1. Introduction: I guess, have you thought about animating our characters or illustrations? I I'm sorry. I'm an animator and motion designer coming up. In this class. I'll walk you through the entire process of animating a character or an illustration. In After Effects. In this new age of social media, it's easier to connect with the world using a record. And if you are able to animate them, Linda opportunities and the possibilities are endless. With animation, you'll be able to bring your characters to life and that you will be able to reach out to know people. And you'll be able to inspire more atoms. That does USA. When I actually started my animation career, almost six years back, I thought, okay, animation will be too difficult to learn and a lot of processing more. And it'll be too difficult to produce a really good output that when they actually started using After Effects. I learned that's not the case. And anyone can actually use Leland and emission and produce really good output with this class, I want to show you guys and inspire us to learn and create such really good outputs and animations. So if you are ready, we will get actually still get started with selecting an iPod and planning out the animation process. After that, we'll use Photoshop in order to separate elements for the animation. And then we'll use After Effects in order to produce the final output. After that, we'll use Photoshop in order to convert that video clip into it just so you can actually easily share with your friends. And you can actually share with your community in social media. So if you're ready, let's get started. And I'll see you guys in the next video. 2. Class project: For the class project, I want you to select one of your favorite illustrations and create an eye-catching, interesting animation for ten seconds. So in this class we will be actually going more for me to topics like the rep effect when the defect and the puppet pin tool. And finally, we'll be using some simple expressions for their emissions. And each of these topics, we'll have a separate, separate illustrations and we will be practicing each of them separately. And finally, campaigning all these effects will be making a final full length illustrated our animation output. So for the class project, you can actually follow the same. You can actually, if you want, you can actually stick with the final illustration and create an animation including all these topics. Or you can actually select one of these topics. And they can actually create an animation with that particular effect alone. After that amongst you get the hang of it and then you can move to the next one. And finally, you can make the final illustration, campaigning all the major topics. And I strongly recommend you to download all the assets and project files attached in this with this lesson. So you can get a practice before you start animating a role in illustrations. And while doing the practice, you don't have to follow the same things I'm actually teaching in this lesson. We can actually make something on your own then. So that way you'll be able to learn and practice in a different way and you'll get a unique output for yourself. And make sure to share your final projects in the community and with your friends and family. So you'll get a really good feedback. So we can actually improve upon the feedback. And finally, you'll be able to make a really good unlimited output. So all Demisto, all of you. I'll see you guys in the next lesson. 3. Planning and preparing the artwork: So in the last lesson we went over what is our class projects and on. So in this lesson we are actually going to learn how to plan or an emission and how to make sure everything is ready before we are actually jumping into aftereffects. So here you can see I have a like in the previous lesson I told we will be having a few different artwork for each of the topics. And these tiger illustration is our final illustration. And How 14 the bend it effect. And one for the puppet pin tool, and one for the wave ripe, perfect. And in Photoshop, we how to make sure all of the things we want to animate RNA separate layer. For example, here for this particular artwork, I have the water layer in a separate layer. So I can actually animate the water individually, same like that. I have each of these tentacles. They are actually in a separate layer, so I can actually animate them separately. And that'll make it much easier for us to handle than emission in after effects. And the same goes for the rest of the illustrations also. Here are, the leaves are actually in two different groups. And the window and the background are actually in a single group because they are actually not going to animate. We are going to be still images. So like I said, all of these things you want to be animated should be in a separate layer. So the camphor layer also it's same. No players and the light. And after that, each of these flames are actually in a separate layer. So we can actually make some random and emissions. And for the final illustration also, and the same goes, each of these leaves, everything is actually in a separate layer. And, uh, one more thing. Well, creating our illustration, make sure, for example, this particular layer. And if I actually solo it, you can see it's actually cutting off at the edge. But even after that, the illustration is actually extending outside the border. Also. The reason is