1. Intro: Hello everyone. My name is Bob. I'm an artist and teacher
here on skillshare. And over the course of
the ensuing lesson that may be taking you
from amateur to pro, one of the most powerful tools
on the Internet today in Chat G T. This is my second class in
artificial intelligence, the first previous
class of my journey. And so by now I've accumulated a reasonable degree
of mass street on artificial intelligence. Hence who I'm bringing
this class to you today. By now, I'm sure most
of you have heard of the capabilities of Chat GPT. Its ability to answer
questions conversationally, compose E mails,
solve math problems, and so on and so forth. Think of it as a
virtual chat companion that generates human like responses to the questions or the inputs that you give it. In this class, I'll be covering everything from the basics of account set up to user
interface navigation, as well as a series of different
commands and functions to maximize the utility
of chat GPT to you. The command you'll be
learning will be useful in everything from
business to education, fine arts, web design, writing, and so on and so forth. So without further
ado, let's get to it.
2. Account creation & setup: In order to use chat GBT, we first have to
create an account. Luckily first that's
pretty simple to do that. Head over to your browser
and type in the search box. Chat open.com and hit Enter. It'll bring you to the homepage. To just go ahead and click
Sign up on the sign up page. You have the option of
signing up with your e mail, Microsoft accounts
or Apple accounts. Pick whichever you like
and press continue, Enter a password and go to your email address to
verify your accounts. Once you verify your E mail, head back over to the
website to fill in some of your personal information
like name and phone number. If you put in your phone number, the website will send you one
time temporary access code that you can type
in the Te code box to move on to the next step. Just like that, you
have your very own chat GPT accounts onto the next.
3. Navigating the user interface: To properly utilize chat GPT, one has to be able to navigate
through it efficiently. Fortunately, the UI for the
software is pretty simple. This is the landing
page we're working out from over on the left Paine, it shows your chat history, which is a line summary of the prompts and commands
you've run in the past. Below that, if you click on your profile icon and then
on custom instructions, you can modify the
manner in which Chat GPT delivers the
solutions to your problems. You do this by giving you more background information
about yourself, stating specifically
how you would like it to answer
your questions in order to get feedback from the software that's better
tailored to your needs. If you just hover
over the text boxes, you can get some ideas
on what to type in. To maximize the effect
of this customization, remember to toggle
on the button title to enable for new chats if you want these adjustments to take effect in
subsequent sessions. Once you're done, click Save. If you typed anything, if not, cancel and we're on to the next. Still on that same panel, click on Settings and on
the general tab, we have a few functions
to work with. The first thing, we can
change the website aesthetic. That is to say, we can change
the theme from either dark to light to system depending
on our preferences. I like to keep mine on
dark just because my eyes hurt that there while
staring at the white screen. Or maybe you prefer otherwise,
always expand code. Output is a function
that's relevant if you're commanding the AI to write code and would like it to expand or abbreviate it, code. If you wanted to expand
the code output, just toggle that button on. Below that, we have
archive chats. You have archive
chats previously. You can archive them and
have them show up on your chat panel or delete
the conversation altogether. Alternatively, the
option exists to archive all your chats all at once for the sake of
storing your history. You can do so by
clicking this button. And last but not least, the
delete all function clears your entire chat history and gives you an opportunity
to start afresh. Moving on to data controls, you can decide whether or
not you want the AI to save your chat history to potentially improve future
models of the software. I'd like to keep this on as
I see no harm in doing so. If you've shared
links in the past, you can manage them
here by viewing the source chat or
deleting the link. And if you want to export your data to your e mail
for record purposes, that option is available to. It takes a bit of time
to process and you have exactly 24 hours to download data once you receive the link. This section of settings
is also where you can delete your account
permanently if you so desire. Be careful about doing
this, because once you do, you will not be able
to use the same E mail to make a new account. And it will take 30 days for your data to be
deleted completely. Below settings, you
can log out from Chat GPT here and
above the name tab, You can upgrade from
the free version of the software to
Chat GPT and team. The main advantages are access
to more tools like Ali, which is great for
artistic image generation, advanced data analysis for
my quantners out there, and a faster, more capable
engine in chat GPT four. In exchange for these
added features, you'll be required to
pay $20 a month for the plus and 25 a month
for the team. I'm sticking to the free
version for this class just to make sure I appeal to
the widest audience. Obviously, not everyone
has the resources. Not to mention you might find the free version
sufficient for your needs. Over in the top
left, you can create a new chat by clicking
the new Chat button. Once you do, you have access to the chat box and
you can ask away. For example, I'll add
chart GPT to show me the mathematical proof to
validate that pi is 2207. And it gives me a
pretty decent answer as to what pi actually is. I'll just give you a second
to read through this. If I then click on New
Chat, we can start afresh. However, we can still
go back to the old one by clicking on
it in the left pane. The point here is you
can run multiple chat, simultaneously chat, GPT, like online search engines, actually remembers what
you've asked me before and factors that into the responses it gives you in your new chat. When I ask how many colors
that day in the rainbow, I get the answer which is seven. But if I follow up by asking which color is the
shortest wavelength, I get a more precise answer
with a bit of explanation. In essence, there's
a through line running through the
entire conversation. Let's click on New Chat
again on the screen. Presently we have these
four rectangular tabs which hint to us some of
what the software can do. It's not always the
same suggestions, it changes periodically,
but it can give you some ideas as
to what to type in. The suggestions range
from asking for a front pack a L Lakers, to request to design a
database schema and even writing a report on the
history of pre industrial age. This is just a glimpse
of what's to come. I trust that at this juncture
you have a good feel for navigating the user interface and you're ready
for the next step. That's all for this one. So.
