There is all there are. Ilya is there or are there Yeah, till near here. Peddie c and to see watch. Here is a good phrase to use toe Ask a question in French it looks quite complicated but it's actually pronounced s Chrissy s Chrissy the first bit The E S t hyphen ce is pronounced s then the word in the middle could and then we know that would in the end See s Chrissy and it means is it s Chrissy. It seems quite a long way to say is it? But Esca say literally means is it that it is? It's a bit weird, I know, but that's how they say it infringe its Chrissy and you can use it in the same way that you use Say Justin a question. So for example excuse a bomb means is it good literally It means Is it that it is good? Oh, Esseker se e c sq city See means is it here? But literally it means is it that it is here now don't worry about what the literal meanings are, though. I just told you in case you wondered Just learn s Chrissy as is. It s Kasey. So how would you ask? Is it good? Excuse A bone. Excuse a boom, Is it here? Esseker say you see Esseker City. See? So the T on the end of the say in s Cassie, you can liaise with the next word if it starts with a vowel. So Esseker CFTC is it here? How would you ask? Is it for me? Excuse me for more Excuse April more. How would you say? Is it good for me? Excuse A bump s cause a bump or more. Now, if you take the 1st 2 words the s on the curve away you're left with Just say bomb form one which we know means it is good for me. So really, if you just put the little phrase esque Esca in front off any sentence in French, it actually turns it into a question. So, for example, if you said in French, that is for me. You say, sir, safe armoire. Well, if you put Esseker in front of that, then you get the question? Is that for me? So how would you say? Is that for me? Excuse ASAP, Omar. Excuse us. A poem or literally means is it that that is for me? Excuse a staple more. 31. 3 Minute French Lesson 39b: How would you say in French? Is that everything? Well, just think about how do you say that is everything? And then port Esca in front of it esque assassin too esque assassin too. So the phrase sas stay two means that is everything. And if you put Esca in front of it, you turn it into a question asker sassy too. Or how would you ask? Is it in France? So I just think, How do you say it is in France and put Esca in front of it? Excuse a on for months. Excuse it on phones and so say on France means it is in front. And if report esseker in front of it, we get Esca cell phones. Is it inference? How would you ask? Is it near here? Excuse a piney. See, it's cause a pregnancy. So we learned in the last lesson Credit D c means near here. Well, here's the opposite. Luan d. C. You are d c means far from here and so we want means far. And then do a c becomes d c. Which means from here luan DC far from here. So how would you say in French? Is it far from here, Xcacel One. You see Xcacel want to see The restaurant isn't far from here. Yeah. Has Ahani 20? C. Lo has a home. Naples Juan D. C. I think it's too far from here. From what I said, hold one D. C from Wasit. Hold one d. C that is too far from here. Sass it hollow. An issue Sasi told NBC. Now if we take the d c bit away from Luann d. C, we're left with just luan, which means far Luan. So how would you ask him? French? Is it far? Xcacel one Xcacel one. 32. 3 Minute French Lesson 39c: How would you say in French? It's very far. Say hello, say Taiwan. I think it's too far. Former state Hold one from Wasit Hold one. It isn't far Cindy Pahlawan. Cindy Pahlawan. Now here's your next word in French. It's an adjective and terrorism interest on. So even though it starts with an I end, it's pronounced I'm their high song and it means interesting And Tyson So how would you say in French everything is very interesting here to a tray Under isn't easy. In fact, this instance we have lots off liaises that can take place The T on the end of two can liaise with the next word The s on the end of time can liaise with the next word And the T on the end of an terreson can also liaise with the next word. And so rather than saying toe a tray anti song E c you can say to take present I saw on T C to the present our Santi See, remember that that's optional. You can choose how you want to say it. So in this lesson, so far we've had s Chrissy s Chrissy, which means is it Kredi see d c means near here. And then the opposite is Luan d C luan d. C, which means far from here the word luan by itself just means far. And similarly the word play by itself just means near and then enter Hassan Anti Hassan means interesting. So using anti Hassan, how would you say in French? It isn't very interesting. Soon a patron anti system Synet Patrick Santa How would you say Marie is interesting keeping in mind that to make and a Hassan feminine, you simply have to add an e to the end and you pronounce it anti basant. Marry a tender. I don't marry a Santa isn't so anti restaurant is the feminine version off anti Hassan we have to do is Adam E to the end. And that means you've been pronounced the t on the end and there s aunt on. The reason we're using the feminine here is because the name Marie is a woman's name. So marry a tanto crescent 33. 3 Minute French Lesson 39d: How would you say in French? I think it's very interesting. Mama. Say train and Harrison bomb. What? Say Trident? Everything is always very interesting here. Toe a to your tray and I don't see today to your present address on TC. Everybody here is very interesting. Sulamani. See a President Hassan to LeMond DC eight hasn't arrests. Um, is it interesting in Marseille? You see? Excuse it and see, how would you say? Is there anything interesting in LA Rochelle on for the anything interesting bit? You would literally just say something interesting. So it was a Is there something interesting in LA fashion? Yeah. Still getting shows that hasan allocution e a till caricatures down to rest on telephone shell. How would you say in French that is interesting. Sat, say anti Hassan Sassy dental system. Pierre is interesting. Pierre, eh? Anti isil, Pierre Attentive. How would you say in French? Pierre isn't very interesting. Pierre Nay. Patrons on terrorism PM May pat Presenter Hazem. Oh, Marie is always interesting. Marry a to your and I don't. So again, you have to use the feminine version off anti song here because Murray is a woman's name, marry A to Jordan present 34. 3 Minute French Lesson 39e: This next word in French is identical to English. In spelling, it's just pronounced a little differently. Besim posse Evil means possible ProSieben Andi I've put a little do in brackets, which gives us pastilles blue do. And that means possible to now you can use possibly just by itself and say something. For example, like send a Papacy Blue Sunni Papa Cibola means it isn't possible, but it becomes a really useful word if you put do after it now. So far, we've learned that do means from and off. But here it means to Now I can hear you screaming already that the word means to Well, yes, it does as well in French. Little words are and do are called propositions, and unfortunately they can mean all sorts of things. We'll talk about them some more in a later lesson and going a bit more depth. But for now, the word, uh, we know means to or at or in and the word do well, we used to know that it means from and off, but now we know it can also mean to as well so possibly do well. Those two words always go together and so you always use dough with possible. If you want to say possible to, you can then put on the end of this any verb. For example, If you want to say is it possible to pay tomorrow? You will say s Chrissy Posse Vler, Dupay edema Excuse a perceived that they edema. And so the word dough goes after the possible er and then you can put the verb which is baby in this sentence after the door, So s Chrissy Posse. Vler do Peggy doma Is it possible to pay tomorrow? So you have to put the word dough after possible. Er, if you want to put a verb on the end of it or for example, if you want to say is it possible to eat here without a reservation? You would say excuse a possible German J C songs you know has ever still excuse a perceived more J. C. Is it possible to eat here without a reservation? So we've got is it possible escape Aceval And then because you want to put a verb, we have to use the word do on. Then Mongie is cause they perceive the more J C. Is it possible to eat here. So how would you say in French? Is it possible to try the wine? It's because they perceive this any live on excuse? A possible they say you live on. So the would do when you place it in front of a word that starts with a vowel shortens two D apostrophe. That's what we get in destiny. Excuse a procedure they say you live on or how would you say? Is it possible to see it now? Excuse me. Possibly deliver mantle. Excuse a possibly do have one dimensional. 35. 3 Minute French Lesson 39f: How would you ask him? French? A possible did fair Una the Russian Sunni. Papa Siller. The Fairlane has a restroom. It's possible to do it tomorrow. Say possibly do LaFell DOMA staple Acevedo fell doma Is it possible for me to pay tomorrow ? It's Cassie. Perceived upon what? The pegida man. It's Chrissy perceived from what the edema so possibly do means possible to. But in this instance, we've got possible a poem. What do So it must mean possible for me to and so you could say possible a poem Ouaddou in French and it means possible for me to So is it possible for me to do something, for example? So you can put a verb on the end off perceivable ma do. So how would you say in French? Is it possible for me to try the wine excuse IPO seal upon what they say you live on Excuse Impossible for more than a lover. Well, how would you say, is it possible for me to see it now. Excuse me. Perceived poor model of wire Montana. Excuse me? Possibly do live. Want Montana now? You may or may not have been wondering why we haven't been contracting the Do loop in the last few sentences. So Esca support, even from what do live wire mantle? Because in course one. I said that when you have a do and alert together, they contract and become do well. That only counts when the law means the And so when you have do and look on the low means, the then they do become do. But here the word low means it. Is it possible for me to see it now? So the phrase look voir means to see it. And so when you have a do and the look on the low means it, you don't contract them, so we just leave them as dirt. It's gossip received. From what do Lavoie, Montana 36. 