Hello, Friends, I'm Karen.

I am a native Texan born and raised in Dallas, now living in southern California. I have been a commercial illustrator, designer, graphic artist, website designer, and fine artist for over 25 years. I create art for products and advertising.

I am passionate about creating beautiful art through drawing and painting, using both traditional and digital techniques. With the help of Procreate and my Apple Pencil, I bring to life illustrations that are inspired by the vibrant world around me. Every day, I'm surrounded by thebeauty of nature through long walks on the beach, hikes in the mountains and the San Diego Safari Park. My artwork can be found on various products such as packaging, calendars, fabric, greeting cards, children’s books, kids meal boxes, art prints, and home decor. Some of the esteemed clients I have had the pleasure of working with include Verizon, Sonic, Chili's, Del Taco, Dream Smart Academy (goal setting workshops), Shaka Coffee, and CH Products (video game products).

I love road trips! One of my all time favorite places is Yosemite. We drive up there every year. 

Along the way, I taught a variety of art classes for ages 4 to 85. My first teaching experience was right out of college teaching summer art camps at a Montessori school in Texas.