that when we are actually animating it, we don't want there to be a cut when they adjust and the inner kind of weird shapes or anything like that. So to avoid that and make sure that all of these things are actually a near to the border and it's actually extending beyond that particular edge. So it'll be much easier for you to animate. So doing all this planning beforehand will help you with the perfect output and you don't have to worry about kind of things when you are actually start animating. So once you are actually prepared all that, you can actually save them in a few different ways. One nice, actually, you can actually save it as a Photoshop file. And you'll be able to retain older layers in their individual layer early. And you can actually export them as PNG. In the latest version of Photoshop, there is an option called I export the leaves to files. And you can actually use this particular option in order to export each of these layers as a separate image. And you can actually clean boat that images into After Effects and you will be able to animate them. So. 4. Introduction to After effects: Hi guys. So in the previous lesson, we actually went over what our class projects will be. So in this lesson, before we start animating your illustration, Let's have a brief introduction on After Effects. So it'll be much easier for you to get familiar with the user interface and start animating or illustrations. So if you're ready, let's get started and I'll see you in the lesson. So once you open After Effects, you'll get them in no, like this, for me know, are there itself you will be able to open or create a new project. And what national projects you, how recently worked on that. They will be showing up here also. So to make sure that it's actually the default workspace, you can actually enable default the upper here in the top. So both yours and my aftereffects will be the interface. We'll be looking the same. Once that is done, I can actually, there are menu at the top and there are some tools here also. So next, we can import some illustrations. There is actually two way we can actually import on illustration or any kind of elements into aftereffects. One is you can actually go into file and you can go to Import, and you can actually select a file from here. So once that is done, you just talked TO locate your file. And you can actually double-click. And once you double-click, you'll get a window like this, especially for Photoshop and illustration, illustrated files. You'll get a window like this. And from top you how to make sure you are selecting composition because we want all of our layers to be kept the same and we ought to maintain their size, all that. So we have to make sure its composition. And the second option is we have to select the editable layer styles. So that way we will get to each of these layers as an individual. Otherwise all of them will be merged into a single image and we don't want that. So once that is done, you can actually press Okay, and your illustration will be important. The second way is you can actually, in the project window itself, you'll be able to double-click. And after that are the rest of the things you can actually follow, same as before. And once that is done, you can actually lagger your illustration to the composition window. And based on the illustration on position will be created. And you'll be able to animate the next. After that, once you actually important illustration I composition will be, It's like a group Ali, inside that group, all of the, if you double-click and open, all of our layers will be there with their own names and their own properties. And if you select a particular layer and you can see a arrow towards the left, and if you expand it, you will get some of the basic properties for that particular illustration. Like if I solo it, you'll be able to see it much more clearly. One is anchor point. The anchor point it will be for a default or illustration, it'll always be, always been this end up. So in order to animate anything particular, we can actually move them using this anchor point option. And the second one is position. We can actually animate the position in x and y-axis. And then we can actually scale just like position. We can actually animate scale or so. Then we can animate the rotation. And the rotation will be based on where the anchor point is actually located. So that's where we'll be using anchor point. So we'll be able to rotate or things based on how we want them to be rotated. After that, we can actually adjust the opacity for our layers visible it so in after effects, just like I said, at the top, you'll be able to see some tools. One is our home window. So if you click on the Home window, the window will be opening. From there, you can actually open any of your existing projects and log files and all. And then we have the hand tool so we can actually move your composition. And then zoom tool. You can actually zoom in, zoom out using on the top and control personal grooming and control minus. So mod. After that we have Rotate tool. We can actually rotate objects using this tool. And then you how anchor point move. So you can actually move the anchor point. Then we have a Shape tool. There will be able to create the shapes in After Effects. So we have some basic shapes like ellipse, rectangle and on. So once you select a particular shape, you can actually click and drop. And you can