4. How not to use ChatGPT: The title of this video
is a bit tongue in cheek, and in some sense it really
is about how not to use a BT. First and foremost,
I have created this class with the
professional creative in mind. However, much of what you
will learn here can apply across a broad range of
field and professions. Some of the areas
you're going to touch on in this class include, prompt to improve our
workflow for art instruction, freelance writing,
social media posts coding, and much more. A very important
point to consider as we move forward is
that the effectiveness of AI is contingent upon the
quality of data you provide. The higher the quality
and amount of data, the more precise the
result you'll get. If your data is inaccurate, chances are the predictions
by the software will be to. In addition, the free
version of Cha GPT has its records updated
to January 2022. So topical questions about an election cycle or
a new car launched by Tesla will not elicit relevant answers.
Nothing to fear though. I'll be teach you
how to work around the limitations of
the software and ask the right questions to improve the particular
workflow that you have. Let's offer this video. Thanks for watching.
I'll see you soon.
5. Crafting effective AI prompts: If you mess around
with chat GPT and got answers that are
basic and generalized. Because have a
combination of how the AI is set up and quite possibly the way you wrote your prompts to get
meaningful responses, you have to write prompts with the necessary parameters to extract the most out
of the software. In this video, I'll delve into the essential aspects of effective prompt
writing for chat GPT. Usually, a group chat
GPT prompt will contain a clear subject matter,
explicit instructions, details about what you want, the tone of the
response formatting, and the target audience. So let's try an
example. Imagine you're a photography coach assisting beginners and capturing
compelling images. Your mission is to
educate them on the precise camera settings, framing and
composition techniques for creating impactful
photographs. How would you guide these
photography enthusiasts to express their unique
perspectives through the lens? Okay, that's a mart form, but I'll break it down
for you in a second. The first key element of
this prompt is the framing. I'm telling Cha GPT to
take on the role of a photography coach as it attempts to
answer the question. This is important because
that extra detail will influence the perspective from which your answer will be given. Next, I have included our demographic, which
are beginners. This detail instruct
GPT to couch its response in terms a beginner photographer
could comprehend. From there, I go on to
highlight our goal, which is to educate said
beginners on the precise, not general precise
camera settings, framing and composition
techniques they'll use to create impact photos impact. Another important adjective. I'm sure you sent a theme here. Our word choice
is very important if we are to avoid the kind of generic answers that most casual users of
the software gets. To wrap up the prompts,
we then ask AI. Given all that we
have stated so far, how would you guide these
photography enthusiasts to express their
unique perspectives? Instead of saying, how
can you take nice photos, which isn't bad per se, but it lacks the nuance that would trigger
more complete answers. You can even follow
up this problem by asking what photography
exercises will best equip these beginners
to shoot in manual for wildlife excursions, but still providing
enough information that Chat GPT can give
you useful feedback. Another way you can bring
the fonts is like this. Imagine you're an obturator
launching a campaign to promote an upcoming
digital art exhibition, exploring the intersection of
technology and creativity. It goes to engage in
text, have audience, highlight the
innovative aspects of the artworks and create
anticipation for the exhibition. I need your help to
develop a slogan. Choose the most effective
media channel for promotion, and propose any
additional activities to captivate the interest of
the target demographic. I know this is a love to
take, but as you practice, you start to understand how to set up a prompt consistently for success at the start of the prompt and giving
the AI persona to adopt. You are an art curator. This is what you will be doing and these are your stated goals. With that in mind, I need you Cha GPT to develop a slogan, pick the right promotional
channels, et cetera. I want you to think of Cha
GPT as a virtual companion of sorts that is capable of morphing into any form
and doing your bidding. As long as you tell it explicitly what it
is you want done. The ideal Cha GPT prompt should have the key
elements I have on screen pisona that
the AI will be operating from the subject
matter under consideration, context or background
information. The purpose behind the prompt, specific details in lent limits, and finally, a call to action. If you follow this template as a baseline with all
the elements in place, I guarantee you that whatever
content you plan on making, whether that be social
media related copywriting, e mail composition, et cetera, will come out much better. With that said, feel free to sprinkling your own
bit of creativity. I don't always follow
the structure verbatim, but it's useful to
have it to fall back on if I'm not getting
the feedback I want. That about wraps it up for this video. Thanks
for sticking with me. I'll see you soon.
