Milan was born in Pozarevac, Serbia in 1979. From an very early age he got interested in drawing comics, painting nature and inventing games that he could than play with his brother and sister. He graduated on University of Fine and Applied Arts in Belgrade in 2003.

He works predominantly in the medium of traditional painting, but his art includes digital illustrations and book covers. He has had solo and group shows in Belgrade at Progress Gallery, National Gallery in Pozarevac, "In the face labyrinth" exhibition in Amsterdam at Arps and Co Gallery and many more. Also, he is a Top level designer at 99Design platform where he made various book cover and illustrations for publishers and clients across the world.

1. Class introduction: Hello everyone and welcome to another training exercises class. My name's Milan. And if you're not familiar with my work, I have mod n classes here on skill share, dedicated to improving your drawing and painting skills. Today, we are going to go about drawing. You can learn anatomy. So if you have a basic understanding of drawing, but still struggle when it comes to join a human figure. This just might be the right class for you. Here will go over three main views of the human body. And for each of these youth, make four separate drawings, which makes 12 drawings on the tire of this class. The goal of this class is that by the end of your project, you'll be able to make 20-25 minutes drawings with confidence and be certain that each part that you draw is in its proper place. To be able to do that. First, familiarize yourself with the basic muscle and bone structure and see how these structures and bones and muscles affect so-called surface trying to get things straight. There'll be a lot of work involved and in that process and mistakes happen. But I urge you in based these mistakes and learn from them just as I have. And then go and make another drawing and then another and then another throw enough time and enough mistakes made, you'll get better. And once you get able to recognize this next Takes by yourself, you'll have enough confidence to quit. Trying of human figure with confidence of true craftsman will go over just the basic and the main muscle groups and human body and the bonds that hold them together. As that will be enough to create these 20-25 minutes drawings. Finally, as a bonus feature of this class, you'll see me use different drawing tools and how they're used in 20-25 minutes joint. That's it for now. I hope you find this topic and this presentation interesting enough to join them in class. So sharpen pencils and let's start right. 2. Few tips before we start: Thank you for joining the class and I hope you'll enjoy what they've prepared for it. But before we go into detail and talk about the anatomy of human figures, see what exercises I prepared for you. I have a few tips that I think that you should consider and think about before going further. I think it would help not just for an anatomical drawing, but it will be helpful for any type of work or drying, especially when you're starting off and want to improve on your skills. First, use cheap. Because if you have a ton of tree paper and you can use it, then you don't feel stressed about it and what's going to come out to it. And that the purpose of these exercises, he's just let things go on paper. Exercise your hand exercise, your movement, and all other things will come out of it. Second can thing that I would like to recommend is to start with easy stuff. Don't go too much into details and stuff like that. And you've seen that in doing this class as well. Don't go over to muscle eight each muscle, each crevice or muscle or bone structure. We go abroad and then we'll dive into details. So start simple and then move on from that. If you are not trying anatomy, you should maybe consider starting, drying, drying off some rocks, then draws some trees. Maybe some simple animal drawings and stuff like that. But we'll talk about that more. Some other classes. For now, let's stick to big, broad masses and then into details. Next step, next step that I wanted to share with you is to start loose, but in control, make your drawings, pre, Don, home, pencil like tail and then go into details and stuff like that, like that. It is connected with the previous tip. So try to be loose in your drawing and try to have those hand, But attaining still stands self-control photo. Think about your lines. Make. Another thing is to consider each not do much of your age. You will see me make arrangements with these. That is, when just because I wanted to show you the clear picture of that drying, it can see all the layers that are important. Can use kneaded eraser, that's like that. Well, you use for these instances. Another good tip that I would recommend is to fill your working space, your areas maybe woes bid your own drawings from before you started doing some classes, classes, exercises and drying during and all other stuff. Similar way that you can see here. That way you all can see your progress. What are you making, right? And what are your mistakes? So it is always been official to have those things as a reminder for motivation and as a learning tool because looking at drawings that are from bike cat For a year ago and trying to make now, you can clearly see if you compare them and they are relatively near to one another. You can see if you're improving and in what areas that need improvement. Finally, the most important tip of all is to practice, practice, practice, and do some more practice. Yes, I do some more practice. So let is important. If you want to get better at something, talent is not obligatory. Working on your skills is. So talented doesn't provide you with all the stuff that it can be helpful, but sometimes it can also be damaging. So remember to always practice and work on your skills. And that is more important than, I think any other talent or things like that that you think that you might have. So that's it for all the tapes that I wanted to show you at this point. 