actually create any shape you want. The basic way after fixes work is we can actually import the illustrations or any kind of video and other kinds of elements and not. And we will be adding keyframes in order to and emit them. So same way we can actually create a URL here also. So for example, if I wanted to make a symbol and emission of this ellipse moving, you can actually create an ellipse. And in the shape layer, you can actually go to the transform properties and the frame here you can actually animate any of these properties using the stopwatch icon next to them. For example, if I click on the position stopwatch, a keyframe will be created at the bear. You're actually selected, for example, at the zeros 0 frames here. And I can actually move to a particular duration. Again, move to two seconds. And I can actually after that, I can click on this particular object and again move it. So while I'm moving it, new key will be automatically created. And between the keyframes, the computer will automatically create a into pollution. And that's basically how the animation works in after fix, just like any other animation software. So just like position, you're going to actually animate anything. You just have to enable the keyframes. For example, I create a keyframe for the scale value. And I can move to two seconds and I can actually change the scale value. So it will be gradually changing the position and scale at the same time. So we will be using the same process and method in order to animate or illustration, but with the extra effects. And we'll be animating them individually. So once you are actually completed all that, you can actually go to the File menu and you can save it. And you can just name it whatever you want. For example, here I named it as tiger illustration, and I can just save it, I guess. So we just completed our first lesson, Introduction to After Effects. So in the next lesson, we are actually going to learn about how to use a waiver up effect in order to animate our illustrations. 5. Wave warp effect: I guess so in this lesson, we are actually going to learn how to use your app effect in order to animate or illustrations. So if you're ready, let's get started. So here we are actually going to use this effect in order to apply for this MOOC effect and the rest of the flames or so. So there is two different ways you can actually access this particular effect. One is actually through the effects and presets panel, which can be located in the Window menu. Here you can able to select Effects and Presets panel. The second way is actually once you make sure you're actually selected the right layer, you can go to the Effects panel and another disorder menu. You'll be able to locate it at the bottom. So once you located the effect, you can actually click on it in order to apply the effect to the selected layer. So in order to make it much more easier, you can actually solo the layer by clicking the Solo button. And after that, you'll be able to focus much more on that particular layer alone and you'll be able to improve their mission. So here, this entire composition is actually 10 seconds long. So in order to avoid looking at the entire animation, we will be actually a shortened that composition. So I'll just move to a 1 second work area, start to move it. You can press B on the keyboard, and you can actually move to the third, three seconds margin. After that, I can press Enter on the keyboard in order to move the end of the work area. So this entire two seconds we are actually going to focus. So once you apply the wave warp effect, it's actually going to add an animation default and emission to that particular layer. The next thing we ought to focus on is the direction of the view. We can actually change the direction towards the top. In fact, we can actually put the direction to be 0. So it's actually at the 90 degree margin and it's actually perfectly straight. So the next thing is, once you make sure the direction of the babies actually perfectly set. The next thing is you can actually adjust the wave height as well as with if you are just, IT can actually change the height. In this case, you can actually change the height of the left to right since we changed the direction. So we can actually give me a value that is applicable for you. For now, I'll just maybe stick with maybe six or something. And we have to change the width also in order to make it much more realistic. So I will make the value somewhere around 150 maybe. So once that is done, I can actually press Spacebar on the keyboard in order to see a preview. And if you are happy with the value for these two options are, and then you can actually move to the next part. So the next thing is I can actually adjust the wave speed. So in this case, maybe I will change the speed to maybe 0.5. So there is a slight movement and it's actually adding much more life to the smoke illustration. So once that is done, then you can actually change the phase. So now you can see it's actually looping and it's actually looking nice. So once that is done, I can actually copy vista effect and it can actually start up playing to the rest of the layers. And, uh, once that is done, you can actually change a slight variation in these values in order to make the animation much more random. For example, this same smoke effect, I'm going to apply it to the mean lame layer. So you can actually solo that layer and you can actually