the color front. The font color Sorry are automatically which is not a big did we just have to make it back toe white. So I have this now and I want to put it here and call this daunts. Yes. What I want in my daunt is to use the old version of my local. So here I have three example of the old version of my logo. I'm going toe import this into Canada. Okay, so now everything is uploaded, so I'm just going to start importing them. Make sure you click on the right page resize a little bit, arranged the elements. Tried to have them, like, kind of the same size. I'm a little bit of a perfectionist when I work with you. Might have noticed this by now. Uh, but that's what makes a great designer good designer as well. The details. So you want you want your designed to be perfectly aligned. You wonder designs to be the same size. I think that's pretty good, eh? So these are the things we don't want to see, right? So I'm just going to find, like, a cross. So what I did here I was here. I went to the search books 5 10 cross enter. And Canada has some free stuff that you can use. So I think I'm gonna use this one, and I'm going to use the same trick here, guys. I need three of them, obviously. So I'm just going to import, like, three times, all right? And select the more without this guy here. So remember, if you select something and you want to de select hold, shift, click on it right now, we can resize them or and this should do it. Okay, So I'm just bring 11 and one. So this is what I don't want. I don't want people to use my older logo. Okay, Maybe it would be a good idea to show people what we actually want. Eso What we want is the actual new logo right to go back here, And I'm not going to repeat all the steps, but maybe just show them. Okay, this is the correct way of using it. So this one definitely. And the icon will be this one. So these are the correct way off displaying your logo. Maybe grouped them so it would be easier to move around, Kid, This one guy could be a little bit like this. And this are right. So this is what we actually want. This is what we want. So instead of across. Maybe we should have a tick. Right? So I'm gonna search for a tick and, if possible, find something that is in the same like vibe of this one. Did I miss it yet? This this one right here. So I need two of these. And again select this guy, Make it smaller about the same size, the other one. Okay, so that's actually the correct the correct way of using my logo. You Right. So now I'm going to select everything and center it one last time. Okay, this looks decent. One thing I could do is make this smaller. Okay, I have to group it because I grouped it previously. And this one is Well, all right, so now we have designed how many pages? Five pages about logo and how to use your logo. If you want to be a little bit fancy, you could create a cover like you did hear brand style guide. This one that could announce. Okay, now we're going to talk about logos. So do this like this. Get rid of this, okay? And you could just have the name logo. We're going to go for this one. Copy, Bring it here. Gonna type in logos. Okay. Obviously we want this bigger way bigger. And we want this with less spacing. Remember, we were at 40 for our main title. So does go 40. All right, make sure this is centered. And again, we want to go very close to the edge because otherwise it is not perfectly center is a common mistake in Canada. All right, this looks good. And maybe changed this color. Yes, to add a little bit more color. So what color should we use? Let me see. I have all my colors here. Did it it this aqua? Go back to my background. Here are the new color. I faced the hex code and boom, I have my aqua background. No, I changed this for white for maximum contrast. And this looks nice. Okay, so that's it for this one. We have created the section to have this brand style guide, which is about local
10. Your Color Palette: Welcome back to Canada. This is our third lesson off the brand Styx guide. So we're designing our very own brand style guide. So let's continue the project and now dive into your color palette. So in order to design a color palette, we will off course at a new page and maybe start with a cover. All right, so let's continue with same consistent style and use our layout right here with the bread thing. He just select my page, click on the visual. What I need is some kind of visual related to color. So I will just search into canvas, see what they have type in color and see if something interesting comes up. I kind of like this one, um, visual right here. And it's free. So I'm just gonna go ahead and use it and drop it on top off my bread visual. So now I have something related to color, which is way nicer. I will select the shape behind the photo and changed this color for one of the color of my color palette. Try one. Yeah, let's go with whites. Nice. And of course, get rid of this text. I need this I don't need this one either. And typing colors. Okay, remember the spacing between the text just going to make this bucks a little bit bigger and center Walla? So that's not That's my cover. Next, I'm going to actually design a color palette for this lesson I have on my desktop screenshots of my color palettes. So these are all the main colors that I want to use for Frederick Connection. I understand this is a quite large color palettes. Most companies don't have that many colors in the color palette. Usually it's between one and five