3. Class overview and materials: For this class, and we'll go over three main views of the human body. That is psi. Do you go about frontier and backfill? And you'll see make L new CMI, make four different drawings for each of these. And that will help, I think, in order to see how the human figure looks. From the surface. Prospective. And simple rig figured stick figure drawing. Something that we talked about in my previous class, but using stick figure, figure drawing, bone structure. And finally, metal. Like you see, I've covered specific muscle groups, can better see them and understand when they are. Why is that important purpose of doing this exercise? Well, in my opinion, if you make work like that exercise and try to remember where all these things, muscle groups, bones, figure drawing match to one another. You'll have a better understanding of the overall anatomy of the human drying. And you'll then be able to move on to Sean and see how you can then understand anatomy of certain particular parts of the human body, like lens, torso, head, and stuff like that. So this is basic anatomical drawing course and we will go over the basic shapes. That is, in my opinion, the best way to start that anatomy is to go over the entire figure, see how each of the muscle groups are connected to each other and how, what are the bonds that hold these muscles? Because not enough just to see the muscles or just to see the bones and just have the rig drawing or just have surface join. Think. Combining all these joins together and understanding how they relate to each other gives us the best possible understanding of our human Anatomy. And missed in this phase of learning. Also semi, using different materials in this class out using erasers, even if I said, don't erases tips. But if you have to, then use erasers as a drawing material. So let me draw with charcoal, this charcoal pencil. Technical, mechanical pencils. These lovely Denise, mostly microns. And versus this one is I think by Japanese company until and of course, I don't know where I put them. Ordinary pencils. And even in some instances, I'll use these blenders for achieving certain effects. So besides talking and learning about anatomy will be also a thing. May use different drying materials in different papers, different paper sizes for some science. And I'll be using big papers. This sketch books and stuff like that. Maybe one advice that I forgot is to use Notebook. And by that, it was seen that in some of my previous lysis vision, not book, all your drawings will be on none place. Been by. My advice would be some fancy expensive ones. You can use this simple. I use this for lots of things, but here you see me make drawings based on the book. There are soldiers earlier. So in this case, I was drawing stuff without erasing straight markers and different parts, hence loans. And that's where worms, some muscles of the arms. And again, bones because you can never have enough of bombs. And there are some very interesting to draw. So consider that as well. That's it for this, that's it for this part of it. And in the next videos, we'll talk about those three views. Side you backfill and frontally. 4. Side view exercises: Finally, we are starting with the first exercise and we're gonna see human figure from a site will create four exercises, like I said, for drawing. And as you see, I'll show you how to use those drawings on different papers. You'll see live demos of these drawings. And you'll see the materials using ordinary pencils like these ones. I'm going to use some rubbers, racers. And for 100 drawings, I'll be using even the charcoal. So you can see not just how I go about those atomical drawings, but also how different materials. So we'll be also talking about Postel proofs. And as this is a basic Tommy drying class, we will not go through each muscle dissected. This class, I think it's better to stay on the big masses. And then in some future glasses go into details. It. So it's just like when you're drawing, you make broad shapes and then you go into details. So this is basically the same approach where I'll show you how you can go with broad masses of the human anatomy. And then in future classes go more into depth. So without further ado, let's look at these four drinks. Explain them a little bit more, and then look at lambdas. So for this first drawing, let's limit yourself or like 20 to 25 minutes and create a drawing that doesn't have too much details, just the main lines and the proportions of each of the parts of the human body. You can use various resources and some of them you can find on this glass About section or other sections of this course like, like the project section. So start working with this one. Then. Make another drawing. Like I see, I've been using all different papers on different sides of papers, but you could do it in your notebook or maybe that way you'll keep all your images on one place just to show you a diversity and how you can use that. Use different pencils, different drying materials, and different surfaces that you can draw on. Start. Head, then go to other parts. No details. Just the main joints of the human body and where should each of them be placed and how they all connect to each other? And here you can see the main bones that we should be concerned. This is a side view, like I said. And here we have at least a little glands of the clavicle bone and the scapula. They have just the basic look at. The ribs are the ribcage. They have. Vertical column here, I didn't. For the sake of speed, this is like 20 minutes or less drawing. And just the main look of the vertical column. I have pelvis girdle. We have this other bones that form that thing. And we have femur, Little bit of Patel 3B here, and fibula. Of course, the skull and four arms. We have humors here. And we have radius and ulna, two bones that make up the, the lower part of the arm. And finally, we have but little scene, carpels, metacarpals and phalanx. And those are the little parts that form the human hand. And finally, we have here our muscles in order to memorize them and think about them separately. I suggest you color them. So here we have and the basic drawing and I