just press control V in order to apply the effect. So if I play it right now, you can see the same effect actually is been applied. So for example, I can just change the speed to maybe 0.7. So the flame is actually much smaller, faster than the smoke itself. So after that, I can see in the phase. So once you are happy with whatever result you are actually coming up with, then you can actually move to the next one. Once that is done, to make it much more a live life like a realistic, I can actually animate the position of these layers or so. And we can go to position value by pressing P on the keyboard. And you can actually click and enabled. So like I said before, you can actually animate almost all the properties for a multiple layers at the same time. So after that, I can move to maybe two seconds margin. And at this point, I'll just select each of these layers individually. And I can make random movements for each of them. So that's it. I just meet some random movements for each of the layers. And after that they can actually go back to the third resequencing margin. And you can actually copy pistol keyframe from the 1 second. So it will have a perfect looping. So once you actually finally is the animation, now you can actually check it out how the result is actually. So now we can see you come before along with the adding that position keyframes. I can actually see the animation is actually much more lively and you'll be able to see some mediation. And it's actually much more realistic. So now we can see our final animation is actually looking really nice along with the position animation. And it's actually looking really perfect. That was fun, great. So in the next lesson, we're actually going to learn our next topic, which is CEC Wendy defect. 6. CC bend it effect: I guess I hope that was fun. So we just learned how to use waiver app effect in order to animate our illustrations. So in our next lesson, we're actually going to learn how to use our bend it effect in order to animate things like leaf and that kind of things. So if you're ready, let's get started. Hi guys. Welcome back. So let's see how we can actually use CC bend it effect in order to animating things simple as a leaf. So in After Effects, we can actually do these kind of animation in really fast. So we are actually going to see how we can use this particular effect in order to achieve such a result. So here I have older parts separated into different layers. So I'll select the leaf after that. Or you can actually go to Effects panel. And under the sort menu, you'll be able to find CC bend it effect. Once you click on it, the effect will be applied and you'll be able to find the effects under effects control panel. Once you applied the effect, you can see a few of few part of her artwork is actually missing. The reason is CC bend it effect actually work with the two different points, a start point and an endpoint. And you how to properly define these points. Then early, you'll be able to animate any artwork properly. So if I start knowing one of the point, you can see the part of the artwork is actually getting visible. And at the effects control panel, you'll be able to find which point is actually being moved since the value is actually changing. So right now I'm moving the start point. So I'll move it and I'll align it properly. The same goes for the endpoint. I'll align it a bot, the leaf, and the start point is actually below the leaf. Once that is done, I can actually manipulate the bend value in the effects control panel in order to start creating an animation. So at 0 seconds, I actually crop the entire composition into two seconds. So at 0 frames, I'll just give you a value of minus ten. So now, in order to make sure that all the keyframes are visible, you can press U on the keyboard and all the keyframes will be visible. And after that again, initially more 21 seconds. And then here I'll give you a value of 10. So it'll be animating to the opposite side. And I'll move it to two seconds. And I can actually copy paste of frame from the 0 frames. And now if I actually play it, you can see the animation is actually playing properly and it's actually looping properly also. So once that is done, I can actually simply copy paste the effects to the next layer. And you can make sure that the points are actually aligned properly so the animation will be repeated. And the same way we can actually copy paste that particular effect to any layer. And since we already created our animation, the key-frame also will be copied. So we don't have to recreate the animation again. So we just simply need to know the point, start and end point are actually located in the right place. So I hope you guys understood how to use CC bend it effect. So in the next lesson we'll be going over how to use op-ed been told in order to create a complex animations or not. So I'll see you guys in the next lesson. I guess. I hope that as we just learned how to use Mendeley defect in order to animate illustrations. So in the next lesson, we're actually going to learn how to use Puppet Pin tool in order to animate a little bit of complex illustrations. 