colors. But for us, because we are a creative agency, because we we work with different types of media. We wanted to really have a very extensive color palette so that we have a lot of choice on DA. A lot of material to work with. We create videos. We create graphics. We create recreate a lot of different creatives, which require a lot of colors, and we felt a little bit limited with our previous brand identity on DWI didn't want to go through the same mistakes. So this time we have a very large color palette, and these are only the main colors. We then have ah bunch of other secondary colors, which I'm not going to show you in this lesson. So it is completely okay if you don't have that many main colors. If you have only three or four, let's say that's completely fine. Work with whatever you have, So here again, we are not going to go through the process off. How do you create a color palette? This is not a lesson about how to create a color palette, but how to display your existing color palette. So I want to recreate something similar. I want to have this very practical document where I can just double click on this number. As you can see here, I cannot do this because this is an image. But what I want to do is to have a document for, for example, a pdf document where this would be clip clickable and I will be able to copy this and paste it in another document or, in another design, apelike canvas, for instance. So let's go ahead and recreate this. So what I've done previously, I have copied all the hex code, so this is called a hex code H E X for each color, an instance for exact decimal code because it's a code made out off six number and letters . So that's why it's called Hexi Decimal, because it's six. So I have copied all these hex codes here that represent each of the colors. So that's a quad. A steel orange, pink, purple, etcetera. They are all here, so that's the first step. Let's go ahead and go back to Canada, and I want to create something similar than this color palette right here. Maybe not with rectangles, because, as you can see, this is quite wide. I don't know if all this will fit on my page because I have so many colors. So they're the I. D. Here is that maybe I can use a different shape, so let's go ahead and see what kind of shapes we have. We could go for squares or rounded corner square is or even for circles. I think I'll go for circles, so I need eight colors, so I'll go ahead and create eight circles and I will use the same trick as in the previous lessons. I would just import my eight circles 12345678 So I'm now able to select the more and reduce their size. I just want to make sure they will all fit on my page. And I will. I will stick them together and you'll see why in a second now I can center this by selecting them or in using the proper lines. So now there are centered. I can start by just copying my ex codes go to the 2nd 1 So this is pretty straightforward. Just going to speed up this video for you guys because I don't think it's interesting to photo each of these Copy paste. OK, good. So now we have our eight colors, and from there, I'm going to do one thing. We need to have the hex codes. Otherwise, this is just half of the work done. Okay, so I'm just going to create a texts, and we are going to stay consistent with our document funds right here so I could go right away. Heavy or railway. I think I just go read way, which is not as thick. And I'm going to paste these hex values right there. One thing I want to show you is that you cannot create the hash tag in into Canada. I don't know why, but you cannot. So you have to create your hashtag in your note pad document right here. So I have my hashtag hashtag and then the color, which is a quack like this. So that's my first hex code for the first color. I'm gonna just this center this and maybe make it closer. So we are not mistaking this code for this color, for example, and I'm just going to copy this and again, I'm going to speed up this video because this is not gonna be very interesting for you guys . We don't need to go through the pain of watching over this. All right now, I have all my eight colors with all eight X code, so that's pretty cool. So if I'm a perfectionist and I want all my circles right there to have the exact same distance between each other, So what I would have done is that I stuck them all together, so I know there's no distance between them and I will select or these elements right there , and I would hold and I would just use my arrow keys to split them apart. To create some distance, I would go 123 Okay. And I select these 123 and then likewise for the last group. 123 So now I know that all these circles have three spacing in between each other, so this is much better. I know exactly that. This is aligned somehow. The last thing to do is to grab them all and sent to them. OK, so let's me let me grab a tighter and I can copy this one. I will copy this group this make sure dragging this. You see, my Texas still here, but it disappeared because Canada believes I am using a background which is too dark. So that's okay. Just have to remind I just have to remember that the Texas still here and I would go back to my white, okay. And I will on group this make this bigger. The frame like this bigger and this or so bigger. And I would call this mine main colors. All right. Weathers will center this, of course, like this. Okay, so this looks a little bit too big, so I can select everything and