6. Basic questions: The first command type we'll be looking at is a basic question. Some examples of
these question types include the age of
a famous figure, the definition of a word. Basically your standard one
liner is not unintended. The feedback you will get typically will be a single line, a couple of paragraphs
at the most. In this capacity,
you're using a GPT, much like a search engine. Let's try it out. Our
first question will be, what is the Latin roots
of the word educate? Once I type that
out, I'll hit Enter. The result is a
paragraph concisely explaining just that it has
its roots in the word educ, meaning to bring forth or
develop one's potential. Below that response, you
can do a few things. One copy the response if you
want to paste it elsewhere to regenerate the response for a variation of the answer
you've just been given. And lastly, the thumbs
up or thumbs down button to register how you felt
about the response, the regenerate button,
I tend to use the most. It's not as useful for
simple questions like this, but when we get into more
complicated queries, its value will be more apparent. If you move over
to the left pane, you can see that your chat
has already been named. You have the option to rename it Share Archive or delete
the chat if you want to. Let's get back to
our response here. You can scroll back
and forth between the different versions
of the responses by clicking these arrow buttons, assuming you regenerated
the responses. Part of the beauty
of the software, like I alluded to
earlier, is we can build upon this information. Next, I'll ask Chad GPT
What conclusions can we draw from the response we received on the
previous question? Straight away, Chad
GPT gives us a set of logical conclusions about
the concept of education, and how we can apply
it to our lives. Ideas like purposeful
instruction and unveiling our potential as people encapsulate the
conceptual foundation of the word educates. There's really so much
you can do from here, IE. Use the word educating a
sentence like you see on screen, translate the word into
ten different languages and so on and so forth. Periodically, ChagPT will ask you for feedback
on its responses, so feel free to thumbs
up or thumbs down to better help your fellow users
give more accurate answers. As so, for this video,
see the next one.
7. Idea generation: In this video, I'll go
over how you can use the software to generate
lists and ideas. This could be
anything ranging from a weekly meal plan sample, to fiction book ideas, to a list of fitness
goals for the month. You can really do whatever
you want to begin, I'll start a new chat and ask
Cha GPT to give me a list of ten exercises to improve
my painting ability at roll. This is what we get as a
painter myself. I must say. This is an excellent array of exercises to perform to
get better at the craft. On the surface, this
seems pretty basic still you get this info with a little digging on
a search engine. The difference is we can
make our inquiries more specific and get a
customized response. For example, I'll ask Cha GPT to give me a list
of ten exercises to improve my painting ability as an advanced painter who
only paints in watercolor. Clearly a very
specific question, and as I scroll
through the answers, I'm almost astonished as to
the quality of the response. Things like a limited
power challenge, granulation, negative painting, and fine details of
small brushes are certainly exercises that would help an advanced water colorist. Going over my prompt again, it's important to
highlight the fact that I chose a specific
number of exercises, chose my skill level, and then the medium that I use. The more detailed your question, the more you can extract
from the software.
8. Content creation: This next functionality will
center around how you can generate long form writting work for things like transcripts, e mails, essays, and more. To test this out,
our Asha GPT to write me a 100 word
summary of World War Two from the perspective of
the allied forces in the writing style of
historian Max Hastings, centering around key
battle containing points. This is what we get. You can pause the video to read
through it, but I have, even though I'm historian
who reads pretty good to me, I also check it in the
word counter and I see that it's 100 words,
which is close enough. You can modify this
point further. You want to either
change the word counts or the events or the
perspective you get. Just you have
ultimate flexibility in how you impute that command. Let's try another example.