7. Puppet pin tool: So in this lesson, we're actually going to learn how to use Puppet Pin tool in order to animate a little bit of complex illustrations of where we are actually getting a lot of cows, that kind of things. And even though op-ed windowless more are used to for complex animations, we can actually use it for a much simpler and emission also, I guess we'll come back. So next lesson is how to use Puppet Pin tool in order to create an animations. This tool actually used for creating complex animation and that kind of things that we can actually use this tool in order to create any kind of animation snowed just are we how to use only these four complex animation? For example, here I have older parts separated in layers. I'll just isolate one of these layer. And here you can locate the tool at the top along with the rest of the tools like Move tool and told and assume rotation, rotate tool and all of that. From here you'll be able to find the op-ed been don't. And you can simply click and hold on it and you'll be able to find the rest of the tools actually available with the puppet pin tool. And you can see the first one is position. Then we have starts bend advanced tool and all that. So here we'll be using Puppet or don't store. So we can actually able to animate a multiple properties like rotate, scale, position all of them at the same time. So once you open the tool and make sure that our right layer is selected, you can actually click in order to add a point. So once you add the point, you will be able to find there is already keyframes created at the selected frame for a position. Then we have scale. You'll be able to scale the point, and then you'll be able to rotate it also. So once that is done, we can actually create a second. And you can actually create as many points as you want, but make sure only, you're only creating enough points. So other ways, too many points, you will not be able to manage all of them properly and you'll end up creating a too heavy file and you will not be able to see a real-time feedback and it'll be much difficult for in order to create a proper animation. So once you create a key for that, and you can actually define a first position for your artwork, how you want it to be. For example, I just move it and create a position. And after that you can actually notice certain point here. I'm moving to 1 second and I'm actually moving it and slightly rotating and creating a second position for our art. Ok. Once that is done now I can see an interpolation animation is actually created between these two keyframes. Then you can move to the next position. And if you want it to be looped, you can actually copy paste from the 0 frames keyframe. Or you can actually create a custom animation at this point. And I can actually define a new position and a rotation for that. Ok? So then you will not be having a lake. Always, they're repeated animation the further entire composition. So only thing you have to do with make sure that the FASTA keyframe at 0 frames and the last two keyframes at that intersection would be the same. So you will be having a proper loop in between. You can actually create a custom animation and that way you'll be able to create something interesting. So once you created an animation like this, you can actually repeat the same process for the rest of the layers. And so you'll be able to create something interest. So once I actually go through the rest of the layers and created an emission for all of them. Then I'll come back and we'll see how the and emission you stand out. I guess tRNA actually animator all of the artwork and you can see it's actually any meeting. At this point, I haven't actually added a looped animation. So that's why there is a cut at the end. So when we are actually creating a full length animation that point, I can actually create a loop animation. So here I actually use the same technique in order to animate the, the layers. So I hope you guys understood the use of this puppet pin tool. We can actually create a really complex animation using this effect. And in the next lesson, we are actually going to learn how to use some simple expressions in order to create a maker and emission process. Much more easier. So I'll see you guys in the next lesson. I guess, saw we just learned how to use Puppet Pin tool in order to animate or illustrations. So in the next lesson, we are actually going to learn how to use expressions to make our animation process much more simpler. And how we can actually create animations using simple expressions. So if you're ready, I'll see you in the next slide. 8. Expressions for animation: Hi guys. So in this lesson, we're actually going to learn how to use expressions in order to simplify our animation process. So it'll be much easier for us to focus on important elements and we can actually manually animator InMail. We can actually use expressions in order to animate symbol things. So in this lesson we're actually going to learn two different or beginner expressions. Oneness loopOut expression, the second oneness wiggle expression. So if you're ready, let's get started. Hi guys. Welcome back. So loopOut expression we can actually use for existing animations we created. And we can actually use these expressions. And we can make sure that the animation is actually looped throughout the entire composition. For example, here I have a one of our layer or one of these leaf layer already animated. And you can see it's actually only extended for two seconds, just like before. So we want this animation to be extended to throw out the entire composition. So in order to add the looping expression, you can hold Alt on the keyboard and you can actually click on the