just reduce it slightly like this to give it more spacing. Okay, this looks good. All right, So now what I can do is create another page, because mostly in brand style guide, it's interesting to have our main colors our dominant countries for our brand. But it's also interesting to have some neutral colors. So neutral colors are our white, our black and maybe a few grays that we really use for maybe website, background or document background. Oh, are maybe your letterhead, whatever you like, but it's always nice to have some colors to play around with. So let's create another page. You know what? I'm gonna copy this page. So I already have the title. I don't have to recreate it right, and I could use the same circle. Just give them different colors, right? But because I'm going to use a white color white color on a white background won't be so. Won't be easy to distinguish, basically would be impossible. So let's see how it goes. Let's start with the grace, So I equal. So just like before, I have copied my neutral color hex codes here. So I have three graze and then I have my white six. Efs is white and six zeros is actually black. Let's start with this one the first great and change the color off this circle. And you know what? I would change the color. I will change the code of the great straightaway. Second, I really use my second hex code for the second grade. I'm going to speak this one up because it's gonna be quite so quick. Now I need a white and a black, so basically I can use black Black. You already have black canvas gives your black here, and this should be white. But as I was mentioning, if you do what you don't see your circle. So what we will do is use a little trick. Just get rid of this. Instead of using this kind of circle, I can see that Canada has different circles like this one with a border. So I'm going to use this border and there now I can put my white here, which is F f f f f f six f c and the black Forgot to change. It is six zeros. So now I have my neutral covers. Neutral colors make this centered. Okay, that's pretty cool. I would just bring this one right here so we can have some kind of better layout for the page. Let's make sure this centered. I think it's really good, and this finishes our lesson about colors.
11. Your Typography: Hello, guys. This is less than four of our brand style guide creation, and we are going to create a few more pages, but this time about your typography. So the types of funds that your company is using and we'll be using throughout, or sorts of different visual projects. So this is very useful to have this information in your brand style guide because you want to use the same funds. You want to create this consistency with your written language. All right, so let's get started. Aziz Usual would start with a cover. So let's add a new page. And by the way, you can. You can have in Canada up to 30 pages to your documents, so I believe this will be more than enough for Brand Stein Guide. We are now on page 12 right? Okay, so the first thing I want to be consistent, right? So we were using this bread kind of layout. Let's see if there is something I can use here, but basically, let's continue using this one slide for our covers. The first thing is to find the right visual. As always, I can try en type typography, see what comes into Canada. I can see there are a few nice visuals here that are free. So I want to show you that you can filter the most relevant or free only so can vary. Try to to sell you its membership for Canada for work. But you can just denied on go for free. All right, so this one is actually pretty interesting. So I will make sure I select my visual right here. And I would think this one and drop it here. Nice. So you can see this topography kind of visual in the background. So this is quite nice. And I can change the color off the shape behind it and maybe use this color to be consistent with our style. Pretty good. Okay, so I get rid of this, and I'm gonna write type for grab feet. And you know what? I'm going to try to create a little bit of an effect here and see how this looks typography . Nice. It looks pretty decent. So we have our cover. Let's move on to the second page. Let's create another page. Okay, so now let's see, if can VA has any layout in its layout library right here that could be convenient for our typography section of this brand style guide. This one, this one says brand guidelines. And if I remember correctly, I had a nice yes, see, here we have two different pages about typography, so let's let's use the 1st 1 Okay, let's select use this one. Okay, so it's not exactly what we want that obviously not our color is not our funds either, but we can customize it. Let's start by explaining which funds were using. So in this document we have been using to a different funds, we've been using, ah, railway and railway heavy. This latter letter heavy and Yellowtail are just the funds that are coming from this specific layout. But it's not the phones that we were using in the previous brand style guy. Like the document we've been working since the beginning of this section. So let's remember that so railway and railway heavy those are the two funds that we're using for our brand identity. So first, let's get rid of this branding here, branding there and let's use our own funds so that will be read, weigh heavy. So it says three idea uses to basic typeface. First, let's change this name for our own brand Feterik