So you want the template for land tie agreements between two parties containing all
the relevant stipulations. Instead of scrolling
through PDF and Google hoping to
find the right one, you can get what you're
looking for right here. Without further ado, I as GPT to write me a detailed
business contract between Vince Young and Bobby
Jones for the sale of 200 acres of land for
$4,000,000 as of July 12, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia. Containing all the
relevant stipulations for a contract of this nature. Scrolling through this
land tail agreement, I'm pretty impressed
with the level of detail and thoroughness. Of course, you could
swap the names out for the names in your own
particular situation. All the location,
all the price tall. A question of telling the
prompt to suit your needs. From this point, you could
just copy this response out, paste it in Microsoft Word
and edit it to your liking. Of course, this is
not legal advice. You probably want to
run official documents like this through
legal professional. But it is a starting point
for our next problem. We'll go with something
a bit more creative. Perhaps you have an
old friend who has fallen ill and is going
through hard times. We won't write a letter to them. That was Sound
convincing. Bow, a twist. It should be written in
the style of Eugen Z. Young adults with an
inspirational tone. My prompt to be as follows. Write an inspirational
handwritten letter from me to my best friend. Incorporating and D
slangs and chores for Marcus Aurelius meditations on how we can overcome the
downward pull of zones. This letter should be 150 words long and reference
our history together. This is what GPT returns. I'll give you a second. Can
go through this personally. I love this response. I mean, the slang usage is
a bit exaggerated, but it's close enough that this answer is
pretty entertaining. The juxtaposition
between story quotes and modern slang is pure gold. And the overall theme of the letter is very
inspirational. I might just save
this for later. Now let's dive into crafting competing titles
for fun art pieces, exhibitions, or any
creative endeavor that aims to capture
the view's attention. A striking title accompanied
by eloquent descriptions and impactful bullet points can significantly enhance
the perceived value of what you sell. When utilizing air to
generate these titles, I want to emphasize
specific details, such as subject matter clearly articulate the theme
of my artwork, whether it's a serene landscape or a vibrant
abstract expression. Additionally, I have to
consider the tone and style, whether it's poetic, whimsical,
or thought provoking. If we incorporate all
these elements correctly, we will be able to generate
a list of titles that resonate with the preferences
of our target audience. All right, so I prompt
to be as follows. I'm a representational
painter who specializes in creating realistic figure
paintings and portraits. I need title recommendations for a recent painting of a nymph, ancient folklore, eminating a brave warrior as he arrives at a stream dream. The scene is the
wooded forest at dawn with water lies
on the river bed. And expressions of
excitement in the face of the nymph and intrigue
on that of the warrior. This painting contains
elements of Porter realism and abstract paint textures to
deliver a compelling story, interaction between
these two worlds. Providing you with a list
of ten compelling titles and the why behind those titles. Like you learned in
the previous lesson on crafting effective prompts, we stated out persona, which is that of a representation
of painter, What we do, what we want, the
subject matter, and specific details
about the artwork. The list we go was phenomenal. I mean, I love all
these recommendations. I regenerated this
prompt a few times. My favorite has to
be Aurora's area, if nothing else, because
it sounds so poetic. Before we proceed,
your assignment in this moment is to
take the prompt structure've outlined so far, head to Chan GPT and craft a specific prompt tillts
your needs and objectives. Share the outcome whether
it's an outline or a list of ideas via screenshots in the project and
resources section. And move on to the next
lesson when you're finished.
9. Solving complex problems: One of the domains where the
utility of chat GPT is most evident is in its ability to problem solve
complicated issues. Take for example, you programmer
writing some CQL code and you make an error but cannot decipher the roots of set error. You can copy that piece of code, paste it in chat GPT and ask it to help you
solve the problem. Just like that, we
get an answer to the problem that's way more detail than the
feedback you would get on the actual database
management software for my data analysts out
there. I'm sure you'd agree. I can verify myself
as the author of that Q command
that the value of the select clause
is in fact missing a column alias and thus
triggering an error. I'll do one more quick example, so you get stock in a
calculus problem in college and you can't seem to
find the answer on Google. Check, vast tutors or wherever. You can copy the question
and bring it into chat GPT and there's a good chance it will have an answer for you. I'll simply ask it to solve the following calculus problem. Paste the question in some
quotation marks and hit Enter. Now, I haven't done
calculus in a long time, but I can verify through the websites I got the
question from, that this answer is correct. However, that's not in the
format I'm looking for, so I'll include the options for the question in a
subsequent command. And now chat GPT gives
me the right answer. In my preferred formats, I'm sure you can
extractolate from what I've covered here in myriad
of different ways. You can apply this software to brainstorm or solve questions
of a similar nature. That's all for this
one. I'll see soon.
10. Social media posts: I'm sure by now you'll gain a grasp of the inner
workings of Cha GPT. I'm starting to feel
pretty confident about your ability
to get things done. No need to spend
endless hours bringing storming ideas or
perfecting captions. Instead, craft a specific
prompt that guides the way. Let's see an author
getting ready for a book launch and you want to announce it on social media. Your pumpture encompass crucial
details about your book, such as the genre writing style, and overarching theme, including
elements like the tone you wish to convey and any variations you
like in your post. To create effective
social media post, follow this prompt structure. First, identify who your
post is intended for. Consider their interests
and demographics. Specify the tone of your posts. It serious,
lighthearted, inspiring, informative, define
your call to action. What do you want readers to
do after seeing this post? Let's visit your website,
checking out your book, adding your comments, or
even share in the post. Don't forget to include
relevant keywords and hash tags for
increased visibility. Consider the ideal post length with the understanding that the AI will automatically
adjust to character limits. With that in mind, let's look at an example. The
prompt is as follows. I'm a famous author releasing a new book to my fan
base in a few weeks. My new book is a fictional novel about a love story between a man whose memory only lasts a day and the woman in his
life who loves him. Regardless, create an
Instagram post with an upbeat and inspirational tone that's concise and engaging, included in a call to action. To encourage users
to sign up at a link to secure a copy of the
book at the launch date. Incorporate relevant hashtags to maximize the searchability
of the post. This is what we got from DAI, a well crafted and very
engaging Instagram post that we can further modify to
add our own personal touch. By the way, you can
keep regenerating the responses to find one you really love and
then go from there. Not to mention, you can
rewrite your initial prompt if you find the tone of the post doesn't
feel quite right. With a tool like this
at your disposal, social media posts hopefully should be a breeze from now on. See your next lesson. Bye bye.