3 Minute French Lesson 39g: How would you ask him? French? Is it possible for me to hire a car for three days s because they perceive a bomb are doing ? You invite your excuse. They proceed upon model Luwane watch Airport was you. It is impossible for me to do it now. Sony Papacy Blip Omoi dull affair Montana Sunni Pepe Syrup Omoi do affair Minton. It wasn't possible for me to buy it. It was too expensive. Soon it a proposal. A poem on the last day said it. Tasha Sanity. Papa Singapore model ashtray said it. Tasha, Everything is possible to a possible to a post. Similar. Is it possible for me to have to stamps, please? Excuse IPCC report. Model do Tom proceeded to play. Excuse a person. Is it possible for me to go without you? Excuse, impulsive. Excuse me. Pacy report model eso possible upon what does means possible for me to But there's no reason why you can't say possible for you to So how do you think you would say in French? Is it possible for you to go without me? Excuse it. Possibly Porvoo daily someone excuse a procedural poodle is somewhat so in this lesson we've had s Chrissy which means is it pi d c means near here Luan d c means far from here The word luan by itself just means far. And the song means interesting Forsee blur the means possible to And then you can put available in the end of it. Or you could say something like Steve LaBalme watt do which means possible for me to and again you put a verb on the end of it. 37. 3 Minute French Lesson 39h: It's time now to practice what we've learned in this lesson. So how do you say in French? Is it possible for me to eat here? Excuse a person, the more J C excuse a procedure Palm Wadham on J. C. Is it possible for you to do that tomorrow? I'm going to order 41. 3 Minute French Lesson 40a: Let's start this lesson with a quick recap off the words and phrases that we learned in the last lesson. How do you say in French is it s Chrissy near here, Pankisi, Far from here. I want to see interesting anti racism possible or possible to possibly do and possible for me to perceived Moi. Now we've already had the Web Shunji, which means to change. But if we add a little word due to the end of Sean G, then we get Sean. Gee, do which could mean a slightly different thing. When you use the verb Shunji. By itself, it means to change as in to modify something. So to make a small change to it. For example, if you said Jay, it means I would like to change my reservation as in your like to modify it. So maybe put it a different time or a different number of people. If you use Shawn Jay do. However, this means to change something completely, so to exchange it or to switch it. For example, if we said Judy hi, Sean J Tablet, that means I would like to change tables as in change it completely. So Sean Gee by itself means to change as in to modify one or two aspects of it. Whereas Shawn Jay do means to change it completely, to exchange it or to switch it. So how would you say in French I would like to change tables. Did you vote high, Shunji? The tab is your food. Hey, Sean. Jaded tabla. Or how would you ask? Can I change hotels? Is your hotel Sanjay Doten? So it means to change hotels as in to go to a different hotel. So to exchange or to switch hotels. Now, one thing that you might notice is that in English, when you want to change something, you tend to say the thing in the plural. So we had, for example, change tables or in this sentence, change hotels within s in the end, in French. However, you leave it in the singular because in French, the logic is that your only changing one of them? So to change the table, Shawn Jay do tab or to change hotels, sean j dot n and you leave it in the singular so you don't put the s on the end in French 42. 3 Minute French Lesson 40b: to help to understand the difference between Sean G and Shawn. Jay, do a bit more. Let me show you an example. I used to get my own head around it. So the sentence juvenile, Tayshaun. Gee, do what you means. I would like to change cars, as in I would like to get a whole new car. So, Shawn Jay, do watch. L means to exchange your car or to switch your car. So you're getting a whole new one. Whereas if you just take the dough out of this sentence, you get Jude Ratio NJ watch, which means I would like to change the car. Now this means to modify it somehow. So maybe painted or decorated or do something to the car. So you're keeping the same car. You're just modifying it. So the 1st 1 is revolting. Tayshaun J Do voucher is to get a whole new car and drove alteration. Angela Voucher means to modify it somehow. So when you use the word Sean Jay do you don't have to have the word for the in front of the next thing on. The next thing is always in the singular. So you would say Shawn Jay do what? You But then when Just use Sean J, then you do you use the juvenile ratio? Angela Bracho. I'd like to change the car. So how do you say in French? I'm going to change cause Juve, Asian Regina, Watch reservation. Jada Watch Or how would you ask? Do I have to change tables? Do as you're showing me the tabular. Watch your show on the tablet. Can I change rooms? Please Show me the Schomburg, please. You, Shawn Jay, the tshamba Are you going to change hotels? Olive Ocean Hotel. I leave you Sean GeoTel. This next word is always useful. One toe have. If something goes wrong on problem and problem, it means a problem on problem. So how would you say in French? I have a problem. J. I'm problem. Jm problem. And so you can see here because we've used then problem must be a masculine known on whenever you get a new noun. Always think. Is it masculine or feminine? So this one is masculine on problem. And then think about what would be the problem. It would be Look, problem. And the more you say it yourself, the more you'll just associate problem with On On Blue rather than Eun Orla. And then you won't have to think. Is it masculine or feminine? So am problem on blue problem mean a problem and the problem. And if you say it again and again and again, eventually those two will just stick to your mind. Am problem Lou problem. They will never accidentally se eun problem or lap problem. It's always masculine. I'm problem j problem. 43. 3 Minute French Lesson 40c: How would you say in French, there's a problem with Pierre Delia and problematic Pierre Ilia and problem Avik Pierre. Well, there's a problem with my car, Ilia and problem. A victim of what? You? Yeah, and problem. A victim of what? You? Is there a problem, Mr Bloom? He Attila problem. Michelle Blow? Yeah, Till on problem. Mr. Bloom, there's a big problem in Paris today. Ilia on home problem. A patio de Ilia and calm problem. What is the problem? Killing a problem, Kayla. Problem. So problem means problem. And this is a nice little phrase that comes from that. And it's a good one to have on memorize bad problem. Part do. Problem means no problem, literally. It means not any problem, because power means not on. When you put Pat under together, it means not any so patent do it. Problem means not any problem, but in English, we just say no problem. In speaking, they pronounce it more like pad problem rather than part do problem. So the pattern and the do sound almost was like bad, bad problem. So how would you say in French? No, no problem. No problem. No problem. So the patter bit in pad problem means not any. And it's quite a usual thing to learn, so you might be able to guess what this next phrase means. EU Nia Padder India Patter It means there isn't or there aren't any India patent Do So. How would you say in French, there isn't any wine in your pad oven in yapa, duvan and again, The pattern, the dough sound almost like pad in speaking in your pad, Verne. And so e v r means there is or there are. And if you make it negative, you put no in front of the y se get eel knee Kenya and then you put the word part on the end. Uni APA means there isn't. And then if you put do on the end of that you get there. Isn't any India pad Do India Padavan. There isn't any wine or there is no wine 44. 3 Minute French Lesson 40d: How would you say in French, there isn't a television in the A path to television in your palate elitism. So literally. You're saying there isn't any television in your pad to television? Or how would you say there is no problem literal? There isn't any problem in a bad problem in the about the problem. How would you ask in French? Can I change rooms? There's no shower. Please show me the Schomburg in your produce projections Tshamba in a padded douche. And so I don't forget that even though in English we say, Can I change rooms with an s on the end in French, You leave it in the singular. So please you, Sean J. D. Sharmba, Because you're in changing one room. So can I change rooms as in? Can I exchange them or switch them? Preacher Shawn Jay, The chopper in the air Pollution. How would you say Excuse me? There's no water. Excuse me. More in your paddle. Excuse me. More in your pad. Oh, now here's your last phrase for this lesson. Don't like charm. Don't lashaun The word don't means in and then lash Tshamba means the room said Donna Shampoo means in the room. So how would you ask? Is there a television in the room? Yeah. Still in television on the last jumper? Yeah, Chilean television. Lola shampoo. Or how would you ask? Can I eat in the room, please? You more gentle Assam, please, No more J. 45. 3 Minute French Lesson 40e: How would you ask him? French, Are you in the room? It would on a show. It would allow Chama. Excuse me, There's no bed in the room. Excuse me More in the apartheid leader, Lasama excusing more in the pod. A little a shaman. And so the word we means bed. If you can't remember some of the hotel vocabulary If you go back to course two. And look at the vocabulary expansion section called in the hotel, then you can refresh your memory. So excuse him one in Europe. Adelina Nachama. How would you say in French? It's in the room, se. Or how would you say it wasn't in the room soon it a patent? Or how would you say I'm in the room? But there is no television. Is your sweet on a show for May in your padded Elysium? Just read a LaShonda amazingly apart Italy resume. So in this lesson, we've had Sean G, which means to change, as in to modify something such a change one bit about it. But then, if you want to change something completely, then you can use instead Shawn Jay do which means to exchange or to switch something. Then we had, um problem. Which means a problem. Bad problem. No problem. India Pander means there isn't all there aren't any in the a patent do. And in speaking the pat on the dough sound like one word in the A pad. And then you comport a singular noun on the end of it. So in your powder something and then we had Dona Chama. No, la Sharma means in the room. 46. 3 Minute French Lesson 40f: it's time now to practice what we've learned in this lesson. How do you say in French? Are you going to change tables? And if you show me the tablet, I leave you show me the tablet. So don't forget that when you're changing something, as in your stopping it or switching it then firstly, you need to have Shawn Jay Do. And secondly, the thing that you're switching has to be in the singular. Whereas in English, we say change tables in French. It's just one table. So Olivo Shaun t two tablets How would you say in French? Is it possible for me to change rooms? Excuse a perceived From what? The show is a the tshamba. It's just a perceived poor mother Shunji the Tshamba There isn't a problem in Europe Are the problem in the A pad problem? It was in the room City Dona Chama city. Don't excuse me. The hotel is near me. Low 10 A penny more Lo tell a paid more. So we haven't really looked at this phrase. Pay them what it means near me. But if you look at pray d C, which is the phrase that we learned that means near here were literally in French. You say near from here, Andi In English, whenever you want to say near somewhere in French, you have to always say near front. So you say Pray do so near me Toiletries a near from me paid the more If you want to say near the hotel you would say pray, do low tell And so you always a pray do and then the place that it's near So play them one near me How would you say in French? Everybody was very nice here to remind it A try stamp I see to Lamond at a trace embassy. 