1. Intro: Hello, I'm Nicky Crystal. Work from Home. Mom, Wife and New Yorker. Thanks for joining my class. This class is suitable for everyone. For men, for women, junior level, senior level work from home Parents stay at home parents and students from those new to journaling to season planners. Welcome. This class is bullet generally for busy people. You won't need many materials for this class because journaling is a flexible art. The only materials you will definitely need our notebook. A pencil or an irascible pen and your favorite color markers. But those are optional. Make your projects is colorful or is minimal as you like. At the end of this class, you'll be asked to submit a class project. The class project for this class will be a bullet journal spread showing a calendar or a dated weekly or anything that you may use today. The day Jonah links bullet journaling. Just very flexible and very forgiving. So there no right or wrong answers potion recreation in the class Project gallery so that we may all learn from each other's work 2. Table of Contents and Cover Page: table of contents Cover page. Let's get started by reserving a few pages and are for a table of contents. The table of contents should be added to every journal. It is very important to have one for several reasons. One. It allows you to find things faster in your journal because their corresponding page numbers in the table contents. Two. It is not going to be free and uninhibited about what you place your journal because you know you will always be able to find it. Three. The table of contents creates a book of memories that chronicle of period of your life cover page. Hopefully, you had a table of contents to your table of contents Can give a Donald More structure. For now, let's talk about one of the more artsy parts of your journal, and that is the cover page. Everyone loves a beautiful cover page, especially me to start your cover page. She was a simple thing that would simple shapes. If you are not the most accomplished artists, and I'm certainly not use stencils on a ruler to create someone's in your journal. Here's I have chosen a bubble gum thing for them. I don't think I've ever seen a bubble. Something e couldn't draw school bus and I thought I would do a stationary thing. You'll see the station everything everywhere. September along with fall leaves, taking colors. Those are beautiful designs and I love seeing them, but I can't recreate them. So this gumbo theme is full of simple circles. You can create with the stencil you can see I'm actually using to stencils. They're very helpful. My next tip is to let your cover page be your mood tracker. So you don't have to recreate a design twice If you don't have time, you're busy, right? So you've already created a beautiful cover page than Just use that as your mood tracker and add color to it each day as your mood changes. That's a beautiful way to chronicle your mood. What is the mood tracker some people are asking? Ah, mood tracker is usually a colorful graphic used to depict the journalists mood over a period time. The mood trackers on social media are gorgeous and elaborate and so colorful, But consider this. If you really want to create a mood tracker, they take time. I hope you do want to create one. But one way to save time is just to draw in one place. And that's when your cover page now for you guys. I had to make this presentation colorful, so I drew a gumball mood tracker and ago ball cover page. I did a lot of time by using some circle stencils, so my tips in this first section arms create a cover page. Let that cover page be your mood tracker. And if you do decide to create a cover page, choose a simple thing with simple shapes. I will speed up the video while I finish the cover page. Then we will move on to the monthly calendar. 3. Monthly Calendar Spread: countin tips. Let's start that month. The calendar. Keep him on the couch. Simple, with only one is on the page here have added only one gumball machine. The roots of the space is from notes. Combine functionality and style by making the thing do some work in the commoners Here. I have used 20 gumballs to represent each day, so they're not only gumballs. There also can. You should be simple, but it should also be inviting so that you're drawn to it and you actually want to drown their write notes. There. Be creative there. Sometimes I've seen many calendars on social media there completely blank, and I wonder. Well, maybe you wasn't colorful for them, and they didn't want to return to do any notes or doodling in it. So fun in your balance between function creativity. My tips for your calendar page are one. Keep your monthly calendar simple with only one design to combine functionality and style by making things do so, work in counter finish up the monthly calendar stable belong to the fall semester schedule spread. - Oh , 4. Semester Schedule Spread: fall semester schedule spread. This schedule is a to pay a few of your entire semester, and it is indispensable for students or parents. Were school age Children. It has a lot of lines, vertical lines, a lot of horizontal lines. That's because this can't always broken up in two hours or half hour increments, you can see how varied the schedule. This flexibility can be useful to someone with busier mornings or afternoons. So perhaps you're someone who has busy your morning and you have to chop it up into 30 minutes increments. Or maybe you're someone was a busier afternoon, and then that's where you used 30 minute increments. Otherwise you couldn't use hourly increments as you would in a normal journal, very time increments. To make the schedule work for you, I am using gumball doodles to color code schedule. Once again, I've chosen to make the designs work in the schedule and add a little bit of functionality . I will show you how to use this color code. I will give you two examples. Say you are a student and you haven't Nikon lecture on Mondays on one part of campus. But on Wednesdays, the lectures on the other side of campus, noting that in bold colors can be very helpful, especially for a freshman. You to a big campaign example. Two. So you are a soccer mom, and your son or daughter has practiced at North Fuel on Tuesdays, but it's south feel on Thursday. It could be useful to have this information written down somewhere instead of cramped together with all the other things you have to remember my tips for the semester schedule arms. Use it for a full butte of your entire semester. Two very the time increments to suit your knees. Three color, colder doodles so that they're not only decoration, they can actually do work for you. 5. Mood Tracker and Habit Tracker: mood tracker and have a tracker we talked before about the flu tracker when we created a cover page. I love mood trackers, but they can be teen used to set up. So again, I advise you to combine your roots, Packard, into your cover. Here I have one design on my mood tracker page on one. Decide on my cover page, so I haven't combined them. So you can see here. My