Start your novel for Nanowrimo (November is National Novel Writing Month) or just dip your toe in the world of thrilling and suspense-filled storytelling. Whatever your writing goals, treat yourself to a focused 4-week experience — share your in-progress work, get to know your peers, and give and receive feedback for accelerated learning.

Workshop Timeline

Week 1: Begin by watching Writing Suspense: How to Write Stories that Thrill in Any Genre, a Skillshare Original. You can watch the full class this week, or watch it in sections, pausing to write in between.
Week 2: Try your hand at a Freytag's Triangle -- an exercise to help you map out the progression of conflict in your story. Share your work and provide at least three pieces of constructive feedback to your fellow students. If you have time, start writing!
Week 3: Write, write, write!
Week 4: Use this week for refinement. Share your pages, read and comment on other people’s work, and incorporate feedback into your draft.