connection uses to basic typefaces like the work basics. It sounds cheap Yellowtail. So this is going to be right away Heavy for its logo, signature and accent. No, it's more for our main tight er's and headlines and latter for its headers and body text. So in railway for its headers and body text, that sounds more correct. So this one I'm going to use a little heavy gonna put this this and this one should be right away. Right? Um and I don't want Sorry, this one I want in upper case, but this one is the one I don't want in Replicate. Yes. And we've said that this is rail away for headers and body. And this big one right here is Reddaway heavy for the main titles. So now we are already representing visually our on refunds, our typography. So that's pretty good. I don't like this neon green right here, so No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Yes. I'm going to change this immediately like this and get rid of this extra branding there. Okay, Reddaway heavy ray away for headers. and body. Okay. And this is a text body. So maybe we can reduce this the size of this one. Maybe 21. Oh, and it's still a Tosi. So we need to change this for Redway. Great. And maybe this one make it bigger. Gonna make 32 and we will make this one a little bit bigger is what? Let's go 64. Now we just need to align them correctly and all right, just slightly, okay? It's pretty nice. So that's our first page. Gives us the information and down would be useful to use the second page like there are using. For example, in this second page off the layout, this is nice to actually see the typography. So similarly, I'm going to start by getting rid off these things. And then I will customize thes two blocks, so here should be really heavy. And this should be railway, so we can see that these elements are actually grouped. So we will on group them so we can work on them separately. This should be Reddaway heavy. And of course, we will use sorry, really heavy back in the center. And these also should be really heavy. And these as well There. Just this a little bit. And this same process for this one. This group of elements right here first are UN group. I will change this for Redway. I can see this is upper case. I would change this. This there's a lot of spacing in this word right there. So just so in bringing back back to zero. Sorry. Make sure center it again. And of course, change it to Redway. And I would do the same for this line. Should be right away. This one should always will be right away. And there we go. We have the upper case. Lower case is upper case. Lower case is for both our funds. We can center them. So I selected everything and just like before. I don't know if I start moving things like I can show you. If I start moving things, it's going to screw my design. So I want to de select the background. So I use shift click. And now I just have this group, Aiken group it and I would make sure it is centered. All right, so now the last thing I need to do is to change the color. I want this green to be white and I want I want to have, like, the opposite of this one slide. So basically, I want the blue to be green, like, uh, Teal and I want the green to be white. I'm gonna show you a little trick right here. I want this to be white wife and Canada gives me the opportunity to change all the green like neon green for white. I just click this and it would change everything automatically. So this is pretty need a nice shortcut. Now we have two slides. We have our cover plus two slides that represent our typography, our identity with our funds. So we know we use Redway. Redway heavy. Maybe I can even have this one in upper case. I need a new group like this. It makes sense. I just have to re centre de selected background. Always make sure your designs are well aligned. Well, center, this makes a huge difference. All right, that's it for this lesson about funds and typography.
12. Your Imagery: All right, guys, welcome back to our brand style guy. This is less than five, and we are going to speak about imagery in this lesson. So imagery, imagery style. You can give it different names, but basically it stands for what kind off identity are we going to give to our visuals? So visuals, meaning our photos, everything, our graphics, everything that has, basically that uses images to represent our brand. So it's important to have a very consistent imagery style so that our brand is recognized more easily and remembered. So if we use all kinds of filters, for example, we always play around were with change our filters, then it's not very consistent, and people won't relate to these images as oh, I recognize these images. These are the photos from Fair Trade Connection. No, this one happened if you don't have a consistent strategy for your imagery style. So this is what we are going to elaborate here in this lesson, and I suggest we start by simply creating a cover for our point on imagery. So so now you are getting used to this, I guess on we're using this layout right here with the bread. So I want to pick here on my first page and load my cover. Right? So, as usual, getting rid of all this thing here. This needs to say imagery, right? And the spacing needs to be adjusted. 