49. 3 Minute French Lesson 40i: Now let's do some French to English Recap. Translations. Damon, are you going to order now? 50. 3 Minute French Lesson 41a: Let's start this lesson with a quick recap off the words and phrases that we learned in the last lesson. How do you say in French to change as in to modify something Shaun T to change as into exchange something. Sean Gender. A problem and problem. No problem. That problem there isn't any or there aren't any in a pad do in the room. No Nachama. Now we've had the word tall before, but let's add a little more to it. Talk to the point. Talk to the point. It means too much noise. So the word pointy means noise in French. 20 point. So how would you say in French there is too much noise It up toward the P. They told me There is always too much noise here. You have to show for the poignancy. You have to show 20 pc. It is good, but there's too much noise. Sable. May 20 point stable Media told the pointy. Do you want to go to the hotel? There is too much noise here. Vivo. L A hotel. Yeah, 20 point. You see, we live with a hotel. We're told that we see. Is there too much noise for you. Yeah. Still told the people who Yeah, Till told the people who so talk means too much. And in French, when you want to put something on the end of tall and say too much noise, for example, you have to say talk do which means too much off as though Todd up we literally means too much off noise taught the pointy. 51. 3 Minute French Lesson 41b: How would you say in French? There's too much noise in my room? You have told the point of my charm if you had told the freedom a Chama. Now this next phrase has told her at the start. But if you change employees to cafa toward cafa means too many cockroaches. So Gaffar means cockroaches so tall order can mean too much. As in Tada Pui Too much noise or too many as in toward the calf Pfaff Too many cockroaches . So how would you say in French? There are too many cockroaches in the room. Yeah, I told Calf after Donna Shahm Yeah, I told Calf Afghan Nachama There are too many cockroaches here Idiot told calf are you see ? Yeah, I told Cafa You see, it's beautiful here but I think there are too many cockroaches stable. We see May Mama cafa saeb always see me from what you told calf out. So we've had so far toward employees meaning too much noise and Todd Cafa which means too many cockroaches and so to order, as I've said can mean too much and also to many you can put any noun on the end off tort into Andi. If the noun is singular, it means too much in English. But if the noun is preferable, it means too many So, for example, toward the van means too much wine. Todd Pool A. To most chicken toward Kout means too many carrots. If you just want to say too much or too many by itself, then you just say tall without the dough, as we've seen before, se Topol more. It's too much for me. So tall means too much by itself or too many. And if you want to put a noun on the end, then you have to say talking, do and then put the now. So we had told the BWI as an example for too much noise and taught Gaffar as another example. Too many cockroaches. But you can change them to any now, as you wish. 52. 3 Minute French Lesson 41c: remember this phrase that we learned a very long time ago to Lamond to Lamond, which we said means everybody. Well, if we say instead toward the mourned toward the moon, this means too many people toward Ammand. Literally. The word monde means world. And so when we say to Lamond, it means all the world. So, everybody, it doesn't mean literally everybody in the whole world. But it just means everybody toward the mound therefore means too much of the world. So Tord Ammand literally means too much of the world. But you can use it to mean too many people. So how would you say in French? There are too many people here, their totem only see he had told them honesty. There are actually a couple of ways to say too many people in French. The first phrase taught Ammand is just one way. The second way is toward the pair, so on. And so I've already seen Pearson, which means people and so you can say, told the path on a zone other way to say too many people. So either Todd Ammand or told the person. So how would you say in French? Paris is very beautiful, but there are always too many people there. Patty, a table Malia to go toward the more Ndola Parry a tribal may add to your tartare, Montella. Or of course, you can change toward the mound. Toe person, party, a table misery A to your persona. How would you say? I think there are too many people there from one idiot told Amanda. Oh, someone told person. How would you say there are always too many people at this restaurant? Yeah, to your toward the moon that self has to home. Yeah. To your toward the moon that surfaced a home or he acted your told persona surfaced a home . Well, how would you ask? Are there too many people here? Yeah. Still told among the sea. Oh, yeah. You told the person you see? 53. 3 Minute French Lesson 41d: Here's another useful phrase to add to your collection. Baku or both who do it means a lot. Or when you put the dirt on the end, it means a lot off. Well, cool. So by itself, Buchel means a lot. But then Bodo means a lot off. So how would you say in French there is a lot of noise in their book? Would've we? They're both. Or how would you say there are lots of people here? Yeah, because the past honesty. Yeah. Or you could say instead, Yabloko demand ISI just like we had told amount and told the person You can't say barcode, moaned or barcode gas on. And just another thing to know is the little word do very often just gets glazed over quickly in French. So in this sentence, Ilia Boco do pass on E c. You'll hear it more like yobbo. Good person. Easy. How would you say there is a lot of wine here? Yeah. Book Develop. See in their book, Odvan is theme. Why do you have lots of cars? Pacquiao achievable? Who do what you Pacquiao Aviva book would want you. I would like to eat here, but there are lots of cockroaches in the restaurant. Juve Time A GST may be a book cafa don't know has a home, Judy Kramer, J. Malia Book Cafardo. And so Don't Means in We had it in the phrase Don Lashanda in the room or domash on pot in my room, and so they were down by itself means in and you can start. To do this in French is take words and phrases that we've learnt already and use them with different words. So Don is in or another way of saying this sentence would be. There are lots of cockroaches at the restaurant, and the word for at is a on. When you have a handler together, they become all so you would say Instead, Juventus Lame O J E. C. May a book could cafa o esta home or instead of at the restaurant, we could say at this restaurant at suit esta home because the word stood means this Judy Bream on J. C. Maybe a book. Could Cafa still has a home? Or is there saying at this restaurant we could say in this restaurant using dawn with ser Gerold time on J. C. May yearbook cafa don't stop fester and so try and start to play around with the language. Now you've got quite a collection off words and phrases. The more you do this, the more options you'll give yourself. When you're speaking French on the more options you have, then the more quickly you will be able to form sentences fluently without having to think too much. 54. 3 Minute French Lesson 41e: How would you say in French, there isn't a lot of cheese in a pop up book? Could former in Europe Aboud Former. There is always a lot of food here. Yeah, to your book. You know it Touristy. Yeah, To show boku no literacy. Now here's your last word for this lesson. The word is shores shows, which means things shows we saw it in Kelkal shores, which was something. Well, if you just take the show's part and put an s on the end, you get things. Now this word can be used a lot with the word, which means two things, too, as in things to do or things to eat or things to see. Shores are fair shows are Muji shores of wire so you can put any verb on the end of it. Remember how a couple of lessons ago we had possibly do meaning possible to possibly do whenever you use possible er with a verb, you have to put on do in between them, for example, Sunni purpose. Even in the past year, Sunni Papacy blur the pat year. It means it isn't possible to leave. So whenever you have possible er and you want to put a wear on the end, then you have to have the word do in between them. Send a Papacy Blue Do Pata. Well, the same thing happened with shows. If you want to put a verb after shores, you have to put our in front of the VEB. So, for example, if the Abood Shores affair, there are lots of things to do. Yearbook, you do shows affair. So the word act comes after shores and then in front of the next verb. So how would you say in French? I have too many things to do, Jay told the show. That fair, Jay told the show's affair. So the word fair by itself means to do. But when you put fair on the end of shores, you have to put little word in front of it. So J. Todd Shores affair? Or how would you say there are lots of things to eat? Yeah, Booty shows a movie. Yeah, because the show's a movie 55. 3 Minute French Lesson 41f: How would you say in French? There are lots of things to see in France. You have broken the shows have life in France. Yeah, because the shows have y conference. There are always lots of things to do in Marseilles. But there are also lots of people. Yeah, to show Baku shows affair Hamas. See, May aoc, Baku person. Yeah, to job. You could show the fair Mama se Missouri OSI boot person. So they are in front of fair. Here is because you've got shores, but then the are in front of Marseille means in because mass A is a city on. Remember, you have to use our to mean in or two in front of towns or cities and use arm to mean in or two in front of countries. How would you say in French? I bought lots of things to eat yesterday. Jsda Booth shows a Mongia J R Stable shows a year. Do you have a lot of things to do? Have a book. Could show the fair, have every book to show the fair. There aren't a lot of things to eat in Napa in the shows. So in this lesson, we've had told appointee, meaning too much noise toward the Gaffar, which means too many cockroaches. The phrase to order by itself can just mean too much or too many. If you put a noun on the end, told Lemonde means to many people. But you could also say toward the pass on to me the same thing then broke odor means a lot off and shows means things, too, and he comport any verb on the end. Off shores are things to do would be sure affair things to eat. Shores, um org Things to drink. Shores Abwehr So anywhere can be placed on the end of shores. 