color coded some muscle groups that you can then easily easier recognize. So here we have deltoid biceps, triceps behind and we have muscles of the 4em. You don't have to know exactly all for this stage, Latin names of all these muscles just to recognize them. And that will help you in your drawings. I've just made a quick call code them. Then if we go further, they have certain muscles here just marked with yellow for the muscles of the human head, neck muscles, muscles of the upper back, muscles of the lower back. Those little group of muscles behind is, are called the infraspinatus. If I'm quoting correctly, then you have the middle back on the parts of the muscles that belong to the middle back. Then I didn't color these ones here are rarely seen from this view. Muscles of the lower back. And also they have here muscles that are chest muscles. Then had the side apps here, and the abdominal muscles. Now, four legs behind. They have infamous gluteus maximus, then quadriceps. And this darker color, we have our hamstring group and you will see it better. View from backside. The calf muscles are in yellow. And again, we have these colored in blue, that is tibialis anterior, the muscles that you will see the best when we take a look at the frontal view of the muscle trying. So that's basically it. You can use also these is trying in your exercise and now we'll take a look at a sped up videos of all four drawings. I hope it will be beneficial that you can start on your own drawings. 5. Side view surface and stick figure dra: Welcome to this part of our class. Well, you see me draw exercises that I recommended in the previous videos and we'll start with the surface drawing. But as you see, each time I started drawing, I'm starting to make Foundation for this. I start with the simple form of the head and then for the hands, for the arms actually. And finally started drawing here the shape for the ribcage. Of course, after that, the spine and finally the palace. These drawings and these initial steps are very important and help us, help me determine where our other parts. So going from, like I said earlier, every time going for bigger shapes to smaller ones, pencil that I'm using is hard won, so it can be easily erased and is very great for start. So here I made a short quick drawing of the human hand, had then went to arms, going just through general saves. All the details that are important will be added later. Now, I'm going through hands. You see, I don't concentrate just on one part. I whenever I tried to go all over the shape and slowly building that foundation. So now I'm working on the torso, the legs, hands, and trying to simultaneously build up the entire drawing. This drawing is of course sped up so you don't have to waste the entire time, vices like 25-30 minutes. So if you didn't have to watch me for all that time, this is a little bit sped up. So let's move on. And here I'm working on the hands. And finally, when that's done, I'll be using softer pencil and adding First, let's say layer of details here. Adding lines that will help me get all the shapes and muscles in that first stage. Showing where should I add details later on? Here? Working on the butt and then the legs. And you can see me changing the position of the way I'm holding the pencils. And that all depends what I'm trying to do. And that is very important. Silicon also look at that, that change of the way that hold the pencil. It's important and that will make you feel better and thus help you the way to draw things. So think about how do you hold the pencil and what do you try to achieve for the longer lines? Is1 kind of grip. And for short-term, I use different one, which one will use will depend on the way that you learn to hold the pencil. Now, amounting to feet and adding fingers. And then after that, I'm going through hands on like you see here. I'm adding first. Parts on the fingers and then joined. Here, I made a mistake. And like I said earlier, mistakes happen and I think I made the thumb on the hand too short. But that what's happens when you draw it. So it's always better to embrace the mistakes. Know about them, and then move on. So that's what I just did. And now with software pencil and making a little bit of outlines on the shape. Maybe now making some shadows and of course, some eraser to erase all those construction lines. And then continue to draw. Here, I'm adding some more structure to the muscles. So though both legs and the arms adding additional details, using six people, if I'm correct. And finally, I'm going to use a kneaded eraser to further us like set. Be very gentle with your eraser or how you're going to use it. And think about what you're going to achieve by using the raise. In this case, it wants to get cleaner drawing for you to see. So I decided to erase more than I would. Usually. This is the fun step, the racing using the pencil. Here, we have that stick figure drawing, but here I also decided to make it more complex. So I started instead of circle shape, that is like a skull and give more skeletal feeling to that stick figure. After that, going to the arms and the ribcage. And like you see, I made circles that represent the main joints of the human. And then we're going to pelvis. And I made a quick drawing of how they look like from the profile. And after that, we have drawing that will help lines, that will help us determine the length of the legs. Of course, when I'm doing this kind of drawing, you see me in the hands and the feet. I like to show all the digits and all the parts of the hands and the feet that is here. So I marked them. So that will be beneficial to understand all the parts or the little bones that make that hand, that all the digits and all those carpels, metacarpals that are talked about in the previous videos. And that is basically it. And after this joint will go on to the second one. 6. Side view skeletal drawing: So after the surface and stick figure drawing, we're at of course, drawing that will show the bones, skeleton, skeleton drawing. And like you said before, I'm starting with the pencil with heartland inside, so