About This Class

Welcome to our transformative course, where I will reveal the secrets to turbocharging your editing skills and making you a lightning-fast editor!

In this class, we have two game-changing techniques at the core of our method: the "Inverse Timeline" and "Shortcuts."

The "Inverse Timeline" approach is a game-changer for editing efficiency. Traditionally, when editing, we start from the beginning of the footage and painstakingly delete mistakes one by one until we reach the desired section. However, with our method, you'll learn to edit from the end to the beginning. This allows you to quickly locate the perfect takes and eliminate all mistakes in one efficient sweep. Prepare to master the art of the "Inverse Timeline" and revolutionize your editing process.

The second powerhouse in our editing arsenal is the use of "Shortcuts." While default shortcuts in Premiere Pro can be scattered all over the keyboard and may require complex key combinations, we have developed a streamlined system. Our goal is to place all major shortcuts conveniently under your left hand. This means no more looking down or stretching your hand across the keyboard, ensuring you can seamlessly navigate through your edit with utmost speed and precision.

By the end of this course, you'll have mastered the art of the "Inverse Timeline" and become a shortcut wizard, propelling your editing abilities to new heights. Say goodbye to time wasted and inefficient editing techniques, and get ready to dive into our lessons to unlock the true potential of your editing prowess. Let's embark on this journey together!