56. 3 Minute French Lesson 41g: It's time now to practice what we've learned in this lesson. How do you say in French, can I change rooms? There's too much noise in my room. Preacher John J. The Shoma it had told the acquittal Mashaba preaches. Sanjay Sharma told the breathing machine, I like it here, but there are too many cockroaches. Let me see. May hold cafa. Did you let me see? Media told Cafa. It's beautiful, but there are always too many people here. Sable me. You have to show toward person. We see. Or instead of total Pearson, you could say toward the Moon Sable, Miss India, to your totem odyssey. How would you say there's a lot of food here? Yeah, because you know it really easy. Yeah, Boo could. No, it's jealousy. I think there are lots of things to do from what area vocal shows affair from what year book could show the fair. There isn't sort of wine here for everybody in Europe. Abaco divinely Seaport to Lamond in a public would vanish people to demand. Do you have things to eat at the hotel? A review shows unusual hotel. A review shows are Mujahadin. There is too much noise at the hotel. Yeah, I told Gabriel Hotel. Yeah, I told Gabriel Hotel there were too many people and I don't have a lot of food. They're told Person Asian a problem. You know, you too. Or you could say it had told Monde Age in a public, I have a headache. There is too much noise, Jame Moledet told a buoy J. Moledet. 57. 3 Minute French Lesson 41h: Now let's have a go at during some reverse translations. What do these French sentences mean in English? Jamilah phones? Yeah. Bouphavanh able to homage Jamilah forms. Yeah, but could Van Abel Could farmers say perfect a light Friends? There's a lot of wine and a lot of cheese. It's perfect for me. Yeah, because Cafardo machine Yeah, you could cafa no machine. There are lots of cockroaches in my room. From what you told what your apathy boom wa you told what you are. Stay Born may yet hold, agree Disable Media told him. We it's good book. There's too much noise. 58. 3 Minute French Lesson 41i: What we'll do now are some recap translations to incorporate words and phrases that we learned in previous lessons. How do you say in French? It's gossip received from what? The point all the time. It's because he proceeded from what? The point of all the time. 59. 3 Minute French Lesson 41j: Now let's do some French to English Recap. Translations. How do you say in English you would rate 12 Tom or seriously, you would write 20. Time for Stephen play. I would like three stamps, please. Excusing WASI comienza Excuse me. I leave roof while until he fell. Are you going to see the Eiffel Tower? 60. 3 Minute French Lesson 42a: Let's start this lesson with a quick recap of the words and phrases that we learned in the last lesson. How do you say in French Too much noise toward it? We too many cockroaches hold cafe Too many people for the mourned we grow. So they told the person a lot off or lots off vocoder things to shows. A. Now here's a very useful joining word in French Bascue Bath Group. It means because Bhaskar now this is two words in French and you'll hear it pronounced Pascu classical or usually you're here pronounces one word. Basque. So shooters everywhere you find easiest past goo Basque. How would you say in French? I'm not going to eat here because the food is terrible. Come on, J. C. Pascual and know it to a Terry Miller Jimmy Palmer JST passed a I'm not going to the beach because I'm too tired. Janvier, Potala Plot. Pascucci. Three Top 30 game. Jim A puzzle. A plot. Pasqua's sweet or fatty. I'm very busy because I have lots of things to do. Just we try to keep a basket. Jabo could shows affair. You just be test occupation Basket. Jimbo could show the affair. I'm not going to buy that because it's too expensive. Janhvi Potash Teesta baskets a Tasha in French. The correct way to pronounce things is to pronounce every word. So you would correctly say, Juna vapor, fashionista, best good state or share. But you're very often hear June vapor instead of junior vapor. And then, as I have said, the liaison between the S is on vows and start. The next word happens a lot. June Papa's ash diese and then pass good often is heard as Basque Jubei possessed a stop. Ask and then say Tosha, you should be possessed. A stop asks Etosha. This can sometimes make it a little bit tricky to understand spoken French. But the more you hear, the easier it will get. Also, the word sir in this sentence means that, But as we know, you can also say Sula So you might hear June V possessed a Sula Bhaskar, see Torchia 61. 3 Minute French Lesson 42b: How would you ask in French, Can you pay because my car doesn't work? Poopy Basket back out in the Mashburn believe obey a basket. Mack after. No. Mashburn. I don't like that because it's green. Jenin pasa basket There He's an imposter. Pasch Stay there or instead of satin could say Sula, Jim Pascarella, Pasch severe. I like it because it's beautiful. Jewell M. Pastor Seibu Julian Pasch say Boom. Now we've had G, which means I have his the opposite. Juniper. June EPA, June EPA. It means I don't have or I haven't so in English. There are two ways to say it. I don't have. I haven't in French. There's just juniper. What you can do is to replace any phrase that has J in it with June EPA to make it negative . We learned a lot of phrases that have a J in it. For example, Jake Omondi was I ordered or I have ordered. So how would you say in French? I haven't ordered gin a pack. Omondi. She's in a pack, Omondi, Or we let that J. Moggi was I have eaten. So how would you say I haven't eaten? Today? Is in a Pramoj. And as I said, John EPA can mean I haven't, But it can also mean I don't have. So how would you say in French, I don't have many things to do today on the word for many in French is the same as the word for lots off Boco do so. As I was saying, I don't have many things to do today. You could say I don't have lots of things to do today. Jeunet Pablo could shows a John a pop Baku shows affair, so the word Baku can mean lots or a lot, but it can also mean many. 62. 3 Minute French Lesson 42c: How would you say in French? I don't have a reservation, but I would like a table for two gin. A passing has arrested Major Buddha. You in Tablet Po Do June A pattern has arrested major violation Tablet Po do I haven't drive the pizza Possess a pizza pizza? I haven't paid the bill. Jeunet. Papa, I haven't eaten a lot today. So the word Baku you can use just by itself If you just want to say a lot you only need the word dough after it if you're placing a noun on the end. So if you wanted to say something like I haven't eaten Ah lot of pizza today. Then you would say Janay Palmer J Baku do pizza. But if you just want to say I haven't eaten a lot today, then you can just use Bokel unique Pramoj book would be How would you say in French? I haven't ordered the wine originate Paco Manila Von gin A pack on monday. Or how would you say I haven't booked a table? Andi, I have booked was the same as I have reserved. J has Alvy So I haven't booked a table June a path is a in tabular John A Pat has a in tablet. I ordered the wine, but I haven't ordered the food. A common major named Paco Monday Lannoy, too J common Delavan made in a pack on Monday, annoyed, too. 63. 3 Minute French Lesson 42d: How would you say in French? I've ordered for me, but I haven't ordered for you. Jake. Amanda Palmer made Jake Amanda Palmer made in a pack. Now here's your next phrase in French. A little little Oh, little do so little means the time Little And if you put dirt on the end just like with the other words that we've been putting dirt and are we comport a verb on the end of this and say the time to say the time to do something all the time to eat so little on or don't do. But we've already had the word love which meant the time on a watch. For example, the sentence Junaid Jeanette Pallor means I don't have the time when you're talking about the time in a watch. So if somebody asked you the time you could say unique by low I don't know what time it is . I don't have the time. Or you can ask a question Abbeyville there have you Julia, which means Do you have the time as in? Do you know what time it is? Have Ebola. The word little, however, is actually talking about the time to do something. Not the time on a clock. So you need palette on Means I don't have the time as in I'm too busy or I'm not. Free is you need palette on. If you want to put a verb on the end of Luton to say, What do you don't have time for? Then you have to use the little word do first. So, for example, June, a pallet on the fair, you know, has a vast soon means I don't have the time to make a reservation. You're a pilot. And so you put the little word do after Luton. But then in front, off any where? So how would you say in French? I would like to do it, but I don't have the time. Did you vote the rail affair made in a pallet on You've got the whole affair. May Jeanette palette on. So when you use a little by itself, you don't need the word endure. But if you want to put a web on the end, then you do need to use. So how would you say I don't have the time to do it now? June, A pallet on the affair. Mental. You need palette only fair mental. I've already mentioned once, but I just remind you that when you have the word do next to the word love, you only contract them to make do when the word look means the in this sentence love affair means to do it said the lower means it. Therefore, you don't contract the dough so we don't say generic ballot on do Fairmont. No, you leave it as Junaid Saletan Dull affair Montana. 64. 3 Minute French Lesson 42e: How would you ask In French, DEA Have time tomorrow, Have evil it on the map. I've even lit on the man. Do you have time to go to the beach today? Avivah Litan Dalila Pleasures Do we have evil Aton Dallara? Pleasures would be And so here little do the little word dough becomes D apostrophe in front of the next word, Ali, because it starts with a vowel. So I have evil Atone delay, jalape lodge. Or should we? The word Oh, Jodi means today on do a little thing that I picked up when I was living in France. Was that when the French pronounced ordered we They have a little expulsion of air at the end. The rather oh, should we or your DUI? And they breathe a little tiny bit at the end. Little things like that will help you to sound a little bit more French. And so I've told you now that the word pretty in front is very often pronounced t and so it's glazed over quickly. And now the word or Joey In France, they very often pronounced and so they breathe out It is, But at the end, I'm evil atonal applies. Another one was, When you have do in phrases like book who do or told, Do you often hear them just glazed over? So, for example, Todd, we, rather than talking that we told we or Todd mourned Todd Person rather than talking, took their son. So little things like this will have you to sound more French when you're speaking, you haven't got to use them, but if you add them in now and again, there will have to sound a little bit more French. How would you say in French? Do you have time to do it for me? Now? Have a bullet on the left upon woman to know have even a totally fair for moments? No. So the dough and look in this sentence often sound as though they have been joined together . Rather than saying every village don't do left there for more mental, you'll hear a lot of French people say Luton Lu affair, so it's glued rather doula. I've evil, a totally fair for a moment. You don't have to do this yourself. The correct way is to pronounce each word separately, as I've said, But the more you do do this, the more friends your sound. So have evil looked on 65. 