the marks are fairly gray, so that will be helpful for late. Also, the pressure that applying this pencil and the destroy is very light so lines can be easily erased if needed. So this is the basic shape with broader shapes of the human skull. And then moving to other parts. This here the clavicle and the, or the shoulder blade is first. And then I'm going to bones of the arms, that is the upper, the humerus that I'm drawing right now. And after that, you see me draw Patel and you will see that later. Why? After that, we'll have our ribcage. And since this is introductory class for the human anatomy, it will not go in details. Trust to mark all the important parts and we are all the rib cages are soon to have distance between them. How many do we have and stuff like that. And that is exactly what I'm doing right now. As you see me draw the shape and then you see me draw that in half and then add additional lines. Don't go from start. Just draw. If you want to have ribs, make it in the center, and then add others. Here. I'm already at pelvis and you'll see me draw a little bit more details. Now adding femur. And like you see, this is the reason why I first picked up because they wanted to know how and where to connect each part of the bone of the skeleton. So after that is done, I'm going to the upper parts of the hand and drawing o other bones and now going two fingers and other parts. Also, those are very little bones. So in this case, at a fair amount of details not going too much, but it's important to notice where we are the main positions of the poems that make up the hand. So like in previous cases, go from smaller, from bigger to smaller. See how long are these parts of the human skeleton are? And each Next one is always smaller than the previous one. After that is done, going to the bones that make up the lower parts of the legs, that is tibia and fibula. And finally, the feet. So like sad about the ribcage. This is introductory class for human anatomy. So all the bonds that you simply draw a simpler version. So just to know where they are. Again, after that is done, you see me here. I transferred from using pencil to using a brush pen. And this is a Pinto brush pen, do really like to use. And when you doing with this pen, you can have various lines. And when you draw it with this material, you remember that your hand is moving across the paper in it's touching the paper and that is determining the amount of pressure that will give your stroke. So think about that when using this pencil. Very fun to use. In this case, I used it after I made a drawing with pencils, but you can use it from the start. Also, that is a good way to exercise drawing. Because when you using this brush pen from the start, you can improve on your work because then there is no mistakes you have. You have to be much more careful when you drawing from the start with this two and lexeme here. I'm using that material to add other details that previously went through with pencil and get us to the hand and stuff like that. So after we've done that, we'll move on to the head, to multiple bones that make up the head. And that's basically it. Now that we're finished with skeletal drawing, we'll move on to the next. 7. Side view muscle drawing: After all that, it's time for the muscle drawing. And in this case here, you see me drawing with the charcoal. So let's start with that. And why I'm using charcoal for this one is when you're using the truck cost specially for this, lets say a small-scale drawing. You will go less into details and get just the overall message because the line is thicker and you can concentrate mostly on the bigger shapes. So like you see me here, using the grip that is closer to to the tip of the pencil or the charcoal and moving the paper on. So that will help me in my work and now working on the overall shapes of the entire figure. Since we've already done the drawings for skeleton and for the surface and the stick figure drawing, it's quicker and much more easier to do this part. Again, I'm going through hands. And like she also, This video is sped up a bit so you don't have to waste all the time for watching me drawing in the Real, real-time. Now I'm back. Drawing the muscles of the head just to show where all the main muscle groups are now working on the deltoid and then moving on to other parts. And you can see me here. I'm just adding the mean muscle groups because then you will have the time to go and details. But like I said, it's always important to have those big masses. And I'm having a little bit of trouble here because I forgot that camera wasn't filming this parts and little bit of camera, but I hope was soon move the camera a bit further up so you can see all gov drawn so far. Until then, I'll continue to, to add other lines. Here you see me hold this charcoal holder little bit further away from the tip so the lines are longer. There have less control but I like holding it like that in this part of the drawing. So trying to use as few strokes as possible, but still having all the line work that I need in this step in this area are decides on drawing foul. You notice that the papers of camera and you see the proxies that I made in that part. And now it's time for slightly using the kneaded eraser when it comes to races for choco. Kneaded eraser is the best choice. Now, I'm using the pencils Chaco in parcel that you see me here. I'm using some software, charcoal, and of course we have hairspray and I like to use sometimes when I'm working with charcoal, just fix it on paper. So my handmaidens much, too much. Now, the hand when I'm making these drawings, is closer to the tip of the pencil. And that gives me more control. When I'm drawing. Depending on the scale that you're drawing, you will use different grip for the bigger scale drawings. It is recommended that at least that's what I recommend to hold the pencil a little bit further and make your scalpel, the tick of your pencil a little bit sharper. Here. I'm adding other details. Basically just more important, outlining the entire drawing, end, differentiating different muscles or different muscle groups. So, so to say, not going through individual strains of muscles, but just so you can differentiate all those random switching back and forth with these two pencils. This one is a little bit harder and the previous one was softer. And again, you can see the tongue using the pencil in the way that it goes on the strokes are going along the pencil and that is why I'm holding the pencil the way that I am. So it is very beneficial for your work to practice. The way you hold your pencil and the grip that you using. Again, here, I'm using for the details. It very closely, very closely to the tip of the pencil. And that gives me additional control over the line because the strokes that are making are fairly short. Again, for the head. Additional drawings and that's basically it for this exercise. And now we can move to other exercises and hope you have fun. There. 