stopwatch next to the window value. And here, once you click on that, you'll get a area where you can actually type in the expression. And here you can just simply typing loop out. So once you started typing, you'll already get a list of expressions from it. You can actually select a loopOut option. Once you double-click, it will be added. And to save the expression, you can actually click outside and the expression will be saved. So if I play it now, you can see that animation is actually playing even after it's passed the key frame. So that means the same and emission is actually looped throughout the entire composition and we are getting a seamless animation. So the next one we're actually going to look at wiggle expression. So here I have a separate leaf. So in this case, we are actually going to use that expression in order to animate the rotation value of this leaf. So before that, make sure the pivot point O, the anchor point is actually located in the right place. So for example, if I try to rotate this leaf now, it's actually rotating from the center. Instead of that, we want it to be rotating from the base of the leaf. So we can select a pan behind tool and we can actually move and place the pivot point in the right place. So when we rotate it, it'll be rotating from the base of the leaf. You can press R on the keyboard to select the Rotate value of a property of that particular layer. And just like before, we can press, hold and click on the stopwatch icon. So you can start by typing the legal method name. Once you start typing wiggling, you'll get an expression and then press Enter. And inside these brackets you have to do two values. One is frequency. So we'll give a frequency of two and we'll give a comma and a space. After that, we have to give amplitude like how far the value should fluctuate. So here also will give a value of. So. Once you added these values, you can click outside in order to save the expression. Now if I play, you can see there is a slight movement happening to the Rotate the value of the leaf. And now, since it's a wiggle expression, it will be adding random values to that orotate property. So we will be getting a really natural kind of animation output. So once you completed that, you can simply select the property and you can right-click and select Copy Expression Only. And you can select multiple layers similar to that. And you can select all of them and make sure older anchor point is located and placed in the right place. Once that is done, you can just press control V and that expression will be saved into the same property as we copied. So now if I play, you can see all of these leaves are actually animating. So I hope you guys understood how to use these kinds of simple expressions in order to improve our animation and simplify our animation process. So I'll see this in the next lesson. I guess. So with the expression also completed, we actually covered all four of our topic starting from the rapid effect, then bend it effect. Then we learned how to use Puppet Pin tool. And finally we covered expression. 9. Refining the animation: Hi guys. Saw in the previous lessons, we actually learned how to animate things in After Effects using different techniques and different effects and off. So in this lesson, we're actually going to learn how we can actually refine that animation and make animations much more lifelike and make them a little bit more interesting. So if you're ready, let's get started and I'll see you in the lesson. I guess we'll come back. So now that we have completed all the main topics, let's see how we can actually refine our animation. So for example, here, the animation is actually playing, but still it's actually not looking that much realistic. So in order to things that what we can actually do is first we will add our loop expression to the rest of the keyframes, just like before, okay, once you added the expression, the next thing we can actually do in order to improve the animation is adding some 0s. So we can actually select all of the keyframes at the same time. We can right-click and go to Keyframe Assist. From here you can select Easy Ease. So by adding EECS, we will be actually drastically improving or an emission compared to the origin. So from here itself, you will be able to The change in what is actually up under animation. So once you actually added that, the next thing, what we can actually do is if we actually introduce some randomness in the animation and the speed of iteration, you will be getting a much more natural output. So in order to do that, but you can easily, easily, one of the easiest method is to bring the keyframes duration and their placement also. So if I just select these keyframes and adjust them slightly, little bit like this and the chain, their duration as well. We will be getting a much more different than the previous one. Now you can see each of the leaves are actually moving in a random value. And so now we are actually getting a much more different kind of output. So this way we can actually improve and refine our animation much more interestingly. And still we are actually able to get really interesting outward. So I hope you guys understood how to use EECS and how to refine your animation by adding the randomness into the Animation method. And the next lesson, we are going to wind up the entire final illustration by adding all of these figs and older and emission process we