1. Intro : Hello friends, some assumption merely, I have been more than five years editing videos with Adobe Premiere. And over these years, I have developed a new way to edit videos faster when, when, when that happened it. In this class, I'll teach you the secrets that you make very fast with editing. First, we learned the basics thing that you need to know, like eat it with full-screen timeline and how to deal with inverse timeline. And then we learn the major shortcuts that you need and put all of them to your left-hand. All of this would dramatically increase your productivity and you'll not waste time and you'll be proud with yourself. So if you are ready to learn, Let's move to the lessons. 2. Customize Your Hot Keys, zoom in,out, ripple delete : First, we need to begin, link out shortcuts, Adventists, and other important information or use the keyboard. That mean if you use QWERTY keyboard, you need to replace the shortcut that set to a with q and q with a and z, with w. In this lesson, we learn for powerful shortcuts. But if you don't know where you can change your shortcuts, you can come here to Edit and go down to keyboard shortcuts. And from this location, you can actually type in whatever you want. If I want to type in ripple delete, you can see ripple delete comes right up and you're just click over here. And you can add whatever keys that you want to these shortcuts. So let's quickly go through my favorite shortcuts, but I have to sign it for my left hand will start with the keys a and z. So as you can see here, if I type in, zoom out, you can see that I have assigned it to the a t. Then if I go to zoom in, I have that assign it to the Z key. Okay, what that allows you to do if you have edited a really long project, you know that these timeline go so big. And what you're going to do is click on the scroll and slide this back and forth. It's something that really will slow you down in the long run. So being that we zoom in and out on our timeline all the time, we wanted to move that to the a and Z keys so that we can quickly zoom in and out as we're editing. Next one is so important one for unaffected edit its frame and they're coarser. I learned that recently and it's facilitate my editing. Okay, let's back to the shortcuts window. And if I type in frame in their cursor, you can see this I have associated to the E key. What does it do? It means wherever your mouse is, just tap that key and it makes it full screen. Super handy. When you've got like really complicated beans, it hard to search and look through them. All you need. It. Just stop the Iike, go full screen and tap it again, goes back. Next shortcut. It is the select tool. We leave it as is senior to air key. We use the Select tool for selecting the footage on the timeline where the video or audio next shortcut is ripple delete is one of the most useful tools and we have set it to the T key. Let me show you what ripple delete does. If I have a few clips right here, and I highlight this, and I hit Delete. What is going to do is just delete out this section. Okay, let's end all that. Highlight it again. And now I'm going to hit T. So as you see, not only does it delete the clip, but it also delete the space that leap took up. Normally, you would have to highlight it, right-click and then go to ripple delete. Again. It doesn't take that long to do that, but over time, this will save you so much time. 3. Customize Your Hot Keys, ripple trim previews , add edit, ripple trim next edit: In the first lesson, we set for keys next to each other. We have a, z, E, all of them in there, our left hand. Next we move to the queue as d, f, and g, and set them to other important shortcuts. First, we have ripple trim previews. We set it to the Q key, V ripple trim Previous DVT, all the footage between the previous cut and the position of cure. So let's see how it's work. We have here two cases here. First, when you don't have gut in your footage, the ripple trim, delete all the footage before the crystal. The second case, if your footage have guts, the ripple trim previous work like this, it delete all the footage between the cursor and the closest cat previously. Next shortcut is added. We set it to skew. This shortcut, cut the video onto part at the position of the cursor in the timeline. Let's see how it works. Here we have our footage. It don't have any cut. Let's say we want to cut here for add image. We can do this with this shortcut by heat S. As you see, it cut the place where accused of goods sold. Let's do that one more time. Here. Hit Done. Next, shortcut, ripple trim. Next, we set it to the D key. It's the inverse of the ripple trim previews it, delete the footage after the cursor position. Let's see how it work again. Here we have two cases. If the video not have any cut, when we click to D key, it delete all the footage after the Pucelle. But when we have like this more than cut in voltage and our cursor occurs here. When we click to D key, it delete the footage between the cursor and the next closest cat. After that we have shuttle, right? We set it to f key. As you're editing especially long video that you want to get through quickly, you're going to want to speed up the video. You don't want to watch it in real time. If I start playing and click f, hello. Today I'm going to talk to you about one of the most helpful concept of time. You can see it start normally and as I click of time, and we call it to be by law principle, the division of this rule is 80% of its speed faster forwarding. If I click one more examples, speed-up, but we can't understand it easy. If you want to raise it, you just posit by click the space bar. Let's go back to keyboard shortcuts and we'll type in track select tool. We have this set to G key, almost of a new editor waste time because they're not using these tools. Let's say we had 2.5 hours of footage in this timeline. And I'm having to zoom out. Now. It gets to the point where I have so much footage, stock it on top of each other. And it goes so long. Let's say that these clips right here, I want to add something in-between them. So I would highlight these and move it over. But let's say they're two hours of footage. But these clips, what I did in the past was I would zoom way out and I would highlight the whole thing. And then I would zoom back in. And then I would move it over, and then I would pass in what I want. And then I zoom back out and highlight it again. Well, there is much easier way to do that. And that is the track select tool. So now if I hit G and click it here, automatically grab everything to the right here. Another example, all I have to do is click and drag it to grubs, every single thing to the right of whatever I'm clicking on. 4. Customize Your Hot Keys, shuffling: Next shortcut, shuffling. It's really good for big stacks of images. Here we have a whole bunch of images and always we need somebody shuffling to be done. In this case, we've got ten photo of guts next to each other. Usually when you want to make shuffling, you do this. Let's say you want to move this image from here to here. First, you need to move these images a little bit and go to this image and push it along into this new place. And then select all of these images and move all of them back. Oh, this very, very slow. Imagine with me that you do this a bunch of times. It waste your time. What is the solution? I sound it's easy. My friend, Let's undo this C with me. First hold down Control key and then pushes this image along and drop it here. Done, it's done. Let's try it again with this image control key. Pushes it and drop it here. But don't click to the image before you hold the control key. Why? Because if you do that, this, what will happen when you click to the image first and then hold the Control key and then move to hear it answered your image, a place that you want. But it leaves his place empty and you need to move all of these images back. Don't do that. Like I said, hold Control key first and then click to the image that you want to move it. Let's go to the next lesson. 