9. Back view surface and stick figure dra: So in this case here, we're going to start with an F pencil. And if you don't know, that's the pencil and burn talk about hardness or the pencil that's between the H pencils, which are hard. Pencils can be pencils that are soft and that are made for drawing. So this is somewhere in between. And by using this pencil, I wanted to make lines that will be quickly erased. So yellow stocking, already done some drawing, preliminary drawing n, like you see me here, that will be the backside of the human figure. And I started again with the quick sketch or stick figure drawing that I added in first place and then go about it with lots of lines. And now that I've done that preliminary drawing, or the first pass of that drawing, I started to add a little bit more details and overall form. So I'm using, in this case a softer pencil. That's in this case be the toy I think that I was using and adding the outer elements, or let's say a silhouette of this figure. And let me see. I talked about earlier in previous videos that the pose is that the figure is leaning or relying on one, on one leg and the other one is reclining. So that way we have a tilt of the head that is going in one direction, and shoulders in the other, and hips are than in the contrasting position. That is, let's must let say a stance that is more relaxed than if it was standing with both feet firmly on the ground. And if we talk about art history, we've seen first used in Greece and they made that first trying N. Now that we've done with that, I mean, that matters looking son, just to remind me and that is let's say when you're exercising a good way to show the direction of light, it can be just an arrow or something else that will let say, remind you where is the light source, where it is. So you can know where the shadows should be. So they can just say, in this case here, I can clearly understand that the light is going from up and from the left side. That is one good way when you're talking about exercising. So you don't have to do it. But let's say it's a good reminder when we are doing now that the first pass of shading or hedging and is done, I go to crosshatching and adding additional lines for now not smudging anything. I'm using a softer 4B pencil and adding some deeper shadows. When I'm doing this, the pressure is same. But I'm using a, using the harder pressure. I'm just using the pencil that is softer and that can make vendors can give more, more to the surface of the paper so I can add more shadow. So for now there's no smudging. And I'm talking about that in this case because I'll be shortly showing you how amusing that blender material that I use to make the shadows little bit smarter. Also, when I'm doing that, I'm also looking and thinking if the shadow is on that side, then the line thickness should be thicker on the side that is opposite to the light source. So you can see me do that now. So thinner lines, the ones that will be closer to the source of the light, ethical lines will be on the opposite side. And like I said, now, I'm using that tool. And since there are a lot of lines that have previously made, it's relatively easy to go and add those things. So don't rush in when you using some kind of blending material. First, make enough lines and do lots of hatching and craft agent to do it. Another total, like you see me here, is the eraser in pencil that you can use for some effects. But like I said earlier, be careful when you are using it can racer and think about why are using it. So it has to have some sort of idea behind that and what you're trying to draw and how you're finished result you plan to have. Now I'm back with even softer pencil now it's seven beer think. And after that is done, is a quick show administration of the stick figure drawing. And I'm using again, trying on one leg, a stick figure that has the contrapposto position. Like you see, there are different directions of the pelvis and the shoulder. So we can show that this figure is relying on one leg and it's not firmly standing on the ground with both feet, shoulder blades. Just just to add some details and show you how you can do it fairly quickly. And again, if you want, you can use softer pencil and add all the details. This part is still important because it will help you when you go in detail, zoom know where each of these elements are. 10. Back view skeletal drawing: Okay, now that we have done the surface and stick figure drawing, let's move on to bones and see our guns and we see from the back sight. And like in the previous case, I am using the ordinary drawing and starting with the stick figure. That's probably the basic thing that we will use each time. Now when you feel more comfortable, you can, of course, move on and try to do it without preparatory or construction lines. And this video is a little bit slower and more to the speed that, that I'm actually drawing the thing, it's actually the real speeds I'm trying. So I wanted to show you some of the drawings that have the confessor and of course some drawings that more in the natural kind of speed. So in this case I'm using the tactical pencil just to, in this case, have spine and other elements of the drawing. And I'll move into