2 40 There you go. I'm gonna make sure this is centered. They're and they're OK getting rid of this bread. And yes, and I want to find something related to images related to photo. So maybe try camera. Let's see, what can Va gives me? I can filter them, remember? I can Free only can. Still trying to sell me the membership. All right, let's see what free photos of a camera can. Va has been stuck for us. This one's pretty needs pretty nice. I could use that. This one is also nice, aren't I? Used this one. I like this one. Just drag it. Drop it here. All right. And the last thing is to change the color of this background. I will change this to courage. OK, so that's our first cover. Our first light traditional first lied. So let's have let's add a new page and delete this for ah, white background. I prefer to work with white backgrounds. So what we're going to do now is basically explain in one or two pages how we can or cannot use our images. Like, what style do we want to give our images? Do we want them black? Or why do we want them color? And then we're going to speak about how to use text over our images. Okay, so let's start with the basics, right For this, I'm going to import some photos that I have here prepared into Canada. And also, I want to work with placeholders. So let me show you here, in the elements, if you go to frames, you have different frames right there. So the frames are basically yes, placeholders off frames where you will be able to drop some images and they will take exactly the dimension of these frames. So let me find a frame that I like for my photos. I will use this one, and I need to on this page. So I just do this twice. And yes, that sounds about right. Just going to center this correctly. I want them here on the right side because I'm going to put some text on the other side. Okay, that looks nice. And now, by now, my photos should be ready. So what I want to do first is to explain that I want my brand. I want fair trade connection to use photos in color. I don't want black Envoy. I want my brand to be vivid. I want my brand to be full of color, full of life. Full of the nice things I we basically discovered traveling around the world toe click these photos. So I want the photos to reflect this. So I want to explain this in my first page in the basics. So let me use this photo, for example, that click on the first place holder and drop the photo here. I'm going to do exactly the same for the second. So these are exactly the same. Two photos when I want to explain is that I don't want black and white photos, so I'm going to select the second photo. Use a filter button right here. Advanced options. So there are two ways of putting your photo black and white. You could go gray scale like this, and this is already a filter, basically, so you can see that the settings have changed. So let me show you back to normal, okay? And the other way off. Creating a black and white photo black and white is basically no colors. So you d saturate. You bring the saturation down all the way to zero, and then you have a black and white photo. So that's what we don't want. Eso. Let's explain this. Let's create a title. I can bring this here and it's called this the basics. I want this to be using the funds. So the front is Reddaway heavy for my main titles. I want this to be bigger and I want to the align adjusted on the left. That's pretty good. Yes, that's perfect. And I want this to be arranged. So now I'm just going to create a little text bucks. And this can be longer or so a line to the left and I want to explain. Our photos should be in color, and we are going to Connor correct each of them. Okay, so we want to color correct our photos. Let me change the front really quick for this one. We will use it right away. On this will be 18. Looks good. All right. And I will copy this text box to explain what we don't want right here. So what we don't want is our photos in black and white. We will never use black and white for our photos. We want colors. So now we have the basic explanation. But what does it mean? That we want our photos color corrected. So basically, there are a few options right here, and what we can do to have our photos color corrected is to boost a few of these settings we could boost. The brightness could boost a little bit of the contrast and a little bit of the saturation that makes our photos pop a little bit more. If you can see this one, I will go undo and redo. See, it pops a little bit more so what I can do. And this is a little trick. Maybe you do have a similar tool. Maybe you don't, but it may show you I use, um a little too right here. Course screen press Oh, to screen Shut my my screen. So I did this previously, A screenshot this entire area right here. And I have the screen shut right there. So I'm going to use this. You don't have to do this. Just a little trick. You could simply create a little post a little textbooks on top of the 1st 1 and explained basically the same information. But I thought it would be nice to have it explained visually. So this is what I mean by boosting the brightness, the contrast and saturation. So those are the settings I want to influence? Let's say when I color correct my photos. Okay, So one more thing I want to do, I want to use the little cross in the little tick like we have been using previously in the logo sections. So one tick and one cross, right? Yes. We put them on top of another because we want to make them smaller both at the same time. So we would do like this. OK, so that's our first page. Now let's create a second page Do like this. So what I can do is copy this photo right here and bring it here. So I have exactly the same size, which is convenient, and I want