actually learned in the previous lesson. Once that is done, evil lined up the glass. So I'll see you guys in the next clip. 10. Animating tiger illustration: Hi guys. In this lesson we're actually going to learn how to combine all the main animation topics we learned in the previous lesson. And animated folding the complex illustration. And we'll see how to, how each of these effects compliment each other in order to complete a full illustration. So if you're ready, let's get started. So since we covered all four of our topic, let's see how we can actually implement all of them together in order to animate a little bit bigger for a complex illustration. So here I have our final illustration, the tiger illustration. And as you can see, there is lot of elements are actually included here. And we have a whole lot of layers in order to animate the Muslim. So before we start jumping into starting animating things, it's always better to separate layers based on their importance and where they are actually located. And as you can see in this illustration, if you focus, we have our three different areas. One is our foreground. We have some elements in the foreground. So we will be able to create them as a group, and so we can actually focus on them. And finally, we can actually create the animation for that. But then we have the mid ground along with the tiger and rest of the leaves AND, OR. And then we have the background. So we can actually separate all these things and do three different groups. And we can actually focus on them individually. And then we can actually create an emission. So in order to do that, we can actually in the layer itself, we can select and we can decide which part is our foreground, which is our background I naught. So here I have selected a few layers. And as you can see, these are all the foreground elements. And once you selected that, you can use the labeling option, can actually just color them particular color in order to identify them easily. And after that, you can actually move to the next spot. And you can start selecting things and finding out which is our mid ground. So as you can see, I have selected a few more layers. These are actually going to be our mid ground. And I have given a color for them also. And the rest of the elements will be a background elements. And so we can actually keep the same color as it is. And once that is done, you can actually, either you can actually animate them 0s here itself, so that the only problem is months you start animating things. You will be having lot of keys and it'll be much difficult for you to identify them and manage them. So it's the one other ways we can actually select all these things. And we can actually pre-compose them into a separate group. So we can actually solely focus on one group at a time and we can actually start animating. So here I'm recomposing them this into foreground and this part into meat, and the last part in the background. So now we have these, all these three parts. So we can actually focus on each of them separately. So once that is done, we can actually go into foreground. And in the previous lesson, we actually learned how to use expressions in order to animate them. So we can actually implement the same process here. We can isolate one of the layer and make sure the third is located in the right place. Once that is done, we can go to the Rotate value and type in wiggle. Here. I can give value of two. Once that is done, I can see the animation is actually play. So we can continue and animate the rest of the layers. For the grass layer, if I do the same thing, can see it's actually note looking very nice because the whole thing is actually just moving. So for things like this, what you can do is we can actually use some other effect. So for example, in one of our previous lesson, we actually learned a voter lever up if it. So we can actually use that particular effect here. So we can select the layer and go to Effects panel and then disordered we knew, and we can select the wave warp effect. From here. We can simply change the direction and we can change the width. And just like that, we will have m animation like this. And we can actually reduce the speed to may be point 2. And the pinning option we can do to the bottom edge, so the bottom edge will not be moving. So if we play it now, you can see it's actually looking much better for this grass using we have rep effect. So the same way we can actually implement the, all these four things we have learned. The puppet pin tool, the SEC mandate expressions, as well as the wave warp effect. We can actually implement them. And finally, we can make a really interesting and emitted output. So I'm going to implement the same process for the entire illustration. And one say come back and we'll see how the animation is turned out. So I actually went in and unlimited older elements in our illustration. And the final animation is actually turned out like this. So as you can see, almost all of the elements are actually an emitter with the different, different elements. And for this illustration, I haven't used the puppet pin tool, but all the rest of the things I used here. For example, if we actually go into the foreground element, as you can see, the wiggle expression is used everywhere. And for the grass like in the previous part, we actually used of the wave warp effect. And for the midground, here I will use the Bindi defect along with our loopOut expression. So it's actually looping through a video. And for the background. Again, here I used a wiggle expression for the plants and leaves and on and for the leaf. And that relieves I use the wave warp effect. So we'll have a slight movement here and there. So this is our final animation is actually turned out. So once you actually completed the entire thing, I hope your animation also turned out like this. Hi guys, saw with the older topics completed, we actually learned how to animate illustrations in After Effects using different techniques, different effects, and how we can actually combine all of them in order to create a really interesting animation. 