pelvis. I've just created the shoulder blade and after that spine and finally to the pelvis. And this is female figure. So there is a difference between policemen and talking about for humans in the male and the female skeleton. And in this case, I'm drawing the female skeleton. And right now I think the that pipe. And I can see I draw these lines then because these are just exercises the direction that will be opposite to the direction of the shoulders. So it is going down and the direction of the shoulder blades is going up. Of course, it's very important when you're drunk to signal or mark where the main joints on the human body are, or in this case, the skeleton. And this is a sped-up part. So after you saw me, saw the speed that I'm drawing and watching stuff, you can see the sped-up video. So you wouldn't lose too much time. In this stage, already made a decision where to put the elbows and hence, and moving to part we flex. Now it's all about connecting the dots. And that is good because in that case, you feel more confident. Now. Because you know, all the parts and we are all the parts laid in some details on the spine. Adding further details. The shoulder blades. Now going humorous, going back to other parts like I said earlier, when I'm drawing. And you should try that or find your own way is to go around the drawing and not spend too much time dedicating one particular area of the triangle. That I think that's, that's good practice because in that way or have more joint that is more, let's say in line, more connected with its all of its parts and not have just one part that is more pronounced than the other. That is next. And in this case, after I'm finished with the drawing with a pencil, I'll move on two micron markers. And I'm trying in this class to show you as much drawing material as a Ken that show you the way I use it. So in this case, you see me using that micron pencils pens. And you can see a part of my head in the video. Sorry about that. Just to show you how a whole these materials and how you can use it, what is the best. I decided for this, because it can have various thickness these markers and we are very practical and you want to show fine details. So I'm not sure if this is necessary for this part, but Let's say I haven't talked about those microbes before, so I decided to make that one for this drawing. I will also use it without preparatory drawing. I said sometimes just to try to exercise precision and to not worry about making erasing and stuff like that. Now, I'm using same micron size, but I'm using the same Micron pens, but I'm using a thinner lines, thin ones for shading. 11. Back view muscle drawing: And this is the last exercise for this view. And like in previous case, I'll be drawing the muscle structure from this view. Unlike in previous case, I'm using that technical pencil. And one of the reason that I recommend using these pencils is because you don't have to sharpen them and all the lines will be same thickness. So I think this is an HB inside. So it's fairly light. So I like to use that a lot when I'm making the preparations because they can be, let's say, easier to erase. You can also, if you like, use in Pencils, maybe think about using pencils in different colors like red on blue. And that is just another option that you can have. So when you're going, let's say for example, with some pen and ink over these trunks, it'll be easier to see the final lines that so it doesn't have to even erased thread lice. Ok, let's go back to drawing. And now that I made that first pass using some of the eraser to erase certain lines and then move on from there. This drawing will show the basic masses of the muscles that I talked about in previous videos. So we'll start that in a second and we'll start that straight weeks markers. And again, using Micron pens. Adding those lines, we have those that belong to the neck and going to other. And the groups of muscles deltoid, then muscles of middle back and stuff like that. Adding all those groups. And like you said, you didn't have to use the drawing with your pencil for all of your exercises. Maybe it is better sometimes to go straight into the pen. And that can be a good exercise because you know, you can't much erase these lines. So every stroke that you make should carry a certain weight that you should have when you're drawing. And that is also very interesting and also very helpful in whatever stage of your joint journey you are. And here I'm using after that glutes drawing and using the hand joined hands, a hamstring group and then calf muscles and going on from one to the other. Now to the feet. And after that the other. So these markers come in various sizes. So you think about which ones you should use. So probably thicker ones would be used for outlines. And thinner ones are for the shapes that are within silhouette. And let's say, for example, for shading, that can be a good use for these lines. So at the moment, I'm using one and the same. But what, most of the times, what happens and drawing, I'm trying to switch between those. So think about when you're trying to get these markers to have at least three sizes. So I like to use 01010306, something that will, when you can make a difference. That's the drawing is pretty much come into conclusion. And haven't done for this example much of the shading because I wanted to make those groups more fairly with like you see now, I'm using the thicker marker so we can distinguish all the important muscle groups. Have those for their forearms, biceps, abdominal muscles, hamstring group muscles and stuff like that. 12. Front view exercises: Finally, we'll take a look at the front are. Like in the previous lessons. We'll go from surface drawing them to rig drive. Here you can see here. And then an atomic or the bond structure drawing. And finally, some simple methyl groups that you can then see determine where they are in the human figure and have maybe a better understanding and knowledge of all these. Thus like before, start with a surface drying and just mean basic form. Don't go into details. Concentrate on doing it