3 Minute French Lesson 42f: How would you say in French? I don't have time to eat a lot today. Andi, In this sentence, we say I don't have time but literally in French, you would say I don't have the time. So I don't have the time to eat a lot today. June A pallet on the moon Gin A pallet on the moon. Jabo cool would be so We've already seen June EPA, which means I don't have Well, if you put the little word do on the end of this you get is you need patent do Which means I don't have any genetic batter. The words Pat does in French literally mean not any a couple lessons ago when we learned no problem, we said it was part do problem which literally means not any problem. Bad problem. But you can use powder with any noun to me. Not any or not. So for example, unique Patan means I don't have any time. I have not any time literally Jeanette Pata Tom. And when you use pad do you don't need the word for the after? You just put the noun straight as it is. Jeanette Pata Tom Oh, Jeanette Pata usually means I don't have any money. So our John in French means money in a paddock. I have not any money. Gin a pandemic. Jeannie Academy means I don't have any friends. Junaid Academy. So how would you say in French? I don't have any cake for you. And just in case you don't know, the word for cake in French is in battle is in a pad. Get top over, John. A pat got open. And so again, the pat do in speaking is very often pronounced bad. So instead of saying, June epa do get topo, Do you hear, John? A pat ghetto boom? How would you say in French? I have lots of white wine, but I don't have any red wine. Jabo cu vam blow made in a pad values Jabo could vam blow made in a pad vanhoose the word blown, which means white ends In the letter C Andi, I did say that you can pronounce the letter C on the end of words in French because it appears in the word careful. Remember that I said C r f and l or the only continents that you can pronounce on the ends of words in French Put the exception to the rule. Is this word Blam! You don't pronounce the sea. It's not Blanc, it's blood. And that's because the end makes the sea silent. So Jabo could vam blow made in a pod. 66. 3 Minute French Lesson 42g: How would you say in French? I don't have a car. You need pat What you is Yoon a part of what you and so literally it means I don't have any car. June A pad of what you or how would you say? I don't have a television in my room? Literally. I don't have any television in my room. June A pattern in a patently busy Now here's another useful phrase in French Ivic. More Avik more. It means with me Avik more So how would you say in French? I don't have any money with me you need panda was only make more Jeannie paddle more. Or how would you say I don't have the tickets with me? Maybe even more Jean EPA Leiby ever more. And so this sentence Junaid Pat late be means I don't have vertically. It's and so it's referring to specific tickets. But if you said instead is unique. Bad do be That means I don't have any tickets And so you need by Leiby. I don't have the tickets. How would you say, Do you want to go to the beach with me tomorrow? Valley view La planche of Modern I believe usually Allah Plaza. Well, how would you say, Can you pay the bill? Because I don't have my card with me. Pull ups. Who gave you Paid Hillary Soon pass scourge Obama Catholic more. 67. 3 Minute French Lesson 42h: Jihad. Elmi meant I have reserved or I have booked, so you might be able to guess what this phrase means. John A. Pat Hottovy. It means I haven't reserved or I haven't bought. So how would you say in French? I haven't booked a table, but I would like to eat here if it's possible. Measurable time on J. C. C. C In May your time on J. C. How would you say I haven't booked a table? Because it isn't very busy at the restaurant. Ginny Patters of urine Tabla baskets Need Patrick Keep Okasan, usually a patterns of Aaron Tablet basket patrons. Okposo home Here's another vervet at your Web collection. Apple Day. Apathy. I'm going to bring it tomorrow. Have a so there, Lou, which means it in this sentence becomes l apostrophe because Apple Day starts with a vowel . How would you ask? I'm not going to bring everything with me because it's too much, Jim. They pass a potato Dreckman Paschal's it whole, usually a possible state to direct more baskets a toll. 68. 3 Minute French Lesson 42i: How would you say in French? I'm going to bring lots of things to eat. Juve shoes Jesus Book shows. So Apple Day means to bring Well, if we change it a little bit we get J a party with an accent on the E on the end It still pronounced app off day. But the phrase j a party means I have brought J a party. So how would you say in French? I've brought something with me for you. J a partake in cash J a pa. Take it to shows like Mapo. Well, how would you say I've brought the wine? But I don't have any food. J a pa Taliban made in a paranoid too j a pro Taliban major. A patent or into So, Jay. So we've been looking at the past tense on we've learned so far that the past tense in French is made up of two different parts. For example, in the phrase J. Margie, which means I have eaten, we have the word J, which we called an auxiliary verb, and in English, it means I have. And then we have the word more g mosey, which means eaten, and that is a passport Izabal. But in English, we have two ways to talk about the past. The phrase J Margie can either mean I have eaten. Oh, I ate. Thankfully, in French, there is only one version. So no matter whether you want to say I have eaten or I ate in English, it's always just J Moon Jae in French. In English, the I eight version is called the Simple Past. On the I have eaten version is called the present Perfect. In French. The simple past doesn't exist. They only have the present perfect tense. It might seem a bit weird to call the past tense the present Perfect seeing as the word present doesn't mean past, but that's what it's called. So the president perfect tense is the correct grammatical name for this past tense that we're learning. So, keeping in mind that there is only one way to talk about past infringe how would you say in French? I have eaten is a mercy. How would you say I ate J Margie as well? So it's the same. How would you say you have eaten to a movie? Oh, was have emoji. You ate two AM aje or with the movie He has eaten a lot more G. He ate. She has eaten l a movie she ate and I'm Margie Pierre had eaten P S G Pierre eight p f a Muji Marie has eaten Marie Marie eight Marie 74. 3 Minute French Lesson 43: How would you say in French, we have eaten lose a war movie? We ate news apple Margie, they have eaten iso Muji they ate is on Muji. I have waited J. A. Adande. Do I waited J a fondue. You have waited. Do you have it on you? Oh, with a very at on you. You waited. You are at on you off with a told you and said the difference between the two tenses in English is very often just a lack off. The word have. And so the word have what's called the auxiliary verb. And so the simple past tense in English doesn't use the auxiliary verb. The present perfect tense does use the auxiliary verb and so in front you always have to have the auxiliary verb have whereas in English you don't always have to. So you have waited or you waited. But in French is always to out at on you. How would you say he has waited Ella at on you? He waited Ella at on you. She has waited ale at on you. She waited and it out on you. Pierre has waited. Pierre App on you. P I waited. Pierre app on you. Marie has waited mahi upon you. Marie waited Madhi at on you. We have waited news. I want that on you. We waited news of all upon you and so here the s on the end of album. If you like, you can liaise it with the A at the start of a town. Do so you can either say news ever at on do or news items up on you. How would you say they have waited? Isn't it on you or ears on that on you? So you can pronounce the T on the end off? If you like to. But you don't have to. How would you say they waited years old at on you or is on Tatonetti? 75. 3 Minute French Lesson 43: How would you say in French? I have finished is a few I finished is a feeling you have finished. Do you have any? I was You finished? Do you have any? Was that me? He has finished. He left me. He finished. He laughed at me. It was we finished? No, The coffee me they have finished is don't Feeney. They finished is often. How would you say in French? I have reserved a table. Jay has ave in tabular j. Resolving in tablet, I reserved a table Jay has elevated in tabular. I have brought Pierre with me. J a Porta Pia A bit more. I brought with me J a post ap a having more. I have for gotten J O B a. Wezi, I have finished is a funny I finished is a feeling I have lost the car JPL New level two I lost the car GPL new love What? You? I have sold the car. Jeevan Deol about you. I have learned J a pre I learned J a pre I have understood is a complete I understood j company. So in English, there are always two ways to talk about the past tense. Whereas in French you just have the one way. So whether you want to say I have eaten or I ate in French, you always just say Jay Muji 77. 3 Minute French Lesson 43a: Let's start this lesson with a quick recap of the words and phrases that we learned in the last lesson. How do you say in French? Because basket I haven't or I don't have Geneva. I don't have any. Is your name matter the time or the time to you? Don't the with me a bit more? I haven't reserved or I haven't bought. June 8 Packers help me to bring up off day I have brought J a party I haven't brought gin ape as a party. Now, in this lesson, we're going to learn a bit of grammar going to learn about the past tense. The past tense in French is fairly easy. There are two parts, and here is an example with the names for each part. J. Moore, J. J. Margie means I have eaten J. Moon Jae. The first bit J means I have on recall that an auxiliary verb, the next bit more G means eaten, and that's called the past participle ser jay Margie means I have eaten even change the word Mongie. The past participle to any passport is for you like and you change the meaning of the sentence. So J. Moore J. Means I have eaten J common day. I have ordered Jay has a V. I have reserved Jay Sean G. I have changed. You might have noticed that all the past participles end in the letter e with an accident on it. And this is something that you'll see a lot off in the past tense. So let's look a bit more at the past participle. There are two steps that you need to know. In order to form the past participle. Step one is removed the E all from the end of the village. Step two is put an E with an accent on the end. Instead, for example, Monge a means to eat well. If we remove the ER and then replace it with an E with an accent, you get more G meaning eaten. They're both pronounced the same more G on McGee, but in writing you can tell the difference. So more J with an E. R means to eat more G with an E. And an accent means eaten come one day with an e. R means to order, whereas if you take off the ER and replace it with an E with an accent. You get common D, meaning ordered, has Alvey means to reserve and has Alvey with an accent on the end means reserved. So you always change the ER on the end off any infinitive to an E with an accent in order to turn it into a past participle. 