two of these. I was checking this margin right here and I can see I have more space. So that's me being a perfectionist again. But I just I really want to to make the best possible document. And that's really the mentality. While using can Vies, let's create the best possible document. Uh, okay, So what I want is to get rid of these images, I'm going. I'm going to use other images, The other images, I upload it. So this one and this one. Okay, so now I'm going to speak about using text on my images. I want to explain, for example, if I want to add a text to this image. So let's say I want to add the texts. Knitting is my passion. Okay, let's use our fund really heavy. Let's put this in upper case. Let's bring less hate between the lines If I can place this. Yeah, when I wanted to explain with this specific page is that it is fine to use text over your images, but it is not fine toe cover. Your main focus points with your text. So if I do this, it is really not what I want to achieve right. It's It's just not professional. So I want to place position my text somewhere where it's not obscuring on important element of my photo. So first I'm going to align. This takes on the right So I have more space and I still can see that this is too big. So also not enough contrast. I'm going to put this white now. My text is not obscuring any important part of my image and this is OK, so let's express this in a little textbook. So I'm going to copy this text books, okay. And I have prepared here basically what I just said when using text onto images, always ensure the copy is clearly legible. The text can be placed anywhere in the image area, but do not obscure the main focus of the image with text. So that's exactly what we've been doing like this. Just a little bit of adjustments so that the text is actually nicely displayed. And I'm going to highlight or make this first sentence bold. So I know what this image is trying to to give me as as an information in my brand style guide. So when I see this image, I would remember directly off. That's when I used text onto my images. Good. So I want to show you now another way off showing texts another common way. And I've seen many brands using is by using strips. So a strip is basically a shape that you will be positioning underneath your text. So how to do this? Well, you simply use a shape. Make sure I'm clicking here. I'm gonna use this shape. I'm going to shape it as I wish. Let's see something like this. Let's try this. So I'm going to copy this text, carpi, All right? And I'm going to position here. So this time is not knitting on this photo but painting. So painting is my passion fainting? Let's see, Maybe I can reduce. You know what? I'm going to zoom in on this on this page because I'm working with a tiny picture right there, So Okay, that's much better. So I can see that you see, the the textbooks is not completely Yeah, it's sticking out a little bit, okay? And it's also too long, so I can simply make it smaller. And I'm going to now center this text Now I'm going to select the text and the shape and the strip. But you can see so I just drag my mouth right there. It selects the photo as well. So, as you remember, shift a command and click to de Select. Now I have only these two elements selected and just copy them business here. And I want this to be separated a little bit. Not too much. So I'm just going to use the arrows. 1234 Um, painting is my I think this reduced this. I want this to be centered. So you see Canada, we show me when I am exactly centered. So that's useful. Fainting is my. And again I'm going to do the same trick. Select this shift A command click toe on select copy. I'm going to paste it here and add four spaces with my arrow key on the keyboard. 1234 and change Painting for fashion painting is my passion. Passion. Sorry. And first I want to clip this exactly. And then this one there. Okay, so that looks pretty decent. What I can do is change the color of these stripes. Let's make them blue. And usually it's good to stay within your color palette when you do this, so try to respect this. All right? And now what I can do is change the color of my text for Black for maximum contrast, so that this looks better. Andi, There you go. Right. So now all I have to do is to explain in a little text books like this one exactly the same , basically explaining what I've done. And I have this little bit of text here that explains it. You can, of course, right, whatever is important for your company. But for me, in this example, it was the fact that I'm using strips. So if using strips, I put this involved to hold your text. Do not obscure the main focus of the image. Choose an image and text that we work together to the best effect. You can use any color from the color palette. In this case, we used the blue for the strips. Always use black or white for the text. Overly animism back out and appreciate what we've been doing here. So we have been creating three different pages that cover the first explanation about imagery style, the basics for the fact that we will be using our photos in various colors instead of black and white. We will never use black and white. We really use text over our photo, which is OK, but only if it's white or black. And we will not obscure any important part of the images. And it is also okay to use strips on our photos to hold our text. These trips can be any color of our color palette, and the text should also be black or white. That's it. Now you have all the information you need to create a consistent style with your photos and imagery.