for like 15-20 minutes of depth. Here. Makerere drawing. Thus the basic shapes. Again, mix skeletal drawing. Here you can see bones that make this interior look. We have the skull. We see the sternum. This bone here, clavicle, humorous. Radius is called OMA. And we have the carpels, metacarpals. And finally, these are the smallest parts. The fingers there called the phalanx. Also. Then we have pelvic girdle, ribcage, ribs. Further down. I have one that one that bone that is called femur, but tell tibia and fibula and also bones that structure, the feet, tarsals and again, the failings. Make sure you're working this in short amount of time. And better to exercise, make the drawing and move on to another, but be aware of all the parts. And finally, we have our muscle drawing. So let's start and the delta IDS. And then we have just muscles, pectoralis. Here. The glands and matter that form. Breast, biceps are next. And it can be seen here. Muscles of the neck. These are the muscles here can see them alter. Human head. There are many, many of them on that small space. Is this color to color the muscles that belong. Sort of abdominal group. Here. We have muscles that we're along side Apps, quadriceps and those that are tibialis anterior. That's it for now. And in the next section of this class, I'll see demos of these drawings. And you'll see how it's different drawing materials to create these drinks. 13. Front view surface and stick figure dr: So here we are with another drawing, and this time it will be front view. And as you can see here, I'm using measurements to determine the height of the figure and it's roughly about 7.5 headstall, so I call it I'm going to start with that one and continue with charcoal. Again. I talked about that earlier. I like to use it so I don't have to worry much about details, especially in this stage. And you can see a Muslim measuring the width of the figure and the shoulders. It's about 2.52 heads. So moving on to other details, switching back to Canada pencils and determining the placement of certain parts. Like before. I like to mark where our most important joints in the body and moving on from there. So it's like you see me repeat certain stuff from time to time. But that is very important if you want to build a routine and have more confidence, even taking a break for a while, looking at your drawing and then continue. Next. We have the overall shape that I talked about previous exercises and drawings to make the overall shapes. And then from there, they are lot lines at this stage. And you can notice the way I'm holding the pencil and changing that from time to time. But for some reason, drawing was a little bit, I don't know, challenging for me and I couldn't get my head around with it, but I kept on drawing. So here I have finished the overall shape of the arms, breasts, and just let, showing the shape and the silhouette of the entire body. Not overall satisfied with this train, but I kept on working because, you know, after this one, I'll make another one and another one. And it's important to try to finish the drawing and after it's done, to look at the mistakes and improve on them. Not just push and make the join, but then come back and see if everything was right and what should improve and where to improve. So I'll let you see I'm doing a lot of erasing and doing to crosshatching and hatch. I'm not overall also, it's important to tell you, I'm not pleased with this trend, especially the head, but that wasn't the main focus for this drawing, but nevertheless done backdrop. But I decided to keep this video and to show you that mistakes can happen. And then you might have some bad days of bad drawings. And that is perfectly all right. Now I'm using racer and you saw me using the smudge to, to make up that lighting. Of course, when certain parts are done. Then go to software pencil and tried to give the form to another part of the body. And at least show from the surface that were certain Muslim group, groups are. So once again, if you make mistake, don't, don't, don't, don't worry about it. That can be major stock for many people that they don't see that they're drawing is going out right ways. But you have to persist and improve by looking at the drawing and then learning from them and improving my profession. The school told us, don't throw away your drawings that you are not satisfied with. Keep them in. Go, go back. Wisdom from time to time. C, What have you done wrong? Or that you could do better the next time. So that this can also be for that example. So don't worry about your drawing. Just keep on pushing, learning new stuff and then improve. And here is the second drawing, and that'll be the quick stick figure drawing. Again. Using measurements. Measuring 7.57 figures, had some 7.5 heads tall figure and making the joints placement of ribcage, then the pelvis. And it is you always are making those dots. Can know where are the most important joints of the human figure. And that helped me get the overall drawing from the stack placement for its nose. And this'll be quick skeletal. Had. Just to familiarize myself with the overall placement of Old Main Elements of the body. 14. Front view skeletal drawing: Now we are here at skeletal drawing. And I'm starting off with pencil that is lighter. And like you see, I always start with measuring the height of the human figure, but determine the length of the human head. You see me? I drew that sternum bone that's in front and also the clavicle bone. And I'm adding details to the skull. Just a little bit, cheekbone and other parts of the head or the scope. And after that, I'm going to start adding other films as well. It's how it's up to you if you wanted to learn all the names of old bonds. But in general, you should know that the main bones, like you said, when it comes to the muscles to know the main muscle groups, and then of course to know the main bones or the skeleton. And this one here in the upper arm is called the humorous. I think that's how it's pronounced. This tip. I'm seeing me I'm not completely satisfied with the drawing of the collar bone and the