11. Perfect feedback loop: In this section, I'll
demonstrate how we can leverage GPT to get sound feedback
on propose ideas. This is an especially useful function if you want feedback on an essay business plan or even the appropriateness
of your work e mail. I'll go with a business plan
for the sake of this video. So imagine you want to start your own smartphone company and you have a condensed version
of your business plan. You want the software
to critique. That's exactly what I'm going
to type out here with me. It's going to take a
minute to spell out, but here we go, my
pretenties as follows. Critique this business plan. I want to start a
smartphone company that will compete with
Samsung and Apple. Our line of
smartphones will range in costs $5000-10 thousand. Our point of
differentiation will be our high ethics with regard
to worker compensation, precious metal sourcing,
and eco friendly packaging. We have engaged in thorough
market research and as such, our phones at top of the line technologically in
place already is an excellent supply chain
and many channels to deliver our products put online and
in brick and mortar stores. With regards to marketing, we've employed services of
famous tech tube buyers like Markis Brownie, and celebrities like Gren
Johnson to push our phones. In addition, mechanisms
are already in place to garner customer
feedback through our website and
social media page to enable us to innovate in the right direction.
Oh my goodness. Thousand artful In
response chat GPT highlights the
strengths of my plan and gives me several
areas of improvement. Before I dive into the
details of the answer, I want to point out
that I tried out a few different business plans with varying levels
of completeness. And I found that
the more elaborate and fleshed out
your business plan, the higher quality
the feedback was. So that's important to remember. I'll touch upon, briefly, some of the feedback on this command. As far as strengths
differentiation through high ethics and strategic marketing partnerships
are the ones that really speak to me and I think would
resonate with people especially in the Western world
V areas for improvements. I mean, they're all great
in general and you can pause the video to read
through each one yourself. But as a former
financial analyst, I love the financial
projections critique. It's so important
as a business to have a path to profitability and clearly outline how
you can generate a positive ROR to investors. I hope you found this useful. I'll see you in the
next one. Bye bye.
12. Scriptwriting assistance: This video is basically about the ways in which you can prompt the software to make
modifications to your commands. This includes things like
language translation, paraphrasing, an
article you read, evaluating the pros
and cons of an idea, and even changing the
tone of an e mail to sound friendlier
or more professional. All these functions are pretty powerful if you use
them the right way. And I'll show you
just how in a second. Let's begin by typing
the work E mail, where we criticize a
junior employee for meeting up to a deadline
and phrase it very rudely. Next, I'll put that e
mail in quotations and as GPT to rephrase the e mail to sound polite
and constructive. And the result is a much less belligerent
and empathic response to a coworker that is falling
short of expectations. We can also translate text
to any language you want for that type and translate the foreign text from
English to French. Today is a great deal to be
learning about Chat GPT and I'm excited about the future of artificial intelligence
in our lives. In a few seconds, we get
the text back in French. Now, of course, you can do
this in Google Translate. Nothing that special about it. On Chat GPT, we can go
even further and ask the software to give us a
response in colloquial French, and we get a slightly
different answer from my French folks out there. You can now be confirmed that
this in fact makes sense, but based on lower French I do. Now it looks good to me. Lastly, I'll take
a paragraph from an article I wrote
about Davinci and ask the software to paraphrase it in 50 words for me to get
something similar. The original excerpt
was about 100 words, but somehow Chat GPT
was able to distill that paragraph to these 50 words and still capture
the essence of it. It really is amazing to see. Take what you've
learned here and apply it to your specific situations. Chad GPT can not only help you do what we discussed
in this video, but also things like
creating variations, expanding on ideas, clarifying and simplifying,
and so much more. Let's offer this video. I'll see you next one. Bye bye.