78. 3 Minute French Lesson 43b: to form the past participle in French. Firstly, you have to remove the ER from the end of the verb, and then you replace it with an E that hasn't accent on it. See if you can turn these next verbs into past participles in French, so more j means to eat. What would this be as a past participle? Well, you take off the ER and replace it with an E with an accent and you get more G meaning eaten. Passy means to spend as in to spend time. So how would you turn this into a past participle? It becomes Passy with an accent on the and this means spent as in spent time and has Alvey means to reserve. How would you turn this into a past participle? You would change the er to an E with an accent on it, and you get f SLV, which means reserved a pack a day means to bring How would you turn this into a past participle? It becomes a part day, which means brought and finally you, Billy, probably a means to forget. So what would this be as a past participle? Probably a with an accent. on the which means for gotten probably a. Now all you have to do is Port G in front of the past participle to form a sentence in the past tense. So how would you say in French? I have ordered J. Kameni. Jake Omondi, I have eaten is a Mongie Jamesy. I have reserved Jay has helped me. J L B. Now let's have a look at the auxiliary verb. So I said that G isn't always a very, very good. But instead of saying I have all the time, you can change sentence by changing the auxiliary verb. So J means I have. But we could say instead, to our to our which means you have do you or Illah means he has the past. Participle will say the same. It's just the auxiliary there that changes. And so if we said Jay Mongie means I have eaten, we could change the J 22 hour and you would get to Emoji. You have eaten or Lomong he has eaten. Instead of Ella, we could have Ella, which means she has Ella. Oh, Pierre Pierre are means Pierre has and so you can put any name in 30 p A. Because they marry. Our Marie has news at home. News at home means we have news at home. It was a with a also means you have and then ism his own means they have. So you can change the older reverb to any of these on get a different person doing the action. 79. 3 Minute French Lesson 43c: So the different auxiliary verbs in French were G to our Ella Pierre, Uh or you can change Pierre to any name. News of home was a very and is own. But you may have noticed that there are two different ways to say you have. We have to our and Mousavi. Well, this is because in French there are two different ways to say you we've already seen do quite a lot, and we've been using that one so far for everything. However, there is also another word to two is used only when you're talking toe one person whom you know very well. So if it's a friend of yours you can use to in olden English we used to have the word vow which was used with friends in French to is like vow, but for everything else you use full. So unless we're talking to one person, you know very well then use voom. In fact, rule is also used when you're talking to more than one person, regardless of whether you know them well or not. So if you're talking to one person that you know very well so a friend or a family member then you can use to. If you're talking to more than one person or you're talking to somebody you don't know very well, then you can use voodoo instead. If you were to look in a grammar book, you'll see the words formal and informal. Formal means you use it with people you don't know on informal means. You can use it with friends or family, and then we want to see the words singular. Andi Plural singular means it's one person on plural means it's more than one person. So, too, is the singular informal version off you. Could you use it with one person you know very well, whereas Vou can be the singular formal version, the plural formal version or the plural informal version. So if in doubt, I would say Use view and you won't go far wrong. But that's why we have two versions off you have in the auxiliary verbs in French to our for singular informal and then Mousavi for everything else. But you can change the auxiliary verb to any of those in that list and just put a past participle in the end. So how would you say in French? I have eaten James Woolsey. James Woolsey. How would you say you have eaten two AM Aje? Oh, was of a movie. So to Amery J when you're talking to a friend and was a Mongie for everything else. How would you say he has eaten? It's a movie she had eaten. L am Aje l emoji. 80. 3 Minute French Lesson 43d: So we've seen that you can change the auxiliary verb to any of those in that list and then just put a past participle in the end. How would you say in French, Pierre has eaten Pierre. A movie. Pierre Mosey Marie has eaten. Marry a Muji Marie. How would you say we have eaten new travel? Mosey or they have eaten is all mosey is own machine. So if you go back to the start of this video and write down a list of all the auxiliary verbs, use a cue card, and what you can do is write down the French on one side on the English on your side, and this will help you to memorize all the auxiliary verbs or you have to do then is change them and put a past participle in the end to form a sentence. Let's go back to the past participle. So far, we've learned that you need to change the ER on the end of the verb to an E with an accent to make the past participle. So, for example, we had more G spelled M a n g e r. If you take off the ER and change it to a new E with an accent. You get more G spelled m a N g e with an accent, and that means eaten. But can you remember when I said a few lessons ago that there are different types of verbs in French? There are three different types to be more specific. Andi, it is all based on what letters they end in either. E r i r r e What this means is that there are three different ways to make the past participle of a French verb. We've only let one so far. So we've seen that e r becomes e with an accent. Well, if you haven't ir verb. So there that ends in the letters I r. You take off the last two letters. So you remove the I and the R and you put just the letter I instead. If you have a very that ends in our e, well, then step one is still the same. Take off the last two letters. So you remove the R E and Step two is you replace it with the letter U. So all you have to do to turn any verb into the past participle is change the last two letters of the verb. If it ends in E. R. Then it changes to an even accent. If it ends in I Are you change it to the after I. And if it ends in our e, you change it to the letter you, for example. More J means to eat more G with an accent means eaten veneer veneer means to finish that ends in, and I are. We change it to Feeny when we get finished at dawn at Honda means to wait that ended in our e. And if we change the r E to a u you get at on do which means waited. And so there are three versions off past participles. You have verbs that end in an even accent. One of the end in the letter I and then one of that end in the letter you Mark J. Finney at on you 81. 3 Minute French Lesson 43e: We now know that to form the past participle in French it depends on whether the verb ends in an e r I, uh o r e If it ends in an e o, you change it to an e with an accent. If the last two letters are ir, you replace them with an I. And if the verb ends in an r e, you replace the Ari with a U. So how would you say in French? I have eaten James Woolsey. You have eaten. Do you Mong? Oh, Mousavi movie. He has eaten l. A Muji. She has eaten. And a movie Pierre has eaten. Pierre Marie has eaten. Marry. We have eaten news. They have eaten. Here's own Muji. I waited J at all New J at a new you waited either to our at on you, or was I ve out on you. He waited era at on you eat at on you She waited and upon you and that on you. Pierre waited Pierre upon you. Pf upon you. Marie waited marry at on you marry at on you. We waited news of on a toned You news items that on you they waited is on a toned. You is on that on you. I have finished Is the flu is it for me? You have finished to Afghani. Oh, it was a very funny He has finished. He left me. He left me. 82. 3 Minute French Lesson 43f: How would you say in French? She has finished. LF you, me Ayla Feeney, Pierre has finished. Pierre Feeney? Yeah, for me. Marie has finished Marriott Feeney, Maria Feeney. We have finished news of all. Funny. I have. Often they have finished is on Feeney is often e So now you know there are three types of IB. Yeah, I r and R e And you know how each one changes in the past. E r becomes e with an accent. Ir becomes an eye on r e becomes a you. Well, let me give you a few verbs that you can add to your vocabulary on the screen. Now you have all the infinitives off eight verbs. So we have Apple Day, which means to bring has LV to reserve Mobley A to forget pants, huh? To lose Vonta to sound at Toronto To wait Femia means to finish Andi sri Easier means to choose. And so all these verbs have got their e r i r r e on the end and we say that they are called the infinitive. So the word infinitive just means the verb that has the two letters still in the end now Let's have a go at turn them into past participles. And so we have three verbs that end in e. R. Three verbs that end in our e on day two verbs on the end that end in IR So a pack a day means to bring How would you say brought? Apathy Has lV means to reserve Won't be reserved as l V only a means to forget How would you say forgotten? Probably a with an accent on the now we have some Ari verbs. So don't forget that you change the r E to a U to form the past participle. So if paired her means to lose, how would you say lost in French pound? You held you Vondra means to sell. So how would you say sold? Vondie? Vondie Aton means to wait. What would be waited at on you at on? Do you? And now we have two verbs that end in IR And so don't forget that to change ir infinitives into a past participle, you change the I all to just a I Sophie mia means to finish what would be finished. Finney Feeney. And if sri easier means to choose would be chosen Shwe's e sri z so you can write down these eight verbs and their past participles. Andi again, If you put the French on one side of a que card and then the English on the other side, it doesn't help you to remember them or you have to do then is put an auxiliary verb in front of these and you get a sentence. So, for example, J. A party I have brought or to Afghani you have finished or he'll at. That'll do he has lost. 83. 