Lou tracker is a gumball machine with each gum ball representing my mood on any day. It will be interesting to see that this page looks like at the end of September. If you prefer function over form, try a data driven new tracker and grab for I have created a line graph tracker and I keep it a long time. I have a tracker toe. Learn more about how my habits affect my mood. Perhaps you could do this also and find a correlation between mood and exercise or mood and dehydration. Here I have track six habits, and that leads me to my next tip about having tracking. If you want to be successful, a generally do not track too many habits each month, especially If you are new to journaling, I would advise you to build up the number of habits you track. Otherwise, you're journaling will become just another tour, and you will lose interest in it. Star with three or four habits in a month and then slowly add another habit to track in the next month. My test for the mood tracker and the habit tracker are one combined your mood tracker to your cover page to say time whenever you can. Two. If you prefer function over form, try a data driven mood tracker. Three. Don't try to track too many habits each month. I will finish the Happy Tracker spread and the Mood Tracker spread, and then we will move on to the weekly spread. 6. Weekly Spread Template Productivity: four Weekly spreads from one productivity spread quickly spread are important for saying organized effort. I've created a productivity spread, and it is the very best one I found. I actually would like to create a separate class for this bread only because it's so great . It's very minimal, but it does the job. It has a brainstorming section that allows you to perjure ideas introduced for the entire week. It has a section for the days of the week so you can allocate your your task across the week said no particular day over schedule. Finally, there's a no section on the right type of spreads to remember. What happened during this section is invaluable for meeting clients, university lectures for so many other things. For example, if you have a client meeting, what was the outcome? Whose job is to follow up? Will you remember to follow up? If you have a meeting with your professor or you have a lecture? Well, what do your perfecter saying? Classic office hours next week? It's very important that a weekly spread contained a section toe add note. Now I'll show you how easy this is to set up for busy channelers, and I will show you how you can make four different weekly spreads from this one template 7. Two Weekly Spreads over Two Pages: two weeklies over to pain. Now that we have our productivity spread templates, let's modify it to create two weeklies over two pages. This is a productivity template that we set up eight lines, creating 10 sections. Now let's act more lines on one side and three on the other. Now we have 16 square 16 square means that we have one square for each day of the week for two weeks, and we also have a section for notes. Here I will darken up the line for you so you can see organize a simple way were at the dates way have dates on the second side, and there's a note section very flexible, very hoping for people who need to see their two DUIs two weeks at a time. Some things are not completed in just one week, and then they stretch over into the next week. And so there is our minimal spread. You can keep it just like this, or you can go one step further at your theme at color, at whatever you like to make this bread suit your personality here. I'm adding circle gumballs. I'm gonna pull in the shapes using a stencil and then you're gonna see like magic. How and color to this spread. This is very gratifying. Once I have the colors filled in, I always go back with black take to make the colors pop. Here is our finish. Two weeklies over two pages. Let's move on to the horizontal weekly. 8. Horizontal Weekly Spread: the horizontal weekly stars with productivity template as before way have our eight lines that created section. Now take your pencil and look at the lovely dream to create. This time we're gonna add one more line horizontal line on the left side page and they work on a brace a line to make this a horizontal spread. So take your pencil, go down side at three more horizontal lines and they were gonna erase the vertical line, as you see me doing here. Now let's do it on the other side. So now you've taken that template and you've created four sections on each page for horizontal weekly spread. How you think now to make it darker, easier for you to see. Well, you get out your dates, you can add color. You can pat shapes even at whatever you want. At this point. Templates. There's a lot of space here to give. Maximize the space. You can feel the page. I will finish this spread. Then we will move on to the vertical weeklies 9. Vertical Weekly Spread: the vertical weekly, the last weekly spread. I want to show you the article. This bird is for people who prefer more space vertically directed horizontally. But like the others, it starts with the productivity's. Here is a productivity template that we've been using to create our spreads. We always split the page on the middle at three lines on the right side and then three lines on the left side for a total 10 sections. Now, to adapt this, we're gonna add one more thoughtful in the middle and then breaks to horizontal lines to create four vertical sections. Way will repeat the process on the next page. Now we have eight sections, one section for each day of the week and a section for notes to do brainstorms musings about the week ahead. Anything at all we want to, right? It's very flexible and very quick and very easy to set up. I will darken up these loans for you so that you can see the spread better. Then I will add some color and some shapes to the spread. Finally, I will add the dates to the spread towards the end. I added the last day of September to this spread, there was lots of space to do show. I'll add shapes, you know, add some color to this friend thing way at a gumball machine to one side for a little whimsy and a little color. I will stop talking about the video, speaks up and then we'll come back and we'll wrap up the class. Oh! 10. Review and Flip Through: group. In this class, you have learned many journaling shortcuts to make creative, easier. Communities allow you to both quickly through your job. I don't know what you want to know. That not taking too much just a wonderful life. Maybe you're a writer who wants to jot down your ideas. Maybe you're someone who wants to introduce their screen time and want to go back next paper. Whatever there. I do hope you table of contents cover page to the calendar schedules through our tractors and weeklies are still more ways for you. For how to make Charlie Moore enjoy. So share your discoveries clean post spread one of the models in the class. So we have all learned from each other. You can find me in the comments section and on social media. Thank you. And I will see you in the next class.