13. How to do anything: In this video, I
discuss how you can use Chat GPT to learn to
perform a variety of tasks. It can be as basic as asking for detailed instructions on how to bake a vanilla
cake with a twist. Let's see, you don't
have eggs or bacon soda, both of which are key
ingredients for our cake. You can include that in
your prompts and chat. Gpt will give you a recipe with substitutes
for those things, as well as feedback
on how they will influence the outcome
of the final cake. In this particular
example, we see that the substitutes will likely affect the texture of the cake, will not prevent it
from being tasty. The software also gives
us substitute ingredients that can fill in for our
eggs and bacon soda. Now imagine you're
not great with Excel, but you want to
create a budget for yourself to track your expenses. You can simply ask
Chan GPT to show you how to create the basic
budgets in Microsoft Excel. Very quickly, you
get a seven step process for all you need to do, including column headers, basic formulas, and budget tips. Even stop by conditional
formatting to color code positive and negative differences in the spreadsheet. You can take this
a step further. If you're an advanced
use of Excel, I wanted more complex
budgets can type in, what advanced
features can I add to this budget to increase
its utility to me? And if you scroll through,
you find out there are a lot of great ideas to
level up your budget. You can use micros to
automate repetitive tasks. Conditional formatting,
so you know when an expense goes ay a certain
percentage of your budget. And go seek to determine
the precise amount you need to save each month
to reach a savings goal. Basically, anything you
want to learn to do, you can gain significant
insight with the software. The more precise and
nuanced your question, the greater the AI
capabilities will shine.
14. Information parsing : Information passing involves
using the software to extract information or
knowledge from a piece of text. This is very useful if
you're trying to get specific information
and you don't want to have to read over a whole
article to find it. To put this to test,
I'll go over to Britannica.com copy an
article about lions, paste it in a PT and ask I where lions
reside on the planet. Based on the contents
of the article, I get a very good response, a more detailed one, and a brief summary below
that lets us know that lines primarily inhabit the regions
of Sub Saharan Africa. The small population living in India's Ga National Park,
or how you pronounced that. We can also follow up
with the question about what conclusions you can
draw about lines from where they resigned and
redo the answer to get a better understanding of the historical range and
present ecological challenges. By the way, the free version of Chat GPT caps how many
words you can put into a command at 3,000 But if you
upgrade to Chat GPT four, you can include as many as
25,000 words per command. With information parsing, we can extract valuable
pieces of information from a large body
of text without having to read through
it line by line.
15. Coding and troubleshooting: In my experience, GPT
does a great job of writing code and deciphering
errors in said code. So we might as well
put that to the test. In this video, I'll
ask you to write me a Java script that returns hello boob when
it's morning time. Good afternoon boob
in the afternoon, and good evening boob at night. This is what we get. And as
I look through this code, I can see it's
created the boundary for morning as five to 11, afternoon as 12 to
five and night as anything after 06:00 P.M. which I think is
pretty reasonable. The function get
greeting is accurate for this command and the text strings are all what
you would expect. I'm no expert in programming, but this result looks pretty good to me for our
second example, our Asha GPT, to write us a C sharp method for creating a random password. And
this is what we get. The function called generates random password needs a number, which we call length, to know how long you want
your password to be. It looks at a bunch
of different letters and numbers, like big letters, small letters, numbers,
and special symbols, and picks them randomly. The random class is then used to randomly select characters from this pool and create the
password. Moving on to SQL. Let's ask the software
to write a SQL to create a table card
customers with three columns. I'm not specifying
the column names intentionally, just yet. So I can see where Chad
GPT comes up with itself. Click Enter, and voila, we get the perfect syntax. And as you can see,
Chad GPT assigned three column names
that you would expect to find in the
customer's table. Customer ID as our
primary key column, customer name and
E mail address. We can also utilize Chan GPT to create queries for obtaining
or modifying data. For example, I'll ask you to
write a query to retrieve the top six products with the highest total sales
from the product table. When I analyze the results, I can see that Cha GPT
assumed some column names like product ID and product
name, which are reasonable. And it utilized the sum function to calculate total sales before renaming the column to reflect that reality in your
actual database. You could top out the column
names if they are different, but still utilize
the same structure to get the right results. Further down, we can see
that the results are from the box table like we
included in our question. The results are being ordered by total sales in descending order. Meaning from the product to
the highest sales at the top, down to the lowest
at the bottom. Finally, the limit
six clause in the end guarantees that only the top
six results are included. In addition to this, if
you input a piece of code chan GPT can also
help you debug it. In other words, point
out what is wrong. If you take the syntax
we just worked with, add an asterisk after the select clause without
removing the listed columns, and misspell the box
table and click Enter. Even without asking the AI, it will give us a
corrected version of the syntax and point to us precisely the mistakes that we made as I've
highlighted on screen. Now, the more
complicated the code, the harder it becomes
for ChangPD to do this. But for most of your
debuggin needs, you can get great feedback here. I'll do one more example
before we move on, and that is to ask
the software to run a Python script to find the sum of every odd number after one and divided by three. Once I send that command, I get back the Reglan code, but I forgot to add a limit, that is to say the upper
bound for the odd numbers. To correct this, I'll
send new limit for 100 and then ask for the
results. There we go. In one line of code, we
can see that the sum of odd numbers after one up to 100/3 is 1,684 Interestingly
enough, it's an even number. That's it for this video,
we on to the next.