13. Your Voice: Hello and welcome back to Canada. This is the last lesson off this section about building your own brand style guide. We are almost at the end of it. We are almost ready to push this download button that we want to push so bad. But there is one more thing I want to talk about, and this is the voice of your company. Voice is hugely underestimated in the company's marketing mix. A lot of companies invest a lot of money in their look and feel, you know, the color, the logo, the textures, the typography and everything. But not so many companies really take the time to define what differentiates them while using the tone of voice. Your tone of voice is not so much what you say, but how you say it. It's the impression it leaves on your audience on your customers if you develop it carefully. If you really take time to think about the tone of voice you would be using with your company, this could be a secret ingredient in your brand's recipe. So let's go ahead. Let's come back to Canada and let's finish this brand style guide. We are almost done we have the logo. We have, um, the color palettes. We have the typography. We have the imagery style. And now what? We need to develop easier voice. So let's continue in the same, consider with the same consistency and create another page. We will continue with our toasts template right here for the cover. So let's import this one. Greats getting rid of the text that we don't need. This this this one will say voice. All right. As usual, we will reduce the spacing 2 40 Okay, Looks good. And we would choose a background color from our call it palette. Uh, I kind of want to go with this sky blue right here. OK, so that's our cover. No need to change this visual. So let's see what we have here. Maybe we can find something related to ah, voice a microphone. Let's see. Microphone What they have. All right, so this is quite nice. He would fit with our previous kind off. Let's let's see, what else? Um, yeah, these microphones. This quite see what it is. This microphone could also work. Uh, let's use this. This is quite funky. I like it. Get down at a funky sound. All right, let's go ahead and create the second pitch now by clicking this button right here. And I want to create this layout where I have two different columns because I have some words that I want to use. I want to say Okay. In my tone of voice, I'm using we and us and I'm not talking in terms off fair trade connection, blah blah, blah. I'm also I'm talking in terms off producer countries and not in terms off poor countries or developing countries or Third World countries. So basically, I want to represent in this one page the difference between the worst I am using and the words I will never use. So this will give us an indication off what to say. What not to say. So let's find this type of layout. So let's explore the layouts tab right here and try to find something that could work in this in this regard. So this is kind of two columns, but I can see one is bigger than the other. I would like to have two similar sizes of column to really split my page into. To hear this this page here could work, but I can have want something with a photo in the background. So I'm gonna use this one. All right. I imported here. Of course. I don't want this khaki color. I want to use my blue color. I want to replace this photo by something more related to voice. So now, um, this color shape right here, I want to make it less transparent. I guess this is pretty transparent. This is 36%. I want to bring this up because I want to barely see the photo in the background. So I leave it at 85. All right. And as you can see, I have only one color shaped. I will duplicate this color shape by cupping it, basting it right there. All right. It creates a line in the middle, which is fine. And I will change the color of this one for my darker blue, for example. That looks pretty neat. All right, my texts, um, it needs to be railway anyways. Not latter. So now it is re away. I make it a little bit bigger. Okay, so I'm going. I want to start explaining, okay, We use this and that this We use this and that. This So I have, um my text material here. I'm going to center this text and maybe make it a little bit bigger. Maybe 21. Okay, bring this here. Now, I'm going to copy this text, and I'm I will align it on the other side and use what we don't see. So we never talk in terms off federal connection. Good. We have our first information. And what we should not say. It's copy this text block and continue. So by now, I think you get the idea. We are just going to use this material right here. And I will copy this to explain the words that we don't use. All right. What is it that we don't use? Not poor artisans off farmers. All right, so now we have our second information and sentence that we don't use. It's copied and continually exercise. So what else? Um, producer countries, we refer to producer countries, not 1/3 World countries. And I think we have one more on Yes, one more. We work with factoring organizations, not Federated businesses or companies. Okay, that is good. Just need to put nuts I don't kid like this make it consistent. All right, This is pretty good looking. That's a line this a little bit better. Okay, so I selected everything. And now I'm going to hold shift and de select. Yes, I'm gonna group