5. How to make sure that you choose the right take with inverse timeline: What is the inverse timeline? The short answer is the video from the end to the beginning. Let me explain. When you record your video, you make a lot of mistakes in the same paragraphs or sentences, just stick with me. And in some next and in some short next lessons. And in South. And in the final cut is the right. In some short next lessons, you will see how easy it when you start to edit your video, you do this. You start to edit from the beginning to the end and delete all the mistakes that you find until you find the right cuts. Our method is go to the right place directly from the beginning and then delete all the mistakes in one go. Let's see how work this. First, import all your footage to here. Then go to the end and start your editing. First step is find the right of the recent paragraph. And in some, in some short next lessons, you will see how. And in some shortening. When you find it may cut here and then find all the mistakes related to the first sentence of the paragraph. And in some, it's not hard, like it looks now. Just stick with me. And when you find it, delete all of them, and repeat this process until you've finished your video. This method takes time, forget use it. My advice for you, products, a lot of videos with this method. 6. Let's practice what we learn : In this video, you'll see how I edit my video with inverse timeline and shortcuts. That'll be achievement. Thank you for watching and see you in the next video. Thank you for watching and see you. You are going to be probably never be. Remember. If there is no deadline, your goal will be probably. Remember. Remember, it's still better than nothing. I don't remember if there is none at all. Remember. Now whether we are the nine is too short or too far. It's still better than no, they don't remember whether we are now. Now. Now what I love data now. But it's something people do when they first hear about it. Now. But it's something that people do when they first hear. Obvious, but if you don't say it, but the MS is something we did. Don't give yourself. Two days. Don't give up. Don't give yourself. Don't take yourself too. Don't get wholesale of two days to finish it. Don't care. If you know something can be completed in a day. Don't need to save today is for if you know. The Parkinson's Law is important too, because you're about it from the management perspective. We put the Perkins, Perkins. Perkins. We make a mistake of thinking that the more time we computed, the better the result when we make the mistake. We make we make the listener you have to complete the whole. The more you completed in the sky. The length, the longer it will take you to finish it. And the list is actually essentially, essentially the model you have to copy something. Essentially is actually essentially you get to keep all the things that are important for you and focusing your work. You don't begin, you don't watch video on YouTube for your work. Do you finished your Gutenberg? I'm focusing your work. You're not beginning. I tell you, you get to skip all that important for you and focusing your work. You don't begin. I tell you that happen, that will happen. But if you only had 48 hours for them to work, how that happened? That happened with the tablet. You when this happened, you understand that good work. When that happened, right? When that happens, you can play the game or sleep, hanging out with friends or watch YouTube videos. In fact, you'll progress to meet. The deadline arrives when you think like gambling. Because you think you have time. It's easy. It's like good, like big game. Or watch YouTube videos. In fact, your procrastinate until the deadline. The game. Play, like play. Like gameplay, like play games. Because this usually take from you ten hours following it, but you took six day. What is the evidence? From this? Usually the in-house coordinator, but this bloated and uploading alternate and all that, you need to create a good item or this usually take from this or this applauding alternate there all that you need to create a good research and write your script and upload your time. And I didn't even change your life. Let's say you want to go for it. I didn't even change your life. Let's say you want to make videos for new trial on Monday and today is Tuesday. Now, you know that you need to make an expansive expands expands to be once it's quite good. Expense to be exposed to the low point. But it is low. You can change your life. Let's say you want to make easy for your channel on YouTube. It's Monday and today is Tuesday. Now, you know that you need to make research and writing a script and uploading alternate and all that. You need to create a good title for this. Usually they commute then allows for the later but but YouTube date for what is it happening? It's easy because you think that there you have done anything like big game or sleep, or watch YouTube videos. In fact, you'll procrastinate until the deadline, right? When you understand that you need what all the nitrogen is you want that happened. What happened? You got your work, and that's what happened, and you're done. But if that's what happened and you're done. But that happened. And what happened. And Judah. Judah. But if you only had 48 hours for work, how believing behavior, you get to keep all that important for you and focusing your work. You don't begin, you don't watch video on that for your work. To finish, you are essentially the model. You have to complete something. They don't have the vision. And the less time you have, the more your completed in the proposal. The proposal time, we make a mistake of thinking that the more time we give it, the better the results will be. The end result will be, the Perkins is always wanted to be cautious about it from an emotional perspective. If you know something can be computed in a day, don't get yourself today's deficient, but but yeah, this is life as well. You know, something we take a week to complete. Don't say the name for tomorrow. This may sound obvious, but it's something people do when they first year. Now. Feel better then do the dipole. Remember, if there is no deadline, you will go and will be probably never be achievable. Thank you for watching and see you in the next video. 7. Class project : Before we move to the first lesson of shortcuts, I want from you in the end of this class to change your shortcuts to the new one and to compare your edit before and after. Set your counter time for the two edits and see how much time. Take everyone after that. Take a picture to the counter time for everyone, and share with us both of them at the project section of this class, I hope you'll enjoy this class. Let's begin. 8. Final advice : You are so special because you get here, this mostly mean that you complete this class. Congratulations, I hope that this class be useful in your editing and I hope you apply this in your life. When you start thing, don't lift it into you finish it. With this mindset, you'll be more smarter and more productive. Thank you. Thank you for choosing our class and see you in the rest of my glasses. Goodbye.