16. Counsel & Advice: One of my favorite
things to do with Cha GBT is asking for
general life advice. And also specific counsel
about particular situations. This can range from ideations
about the job market, to relationship
advice, fitness tips, gramma communication,
and so on and so forth. See may recent college
graduates in need of some advice as I face
this brave world, that is life after school. I might ask AI the following. I'm an American from Texas and I want to pursue a
career in finance. I have a bachelor's
degree in business. And I want to know what
the best path I can go down to achieve success
in my chosen field. In response, we get a brief
description of Texas economy followed by several
potential career paths for our hypothetical Texan. Below those suggestions is
also an explanation of what each field entails
so we can make a more informed decision
about what appeals to us. You've been doing
this entire lesson, you can always introduce follow
up questions like who are the top employers or business graduates in the state of Texas? And better equip yourself as
you traverse the job market. Alternatively, you can ask Cha GPT a more personal question. Maybe your girlfriend
cheated on you with your best friend and your cures as to the best way to
confront her about it. Fortunately, some people
have great friends, family, and or therapists
to go to for help. But perhaps you're less
fortunate and just want some pragmatic advice
on the matter. If you sending back command a GPT gives us some
pretty sound counsel. I think we can all agree
that taking some time to process your emotions,
considering the facts, and setting boundaries for the
both of you going forward, are all things you should do in the aftermath
of such an event. You can also modify the question to better suit your reality. If you're a Christian, you might modify the question to include, as a devout Christian, incorporating Bible verses in the answer and your result
to include just that. Or if you want
something lighthearted, you can ask the software
to give that same advice. In the words of Kevin Hart, the comedian reading through this dephe made
me chuckle a bit. It's oddly entertaining and
therapeutic at the same time. Don't forget, if you want
a different response, you can click the regenerating
button and get something similar but different naturally. This is no replacement
for therapy. But I believe words of
wisdom like this can help you pull yourself out of
a dark place if need be. That's going to be
it for now. I hope you find these
videos beneficial. And with this, you
found knowledge ready to go out and
conquer the world. Thanks for watching and
I'll see in the next one. Bye bye.
17. Summarize the world: If you're like me, I'd like
to get the gist of an article or book without spending
caucus amount of time reading. Well, Cha GPT has
got you covered. There are a few ways
you can do this. First we can copy the
link to an article and paste it into Cha
GPT with a prompt. Summarize this into one line, one paragraph, 200 words
whenever you like read. So let's do that goods. Google typing Italian,
Renaissance wiki. Copy the link for
the Wikipedia page, go back to the AI and write. Summarize this link into 100 words past the link
after hit enter and you get a beautiful
summary of this period of artistic achievement
with very little effort. Maybe instead you
have a book report. I would like an
overview of said book. Without reading
the book in full, you can simply ask GPT to give
you a summary of the book. The more parameters you
put around that request, the more tailored
it will be to you. Let me see here.
How about we get 150 words summary of
the book Oliver Twist, by Charles Dickens,
written by sixth grader. This is what we get and
as I read through it, it resonates as an
accurate summary that a very erudite sixth
grader could have written. Now our juxtapose
that seem prompt. But instead of a sixth grader, we put in an English
professor at Oxford. Instantly from the
first line we see a major difference
highlighting just how powerful the CI is and capturing small differences to deliver
spectacular results. In the sixth grade
version, the vocabulary is simpler and the summary
more surface level. Whereas in the latter example, we have a more nuanced overview with more complex
grammar and structure. You get it by now.
Big difference. Better yet, if you
watch a lot of Youtube, you can even summarize
those videos too. Just copy the link, include
the title and as chat GPT. To summarize it
in a few seconds, I have in front of
me the essence of that video without having
to watch a minutes. If the summary is too short, I can even request
more detail and the software will further
elaborate on its earlier entry. That's all for now. Stay tuned for life hack number
two. Bye bye.
18. Get healthy quick: All right. I know what
you're thinking happen. Chad GPT, help me get healthy. Surely you can eat or exercise on my behalf, you
heard about that. But it certainly can
lay out a plan for you. Perhaps you want to gain a
bit of muscle and loosen fat, you can write a
prompt requesting a detailed weekly exercise plan. We need to gain two pounds
of muscle a month and lose five pounds of fat consisting of exercises you can do at home. Honestly, this is a
pretty solid workout plan with tons of tips on how you
can get the most out of it. You can take this to
the next level by asking Cha GPT to create for you a weekly meal plan to go along with your workouts. You can make this as
specific as you want, including things like
calorie restrictions, what kind of diet you're on, and even foods you may be allergic to in the
click of a button. We have less with
this incredibly intricate meal plan
that have taken you hours potentially
to put together yourself even one step further, we can ask I to create a
shopping list that contains all the ingredients necessary to make the foods
in our meal plan. A GPT does this as well as you could hope,
and as you can see, it even summarizes
the food items by a category to make your
life that much easier. Before I let you go, I
see the best for last. If you're going to
bind and only have a few ingredients at home, you can pump the software
to tell you what you can make with the limited number
of ingredients you have. And without fail, you get a few delicious recipes
that you can try at home.