humerus. So I'll do it again. Like I said in the previous video. Mistakes are the natural part of your work and drawing and learning from your mistakes is always beneficial. After that isn't really see me draw the spine and I'm moving down. I have the, the length of the entire figure so I can know where to put each tone and working on the bones of the lower part. And I'm drawing the radius and ulna bones. After that, I'm going to pelvis. And this is because on the female figure, so it's a little bit different than the some of the male figure. That's what I also talked about in the previous videos. So it helps to know the length of each parts. So that is important and that is why we are doing these exercises. So how long is the hand, the arm and wish to end? So to remember which bone is which can add the names of these poems next, next to your drawing. Finishing one and the other leg and the one that only remains feet, bones that make up the feed and the other hand. Like seeing my previous not paying too much attention to individual, individual rips. But it's enough for this exercise just to show the location and the size for, for the entire ribcage. And finally, for an additional, something additional to drawing, I decided to go at and at shading. So you can see me here. I'm using the pen that is smaller, like 0.3 or 0.01. to add additional settings. And see you in the next video. 15. Front view muscle drawing: Here we are finally at front view of the muscle drawing. And like in each previous case, when we have a figure that's goings looking straight at us, we have made the entire height of the figure, added head, some faint lines for the neck, the ribcage, and then going from there so we can know where each part ends and where other muscle group begins. So based on our drawing of the skeleton and the stick figure drawing. And also before we made surfaces join, it's easier to take a look and analyze where each muscle group and spare and where it is on the human body. So this is a loose sketch. Again, I'm holding my pencil with the entire hand. I'm using all five fingers to draw. And using a very hard pencil. From the beginning, I'm just making some lines that are fairly faint and grey to make all the shapes in its place. After that continued to finish the other leg soon. At more details to see where all the important muscle groups. Three also talked about earlier. Okay, so we have breast and after that will continue. So here I added some features for face, added muscles in the upper part, some details for the eyes. Muscles that aren't face and there are many muscles. And you may heard about me or heard me talk about it in previous, one of the previous classes we are talking about the joint, the portrait. In this case I'm using Finally, pencil that is bit software just to show better view of this muscle. And because I'm using the pencil that is software and a little bit more pressure, I can go in and use the eraser, pronated race and then regular one. So the main groups are more with and with this kind of tackled pencil that has a point here. That is more point here. I can go in and just outline the main muscle groups in the main muscles that form the musculature of the human body. So we see here, these are some oblique muscles. Just true. Also nominal muscles. And I'm doing that right now, are those that are called software details that are not necessary. It's important to get the main muscle groups actually miss here, draw the quadriceps muscles. So we're working with the technical panel. It's easier because the tip is point here. And you can separate lines. So those are basically hold the exercises they recommend when you're starting to draw human anatomy. I hope you enjoy it and see you in the last video. 16. So like you see me doing, you'll be also making 12 drawings, resources that you might need to complete all these drawings you can find in the PDF that is attached to this class or use other resources that I also have on the project page of this class. So you can, or at least so you can use those resources. You can use my own drawings or make your own. And I have a list of certain apps that you can use for anatomical drawings. And it's a good thing because besides having all these human drawings, it has also the animal tries. So like you said, Practice is the key for understanding the genomic data. And more you do it, the better you become. Didn't become overnight and doing just these 12 drawings and have to delve deeper. And if really loved drawing, parakeet, time, day, week, doing these kind of drawings. And over time you'll get better. And then you will be able to make whatever types of drawings that you would like to have. Imagination from references, from live drawing sessions and stuff. I bet. Final words: Regulations on finishing the class, and I hope you found it useful for your drawing skills. Now it's time for you to create your own projects and work and you're drawing. But before that, let's talk about three main issues that will help you in this process. First, observe, observe, observe. Look at the nature. Look at everything that surrounds you. Look at people that are in your neighborhood, in your relatives. Look at books, learn from them, use apps any way that you can. And you can familiarize yourself with trying to human figure will help this class. Maybe just steps in your weight to get better. Second, remember the shapes of the human body parts, human body, and tried to make them simple so you can easily remember them and use them in any occasion. So even if you're drawing a familiar imagination, you know which part body looks like and how to draw more speed and accuracy. And third, remember or think about relations of these parts. They are not just random son of someone parts they should all interconnect with each other and relate to each other. And say how upper part of the human hand is connected with the lower part, what life's ties and how they all come together. As human body in motion, standard is not just a bunch of raw meat, but it's also connected and has a certain structure and energy and it can move at any point.