11. Taking output: I guess so in this lesson, we are actually going to learn how to take the Render Output, the soul. Previous lessons, we actually covered so many topics. And finally, we actually animated or file any illustration. So in this particular lesson, we're actually going to learn how to take the output from After Effects and how we can actually convert that into a GIF image. So we can actually share it with the social media and a friends. So if you're ready, let's get started and I'll see you in the lesson. Hi guys. So since we completed the entire animation process, the next thing is we have to take the output. So there is a few different formats ended few different ways we can actually take the output. But the easiest and the most effective way is using Media Encoder. So you can go to the File menu and you can go to Export. And it can actually select the option called add it to Adobe Media Encoder. Once you, once you click on it, or the median coda will be opened and our rendering will be added here. So the first thing is you have to select the format and in the export settings option, make sure you have selected, make sure you selected H.264 and everything else. You can actually keep the same. After that, how to select the file location. And after that, you can actually press the green button. And render will be started and it will be completed. Once that Ender is completed, you can just click on the output file and the file will be opened. So here, this is our V final video input. As you can see, all of our animation, everything is actually playing nicely, and this is our final output. So once that is done, let's see how we can actually convert this video, mp4 video into a GIF in Photoshop. So once you open up Photoshop, I can actually go to the File Open menu, and you can actually open the video. Once the video is opened, our timeline will be opened. And if you don't want the resolution to be too big as actual video, you can actually go to the Image menu. From here, you can select the image size and you can actually reduce the size. And if you don't want that, you can actually always change that. Only thing you ought to make sure is the width times the height should be linked properly. So whatever change you will be making idle be reflected on the height and width properly so you don't get any stitch or anything like that. So for the time being, I'm actually going to keep the same size. And once that is done, you can go to the File menu from here, export. And you can select the Save for Web Legacy. Once you clicked on it, you will get a window like this. From here, we are going to just simply select a GIF. Once you selected, depending on the size of the file, it might take a few minutes in order to calculate the entire thing. Okay? Once it's calculated, you'll get an option called color. The number of colors means more quality on colors and what? And if you don't want that much quality, you can actually always reduce it to 128. For now, I'm just keeping it the same. And after that, our low C, you can actually, I'll put one. So we will have a good quality output. Then we will keep here quality by cubic field, keep it as it is. And for the looping option will keep a forever. So we don't want it to be like stopping in between. It'll be looping throat the video forever. Once all the settings are actually given. You can see on the left side and now it's actually showing 2009. The reason is like resolution is still too big. If you want, you can actually reduce the resolution even now also. And for now I'm just keeping it as it is. After that, you can just press the Save button. And I will select the same location as before. And I'll say, okay, now that our file is saved, our, let's see how it, how the output is. As you can see, this is our default output. And the animation, everything is actually playing really nicely. And now it's actually showing Tony, NA and NB. So you can actually always to reduce the quality and resolution TO, you'll get a much less file says. So I hope you guys understood how to take convert your videos into GIF so you can actually share it with all your friends and community anode. So in the next lesson, we're actually going to conclude everything. And I'll see you in the next class. 12. Conclusion: Hi guys. So with the older lessons we have covered earlier, we actually completed our entire lesson. So let me congratulate you ones for completing the entire lesson. And I hope you learned something new. And now you are ready to learn much more about aftereffects and how that can help you with your career and creative process in the future. So if you're an artist, I believe that I have given a new medium. So you can actually explore and create new artworks and all that.