19. Supertips: If you're like me and enjoy
all that comes with holidays. But I hate the planning chat. Gpt can make your
life much easier. In this regard, simply type in where you plan
on taking your trip, on what aspects of it
you want, plane for you, available flights,
resources to stay in, things to do when you arrive. And much more, the more specific
you follow up questions, the more tailored the holiday
plans will be to you. Moving on, you can ask Chat
GPT for recommendations. This can come in many forms. Say you love the movie Acro Man. You could write a prompt
asking the software for a list of ten
movies like Acro Man. If you want to get more granula, you might add after
the year 2000, that's at least 2 hours long. Similarly, I can ask the AI
for book recommendations, what are the top 20
best selling books in the non fiction genre
over the last ten years? While not perfect, it gives you a great approximation of the hottest books
from that period. Something else I love
to do with a GPT is simplify complex documents
and have it rewritten. In layman's terms, this
is perfect for documents. I have a lot of technical
jargon and are very lengthy, like research papers
and legal contracts, just copy and paste the
text and ask it to make it informal and you will
have a version of that text that's much
easier to digest. Be careful with this.
Naturally you lose some nuance when
things are simplified. So make sure you have
an expert with you, especially if money is involved. If you find yourself struggling
to get satisfied answers, you need to structure
your queries more as if you were interacting
with your fellow human. If you only ask the software basic questions like what
is the color of an apple, you will hardly be extracting
the most of the EI engine. So instead of asking what
the color of an apple is, which is pretty self
evident, you might ask, why do we perceive the
color of an apple as red? And what significance
does that hold, if any? And you'll see that the
response you get is much more elaborate and
frankly, more interesting. At some point, if you
use had GPT enough, you will get a response that is either unsatisfactory
or incorrect. Events like this require
you to pull further by asking for more
detailed explanations, regenerating the response, or wording your
question differently. For example, sometimes if I ask, why do we hear thunder
before we see the lightning, a statement which is factually incorrect for the most part, PT sometimes gives an answer that confirms that
statement in the thesis, but contradicts it
in its conclusion. You can clarify by asking what comes first,
lightning and thunder, and you get a much more
straightforward answer devoid of confusing elements. Before I leave you,
I go one more tip, and that's how you can leverage the software to create
original content. The first thing
we'll do is create a love poem in the
style of William Blake. Reading through this,
I'm very impressed with the rhythm of the stanzas
and the whole poem overall. Next, let's pump for
an Instagram caption for a picture of a
young woman sipping wine in the boats in Florence on a sunny day. This
is what we get. I know that's quite
a lengthy prompt. More importantly, we got
a phenomenal response. I like this so much.
I spent a bit of time regenerating
different results. The bunch, the one
I liked the most was sipping sunshine and savoring the sweet taste of Florence on the Decker
Dreams hashtag. Sunny sips hashtag,
Florence magic hashtag. Your life, that's not enough. You can also do things
like ask Cha GPT to write a hip hop song about hustling
or a joke about flat Earth, or maybe a cover
letter or a job as an investment banker
in Goldman Sachs. The possibilities are
endless with Chad GPT. And hopefully, the tips
I've given you will be the launching pad for
further exploration. That's off for now. Bye bye.
20. Conclusion and project: Congratulations on making it to the end of this
class Exclusion to recognize that while leveraging AI for content
creation is awesome, it should not replace
your inherent creativity. Instead, look at it as a tool to augment your
creative process, improving the quality
of your work, and saving you a great deal
of time in the long run. Your class project
for this one will be to share a screenshot of the single most useful
prompt you were able to create and the results you
got from the AI engine. Feel free to include a brief
description of how you came up with the
idea for the prompt as well as the
effect it has had. When in doubt, we watch
the video on how to craft and effectively get prompts
and you'll be good to go. I'm definitely looking forward
to witnessing the foods of your labor in the project
and resources section. So don't forget to
share a project to inspire your fellow
students and to give me the opportunity to
give you some much in your feedback if you
found value in this course. I extend an enthusiastic
recommendation to check out my other classes, particular my last
one in mid journey. And I, I'm sure you love it. Your feedback helps
me better refine my content and inspire
me to make new classes. So please give me a
review and I look forward to welcoming you
back to future classes. Suffer this one. Bye bye.