this. Well, something happened here. It seems like the text when back underneath this color shaped we're gonna take care of this in a moment. But now I just want to center this text, all right? And selecting my shape here, pushing arrange button and push it back in Texas back on and feels like this page is a little bit bland. I could I could use some something to make it a little bit more lively. A little bit more fun. So I'm thinking maybe I could add an icon here in the middle. Um, let me see what we have is go ahead with this one. Obviously, this is very big. Let's make it smaller and center this okay? And maybe change the color of this one toe white. So we have more contrast, Doesn't look that good and go control z. All right. Make it a little bit smaller. What I would do is I will create a round shape to put underneath this microphone like this . Make the smaller. Let me see. That's not bad. Um, okay, I'm gonna push this backwards first. All right? I'm gonna reduce the size of this microphone a little bit, and I want to use this color right here to use the same color as my like, the external line on my circle right here. And the the great I would change it. Now, this has more contrast. So what I'm gonna do is basically select the microphone, select what's behind it to the circle on group this and make this smaller again center. It needs to be centered a little bit more. Okay, That looks good. Reduce its size. It is centered. It does look nice. And it's not over my texts. Not too close to my text. So I'm pretty happy about this. Um, not Third World countries are developing countries that third world countries, developing countries or poor countries Let's get rid of this second or yes, that works that we work perfect. That leaves me more space here. And that's isolate my icon a little bit more. So that's exactly what I was trying to do Perfect. Okay, so we have our second page. This is what we do. Use what we don't use. Maybe we should accentuate this like Do's and dont's. So let's create two additional text titles here that we will put on top of each of these columns. Let's say Do's and dont's if we really want to make sure this is well centered, we go all the way to the edge and we would do the same thing here like this Center it and there you go. All right. Our second page is now complete. Let's finalizes document. We need one more page And in this last page we are going to speak about our tone of voice. Right, So we do have a couple of information here in my word pad document. Our tone of voice is informal but not sloppy expert but not bossy, confident but not cocky, energetic, happy and positive and generous and helpful. So basically I want one page that lets me introduce this information that let me basically Ah yes, explained these characteristic of our tone of voice. So let me find in the layout if we do have something that could correspond to this? Yes, it was in the toast document. Yes, this one slide right here. So I'm going to import it. Okay, Maybe one thing I'm not so sure about this blue color here now that we mentioned it. But let me see, Maybe I could play around. Yes, that would be nicer. Look, look at distance. And now we have kind of the continuation of this one. So, um, what we can do with this one is continuing the blue color like this. We really drop another photo here. Of course. Let me check what we have here. Maybe a change microphone for Sorry for voice. See what comes up. Let's see if the radio works. Take it. Drop it here. And I would double click on it to re center, not the cassette parts. Maybe this part looks kind of chord. Yes, that could work. Okay, so this change this text for our tone of voice. Okay, let's move it a little bit to the top and maybe make this bigger. 36 would go 48. Yes, that's not bad. All right, so now I'm going to replace these things with my text. Maybe I can change this or so to something nicer. Maybe this purple right there and increase. Oh, decrease the transparency. So we have something similar to this one. So this is nice. All right, so next is experts, but not Busey. Confidence always from getting the first letters here. Confident but not cocky, energetic, happy and positive in transparency. 25. There you go. And the last one almost done here. Guys hold on generous and have four. Our color transparency 25. All right, that looks about rights. I'm just going to center this a little bit better like this. This and maybe this something is wrong with this. What is it? Yes, that's the letter spacing. That's more to it. All right, Our turn of voice informer, but no sloppy expert, but not Busey. Confident but not cocky, energetic, happy and positive, generous and help for that seems about right, and so we have our cover. We have the do's and dont's and we have our tone of voice. So that's it for this lesson. This finishes our section about creating your brand style guide. So we are very excited now because we have what, 20 pages and it's it's finished it's done. So now we have created a very useful document that will be that we will be using throughout the rest of this course to create the different visuals and pieces of material that we need to create our brand kit. So go ahead, push that download button, maybe select PdF standard or print, depending on the quality you want. Print would give you a higher quality, and standard would give you a smaller five side, so I just go for standard or pages. Don't know. Hold on tight. Recurring your design.