3 Minute French Lesson 43g: How would you say in French? I have reserved a table Jay has ave in tabular Jay has ave in tablet. I have brought Pierre J a Porta Pia J about a peer. I have for gotten Jay uglier J w I have chosen Jaysh Wezi. Jaysh Wezi I have finished is a funny is a few. I have lost the car. JPL, do you laugh at you? JPL Do lab Accio I have sold the car. J von Julia Bacha is even do LaMacchia. How are you say Pierre reserved a table yesterday. Pierre has a tablet? Yeah. Yeah, I have a very in tabler year. Marie has brought some food with her. Marry a poor tailor. Know it. You have again marry about. They don't know it. You'll have a can. So remember that the word for storm in French is due. If it's a muscular now, doula. If it's a feminine noun on D Day ds if it's a plural now how would you say they have for gotten? Everything is on Mobley A To isn't totally a toe. She chose the red wine. Ls crazy live on whose a lash Brazil A man whose as I relearned. That's crazy means chosen, brought in English. There are two ways to say Choose in the past, you can say she chose or she has chosen. In French, however, there's just the one way L Ash Lazy. We'll talk more about this in another lesson. But for now, just know that no matter how you talk about something in the past in English, there's just this one way in French. So whether you say she chose or she has chosen in French, you always say a lash Rosie. 84. 3 Minute French Lesson 43h: How would you say in French you have finished now. Do you have any mental? Do you have any mental? Oh, was that momentum was a very funny man. We have lost the key news. Even pale directly. No servant Pale do likely she has sold the house. It have owned you alarmism and I've on July MSM now, although most of the waves in French follow the normal rules for changing into the past participle, there are a few verbs which do their own thing here. Some verbs we call irregular verbs. And so we've got six verbs that don't follow the rules. So normally, er, verbs you change the er to an e with an accent. For normal ir verbs, you change the i r to an I or for normal r e verbs. You change the r E to a U. But these verbs don't do that. So these six verbs are irregular. We have y which means to drink fair meaning to do or to may why means to see ponder means to take I ponder means to learn and calm Ponta means to understand. So let's have a look at how we turn these inventive into past participles Bois. Meaning to drink becomes due. Do which means drum. So, Jabe, you would be. I have drunk Fair, which means to make or do becomes Fay fe, which means made or done so to a fee. For example, would be you have made or you have done and watch why means to see on that becomes due Do which means scene, for example. News of on view means we have seen. So while becomes boo fair becomes fee and voir becomes view the next three verbs ponder upon ter and compound. All follow a similar pattern because they all end in the letters. Ponder. So I ponder means to take, and in the past it becomes pre, which means taken, for example, JP means I have taken or I took well. App pronto follows the same pattern, and so this becomes a pre so a ponder means to learn a pre means lend So J. A. Pre I have learned. Similarly, Compound also follows his pattern compound a means to understand, and in the past we get complete complete, which means understood. So Jay Compli means I understood. So that's six irregular verbs. If you write them down on a cue card. We have y becomes due fair becomes faith. Voir becomes view. Ponder becomes pre upon for a plane and complained becomes complete. 85. 3 Minute French Lesson 43i: We've just had these six irregular verbs via becomes do foul becomes faith voir becomes view Ponder becomes pre upon for a plea on compound her Complete these ribs don't follow the normal patterns. So let's practice with these to get them to stay in our memories. How would you say in French? I have Drew Zaboo shaven. I have done jfe jfe. I have seen Pierre JV Pierre J Crew Pierre I have taken J p J P. I have learned J a pre J a. Pre I have understood is a complete Jake completely. How would you say he drank too much wine? It debuted told Von in a Butoh bomb. She has done everything today LF a to B LF a two totally they saw the Eiffel Tower is on view Liked OK fella is on view laterally fail We took the car with us News of Slovakia havoc New news even pre LaMacchia havoc New. He learned French l. A pre literacy either a pre literacy so literally in French Have to say he learned the French A pre literacy She understood Michelle Very well l A completely Michelle Tribune. A complete mission tibia 86. 3 Minute French Lesson 43j: let's do a quick recap off the past tense, so to form the past tense in French, there are two steps Step one is to use on auxiliary verb, for example. J, which means I have. And then Step two is to add the past participle, for example. Mogi means eaten. And then we learned quite a few new verbs on their past participle equivalent in this lesson. So we had a pot day, which means to bring, and in the past it becomes a part day with the accent on the meaning brought only a is to forget and only A with an accent on the is forgotten Panta, it means to lose. That'll do means lost Vondra means to sell and von do means sold because Vondra ended in our e. On. Don't forget that when you have R e verbs, you change the R E to a U. So a Tonka means to wait. Onda at on you means waited. When you have ir verbs, they become I on the and instead Sophie, Near means to finish you replace the i R with I and you get Finney, which means Finished Shwe's Year means to choose Onda Shwe's e means chosen. And then we learned the auxiliary verbs that you can put in front of these past participles . J means I have do our means. You have when you're talking to one person, you know very well Ella is he has Ella means she has Pierre, uh, is PS news at home we have with a you have when you're talking to more than one person or somebody you don't know very well. His own means they have. And so, just to recap, to form a past participle with er verbs, you change the er to an E with an accent to turn ir verbs into the past participle. You change the i R two letter I on to turn ari verbs into past participles. You replace the R E with a U. And then we had six irregular verbs. Why means to drink? And that becomes do in the past and it means groom. And so it doesn't follow the normal rule fair means to do or to make. And in the past, that becomes fee, which means done or made, and you can place any orders the reverb in front of this to get a sentence. So J fee I made. Do you have fee you made or you did? Then the VEB wa means to see in the past it becomes view, which means scene. And then we had three verbs that follow a similar pattern. Pond, huh? Meaning to take in the past becomes plea, which means taken upon her means to learn. And the past participle of a ponder is a pre which means learned and then compound her means to understand on the past participle of this web is completely, which means understood. 87. 3 Minute French Lesson 43k: it's time now to practice what we've learned in this lesson. How do you say in French? Pierre is tired because he drank too much wine. Pierre a fatty, A pass. Caleb, you told the van Apiary fatty passkey. LaBute. We have sold the car because it was too expensive. News of a bond. You have a teacher, Pascal. It Etosha news of unwanted Pascal it Etosha. Now for this one, you might have said Bhaskar City torch share rather than past Elliott Etosha. Now in French, when you're referring to an object, the object is always masculine or feminine. And here we've got love watching, which is the car, and it's feminine. Therefore, whenever you say it on your referring to a specific object, you have to think is the object masculine or feminine? So when you say we have sold the car because it was too expensive in French, What you would say instead is we have sold the car because she was too expensive. So all feminine objects are referred to as she and all masculine objects are referred to as he. So she was too expensive. L idiot or share, even though we're referring to a car in French. You still called the car? She because it's feminine. If you said however city tor share, you'll still be understood. So don't worry. Too much news. Even gondola voucher Basque elated horse share How would you say in French? I waited here yesterday J upon new C Yeah, J upon. A bottle of red wine is eight euros. 50 91. 3 Minute French Lesson 44: Now, this is just another quick half lesson to talk about another little problem that exists in English but not in French. The negative past tense. So hopefully you've now grasped how to talk about the past tense in the negative form in French, for example. In this phrase Janay Palmer G, which means I haven't eaten, we have you napalm, which is the negative auxiliary verb. And then more G is just the past participle. The problem arises when in English you realize that you have two ways to talk about the past In the negative form. Jeunet Pamela G. Infringe could be translated into English either as I haven't eaten or I didn't eat. Thankfully, in French, there is only one version is unique. But Mongie therefore, whether you want to say I haven't eaten or I didn't eat, it's always the same in French. All you have to do is make the auxiliary verb negative and then put the past participle on the end. So how do you say in French? I haven't eaten the napalm. Oh, gee, I didn't eat is in a bad movie You haven't eaten between Obama G Oh, gee, you didn't eat tune Obama G Oh, I am Aje. He hasn't eaten in a family. He didn't eat in the movie. She hasn't eaten a Napa McGee. She did, indeed. In apology. Pierre hasn't eaten. Pierre Pierre didn't eat Pierre Napa. Muji Marie hasn't eaten Marina Emoji. Marie did indeed. Marry. You need pass it on to you. I didn't wait. June a pass up on you. You haven't waited either. Tuna product on you. Oh, wannabe, pass it on you. You didn't wait. Do not pass it on to you. You never pass it on to you. He hasn't waited in the past. It on you. He didn't wait in the past. It on you. She hasn't waited in the past. It on you. She didn't wait and I pass it on you. Pia hasn't waited. Pierre. Not on you, P. I didn't wait. Pierre, not pass it on you. Marie hasn't waited. Marina Marie didn't wait. Marry you? We haven't waited. No. Never pass it on to you. We didn't wait. No, never. They haven't waited in on. Pass it on to you. They didn't wait, you know. Pass it on you 93. 3 Minute French Lesson 44: How would you say in French? I haven't finished Khalfani. I didn't finish in a path for me. You haven't finished Gina Khalfani? Oh, you never Khalfani! You didn't finish juniper Feeney! Oh, we have a path for me. He hasn't finished in the Khalfani. He didn't finish in a puffin e. She hasn't finished in Napa. Feeney, she didn't finish and the Pierre hasn't finished. Pierre P. I didn't finish Pierre Napa. Marie hasn't finished. Marina Marie didn't finish. Marina, we haven't finished Knaven path Feeney, We didn't finish new novel Pechiney. They haven't finished in a path. Feeney, they didn't finish in a path. Feeney, how would you say I haven't reserved a table? John A Powell has a very in tabular. I didn't reserve a table. Juniper has ave in tablet. I haven't brought Pierre with me. June a Plaza Pate. Pia More. I didn't bring Pierre with me. June A possible Tapia more 94. 3 Minute French Lesson 44: How would you say in French? I haven't for gotten Jeunet. Possibly I didn't forget Gin a passably I haven't chosen in a posh lazy I didn't choose is in a posh lazy I haven't finished. John a Pat Feeney. I didn't finish in a path. Feeney. I haven't lost the car. Jeannie propelled you'll about you. I didn't lose the car. You need PayPal. Do live at you. I haven't sold the car. She's in a Pavon You love? What? You I didn't sell the car. Jenny Pavon. I haven't drunk Jenny Pabu. I didn't drink Johnny Baboon. I haven't done Johnny Puffy. I didn't do Johnny Puffy. I haven't seen Pierre Jenny Pav Apia. I didn't see Pierre Junior VPs. I haven't taken in a papery. I didn't take June a peppery I haven't learned June 8. I didn't learn June 8th I haven't understood is in a pack. Completely. I didn't understand is you need back completely. So in English, there are always two ways to talk about the past tense in a negative fashion. One way has I haven't and the other way has I didn't So I haven't understood or I didn't understand. In French, however, is always juniper And then the past participle June a pack completely 95. 3 Minute French Lesson 44a: let's start this lesson with a quick recap of the words and phrases that we learned in the last lesson. How do you say in French to bring Andi brought about they about the to forget and for gotten earlier only A to lose and lost pants Huh? Bell do to sell and sold Vondra Bond you to wait and waited at dawn at on do you to finish Onda finished Femia and Finney to choose and chosen Shazia schweddy to drink drunk y but you to do or to make and don or made fair fee to see on scene wife you to take taken ponds to land Land Pondel Aptly Do you understand? And understood Compound complete. How do you say I have J You have? Do you? Uh, Vizzavi? He has una she has Ella. Pierre has pf huh? We have news at home. They have is, um 96. 3 Minute French Lesson 44b: in this lesson, we're add a little bit extra to the past tense, the negative past tense. In the last lesson, we learned how the past tense was made up off to parts in French, for example, the phrase J Muji is made up off the auxiliary verb g, which means I have on the past participle, more G meaning eaten. If you want to say that you haven't eaten in French or you have to do is change the auxiliary verb slightly to make it negative. Saroj Moon jae means I have eaten gin. A pap Muji means I haven't eaten. And so it's made up off juniper, which is the negative auxiliary verb. And then Mongie, which is the past participle, the same passport Izabal that was in the normal past tense. So June a pa means I haven't. Therefore how would you say in French? I haven't ordered John a Pat Gommendy Jeunet Paco Monday I haven't eaten Janay Palmer G Junaid, Pamela G. I haven't reserved John A Pat Salvi June a part LV. Can you remember all the different versions off the auxiliary webs from the last lesson we had J meaning I have Chua meaning you have. You are, Which means he has Ella. Means she has pf uh means Pierre has news at home. Means we have Mousavi was do the way to say that you have and is, um means they have Well, as you've already seen to change, I have to I haven't infringe you Simply put an end apostrophe in front of the a part Onda a part on the end. So J becomes juniper. I have becomes I haven't You can do the same to change any of the auxiliaries into their negative versions. For example, are means he has and you'll Napa means he hasn't. So you have to do is put an end apostrophe in front of the have or has part and then a part on the end of its A little Napa means he hasn't. So how would you say he hasn't ordered in the back? Omondi even that back on Monday. He hasn't eaten in a pot. Muji he hasn't reserved even at back of l V in a pot Has MV 97. 3 Minute French Lesson 44c: Let's have a look at all the auxiliary verbs in their negative version. So Jay means I have in a pot means I haven't que, uh, becomes to Napa. Which means you haven't Ilya means he has, and that becomes enough. Meaning he hasn't. Similarly Ella means she has on d l. Napa means she hasn't, Pierre, huh means Pierre has. And all you have to do again. It just put n apostrophe in front of the are on the word power on the end. And you get Pierre Napa, meaning Pierre hasn't news. Aven means we have. And new Navin, pa means we haven't becomes Vujanovic, which means you haven't and is only means they have so in on par means they haven't. Just one quick thing to note is that when you have your zone meaning they have the s on the end of eel, which means they is pronounced because the next word starts with a vowel. And so you liaise the s with the O. And it sounds like a zit is down. But then when you make it negative, the first letter of the next word is not a vow anymore. But the letter n instead. And so the s current liaised with the end. So you can't say years number. I have to say instead in number so you don't pronounce the s in the negative. So how would you say in French? I haven't eaten is in a Pamela G. How would you say you haven't eaten? Tina Palmer G Oh, Voinovich Obama. Gee, depending on whether you're talking to one person or two people or if you want to be formal or informal, how would you say he hasn't eaten in ophthalmology? She hasn't eaten in the in the movie. Pierre hasn't eaten Pierre ps Napa Muji Marie hasn't eaten mafi marry. 98. 3 Minute French Lesson 44d: How would you say in French? We haven't eaten? No. Never. McGee. They haven't eaten in Tampa. Muji In ophthalmology. How would you say I haven't waited? John A Pat, June 8. You haven't waited doing that, but not on you. I will not be passed out on you. He hasn't waited. You're not. Pass it on to you. Even a pass it on you. She hasn't waited in the past. It on you. And now pass it on you. Pia hasn't waited, Pierre. Not on you, Pierre. Not on you. Marie hasn't waited. Marina, pass it on. You marry, We haven't waited. You don't have a pass it on you, Nunavut. Pass it on you. They haven't waited, you know. Pass it on to you. Here. Non. Pass it on you. I haven't finished gin. A path for me. Gin epiphany. You haven't finished. Gina Khalfani. Oh, honey, he hasn't finished in the past for me in a path for me. She hasn't finished a Not for me in a path. So you notice how the past participle Feeney is the same. Whether it's positive or negative. The only bit that you change is the auxiliary verb. So in the positive. We had a laugh. Any means she has finished. And in the negative, the APP becomes Napa in Napa. Feeney she hasn't finished. 99. 3 Minute French Lesson 44e: How would you say in French? Pierre hasn't finished. Pierre, Not me. Piana. Khalfani Marie hasn't finished. Marry me. Marry Napa. Feeney, we haven't finished new novel Pechiney una bomb Pechiney They haven't finished in on Palffy . Me, your number, Feeney. So in this lesson, we've learned how to turn the past tense in French. Negative or you have to do is take the auxiliary verb. Put an end apostrophe in front of the half part on the word power afterwards. So I haven't is Geneva. You haven't can either. Be June Oppa. If you're speaking to one person informally off everybody else, it's Vunibaka. He hasn't is you Napa? She hasn't. L Napa. Pierre hasn't Pierre Napa on you comport any name instead of Pierre Mathey. Napa means Marie hasn't. We haven't is noona Bamba, and then they haven't. Is your number we have to do then is put the past participle on the end. So if you look at your number means they haven't even say in on Pamela G. Which means they haven't eaten. You know, im pass it on to you. They haven't waited in non pas. Fini. They haven't finished or any past participle 100. 3 Minute French Lesson 44f: it's time now to practice what we've learned in this lesson. How do you say in French? I haven't finished everything juniper Feeney to in a path in it too. He hasn't seen Marie today in that view. Material Jodi, In a POV, you marry your jewelry. Pierre hasn't eaten much today because he is ill on the word for much in French is the same as the word for a lot which is Boco pf Napa Moon Jabo Cordiality passkey Malad PM that we they haven't brought any wine in on pass up off in on possible state driven. So the word for any when it's and negative any so they haven't bought any means they have not brought any which is negative is just do in Mombasa port do van And so you still have the patent do which means not any. So they have brought not any wine pad duvan. But you just put the word apart day in between, you know, pass up off. Devon, how would you say we haven't seen this film is very good. No, never Improv used to film Say travel Knaven Pat views a film said tribal You haven't drunk the coffee. Gina Tabula Kathy. Very popular coffee. He hasn't made a reservation in a puffy, you know, has a restaurant in a perfect one. Has a costume. She hasn't booked a table for tomorrow in the past. Has a way in tablet for the mom in a power has a entire Laporta. Mom, they haven't learned English, you know. Pretty lonely, you know, Very lonely. Marie hasn't sold the car. Martina Pavon about you marry Napa. 101. 3 Minute French Lesson 44g: Now, let's do some reverse translations. What do these French sentences mean in English, Johnny? Padma Jabo could not be passed. Sweet. Okay, Janay Palmer J could know it. Or do we passed registry Tight octopi. I haven't eaten much food today because I'm very busy. Oh, I haven't eaten a lot of food today because I'm very busy. So the word Baku in French can either mean much or a lot off in a park. Beautiful. In a pub you develop. He hasn't drunk any wine. June a pash. Lazy May Jim. Servant Whose Johnny Cash Lazy May Jim Survival, whose I haven't chosen. But I like this red wine in a popular what you any lower in a popular vote? You Laila. Now this sentence could mean two things if you just look at it word for word. It means she hasn't taken the car. She is there, but the second she is actually referring to love watching. Remember how I said that all noun in French are masculine or feminine on in French, you always refer to now owns as either he or she. So you always refer to a car as she. And so this sentence could also mean she hasn't taken the car. It's there on the L on the end, Leela, which literally means she is there, is referring to the car. So in English instead of saying she is there would say it is there in a popular watcher, Leela. She hasn't taken the car. It's there. Pierre Napa. Completely, Pierre. Not completely. Pierre hasn't understood. June. A papal delivered. You need propel. New love. What? You I haven't lost the car. Jeunet. Possibly Ayman. Passport. May Maybe Ginny. Possibly a man. Passport, major. Napalm, maybe A. I haven't forgotten my passport, but I don't have my tickets in a perfect toe. Mahi in a perfect to Maria Phibro. Cool. He hasn't done everything. Marie did a lot.
